- 0:00Speaker 1: 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. Tony D'Angelo in October 27th,
- 0:06Speaker 1: 2026 on the Lee Elsie Show. Good morning. For the
- 0:11Speaker 1: next three, you're going to belong to me. We'll do
- 0:14Speaker 1: the prayer, then we'll do the program, then we'll get
- 0:16Speaker 1: into it. Heavenly Father, we come before you with humble
- 0:19Speaker 1: hearts asking for your mercy and your peace in this
- 0:22Speaker 1: uncertain hour. We lift up our nation and our leaders
- 0:25Speaker 1: around the world. Grant them wisdom beyond their own understanding.
- 0:28Speaker 1: courage to do what is right, and discernment that may
- 0:31Speaker 1: prevent needless suffering. Guide every decision with justice restraint and
- 0:35Speaker 1: a desire for peace. Lord, we pray for the brave
- 0:38Speaker 1: men and women of our military and for our police officers, firefighters, paramedics,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and all first responders, including the officers of ICE. Surround
- 0:46Speaker 1: them with your protection. Strengthen them for the difficult days ahead.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Comfort their families and bring them safely home. And Lord,
- 0:53Speaker 1: you know I like to pray that same prayer for
- 0:55Speaker 1: all the people out there today that are working people,
- 0:57Speaker 1: who are at risk doing what they need to do
- 1:00Speaker 1: for their families. Bring them home to the safety and
- 1:02Speaker 1: comfort of their families tonight, today as well. We ask
- 1:05Speaker 1: you to watch over our country, unite us in purpose,
- 1:08Speaker 1: calm our fears, and remind us that our ultimate hope
- 1:11Speaker 1: is found in you alone. May your peace rule in
- 1:14Speaker 1: our hearts, your truth guide our nation, and your hand
- 1:16Speaker 1: of protection rest upon the United States of America. In
- 1:20Speaker 1: Jesus' name we pray, amen. Well, good morning. It's Tony D'Angelo,
- 1:24Speaker 1: and the last of my Actually, the second to the
- 1:27Speaker 1: last of my temporary Tuesdays. A little bit of housekeeping first.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'll give you the forecast, which pretty much looks pretty
- 1:33Speaker 1: good throughout the week. Today is sunny, high near 55.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Might get a little warm in the sun later, and
- 1:39Speaker 1: then tonight's clear. We have a frost advisory, coastal areas,
- 1:43Speaker 1: from midnight through 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. So we've had
- 1:47Speaker 1: our frost in Pomfret, and the program today, we've got...
- 1:53Speaker 1: You got me until 6.50. Then you have Bob Lazeri
- 1:56Speaker 1: with sports. The Power Hour, which I can't wait for today.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Everybody's telling me how much they love these conversations. And
- 2:05Speaker 1: I was honored yesterday that I was actually able to
- 2:07Speaker 1: sit and listen to what we did, which is rare.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You know, Bob Swick and I will be on from
- 2:12Speaker 1: 7 to 8. 8 o'clock, you're going to be hearing
- 2:15Speaker 1: from a gentleman, John Sanders. I will give you the
- 2:18Speaker 1: background as you see him. You want to be here
- 2:20Speaker 1: for this. You're going to be blessed. 8.30 is voice
- 2:23Speaker 1: of the fan, open season, let it all hang out.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But I, again, am so grateful. I'm going to begin
- 2:30Speaker 1: today for myself. I have a one-minute tape, give or take,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and I'm going to have Mr. Engineer play it for me,
- 2:37Speaker 1: if he would be so kind.
- 2:38Speaker 2: All right, good morning.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I am Sweeney.
- 2:40Speaker 4: I'm coming to you live from a frigid Friday here.
- 2:46Speaker 1: We have a momentary technical difficulty.
- 2:51Speaker 5: All right, good morning.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I am Sweeney.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I'm coming to you live from a frigid Friday here
- 2:54Speaker 4: in Soho. I want to hop up here and give
- 2:55Speaker 4: you my take in 60 seconds or less like.
- 2:57Speaker 6: I always do.
- 2:58Speaker 4: This will be to draw your attention to a piece
- 3:00Speaker 4: of legislation. That was passed in law yesterday in the
- 3:03Speaker 4: cloak of the night by New York City Council, which
- 3:05Speaker 4: in my estimation is the single most dangerous and radical
- 3:08Speaker 4: move by the Mamdani administration yet.
- 3:11Speaker 7: Take a look at this and I'll explain it to you.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Right now, as you're watching me because of that law,
- 3:15Speaker 4: the government here in New York City has the right
- 3:18Speaker 4: of first refusal on property sales. So what does this
- 3:21Speaker 4: mean in effect? That means if I, a property owner,
- 3:24Speaker 4: want to sell my property to be a willing purchaser,
- 3:27Speaker 4: the government now is the option to intervene and buy
- 3:30Speaker 4: that property instead. Now apply that to different pieces of property,
- 3:34Speaker 4: which is of course the direction these.
- 3:36Speaker 7: People want to go in.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Your car, your boat, your home. If you want to
- 3:39Speaker 4: sell these things, the government has a right to intervene
- 3:42Speaker 4: and buy them first. Now fast forward 5, 10, 15
- 3:46Speaker 4: years as the government with its endless resources and endless
- 3:50Speaker 4: money in the form of your tax dollars expands its
- 3:53Speaker 4: portfolio of private property When you want to buy one
- 3:55Speaker 4: of those things or rent an apartment, you've got to
- 3:58Speaker 4: buy or rent from the government. And let's take a
- 4:01Speaker 4: look at apartments that have been run by the government.
- 4:03Speaker 4: These would be our conditions. Guys, what I'm saying is
- 4:06Speaker 4: not political. It's not partisan. It is pure fact. They
- 4:10Speaker 4: wanted to get communism into the front door. And because
- 4:13Speaker 4: they couldn't, they're going in through the back. And my
- 4:15Speaker 4: only request for New Yorkers is that you guys please
- 4:18Speaker 4: finally wake up before it's too late.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Wake up before it's too late. And I want to
- 4:26Speaker 1: reiterate what the young gentleman said. If I wish to
- 4:29Speaker 1: sell my house or my building right now, we're at
- 4:32Speaker 1: buildings in New York City, to another person like my engineer,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and I say we agree on a price and everything's fine,
- 4:40Speaker 1: we then turn to the government. And the government has,
- 4:43Speaker 1: in New York City, coming to a stupid state near
- 4:47Speaker 1: you or a stupid city, 90 days. to say, I
- 4:50Speaker 1: don't want it, I really don't want it, I really
- 4:53Speaker 1: don't know, this or that, let us send in our inspectors,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and on and on. And basically, we've now crossed over
- 5:01Speaker 1: in America, or in Connecticut, or 90 miles down the road,
- 5:06Speaker 1: or if you're listening in Fairfield County, you're a whole
- 5:08Speaker 1: lot closer to this, the government actually inserting itself into
- 5:14Speaker 1: private capital and private worth. And as the young gentleman
- 5:19Speaker 1: was saying, where does it stop? Because, quote, unquote, to
- 5:24Speaker 1: the greater good, they, of course, know better than we do,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and they, of course, have unlimited resources, as the young
- 5:29Speaker 1: gentleman Sweeney said, with your tax dollars, can go and
- 5:33Speaker 1: buy whatever in the hell they want and stick their
- 5:37Speaker 1: fingers in what you have worked for your life to do. Now,
- 5:40Speaker 1: the reason for this is because government is so inept
- 5:46Speaker 1: overspending Politicians are the enablers of government or whatever you
- 5:51Speaker 1: want to call it. They're the opening act for the
- 5:53Speaker 1: administrative state which enables the government. And they've so burned
- 5:59Speaker 1: out of your tax money, they now want to get
- 6:03Speaker 1: into your pocket because, after all, that is theirs and
- 6:07Speaker 1: not yours. This all kind of goes back to Barry
- 6:09Speaker 1: Obama when he said, you know, you didn't build that.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I built the road for you to drive to the
- 6:14Speaker 1: building and make whatever it was you're going to make. So, therefore,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you were entitled to pay me for what I did.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And actually, Barry didn't build any road. Your tax dollars
- 6:25Speaker 1: built the road. Government's primary job is to build the road.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Government wants to do everything else. And that was what
- 6:33Speaker 1: they think. So that's basically what we're coming down to. Now,
- 6:36Speaker 1: you think that's good? You like some peanut butter? I'm
- 6:39Speaker 1: going to give you some Skippy with nuts. I don't
- 6:42Speaker 1: know how many of you guys remember Robert Reich. He
- 6:44Speaker 1: was the Secretary of Labor under Bill Clinton. I like
- 6:49Speaker 1: to call him a Bolshevik dwarf, basically. And this guy
- 6:54Speaker 1: was probably the biggest closet communist ever in the history
- 6:58Speaker 1: of mankind. He's coming out yesterday saying, well, I think
- 7:02Speaker 1: the government should own Starlink. Now think about this. A
- 7:07Speaker 1: lot of us right now are considering getting Starlink, and
- 7:11Speaker 1: we're measuring our properties. I know where we are personally,
- 7:16Speaker 1: we would have to erect something, and it would basically
- 7:20Speaker 1: be free over the air, not necessarily free over the
- 7:23Speaker 1: air internet, but certainly no reliance on the wonderful world
- 7:29Speaker 1: of public utilities, Big Brother, or your friendly local cable
- 7:33Speaker 1: internet company. I have no complaint with my own as
- 7:36Speaker 1: it sits, but you wonder what... As people want to
- 7:40Speaker 1: control what's there, you wonder where the hell they're going
- 7:44Speaker 1: to go next. And it's like, well, if you control Starlink,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and if the government owns Starlink, basically they're going to
- 7:55Speaker 1: start restricting that. And this is because their greatest, shall
- 8:02Speaker 1: I say, nightmare... is an empowered citizen, is information, is
- 8:06Speaker 1: you knowing what the hell they're doing and coming out
- 8:11Speaker 1: and telling them that. So if, which brings me back
- 8:15Speaker 1: to where I'm at or where I'm starting or where
- 8:17Speaker 1: I'm beginning, if this is the mind of government where,
- 8:23Speaker 1: and this all comes down to, you know, free grocery
- 8:26Speaker 1: stores and free buses and everything else, and you might
- 8:28Speaker 1: want to sit there, you know, you're sitting in, East Lyme, Connecticut,
- 8:31Speaker 1: or Woodstock, Connecticut, or wherever you happen to be, and
- 8:33Speaker 1: you think, oh, that couldn't possibly come here. The people
- 8:37Speaker 1: who are in your government are equally as motivated and or, i.e.,
- 8:42Speaker 1: equally as stupid as the people who are in the
- 8:45Speaker 1: New York City Council. It is very easy for them
- 8:49Speaker 1: to say, well, you know, affordability is a big crisis,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and people are getting rich, and they're selling things, properties
- 8:57Speaker 1: for incredible amounts of capital gain, and that's not fair,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and there needs to be something of affordability for all. Therefore,
- 9:04Speaker 1: we're going to have government institute a right of first refusal.
- 9:09Speaker 1: People are thinking about this right now, and where I
- 9:12Speaker 1: lose my mind, basically, is when you talk to people
- 9:16Speaker 1: who were in office, running for office, discussing something, And
- 9:22Speaker 1: you say, don't you know what the mindset is of
- 9:26Speaker 1: these people who want to take over everything? You may
- 9:31Speaker 1: think it's about libraries. You may think it's about porn
- 9:35Speaker 1: in libraries or kiddie porn in libraries or the whole thing.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And that is a wonderful fight. And that is a
- 9:42Speaker 1: good fight. But that is only the calling card. Look
- 9:47Speaker 1: at it this way. You get into the library. By
- 9:51Speaker 1: doing kids' books, basically? I mean, the guy who's writing
- 9:54Speaker 1: that law does not want his kids to read that
- 9:56Speaker 1: porn any more than you do, but what's the objective
- 9:58Speaker 1: by that? that, basically? Well, you start to control other things.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It's like, well, you know, you've got this history here.
- 10:05Speaker 1: You've got some George Washington, some General John Pershing. You've
- 10:09Speaker 1: got some Abraham Lincoln. It's like, we don't need any
- 10:11Speaker 1: of that. All that stuff is, you know, we're going
- 10:12Speaker 1: to do the 1619 Project or we're going to do
- 10:15Speaker 1: all this other stuff. It is all a part of
- 10:18Speaker 1: the erasure of of Western culture. You don't believe me?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Look at Paris. Paris is what happens when you have
- 10:29Speaker 1: an unending social service net, no capital investment, nobody investing
- 10:36Speaker 1: in things, you know, kind of like Connecticut, basically. And,
- 10:38Speaker 1: you know, why I scream about opportunity zones and why
- 10:41Speaker 1: I scream about Trump accounts and why I scream about
- 10:44Speaker 1: empowering people financially, because when you have something, it gets
- 10:48Speaker 1: a lot harder for somebody to take it away from
- 10:50Speaker 1: you when you have nothing. It's like, yeah, give me
- 10:52Speaker 1: your house. Give me your turn. Tell me, you know,
- 10:56Speaker 1: tell me King Kong wrote the constitution. I really don't care.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Just feed me and house me. And it's like, basically
- 11:02Speaker 1: this is where we are at right now. This is America.
- 11:06Speaker 1: This is America. This is Connecticut, October 27th, 2026. And
- 11:11Speaker 1: it's right now it's sane versus crazy. It's what you
- 11:17Speaker 1: own versus what the government wants to take from you.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And let me just say this, and I know we're
- 11:20Speaker 1: coming up on a break. I see so many frustrated
- 11:24Speaker 1: Republicans and good-hearted people when they're running, and it's like,
- 11:28Speaker 1: how do I deal with Donald Trump? How do I
- 11:30Speaker 1: deal with Donald Trump? We'll get it this way. What
- 11:32Speaker 1: is wrong? Leave Donald Trump out of it for just
- 11:35Speaker 1: a second. Humor me for a little bit. Permit me
- 11:38Speaker 1: to have my folly. What is wrong with a strong economy?
- 11:42Speaker 1: What is wrong with kids that are financially free of
- 11:45Speaker 1: debt in 15 years? Mark this day. Mark this day.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And put a calendar, if you have a calendar, going
- 11:52Speaker 1: out 15 years. And if we still have poor kids
- 11:54Speaker 1: 15 years from now, I told you on this day
- 11:57Speaker 1: and I told you two months ago how we get
- 11:59Speaker 1: kids out of debt and financially empowered in 15 years.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It involves something called a Trump account. But basically... These
- 12:07Speaker 1: are good principles regardless of the man doing them. Now,
- 12:11Speaker 1: the man is making mistakes. He is a man. Okay,
- 12:14Speaker 1: I'm sorry. People make mistakes. GD it. But basically, it's like, okay,
- 12:19Speaker 1: take the good principles. When people turn that MAGA crap
- 12:23Speaker 1: on you, why don't you start turning this commie crap
- 12:26Speaker 1: on them? Hey, Democrat, do you believe that public, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 1: that there should be a right of first refusal? Do
- 12:35Speaker 1: you believe that there should be a that government should
- 12:39Speaker 1: step in and start owning property and don't let them
- 12:42Speaker 1: get away with it? You know, press them on it,
- 12:44Speaker 1: because that is, to me, in my mind, the reverse
- 12:47Speaker 1: MAGA argument. How many Democrats are out there that believe
- 12:51Speaker 1: in this crap and want to have, quote, unquote, you know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: right of first refusals on property? It starts there. It's
- 12:58Speaker 1: coming to your house. It's coming to perhaps your livestock,
- 13:01Speaker 1: your farm. Get ready. Here it comes. Well, get ready,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and here comes the rest of the show. Tony D'Angelo, 94.9

- 15:00Speaker 12: he learned to help people at an early age. Then
- 15:02Speaker 12: he became a nurse, and later a doctor. And helping
- 15:05Speaker 12: people is what Doc Foley is all about. And now,
- 15:09Speaker 12: he's running to serve the people of Montville and Waterford
- 15:12Speaker 12: in the House of Representatives.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Hi, this is Dr.
- 15:14Speaker 13: John Foley, and I'm running for representative of the 38th

- 15:25Speaker 13: to making Connecticut more affordable by reducing income taxes, lowering

- 15:35Speaker 7: I will be your voice in Hartford.
- 15:37Speaker 12: Vote in early voting and on November 3rd for John Foley.
- 15:40Speaker 12: It is urgent that you give us your support and
- 15:43Speaker 12: more importantly, your vote.

- 15:49Speaker 13: I'm John Foley and I approve this message.
- 16:00Speaker 14: Fox News, I'm CJ Papa. The midterms are just a
- 16:03Speaker 14: week away. President Trump applying the full court press on voters.
- 16:06Speaker 15: Trump heads to Texas today, where he'll campaign for Republicans,
- 16:10Speaker 15: including Ken Paxton, facing Democrat James Tallarico, who campaigned last night,
- 16:14Speaker 15: slamming the administration over rising costs.
- 16:18Speaker 7: Fox's Alex Hogan there.
- 16:19Speaker 14: The president stops first in Corpus Christi and then Lubbock.
- 16:22Speaker 14: House Speaker Mike Johnson explains why this election is so critical,
- 16:26Speaker 14: telling Fox.
- 16:27Speaker 16: We've been from coast to coast, and I'm telling you,
- 16:29Speaker 16: the polling is inaccurate.
- 16:31Speaker 3: The American people understand this is a contrast election. We
- 16:33Speaker 3: do not want to go back to crazy.
- 16:35Speaker 14: Israel holds its first election since the October 7 terror
- 16:37Speaker 14: attack by Hamas.
- 16:38Speaker 17: Polls indicate a very tight race between Israeli Prime Minister
- 16:42Speaker 17: Benjamin Netanyahu and his main challenger, former IDF General Gadi Eisenkot.
- 16:47Speaker 14: Fox's Trey Yinks in Tel Aviv. America is listening to

- 20:26Speaker 29: The cost of living in Connecticut is simply too high.
- 20:29Speaker 29: That's why we need real leaders like State Senator Heather
- 20:32Speaker 29: Summers fighting for hardworking families. Heather Summers stands up to
- 20:36Speaker 29: the broken politics of Hartford and does the hard work
- 20:39Speaker 29: that delivers results for eastern Connecticut communities. Heather cut taxes
- 20:43Speaker 29: on Social Security, retirement income, and diesel fuel. She's led
- 20:47Speaker 29: the fight to stop Hartford tax hikes that increase our costs,
- 20:51Speaker 29: including exposing a scheme to hike taxes on farmland earlier
- 20:55Speaker 29: this year. And with Connecticut families straining under out-of-control energy crisis,
- 20:59Speaker 29: Heather Summers is fighting to eliminate the public benefits charge
- 21:03Speaker 29: on electric bills. Some candidates talk a big game, but
- 21:06Speaker 29: never do the work. Heather Summers shows up every time,
- 21:10Speaker 29: delivering results for eastern Connecticut, challenging the status quo in Hartford,
- 21:15Speaker 29: and fighting for lower costs for Connecticut families.
- 21:18Speaker 30: I'm Heather Summers, candidate for state senate, and I approve
- 21:21Speaker 30: this message.
- 21:22Speaker 29: Paid for by Summers for State Senate. Constantine Antipas, Treasurer.
- 21:28Speaker 31: Good morning, I'm Sean Murphy.
- 21:30Speaker 32: Sunny skies today with a high around 65. Two workers
- 21:33Speaker 32: suffered severe burns in an accidental steam discharge at Griswold
- 21:38Speaker 32: Products in Plainfield yesterday. One was airlifted to a hospital
- 21:42Speaker 32: while the other was treated and released. OSHA and state
- 21:45Speaker 32: officials are investigating. A person suffered serious injuries yesterday after
- 21:50Speaker 32: being run over by machinery. Near Providence Pike in Putnam,
- 21:54Speaker 32: an off-duty state trooper applied two tourniquets before emergency crews arrived.
- 21:59Speaker 32: The victim was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center. A
- 22:02Speaker 32: new London man serving 65 years for the 2018 stabbing
- 22:06Speaker 32: death of his former partner is seeking a 55-year sentence reduction.
- 22:11Speaker 32: 50-year-old Christopher Petaway argued Monday that his constitutional rights were
- 22:16Speaker 32: violated during his trial. A judge will issue a written
- 22:20Speaker 32: decision at a later date. A 43-year-old Sterling man was
- 22:23Speaker 32: arrested over the weekend after allegedly breaking into a home
- 22:27Speaker 32: and assaulting someone protected by a restraining order. State police
- 22:30Speaker 32: used a canine to track down Douglas Berregard, who faces
- 22:34Speaker 32: multiple charges, including home invasion and assaults. He was held
- 22:39Speaker 32: on a $ 100, 000 bond. Authorities are investigating the death of
- 22:42Speaker 32: 83-year-old Christopher Andrews, whose body was found along the shoreline
- 22:47Speaker 32: near Ram Island in Mystic Harbor. A vessel was discovered
- 22:51Speaker 32: adrift nearby around 10 a.m. The medical examiner is working
- 22:55Speaker 32: to determine the cause of death. I'm Sean Murphy. When
- 23:00Speaker 32: news breaks, we break.
- 23:03Speaker 33: In.
- 23:03Speaker 1: 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. Tony D'Angelo in for the
- 23:08Speaker 1: Lee Elsie Show and our Peter Familias, whom I understand
- 23:11Speaker 1: will be returning in five broadcast days, and all of
- 23:16Speaker 1: us await that very eagerly. Several bits of housekeeping. The
- 23:24Speaker 1: my engineer in a moment of sobriety asked me who
- 23:27Speaker 1: John Sanders is at eight o'clock and I'm not going
- 23:30Speaker 1: to throw that game in the bullpen. The only thing
- 23:32Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you is you're going to be amazed.
- 23:34Speaker 1: And you know how I like to do occasionally and
- 23:37Speaker 1: I always forget the honor group of the day. Well,
- 23:40Speaker 1: I have the honor man of the day in Coach
- 23:44Speaker 1: Juan Roman. And I minimize his life experiences when I
- 23:49Speaker 1: say that. But he sends me a message over the break.
- 23:52Speaker 1: It's like, was the opening Chet Baker? I said, yes,
- 23:55Speaker 1: it was Chet Baker. Look for the silver lining. So, Juan,
- 23:58Speaker 1: you're in the honor group of the day all by yourself.
- 24:01Speaker 1: But anyway, got a few minutes with you here. I'm
- 24:04Speaker 1: going to read something to you. And believe me, I
- 24:07Speaker 1: recommend to everybody. find these new services. I haven't joined
- 24:14Speaker 1: Truth Social yet. I just haven't. I haven't had the time,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but I'm kind of comfortable on X. But, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I follow the biblical admonition of in the mouth of
- 24:25Speaker 1: two or three witnesses, if I'm seeing something happen two
- 24:27Speaker 1: times and both people are saying the same thing, I'm
- 24:29Speaker 1: kind of interested. I turn once again to Spencer Pratt,
- 24:34Speaker 1: And most of you know Spencer Pratt. He ran for
- 24:37Speaker 1: mayor of Los Angeles, and basically they stole the election
- 24:40Speaker 1: from him due to fraud. Believe me, what's going to
- 24:44Speaker 1: happen in California, which is a place I used to
- 24:47Speaker 1: love to go, love to visit, wanted to live there,
- 24:50Speaker 1: did live there for a while, and, and, and, this
- 24:53Speaker 1: is going to be unbelievable beyond belief. And you're going
- 24:56Speaker 1: to see this spreading to every single city where things
- 24:59Speaker 1: are just so out of control. There are people addicted
- 25:04Speaker 1: people everywhere i was watching a video the other night
- 25:07Speaker 1: of steve hilton who basically is tearing his guts out
- 25:12Speaker 1: to run for governor and save california and i say
- 25:16Speaker 1: to myself why don't other people running for office do
- 25:20Speaker 1: what he's show me that you mean it how badly
- 25:23Speaker 1: do you want it do you see what's happening and
- 25:26Speaker 1: basically what he's doing is he's doing a 60 second
- 25:28Speaker 1: video And while he's doing it, he's pointing over his
- 25:32Speaker 1: shoulder and you see a police officer and some guy
- 25:35Speaker 1: in the street and they're having a shootout. And this
- 25:37Speaker 1: is like downtown Los Angeles at night on a Sunday.
- 25:41Speaker 1: He then has the camera turn to across the street
- 25:45Speaker 1: and there's just homeless tents and addicted people everywhere now.
- 25:50Speaker 1: If this is what you want to see in America
- 25:54Speaker 1: with open borders and drugs for whoever needs them and
- 25:58Speaker 1: all this other kind of stuff, this is what you're
- 26:01Speaker 1: going to get. But basically, my estimation of what you're
- 26:05Speaker 1: seeing is the decline of Western civilization, and to which
- 26:10Speaker 1: I go to the Spencer Pratt posting on X. This
- 26:12Speaker 1: is a day ago. People who believe that a solution
- 26:16Speaker 1: to life's problems is giving more tax money to the
- 26:19Speaker 1: government are the people who actually haven't dealt with real problems. Amen, brother.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Small example. We, meaning the Prats, had to get Starlink
- 26:28Speaker 1: internet for our property and our vehicles because after government
- 26:31Speaker 1: burned down all the palisades in Malibu, the utility infrastructure
- 26:35Speaker 1: is still so bad, you end up with complete dead
- 26:38Speaker 1: zones everywhere. I couldn't manage running a campaign like that
- 26:41Speaker 1: because one industrialist built a rocket company years ago. We
- 26:45Speaker 1: now have an option to directly bypass everyone else's failings
- 26:49Speaker 1: while government spends the next three decades rebuilding. And when
- 26:52Speaker 1: you talk to the folks out there, a lot of
- 26:54Speaker 1: it is like they're never going to rebuild because I
- 26:57Speaker 1: was listening to Adam Carolla, and he said, you know,
- 26:59Speaker 1: his words, not mine. He said there are six lesbians
- 27:02Speaker 1: on the Malibu City Council that won't allow anything to
- 27:05Speaker 1: be built. And Spencer Pratt says all my savvy neighbors
- 27:09Speaker 1: who are rebuilding are investing in fire defense sprinkler systems
- 27:12Speaker 1: on their properties, aggressively managing the vegetation around their homes.
- 27:17Speaker 1: They've learned that no matter how much you pay the government,
- 27:19Speaker 1: they will not be there when you need them. Let
- 27:21Speaker 1: me read that again. They've learned that no matter how
- 27:23Speaker 1: much you pay the government, they will not be there
- 27:25Speaker 1: when you need them. Most their incompetence will likely be
- 27:28Speaker 1: the source of the emergency in the first place. Can
- 27:31Speaker 1: you folks like in New York and Connecticut, can you
- 27:34Speaker 1: dig what Mr. Pratt is saying? They won't be there
- 27:39Speaker 1: when the fire hits your backyard. They won't be there
- 27:41Speaker 1: when the homeless drug zombie stabs you.
- 27:43Speaker 34: In the neck.
- 27:43Speaker 1: But they certainly will be there if the IRS doesn't
- 27:45Speaker 1: get their share. This guy is so right on, it's unbelievable.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Every smart person who has endured hardship in this country
- 27:53Speaker 1: is hell-bent on becoming more self-reliant, independent, and off the grid.
- 27:58Speaker 1: We call that a clue. And I give that to
- 28:02Speaker 1: you as kind of an admonishment of things to come.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Because if this is, I'm just speaking factually, I don't
- 28:10Speaker 1: want to see this. I'm here on the Tuesdays. I'm
- 28:13Speaker 1: here doing my best so that it doesn't happen. I'm
- 28:16Speaker 1: having fun, okay? I am enjoying this. I mean, you know,
- 28:20Speaker 1: the house is a wreck. You know, the spouse is
- 28:21Speaker 1: giving me dirty looks. The animals are like, when are
- 28:24Speaker 1: you going to feed me, wash me? I understand all that.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm having fun. But basically... the clients are like, where
- 28:32Speaker 1: the hell is he? But it's like, I'm here because
- 28:35Speaker 1: I don't want to see America crumble, and we are
- 28:38Speaker 1: that close. We are that close to that happening. And
- 28:43Speaker 1: if it does, if it does, if the election is
- 28:46Speaker 1: not what we would hope it would be, these, whatever
- 28:51Speaker 1: you want to call it, municipal systems and governmental systems
- 28:56Speaker 1: that we would rely on to do things are going
- 28:58Speaker 1: to get more and more taxed, more and more strained.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Who's going to pay the fire department if basically people
- 29:04Speaker 1: start abandoning their homes? I'm noticing more and more for
- 29:08Speaker 1: sale signs go up as I'm driving. You know, during
- 29:12Speaker 1: the 2020 onset of COVID, houses would sell in five
- 29:17Speaker 1: minutes because basically people were running out of New York.
- 29:20Speaker 1: They thought that Connecticut would be a cleaner environment. But
- 29:23Speaker 1: now I'm seeing houses. I mean, you know, I can
- 29:24Speaker 1: pop for just sit there. I just go by the
- 29:26Speaker 1: signs like thing hasn't sold yet. What the hell's going on?
- 29:30Speaker 1: But basically, when you start to see foreclosures, you start
- 29:34Speaker 1: to see a drop in revenue who will pay the fire,
- 29:37Speaker 1: who will pay the police, who will pay the people
- 29:39Speaker 1: to fix. the roads, it's going to become a situation
- 29:43Speaker 1: where you've got to pick it up on your own.
- 29:45Speaker 1: So I hand that to you not in fear, but remember,
- 29:47Speaker 1: forewarned is forearmed. Anyway, 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. Tony

- 35:45Speaker 9: a view from the Lone Red Sea. Here he is,
- 35:49Speaker 9: Bob Lazari.
- 35:51Speaker 1: 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. We turn to the wide
- 35:55Speaker 1: world of sports and our pal Bob Lazari. Hey, Bob,
- 35:59Speaker 1: how are you?
- 36:00Speaker 27: I'm good, Tony. How are you?
- 36:01Speaker 1: Okay, thanks. Coming in loud and clear, wherever you want
- 36:04Speaker 1: to go, man.
- 36:04Speaker 41: Yeah, Tony, let's start with birthdays today, because on this
- 36:08Speaker 41: day in history, we're going to concentrate on the Mets
- 36:10Speaker 41: a bit later. But let's talk about birthdays. Born on
- 36:13Speaker 41: this day, Tony, believe it or not, Ralph Kiner.
- 36:16Speaker 42: Oh, Mr.
- 36:17Speaker 27: Kiner.
- 36:18Speaker 41: Now, Tony, Ralph Kiner led the league in home runs
- 36:21Speaker 41: seven years in a row, including his rookie year. That
- 36:25Speaker 41: hasn't happened much in history. And that's why he's a
- 36:28Speaker 41: Hall of Favor. But you used to tell me stories, Tony,
- 36:30Speaker 41: about seeing him in Stanford and Greenwich, right?
- 36:33Speaker 1: His daughter actually interned for us. This is going back
- 36:37Speaker 1: years and years and years. And he would show up
- 36:40Speaker 1: to pick her up. This was actually in the old
- 36:42Speaker 1: Fawcett Publications in Greenwich, you know, my first quote-unquote real job.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And he had an old cream-colored antique Porsche. And the
- 36:51Speaker 1: license plate was Homer 55. I guess that was his...
- 36:56Speaker 1: He won the Homer title. And, Bob, he was a
- 36:59Speaker 1: huge man, huge hands, beat red face cigar, kind of grumbled.
- 37:04Speaker 1: And from what I understand, he loved to play his
- 37:07Speaker 1: golf and then loved to have a few belts and
- 37:10Speaker 1: just a general good time guy. I learned a lot
- 37:13Speaker 1: of vocabulary words from him. I mean, he would always
- 37:16Speaker 1: use words like ephemeral and things like, what would he say,
- 37:24Speaker 1: the vicissitudes of baseball. And it's like, what the heck
- 37:28Speaker 1: does that mean? So I'd have to get up off
- 37:29Speaker 1: the floor. I'd have to go get the World Book Dictionary,
- 37:32Speaker 1: open it up and say, okay, what does that word mean?
- 37:34Speaker 1: But yeah, he... Who says.
- 37:37Speaker 41: Sports isn't education? That's terrific, Tony. I mean, Kiner, we
- 37:43Speaker 41: remember him well after his playing days. Kiner's corner after
- 37:47Speaker 41: Met Home Games and the interviews were tremendous. And it
- 37:50Speaker 41: gave you a chance to see the out-of-town guys that you...
- 37:53Speaker 41: look forward to.
- 37:54Speaker 1: And he was, he was a great interviewer. Like the
- 37:57Speaker 1: interviews with he and Seaver after a game were, were
- 37:59Speaker 1: so highly technical because Connor would say, what were you
- 38:03Speaker 1: thinking on this count? And, and Seaver, who is a
- 38:05Speaker 1: very intelligent cerebral man, he was an engineer would say, well,
- 38:09Speaker 1: you know, it was, uh, I was trying to come
- 38:12Speaker 1: an inch off the plate. I didn't, he got a
- 38:14Speaker 1: single off of me, but I was able to come
- 38:16Speaker 1: back on the next pitch. You figure like athletes, it's
- 38:19Speaker 1: always like the thing of, you know, athletes are dumb,
- 38:21Speaker 1: but you know, Seaver was not that, That's for sure.
- 38:24Speaker 41: Another birthday today, Tony. Do you remember Mike Lum of
- 38:27Speaker 41: the Atlanta Braves?
- 38:28Speaker 43: I sure do.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I sure do.
- 38:30Speaker 41: He's from Honolulu, Hawaii.
- 38:31Speaker 3: That's right.
- 38:32Speaker 41: One of the first, if not the first, from Hawaii
- 38:35Speaker 41: to play in the major leagues. And did for 15 years.
- 38:37Speaker 41: But he cashed a lot of paychecks, Tony, with the
- 38:40Speaker 41: Atlanta Braves back in the day. So he celebrates today.
- 38:43Speaker 41: Pete Vukovic, Tony, you and I had talked about the
- 38:47Speaker 41: Harvey's Wallbangers recently. He was a member of that 82
- 38:50Speaker 41: Brewer team.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Yes, he was.
- 38:52Speaker 27: In fact.
- 38:53Speaker 41: We didn't even mention him, Tony. He won the Cy
- 38:55Speaker 41: Young that year.
- 38:56Speaker 1: He sure did.
- 38:57Speaker 5: 18-6.
- 38:58Speaker 1: He sure did.
- 39:00Speaker 41: And he had a couple good years in St. Louis,
- 39:02Speaker 41: and he was a great pitcher. He just, again, like
- 39:05Speaker 41: another guy I'm going to mention in a minute, arm
- 39:07Speaker 41: problems kind of, you know, by the age of 30.
- 39:09Speaker 41: These guys were done back then. But Pupukovic is 74
- 39:13Speaker 41: years old today. Here's the other guy, Tony, Bill Travers.
- 39:16Speaker 41: He pitched for the Brewers, too.
- 39:18Speaker 1: In the 70s.
- 39:19Speaker 41: He won 15 games. It was an all-star in 76.
- 39:24Speaker 41: Had a tremendous ERA. But hurt his arm, Tony, at
- 39:28Speaker 41: the age of 27. Went to California, was horrific. Tried
- 39:31Speaker 41: to come back a couple years, just couldn't do it.
- 39:34Speaker 41: And it's too bad, again, the medicine wasn't like it
- 39:36Speaker 41: is now. So Bill Travers, he's also 74 years old today, Tony.
- 39:42Speaker 41: Let's see who else we have. Bip Roberts, Tony. This
- 39:45Speaker 41: guy was a very valuable player. I mean, I looked
- 39:48Speaker 41: at his numbers, Tony. This is the guy who played
- 39:50Speaker 41: 12 years in the major leagues, Padres, a few other teams.
- 39:54Speaker 41: But he was one of these guys you would want
- 39:57Speaker 41: on a team, and Lee and I talk about it
- 39:59Speaker 41: all the time, probably wouldn't make a team now because
- 40:01Speaker 41: he didn't have the home run numbers and the strikeout total.
- 40:04Speaker 41: He hit. 294 for a career, Tony, and never struck
- 40:08Speaker 41: out more than 70 times. You know, was one of
- 40:11Speaker 41: these guys who could play a lot of different positions. And,
- 40:14Speaker 41: you know, he was one of those guys, one of
- 40:16Speaker 41: my favorite kind of players.
- 40:17Speaker 27: Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 41: Bip Roberts, 63 years old, born in Berkeley, California. Brad Radke, Tony,
- 40:23Speaker 41: the former Twins pitcher. I believe you and I saw
- 40:26Speaker 41: him pitch at Yankee Stadium.
- 40:27Speaker 1: We did.
- 40:28Speaker 41: Back in the early 2000s. He had a good career,
- 40:30Speaker 41: 148 wins, made a few all-star teams. Brad Radke celebrates today.
- 40:37Speaker 41: And Martin Prado is another guy, Tony, like Bip Roberts.
- 40:41Speaker 41: You know, one of these guys could play a bunch
- 40:43Speaker 41: of different positions. 287 lifetime, played a lot of years
- 40:47Speaker 41: in Atlanta, then Miami toward the end, but never hit
- 40:50Speaker 41: home runs. But he never struck out and probably wouldn't
- 40:53Speaker 41: make a team now because he was fundamentally sound, right?
- 40:56Speaker 41: So he celebrates a birthday today. As far as NFL birthdays, Tony,
- 41:01Speaker 41: born on this day, 1928.
- 41:02Speaker 44: Kyle Roach.
- 41:05Speaker 43: Kyle Rote with the Giants, right?
- 41:07Speaker 41: Do you remember? Well, you wouldn't remember him playing, obviously,
- 41:09Speaker 41: but this guy, after his career was over, I remember
- 41:12Speaker 41: he got into a little broadcasting too, right?
- 41:14Speaker 1: He did, yeah. He was on NBC. You know, curiously,
- 41:17Speaker 1: you mentioned that. I actually went to Kyle Rote at
- 41:20Speaker 1: Yankee Stadium. I don't remember it. I was five years old.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I was in the bleachers. I was screaming my guts out.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I wanted to go home, but that was his last
- 41:28Speaker 1: game as an active player, and then that was actually
- 41:32Speaker 1: kind of Gifford's, Frank Gifford's, His entree into broadcasting, I
- 41:38Speaker 1: had a Frank Gifford clip on the way in this
- 41:40Speaker 1: morning in the open.
- 41:42Speaker 41: Very similar player to Gifford.
- 41:44Speaker 43: He played end, halfback, could do a lot.
- 41:47Speaker 41: Of things on the football field. But he was born
- 41:49Speaker 41: on this day in 1928. Peerless price, Tony, a wide
- 41:55Speaker 41: receiver for the Buffalo Bills mostly. Had a good career,
- 41:58Speaker 41: over 5,000 yards receiving.
- 42:00Speaker 27: He turns 50 today.
- 42:03Speaker 41: Jim Leonard, former defensive back for the Jets and Buffalo Bills,
- 42:07Speaker 41: had a nice NFL career.
- 42:09Speaker 34: He's 44 today.
- 42:10Speaker 41: And John Casey, who kicked forever, Tony, with the Carolina Panthers,
- 42:15Speaker 41: he turns 57 today. On this date, Tony, this is
- 42:18Speaker 41: the big thing we're going to get to today. Well,
- 42:21Speaker 41: first of all, let's go back to 1963. This is
- 42:22Speaker 41: when Gordie Howe scored the 544th career goal of his
- 42:25Speaker 41: career today. against the Canadians. This tied Maurice Richard's all-time
- 42:35Speaker 41: record at the time, and that's been annihilated by Gretzky
- 42:39Speaker 41: and others by now. But that happened in 1963. 1985, Tony,
- 42:46Speaker 41: this is a familiar thing. The Yankee, Billy Martin was
- 42:48Speaker 41: fired for the fourth.
- 42:50Speaker 43: Time by the Yankees. You and I, every time we talk.
- 42:52Speaker 41: It's an anniversary of him getting fired.
- 42:54Speaker 27: That happened, say, in 1985.
- 42:55Speaker 41: But 86, Tony, is the big one. This is the
- 42:59Speaker 41: day the Mets won the World Series. They beat the
- 43:02Speaker 41: Red Sox 8-5. They won four games to three, Tony. Now,
- 43:06Speaker 41: this 86 team, I was doing a little research this morning, Tony.
- 43:10Speaker 41: They never got the credit. Obviously, they won the World
- 43:12Speaker 41: Series and everything, but I think a lot of people
- 43:14Speaker 41: still looked at them as, you know, the amazons, the underdogs. Well,
- 43:18Speaker 41: if you look at their roster, Tony, it was so
- 43:21Speaker 41: deep and balanced. I think they had, like, 11 guys
- 43:24Speaker 41: that drove in more than 40 runs. Obviously, they had Carter, Strawberry.
- 43:28Speaker 41: Fernandez but I mean the rest of that team they
- 43:31Speaker 41: were just the chemistry was incredible on that team and
- 43:34Speaker 41: during that game seven Tony you had four and a
- 43:37Speaker 41: third hit list innings thrown by Sid Fernandez and Jesse
- 43:42Speaker 41: Orozco and that kind of closed it out it was
- 43:44Speaker 41: a weird game you know McDowell who was their closer
- 43:47Speaker 41: came in and didn't have it so Dave Johnson took
- 43:51Speaker 41: control and just went with what he had and uh
- 43:53Speaker 41: but that team Tony what do you remember remember about them.
- 43:56Speaker 1: To that team It was a lot of fun back then.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I mean, I remember Tim Tuffle because we had, of course,
- 44:02Speaker 1: played against him. He was so much better than the
- 44:04Speaker 1: rest of us. You just realized he was going to
- 44:06Speaker 1: go places. This kid was absolutely insane. But, you know,
- 44:10Speaker 1: Davy Johnson, to me, never got the credit as a
- 44:12Speaker 1: great historical manager in baseball. He was ahead of his time.
- 44:19Speaker 1: He was using computers and statistics and probability. He actually
- 44:23Speaker 1: was kind of like the– I guess they credit Billy
- 44:27Speaker 1: Bean with the whole, you know, Billy Ball and percentages
- 44:31Speaker 1: and all that. But Davy Johnson was actually ahead of him.
- 44:33Speaker 1: But speaking of getting ahead, my producer's cursing me out. So, Bob,
- 44:38Speaker 1: I'm going to have to end this. So where do
- 44:42Speaker 1: we see you? Where do we find you?
- 44:43Speaker 41: You could go on X, Tony. A lot of the
- 44:45Speaker 41: interviews and birthdays we mentioned will be posted there. That's
- 44:49Speaker 41: the best spot.
- 44:50Speaker 1: That's great, Bob. Thanks so much.
- 44:52Speaker 41: Talk soon, Tony.

- 45:55Speaker 48: President Trump's never worked with anyone else, and he endorsed him. Now,

- 46:03Speaker 49: And we're going to defeat the radical left Democrats and
- 46:06Speaker 49: elect a Republican House and a Republican Senate.
- 46:09Speaker 48: Today, he'll campaign in Texas as Democrats run an anti-Trump
- 46:12Speaker 48: campaign amid the president's low approval poll numbers. A month
- 46:15Speaker 48: after arrests were made in a potential terror case at
- 46:18Speaker 48: a U.S.-operated air base.
- 46:19Speaker 7: In England, the first charges have been filed under the U.K.
- 46:22Speaker 48: 's National Security Act, and two men are due in
- 46:24Speaker 48: court today. One's an Iranian national accused of assisting Iran's
- 46:28Speaker 48: intelligence service. also arrested as that investigation continues. Former FBI
- 46:34Speaker 48: director and Trump critic James Comey could face more criminal charges.
- 46:38Speaker 48: He's already accused of threatening the president with a 8647
- 46:42Speaker 48: seashell formation on a beach he posted online.
- 46:45Speaker 22: In a newly unsealed court filing, federal prosecutors accused former
- 46:49Speaker 22: FBI director James Comey of disclosing classified information in 2016.
- 46:54Speaker 22: Comey reacting on his Instagram account.
- 46:57Speaker 7: Nothing's changed with me.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid of these people.
- 47:00Speaker 7: And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary.
- 47:03Speaker 22: The Justice Department is seeking to use a maneuver to

- 47:08Speaker 48: Fox's Jared Halbern at the White House at the World Series,
- 47:10Speaker 48: a sweep, maybe brewing.
- 47:12Speaker 7: And we're going to defeat the radical.
- 47:14Speaker 48: Cooper Pratt and the Milwaukee Brewers had a big offensive barrage.
- 47:18Speaker 48: Beating the Rays is 10 to 1. Milwaukee now leads

- 48:47Speaker 32: officials are investigating. A person suffered serious injuries yesterday after

- 50:35Speaker 1: Tony D'Angelo here on really the second to the last
- 50:39Speaker 1: of my temporary Tuesdays. And this is a segment you've
- 50:43Speaker 1: all come to know and love, making it hurt. And
- 50:48Speaker 1: it's the Power Hour with Professor Bob Swick. Bob, how
- 50:51Speaker 1: are you this morning? Hello, Bob. Hello, Bob.
- 50:58Speaker 27: Tony.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Yeah, hi, Bob. And how are you this morning? Where
- 51:01Speaker 1: would you like to begin?
- 51:02Speaker 27: Okay, Tony. I want to get a little off script
- 51:07Speaker 27: because I'm overwhelmed with the Connecticut Citizens Assembly. And a
- 51:16Speaker 27: lot of people don't know that this was an assembly
- 51:19Speaker 27: created through the guidance of our comptroller, Sean Scanlon, to
- 51:26Speaker 27: discuss property tax relief in the state, revenue sources, property
- 51:32Speaker 27: tax increases, so on and so forth. And this group
- 51:36Speaker 27: of individuals, a hundred apparently random picked individuals, and I've
- 51:41Speaker 27: been looking at, I've been studying this from last night
- 51:43Speaker 27: to this morning, because they came out with a proposal
- 51:49Speaker 27: that they come up with some ideas for property tax relief,
- 51:54Speaker 27: so on and so forth. So Here was their proposal
- 51:58Speaker 27: that was issued a couple days ago, and I just
- 52:01Speaker 27: picked this up last night. I was shocked by it.
- 52:04Speaker 27: But they are going to recommend that state lawmakers consider
- 52:08Speaker 27: tolls and a new tax on wealthy people. Those wealthy
- 52:14Speaker 27: people are those people who earn $ 1 million or more
- 52:17Speaker 27: a year to bring around statewide property tax relief. Isn't
- 52:22Speaker 27: that amazing? Oh, yeah. So we have a situation where
- 52:29Speaker 27: we have what looked like to me, and reading some
- 52:32Speaker 27: of the people who are on this committee, including Sean Scanlon,
- 52:36Speaker 27: are the most liberal-thinking, woke-thinking individuals in the state who
- 52:44Speaker 27: can only surmise that the only way we're going to
- 52:48Speaker 27: do anything with property taxes in the state of Connecticut
- 52:51Speaker 27: is by just creating other taxes to support the property tax.
- 52:55Speaker 27: While the property tax, in theory, will go down, which
- 52:58Speaker 27: I don't think it will, it'll just be a new
- 53:00Speaker 27: revenue source for the state so that it can spend
- 53:03Speaker 27: more money at the same time. It's just mind-boggling to
- 53:08Speaker 27: just view the overstretch of government in so many different
- 53:15Speaker 27: ways of our lives and the overtaxation of individuals, of businesses,
- 53:21Speaker 27: and of the state It just defies logic. And to
- 53:24Speaker 27: tie in with your opening monologue this morning, which, you know,
- 53:27Speaker 27: people are aghast that the communists in New York City
- 53:33Speaker 27: would pass something like that. Well, that's what they're there for.
- 53:37Speaker 27: They want control of every aspect of the society, of
- 53:41Speaker 27: the economy. They will take care of themselves and the
- 53:44Speaker 27: people who are politically connected. They will take care of
- 53:48Speaker 27: the DSA people, so on and so forth, and you,
- 53:51Speaker 27: the worker, you're going to work for the state. You're
- 53:53Speaker 27: going to work for the city. You're going to work
- 53:54Speaker 27: for government. That's what the long-run goal is of socialism
- 54:00Speaker 27: and communism. That's it in plain English. So you have
- 54:05Speaker 27: a situation with this assembly, with this thought group that
- 54:08Speaker 27: is created to present a skewed view of what They
- 54:14Speaker 27: want to see in the state, okay, we need revenue.
- 54:16Speaker 27: We don't spend enough money in the state of Connecticut
- 54:18Speaker 27: for whatever reason. We do not spend enough money in
- 54:22Speaker 27: the state of Connecticut. We have the same problems over
- 54:24Speaker 27: and over again. We have $ 100 to $ 150 billion in
- 54:28Speaker 27: short and long-term debt, along with unfunded liabilities. But we
- 54:32Speaker 27: do not spend enough money on what? What are we
- 54:37Speaker 27: spending the money on, and what are the results we're getting?
- 54:39Speaker 27: It's something we've talked about for years now. It's no different.
- 54:43Speaker 27: So now, right before the election, this assembly comes up
- 54:46Speaker 27: with this idea, and I'm saying to myself, I would
- 54:50Speaker 27: like to run as far as humanly possible from this
- 54:54Speaker 27: state and from its commissions and its government and so
- 54:58Speaker 27: on and so forth, because it's just so out of
- 55:01Speaker 27: touch with any economic reality possible. It doesn't make sense whatsoever.
- 55:08Speaker 27: So again, we're going to have tolls. on the highways,
- 55:13Speaker 27: let's tax truckers a little more. So the cost of
- 55:17Speaker 27: our living was going to go up substantially. The property
- 55:20Speaker 27: tax relief is going to be nonexistent in a year
- 55:23Speaker 27: or two because they're going to have to raise taxes,
- 55:25Speaker 27: so on and so forth.
- 55:27Speaker 34: It's just so laughable.
- 55:29Speaker 27: Let's increase taxes on the wealthy and so let them
- 55:33Speaker 27: move out of the state as fast as possible because
- 55:35Speaker 27: they don't want to pay any more in taxes than
- 55:37Speaker 27: what they're paying now. It's just incredible, truly incredible.
- 55:42Speaker 1: A little bit of historical background, if you will. When
- 55:47Speaker 1: I saw that the Comptroller, Grand High Mystic, Exalted Brewer,
- 55:52Speaker 1: and all the ships at sea was forming this group,
- 55:55Speaker 1: I actually went to him and I said, I would
- 55:58Speaker 1: like to be on it. And I know others would
- 56:01Speaker 1: like to be on it because, I mean, is it
- 56:03Speaker 1: not that we want the right answer? I don't think
- 56:07Speaker 1: any of us have all of the answers. I mean,
- 56:10Speaker 1: the person that thinks he has all of the answers,
- 56:13Speaker 1: walk as far away from him as you possibly can.
- 56:15Speaker 1: And you know, some of them, and I know some
- 56:17Speaker 1: of them, uh, they're the ones that constantly point fingers
- 56:19Speaker 1: at us and say that we don't know what we're
- 56:21Speaker 1: talking about. That all said, uh, he said to me, uh, no, Tony,
- 56:25Speaker 1: he was very polite to me. And he said, this
- 56:27Speaker 1: is a group that's formed entirely at random. Now I
- 56:31Speaker 1: might've struggled out of junior college statistics because I was
- 56:35Speaker 1: a Ripawam High School. I'm wearing the jacket today. My
- 56:40Speaker 1: Ripawam High School remedial math days. But yet, I recognized
- 56:44Speaker 1: one thing. When you have a probability of something, the
- 56:49Speaker 1: probability is that you have a.
- 56:55Speaker 1: The outcome will not be all one thing. You're going
- 56:59Speaker 1: to have smatterings of different opinions, perhaps smaller proportions and
- 57:03Speaker 1: larger proportions, and, and, and. If What Mr. Scanlon said
- 57:07Speaker 1: was truthful. This is the first time in human events
- 57:12Speaker 1: that a group randomly, randomly without any, shall we say,
- 57:18Speaker 1: bid rigging or structuring, came out pretty much with this
- 57:22Speaker 1: harmonious conclusion of let us raise taxes that's probably a
- 57:27Speaker 1: better harmony than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. This is unbelievable.
- 57:30Speaker 1: And basically what it is, we've just proved this is
- 57:33Speaker 1: a freaking farce.
- 57:37Speaker 27: It's beyond a first. I mean, it's just utterly ridiculous.
- 57:43Speaker 27: And looking at the people who were supposedly randomly selected,
- 57:48Speaker 27: they weren't randomly selected.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Of course not.
- 57:50Speaker 27: It was a skewed result to get what they wanted
- 57:54Speaker 27: out of it. We want to get another tax source
- 57:57Speaker 27: of tax revenue. What else can be taxed in the
- 58:00Speaker 27: state of Connecticut? Well, tolls, tolls, tolls. That is the key.
- 58:05Speaker 27: You know, once you get tolls on the highway, you're
- 58:08Speaker 27: in great shape because the tolls will never go away,
- 58:11Speaker 27: the tolls will never go down, so on and so forth.
- 58:14Speaker 27: But again, there's no comprehension of the economic problems that
- 58:20Speaker 27: other taxes create in the state of Connecticut.
- 58:24Speaker 2: None.
- 58:24Speaker 27: Everyone in the state of Connecticut who is in state government,
- 58:27Speaker 27: who's involved in the economy, should go back to school
- 58:30Speaker 27: and take a basic macroeconomics class and microeconomics class. And
- 58:34Speaker 27: understand what they are doing basically breaks the entire world
- 58:42Speaker 27: of economics in by increasing taxes resolves all the issues.
- 58:47Speaker 27: It has not done anything to resolve the issues in
- 58:49Speaker 27: the state of Connecticut. I go back to what I
- 58:52Speaker 27: said numerous times. Why does a state as small as
- 58:56Speaker 27: Connecticut spend as much money as it does? It's beyond comprehension.
- 59:01Speaker 27: Don't you think, and you do, and many other people
- 59:05Speaker 27: listening do, don't you feel, don't you think that the
- 59:08Speaker 27: state could cut spending somewhere, somehow, that there are ways
- 59:13Speaker 27: to cut spending and actually lower taxes to create economic
- 59:18Speaker 27: stimulation in the state? That is just a forbidden thought
- 59:22Speaker 27: in the state of Connecticut. That's a forbidden thought with
- 59:25Speaker 27: the Connecticut Democratic Party by all means. We want to
- 59:28Speaker 27: tax people. We want them to be happy paying taxes.
- 59:31Speaker 27: We want them to pay more taxes. We want to
- 59:34Speaker 27: spend more money. We want to resolve our political philosophy
- 59:38Speaker 27: so that it is cemented in the state that you're
- 59:42Speaker 27: going to listen to us. We run the state. Our
- 59:44Speaker 27: political cronies are taken care of, so on and so forth.
- 59:47Speaker 27: It's so ridiculous, it's not even funny.
- 59:51Speaker 1: It is not a stretch of the imagination for the
- 59:54Speaker 1: Citizens Assembly to somehow become a working group Shall we
- 59:59Speaker 1: say housing and affordability? And it is not a stretch
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: of the imagination. And people might say I have no imagination.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: It's not a stretch of even my limited imagination for
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: the same group to say, well, a very easy way to,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: quote unquote, fix housing and affordability. is to quote-unquote have this,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: as we discussed this morning, this right of first refusal
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: in housing. And anybody selling a building has got to
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: take this through a big brother in the holding company.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: And we will, of course, when we do that. Now,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: this is a thing, and I didn't consider this, but
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: you know the way government works. It's like, well, if
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I want to sell a building to you that meets
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: compliance codes and local codes and that, that, that, and
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: it passes title and here we go, the government inserting
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: itself saying is, well, We want to have other improvements here. Now,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: of course, we're good guys. We'll pay for them. You know,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: we want to make sure that we've got enough of
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: this or enough of that or perhaps your ramp isn't
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: big enough or perhaps you need more signage. It all
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: depends largely on what crony on what food chain needs
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: what job at what point once you get through all that.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: And so you sit in there six months, nine months,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: they get the stupid signs up yet that they get
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: the railings up yet. And, and, and, and, and this
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: is where this, I mean, I'm, I'm talking to you
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: now and listen, I'm not spiritual, but, or I am
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: spiritual or I am whatever I am. I'm seeing where
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: this all leads to. This is like this whole thing
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: of the, you know, we will create a perpetual underclass
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: because they're calling themselves an underclass. I'm not calling them
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: an underclass. They're calling themselves an underclass. And we will
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: look for the moneyed people to support us. It does
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: not dawn on them that what happens if the moneyed
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: people say, screw you turkeys, I'm running out of town,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: eat it and suck on the fumes. Listen, please say something.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: I'm about to start cursing.
- 1:01:52Speaker 27: Well, here, again, here's the issue that Connecticut taxpayers need
- 1:01:57Speaker 27: to wake up to. They need to resoundingly tell their
- 1:02:02Speaker 27: elected officials, both Democrat and Republican, and they need to,
- 1:02:06Speaker 27: you know, Text them now, call them now, email them now,
- 1:02:09Speaker 27: and just say, I am vehemently against this assembly work
- 1:02:15Speaker 27: of trying to raise taxes on wealthy people and raising
- 1:02:21Speaker 27: revenue through tolls. I am vehemently against it. I refuse
- 1:02:25Speaker 27: to accept this. And I think Connecticut taxpayers, again, need
- 1:02:30Speaker 27: to forcibly state that Increasing taxes does not do anything
- 1:02:37Speaker 27: for me anymore. It is not improving my quality of life,
- 1:02:41Speaker 27: my way of life here. It's forcing me to make
- 1:02:44Speaker 27: economic decisions, which down the road are going to lead
- 1:02:47Speaker 27: to moving out of the state of Connecticut and moving
- 1:02:50Speaker 27: to a lower-tax state and having a better way of life,
- 1:02:54Speaker 27: a better life for myself and my family, so on
- 1:02:57Speaker 27: and so forth. And I think Connecticut, again, depending on
- 1:03:01Speaker 27: the way this election runs, And I personally believe it's
- 1:03:05Speaker 27: a lot closer than what the media is trying to say.
- 1:03:09Speaker 27: I really believe that it is a strong turning point
- 1:03:14Speaker 27: for the state that if you're going to go the
- 1:03:16Speaker 27: same way you're going to go along, good night. Because
- 1:03:19Speaker 27: you're going to have tax upon tax upon tax upon
- 1:03:23Speaker 27: higher tax. You're going to have increased spending. You're just
- 1:03:27Speaker 27: going to have just an economic free-for-all and an economic free-fall.
- 1:03:33Speaker 27: As far as businesses are concerned, trying to move out
- 1:03:35Speaker 27: of state, so on and so forth. You know, taxpayers
- 1:03:38Speaker 27: and voters have got to really wake up to the
- 1:03:40Speaker 27: economic consequences of an unchecked system that just believes in
- 1:03:45Speaker 27: tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend. It's
- 1:03:47Speaker 27: not working. It's failing miserably. Get out of it as
- 1:03:50Speaker 27: a bottom feeder in so many different ways, it's not
- 1:03:53Speaker 27: even funny. This is just, you know, a classic example
- 1:03:57Speaker 27: of government overreach. And as you said, the next step is, okay,
- 1:04:01Speaker 27: we've got to have housing affordability. I think your property
- 1:04:04Speaker 27: could be divided into two, the two acres you own,
- 1:04:07Speaker 27: and I think one acre we could put some, you know,
- 1:04:10Speaker 27: four or five closet huts, for example, or shell houses,
- 1:04:16Speaker 27: and get some people there to live that are affordable.
- 1:04:19Speaker 27: You don't need two acres. You don't need an acre.
- 1:04:22Speaker 27: You don't need that property that was in your family
- 1:04:24Speaker 27: for 300 years, so on and so forth. You know,
- 1:04:27Speaker 27: it's time to really wake up once.
- 1:04:29Speaker 43: And for all.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: It's... And this is the thing. And, you know, in
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: the time we've been blessed to do this segment, multiple
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: thousands listen, multiple thousands watch on Rumble. We've got people
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: watching all over the country. Again, I wave to you.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you very much, sincerely. And it's telling
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: the truth. Now, that said. Every person wearing a Republican
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: uniform should be up screaming and yelling and assaulting this thing.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Wait until the show's over. Wait until 9 o'clock. But
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: this should be like job number one. Stop this mess.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Stop it now. You are wrestling the last vestiges of
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: private property. from the enfeebled property owners of, you know,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island. It's like, this is, I mean,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I'm seeing this quote-unquote as a, you know, an initiative
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: from the, whatever you want to call it, the Mondami
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: playbook or the Alinsky playbook or the communist playbook, because
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: this is where they're headed. You have to do for
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: me because I can't do for myself. Of course I
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: can't do for myself. The only reason I can do
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: is if I tax you and tax you into oblivion,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Then I'm out of somebody's blood to suck, and then
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: we're Paris, France.
- 1:05:51Speaker 27: Exactly. And I think the Democrats need to be called
- 1:05:54Speaker 27: out within the remaining days of the election.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Badly.
- 1:05:58Speaker 42: Badly.
- 1:05:59Speaker 27: They have to be called out, and they have to say,
- 1:06:02Speaker 27: show me I'm a taxpayer, and I have probably 40%
- 1:06:06Speaker 27: to 50% of my income go to local, state, and
- 1:06:09Speaker 27: federal taxes. Show me locally and in the state. area
- 1:06:15Speaker 27: of taxation lamping, show me what I'm getting for my money.
- 1:06:19Speaker 27: I don't feel safe because we have rampant crime in
- 1:06:22Speaker 27: the state. I don't feel safe at 10 o'clock at
- 1:06:24Speaker 27: night buying gas on the way home from my second
- 1:06:27Speaker 27: job because I'm worried about some thugs hijacking my car
- 1:06:33Speaker 27: and knowing afterwards that they've had probably 20 warrants out
- 1:06:36Speaker 27: for their arrest and they can't get these people. Show
- 1:06:40Speaker 27: me where my educational money is going on a local level.
- 1:06:44Speaker 27: Show me how my children are getting an unbiased education
- 1:06:47Speaker 27: that's preparing themselves for a career, preparing themselves for the
- 1:06:51Speaker 27: real world.
- 1:06:53Speaker 34: Show me this stuff.
- 1:06:54Speaker 27: Please show me this stuff. If you're a Democrat, show
- 1:06:57Speaker 27: me where my money is going. Prove to me that
- 1:07:01Speaker 27: my taxes are actually doing something for my good, for
- 1:07:05Speaker 27: my betterment. I don't see it now. I really don't
- 1:07:08Speaker 27: see this. today in 2026 in the state of Connecticut whatsoever.
- 1:07:12Speaker 27: I just think, again, it's basically, you know, do whatever
- 1:07:18Speaker 27: you want, spend whatever you want, tax whatever you want.
- 1:07:22Speaker 27: We are the leaders. We are the leaders of the world.
- 1:07:24Speaker 27: We are in charge. This utopian socialism that we're shoving
- 1:07:30Speaker 27: on everybody, shoving down everybody's throat is just, you know,
- 1:07:34Speaker 27: the most wonderful thing in the world. It's ruining the state.
- 1:07:39Speaker 27: It's ruining the tri-state area. Yes, it is.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I can remember, this is going back 20 years ago,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: 25 years ago, back in the pre-computer networking days, and
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I had people, I had a lot of clients in
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: their 70s and their 80s who were living in their homes,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: paying their taxes, nice homes, and they maybe needed some updating.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: They'd put their kids through school. And they're paying these,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: you know, very, at the time, proportionally large income taxes.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: They'd say to me, Tony, why am I still paying
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: income taxes? Because I sent my kids to school. And
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: I said, well, that's basically the thing is that everybody
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: contributes so you can have a good school system so
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: that when you go to sell your house, people will
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: want to come. Now, here I am. I'm approaching that
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: age perimeter. I'm saying, well, how much money have I
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: given upon for through the years? And I never sent
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: a kid to school. I'm not going to send a
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: kid to school. And I'm not in that income bracket,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you that right now. But basically it's like
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: you want me to pay more for something I'm not receiving.
- 1:08:44Speaker 27: And you're barely receiving fire service and police protection.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:08:49Speaker 27: And you're barely receiving any services from the town. So
- 1:08:54Speaker 27: how much more do you want to spend in property
- 1:08:57Speaker 27: taxes that you, basically have created this formula in the
- 1:09:02Speaker 27: state so that the local communities, cities, and towns can
- 1:09:08Speaker 27: continue to raise property taxes because, A, we can create
- 1:09:11Speaker 27: more governmental jobs, we can create a better pension system
- 1:09:16Speaker 27: for our local employees, we can do this, we can
- 1:09:18Speaker 27: do that. For us, Not so much for the town,
- 1:09:22Speaker 27: but for us. And at what point does it break?
- 1:09:25Speaker 27: At what point does the local property tax owner say, hey,
- 1:09:28Speaker 27: I've had enough. I'm done with this. I'm not paying
- 1:09:31Speaker 27: it anymore. That's what it comes down to. That's basically it.
- 1:09:36Speaker 27: These things like the Citizens Assembly, which is such a joke,
- 1:09:41Speaker 27: which is so pathetic of an attempt to steal more
- 1:09:44Speaker 27: money from the Connecticut taxpayer. It's just... It's just beyond belief.
- 1:09:48Speaker 27: It's just beyond belief. And looking at the people on
- 1:09:51Speaker 27: this committee, there is a person who is the actual
- 1:09:55Speaker 27: cyber ambassador of Taiwan, an Audrey Tang. What in the
- 1:10:02Speaker 27: name of the Lord does she have anything to do
- 1:10:05Speaker 27: with property taxes in the state of Connecticut is beyond me.
- 1:10:09Speaker 34: I mean, seriously.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and we'll catch up with that. We're coming up
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: on a break. But I just want to tell you,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: in 90 minutes, in 90 minutes, we have given Republicans
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: two big tools in this toolbox. Number one, what is
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: the Democrat thinking about the right of first refusal? And

- 1:19:59Speaker 53: Brought to you by Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, where

- 1:20:06Speaker 53: Milwaukee Brewers made a point by winning games by scoring
- 1:20:09Speaker 53: a ton of runs without hitting a ton of home runs.
- 1:20:12Speaker 53: In fact, they scored the second most runs in the
- 1:20:14Speaker 53: sport this year and hit the second fewest amount of
- 1:20:17Speaker 53: homers in the process. And last night in the fifth
- 1:20:20Speaker 53: inning of Game 3 of the World Series, they exploded
- 1:20:23Speaker 53: doing exactly that. The Brew Crew scored a World Series record.
- 1:20:27Speaker 53: Eight runs with two outs during a fifth inning rally
- 1:20:30Speaker 53: last night. Burying Tampa with a 10-1 win and seizing
- 1:20:34Speaker 53: a 3-0 lead in the World Series. One victory away
- 1:20:38Speaker 53: from the first championship in Brewers history. And if Milwaukee

- 1:20:45Speaker 53: Big Red Machine Cincinnati Reds as the only teams to
- 1:20:48Speaker 53: sweep both the LCS and the World Series. With more

- 1:21:16Speaker 32: yesterday after being run over by machinery near Providence Pike
- 1:21:20Speaker 32: in Putnam. An off-duty state trooper applied two tourniquets before
- 1:21:25Speaker 32: emergency crews arrived. The victim was airlifted to UMass Memorial

- 1:22:01Speaker 32: who faces multiple charges, including home invasion and assaults. He
- 1:22:05Speaker 32: was held on a $ 100, 000 bond. Authorities are investigating the
- 1:22:09Speaker 32: death of 83-year-old Christopher Andrews, whose body was found along
- 1:22:13Speaker 32: the shoreline near Ram Island in Mystic Harbor. A vessel

- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I'm Sean Murphy.
- 1:22:26Speaker 32: When news breaks, we break in.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Back with the Power Hour 94.9 news and stimulating talk. D'Angelo, Swick,
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: and Bob, my head is spinning. Take it anywhere you
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: want to go, man.
- 1:22:53Speaker 27: I got another point I got to make with the assembly.
- 1:22:56Speaker 27: I can't let this go this morning. It's just too
- 1:22:59Speaker 27: good for the– it just boggles my mind. Sean Scanlon
- 1:23:03Speaker 27: requested that they did not come out with this proposal
- 1:23:06Speaker 27: until after the elections. So one has to think, okay,
- 1:23:10Speaker 27: we were going to just dump this after the election,
- 1:23:14Speaker 27: and we could just push it through with no problem,
- 1:23:17Speaker 27: no pushback or anything. So the timing of it was
- 1:23:21Speaker 27: supposed to be orchestrated by Sean Scanlon and his Democratic Party. Hey,
- 1:23:25Speaker 27: we don't want to bring up new taxes before the election.
- 1:23:28Speaker 27: Let's get elected first, and then we're going to have
- 1:23:31Speaker 27: smooth sailing for the next two and four years, raising
- 1:23:34Speaker 27: taxes and doing whatever we want in the states. Again,
- 1:23:37Speaker 27: it is so utterly disgusting what these Democrats in the
- 1:23:44Speaker 27: state of Connecticut do to try to manipulate their government.
- 1:23:48Speaker 27: They control their government. There's no other way to put it.
- 1:23:52Speaker 27: They are in charge. You work for them. That's it.
- 1:23:55Speaker 27: No questions asked. And to tie everything into what we
- 1:23:59Speaker 27: were going to talk about in the first half hour,
- 1:24:01Speaker 27: which we didn't get to, Ned Lamont's tax returns were supposedly... uh...
- 1:24:07Speaker 27: issued uh... they were were shown to the media uh...
- 1:24:11Speaker 27: there was a uh... they they showed the first two
- 1:24:13Speaker 27: pages of each of the last four years of his
- 1:24:17Speaker 27: tax returns which show nothing does not show where any
- 1:24:21Speaker 27: of the investment income is coming from his dividends capital
- 1:24:24Speaker 27: gains or anything and we're supposed to just accept the
- 1:24:27Speaker 27: fact that okay he made a lot of money and
- 1:24:30Speaker 27: it's all right it's no big deal we don't need
- 1:24:31Speaker 27: to know anything more and again the state uh... State
- 1:24:35Speaker 27: voters do not have any answers whatsoever on all his
- 1:24:39Speaker 27: shell companies, all his Cayman Islands investments, FEMA force, so
- 1:24:44Speaker 27: on and so forth.
- 1:24:45Speaker 34: And I can almost.
- 1:24:47Speaker 27: Guarantee you, Tony, I can almost guarantee you a lot
- 1:24:50Speaker 27: of his profits were made from those shell companies and
- 1:24:54Speaker 27: from his investments, which were made with the blessings of
- 1:24:57Speaker 27: the state of Connecticut and Connecticut taxpayers' money. It's so disgusting,
- 1:25:02Speaker 27: it's not even funny.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Well, two things I'm going to mention. The first is
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: with respect to the Citizens Assembly. I mean, as we know,
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: politicians in Connecticut lie like cheap carpet, Democrats especially. And
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: Sean Scanlon, who basically said that, you know, to your point,
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: I'm not going to do this until after the election.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: And obviously it's getting a little too close for comfort
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: in the race against Ryan Fazio because– It is very
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: convenient for these people to break promises. He did it
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: all the time. So what he did basically was send
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: up a happy balloon to his loopy-doopy base and say, hey,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: look at what we're going to do if we get elected.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: That's basically all that is. That's my first point. Now
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: the second point is with respect to the tax returns.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: If Ned Lamont were an honorable man, which in my
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: estimation he is not by any stretch of the imagination–
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: those returns would have gone up with the Schedule Bs
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: with are you in foreign countries and what are the
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: foreign countries and, and, and, and the sources of income
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: and every single thing that was there. And they would
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: have been up on X. They would have been up
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: on Facebook. You know, I mean, I've done disclosures. I
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: do disclosures as a part of what keeps my overexpensive
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: heating bill on the barn. And it's a very easy
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: thing to do. And we would all see it. They
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: deliberately kept it off of X. They deliberately kept it
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: off of people who knew what to look for. Instead,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: they put a very limited disclosure. I can only imagine
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: probably people in that room standing there with either bats
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: or guns. You can look, but don't get too close.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: I don't know if there's necessarily bats or guns, but
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: you get this whole thing. And then you get a spokeslady.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I believe her name is Lauren Gray. I've had a
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: couple of go-arounds with her. Like, oh, he's so incredibly transparent.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: He's the best transparent guy. Look at what he did.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: And I think the only reason they did it, Bob,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: is because you and I are here screaming our guts
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: out every single week saying, where are they?
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Where are they?
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I think we ought to do this, right? Hey,
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: we've got to look transparent. It's just like they are
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: so damn predictable. But that all said... If this is
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: going to be an honest to goodness, true disclosure, throw
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: it out there on Twitter. Let us see it. Throw
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: us the partial stuff, which you gave to your quote
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: unquote handpicked, you know, handmaiden. And let us comment on
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: that and what's there. Because after all, if you are
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: a transparent guy, what the hell are you hiding? And
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: then you write this puff piece. and these people cover
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: for you, and they write and say, well, this is
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: what's there, and isn't it great, and this is his income. Oh, okay,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: he's a wealthy guy. He can be a wealthy guy.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: That's not the issue. The issue is, and I say
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: this for anybody in government. I say this for the president,
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: and I say this for whatever it is. Is your
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: governmental service causing you to profit personally, and or are
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: you unfairly leveraging– the systems of the state, or making
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: it so that you yourself or others in your family, cough, spit, barf,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: can otherwise profit. Here's another thing. I didn't mention this
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: in the open. If you talk about the socialization of
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: or the right of first refusal on apartment buildings, and
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: one of the Lamont equities is something called Unite Us.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: I've been through it on this show, and it was
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: set up inside of the Connecticut Hospital Association, of all things,
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: on August 3rd of 2019. August 1st of 2019 was
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: the Cayman Islands Incorporation of $ 800 million of OKCFE. Gee,
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: it's kind of, you know, nothing happened in here with
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: respect to this timing. But this whole equity is based on, quote-unquote,
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: the social determinants of health, whatever that may mean. So
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: it's like, well, if we get our building, we get
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: everything that's there, what kind of services are going to
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: be sold into that building, from whom and where? Bob,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: it is not a stretch of the imagination. And how
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: can you sit on your hands and say, well, is
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: this where you're headed? What are you doing? Why are
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: you not doing that? To my knowledge, this hasn't happened
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: in Connecticut yet, but, man, this is where they're headed.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Wow, man.
- 1:29:29Speaker 27: I think it's coming one way or the other. And
- 1:29:31Speaker 27: to your point, as far as the lack of transparency
- 1:29:36Speaker 27: in this administration, it's mind-boggling. If he's not hiding something,
- 1:29:41Speaker 27: I don't know what he's not hiding, because he is hiding.
- 1:29:44Speaker 27: For him to do what he did, and to me
- 1:29:46Speaker 27: it was just utterly ridiculous, the way he showed his
- 1:29:50Speaker 27: tax returns. Okay, so there is not anything on the internet.
- 1:29:53Speaker 27: It's scrubbed completely off the internet. All you get are
- 1:29:56Speaker 27: these little, you know, state-run media, basically public relation pieces,
- 1:30:02Speaker 27: stating that he made this money, so on and so forth.
- 1:30:04Speaker 27: And yet they have the law to condemn Fazio as
- 1:30:09Speaker 27: far as his income is concerned.
- 1:30:11Speaker 57: What's going on here?
- 1:30:13Speaker 27: Why aren't the Republicans all over Lamont to say, hey, listen,
- 1:30:17Speaker 27: point blank, did you make any money off the state
- 1:30:19Speaker 27: of Connecticut? We want to know, and if you're not
- 1:30:21Speaker 27: going to tell us, we're going to start really researching
- 1:30:24Speaker 27: this even more.
- 1:30:26Speaker 51: Uh.
- 1:30:26Speaker 27: closely than ever or higher independent investigators try to find
- 1:30:30Speaker 27: your sources of income and he won't fix disclosed get
- 1:30:34Speaker 27: public that's one for the poor why do i allow
- 1:30:37Speaker 27: him to to rip connecticut taxpayers off the way he
- 1:30:40Speaker 27: he has for years now it is ethically wrong it
- 1:30:45Speaker 27: shows his lack of transparency and it it just shows
- 1:30:48Speaker 27: how little respect he and his democratic party out for
- 1:30:53Speaker 27: the connecticut taxpayer at the connecticut voter For years.
- 1:30:59Speaker 47: Now.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: He is a master at, quote-unquote, committing the sin, and
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: then when he is called on the sin, it's like, oh,
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: that's nothing, that's small ball, or the time in the
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: picture he kissed the girl, basically, and it was a
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: dumb thing to do, and then people were, you know, oh,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: you harassed a woman, and he just laughed it off.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: If he were Andrew Cuomo, they would have thrown him
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: on the Cross Bronx Expressway, even Andrew Cuomo. And the
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: thing is, he always does this. And I was discussing
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: this last night with a young lady because she had
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: brought out to me some of the business of McKinsey.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: And McKinsey, as we know, we've been through on the show,
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: multinational corporation, consulting firm. They were buried in advanced C.T.,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: calling the shots they were buried in for ct calling
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: the shots and and and and the thing is i
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: mean this is a major hired gun they're mercenaries it's
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: like give them the money they'll do anything you know
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: from the uighur genocide in in china to your corporation
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: and you're trying to develop a market they will create
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: a campaign for you and they will influence state legislatures
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: now We were led to believe during COVID that Ned
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Lamont was this wonderful guy who was keeping everybody safe,
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: and he was the guy that was saving kinetic lives
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: over and over and over. And as that lie unraveled,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: and nobody wants to look at that. I want to
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: remind you of that, basically. And it's like he's always
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: pulling this crap, and they come and say, well, look
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: at him. He's just following his track record. Yeah, what's
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: his track record? Just lying? Serial larceny? I mean, come on.
- 1:32:44Speaker 27: Yeah, exactly. I mean, why accept his lies over and
- 1:32:48Speaker 27: over again? And is anyone in the Republican Party tired
- 1:32:52Speaker 27: of it? Is any elected Republican official, besides a handful,
- 1:32:56Speaker 27: that have questioned him about it? Why aren't they fighting
- 1:32:59Speaker 27: tooth and nail and saying, listen, Ben, this is not right.
- 1:33:02Speaker 27: You're the governor. You know, you claim all this pompous.
- 1:33:09Speaker 43: Pietistic, yeah.
- 1:33:10Speaker 27: What a great state you're running in. And you have
- 1:33:14Speaker 27: the audacity, you have the audacity, you have no shame
- 1:33:19Speaker 27: whatsoever to lie straight to your teeth as far as
- 1:33:22Speaker 27: all these connections, investments, so on and so forth. If
- 1:33:25Speaker 27: you have nothing to hide, you come clean on it.
- 1:33:28Speaker 27: As far as I'm concerned, as far as you're concerned,
- 1:33:30Speaker 27: as far as many are concerned, these lying through his teeth,
- 1:33:34Speaker 27: it needs to stop one way or the other. And again,
- 1:33:36Speaker 27: as much as all the media continues to say, Oh,
- 1:33:40Speaker 27: the gap is widening between Fazio and Lamont.
- 1:33:42Speaker 43: No, I don't think it is.
- 1:33:43Speaker 27: I think it's tightening up severely right now because they're realizing,
- 1:33:48Speaker 27: a lot of people are catching on, that Ned Lamont
- 1:33:50Speaker 27: and his Connecticut Democratic Party are the problem of the
- 1:33:53Speaker 27: state of Connecticut. It's not the Republicans. It's the problem
- 1:33:56Speaker 27: of one party rule for years in and years out
- 1:33:59Speaker 27: damaging the economy of the state to a point of
- 1:34:03Speaker 27: almost no return. Again, reiterating. What's the plan to pay
- 1:34:07Speaker 27: off $ 100 to $ 150 billion in short and long-term debt
- 1:34:10Speaker 27: along with unfunded liability? What's the plan to cut spending
- 1:34:14Speaker 27: in the state of Connecticut? How about a citizens' assembly
- 1:34:17Speaker 27: of people who actually work for a living, have no
- 1:34:20Speaker 27: political ties, to figure out ways to cut spending in
- 1:34:22Speaker 27: the state? They'll be shocked to see what goes on
- 1:34:24Speaker 27: in the state budget.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Which they don't want to show us. Basically, that's what
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: it is. And I think by definition, if I wanted
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: to hide something, I wouldn't show you everything. If I
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: didn't want to hide something, I'd show you everything. That's...
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: I mean, how difficult is that?
- 1:34:43Speaker 27: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:34:44Speaker 34: Exactly.
- 1:34:44Speaker 27: And that's the problem. And again, you need concrete economic
- 1:34:49Speaker 27: solutions to get Connecticut out of the economic Armageddon it's in.
- 1:34:55Speaker 27: And there's nothing being spoken about that anywhere.
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: Anywhere.
- 1:34:59Speaker 27: I don't hear anything. I don't see anything. I don't
- 1:35:02Speaker 27: see a coherent plan saying, okay... We've got a major
- 1:35:05Speaker 27: problem with unfunded liabilities. We have to address it immediately.
- 1:35:09Speaker 27: We have a major problem with increasing our spending by
- 1:35:12Speaker 27: well over 400% as the fake population declines. We have
- 1:35:16Speaker 27: a serious problem with the amount of government employees we have.
- 1:35:20Speaker 27: So on and so forth. There are issues in the
- 1:35:23Speaker 27: state of Connecticut economically that need to be resolved. There
- 1:35:26Speaker 27: are many social issues in the state of Connecticut that
- 1:35:29Speaker 27: need to be resolved. Number one, first and foremost, crime.
- 1:35:34Speaker 27: Where you're not safe, you have to worry about being
- 1:35:37Speaker 27: shot at for pumping gas at night type of thing.
- 1:35:42Speaker 27: It's ridiculous.
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: And how can I put it? People offer solutions. You've
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: offered solutions longer than I have. Other people have offered solutions.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: And it's like, give us this, we'll give you that.
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: The situation is dire. No one anywhere is taking us
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: up on it, basically. Now, the thing is, when you
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: do that, you can pretend one, two, or three things.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Number one, you're not listening. Number two, you think it's laughable.
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: I think if you think it's laughable, you deserve to
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: get your butt on this microphone and tell us why
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: it is laughable so perhaps maybe we can learn something.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Or number three, you don't want to share with us
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: what the hell is going on because you're concerned about
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: something that you don't want to see found out. Bob,
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: I'm back to that probability wheel. There ain't no other
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: place to go on it.
- 1:36:40Speaker 27: Well, here's something that we saw this morning that I
- 1:36:45Speaker 27: think exemplifies the problems that we have in the state
- 1:36:47Speaker 27: of Connecticut. Sean Scanlon saying they should not have gone
- 1:36:51Speaker 27: out with this program that they developed And, you know,
- 1:36:57Speaker 27: we wanted to hide it. That says it all to
- 1:37:01Speaker 27: me for the Democratic Party in the state of Connecticut.
- 1:37:04Speaker 27: They don't wish to communicate. They don't want to be transparent.
- 1:37:08Speaker 27: They don't want to tell the public what's going on.
- 1:37:11Speaker 27: They're running their own little island there in Hartford. That's theirs.
- 1:37:16Speaker 27: That's their domain. You don't enter it. You don't touch it.
- 1:37:19Speaker 27: You don't find out about it. No FOIA about it. Anything.
- 1:37:23Speaker 27: We are in control. And I'll tell you, Folks, voters,
- 1:37:28Speaker 27: wake up. Just wake up to see what is going
- 1:37:31Speaker 27: on in the state. It's just mind-boggling that it has
- 1:37:35Speaker 27: been allowed to go this far for this long. It
- 1:37:40Speaker 27: cannot sustain it anymore.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: And I think in our closing moments together, I come
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: here and it's like, do people really realize that this
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: really is like the last chance saloon? We're not going
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: to– it'll be miraculous if we get another chance after
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: this to right the ship because once you have more
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: of these people with this kind of birdbrain mindset, it's
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: like I don't know where to turn at that point
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: because you have nowhere to turn, basically.
- 1:38:13Speaker 27: And it's– And the only way you can turn at
- 1:38:16Speaker 27: that point, Tony, is something we talked about over the years.
- 1:38:20Speaker 27: Connecticut taxpayers say, hey, I'm done. I'm not paying my taxes.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 1:38:24Speaker 27: We're going to defund our government, and that's it. Start fresh.
- 1:38:27Speaker 27: You figure out what we're doing, and you figure out
- 1:38:31Speaker 27: why we're not paying our taxes. We've had enough. And unfortunately,
- 1:38:35Speaker 27: I hope that never reaches that point, but it's something
- 1:38:39Speaker 27: to think about, because at some point, Connecticut taxpayers will say,
- 1:38:43Speaker 27: that's it. I'm done. I'm not going to buy into
- 1:38:46Speaker 27: this garbage anymore.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: And I think that those that are involved in and
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: I mean, put it this way, you know, you need teachers,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: you need police, you need fire. I'm the first to
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: say that. But they need to realize that if there
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: isn't tax money to pay your salary, your salary is
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: not going to get paid. And you, too, will feel
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: the squeeze of you're not going to be able to
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: pay anything. Or perhaps you're a teacher. Your wife works
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: for a nonprofit. and the nonprofit doesn't get its funding
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: and or this, or it's part of the redundancy that
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: basically needs to end, you know, for just the fact
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: that it needs to end. And it's like, well, how
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: are you going to do it if the rest of
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: us can't do it to help you, basically? I mean,
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: believe me, it'll keep me up at night when I
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: think about it.
- 1:39:31Speaker 27: Well, that's what it's coming down to.
- 1:39:34Speaker 43: You know, it is what it is.
- 1:39:35Speaker 27: You know, at some point, the back breaks. The dam
- 1:39:38Speaker 27: burst and, you know, putting your little band-aid, Democratic band-aids
- 1:39:41Speaker 27: here and there to try to stop the flood is
- 1:39:44Speaker 27: not going to work anymore. That's what it comes down to.
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: Voters, wake up.
- 1:39:48Speaker 27: I mean, that's all I can say. Wake up.
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and you've got a week to do it, basically. And,
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: I mean, it's like now or never, and it's absolutely unbelievable.
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: But I do want to leave this power hour saying
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: this man, Ned Lamont, who is the governor, is not forthright,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: is not forthcoming. is hiding something, because if he wasn't
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: hiding something, he would show us, you know, quote-unquote, what
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: he is showing only to a select few, and only
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: to a select few that basically, number one, ostensibly don't
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: know what they're looking at, and number two, they didn't
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: get to take anything out of the room. I mean,
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: this is the kind of thing, I think, as you
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: said on Saturday, I mean, this would make Sammy Giancana blush,
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: for crying out loud. This is amazing.
- 1:40:32Speaker 27: I agree with you 110%. I mean, it's just utterly ridiculous.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: Well, it's another power hour in the books. Tony D'Angelo
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: and Bob Swick. And, Bob, thank you so much. And
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: we'll see you this Saturday with a new article?
- 1:40:47Speaker 27: Yes, sir. I'll be back.
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you, Bob, and thanks, everybody. Well, that's 94.9

- 1:42:52Speaker 27: Dave in 2010.
- 1:42:53Speaker 58: Ten years later, Dave, who retired later, had $ 874, 000. Sam

- 1:52:01Speaker 1: 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk, Tony D'Angelo in for Lee Elsie.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: I'm pleased to introduce this gentleman to you. If you'd
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: like to read about him, I have a post of
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: an article up on the Lee Elsey, Voice of Freedom
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: Facebook page, I would suggest you all read it. His
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: name is John Sanders. John is 81 years old. He
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: is from South Hamilton, Massachusetts, if I have that correctly.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: And John has led and leads a remarkable life. And
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: John has been blind pretty much his whole life. First
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: of all, John, good morning. Thank you for being here.
- 1:52:39Speaker 42: Good morning, Tony. And it's an honor to have been
- 1:52:41Speaker 42: asked to... come on this morning to be interviewed.
- 1:52:44Speaker 34: It's great.
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: It really is. And finally, you know, you, you always
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: call the house and you're like, how are you guys doing?
- 1:52:51Speaker 19: How's everything?
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: And I'm, I'm so remiss. And, uh, you know, you,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: you think of us every year and, uh, God, God
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: bless you for being you. I'm getting a lot of
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: questions about your life. And, um, I had a gentleman
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: asked me this morning about, uh, well, John has been
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: blind since birth. Um, How does he imagine red or
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: green or blue? Why don't you begin at the beginning,
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: and we've got some time. We can have some fun.
- 1:53:19Speaker 42: Well, I was born prematurely. I was supposed to be
- 1:53:22Speaker 42: born on September 7th, but I came along on July 19th.
- 1:53:27Speaker 42: My mother, she'd driven to Boston and pick up a
- 1:53:33Speaker 42: few things at Jordan Marsh and Filene's down in that
- 1:53:36Speaker 42: part of town in Boston. A lot of you... People
- 1:53:41Speaker 42: who are my age can remember those two stores down
- 1:53:46Speaker 42: there on Washington Street, right downtown Boston. Well, while she
- 1:53:51Speaker 42: was picking up things, she thought, I've got to get
- 1:53:54Speaker 42: into a taxi cab because I'm beginning to feel contractions.
- 1:53:59Speaker 42: So she went off to the Richardson wing of the
- 1:54:03Speaker 42: Mass General Hospital to notify her obstetrician that... Birth is
- 1:54:11Speaker 42: becoming early, and indeed it was. And so I was
- 1:54:16Speaker 42: born prematurely, and when my mother could not see any
- 1:54:23Speaker 42: eye-hand-eye coordination that was normal, she thought we'd better go
- 1:54:29Speaker 42: to the pediatrician and find out what's going on. And indeed,
- 1:54:36Speaker 42: the pediatrician said that... Your son is blind with a
- 1:54:40Speaker 42: diagnosis of ROP, retinopathy of prematurity.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: And you have lived your wife. Now, as far as
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: your education, you had gone to the Perkins School.
- 1:55:02Speaker 42: Yes, but before I get into that, I have... been
- 1:55:06Speaker 42: born with just light perception. So I could see no
- 1:55:09Speaker 42: colors and no faces, shapes, or mountains or anything like that.
- 1:55:17Speaker 42: You know, just some light perception. Seeing fireworks and can
- 1:55:21Speaker 42: tell whether it's a sunny day or a cloudy day.
- 1:55:24Speaker 42: And then I went to Perkins School for the Blind,
- 1:55:27Speaker 42: which was established back in the.
- 1:55:31Speaker 8: 1830s.
- 1:55:31Speaker 42: It's a school eight miles west of Boston at.
- 1:55:36Speaker 42: Watertown, in Watertown, Massachusetts. And I entered school in 1950
- 1:55:42Speaker 42: in kindergarten. And I do remember something about that first day.
- 1:55:49Speaker 42: I was there, and there were a lot of kids
- 1:55:51Speaker 42: in the main room of the dormitory where I was
- 1:55:54Speaker 42: supposed to live. You say dormitory. You don't have that
- 1:55:57Speaker 42: in public schools when you're going to school during the day.
- 1:56:01Speaker 42: But at Perkins, we boarded During the week, parents would
- 1:56:07Speaker 42: say goodbye to us on Monday morning and pick us
- 1:56:11Speaker 42: up Friday afternoons. And a lot of people and I
- 1:56:14Speaker 42: eventually got into a carpool with two other families, and
- 1:56:21Speaker 42: parents shared the responsibility of driving many times over 20 miles.
- 1:56:27Speaker 42: I lived in a town called Cohasset. It's a town
- 1:56:30Speaker 42: which is equally distant between Boston and Plymouth. on the
- 1:56:36Speaker 42: coast of Massachusetts, and that's where I grew up. And
- 1:56:43Speaker 42: commuted to Perkins, you know, 25 miles, 23 to 25
- 1:56:49Speaker 42: miles every week.
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: Now, in the classroom, how many other students were there,
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: and was there one teacher or a few teachers as
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: far as– teaching kids the basics, reading, writing, whatever history,
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: whatever was being taught? Was there one teacher? Was there
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: a bunch of teachers?
- 1:57:11Speaker 42: Well, K-6 grade was one teacher, a homeroom. We had
- 1:57:18Speaker 42: our classes in the homeroom for reading, English, math, that
- 1:57:25Speaker 42: kind of thing, whereas more and more we'd go out
- 1:57:29Speaker 42: for other classes, classes like shop or music classes to
- 1:57:35Speaker 42: other classrooms and other teachers that was started off with
- 1:57:40Speaker 42: just you know like hand crafts and shop and then
- 1:57:44Speaker 42: music and more and more as the grades went along
- 1:57:50Speaker 42: K through 6 but mostly it was a homeroom teacher
- 1:57:52Speaker 42: and the classes were 8 to 10 kids in each
- 1:57:58Speaker 42: class no more than 10 Interesting.
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: Now, did you learn to play an instrument? Because I
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: know you sing.
- 1:58:05Speaker 34: Yeah.
- 1:58:07Speaker 42: I tried piano. That was not my strong point. And
- 1:58:14Speaker 42: no other real instruments, no. But singing in choruses was wonderful.
- 1:58:20Speaker 42: We had great music teachers, and we learned a lot
- 1:58:24Speaker 42: of the old traditional things. songs, you know, like patriotic songs.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: We love those here.
- 1:58:33Speaker 42: We love them here. To graduate from sixth to seventh grade,
- 1:58:37Speaker 42: we had to recite, for our music teacher, we had
- 1:58:41Speaker 42: to recite the four verses of America the Beautiful, four
- 1:58:45Speaker 42: verses of My Country, Tis of Thee, and two verses
- 1:58:48Speaker 42: of The Star-Spangled Banner.
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: You know, it's funny. I've already given somebody the honor
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: group of the day. I think I'm going to rip
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: the crown from him and give it to you, actually.
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. Now, you had tried law school, and it
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: wasn't for you.
- 1:59:04Speaker 42: Yeah, yeah. I graduated from Perkins in 1965. I went,
- 1:59:08Speaker 42: you know, K through 12, right there, right through there
- 1:59:13Speaker 42: at Perkins. And went on to Dickinson College down in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
- 1:59:20Speaker 42: And it was interesting. When I got to Dickinson, I
- 1:59:22Speaker 42: was wondering, you know, the first day or two I
- 1:59:25Speaker 42: was there. It would be interesting to see how well
- 1:59:28Speaker 42: Perkins prepared me for this new experience of starting college
- 1:59:33Speaker 42: in 1965 in September. Because a lot of things were
- 1:59:36Speaker 42: going on, you know.
- 1:59:38Speaker 27: Sure.
- 1:59:38Speaker 42: Orientation to the classes, to the dormitory, to what life
- 1:59:43Speaker 42: would be like in the college, the fraternity rush, and this,
- 1:59:47Speaker 42: the whole, all of this kind of thing. And, uh,
- 1:59:51Speaker 42: Come to find, looking back on it, I found Perkins
- 1:59:54Speaker 42: prepared me very well socially and academically for a college experience.
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: Now, it's interesting because you have done, and you found
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: this wasn't for you, and we're talking with John Sanders,
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: now retired, blind since birth. former principal of the Sanders
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: Christian Foundation. And you went, and this is where you
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: and I met, you went into a career of, uh,
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: sound recordings and you became, as far as I'm concerned,
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: you were probably the consummate broadcast historian. You remember people that,
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: you know, even somebody like me forgets or Bob Lazari forgets.
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: He says, hi, by the way, he was on earlier.
- 2:00:38Speaker 43: Oh, great.
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: Yeah. And he, um, And this was an incredible thing.
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: And I've always, I mean, to give you a story,
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: a personal story. Well, actually, let me ask you this
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: because my producer is going to throw a brick at me.
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: If I were to give you a color, and this
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: is just a familiarity thing, red or green or blue
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: or orange, what is your concept of that?
- 2:01:05Speaker 42: Well, it's from what people say, like red is bright.
- 2:01:11Speaker 42: And black is dark. You know, like red would be
- 2:01:16Speaker 42: like a sunny day. Or I imagine black would be
- 2:01:21Speaker 42: like a cloudy day. Something like that.
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: That's about what it is. It's amazing. But let me
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: tell you, I mean, we're sitting at a conference. We're
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: at the Heinz Center in Boston. And you were at
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: my table and, you know, your choir had sung and
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: you and I had gone over to listen to Chuck
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: Colson preach. You know, it's funny. Richard Nixon, at least
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: the AI version, has been my announcer on these shows.
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: I always think of, like, the Hatchet Men. Colson was
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: actually a very good preacher. I enjoyed listening to him.
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: And then you turned to me and said, well, I'm
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: going to go to the library. I said, would you
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: like me to get the car and we'll give you
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: a ride? And you said no, and you said I–
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: I will go and I will be back. And you
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: took your cane and you went to, you know, on
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: the mass transit in Boston and you came back, you know,
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: 45 minutes later. And I was like, I, I mean,
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: that to me was amazing. I mean, I guess you've
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: developed a familiarity through the years, but John, I could
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: not do that myself with sight, but you did it like.
- 2:02:30Speaker 42: Interesting. We were introduced to the cane in Perkins school and,
- 2:02:36Speaker 42: in second grade year, and the teacher said, imagine your
- 2:02:42Speaker 42: cane talking to you, and it will talk to you.
- 2:02:46Speaker 42: And all of us laughed and thought, it doesn't say words.
- 2:02:50Speaker 42: What does Ms. Bunton, our teacher, mean by that? And
- 2:02:56Speaker 42: she said, the cane will tell you whether you're going upstairs, downstairs,
- 2:03:02Speaker 42: or whether you're walking along feeling grass with the tip
- 2:03:06Speaker 42: of your cane, then you can feel the sidewalk cement.
- 2:03:09Speaker 42: So it tells you just where, what you're negotiating with
- 2:03:15Speaker 42: the tip of a white cane, white guide cane that
- 2:03:19Speaker 42: blind folks use. It's lighter than a support cane, but
- 2:03:24Speaker 42: they are from four to six feet long, the various
- 2:03:27Speaker 42: heights of people that have it in front of you
- 2:03:32Speaker 42: and use it that way.
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's an amazing thing. And, you know, and
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: and world events, I think we've spent the morning talking about,
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: you know, you and I have these discussions and we're
- 2:03:47Speaker 1: kind of in a situation right now. You know, I
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: know you guys in Massachusetts, us in Connecticut and the nation,
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: I think in so many ways. We're I'm just very
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: concerned about what we would know is in Paris. If
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: you're looking at what's happening there, as far as you know,
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: Western civilization as we know it being there, regardless of
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: what you believe. I know you've been praying about that
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: and thinking about that and observing.
- 2:04:16Speaker 27: Yes.
- 2:04:19Speaker 42: Over my lifetime, I've seen a lot of change and
- 2:04:24Speaker 42: more division in our country. And there's more anger underneath.
- 2:04:30Speaker 42: People were more friendly, I think, overall, back then. when
- 2:04:35Speaker 42: I was growing up than now. You hear it on
- 2:04:41Speaker 42: the radio, listening to talk programs. You hear it, you know,
- 2:04:50Speaker 42: when you meet people on the street as well.
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: We don't want to discuss things anymore. You know, I
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: often say my normal or my usual guest for this
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: segment who's visiting his kids today is... The Honorable Judge
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: John Nazar, a retired judge. And the judge is, he's
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: sharp as a tack. He's, I love talking to him.
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: We may not agree on every single point, but yet
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: we end every segment saying, you know, it's not the
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: case of the Democrat answer or the Republican answer. What
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: JFK said is let's get to the right answer. Since
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: we don't dialogue anymore, John, we don't get to the
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: right answer. And that just frustrates the, use your favorite,
- 2:05:34Speaker 1: word in there out of me. But it's, it's an
- 2:05:40Speaker 1: amazing thing. So these days you're retired and you're enjoying
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: life and a great career. What I did tell everybody,
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry, please go ahead.
- 2:05:48Speaker 42: Yeah, no, it's all right. What did you, what did
- 2:05:50Speaker 42: you tell everybody?
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: Well, I told everybody that you are this incredible, I
- 2:05:54Speaker 1: call you like an accidental historian and an accident. I
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: won't call you accidental because you're very studied and we've
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: had discussions of the great broadcasters of the past. And
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: would you mind if I threw a couple of historical
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: dates at you and you can tell me what was
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: happening in the world?
- 2:06:10Speaker 27: Okay.
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:06:12Speaker 42: Here we go.
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: July 12th, 1967.
- 2:06:16Speaker 42: 1967 was a turbulent year. That's the year when the
- 2:06:22Speaker 42: American cities began to blow up. There was rioting in Detroit.
- 2:06:29Speaker 42: There was a lot of anti-war. The Vietnam War was
- 2:06:32Speaker 42: at its height. And there was a lot of protest.
- 2:06:36Speaker 42: And the cities, there was a lot of racial strife, too,
- 2:06:40Speaker 42: in America at that time.
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the time that I think every single
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: city other than New York had riots. I'll do one
- 2:06:47Speaker 1: or two more. May 15th, 1985. I don't know what happened.
- 2:06:52Speaker 42: On that date, but 1985, that's when we were going
- 2:06:56Speaker 42: into the Oliver North....
- 2:07:03Speaker 1: On or about, yeah. It might have been a little later.
- 2:07:06Speaker 42: Ronald Reagan, his administration, yeah.
- 2:07:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I really miss seeing Reagan. It's like whenever you
- 2:07:13Speaker 1: had that, whenever you looked at Reagan, you always felt
- 2:07:17Speaker 1: confident that things would be okay. I haven't had that
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: feeling in a while.
- 2:07:21Speaker 42: Well, he had a calming voice. He had a very
- 2:07:24Speaker 42: calming voice.
- 2:07:25Speaker 1: Yes, he did.
- 2:07:26Speaker 42: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:07:27Speaker 1: Yes, he did. And then I was thinking, actually, I
- 2:07:32Speaker 1: was watching, And this is interesting. Of course, these days
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: you can get up on YouTube. And I was listening
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: to a radio broadcast of 1938. And what amazed me
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: was all of the announcers. You know, today people get
- 2:07:44Speaker 1: on radio and they're... And diction is... But, like, you know,
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: listening to, like, Graham McNamee and John Charles Daly. And
- 2:07:54Speaker 1: the diction was so perfect. it's just a and I
- 2:08:02Speaker 1: and it was a time when people learned manners what
- 2:08:04Speaker 1: the heck is manners we don't know what that is anymore.
- 2:08:09Speaker 43: Yes I know it's unbelievable and we.
- 2:08:11Speaker 42: Learned manners at Perkins we certainly did meeting people and so.
- 2:08:18Speaker 1: Forth yes Are you doing any recording or outreaches these
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: days or web? Because I know in doing this, you're
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: probably going to get this whole generations of fans like,
- 2:08:29Speaker 1: I've got to meet John. I've got to talk to John. And,
- 2:08:32Speaker 1: you know, for all I know, John is retired, and
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: I don't want to complicate your life. But believe me,
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: there's people that I've had several inquiries. Where do I
- 2:08:40Speaker 1: talk to John? And, you know, it's fine to say
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: I'm retired. I've done my life's work. Or maybe I'm
- 2:08:46Speaker 1: creating a whole new career for you.
- 2:08:49Speaker 50: Huh.
- 2:08:50Speaker 42: But, you know, people are free to call me and
- 2:08:52Speaker 42: talk with me. Yeah, I welcome conversation, and I always
- 2:08:56Speaker 42: like meeting new people. I like that a lot.
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: And where do they reach you?
- 2:09:02Speaker 42: People could reach me by phone at 978-473-2276. And believe me,
- 2:09:05Speaker 42: because what I said to somebody this morning is that.
- 2:09:18Speaker 1: They will call you three months from today, and if
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: you've spoken to them, you will know their voice, which
- 2:09:24Speaker 1: I've always found amazing.
- 2:09:26Speaker 42: I'm a little slower on the draw on doing that
- 2:09:31Speaker 42: now than I was before, you know, when I was younger,
- 2:09:35Speaker 42: of course. But I do depend on recognizing voices, yeah.
- 2:09:39Speaker 1: Well, fortunately, you're still 100% faster than the rest of us. Anyway... John,
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: thank you so much for being here. John Sanders of
- 2:09:50Speaker 1: South Hamilton, Massachusetts. A long career in recording, broadcasting, and
- 2:09:56Speaker 1: a life incredibly well lived. And folks, he is without
- 2:10:00Speaker 1: his sight. Just goes to show you, God gives you opportunity.
- 2:10:04Speaker 1: You do what God tells you to do. John, God
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: bless you. Thanks so much.
- 2:10:09Speaker 42: Okay.
- 2:10:11Speaker 1: Thanks for being here.
- 2:10:12Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 2:10:14Speaker 1: That was John Sanders, ladies and gentlemen, and we will
- 2:10:17Speaker 1: be back with Open Show. We may have a call
- 2:10:20Speaker 1: in from our manager.
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: Mr.

- 2:18:21Speaker 31: I'm Sean Murphy.
- 2:18:23Speaker 32: Sunny skies today with a high around 65. Two workers

- 2:18:34Speaker 32: while the other... was treated and released. OSHA and state
- 2:18:38Speaker 32: officials are investigating. A person suffered serious injuries yesterday after
- 2:18:43Speaker 32: being run over by machinery near Providence Pike in Putnam.
- 2:18:47Speaker 32: An off-duty state trooper applied two tourniquets before emergency crews arrived.
- 2:18:52Speaker 32: The victim was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center.

- 2:19:35Speaker 1: 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. Tony D'Angelo in for Lee Elsie.
- 2:19:41Speaker 1: There are four more days or five more days to
- 2:19:44Speaker 1: the return of Lee Elsie. I understand on the phone
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: we have the owner-manager of Full Power Radio, Mr. John Fuller,
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: who would like to share with us something that is
- 2:19:55Speaker 1: on his heart and mind.
- 2:19:55Speaker 6: Hello, sir.
- 2:19:56Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 2:19:58Speaker 43: Good morning, Tony the Tiger.
- 2:20:00Speaker 34: How are you?
- 2:20:00Speaker 1: How are you?
- 2:20:02Speaker 43: You know, I'm doing pretty good.
- 2:20:03Speaker 34: Did you watch the debate between Courtney and Austin last night?
- 2:20:07Speaker 1: I didn't, sir. I was preparing to do this show.
- 2:20:12Speaker 43: You were going to bed early. What time did you
- 2:20:15Speaker 43: go to bed?
- 2:20:15Speaker 34: 7 o'clock?
- 2:20:17Speaker 1: It must have been about 9.30, believe it or not.
- 2:20:19Speaker 1: But I was up half the night.
- 2:20:21Speaker 34: But I've been watching this cat, Joe Courtney, for quite
- 2:20:24Speaker 34: a while. According to him, he single-handedly... saved the sub base,
- 2:20:29Speaker 34: and created all of these jobs, which I don't know. Well,
- 2:20:35Speaker 34: that's a conversation for another day. But all I know
- 2:20:39Speaker 34: is that he looks like Joe Biden. He walks like
- 2:20:43Speaker 34: Joe Biden. He talks like Joe Biden.
- 2:20:48Speaker 43: And he is the new Joe Biden, as far as
- 2:20:51Speaker 43: I'm concerned. Last night, he did do okay in the debates.
- 2:20:57Speaker 34: The debate was focused around subjects, affordability, because Connecticut is
- 2:21:02Speaker 34: just so unaffordable, and it starts with the government spending.
- 2:21:06Speaker 43: But no one ever seems to mention that.
- 2:21:08Speaker 34: Then we have immigration problems, which are all self-manifestation of
- 2:21:13Speaker 34: bad rules and policies that keep flipping and flopping, depending
- 2:21:19Speaker 34: upon the groups that's in. Foreign policy, that's a nightmare. AI,
- 2:21:25Speaker 34: that's a big thing today. People are worried about taking over,
- 2:21:30Speaker 34: which if we don't kill ourselves, at least we'll have
- 2:21:33Speaker 34: AI to do it. And then flock cameras.
- 2:21:36Speaker 43: People, you know, they love their cameras on their.
- 2:21:39Speaker 34: Phone, but if the police have flock cameras and they
- 2:21:43Speaker 34: can rewind and find and maybe solve.
- 2:21:46Speaker 43: A crime, they don't want to do that.
- 2:21:49Speaker 34: So it was an interesting barrage of debates and topics.
- 2:21:55Speaker 34: But 11 years, this is going to be Joe Courtney's
- 2:21:59Speaker 34: 11th term if he ends up winning.
- 2:22:02Speaker 43: But I noticed that last night, you know, he wasn't
- 2:22:07Speaker 43: really on his game as he has in the past.
- 2:22:11Speaker 34: And we're going to play cut number one.
- 2:22:14Speaker 1: Mr. Producer, please.
- 2:22:15Speaker 12: Aimed at streamlining permitting processes that has stalled in the Senate.
- 2:22:21Speaker 1: What an oxymoron if you ever heard one.
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: That's the opposite of what I said.
- 2:22:25Speaker 47: But anyway, if I might.
- 2:22:28Speaker 6: In that case, I forgot my.
- 2:22:30Speaker 1: Train of thought.
- 2:22:35Speaker 34: I couldn't hear the tail words, but the tail words.
- 2:22:38Speaker 43: Say it all in that quote.
- 2:22:41Speaker 34: That he got it wrong.
- 2:22:43Speaker 1: Interesting. Interesting. I mean, people that know me know I'm
- 2:22:48Speaker 1: not a fan of the guy. I can't figure out
- 2:22:50Speaker 1: anything that he's really done. It's like you don't. hear
- 2:22:53Speaker 1: anything from him at all and he sends me a
- 2:22:56Speaker 1: friday email it's basically you know john him mugging it
- 2:23:00Speaker 1: up with some group with a big cardboard placard of
- 2:23:03Speaker 1: a check where he's handing out money basically and of
- 2:23:06Speaker 1: course you know to your point he uh mentions the
- 2:23:09Speaker 1: uh the sub base but basically i tell people well
- 2:23:12Speaker 1: listen thank god for donald trump and pete hagseth because
- 2:23:15Speaker 1: they're the ones that are funneling the money over there
- 2:23:17Speaker 1: so basically other than this guy showing up for photo
- 2:23:20Speaker 1: ops when and his general counsel just led me to
- 2:23:22Speaker 1: tears But what does he do? What does he do?
- 2:23:26Speaker 34: I don't know. And here's the thing about the sub-bays.
- 2:23:28Speaker 34: The subs are great because you can move them around.
- 2:23:33Speaker 34: You build a ship, and if the target leaves the port,
- 2:23:40Speaker 34: the submarines.
- 2:23:41Speaker 43: You know, you can move them, you know, in the Bay.
- 2:23:45Speaker 34: Of Bermuda, or you can put them downtown. off the
- 2:23:49Speaker 34: coast of Cuba, wherever a hot spot is. And when
- 2:23:52Speaker 34: you have to launch a nuclear weapon, they don't know
- 2:23:55Speaker 34: where it is until the nuclear weapon is on.
- 2:23:57Speaker 43: The way to its target.
- 2:24:00Speaker 34: So that's why subs are so popular. And we are
- 2:24:03Speaker 34: investing more money in them because they're a great stealth weapon.
- 2:24:11Speaker 34: That's exactly what you want.
- 2:24:13Speaker 1: What they are, yeah.
- 2:24:15Speaker 43: So you have the Army.
- 2:24:17Speaker 34: The Navy, all of that. They're going to go after
- 2:24:20Speaker 34: weapons that they can move around and that the enemy
- 2:24:23Speaker 34: can't see and some of them. So they're hot. We're
- 2:24:28Speaker 34: going to build more of those than we're going to
- 2:24:30Speaker 34: build boats that are just clearly visible and easy picked
- 2:24:34Speaker 34: off targets. So, you know, now we happen to have
- 2:24:37Speaker 34: a sub base. We have one right here in Groton. And,
- 2:24:42Speaker 34: you know, we have electric boats. and they've been doing
- 2:24:45Speaker 34: it a long time.
- 2:24:47Speaker 43: So, of course, they're going to get the orders.
- 2:24:49Speaker 34: They're going to get the orders whether Joe Courtney is around.
- 2:24:53Speaker 42: Or not around.
- 2:24:53Speaker 1: Exactly, exactly, exactly.
- 2:24:56Speaker 43: So that's my take on that.
- 2:24:59Speaker 34: And, you know, Courtney's had some challenges. You know, Mike
- 2:25:03Speaker 34: France came in there, but there was just something missing there,
- 2:25:06Speaker 34: and Mike tried really hard, and he's a great guy,
- 2:25:09Speaker 34: smart guy, but couldn't go over the edge with that.
- 2:25:14Speaker 34: Lori Hopkins Kavanaugh, she almost beat him. It was an
- 2:25:18Speaker 34: extremely close race. So they're not all that happy with him.
- 2:25:22Speaker 34: They can see through some of his stuff. But she's self-destructed,
- 2:25:27Speaker 34: like with her own party, just getting into a fight
- 2:25:29Speaker 34: with everybody in her party, saying she didn't get support.
- 2:25:33Speaker 34: Had that been a tighter campaign, and that's what we
- 2:25:37Speaker 34: find with a lot of these candidates. They never have
- 2:25:40Speaker 34: done this before. And I've been working with a few
- 2:25:43Speaker 34: of them to help them with their marketing, and they've
- 2:25:46Speaker 34: just never done it before, and they don't know what
- 2:25:49Speaker 34: to do. The Republicans need to run a workshop and
- 2:25:54Speaker 34: teach them, bring in the best from all over the country,
- 2:25:58Speaker 34: people that have won races, have changed things around in their.
- 2:26:03Speaker 43: Campaigns, how to do it, how to go from a
- 2:26:08Speaker 43: candidate that's barely.
- 2:26:11Speaker 43: You know, getting votes to one that wins.
- 2:26:14Speaker 34: That's the problem with the Republicans in Connecticut. The other
- 2:26:19Speaker 34: problem is, Courtney has been there for 11, this will
- 2:26:22Speaker 34: be his 11th term.
- 2:26:25Speaker 43: The national debt has gone.
- 2:26:26Speaker 34: From $ 2 trillion to $ 40 trillion, and he knows it.
- 2:26:31Speaker 34: He mentioned it last night, but there's no plan to
- 2:26:35Speaker 34: reverse it. There's no spending cut. None of these politicians...
- 2:26:40Speaker 34: talk about spending cuts, pulling things back, or doing anything
- 2:26:45Speaker 34: to stop this train out of control.
- 2:26:48Speaker 1: That's exactly my impression, John. He's always throwing money, and
- 2:26:52Speaker 1: I see his mug in the emails. It's like, what
- 2:26:55Speaker 1: have you done for me lately ever, if at all?
- 2:26:58Speaker 34: Right. He shows up at church groups. He shows up
- 2:27:03Speaker 34: at anything, but he really doesn't say anything. Kind of
- 2:27:07Speaker 34: brings it back to Joe Biden. Joe Biden would come up.
- 2:27:10Speaker 43: There in his little desk.
- 2:27:11Speaker 34: He'd sign a document. They'd go get him up. He'd
- 2:27:15Speaker 34: walk off the wrong side of the stage.
- 2:27:17Speaker 43: And then two days later, you'd see him out on
- 2:27:19Speaker 43: the beach. And then, of course, there was this basement.
- 2:27:24Speaker 34: He had a full on campaign.
- 2:27:27Speaker 43: From his basement. Didn't have to leave.
- 2:27:29Speaker 34: Didn't have to really do anything. The cameras come on.
- 2:27:32Speaker 34: They go off. You know, they probably did several takes.
- 2:27:36Speaker 43: To get it right.
- 2:27:37Speaker 34: Put a little makeup on here. And he was able to.
- 2:27:40Speaker 34: to win the election.
- 2:27:41Speaker 43: Sometimes doing nothing can get you something.
- 2:27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, oftentimes you profit by not doing anything. Now, I
- 2:27:48Speaker 1: am of the understanding you have more audio you'd like
- 2:27:51Speaker 1: to share?
- 2:27:52Speaker 43: Yeah, there's another cut. Let's play that one.
- 2:27:54Speaker 27: Okay, Mr.
- 2:27:54Speaker 1: Engineer, please. The engineer is busily working.
- 2:28:08Speaker 45: Yeah, I definitely see it as a problem.
- 2:28:11Speaker 4: By the way, you left out offshore wind in your
- 2:28:13Speaker 4: list there, which the.
- 2:28:16Speaker 45: Oh, you mentioned it.
- 2:28:17Speaker 27: Oh, did I?
- 2:28:17Speaker 42: I'm sorry.
- 2:28:17Speaker 27: No, it was there.
- 2:28:20Speaker 1: So, John, that was the audio.
- 2:28:22Speaker 51: Yeah.
- 2:28:23Speaker 34: Yeah.
- 2:28:24Speaker 43: I mean, he loses his place.
- 2:28:26Speaker 34: It's all things. You know, Joe Biden did it in
- 2:28:29Speaker 34: the early days of his dementia or whatever it is
- 2:28:31Speaker 34: that Joe Biden says.
- 2:28:32Speaker 43: They say he's still perfect and ready to run, but that's.
- 2:28:36Speaker 34: Not the case. And you get that with Joe Biden.
- 2:28:39Speaker 34: His age did come up as a question from from
- 2:28:44Speaker 34: the panel.
- 2:28:46Speaker 43: And, you know, they always say the same thing.
- 2:28:48Speaker 34: I'm fine.
- 2:28:49Speaker 43: I get the best health ever.
- 2:28:51Speaker 34: And all of that. Because, honestly, they just don't want
- 2:28:53Speaker 34: to give up the power. He sees this as 11 years,
- 2:28:57Speaker 34: 11 years strong on the second congressional district. We were
- 2:29:02Speaker 34: excited to bring the.
- 2:29:03Speaker 43: Debate on 94.9 News now from Connecticut College. They did
- 2:29:07Speaker 43: a great job with the audio and setting it up.
- 2:29:10Speaker 34: I thought it was well done.
- 2:29:11Speaker 43: Not everyone that wanted to get in could get in,
- 2:29:14Speaker 43: but you had to sign up for the debate beforehand.
- 2:29:18Speaker 34: But what we're noticing, too, is a lot of these debates,
- 2:29:21Speaker 34: they're not even allowing a lot of people to come in.
- 2:29:23Speaker 43: Sometimes it's just the candidate.
- 2:29:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and that to me is you kind of feel
- 2:29:29Speaker 1: like you're getting half a loaf. Anyway, as we're winding down,
- 2:29:34Speaker 1: any concluding comments, sir?
- 2:29:37Speaker 43: Well, I don't know.
- 2:29:38Speaker 34: I think we need to start printing up bumper stickers. And,
- 2:29:42Speaker 34: you know, they should be, Joe Courtney is the new
- 2:29:47Speaker 34: Joe Biden.
- 2:29:47Speaker 55: What do.
- 2:29:51Speaker 1: You think? Well, I think we've given a lot of
- 2:29:53Speaker 1: great initiatives on this show, and I think you just
- 2:29:56Speaker 1: put the cherry on the sundae, John. So, listen, thank you.
- 2:30:00Speaker 1: Thanks for calling in. And, you know, really appreciate all
- 2:30:04Speaker 1: you do for us and having the voice of freedom.
- 2:30:07Speaker 1: And it's been a pleasure talking with you, sir.
- 2:30:11Speaker 34: All right. Keep up the good work, Tony D.
- 2:30:14Speaker 1: Thank you, John. 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. We'll have
- 2:30:18Speaker 1: to be really quick with the calls, but we're going

- 2:33:00Speaker 1: lining up. It's like Durante. Everybody wants to get into
- 2:33:03Speaker 1: the act. First up, Reed.
- 2:33:04Speaker 27: Hi, pal.
- 2:33:05Speaker 1: How are you?
- 2:33:06Speaker 28: Tony, what a great job you did with your guests
- 2:33:10Speaker 28: covering the fiscal situation. And I could hear in the
- 2:33:14Speaker 28: tone of your voice how sad you are for the
- 2:33:17Speaker 28: state of Connecticut. And I am, too. I'm not a
- 2:33:21Speaker 28: lifetime resident here, but I've gotten to love it. And
- 2:33:24Speaker 28: it is such a mess. And the passion that was
- 2:33:29Speaker 28: in that discussion was fantastic. And it so happened there
- 2:33:33Speaker 28: was a serendipity going on because I was kind of
- 2:33:36Speaker 28: policing the area here as the sun was rising. And
- 2:33:40Speaker 28: the sun came through so brightly that I thought I
- 2:33:43Speaker 28: had left a light on. So I walked into the
- 2:33:46Speaker 28: living room to see if I could shut off the
- 2:33:48Speaker 28: light because I'm always trying to save a penny here
- 2:33:51Speaker 28: and a penny there. But it was just the sun
- 2:33:53Speaker 28: shining in. And that stupid event made me think of
- 2:33:57Speaker 28: the Broadway tune and the Broadway show, On a Clear
- 2:34:00Speaker 28: Day You Can See Forever. The sunrise here is just.
- 2:34:04Speaker 41: So beautiful today.
- 2:34:06Speaker 28: And I looked up Alan Jay Lerner and Burton Lane.
- 2:34:11Speaker 28: And I was thinking, did either of these guys have
- 2:34:14Speaker 28: religious backgrounds that inspired writing that wonderful musical? And really,
- 2:34:22Speaker 28: it was just the opposite. It was that Alan Jay
- 2:34:25Speaker 28: Lerner led what could really be described as a perfectly
- 2:34:29Speaker 28: sinful life, and he didn't get any assistance on that either.
- 2:34:34Speaker 28: It seemed he stumbled into situations that were very adverse,
- 2:34:39Speaker 28: and yet he kept producing all these things. He married
- 2:34:43Speaker 28: no less than eight times.
- 2:34:45Speaker 3: Oh, my Lord.
- 2:34:46Speaker 8: And.
- 2:34:47Speaker 28: You know, I was thinking of your father and his
- 2:34:49Speaker 28: career on Broadway, which you've told me about, and that's
- 2:34:53Speaker 28: a big influence on you and your interest in Broadway
- 2:34:56Speaker 28: shows and movies and stuff that you feature in 30
- 2:35:00Speaker 28: with Tony on YouTube. And I was thinking, did your
- 2:35:04Speaker 28: dad ever work at the Mark Hollinger Theater when that
- 2:35:07Speaker 28: show was running? It did an early stint in the 60s,
- 2:35:11Speaker 28: and then it did a revival later on, and then
- 2:35:14Speaker 28: the same thing happened in London. And it made me
- 2:35:18Speaker 28: think how you are really a classical old-time union Democrat
- 2:35:24Speaker 28: that we don't have in today's Democrat Party.
- 2:35:27Speaker 1: You tell me that.
- 2:35:28Speaker 28: The state of Connecticut is a sinking ship. And that
- 2:35:31Speaker 28: that's your background, and that would be a lot better
- 2:35:34Speaker 28: than the Republicans that we have running our state today. And,
- 2:35:42Speaker 28: you know, it just made me see this, and then
- 2:35:44Speaker 28: I thought, I'm also going to look up on the
- 2:35:47Speaker 28: search to see if On a Clear Day attracted anybody's
- 2:35:51Speaker 28: attention from the theological standpoint. It sure enough, it did.
- 2:35:55Speaker 28: And it led to numerous discussions about, you know, the
- 2:35:58Speaker 28: last days and how even Satan's time is short and
- 2:36:04Speaker 28: the Lord will return and he will lay down the law.
- 2:36:08Speaker 28: And so we've just got to be faithful in that.
- 2:36:10Speaker 34: And that's why I called.
- 2:36:11Speaker 28: I think you're doing a terrific job.
- 2:36:13Speaker 1: Well, thank you. You know, as far as what my
- 2:36:15Speaker 1: father worked on, if I live long enough, I will
- 2:36:18Speaker 1: get over to my vault, which is in Stratford, where
- 2:36:21Speaker 1: I packed things 25 years ago and some family things,
- 2:36:24Speaker 1: and I'll get out the program. Perhaps I can reconstruct
- 2:36:27Speaker 1: the history of where my dad was.
- 2:36:30Speaker 49: And I.
- 2:36:33Speaker 1: Recall a couple of stories here and there, but I
- 2:36:35Speaker 1: need to do a better job of that. Thank you, pal.
- 2:36:38Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Let's go to Jan, who I know has
- 2:36:39Speaker 1: been patiently waiting.
- 2:36:40Speaker 2: Hi, Jan.
- 2:36:42Speaker 57: Good morning, and I believe Barbara Streisand starred in the
- 2:36:48Speaker 57: show where Clear Day was featured on Broadway. I think so,
- 2:36:52Speaker 57: but I know she sang it. Excuse me. So to
- 2:36:57Speaker 57: follow up with John Fuller's call, I heard the debate
- 2:37:01Speaker 57: last night, and I was kind of holding my breath
- 2:37:05Speaker 57: and crossing my fingers. I thought that Joe Courtney was
- 2:37:07Speaker 57: going to eat George alive, and he did not. I mean, George,
- 2:37:13Speaker 57: what George had going for him there was he was
- 2:37:16Speaker 57: a little bit nervous, not nervous. You know, occasionally he
- 2:37:21Speaker 57: stumbled at his words, and he kind of acknowledged that.
- 2:37:24Speaker 57: But for the most part, he was very articulate, and
- 2:37:27Speaker 57: he had sincere answers. And it's really interesting watching we
- 2:37:33Speaker 57: debate Martha and George debate Courtney, when you've got these cynical,
- 2:37:40Speaker 57: you know, look, I brought you some candy, little kid.
- 2:37:43Speaker 57: Come on over here. Eat this candy. To the voters,
- 2:37:47Speaker 57: I'm going to give you something. Oh, yeah, by the way,
- 2:37:50Speaker 57: I stole it out of your house, but that's okay.
- 2:37:54Speaker 57: And people who just answer a question very, very honestly.
- 2:37:59Speaker 57: So it was very refreshing. And the questions were not
- 2:38:06Speaker 57: gotcha questions. They were policy questions. So I enjoyed that.
- 2:38:10Speaker 57: But I think one of the important things that George
- 2:38:14Speaker 57: said is when you're talking about all the financial problems
- 2:38:17Speaker 57: that we have, And Congress, the House is supposed to
- 2:38:21Speaker 57: make a budget. And that's the problem we have with spending.
- 2:38:25Speaker 57: You can talk about spending, but without a budget, how
- 2:38:28Speaker 57: are we going to get it under control? And there
- 2:38:32Speaker 57: hasn't been a budget for decades. And he hit over
- 2:38:36Speaker 57: and over, very politely, though, very polite, that Courtney's been
- 2:38:41Speaker 57: in long enough, it's time to go home. And you
- 2:38:43Speaker 57: could hear Courtney got annoyed.
- 2:38:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and, you know, the thing is people look at
- 2:38:48Speaker 1: Rosa DeLauro and they say, why is she still there?
- 2:38:50Speaker 1: She's an idiot, the purple hair, da-da-da-da-da. She is on
- 2:38:54Speaker 1: appropriations in Congress, to your point, and she's there with
- 2:38:57Speaker 1: a couple of other bats known as Nancy and Debbie,
- 2:39:00Speaker 1: and they hand out money for things that they think
- 2:39:03Speaker 1: are important, and they still pull a lot of weight
- 2:39:05Speaker 1: whether they're in power or not, and it's a shame.
- 2:39:08Speaker 1: It's not controlling the budget. It's who can I throw
- 2:39:10Speaker 1: money at? And, of course, Rosa's a master of, like,
- 2:39:14Speaker 1: She lets her staff do the work. Again, she pays
- 2:39:17Speaker 1: her staff while they hate her guts. And she lets
- 2:39:19Speaker 1: her staff do the work, and she comes in at
- 2:39:21Speaker 1: the end, and she cries poverty and Trump and poor
- 2:39:24Speaker 1: mouth and all this other stuff. I'd like to get
- 2:39:26Speaker 1: to one more caller.
- 2:39:27Speaker 49: Okay, thank you.
- 2:39:28Speaker 1: Thank you. And then we've got Jimmy from Lisbon who's
- 2:39:30Speaker 1: going to take us home.
- 2:39:31Speaker 25: Hey, Jim.
- 2:39:33Speaker 36: Good morning.
- 2:39:35Speaker 49: Good to talk to you, Tony, but I'll keep it quick.
- 2:39:38Speaker 49: I think the most important thing that George said in
- 2:39:40Speaker 49: that debate yesterday was, Joe has not won one single
- 2:39:45Speaker 49: contract for the submarine. The workers at EB for years
- 2:39:51Speaker 49: and years have no contract.
- 2:39:57Speaker 1: It's amazing to sit there and thrust out your chest
- 2:40:02Speaker 1: and say, look at what I've done. And basically... You know,
- 2:40:05Speaker 1: you're not doing anything. You're just sitting there and you're
- 2:40:07Speaker 1: delivering out the money and taking credit for it. And, Jim,
- 2:40:10Speaker 1: let me tell you, nothing bothers me more than that.
- 2:40:14Speaker 1: There's nothing that it's just I just can't deal with phoniness.
- 2:40:19Speaker 1: And it's just that that that isn't the act of
- 2:40:21Speaker 1: pure phoniness, at least to me and in my brain
- 2:40:25Speaker 1: or what's left of it.
- 2:40:26Speaker 49: It wouldn't kill him to credit the workers. That have
- 2:40:29Speaker 49: done the job that won the contract.
- 2:40:31Speaker 1: For years and years and years. And, you know, I
- 2:40:35Speaker 1: do not see the benefit for this region other than
- 2:40:38Speaker 1: the fact that he's handing out what's been appropriated to him.
- 2:40:41Speaker 1: Anything else? We've got about a minute.
- 2:40:44Speaker 43: Oh, man.
- 2:40:46Speaker 49: I want people to pray, Tony.
- 2:40:48Speaker 34: We've got to pray.
- 2:40:49Speaker 49: This might be the last election we get to vote in.
- 2:40:54Speaker 1: That's what we've been talking about all morning.
- 2:40:56Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:40:58Speaker 1: You and me, and we heard it at the beginning,
- 2:41:00Speaker 1: and we're going to hear it now. Jim, thanks so much.
- 2:41:04Speaker 1: God bless. 94.9 News and Stimulating Talk. I thoroughly enjoy it.
- 2:41:09Speaker 1: We won't have a joke today because I wanted to
- 2:41:11Speaker 1: allow time for the callers. But this has really been,
- 2:41:15Speaker 1: I think, an incredibly great show, at least for me.
- 2:41:18Speaker 1: I don't know if you liked it or not, but
- 2:41:19Speaker 1: I did. Special thanks, Bob Lazeri, Bob Swick and the
- 2:41:23Speaker 1: Power Hour. The incomparable John Sanders, John Fuller, and all
- 2:41:28Speaker 1: the great callers. Last of my Temporary Tuesdays coming up
- 2:41:32Speaker 1: next week, and that's game day, people. Pray, vote, and
- 2:41:36Speaker 1: as more than one, two, or three people have said,
- 2:41:40Speaker 1: America is on the ballot this coming week. God bless you, everybody.
- 2:41:46Speaker 1: Have a great day. Enjoyed being here.
