- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Her product is beyond phenomenal, and I'm sure most of you have used it or know somebody who has used it.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to Tara Peterson.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Tara, welcome to the show.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Um, you are she is the co-founder of New Face, in case you guys didn't know, and I'm so, so excited she's here with us.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Thanks for having me.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Happy me.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: It's my pleasure.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: I'm so glad you made the time to come onto our show.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: I was dying to talk to you.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm so happy to hear that you love New Face so much, and I can answer all your questions.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: I love talking about New Face and kind of sharing our story.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: So thanks for having me on.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I want you to share the whole story.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Like, can you do like a deep dive?
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Like, start from the beginning.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: Like, what inspired you?
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: How did you even get into beauty?
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: And you know what I mean?
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: Like, I want all the nitty-gritty details.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: So I think we have a fun story.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: So uh New Face was created by my mom, my sister, and I.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: We launched New Face back in 2005.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: So it was and and still is one of the most innovative at-home devices.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: We're one of the pioneers.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: So we actually put at-home devices on the map.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: And I can't believe it's been, you know, almost 16 years later.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: But to go back in the day, you know, my mom's been working with microcurrent technology since 1985.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And if you just think about what you were doing in 1985, truly she was a pioneer for her time, the fact that she was utilizing microcurrent skincare.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: So she started her career off at the Golden Door Spa, which is in San Diego, California.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: And, you know, it's a very high-end destination spa.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: So she was seeing celebrities and politicians and screenwriters and directors, and she just heard common concerns from her clients of I'm tired of looking tired, or I'm tired of seeing gels or droopy eyelids.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: And when she was first introduced to microcurrent, it was like this aha moment for her of like, this is my purpose, like this is this is my calling.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: And from that day on, she really dedicated her life, and she still practices microcurrent.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: She's almost 72 years old.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: She'll still see clients.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: So these very affluent clients from LA started pulling her up to their homes, and so she would travel three days a week and go to LA and treat the most beautiful faces in Hollywood.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And she did this for 15 years.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: So she was Sunday morning, and I was a little girl, you know.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: So I was in elementary school when she started doing this, and she was gone month uh Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: She would come home at like 2 a.m.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: on technically Wednesday morning.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: So she's always just been truly a pioneer, but a hard worker, and she's dedicated again her life to to New Face and to microcurrent.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: So she did this for 15 years.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: So imagine going across LA, which if you're not sure or you don't know the distance between San Diego and LA, where we live in San Diego, we're based in San Diego.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: It's you know a two-hour drive.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: So without traffic.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: So wow, that's dedication.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: Sitting through that traffic.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: Totally, right?
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: So 15 years, and you know, of course, she's getting older and her clients are getting older, and she really recognized the need for more frequent microcurrent treatments.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: So she wanted to develop a handheld device.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: So this is the early 2000s.
- 4:29SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: And she started thinking about it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: And as she was kind of playing with the idea, she was talking to me, and I had already graduated from college at this point.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Um, I was doing sales and marketing, and you know, one day I just kind of had this epiphany of hey, we should do this together.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: So I called up my mom.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: I remember vividly, yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: This day I sat outside of my office on a bench, and within an hour conversation, we decided that I was gonna go to esthetician school because I wanted to learn the industry inside and out.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And so for six months, I did sales by day, and then at night I was going to school as an esthetician and then practiced for a number of years as I was writing the business plan for New Phase.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: So you actually went to school even though you had this like you know background and you were basically trained by your mom, but you still decided to go to aesthetician school.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: That's pretty cool.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Well, I really wanted to know, and I wanted to relate to estheticians, right?
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: I I actually didn't know if I would even like it.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: My mom always likes to tell people this story, which it's so embarrassing now, but I'll tell it because I think you'll get a kick out of it.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: During that one hour call with my mom, I said, Mom, you know, I'm so upset with you.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: And she said, Why?
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: And I said, You never asked me to come work with you.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: And she's like, Tara, let me remind you.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: When you're 16 years old, I said you should become an aesthetician.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And she's like, Do you know the response you had?
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: And I said, What?
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: I get facials, I don't give facials.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Oh no, let them be like a total, like, you know, a typical teenage girl, right?
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: So, anyways, it's kind of become this this inside joke now.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And I never realized, you know, until I started working with clients, how magical it is.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: It truly is the most fulfilling career that I could ever imagine having.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: The relationship that's the relationships that you build with your clients, the just the problem solving, it's just the fact that you can really help give them confidence if they're struggling with you know their skin health.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: It truly is, it's so magical.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: And for all the aestheticians out there, or any of you that work in the beauty industry, I think it truly is the best industry that we could ever work in.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: It's just it's so fulfilling on so many levels.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, so that was 16 years ago.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And you know, our first device we launched um to our estheticians, and quickly they started using New Face in the treatment rooms, and then Bliss um Bliss World in New York City.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: If you remember the Bliss spas, yeah, they were one of our top partners.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: So they were one of one of the the retailers that really launched New Face.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and again, our first device was this very angular, I always describe it as, you know, it's so big you almost had to have two hands to like stake like the size of a small child.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: So um, needless to say, the device has evolved.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: We're on our third generation device.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: It's beautiful now.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: It is, it is so, and it's super easy to use.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: And for those of you at home that are listening, New Face specializes in microcurrent technology.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: So microcurrent is known as fitness for your face, so it lifts tones and contours your face.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: And I always like to educate my clients, you know, on the face, the skin and the muscles are connected, and it's the only place in the entire body that the skin and the muscles are connected.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: So if the muscles are sagging, then the skin's sagging.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Yes, and so we at New Face believe that if you're not stimulating your facial muscles, you're missing 50% of your total skin health.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: And so that's exactly what New Face does for you.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: It's not going to replace your skin care because that's your nutrition.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Your new face is your fitness, right?
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: It's going to stimulate those muscles to lift, tone, and contour, and it doesn't instantly.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: So we all get the gratification that we want, but then those results get better and better every time we use it.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: No, I've noticed it myself.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've I haven't been using it for, you know, a prolonged period of time, but the the I use it, you know, very diligently, and I have been noticing definite results.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I know that there's definitely science that's backing this beautiful product.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: And I that's one thing I wanted to actually bring up because I did a little bit of, you know, I'm a huge science geek.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: So I did, you know, I looked up some papers on microcurrent uh technology and stuff, and I found quite a bit on um wound healing with microcurrents, you know, and I and I was thinking about that because some of the gene regulation that happens with wound healing has to do with like, you know, fibroblasts and like, you know, um kind of recruiting the good cells back into you know where they should be.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: And I was thinking about your product and I'm like, this is exactly what it's doing.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think the paper I read, they said something about um, you know, 10 microamps per over 90 seconds for like true wound healing, you know what I mean?
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: And it was like phenomenal results, what they were talking about.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: So, you know, if you apply that to the dermatology standpoint, I completely see what you're saying.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: You know, you're really um, you're like kind of, I guess, um activating your skin to do what it's supposed to do, which is just balance itself, right?
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Totally, absolutely.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: So studies have shown with microcurrent underneath 600 microamps, which is kind of the sweet spot for your fit for your facial muscles.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, microcurrent will increase your AT by 500%.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: So your ATP by 500%.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: And anything above 600 microamps, it actually will start to deplete your ATP by 50%.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: So not all microcurrents created equal, and especially when you're utilizing microcurrent on the delicate facial muscles, you really want to use lower microamps.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: People think that oh, more is better, but with microcurrent, actually it's the opposite.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: The lower the microamp, the more rehabilitating, like you're talking about the wound healing.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then when you get up to you know, three, four hundred microamps, five hundred microamps, you're getting this instant lifting toning of the muscles.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: And then, of course, if you're getting above, you know, six, seven, eight hundred microamps, it actually is like too much current for the muscles, and they can be into kind of atrophy.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: So I always relate it to overwatering a plant.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: If you overwater a plant, you're gonna kill it, right?
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: So we truly want just that that's that amount of current and energy to go in to gently stimulate the muscles, and that's where the consistency comes into play.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: That's where it is really important to use new face, you know, two, three times a week, um, up to five times a week to get those cumulative results.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: But yeah, and I I actually wanted to ask you about, you know, with with the amplitude that you're using, um, you know, how much current?
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: Um, how did you decide?
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: When you were making the technology and really um putting it together from the engineering standpoint, how did you come to that really nice balance of this is how much current we want to deliver over, you know what I mean?
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Like was there like a whole process?
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, did you guys do a lot of trial and error with it?
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Or well, remember at that point, you know, 2005 when we launched New Face, you know, my mom has had been working with microcurrent for over 20 years.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: You know, so it wasn't this, we weren't stepping into this technology that was so unknown.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: We knew the results because we've seen before and afters from our clients over this, you know, 20, 30 year span.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: So it wasn't like, what is what is the microamps that we're gonna use?
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: What is the hertz we're gonna use?
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: We already knew that.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: What came into play is how do you take a big professional treatment that takes an hour to deliver to your clients and actually downsize it to a handheld device that your clients could lift and tone their face in five minutes.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: And that's where that's where it took five years to to create that configuration that made sense.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that that's I mean, it shows, you know.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: I think and the reason I ask is because I think it's a beautifully crafted um product.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: I think the engineering is just phenomenal, you know, that went behind it.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: And so I I just want to commend you.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: You've made a really, really great product.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: So well, your mom did, and then you made it better.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, I always say with my mom, my sister, and I, it's it's like this triangle.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: We all have different talents and we all came together at a perfect time.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, my mom with over you know 30 years of experience with microcurrent, I had the more of the sales and marketing than my sister was in operations.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: And so yeah, that is kind of perfect little trio, if you will.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: So I want you to go, Tara, I want you to go into um, I know we had discussed this before the the interview, but I want you to go into how to use the device.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: And I have everybody out there, I have Tara on video right now.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: So she's gonna show me and I'm gonna try to explain um what she's you know, her procedure and how she's going about it.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: But I also um upload this specific video clip onto our Instagram story so everyone can watch.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: So it's super easy, and I'm pinning my hair back.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Um, and I don't have any face that makeup on.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: So I do have a bold red lip right now, some mascara, and that's it.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Um, so you always want to use your new face on clean, dry skin.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Um and so I'm gonna use some products that we're actually creating right now.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: So I can't show them to you, but we do have some really fun products that we're innovating.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: So, what you want to do, and this is this is what's really, really important, is you always lift half your face first because it delivers instant results.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: And so when you lift half your face, you can compare and contrast each side.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: So I'm putting the the gel primer all over my neck, and you need a conductor when you do the current.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, when you work with microcurrent, think about it.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: If you're pregnant, the ultrasound tech's gonna put a conductivity gel on the belly to see the baby.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: Same goes with microcurrent, is you need a conductor that's gonna transfer the current directly to the muscles.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: How much do you need though, Tara?
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: Like of the gel?
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: Like how much do you need to put on?
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Not a lot, right?
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Not a lot, like a gel, like a mask-like layer.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: So you want it to have a nice slip to it.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Um, because you never want to pull at the skin.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: But anytime the gel starts to dry, you may feel kind of the tingling a little bit more.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Um, and so after you put a mask-like layer, you're gonna go ahead and and turn on your device.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: And I'm using the Trinity here, and I always lift on high, even for clients that are brand new to New Face.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: I always lift on high.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Um, again, it's still at high, is a 335 microamps.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: So it's still in that perfect microamp range.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: And so you're starting from like the midline of your neck and you're moving outwards in terms of the lifting, right?
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: So you start.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: So basically imagine three arrows going, you know, from the collarbone to the back of the neck, working from off-center to the back of the neck, and then you're taking three glides basically up.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: So you're working this first kind of lower neck, the device will beep.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: And then you take another step up, and then you're slowly gliding towards the back of the neck.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: So you want to wait till it beeps before you lift it up and do it again.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: And then this third glide is right underneath that jawline where you're really contouring that jawline.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: That's the area that I always hear from my clients is how can I really define that jawline or the neck?
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: This is how you're going to do it.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Is the only at-home device that's FDA cleared to treat the muscles of the face.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: And so we always say don't neglect the neck.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: It is one of the kind of the second areas that starts to show your age.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: And you really do see it in your 30s.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Like I'm in my 30s now, and I'm like, oh my god, my neck is aging.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: Well, girlfriend, wait till you hit 40.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: It really starts to change.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: Hey, 40 is the new 30.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: So after you've done three glides, you repeat that three times, and then you're gonna move up to your cheek area.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: And you're basically now.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: Do you recommend the same gel for the cheek area, or do you have like a different product that you like to use, like a different type of gel that you use for it?
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: So it's the same gel.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: And then you're gonna start on the nasal labia folds, kind of the smile lines, with the bottom sphere right on the jawline.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: And then you're gonna glide towards the lobe of the ear.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: And you're gonna take a step up, do that similar glide towards the middle of the ear, and then one step up from the nasal lavia fold to the top of the ear.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: And then you're gonna repeat that two more times.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: So it's so basically everyone listening out there, Tara is basically going in almost like that contour area of your face where we usually contour with makeup, like she's going in in that whole, you know, like that upward motion.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, starting, like you said, nasolabial folds and then going moving upwards.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: So that's that's awesome.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: And if any of you at home are like you're looking at your face, and maybe you want to pop your cheekbone, maybe you want to define your jawline, maybe you want to reduce the gels or lift the nasal labia folds, the smile lines, or lift the brows.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: This is the device that you want.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: This is what it's gonna do.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: It's gonna lift, tone, and contour the muscles of the face.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: And so remember when I was saying the muscles in the skin are connected.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: So it's so important to really stimulate those muscles just like we exercise our bodies, and they're so thin too.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: I think no one talks about how thin facial muscles are.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: Like I remember, like in medical school when we first saw them, I was like, oh my gosh, it's like paper thin.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: Like they're very, very delicate.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: And so that's why you don't want this large amount of microcurrent or energy to go into those delicate facial muscles.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: They are very small, so it's right truly more, is not better.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Um, and with microcurrent, like we were talking about with these clinical studies, it's so good for so many things like wound healing, like pain relief, bell's palsy.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: But for the aesthetic industry, you know, it does have that kind of non-invasive facial lift aspect to it.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: And so right now, um, you're moving it upwards towards your brow bone, and that's fine to do, right?
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: We can just keep moving it upwards as we're contouring.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: And then now I'm gonna go up to my forehead.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: And this is a five-minute treatment, so you can lift your face.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: I was gonna ask you like how much time do you spend on each side of your face?
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: You know, like um, how many times do you do it on each side of it?
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: Wow, okay.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: So don't think that you need to dedicate, you know, half your life to lifting your face.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: You just really it it is a five-minute treatment.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: If you want to lift longer, then go for it.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: You can lift for up to 20 minutes.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and but this is your multitasking tool.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: You're gonna be like grabbing your coffee, having your coffee in the morning, watching Instagram, watching the news, you're gonna be on a conference call, you're gonna be on a Zoom.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: You know, this is your multitasking tool.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: I've spoken to so many editors and influencers, and they're like, I just use this when I'm on my Zoom calls.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Yeah, brilliant, right?
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: No, I'm gonna start carrying it everywhere.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Like if I'm like in line Starbucks, I'm just gonna do my new face.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: I should tell you so many stories on what I've seen on Instagram of how and where people are are lifting.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: I I love that though.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: That means that you're, you know, your product is something everyone loves.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: And that's like the whole for me, see, that's the essence of creating good skincare products.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, like we have like we're talking about, you know, research and science, and that's beautiful.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: And I I want everything to be backed by science, of course.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: But what you're showing us here, it's very, very innovative.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: And the science just hasn't caught up fully yet.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: We're they're there, they recognize the wound healing, you know, benefits.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: But I'm really curious to see when they publish.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Like just for the skin, you know, like what you're describing here.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Well, in the only at-home device, microcurrent device that does clinical studies behind it.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: And so, because we grew up in the professional channel, because our products are sold to plastic surgeons and dermatologists, we we have to do clinical studies.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: And so every single device that we launch actually has clinical studies.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: And I want you to look at my face here, look at my brow compared to this brow.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's beautiful.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: I love it, I definitely see it.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: Yes, everyone out there, genuinely, there's a difference.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: Like you can see the lift, like immediately, you can see it.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: That's crazy.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: You can see it looks like I have like little horns here.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: Look at how much more arched this eye is.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Over here, even when I smile, like look at how this part of my face is just like it's more contoured, and this looks just puffy.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Doesn't it?
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it looks like the other side looks as if it's it just needs like a little bit more tightening.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: It's like the other side is just perfect.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love it.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's really, really cool.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: And everyone lifts differently.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes I get amazing lift in my cheeks, other times it's in my forehead.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: So everyone lifts differently.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: And this is the exciting part of new face.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Always lift half your face because you may get this amazing pop in your cheekbone, or maybe you're gonna get it in your eyebrow, or maybe you're gonna get it in your jawline or the gels.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: And so it is super fun to lift your face.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: And even after 15 years, I always run over to the mirror and look at the instant facial lift because it's instant, and we all want that instant instant gratification.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: That's how easy it is.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: And that's one of our devices.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Of course, we have our fixed device, which is our mascara device, which is for fine lines and wrinkles.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love that one.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: That was like my favorite.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: It's tiny, but it does everything, especially for the eyebrow.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: I was actually gonna tell you, Tara, because this is something that for me is very personal.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: I've had TOSIS my whole life, and it's just a genetic thing.
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: It's not because of any kind of you know, pathology.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: And um, so my right eyelid droops a little bit.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: So when I was using the smaller device for a few days, I've noticed a difference in my TOSIS as well.
- 24:22SPEAKER_02: Right and it's amazing.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: And I've never had that result from anything else that I've tried for it.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: So it's it's really does it does what you're saying for sure.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: Well, and to your point, you know, the cosmetic benefits of new face are there, but when you can treat someone who's had Bell's palsy or has more of either a medical condition that um, you know, whatever it may be, and you can help someone, it truly is it becomes so satisfying because it just begins to be so gratifying.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: I can't you tell you how many times I've lifted someone's face and they just start to cry because of the results, or someone that doesn't like to look in the mirror anymore.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: And you start to show them the the lift in their face or the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and that emotional kind of connection you have with them.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: It just takes it to the next level.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: But to your point, I mean it truly delivers those results, and again, it just gets better and better and better the more you use it.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: The more you use it, right?
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And right now, everyone listening, Tara's doing her eyes with the smaller device, and it's beautiful.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: She's just going in circular motions and um kind of defining her eyes and lifting the eye area.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: Now, Tara, one question I have is with the smaller device, because the eye area has such delicate skin compared to our face.
- 25:53SPEAKER_02: Did is that something that we have to or that you had to keep in mind, or is is the new face just it's safe everywhere?
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: So it is safe everywhere.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: You can see that I actually can take it up to my lash line.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: And so imagine those kind of little like spider lines, those little fine lines right around the eye area, especially because we're all wearing masks right now.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: This is so great because it will just help to flood the skin with microcurrent.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: And that's exactly what the fix is doing is it's flooding the skin with microcurrent to naturally plump up those lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness, dark circles.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: It truly is that instant gratification, that quick fix.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: And it's super easy.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think that this that's the nice thing about it is especially with the fix, it doesn't matter which way you're going because we're working with the skin, where the larger device that I was working before is actually working with the muscles.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: So we have different devices that not only target the skin, target the muscles.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: We also have red LED, so it truly is more of a holistic approach to anti-aging.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: That's what New Face does.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Now, see, I would love for you to come out with a body version of New Face.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: Seriously.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, because you asked, let me show you.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Oh my god! We have that.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, I need that in my life.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: That's so cool.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: So this is a four-pronged device.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: It has more of a handle to it for everybody listening, and this is super easy to obviously, you know, both of us are women.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 90% of us have cellulite.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: This is for dimples, tightening up the skin.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: I have twin girls, so I always use it on my belly just to tighten up that skin.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Right, the legs, the arms, uh, the skin above the knees.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so this is microcurrent specifically for the body.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: So this actually is three times stronger than your face device.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: So I don't recommend to put this on your face, but it also has four spheres, so it really kind of gets into the bigger areas of the muscle.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: That's so cool.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: That's a really, really cool device.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: New body was the creation of our clients, they're the ones that were asking for it.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: And of course, you know, when you hear so many clients ask for a body device, we knew that we just had to we had to create one for them.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: You had to, yeah.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: And I and I love that.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: I love that you listen to your customers, and you know, that's very important for brands nowadays.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: So, but yeah, Tara, this is amazing.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: I love your product, and thank you so much for showing us how to use it.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: That's so important to do with device.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: So I want to ask you, I know you can't share too many details with us about what's coming up, but um, what is on the horizon for New Face?
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Um new and exciting, you know, uh breakthroughs, new innovations.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Can you tell us a little bit about it?
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: So we have some exciting new devices coming, um, skincare to really enhance your at-home experience.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: I can't share too much, but we have some really fun things happening um mid-year.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: Also, I want to do, I wanted to let you know your your gold gel, the gold-infused gel is oh my gosh, it is beautiful.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: It's a great product.
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: And I actually want to ask you, is there like a property of gold that helps with the microcurrent?
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: Well, why did you create that specific gel type?
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: So gold is a conductor, so it will conduct the current.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: Um, it's also just it's good for your skin.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Um, and so we have two different formulas.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: We have the gold gel, which comes with this beautiful brush on applicator, so it really creates for a mess-free treatment.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: Um, but we have a firm and then we have a brighten, and it truly is the gold, is is a step up of our gel primers.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: It's a serum and gel in one.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: So you're getting better skincare ingredients.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Microcurrent is known for product absorption.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: So it will help really like for instance, the brighton has niacinamide in it and licorice root, so it'll really help brighten your complexion as you're lifting, toning, and contouring.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: So it's kind of yeah, because I noticed like it's actually like the skincare results.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: I noticed as well when I was using that gel.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: So I was like, oh, this is lovely, so nice.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I love it.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Um, actually, I I I want to ask you a little bit about the routine because I know a lot of people get so confused with skincare, like, what should I use first?
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: And then how should I layer my stuff?
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: So, for everyone listening out there, um, would you agree that first we want to cleanse our face, use our new face device, and then layer on the rest of our skincare?
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: For the night?
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Cleanse your skin if you're gonna do an exfoliation, exfoliate, which is great because you want to remove any dead cells.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Dead cells could block the current.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: Um, so do your exfoliation.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: You could put a water-based serum on before your gel primer.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: It has to be water-based because oil will block the current.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: And then you have to use the new face activators that will conduct the current.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Lift and tone your face for five minutes, 10 minutes if you have longer.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: And then after that, you would put your moisturizer, SPF, makeup, and you're ready for the day.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: If you're using at night, obviously you just eliminate your SPF and makeup.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: Um, but super, super easy.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: All of our gel primers are leave-on formulas, so you don't even have to remove those.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: They all have very hydrating skincare ingredients.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I I can definitely tell.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: So I love that.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: I love that so much.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: And I have one more question, Tara, because I know right now there's a lot of um, you know, there's a lot of conversation in the beauty industry about, you know, um, some like philanthropy efforts or charity efforts that um bigger brands are kind of getting involved in.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Is there something that's kind of close to your heart that you've um kind of engaged in um as you've grown New Face?
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: So one thing in the past we've done is my mom is actually a breast cancer survivor.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: So we've done um some work with various foundations, but we're actually in the planning process to um launch something really new and exciting for the brand, something that's really close to the family's heart.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so we'll be able to share that in the next few months as well.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: Maybe I can invite you back on and you can tell us about it when it works.
- 32:29SPEAKER_01: I would love it.
- 32:29SPEAKER_01: I would love to.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: Well, everyone out there, this has been one of my favorite episodes.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much, Tara.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna upload the video portion of Tara demonstrating how to use New Face.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna put that up on our um on our Instagram page, so stay tuned for that.
- 32:44SPEAKER_02: And if you guys have any questions, leave them on the cover art.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: I will pass them along to Tara's team.
- 32:49SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, thank you so much.
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: This was amazing.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Thanks for having me and continue to lift your face.
- 32:56SPEAKER_02: Yes, absolutely.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: I'm uh I'm a forever facelifter at this point.
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: Thanks so much for your time.
