- 2:19Speaker 1: just go down like a huge deal, a deal where
- 2:22Speaker 1: it's like, I don't know how to react right now,
- 2:26Speaker 1: because we still have to record our show and we
- 2:29Speaker 1: have to bring the juice and I have to bring
- 2:30Speaker 1: the juice and we have to be optimistic. Yes, dude,
- 2:33Speaker 1: because you're you're my mate. Dude, Yeah, you're my teammate
- 2:39Speaker 1: in the squadron.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I'm in the foxhol with you. You're in the foxhole
- 2:43Speaker 3: with me, quite literally.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And you said, and to be in the foxhole with somebody, yep,
- 2:47Speaker 1: you got to know that the guy you're in the
- 2:49Speaker 1: foxhole with has your back, has every angle covered, if
- 2:54Speaker 1: that's their role. And I I patch you on the
- 3:02Speaker 1: back and you shit in my hand.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe you patted me on the back a little
- 3:06Speaker 3: too much, but I haven't. We did the performance reviews
- 3:10Speaker 3: last week, I know, and that went well. We talked
- 3:14Speaker 3: about details, and we talked about structure, and we talked
- 3:17Speaker 3: about my weakest point, the fine details and having it
- 3:23Speaker 3: written down, having it written down, But this was something
- 3:26Speaker 3: that doesn't need to be written down. This is something
- 3:29Speaker 3: that does not need to be written down. It's right
- 3:31Speaker 3: up there with breathing in the production world, I would say,
- 3:35Speaker 3: or drinking enough water.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Papa Team six, Moms Dads, Seeming Team six, CE Team
- 3:40Speaker 1: six need to know as they're listening to this, I'm
- 3:46Speaker 1: very frustrated.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I need to.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Talk about my feelings. It makes me angry. I think
- 3:52Speaker 1: this is health feel alone when you do behaviors like that.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, tell them well. First off, I would
- 4:02Speaker 3: love to create a safe space for Will to continue
- 4:04Speaker 3: to get this off his chest, because I feel like
- 4:06Speaker 3: that's the best way to deal with it, to dive
- 4:08Speaker 3: right in. I forgot to hit the record button on
- 4:12Speaker 3: both audio and video.
- 4:15Speaker 1: We were recording for how long Chef Chef has a mic?
- 4:18Speaker 1: By the way, Chef was the leader of Semen Team
- 4:21Speaker 1: six at the moment he has a mic now being
- 4:26Speaker 1: able to chime in so you don't have to hear
- 4:27Speaker 1: him from far away.
- 4:28Speaker 2: We were going about forty five minutes.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Great job of keeping it under an hour. We were
- 4:34Speaker 3: just about to keep it under an hour. It was
- 4:36Speaker 3: potentially maybe the first time ever.
- 4:38Speaker 2: We were on the lesson.
- 4:41Speaker 3: The episode was almost done. Will was getting into his
- 4:44Speaker 3: lesson and I look over at the audio and the
- 4:47Speaker 3: video and I see no red light like I do
- 4:50Speaker 3: now to where it's rolling.
- 4:52Speaker 1: We recorded for forty five minutes, and it was so
- 4:57Speaker 1: much fun and it was going so well, and sure
- 5:03Speaker 1: him stands up and he's like grinning at chef, like
- 5:06Speaker 1: pointing down.
- 5:07Speaker 2: At the little what's that called zoom recording?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Little zoom recorder. I look over a shom. I'm like,
- 5:12Speaker 1: what's up? And he's like, I didn't hit record. So
- 5:16Speaker 1: I'm like, so we didn't get anything that we just
- 5:19Speaker 1: the last forty five minutes, nothing.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Nothing chalked up to the wind. He's like, I'm so sorry, Well, dad,
- 5:27Speaker 3: I just.
- 5:32Speaker 2: If I can add it was dead silent for maybe
- 5:35Speaker 2: five minutes.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah, no one spoke. That's a long time around here too,
- 5:39Speaker 3: because we got a lot of talkers, especially in this
- 5:41Speaker 3: room because.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It's Friday right now. It's a Friday adviser supposed to
- 5:45Speaker 1: be up watching all this ship that he was down
- 5:49Speaker 1: in the shop. This is the safe space. This is
- 5:53Speaker 1: this is the space that it's like, get to go
- 5:55Speaker 1: have some fun, get to go have some fun with
- 5:58Speaker 1: my boy.
- 5:59Speaker 3: With your boy. That light you down. I'm the one
- 6:02Speaker 3: that's I get.
- 6:04Speaker 1: We get we play video games, but don't get to
- 6:05Speaker 1: see all week. You're you're you're a bright light.
- 6:08Speaker 3: In the shop.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and I just came in. I ship in your
- 6:12Speaker 2: hand quite.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Literally, and I'm stuck because I'm like, I have to
- 6:18Speaker 1: accept this and get over it as fast as possible
- 6:21Speaker 1: because we still have to record for the dads.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yeah, shut have that fun. Yes, we said, we still
- 6:26Speaker 3: have to tell people to subscribe. We still have to
- 6:27Speaker 3: read reread all the Greek comments we loved in the
- 6:31Speaker 3: comments section about Papa Team six because Papa Team six
- 6:34Speaker 3: is growing and we gotta tell the same story again.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But that's okay because they're they're really good stories and
- 6:42Speaker 3: I would love to hear it again and just say
- 6:44Speaker 3: shout out. This is not getting points from Will you
- 6:49Speaker 3: have recovered very well? You ten minutes ago? Is they
- 6:52Speaker 3: different you right now?
- 6:54Speaker 4: You were?
- 6:54Speaker 3: You've recovered? How tints? How do you feel on the
- 6:58Speaker 3: scale of one to ten?
- 7:00Speaker 1: I don't know, dude, you look like a feeling what
- 7:04Speaker 1: way like we're talking like good mood.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Now, just able to go because you look like a seventh,
- 7:12Speaker 3: like a high seven right now? Good? I believe it.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Hey, he didn't hit record.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Good the guy that you put a ton of trust
- 7:22Speaker 3: in to make sure everything operates and he fails. Good?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Good?
- 7:26Speaker 3: Oh?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Hey, Papa Sherm who said he was gonna show up
- 7:28Speaker 1: at eight thirty and get with chef to go over
- 7:30Speaker 1: details and structure and line out a process of the
- 7:33Speaker 1: show so there's no mishaps.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Shirhan didn't show up in eight thirty? What's under the
- 7:38Speaker 2: show up?
- 7:38Speaker 3: I don't know what time he showed up.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It was like nine to ten.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Guess what Your boy doesn't show up? Good?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Instead, he sends you a picture of a raccoon in
- 7:46Speaker 1: a cage on his roof, saying victory.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Good good.
- 7:56Speaker 1: He's trying his weasel way out of why he wasn't.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I texted sure and back when he sent me that.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I was like, great creative way of letting me know
- 8:03Speaker 1: that you're not here at the shop by the time
- 8:05Speaker 1: you said you'd be at the shop.
- 8:07Speaker 2: True.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Worst part of that is I didn't even know what
- 8:10Speaker 3: time it was, to which I replied to your text, Fuck, yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 3: vibes are up, man, vibes are still up. Vibes are
- 8:21Speaker 3: still up. God, do you want to get into comments?

- 17:23Speaker 3: your call in international callers six O one the dads
- 17:27Speaker 3: at gmail dot com.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yes, and the highline gets active later in this episode.
- 17:33Speaker 1: At the top, we usually obviously tell stories, We talk
- 17:35Speaker 1: about dad losses, we talk about moments. We crack a
- 17:37Speaker 1: cold one too. Yep, what are the odds? What's another segment?
- 17:43Speaker 1: We got a lesson or a quote or a topic
- 17:45Speaker 1: of the day that we come across and we might
- 17:46Speaker 1: be leaning into to help just better ourselves as fathers,
- 17:49Speaker 1: because we go through a lot of tough moments, which
- 17:52Speaker 1: we'll be getting into with some of the dad losses.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and also survival kid dad hack we kind
- 17:57Speaker 3: of go through again not experts, I know, we said
- 18:00Speaker 3: that at the top, not experts, but we do. We
- 18:04Speaker 3: try and put some people on game. We try to
- 18:07Speaker 3: help the dads out there.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Full episode. Full episode there. We're gonna keep it under
- 18:12Speaker 1: an hour.
- 18:12Speaker 3: We're going to keep it under an hour. You want
- 18:15Speaker 3: me to kick off dad loss? Please? All right? So
- 18:19Speaker 3: you're gonna include this in the loss? Yeah, I definitely
- 18:23Speaker 3: can so Dad losses. This week one, I took Scarlet
- 18:28Speaker 3: on a walk with my mom. She's in town. Shout out,
- 18:31Speaker 3: miss Amy, she's helping us out with Scarlet.
- 18:34Speaker 2: She's in town.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Right after Jill's mom, my mother in law, Lisa. Shout out.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Lisa was in town for a week as well. Miss
- 18:44Speaker 3: Amy loves her nighttime walks, and all she wanted to
- 18:47Speaker 3: do was take her newborn granddaughter on a walk. Jill
- 18:51Speaker 3: was a little hesitant. She didn't know if it was
- 18:53Speaker 3: smart because of the temperature, a little hot outsides, a
- 18:56Speaker 3: little hot outside. Sun was down, and I talked Jill down.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I said, hey, it's okay, it'll be a short walk,
- 19:03Speaker 3: huge dad loss. She had the onesie on, long sleeves
- 19:08Speaker 3: covering her hands, her feet, so by the time that
- 19:11Speaker 3: we got home, she truly felt like a hot potato
- 19:15Speaker 3: and for like a newborn or a dad to a newborn.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I have no idea what's going on when I'm feeling
- 19:23Speaker 3: her temperature that hot and she's screaming like I've never
- 19:27Speaker 3: heard her scream before, and it just shoots like shock
- 19:30Speaker 3: waves of anxiety, worry, guilt. As you're watching her cry.
- 19:37Speaker 3: It feels so painful, and it really does, especially when
- 19:40Speaker 3: you're I knew for a fact that it was my fault,
- 19:44Speaker 3: very similarly to me forgetting to hit the record button,
- 19:49Speaker 3: but unlike me forgetting to hit the record button and
- 19:52Speaker 3: being able to communicate with Will and us work through it,
- 19:57Speaker 3: all she can do is cry. Yeah, And so you're like,
- 20:00Speaker 3: because you're just you're holding them close, you're apologizing.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, maybe you're testing a little bit. Hey, you're
- 20:05Speaker 1: crying a little too hard here, Like you got to
- 20:07Speaker 1: toughen up at some point.
- 20:08Speaker 3: All you do is eat, sleep, and shit every day
- 20:10Speaker 3: you get together. What are we doing, Yeah, let's create
- 20:13Speaker 3: some thick skin. Like if I'm me a you know what,
- 20:16Speaker 3: you step out of the road. If I'm being honest
- 20:18Speaker 3: with you, you're kind of being a little litch right now.
- 20:20Speaker 3: It was what you're kind of being soft and lazy.
- 20:22Speaker 3: You don't do nothing throughout the day. You can't go
- 20:24Speaker 3: on a little brisk walk and get a little sweat going.
- 20:26Speaker 3: It was eighty one degrees outside. You know, you know
- 20:28Speaker 3: where Dad does it's from That is just from Texas. Yeah,
- 20:31Speaker 3: well it's one hundred and eighth degrees outside.
- 20:33Speaker 1: You know, we don't cry over Tennessee heat. Here, I'll
- 20:35Speaker 1: take you down with Texas. I'll give you something to
- 20:36Speaker 1: cry about.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Oh the humidity, it is good for your skin. What
- 20:40Speaker 3: is she? Two weeks?
- 20:41Speaker 2: Two weeks?
- 20:42Speaker 3: Yeah, two weeks and just cooking and miss Amy's arms.
- 20:46Speaker 3: And we didn't we didn't realize it until you get
- 20:49Speaker 3: home and Jill said, I was beating myself up, like
- 20:54Speaker 3: really bad. I was pissed off at myself and just
- 20:57Speaker 3: kind of like getting quiet, not shutting down full, but
- 21:00Speaker 3: just like start peddling around the house to distract myself.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You had so much anxiety on the first recording we
- 21:06Speaker 1: did before this episode, when we were recording the other episode,
- 21:11Speaker 1: you had so much anxiety that you wanted to go
- 21:13Speaker 1: to the emergency room.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I did, you know, I truly in my head, I
- 21:17Speaker 3: didn't go to the hospital. I was like, we gotta
- 21:19Speaker 3: go to the hospital because and this was before I
- 21:21Speaker 3: woke up Jill. She's a nurse are in so she
- 21:24Speaker 3: was able to, you know, take care of the situation
- 21:27Speaker 3: very quickly. It was like, Oh, just take off her
- 21:28Speaker 3: onesie and go into the coldest room in our house
- 21:31Speaker 3: and stand next to the ac man. She'll be fine,
- 21:34Speaker 3: Like she's gonna be great. And in my head, oh, yeah, dude,
- 21:38Speaker 3: I just wanted to do the thermometer, which that's a
- 21:41Speaker 3: whole thing because it's an anal thermometer at their age,
- 21:44Speaker 3: and I'm thinking in my head, Oh, my gosh, Jill's
- 21:46Speaker 3: gonna be pissed off at me. Now we gotta do this.
- 21:49Speaker 3: We gotta put this thing up her bombs. She's gonna
- 21:51Speaker 3: be Scarlet's gonna be pissed. It's gonna be in my
- 21:54Speaker 3: mom's here. Hey mom, I'm a great dad. I just
- 21:57Speaker 3: you know, cooked my newborn child in the sun. But
- 22:01Speaker 3: it all worked out. At the end of the day,
- 22:04Speaker 3: everything was fine, and Jill said, we learned best from
- 22:07Speaker 3: our losses. Love her composure in that moment, Yes, similar
- 22:11Speaker 3: to yours, similar to yours. Don't do that.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Sure, don't do that, Papa, Sure arm come on, my
- 22:20Speaker 1: dad loss is going to be I'm just laughing because
- 22:28Speaker 1: we're just retelling.
- 22:31Speaker 3: My dad.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Loss is going to be losing a verbal negotiation with
- 22:36Speaker 1: your toddler. I lost a verbal battle with Rue. We
- 22:39Speaker 1: usually eat dinner around six six thirty at night on
- 22:43Speaker 1: this given day. It was a couple of days ago.
- 22:46Speaker 1: It's around six thirty. She did a great job. I
- 22:48Speaker 1: was saying it on last week's episode. Trying to get
- 22:52Speaker 1: more protein going found these chicken nuggets. She loves the
- 22:55Speaker 1: chicken nuggets. Loves the chicken nuggets. Don't blase at some broccoli.
- 22:59Speaker 1: That'll be more of a crack a cold one situation
- 23:01Speaker 1: because I found a couple good little found a nice
- 23:04Speaker 1: little move when trying.
- 23:05Speaker 2: To get your toddler to eat vegetables.
- 23:07Speaker 1: She eats her dinner. It's around seven o'clock. That's where
- 23:11Speaker 1: we go upstairs to get Scottie ready for bedtime. Start
- 23:13Speaker 1: to prep Rue, like it's time to calm down. No
- 23:16Speaker 1: we can't watch TV. No you know can't do this,
- 23:19Speaker 1: or like just it's time to start relaxing a little
- 23:22Speaker 1: bit so we can get you upstairs, get you in
- 23:23Speaker 1: your pajamas, and start doing the bedtime routine. Rue wanted
- 23:27Speaker 1: to go to the playground, which is new. Usually it's
- 23:31Speaker 1: not like if we hit the playground.
- 23:33Speaker 3: We usually hit the playground, like when I get home,
- 23:35Speaker 3: we all go as a family and hit the playground.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Everybody's out, especially on the nice days. It's been the
- 23:39Speaker 1: hottest shit recently, so we have in the playground much.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Or she'll go to the playground with the namy, like
- 23:45Speaker 1: in the morning. She had already been to the playground
- 23:46Speaker 1: that day, but for whatever reason, the playground was on
- 23:48Speaker 1: her mind. She want to go to the playground. It's
- 23:50Speaker 1: seven o'clock at night. It's seven oh six. It's seven
- 23:55Speaker 1: o six and I'm sitting there. It's been a long
- 23:57Speaker 1: day we've been. We were at the bus not all day,
- 24:00Speaker 1: but got home probably around four thirty five o'clock. Yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 1: gang out the kiddos. You're playing on the ground. Scotty's
- 24:05Speaker 1: little nickname right now is scott Zilla because she goes
- 24:08Speaker 1: and terar rises anything going on. She's like army crawling everywhere.
- 24:11Speaker 1: It's adorable. But anything she sees on the ground she
- 24:13Speaker 1: goes like it's not it's not actual playtime. Until every
- 24:17Speaker 1: floor is just pulled off the shelf onto the ground.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Because she just wants to pull everything down. Or she
- 24:21Speaker 1: goes into Rou's room and she sees a tray a
- 24:23Speaker 1: railroad track set up, she just goes right for it
- 24:26Speaker 1: and just basically tears it all apart.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Oh no, Scott, Taylas Scott tell us she's all the way.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Grab her and dragger loving that too, gets upset.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Oh okay, got at. Those are moments where it's like, hey,
- 24:38Speaker 1: you were like this too.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you know what I mean. You're trying to
- 24:40Speaker 3: tell her, but she gets pretty worked up, like Scotty's
- 24:42Speaker 3: gonna get Oh no, she rubs honestly started calling her
- 24:46Speaker 3: Scott's Zilla.
- 24:47Speaker 2: No.
- 24:48Speaker 1: So charl will be downstairs say, like this morning, I'll
- 24:52Speaker 1: go upstairs and wake her up, and I'm kind of
- 24:53Speaker 1: laying with her bed. We're kind of having some jokes
- 24:55Speaker 1: and some smiles. I'm waking her up and everything. Then
- 24:57Speaker 1: Mom will come up with Scotty. Then we'll have all
- 24:59Speaker 1: of it in there, and then like she puts Scotty
- 25:02Speaker 1: on the ground and using Scottie just army army crawling
- 25:05Speaker 1: for the railroad tracks, and Rue like leans up out
- 25:07Speaker 1: of like her little bed, her little bed crib or
- 25:10Speaker 1: whatever it is.
- 25:10Speaker 2: It's like, oh no, She's like, oh no, I don't
- 25:12Speaker 2: want scott Zilla.
- 25:13Speaker 3: I don't want scott Zilla. I start laughing. I reach
- 25:16Speaker 3: and grab Scotty's little leg and just like drag her back.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I'm like nope, and then she'll like drag back and
- 25:21Speaker 3: then she'll just be army crawling again. Oh those godzella.
- 25:24Speaker 1: But got off track there. Rue wanted to go to
- 25:28Speaker 1: the playground. Yeah, you know when you're a parent and
- 25:30Speaker 1: it's just like, dude, it's close to bedtime. Like, no, Ru,
- 25:34Speaker 1: We're not going to the playground. That's gonna take like
- 25:36Speaker 1: thirty minutes or forty minutes by the time we get back,
- 25:38Speaker 1: Like bedtime is coming up, dude. Yeah, And you're just
- 25:41Speaker 1: sitting there as a parent, like a couple of things
- 25:43Speaker 1: are happening. Kid starts to break down. You're in this
- 25:47Speaker 1: like all right, if I fight this war, because that's
- 25:51Speaker 1: what it's gonna be, I'm essentially gonna have to strong
- 25:55Speaker 1: armor vocally or pick her up and take her upstairs,
- 25:59Speaker 1: and it's just going to be a battle the whole time.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Because she's gonna lose all of her composure. Or do
- 26:06Speaker 3: I find this do I find this route?
- 26:09Speaker 1: Do I find a negotiation tactic that can kind of
- 26:12Speaker 1: get her off, get her off topic, get her off,
- 26:14Speaker 1: killed her. But she's focused on going to the park. Yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: then it please.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I just want to swing. I just want to go
- 26:20Speaker 2: to the park.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Charl walks by with Scotty, and again it's seven o six.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Charl walks by Scotty. She's gonna go upstairs and sit
- 26:25Speaker 3: in the rocker and just easily put the bottle in
- 26:28Speaker 3: her mouth and put her asleep. Yeah, she's got the
- 26:31Speaker 3: relaxing mission. She's like, why you know, why don't you
- 26:34Speaker 3: take it to the park. And I'm just like, why
- 26:35Speaker 3: would you say that out loud? Like text that to me?
- 26:40Speaker 3: So maybe, yeah, I might think about it, but why
- 26:41Speaker 3: would you say that in front of rue, Because that's
- 26:44Speaker 3: just gonna confirm you the park dead park.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And she's like we can go fast, like we can
- 26:49Speaker 1: go quick. I was like, I'm all right now I'm
- 26:51Speaker 1: starting to come around, like, okay, I just need to
- 26:54Speaker 1: embrace this moment. Yeah, daughter wants to go to the park.
- 26:57Speaker 1: It's only seven oh six, It's only seven and ten
- 27:00Speaker 1: at this point. Yeah, we can go to the park
- 27:01Speaker 1: quick because park's not too far away. I can just
- 27:04Speaker 1: embrace this moment, even though I know I don't want to.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I just want to go up.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I want to have a nice, clean, fun bedtime. Ye.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I want to read a couple of books and just
- 27:14Speaker 1: put her to bed. But I'm now getting on board
- 27:17Speaker 1: with going to the park. So I'm like, all right,
- 27:19Speaker 1: how many minutes do you want to the park? And
- 27:21Speaker 1: she's like five minutes. All right, we can go to
- 27:24Speaker 1: the park. I give her a few more. I'm like, hey,
- 27:26Speaker 1: we can do ten minutes at the park. But we're
- 27:28Speaker 1: leaving after ten minutes. Do you understand, Yes, we're gonna
- 27:31Speaker 1: have a good, clean bedtime fast when we get home.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Do you understand, Yeah, all right, go get your shoes on.
- 27:38Speaker 1: We go to the park and honestly, like a blessing
- 27:41Speaker 1: of dis guys, we get to the park and it's
- 27:43Speaker 1: in there like she's like, Dan, there's.
- 27:44Speaker 3: No kids there. There's nobody at the park. It's just us.
- 27:47Speaker 3: It was awesome.
- 27:48Speaker 1: We get out, it's quiet. She's like, why don't there
- 27:50Speaker 1: any kids? You hear the bugs in the background. She's like,
- 27:53Speaker 1: why aren't there any kids?
- 27:54Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, everybody's eating dinner or getting ready
- 27:57Speaker 3: for bed, like you.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Should be doing right now. But your dad. You gotta
- 28:00Speaker 2: cool dad.
- 28:01Speaker 1: You got a cool dad, pop a team six that
- 28:03Speaker 1: he wanted to take you to the park and spend
- 28:05Speaker 1: some time with you. Push her on the swing timer
- 28:08Speaker 1: it started on my watch, sweetheart, you got about six
- 28:10Speaker 1: minutes left.
- 28:11Speaker 2: What else do you want to do?
- 28:12Speaker 3: We hit the slide. She goes down. By how many
- 28:14Speaker 3: times you want to go down the slide? She's like, uh.
- 28:16Speaker 1: She goes down once and she said, I want you
- 28:17Speaker 1: to come with me, Dad, Dad. So I'm like, all right,
- 28:19Speaker 1: I'll go down the slide three times, you know, low back,
- 28:21Speaker 1: trying to take care of it. Go down the site
- 28:22Speaker 1: three times, go three, one, two three. We're flying down.
- 28:26Speaker 1: We're having a great time. End up going five times.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Ten minutes turns into fifteen. She doesn't want to leave
- 28:31Speaker 1: the park. Knew that was gonna come. Getting here in
- 28:33Speaker 1: the swing. I'm like, sweetheart, we have to go. No,
- 28:35Speaker 1: I want to bob out, sweet art Rue, we have
- 28:38Speaker 1: to go home. You said ten minutes. We agreed on that.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Dad gave you fifteen because Dad loves you.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Cool dad.
- 28:44Speaker 3: But now it's time to go. She's starting to you know,
- 28:46Speaker 3: I'm like a sweetheart, We have to go or the
- 28:49Speaker 3: monsters are gonna come.
- 28:52Speaker 1: And prepar it's out there. Just be careful with how
- 28:55Speaker 1: you use the word monsters, because at that point I
- 28:58Speaker 1: turned it into a game.
- 28:59Speaker 2: The monsters are gonna come.
- 29:00Speaker 3: When the sun goes down. You gotta race to the
- 29:01Speaker 3: car for the monsters.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Get us the mask, the Grinch, Tafeedi, the Bear, all
- 29:06Speaker 1: these Monstersfi Tafeedi is the bad guy in Moana.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Oh no, is that the bat lady girl? Ohyeah, it's
- 29:14Speaker 3: like the girl. She's also like the mountain, the volcano.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yes TOFEEDI.
- 29:17Speaker 3: That's Orange Teafeedi, Yice Stefeedi's the green one where.
- 29:20Speaker 1: She turns good. But those are all of her mortal enemies.
- 29:23Speaker 1: The mask of Michael Myers mass that sits in the closet.
- 29:26Speaker 1: So the monsters come out. So we run in, and
- 29:30Speaker 1: you know, we get home probably eight o'clock, a little
- 29:34Speaker 1: past eight. Usually I'm hoping to be walking out of
- 29:38Speaker 1: her room from bedtime around eight o'clock, eight fifteen, But
- 29:40Speaker 1: we get home at eight. All right, it's bedtime, dude.
- 29:43Speaker 1: It takes an hour for me to get her to
- 29:45Speaker 1: go to bed. She just got energy she's having fun.
- 29:48Speaker 1: She's like that I want to read these books. I
- 29:49Speaker 1: want to read them by myself. I'm like, all right,
- 29:51Speaker 1: you can't read, but go ahead and look at the pictures.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Is she saying good night to anything?
- 29:55Speaker 1: No, she's just like saying, I guess what's on the picture.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I don't know what she's saying because I'm trying to
- 30:00Speaker 1: get her. I'm gonna make it easy for Hey, you
- 30:02Speaker 1: read the book, I'm gonna brush your hair while you're reading.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Knock that out instead of doing the last I'm gonna
- 30:06Speaker 1: lay out her pull up and her pajamas. Hey, these
- 30:09Speaker 1: are pajamas. Whenever you're ready to go, time to get
- 30:11Speaker 1: out of your clothes and stop reading the book. And
- 30:14Speaker 1: by the way, fancy Nancy. I am so over fancy Nancy.
- 30:17Speaker 1: It's fancy Nancy is so difficult for myself to read.
- 30:21Speaker 1: At times, I find myself sounding like a fourth grader
- 30:24Speaker 1: trying to read reading fancy Nancy, because it's it's these
- 30:27Speaker 1: fancy cursive letters or these these just me getting mad
- 30:32Speaker 1: about fay is these fancy letters that make it a
- 30:35Speaker 1: little difficult to read.
- 30:37Speaker 3: And there's a lot of verb. It's it's like fancy
- 30:39Speaker 3: Nancy gives you a lot of fancy words and then
- 30:41Speaker 3: gives you the definition of the fancy word, like this
- 30:44Speaker 3: is another name for doing this, and.
- 30:47Speaker 2: It's teaching them language and teaching them vocabulary.
- 30:49Speaker 3: I understand that, but there's too much going on with
- 30:51Speaker 3: fancy Nancy, and fancy Nancy kind of pisses me off.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Does it give you a good cadence?
- 30:56Speaker 3: Like is the does it feel like the formula is
- 31:00Speaker 3: the same on each page or is it almost like
- 31:03Speaker 3: it's structured so wildly that.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Bro, there's this one book that structured so wildly like
- 31:08Speaker 1: she's opening up her ooh La Lave fancy like Manny
- 31:11Speaker 1: Petty store or something like that. And on each one
- 31:14Speaker 1: there's also instructions of how to do a many petty
- 31:17Speaker 1: I skip those and read a few lines above and below.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But there's so much going on in these books. Some
- 31:23Speaker 1: stories are all right to read, you get through them.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Fancy Nancy didn't get a part in the play where
- 31:28Speaker 1: she wanted to be like a mermaid or something like that.
- 31:31Speaker 1: There's another one where she doesn't go to bed early,
- 31:33Speaker 1: so she's cranky the next day. And that's why it's
- 31:35Speaker 1: important to get your sleep. Come on, there's some good
- 31:37Speaker 1: messaging in Fancy Nancy, but overall, Fancy Nancy has too
- 31:40Speaker 1: much going on. Yes, and it again difficult for me
- 31:45Speaker 1: to read. And I'm not gonna say difficult like I
- 31:47Speaker 1: can't read. I'm saying difficult like all we have is
- 31:49Speaker 1: a night light on or like a lamp on when
- 31:51Speaker 1: I'm reading.
- 31:52Speaker 3: So it's a little darker in the room. So it's
- 31:54Speaker 3: a little it makes it a little more difficult to read.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Nancy did what the what the fuck she do?
- 31:59Speaker 2: What does she doing? What's Nancy?
- 32:01Speaker 4: Though?
- 32:02Speaker 3: I will say, Eloise at the Plaza?
- 32:04Speaker 2: Have you ever read that?
- 32:07Speaker 3: Possibly? Okay, because that that book, and this may be
- 32:10Speaker 3: a hot take, but that book is equally hard to
- 32:13Speaker 3: read because of the breaks in it. I want h oh,
- 32:16Speaker 3: the places you'll go doctor Sue's style, and then they
- 32:20Speaker 3: will have the new hat.
- 32:25Speaker 1: And I know when to my voice could flow. Yes,
- 32:29Speaker 1: it sounds like Nancy's kind of all over the place. Okay,
- 32:32Speaker 1: she's a tip out there for the for the parents.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Some of you might love Fancy Nancy. I got a
- 32:36Speaker 1: bone to pick.
- 32:36Speaker 2: With the little girl. Don't blame you. So I'm going
- 32:40Speaker 2: off on a tangent. I know we got to keep
- 32:41Speaker 2: this under an hour.
- 32:42Speaker 1: The dad loss is losing a verbal negotiation with your
- 32:45Speaker 1: little one after dinner time I ended up, but the park,
- 32:47Speaker 1: the park turned into a win. The loss then was
- 32:50Speaker 1: it took her an hour to get her down for bedtime.
- 32:52Speaker 1: The other loss was the ripple effect of saying monsters
- 32:55Speaker 1: at the park because at the end of bedtime she
- 32:57Speaker 1: wanted to ask about the monsters and can they get
- 32:59Speaker 1: in the house.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Know, they can't use their hands, they.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Don't know how to open doors, so they're not gonna
- 33:03Speaker 3: be an ouse. No, but what about outside?
- 33:05Speaker 1: They're not you know, highlight, they don't come out at nighttime.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Our monsters nice, Yeah, monsters are nice. Dad has friends
- 33:12Speaker 1: with the monsters. The comptons are in good standing with
- 33:15Speaker 1: the monsters, so they're not gonna mess with us. A
- 33:16Speaker 1: great family, great mons. Monsters know they're nice to us.
- 33:21Speaker 1: A matter of fact, they make a movie about nice monsters.
- 33:23Speaker 1: It's Monsters, Inc. We'll watch it on the next Pizza Friday.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Okay, what's this Pizza Friday?
- 33:29Speaker 1: So we're listening right now. It's July eighteenth Friday. Okay, family,
- 33:34Speaker 1: and now.
- 33:35Speaker 2: We're going to Canada tomorrow.
- 33:36Speaker 1: On the nineteenth of July, don't get back until the
- 33:38Speaker 1: next Sunday. So, people that are listening to the show
- 33:40Speaker 1: right now, you're boys in the middle of Canada going
- 33:42Speaker 1: on some hikes. I'm going with my uh, I'm going
- 33:45Speaker 1: with my best friend Nick and his family. We got
- 33:47Speaker 1: We're bringing both families. We're gonna have fun. We're going
- 33:49Speaker 1: on a lot of like nice excursions out there in
- 33:52Speaker 1: the Northwest. It's gonna be a lot of fun. That's
- 33:54Speaker 1: what I'll be doing currently. However, today on Pizza Friday,
- 33:57Speaker 1: as we're recording this podcast, we are watching Mynsters Inc.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Tonight because of the monsters ripple effect that this week
- 34:04Speaker 1: has had, because I brought up monsters at the playground.
- 34:07Speaker 1: I was doing my gas station run last night. Charle
- 34:09Speaker 1: was on rude, dirty rude duty, got Scottie down wonderfully
- 34:14Speaker 1: and uh so I went on my little gas station
- 34:16Speaker 1: run and go get me a couple of drinks.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Give me yeah.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Charli hopefully is not listening. But I get back
- 34:26Speaker 1: home and Charles like I had to stay. She had
- 34:27Speaker 1: me up there forever because she had to turn her
- 34:29Speaker 1: flashlight on and clear every part of her room because
- 34:31Speaker 1: of monsters. Oh no like hand up, that's on me.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I said monsters are going to come out when the
- 34:36Speaker 1: sun goes down. Now she thinks monsters are everywhere when
- 34:38Speaker 1: it's the nighttime.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Which is a healthy boundaries with outside and and uh
- 34:44Speaker 3: it being dark out. Yeah, ed by a learning lesson
- 34:48Speaker 3: as well. I feel like I've thrown the word monsters
- 34:50Speaker 3: around you. Just know how to use it. It's great,
- 34:53Speaker 3: it's great, ammo in the backpack, it's great, ammo on
- 34:56Speaker 3: the backpack. Just know how to use it because there's
- 34:58Speaker 3: gonna be a ripple effect with mine and having that
- 35:01Speaker 3: extra lore already built out for when those questions start coming.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Maybe on the drive home, you're telling yourself, okay, but
- 35:08Speaker 3: the monster they come at the park, they don't come
- 35:10Speaker 3: at the house. It's a little different exact because you
- 35:12Speaker 3: got the park monsters exactly.
- 35:14Speaker 1: My mistake as a dad was saying the monsters come
- 35:17Speaker 1: out when the sun goes down.
- 35:18Speaker 2: That's a blanket stand.
- 35:19Speaker 1: It's a blank universal suns down. Holy shit, monsters are
- 35:23Speaker 1: surrounding the house, not our house.
- 35:25Speaker 3: You know. They can't use their hands.
- 35:27Speaker 1: They don't know not open doors that it locks all
- 35:28Speaker 1: the doors anyway, sweetheart, No, no, they're not mean. Dad
- 35:32Speaker 1: has friends with them. A matter of fact, they just
- 35:34Speaker 1: talked to him. I came up here, I said, hey, don't.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Bother the ass. I was saying all this stuff. Oh no,
- 35:42Speaker 3: also a very selfish note that you bringing up Nick.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Dude.
- 35:45Speaker 3: It just it breaks my heart that you're gonna have
- 35:47Speaker 3: to tell them what I did today on forgetting to
- 35:50Speaker 3: hit record. You're gonna have to break that to Nick,
- 35:53Speaker 3: and that's Nick listens. He listens, Nick listens. He said
- 35:57Speaker 3: some very kind things about me. Shout out, he.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Did, you're like his favorite podcaster, left me down and
- 36:01Speaker 1: like outside the top ten.
- 36:04Speaker 3: But yeah, we'll revisit that list after this episode. I'm
- 36:07Speaker 3: sure he's gonna be like, you can't do that to
- 36:09Speaker 3: my boy. Well, he'll probably. He'll probably scold me for hey,
- 36:12Speaker 3: be easy on him.
- 36:13Speaker 2: It's a good boy. But you yell at him or something, Papa,
- 36:17Speaker 2: I didn't yell at you.
- 36:18Speaker 3: No, you didn't, you didn't.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I was very.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Frustrated, though.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Now I feel like we're getting to where we were
- 36:25Speaker 1: in the first podcast.
- 36:27Speaker 3: This is exactly the exact point where shit hit the fan.
- 36:30Speaker 3: So for listeners at home, these are all fresh takes.
- 36:35Speaker 3: This is where the fun begins. Yeah, this, how can
- 36:38Speaker 3: I tell you what we missed?
- 36:39Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead the top please, because we love engaging
- 36:43Speaker 1: with Papa Team said, dude, we got to the roll
- 36:45Speaker 1: call that's been going on on story and Twitter where
- 36:49Speaker 1: I'm sitting there and I'm getting getting a little feen,
- 36:52Speaker 1: little sky to the bottle and I take a little
- 36:53Speaker 1: selfie with a flex or a little selfie with a smile,
- 36:56Speaker 1: doesn't matter, and you just hit Papa Team six roll
- 36:58Speaker 1: call and people just calm and respond with photos.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Of them and their kids. I love it, love it too.
- 37:04Speaker 1: And again if you're listening, like I said in the
- 37:06Speaker 1: my Instagram story tag at for the Dad's pod, So
- 37:10Speaker 1: that way we can share those stories and share the
- 37:12Speaker 1: roll call that you guys are clocking.
- 37:14Speaker 3: In and doesn't even necessarily have to be one of
- 37:17Speaker 3: us that start the roll call.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Yes, Like if you're a night time and it's like,
- 37:20Speaker 1: oh I got hit the roll call, or you're having
- 37:22Speaker 1: a little tough moment, you're like.
- 37:23Speaker 2: You know what, I gotta hit a roll call.
- 37:24Speaker 3: A listener roll call would go crazy, would go crazy. Yeah,
- 37:28Speaker 3: if you want to retweet, if you're looking for some
- 37:31Speaker 3: uh whatso word? Where people are clicking, well, clout, but
- 37:37Speaker 3: they're clicking on your stuff. Engagement, engagement, you want to
- 37:42Speaker 3: engagement farm, I know a quick way to get a
- 37:44Speaker 3: Will Compton retweet little PT six check in.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I do love them when when everybody's like tagging
- 37:52Speaker 1: us about a dad's story or whatever it is, whether
- 37:55Speaker 1: they're hitting like a roll call, just checking in from
- 37:57Speaker 1: the trenches. Love this message, love this, love the lesson
- 38:00Speaker 1: or the quote or the story that dad hack, whatever
- 38:03Speaker 1: it is.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Yeah, when people write something that's that's that's the fastest
- 38:07Speaker 3: way to my heart.
- 38:08Speaker 2: It also it sticks out to me.
- 38:10Speaker 3: I've said this in our earlier podcast this morning of
- 38:13Speaker 3: the posts that Chef put up of the I Want
- 38:16Speaker 3: You Papa Team six, Yeah, Jill was mentioning that some
- 38:21Speaker 3: of her friends are even seeing those posts and they're
- 38:24Speaker 3: just like, I love the way that the podcast does
- 38:28Speaker 3: have this community of like checking in on the listeners.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Like it's not only like hey you win assured or
- 38:35Speaker 3: hey subscribe blah blah blah, but just like the constant like.
- 38:38Speaker 1: A PT six, how we dude the PT six people
- 38:42Speaker 1: saying ST six for Seed Team six or Semen Team six.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I love my Semen team six members, love it, love them.
- 38:48Speaker 3: I can't.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Did I say the bud's acronym? You did in the
- 38:53Speaker 1: second and the second.
- 38:54Speaker 2: In the in the second episode, but worth revisiting if
- 38:56Speaker 2: you'd like. I'm just glad it's out there.
- 38:58Speaker 3: So people even start utilizing that when they say bud straining,
- 39:01Speaker 3: it's like, now there's another inside joke of breeding until.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Dad status and then moms again. To go back into
- 39:08Speaker 1: the comments because we at the top of the episode
- 39:10Speaker 1: we kind of glossed over that.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Yeah, But Natalie Brown twenty four to seventy six, this
- 39:16Speaker 1: is for some mom names out there, She said, thirty
- 39:19Speaker 1: year old mom of three checking in from southeast Missouri.
- 39:22Speaker 3: That's your boy's neck of the woods.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Come my take on mom pt six. Moms are without
- 39:27Speaker 1: a doubt mom, a Delta force m hashtag MDF. Pregnant
- 39:31Speaker 1: moms are Delta incourse, trying to conceive, Delta intercourse, surrogate mom,
- 39:37Speaker 1: Delta outsource, got pregnant, pregnant but didn't intend to Delta remorse.
- 39:43Speaker 3: And then second crack at it.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Do I go?
- 39:48Speaker 3: I hit the last one?
- 39:48Speaker 1: You can one of those Casey Anthony type mom's Delta
- 39:52Speaker 1: en force.
- 39:54Speaker 3: That's a comment. Love the humor, Love the humor. That's
- 39:56Speaker 3: a comment. It's a joke and it's a legend. And
- 39:59Speaker 3: then also there one chef.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Can you read the mom that was underneath the I
- 40:03Speaker 1: want you pop a team six And she's like, I'm
- 40:05Speaker 1: cooking up some names.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Check the DMS.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. Uh, this is Kennedy Leblonk. She's sent
- 40:09Speaker 2: a very nice long message that I will forward to
- 40:12Speaker 2: you guys.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Uh.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Female listener squad names Overy Ops and womb Raiders. Oh
- 40:19Speaker 2: love Overy ops, Love over ops.
- 40:21Speaker 1: And we were talking about it on the first one
- 40:23Speaker 1: were but womb raiders, that's it.
- 40:27Speaker 3: That's like a mercenary Yeah, we're saying.
- 40:29Speaker 1: It's like a mercenary group that doesn't necessarily work with
- 40:34Speaker 1: all the military units that were creating you know what
- 40:36Speaker 1: I mean. Womb Raiders feels like it's like an outsourcing.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a special ops from.
- 40:41Speaker 3: The private sector. What did I I'm blinking again. Did
- 40:44Speaker 3: you say splinter unit? You said splinter splinter unit. It's
- 40:47Speaker 3: a splinter unit.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:49Speaker 3: I almost think of like caretakers or like nurse types
- 40:54Speaker 3: or nanny types or you know, babysitters, like they you know,
- 40:58Speaker 3: they're coming in their help and where they can.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's kind of where I what I go to.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I wanted to add, if you think about it too,
- 41:06Speaker 2: if you're a woman listening to this podcast, you're probably
- 41:09Speaker 2: a sick. Oh so it kind of fits the whole.
- 41:11Speaker 3: You're probably a sickle.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I mean, it fits the whole special.
- 41:15Speaker 1: If you're a new mom, you might have to be
- 41:19Speaker 1: It might have to be Milk Team six. I love
- 41:21Speaker 1: Milk Team six because milk is you know what I mean,
- 41:24Speaker 1: it's pump.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Pumping at least five ounces, six ounces is what Jill's
- 41:30Speaker 3: getting out now.
- 41:30Speaker 2: It's crazy. Yeah, new mom's milk teams, Milk Team six.
- 41:35Speaker 3: I love Raiders, Ovary Ops, all the Delta task Forces.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we'll let it. We'll let moms chime in. Yeah,
- 41:44Speaker 3: mom's chime in.
- 41:45Speaker 2: We need to have a mom podcast collaboration.
- 41:48Speaker 3: I would love that. What what what was the name?
- 41:51Speaker 4: Uh?
- 41:52Speaker 2: We just became MILFs? Was the one that my wife.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Did we just become milks?
- 41:58Speaker 2: I believe? Did we become milse?
- 42:00Speaker 3: Yeah? Did we just become mills? I think?
- 42:03Speaker 2: But I know there are a few out there. Dude,
- 42:04Speaker 2: it would be fun to collaborate on a podcast, bring
- 42:07Speaker 2: them on for the dads.
- 42:09Speaker 3: My my shop talk some shop. My wife has been
- 42:14Speaker 3: throwing out the tea. Apparently that's a big one, the tea.
- 42:18Speaker 3: The tea. She was like, if y'all collabsed with the tea,
- 42:22Speaker 3: that would it would be the greatest thing to ever
- 42:25Speaker 3: happen on the innerweb. Dude, it would just be fun, allegedly.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Have fun talk about like both sides, Like what's the
- 42:32Speaker 1: deal with complaining about having to pump all the time?
- 42:34Speaker 3: Like that stuff seems does it really hurt?
- 42:37Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 42:38Speaker 1: Like if I was pumping, It's like I was telling
- 42:40Speaker 1: my wife when she was feeding and pumping and doing
- 42:44Speaker 1: all that stuff.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I just, sweetheart, I wish I could pump. Like I'll
- 42:48Speaker 3: have those things on all day long and I'll just
- 42:50Speaker 3: go upstairs playing pupg with the boys. Hey, that just
- 42:54Speaker 3: turning out milk.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Thank god you said that.
- 42:57Speaker 3: That is my survival k I had a different survivor
- 43:00Speaker 3: really quick, I'll plug the wireless breast pumps. Do y'all
- 43:04Speaker 3: have those? Yes? Bro? Those are crazy. Jill literally has
- 43:08Speaker 3: a bra that she slips these wireless breast pumps in,
- 43:14Speaker 3: and she could be doing anything in the house that
- 43:16Speaker 3: she would want to do. She could go out to
- 43:19Speaker 3: Target and nobody. They would just be like, oh, wow, she's.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Got a wire connector. That's like it's like battery operated that.
- 43:27Speaker 3: That's that's what Jill had. And then we went to
- 43:30Speaker 3: this wireless thing. Dude, I'm telling you, Jill could be
- 43:33Speaker 3: walking around Target right now shopping and it just looks
- 43:36Speaker 3: like she's heavy chested. You don't even see it, you
- 43:39Speaker 3: don't even hear it. And it's just inside the bra,
- 43:42Speaker 3: just doing the just getting milk, getting milked. And then
- 43:46Speaker 3: when you take it out of the bra, you pour
- 43:48Speaker 3: it upside down to It's as simple as that, and
- 43:51Speaker 3: pours out.
- 43:52Speaker 2: All the breasts of the second one. Oh yeah, dude, Hey,
- 43:56Speaker 2: I did. I did try it.
- 43:57Speaker 3: I don't know if I told you that not that bad, right, Well,
- 44:00Speaker 3: it was a very small amount. I'll do an actual sip.
- 44:03Speaker 3: But I did like a little like, uh, you know,
- 44:06Speaker 3: it leaked on the side of the bottle. I did
- 44:07Speaker 3: one of these, and I was just looking at this
- 44:09Speaker 3: drop and I went, it wasn't that bad, not that bad.
- 44:13Speaker 3: It's not that bad. Looks weird. It looks very weird, like, ah,
- 44:17Speaker 3: looks like some spoiled it's a little yellow, Yeah, a
- 44:20Speaker 3: little yellow so spoiled looking milk. Let me try it out.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Why not, I'm drinking worse things. Yeah, it looks like
- 44:26Speaker 3: agnog not the bad, not the bad, not the bad.
- 44:33Speaker 3: But yeah, a little collab. I think that would be
- 44:35Speaker 3: awesome at Barker on YouTube commented eleven days until joining
- 44:41Speaker 3: PT six So damn stoked.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yes, bro, come onngratulations that. Uh he's gonna be in it.
- 44:49Speaker 1: He's gonna be in it just like you. He will
- 44:51Speaker 1: be He will be a Papa Team six member. This
- 44:54Speaker 1: one comes from ham Bonious Rex see Team six, twin
- 44:58Speaker 1: Boys Inbound, Good good wife struggling. So I'm building all
- 45:02Speaker 1: the furniture, cooking, doing laundry, and the grocery shopping.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Good, good good. I love it. You gotta embrace it, man,
- 45:10Speaker 3: I will say, with the furniture building, and I think
- 45:13Speaker 3: we've talked about this. You don't like furniture, Oh buddy,
- 45:16Speaker 3: I task grab it the shit out. Charles like, hey,
- 45:19Speaker 3: it'd be fun if you built the crib. It would
- 45:21Speaker 3: be fun, wouldn't it. I'm not going to, which shocks me.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Which shocks me.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I don't think it's a bad thing that you don't
- 45:29Speaker 3: build it, but I get so much like it's almost
- 45:34Speaker 3: cathartic when I build furniture, Like I truly get so
- 45:39Speaker 3: much like God, look what I did. And I'm able
- 45:41Speaker 3: to point at it. And Jill can physically see the
- 45:43Speaker 3: work that I did. And she's like, bra I hear
- 45:46Speaker 3: on the phone, Sherman put together this shelfe is so
- 45:49Speaker 3: hard to put together, and she's proud of me. I'm like, damn,
- 45:52Speaker 3: I need to keep doing that. What makes me ultimately
- 45:56Speaker 3: having to do it?
- 45:57Speaker 1: Because there'd be a couple furniture pieces and I don't
- 46:01Speaker 1: want to task grab it, but Charles wants to build it.
- 46:04Speaker 3: She starts building it. I feel bad.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I go in and build it with her, but I
- 46:08Speaker 1: draw a boundary, sweetheart, just took a little bit of time.
- 46:12Speaker 1: I'm task grabbiting the next thing. Yeah, well, especially if
- 46:16Speaker 1: you have I've painted a couple of rooms.
- 46:19Speaker 3: There you go.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Yeah, painted Ruse room, painted our office. I don't think
- 46:24Speaker 1: I painted Scotti's room. I don't think I painted Scottism.
- 46:28Speaker 3: But yeah, manual labor and Willie.
- 46:29Speaker 2: See.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Look do I think about like I built a couple
- 46:36Speaker 1: of things, Yeah, for the kiddos.
- 46:38Speaker 3: Do I remember building them. No, you know what I mean,
- 46:41Speaker 3: It's not like I look back, Oh, Papa built that
- 46:42Speaker 3: for you. Yes, I will say this. When I look
- 46:46Speaker 3: at you, the way that you interact with the world,
- 46:49Speaker 3: you do not seem like somebody that's not handy. Yeah,
- 46:53Speaker 3: like you don't. You don't give off any type of
- 46:55Speaker 3: I've seen you around the grill at the Father's Day
- 46:59Speaker 3: or Father's Day, the dad combine. Yeah, like you know
- 47:03Speaker 3: what you're doing your hand I.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Love that you say that because as my boy, I'm
- 47:08Speaker 1: sure he's listening right now, he's probably chuckling knowing he's
- 47:11Speaker 1: like Will hates anything manual labor related.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Now, who is this? Nick?
- 47:16Speaker 4: Oh?
- 47:17Speaker 3: Nick?
- 47:17Speaker 4: Now?
- 47:17Speaker 1: Am I competent? Can I read directions and get it
- 47:21Speaker 1: right for the most part?
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yes?
- 47:22Speaker 1: Sometimes I might have to backtrack. Fuck, I gotta pull
- 47:24Speaker 1: this all back apart. I did the wrong screw here. Yeah, yeah,
- 47:28Speaker 1: I just don't care to. I just it's just not
- 47:30Speaker 1: my bag, dude. Yeah, that one tell me other things
- 47:33Speaker 1: on my mind, like if like, hey, you know, oh,
- 47:37Speaker 1: let's build this thing. I'd love to just check out,
- 47:39Speaker 1: take a mental break and put my hands on something
- 47:41Speaker 1: and build something. There's no stress, but there might be
- 47:44Speaker 1: messages that could just come across my phone. Hey forgot
- 47:47Speaker 1: the press record on that entire episode.
- 47:51Speaker 3: No, but really you do have way more traffic going
- 47:54Speaker 3: on under your phone than like the normal human and
- 47:58Speaker 3: it it does give me an opportunity to shut off
- 48:02Speaker 3: my brain. But I feel like I'm able to afford
- 48:06Speaker 3: myself that where maybe less so with yourself. So I get.
- 48:10Speaker 2: I get that, I get.
- 48:12Speaker 1: But if there was a badge for like furniture building,
- 48:15Speaker 1: I wouldn't feel right accepting that badge. Even though I've
- 48:18Speaker 1: done a couple of things, I wouldn't feel right accepting
- 48:21Speaker 1: that badge.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Does that make sense? Yeah, Like the if you came
- 48:24Speaker 3: in next week and you said, Sherman, love you so much,
- 48:28Speaker 3: fully forgive you for not hitting record and slash. I
- 48:31Speaker 3: thought about it. You get your couch badge. You didn't
- 48:35Speaker 3: really earn it, but I'm gonna give it to you.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I would. I wouldn't slap it out of your hand,
- 48:39Speaker 3: but I'd be like, I'm not putting that thing on.
- 48:41Speaker 1: That's kind of yeah, that's kind of my mindset. Yeah,
- 48:43Speaker 1: I wouldn't give you the couch badge. No, But in
- 48:46Speaker 1: that hypothetical, that's the mindset. I'm one because I know
- 48:49Speaker 1: there's dads out there. It's like it's a badge of honor. Yeah,
- 48:51Speaker 1: you're building your kids like toy sets and doing all
- 48:53Speaker 1: these things. Like for Christmas, I had to put together
- 48:57Speaker 1: rush Chevy and then the little red uh, the little
- 49:01Speaker 1: red car with a little yellow roof love put those
- 49:04Speaker 1: things together, but the car. Yeah, it's not like I
- 49:07Speaker 1: sit there and I'm like, I'm ready to do it.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I'm ready to dive into this badge of honor. I'm like, shit,
- 49:10Speaker 1: Christmases tomorrow, I do gotta build this thing. Yeah, any
- 49:16Speaker 1: other comments, Oh, it's oh Benjamin, Benjamin, my little girl
- 49:21Speaker 1: these days from taking her first steps and being on
- 49:24Speaker 1: the move. I look forward to watching these episodes. It's
- 49:26Speaker 1: such a more realistic way of showing how dead life
- 49:29Speaker 1: really is. So both of your family stay healthy and happy. Dude,
- 49:32Speaker 1: shout out the first steps, Mando. I'm like sitting there
- 49:36Speaker 1: in front of her, and Mom's got her little arms
- 49:39Speaker 1: and it's like walk to dead dad. Like you've seen
- 49:41Speaker 1: her take a couple of steps, but now she's like
- 49:42Speaker 1: she's about to walk to dead end. I just had
- 49:44Speaker 1: the camera sitting in front of her.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Mom lets her little arms go and she's just like
- 49:48Speaker 3: water on over.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Dude.
- 49:49Speaker 1: It it warms your heart. Man, it's the best I
- 49:54Speaker 1: watched that video so often. It's the best man video.
- 49:58Speaker 1: As much as you fucking can.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I am already getting my heart broken with seeing things
- 50:03Speaker 3: on TikTok of like newborn to three months, Like look
- 50:07Speaker 3: at the difference and it's like a little five second
- 50:09Speaker 3: video of them as a newborn, and then it jumps
- 50:11Speaker 3: to them as three months and I physically in my
- 50:14Speaker 3: heart felt like a ooh when I saw that three
- 50:18Speaker 3: month old. I said, that baby looks way too old.
- 50:21Speaker 2: It's huge.
- 50:22Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 50:24Speaker 2: Choro?
- 50:24Speaker 1: Every month we'll do a monthly photo with like a
- 50:28Speaker 1: little sign next to him with the letters like six
- 50:30Speaker 1: months old and get them to smile. And she did
- 50:33Speaker 1: it with the rude doing it with Scottie the little
- 50:35Speaker 1: growth chart. Yeah, just capture as much as you can.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Capture as much as you can.
- 50:41Speaker 3: I need to do a better job and to that point,
- 50:44Speaker 3: and I'll read out this comment too, because we all
- 50:47Speaker 3: did a good job of replying to him. This came
- 50:51Speaker 3: on Twitter, uh, this came on our for the Dad's
- 50:54Speaker 3: Check in our Papa Team six check in posts, tim
- 50:58Speaker 3: A said seemed to seed team six year. We got
- 51:03Speaker 3: our induction date today and man, I'm shitting myself. I
- 51:07Speaker 3: was in the mindset that it was already real and
- 51:09Speaker 3: had already hit me. But I was fucking wrong, full
- 51:13Speaker 3: panic mode, engaged and damn near had an anxiety attack,
- 51:17Speaker 3: but held it together for the WiFi. I remember that
- 51:19Speaker 3: one will will you replied to it with the great comments,
- 51:23Speaker 3: and hey, don't be scared and tell WiFi you know
- 51:27Speaker 3: how you're feeling. You're not alone in this. I chimed in, said,
- 51:31Speaker 3: you're crushing it. The fact that you have anxiety shows
- 51:34Speaker 3: that you care. You're gonna crush it for the Dad
- 51:37Speaker 3: Chef commented on it. But I want to challenge myself
- 51:41Speaker 3: and we talked about this in my midyear review. I
- 51:44Speaker 3: was thinking about this last night when I was going
- 51:46Speaker 3: to bed. I was like, God, I got it. I
- 51:47Speaker 3: got a reply to more comments, cause there were getting
- 51:52Speaker 3: so many comments that it's not like it waters it
- 51:56Speaker 3: down to where I don't care, but there's just so
- 51:58Speaker 3: many comments say like Okay, I'll get to these in
- 52:01Speaker 3: a little bit or yes, and then you kind of
- 52:03Speaker 3: forget because it's it's it can be overwhelming for sure, Yes,
- 52:06Speaker 3: And then I think to myself, they spent so much
- 52:09Speaker 3: of their time to put that out there. The least
- 52:12Speaker 3: I can do is heart that and give some sort
- 52:16Speaker 3: of reply to like show PT six like we're reading
- 52:19Speaker 3: these things because I'm reading damn near almost all of them.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that I'm getting tagged in.
- 52:24Speaker 1: That's the most fun part about this is like the
- 52:28Speaker 1: goal is like building the community of Dad's Papa Team, say,
- 52:31Speaker 1: even though the females that are involved in comment and
- 52:34Speaker 1: everything else, but it's it's it's cool, bro, because you're right.
- 52:38Speaker 1: It's like you want to we want to be doing
- 52:41Speaker 1: these shows and pumping out content to where it's like,
- 52:43Speaker 1: you know, we make dad Fatherhood seem fun, talk about
- 52:47Speaker 1: low moments and just connecting with the community because they're
- 52:50Speaker 1: like watching something there's Papa Team six, right, you're part
- 52:53Speaker 1: of it. You're taking a moment to like comment and
- 52:55Speaker 1: do your thing because you feel like we're all part
- 52:58Speaker 1: of this thing.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Because we are.
- 53:00Speaker 1: And when old Buddy sent that anxiety attack, that kind
- 53:03Speaker 1: of panic attack thing, it's like something that because when
- 53:07Speaker 1: I said, hey, share with your wife, like something I
- 53:09Speaker 1: would learn or charl and I would both learn like
- 53:11Speaker 1: when we do therapy together, is like, you know, you
- 53:14Speaker 1: want to keep on this energy as the man of
- 53:18Speaker 1: coming off strong and coming off composed for them, right,
- 53:23Speaker 1: And then you learn like when we're in these therapy
- 53:25Speaker 1: sessions and talking about it, like hey, I'm nervous as
- 53:29Speaker 1: shit too, like I'm terrified because I think I'm going
- 53:31Speaker 1: to be a bad dad, or you feel like you
- 53:34Speaker 1: know she's going through so much so you want to
- 53:37Speaker 1: remain strong. And that also creates a sense of like alone,
- 53:41Speaker 1: like this lonely feeling for yourself too, because it builds
- 53:44Speaker 1: up the stress.
- 53:45Speaker 2: And build up in you at some point.
- 53:47Speaker 1: And just communicating that stress with your partner, because again,
- 53:50Speaker 1: it's not about strength, it's about just connection. It's about
- 53:52Speaker 1: sometimes that is a strength is just hey, we're both
- 53:55Speaker 1: fucking terrified and we're both going through this, and I
- 53:57Speaker 1: feel like I want to help carry that for you.
- 53:59Speaker 1: But your partner also wants to know that you are terrified.
- 54:02Speaker 1: That probably helps them feel a little more comfortable as well,
- 54:04Speaker 1: Like you don't as a man, you don't always have
- 54:06Speaker 1: to come up strong, especially with your partner, so you
- 54:09Speaker 1: tell her, hey, bro, the gentleman that sent that message
- 54:13Speaker 1: and am I reply to Tim, It's like, dude, share
- 54:15Speaker 1: that with your wife, Like I'm telling you, it's she
- 54:18Speaker 1: wants to know what you're going through as well. It's
- 54:20Speaker 1: not about just like they're probably feeling like, man, I'm
- 54:23Speaker 1: stressing out so much, I'm doing all these things. Like
- 54:25Speaker 1: he seems to have it all together, Like should I
- 54:27Speaker 1: continue sharing all this stuff with him? Does he even
- 54:29Speaker 1: want to hear about it? It's like, bro, you tell
- 54:31Speaker 1: her that you're going through the same shit or you're
- 54:33Speaker 1: going through your own walk with it too, Like that's
- 54:35Speaker 1: where you can both connect over all that stuff. Then
- 54:37Speaker 1: you go into the fire together because I promise you
- 54:40Speaker 1: no parent feels like they're just ready for it all
- 54:44Speaker 1: when it comes. Everybody's excited and everybody's also terrified because
- 54:48Speaker 1: it's like, am I going to be a good dad?
- 54:49Speaker 1: Am I going to be a good mom? Am I
- 54:51Speaker 1: going to come up short? I didn't have the best upbringing.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Am I going to be a replication of what I
- 54:55Speaker 1: grew up in? Am I going to be carry on
- 54:57Speaker 1: the legacy that my parents were to me? Like there's
- 54:59Speaker 1: all these different things that everybody has. Yeah, that's all justified,
- 55:03Speaker 1: But it's just like you're going into the fire and
- 55:06Speaker 1: you want to do it. You want to do it
- 55:07Speaker 1: with each other.
- 55:08Speaker 2: And dude, the.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Worries that I had. I said this to my friend
- 55:11Speaker 3: because he was asking me. He's a Seed Team six
- 55:15Speaker 3: member looking to become a dad, and he was picking
- 55:18Speaker 3: my brain of just like surem, how's it going. And
- 55:21Speaker 3: how I broke it down to him is I was like,
- 55:23Speaker 3: the worries that I talked about with you on the show,
- 55:25Speaker 3: of like getting enough sleep, the diaper stuff, all that stuff,
- 55:29Speaker 3: I like laugh about that now because I'm like, it's
- 55:33Speaker 3: like we got that figured out and we're onto the
- 55:36Speaker 3: next thing. Like I got bigger fish to fry and
- 55:39Speaker 3: to worry about. And I told him it was like,
- 55:41Speaker 3: I'm from Aledo, Texas, a huge football town in Texas.
- 55:45Speaker 3: I remember trying out for the football team my freshman
- 55:48Speaker 3: year and all the upper classmen being like.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Hey, you get fucking ready.
- 55:52Speaker 3: It's just different.
- 55:54Speaker 2: It's fucking different on.
- 55:55Speaker 3: It's grown men out.
- 55:56Speaker 2: He's grown men. Shit, I don't think you're built for
- 56:00Speaker 2: this shit.
- 56:00Speaker 3: And then you look up two months later and you're
- 56:02Speaker 3: like halfway through the season and you're a football player
- 56:06Speaker 3: on the team.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Yeah, doing your thing.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Like it, and you see the next crop going through
- 56:10Speaker 3: the same anxieties and fears. Yes, it's like it's like, yes,
- 56:14Speaker 3: worry about it, yes, be nervous about it. But I
- 56:17Speaker 3: can't wait for you to see me do a diaper change.
- 56:20Speaker 3: And I mean you're gonna be like, Yo, let's fucking go.
- 56:22Speaker 3: I see you kid, Yes, dude, Yeah, I never thought
- 56:26Speaker 3: i'd be good at that, And now that's just second nature.
- 56:28Speaker 3: That's I'll be three diapers and one change because there's
- 56:31Speaker 3: shit on that one, but then she peed on the
- 56:33Speaker 3: clean ones. So now that one's in there, and now
- 56:35Speaker 3: we got a third one and the Yeah, now we're good.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Just know that it's all normal and natural.
- 56:41Speaker 1: And catching yourself when the anxiety or the stress is
- 56:44Speaker 1: building to where you can give yourself the grace of hey,
- 56:47Speaker 1: this is normal.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Think about the millions, billions of kids and parents that
- 56:53Speaker 1: were before us.
- 56:54Speaker 3: Look how many humans are on planet Earth, dude, And
- 56:58Speaker 3: just being able to identify exactly like you said, identified
- 57:01Speaker 3: the anxiety and if you're able to communicate that neurologically,
- 57:05Speaker 3: us dudes, us papas are we are naturally not good
- 57:09Speaker 3: communicators on that front, right, you default to that strength.
- 57:13Speaker 3: I gotta come off this way, and that is just
- 57:15Speaker 3: that is in your brain. That is literally built into
- 57:18Speaker 3: your brain to do that. So when you're sharing that
- 57:21Speaker 3: stuff with your partner, bro, They're going that's like crack
- 57:24Speaker 3: cocaine to them. They will be so excited that you
- 57:28Speaker 3: broke down how you're feeling in that moment, Like when
- 57:31Speaker 3: I told Jill how pissed I was about that dad
- 57:35Speaker 3: loss of scarlet overheating. Yeah, her being like, you're good,
- 57:39Speaker 3: she's fine, look at her, She's asleep right now, and
- 57:41Speaker 3: like it's not gonna happen again. You're gonna be cognizant
- 57:45Speaker 3: of the heat. Well, let's move on. Tomorrow's a new day.
- 57:49Speaker 1: So can we talk about the other dad loss that
- 57:51Speaker 1: you had et six st six. This ad reader is

- 58:49Speaker 3: For oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, so this was technically
- 58:53Speaker 3: my motherfucked moment.
- 58:56Speaker 4: We had.
- 58:57Speaker 3: I titled it the Battle for the Belt Jill one
- 59:00Speaker 3: spoiler alert.
- 59:01Speaker 2: She won the belt.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Um, let me read a little quote here and you
- 59:07Speaker 3: guys can guess who this quote is from listeners at home.
- 59:11Speaker 3: This might seem familiar. Show your kids what resilience looks like.
- 59:16Speaker 3: Maybe you're just exhausted and don't have any patience, but
- 59:20Speaker 3: it is something to keep in mind that I have
- 59:22Speaker 3: to constantly remind myself is that our kids are always watching.
- 59:26Speaker 3: They're watching how we handle things and how we deal
- 59:28Speaker 3: with adversity around the house, and watching how we handle
- 59:32Speaker 3: our communication with everyone around us. Those the Papa Team
- 59:37Speaker 3: six lesson last week. That was episode six, Episode six.
- 59:40Speaker 3: That comes from William Compton.
- 59:42Speaker 4: The third.
- 59:44Speaker 2: Is I did not show good resilience.
- 59:48Speaker 3: Oh happens, bro Oh don it happens more often than not.
- 59:54Speaker 3: I'll break it down for you for dads out there,
- 59:58Speaker 3: if you are breastfeeding, or if mom is breastfeeding, Charo
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: is a breastfeeder, so you are well aware of this.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: They have to either feed or pump every threeish hours
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: pretty constantly, pretty constantly. So why we wish we could pump.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: That's why we wish we could pump, because if they
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: don't pump, there is a bacterial build up that can
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: then make mom very sick, not baby, not just pretty.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Like a clog situation where that's painful, yes, dude, but
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: essentially Mom's got somebody on those milkers twenty four to seven,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: whether it's a baby or it's a pump.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Yeah, And it is something to where Jill. The most
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: sleep Jill has gotten in a set contained amount of
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: hours is probably two and a half. That's probably the
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: most sleep that she's gotten because she is just wanting
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: to be superstar mom of If the doctor, the pediatrician
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: shout out, uh wait, can I say my doctor's name
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: if you want to?
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Or I don't know, there's nothing legally you can't.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: Yeah, she can't talk about us, but I could talk
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: about her. Yes, sure, okay, shout out doctor Steigelefest, great name.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: She says, Jill, you gotta pump every three hours. Well,
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Jill's gonna be like, by god, I'm pumping every three hours.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Right, Because again, it's like any type of build up
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: that happens if they miss like, moms definitely want to
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: stay on that stuff.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Absolutely. Milk Team six, Milk Team six. I bet that
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: there are a lot of moms that don't breastfeed and
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: so they are getting some better sleep because they're you know,
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: feeding on formula. Or maybe there's some moms that like
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: they'll skip a pump because you can at the end
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: of the day, you can skip a pump or feed
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: and go formula.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: But Jill is not that way.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: She's like, I want to feed whenever I can. I
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: want to pump whenever I can, and I'm operating as
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: I'm not sleeping the best either, but nowhere near two
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: and a half hours of sleep being my best night's sleep. Yeah.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: And so when I'm showing signs of I'm kind of tired,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: I need a little bit of an escape. I need
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: to play video games with the boys. Oh honey, the
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: boxes can wait till tomorrow. Oh honey, this can wait.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: I'll make the bed for my mom coming in town later. Honey.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: I wait, I need a nap going.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: I need a nap so bad if you just let
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: me nap for thirty minutes, I just need a nap
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: going into this night shift, and I'm gonna be solid,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna be set. And so there's all this build
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: up of me kind of basically the whole day just
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: showing signs of, hey, Jill, I'm exhausted, and Jill's just
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: eating it and in the in her head she's like,
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: I've mostly I've gotten this two hours in this son
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: of a bitch.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: So it all comes out when I.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: And when those those.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Stressors are high too, It's it's like that the scoreboard
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: comes into play in your mind, yes, whether you wanted
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: to or not, because again you're operating out of your
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: like operating on E you both are yes.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: And she did a great job of being like, I
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: want you to sleep, I want you to get your
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: But I look at you and selfishly I'm like, damn,
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: he got six hours. That's crazy. I wish I could
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: get six hours. Yeah, And so there's that comparison. So
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: she sees her, you know, dumb stupid husband, go lug
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: over to the xbox and go, you know, turn on
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: the xbox. And I got little Scarlet over here next
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: to me. And Scarlet's kind of and she's like, are
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: you gonna pick her up? And no, honey, she does that.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: It's fine, Like, well, sherman, you have the headset on,
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: like can you hear her crying? Yeah, honey, I leave
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: the headset like partially off my ear. I know when
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Scarlet's crying. Well, are you talking to people on there
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: who you play? Yeah, I'm playing with Will and Jared
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: and but also a note, they said that I shouldn't
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: be playing.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: They said I shouldn't be playing.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I don't think we said it when you were on
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: the game, but when I was hearing everything that had
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: happened and went down, I know in my brain, I
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: was like, my questions were, how is he on the game?
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: And then my next thought or I guess three, how is.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: He on the game?
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Why is he on the game hearing this story? Or
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: she might not know that he's on the game at
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: the moment, which we'll get into. So I'm just about
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: to get onto the game and Jill pops her top
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: on me, just loses it on me. Say why what
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: do we get to say? Why?
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Yeah, of just like you're acting like you're tired, you're
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: da da da you get to have this nighttime shift
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: that yes it's hard, but essentially you just sit next
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: to her and play video games with your buddies, Like
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: I have no community with like moms. Right, you know,
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I'm alone in this. I feel like my husband's hanging
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: me out to dry during the day because he's tired
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: because he got to play video games all night? Why
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: watching our daughter? Oh oh, I'm getting there. I'm getting there.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: So to not go into full details of what Jill said.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: To protect my wife, some things were said that I
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: was like, oh man, I mean I truly was like
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: chin on the floor. I got ripped like five new
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: ones and I'm sitting there and I'm starting to get pissed,
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: not at her but at myself. And as she's going
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: I'm telling her everything's fine. She needs to let me
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: do me. We have this system in place, everything's good.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: And as that's going on, we have a fucking raccoon
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: now confirmed in our ceiling, just moving around and Wriggly
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: are sweet, Dot is just letting.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: The raccoon have it.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: So you have Jill losing on me, Scarlet, and then Wriggly. Well,
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: there's one thing of those three that I can control,
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: and it's Wriggly. I've been telling him no all night.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: There's one thing that you can go full pop a
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: team six. I can go full pop a team six
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: on And so I go up to Wrigley, I give
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: him a no, and I on his butt, which we
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: do that like with our dogs. I'm sorry for anybody
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: at home that doesn't like that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Lost yourself in the moment you had a reaction to
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: the dog had a reaction to the same way Yep
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: gave him because that was like his eighth no that night.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and so I wanted to enforce it. I hit it.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: She goes, you are in no mood to be watching
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: our daughter and goes and picks her up off the thing.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, that was You're about to do nighttime
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: oh yeah, and lose it all this is happening.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Yes, he hit the dog.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Hit because he ain't shutting up, he's making it worse.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you hit the dog. You're about to do
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: nighttime shift. And she's like, you're a no.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: You're in no mood to be watching our daughter. I
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: can see it in your shoulders. You're so tense. I
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: was the monsters in the park that Rue was afraid of.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: And I'm sitting there and I'm like, I became that guy.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Like my wife is like scared for me to watch
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: my daughter, Like am I a bad dad? Like?
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Am I a monster?
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Like what? Oh my gosh. I would never hurt Scarlet.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: I would never hurt Jill. And I'm not reacting verbally
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: to Jill. I'm eating everything she's telling me because last
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: time she lost it on me, like what six weeks ago, Yeah,
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: seventy five percent of what she's saying is right, yeah,
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: which it was. All of it's built up on you.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Oh what happens?
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: And so she's holding our daughter and I feel like
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: I'm losing custody of my daughter like it was a
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: I'm just sitting there like, dude, I fucked up, damn it.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: And she grabs this ugle me in the blanket. She goes,
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: we're going to the room of you know, blah blah blah,
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: and takes Scarlett into the room and I just sit
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: there on the couch like this, and I'm just sitting there.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I'm like, fuck because I know I can't go in.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: There and talk to her.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: It's both emotions are way too high. Motions are way
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: too high. But also right move on that part. Yeah,
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: I'm like I have lost in this situation. Not a
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: cool down, not that it's a competition, but I've lost fully,
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: So what can I do?
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: But in your mind at the time, you're probably arguing
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: your points in your head.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: Really to be completely honest, and this isn't the score
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: points with her. At this point, I'm just really mad
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: at myself, to be honest, like I really wasn't breaking
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: it down of like, oh, like the only thing that
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: I was like that's not true is like you're being
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: a bad father blah blah blah. And I'm like, I
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: know I'm a good dad. I might I might mess
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: up dad, but I'm a good dad, so that won't
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: hurt a little bit. But that's okay, I'll eat it.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: That's like the only thing that she really said contextually
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: that made me upset, right, But I'm sitting there so
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: fucking mad at myself, and I'm like, I honestly just
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: want to talk to somebody. It's late at night. I
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: know that the guys are on the Xbox, so I'm
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: just gonna get on the Xbox. I know that my
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: mentor Willie C is on there. Jay Rod's probably on there.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: He's great comic relief.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Because we had planned the we had planned to play,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: we had planned Suram was late to getting on the game.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: We're kind of wondering what's going on.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: On TIVE like late late. Sharan was supposed to be
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: on it like nine thirty. He remember when you FaceTime
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: me and I was doing my back routine. It's like, no,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: that was what he said.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Oh the Kroger.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I forgot about Kroger.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: Again, I don't know how much you were wanting to share, so,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: as your boy in the foxhole, no, I'm sorry.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: I've missed a huge part of this story. Guys Yogurt
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: love Kroger. But the guy that packed our they do
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: a free pickup where they'll get all the groceries and
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: you go park in the space they bring the groceries
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: out to you. One of our grocery items was six
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: chicken breasts and he put it in with like all
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: of our veggies and fruits and like stuff that isn't
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: fully covered and the chicken liquid is just seeping out
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: of the it's covered in chicken stuff. So it's like, hey,
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: if you want salmonilla, eat anything in this bag. Essentially,
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: I'm like, well, that's you know, ninety dollars worth of groceries.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: I'm going back to Kroger. And Jill was like, honey,
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: I your shift's about to start. I would really love you.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: And I'm like, honey, if I don't do this right now,
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: it's not gonna happen, and we're gonna be ninety dollars
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: in a hole and we're not pinching pennies, but we're
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: trying to be smart with money. So I went up
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: to Kroger. I told Jill was going to take like
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: thirty minutes. It ended up taking two and a half hours,
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: or close to I run into Ja worried anybody that
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: follows me on Twitter, Saul, I ran into Jared in
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: the parking lot, and I thought, oh, for the Dad's
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: comes out tomorrow. Could be a fun little promo if
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: I acted like I'm Papa Razzi.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: And hey Jared Jared.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: Jill sees that, Oh, so Sherman's at Kroger working hard
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: to get at home. Jill's at home.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, in terms like I'm going back to Kroger
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: and I'm getting these groceries because the chicken juice has
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: covered everything else. Gonna take me thirty minutes. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Shrm tells me, hey, I can be on the game
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: around nine fifteen, nine thirty. He calls me, trying to
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: talk me in the plane. I was like, buddy, okay.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: So Jill's thinking he's gonna go to the store for
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: thirty minutes. It's a two and a half hour trip.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: So it's a two and a half hour trip. You know,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: she's doing what in the hell is going on? She
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: probably gets on a social media sees that he's doing
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: a fun little content bit with Jared in the parking lot, having.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Fun as I'm waiting for Kroger to solve this issue
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: and ended up being this whole thing where they we
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: can't reimburse, we can exchange, but how we I don't
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: know how we're gonna either way.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: Two and a half hours. Oh yeah, Suam comes home
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: the hornet's nest. That's probably where all these conversations are
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: taking place.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: And what's the first thing I do when I walk
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: in after I put it said groceries in the fridge,
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: I put on my headset. I get Scarlet in her
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: little bed because I'm husband out of the year. You
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: started to try to play the game before the motherfucked moment. Yes,
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: oh yeah, that's what kicked it all off. That's what
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: kicked it all off is I came home thinking I
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: killed it at Kroger. Now it's my turn to watch here, honey.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Let me take Scarlett, you go to bed, love you,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: and put her in her little snuggle me. And that
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I'm sitting there with my headset on and she's in
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: her snuggle me going and not crying crying, but like
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: kind of moving, and Jil's like, are you gonna do
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: something about that?
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: And I probably very quickly was.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: Like, oh, yeah, she's fine, she's fine.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: She does that and go back to my gut.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: And she's like, when I have Scarlet, I'm holding Scarlet
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: and I'm making sure Scarlet's good, and I'm blah blah blah,
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: and Sherman's doing this like havesy kind of you're.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: Playing with Jared in the parking lot at Kroger. You
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: come home and you just get on the headset and
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: she's whining, you're not doing nothing.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, And Sherman's just he's having the time of
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: his life.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: Fatherhood's so easy.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: It's just so much fun. And so she popped I
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: mean she popped off on me, which totally.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Sherman was on the game for like a total of
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: five minutes. Well that was later, so you were you
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: were logging on to play and walking on to play.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: That happens.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: You don't need to be, you know, Pop Wrigley, you
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: don't need to be watching our daughter. I'm going to
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: the room. So I think that there, that she's in
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: there for the rest of the night. You're like, all right,
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: she's on night she's on night duty. Now she took
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: it out of my hands because she took out my
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: hands slash, I know, because I tried to get Scarlett
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: back like two or three times verbally, not like trying
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: to get her back. But yeah, honey, I'm I'm sorry.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: You know what, You're right, I'm sorry. Just let me
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: watch No, you're not gonna watch her.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: She goes up to the room. Oh yeah, so you're
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: sitting down there.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: I'm like, I want to get this situation off my
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: chest because I feel like the biggest idiot ever. I'm
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: pissed at myself. I know my boy Willy sees on there,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Taylor's on there, Jared's on there. So I log in
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: and I just logs in trauma dumb on them for
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: like five minutes. Yeah, yeah, just trauma dumb. Mid trauma dumb.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: Jill walks in and I'm hearing this whole story, and
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: I'm just thinking, how are you on the game right now?
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Why are you on the game right now? I wonder
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: if Jill even knows he's playing the game right now.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Cause I'm just like, she's bunkered into her room. Yeah,
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: like she's gonna be in there for the rest of
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: the night. I might crawl in here in like right
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: thirty minutes, forty five minutes and she comes outside and
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: sees me on the game, and goes, oh, great, you're
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: on the game again, and I'm like, fuck, So I
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: instantly turn off the Xbox instantly. I mean, yeah, I'm
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: sure I was probably talking to you, you guys, and
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: then you probably just saw we saw.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we saw your name leave the leave the discord.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: We saw the little plug logo next to your guy's name.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: We're like, I think it's bad.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it went south for sure. Sure them
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: over there in the house, surep needs reinforcements. So then
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: I get a second lashing from Jill. Understandably, gotta keep
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: this under an hour, by the way, gotta keep this
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: under an hour. So in my brain I then say
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: to myself, you need to be a good dad, and
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: you need to start knocking out the things that you
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: said you would help knock out for Jill. So I
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: instantly go to the washer and dryer, I change out
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: that load. I go outside into our front yard. I
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: put my gloves, my work gloves on. Oh she wants
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: the she wants the weeds going the weeds about to Oh,
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: oh she wants to fuck Everybody on the on the
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: Twitter say, oh, shureman, what's that wha tree in your
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: front yard?
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: Fuck?
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: That weed tree.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: I got my hands all and just I'm just go on.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: At this point, it's probably like eleven thirty, close to twelve,
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: and I'm just taking down all these weeds out there,
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: diabolically killing the weeds covered, kicking out all your anger
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: and all.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: Your stress on these chores around the house. Oh yeah, dude.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: And because of the night shift, I like had a
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: little nitro like coffee type thing that like earlier in
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: the night to help me, but on an empty stomach.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: So I'm out there, I'm starting to get lightheaded. I'm like,
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: all right, I need some full rainbow outside, full fucking
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: rambo on these weeds. And then in my head, when
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: I was going inside to get a water, I hear doom, doom,
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: doom up in the roof, and I literally shot up
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: and I looked up at that ceiling. I said, tonight's
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: the night. Whatever that animal is, it's gonna fucking die.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: I was raised at home where I hunted. I've killed armadillo,
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: I've killed rabbit bare handed, but with an object, I'm
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: gonna kill whatsever in my roof. Yeah, we have a
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: huge fucking ladder at the shop. I'm gonna go get
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: that ladder. Am I crazy, am my psycho that I'm
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: turning to kill something in this moment of anger. No, Sherman,
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: you're not.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: The thing needs to die. It's ruining your life. It's
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: all you hear at night. I get to the shop
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: at like one thirty, I unlock you, I get the ladder.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: I go back to my hond on thirty in the morning,
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Sherman is here at the shop getting the ladder to
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: go home, getting the ladder to go home. Should I
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: use a hammer? Should I use a knife? You know
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: what it actually be best. Let's get the fireplace poker.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: That's sharp, it's got some length to it. I'm gonna
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: have to rip these wood slats off the side of
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: my little enclosure to go in here and kill whatever
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: this thing is. And I get halfway up the ladder
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: to where I'm about like roof height, and I said
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: to myself, these are the stories that you tell in
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: the er, like these are the stories that you tell
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: the doctor and your family sitting around you're laughing because
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: you have a broken tibia or phibia, because you fell
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: off the roof at one thirty two o'clock in the
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: morning at one thirty two o'clock in the morning. And
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: just as that's happen, I see the porch light turn on.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, here we fucking go. Jill comes out. Sure,
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: I'm just on the roof climbing. Then the porch light
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: comes on. Jill's like, what the hell are you doing?
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: What are you I'm gonna go up there and honey,
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: I'm sick and tired of whatever's up there. The trap
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: that we have on the roof is not working. It's
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: not catching whatever this fucking thing is. I'm gonna go
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: fucking kill it. This is the worst thing you could
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: possibly be doing right now.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: What why?
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: What is this gonna help?
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: I had to hit earlier because you were laughing at me.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Do me a favorite, Get back inside. I have a
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: bloodluss that I can only be fed on varmit blood.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I'm taking care of the problem, sweetheart.
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: You said I'm a bad dad. What makes me a
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: good dad? Take care of our problems? What's our problem?
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: This fucking thing in our roof? And dude, I was like,
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: in such a thought cycle of just kill get your
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: head back inside oats side.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Sure, just a neighbor like looking at the window, the
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: porch slide on in the bag just like one day
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I do.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: I have a blue collar neighbor that works like kind
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: of laid out in around like twelve when I was
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: ripping the weeds out, his pickup truck slowly was coming
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: into his driveway and he stopped in my yard one
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: doing a Is that that?
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: It is the neighbors, so like, no one's breaking into
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: his house, but what the fuck is he? He does
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: have a kid.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: I feel that he's just outside outside going crazy. Dude, dude,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: didn't kill the bat down.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: You got off the roof.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: I got off the roof.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: As we mentioned before, I sent you a picture of
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: the baby raccoon that was in our trap. This morning
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: found out the great news from the wildlife team that
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: they had to release said baby raccoon back into our
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: roof because really we wanted to catch the mama raccoon.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: So that problem's just still on going.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: So they're still there. Raccoons have made a home in
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: your roof into that they couldn't let him out in
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: the wild.
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: No, had to be back in the room.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: It was too young because the.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Mom of raccoon is in the roof and it was
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: just a baby raccoon that they had called and they're like, oh,
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: we can't do this. We need to get the mom out,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: so we gotta get the baby back with mama. Yeah,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: so they're both still in there.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Oh yes, yeah. What's it called whenever you're living in
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: an apartment and you're not paying, but you're like, you're
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: living there illegally.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: Squatting?
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: Squatting, yeah, squad.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: Yeah this. The raccoons are squatting at Shirrem's house right now.
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: I just sent a picture to Chef of the baby raccoon.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: It's the cutest thing you'll ever see. I walk out
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: this morning anything, I'm like, what the fuck is that?
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: I didn't see it. I'm on the phone with the
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: animal people, blah blah blah.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: So hang on, how are we getting the raccoons out?
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: Because this is this is for Papa Team six. This
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: is a classified document file that's going to now come
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: across our desk that we have to extract the raccoon.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Can I tell you my plan? Yeah, Carson with the
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: Wildlife Team is awesome. However, Wildlife Team is expensive. I
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: don't want to build up too much of an invoice
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: to where when I then show said invoice to my
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: landlord and say, hey, let's take this off next month's rain.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: I was taking care of this on the house. Blah
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: blah blah that if it gets up to a certain number,
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: I'm sure they're gonna be like, what the hell are
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: you spending money on? Because the first service I paid
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: for is like six hundred dollars.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, bro, I know.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: Here's the plan. Carson's gonna come on Monday. He's going
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: to set up multiple traps. If we don't catch him
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: by Wednesday with the multiple traps, then we are not
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: going to move forward with said service. During these next
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: couple of days, he said. It's imperative at night, and
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: good thing I'm on the night shift to listen for
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: noises because if I don't hear any noises tonight, I
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: should go up on our roof during mid day because
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: it's too hot for the raccoons up there. They will
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: flee and go, you know, pillage and go get whatever
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: food they need. During the day, I can go up
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: and shut the enclosure, but you can't shut the enclosure
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: when the raccoons are in there because they will die
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: and then your house smells like dead animal. For like
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: two months.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: I like this plan because the episode is releasing obviously
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: today as people are listening on follow up on D Day. Yeah,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: that's so true. We can get a follow up on
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: this mission.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you go ahead, you get an operation name.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: I like that, Operation trash Panda, Operation trash Panda.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: I like that.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: I was more of a going like Operation Raccoon of
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: bin Laden.
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: I like that.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: I I just want to say this, we gotta keep
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: it under it now, we gotta keep it under an hour.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: I'm a I'm not fully a broken man. I am
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: showing resilience from now on. The only takeaway, the only
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: win was that I didn't.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: Argue back at Jill in that moment. That is the
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: only takeaway. But if I could get.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: Your thoughts on how I handled the situation for what
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: the whole thing? Like, what are my thoughts on that story? Yeah?
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: I think, very bad move, very very bad move putting
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: the headset on. Yeah, thinking after two and a half
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: hours or two hours at Kroger again, to think the
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: switch was just gonna happen and you're gonna throw on
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: the headset.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: I know that was a very bad move. You should
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: have done a couple of boys I'm running behind. I'm
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: probably not going to get on tonight, you know what
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: I mean?
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Because like it's like you go home, you put
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: the headset on when you're getting the mental lashing, and
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: I've been there, trust me. Stuff stews in the boy's
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: brain and I like lose composure with the wife, and
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: in my brain, what happens is like when the lashings,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: we're going back and forth verbally, and then when she
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: you know, if I were to hit the dog, I'm
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: trying to think of how to say this, So, yeah,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: say the verbal ashes are going and I take it
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: out on my dog. Yeah, when she goes upstairs and
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: takes the baby. What goes on in my mind is
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: more of like if I'm getting on the game, I'm
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: getting on the game because I know I'm going to
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: get another rise out of set situation, because I know
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: it's honestly, it's a bad move to just get back
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: to think like all right, they're all upstairs, I'm down
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: here kind of cooling off thinking about what to do next.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: Your first thoughts.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Should not be I'm gonna goon with the boys on
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: pubg Yeah, should be calming down. It should be probably
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: sending a sending a text to feel out where she's at, like, hey,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: hate how everything just went down.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: Would love the opportunity to come up and apologize and
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: help take on and help get a get a second
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: chance with Scotty, because I know you need your rest.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: And then there if you got Scotty not Scottie, I
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: keep Scarlett to get Scarlett calm down, and then I
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: can join the game if the moment still presents itself.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: But that would have been my suggestion, because I will
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: be honest. When I was listening to you give every
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: all the play by play on the headset, I'm thinking
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: of myself, it's a bad move to be on.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: The game right now.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: Bad move.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: But I thought she was selfishly, I was happier on
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: the game. You talk to me into getting on.
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: I did so in my head.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I'm like, sure wanted me to be on, and I
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: told you, I told you I'm doing my back routine
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: right now. If you could get on at nine o'clock,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I'm on. Yeah, you're like nine fifteen nine thirty. I
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: was like, no, no, no, because here's what you do.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: You'll say nine fifteen nine thirty. At least it's nine thirty.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: You'll probably be on at nine to fifty ten o'clock.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: You weren't even on nan and I remember being on
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: the game like I knew I was right about sure,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: I'm not getting on here. So when you were on,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: you came in during a chicken dinner we won. We're
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: excited for you to be on. But as you're telling
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: the story, I'm like, this doesn't feel good. It felt
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: like when you just spontaneously got off the game. It
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: was reminded me of Jurassic Park, the opening scene when
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: the velos Raptor takes Buddy.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: He's trapped in the cage with the Velociraptor. Yeah, shoot,
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: and dude just like losing his grip like you were
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: a goner.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: And when you got off, like I didn't even I
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: didn't even have any questions about it because I'm like, yeah,
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: I'm sure he's getting a validated lashing for being on
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: the game.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: Got a text from jay Rod immediately after I think
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: I talked. I might have said something like Adriie, would
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: you feel comfortable.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: Reaching out?
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: Told shirm, but that would be like you know, thinking
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: listening back on all that, like that would be my
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: advice to you yeah, like if wife, he knows you're
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: gonna take thirty minutes, it happens to be two two
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: and a half hours. You were about to take on
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: night shift duty.
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: Anyway, Yeah, I wonder where the fuck are you at?
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: She sees you're giggling, goofing with j Rod with j Rod,
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: I get that. I get that on her part. I
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: get where she's coming from.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: And you know, don't condone in hitting your animal. But
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: that was like the move in the setting.
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes I look at Waffle like that's a sturdy
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: bulldogs are sturdy.
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: Now, yeah, Docsin's a little different. Yeah.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: Usually it's usually it's one popping on the button. You know,
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: he's sorry, he starts minding. Yeah, and the pops are
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: very rare. As I tell this song, I like, yeah,
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: I sound like I'm blind with rage.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: You get that way, like again right wrong and different
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: like that enraging blackout. That's what for the dads is
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: for It's to not shy away, dude, we're fucking human beings.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: Rage fills our soul at times.
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Dude.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: I'll get in standoff with Waffle and it's it's fucking
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: and I will I'll stand over her like this like
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: to we all popper and like, you know, she'll try
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: to get to me, but she's a bulldog, so she
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: can't like reach your butt area where all like drag
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: her or something, and she'll just like you know, she'll
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: want to get like, oh, we're in it, and I'm
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: like back to her peacocking up, like okay, yeah, you
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: want to fight, you want to you want to stab
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: at me, go ahead and try.
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: And all that happens.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: I'll like I like stand over and just stand like
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: this until she's like, you know, looking up me kind
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: of like growling, and then she'll kind of like turn
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: her walk away and I'll follow her. I'll follow her
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: to the room. Or if she's like against the wall,
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: stand over, fist.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Clinch, you're in my house, waffle Yeah, don't you forget that? Yeah, which,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: which she's barking and I'm trying to get it in
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: the room. It's like I will sit there and I'll
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: dog walker like walker all the way to the room.
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: And I've done the Caesar Milan mead where the you
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: do the little that or the uh it's not a
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: full pinch, but you let them know that you're on
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: their neck. Yep. And you slowly push down and you
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: just pretty much like you were describing, stand over them. Yeah,
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: which is what I usually do with Wrigley because he's
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: our alpha, and.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: You go a little harder because just there's so much
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: rage filling your soul.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: Oh I bite my lip, I bite my lip. But
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: that night I skipped all those steps and went and
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: or usually I'll do one of these, I'll go to
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: let them know, yeah, hey, that act could do that.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: Don't forget who the alpha is, and that will usually
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: get them to be like, okay, yeah, I'm sorry, it happens.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: Man, dude, the text would been great. That's great advice.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: I will say this.
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: The only thing that did come across my mind that
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: was saying was uh, thinking back to your New York situation.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: And just being like, don't.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: Don't say anything that I will regret later. Yeah, because
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: New York again, my body was filled with rage.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: Yeah, the darkest part of my soul to where you're
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: like saying things verbally back and forth to where we're
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: not getting nowhere, and I would just stay quiet, Oh
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: you want to go to beding, I gotta go to
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: bed angry.
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: Yeah, so I bit the tongue there. How long we
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: been going, Jeff, We're about thirty minutes, so, buddy, in
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: terms of we go, yeah.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we got it.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: We gotta get into uh crack a cold one, crack
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: a cold one. My crack a cold one. This week, buddy,
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: it's I crack a cold one. To loving the videos
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: and photos that you get sent when you or not home.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: The joy that fills my heart when I'm on the
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: road or on the plane or at the shop. I
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: got one today that, oh God, I want to show you,
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: and it's just your little it's your little one, bro,
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: it's your little nugget, your little booger, and they're like
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: smiling or it's a video of them having fun.
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: Or whatever it is.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Dude, it fills your heart with so much joy, and
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: I love it. Like anytime I'm around somebody and Chorro
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: or Nanny like shoots me a photo or a video
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: when I'm out of the house, like I'm just I'm
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: over in a corner smiling. It's almost like you gotta
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: step away just enjoy because it's like you're not trying
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: to be the dead that shows everybody, but then you
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: become the dead that shows everybody. Because you're so excited
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: and you love it so much, like, hey, check this out.
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: I went up to Jared earlier today because I got
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: a video of Augy or Nanny just sending a video
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: of little Rude just reading to Scotty. Scotty's sitting up now,
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: she's army, crawling everywhere, but Rude just reading to Scottie.
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: Send that to Chef because that we got to play
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: that as you just showed me that. I send it
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: right now for the viewers because that was crazy cute, buddy.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: It just it warms my and I'm sitting there like Jared,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: he just got dogs. He don't know what this Papa
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: Team six life is.
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: Like. He smiled and loved it.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: But you know what I mean, Like it's almost like
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: if a dad's showing you something, you're smiling and being like,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: that's awesome.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: I don't know if he's like thinking that's really awesome.
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: D you kind of just can't help yourself.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: But that's my crack of cold one is getting those
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: videos and photos when you're out of.
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: The house, because it's just you get it.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: You get when the dad's back in the day and
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: you were little, they're showing you photos in their wallet.
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: I love it. I love the stories of your dad
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: playing the wrestling videos whenever his friends would come over,
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: of you and your brothers.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: Oh like the same thing.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Yeah he will and Cody, there's wrestling terminal, but we
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: didn't want to come watch.
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: My friend.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: We can't even get back to my room to play
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: video games. I'm like, Dad, come on, dude, my buddy's
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: trapped on the couch with my old man just watching
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: a VHS recordings camera recordings. Yeah, you know, sitting Matt's side,
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: just showing a wrestling matches.
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: It's like the Jamis Winston story that I'm sure your
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: dad's camera work is just horrendous. Like at the time, Yeah,
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: my mom would be on the camera, my dad there,
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: you get involved, like coaching wise, Oh my god, you're
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: just stuck with the old man watching full tournaments of
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: wrestling over the weekend. I cannot wait.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: Tell you what he looks. Take your shirt off, give
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: him the most mustage, dude. My dad would be in
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: front of his buddies. They'd be at the house in
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: the garage, and I come out and like say something.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: They might be talking about either me playing sports or something. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: and uh my dad would start talking, like start talking
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: about my physique. It's like, well, pop off your shirt
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: showing your most muscular, my dad, come on, take off
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: your shirt showing the most muscular. And I'm like sitting there,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: like take off, like take from my shirt in front
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: of my dad and his boys, and I'm just like,
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: what are the the print saying yeah, Billy, you're right,
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: you got my kid, Billy, all right, you can go
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: back in the house like all right, oh my god,
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: dude showing me you're back.
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: And how old are you? Like jo Bro, Yeah, like
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: eight nine, ten, God to be a fly on the one.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: And honestly, that flex is almost like a callback because
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: there's so many of those old photos that would like
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: my dad would like hang in his gym or like
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: hanging around to where it's like me and Cody doing
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: like the most muscular.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: You did it in that wrestling video that you posted.
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: That's like my favorite part of that video is when
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: you're standing before the match and your.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: We might have to have chef just run that clip
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: for you right now watching just oh Willie see doing
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: the fake cut driving the head. My dad's probably geek
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: and watching this right now.
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I selfishly, I cannot wait till Scarlett's like moving
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: and operating and all I found myself doing.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: With room like sweeter, look at her calves like we
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: might have a little athlete on her hands and her shoulders.
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: Yes, that goes to my crack of cole one. The
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: pediatrician appointment that we had, she did say for her size.
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: She was like, I'm not just saying this. She is
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: speisty as hell, like she is strong, and I'm like, okay, sir,
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: And she's talking about the legs. I dabbled with a
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: little bit soccer and track back in the day, and
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: Jill actually has some track stars on her side of
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: the family, like legitimate, like college level. I was not,
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: but I had a little bit of speed. So hearing that,
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: I'm like, ooh.
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: Ooh, we like that.
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: You don't.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: You just need another person to say, and then it
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: kind of validates, like maybe yes.
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: And she turned on her side, which she does all
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: the time at the house. She turns on her side
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: on the table, and everybody in the room was like, oh,
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: she's turned on her side already. Oh my gosh. I don't.
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: I don't know any different because I just know my
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: warrior that's what they're saying. And she not only turned
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: on her side right as they're like bragging about it,
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: she then goes like up here and she's like looking
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: with her eyes around the room and turned on the
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: other side. And they were like, yo, that's crazy, Like
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: that's crazy. Just as you're changing or just start working
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: her legs, okay, so working some stretches, I'm like, I
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: got a little striker. I got a little forward here, buddy,
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: She's gonna be on the women's team. Come on. As
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: she continues to develop that so like it gets exciting,
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna put a soccer ball at her feet so
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: fricking fast, dude, so fast. Yeah, and you just kind
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: of put hey, you won't play the soccer one that okay,
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: all right, you don't want to play yet, and you're
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: just itching.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: You see what kind of ability they might have. So
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: you know, she's spinning pretty well out there.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: That just put a gold in the backyard. What's that thing?
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: What do you do with that?
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Put on the little blocks, like if you go to gymnastics,
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: like putting out the little blocks and they're like balancing
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: on each one or sep across each one.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: She's doing it a little bit better than the other.
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: One's pretty good.
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: I cannot wait is dou And then the crack that
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: was basically my cracker col One, but just wanted to
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: highlight it was so sick. Scarlet's tiny. She came out
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: five pounds six ounces. Yeah, but she's two weeks old.
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, but just like tiny in general. I mean
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: they were like, she is tiny. We go to the
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: first appointment, she was five pounds one ounce and they're like, hey,
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: normal for baby to lose weight in that first week.
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: We want her back to five pounds six ounces at least.
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: For an appointment, she clocked in at five pounds thirteen ounces,
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: eight percent increase. And it's because Jill has just been
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: a superhero on feedings every three hours on the clock,
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: making sure she's getting milk, making sure And it's so
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: cool in that moment to like see Jill to be
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: able to like reap the rewards of that, and like, yes,
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: I'm hard on Sherman and I want him to be
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: attentive at night, but like these are the reasons why
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: so that Scarlett is developing well, And like our pediatrician,
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: doctor Stiegelfest is sitting there and going like a plus marks. Yeah,
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: she's growing. She's great, huge win, huge win. Milk Team
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: six is doing their job. Yeah, as they always do,
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: as they always do. Survival kit, my survival kit. Once
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: upon a Farm, Once upon a farm, snacks. We got
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: a little food. They got pouches, Once upon a farm.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: Look them up, get them in your life. Let's see here,
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: let's let's just go the dude.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: It's got a what's her name is it Jennifer Gardner?
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: Is that what I'm thinking of?
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: Yes, she plays Electra, Yes, yes, yes, so she's part
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: of it. They have an awesome team. Their website goes crazy,
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: but all clean ingredients. It's like organic. They go beyond
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: the organic standard, upholding the highest standard. Let me see here,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: let me see.
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: Is crazy, like crazy in a good way.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: The leader in transparency for babies to big kids. Yeah,
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: once upon a farm, though, that's what Scott. He's been
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: crushing Once upon a Farm puffs. She just been hitting
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: the I guess I'll say that for a survival kit later, yeah,
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: next week or something. But she's been crushing food. Bro
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: a little blueberries and you squash them and put them
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: in front of her like she's operating with their hands.
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: Scotty is Scott, he's operating, and rou was a bit
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: more of a picky eater. Is that No, neither of them.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: Ru wasn't picky when she was like a baby. She's
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: picky now they like get picky. Yeah, yeah, but she's
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: been operating with these puffs, dude, she loves them. This
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: once upon a farm.
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: This looks sick.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: This looks sick.
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: It's like in a little pouch for people that are listening.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: That looks squeezable.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Yeah, the squeezable pouches. They got puffs and containers. They
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: got little bars. That's survival.
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: That's awesome. How about for you got to keep it
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: under now, got to keep.
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: It under an hour?
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: Uh? Mine is very broad, but mine is a good
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: diaper bag. It came in clutch when we went to
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: the pediatrician the other day. Uh thing diturdy, A sturdy
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: diaper bag and one that can load up everything that
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: you would ever need, wipes, diapers, creams, lotions, blanket, maybe
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: an extra set of clothes in there.
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: Do you got the uh the little roll up at
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: the bottom of the bag.
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: Got the roll up for the blowout on the go,
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: blowout on the go I'm telling you, in the back
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: of the chevy where I have to drop the I've
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: dropped the tailgate, laid out that little mat that they
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: got in the backpacks.
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and I've yet to use it, but I've
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: seen your posts on it, and I'm like, I know
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: one day I'm gonna be using you.
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: It's staring back at yeah.
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: And then what Jill went the extra step and she
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: had the individual bags inside the diaper bag are labeled
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: on the bag. So one bag says wipes, other bags
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: says diapers, another bag says you know whatever it's got
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: in there. That's the ultimate dad hack of all time.
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: I'm operating in that diaper bag like I'm mama Bear. Yeah.
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: Love that.
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: So that's yeah, that's my dad hack slash survival kid.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: My dad hack is how to get how to get
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: your kids to eat vegetables. I came across the little
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: dad hack a little w last night.
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: Okay, and we're trying to get Rudy broccoli.
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: She'll eat her main portions, she'll lead her fruit, ye,
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: but getting her to get the veggies down has always
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: been a pain point for us. But what I did
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: last night is I'm sitting there trying to talk to
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: her about broccol I'm like, sweetheart, you gotta eat all
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: the different colors. Like green is like the most important
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: color to eat. Green affects your you know, like your brain,
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: your heart, your muscles, your hair. She's like your feet,
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: like your feet too, your feet too, and everybody you
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: take fills one of those checks off a box or
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: one of that. Can we get you to eat if
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: you eat five pieces of broccoli, We'll do one for
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: your hair, one for your eyes, one for your brain,
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: one for your heart, and one for your feet.
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: Ooh she took them down. No way, yeah man.
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: And the next night, that was two nights ago. The
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: next night she had broccoli again and she didn't want
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: to eat it. She was in the pantry kind of
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: be like, no, I want this snack, I want this.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, she wanted her vitamins, because the
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: vitamins it's like gummies or whatnot.
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like a little treat.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: You can't have your vitamins until you eat your broccoli.
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: And then you know, she's kind of going through it,
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: and I had to remind her. I'm like, hey, sweetheart,
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: what were the five things?
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: Dad said?
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: That broccoli or green helps with yeh. She's like, I
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: don't know you say it. I was like remember the
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: five things. I was like your hair, and then she
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: was like my heart. I was like your heart, your eyes,
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: your brain, and she's like at my feet, and I
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: was like, you eat these couple of bites right here.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: We check all those boxes and we can get to
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: your vitamins.
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: So that is my little dag.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: Dad hack on how to get your kids to eat
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: their vegetables is like naming the body parts or thing
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: whatever might get them on board for like, hey, this
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: is what you're helping out. This is how your body's
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: going to operate better because you ate these vegetables.
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: I love that because she's getting an understanding of like
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: white food does as well. Yeah, it's not just to
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: fill up your tummy. There's some nourishment there. Yeah, they
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: have a role they do. This is how it helps
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: you out. I love that you have all that pretty hair.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: You gotta keep feeding, you gotta keep eating your broccoli.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: I love that she's stuck on the feet though. Yeah.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: I love that she's like, no, but the feet too,
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: oh yeah, oh yeah, the feet too. Goodness, Dad, Callins.

- 1:44:39Speaker 4: Fellas a niche Herenessee.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: A niche from Dixon, Tennessee.
- 1:44:46Speaker 4: Now coming to you from Chicago. I'm a dad of
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: two beautiful girls, five year old and a one month old,
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: also a fellow podcaster in the Dad's Space, So I
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: appreciate you guys bringing more eyes to the dad's plight
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: and this parenting journey. Let's I wanted to give a
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: shout out to Sharon. I was listening to the latest
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: episode when Sharon was talking about his wife asking how
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: long the recording was gonna take, and I was in
- 1:45:07Speaker 4: a similar situation myself. It's a few days after my
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: baby girl was born. I was right before Father's Day,
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: so I had to hop on with the boys talk
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: about this new bundle of joy in my life. My
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: wife asked me how long it was gonna take to record,
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: I said, Sweetheart, it's only gonna take twenty minutes, twenty
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: five tops, hop on, give a quick update, hop off.
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: An hour later, goes by. I come out to screaming
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: baby frozzle of five year old and a wife that
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: was just staring a hole through my soul. The first
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: thing she said was, I thought it was only going
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: to be twenty minutes. Yep, we've all been there.
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: We've all been there.
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: Typical dad boss, that's okay, that's on me, hand up
- 1:45:48Speaker 4: accountability looking back. So I've hopped on recording four days
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: after my girl was born. Absolutely not. Do I regret
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: spending quality dad time chopping it up with my best friends.
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: Absolutely not. So Sharon hanging their brother and keep finding
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: a good fight. We're alling the stuff together.
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: Great call from a Poppa Team six member, right.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: There, great call.
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: We've been there, We've been Hey, we've been there. At
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: least you didn't hop on pubg you know right after
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: the Yeah, at least like podcasting, it is the work,
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: right Yeah.
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like when Scotti was born. Obviously I'm taking
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: doing all the things to be at home, but it's like, Sweetart,
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: we got to I got a couple of recordings, like
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: I have to be at those, but have doing the
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: podcast for however long we've been doing it. Yeah, she
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: knows it might take a moment, but I'll give myself,
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: you know, a cushion on when I could be home.
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: For sure. We've all been in that spot.
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: I'm in that spot right now. I told Jill one o'clock,
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: and then I did a fabulous move of not hitting
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: record earlier and now we're at one fifty. Yeah, Ciner,
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: I was curious too if you had told Jill the
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: time you'll be home, because I had to push we're
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: you know, I was going to go look at a site,
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: potential bus and move and I've had to push that back.
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: I don't even know if I'll be able to get
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: to it, but we've all been in those spots.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: It's like if I go to the gas station, charge like,
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: what took so long, and I know in my head,
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: I'll like say, you know, it's traffic, honey, these drivers,
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: you know there's traffic at nine, eight thirty, nine o'clock
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: at night.
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: It's greaty.
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: Sometimes I'll just be decompressing, like just in my truck,
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: sitting out in the driveway.
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: You do sit in your truck. Oh yeah, that's a
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: will move. Yeah, that's so. That's a big time move
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: for myself. Pull into the driveway. Just sit there, think
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: about the mission at hand. That's a good h We
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: had a graphic of like top data escape places and
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: we have like toilet backyard, blah blah blah.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: Car is a good one though we didn't have that one.
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: Car is a good one. A niche correct a niche.
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: We'll get the spelling.
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll get the spelling from a niche. But thank
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: you for the call.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, a niece. Shout out you, bro, keep fighting. The
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: good fight happens to the best of us.
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: Happens to the best of us.
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: In the podcast space Talking Dad issue, so also shout
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: out there.
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: Shout out just being a member of PT.
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: Six and listening to us too. Yeah, you're a legend. Yeah, sweetheart,
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: I trust me. I know.
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: I was trying to get off in twenty five minutes.
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: I was even telling the boys, Hey, I have a
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: twenty five heart out. And then one of the boys
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: he started breaking down and telling me something. He had
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: something going on, and I had to be there for him.
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: She listened to the pod and you were just geeking
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: around that. But hey, you soften that moment that was happening.
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love that she was just staring
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: a hole into his soul.
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: Twenty five minutes huh as the kids are just crying.
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, second calling, Second calling.
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: What's up boys, Will Schurm Chef. I'm calling from Columbus, Nebraska.
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: My name's Cordell. I'm actually currently underneath my car trying
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: to change the oil here, going to battle there good.
- 1:49:09Speaker 5: I just wanted to give a shout out real quick.
- 1:49:13Speaker 5: The chef sounds like he's the new producer of the show.
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: Congratulations and then obviously shout out to Sherm for the
- 1:49:21Speaker 5: new kid, and those shoutouts go in that order. By
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: the way, I just got the text, boys, I just
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: got the text from the wife. Her playing has officially
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: taken off, and this Papa Team six member has checked
- 1:49:36Speaker 5: in for the week, going solo dad duty for the
- 1:49:41Speaker 5: one whole week.
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: With my three year old girls.
- 1:49:44Speaker 5: And I guess I was just wondering, Will is there
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: any tips you have for an extended daddy daughter time
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: solo dad time? Any tips or tricks, anythings that you
- 1:49:54Speaker 5: turn to also additionally, forgot to mention, I'm all so,
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: two time member of Semen Team six with a twelve
- 1:50:04Speaker 5: week baby on the way, let's sake, go, let's go.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: He say three year old girls? Three year old girls?
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: Oh singular oh, one girl on the way.
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: I thought he might have said three year old girls
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: like he had twins or something. So he's got one
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: three year old girl that he's operating the entire week with.
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: Yep, that's awesome. Number one.
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: Hats off to Papa Team six member right there, two
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: time Semen teams, two times Semen team, but.
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: His wife going away for the week, and he's taken
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: on the role, the caretaker role at home and being
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: on the wall, being on the watch.
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: I remember my first time when Charle went to Paris
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: with her friends. She was going for like, yeah, either
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: a week or nine days or.
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: Something like that.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: She gone, gone, gone, gone, And it was dude, honestly,
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: a uh, some parts are easier just solo parenting. Obviously
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: he's checking out with the week. I don't know, like
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: what work, childcare and stuff like that's involved. Yeah, but
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: having the one on one time with your little ones, honestly, like, uh,
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: it's a lot of fun because it's just you and
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: he's a girl dad, so he's spending time with his daughter,
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: Daddy daughter time. Obviously, I know the guys out there
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: f sons and stuff like that, like, I'm sure that's great.
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: Appreciate you guys briaging on that stuff. But your one
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: on one time with your daughter is a load of fun.
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: Like I'm sure he's listening right now. He's probably had
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: a great week with her so far. They get in
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: more of a routine with dad. She's about keeping that
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: routine going. And my recommendation would be again I said
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: it to you earlier, but videoing a lot of stuff.
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: I know my first time watching ru, I videoed a
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: lot of different stuff that we were doing, like going
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: into a room stealers, see her smiling when she's waking up,
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: putting her to bed, reading a story, when we're at
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: the coffee shop. Uh, video on her at the coffee shop.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: She was only like, uh, she wasn't too yet, but
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: videoing as much as I could because I put a
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: little video together at the end of it. Because it's
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: just you and her, it's like your all your attentions
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: on her and gave me something kind of creative to
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: do for when mom came home. But that's a great time.
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: I feel like it's a great age too. Like if
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: it was just me and Rufe for a week, I
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: don't think it would be too I think it'd be fun.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: Like obviously keeping it on the routine of everything, but
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: there's a lot of those wiggle rooms, those little gray
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: areas that mom and dad might be strong on. But
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: now that you're with dad, Hey, here's an extra piece.
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: Of a cookie.
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: Hey, I'll hook you up with this. Hey, let's go
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: get some ice cream. Okay, you can stay.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: Up twenty minutes later.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: Hey there's something.
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: Cool on TV now for dad. We got some we
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: got a sport on. You want to watch your dad?
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: You want to stay up a little bit longer, or
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: let's pop on this movie. Yeah yeah yeah, but embrace it, dude,
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: embrace it. That's I think that's cool.
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: There was a video that you had, if I'm remembering correct,
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: that charl had gone out of town and you're through
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: you and you move some furniture like in your kitchen
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: area for y'all to have like a little dance party.
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there's some kind of little dance party. That you're
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: throwing love.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: That Yeah, yeah, dude, it's just you know, it's like
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: a lot of times too, like you might come across
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: where it's like the mom doesn't trust the dad to
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: be on his own.
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: And so it's like a nice little badge of honor
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: that you can watch the kids solo dolo, or you
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: can watch the kids solo dol.
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: And that I don't know if I talked about that
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: on the low.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: The oldest part a prep for the meals, prep for
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: the dinners, because now you'll be kind of stuck. Oh
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: he ain't got this ordering something, just being ready. It's like,
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: oh shoot, I got to order. You gotta give the right.
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: So because the big thing you want is you want
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: to alleviate mom while she is gone. You don't want
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: to be the dad checking in every five minutes, Hey
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: where's this at?
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: Hey?
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: What do I do here?
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: Hey?
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: What would you recommend here? I can't find this. She's
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: giving me a tough time right now. No, let mom
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: be fully out, be fully to where she's thinking. Is
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: everything okay?
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: Back home?
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: And she wants to call and check in, Oh we're
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: having a great time, or on FaceTime.
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: You want mom to.
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: Feel the full freedom of being away, and I feel
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: like she has to be away and have her entire
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: pulse on everything that's going on back home. Yeah, that's
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: how you be prepared. That's how you knock it out
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: of the park.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: It sounds like he's already in the thick of it,
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: but I'm sure that he prepared and killed it. Yeah.
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: I love that he's underneath his car too, calling us
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: this guy is locked in.
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: He's locked in.
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: What was his name again, chef? Uh, I'll play the
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: beginning card again, Cordell Cordel And that was that came
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: in yesterday. So so he's day one as we're recording this,
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: so so he'll still be in it. He's got a
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: couple of days left. Let's go Cordel. Yeah, let's fucking
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: go Cordell and shot out Nebraska.
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: Always loved him. Chef might just be hey, here's in
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Nebraska one. Let's throw in movie.
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: I think that's three weeks in a row. Yeah, not
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: by design at all.
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: Well, they call in not by design.
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: And you're a big balls fan, that's a pretty easy
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: yeah too.
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: I did hear a Tennessee guy first one?
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: What?
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: Uh, what do we have left. We have our topic,
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: quote or lesson of the week. Do you have one?
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: I I did, and funny enough, it.
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: Was, uh, just attention to detail, attention to the small things,
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: and I was going to apply it to at home
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: with my daughter, but it also applies to the office,
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: as we learned today. To say, my meeting with Will
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: for my mid year review at Busting with the Boys
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: was there were a lot of good things to celebrate.
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: But one of the things that since I was a kid,
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: that I've struggled with is the attention to the details,
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: the little things that you need to do right, because
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: the big things can't happen if you aren't doing the
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: little things right. Perfect example, publish a podcast online. You
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: cannot do that if you do not hit the record button. Yeah,
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: and so it's just a good reminder and it's funny
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: that like that happened today and that that was also
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: my plan. My lesson is attention to detail. I did
- 1:55:53Speaker 3: not Will, we didn't record. We weren't recording for forty
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: five minutes. You're gonna be late to you probably won't
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: even get to do the showing of the commercial space.
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: But that was my lesson for the week. It's a
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: quick It's a small one but just I love it
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: the attention to details.
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: And with Scarlet it's a.
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: Good reminder you can't ever say stuff like that enough. Yeah,
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: with Scarlett, it is just being on track with like
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: do we have enough diapers? Do we have enough wipes?
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: Uh? Do we have enough? This?
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: That just helping mom out because she can't do it all.
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: That's my speed. Run.
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: My uh my lesson or topic of the week comes
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: from Saheel Bloom. Oh yeah, his new book Five Types
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: of Wealth, and he has a partner called The Magic Years.
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: Number one.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: If you're a parent, you're somebody who is ambitious, hardworking, juggle.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Both things were perspective on life. This book I can't
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: recommend enough. It is called Five Types of Wealth by
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: Sahuel Bloom. And he's somebody who has a young one
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: too around I want to say his son is around Rose.
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: He might he might have two kiddos now, but he's
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: someone who's that's like work life balance and having a
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: lot of perspective. But there was this part of the
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: book it's called the Magic Years. So I'm going to
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: read this part of the book called The Magic Years
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: for ten years you are your child's favorite person in
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: the entire world. And after that children have other favorite people,
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: best friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, partners, and eventually their own children.
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: But during those ten years, you are everything to them.
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: You occupy a unique place in their world, and it
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: is during this period that the foundation for the parent
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: child relationship so central to many people's social wealth, is built.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: It might be a strong foundation that is likely to
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: last for decades, or a flimsy or a flimsy one
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: that's likely to crumble in years. But there is one
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: terrifying truth. By the time your children are eighteen, you've
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: already used up the vast majority of the time you'll
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: have with them. Unfortunately, we live in a society where
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: children's early years coincide with their parents's peak working hours, travel,
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: and other professional responsibilities. For many of us, these special
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: years come and go in the blink of an eye,
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: a blur of late nights in the office, meetings about meetings,
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: emails at the dinner table, and weekend calls. In a
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: viral Reddit post from May twenty twenty three, a user
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: wrote a user wrote, twenty years from now, the only
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: people who will remember that you worked late are your kids.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: Commenters responded with a motion filled posts such as the
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: graveyard is full of irreplaceable and important people. And I've
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: missed so many birthdays, plays and events for work and
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: I can't even tell you why. I don't remember what
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: I was working on. I can't tell you why it
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: was important, but I can tell you how my not
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: being there made my kids feel. I am of two
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: minds on this. One being present and spending time with
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: those you love is the most important thing in the end,
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: and two, having the people you love see you work
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: hard on things you care about is a principle they'll
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: remember for the rest of their lives.
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: Strong.
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: I love this book, by the way, you know, I
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: saw somebody somebody tweeted saying that he got the strong
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: father's strong daughters a staple and the Papa six Papa
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: six philosophy.
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: If you're a girl dad for sure.
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: But I love five types of well see he'll bloom.
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: And I love his kind of description of the magic
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: years and how we are in them and how he
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: him explaining also how hard it is because it's also
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: as a young parent, your peak years of work, and
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: some of those quotes that kind of give perspective on
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: when you get to some endpoint or when they're grown
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: and out of the nest of you know, I can't
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: even tell you why I was at those events for work.
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: I don't remember what I was working on. I can't
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: tell you why it was important, but I can tell
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: you me not being there, how it made my kids feel.
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: Just those like little things that again help you grab
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: any perspective on what you might currently be doing and
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: how I might currently be operating to where I need
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: to get this and check a little bit more. How
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: can I structure this a little bit better so you
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: juice out and take advantage of the magic years being young,
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: being a young parent, embracing the fatherhood of it all. Yeah,
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: with your wife, with your kids, just taking in those
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: fleeting seconds and just trying to hold on to them
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: a little bit longer, videoing everything, taking as many photos
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: as you possibly can.
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: When I look at Scotty and I'm wanting to like
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: journal things down that she's doing, I'm like kicking myself
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: because I wish I would have done that more with Rue.
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: Like I have some of Ruth's first like in my
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: notes app. And it's like you think in the moment
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: I'll remember to write this down, or I'll remember this
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: because it was so glaring in this point in life.
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: But you forget a lot of stuff. So it's like
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: taking all of those moments in and then also having
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: this perspective on how if you're somebody out there are
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: struggling with like work life balance, hearing something like this
- 2:01:03Speaker 1: of the Magic Years, and just reminding you of what
- 2:01:07Speaker 1: life is about and how you can maybe course correct
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: in a few.
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: Areas several things from that lesson, I'm sure my dad
- 2:01:18Speaker 3: would say there's a lot of things that he wishes
- 2:01:21Speaker 3: that he could change about how he raised my brother
- 2:01:24Speaker 3: and I, work being one of them. He felt like
- 2:01:27Speaker 3: work really kind of took priority. However, yes, he could
- 2:01:33Speaker 3: have put work to the side a bit more like
- 2:01:35Speaker 3: in our years in high school, he would say that,
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: But being at this age now and now having a daughter,
- 2:01:42Speaker 3: I respect that that much more of just what he
- 2:01:47Speaker 3: was able to provide for my brother and I and
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: my mom, and like you don't see it because he's
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: not at home, but being on that side now, it's
- 2:01:58Speaker 3: like I know that there is love in that action
- 2:02:01Speaker 3: of working hard and wanting to provide for your family.
- 2:02:06Speaker 3: And wanting to do a good job, and uh, there
- 2:02:09Speaker 3: is a balance to it. Like you said, there's like
- 2:02:11Speaker 3: two schools of thoughts. U. S. Hill correct, So he'll
- 2:02:17Speaker 3: there are two schools of thought. But I do think
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: that it does show a tremendous amount of dedication and
- 2:02:24Speaker 3: it's really cool, it's really respectable. But finding that balance,
- 2:02:27Speaker 3: I'm sure that's hard, especially for you, dude, you travel
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: so much. But I feel like you do a really
- 2:02:34Speaker 3: good job of locking in when you're home, like you
- 2:02:38Speaker 3: really it seems like that to me that you were
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: prioritizing those moments. Yeah.
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's something that i'll like, uh, battle with
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: because it's like a game, bro, we won't get these
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: years back.
- 2:02:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I know, we're in the best times of
- 2:02:52Speaker 3: our life right now. Work related, home related.
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: It's like finding all of those all of those balance
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: because even to your example with your dad, it's like
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: thinking about my parents and having people that you love
- 2:03:05Speaker 1: work hard on things that they care about is a
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: principle that I remember. It's like thinking about my mom
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: and dad and my dad being in between jobs and
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: working hard to get another one and not being home
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: a times because he had the higher salary, and it's
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: like the way we had to kind of structure everything
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: as a middle class or lower middle class family to
- 2:03:24Speaker 1: make ends meet. You understand the love that goes into it,
- 2:03:27Speaker 1: into that even though I know my dad probably has
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: regrets that he wishes he would have been a part
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: of more. Yeah dude, and will we will too?
- 2:03:36Speaker 3: We will too, Yeah, yes, yeah we will as well.
- 2:03:39Speaker 3: But it's just like those.
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: Those perspective things on knowing, like it's like that's why,
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: Like for myself personally, what I challenge myself on is
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: what I'm wanting to say yes to, so that way
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: everything else I can just say no to, like it's
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: an easy decision versus sitting in like yeah, some opportunities
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: will be like yeah, this is a big opportunity, need
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: to take this opportunity.
- 2:04:02Speaker 3: In others where it could just be like we can
- 2:04:04Speaker 3: relate it and it's like do I need this?
- 2:04:06Speaker 2: Is this more?
- 2:04:07Speaker 3: Because a lot of it too in the work related stuff,
- 2:04:09Speaker 3: it's like selfishly, you love your work, you love doing
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: all of these things, and we have a fun job
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: and we have a fun job, but it's like, hey,
- 2:04:17Speaker 3: do I need to do this and is this going
- 2:04:18Speaker 3: to actually move the needle, or am I just wanting
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: to do this selfishly? Am I wanting to do this
- 2:04:22Speaker 3: just to get away or whatever it is? Sometimes it
- 2:04:25Speaker 3: might be that way, and that's like a good communication
- 2:04:27Speaker 3: with my wife, like hey, I need to go, I
- 2:04:29Speaker 3: need to do something, or I need to go get
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: out or whatever it is. Oh buddy, he was talking
- 2:04:33Speaker 3: about Dennis Rodman weekend. But it helps me compartmentalize. It
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: helps me compartmentalize a lot of those things that I
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: can easily say no to and be like, yeah, I
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: don't care to do that, Like that would be fun,
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: but I'd rather be home because dude, he talks about
- 2:04:52Speaker 3: ten years, and you can break the numbers down however
- 2:04:54Speaker 3: you want, but it's like, in those ten years, that's what.
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: But once one summer per year, that's forty summers. Yeah,
- 2:05:07Speaker 3: when they're little and you have them all to.
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: Yourself and they think you're an absolute superhero, let's just
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: say five, right, five summers that you have five potential
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: opportunities to go on summer vacations.
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: You know.
- 2:05:19Speaker 3: You'll feel this having a scarlet as how old is
- 2:05:24Speaker 3: she two weeks Scottie?
- 2:05:26Speaker 2: Is it?
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: She's eight months old? And so she's eight months old
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: for this moment in time. They grow fast, Like you
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: were saying, you saw the picture of a newborn in
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: three month old, and it's like they're just different people.
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: They grow fast, and there's such fun moments in those
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: when you're checking off eight months, nine months, ten months.
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: It's like, Rue, I can remember when her personality was
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: coming to life in sixteen months, when her personality was
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: coming to life at month sixteen. There's only four weekends
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: that she's going to be sixteen months old, and each
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: chapter is something different, and that's like how I try
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: to compartmentalize it in my brain when breaking down all
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: these things is like some things we're just gonna.
- 2:06:03Speaker 4: Have to do.
- 2:06:03Speaker 3: This is what This is what we do with bustling
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: with the boys, this is how it works, gonna have
- 2:06:07Speaker 3: to be in these house.
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: But everything else, it's like I try to have that
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: perspective of you know, she's only going to be two
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: for one year, She's only going to be this three
- 2:06:17Speaker 1: year old, this three major year.
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: When I just want to for one year, you know
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: what I mean, and then it's gone.
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: It's fleeting, yeah, And I never want to be in
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: a spot when I'm looking back, like, fuck, I why
- 2:06:30Speaker 1: did I go and do this? When it's like I
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: look at Scotty and I have so much more appreciation
- 2:06:36Speaker 1: of like living in her eighth month old body right now,
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: because I remember how fun it was with Rue, and
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: I'm experiencing new things with Scotty at eight months old,
- 2:06:43Speaker 1: and I feel like I have more of an appreciation
- 2:06:46Speaker 1: in those moments because it's like the perspective of she's
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: only going to be eight months old for one month,
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: so befour weekends we have with her in this age,
- 2:06:56Speaker 1: and I want to and you want to take advantage.
- 2:06:59Speaker 3: If this scores you points at home, I hope it does.
- 2:07:01Speaker 3: But you can see it written all over you in
- 2:07:04Speaker 3: Taylor as well. Whenever we are traveling, you guys get
- 2:07:07Speaker 3: homesick and I've all buddy, and I've yet to experience
- 2:07:11Speaker 3: that because i haven't had to travel for work yet
- 2:07:13Speaker 3: with Scarlett here now. But I I feel it even
- 2:07:18Speaker 3: in moments like this, of like, you do want to
- 2:07:21Speaker 3: be home, and so I do think on the other
- 2:07:26Speaker 3: side of it, like the work side of it, it
- 2:07:29Speaker 3: does show your love that much more that it's like, hey,
- 2:07:32Speaker 3: we have to do these things right.
- 2:07:34Speaker 1: You're t like you're subconsciously wiring in their brain when
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: you commit to something and you want something and you're
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: ambitious for something, like staying on course and showing that resilience,
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: showing that perseverance. Yeah, and that working just that working
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: attitude about it, Yes, because it shows that too. It's
- 2:07:51Speaker 1: like we're obviously gonna get old and we're all gonna
- 2:07:53Speaker 1: wish we spent every moment at home. Oh yeah, dude,
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: but that's just like that comes with it. But you're right,
- 2:07:58Speaker 1: it's like you're we get on the road and going
- 2:08:01Speaker 1: at football season this year, in spring tour and stuff
- 2:08:03Speaker 1: next year. It's like, now we're in a spot to
- 2:08:05Speaker 1: where we're healthy in such a way to where it's
- 2:08:09Speaker 1: like I want us to fly private so that way
- 2:08:13Speaker 1: we can squeeze every.
- 2:08:14Speaker 3: Moment, Like how can we leave the day of and
- 2:08:16Speaker 3: also come back to the day up.
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so we're not stuck figuring out all these different flights,
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: the lace happen, all these other things out rooms, yeah,
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: hotel rooms.
- 2:08:24Speaker 3: It's like how do we get in and get out
- 2:08:25Speaker 3: as quickly as possible. That comes at a cost, It
- 2:08:28Speaker 3: comes at a big cost.
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: But it's like when we're making this, it's like, hey,
- 2:08:32Speaker 1: we can just cut this chunk out and be like,
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: we're doing this because we want the full priority being
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: how do we be efficient and maximize our opportunities with
- 2:08:40Speaker 1: these things with busting, but also maximize and be efficient
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: with our opportunities at home to be with our family.
- 2:08:45Speaker 3: Well in the power of no too, like to just
- 2:08:49Speaker 3: bring it to myself of yet another thing I can
- 2:08:51Speaker 3: learn what we talked about my mid year review of
- 2:08:54Speaker 3: like that is something I struggle with so badly. Stop
- 2:08:57Speaker 3: saying yes to so many things I say behind everything,
- 2:09:03Speaker 3: and I gotta work on saying no because like that
- 2:09:06Speaker 3: will come in the way of me spending time with
- 2:09:08Speaker 3: Jill and with Scarlett. Yeah, and being able in those
- 2:09:13Speaker 3: moments to be like, hey, I can't go on that
- 2:09:15Speaker 3: golf trip. That sucks.
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: I see all the pictures. They look like they're having
- 2:09:20Speaker 2: a blast.
- 2:09:21Speaker 3: Wish I could be doing that, But I'm doing something
- 2:09:25Speaker 3: incredible in this moment too, like my daughter's coming into
- 2:09:28Speaker 3: the world later this month or whatever. There was a
- 2:09:32Speaker 3: great wedding. One of my close friends shout out andre
- 2:09:35Speaker 3: that it was out of the country. Would have loved
- 2:09:39Speaker 3: to be there, And you see all the pictures, you're like,
- 2:09:42Speaker 3: oh man, but it's also like, hey, we're doing something
- 2:09:45Speaker 3: big here too. It's stuff.
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: It's like, I think the nature in all of us
- 2:09:50Speaker 1: is we're all you know, we want We're like people pleasers, right,
- 2:09:53Speaker 1: I want to please everybody. And then you realize when
- 2:09:55Speaker 1: you're trying to please everybody, you see where you can't
- 2:10:00Speaker 1: pour into the things that you absolutely prioritize in your life,
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: and you see how it affects that, and then you
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: feel so spread thin and stressed about it when it's like, Okay,
- 2:10:08Speaker 1: let's just think about the things that I want to do.
- 2:10:10Speaker 1: How can I prioritize this? How can I structure it?
- 2:10:13Speaker 1: And then that helps you say no, you understand, like
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: where your boundaries are.
- 2:10:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
