- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show, Live from the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Doubo r Life back studios. Well, Lizpeak the Brilliant column list,
- 0:11Speaker 1: the Foxnews contributor reader columns at Foxnews dot com, Orthehill
- 0:17Speaker 1: dot com. Check out lizpeak dot com, and of course
- 0:21Speaker 1: follow her on Twitter and she's with us now. Liz Peak,
- 0:23Speaker 1: How you doing.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I'm great, Thank you for having me on Mark.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hey last night. What'd you think the primaries? I know
- 0:31Speaker 1: you thought Platner would win, but did you think he'd
- 0:33Speaker 1: win that big?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Well? Who was the competition?
- 0:37Speaker 3: All these headlines about Platner winning the primary? Did you
- 0:40Speaker 3: think that Janet Mills was going to get a big
- 0:43Speaker 3: following after she dropped out of the race, or you know,
- 0:46Speaker 3: one of the other I mean, honestly, I'm kind of
- 0:49Speaker 3: surprised that everyone is highlighting that race when no one
- 0:53Speaker 3: ever mentioned any other name race. Have you ever seen
- 0:58Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, I've seen no commentary about who else
- 1:03Speaker 3: was running, So yes, I think it's By the way,
- 1:06Speaker 3: it's not just that there was no competition, it's also
- 1:09Speaker 3: the Plattner's.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Following is energized.
- 1:14Speaker 3: They wanted to show the world that no matter whether
- 1:17Speaker 3: he's a Nazi, and he's a person who is harmful
- 1:22Speaker 3: to women, and he's a liar, and he's a fraud
- 1:25Speaker 3: and all the things that I think you.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And I would agree on.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Boy, they're in for the long run, and they couldn't
- 1:31Speaker 3: be happier to support it. The question is whether that
- 1:34Speaker 3: lasts two November, whether there are other allegations that come out,
- 1:38Speaker 3: whether Susan Collins begins to punch back, which she needs
- 1:41Speaker 3: to do.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So you know, we'll see. I don't think this story
- 1:46Speaker 2: is written, So.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Then is it? What would you have to do to
- 1:50Speaker 1: turn off Democratic voters? If the Nazi tattoo and the
- 1:52Speaker 1: other stuff doesn't do it, what would you have to do? Oh?
- 1:56Speaker 3: I think again, Remember who votes in the primaries, mar
- 2:00Speaker 3: It's the extreme on both sides. The extreme right comes
- 2:04Speaker 3: out to vote, the extreme left comes out to vote.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It is not all those centrist main voters who have
- 2:11Speaker 3: supported Susan Collins and defied for mediocre polling for decades.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I mean, you know, Susan Collins is a non Trump Republican.
- 2:22Speaker 3: That is a pretty safe place to be I think
- 2:26Speaker 3: in the state of Maine, obviously, between now and November.
- 2:30Speaker 3: If we do not see a resolution of the Iran war.
- 2:34Speaker 3: If oil prices fight because we run out of crude inventories,
- 2:38Speaker 3: if any number of a dozen things happen that basically
- 2:43Speaker 3: worsen the people's perceptions of the administration. Obviously, Republicans are
- 2:48Speaker 3: going to take it on the chin, including someone like
- 2:51Speaker 3: Susan Collins, who again is not a Trump Republican.
- 2:56Speaker 2: But you know, failing.
- 2:57Speaker 3: That, if we just have sort of neutral if we
- 3:00Speaker 3: get through this around war, if oil prices and gasoline
- 3:04Speaker 3: prices come back, I just think a lot of the
- 3:06Speaker 3: energy behind someone like grand Platner goes away.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, let's peak. He wrote an excellent column it's
- 3:14Speaker 1: up on foxnews dot com about Democrats and turning their
- 3:17Speaker 1: back on Israel, their anti Israel stuff. It's shocking. But
- 3:24Speaker 1: when is this ever going to end? This anti Israel
- 3:26Speaker 1: nonsense by the Democrats.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:30Speaker 3: And I think it's astonishing that the Democratic Party, now
- 3:34Speaker 3: seventy two percent of the party now thinks we should
- 3:38Speaker 3: not be supporting Israel, we should not give any aid
- 3:41Speaker 3: to Israel. That's really concentrated amongst young voters. Young voters
- 3:46Speaker 3: have been convinced by their left leaning faculties that Israel
- 3:51Speaker 3: is the villain in the Middle East. I mean, it's
- 3:53Speaker 3: a pretty astonishing thing when both left and right have
- 3:58Speaker 3: taken on Israel for various issues. On the left it's
- 4:02Speaker 3: all about values. Right, it's about colonialism and this spurious
- 4:08Speaker 3: charge of genocide against the Palestinian people. People should remember
- 4:13Speaker 3: the Palestinians voted in Hamas a terror organization. Hamas killed
- 4:19Speaker 3: twelve hundred Israelis on October seven, twenty twenty three, for
- 4:25Speaker 3: no reason whatsoever except that they were going to a
- 4:27Speaker 3: concert and Hamas wants to kill Jews.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I mean, it is an appalling organization.
- 4:33Speaker 3: My point in this article, Mark is not that everyone
- 4:37Speaker 3: has to support Israel, but if you don't, you have
- 4:40Speaker 3: to fess up to is who you are supporting. Are
- 4:44Speaker 3: you supporting Hamas and Hezbala and the Hutis, the propzies
- 4:48Speaker 3: of Iran that carry out their dirty work? Are you
- 4:52Speaker 3: just basically pro Iran? Because Israel's at war with Iran.
- 4:55Speaker 3: There is no neutral territory. It's a binary choice. So
- 5:00Speaker 3: you know, you can sort of say a pops on
- 5:02Speaker 3: both their houses. That's kind of understandable. We don't necessarily
- 5:07Speaker 3: have to engage in every Middle East conflict, emotionally or militarily.
- 5:12Speaker 3: But you can't really say that I'm against Israel and
- 5:15Speaker 3: not claim who you're for. I think what's interesting is
- 5:19Speaker 3: on the right, the American far right now, like Tucker Carlson,
- 5:24Speaker 3: some of these people are saying, well, we have no
- 5:27Speaker 3: self interest in defending Israel. We are not aligned with Israel.
- 5:31Speaker 3: You know, there is credibly no other nation, there's maybe
- 5:36Speaker 3: one or two nations in the entire world that have
- 5:39Speaker 3: the military, intelligence and technology capabilities of Israel. That makes
- 5:46Speaker 3: them an important ally no matter what. Consider the intelligence
- 5:51Speaker 3: we get from Asade well, probably the best intelligence organization
- 5:55Speaker 3: on Earth, not just about what's going on in the
- 5:59Speaker 3: Middle East, but also about what's going on in Russia,
- 6:01Speaker 3: what's going on in China. Masad is everywhere, and they
- 6:04Speaker 3: are incredibly capable, and we use their intelligence and yes,
- 6:08Speaker 3: we share intelligence with them. Militarily, Israel has an incredibly
- 6:14Speaker 3: strong and capable army, which we have seen because we're
- 6:18Speaker 3: not the only people fighting in Iran.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Israel is helping with that as well.
- 6:23Speaker 3: And technologically it's the biggest source of startups other than
- 6:27Speaker 3: the US and the world, so which which really is
- 6:31Speaker 3: beneficial to US. Iran a hostile nation that you know,
- 6:35Speaker 3: talks about death to America repeatedly and has nothing or Israel,
- 6:39Speaker 3: I mean, it's just stupid.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, what would the Middle East look like without Israel there?
- 6:43Speaker 1: What would happen to the east of the country the.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Question, because by the way, it's not just Israel versus
- 6:48Speaker 3: all of the Arab countries, it's and person nation whatever.
- 6:53Speaker 3: It's also Shia Muslims versus Sunni Muslims. Israel is not
- 6:57Speaker 3: the only problem that they have, and we've seen in
- 7:00Speaker 3: this and more right of being because Iran has taken
- 7:02Speaker 3: on bombing Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, et cetera, Leben Jordan and
- 7:09Speaker 3: other Gulf states that are now more or less aligned
- 7:12Speaker 3: with Israel. So it you know, to now sort of
- 7:16Speaker 3: throw Israel under the bus, it makes no sense whatsoever.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But these people don't make sense.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Hey, let's peak on Friday the big ipo SpaceX. Is
- 7:28Speaker 1: that going to be the most impressive IPO we've ever seen?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Or is it going to be one big circus on Friday?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Well, I think what's interesting is that SpaceX is being
- 7:36Speaker 3: valued very very richly, at one hundred times last year's revenues.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Just as an example, it is.
- 7:47Speaker 3: A price tag that assumes everything goes right. It assumes
- 7:51Speaker 3: that Elon Musk will be able to fairly soon commercialize
- 7:56Speaker 3: data centers in outer space and make all kinds of
- 8:01Speaker 3: technological breakthroughs with driverless cars, reusable rocket launchers, et cetera.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I never bet against Elon Musk. I think the guy
- 8:10Speaker 3: is brilliant. The question is whether all of that brilliance
- 8:14Speaker 3: and excitement about this company is already in the stock price,
- 8:17Speaker 3: the evaluation price. I sort of think it is mark
- 8:20Speaker 3: And you know, I've taught I've had dinner the other
- 8:24Speaker 3: night with a few people who all of whom have
- 8:26Speaker 3: some position in SpaceX because of private investments and so forth,
- 8:32Speaker 3: and there was a pretty good sense that they might
- 8:34Speaker 3: take some money off the table. I think that will
- 8:37Speaker 3: keep the stock from you know, people are being paid
- 8:40Speaker 3: out who've been involved with this thing for several years,
- 8:43Speaker 3: and most have made multiples on their money. I think
- 8:47Speaker 3: you'll see some profit taking. But again, do you want
- 8:50Speaker 3: to own SpaceX or be involved for the long term? Yes,
- 8:54Speaker 3: I'm not sure I would buy on the offering.
- 8:56Speaker 1: No, And that day, if it'll probably go crazy, the
- 9:00Speaker 1: price will just explode. But like the Tesla stock, it'll
- 9:05Speaker 1: go after that, it'll bounce up and down. There's plenty
- 9:08Speaker 1: of other times you can totally it if you want
- 9:10Speaker 1: to get in totally.
- 9:10Speaker 3: And by the way, my view of the tech sellof
- 9:14Speaker 3: and the volatility and tech stocks recently A the valuations
- 9:17Speaker 3: are high.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Everybody knows that. But also you have two.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Other big IPOs coming and Tropic and Open AI, and
- 9:26Speaker 3: we're going to see a lot of real data about
- 9:29Speaker 3: how these companies are doing, what they're spending, what their
- 9:32Speaker 3: capital expenditures look like, what their revenues look like. It
- 9:35Speaker 3: takes a little bit of the fantasy land aspect away
- 9:39Speaker 3: from these valuations and these investments and brings them down
- 9:43Speaker 3: to earth. And I think that's I think that's causing
- 9:46Speaker 3: a little heartburn amongst the AI enthusiast crowd.
- 9:51Speaker 1: A lit Peak brilliant has always great stuff. Go to
- 9:55Speaker 1: a You can read list Peak's column Great Combat Israel
- 9:58Speaker 1: at Fox News and The Hill dot com. Her columns
- 10:02Speaker 1: are up there, and follow her on Twitter and she's
- 10:05Speaker 1: all over television, and check out lizpeak dot com. Lizpeak,
- 10:10Speaker 1: thanks for being with us.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Mark, thanks for having me.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Take care all right, take care. Yeah, SpaceX on Friday
- 10:20Speaker 1: price one hundred and thirty five dollars. It could go
- 10:23Speaker 1: absolutely crazy. It could go to two hundred five hundred twelvedred.
- 10:26Speaker 1: You never know, but remember after that, like every elon
- 10:30Speaker 1: musk Stock, it'll go up and there'll be plenty of
- 10:33Speaker 1: other opportunities to get in. So Hey. Coming up at
- 10:38Speaker 1: at twelve noon, Buck Sexton and Klaytravis will be here.
- 10:42Speaker 1: They do a really good show every day noon to three.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Then you got the most listened to radio show in America,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Sean Hannity. At three, you got Jesse Kelly. Every night.
- 10:51Speaker 1: At six, you got Jimmy Faylor, really good, very funny show.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It's every night at nine. Now on seven to ten
- 10:58Speaker 1: wor
