- 0:00You're listening to Bantor with the Boys, talking all things sports.
- 0:08From betting and brawls, Superball to Stanley Cup Finals.
- 0:13Get laced up.
- 0:14It's time for Bantor with the Boys.
- 0:30What's up everybody?
- 0:31Welcome back to Bantor with the Boys.
- 0:33I'm back this week.
- 0:34I had a little sickness last week that went through the household.
- 0:38Thank you Daycare.
- 0:39That is a joy.
- 0:40That is a joy.
- 0:41As always, got my main man Smelty with me.
- 0:43How we doing?
- 0:44I'm alright.
- 0:46You're back, back again of course.
- 0:48But yeah, hopefully we took care of business last week while you were gone, Kevin and I.
- 0:54But welcome back.
- 0:56Hopefully is everybody feeling good?
- 0:57Like everybody in the household now healthy?
- 0:59Well I don't know if it's necessarily the most healthy, but we're feeling a lot better
- 1:03than last week.
- 1:04We're feeling a lot better than last week.
- 1:05Trending in the right direction.
- 1:07Draft stock is going up.
- 1:09Absolutely man, absolutely.
- 1:10Draft stock is back up and running.
- 1:12We were projected back in the second round.
- 1:14Still got some work to do to get to the first.
- 1:16But on that note, thank you guys for taking over last week.
- 1:20Cavity did an amazing job brother.
- 1:22Not always on the X's and the O's.
- 1:23Sometimes you got to make those appearances.
- 1:25We love you man.
- 1:27On that note, let's get into the week 14 recap.
- 1:30Unfortunately we're going to start with my Packers this week.
- 1:33Boy did they shit the bed last night.
- 1:35For whatever reason this year we show up against the good teams, can't show up against the
- 1:38bad teams that we're supposed to beat.
- 1:40We ended up losing this one 22-24.
- 1:43Did have the lead, you know for the most part going into the second half at least you know
- 1:47we did.
- 1:48Then the Giants kind of maybe went on a little run.
- 1:53The offense was back to what it was when I was back talking shit about the offense that
- 1:56we did have.
- 1:57So I think I am going to go back to just not being high on Jordan Love because for whatever
- 2:01reason he just has a vendetta against me personally.
- 2:04He listens to the pot.
- 2:05He does.
- 2:06He does.
- 2:07So keep listening J Love.
- 2:08As much as I love my Packers I hate you.
- 2:10So hopefully this is what it takes to get back into your prime form as I'm kidding I
- 2:14don't hate you J Love.
- 2:15But what do you think Smelty?
- 2:17What a shitty game man.
- 2:18Who do they play next week?
- 2:20The Bucs?
- 2:21No okay it'll go for 300 yards and three tuds next week.
- 2:23Now you talk shit about them.
- 2:25No I mean all in all I don't know the Packers look different this week than they did the
- 2:31week prior.
- 2:32I don't know J Love just wasn't as sharp this week and it was obvious.
- 2:36And then you know leading as late as they did and then obviously who caught that touchdown
- 2:43at the end was it Jaden Reed?
- 2:44Or I'm sorry yeah Jaden Reed was it Reed that caught that touchdown?
- 2:47For the Packers?
- 2:48No.
- 2:49Milly Heath.
- 2:50Did they?
- 2:51Oh that's right they overturned that one that he reached across the goal line with right?
- 2:55Yeah yeah that's right and then they found Heath okay okay.
- 3:00But like the drive after that for the Giants like what the hell happened with the defense?
- 3:05Tommy Cutlet's brother?
- 3:07I don't know man the defense actually played pretty damn good this whole game especially
- 3:11for.
- 3:12Until that moment.
- 3:13Yeah until we needed them the most then you know they got the run game going and like
- 3:16the last two or three drives was where the bulk of Saquon's yards came from in this game.
- 3:20We couldn't stop Tommy DeVito in the run game.
- 3:23You know he didn't have a great game passing.
- 3:26He's 17 for 21 looks good but for 158 yards and one touchdown.
- 3:32But no picks no sacks?
- 3:34No picks no sacks.
- 3:35What surprised me the most about this game is we did not get any sacks.
- 3:37The Giants offensive line is one of the worst in the league.
- 3:39We have a pretty formidable pass rush you know they're not gaudy you know they're not
- 3:43the they're not the Niners and then not the Cowboys nothing remotely close to that but
- 3:48you know we do have Rashaun Gary.
- 3:49He didn't show up this game and I've been praising him throughout the whole year and
- 3:53we just we couldn't contain DeVito for one and then we just couldn't really get the pressure
- 3:59on him to cause that big defensive play that's kind of gotten us through the last couple
- 4:03of weeks.
- 4:04Like the like the picks and other stuff like that.
- 4:06It just wasn't there and that and that's the thing him being 17 for 21 yeah it's only 158
- 4:12yards but what that tells me is that he's able to find his check downs quick.
- 4:18You know he's able to bail out of whatever you know I'm sure walking up to the line you
- 4:21have somebody you're looking for immediately like I'm looking for this dude off the snap
- 4:26immediately but he's able to move on from it.
- 4:29Unlike some other quarterbacks we'll talk about tonight but he's able to move on from
- 4:33that first read even the second read boom there's your check down before he gets sacked
- 4:37or is able to throw the ball away but only four incompletions he was obviously finding
- 4:42people all game.
- 4:43Yeah it might only be for two yards but two yards is better than zero yards.
- 4:47Yeah and those four incompletions I want to they like there was two really bad throws
- 4:51on their first drive and then the next drive there was one so I mean if my memory serves
- 4:55me right that's three of those four in the first two drives and then you look at love
- 5:00on the other side the first drive he missed two throws that weren't hard throws you just
- 5:05have to make those throws and then that pick was just horrendous.
- 5:08Yeah horrible the first drive they went three and out yeah or did they get one first they
- 5:12didn't go three and out.
- 5:13I believe they no they went three and out because it was a quick pass outside that he
- 5:17just completely missed I believe it was Dobbs then he missed AJ Dillon on a wide open one
- 5:21it was just not that he was like highly pressured he just straight up sails it and like I said
- 5:26that pick is it was just horrendous you can't make that throw I don't know what he was thinking
- 5:33and you know luckily the Giants didn't capitalize on that our defense played great the first
- 5:38half and then they did but the offense was really forcing it to me the Packers offense
- 5:44was forcing it no matter if they were trying to run the ball or throw the ball they're
- 5:48forcing it I mean 39 attempts you're forcing him to try to throw the ball on this defense
- 5:53which you should be able to do.
- 5:55No you absolutely should be able to it's the Giants don't have a great defense by any way
- 6:00shape or form and it was just a weird game because I mean the Packers were basically
- 6:06in control of the game as poor as they played until Keisha until Keisha and Nixon muffed
- 6:12that punt in the second half and then the Giants scored almost immediately so that was
- 6:17and then you know the Giants just kind of didn't lose that momentum we tried to gain
- 6:21it back we actually drove down the field one one drive we're just they couldn't stop AJ
- 6:26Dillon from getting three to four five yards a carry and love was actually finding those
- 6:30receivers and then we try a double fucking reverse like what are we doing just like like
- 6:37we're actually getting a north and south right now which you really haven't been able to
- 6:41do and then you just try this and yeah the the the end around to Jayden Reed was working
- 6:46great but like why when you're having that that just blows my mind about this LeFleur
- 6:51play calling it just you have something going and then you have to do this trick play and
- 6:56then the double reverse try pass like what are we doing right now you're just killing
- 7:01your own momentum any any time the Packers look like they're starting to gain some momentum
- 7:05and I don't care what anybody said how do you feel about momentum like momentum in a
- 7:09game whether it's a matter whatever especially as the away team right like if you have well
- 7:13I say that I mean I say that is in it weighs heavier as a home team so if you have the
- 7:18momentum as an away team like you have to take advantage of that because it's not something
- 7:22you're gonna regularly get you're not gonna get it the entire game no and it just takes
- 7:26one play for that momentum to shift if you're the way team and I it was just it was just
- 7:33every drive they really couldn't yeah there's points on the board but they they just struggle
- 7:39to put together full drives every game every game every game yeah you're right and usually
- 7:46that falls in the first half like the offense was just it just I don't understand and they
- 7:52were they were winning at halftime right yeah tennis 10-7 doing just fine again most likely
- 7:58in control of the game and then they decide to I don't know I feel like they really didn't
- 8:05adjust much coming out of half they didn't they didn't adjust much coming out of half
- 8:10at all and that's actually where we've had a lot of success right is your second half
- 8:15and where that momentum shift is that must punt was the Packers actually went three and
- 8:19out and held the Giants are three and out coming out of the half and then we must upon
- 8:23we give it to them in their own 20 and I mean the game was really over from there the the
- 8:28Giants went up 1410 and then the Packers did end up going up 2221 you know they got the
- 8:35that field goal and that that missed field goal by Anders Carlsen really hurts now especially
- 8:41you know with the the game from what it was and I don't know this game was just frustrating
- 8:47because at no point did I think like the Packers were in full control of this game that they
- 8:50were gonna pull it off and I just should have that confidence against the Giants you should
- 8:55know you definitely should but like DeVito and Barkley were and we're doing just enough
- 9:01to keep them in front he was either one of them coming up with a clutch play every drive
- 9:06to kind of keep that hope alive that they could beat you guys so I I feel like the Packers
- 9:13really let only two players beat them truly it 100% 100% it was nobody defensively jumped
- 9:22off the stat sheet and yeah man all of the confidence I had from the last three weeks
- 9:28playing three two really good teams one good team and then you just throw it away I mean
- 9:34we're still in the playoffs right now so I mean it's not like I'm just down on the season
- 9:38we have a very easy schedule yeah right right yeah it's not it's not super hard you go no
- 9:44actually I'm sorry the Bucks go to you this weekend I think that's a winnable game that's
- 9:48a game that you have to use to get back on track to sneak into that playoff yeah and
- 9:52then it's Panthers Vikings Bears all winnable games I believe the Bears game is at Lambeau
- 9:59if I'm not mistaken those are all winnable games yeah they're all games were favored
- 10:02in like as of right now and when we were six and a half point favorite going into this
- 10:05game which I obviously we both took that we thought it was easy money it was not easy
- 10:12money no that's that's when I was just like all right we were on a roll we're gonna keep
- 10:15rolling but enough about the Packers man I really think we're gonna bounce back next
- 10:19week we still like I said are in playoffs right now we control our own destiny so it's
- 10:23I think we could still make the playoffs this year will we do anything that's depends on
- 10:27the J love we get let's transition here let's take a step here and go to the most exciting
- 10:32game we had of the weekend with your Minnesota Vikings traveling to the sin city and pulling
- 10:38out a squeaker that's kind of how it feels a squeaker I think we both have two different
- 10:46definitions of exciting because I I don't know like just just to give you an example
- 10:53like when the Vikings were getting smoked and then if she championship game in Philly
- 10:56a number of years back I watched the whole game I don't know why it was really disheartening
- 11:02but I saw I watched the whole damn game and this weekend I damn near wanted to turn that
- 11:07thing off it was so ha no words I have no words I tell you what Josh Dobbs as we found
- 11:17out today Nick Mullins will be the starter going into next week but the deal with Josh
- 11:23Dobbs I think he just he he knows who he's gonna throw to immediately and he doesn't
- 11:30come off them and then when they're not open he waits for them to get open and that's where
- 11:35either okay now it's either he's scrambling or taking a sack if we're lucky he throws
- 11:41the ball away but he literally you saw it this week and he literally waited until somebody
- 11:47came open instead of throwing someone open instead of even he wasn't even leading his
- 11:52receivers some of the throws they were behind him because he waited and then threw it to
- 11:56where they where they are not where they were going so I just Josh jobs took a huge step
- 12:03backwards this week just in his professional career I he was on track to potentially earn
- 12:10a big ish contract as a backup to potentially challenge for a starting spot if not start
- 12:18for the Vikings next season and now I don't think that's even in the question I think
- 12:22Kwesi's calling Kirk Cousins at halftime like hey homie let's get this deal worked out like
- 12:27today yeah absolutely I mean that game was terrible I had it on as one of the the quad
- 12:33boxes on the big TV and I say that like it's a fucking theater room it's just my living
- 12:38room TV it's just not my laptop which I watch restaurant theater room fake it till you make
- 12:42it you got a theater room but yeah so I had it on and I was actually you know the four
- 12:47games that's the one I was listening to but I really can't say I was steak yeah I can't
- 12:51say I watched it because it was just I tried you know because it's being in on this podcast
- 12:56we talk about two games the most our two teams so I'd you know want to have a vested interest
- 13:01and I just couldn't do a man it was it just both sides it was terrible I mean good defensive
- 13:08game the defenses looked good and then Max Crosby's just a fucking wrecking freak of
- 13:13nature dude and and the thing is is like people are gonna say oh of course you're gonna say
- 13:17good defenses but when the offensive sucks so bad it's a little both a little both I
- 13:21do think both defenses played pretty darn well like you mentioned Max Crosby dude he
- 13:27manhandled Brian O'Neill until he injured Brian O'Neill all game I think O'Neill went
- 13:33out in the third quarter it could have been the second quarter I can't remember off the
- 13:36top of my head but dude he was manhandling all him all game and Brian O'Neill is what
- 13:40one two time all-pro one of the better right tackles in the league he's starting to sputter
- 13:45a little bit he is but he's still top ten right tackle in the league I would say so
- 13:50top five okay yeah coming from peg fan top five and Max Crosby absolutely man like almost
- 13:56what Kalo Mack was doing to to tackles like what four years ago or whatever just manhandling
- 14:03yeah it was I mean that was actually it was it was pretty fun to watch just because you
- 14:07don't you don't really see that to pay more attention to the defense in this game on both
- 14:11sides probably because there's nothing going on on the offense so you it forced people
- 14:16that normally maybe don't look at the defenses as much to actually watch the defense you
- 14:21know I don't know yeah I mean if you wanted to like get any excitement out of the game
- 14:26you had to look for defensive plays so yeah but I mean it was just the Vikings defense
- 14:31actually looked really good and like you said yeah the offenses were shit but it's you still
- 14:37got to give credit where credit's due and I do think that you know especially I know
- 14:42you're gonna touch on them but that Ivan Pace jr. he had himself a little coming out party
- 14:45eh well this whole season's a coming out party for him he was an undrafted rookie out of
- 14:52Cincinnati or South Carolina Cincinnati it was a Cincinnati okay I was like I knew it
- 14:58was whatever anyway I was right um undrafted rookie kind of made waves in preseason like
- 15:05people were like well who is this kid and then he kind of he made the roster obviously
- 15:10and then kind of started getting slotted into that starting role because he earned it and
- 15:14you just saw why this past weekend I mean 13 tackles one of them a sack he was he was
- 15:22in the quarterback's face all game he also ended up getting the pretty much the game
- 15:25ceiling pick he read that play like a book just dropped back into coverage I don't know
- 15:30if Aiden didn't see him or whatever but he hucked it right at him and made the play game
- 15:35over pretty much but I mean the Vikings all in all I mean it was an abysmal game on the
- 15:40offensive side of the ball really the only positive is that Alexander Madison was having
- 15:46a great game until he hurt his ankle and then he was kind of I don't think he came back
- 15:51in the game but if he did it was like one play and then he was like I can't go so 10
- 15:56carries 66 yards for him but he actually started breaking some tackles for the first time this
- 16:02season which you haven't seen all year which is kind of what you know us Vikings fans have
- 16:06been asking for which is kind of what he was doing when he was the number two behind Dalvin
- 16:11that power back roll kind of so we saw a little bit of that this weekend so that was that
- 16:17was a positive for me Nick Mullins starting next week we'll see I mean at least at least
- 16:22what Mullins was doing was throwing getting rid of the ball before the receivers were
- 16:26even out of their breaks that's what you have to do in the NFL that's how tight your windows
- 16:31are in the NFL and you saw Nick Mullins doing that kind of Kirk Cousins esque yeah Nick
- 16:36Mullins actually looks halfway decent when he came in he brought some excitement to the
- 16:40game and lately you were touching on Madison it's like he was running angry for the first
- 16:46time this year yeah he didn't look like himself at all this year and that was it should be
- 16:53encouraging as a Vikings fan because you're gonna get JJ back hopefully who knows if he
- 16:57just can last more than a series but it's uh it gives you at least a little bit of balance
- 17:02and that's something that the Vikings offense has like seriously lacked this year so I'd
- 17:07be encouraged if I was a Vikings fan coming out of what you saw in Millen Mullins now
- 17:11granted small sample size so we'll see what he does this week who you guys play they play
- 17:15the at in Cincinnati with against a red hot Jake Browning Jake Browning or Jake Burrow
- 17:21here buddy let's also former Viking of course I didn't know that yeah yeah yeah yeah but
- 17:29uh just real quick before we wrap up this game that really means nothing um Devante
- 17:34Adams uh what what what's next for Devante Adams because I really don't think it's Vegas
- 17:41right now and there's no way he's gonna they just they had a view of him sitting on the
- 17:46sideline this is before the game was even over before you it was still zero zero and
- 17:51uh dude he just looked really beside himself like contemplating life in general like what
- 17:56am I doing here you know he went there to play with Derek Carr obviously and that didn't
- 18:01work out um there's got to be something else that's going to be next for him because I
- 18:07think he's still under contract for next season I can't remember but we all looked that up
- 18:12here but uh I don't know like what what what's next for Devante Adams that's a great question
- 18:18you know I don't uh I don't see Devante Adams as a Raider next year I yeah you know that's
- 18:25what I'm that's what I'm saying I don't either so I'm curious where he goes um do the Jets
- 18:31try to make a play I don't think the Jets I don't know if that's that's crazy that's
- 18:39crazy I don't think so but what if he has he has three years left on his deal I know
- 18:44I just looked too I was like holy shit and it's it's a lot of money I mean you're talking
- 18:48next year's uh well the Vegas Vegas would have to eat some money for him to leave Vegas
- 18:52definitely would have to eat eat some money and I don't know if the Jets the Jets might
- 18:56they're so young that they would have to give up I think too much and but at the same time
- 19:01like Rodgers only has two to three years left and I'm like maybe so you're in the Super
- 19:06Bowl window right now I think Devante would be a great fit on that team pairing him up
- 19:10with Garrett Wilson giving Garrett Wilson that veteran present and I just I it sucks
- 19:17to see because you know I'm a Packer fan and he did he meant so much to me and the Packers
- 19:22that now you see him kind of trickle off when he since he's left now you had two good years
- 19:26in Vegas or you're in and that's the thing like I think if he has a change of scenery
- 19:29next year that trickle effect won't be in effect no because I think he's just suffering
- 19:36to lack of poor quarterback play 100 100 and it'd be interesting I think the Jets would
- 19:42probably be the biggest players in getting them but you would think at least for a PR
- 19:47move but I just I don't who else like I seriously I what about the team that's gonna be flushing
- 19:53Cavs space that's really young that's impressed a lot this year I would love to see him down
- 19:57there with CJ Stroud in Houston mmm oh are you looking at him like Indy yeah young Anthony
- 20:05Richardson but I don't think that would be as enticing for Devante because at this point
- 20:09in his career he's playing to win a championship and get a Super Bowl so I don't think I don't
- 20:14I don't know if he would be the thing that would put him over the edge per se in Houston
- 20:20I think who else could afford him even like I don't even know I think anybody else could
- 20:25afford him unless he stays in Vegas or goes to one of those younger teams and tries to
- 20:29help them make a run like seriously I don't think any of the top teams right now he'd
- 20:34be able to slot in anywhere now does Jerry Jones make something crazy happen to get a
- 20:39Devante Adams maybe I don't know what he would make happen because they're pretty set the
- 20:44way they are but if you add a Devante to that lineup I don't think the Cowboys there's
- 20:49no way so I'm looking at the salary is Devante is yacht it's fine yeah I'm looking for the
- 20:53salary cap next year for the teams and the Cowboys are projected right now to be 13 million
- 20:58under over the cap yeah so not happening no so it's not happening but looking at the top
- 21:03five teams here you have the commanders Titans Patriots Colts and Texans so Colts and Texans
- 21:07have more than seventy thousand dollars in available cap Patriots wouldn't be enticing
- 21:11for him because they don't have a quarterback and he'd be to have to trust in either Caleb
- 21:14Williams or Drake May who is there probably going one of them will be a Patriot next year
- 21:19look at the Colts where so then you have the Titans will Levis looks all right but they're
- 21:23not a championship team and then the commanders don't have a quarterback Sam Hall is not going
- 21:26to be the team let's get the quarterback that takes him to greatness but hearing Devante
- 21:31Adams with Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Deon Brown.
- 21:35Think about him going to that that's what I was saying thinking like when you started
- 21:38listing those teams I was like well Washington's an option maybe but you're right they don't
- 21:42have they don't have a quarterback Sam Hall is not it.
- 21:45You look at those other four teams there's there's really only one team in that top five
- 21:50that has what you could say a solidified top-tier quarterback right now and that's CJ Shroud.
- 21:55Right right and I guess we'll see we'll have to see what happens but I mean I think I think
- 22:01Vegas needs to dump them because him sulking on the sidelines not a good look for either
- 22:07one of them and Vegas isn't anywhere close to contending no no they're going they're
- 22:12about to go into a full rebuild I mean they need to get rid of their head coach and they
- 22:16need to get a quarterback yeah they're a long ways out I guess from those teams I would
- 22:21have the most room Houston does look the most promising you know they're not looking bad
- 22:26in general maybe it'd be a big addition for him and right now the Raiders are projected
- 22:31to have the seventh pick so that's you're not getting Drake May or Caleb Williams and
- 22:38I'm not really a bow nicks and that's not gonna work out I'm not big on any other quarterback
- 22:43coming out this year I'm really not bow nicks I think has he has the Caleb Williams even
- 22:48say if he's for sure coming out yet I know Drake may come on I know but like with the
- 22:54NIL money he can make like if the NIL Mellie pales in comparison to an NFL salary nah-uh
- 23:00brah did you see that did you see that did you see the the possibility for Marvin Harrison
- 23:05jr. okay that's stay in Ohio State yeah but the thing is is don't think Caleb Williams
- 23:10is gonna get that kind of money I don't think he would get as much as an Ohio State player
- 23:14Ohio State's the most touted blah blah blah quarterback I said I don't think he would
- 23:21get as much as Marvin is what Marvin's being offered because simply because Marvin is a
- 23:26sure bet 100% sure bet Caleb is kind of going under that number rough to this year Marvin
- 23:32Harrison Caleb Caleb no no yeah I was gonna say it's not Marvin no no no started great
- 23:35but he kind of fell into that number like right now he's pretty like a lot of people
- 23:38are projecting Drake Drake made it go number one and that wasn't even a thought seven weeks
- 23:42into the college no it wasn't no it wasn't so that could be a whole nother conversation
- 23:46yeah yeah yeah yeah but so Caleb Williams is definitely he's gonna he'll be a one or
- 23:51three pick one through three pick depends on if that second team who it ends up being
- 23:55because right now it's Patriots so yeah right now it's Bears Patriots so you might very
- 24:00well see those two quarterbacks off the board but nonetheless let's switch gears here let's
- 24:04get back into the NFL the week 14 slate we have Buffalo and Kansas City which all joking
- 24:10aside did actually end up being the game of the week that was it was one hell of a game
- 24:14from start to finish Buffalo ended up squeaking this one out winning 20 to 17 with Smelty
- 24:20taking the Buffalo to cover that one and a half points I took the Chiefs to cover that
- 24:25one and a half and they did not because they lost but what a great game from kind of start
- 24:29to finish in this one it's a classic Bill's Chiefs game you know well classic as of like
- 24:34these past few years for sure I forgot to say that at the end of the night but like
- 24:37and everybody already knows that anyway I'm just slapping it in there but like nah no
- 24:43doubt I mean great game back and forth all game but it wouldn't be a Chiefs game without
- 24:47some sort of controversy of course but yeah true truly a hard-fought game both sides both
- 24:55quarterbacks damn near the same shit I mean both thrown over to I'm sorry Josh Allen did
- 25:04not throw over to 52 33 but both a Todd both a pick both use their legs I guess Pat Mahomes
- 25:11only ran at once but you know typical shit from both teams truly yeah it really was and
- 25:16to be honest with you the quarterback play wasn't great it's not what you're supposed
- 25:19to that's what I mean like it wasn't it wasn't quarterback versus quarterback really no I
- 25:23really wasn't and I mean the the story of this game obviously comes at the end well
- 25:28we'll obviously we will touch on that but I think what came at the end of that game
- 25:31overshadows the actual greatness of these two teams rivalry they've kind of built for
- 25:35over the course of the last years and where the hell did James could come from this guy
- 25:39he went he had himself a day 58 yards rushing on 10 carries you know he's averaging over
- 25:44five and a half there and then he had 83 yards on five receptions with that 21 yards 27 yard
- 25:49touchdown that was a thing of beauty that's it that surprised the hell out of me that
- 25:53the Chiefs didn't like have that focal point well I guess that doesn't surprise me that
- 25:57he wasn't the focal point don't get me wrong he's just kind of started finally like obviously
- 26:03everybody's known who he is because of whose brother is too so they think he might have
- 26:07the same ability but he's kind of just finally started emerging more and showing us way more
- 26:13these past few weeks and yeah he did it again I mean his ability to turn that speed on and
- 26:17off is insane yeah it is and he's so so shifty he's a lot shifter than Delvin Delvin's not
- 26:24a power back by any way shape or form but he has a bigger stature to him he's more that
- 26:28he's not a downhill runner but he's more of a downhill runner than James yeah you know
- 26:33and then I don't know I think James Cook is he's exciting to watch just because you never
- 26:37know what you're gonna get you might get 10 carries for 32 yards you might get 10 carries
- 26:42for 80 and he's gonna pop off for one big explosive just fun play to watch but let's
- 26:47get to it Smelty the story of this game came at the last well not the not the last play
- 26:52of the game but the last Chiefs play of the game well it didn't end up being the last
- 26:56Chiefs play of the game but we all know what the what the f you're talking about one of
- 26:59the greatest coolest plays you'll ever see brought back by an offensive offsides by Kaderius
- 27:06Tony and ah that was pretty good yeah but uh I mean to be honest it's it's the right
- 27:19call first off it's a hundred percent the right call to call that back because he was
- 27:24offsides it's not that he was offsides mostly he was egregiously offsides he was off sides
- 27:31and any of these Chiefs fan like some of the stuff I've seen since the game like on social
- 27:37media and stuff it's just ridiculous like you guys know the rules man you know the rules
- 27:42and so the issue is too is that like some of them are like oh well you know Tony did
- 27:47actually check with the ref no he didn't no he looked at him he looked at him I did see
- 27:52him look at him but it was literally like half second like boom done no receivers are
- 27:57actually checking with the ref when they do that they are well they see if they're on
- 28:01the line but the ref will you know go like this or whatever like down the back up or
- 28:05whatever but he's not going to yell across the field that you'd be like hey you're offsides
- 28:09bro that's not going to happen you've been playing he also did it early he did it he
- 28:13did it before his line was even set right yeah before the center even touched the ball
- 28:18which is going to move the ball slightly anyway before his center even touched the ball he
- 28:22looked over at the ref for not even a half second and looked back you've been playing
- 28:26football almost your whole life and that's what you're going to decide like it's on Tony
- 28:32no it 100% is and do I do I agree with the call yes do I agree that it was a penalty
- 28:38yes do I agree with making that call at that point in the game no you got to let that play
- 28:44but when it's not obvious though no I get it I get it and then people talk about the
- 28:48Von Miller play what a play before that or right after it was right after it but the
- 28:53problem with it is the picture that people keep using the still of Von Miller well that
- 28:58effing cameras behind the line of scrimmage not down the line of scrimmage people first
- 29:02off second off as soon as what's their centers name is that Creed Humphrey yeah yeah as soon
- 29:07as Creed's hand moves Von's going guess what he's a Hall of Famer he's got it he's got
- 29:12snap timed up that's not offsides to me no I have no dog in this fight the thing about
- 29:17it smells is they use the same kid the camera didn't move from the Tony play to the Miller
- 29:22play and they went back five yards so you're right they were behind so it's it's like you
- 29:28you can't bring that up the other thing is like and I've seen it now too that Tony was
- 29:32doing it throughout the game was it as a religious no was he warned no but when you look at the
- 29:38amount of calls that of offensive offsides that were called last year versus this year
- 29:42it's three last year versus eleven this year the majority of those offensive offsides are
- 29:47the right or left tackle lining up too far back on the ball aka Jawan Taylor has been
- 29:51known to do it this whole year really which would technically be a legal formation it's
- 29:57still you're right Jawan Taylor has been doing it all year it's still offsides though it's
- 30:00not considered legal formation so it's so counts towards that 11 so you know it's not
- 30:04often a receiver anything split from the line lines up off sides it's a high school penalty
- 30:12it is what that is you don't get called for that at this level so I was listening to the
- 30:17McCann Pat McAfee show yesterday and and they had Ryan Clark on it and you know he's NFL
- 30:23vet he played in the league for a long time and he's like the first thing they teach you
- 30:26in football is alignment then assignment and then I forget the third thing he said but
- 30:31the first thing they teach you when you get to the NFL is before you even know if you're
- 30:36a receiver to run a fucking route is alignment where you line up on the line and it's like
- 30:43and it just the fact that it's Tony and he's cost the Chiefs so much this year so much
- 30:49this year with drops which is bonehead plays and we're gonna get into the reaction to it
- 30:55all here later but it just sucks that that overshadowed the game because it was such
- 31:01a good game.
- 31:02It was truly a good game the defenses really showed up well too that game I mean it was
- 31:07it had a playoff feel to it.
- 31:10As they always were with those two teams.
- 31:13No doubt and you I mean I can't even say it I was gonna say that Josh Allen played a little
- 31:19better than his normal playoff self but he really didn't he played like shit and so did
- 31:22Patrick Ball.
- 31:23Yeah it's like it was like a nine straight game with a turnover or something like that.
- 31:27But again it's like every every snap mattered that game that's that's I guess what I'm getting
- 31:31at like as far as like that playoff feel every single snap mattered.
- 31:35100% 100% and it was yeah yeah well we're gonna get into this game a little bit more
- 31:42a little bit later on here in the pod so let's let's move gears again here we'll talk about
- 31:46the Colts taking on the Bengals traveling to Cincinnati.
- 31:49Cincinnati was actually a one and a half point underdog in this game.
- 31:52I picked the Colts to cover that one and a half points and you picked the Cincinnati
- 31:56to well either win or again cover that one and a half points and you were very right
- 32:02on this one brother.
- 32:03The Colts did not show up Colts ended up losing 14 to 34.
- 32:07The story of this game though is he continues to shine Smelty Mr. Jake Brawrow.
- 32:14Jake that was nice that was nice.
- 32:18You're gonna catch me off guard with every game I think at this point but yeah dude Jake
- 32:23looked I don't know he looked outstanding and I think and I think if you're the Bengals
- 32:32you're feeling actually kind of confident at a potential playoff run at this point.
- 32:36He's doing enough to win games.
- 32:38He just beat another team this weekend that is in the AFC playoff picture for a wild card
- 32:45in that race so he's doing enough and he's got a Vikings team this week that's abysmal
- 32:50on offense right now.
- 32:52The Bengals the Bengals could make a run.
- 32:55They really could I mean the AFC North is kind of trickling outside of the Steelers
- 32:58is sorry not the Steelers but the Ravens as well so I don't know I've been just mad impressed
- 33:03with this cat man.
- 33:05He's never really been given the opportunity in the NFL and now that he has it he's just
- 33:09taken off with it and how about Chase Brown dude.
- 33:12How about Chase Brown?
- 33:15So and that's the thing about Chase Brown so do you watch college football?
- 33:19Yeah I can't say I'm a devoted fan.
- 33:21Hit or miss?
- 33:22What do you watch like if it's on like an Alabama or an SEC score?
- 33:26If it is I'll probably watch the Badgers.
- 33:28Oh duh yeah the Badgers duh duh.
- 33:31Okay so Chase Brown out of Illinois he's been he's been running up and down the Big Ten
- 33:36the past number of years and it was between him and honestly Mo Ibrahim for the Gophers.
- 33:42I can't lie Mo was a beast but anyway shout out.
- 33:45Also probably out of the league already this year but um but Chase Brown dude yeah dude
- 33:49he's a beast he's fast.
- 33:51As soon as he he's a he's a guy that you just want to get the ball in his hands whether
- 33:54it's over in the air or you're handing it off pitching it doesn't matter you just want
- 33:58him to get the want to get the ball in his hands because he can make guys miss and he's
- 34:02not even it's not even his he's got a good juke ability but it's not even just that it's
- 34:07just his ability to start and stop again just so quickly.
- 34:11He's shifty.
- 34:12Yeah and I know we use that word a lot but but what else you can say it's a fact.
- 34:18Yeah he's he's really really like it like I don't want to use it again but he's super
- 34:22elusive so just with the with the way that agile send him in send the names coming in
- 34:29start pulling out a dictionary.
- 34:32But it was also this this Colts offense just couldn't get going man like Michael Pittman
- 34:37had himself a good game but it was the the running game Zach Moss has actually been pretty
- 34:42damn good in in relief of Taylor and he just could not get going.
- 34:47Zach Zach really only had like two good rushes that game yeah and that was it.
- 34:53Damn Trey Sermon I wasn't even sure if he was still in the league to be honest with
- 34:57you so he got three carries for only 13 yards but yeah no Zach Moss just he didn't have
- 35:02it going this week at all.
- 35:04I mean that that 12 yard run was about all he had.
- 35:08I think he had like getting one other like kind of bigger run but that was I mean not
- 35:12more than 12 obviously.
- 35:14Right and the Colts need a balanced offense because Gardner's not going to go and win
- 35:18you games.
- 35:19He's going to play good enough where he's probably not going to lose you the game but
- 35:23they need some sort of balance ability.
- 35:25Even just having 18 rushes now granted why would you run more than that when you're averaging
- 35:292.6 yards a carry and you're down so much throughout the game but.
- 35:34Well and that's just it after that third quarter now now that whole fourth quarter you're throwing
- 35:38the ball yeah you know yeah trying to just play catch up at that point.
- 35:42But it was yeah another great game for Pittman and like it's good to see him becoming more
- 35:46consistent because right when he came into the league high expectations kind of didn't
- 35:50do a whole lot but now he's starting to get a little more consistent with it and I think
- 35:55that's a really good sign for Colts fans.
- 35:57Adding Devante Adams to that.
- 35:59That'd be wild but I think Pittman's biggest issue is just inconsistent quarterback play.
- 36:04You know he hasn't had a quarterback for longer than two years since he's been in the league.
- 36:09Well and hopefully now that Anthony Richardson is kind of starting to learn hopefully he
- 36:14learns this offseason how to protect his body a little bit more.
- 36:18He's got to take some notes from Tua.
- 36:19Yeah he needs to take them jujitsu classes or judo whatever it was.
- 36:23How many games has Tua played this year.
- 36:24You know what I mean.
- 36:25So like it's obviously helping him and there's some video I saw not to go on a tangent about
- 36:30Tua but there's some video I saw earlier this season like of him like getting pushed back
- 36:35after the play you know probably a QB hit I'm sure but he like somersaults backwards
- 36:40to get out of it instead of slamming on the ground.
- 36:42Boom somersaults backwards or some crazy shit gets right up he's fine.
- 36:46Yeah he did like a back roll.
- 36:48Yeah and it's a I was really excited for Anthony Richardson coming into this year.
- 36:54I really thought that in my opinion he was going to be the best quarterback out of this
- 36:58class now CJ Stroud.
- 37:00It would take a lot for Richardson to kind of surpass what Stroud's doing.
- 37:02But knowing what you knew then which was nothing right.
- 37:06We had only their college shit to look at really.
- 37:09So I would have gave that to you with how much his draft stock rose right before the
- 37:14draft with because of how good of an athlete he is.
- 37:18Like he was is he a better athlete than Lamar Jackson you think.
- 37:22No I don't know if I'll go to that stage yet but it was like that was the thing with Richardson
- 37:25is I didn't expect him to come in and be the best quarterback out of that draft class this
- 37:29year.
- 37:30He's going to be the best like he's the best in Stroud in my opinion was the best quarterback
- 37:35to come in and start and be consistent with the opportunity to be great.
- 37:40Richardson has the high ceiling right.
- 37:41So he has the high ceiling because he can just do so much.
- 37:44I haven't really been I wasn't really big on Bryce Young coming out and I mean he's
- 37:47been put in a terrible position to succeed so I'm not going to blame him anything on
- 37:50his anything on him.
- 37:51I think you need two more years.
- 37:53You need at least three years to judge a quarterback truly.
- 37:56You also have a high level quarterback unless you're Jermarcus Russell or something.
- 38:02You got to build the team around him.
- 38:03You got to get him some good coaches in there and I'm I don't know how to feel about the
- 38:09Coats at this point though.
- 38:10You know the Coats are one of my their team that I do like outside of the Chargers are
- 38:14my favorite AFC team and it's.
- 38:17I think the defense is good enough they can sneak in.
- 38:20I do.
- 38:21The defense it's been so inconsistent this year though.
- 38:24This is an awkward time to be saying that to be honest after just getting whooped this
- 38:28last weekend.
- 38:29But like I would have said that shit before last game.
- 38:33You know the defense is good enough to carry you into the playoffs.
- 38:36You know obviously we saw some holes this week and again a red hot Jake Browning which
- 38:40I think he could do that same thing to the Vikings this weekend.
- 38:44But I don't see why he wouldn't.
- 38:45I just I don't know.
- 38:48I don't know.
- 38:49I I don't know.
- 38:51I think you still see the cold sneak in.
- 38:53I really do.
- 38:54I do.
- 38:55And they're like as we stand right now they are projected to be in the playoffs.
- 38:58At the seventh seed like today?
- 39:00Yeah right now they're the seventh seed.
- 39:01The Bengals are actually the tenth seed.
- 39:03But there's also.
- 39:04There's so much can change right there.
- 39:06There's six teams tied at seven and six.
- 39:08And that's the sixth and seventh seed is where it starts at the sixth.
- 39:12We're gonna have some crazy flexed games coming up.
- 39:15Yeah I'm interested to see if that Packers Vikings game is gonna get flexed.
- 39:18It depends on where they stand.
- 39:19I mean shit.
- 39:20You know I'm who knows.
- 39:23It could by then.
- 39:24Yes sir.
- 39:26Well that's enough about that game as a whole here.
- 39:29Let's move on to what we had as the game of the week.
- 39:32And it turned out being a ass whooping.
- 39:35We had the Eagles traveling down to Dallas taking on the Cowboys.
- 39:40Dallas was actually favored by three and a half in this game.
- 39:42I as you can probably tell by the trend here took the Philadelphia Eagles to cover that
- 39:47three and a half.
- 39:48Smelty took them the Cowboys to win by more than three and a half.
- 39:52And I went 0-4 this week on my picks.
- 39:53So we have told you that we will get those standings out.
- 39:56I think we're gonna start with next week and get you it from there.
- 40:00No I'm gonna go back and look at all this shit.
- 40:04But in all seriousness here the Eagles just they don't look anything remotely close to
- 40:10what their team was last year.
- 40:12And the Cowboys look damn good man.
- 40:14Dag Prescott is he's only doing everything he can to play himself into the MVP right
- 40:19now.
- 40:20Everyone in time he's my MVP.
- 40:22Damn really?
- 40:23Yeah I don't see I mean the only other person that can be in that consideration right now
- 40:29in my opinion is Brock Purdy.
- 40:31Oh for NFC or are you talking overall league?
- 40:38You can make an argument for Tua because my argument against Brock Purdy is the same reason
- 40:42I wouldn't include Tua in that.
- 40:43Is there no argument for Tyreek to be a beat out a quarterback this year?
- 40:46There's no it's just not gonna happen.
- 40:48No it's I mean in my opinion is Tyreek.
- 40:51What about Christian McCaffrey?
- 40:53No.
- 40:54So if you look at it in my opinion like so you have to define what the MVP is right it's
- 40:58the most valuable player.
- 41:00Correct.
- 41:01You take Tyreek off that team?
- 41:03They're probably okay.
- 41:04You take Tua off that team?
- 41:08I think they're more okay than if you take McCaffrey fully away from San Francisco.
- 41:12Ah see I would disagree just because of San Francisco.
- 41:14Yes you have Deebo, yes you have Kettle.
- 41:16And you have Elijah Mitchell who's a really good RB2.
- 41:20So it's just and you have Ayuka there it's and San Fran's defense is just too fucking
- 41:24good.
- 41:25Where but so if you have to define the most valuable.
- 41:27Could be Deck.
- 41:28Let's look at look at what the Eagle would happen when Purdy got hurt against the Eagles
- 41:31last year.
- 41:33Yeah they they had no they didn't do shit.
- 41:37They didn't do shit.
- 41:38When Tua got hurt last year the Dolphins sputtered.
- 41:40Yeah yeah I'm just sick of it being a quarterback award.
- 41:45It forever will be.
- 41:46So they need to come up with something else then.
- 41:48It's not a true MVP.
- 41:49Well that's what it is though.
- 41:51That's what it is.
- 41:52The MVP is a quarterback award.
- 41:53The offensive player of the year is probably the best player in the league and then the
- 41:55defensive player of the year.
- 41:56But even even offensive player of the year last year it was like at least on the NFC side
- 42:00Jefferson won it.
- 42:02But there was what?
- 42:03It was between Jalen Hurts, Jefferson.
- 42:06I thought it was another quarterback.
- 42:07Can't remember.
- 42:08I literally just read that.
- 42:10Fuck.
- 42:11But it's always like quarter even in the offensive player of the years it's always quarterbacks
- 42:15too.
- 42:16But that's where you see the chance for a receiver, running back or somebody else.
- 42:20And I mean at the end of the day Jalen Hurts was one of the best offensive players in the
- 42:24league last year.
- 42:25Oh he could have easily won.
- 42:26So you got to give that credit where it's due there too though.
- 42:29So it's and I mean I don't disagree with you in terms of it shouldn't be a quarterback
- 42:35award but if you look at if you define most valuable player who's the most valuable to
- 42:40their team in their franchise it is 100% going to be the quarterback.
- 42:45It's just disappointing.
- 42:46It sucks.
- 42:47Because there's a lot of other good players that just get overlooked.
- 42:51I mean it's every year though.
- 42:53It's not a new thing.
- 42:54You know the last non-quarterback to win MVP was Adrian Peterson.
- 42:58And what did he have to do?
- 43:00He almost went for 2,000 yards.
- 43:02He did go for 2,000 yards.
- 43:03He was like 8 yards away from breaking the single season record and that was coming off
- 43:08of a torn ACL.
- 43:09Like he had the story behind him.
- 43:11He had the year that was just incredible.
- 43:13Do you think he would have still won it without that story?
- 43:15And we'd have to go back and look at stats because I don't.
- 43:17I think what helped him in the vote.
- 43:19I would have to see who he was against, what quarterbacks did what they did.
- 43:23And what helped him in that regard was it was so remarkable that he did that coming
- 43:26off of an ACL.
- 43:27No 100%.
- 43:28And I wish they would have ran him to freaking get the record.
- 43:32They did bro.
- 43:33They played the Packers week 17 and they did everything they fuck.
- 43:35He went over 200 yards in week 17.
- 43:37They took him out the game late though.
- 43:39No they didn't.
- 43:40I swear to God they did.
- 43:41They decided not to run.
- 43:44I was rooting for them because the Vikings were winning pretty handedly so they weren't
- 43:48like passing.
- 43:49I remember because I was actually rooting for them to get it.
- 43:52To break it because you were there you said?
- 43:53No no no.
- 43:54I wasn't there but it was like you don't see this.
- 43:56When is the...
- 43:57We're never going to see somebody break that record.
- 43:58Yeah I want to see greatness dude.
- 43:59Between Peterson and Chris Johnson that was the closest we got.
- 44:03Chris Johnson was so fun to watch.
- 44:06But that's for another time.
- 44:07Back to the game.
- 44:08We're going on a tangent.
- 44:09What do you make of this man?
- 44:11The Cowboys, they're the second best team in the NFC in my opinion and the Eagles they
- 44:16look similar to kind of what the Lions are doing right now.
- 44:19Now I'd still say the Eagles are better than the Lions.
- 44:21They are.
- 44:22I would take the Eagles and the Eagles versus Lions matchup but that's exactly what's going
- 44:25on.
- 44:26They are kind of acting like the Lions.
- 44:27Came out strong and now what?
- 44:29Eagles have lost two straight?
- 44:31And kind of what we've been looking for all game.
- 44:34It's not that they just lost two straight.
- 44:35They got their ass whooped two weeks in a row.
- 44:39That defense.
- 44:40What we've been saying, we need to see something from that defense.
- 44:43They can't pressure the quarterback.
- 44:44And they're not showing it.
- 44:46What's the issue?
- 44:47Are they too young?
- 44:48Are they just not?
- 44:49It's the same defense as last year for the most part.
- 44:52They lost Javon Hargrave.
- 44:53He went to San Fran but they gained Jalen Carter.
- 44:58He's the defense of rookie of the year right now.
- 45:01And they cannot get pressure on the quarterback.
- 45:04They broke the record for sacks last year.
- 45:06Compared to the other side of the ball for Dallas where Micah Parsons was in Jalen Hurts
- 45:11face all game.
- 45:14All game Micah Parsons was in Jalen Hurts face.
- 45:17And the Eagles just could not replicate that.
- 45:19They could not.
- 45:20Like you're right.
- 45:21You're right.
- 45:22They couldn't pressure Dak.
- 45:23They got three sacks.
- 45:25But when they weren't sacking them, he had all day to throw the ball.
- 45:29All freaking day.
- 45:30And you're going to give Dak Prescott all day to throw the ball.
- 45:31He's going to find somebody.
- 45:33One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight different receivers for Dallas.
- 45:39Compared to look at Philly.
- 45:42Jalen was only able to find four different guys.
- 45:43Now they're pretty much his main guys right there.
- 45:46But dude, that's it.
- 45:48That's insane.
- 45:49He wasn't able to spread the ball around at all because Micah Parsons was in his face.
- 45:53Jalen found three different guys.
- 45:55They had a fake punt.
- 45:56Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:57Yeah, yeah.
- 45:58Three different guys.
- 46:00That's wild.
- 46:01And it might mean granted.
- 46:02He's three main guys again.
- 46:03But yeah, and it's on it's on 18 targets.
- 46:06It's not like they really like tried to come out and really throw the ball.
- 46:08But what that tells me is he couldn't spread the ball around.
- 46:11He was on his one or two guy, one or number one or number two receiver for that play every
- 46:16play before he either had to dip out or get rid of it or something.
- 46:21Yeah, it was it was it's interesting because it was he was so fun to watch last year, dude.
- 46:26It was so fun to watch.
- 46:27He had the passing ability.
- 46:29He was making plays on the ground.
- 46:31And it's just this year he just looks like kind of like a shell of who he was last year.
- 46:34You think he's playing injured because I know there's something that came out earlier in
- 46:37the season, right?
- 46:38And we were like, he is injured.
- 46:40You know, 14.
- 46:41Right, right.
- 46:42But I don't know.
- 46:43I'm just saying I don't think you'll ever find out if he is because that's who he is.
- 46:47And I respect the shit out of that out of him.
- 46:49I really do respect that.
- 46:50And we're out here talking like the Eagles like it's just been terrible.
- 46:53They've lost what I think they only lost one regular season game last year.
- 46:56Right.
- 46:57Two years as a starter.
- 46:58He's lost four games.
- 46:59Yeah.
- 47:00They're still the number.
- 47:01They're still leading the air.
- 47:03They're not leading their division currently, but they have they have they should not anymore.
- 47:07Not anymore.
- 47:08That was the big that you needed to win that game.
- 47:10They didn't know because they have like themselves.
- 47:13They have the easiest schedule going the rest of the year and the Cowboys have like the
- 47:16third hardest.
- 47:17Doesn't fucking matter for themselves.
- 47:19They needed to beat Dallas, a good team.
- 47:21They split the series.
- 47:25When did they play them before?
- 47:26Oh, that I don't know.
- 47:28Few weeks ago.
- 47:29Right.
- 47:30I thought it was recently, though, like within a month.
- 47:32It wasn't too long ago.
- 47:33I remember that.
- 47:34But like you can't you can't sputter to a division rival this late in the season, though.
- 47:39No, no, we're having the defensive issues that you're having two weeks in a row this
- 47:43late in the season.
- 47:44You have to learn how to get pressure.
- 47:46I don't even hold on here.
- 47:47Who does Philly even play?
- 47:49They got at Seattle next week and then home against the Giants, home against the cards
- 47:56and then away against the Giants.
- 47:57So they got some weeks to repair themselves.
- 48:02But they just can't look like that, man.
- 48:05Yeah.
- 48:06And then if you look at the Cowboys, well, they got the Bills, Dolphins, Lions commanders.
- 48:10Ouch.
- 48:11OK.
- 48:12They'd be lucky to come out of that two and two.
- 48:14What if they do, though?
- 48:15What if they do?
- 48:16So I mean, they got to do it.
- 48:18They're going to have two losses to the Eagles, likely none.
- 48:20So they're tied right now.
- 48:21So Eagles will still have a two game advantage if the Eagles win the rest of their four.
- 48:24Let's go three and one.
- 48:25And they still have a buy game.
- 48:27So let's say Dallas goes two and two, then they would go to and to the Cowboys go to
- 48:31and to the Cowboys have the breaker.
- 48:34If they go to and I guess it depends because right now it goes into like we have to look
- 48:37at the divisional records and then go.
- 48:39Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:40I'm talking about like just pure momentum, pure momentum.
- 48:44If the Cowboys go to and to then they went seven and two in their last nine to end their
- 48:49season.
- 48:50Yeah, yeah, there's easy opponents.
- 48:52They're the Giants, the Panthers, you know.
- 48:54But they also play the Eagles twice, but that's not nine and two.
- 49:00Or I'm sorry, seven and two in your last nine to end the season.
- 49:05You got to be feeling pretty good about yourself and a chance at home field advantage potentially.
- 49:10But I now do I see them beating both the Bills, Dolphins and Lions like those those three
- 49:17games.
- 49:19It's going to be tough to come out of that with two wins.
- 49:22It is.
- 49:23It is.
- 49:24And then Buffalo, that's always a tough place to play.
- 49:26Especially with the way that they're playing.
- 49:27Playing Miami wherever you are is tough.
- 49:31And then the Lions, who knows by then, you know, that's a few weeks out.
- 49:35The Lions are kind of getting week to week all of a sudden.
- 49:39They don't look good, man.
- 49:40Well, I think that's all we have for week 14.
- 49:439-1-1, what's your emergency?
- 49:51Let's get into some tent talk, sir.
- 49:54Let's start off with some injuries.
- 49:56Your boy, Justin Jefferson, long awaited come back from the injury.
- 50:00Didn't last too long, man.
- 50:01What's going on with him?
- 50:02Yeah, I mean, obviously, everybody was super excited to get JJ back, yours truly included.
- 50:09And then, yeah, he didn't last very long.
- 50:11It doesn't help that Dobbs was staring him down the whole time he was actually in the
- 50:14game.
- 50:15But he took a shot to the back, which ended up somehow injuring his chest to the point
- 50:20where he left the game and the stadium and ended up going to the hospital.
- 50:25Turns out everything is OK, I guess.
- 50:28So he just traveled back with the team.
- 50:30And so apparently they're expecting him to most likely play this Saturday, but it's still
- 50:35more of like a day to day situation.
- 50:37Yeah, I thought it was going to be a lot worse than what it ended up being with, you know,
- 50:41him going to the hospital and whatnot.
- 50:43Maybe it was just precautionary because it was chest.
- 50:44It had to have been because he walked off the field on his own accord.
- 50:48He looked he was walking fine.
- 50:49Yeah, he didn't look like he was in like a lot of pain.
- 50:52He wasn't like laboring like TJ Hawkinson every catch.
- 50:57That's hilarious.
- 50:58No offense to TJ, but poor guy.
- 51:00Yeah, I want to see him back.
- 51:01You know, I like what he brings to the NFL.
- 51:02I like what he brings to the Vikings offense.
- 51:05So I hope he plays this week, man.
- 51:06And they need him.
- 51:07They sure do.
- 51:08All right, let's go to the AFC West.
- 51:11Justin Herbert, he fractured his right index finger, came out today that he does indeed
- 51:17need surgery.
- 51:18He's done for the year, man.
- 51:20Yeah, I mean, it's not the I mean, it's a big loss to the Chargers for sure, but it's
- 51:24not a big loss for the season.
- 51:26The season's already lost for the Chargers, to be quite honest.
- 51:29So it'll be a good chance to see what Easton Stick has.
- 51:32I think he's the starter going forward.
- 51:33So I'm not expecting much from him.
- 51:37Yeah.
- 51:38And the Chargers are they're not make they're not doing anything this year.
- 51:40They're basically out of the play.
- 51:41They need to fire their coach.
- 51:42Well, that's that's a whole nother podcast we could have about that.
- 51:45But let's switch focus then to another AFC team here.
- 51:49The Cleveland Browns lost to Juan Jones having knee surgery he's done for the year.
- 51:55Yeah, I mean, that's I mean, for the Browns, you already can't keep losing people.
- 52:00And it seems like they have people dropping every week.
- 52:03And now you're going to lose your rookie right tackle.
- 52:06I'm sorry, I don't think he's right.
- 52:07Could be left.
- 52:08I can't remember.
- 52:09But you're one of your rookie tackles for the season.
- 52:11He's been playing well.
- 52:12He's actually the highest graded pass blocker among among rookies is much lower on the run
- 52:18blocking department.
- 52:19But I think that's easily more easily learned I would imagine than pass blocking when you
- 52:25got to deal with stepping back and dealing with, say, a Nick Bosa or something, you know
- 52:32what I mean?
- 52:33So I think run blocking, he'll be able to figure it out.
- 52:36But either way, big loss to the Cleveland Cleveland offense, especially for a team with
- 52:41footless Joe Flacco back there.
- 52:43I mean, they're eight and five.
- 52:45They're the fifth seed right now.
- 52:46They're they're in control.
- 52:47They're over there for the playoffs.
- 52:48So that is a big loss.
- 52:50A bigger loss.
- 52:52He's still in Kirkush concussion protocol.
- 52:54He hit his head pretty hard on the turf.
- 52:56CJ Stroud, a guy that we've been raving pretty much nonstop this year.
- 53:01That sucks.
- 53:02And I mean, obviously, we don't need to talk about it too much how much they need him in
- 53:07their lineup for them to have an opportunity to win on Sundays right now.
- 53:11Yeah, he means everything to that team right now.
- 53:13He's the heart and soul as a rookie.
- 53:14He's the leader.
- 53:15Another team on the outs.
- 53:16Are they on the outside looking in right now?
- 53:18I think they're part of that 16 tie or whatever.
- 53:22So they got a man.
- 53:24They just need him to play.
- 53:25They do have a chance at the playoffs.
- 53:27Concussion protocol.
- 53:28So, you know, he should be back this year.
- 53:29Hopefully he is.
- 53:30He might even play this week.
- 53:31You can pass that within a day.
- 53:33Then we go over a lot of AFC this week.
- 53:35A lot of AFC this week.
- 53:36We have the star edge rushers for the Steelers.
- 53:39They mean more to that team than anybody.
- 53:41You can make an argument that the T.J.
- 53:43Watt is the MVP of that team.
- 53:44Oh, he is.
- 53:45No, he is.
- 53:46But I mean, what he's been able to do with Alex Highsmith being those constant pressures,
- 53:51both of those fellows in concussion protocol.
- 53:53Big loss to the Steelers.
- 53:54No doubt.
- 53:55And when you're already without Kenny Pickett on the other side of the ball, you need as
- 53:58much help as possible on the defensive side of the ball.
- 54:02And without these two guys, I mean, they're the heart and soul of whatever defense exists
- 54:09there right now.
- 54:10But they're the heart and soul of it.
- 54:11They lead that defense and they need them on the field.
- 54:14And they're two of the best edge rushers in the league.
- 54:16So that's a huge loss.
- 54:18Well, that's all we have for injuries.
- 54:20Not a whole lot of news this week.
- 54:22You know, it's pretty low week there.
- 54:23It's basically just injuries.
- 54:25But as always, we do have to touch on our Roger's watch.
- 54:28He is expected to be cleared for their Christmas Eve game.
- 54:32He will start for the Jets if they are not eliminated from the playoffs.
- 54:35I think right now, the last I saw, they were like 11 percent.
- 54:38Zach Wilson looks real damn good this last week.
- 54:40He played well.
- 54:41Yeah.
- 54:42But if they are eliminated, he might still be the emergency quarterback that suits up
- 54:46if, you know, the first two guys get hurt, which, you know, makes sense.
- 54:49You don't want to put him out there if you don't need to.
- 54:51But the fact that this guy might step foot on a football team in uniform after tearing
- 54:55his ACL in week one is just mind boggling.
- 54:57Third emergency quarterback.
- 54:58So who's backing up Zach Wilson then?
- 55:00Do you know?
- 55:01I don't know, because they cut Tim Boyle.
- 55:02Right.
- 55:03Yeah, I don't even know.
- 55:04But yeah, I mean, it is it is crazy to think that he's even expecting to have a chance
- 55:09to step on the field, like you said.
- 55:11I again, I don't think they will.
- 55:14They will be in playoff contention.
- 55:16So therefore, I do not think we'll see Aaron Rodgers playing on the field again this season.
- 55:22But but we'll just, you know, another another I know I say it all the frickin time.
- 55:26But another thing we just got to kind of see what happened.
- 55:28You know, we can speculate all we want.
- 55:30Until we get to that point, that we get to Christmas Eve and know if the Jets are still
- 55:35looking at a spot or not, then we won't know if we'll see Rodgers.
- 55:39He's a mysterious being.
- 55:41I really hope we do.
- 55:42To answer your question, it's Trevor Simeon and Brett Rippon.
- 55:46So I believe Brett Rippon is right now is the emergency quarterback.
- 55:49Yeah, it would definitely be Simeon.
- 55:51Brett is not.
- 55:52He ain't it.
- 55:53Yes.
- 55:54Well, it's going to be interesting.
- 55:55I hate to rip on him, but it's going to be interesting to see if Zach Wilson can kind
- 56:00of keep that momentum from last game going.
- 56:03And they're five and eight right now.
- 56:04So, you know, they're not out of their two games back from that 16 tie.
- 56:08Let's see who they have for the rest of the year.
- 56:10I was just about to pull it up to I was like, I want to get the Jets to play the Dolphins
- 56:15next week.
- 56:16The commanders, Browns, Patriots.
- 56:18That's two.
- 56:19Yeah, that gets you eight and nine.
- 56:21I don't think that's doing it.
- 56:22If they could squeak out a win against the Dolphins or Browns and even finish three and
- 56:25one for that team to finish nine and eight after losing Rodgers for week one, there would
- 56:29be pretty freaking cool.
- 56:31Impressive.
- 56:32But I.
- 56:33Dolphins, no Browns, maybe not.
- 56:40I don't know.
- 56:41I don't see.
- 56:42With the way Joe Flacco is playing.
- 56:43Yeah.
- 56:44Yeah, no doubt.
- 56:45I don't see it.
- 56:46But you know, all the best for the guy.
- 56:47I hope to see him this season.
- 56:48I really do.
- 56:49But I don't think we will.
- 56:50Yeah, I'm with you.
- 56:51I'm with you.
- 56:52I hope we do.
- 56:53But it's going to be an exciting next year.
- 56:56Well, that leads us to my favorite segment, sir.
- 57:00Your bonehead move of the week.
- 57:02Yes.
- 57:03Well, welcome back to bonehead move of the week.
- 57:09This week, I'm sure most of you that have already listened to some of our episodes can
- 57:12probably gather where we're going to go with this one.
- 57:16Patrick Mahomes, man.
- 57:17One of the most humble players, honestly, in the NFL that you'll find truly every every
- 57:25time they've lost in the past, you know, he always puts it on himself rather than the
- 57:30team.
- 57:32And you know, just wears his heart on a sleeve, you know, really, really takes ownership of
- 57:38the success and fall of the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 57:42Well, this weekend, you didn't really see that with that frustrating call at the end
- 57:48of the game.
- 57:49Mahomes, you know, usually at the end of the game, it's a big deal, right?
- 57:53The cameras follow and everything and you see the quarterbacks go up and can, you know,
- 57:58say what's up to each other, you know, a respect thing.
- 58:01And Mahomes walked up to Josh Allen and said some wild things that I'm going to quote here
- 58:08that will be explicit.
- 58:09So if you want to be mad at somebody for cussing, you can be mad at Patrick Mahomes.
- 58:15As he met Allen on the field, Mahomes said, quote, wildest fucking call I've ever seen
- 58:20offensive offsides in that moment.
- 58:22Man, fucking terrible, end quote, and then walks away from Josh Allen and Josh Allen
- 58:28is kind of funny.
- 58:29Josh Allen is kind of stand there like, okay, which is wild because Josh Allen, how many
- 58:35times Josh Allen been on the other side of that handshake with Patrick Mahomes?
- 58:39You know, you would think he'd have at least a little bit more respect for Josh Allen as
- 58:43a as a fellow quarterback or whatever, you know.
- 58:47But what do you make of what is now becoming the Patrick Mahomes meltdown?
- 58:54It's very uncharacteristic of him.
- 58:56Right.
- 58:57And as you mentioned, he's one of the most humble guys who'll always take credit.
- 59:01And I think it's to the boiling point of the chief's offense this week.
- 59:05Sorry, this year.
- 59:06And after the call last week against the Packers to end it, you know, it's at some point like
- 59:12the guy's fucking human.
- 59:14For sure.
- 59:17Was it uncalled for?
- 59:19Yes.
- 59:20At the end of the day, you should be able to control your emotions.
- 59:22But it was such a spectacular play and such a good play by Travis Kelsey that will probably
- 59:28not be remembered when it's all said and done.
- 59:31Which sucks.
- 59:32Probably the top play of the year.
- 59:34Yeah, I said it had been a candidate.
- 59:36Yeah, I can't think of something off the top of my head.
- 59:39But there's a pass from Kelsey was perfect.
- 59:41It was a perfect spiral.
- 59:42He hit it and Tony caught it as he's getting decked and Tony actually caught it.
- 59:46Yeah.
- 59:47Right.
- 59:48No, but but yeah, so it's just and he's come out and apologize.
- 59:55He says, you know, you should never speak to an official, let alone any real.
- 59:58He shouldn't speak to any humans like that.
- 1:00:00So good on him to do that, as you kind of expect him to do.
- 1:00:02I just really thought he was caught up in the emotions.
- 1:00:05And the whole thing with Josh Allen is, you know, the clip that we see, it kind of starts
- 1:00:09really kind of with him saying that.
- 1:00:10So I'm hoping with just who Patrick Mahomes has kind of shown these was like as they were
- 1:00:15walking up, he might have said something like, hey, great game.
- 1:00:18But then led to this.
- 1:00:19I'd imagine so.
- 1:00:20I was.
- 1:00:21Yeah, that clip you already see them pretty much embraced.
- 1:00:23Exactly.
- 1:00:24And then walking away from each other.
- 1:00:25Exactly.
- 1:00:26So you never know because the media is going to try to clip it, make it for what it is.
- 1:00:30No doubt.
- 1:00:31And you know, I mean, like I said, it's is it uncalled for?
- 1:00:35Should he have done it?
- 1:00:36No, but I really can't blame the I'm personally I'm not mad at it.
- 1:00:40Like I love seeing the passion and everything that this game means to him.
- 1:00:45So I it is what it is.
- 1:00:47And this is what he said.
- 1:00:48So that last quote I got was from People magazine.
- 1:00:52Of course, I'm sure Mahomes does seem like the type that would probably interview people.
- 1:00:56I don't know why.
- 1:00:57I'm just saying like I'm no hate, just whatever.
- 1:00:59Anyway, Mahomes also says, quote, But more than anything, I regret that he said this
- 1:01:03today.
- 1:01:04I regret the way I acted towards Josh after the game because he had nothing to do with
- 1:01:08it.
- 1:01:09You're not an emotional, but you can't do that, man.
- 1:01:11It's not a great example for kids watching the game.
- 1:01:13So I was more upset about that than me on me on the sidelines.
- 1:01:17And then blah, blah, blah, blah goes on to say, I care, man.
- 1:01:20I love it.
- 1:01:21I love this game.
- 1:01:22All of my teammates, I want to go out there and put everything on the line to win.
- 1:01:25But obviously can't do that.
- 1:01:26Can't be that way towards officials or really anybody in life.
- 1:01:30So he did.
- 1:01:31He does come out obviously today and say all that, which is more of the Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:01:35Not only does he have to, obviously, but that's more of like you can say that's scripted.
- 1:01:41You can say whatever.
- 1:01:42But like that's who he's shown his character to be his whole NFL career to this point.
- 1:01:46No, absolutely.
- 1:01:47And I mean, I don't think it was necessarily scripted by any means.
- 1:01:49And it's just it is who he's shown to be like, yeah, you're going to have to come out and
- 1:01:53say something.
- 1:01:54But I mean, I'm from the whole kids perspective, like, yeah, I get it.
- 1:01:58But that's only because of the day and age we live in.
- 1:02:00I look at it as a father and like I got a kid that's playing sports and like sees that.
- 1:02:06Like I'm going to I'm going to show that is like that's how passionate this guy is about
- 1:02:09the game he loves and he truly embraces every aspect of it.
- 1:02:12So I I personally can't.
- 1:02:14Yeah, I mean, there's kids out there like, I don't know, man.
- 1:02:17It's like, is a kid going to see that and then go and bitch out an official because
- 1:02:21Patrick Mahomes did it.
- 1:02:22Like, I think that's more of an installment of who your coaches are and who you are as
- 1:02:26a parent to like that's your kid's mindset.
- 1:02:28And if it is, if they're that passionate about something and it's that exact situation or
- 1:02:33a similar situation, like, yeah, I'm going to have that conversation with my kid, but
- 1:02:38I'm not going to like you're not going to get in trouble.
- 1:02:41Right, right.
- 1:02:42And I'm cool with with him coming out and apologizing.
- 1:02:45And again, that makes sense.
- 1:02:46It's everything who he what he stands for and who he is as a person.
- 1:02:50The one thing I don't agree with, no matter what, you can apologize all you want, kind
- 1:02:54of an unwritten rule, no matter what level of football, you don't throw your helmet on
- 1:02:59the fucking ground.
- 1:03:01You know, and he took it and he two handed slammed that son of a B right on the ground.
- 1:03:05And again, I get it.
- 1:03:06Right.
- 1:03:07Like he's saying, it's the emotional, you know, I did that once.
- 1:03:10I never did it again.
- 1:03:11But I did that once because short story, whatever quarterback coach wanted us receivers to go
- 1:03:16out and practice our blocking, run blocking and whatever.
- 1:03:18And I was doing everything he said, according to me.
- 1:03:20Right.
- 1:03:21I was doing everything he wanted me to do.
- 1:03:22And I was still doing it wrong after like 10 times.
- 1:03:24I was like, well, then F and show me and blah, blah, blah and rip my head off through it,
- 1:03:28whatever.
- 1:03:29But it's not something that you do.
- 1:03:30Of course, I was 17 at the time, not however the hell my home is, is 28 or whatever.
- 1:03:35But it's like one of those unwritten rules, you know, and he knows that.
- 1:03:39And again, probably something else he regrets.
- 1:03:41But you just don't throw your helmet, man.
- 1:03:44That goes for anybody out there playing football.
- 1:03:46Don't don't.
- 1:03:47That thing protects you.
- 1:03:48Respect your helmet.
- 1:03:49Yeah, no, I'm 100.
- 1:03:50I can 100 percent get behind that.
- 1:03:52It was similar in baseball for me playing growing up.
- 1:03:54You know, it's like you you get out, whatever you do.
- 1:03:56You don't come back to the dugout, throw your helmet.
- 1:03:58I did it one time pitching when I just fucking was terrible.
- 1:04:01Came in and just came in and threw my glove into my into my bag.
- 1:04:07And my it wasn't even the head coach.
- 1:04:09It was the pitching coach came up to me, yelled at me and then stuck me in the bullpen as
- 1:04:13the catcher for the rest of the game.
- 1:04:15So it was it was like you're going to learn.
- 1:04:17And I and I never even thought about doing it from then because it's again like you have
- 1:04:20to respect like like you have respect in the game.
- 1:04:23It is.
- 1:04:24It's part of respect in the game.
- 1:04:25But at the same time, so is not yelling at officials.
- 1:04:26For sure.
- 1:04:27But at the same time, for sure.
- 1:04:28At the same time, let's go over to baseball.
- 1:04:31How many times the managers get ejected for arguing balls and strikes?
- 1:04:35And it's kind of part of the game.
- 1:04:37You know, it is so different at the end.
- 1:04:39And coaches throughout the whole game are doing everything.
- 1:04:42Their only thing they're doing is bitching at the officials.
- 1:04:44100 percent.
- 1:04:45And so it's already put up with a lot from the coaches.
- 1:04:48And that's a tough job.
- 1:04:49I'm going to tell you firsthand, even at the high school level, the officials put up with
- 1:04:53a lot.
- 1:04:54Yeah.
- 1:04:55And it's it's a tough job.
- 1:04:56And it's so.
- 1:04:59In my opinion, though, you don't call that.
- 1:05:04You just don't call that in that crucial part of the game.
- 1:05:07Was it egregious?
- 1:05:08Absolutely.
- 1:05:09It was.
- 1:05:10But I just don't think you call it.
- 1:05:11No.
- 1:05:12And like I'm 50 50 on it because he's off sides clear as day off sides.
- 1:05:18But usually I feel like offensive off sides, they don't let the play continue.
- 1:05:22Usually it's as soon as the ball snapped.
- 1:05:24I felt like they usually call it.
- 1:05:26No, it's all the time.
- 1:05:27So it's just like defensive off sides.
- 1:05:28You give the free player to make a play.
- 1:05:30Well, I don't know, man.
- 1:05:32I guess it's different rules, obviously, for the NFL.
- 1:05:34But it's just like.
- 1:05:37I just think you have to call it if it's that obvious, if it's that obvious.
- 1:05:40But under two minutes, you hate to see any calls on either team.
- 1:05:44Let them play football.
- 1:05:45If you're going up for a pass and you get decked and you don't even not even sniffing
- 1:05:49the ball.
- 1:05:50Yeah, dude, come on.
- 1:05:51Yeah.
- 1:05:52Like if it's close, I get what you're saying.
- 1:05:54You know, we don't want as fans, we don't want the refs running the games.
- 1:05:58Is it a power trip thing for the refs?
- 1:06:00You've seen it over the history of the NFL.
- 1:06:03There's always those conspiracies that the NFL scripted and blah, blah, blah.
- 1:06:07And you know, the refs are being told this or that and the other thing.
- 1:06:10I think it's more or less.
- 1:06:12Sometimes the refs are like.
- 1:06:15This what was it?
- 1:06:16It was a Monday night game.
- 1:06:17No, a Sunday night game, wasn't it?
- 1:06:18The Chiefs?
- 1:06:19No, it was a Sunday afternoon game.
- 1:06:21Sorry, the Chiefs bills.
- 1:06:22But like this national TV, I'm going to get my time.
- 1:06:26Like.
- 1:06:27Yeah.
- 1:06:28And I think that 100 percent has happened in the past.
- 1:06:31It's just it sucks to see that the worst thing about it is it just it sucks to see that it
- 1:06:36came to that.
- 1:06:37That's what the talk of the game is.
- 1:06:39At the end of the day, that just sucks.
- 1:06:41No, 100 percent.
- 1:06:44Let's get on to this week's slate, sir.
- 1:06:48I did listen last week and I had not really noticed that I didn't even notice that shit
- 1:06:52until just now.
- 1:06:53I read it.
- 1:06:54I was like, oh, shit, he's going to go with the Vikings game first.
- 1:06:58I did listen.
- 1:06:59I honestly just hadn't realized that that has been the case.
- 1:07:01So we're going to start off next week.
- 1:07:03Slate, we have the Vikings traveling down to Cincinnati, taking on the Bengals.
- 1:07:07The home team Bengals are a three and a half point favorite in that game.
- 1:07:12Your team, sir, starts off.
- 1:07:14I don't actually give a shit, but I appreciate this.
- 1:07:17Yes.
- 1:07:18So, yes, the best team in the league.
- 1:07:19We're starting with the Minnesota Vikings traveling to Cincinnati.
- 1:07:22Do it.
- 1:07:23I I really don't think I can take the Vikings here.
- 1:07:27Seriously.
- 1:07:28I think Cincinnati wins by that three and a half.
- 1:07:29I don't want to say that as a fan.
- 1:07:31I'm rooting for my Vikings this weekend, obviously.
- 1:07:34But Jake Browning's hot.
- 1:07:36That defense played well this past weekend, too.
- 1:07:39We talked about Jake Browning and that offense already, but that defense really stepped up
- 1:07:42this weekend as well.
- 1:07:45Now I do think Brian Flores will be bringing the heat as always.
- 1:07:49So that's the matchup for me.
- 1:07:52Jake Browning verse whatever blitz is.
- 1:07:55It's Jake Browning versus Brian Flores this weekend for me for the game.
- 1:07:59Yeah, I'm with you.
- 1:08:00I don't think the Vikings are going to win this game.
- 1:08:02You got Nick Mullins coming in that quarterback.
- 1:08:04I mean, the Vikings did score the same amount of points as the Wild did last Sunday.
- 1:08:07So you never really know what's going to happen.
- 1:08:09Look at you with the wild.
- 1:08:11Hey, but I'm with you.
- 1:08:14I just I think the Bengals are playing way too hot.
- 1:08:16Jake Browning just he's playing out of his mind.
- 1:08:18They have a balanced offense.
- 1:08:19Chase Brown came out last week, but they still got Jamar.
- 1:08:22They still got T Higgins.
- 1:08:23They still got Tyler Boyd.
- 1:08:25Joe Mixon's being his normal self this year.
- 1:08:27So I just think the Bengals are just playing way too hot right now.
- 1:08:30I got the I got the Bengals covering that three and a half.
- 1:08:33That moves us on to the next game.
- 1:08:35The Tampa Bay Buccaneers come up to Lambeau taking on my Packers.
- 1:08:40Even after that, a biz after that poor performance last week, the Packers are favored in this
- 1:08:44one three and a half points to get that game.
- 1:08:46Packers are going to cover that, sir.
- 1:08:48I agree.
- 1:08:50This is a must win game for them after last week.
- 1:08:53I really thought after that touchdown that that was it.
- 1:08:56I thought that defense would honestly lock it down and the Giants wouldn't even get an
- 1:09:00attempt at a field goal.
- 1:09:01I thought it would come down to a Hail Mary, to be honest with you.
- 1:09:04So I don't know.
- 1:09:05I'm a little concerned.
- 1:09:06I'm going to go with the Packers.
- 1:09:07I think that's they should win.
- 1:09:10They have to win.
- 1:09:11What scares me in this game is the Buccaneers have just as much to play for as the Packers
- 1:09:14because they're still in.
- 1:09:16They're still, you know, going at it in that NFC South Division.
- 1:09:22Technically they're leading the division right now, too.
- 1:09:25They are.
- 1:09:26So I think the Packers, they need this one more than anything.
- 1:09:29Going back up to Lambeau.
- 1:09:30The NFC South is tight.
- 1:09:32NFC South is a terrible division.
- 1:09:34That is tight, though.
- 1:09:35Just terrible.
- 1:09:36Tight.
- 1:09:37You got Tampa.
- 1:09:38Every single team has a losing record.
- 1:09:39Oh my God.
- 1:09:40Tight.
- 1:09:41The winner of this division might actually have a losing record on the year.
- 1:09:45You know what's insane?
- 1:09:46They probably will, actually.
- 1:09:47The Saints are six and seven with a 24 plus 24 point differential.
- 1:09:52That's wild to me.
- 1:09:54But nonetheless, so yeah, Packers are going to cover this one.
- 1:09:56They're going to win by more than three and a half.
- 1:09:58But that three and a half kind of scares me.
- 1:10:00I think this is really a field goal game, to be honest with you.
- 1:10:03Yeah, that point five is.
- 1:10:04I would love this if it was three.
- 1:10:05Yeah.
- 1:10:06But I'm still confident in the three and a half.
- 1:10:08Yeah.
- 1:10:09I'm still taking the pack, too.
- 1:10:10Then we have a AFC showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Indianapolis Colts.
- 1:10:17Colts are favored in this one.
- 1:10:18Two and a half points.
- 1:10:19Kenny Pickett's not back yet.
- 1:10:21Did not love what I saw on Mitch Trubisky last week.
- 1:10:23No.
- 1:10:24That defense.
- 1:10:25I thought he'd play much better.
- 1:10:26So did I.
- 1:10:27I thought that would open up the offense a little bit more with him as well.
- 1:10:30And they really didn't seem to do that.
- 1:10:32And it's to me, this game solely is dependent on if Alex Highsmith and T.J.
- 1:10:37Wadder get to go.
- 1:10:38100 percent.
- 1:10:39I was going to say this exact same shit.
- 1:10:41Yeah, I mean, I got to go with the Colts because I mean, considering the Steelers struggling
- 1:10:48against the Patriots last week, that offense is extremely concerning.
- 1:10:52I don't think they.
- 1:10:55Yeah, especially without T.J.
- 1:10:58Wad and Highsmith, they don't have a shot straight up.
- 1:11:00Don't have a shot.
- 1:11:01So they need their they need those guys on defense and then they need their defense to
- 1:11:05almost pitch a shutout.
- 1:11:06So I got to go with the Colts.
- 1:11:08I'm with you on that one.
- 1:11:09I got the Colts in this one, too.
- 1:11:10The Colts really, really, really need this game that, you know, they're part of those
- 1:11:15that that six team tie.
- 1:11:17And it's.
- 1:11:19I just I just.
- 1:11:20And one of those teams is the Steelers.
- 1:11:22I mean, this is this is going to be a matchup right here.
- 1:11:24Yeah, because the Steelers aren't winning the AFC North.
- 1:11:27The Ravens got that kind of unlock, I believe, right now.
- 1:11:29Yeah.
- 1:11:30Even with a healthy Alex Highsmith and T.J.
- 1:11:32Watt.
- 1:11:33Now, granted, a concussion isn't like a like a lingering hamstring injury where it affects
- 1:11:36you week after week.
- 1:11:38It's if you're back, you're back.
- 1:11:40But I don't know.
- 1:11:41I just I can't trust the Steelers offense after what the Patriots did to them last week,
- 1:11:45man.
- 1:11:46So let's move on.
- 1:11:47We got the Cowboys taking on the Bills up in Buffalo.
- 1:11:50The home team is a two and a half point favorite.
- 1:11:52This is our game of the week.
- 1:11:54I'll lead us off here.
- 1:11:55It looks like you're kind of pondering.
- 1:11:57I think the Cowboys are going to go in and actually win this one.
- 1:12:00I think this is a Cowboys win by a touchdown or more.
- 1:12:04They're playing.
- 1:12:05There's their offense is clicking on every level right now.
- 1:12:07Their defense is playing really good.
- 1:12:10Don't tell Stefan Gilmore he's older.
- 1:12:11He's going to come at you and he'll come at you bad.
- 1:12:15Yeah.
- 1:12:16So, Stefan Diggs, learn, learn from A.J.
- 1:12:19Brown.
- 1:12:20But the the Bills are playing good.
- 1:12:23But I think the Cowboys have a better defense than the Chiefs and Josh Allen didn't look
- 1:12:27great last week.
- 1:12:28Cowboys are winning this one by, like I said, seven or more.
- 1:12:30Yeah, I think it's really hard to argue that it really is.
- 1:12:34I'm going to go ahead and make it interesting.
- 1:12:37Let's go.
- 1:12:38Let's go with the Bills.
- 1:12:39You know, going back home, this is a chance for them to they got lucky this past weekend.
- 1:12:45They really did.
- 1:12:46Obviously, we've already touched on that multiple times.
- 1:12:49But this is this is a game where I don't know, maybe it'll be cold.
- 1:12:54Maybe Dallas can't handle that this weekend.
- 1:12:56I don't know.
- 1:12:57But that's what I'm banking on, that there'll be some weather that's going to be kind of
- 1:13:02a crappy game and the Bills could sneak out with it.
- 1:13:06I don't know.
- 1:13:07I think Josh Allen and if it's good weather, I think this is a bounce back game for Josh
- 1:13:10Allen.
- 1:13:11I think it's a hard defense to do it against.
- 1:13:13But if he does.
- 1:13:16Then maybe we do see the Bills in the playoffs, which we did not think was a possibility like
- 1:13:20two weeks ago.
- 1:13:21That's a scary team to see in the playoffs.
- 1:13:22Who?
- 1:13:23The Bills.
- 1:13:24I know.
- 1:13:25Yeah.
- 1:13:26Yeah.
- 1:13:27Once they get there, then who knows?
- 1:13:28All bets are off.
- 1:13:29That's a sneaky team.
- 1:13:30All bets are off.
- 1:13:31So I think we'll make it interesting this week for Game of the Week.
- 1:13:32I think I got to go with Bills at home.
- 1:13:34All right.
- 1:13:35I like the diversity.
- 1:13:36I like the diversity.
- 1:13:37All right.
- 1:13:38Let's round this this laid out here.
- 1:13:39We have the Baltimore Ravens taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 1:13:42All right, three and a half point underdog in this one.
- 1:13:46To be honest with you guys, the slate's not too terribly great this week.
- 1:13:49So we were kind of stuck with two games here that we just had to kind of flip coin on,
- 1:13:53you know.
- 1:13:54But the Ravens are going to win this game by, you know, at least four points.
- 1:13:59I got the Ravens taking this one easily.
- 1:14:01They're playing damn good right now.
- 1:14:03That defense is jumping.
- 1:14:04OBJ seems to be coming kind of back in that old form.
- 1:14:07He's kind of building that connection with Lamar now.
- 1:14:10So I got the Ravens winning this one.
- 1:14:12Yeah, it's hard to argue that.
- 1:14:15I'm probably going Ravens too, especially with do we know if Trevor Lawrence is back
- 1:14:19this week?
- 1:14:20Pretty sure he's playing.
- 1:14:22Yeah.
- 1:14:23Lawrence should be good to go for Wednesday's practice and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:14:27They're at home.
- 1:14:31Jaguars need this game too.
- 1:14:32They do.
- 1:14:33I you know what?
- 1:14:34F it.
- 1:14:35We're going to make this interesting too.
- 1:14:36I think the Jaguars at home.
- 1:14:39Yeah, they're not three.
- 1:14:41They're the Ravens are three and a half point favorites.
- 1:14:44But I think if they have Trevor Lawrence, I think they have a shot.
- 1:14:49And again, it's another team that's playing with some emotion.
- 1:14:52They know how close they are to falling out of the playoffs.
- 1:14:55They know they got to keep winning.
- 1:14:57I think this is obviously a must win game for them.
- 1:15:00We knew it was going to be tight for them coming down the stretch.
- 1:15:03They can't they they really couldn't lose last week and they did.
- 1:15:07So I think they know it's all on the line here.
- 1:15:09So I think Jacksonville may be playing with pressure.
- 1:15:12Pull it off.
- 1:15:13I like it.
- 1:15:14I like it.
- 1:15:15We're going to have a little mix up in the scoreboard and we will.
- 1:15:19Not that this means anything to you guys at this point because you've heard it week after
- 1:15:24week.
- 1:15:25No one cares.
- 1:15:26Smelty and I have no one cares.
- 1:15:27Smelty and I have that's a little inside joke for us.
- 1:15:31But Smelty and I have committed.
- 1:15:32We will get you the standings this week.
- 1:15:34Now, you know, we haven't been too terribly consistent with getting a pot every week.
- 1:15:39We've kind of turned that around.
- 1:15:41So we'll commit to you guys.
- 1:15:42We'll get that done.
- 1:15:43You get to get a pot every week for the rest of the year.
- 1:15:45And then we're going to have some fun in the offseason with the guys as well.
