Transcript
- 0:16Hi Rod. I just am so grateful, first of
- 0:19all, that you were agreeable in removing my interview once I
- 0:24discovered that Pardes is rooted in Kabbalism and also Jewish
- 0:29mysticism. So I want to communicate to your
- 0:32listeners that I do not want to have any form of mixture in my
- 0:37life. It's an area that the Lord has
- 0:39really been challenging me on and I've been teaching on it.
- 0:42And so as you teach on these things, you can't teach on them
- 0:46without also being challenged by the very thing you're teaching.
- 0:50And so I'm so grateful for people in my life to hold me
- 0:53accountable. A dear, dear friend of mine
- 0:56who's one of my intercessors just today alerted me to the
- 1:00fact that Pardes is rooted in, as I mentioned, Kabbalism and
- 1:05Jewish mysticism. So I am covering my tracks
- 1:09because I have such a sober minded awareness of the
- 1:12responsibility of teaching the word of God that there we are
- 1:16held to a higher standard. As James 31 says, my brothers
- 1:21and sisters, not many of you should become teachers because
- 1:25you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
- 1:29Like I said, I'm I'm sober minded about the responsibility
- 1:32of teaching the word of God. So anytime that I find that I
- 1:36have been in error or LED others astray or like this instance for
- 1:42example, I want to bring correction to myself as soon as
- 1:45possible. Because the last thing I want to
- 1:47do is lead anyone down a path that would lead to Kabbalism or
- 1:53false doctrine or anything like that.
- 1:56So with all that said, the heart of what I was trying to
- 2:00communicate in our interview was the beauty of digging deep into
- 2:05the word of God. I mean, there are endless
- 2:07treasures in the word of God and we still are able to do that,
- 2:12just not following Pardes. So the beautiful thing about the
- 2:16Hebrew mindset is that it incorporates dualistic thoughts.
- 2:20So it's about embracing opposite views or opposing ideas with a
- 2:24both and rather than an either or conclusion.
- 2:28So for example, you know scriptures that say Jesus is
- 2:31both the Lamb of God and the lion of the tribe of Judah.
- 2:35Also hell is described as the blackest darkness and a fiery
- 2:39lake. So with the Hebrew mindset, what
- 2:42it does is it recognizes that there are mysteries of God that
- 2:45are not meant to be understood. So the Hebrews, you know,
- 2:48they're able to hold this tension between biblical
- 2:51concepts without the consternation that comes from a
- 2:54Greek mindset. And I'll just read to you a
- 2:56quote from Marvin Wilson in his book Our Father Abraham.
- 3:01It says all things, therefore do not need to be fully rational.
- 3:06The Hebrew mind was willing to accept the truth taught on both
- 3:09sides of the paradox. It recognized that mystery and
- 3:13apparent contradictions are often signs of the divine.
- 3:16Stated succinctly, the Hebrews knew the wisdom of learning to
- 3:20trust in matters that they could not fully understand, and I love
- 3:24that about having a Hebrew mindset towards the Bible.
- 3:28But also, you know, one of the beautiful things is, you know,
- 3:32we can look at Scripture and read it just as the plain text
- 3:36suggests, but then you can start digging deeper and find where
- 3:40references itself in, gosh, innumerable places.
- 3:46And that's the fun of digging, is going to those other
- 3:50locations in Scripture that will give a more full meaning to the
- 3:55biblical passage that you're reading.
- 3:57And so we can definitely still do that.
- 3:59There are hidden truths within Scripture.
- 4:02We know that, you know, Proverbs 25 Two says it is the glory of
- 4:07God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory
- 4:11of kings. So I just want to encourage your
- 4:13listeners to have fun digging deep into the Bible.
- 4:18And, you know, there are all sorts of ways to do that by
- 4:23pouring into concordances, lexicons, commentaries, being
- 4:30directed by the Holy Spirit. I just will no longer be
- 4:34teaching about Pardes now, understanding that it's rooted
- 4:39in things that I do not agree with.
- 4:41So thank you all for listening and understanding.
- 4:45And I I really appreciate you, Rod.
- 4:47And more than that, I appreciate the people in my life that hold
- 4:51me accountable because I do not want to lead others astray.
- 4:56Thanks for listening, everyone. Take care.
