- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06Speaker 1: where he left off with the CNN article talking about
- 0:10Speaker 1: Rosa and her abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein
- 0:13Speaker 1: once again. This article was authored by MJ. Lee and
- 0:17Speaker 1: Nicki robertson the accounts from Gillis and other survivors who
- 0:22Speaker 1: say they were abused by Epstein while he was serving
- 0:25Speaker 1: his thirteen month sentence raised his serious questions about the
- 0:28Speaker 1: controversial two thousand and eight plea deal that Epstein struck
- 0:32Speaker 1: with the former US attorney Alex Acosta. Okay, here we go.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Alex Acosta was a middleman, Okay, nothing more than a
- 0:41Speaker 1: manager at McDonald's. Oh sure, he makes decisions for his department,
- 0:45Speaker 1: but he ain't making decisions for the DOJ. In fact,
- 0:49Speaker 1: Epstein's team went over Acosta his head directly to Mukasey
- 0:53Speaker 1: and Philippe, and people still don't want to talk about
- 0:57Speaker 1: that part of it, But eventually they'll catch up. Might
- 0:59Speaker 1: take another five years, but eventually they're going to catch
- 1:02Speaker 1: up and realize that it was an Acosta. The reason
- 1:05Speaker 1: Acosta gets brought up so much is because they want
- 1:07Speaker 1: to slam at home, oh Acosta, Trump's guy. Well, sure,
- 1:11Speaker 1: a cost is a scumbag. A cost has no spine,
- 1:14Speaker 1: But a Costa didn't make the deal, and we have
- 1:17Speaker 1: to be honest about it. This man has no kind
- 1:21Speaker 1: of courage whatsoever, and he's reprehensible and he had no
- 1:25Speaker 1: business being part of the US government as far as
- 1:28Speaker 1: a cabinet position. But is he the one who gave
- 1:32Speaker 1: the final low k for the Jeffrey Epstein non prosecution agreement.
- 1:35Speaker 1: He most certainly is not. Epstein began working full time
- 1:42Speaker 1: as president of the Florida Science Foundation in October of
- 1:45Speaker 1: two thousand and eight. According to a twenty twenty one
- 1:48Speaker 1: review of Epstein's work release program conducted by Florida officials,
- 1:52Speaker 1: for the first six months, Epstein was allowed to be
- 1:55Speaker 1: at the foundation's office from ten am to ten pm
- 1:58Speaker 1: Monday through Saturday. In May two thousand and nine, those
- 2:02Speaker 1: hours were extended, requiring Epstein to be physically in jail
- 2:06Speaker 1: for only eight hours a day. By the following month,
- 2:09Speaker 1: Epstein's work release program again expanded, letting them work seven
- 2:13Speaker 1: days a week at the foundation. Must be nice when
- 2:17Speaker 1: my loved one was in prison for seven years for
- 2:21Speaker 1: illegal sports gambling, which is legal now. By the way,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I promise you they weren't getting any kind of benefits,
- 2:29Speaker 1: They weren't getting any kind of special treatment, and they
- 2:32Speaker 1: certainly weren't being let out to go on roam around
- 2:35Speaker 1: the city all day. But when you're Jeffrey Epstein and
- 2:39Speaker 1: you have that kind of power, those kinds of connections,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and you're an asset of the United States government, well
- 2:46Speaker 1: the rules are different for you. Please tell me again
- 2:49Speaker 1: how this guy was just a lone predator with no connections,
- 2:52Speaker 1: with no power, and then I'll tell you that you're
- 2:54Speaker 1: a liar. The last two weeks before Epstein was released
- 2:58Speaker 1: under house arrest finance, here was also permitted to visit
- 3:02Speaker 1: his West Palm Beach mansion for two hour window in
- 3:05Speaker 1: the afternoon. Let me go home and get a sandwich.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Like what, no sit in jail, roten jail at least
- 3:12Speaker 1: for the year. But no, he didn't even get that.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So all the people out there that act like this
- 3:17Speaker 1: is all finalized, like everything's been decided, like everything's been investigated,
- 3:23Speaker 1: You're wrong. And I'll say that with confidence. And that's
- 3:26Speaker 1: because that's where the evidence leads us. His work release
- 3:31Speaker 1: program had many conditions, including the stipulation that he could
- 3:34Speaker 1: only meet with business associates and a requirement to wear
- 3:38Speaker 1: an ankle monitor. Until July of two thousand and nine,
- 3:41Speaker 1: Epstein was not allowed to have contact with family members, friends, girlfriends,
- 3:45Speaker 1: or miners. But he did, and that's why he was
- 3:49Speaker 1: in violation of the NPA. I feel like a record
- 3:53Speaker 1: on repeat at this point between this and Rico. I mean,
- 3:58Speaker 1: it's obvious what should have happened, and it's obvious the
- 4:01Speaker 1: fix is in. And for all the people that want
- 4:03Speaker 1: to yell about cover ups, when it comes to Tyler Robinson, buddy,
- 4:07Speaker 1: you want to cover up, this is it. This is
- 4:10Speaker 1: the art of the cover up. And not only is
- 4:12Speaker 1: this a cover up, it's brazen and right in your face.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And now that it's been exposed, they've just doubled down.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Epstein's lawyers and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office also
- 4:24Speaker 1: struck an agreement that Epstein would hire off duty deputies
- 4:27Speaker 1: also known as permit deputies, to be present at his
- 4:31Speaker 1: office to document any visitors. Epstein's attorney, on behalf of
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Florida Science Foundation, paid the Sheriff's office the total
- 4:38Speaker 1: of one hundred and twenty eight thousand, one hundred and
- 4:40Speaker 1: thirty six dollars for those deputies during Epstein's work release,
- 4:45Speaker 1: according to Florida Department of Law Enforcement report. The report
- 4:49Speaker 1: also said that four hundred and ninety four visitor logs
- 4:52Speaker 1: were reviewed by PbSO and no violations of unauthorized contact
- 4:56Speaker 1: were found, and that the records were later destroyed per policy.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, let's destroy the records. Are you guys paying
- 5:03Speaker 1: attention yet? They destroyed the records because they know they
- 5:08Speaker 1: were given Epstein favorable treatment. Somebody was getting their palm greased.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Somebody had a good Christmas. Let's put it out. Let's
- 5:14Speaker 1: put it like that. Okay, somebody had a great Christmas
- 5:16Speaker 1: that year, which one of these guards ended up with
- 5:19Speaker 1: a new car, went on some trips. Oh, we don't
- 5:23Speaker 1: want to talk about that part, right. Well, guess what
- 5:26Speaker 1: we're going to because the institutional corruption surrounding Jeffrey Epstein
- 5:31Speaker 1: is a gigantic part of the story, and until that's exposed,
- 5:36Speaker 1: we can just expect the next Epstein to pop up
- 5:38Speaker 1: at any moment, and then what we're going to start
- 5:40Speaker 1: the clock all over again. Oh, we didn't know we
- 5:42Speaker 1: had no idea. How could this happen? Well, it could
- 5:45Speaker 1: happen and did happen because people you voted for, people
- 5:49Speaker 1: you elected, they don't give a fuck. In twenty nineteen,
- 5:54Speaker 1: less than a week after new charges against Epstein were unsealed,
- 5:57Speaker 1: a Costa stepped down from his position as Labor Secretary
- 6:01Speaker 1: in the first Trump administration. A twenty twenty Justice Department
- 6:05Speaker 1: review of the two thousand and eight deal that a
- 6:08Speaker 1: Costa negotiated concluded that he had exercise poor judgment, including
- 6:12Speaker 1: in his failure to notify the girls and young women
- 6:15Speaker 1: who alleged they were sexually abused by Epstein, about the
- 6:18Speaker 1: decision to not prosecute him on federal charges. But the
- 6:22Speaker 1: review did not find that Acosta or other prosecutors engaged
- 6:26Speaker 1: in a professional misconduct. And that's because the OIG report
- 6:29Speaker 1: was a whitewash. It was meant to put this to bed,
- 6:33Speaker 1: to tell you to move on, to tell you enough
- 6:35Speaker 1: is enough. And when it came out, I told you
- 6:37Speaker 1: that's what it was. Don't buy it, don't fall for it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And I'm happy to say that a lot of you didn't.
- 6:44Speaker 1: A lot of you understand exactly what we're dealing with.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And you know that you're being lied to. And I
- 6:51Speaker 1: think that's the most galling part. Even when these people
- 6:53Speaker 1: are exposed, they continue to double down and act like
- 6:56Speaker 1: it never happened, and act like this is all just
- 6:58Speaker 1: a big conspiracy theory. In December of twenty nineteen, four
- 7:03Speaker 1: months after Epstein's suicide in a New York City prison,
- 7:06Speaker 1: the PbSO ended its work release program. The fdl's twenty
- 7:11Speaker 1: twenty one report said that it found no criminal activity
- 7:14Speaker 1: was determined on the part of any PbSO member with
- 7:17Speaker 1: their respect to their participation in Epstein's PbSO work release
- 7:22Speaker 1: or permit detail programs. Of course not. There's never been
- 7:25Speaker 1: accountability for anybody, whether it's government official or epstein co conspirator.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And I had to say it, but it's all by design.
- 7:35Speaker 1: The Pombach County Sheriff's office did not respond to CNN's
- 7:39Speaker 1: request for comment for this story. They need to respond,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and the pressure needs to be turned up on Pombach
- 7:46Speaker 1: County and the officials that were responsible for all of this.
- 7:51Speaker 1: The conditions of Epstein's work release program made young foreign
- 7:54Speaker 1: models like Gillis the perfect target. After his conviction, Gillis
- 7:59Speaker 1: said that she was approached by French modeling agent Jean
- 8:02Speaker 1: Luke Brunell in two thousand and eight when she was
- 8:04Speaker 1: backstage at a fashion show and use pekistan, Well, didn't
- 8:09Speaker 1: I tell you that Jean Luke Brunell and Jeffrey Epstein
- 8:11Speaker 1: at the very least were trafficking women back and forth?
- 8:14Speaker 1: And then you have people like Cash Betel and all
- 8:17Speaker 1: the Sarah Gates out there that say that Jeffrey Epstein
- 8:19Speaker 1: wasn't trafficking women. He most certainly was. Now, maybe not
- 8:23Speaker 1: to the extent that some people say, but to think
- 8:27Speaker 1: that Epstein wasn't serving up women to certain people, you
- 8:31Speaker 1: are fucking stupid. Okay, I don't know how else to
- 8:34Speaker 1: say it. Brunell introduced himself as the owner of the
- 8:37Speaker 1: agency MC squared Model Management in New York City and
- 8:40Speaker 1: offered her a contract on the spot. Gillis would later
- 8:43Speaker 1: learn that Epstein was a significant financial backer of the company,
- 8:48Speaker 1: one thousand percent. He was, and the whole entire point
- 8:51Speaker 1: was to have a pipeline of girls that he could
- 8:53Speaker 1: pick from, girls fed directly to the townhouse girls to
- 8:57Speaker 1: go live with them for a week at a time,
- 8:59Speaker 1: that he could abuse. And then when that weak's up
- 9:01Speaker 1: bring in the next group of girls, but sure there
- 9:04Speaker 1: was no trafficking going on. The contract that she signed
- 9:08Speaker 1: with mc squared, as Gillis describes it, gave the agency
- 9:11Speaker 1: control over every aspect of her life. She immediately owed
- 9:16Speaker 1: them four thousand dollars for her visa and fifteen hundred
- 9:19Speaker 1: in rent each month for the overcrowded models apartment in Manhattan,
- 9:23Speaker 1: where a multiple girls slept on bump beds. Her debt
- 9:26Speaker 1: ballooned to a sum her parents back home wouldn't have
- 9:30Speaker 1: dreamed of making in one year. Several months after her move,
- 9:34Speaker 1: Gillis said, she started crying at the mc squared Miami
- 9:37Speaker 1: office in front of Brunel. Her family back home depended
- 9:41Speaker 1: on her modeling income, and by this point she was
- 9:44Speaker 1: around ten gs in debt and failing to land modeling jobs.
- 9:48Speaker 1: She had already raised the idea of going back to Asia,
- 9:51Speaker 1: where she had a successful modeling stint, but mc squared
- 9:54Speaker 1: had her rebuff the suggestion. Jean lu Brunel sits there,
- 9:58Speaker 1: looks at me, goes, I see that you're very He's said,
- 10:00Speaker 1: give me one second, Gillis said, picks up the phone,
- 10:03Speaker 1: call someone and then hangs up the phone and goes,
- 10:06Speaker 1: I took care of it. I just sent six hundred
- 10:08Speaker 1: dollars to your parents. Oh big baller, huh, A whole
- 10:12Speaker 1: six hundred bucks piece of Shit's comeback to her shock
- 10:17Speaker 1: Within minutes, somebody had, in fact dropped off six hundred
- 10:20Speaker 1: dollars and used Bekistan to her family. I thought to myself,
- 10:24Speaker 1: what just happened, Gilis said, I don't know who he called.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Did he call a friend that is American that happens
- 10:30Speaker 1: to be there, or did he call somebody from the
- 10:32Speaker 1: government and they dropped it off? Good question, very good question.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Who dropped the money off and why? Unfortunately Brunell's bitch
- 10:41Speaker 1: ass is dead, so we'll probably never know. The message
- 10:46Speaker 1: was unmistakable. She was at the mercy of the agency
- 10:50Speaker 1: and that included Epstein. Brunell was found dead in his
- 10:53Speaker 1: prison cell in twenty twenty two after he was arrested
- 10:56Speaker 1: on charges of rate and sexual assault. Gillis was instructed
- 11:01Speaker 1: to go to West Palm Beach in the summer of
- 11:03Speaker 1: two thousand and nine for a photoshoot. The giant White
- 11:06Speaker 1: mansion where the shoe took place belonged to Epstein, and
- 11:09Speaker 1: after her first brief encounter with them, Gillis's permanent move
- 11:13Speaker 1: to Miami was quickly set in motion. Epstein's offer for
- 11:17Speaker 1: Gillis to model during the week but work on the
- 11:19Speaker 1: weekends at the Florida Science Foundation made little sense to her.
- 11:23Speaker 1: For modeling, I need to go to auditions, build my portfolio,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and do all these different things. But you're offering me
- 11:29Speaker 1: an office job, and I don't see how that's going
- 11:31Speaker 1: to help my modeling career. She said. I'm all alone,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm broke, and this person tells me that in order
- 11:37Speaker 1: to do my job, I have to take another one.
- 11:41Speaker 1: After Epstein first assaulted her at the Science Foundation, Gillis
- 11:44Speaker 1: says she was molested and raped every weekend in Palm Beach.
- 11:48Speaker 1: The nightmare continued once she was allowed to return back
- 11:51Speaker 1: to New York City in twenty ten, after Epstein's house
- 11:54Speaker 1: arrest in Florida ended. And on and on it went.
- 11:58Speaker 1: When it comes to the abuse that Eppstein was engaging in,
- 12:02Speaker 1: it just never stopped, and in some cases it was
- 12:05Speaker 1: a cycle that lasted literally a decade or more. The
- 12:09Speaker 1: Epstein files that the Justice Department released earlier this year
- 12:12Speaker 1: are littered with emails from modeling scouts to the convicted
- 12:15Speaker 1: sex offender, offering up models from around the world. Two
- 12:19Speaker 1: women file complaints in twenty nineteen alleging that Epstein had
- 12:23Speaker 1: sexually abuse him during his work release program. One of
- 12:26Speaker 1: the anonymous women, identified as Catlin Dough, said that she
- 12:31Speaker 1: was made to engage in sexual encounters with Epstein at
- 12:34Speaker 1: the foundation office. While in Jeffrey Epstein's office at the
- 12:37Speaker 1: Florida Science Foundation, plaintiff was made to engage in sexual
- 12:41Speaker 1: encounters with Jeffrey Epstein, both alone with Epstein, during which
- 12:45Speaker 1: he engaged in sexual intercourse, and also on one occasion
- 12:49Speaker 1: with another young female and Epstein, the complaint said. Gillis
- 12:55Speaker 1: said that she's certain she's been in the presence of
- 12:57Speaker 1: some of Epstein's other victims, calls walking through his Florida
- 13:01Speaker 1: mansion and encountering girls who spoke little or no English.
- 13:05Speaker 1: There were immigrants, there were people who had an accent,
- 13:08Speaker 1: the people who spoke Russian. She said, same thing was
- 13:11Speaker 1: happening to them, and it was widespread. And when I
- 13:15Speaker 1: talk about the girls who know names, these are the
- 13:17Speaker 1: women that I'm talking about. How many of them are there?
- 13:24Speaker 1: It was only after Gillis's modeling career took off in
- 13:26Speaker 1: New York some years later, and she gained financial independence
- 13:30Speaker 1: that she was finally able to leave Epstein's world. She
- 13:33Speaker 1: relocated to the Midwest, and, after meeting her husband Pat,
- 13:37Speaker 1: found a new calling as a fitness coach and trainer.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Gillis had kept her dark past secret from almost everyone
- 13:43Speaker 1: in her life, including her parents, until recently. Despite promises
- 13:48Speaker 1: from the Justice Department to protect survivors. Gillis was stunned
- 13:51Speaker 1: to see her name and years of correspondence between herself
- 13:54Speaker 1: and Epstein had been published for the world to see
- 13:57Speaker 1: when the Epstein Files were released early this year. It
- 14:01Speaker 1: was my story to tell. It wasn't something I wish
- 14:04Speaker 1: anybody read, she said. Look, I feel that a lot
- 14:08Speaker 1: of people I've told you this, they don't want to
- 14:10Speaker 1: come forward. They've moved on, they've compartmentalized whatever you want
- 14:14Speaker 1: to call it, and they don't want to reopen the wound.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And I think we have to respect that. You can't
- 14:20Speaker 1: force somebody to come forward. You can't force somebody to
- 14:23Speaker 1: have to navigate the minefield that comes with it. Gillis
- 14:28Speaker 1: said she'd been watching Epstein's survivors over the past year
- 14:31Speaker 1: publicly advocate for the release of the Epstein files and
- 14:34Speaker 1: for the Justice Department to investigate Epstein's co conspirators. While
- 14:40Speaker 1: she's been invited to join them in their public advocacy work,
- 14:43Speaker 1: Gillis says she's not quite ready. When a group of
- 14:46Speaker 1: survivors gathered on the steps the Capitol Hill last year,
- 14:49Speaker 1: Gillis chose to fly to DC to join them, but
- 14:52Speaker 1: could only watch from the sidelines. They were telling their
- 14:55Speaker 1: stories and that started destroying me on the inside. She said.
- 14:59Speaker 1: It was so wrong for the government not to protect them.
- 15:02Speaker 1: But Gillis says as she continues to work through her
- 15:04Speaker 1: own trauma, she's beginning to imagine a future when she's
- 15:07Speaker 1: able to be with the other survivors. I can see
- 15:11Speaker 1: myself at some point gathering together with them, she said.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm extremely proud of what each one of them are doing,
- 15:16Speaker 1: and I see the pain is very contagious. Courage is contagious, right, well,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I think it is, and I think that the more
- 15:24Speaker 1: women that come forward, the more comfortable other people will
- 15:28Speaker 1: be to tell their story. But I think that the
- 15:31Speaker 1: major takeaway from Rosa sharing the story with us is
- 15:35Speaker 1: the fact that she was being abused while Epstein was
- 15:37Speaker 1: supposed to be in custody. And if that doesn't lead
- 15:40Speaker 1: to the NPA getting trash Bend, I don't think anything will.
- 15:44Speaker 1: So let's see if Congress picks up on this, and
- 15:46Speaker 1: let's see if they start demanding some more answers and
- 15:49Speaker 1: some more transparency when it comes to the NPA. All
- 15:54Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
- 15:57Speaker 1: in the description box.
