Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Miami has a dolphin, the greatest football team.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We take the ball from go to go like no one's ever seen.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We're in the air, we're on the ground, we're always in control and when you say Miami, you're talking super cool, miami Dolphins, miami Dolphins.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Miami, dolphins number one.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Miami Dolphins, miami Dolphins, miami, dolphins number one Woo.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I got my kids singing it.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Okay, I got Kenny to sing it all the time too.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Great, it's awesome.
- 0:43Speaker 3: We're going to talk to Dolphins Eagles in a sec, but we got our Miami contributor on to look ahead to some big games in Miami.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Miami's hosting Clemson Tigers kind of off of the radar game with a couple of headliners.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Both teams have two losses in the conference.
- 1:04Speaker 3: This is lose your out knockout punch.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So what are you looking forward to in this game?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Looking forward to, or not really looking forward to much, man I mean.
- 1:19Speaker 3: But what I can say about this game is what's going to come through your head when kicked about, when kick's going to start, and you feel that feeling.
- 1:29Speaker 3: What do you want to see?
- 1:31Speaker 2: Oh, I'm still going to be excited because I'm pathetic, but this game makes or breaks Miami season.
- 1:39Speaker 2: A loss here, and we don't make a bowl game Because, if you look down the schedule more, we've still got after this.
- 1:51Speaker 2: We got NC State, we got FSU, we got Louisville and then we got Virginia.
- 1:55Speaker 2: So we only got one win left on the schedule.
- 1:58Speaker 2: If we lose Saturday night Now, my hope is that a win will galvanize the team and help us turn the season around and maybe get an eight-win season, which would be possible if we can get this win against Clemson.
- 2:15Speaker 2: No, no.
- 2:17Speaker 3: I don't say it.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, you know me, I have not been big on Clemson all year.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I haven't either, but I think I'm thinking about this game in particular before the season, and I just was saying that you have a lot of Florida kids that play on Clemson.
- 2:34Speaker 3: He recruits the area.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Well, they're going to show out at home.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I think Clemson will bring it and it's going to be a tough matchup for Miami, especially Tyler Van Dyke.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I think is really going to determine.
- 2:51Speaker 2: This game will be determined at the line of scrimmage, if TVD can get time to throw.
- 2:57Speaker 2: The Clemson defense, especially the secondary, has not looked good this season.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Their secondary is.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I would argue that I would say their secondary is the strength of their defense.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I mean, it's going to be one of the best that TVD will face and if we'll see if they can give him some time where they can get to those weapons that he has, they can score.
- 3:19Speaker 3: But, like you saw, if he can turn the ball over and it's all over, like if he doesn't turn the ball over, Miami can put up points with anyone.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, and that's the thing that gets back to my biggest complaint all year the turnovers.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I blame the coaches because there's there's no excuse.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Like we know, tvd's talented.
- 3:40Speaker 2: He's had all kinds of time to throw the ball all season because that offensive line has not disappointed.
- 3:46Speaker 2: That's one thing I called out on the first game of the season was the O line looks great and the O line is great.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Unfortunately, we've got the turnover problem, we've got the coaching issues, which is my biggest thing.
- 3:58Speaker 2: But on the flip side of that, cade Club Nick is going to get beaten into the ground by our pass rush.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Okay, and they have, and you have to stop one tree hill to what we Jimmy likes to call him.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Who's actually?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, that is.
- 4:17Speaker 3: he does it all and he's a tough son of a gun and you can stop him, but that's who you have to stop.
- 4:22Speaker 3: If you're going to, you have to stop him first.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And Miami has not been that successful against the run most for the most part this year.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They're coming off a buy.
- 4:31Speaker 3: So they're going to try to run Shipley.
- 4:34Speaker 3: That's where you're going to want to.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Miami's going to need to shut him down.
- 4:38Speaker 3: That's the head of their that's the head of their offense this year.
- 4:41Speaker 3: That's the captain of the ship.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, if I had a nice little pun there, buddy Shipley is the ship lead for Clemson.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You got it.
- 4:51Speaker 3: That'll be it, folks.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I'm out.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Don't forget to tip your waitress.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's.
- 4:58Speaker 2: If I'm Clemson Shipley's touching the ball 40 times, I'm running it to him, I'm throwing screen passes.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I'm going to try and take advantage of the over aggressive Miami defensive line and get the get the Clemson O linemen running out there in the secondary trying to pick up blocks for Shipley to make plays on in the screen game and the little swing pass game.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I think that's their best.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Their best recipe for success against Miami is take advantage of our over aggressive pass rush.
- 5:29Speaker 3: You like that tonight game though, too Right, I think that's the best chance you have.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Hopefully you get an atmosphere there.
- 5:36Speaker 2: The best chance we have for any atmosphere is the fact that the dolphins are going to be in Philly Sunday.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:42Speaker 3: So, that's a huge game.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Huge game, big man, don't have a choice is.
- 5:49Speaker 2: What's good for us is the fans.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Don't have a choice between am I going to go to the Cane's game Saturday or the Dolphins game on Sunday.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Only an idiot would choose the Canes at this point for that game.
- 6:00Speaker 3: If you're going to one game this weekend in Miami you're going to be going to the only show in town this weekend and what?
- 6:07Speaker 3: Do you have a score prediction for this game?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Um, yeah, let's go.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I would say, I'll be.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I'm still gonna be rocking my orange and green sunglasses and I say Keynes, win 31, 27.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Tv D throws for 400.
- 6:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Well, you mentioned the big game in a Philly Sunday night and it's gonna be a huge game.
- 6:31Speaker 3: It's the lot of people Super Bowl matchups, especially right here on this show, but you could say, you know, with the top dog in the AFC against the top dog in the NFC, arguably on both fronts, but it's they're right up there and you have great matchups all over the board, in particular the quarterback position.
- 6:52Speaker 3: It is the battle of Tua versus Jalen, and Just comes to mind that national championship game where Tua got the nod in the second half and came back and won it.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And what I remembered most about that was just what Jalen how he handled himself.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Oh, anybody that has really anything negative to say about Jalen hurts is just a hater At this point.
- 7:21Speaker 2: As far as character goes, he's an amazing dude, like he really, and same with Tua, and these guys are like best friends in real life Like these two are tight.
- 7:30Speaker 2: It's a great story it really is because you had you had hurts get benched in the national championship game.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Tua leads into the title right and then takes the starting job.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Hurts doesn't transfer, immediately Hangs out.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Then Tua gets hurt in the SEC championship game.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Hurts comes in and leads them to the win.
- 7:49Speaker 2: In that I mean, the storyline is just amazing with these two and they've stayed friends like really close friends Throughout now their NFL careers.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Both of them have been wildly successful in the NFL.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Right, it's, it's an awesome, awesome story.
- 8:04Speaker 2: But you know we're not chicks, so let's let's break down what the game is actually gonna look like here.
- 8:09Speaker 2: You know that's something that my wife would like and I get hurt watch.
- 8:15Speaker 2: The game is the storyline of the friendship between the two guys on the opposite team that went to college.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Hey, yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Well, at least I can admit it, I'm intrigued by it too, man.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Oh, dude, so my man, I mean.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I'm intrigued by all of it and in particular, like what?
- 8:32Speaker 3: What can this dolphin defense running game wise do on the road, because it's a different unit when they're away from Miami?
- 8:44Speaker 2: And they're going up against the best offensive line in the NFL.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Mm-hmm one thing I did hear this morning on, like Dan Patrick or you know one of the people that wish they were on the North Florida Sports Network shows.
- 8:57Speaker 2: They were saying Lane Johnson has got a sprained ankle.
- 9:02Speaker 2: That they didn't think he was gonna play.
- 9:06Speaker 2: But I mean, we all know, we all know Lane Johnson, he's a man's man.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah and and he's wanting to play, which I kind of hoping does, because You're gonna have I'm pretty sure Jalen Phillips is back now for the Dolphins I would put Bradley Chubb on the left and I put Jalen Phillips on the right and have Jalen Phillips go after a hobbled up Lane Johnson and the bigger what I think the actual, the bigger issue is that's negative for Miami is it looks like Jalen Carter is Going to be healthy to play this week.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I and Jaylen Carter.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Structure of offenses.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Oh, dude remember when we were doing draft preview I told you Carter was the best player on the track.
- 9:54Speaker 3: He was and he dropped a filly and then yeah, that's gonna be the key to the game.
- 9:59Speaker 3: It's gonna be.
- 10:01Speaker 3: You know well, can Miami slow down the running game and Can they keep to a up right and get to be able to get it to the speed?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the biggest thing not not necessarily keeping to a upright, because Because he gets rid of the ball in like point six seconds, right the biggest thing is gonna be whether we're able to establish the run the way we have for the past.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Month, basically with a chain out or a Chan has he likes to be called a Chan is out for the next couple of weeks.
- 10:33Speaker 3: That is big Um yeah, so you're.
- 10:36Speaker 2: You're looking at most dirt and and for fantasy football.
- 10:40Speaker 2: People out there listening, go pick up Jeff Wilson Jr, because he just came off a IR and he's taking the H&N role and Jeff Wilson has been running in this system with Mike McDaniels in San Francisco a handful of years ago.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Okay so him and most are.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Both are familiar with the system.
- 10:57Speaker 2: They're both really good running backs.
- 10:59Speaker 2: If Miami is going to win this game, it's going to be by getting pressure on Jaylen Hertz, because I don't think we're gonna be able to stop that run.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And so our biggest thing is it's kind of like you know, like Mike Tyson, if you're fighting Mike Tyson back in the day, you know you can't take the uppercut, so you just let it that go.
- 11:21Speaker 2: You know you can't get in there with him, like we can't, so we're not gonna be able to stop the Andre swift in them.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Guys.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Like we're just not.
- 11:27Speaker 2: We got a main team, we got a container.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Keep them at it like 150 yards on the ground and then we've just got to pressure.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Defense yeah, red zone defense, we got it.
- 11:39Speaker 2: We got a Almost the old Al golden style defense.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Let him run, run, run, run and then just pinch down in the red zone and I hope they don't punch it in.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And we got to get Hertz to turn the ball over like he did against the Jets.
- 11:51Speaker 2: We've got to get, we got to get pressure on him in the pocket, because the way this season's gone so far from Hertz if, if, if he's in the pocket, he tends to struggle a little bit.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And even though our secondaries played terrible this year for the most part I mean, you know, numbers might not show it, but I've not been impressed with our secondary Zavian Howard has not played that great.
- 12:15Speaker 2: We still haven't gotten Ramsay bad.
- 12:17Speaker 3: No, just got to keep it afloat till you get Ramsay and hopefully that you know Brings the juice that they need.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That breaks all the pressure off everyone oh.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yeah for sure.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I mean, if Zavian Howard's your number two quarter, you're pretty damn good shape, but he doesn't seem to have it as the number one guy anymore.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I, you know, like this ain't X of five years ago.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Five years ago he was the top three corner, now he's top 12, which is still really really good.
- 12:48Speaker 2: If that guy's your number two corner and it looks like I actually had heard something out of Miami the other day that Ramsey might be back before the week 10 buy, if and now.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Honestly, if it was me, if I'm making the decision and he was wanting to play in week nine and we got the week 10, buy, I'm gonna go ahead and tell him no, you're not playing and give him two extra weeks so he comes back 100% healthy.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I don't want him coming back on a kidney.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Yeah, and then re-injuring it Definitely you need him back for the stretch run.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, you know, a week nine win, against whoever we're playing, is not as important as a healthy Jalen Ramsey going down the last six weeks of the season.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Well, this is gonna be a huge game Sunday night.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I will be tuned in.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Can't wait to watch this one.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Oh, I'm so excited, yeah, I'm so excited.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I need you to watch.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I don't like that the Miami Clemson games at the same time as the Duke Florida State game.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 13:56Speaker 2: That pisses me off.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd like to watch both of them.
- 13:59Speaker 2: He's on my setup.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go, you'll have that setup.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I got the two TVs going.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I think I might try to go to this one under the lights, but it's gonna be.
- 14:10Speaker 3: It's gonna be a fun weekend, Big game down in big game down in Coral Gables between the hurricanes and the Tigers.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Miami needs it.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Break the break the boat.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Miami needs it, man, so does Clemson, I guess you know.
- 14:29Speaker 2: They don't need as bad as we do, man.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Right, right it's gonna.
- 14:33Speaker 3: We'll see what kind of effort.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I think Miami brings the effort, but will they be able to bring the composure?
- 14:40Speaker 3: Will they be able to clean it up with the penalties and the turnovers?
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, will we be able to make some half time Jimbo fish or half time adjustments, Because we came out we came out in the North.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Carolina getting ready to roll.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Man, we looked like the better team and then we came out of the half and we were completely out coached.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll find out.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to that matchup and a whole bunch of other matchups.
- 15:06Speaker 3: We'll be watching them, we'll be, we'll do a reaction to them.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Let's stay safe out there and enjoy all of the football action.
