- 0:00Speaker 1: iHeart Podcasts bring you the ultimate Summer of Love Tree.
- 0:04Speaker 1: This is Famously Available. Welcome back to Famously Available. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: your host, Ben Higgins, and I'm really excited about this
- 0:12Speaker 1: episode because we've been getting to know our famously Available women,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and let me tell you, they are awesome. We got
- 0:20Speaker 1: Dianna and Mercedes. We've been catching up with them for
- 0:24Speaker 1: what seems like months now. Uh and today I'm sending
- 0:28Speaker 1: Dianna on a date in the real world and she's
- 0:32Speaker 1: here with me. She's looking beautiful, looking, flirty.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Am I.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I thought you were going to keep going. That's why
- 0:41Speaker 3: I paused. I was waiting for the multitude compliment.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Memorous, looking, spunky, all these things.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Okay, Spunky. I don't know if I hope this date
- 0:52Speaker 3: thinks I'm spunky, Ben.
- 0:54Speaker 4: I think Spunky's a good thing.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Spunky. Okay, all right, so.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 0:59Speaker 1: This is a lot of fun for me. We've sent
- 1:01Speaker 1: you to San Francisco is where you're currently at. You're
- 1:04Speaker 1: going to a Jonas Brothers concert. This date will be
- 1:07Speaker 1: there with you. I'm very very excited to ask you,
- 1:12Speaker 1: how are you feeling?
- 1:14Speaker 3: I am super excited. I have to be honest. The
- 1:17Speaker 3: response to the podcast has been really great. But our
- 1:20Speaker 3: listeners keep messaging me wanting to know if I'm actually
- 1:23Speaker 3: going to date someone, Like they're all caught up now
- 1:25Speaker 3: on all of the things and they know what I
- 1:27Speaker 3: want and what I'm doing, but they would like to
- 1:29Speaker 3: know if I'm actually going to be dating.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, I hope. So I'm just
- 1:32Speaker 2: waiting on Ben here.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you know what. We want to get the
- 1:36Speaker 1: episodes out there. So the responses were incredible. We have
- 1:41Speaker 1: a lot of options available. I think this is a
- 1:43Speaker 1: good option for you.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Though.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Are you nervous at all?
- 1:47Speaker 2: No, not right now. I just am like, you know,
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'm just trying to.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Find the right outfit to wear. But like my genes
- 1:54Speaker 3: look so great, but they're so tight Ben that I'm suffocating.
- 1:57Speaker 3: But it's a good asset, you know what I mean.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And I'm really trying to highlight it because I put
- 2:03Speaker 3: one good foot in front of the other.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 2: No, I'm not nervous.
- 2:07Speaker 4: That's a good word you use there.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I'm not nervous. I'm actually really excited. But my hope
- 2:15Speaker 3: is that you know whomever it is that is coming
- 2:18Speaker 3: that I guess it's taking it seriously, because I realized
- 2:22Speaker 3: this is super unconventional to be going on a podcast,
- 2:25Speaker 3: to be dating a girl who was on reality TV
- 2:28Speaker 3: a long time ago, you know what I mean, and
- 2:30Speaker 3: to be able to think that that it could be something.
- 2:33Speaker 3: There's a possibility that it could be something. So I
- 2:36Speaker 3: hope is that that he's showing up with great intentions?
- 2:40Speaker 5: Mm hmm.
- 2:41Speaker 2: If he's your friend, I'm going to blame you.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I think he is. Do you want to hear a
- 2:46Speaker 4: little bit about him?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah? I do.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I'm dying. No one will tell me anything.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Okay, So, first thing, he's tall.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Oh I love it, love love love.
- 2:56Speaker 4: We at famously available. Find him very.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Handsome, oh we that's exciting.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Easton especially he grew up in the Bay Area.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Okay, he's a dad, love it, love it.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Very athletic.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Oh, bonus points.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He's a nice guy too. That's the final thing I'm
- 3:19Speaker 1: gonna share with you tonight. He's a very nice guy.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Okay. Is he funny?
- 3:23Speaker 5: You'll have to you have to be the judge of that.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I think humor is something that I can never put
- 3:28Speaker 1: down as a characteristic for somebody, because I find people
- 3:31Speaker 1: hilarious that other people do not find funny.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Okay, is he a Joe Bros.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Fan?
- 3:37Speaker 6: I don't know that, Or is it going to be
- 3:40Speaker 6: like we're a couple of old chumps over here watching
- 3:42Speaker 6: the Jonas Brothers creeping out?
- 3:47Speaker 1: You do have some friends there with you? Or I
- 3:51Speaker 1: saw some instagrams last night. I wasn't invited to this party.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That's why I'm doing this virtually. I would have loved
- 3:57Speaker 1: to be invited.
- 3:58Speaker 2: It's an all girls dinner, Ben, it's an all.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Girls dinner last night. Can you tell us who's there
- 4:04Speaker 1: from the show with you?
- 4:07Speaker 2: It's a lot of fun.
- 4:09Speaker 3: It's Ashley I is here, Daisy is here, Kathy is here,
- 4:16Speaker 3: Susan is here, Susie is here. It's a good group
- 4:22Speaker 3: of solid women. That's a lot of fun.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Are you getting any of their advice as you get
- 4:27Speaker 1: ready for tonight?
- 4:28Speaker 3: You know what is so funny is all of the
- 4:30Speaker 3: girls were like, this is so exciting. You're going on
- 4:33Speaker 3: a date. What are you guys going to do? And
- 4:34Speaker 3: I was like, we're all kind of going on my
- 4:37Speaker 3: date together. We're all gonna be together, which is super exciting.
- 4:42Speaker 3: And so the girls were all actually really excited that
- 4:45Speaker 3: they're going to get to meet him, because I was like, Okay,
- 4:48Speaker 3: if he's great, we'll have a lot of fun. It's
- 4:51Speaker 3: the Jonas Brothers concert. If he's not so great, there's
- 4:54Speaker 3: other people in the room to talk to to help
- 4:56Speaker 3: smooth things over. So for me, it's a win win.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Doesn't feel like a lot of pressure. We can just
- 5:02Speaker 3: hang out and enjoy good music, or we can really
- 5:08Speaker 3: hit it off and it won't matter who else is
- 5:09Speaker 3: in the room.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Is this more or less ideal than just the two
- 5:13Speaker 1: of you going out for the first time alone?
- 5:15Speaker 3: To me, this is more ideal. I really appreciate non
- 5:21Speaker 3: traditional dating.
- 5:24Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I had some friends who were like, oh my gosh,
- 5:25Speaker 3: you're going to a concert, like you're not going to
- 5:27Speaker 3: be able to talk and get to know each other.
- 5:28Speaker 3: But for me, that feels almost like a relief, because
- 5:33Speaker 3: what if the conversation does suck, you know what I mean,
- 5:36Speaker 3: Like we'd just be like so hot about Nick I'm like.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Joe, you know.
- 5:41Speaker 3: But where it's also it's also pretty exciting because if
- 5:45Speaker 3: it is like someone can show up in a scenario
- 5:48Speaker 3: like this, you know, and I get it, He's not
- 5:50Speaker 3: coming there and it's just going to be me.
- 5:51Speaker 2: There's going to be other women in the room.
- 5:53Speaker 3: So let's hope he doesn't flirt with all the other
- 5:55Speaker 3: women in the room and I can be the apple
- 5:57Speaker 3: of his eye this evening. But you know, beggars can't
- 5:59Speaker 3: beat you. I guess plenty of options to go around.
- 6:03Speaker 3: But you know, I just think that it's a lot
- 6:05Speaker 3: of fun. It's an activity. It's not a typical like
- 6:07Speaker 3: sit down get to know each other. There's no pressure
- 6:10Speaker 3: to like ask hard questions. We can just see if
- 6:12Speaker 3: the vibe is there, if we're feeling each other, and
- 6:14Speaker 3: if we're not, then we got to go to a concert,
- 6:16Speaker 3: we got.
- 6:17Speaker 2: To eat some good food, and we got to enjoy
- 6:19Speaker 2: some friends.
- 6:20Speaker 1: You know, we've gotten to know you through the last
- 6:23Speaker 1: few weeks. I know the responses, as you said, have
- 6:25Speaker 1: been really encouraging, but also very curious of if you're
- 6:28Speaker 1: ever going to date. Have you taken in any of
- 6:32Speaker 1: these comments? Does it add a level of pressure now
- 6:35Speaker 1: knowing that there's people listening excited about this, Has anybody
- 6:39Speaker 1: given you any insights kind of talk about to us
- 6:42Speaker 1: the world of getting this show released, having the response
- 6:47Speaker 1: and how it's prepared you for this moment.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not putting any pressure on myself. I think
- 6:52Speaker 3: it's actually pretty exciting that anybody would want to listen
- 6:56Speaker 3: and follow along. And I think that I really appreciate
- 7:00Speaker 3: that there is, you know, a group of women out
- 7:02Speaker 3: there who are walking along in the same life phase
- 7:04Speaker 3: as I am, that are you know, newly divorced or
- 7:07Speaker 3: divorced and are trying to get into the dating world.
- 7:11Speaker 3: And pretty much all of them is like, hey, good luck,
- 7:13Speaker 3: it's not pretty out there in the wild, and I'm like, yeah,
- 7:16Speaker 3: it's a good thing. I'm not in the wild. I
- 7:18Speaker 3: am like I am in a controlled zoo here, you
- 7:21Speaker 3: know what I mean, where we get to pet every
- 7:23Speaker 3: animal and see which ones we like the most. But
- 7:27Speaker 3: for the most part, everyone has had a really good response,
- 7:31Speaker 3: and I would say through social media, people have been
- 7:33Speaker 3: really engaging because I just posted the other day what
- 7:36Speaker 3: to wear on this date, because I haven't been on
- 7:38Speaker 3: a date in so long that I don't.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Know how to dress appropriately anymore.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Because you know, I'm in that like sweet spot in
- 7:45Speaker 3: my life. I'm not like super young like Susie and Daisy,
- 7:48Speaker 3: where you know, I'm trendy, but I'm not like super
- 7:51Speaker 3: old like Susan and Kathy that sounds terrible. I don't
- 7:55Speaker 3: mean we didn't like that, but do you know what
- 7:56Speaker 3: I'm saying, Like I'm not in that bracket yet to
- 7:58Speaker 3: where I need to wear like sweaters around my neck.
- 8:00Speaker 3: So it's a fine line of like, hey, I don't
- 8:03Speaker 3: want to look to Lucy Goosey, but also comfortable.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And feeling good in my skin. Do you understand?
- 8:10Speaker 3: So that was a lot of fun posting them on
- 8:13Speaker 3: social media because I got a really good response from
- 8:16Speaker 3: women everywhere telling me what I should wear on this date,
- 8:20Speaker 3: and it's kind of fun to bring everybody along.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I did two options.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Ben.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I was like myself, jeans and a cool shirt, like
- 8:30Speaker 3: that's I feel best in jeans, Like that's my comfort zone.
- 8:33Speaker 3: And then I was trying to like live on the
- 8:34Speaker 3: edge and do like a skirt and a black top,
- 8:38Speaker 3: and I was like, I don't know, this just doesn't
- 8:40Speaker 3: feel me. I'll be uncomfortable all night, like what if
- 8:43Speaker 3: my butt hangs out, or like I bend over, or
- 8:46Speaker 3: like I have to suck it in all night, Like
- 8:48Speaker 3: it's the things that a forty somethings have to worry about, Ben,
- 8:50Speaker 3: And I'm not just not trying to worry about it.
- 8:52Speaker 3: And so luckily ninety five percent of the women voted
- 8:57Speaker 3: jeans and a cute top, and I feel really good
- 8:58Speaker 3: about that.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah you should.
- 9:00Speaker 1: My advice to you is go with what makes you
- 9:02Speaker 1: most comfortable tonight. And it's a concert, right, you can
- 9:05Speaker 1: kind of wear whatever you want.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I would prefer my vans instead of high heels, but
- 9:10Speaker 3: I am since you're saying he's tall, I'll slip the
- 9:12Speaker 3: heels on.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what heels are nice.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Any questions that you have for him coming off like
- 9:28Speaker 1: that you're thinking about you have to get answered, or
- 9:30Speaker 1: any ice breakers.
- 9:32Speaker 4: I used to go with the would you rathers as
- 9:35Speaker 4: ice breakers?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Shoot, Ben, Like, I wasn't feeling any nerves until you
- 9:40Speaker 3: start talking like, I didn't really have a plan going
- 9:42Speaker 3: into this. I just thought, when I walk into the
- 9:44Speaker 3: room and the door opens and the wind blows and
- 9:46Speaker 3: my hair falls back, he takes one look at me
- 9:48Speaker 3: and he falls madly in love, and then the rest
- 9:50Speaker 3: is all history. But now all of a sudden, I'm like, well, shoot,
- 9:53Speaker 3: do I need to open up chat GPT and figure
- 9:55Speaker 3: out how a first date's supposed to go?
- 9:58Speaker 2: No?
- 9:58Speaker 5: Probably? Probably?
- 9:59Speaker 4: Okay, you want to hear my icebreaker?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Okay, would you rather be a alligator or a bird?
- 10:06Speaker 2: I'm not going to say that.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Ben, why I got married from it?
- 10:10Speaker 3: No, I need you to send me Jessica's number right now.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I'm just I hate to break it to you.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Ben.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I appreciate all of your advice in the realm of
- 10:22Speaker 3: relationships and love, but I don't think that I'm gonna
- 10:25Speaker 3: be going with that one.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Wait, are you even going to tell me his name?
- 10:28Speaker 5: No? No, there's your chance.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I tell you, I have to like walk up.
- 10:31Speaker 3: He's gonna have to guess which one of me is
- 10:35Speaker 3: in the room.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Do you think he'll know?
- 10:36Speaker 4: I think he's gonna have a good idea.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Do you think I should wear an orange jumpsuit?
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna tell him. We've already told him. You
- 10:44Speaker 1: are the pretty brunette who is going to be so
- 10:49Speaker 1: excited to be there tonight. We're excited for you here
- 10:52Speaker 1: famously available once this gets started. Here's the thing, though,
- 10:55Speaker 1: here's my biggest concern.
- 10:57Speaker 4: You want to hear it?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yeah, if this date work, we don't have a season left,
- 11:01Speaker 1: Like we're done. Like with this episode goes one more,
- 11:04Speaker 1: we find out like that you guys are just perfect
- 11:06Speaker 1: and everything's happy and go lucky, and we close this chapter.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Maybe it's not, though, Ben, let me pause you. Maybe
- 11:12Speaker 2: it's not.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Let's say, best case scenario. I go out tonight, I
- 11:17Speaker 3: meet this guy at the Jonas Brothers concert. We hit
- 11:19Speaker 3: it off. It's all there. He's emotionally stable and healthy
- 11:24Speaker 3: and also attractive and to all which we've got. But
- 11:27Speaker 3: let's say that we do hit it off. Yeah, why
- 11:29Speaker 3: isn't there a chance that there's a second date and
- 11:32Speaker 3: you follow me through that? A lot can change between
- 11:34Speaker 3: now the first date a second date, let alone the
- 11:36Speaker 3: eighth date. Because once people start removing the mask, you
- 11:41Speaker 3: know what I mean? Yeah, then you're talking about real
- 11:43Speaker 3: life stuff. Maybe there's beauty in that.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Here's the deal. Then we're going to follow you along
- 11:49Speaker 1: for as long as you let us.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Are we manifesting? Is that what we're doing right now?
- 11:54Speaker 5: Yeah? We are.
- 11:55Speaker 4: We're doing that.
- 11:56Speaker 1: We're doing the hope, the wishes, the manifestation, and we're
- 12:00Speaker 1: to follow along as long as you let us. And
- 12:02Speaker 1: then at some point you're gonna have to break up
- 12:03Speaker 1: with this, and you're gonna have to tell us, oh.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Break up with you. I'll have to break up with you.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I'm not good at breakup spin. I think that you
- 12:09Speaker 3: can google that and tell yeah, So.
- 12:11Speaker 1: You're gonna have to tell us, You're gonna tell us. Hey,
- 12:14Speaker 1: please stop following me. This is getting weird. It's been
- 12:17Speaker 1: six years. Final two questions for you? What are you
- 12:19Speaker 1: hoping to get out tonight? At its basic level?
- 12:24Speaker 3: I think what I'm hoping to get out of tonight
- 12:26Speaker 3: on the most basic level is just dip my toes
- 12:28Speaker 3: and beIN. It's been a long time since I've been
- 12:31Speaker 3: out on a date, a really long time. But there's
- 12:35Speaker 3: so much that goes along with that. Like, there's been
- 12:37Speaker 3: a long time that I have felt really beautiful. There's
- 12:39Speaker 3: been a long time, you know, that I have felt
- 12:42Speaker 3: truly desired, there has It's been a long time that
- 12:45Speaker 3: I've actually had to have meaningful conversation with a person
- 12:50Speaker 3: of the opposite sex.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So for me, I'm just looking to, you know, get
- 12:54Speaker 2: my toes a little wet, that's all.
- 12:56Speaker 3: And if it blows me out of the water, then
- 12:59Speaker 3: I will welcome that.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Could this night end in the kiss?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Oh that would be exciting, wouldn't it. That was fun?
- 13:05Speaker 4: That would be fun.
- 13:05Speaker 2: That would be fun, Ben, sign me up?
- 13:08Speaker 4: Are you a Jonas Brothers fan?
- 13:10Speaker 2: I do like the Joe Bros. But I like the
- 13:12Speaker 2: adult Joe Bros.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I felt creepy when they were really young, thinking that
- 13:16Speaker 3: the Joe Bros Were cool. But when they released that
- 13:17Speaker 3: song where they were dancing around in their underwear and
- 13:19Speaker 3: their shirts, what a man gotta do? I was like, Okay,
- 13:22Speaker 3: I'll take Nick or Joe or Knick or Joe.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Oh, you cracked up.
- 13:28Speaker 1: You are in a good You are in the perfect place.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So here is my words for you. Have a blast,
- 13:34Speaker 1: you are incredible, you are beautiful. These are all very
- 13:38Speaker 1: true statements that nobody can deny. Just have a lot
- 13:42Speaker 1: of fun tonight because I cannot wait to catch up
- 13:45Speaker 1: with you after this date is over. Right here, I'm
- 13:47Speaker 1: famously available. We're getting started finally, and this is good.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I'm so excited. Thanks Ben.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I recently sent single Deanna Pappus out to a Jonas
- 14:09Speaker 1: Brothers concert for her first set up date here on
- 14:13Speaker 1: the show. Now, we always invite the dates to come
- 14:16Speaker 1: on the show and give their perspective as well, but
- 14:19Speaker 1: this date has opted to not come on the podcast.
- 14:22Speaker 1: But I've got someone else who was there and witnessed
- 14:25Speaker 1: everything go down that night. So before I connect with
- 14:27Speaker 1: Diana this week and we get her thoughts, opinions, feelings, emotions,
- 14:32Speaker 1: all those things about the date, I thought I'd connect
- 14:36Speaker 1: with Cynthia, who was kind of observing the date and
- 14:40Speaker 1: hanging out with them all night long.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Cynthia, welcome to Famously Available.
- 14:45Speaker 7: Thank you for having me.
- 14:46Speaker 6: I feel like I'm this undercover spy doing like Roman's
- 14:50Speaker 6: romance recon you are.
- 14:52Speaker 1: You're one hundred percent that for us today. We are
- 14:55Speaker 1: here because we're curious. We're gonna have Diana on and
- 14:59Speaker 1: she's gonna share her thoughts and perspective on everything, kind
- 15:03Speaker 1: of what she was going through.
- 15:04Speaker 5: But I think that's going to come from.
- 15:05Speaker 1: More of a personal place for her, and I do
- 15:09Speaker 1: think it's always helpful to have an outside perspective come
- 15:13Speaker 1: in and share what they were seeing. You were there
- 15:17Speaker 1: for the evening at this concert. You met Dianna that night, correct?
- 15:23Speaker 7: I did. That was the first time meeting her, Okay.
- 15:25Speaker 5: And so then did you meet her date that night
- 15:27Speaker 5: as well?
- 15:28Speaker 7: I did, So I met both of them for the
- 15:30Speaker 7: first time that evening.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Let's talk about Deanna, because that's who we love and
- 15:34Speaker 1: care about here. How was she feeling looking? What was
- 15:39Speaker 1: kind of the vibe that you were picking up on
- 15:41Speaker 1: walking into that.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Ghoby, We had such great energy. First of all, she
- 15:44Speaker 6: was dressed amazingly, she looked super hot.
- 15:48Speaker 7: She was really outgoing and open and.
- 15:51Speaker 6: Talking to a lot of people, Like she has such
- 15:54Speaker 6: good energy, Like you can't not help but fall in
- 15:57Speaker 6: love with her, Like, honestly, she did everything right when
- 16:01Speaker 6: it comes to I think dating, which is being presentable,
- 16:05Speaker 6: but not being like too presentable, if that makes kind
- 16:09Speaker 6: of sense, Like she was just there to have a
- 16:11Speaker 6: really good time, and I think that's the energy you
- 16:13Speaker 6: want when you're dating.
- 16:15Speaker 5: What about his vibe?
- 16:16Speaker 6: Vn same thing, like really good looking, super approachable, like
- 16:22Speaker 6: great to talk to. And then when I saw the
- 16:24Speaker 6: two of them talking, like I really thought there was
- 16:28Speaker 6: a vibe there.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Okay, so you're hinting at something from your perspective, was
- 16:35Speaker 1: there a vibe between them?
- 16:37Speaker 7: I thought there was.
- 16:39Speaker 6: I really thought like there was good body language when
- 16:43Speaker 6: you know you're kind of facing towards the person and
- 16:45Speaker 6: you're open to speaking to them close enough that you
- 16:49Speaker 6: can have a conversation. It definitely seemed viby.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Now we were worried about this. Here famously available. This
- 16:57Speaker 1: was obviously an incredible event and a really fun event
- 17:01Speaker 1: to be at the Jonas Brothers concert.
- 17:03Speaker 5: We had suites, we had.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Everything set up, But concerts are I don't think like
- 17:08Speaker 1: ideal for first dates. They're loud, there's other people around.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You want to have a good time, You want to
- 17:14Speaker 1: enjoy the music, so you don't want to be talking
- 17:16Speaker 1: the whole time. Do you think that possibly some of
- 17:21Speaker 1: the night was either enhanced by the concert or did
- 17:24Speaker 1: it feel like the concert was a difficult place to
- 17:26Speaker 1: have a first date.
- 17:27Speaker 6: Oh, that's such a good question. I like the concert
- 17:30Speaker 6: idea as a.
- 17:31Speaker 7: It's like a great meet cute. Oh we met at
- 17:34Speaker 7: a concert.
- 17:35Speaker 6: We kind of hit it off, like, let's go to
- 17:36Speaker 6: coffee the next day or a couple days later. The
- 17:39Speaker 6: thing with that particular suite, if you've been to private
- 17:43Speaker 6: suites before, there's two different versions.
- 17:45Speaker 7: One where there's like a glass wall.
- 17:47Speaker 6: And a door, so you can have like an indoor
- 17:49Speaker 6: outdoor situation where there's like stadium seating outside, but you
- 17:52Speaker 6: can still have an indoor experience and it's a little
- 17:54Speaker 6: bit quieter.
- 17:55Speaker 7: This was, unfortunately not that case. It was wide open.
- 17:58Speaker 6: So even if you were like inside where there's like
- 18:00Speaker 6: sofa and the food, it's still a full blown concert
- 18:05Speaker 6: experience where it is really loud.
- 18:07Speaker 7: So I could see where it could be difficult.
- 18:10Speaker 6: You are having a conversation, you're kind of meeting, everyone's
- 18:13Speaker 6: having a good time, but it is so incredibly loud
- 18:16Speaker 6: that I don't think you necessarily get the best version
- 18:20Speaker 6: of like necessarily a first date, I would.
- 18:23Speaker 7: Say, meet cute.
- 18:24Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:26Speaker 6: I'm really shocked that them seeming like they were having
- 18:31Speaker 6: a really good time together, that there wasn't a let's
- 18:34Speaker 6: get together and get to know each other more.
- 18:36Speaker 1: That's kind of where we're sitting right now. We did
- 18:38Speaker 1: hear that he and maybe you weren't around for this,
- 18:41Speaker 1: or maybe you are familiar with this. We have heard
- 18:44Speaker 1: that he asked her to go outside and talk at
- 18:49Speaker 1: some point and she did not agree to that. I
- 18:52Speaker 1: don't know if you're around for this part, what happened?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Are you familiar with it?
- 18:58Speaker 6: That I didn't see. I did not see them leaving
- 19:01Speaker 6: to talk outside.
- 19:03Speaker 7: I probably would have noticed that. I left about fifteen
- 19:05Speaker 7: minutes before the end of the concert. I'm old. I
- 19:08Speaker 7: wanted to miss the traffic.
- 19:10Speaker 5: I'm with you. I would have been the same.
- 19:12Speaker 6: So I didn't see that, but I'm glad that he did.
- 19:16Speaker 6: But again, I'm still shocked that there wasn't a get together.
- 19:20Speaker 6: I do feel like we're all at a certain age
- 19:24Speaker 6: that even if it's not like or give it a chance,
- 19:28Speaker 6: I guess is what I'm saying. You know, even if
- 19:32Speaker 6: you might not have that romantic spark right away, meet
- 19:35Speaker 6: new people, just get together for that second chance, like
- 19:40Speaker 6: go out and have a coffee with someone and just
- 19:42Speaker 6: see worst case scenario. I don't think it's the worst
- 19:45Speaker 6: thing to say, like I'm gonna put you in the
- 19:46Speaker 6: friend zone, because we could all use more friends when
- 19:49Speaker 6: you get into your forties and your fifties. Sure it's
- 19:52Speaker 6: not like a horrible thing, and you never know that
- 19:54Speaker 6: person might have friends that might be a better.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Fit for you.
- 19:57Speaker 6: So just the fact that I he was an into
- 20:00Speaker 6: even getting together after I really am shocked because she
- 20:04Speaker 6: again had such good energy, Like, how could you.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Not want to get together unless I mean he's divorced.
- 20:12Speaker 7: She's divorced.
- 20:13Speaker 6: I don't know how newly divorced he is, Like, wasn't
- 20:16Speaker 6: so new for him that.
- 20:19Speaker 7: Maybe the timing was off, because timing is so important too.
- 20:22Speaker 1: It is important, So you know what we've picked up on.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Did you ask either of them kind of what their
- 20:29Speaker 1: feelings were towards each other?
- 20:31Speaker 6: At least initially, No, because I didn't want to interrupt,
- 20:34Speaker 6: Like it was kind of like things were like looking really.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Good, A little bit of personal information about you, kind
- 20:51Speaker 1: of heading up for our last group of questions here,
- 20:54Speaker 1: what is your romantic situation?
- 20:57Speaker 6: I'm married, so I was talking to him, but I
- 21:00Speaker 6: also feel like I'm married.
- 21:02Speaker 7: I'm wearing a ring.
- 21:03Speaker 6: People ask me about my husband. We had mutual friends
- 21:07Speaker 6: in common who know my husband because we go to
- 21:10Speaker 6: high We went to high school together, and people that
- 21:11Speaker 6: we went to high school with were there, So I
- 21:13Speaker 6: kind of feel like I'm that safe person to talk
- 21:15Speaker 6: to him, kind of like the gay best friend, like
- 21:18Speaker 6: easy to talk to because I'm not nothing's happening here.
- 21:21Speaker 6: So I don't know if like he felt comfortable talking
- 21:23Speaker 6: to me because I am married.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you two did speak, he didn't at
- 21:29Speaker 1: all hint either way of what he was thinking towards
- 21:31Speaker 1: Deannaty not at.
- 21:32Speaker 6: All No, which I also think again is really respectable too,
- 21:38Speaker 6: Like you know, it's not like we're in our twenties
- 21:40Speaker 6: and it's like, oh, she's a hottie. Like, I don't
- 21:43Speaker 6: think people do that. I think just the fact that
- 21:46Speaker 6: they were really connecting and they had a good energy
- 21:50Speaker 6: and again, like body language is so important that the
- 21:53Speaker 6: body language was there. Again, like to say that they're
- 21:56Speaker 6: not having a coffee like just shocks me.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 6: If I was gay and I was single, I date her.
- 22:04Speaker 7: She's so nice and awesome. She is like she's like
- 22:08Speaker 7: the package.
- 22:09Speaker 1: She's a great package. She's great, she's awesome. That's what
- 22:11Speaker 1: we have her here, famously available.
- 22:13Speaker 6: She needs to come to New York City. I feel
- 22:15Speaker 6: like this could be a good place for her.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a little more maybe down have more people
- 22:21Speaker 1: kind of within what she's looking for. But I was
- 22:25Speaker 1: given advice when I was single by somebody, and I
- 22:28Speaker 1: think it's great advice when you're single, especially as you
- 22:31Speaker 1: get older. In our single just keep dating. Go on
- 22:35Speaker 1: weird dates, go on good dates, go on funky dates.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Just keep dating because at some point you're going to
- 22:40Speaker 1: kind of figure out what it is that make maybe
- 22:43Speaker 1: brings out the best in you. And so for the
- 22:46Speaker 1: two of them, as they're both divorced, and they're looking
- 22:50Speaker 1: to get back out there in the dating world.
- 22:52Speaker 5: I do.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I am surprised that there isn't a follow up date,
- 22:55Speaker 1: and we're going to get maybe more information on that
- 22:57Speaker 1: here when we bring Deanna on this week and figure
- 23:00Speaker 1: out what you know from her perspective why there isn't
- 23:02Speaker 1: a second fall up date. But if she listens to this,
- 23:06Speaker 1: which she will, and you were to give her advice
- 23:09Speaker 1: specifically take away that this date worked or didn't work,
- 23:12Speaker 1: but just as she continues on this journey, what advice
- 23:16Speaker 1: do you have for somebody in their forties and fifties
- 23:20Speaker 1: that are looking to date and trying to date and
- 23:22Speaker 1: trying to get back out there.
- 23:24Speaker 7: I think you nailed it. Number one is keep dating.
- 23:28Speaker 6: I look back after breakups and the people I dated
- 23:31Speaker 6: right after breakups, I almost want to apologize to them
- 23:33Speaker 6: because they didn't get my best self because I was so.
- 23:35Speaker 7: New to it.
- 23:36Speaker 6: Again, you have to keep dating to get comfortable with it.
- 23:39Speaker 6: And it's also about you being comfortable with dating and
- 23:42Speaker 6: showing your true self and not your dating self, like
- 23:45Speaker 6: you want to show your real personality. And I think
- 23:48Speaker 6: number two, do the things that you love to do,
- 23:52Speaker 6: because then you're going to be a happy because it's
- 23:54Speaker 6: what you love to do, and you're going to be
- 23:56Speaker 6: around people who also have the same commonalities, like if
- 23:59Speaker 6: you love to ron, join a running club, if you
- 24:01Speaker 6: love to cook, take some cooking classes, do things that
- 24:04Speaker 6: are your passion, and then you're going to attract the
- 24:06Speaker 6: people that have the same passions as you. And I
- 24:09Speaker 6: think that's really important. But no matter what, just keep
- 24:12Speaker 6: getting your dating legs under you. You have to just
- 24:15Speaker 6: keep going out and putting yourself out there.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's daunting, I know it is. It's a big
- 24:20Speaker 1: it's daunting, but I think once you get, like you said,
- 24:24Speaker 1: your dating legs, the pressure gets taken off. Every date
- 24:28Speaker 1: seems important, but less important, so you're not putting all
- 24:32Speaker 1: your weight into it. It becomes kind of a skill set,
- 24:35Speaker 1: a habit, and hopefully at the end you can find somebody.
- 24:38Speaker 1: A final question for you, Cynthia, we've kind of gone
- 24:42Speaker 1: through the whole evening from your perspective, the good the
- 24:44Speaker 1: Bad's what you thought when the two of them walked
- 24:47Speaker 1: in and you met them both the first time. Was
- 24:51Speaker 1: your first interaction one of Oh my gosh, I could
- 24:55Speaker 1: actually see these two as like they're a couple or
- 24:58Speaker 1: was it like these two have total different vibes.
- 25:01Speaker 7: No, Actually, I could totally see them dating. I really could.
- 25:05Speaker 6: I think they have a lot of things in common
- 25:06Speaker 6: from what I talked to both of them about.
- 25:10Speaker 7: It really just could be timing and the place.
- 25:13Speaker 6: So I don't think when it comes to dating. I
- 25:17Speaker 6: would just tell her number one, don't take things personally either.
- 25:22Speaker 6: It had nothing to do with her. She did everything right.
- 25:25Speaker 6: She was herself, she was personable, she was outgoing, she
- 25:29Speaker 6: was lovely.
- 25:30Speaker 7: To speak to.
- 25:31Speaker 3: She looked incredible, like she was the package. So it's
- 25:35Speaker 3: not about you, it's the other person. And that's okay
- 25:38Speaker 3: because that does not mean that your person's not out there.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Just has to mean that you haven't met them yet.
- 25:42Speaker 5: That's right.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Well, Cynthia, make us a deal here. If we bring
- 25:47Speaker 1: Dianna to New York City to put her on a date,
- 25:51Speaker 1: you are going to go sit like a table beside them.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yes, I'm gonna put on.
- 25:57Speaker 7: A trench coat, I've got my sunglasses.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And break it down for us right here, famously available, Cynthia,
- 26:03Speaker 1: thank you for coming on, thank you for going on
- 26:05Speaker 1: the data. I hope you had a great time, but
- 26:08Speaker 1: also your insight is very helpful.
- 26:11Speaker 5: We appreciate you.
- 26:12Speaker 6: Anytime I've got her back, I'll be her wingwoman here
- 26:15Speaker 6: in New York.
- 26:16Speaker 5: I love it.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Thanks Cynthia, Thanks Ben. All Right, so we've gotten Cynthia's
- 26:19Speaker 1: perspective on the date. That's an outsider looking in and
- 26:23Speaker 1: giving us everything she saw. But stay tuned to this
- 26:27Speaker 1: week as we get Diana on the show to hear
- 26:29Speaker 1: her perspective on why the date worked or didn't work.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Or maybe there's some insights that we just aren't knowledgeable
- 26:36Speaker 1: of right now that will help bring clarity to the
- 26:40Speaker 1: situation at hand.
- 26:41Speaker 5: So stay tuned until next time. I've been Ben
