- 0:30Speaker 3: be covering on a thorough investigation into the John F.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Kennedy assassination. And I can tell you, based on what
- 0:35Speaker 3: I've been seeing so far, the initial hearing that was
- 0:39Speaker 3: actually held here in Congress was actually faulty in the
- 0:42Speaker 3: single bowet theory. I believe that there were two shooters,
- 0:44Speaker 3: and we should be finding more information as we are
- 0:48Speaker 3: able to gain access into the skiff of.
- 0:54Speaker 2: W I back my ass whole grab.
- 0:55Speaker 4: You ain't never had that, you little grittell I'll cly
- 0:59Speaker 4: dig off the grist, will make it asshole whistle to

- 1:54Speaker 7: to the TLG fan from my Valentine.
- 1:58Speaker 8: Hi TLG fam, I want to Rob and the supporting members,
- 2:02Speaker 8: especially Tiny Dancer, Happy Valentine's Day. Hopefully Valentine's Day doesn't
- 2:07Speaker 8: fall on a Friday for another seven years though, And
- 2:10Speaker 8: here we go.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Boom, good, Joba, lovely, thank you, Erica, what's up everybody?
- 2:18Speaker 2: And welcome to the special Valentine's Day edition. Joe, you're
- 2:23Speaker 2: my Valentine for the evening. Sorry Erica, we can share though,
- 2:28Speaker 2: It's all good. She's done with that her power thriple.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Welcome to the show. It's episode of three thirty. It's
- 2:38Speaker 2: going to be talking about hl Hunt, drilling for the
- 2:41Speaker 2: truth and see if there's anything to all these crazy allegations.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Since we had such a great time with our guests
- 2:49Speaker 2: last last week James Day talking about the far right,
- 2:53Speaker 2: we decided, you know, never really done a show on
- 2:55Speaker 2: hl Hunt and gone too deep on him. We're going
- 3:00Speaker 2: to do that today. And if you missed it. Oh boy,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I don't know what to tell you. But we had
- 3:07Speaker 2: a hell of a Wednesday show. Uh, we always do
- 3:10Speaker 2: set up set up this show a good bit and
- 3:13Speaker 2: we did a good bit of a preview on h L. Hunt. Right,
- 3:19Speaker 2: And one thing, Joe, I wanted to correct you on
- 3:21Speaker 2: real quick because, uh, thankfully I didn't put it on
- 3:25Speaker 2: the cover art for this evening show. Uh, hunt Ketchup
- 3:29Speaker 2: is not made by was not made by h L.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Hunt Food. Oh yeah, yeah, huh.
- 3:40Speaker 7: I know he was big in the food he was.
- 3:44Speaker 2: He had different brands and stuff that he did he made,
- 3:47Speaker 2: but unfortunately Hunt Ketchup was not one of them.
- 3:49Speaker 7: It wasn't that like was it from Pittsburgh or somewhere
- 3:52Speaker 7: or that's Hines.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, Hunt comes from the Hunt brothers who came
- 3:58Speaker 2: out I believe it was in the late eighteen hundreds,
- 4:02Speaker 2: like eighteen eighty eight or something. They came out with
- 4:05Speaker 2: the food line and Hunts Ketchup was one of their
- 4:07Speaker 2: main deals, among amongst some other things.
- 4:10Speaker 7: But okay, yeah, fair enough, And I can correct you
- 4:15Speaker 7: because HL Hunts. Yes, his replica replica house in Dallas
- 4:26Speaker 7: was based off of George Washington's not Thomas Jefferson's.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yes, I believe I was corrected by Alpha sixty six
- 4:35Speaker 2: on Wednesday evening for the.
- 4:36Speaker 7: Same time I had to get even had the.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Fravasty of justice there. But before we get started, let's
- 4:43Speaker 2: welcome into people, because you know we're missing it and
- 4:47Speaker 2: they're sharing their Valentine's daytime with us as well, So
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's only fitting that we say hi to everybody who
- 4:54Speaker 2: took some time here. Scott just ordered some Silk City.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Oh oh wow, Novo, sir, You're gonna enjoy it. Enjoy it,
- 5:03Speaker 2: enjoy it, Jeff.
- 5:04Speaker 7: Thanks your first order. Scott. I feel like you've ordered
- 5:08Speaker 7: it before, but I could be wrong.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Hey, you know sometimes you need to re up Joe.
- 5:13Speaker 7: Oh well, I know.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You know he's starting to get low. It's time time
- 5:17Speaker 2: to put another order in. Yeah, and if you'd like
- 5:20Speaker 2: to be like Scott and order some Silk City link
- 5:23Speaker 2: below In the description, the code is Gunman all caps
- 5:27Speaker 2: g U N M an booth.
- 5:29Speaker 7: Yeah and Rob. I saw Jeff's video I think he
- 5:34Speaker 7: released yesterday or the day before. He made a new
- 5:37Speaker 7: batch of Ghost Pepper apple cider hot sauce and it
- 5:43Speaker 7: looks fire and he gave like he was doing like
- 5:46Speaker 7: a video on YouTube, go over and search that to subscribe,
- 5:51Speaker 7: and he was just doing the whole process. It was awesome. Man,
- 5:54Speaker 7: I love what he's doing with the YouTube thing, because.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, definitely maha got it.
- 6:00Speaker 7: Can help you again.
- 6:01Speaker 2: No additives, all nets you a raw, no preservatives either. Yes,
- 6:08Speaker 2: Trey's in the house. What is up? Trey? Paula is in? Hello, Paula, Paula.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Salie is back. We missed you Wednesday night, Sally, we did. Uh.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Our buddy Lee Ralph is in the house. What's up? Lee?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Bungled is in? What's up? Bungled? Alpha sixty six? Big Mike?
- 6:30Speaker 7: Yeah, and Uh, prayers out. Mike lost his mom last night.
- 6:36Speaker 7: So if you believe in prayer, U pray for him.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Send him a few. Yeah. Tiny dancers in there, Hi Tiny,
- 6:49Speaker 2: How are you happy Valentine's Day? Tiny?
- 6:52Speaker 7: Yeah? Erica Tiny, wish you a happy Palatine's Day. Thumbs
- 6:58Speaker 7: up from Erica.
- 7:01Speaker 2: South to West is in the house. David s is
- 7:07Speaker 2: in the house. What's up? David?
- 7:09Speaker 7: Hey, David, how are you?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Let's see Timothy Ryan is in the house. What's up,
- 7:16Speaker 2: tim What's up? What's up? South? Wait a minute I
- 7:21Speaker 2: did say Southwest already Scott Edwards is in the house
- 7:26Speaker 2: with Scott and named Scott. That's by Mike Myer's impression.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Dr Egle. Let's see awesome. I believe that's everybody. We
- 7:41Speaker 2: got a full house to kick this thing off. Joe.
- 7:44Speaker 7: Yeah, And I want to thank the few dozen people
- 7:50Speaker 7: on Reddit that came over last week. I made a
- 7:54Speaker 7: post last week talking about our guest. We got a
- 7:57Speaker 7: bunch of new subscribers, a few dozen and made a
- 8:00Speaker 7: post probably half an hour ago, so we have a
- 8:06Speaker 7: lot of love over there. Everyone was like, I love
- 8:08Speaker 7: your show. I'm a big fan. I always listen, and
- 8:11Speaker 7: we've never been on bread. No.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Well, the backstory of this, folks is, I got on
- 8:17Speaker 2: some weird email chain with Janet Banister, right, and there
- 8:23Speaker 2: was another dude on this thing and his name on
- 8:26Speaker 2: there was single bullet query. So I'm thinking, does this
- 8:30Speaker 2: guy have a podcast, you know, like or something I
- 8:35Speaker 2: don't know? Doesn't have his real name, So I googled
- 8:38Speaker 2: it and nothing, nothing comes up, nothing, nothing at all.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So I'm thinking, who is this because he seemed kind
- 8:50Speaker 2: of lone, nutterish, right, So I'm like, who in the
- 8:55Speaker 2: hell is this, so I don't know. Months go by,
- 8:59Speaker 2: months go by, and then he reaches out to me
- 9:05Speaker 2: and says, you know, you gotta finally got around to
- 9:08Speaker 2: watching us when we had Jann and on. It was
- 9:10Speaker 2: a great show. Blah blah blah. And he said that
- 9:14Speaker 2: he was the I guess what do you call it
- 9:17Speaker 2: when you make a moderator a thing on Reddit? Like
- 9:23Speaker 2: a what is that?
- 9:26Speaker 7: You're not talking about a moderator, that's.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Us, the r dash whatever the hell?
- 9:31Speaker 9: Oh, it's it's a community. It's a a subreddit. I
- 9:35Speaker 9: think it's called like a like a group. I think
- 9:41Speaker 9: it's called the jfk Assassination.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It has has one s in the second ass for
- 9:47Speaker 2: some reason. I don't know if that's one purpose or
- 9:49Speaker 2: he just can't spell. I don't know, over ass fascination,
- 9:54Speaker 2: the second part one else.
- 9:57Speaker 7: Tens of thousands of members.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, like twenty thousand some people over there. So
- 10:04Speaker 2: I tried to post something. You know, when he first
- 10:07Speaker 2: told me about it, he was like, yeah, head over there,
- 10:09Speaker 2: and he's like, I'm the moderator. I'll give you like
- 10:11Speaker 2: special like special status or whatever it's called. You know,
- 10:17Speaker 2: I don't know nothing about reddit, but apparently, because I've
- 10:22Speaker 2: never posted on Reddit before, I've got no juice or
- 10:24Speaker 2: whatever it's called over there.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Karma karma.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so my post is still a waiting approval from
- 10:31Speaker 2: early December, and so Joe goes over there and he
- 10:34Speaker 2: posts upthing and goes right up. I'm like, what the fuck?
- 10:37Speaker 2: I said, how does that happen? I got a lot
- 10:39Speaker 2: of karma.
- 10:40Speaker 7: I got one k plus karma.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Bro, I was like, what the hell is that? Apparently
- 10:46Speaker 2: you build up karma by posting on Reddit.
- 10:49Speaker 7: If you get a like an up vote on your post,
- 10:53Speaker 7: you get a karma. So if I make a post
- 10:54Speaker 7: and it gets one hundred up votes and I think
- 10:57Speaker 7: our last one got like seventy, that's how you got
- 11:01Speaker 7: the karma. So I would have gotten one hundred karma
- 11:04Speaker 7: and I got a thousand. Over the years, haven't been
- 11:07Speaker 7: too active on it, but apparently it's a very happening place.
- 11:11Speaker 7: Rob a lot of JFK and discussion there.
- 11:14Speaker 2: So it's a whole big community we knew nothing about.
- 11:17Speaker 2: So if you want to check it out and you
- 11:19Speaker 2: use Reddit, if you don't use Reddit, skip it because
- 11:23Speaker 2: it's hard to figure out. But yeah, just go to
- 11:27Speaker 2: Reddit and look up the subreddit jfk assassination with the
- 11:31Speaker 2: second ass spelled with one as and if it's got
- 11:34Speaker 2: about twenty thousand people members, you're in the right spot.
- 11:39Speaker 2: And then I guess you can join in different discussions
- 11:41Speaker 2: as you want to. Yeah, just like the.
- 11:45Speaker 7: Education for Market any group chat type of thing.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yes, Perpetual Concepts has entered the chat.
- 11:54Speaker 7: Oh what's up Bud?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Happy Valentine's Day, sir?
- 11:59Speaker 7: And Joe salute.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Salute, yes, salute.
- 12:09Speaker 7: Timothy loves Reddit. Are you familiar with that group, Timothy?
- 12:15Speaker 7: But it seems to be at least one of the
- 12:17Speaker 7: largest ones.
- 12:18Speaker 2: So ye, go join over there and give give Joe
- 12:21Speaker 2: some more karma on his posts.
- 12:24Speaker 7: Yeah, come on, Hey, our karma got us some new
- 12:29Speaker 7: subs sold.
- 12:33Speaker 2: But you know my post from three months ago, we'd
- 12:36Speaker 2: already have two thousand if they would just open the
- 12:40Speaker 2: gate and let me in.
- 12:42Speaker 7: Yeah, but I good think you mentioned good thing. You
- 12:45Speaker 7: mentioned that, Rob. We are at nineteen hundred and twenty
- 12:50Speaker 7: I think five followers on YouTube. We were trying to
- 12:54Speaker 7: get to two thousand soon. So if you are seeing
- 12:57Speaker 7: this and you are not subscribed, what are you doing?
- 13:01Speaker 7: Please click the subscribe button?
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and what your boys. Wait, I finally found a way,
- 13:07Speaker 2: an easy way for folks to join the channel, become
- 13:12Speaker 2: a channel member. Okay, there is a link in the
- 13:16Speaker 2: description of this video to do just that. So if
- 13:20Speaker 2: you'd like to support the show and you're not already
- 13:22Speaker 2: a member, or you haven't figured out how to do
- 13:24Speaker 2: it yet, all you gotta do is click a link now.
- 13:27Speaker 2: And I'm going to start putting it in the description
- 13:28Speaker 2: of all of our Friday videos to make it easy
- 13:33Speaker 2: for people, because I know a lot of people listen
- 13:35Speaker 2: on their phone, and for some reason it's damn near
- 13:38Speaker 2: impossible to figure out how to do it on the phone.
- 13:41Speaker 2: If it is even possible, I don't know.
- 13:46Speaker 7: A Leman. Cruz says his Reddit karma is one hundred
- 13:50Speaker 7: and ninety thousand plus. Well, sir, give us some of
- 13:53Speaker 7: your carma.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Shit, he's a Reddit god.
- 13:56Speaker 7: Yeah, that's pretty much what it is. Timothy said he
- 13:59Speaker 7: is going to look it up and what else there
- 14:06Speaker 7: or on the reddit thing? Uh oh yeah, Bobby don't
- 14:10Speaker 7: got no karma. He's working on it, Southwest, He's.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Working on it.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I've got zero karma.
- 14:22Speaker 7: I think you have some karma.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Uh, not at Reddit.
- 14:30Speaker 7: Not at Reddit.
- 14:31Speaker 2: In the world, in the world that's right now, yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 2: and in the ether. Yes, yes, I'm doing so much karma.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You have no idea. Most of it not good, but
- 14:44Speaker 2: you know, we all end up paying for our scens eventually.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I guess I just have to hope the good outweighs
- 14:50Speaker 2: the bad at the end of the old uh.
- 14:53Speaker 7: You know, yeah, when you go to the pearly gates. Yeah,
- 14:59Speaker 7: and yeah, from your lips to God's ears, as they say,
- 15:01Speaker 7: per personal, perpetual concepts. Two k then ten, then one hundred,
- 15:06Speaker 7: and it will be done. And we do have some
- 15:09Speaker 7: exciting things on the horizon in the next couple of weeks.
- 15:13Speaker 7: I'm not going to spoil it now, but we'll be
- 15:18Speaker 7: on another big JFK podcast and that host will be
- 15:23Speaker 7: hopefully on with us in March.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Not as big as this one, but another JFK podcast.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Yes, yes, And Paula Scott Edwards and Trey might know
- 15:37Speaker 7: who he is because we met him, and we met
- 15:42Speaker 7: him in Dallas and he came and gave us a
- 15:43Speaker 7: bottle of Jack Daniels before he left for his flight.
- 15:47Speaker 7: So if that's not a qualification of a cool dude,
- 15:51Speaker 7: I'm not sure.
- 15:52Speaker 2: M All right, You ready to talk to Michell Hunt?
- 15:57Speaker 7: Yeah, let's get into it.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Hunt. So this dude h lived a crazy life and
- 16:08Speaker 2: I don't want to rehash everything that we talked about
- 16:11Speaker 2: on Wednesday night, but the majority of the people weren't
- 16:14Speaker 2: here for it, so you may hear some repetition. I'm
- 16:18Speaker 2: not trying to do that, but when you're talking about
- 16:24Speaker 2: this guy, Haroldton Lafayette Hunt Junior self made a billionaire. Okay.
- 16:34Speaker 2: He did it the old fashioned way, from nothing to
- 16:38Speaker 2: something and lived a very frugal lifestyle. Now, don't get
- 16:49Speaker 2: it twisted. He did like to finder things in life
- 16:53Speaker 2: when it comes to certain things like a house, okay,
- 17:00Speaker 2: but cars he really didn't give a shit about. He
- 17:03Speaker 2: rolled around and you know, just a regular car anybody
- 17:06Speaker 2: any Joe could afford. You know. He cut his own hair.
- 17:12Speaker 2: He refused to pay for haircuts. He took his lunch
- 17:16Speaker 2: in a brown paper sack, much like Lee Oswald. Every
- 17:19Speaker 2: day to work he had his little ballooney sandwich and
- 17:24Speaker 2: with a piece of cheese on it and an apple.
- 17:26Speaker 7: Every day, right, a juice box and a juice box
- 17:32Speaker 7: just for me.
- 17:34Speaker 2: And my hl Hunt tomato sauce tomato catsup all right,
- 17:43Speaker 2: So yeah, he went from nothing to something. But of
- 17:47Speaker 2: course his dude had very far right wing leaning principles
- 17:53Speaker 2: and ideals. That's right, tiny a a billionaire, A billionaire, hi, Colleen.
- 18:01Speaker 7: Yep, hundreds of millions at that time, adjustice for inflation.
- 18:10Speaker 7: And his of course numerous oil wells. They say, the
- 18:15Speaker 7: biggest oil well in Texas I think was East Oil
- 18:17Speaker 7: or something. Oh yeah, he struck literal gold.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah. But and he did it with no straight out
- 18:27Speaker 2: capital like he would He was this smart guy. He
- 18:30Speaker 2: was a homeschooled okay. But while he wasn't very savvy
- 18:37Speaker 2: in like, you know, the ways of the world type
- 18:40Speaker 2: of thing, he was smart in dealing with people. And
- 18:45Speaker 2: what he would do is make deals with people that
- 18:50Speaker 2: own land and guarantee them a return for a certain percentage, right,
- 18:56Speaker 2: and then he would broker those deals to somebody else
- 18:59Speaker 2: and be the middleman and not have to do anything.
- 19:04Speaker 2: So he amassed a good fortune kind of doing that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He owned some cotton picking fields.
- 19:09Speaker 7: Rob Can I stop you did you hear in your
- 19:12Speaker 7: research this week the rumor or the myth of how
- 19:17Speaker 7: he won that land that later became the East Oil
- 19:24Speaker 7: or you know, his bread and butter. He won it
- 19:29Speaker 7: allegedly at a poker game.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yes, that is the that is the rumor.
- 19:35Speaker 7: And of course that can't be confirmed, but that has
- 19:38Speaker 7: been the myth.
- 19:39Speaker 2: So yeah. Then in the thirties he was able to
- 19:46Speaker 2: purchase the rights to East Texas oil lands through a
- 19:49Speaker 2: thirty thousand dollars land purchase from spectator.
- 19:52Speaker 10: Old Dad Joiner, who we talked about on Wednesday evening
- 19:55Speaker 10: down and he.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Was a wild catter, that is what they called him
- 19:58Speaker 2: back in. That's how basical smell from sixteen point nine
- 20:02Speaker 2: miles away in the middle of the desert. From that
- 20:09Speaker 2: acquisition and others, including diverse interests in publishing cosmetics. That's right, Joe,
- 20:14Speaker 2: you heard that right. He made lipstick and rouge and foundation.
- 20:23Speaker 2: He was big into pea cans, right, He had some
- 20:26Speaker 2: peacan trees in his front yard, and he was big
- 20:30Speaker 2: into pea can farming and health food. He also had
- 20:40Speaker 2: a faxed forum foundation that would later support his highly
- 20:45Speaker 2: conservative newspaper columns and his radio programs, some of which
- 20:48Speaker 2: he authored and produced himself and for which he became
- 20:51Speaker 2: known as I pointed out Wednesday Night for becoming basically
- 20:55Speaker 2: the first ever podcaster right, like you got money, bro,
- 21:02Speaker 2: So he would pay to get his show Lifeline on
- 21:06Speaker 2: to radio stations, and I believe at one point it
- 21:10Speaker 2: was up to five or six hundred radio stations around
- 21:13Speaker 2: the world. Now, I don't know if you bought all
- 21:15Speaker 2: that time, but he certainly could have if he wanted to. Yeah,
- 21:20Speaker 2: but the right wing ideology, the anti communist rhetoric was
- 21:26Speaker 2: popular at the time, so I'm sure some of these stations,
- 21:29Speaker 2: you know, did carry it and they paid him for it.
- 21:33Speaker 2: But yeah, when he got to start, you know, he
- 21:35Speaker 2: was buying time to do a daily you know, thirty
- 21:40Speaker 2: minute hour long show. First podcaster.
- 21:44Speaker 11: HL Hunt visionary, Yes, a revolutionary.
- 22:01Speaker 2: So let's see.
- 22:05Speaker 7: And when when you'd like, sir, I have about a
- 22:09Speaker 7: three or four minute clip, uh, detailing a video, uh
- 22:14Speaker 7: detailing H. L. Hunt in his estate and his bagged
- 22:19Speaker 7: lunch and all that good stuff. When it's ready, when
- 22:22Speaker 7: you tell.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Me, sir, right that I didn't tell you yet there no,
- 22:27Speaker 2: I said, when you're ready, Okay, gotcha. After his cotton
- 22:34Speaker 2: plantations had flooded in Louisiana down near shreve Portray, Uh,
- 22:41Speaker 2: he turned his last one hundred dollars that he had
- 22:44Speaker 2: to end his name into more than one hundred thousand
- 22:47Speaker 2: after he gambled in New Orleans. He had Clay Shawl
- 22:56Speaker 2: blow on his dice before he tossed him.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, minus some karma there.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah, added to the list right, see in hell, everybody, it's.
- 23:18Speaker 12: Uh So, I want to talk a little bit about
- 23:28Speaker 12: his proclivity, Joe, his proclivity and you know what I
- 23:34Speaker 12: mean by proclivity.
- 23:36Speaker 7: I might, but why don't you let the audioce.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Know I mean his cocksmithing ability. Now, when you're a billionaire,
- 23:48Speaker 2: I'm sure it's not relatively hard to bed a nice
- 23:51Speaker 2: Southern lady a time or two, or multiple times or
- 23:59Speaker 2: fifteen times.
- 24:00Speaker 7: Oh I know.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Turns out, Joe hl Hunt at least the children that
- 24:12Speaker 2: he admitted to or could be proven were his fifteen children,
- 24:21Speaker 2: although he likely had more folks. But these are the
- 24:27Speaker 2: ones that are legit, and some of the names of
- 24:31Speaker 2: his kids. I'm gonna read through him here. You're gonna
- 24:33Speaker 2: love this. You were gonna love this, all right. So first, first,
- 24:40Speaker 2: we have Margaret Hunt Hill, who actually died in two
- 24:47Speaker 2: thousand and seven. She was co owner of Hunt Petroleum.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Hasse Hunt the third that's hl Hunt, the third, diagnosed
- 24:57Speaker 2: with schizophrenia in the early forties, owner of Hunt Petroleum.
- 25:02Speaker 2: He lived in the Cuckoo Ben until two thousand and five.
- 25:06Speaker 7: Oh wow, he hung on.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Huh Yeah. Caroline Rose Hunt, founder and honorary chairman of
- 25:14Speaker 2: Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, which operates the mansion on Turtle
- 25:18Speaker 2: Creek right near General Walker's house, Leda. Bunker Hunt died
- 25:27Speaker 2: as an infant, not even a month old. That sucks.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Nelson Hunt. Nelson Bunker Hunt Uh tried to corner the
- 25:44Speaker 2: silver market in nineteen seventy nine, along with his brother,
- 25:48Speaker 2: convicted of conspiring to manipulate the silver market.
- 25:52Speaker 7: Joe, Yeah, you know, I read about that rock today
- 25:56Speaker 7: and they had bought so much silver it had on
- 26:00Speaker 7: to over fifty dollars an ounce, and just for comparison,
- 26:04Speaker 7: and I think that's in the fifties or sixties. Today
- 26:09Speaker 7: it's like thirty two dollars an ounce, so and if
- 26:13Speaker 7: you multiply that by inflation. They they bought a ton
- 26:17Speaker 7: of the sulfur on the market to try to corner it.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Literally almost bought it all. And Momar Kadafi, you can
- 26:24Speaker 2: thank mo Mar Kadaffi for busting up that okay? Really really? Yeah?
- 26:32Speaker 2: I guess these Nelson Bunker Hunting and his brother were
- 26:36Speaker 2: developing Libyan oil fields and it was Mamar Kadaffi who
- 26:43Speaker 2: busted him out of him for trying to corner the
- 26:46Speaker 2: market and they lost all their interests in Libyan oil.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Could not be kicked him out of his country.
- 26:51Speaker 7: Huh.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Then there's the famous superspy Joe Howard Lee Hunt died
- 27:03Speaker 2: in nineteen seventy five. Harold Dina Joe Harold Dina, Harold
- 27:12Speaker 2: Dina French Hunt.
- 27:16Speaker 7: And of course Hall's name was Harold Yeah. First, so yes,
- 27:20Speaker 7: I named his daughter after Could.
- 27:22Speaker 2: You imagine get with a chick name Haroldina?
- 27:26Speaker 7: Uh? Not really. I mean, if she was dope enough,
- 27:29Speaker 7: i'd be down. Erica Closure hands on ears.
- 27:35Speaker 2: That see. What's what's her father's name? Who's father Erica's.
- 27:46Speaker 7: I think it's Mitchell.
- 27:50Speaker 2: So if her name was Mitchellina, that's not too bad,
- 27:55Speaker 2: I don't guess.
- 27:56Speaker 7: No, it's not as bad as Haroldina.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Haroldina's pretty bad.
- 28:00Speaker 7: That's pretty bad.
- 28:04Speaker 2: William Herbert Hunt, Helen Lee Hunt, Lamar Hunt. Of course,
- 28:12Speaker 2: that's the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, a co
- 28:18Speaker 2: founder of the American Football League and the North American
- 28:21Speaker 2: Soccer League, owner of the Columbus Crew FC. Dallas, backer
- 28:26Speaker 2: of the World Championship tennis, coined the name a super Bowl.
- 28:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yes, he asked his kids what they should call it,
- 28:38Speaker 2: and his kids name said the super Bowl. So that's
- 28:44Speaker 2: why the super Bowl is named the super Bowl. Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 7: And there's the Lamar Hunt Trophy, which I believe is
- 28:51Speaker 7: given to the AFC Championship winner every year.
- 28:56Speaker 2: So ironically, the Chiefs like a bottle of ketch up.
- 29:01Speaker 7: The Chiefs of the past three years, owned by the Hunts,
- 29:05Speaker 7: won the Lamar Hunt Trophy.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Of course. Of course, then we have Hugh S. Hunt,
- 29:12Speaker 2: Ray Lee Hunt, June Hunt, Helen Hunt, not the actress,
- 29:19Speaker 2: Swanee Hunt, former US Ambassador of Austria, now head of
- 29:25Speaker 2: the Women in Public Policy Program at the John F.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and.
- 29:35Speaker 8: H O.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Hunt died in nineteen seventy four, right but in nineteen
- 29:39Speaker 2: seventy five, after his death, it was discovered that he
- 29:41Speaker 2: had had hidden a bigamous relationship with a second wife
- 29:46Speaker 2: while living in New York. After his marriage to Ruce Ray,
- 29:53Speaker 2: Hunt became a Baptist and was a member of the
- 29:55Speaker 2: First Baptist Church of Dallas. He was a major financial
- 29:58Speaker 2: contributor towards the establish of the conservative evangelical Chriswell College
- 30:03Speaker 2: in Dallas. He died at Baylor Hospital in Dallas after
- 30:12Speaker 2: several months of being ill madic at the age of
- 30:15Speaker 2: eighty five. Not buried, Wait a minute, yeah, buried in
- 30:20Speaker 2: Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park. Has a somewhat famous grandchild who
- 30:30Speaker 2: plays in a black metal death band called Lethargy, and
- 30:36Speaker 2: his or her name I can't figure it out is
- 30:40Speaker 2: Hala Hunt Hendrix. Hl Hunt also served as the inspiration
- 30:48Speaker 2: behind the character j R. Ewing from the famous Dallas
- 30:52Speaker 2: TV show that we talked about in depth on the
- 30:56Speaker 2: Wednesday Secret Show. So I watched our Secret Show and
- 31:00Speaker 2: you remember, go back and watch it because we go
- 31:03Speaker 2: Dallas deep talk a little.
- 31:05Speaker 7: JR.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Ewing school Joe a little bit, and we know it
- 31:08Speaker 2: was before his time.
- 31:10Speaker 7: Which reference went completely above my head.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know the who shot JR?
- 31:17Speaker 7: Thing?
- 31:17Speaker 2: And and uh yeah it was. It was great to
- 31:22Speaker 2: check that out. Let's see, let's talk about his JFK
- 31:29Speaker 2: conspiracy allegations just for a second. Well, one part of
- 31:33Speaker 2: it anyway right now. So Madeline Duncan Brown, who I
- 31:42Speaker 2: believe is a liar on par with Beverly Oliver and
- 31:46Speaker 2: Judy Baker, who wasn't advertising executive, claim to have had
- 31:52Speaker 2: both an extended love affair and a son with President
- 31:56Speaker 2: Lyndon Baines. Johnson said she was president, had a party
- 32:00Speaker 2: in Dallas at the home of Clinton Murchison Senior, another
- 32:04Speaker 2: oil tycoon, the evening prior to the assassination of John F. Kennedy,
- 32:09Speaker 2: what she says, was attended by Johnson as well as
- 32:13Speaker 2: other famous, wealthy and powerful individuals, including hl Hunt, Clint Murchison,
- 32:18Speaker 2: Jed Guyhova, and Richard Nixon Tricky Dick. According to Brown,
- 32:24Speaker 2: Johnson had a meeting with several of the man after.
- 32:26Speaker 10: Which he told her, after tomorrow, those goddamn Kennedy's will
- 32:30Speaker 10: never embarrass me again. That's no threat, that's a promise,
- 32:36Speaker 10: and then he bent her over the window sill and
- 32:38Speaker 10: took her to Poundtown. Baby Brown's story received national attention
- 32:45Speaker 10: and became part of at least a dozen of JFK
- 32:48Speaker 10: assassination conspiracy theories.
- 32:49Speaker 2: But Kennedy assassination investigator Dave Perry refuted this theory with
- 32:54Speaker 2: evidence showing that neither President Johnson nor Hoover were in
- 32:59Speaker 2: Dab the night before the assassination. Yeah, and Murchison had
- 33:05Speaker 2: not lived in his Dallas home for a number of years.
- 33:09Speaker 2: He was actually witnesses actually placed Clinton Murchison at his
- 33:12Speaker 2: East Texas ranch the night before the assassinates. So a
- 33:17Speaker 2: lot of hooey horseshit there, right, Yeah, So Joe.
- 33:22Speaker 7: And the Nixon thing, which is a stretch.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we know Nixon was in town. Yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 2: but he had left that company thing or whatever it was.
- 33:35Speaker 7: I believe he had left that night, like the Thursday
- 33:39Speaker 7: night for memory.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah. But Nixon actually liked Kennedy. Okay, he wouldn't have
- 33:45Speaker 2: attended a meeting to you know, and been part of
- 33:47Speaker 2: some secret all to have him killed for Christ's sake.
- 33:51Speaker 7: No, they have mutual respect for each other, definitely did.
- 33:55Speaker 7: They were both World War Two veterans. Yeah. I mean
- 34:02Speaker 7: the Nixon claims are absurd, but condemned absurd.
- 34:07Speaker 2: One other thing that we'll get to your video. So
- 34:15Speaker 2: I mentioned before his bigamy, right, which is basically cheating
- 34:20Speaker 2: on your wife type of thing. But only this is
- 34:24Speaker 2: a little worse than that, Okay, because he was actually
- 34:30Speaker 2: he actually tried to marry he married some other woman
- 34:33Speaker 2: where he was still married to somebody else, right, So
- 34:40Speaker 2: what they did about that? In nineteen twenty five in Florida,
- 34:48Speaker 2: Okay hl Hunt married Franya Tie of Tampa, Florida in
- 34:54Speaker 2: November twenty five, using the name Franklin Hunt. Frandia claimed
- 34:59Speaker 2: to have discover what over the bigomous nature of her
- 35:01Speaker 2: marriage in nineteen thirty four. Nine years later, and in
- 35:05Speaker 2: a legal settlement in nineteen forty one, Hunt created trust
- 35:08Speaker 2: funds for each of their four children, and she signed
- 35:12Speaker 2: a document stipulating that no legal marriage between them had
- 35:15Speaker 2: ever existed. At about the same time, she briefly married
- 35:19Speaker 2: then divorced Hunt's employee, John Lee, taking the last name
- 35:23Speaker 2: Lee for herself and her four children. Her four children
- 35:27Speaker 2: by Hunt were Howard, Helen Hugh, and Haroldina A. Trey.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Hunt supported and had children by another woman.
- 35:42Speaker 7: Where was she looking?
- 35:42Speaker 2: At Ruth ray Port, Louisiana, to the northwest of Alexandria,
- 35:49Speaker 2: whom he had met while she was a secretary in
- 35:52Speaker 2: his Shreveport office. They married in nineteen fifty seven, after
- 35:56Speaker 2: the death of Hunt's wife, Lyda. His by her were
- 36:01Speaker 2: ray Lee June Helen and Swanee June.
- 36:07Speaker 7: Yeah, that's our that's Oronic.
- 36:09Speaker 2: His youngest son, ray Lee, inherited the business and was
- 36:12Speaker 2: a major supporter of President George W.
- 36:15Speaker 6: Bush.
- 36:19Speaker 2: All right, the video, Joe.
- 36:21Speaker 7: Sure, let's do it.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Take to day.
- 36:25Speaker 7: Yeah, and I think this was released in the late sixties,
- 36:33Speaker 7: possibly nineteen seventy. It doesn't give a date on the video.
- 36:41Speaker 7: But fascinating interview. We're gonna play a couple of minutes this, Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, Trey, Guess where the Franya ty
- 36:55Speaker 2: Lee trial was held? Let me guess, Trey, Shreveport, Louisia.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Am I right? Am? I right?
- 37:09Speaker 7: Okay, a lot of things going on in Shreveport, as
- 37:12Speaker 7: we have discussed. Yes, Mount Vernon.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Dallas, Yes, Homer Thomas Jefferson.
- 37:26Speaker 13: In that same Dallas before a house modeled on George
- 37:29Speaker 13: Washington's own Mount Vernon. But of course a week bit bigger,
- 37:32Speaker 13: another rich Texan and his wife got about their early
- 37:34Speaker 13: morning which you were up raising the flag. But Harold,
- 37:37Speaker 13: from that day at Hunt is the richest Texan of
- 37:39Speaker 13: them all until.
- 37:41Speaker 14: Recently that morning I'm sorry I said this is after
- 37:46Speaker 14: he raised his flag in his bedroom that morning, they
- 37:50Speaker 14: got out the front door and raised that flag on
- 37:52Speaker 14: the flag pole.
- 37:54Speaker 7: Yeah, and I think that's a Texas flag.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yes, I see stars and stripes, Joe, I can't tell.
- 38:01Speaker 7: But interesting that he does it himself.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Right, yes, all by himself. He pulls that rope.
- 38:09Speaker 7: Or maybe this was for the video shoot.
- 38:12Speaker 13: He now seems to have stumble a little in those
- 38:14Speaker 13: particular steaks. A multi multimillionaires estimate to put his work
- 38:18Speaker 13: between three hundred and five hundred million pounds and his
- 38:21Speaker 13: weekly incomb at about half a million pounds. That is
- 38:24Speaker 13: over seventy fives.
- 38:27Speaker 2: A bit like he's not used to doing it. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:30Speaker 2: and this makes his wife do it.
- 38:33Speaker 7: Yeah, and this is a BBC clippy, which is why
- 38:38Speaker 7: they put it in pounds.
- 38:41Speaker 13: Punds made his money in oil, and it still makes
- 38:43Speaker 13: it mostly in oil, though he's branched out now into
- 38:46Speaker 13: everything from raising cattle to selling real estate, from peddling
- 38:50Speaker 13: patent medicines to promoting professional football, from canning foods to
- 38:54Speaker 13: building holiday resorts.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Yet he permits himself a few pleasures.
- 38:59Speaker 13: He takes lunch to work with him every morning at
- 39:01Speaker 13: a brown paper bag.
- 39:03Speaker 7: M just throws it on the show.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Real layman with just getting the driver's seating over on
- 39:14Speaker 2: the bass.
- 39:16Speaker 13: He doesn't even indulge in a CD.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Read on the cheek. That's it, Maybe all right? Did work?
- 39:25Speaker 1: I drive a medium size, medium priced cars, and I
- 39:31Speaker 1: buy bread and made suits. After they get pretty old. Well,
- 39:38Speaker 1: I get quite fond of were moved, thank for most
- 39:41Speaker 1: people would. And I don't smoke anymore heaven for years.
- 39:49Speaker 1: And I drink practically no alcoholic beverages whatsoever.
- 39:56Speaker 13: And seldom takes a holiday, and rarely, in fact leaves
- 39:59Speaker 13: his home city.
- 40:00Speaker 2: It does.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I don't care much for travel. I have travels, but
- 40:07Speaker 1: it was always for.
- 40:08Speaker 4: A purpose that I was rowing somewhere.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Sad, I'm sorry. The only time he traveled was just
- 40:17Speaker 2: to spread his seed for and wide.
- 40:20Speaker 7: Yeah, and to South America, as he will explain in
- 40:23Speaker 7: a second.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I think America back in nineteen fifty six, and I
- 40:30Speaker 1: got quite a good insight into each one of the
- 40:33Speaker 1: governments down there. And I have a bad reputation, whether
- 40:40Speaker 1: rightful or not, being apruval being approval.
- 40:50Speaker 13: As well as being perhaps the most appruval, the most
- 40:52Speaker 13: stingy plutocrat of Texas.
- 40:54Speaker 7: H L.
- 40:54Speaker 13: Hut is probably the most controversial. Well, he's a fervent
- 40:57Speaker 13: advocate of right wing some would say react dictionary courses.
- 41:01Speaker 13: He is against the UN, against the War on poverty,
- 41:04Speaker 13: against medicare, against central government date of any sort. He
- 41:07Speaker 13: would rather Washington didn't rule the United States at all,
- 41:11Speaker 13: and in his ideal that votes would be distributed according
- 41:13Speaker 13: to the amount of taxis who paid.
- 41:18Speaker 7: I haven't heard that before. Uh, the amount of dollars
- 41:22Speaker 7: I paid in taxes, I should get an equal amount
- 41:24Speaker 7: of votes for That's a new one to me.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a master of many quotes.
- 41:29Speaker 7: Hey, if I was him, I'd probably have that same view. Yeah,
- 41:34Speaker 7: more than most Texans.
- 41:36Speaker 13: Even he is inclined to see communists under every coach
- 41:39Speaker 13: and behind every curtain.
- 41:40Speaker 7: Look at your secretary, kind of divided.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Into communists is the here he comes.
- 41:44Speaker 13: His private word for anti communists. You are either for
- 41:48Speaker 13: him or again he brooks no halfway position.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Third morning, okay, sir hu in the morning.
- 42:03Speaker 13: Seemingly gentleman to meet. H Hunt is taught by many
- 42:07Speaker 13: to be the most dangerous plutocrat of Texas.
- 42:11Speaker 2: All those secretaries. The first thing I want to do
- 42:12Speaker 2: when I get to work and sit down here at
- 42:14Speaker 2: my desk and play it. Joe, I was to commentary.
- 42:21Speaker 2: It's commentary.
- 42:23Speaker 7: People.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to pick up this phone here and
- 42:25Speaker 2: I'm going to ask somebody who's on the other.
- 42:28Speaker 7: End any important calls.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Do you have any important calls for me?
- 42:37Speaker 5: No?
- 42:38Speaker 6: Okay, that later, I'll like kept them later.
- 42:42Speaker 2: I'm busy. Good day.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Bland Tall in favor people having the pride.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Of accomplishment and self sufficiency, and so I don't believe,
- 43:01Speaker 1: for instance, in this war on poverty. I think that
- 43:05Speaker 1: is a tony thing.
- 43:07Speaker 4: There are people that people are put on the dole and.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Also they will hardly considered taking Many of them considered
- 43:22Speaker 1: taking the job because that would interfere.
- 43:24Speaker 4: With their early payments.
- 43:27Speaker 1: There is no other country in the United States that
- 43:30Speaker 1: has any chance to stop communism except the United States.
- 43:35Speaker 1: That's there in the country in the world that can
- 43:38Speaker 1: and turn it back.
- 43:40Speaker 13: And endeavoring to turn that tide is how hl Hands
- 43:43Speaker 13: spends most of his day and most of his wealth.
- 43:45Speaker 7: He turns out let us.
- 43:46Speaker 13: By the thousand to the editors of every conceivable cornball
- 43:50Speaker 13: country hit newspaper in America, Indicator Weekly column and writes
- 43:54Speaker 13: and publish his paperbacks on his views. He start copy
- 43:57Speaker 13: without questioning every telegram or let every articles story that
- 44:02Speaker 13: is written about him, and few visitors can escape his
- 44:05Speaker 13: office without a bundle of his but without a load
- 44:08Speaker 13: of his little his main propaganda weapon, which is carried
- 44:13Speaker 13: daily by over four hundred stations the length and breadth
- 44:15Speaker 13: of America. Its message is one of imminent disaster facing
- 44:19Speaker 13: the United States from the enime within, particularly from the
- 44:23Speaker 13: eneme within the federal heartland f Washington. It is a
- 44:27Speaker 13: familiar message, of course among American right wingers, and a
- 44:30Speaker 13: favorite with many of his fellow Texan plutographs. But during
- 44:34Speaker 13: the last two years H. O. Hunter has added another
- 44:36Speaker 13: emotive missile to his armory. His league of so called
- 44:40Speaker 13: youth freedom speakers, engaging young teenagers drive to deliver three
- 44:44Speaker 13: minute bursts of his propaganda to rotary clubs and Bible classes.
- 44:50Speaker 15: Many people in the United States really don't believe that
- 44:53Speaker 15: communism is a serious threat. But these people are in
- 44:57Speaker 15: for a big shock because the Communists had every intention
- 45:02Speaker 15: of doing exactly what they said they'll do, and they
- 45:05Speaker 15: do not hesitate to use force and violence anytime.
- 45:09Speaker 2: They think that all right, I'm just waiting for her
- 45:12Speaker 2: to start dancing and taking her clothes off.
- 45:14Speaker 7: Okay, she almost does, but I feel like we had enough.
- 45:18Speaker 7: But I think that that.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Gave the part laugh in everybody.
- 45:23Speaker 7: It gave an interesting insight into his life, I thought.
- 45:26Speaker 7: I mean, I hadn't never seen that before stumble on
- 45:30Speaker 7: it today. So very interesting, right, lovely, lovely. Yeah. I'm
- 45:36Speaker 7: just catching up on some of the comments, and there
- 45:39Speaker 7: are some good ones.
- 45:42Speaker 2: I'm going to read this one other actually FBI document
- 45:46Speaker 2: I got sure from May fifteenth, nineteen and sixty four,
- 45:54Speaker 2: the FBI interviewed Nelson Bunker Hunt of Lakeside Drive, with
- 46:00Speaker 2: offices on the seventh floor of the Mercantile Securities Building,
- 46:04Speaker 2: an independent oil operator. At the outset of interview requested
- 46:08Speaker 2: that his secretary call his attorney as soon as we
- 46:12Speaker 2: showed up to be interviewed. He was therefore interviewed in
- 46:16Speaker 2: the presence of his attorney, a mister Ivan Irwin. So
- 46:23Speaker 2: the FBI shows up to interview him and he says, look,
- 46:25Speaker 2: I'm not talking to you guys without my lawyer here.
- 46:29Speaker 2: So Hunt readily admitted having contributed cash to Joe Grinnan
- 46:36Speaker 2: for the purposes of placing an advertisement in the Dallas
- 46:39Speaker 2: Morning News. This advertisement appeared on November twenty second, nineteen
- 46:44Speaker 2: sixty three, and was signed by the American Fact Finding Committee.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Hunt termed it an article which asked some embarrassing questions
- 46:52Speaker 2: of President Kennedy. He said he could not recall the
- 46:57Speaker 2: amount he contributed, but believed it was somewhere between two
- 47:00Speaker 2: and three hundred bucks. He gave the contribution to Joe
- 47:04Speaker 2: Grinnan in cash, merely reaching in his pocket and pulling
- 47:07Speaker 2: forth that along with some pocket lint. He exhibited this
- 47:14Speaker 2: by reaching in his pocket and exposing a roll of
- 47:16Speaker 2: bills that he had tucked down by his penis While
- 47:20Speaker 2: being interviewed. He said John Grinnan contacted him several days
- 47:25Speaker 2: before the Dallas Morning News ran the advertisement and told
- 47:27Speaker 2: him by telephone that the Dallas Morning News would publish
- 47:31Speaker 2: this advertisement. He later came by the Hunt office and
- 47:35Speaker 2: received the money. Mister Hunt related. Hunt was unable to
- 47:39Speaker 2: state whether he had read the article prior to the publication,
- 47:42Speaker 2: but stated that Grinnin might have read some of it
- 47:45Speaker 2: on the phone or might have told him about it.
- 47:48Speaker 2: He stated the article was a harsh criticism of President
- 47:52Speaker 2: Kennedy's policies, but in a dignified way. He stated the
- 47:58Speaker 2: money contributed by him was his own money, and he
- 48:01Speaker 2: did not solicit or obtain contributions from any other person
- 48:05Speaker 2: for his personal contributions to this fund. Hunt stated that
- 48:10Speaker 2: he did not know Lee, Harvey Oswald or Jack Ruby,
- 48:13Speaker 2: and stated that he had never had any contact with
- 48:15Speaker 2: either one of them. He did not know the names
- 48:18Speaker 2: of others who had contributed toward the cost of the advertisement,
- 48:21Speaker 2: and did not know Bernard Weisman, whose name appeared on
- 48:25Speaker 2: the actual advertisement. He understood that Weiseman came from New
- 48:29Speaker 2: York after reading the papers, and it was a Jew,
- 48:32Speaker 2: a dirty Jew, he said. So there's that. Now there
- 48:46Speaker 2: are more allegations, many more allegations, and we'll get into
- 48:50Speaker 2: them that come from certain people that were I guess
- 48:58Speaker 2: you could say, around him time, Joe in particular, and
- 49:05Speaker 2: I showed this to Joe after we got off the
- 49:09Speaker 2: show Wednesday. I remember somebody reached out to me many
- 49:15Speaker 2: years ago, seven years ago to be exact, and told
- 49:21Speaker 2: me that they had written a book about hl Hunt
- 49:25Speaker 2: and the Kennedy assassination, and did I want a copy
- 49:30Speaker 2: to look to look at? Sure, you know seven years ago,
- 49:36Speaker 2: you know whatever. I mean, it's legit. Like I even
- 49:40Speaker 2: showed him the thing. It's like legit, m hm, you know.
- 49:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 2: And the book he did send it to me. It's
- 49:54Speaker 2: right here. HL Hunt Motive and Opportunity, right, and it
- 49:58Speaker 2: was written by Mitchell Whittington as told, it was told
- 50:06Speaker 2: to Mitchell Whittington by John Carrington, who was one of H. L.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Hunt's lawyers. Okay, going back quite a ways, quite a
- 50:19Speaker 2: ways back. And uh also, so there's lots of allegations
- 50:28Speaker 2: in this book and we'll get into him, but we're
- 50:30Speaker 2: going to talk about another individual who was part of
- 50:33Speaker 2: the Hunt cabal assassination cabal, and Joe has got more
- 50:38Speaker 2: information on him, and that would be mister Paul Rothermel,
- 50:43Speaker 2: who I believe was part of Hunt's security team or
- 50:48Speaker 2: was he another lawyer as well?
- 50:50Speaker 7: You know he was actually a lawyer and had a.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Security there you go. Yeah, God, damn.
- 50:58Speaker 7: It, I know he did have Yeah, yeah, yeah, here
- 51:05Speaker 7: you'll be able to post.
- 51:06Speaker 6: Him, right, Roger, I am, yes, he always does.
- 51:17Speaker 7: And I gotta give a shout out to Roger because
- 51:22Speaker 7: before Rob even messaged me earlier in the week and
- 51:25Speaker 7: said we should do a follow up thing on some
- 51:28Speaker 7: of the right wing people in Dallas. Roger and I
- 51:31Speaker 7: were messaging and he said you should do an article
- 51:34Speaker 7: or an article an episode on the Hunts And when
- 51:40Speaker 7: you sent me that message, I thought like he must
- 51:43Speaker 7: have messaged you too, right, that's yeah, logical, okay, but uh, I.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Combined with the fact that we just had the dude
- 51:56Speaker 2: and we're talking about the far right, Yeah, it makes
- 51:57Speaker 2: sense to do a show about Hunt because we never
- 52:00Speaker 2: had that.
- 52:01Speaker 7: Yeah, and it's hard three hundred and thirty episodes and
- 52:05Speaker 7: to find a person that you have not done a
- 52:09Speaker 7: podcast on. I'm talking you've talked about him, of course,
- 52:14Speaker 7: but not an episode. So we thought it would be interesting.
- 52:17Speaker 7: And thank you Roger for your topic recommendation.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Joe, did you picture these two vacations and can kun
- 52:28Speaker 2: on a sandy beach rubbed lotion on each other? They're
- 52:31Speaker 2: pasty white skin.
- 52:32Speaker 7: Gruber said that Hunt plus Walker vacationed in Mexico shortly
- 52:38Speaker 7: after the assassination. Consider sure, Well, I know of two
- 52:45Speaker 7: people who allegedly might have vacationed in Mexico after the assassination,
- 52:54Speaker 7: and that might have been Lauren Hall and Lawrence Howard,
- 52:58Speaker 7: which I'm sure you've heard that before, right, yes, so
- 53:06Speaker 7: so yeah, I wanted to dig into a little bit
- 53:10Speaker 7: of Paul rothermil Hl's kind of head of security here, and.
- 53:15Speaker 2: I was think, I'm still sick and coughing all over
- 53:18Speaker 2: the place.
- 53:18Speaker 7: So I saw it.
- 53:20Speaker 2: I meeting myself. It's because I'm dying. I will be
- 53:23Speaker 2: back temporarily.
- 53:26Speaker 7: It is okay, sir, It is okay.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Wednesday show. You boys been sick all week, gradually getting
- 53:32Speaker 2: better though, but not very fast. But yeah, well.
- 53:39Speaker 7: You're a trooper. The show definitely must go on. So yes,
- 53:44Speaker 7: there are a ton of allegations regarding Rothermel and that
- 53:51Speaker 7: goes from acquiring the Zapruder film in the hours after
- 53:58Speaker 7: the assassination being in Joe the Apruder Film. Did I
- 54:06Speaker 7: misspeak that.
- 54:07Speaker 2: It sounded like you did uh za Gruger film.
- 54:12Speaker 7: Gruder, Yes, no, Zupruter.
- 54:17Speaker 2: To uh having a TV show McGruder macgrew.
- 54:28Speaker 7: Uh to having a pre assassination meeting with Jack Ruby
- 54:33Speaker 7: and uh Eugene hell Braiding also known as Jim Braiden,
- 54:41Speaker 7: to Marina visiting the Hunt's office in the weeks after
- 54:48Speaker 7: the assassination.
- 54:50Speaker 2: I got that it's in the book.
- 54:53Speaker 7: Oh cool, I don't have any on that synchronicity.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Uh, you want to touch on a real quick because it's.
- 55:03Speaker 7: Still customer.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay. The section in this is mister Hunt and
- 55:08Speaker 2: missus Oswald. This account begins in nineteen sixty three on
- 55:13Speaker 2: a Saturday morning, a short time after the Kennedy assassination.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Now I don't think this is the morning after the assassination,
- 55:21Speaker 2: but maybe the next week. I believe she she probably
- 55:26Speaker 2: would have been living with Martin by then, right, Joe, Yeah,
- 55:30Speaker 2: he may have even taken her.
- 55:32Speaker 7: It happened. She moved in the I believe the twenty
- 55:36Speaker 7: ninth or thirtieth of November. Obviously he was killed on
- 55:39Speaker 7: the twenty fourth, So that's aws in a week.
- 55:41Speaker 2: And you know, when we did the Martin Show, we
- 55:43Speaker 2: did find documents saying that he had taken her around
- 55:47Speaker 2: to a bunch of a bunch of banks to open
- 55:51Speaker 2: joint accounts with her or in her own name, because
- 55:54Speaker 2: she didn't have anything.
- 55:55Speaker 7: Like that one hundred percent.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know where hl Hunt's office was, in
- 56:02Speaker 2: the First Republic Bank building. Okay, so it's not it
- 56:06Speaker 2: wouldn't be odd to see Marina in a bank owned
- 56:11Speaker 2: by hl Hunt. Thank you John loose moose crew, battling
- 56:18Speaker 2: through illness to bring forth JFK Info, fighting the good fight.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Yes we are trying, sir, trying.
- 56:25Speaker 7: Thank you so much. Sehn.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Yes, John, you always rock, so you know. He goes
- 56:30Speaker 2: on to say that the hl Hunt Oil offices were
- 56:32Speaker 2: housed in both the Mercantile National Bank Building and the
- 56:35Speaker 2: Mercantile Securities Building, which together covered the entire eighteen hundred
- 56:40Speaker 2: block of Commerce Street. Now. Hl Hunt also had an
- 56:44Speaker 2: office in the first Republic Bank building as well, which
- 56:48Speaker 2: is where we just saw the video of him walking
- 56:50Speaker 2: through and greeting all the secretaries and all that jazz.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Right up on the seventh floor, a steel connected to
- 57:01Speaker 2: both buildings that we're talking about here on Commerce Street.
- 57:07Speaker 2: A steel door connected the two buildings on the seventh floor,
- 57:11Speaker 2: so and that door was never closed or locked. Hunt
- 57:15Speaker 2: employees were constantly using the door to pass between the
- 57:18Speaker 2: two adjoining buildings, but this could only be accomplished on
- 57:22Speaker 2: the seventh floor. In fact, only three people had a
- 57:27Speaker 2: key to the door. Mister Hunt had one, and executive
- 57:30Speaker 2: with Hunt Oil had another, and I had the third.
- 57:33Speaker 2: That would be John Carrington, who was writing the book.
- 57:37Speaker 2: That morning, mister Hunt instructed me to go to the
- 57:39Speaker 2: Mercantile Bank building as soon as possible and lock the
- 57:41Speaker 2: steel door on the seventh floor. I was then to
- 57:45Speaker 2: check that floor of the Mercantile Bank building to make
- 57:47Speaker 2: sure that no Hunt employee was present. Should I encounter anyone,
- 57:50Speaker 2: I was to instruct them to go home immediately once
- 57:53Speaker 2: that floor was empty. My final assignment was to go
- 57:56Speaker 2: down to the lobby floor by floor and empty the
- 57:58Speaker 2: building out and wait to wait there in the lobby.
- 58:02Speaker 2: If any Hunt employees came to work, I was to
- 58:04Speaker 2: instruct him to turn around and leave and not come
- 58:06Speaker 2: back for the day. Having completed the first two tasks,
- 58:09Speaker 2: I stood in the lobby and waited. There was no
- 58:11Speaker 2: activity for a while until mister Hunt came in around
- 58:15Speaker 2: eight thirty am. I advised him that all his security
- 58:19Speaker 2: requests had been followed to the letter and no Hunt
- 58:21Speaker 2: employee was in either building. Mister Hunt told me that
- 58:26Speaker 2: soon a woman would come into the lobby and I
- 58:29Speaker 2: was not to speak with her or even acknowledge her presence.
- 58:32Speaker 2: And with that he turned and walked to the elevator
- 58:34Speaker 2: and took it upstairs. A bit later, a woman did
- 58:37Speaker 2: in fact walk into the building. She was alone and
- 58:42Speaker 2: wearing a modest dress. I recognized her immediately as Marina Oswald,
- 58:46Speaker 2: the widow of Lee Harvey Oswald. At that time, her
- 58:50Speaker 2: picture was all over the media, papers, magazines, television, and
- 58:53Speaker 2: because of the recent events, she was a very recognizable person.
- 58:57Speaker 2: There's just no question that it was her. We didn't
- 59:00Speaker 2: speak or even glanced at each other. She ignored me
- 59:03Speaker 2: and walked directly to the elevator, pushed the button to seven,
- 59:08Speaker 2: then disappeared inside. I remained in the lobby and to intercept,
- 59:15Speaker 2: and had to intercept two other Hunt employees who were
- 59:17Speaker 2: trying to come to work as I'd been told to do.
- 59:20Speaker 2: I instructed them to leave immediately and not to come
- 59:23Speaker 2: back to work that day, and that they would be
- 59:25Speaker 2: paid for their trouble. About twenty minutes later, I heard
- 59:29Speaker 2: an elevator door open and Marina stepped out. She walked
- 59:32Speaker 2: across the lobby and out of the back exit. This
- 59:35Speaker 2: was in my line of sight, so I watched as
- 59:36Speaker 2: she got into a black automobile with US government license plates.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Once inside, the car drove away. Not long after that,
- 59:45Speaker 2: the elevator opened again, mister Hunt came out. He made
- 59:47Speaker 2: no comment whatsoever on what had taken place upstairs or
- 59:51Speaker 2: who he had met with. Instead, he told me to
- 59:53Speaker 2: go and unlock the door between the two buildings and
- 59:55Speaker 2: take the rest of the day off with pay, which
- 59:57Speaker 2: I did back. I have no way of knowing what
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: floor Marina visited or what her business was in that
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: bank building that Saturday, but it seems more than a
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: coincidence that mister Hunt one of the office is cleared
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: so that whatever he was doing or whoever he was
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: meeting it would be completely private. He had never ever
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: done that before and never ever did it again, while
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: all the time I worked for him, for anyone at
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: the time, HL Hunt's political views were well known, the
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Hunt name had been spread throughout the world, and mini
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: fingers were being pointed at hl Hunt involving the death
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: of John F. Kennedy. So he goes on, you know,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: to wonder why Marina would go to deny ever meeting
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: with hl Hunt. Okay, but this account is mentioned in
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: various places by various people. I mean, why would he
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: lie about it, you know, first of all, and it's
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: not just this guy that said it but his supposition
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: for the visit is very PG low KEI right. And
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: mister Hunt always said that he could give him ten
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: minutes with somebody and he could read them, and if
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: he thought that you were a genuine person, right, then
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: he would help you out, like he flew somebody in.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: There's a story in the book that he flew somebody
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: in for a job interview from Hawaii to Texas, right,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: paid for their airfare, accommodations, everything, brought them all the
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: way from Hawaii, interviewed him within ten minutes, he knew
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: that this was not the guy for the job, okay,
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: So he told the guy, sorry, you're just not a
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: good fit or whatever the case may be. But he
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: told me to cut him a check for six thousand
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: dollars to thank them for their time, and paid for
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: their airfare back to Hawaii, which is something he did
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: on a regular basis. He would very generous to people
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: that he thought were legit and not scam artists. So
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: his analysis of this Marina meeting is that he generally
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: probably wanted to help this poor woman right if he
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: felt that she was in need of it, because you know,
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: there's all this going on in the news you know,
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: she has two small children, no house now, no husband.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: You know, so what he thinks it was was him
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: giving her money, straight cash, just to help her out,
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: and then he wanted to remain anonymous and you know,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: please don't tell anybody type of thing.
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: Well, that would have been interesting, rob because obviously he
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: was a vehemently anti communist, So being Marina coming from Russia,
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: and of course still at that time being under suspicion
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: of having some role that would seem like a stretch
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: for him based on what I think we've learned about him.
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: But still interesting.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean there's allegations that you know, she went
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: there to sleep with him for money, right, which I
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: don't believe.
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: Oh, he was pretty old at that point, and he
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: can get anyone if you want to pay for it. Yeah.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he was seventy one at this point. I mean,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: prolific dude, Coxsmith Shore, fifteen known kids, Yeah, you know,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: multiple wives, big of a miss relationships. I mean, would
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: you just cause you can say you did, Joe.
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: Seems more risk than reward to me.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: I mean, just just ten minutes, Joan, That's all I
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: need here is ten thousand dollars cash.
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: Lady but there were still there were still a lot
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: of speculation that she could have been Communist or had
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: some type of communist communist influence on Hoswald. I don't
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: think you would have risked that, just.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Just my gut reaction from reality. I'm just having a
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: very funny picture in my head about it.
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: Yeah, take that communist bitch.
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: I mean, did you see the secretaries in her office
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: in his office?
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I mean they were all smoke shows.
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: But there's something about that Russian accent, Joe.
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: You can't could he just because you can, so you
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: can say, I don't know, I can't rule it out. No, No,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: it was likely something along those lines whereas innocent thing
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: where you know, you wanted to talk to her, get
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: a sense of her, where she was coming from, and
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: he probably genuinely felt that she could use the help
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: and helped her out and told her don't ever tell
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: anybody please, you know.
- 1:05:44Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I mean it's definitely possible. I don't think
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: it's likely, but you never know with billionaires.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: And we got John Limb back up in here, Oh
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: we do, hold on, Yeah, what's up, John? I wanted
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: to share some sad news. John Pappas Skip Haul's step
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: son who Skip handed the rifle too, passed away at
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: age eighty. He sent me more photos and infoo Skip
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: this week before he passed. Damn. Oh no, huh, well
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: that sucks, that really sucks.
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: M Well, at least you were able to get some
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: more photos and corresponding with him before he passed. I
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: know he's been on the Lauren Hall and Papa's trail,
- 1:06:43Speaker 7: and I know you have and Doug have had photos
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: of of the said rifle allegedly, and I think John
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: correct me if I'm wrong. Was he was to bring
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: it to uh dB Cooper KHN this year or was
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: that last year?
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: I think it's this year, but it was yeah, this
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: past year.
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: Yeah, and I'm guessing it probably didn't happen this past
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: year of course, but uh, I know you mentioned it
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: to us when we spoke last and.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Uh yeah, Congratulaten. By the way, I heard it was
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: a big success and oh like everybody and looking forward
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: to the second book that's coming. Who was Skip? Not
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: where with Skip? Who is Skip? Oh?
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: Really?
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: I did not know this.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna have to have him back on when
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: it when it gets close to coming out, So.
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: That's an easy that's an easy sell.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: You know who was skip.
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: Yeah, that's a great interview, one of my favorites with
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: John len Beck and a great guy.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: And thanks for the infro.
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: John.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: I was wondering if there's any any news coming out
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: of that side of things. But man, yeah, that sucks.
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: Damn you r I p Yeah, So where will the
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: if he had possession of rifle, where would it go
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: to his kids, Papas's.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Kids, John, I'm sorry he might have willed willed it
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: to John. Yeah. You know these old people, John, you
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: got to start talking into like changing their will a
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: little bit, like, hey, look, you're getting old. You know,
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: something could happen anytime. Really mhm. You know you want
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: that rifle to come home someone who's really gonna take
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: care of it and preserve history, or to.
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: A museum that will kind of keep the uh the
- 1:08:46Speaker 7: idea alive. And uh, John, I think he yeah, Uh,
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: being one of the runners of Cooper Kahn would have
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: definitely been a good person to kind of carry that
- 1:09:02Speaker 7: on forward. But sad news, nonetheless. But good to see you, John.
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: We definitely hope to talk to you soon.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: Jfk Back, there is creeping sally out. She's like that
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: picture of the guy creeping out, creeping, creeping out behind
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: the curtain. Back there, do you see it? I that's
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: the skateboard. Oh, the lonegoming podcast skateboard. Wow, one of one,
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: A one of one. Hang on for a second, folks,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: Hold tight, it's been a while. Hold on, be right back,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: hold the phone.
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: Rob was uh a big skateboarder back in the day.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: So all right, m everybody's gonna freak the f out
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: when they check this thing out. Joe, all right, let's
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: see here. Okay, it's actually a skateboard deck. This is
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: grip tape. You see who that is, right of course?
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: John F. Kennedy, Young, John F. Kennedy swinging dick, John F. Kennedy, Right, yeah, oh,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: big bad Bob custom grip tape. It's all on the
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: grip tape. That is fire right.
- 1:10:51Speaker 16: And then your f as the kids say this out,
- 1:10:57Speaker 16: whoa m h whoa look at that?
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: Does that me?
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: And you yes, sir, Oh it's no.
- 1:11:07Speaker 7: It's for being awesome. That is awesome. Man, that is
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: so cool.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Yep, that is a one of one.
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: That is awesome.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: So it's not It's not just a creepy dude peeking
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: out behind the curtain back there. It's a badass skateboard
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: deck sally.
- 1:11:27Speaker 7: Yes, Ali loves it and uh.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Keep sweet talking to me. I might will it to you. Yeah,
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: like John Lemack needs to do to the Papas family.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: M hmm.
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: Yeah, Well that is exciting news that, uh he's coming
- 1:11:48Speaker 7: out with the part two because I know the DP community,
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: d B Cooper community has had a pretty good reception
- 1:11:58Speaker 7: to his h uh, his last book, which of course
- 1:12:02Speaker 7: he came on and talked to us about.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: You know, there's a lot of people that come up
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: with suspects out of the blue, right, but Lauren Hall,
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: I mean, seems to be pretty accepted by the dB
- 1:12:18Speaker 7: Cooper community for the most part, which I was surprised by.
- 1:12:23Speaker 7: Of course, fans of this this podcast will know, right,
- 1:12:27Speaker 7: we're fans.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: We're already on the Skip Hall fanwagon.
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: Yeah, but I was really intrigued to see it.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: I believe that he was a badass operator.
- 1:12:39Speaker 7: Dude.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: He gave zero ass about anything. Yeah, yeah, I mean,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: pull off the heist, lived in the right area, crazy enough,
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: crazy enough to do it, smooth enough to do it
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: balls enough to do it?
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I'm looking forward to that. Uh,
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: you made my night, Rob, So thank you. So before
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: we go too far over time, and like to thank
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: the sixty people we have in watching. Right now, let's
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: get into Paul Rothermill.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: What do you say, sir, Let's get into him, Joe,
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: I thought we were already into him.
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: Well, Mike, I.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Just interrupted you slightly for the Marina story.
- 1:13:27Speaker 7: Yeah. Well my power points, yes, which we have you
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: have to get into, which I might have to cut short.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Thank hold on, hold on now, John, damn it, sir,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: you're gonna have to come back on the show. In August,
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: he sat for three hours, and then Applebee's in Newton,
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Kansas was Skip Paul's only living son from his first marriage,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Larry Stay tuned, m So he names his firstborn son
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: after his after his best friend, Larry Lawrence Howard. Of course.
- 1:14:09Speaker 7: That is gonna be great. Yeah wow, and I guess
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: it's this last living son as of pappis right, well,
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: Papas was his step son, I believe.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: Right, yeah yeah, Papa, yeah yeah, well yeah, we can't wait.
- 1:14:30Speaker 7: To have you back on, John for sure, damn straight
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: and some things. On my Lancer presentation, I want to
- 1:14:38Speaker 7: ask you about Skip Paul and being in a Cuban
- 1:14:42Speaker 7: prison and some of the people he met there. But
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: we will get into that and you come back on
- 1:14:49Speaker 7: so Rob. Of course, there has been much speculation that
- 1:14:59Speaker 7: Paul Rother, of course, the head of security for hl HUNT,
- 1:15:03Speaker 7: had pre knowledge the assassination and even alerted the authorities
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: the DPD Criminal Intelligence Division to be specific, that he
- 1:15:18Speaker 7: had pre knowledge that there was going to be a
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: lot of drama on the parade.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: Route, high drama.
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: High drama, and he made this memo or he communicated
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: this on November fourth of nineteen sixty three. But so
- 1:15:41Speaker 7: we're going to get into some of some of that,
- 1:15:45Speaker 7: and I dug into this a little bit. This is
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: actually an FBI memo about his November four, sixty year
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: report that was in October of nineteen seventy five actually
- 1:15:59Speaker 7: and is of course about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: November twenty second, nineteen sixty three, Dallas, Texas Redacted reported
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: that Earl Goat Goals Golz, reporter Dallas Morning News, came
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: into possession of documents three years ago from Paul Rothermel
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: former special agent FBI, so we should stop there. Hl
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: hunts header Security. Paul Rothermel was a former special agent
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: of the FBI. I believe it was for like fifteen
- 1:16:39Speaker 7: to twenty years. I don't think the exact number of
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: years he spent in there, but that's kind of common
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: even today. Right when you hire head of security, you
- 1:16:49Speaker 7: hire former law enforcement and intelligence right. Goal told the
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: Dallas Morning Reporter redacted, which I think is like DL
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: or TLT one informant. He has a document dated November four,
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: sixty three from Rothermel to hl Hunt, now deceased, which
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: states Rothermel was told by a reliable source that there
- 1:17:18Speaker 7: would be a violence along the parade route to be
- 1:17:21Speaker 7: taken by the President.
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: John F.
- 1:17:25Speaker 7: Kennedy. The communication further states Rothermel reported this information to
- 1:17:32Speaker 7: the Dallas Police Department and the FBI. Redacted. Again. I
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: think the informant name reported Goals, has over the years
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: written stories of possible conspiratorial plots to assassinate the president
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: that Goals will, if the story is written, try to
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: tie in hl Hunt into gathering information about the upcoming
- 1:17:58Speaker 7: visit of the president. The informant had no information when
- 1:18:03Speaker 7: Rothermel supposedly reported this information to the DPD or FBI,
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: nor information as to the identity of Ruthermell's reliable source.
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: So we're going to kind of go chronologically here as
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: the FBI puts this together. Goals is of the opinion,
- 1:18:24Speaker 7: although neither proven, that hl Hunt made contributions to the
- 1:18:27Speaker 7: John Bird Society in California, who in turn were allegedly
- 1:18:31Speaker 7: financing trained assassins, including an individual by the name of
- 1:18:36Speaker 7: Eugene Brady or possibly Brady, or Eugene Hale Braden or
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: Jim Braden, who of course was from California, rob who
- 1:18:50Speaker 7: was alleged who had visited mister Hunt a few days
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: before the assassination. Informant redacted stated said he would attempt
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: to ascertain if Goals writes the story including the above information,
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: and Informant redacted speculated that if the story is written,
- 1:19:09Speaker 7: it will possibly appear in the Dallas Morning News, and
- 1:19:12Speaker 7: it did. Review of the Dallas indices and all indicated
- 1:19:18Speaker 7: references fails to disclose any record of Rothermil having furnished
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: information to the effect that there will be violence along
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: the parade route. So the FBI is saying we don't
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: have any information that Rothermill gave us this you know
- 1:19:36Speaker 7: this heads up, nor has any information been located in
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: the DPD files to substantiate any of the above information.
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: Dallas will promptly interview former Special Agent of the FBI
- 1:19:55Speaker 7: Rothermel after October nineteen seventy five in this regard, and
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: will be noted that Rothermill was redacted of the Dallas office,
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: which is interesting because that peaked my attention.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Here.
- 1:20:11Speaker 7: It will be noted that in nineteen sixty three, Rothermil,
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: the header security for chel Hunt, was redacted of the
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: Dallas office. So what does this mean? Well, let's go
- 1:20:27Speaker 7: to our cursive weekly learning session here as we prepare
- 1:20:34Speaker 7: for the upcoming releases. Special Agent in charge of out
- 1:20:41Speaker 7: of town on This is where I don't know what
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: it means. Is why I like to include the chat
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: and you on this on kind of informant. I was
- 1:21:02Speaker 7: kind of able to glean confidential right here. Plus DL,
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: which I believe was the code for the informant is
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: waiting until something two handled. Again, it doesn't make sense,
- 1:21:23Speaker 7: but I wanted to get people's take here because I'm
- 1:21:30Speaker 7: working on my cursive skills here. But It's interesting that
- 1:21:36Speaker 7: this is handwritten at the bottom of the redacted area here,
- 1:21:43Speaker 7: so I think this is referring to this Again, that
- 1:21:46Speaker 7: is also a kind of speculation. So if anyone in
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: the chat wants to give a shot and atfering this,
- 1:22:01Speaker 7: please put it in the comments and let us know. So.
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: Of course, the main point being is that rother Mill
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: was a former FBI agent, and so shortly after there's
- 1:22:19Speaker 7: another FBI report on Rothermel regarding this warning, and in
- 1:22:27Speaker 7: close for information of the Bureau are two copies of
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: FD three or two, probably three or two reports reflecting
- 1:22:35Speaker 7: interview with Paul Marion Rothermel Junior ten thirty seventy five
- 1:22:42Speaker 7: in Dallas, Texas. Rothermel two four six Little Creek Drive, Richardson,
- 1:22:50Speaker 7: Texas provided the FBI office with the following information. He advised.
- 1:22:57Speaker 7: During November sixty three, he was employed as a security
- 1:23:00Speaker 7: advisor for hl Hunt and Hunt Oil Company in Dallas, Texas.
- 1:23:04Speaker 7: On November fourth, nineteen sixty three, he prepared an inter
- 1:23:09Speaker 7: office memorandum to hl Hunt and other key Hunt executives
- 1:23:13Speaker 7: stating was possible an incident might occur during the proposed
- 1:23:19Speaker 7: visit of President John F. Kennedy to Dallas in late
- 1:23:22Speaker 7: November nineteen sixty three. This memorandum was not distributed to
- 1:23:27Speaker 7: the FBI, of course they will say that, or any
- 1:23:31Speaker 7: aside individuals other than Hunt employees, and was intended for
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: the internal use of that organization. This memorandum was prepared
- 1:23:43Speaker 7: as a result of rother Mill's conversations with members of
- 1:23:46Speaker 7: the Dallas Police Department Intelligence Division and his own assessment
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: of the political climate in Dallas during nineteen sixty three.
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: Rother Mill had concluded it was possible an incident such
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: as a protest demonstration, might take place during Kennedy's visit
- 1:24:06Speaker 7: to Dallas. Rothermel stated that this period of time, some
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: Hunt Oil Company executives were politically conservative and thus in
- 1:24:15Speaker 7: opposition to JFK's programs were intended oh His memorandum was
- 1:24:29Speaker 7: intended to inform these individuals of the possible occurrence of
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: an incident so that they would not participate in any
- 1:24:36Speaker 7: anti Kennedy activities that would later prove to be an
- 1:24:40Speaker 7: embarrassment for of course, to Oil. Rothermel stated he had
- 1:24:46Speaker 7: no indication there would be an attempt on Kennedy's life
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: and he would not and he or he would have
- 1:24:52Speaker 7: notified the proper authorities, including the FBI, of course, being
- 1:24:56Speaker 7: an FBI former special agent, that seems kind of logical.
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: But FBI document a couple of days later, Rothermill actually
- 1:25:16Speaker 7: advised and gave the FBI his memorandum. He gave on
- 1:25:21Speaker 7: November fourth, sixty three to the FBI, of course, like
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: two weeks before JFK. And this is what Rothermill says
- 1:25:33Speaker 7: his memo internally to HL hunts Oil said on November nineteenth,
- 1:25:42Speaker 7: LBJ will be in Dallas for a short period and
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: he will then go on to San Antonio. On November
- 1:25:49Speaker 7: twenty second, Johnson and Kennedy returned to Dallas, where a
- 1:25:54Speaker 7: parade is planned for them. They have been unconfirmed reports
- 1:25:59Speaker 7: of possible violence during this parade. The FBI and Police
- 1:26:04Speaker 7: Department each have planted an informant in the General Walker
- 1:26:09Speaker 7: Group here in Dallas interesting as well as the North
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: Texas State Group. The North Texas State Group informat is
- 1:26:20Speaker 7: reporting information that would indicate that the group may be
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: planning an incident. There is another report from a left
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: wing group that an incident will occur with the knowledge
- 1:26:32Speaker 7: of the president, whereby the left wingers will start the
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: incident in hopes of dragging the right wing groups or
- 1:26:43Speaker 7: individuals into the conflict and of course creating press. The
- 1:26:50Speaker 7: talk is that the incident involving Adlai Stevenson, which of
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: course we know been a couple of weeks before, and
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: of which Lee and Michael Payne attended that John Bird
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: Society meeting it might have been the day before, that
- 1:27:13Speaker 7: made the president administration hopeful and that they can get
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: the same thing to happen to Kennedy. It could reassure
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: his re election. So they're kind of saying, like a
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: false flag to indict the right wing will help Kennedy's
- 1:27:29Speaker 7: reelection chances. I don't know what to make of that quote.
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: The above information comes from a reliable informant, and while
- 1:27:39Speaker 7: it is in the hands of law enforcement agencies, there
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: is no publicity about it. Again, this is Rothermel memo
- 1:27:47Speaker 7: to Internal Hunt employees right about eighteen days before the assassination.
- 1:27:55Speaker 7: If an incident were to occur, the true story of
- 1:27:58Speaker 7: of who perpetuated it would never come out. That is
- 1:28:04Speaker 7: a weird statement. I don't get that, But I'm going
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: to continue a little long a little more here. I
- 1:28:13Speaker 7: have thought about the problem and I am wondering if
- 1:28:15Speaker 7: a few letters to the editor might be a good
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: way of pre exposing this, in fact, if there is
- 1:28:23Speaker 7: a planned incident. Rothermill stated after reading the above memorandum
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: that it now appears he made the document more forceful
- 1:28:32Speaker 7: than he had recalled. So again this says what seventy
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: seven so it's almost fifteen years after the assassination. He advised,
- 1:28:46Speaker 7: it is his recollection that there was indication of violence
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: during the Kennedy's visit and that time and at that time,
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: and the information concerning the FBI and Police Department informant
- 1:28:59Speaker 7: was his own conclusion. Rothermill again advised it was the
- 1:29:03Speaker 7: purpose of this memorandum to dissuade hl Hunt and other
- 1:29:09Speaker 7: employees of hl Hunt Oil Company from becoming involved in
- 1:29:15Speaker 7: the anti candidate activities during the presidential visit. Okay, a
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: lot of unpack here. So if you're a billionaire, the
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: richest man in the world, right is your head of
- 1:29:32Speaker 7: security pretty gangster and connected.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Should be.
- 1:29:39Speaker 7: He is saying, I predict violence, and I don't want
- 1:29:44Speaker 7: and you hl Hunt or any executives of the Hunt
- 1:29:48Speaker 7: Oil Company going near this. That is what I would
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: want my head of security to say, I don't necessarily
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: view that as shitty, although he doesn't give his sources,
- 1:30:08Speaker 7: but he seems to be in touch.
- 1:30:10Speaker 17: What are your thoughts, Well, yeah, of course he's still
- 1:30:14Speaker 17: gonna have friends in the FBI who he talks to
- 1:30:20Speaker 17: and gets information from, as well as local pd is probably.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: Beings that they have to work with them so often
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: on various things as well when it comes to you know,
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: God knows what appearances, you know, just normal course of business.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: You know, everybody knows who hl Hunt is. Everybody knows,
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: you know, how rich he is and how powerful he is.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: And he lives in your town, you know, so you're
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: gonna have friends in high places in the city government,
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: the state government. And as we'll come to find out here,
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: he was able to pick up the phone and call
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: President Linda Johnson anytime he wanted to. And you know what,
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: Johnson came to the phone every time hl Hunt called.
- 1:31:09Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, yeah, And of course that's not necessarily suspicious
- 1:31:17Speaker 7: if you're the richest man in America and you're a
- 1:31:20Speaker 7: politician and he's from your home state and they were friends, like,
- 1:31:26Speaker 7: you're gonna pick up the phone if you have any
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: interest in fundraising ever again, Right.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: You're gonna take there are certain calls you're gonna take,
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: and that's one of them.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: Yes, that's like, that's like, that's like Trump, not you know,
- 1:31:41Speaker 7: taking a call from Elon Musk.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Not saying you're gonna do whatever the guy says to do.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: But you're gonna at least take a call out of respect, yes,
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: because if you don't, if you don't take that call,
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: it could be viewed as twenty thousand things of disrespect. Yeah,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: and once you lose that, I mean, this was the
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: day when people actually cared about their reputations and you know,
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: worked off handshake deals and people's word and ship. Yeah.
- 1:32:13Speaker 7: No, yeah, So it gets even more interesting though, sir.
- 1:32:19Speaker 7: So the next day, after rother Mill sends this internal
- 1:32:27Speaker 7: memo out, Captain Gannaway of the Special Service Bureau, the
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: Criminal Investigation Department of the DPD sends out a memo
- 1:32:41Speaker 7: with a warning that threats are being made from both
- 1:32:48Speaker 7: the right and the left on JFK And they talk
- 1:32:54Speaker 7: about this informant. I guess William Fit returning.
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: That to be heres with Captain wil Fritz Fits.
- 1:33:04Speaker 7: Yeah, but I thought I got confused at first. I
- 1:33:08Speaker 7: to do double take as well. The plans were being
- 1:33:13Speaker 7: made for the coming visit of the president, and he stated,
- 1:33:16Speaker 7: we will drag his JFK's dick into the dirt end
- 1:33:23Speaker 7: of quote. Mm hmmm. He emphasized the group would have
- 1:33:28Speaker 7: well planned demonstrations during the President's visit to Dallas. So
- 1:33:33Speaker 7: very interesting that this is showing up literally the next day.
- 1:33:42Speaker 7: So I'm going to jump a few years ahead here
- 1:33:46Speaker 7: now because we're yapping like six barbers. But this is
- 1:33:52Speaker 7: a CIA memo April sixty eight, Rothermill advising who else
- 1:33:59Speaker 7: but j. Waltimore the domestic contact contact for Dallas the CIA,
- 1:34:09Speaker 7: and it says about Bill Wood, agent for Jim Garrison.
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: And this says around the time of the Garrison investigation.
- 1:34:20Speaker 7: Paul Rothermill, security officer for Hunt Oil Company, advised Jim
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: Moore Jay Waltimore that he had been visited recently by
- 1:34:30Speaker 7: a Bill Wood, who was making investigations in Dallas for
- 1:34:34Speaker 7: New Orleans dis attorney Jim Garrison. Wood was inquiring about
- 1:34:39Speaker 7: the CIA and its operations. According to Rothermill, bill Wood
- 1:34:45Speaker 7: used to work for an individual named claymore Wright, publisher
- 1:34:50Speaker 7: of the Houston Tribune. Rothermill said Hood went to work
- 1:34:56Speaker 7: for Jim Garrison under the name of Bill Boxley. Was
- 1:35:03Speaker 7: that his real name? That I didn't realize that. Rother
- 1:35:12Speaker 7: Mill also told more that Wood is well known in Houston,
- 1:35:15Speaker 7: that his connection with Garrison is no secret. This is
- 1:35:21Speaker 7: the first that we have heard regarding this matter. I
- 1:35:25Speaker 7: am sure the subject is the same William Clarence Wood Junior,
- 1:35:30Speaker 7: who visited the Houston office early sixty seven, volunteering his services.
- 1:35:36Speaker 7: At that time, he said he was executive VP an
- 1:35:39Speaker 7: editor of the Houston Tribune Publishing Company, a local weekly paper.
- 1:35:45Speaker 7: You may recall that we were impressed with wood sincerity
- 1:35:50Speaker 7: aka you used him. He volunteered he had worked for
- 1:35:54Speaker 7: the agency and that his resignation had been readily accepted
- 1:36:00Speaker 7: because he had developed a drinking problem. He also said
- 1:36:04Speaker 7: he had not consumed and drop the alcohol for nine
- 1:36:08Speaker 7: and a half years, and blah blah blah. We requested
- 1:36:12Speaker 7: a name check clearance, which was received the third of
- 1:36:18Speaker 7: March nineteen fifty seven, followed by an eyes alone in
- 1:36:23Speaker 7: quotation memo tiny help us out here, what does that mean?
- 1:36:27Speaker 7: Containing adverse information? Because of this, we dropped Wood as
- 1:36:32Speaker 7: a potential source. So they're admitting he was a source
- 1:36:37Speaker 7: at some point. We have not heard from him since
- 1:36:41Speaker 7: March seven, sixty seven, the last time he volunteered his services,
- 1:36:46Speaker 7: although we have no contact with the Tribune. The current
- 1:36:49Speaker 7: editor of the paper, Harold Pyle, is reported to be
- 1:36:53Speaker 7: an exceptionally fine individual. Translation is probably a source that
- 1:37:00Speaker 7: I'm adding that there, guys. He retired from the Chronicle
- 1:37:04Speaker 7: many years joined the Tribune. J Walton Moore says Rothermill
- 1:37:09Speaker 7: has nothing more to add regarding Wood. If there is
- 1:37:14Speaker 7: need for details regarding wood separation from the Tribune, we
- 1:37:17Speaker 7: believe it will be possible to obtain the information discreetly. Yes,
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: because the current editor is also your asset, is my
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: take on that. So there's been a lot of speculation
- 1:37:35Speaker 7: online that I was reading Rob was rother Mill cia.
- 1:37:42Speaker 7: I'm not ready to go there, but I think this
- 1:37:46Speaker 7: document lays out a pretty good case that he's probably
- 1:37:52Speaker 7: an asset.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: Of some type right, which is not out of the
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: realm of possibility, given how close he is to one
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: of the richest men in the world.
- 1:38:04Speaker 7: And a former FBI agent as well specialations. So you
- 1:38:07Speaker 7: think he might not like be a complete trader, but
- 1:38:11Speaker 7: he might give some information talk to Jay Walton Moore.
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: You know what I mean, like if great information?
- 1:38:17Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly, and yeah, so that is fascinating. And I
- 1:38:25Speaker 7: just had one or two things here. More so, I
- 1:38:33Speaker 7: did find in the War Commission. This is Commission Exhibit
- 1:38:39Speaker 7: twenty two and seventy Jesus Christ of Connie Travel. And
- 1:38:49Speaker 7: you might not know the name as I mentioned it, Rob,
- 1:38:52Speaker 7: but you will recognize her circumstances when I read this.
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: So.
- 1:39:03Speaker 7: In April sixty three, she and a group of seniors
- 1:39:06Speaker 7: from University of Texas came to Denton in connection with
- 1:39:12Speaker 7: the promotion of a best show. Sorry it's hard to
- 1:39:17Speaker 7: read if I'm starting. They stayed at the Adolphus Hotel
- 1:39:22Speaker 7: across from the Carousel Club and had a party at
- 1:39:25Speaker 7: the Carousel Club. Of course, oh by Jack Ruby. She
- 1:39:29Speaker 7: met Jack Ruby at that time and had a lengthy
- 1:39:35Speaker 7: conversation with him. She graduated from the University of Texas
- 1:39:38Speaker 7: and returning to Dallas from her home to try and
- 1:39:43Speaker 7: secure employment. Rob this is the girl that was allegedly
- 1:39:47Speaker 7: taken to H. L. Hunt's office with Ruby. Yes, this
- 1:39:55Speaker 7: was about the middle of November sixty three. She sought
- 1:39:57Speaker 7: employment for two or three days and then called Ruby
- 1:40:01Speaker 7: to see if he needed an employee. Ruby said, I'm
- 1:40:05Speaker 7: only interested in you if you can show your goods. Teaks,
- 1:40:11Speaker 7: that is not part of the document. Guys, now, I
- 1:40:14Speaker 7: probably more sorry. That's ed Lib there. At this time
- 1:40:20Speaker 7: he tried to get her to go into show business,
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: which she declined to do. She thought perhaps he can
- 1:40:26Speaker 7: employ her temporarily as a hat check girl right hat
- 1:40:30Speaker 7: co check, or in some capacity while she was trying
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: to find a job in her own line of work.
- 1:40:39Speaker 7: About November twentieth, nineteen sixty three, that would be the Wednesday,
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: she called Ruby and told him she had an appointment
- 1:40:46Speaker 7: with Lamar Hunt, which would be hl Hunt's son of
- 1:40:51Speaker 7: who whom the Lamar Hunt NFL or AFC Trophy trophy
- 1:40:56Speaker 7: is named after her, a prominent oilman in Dallas. She
- 1:41:01Speaker 7: called and inasmuch as she hoped that oilment or that
- 1:41:10Speaker 7: Ruby might have a personal acquaintance with mister Hunt, Ruby
- 1:41:15Speaker 7: came out to her apartment on November twenty first, sixty three,
- 1:41:19Speaker 7: and they again discussed possible ideas for her to secure employment,
- 1:41:24Speaker 7: and he drove her down to the offices of office
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: of Lamar Hunt. She was with Ruby from about eleven
- 1:41:32Speaker 7: am to one pm, and it was on the day
- 1:41:35Speaker 7: before the President was assassinated. On the way downtown, he
- 1:41:40Speaker 7: stopped at the Merchant State Bank on Ross Avenue for
- 1:41:45Speaker 7: a few minutes. She had not heard or seen Ruby since.
- 1:41:51Speaker 7: Miss Trammel stated that Lee Harvey Oswald was not known
- 1:41:54Speaker 7: to her and she had no knowledge of any association
- 1:41:57Speaker 7: with Ruby and Oswalt and blah blah blah. So I
- 1:42:05Speaker 7: didn't know that was in the warrant commission. But I've
- 1:42:07Speaker 7: heard that story before of the girl the stripper that
- 1:42:13Speaker 7: didn't want to be a stripper, right that Jack Ruby
- 1:42:17Speaker 7: took to Hunt's office to try to get a job
- 1:42:19Speaker 7: for her.
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: Very nice of him.
- 1:42:26Speaker 7: Hey, he's a good guy. He's a good guy.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: I just wanted to eat her and stuff.
- 1:42:36Speaker 7: I have a funny picture on that later, but since
- 1:42:39Speaker 7: I'm running out of time. Of course, Rob there is
- 1:42:46Speaker 7: the dear mister Hunt letter.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: Yes, and this is it, and it is.
- 1:42:54Speaker 7: Dated November eighth, nineteen sixty three, and I believe it
- 1:42:59Speaker 7: was is found by Penn Jones, Junior, senior whatever, junior Hohova.
- 1:43:13Speaker 7: And of course there's been a lot of speculation. Was
- 1:43:17Speaker 7: this mister Ahel Hunt was this Lamar Hunt? Was this E.
- 1:43:21Speaker 7: Howard Hunt? Was that that guy hurt in North Carolina?
- 1:43:26Speaker 7: But this letter did not get discovered until seventy seven.
- 1:43:35Speaker 7: I believe, Yeah, I could be slightly off. So, I mean,
- 1:43:40Speaker 7: they had all of Oswalt's letters and shit, you know
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: what I mean. So this, unless it's a big cover
- 1:43:46Speaker 7: up it, it would be a stretch for it to
- 1:43:52Speaker 7: be randomly found then.
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: But I have no idea where this letter was found.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: Do you have any idea where the evidence of this letter?
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: It's in the book, So I'm looking now, Hold on,
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: Hold on a second.
- 1:44:10Speaker 7: Apparently Penn Jones said it was given to him a
- 1:44:13Speaker 7: while ago, but he didn't publish it for a long
- 1:44:19Speaker 7: time because he didn't know or this, or that there
- 1:44:22Speaker 7: was handwriting experts, uh analysis gone on with this. I
- 1:44:29Speaker 7: believe the HSCA did some stuff too on it, and
- 1:44:31Speaker 7: they actually one of the handwriting experts said, yeah, that's
- 1:44:35Speaker 7: kind of Lee Harveyalswalt's uh penmanship. But it's hard to
- 1:44:43Speaker 7: imagine a situation where poor old Lee was writing a
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: letter to any of these.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: But here's what here's what Carrington has to say about it.
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: Sure this letter showed up in our inter office mail
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: system after the assassination, and that in and of itself
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: wasn't peculiar. The nineteen sixties was a more innocent age.
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: People will find the stories in this book of getting
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: on an airplane with a briefcase full of money or
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: using an airline ticket in someone else's name to be
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: altogether unbelievable, but in reality, the idea of security was
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: nothing even close to what it is today. By that
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: same token, people will often drop off an envelope at
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: the front and desk of Hunt Oil and it would
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: get put into the mail system for delivery to the
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: address e and it could take several days or even
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: weeks to reach the person that was intended to, depending
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: upon the volume and efficiency of the interoffice mail delivery system.
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: That is exactly how the dear mister Hunt letter came in,
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: and since it did in fact involved mister Hunt and
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: did in fact suggest a meeting with Oswald, we elected
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: to turn it over to the FBI and never saw
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: it again. In private, mister Hunt did raise the question
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: as to whether Lee Harvey Oswald could be a lifeline listener,
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: something that I think might have been a concern for him.
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: This letter has become legendary over the years. Some say
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: it came from an anonymous source, or from Mexico, or
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: from this person or that person. It has been said
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: that it was definitely written by Oswald because on one
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: particular curly queue on a letter, or that it couldn't
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: have been written by Oswald because of another particular curlyque
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: on another letter. Personally, I have no idea whether it
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: was written by Oswald or not. I only know that
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: it showed up in our office and we gave it
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: to the FBI, and what they did with it or
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: how they funneled it to whoever, is something that I
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: have no idea about. So he is confirming that this
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: letter did come in to the Hunt offices at some
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: point point after the assassinate or I know it's dated
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: November eighth, but he says they weren't nobody realized ye
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: had assassination.
- 1:47:10Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm sure I'm listen, he runs
- 1:47:15Speaker 7: the biggest oil business in Texas. I'm sure he gets
- 1:47:18Speaker 7: a ton of job requests. And we know for a
- 1:47:21Speaker 7: fact that Lee was applying for jobs all over time. Right, So, uh,
- 1:47:30Speaker 7: even if it was from Oswalt doesn't necessarily mean anything solatious.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: And go ahead and read it one time, Joe, so
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: everybody can hear it.
- 1:47:43Speaker 7: I'm sorry, I gotta read it. Okay, Yeah, that's a
- 1:47:47Speaker 7: cursive so we will go into our cursive exercises here.
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: That aka Rob might have to read this.
- 1:47:56Speaker 7: I am asking only for information on suggesting that we
- 1:48:02Speaker 7: discussed where you're fired.
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: All right, let me read it. I would like information
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: concerning my position. I am asking only for information. I'm
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: requesting that we discuss the matter fully before any steps
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: are taken by me or anyone else. Thank you, Lee,
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald. Yes, it's very vague, right, very made, but
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: it is interesting, all right? What could it mean? Who
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: the hell knows?
- 1:48:38Speaker 7: Yeah? And like I mentioned, was this to to hl?
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: Was this to Lamar?
- 1:48:43Speaker 7: Was this to E. Howard Hunt? A lot of people
- 1:48:47Speaker 7: have suggested that, uh, this was addressed to eat Howard
- 1:48:53Speaker 7: Hunt and he's asking what should you do next? Type
- 1:48:57Speaker 7: of thing.
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: Carrington's saying it came into the H. L. Hunt offices.
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: So yeah, deally it would have been addressed to either
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: HL Hunt or one of his adult male children. Yeah.
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: Also probably in the same building. Yes, because we have
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: a letter, but we don't have the envelopes, and we
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: don't know which mister Hunt. It could be Bunker Hunt,
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: it could be Lamar Hunt, could be h L. Hunt.
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: It could be Hugh Hunt. It could be Howard Hunt
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: or Caroline. It could be Haroldina.
- 1:49:30Speaker 7: It could be Haroldina. Uh right, well you never know.
- 1:49:35Speaker 7: It could be mister or missus. You never know. Yeah,
- 1:49:40Speaker 7: but but yeah, that's a good point.
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: And u.
- 1:49:45Speaker 7: Uh yeah, I mean there's just a lot of controversy
- 1:49:49Speaker 7: over this potential letter and what it could possibly mean.
- 1:49:54Speaker 7: And I honestly, like, I don't know if.
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: My personal belief is that this letter was not written
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: by Lee Harvey Oswald. To me, that just does not
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: look like his handwriting. It is way too neat. Yeah,
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: and and you were his middle name like that, just
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: signing a letter, he would have said thank you, Lee Oswald.
- 1:50:25Speaker 18: And he was already working at the TSBD then, So,
- 1:50:29Speaker 18: I mean you don't think he's going to be super
- 1:50:31Speaker 18: active on the job search, I mean, like crazy active.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: Well, it doesn't necessarily imply a job search. It just
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: implies that, Okay, I'm in place, what are you wanting
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: to do next?
- 1:50:46Speaker 7: Well, position I think semi implies that position as a
- 1:50:51Speaker 7: job at least.
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: Some job, or literally I'm in place at the place
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: where you told me to get a job at what
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: do I do next?
- 1:51:01Speaker 7: Right, That's why people think it could have been to
- 1:51:03Speaker 7: empower Hunt. Right, That's why people think that. Yes, so,
- 1:51:09Speaker 7: I mean, that's a whole other crazy rabbit hole, but
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: that we'll move on to. But I want to share
- 1:51:18Speaker 7: really quickly the Hunt Oil Company response to this letter.
- 1:51:23Speaker 7: A spokesman for Hunt Oil Company categorically denies that the
- 1:51:27Speaker 7: hl Hunt ever knew, communicated, or ever received communication from
- 1:51:32Speaker 7: Lee Harvey Oswalt. A speculative news report in a local
- 1:51:36Speaker 7: Dallas newspaper had indicated that Oswald allegedly sent a letter
- 1:51:40Speaker 7: to an unidentified mister Hunt in early November sixty three,
- 1:51:44Speaker 7: and inference was made in that story that the mister
- 1:51:47Speaker 7: Hunt referred to might have been hl Hunt. Now, on
- 1:51:50Speaker 7: the basis of the speculative story, local broadcasts and at
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: least one national news magazine have continued to report that
- 1:51:58Speaker 7: hl Hunt may have been may have received such a letter.
- 1:52:02Speaker 7: It is highly prejudicial to assume, with absolutely no supporting evidence,
- 1:52:06Speaker 7: that mister Hunt and the alleged letter refers to the
- 1:52:10Speaker 7: late hl Hunt. Such ubstantiated slurs against a man who
- 1:52:15Speaker 7: has deceased and can no longer defend himself as shameful.
- 1:52:20Speaker 7: A public or private apology has been requested from the
- 1:52:24Speaker 7: newspaper which printed the story initially.
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: Roger that night, what do you say on screen?
- 1:52:38Speaker 7: I have the I have the documentary.
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: But his mailbox was empty in the movie, implying you know,
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: this letter wasn't in there that maybe l O L.
- 1:52:54Speaker 7: Yes, thank you, sir. This is from one of his sons,
- 1:52:59Speaker 7: hl Hunts songs, one of the one of the many,
- 1:53:03Speaker 7: one of the many. To the best of our knowledge,
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: hl Hunt never met mister George de moorn Shield nor
- 1:53:11Speaker 7: had any business dealings with him whatsoever. So I guess
- 1:53:14Speaker 7: one of these allegations came from demorn Shield and by
- 1:53:19Speaker 7: extension William Altman's.
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: Well we talked about that Wednesday night.
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, synchronicity, sir, Yeah, that's why I included this.
- 1:53:28Speaker 7: Any allegation by all means that hld Hunt was involved
- 1:53:32Speaker 7: with demorn Shield, who was also an oil man, or
- 1:53:35Speaker 7: oswalt In any way our figments of a strained and
- 1:53:40Speaker 7: distorted imagination. It is ludicrous to state that hl Hunt
- 1:53:45Speaker 7: had anything to do with the assassination of JFK. Missus H. L.
- 1:53:50Speaker 7: Hunt Well, one of the three denies categorically that Demorin
- 1:53:55Speaker 7: Shield was ever in the Hunt home for any reason whatsoever.
- 1:53:58Speaker 7: I guess George said that at some point the claim
- 1:54:03Speaker 7: that de Mornshield was a friend of HL Hunt is
- 1:54:05Speaker 7: totally false. Records of Hunts and they did keep really
- 1:54:09Speaker 7: good records, rob As because they did find the Rothermill
- 1:54:14Speaker 7: internal memo right warning of possible violence on the parade
- 1:54:20Speaker 7: route and this letter. They really did. We saw the
- 1:54:24Speaker 7: typists they had there. They really took great records. From
- 1:54:28Speaker 7: what I could tell, records of the Hunt family bear
- 1:54:32Speaker 7: evidence to this fact that demarchiald name never appealed appeared
- 1:54:36Speaker 7: on any of these records. It has been publicly reported
- 1:54:39Speaker 7: that de Moornshield had a history of mental problems. If
- 1:54:42Speaker 7: in fact Demornshield ever claimed to have any relationship with H. L. Hunt,
- 1:54:46Speaker 7: those claims must be viewed accordingly. It is easy to
- 1:54:51Speaker 7: generate publicity publicity over the grave of a dead man
- 1:54:55Speaker 7: who was no longer able to defend himself. Mister Altman
- 1:54:58Speaker 7: seems to be an expert. The family of HL Hunt
- 1:55:04Speaker 7: refuses to be savaged by Altman's who attempts to discredit
- 1:55:07Speaker 7: the memory of HL Hunt by vicious inn window and
- 1:55:11Speaker 7: unsubstantiated charges. Oh yeah, crazy right, Yeah, So I mean,
- 1:55:23Speaker 7: I I'm not sure if the Hunt letter was written
- 1:55:26Speaker 7: by Oswald. I lean towards the no, and if I do,
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: and if it was, I don't think there's anything particularly.
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: It's so vague it can never mean anything, right.
- 1:55:42Speaker 7: Right, So yeah, some cool stuff on Rothermill and uh uh,
- 1:55:51Speaker 7: you know, we went through the his warning internally and
- 1:55:55Speaker 7: then the DPD remember the next day the h mister
- 1:56:00Speaker 7: dear mister Hunt letter. A lot of allegations surrounding the Hunts,
- 1:56:06Speaker 7: but which ones are true?
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: Yeah, when you're buried, folks don't give a fuck, you
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. So let's move on to another
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: Carrington story here, Joe, are you ready for this one?
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: That's this is under the section the murder of Lee
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald. Okay, Saturday afternoon, November twenty third, the nation
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: was in shock over the death of the president. Late
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: that afternoon, I got a call from a lady who
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: did cleaning and ironing for my family. She said that
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: her husband had been arrested for a DWI, and she
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: asked me to come get him out of jail so
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: that he could come home. Before I could leave, the
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: phone rang again. It was around five thirty pm or so.
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: When I picked it up. Mister Hunt asked me to
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: go down to the police station and check out what
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: kind of security, if any of, they had around Lee
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald. I never questioned anything that mister Hunt asked
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: me to do, and with the DWI case, I had
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: a perfect excuse to be in and around the police station.
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: Bonding someone out of a DUI required maneuvering back and
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: forth between the police station and the courthouse. So I
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: went back and forth there three separate times. No one
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: questioned me, checked my credentials, searched my briefcase, or took
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: any special security measures. In fact, on one of my visits,
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: I pushed the elevator button and went it opened up.
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: God damn. Captain Will Fritz was standing there with Lee
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald and handcuffs. Obviously he was being moved around
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: for questioning or some other reason. Fritz recognized me and
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: I said, meet the son of a bit. You killed
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: the president. Lucky me, It's my lucky day. I had
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: seen Oswald before, so I made no comment. When I
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: finished with the DWI, I went home and phoned mister
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: Hunt around midnight. He had been very specific in his
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: instructions that I was to call him no matter what
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: time it was. I told him about my experience at
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: the police station, and I assured him that there was
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: no extraordinary security around Oswald at all. Mister Hunt then
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: asked me to contact Joe Savello, the head of the
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: Dallas organized crime family, and asked him to stop buying
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: Mount Vernon because mister Hunt wanted to talk to him,
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: and Savello did so at about six a m. Sunday morning.
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: Later that morning, I was sitting at the First Baptist
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: Church of Dallas listening to a sermon by doctor Chriswell
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: when someone walked over and handed him a piece of paper.
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: He opened it, read it, and after a pause, sombrely announced, Lee,
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald has just been shot. I had a sick
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: feeling in the pit of my stomach and thought about
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: my visit to the jail to check on security and
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: my contacting Joseph Ello. I'd later learned the details. At
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: eleven twenty one am Oswald was being transferred to the
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: County Jail by an armored car. As he was taken
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: through the basement of the police station, Dallas club owner
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: Jack Ruby pulled out a gun and shot him in
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: the gut. Two hours later, Oswald was died at Parkland Hospital,
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: the same facility President Kennedy had had taken to and
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: died two days earlier. There have been many different theories
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: as to what prompted Ruby to shoot Oswald. What I
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: know about Ruby was that he was a wanna be
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: gangster that ran a burlesque club in Dallas. He badly
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: wanted to be someone important, but never was. Mister Hunt
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: was aware of who Jack Ruby was, but to my knowledge,
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: they'd never met. I doubt mister Hunt ever had any
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: private business whatsoever with Jack Ruby. I certainly never saw
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: Ruby at the Hunt offices, and I doubt mister Hunt
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: would ever set foot in the Carousel Club. I went
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: there a number of times, but strictly on business. When
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: we had an important client in from out of town,
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: I would rint him the presidential suite at the Adolphice
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: Hotel in downtown Dallas and then take him over across
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: the street to the Carousel Club for an evening of entertainment.
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: The dancers there were pretty much all call girls, so
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: the client could pick out what he liked and take
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: her back to the hotel for a date. In quotes,
- 2:00:31Speaker 2: I have no idea whether Ruby got a cut of
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: the money or not, but it wouldn't surprise me a
- 2:00:36Speaker 2: bit if he did. That's just the kind of guy
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: that I believe Jack Ruby was, and I don't doubt
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: he was horn out. His girls heard that allegation before.
- 2:00:48Speaker 7: Yeah, and maybe to the people that couldn't afford the
- 2:00:51Speaker 7: a Dolphice they went to the Six Flags Motel.
- 2:00:55Speaker 2: Yeah, there is one curious footnote to the murder of Oswald. However, Now,
- 2:01:00Speaker 2: when Jack Ruby was taken into custody and strip searched,
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: police found two transcripts of HL Hunt's Lifeline radio program
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: in his pocket. During Ruby's incarceration, Hunt wanted to keep
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: up with all of his activities. Who sent him mail,
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: who he contacted, who visited him in jail. I received
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: regular reports that during that time, and passer was on
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: to mister Hunt. Oddly enough, in the eyes of the
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: law today, Jack Ruby is considered legally innocent of Oswald's murder,
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: even though the killing was broadcast over a million people.
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: Ribby was tried, convicted, and sentenced to death for the killing,
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: but his lawyers got the conviction overturned. However, based on
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: a couple of legal issues that were associated with the trial.
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: This completely erased the first conviction. But before he could
- 2:01:51Speaker 2: be retried, Ruby developed pneumonia and was admitted to Parkland
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: Hospital in Dallas, and doing some medical test doctors realized
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: he had cancer of the liver, of the lungs in brain,
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: and within three weeks January third, nineteen sixty seven, and
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: an ironic twist to this story, he died in the
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: same hospital that President Kennedy and Oswald had both been
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: taken to and died previously. The official cause of death
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: was listed as a pulmonary embolism secondary to bronchiogenic carcinoma,
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: which is lung cancer. Speaking of Ruby and Oswald, the
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: next section concerning mister Hunt and Joseph Ello based suggest
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: an answer to the question of why Jack Ruby shot
- 2:02:33Speaker 2: Lee Harvey Oswald, but we're not going to go there
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: on this program. If you like it. Took out the
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: book hl Hunt Motive an opportunity. It's not a thick boy,
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: it's a thin one. It's maybe one hundred and sixty
- 2:02:47Speaker 2: or seventy pages of goodness something like that. But yes,
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: thanks to Mitchell for sending this to me seven years ago.
- 2:03:00Speaker 7: Yeah, I saw an interview with him with Currington actually today.
- 2:03:07Speaker 7: Very interesting for sure.
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: Yeah, this, uh the paper they sent in with a book.
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: I told you this Wednesday night, but I think we
- 2:03:18Speaker 2: were already off the air, it says, dear Rob, as
- 2:03:22Speaker 2: we discussed via email, I'm in closing a complimentary copy
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: of the new book h ol Hunt Motive, an opportunity
- 2:03:28Speaker 2: for your perusal. I hope you find it interesting. If
- 2:03:31Speaker 2: you have any questions, please don't hesitate to drop me
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: an email. And if you like me and or John
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: on your show, we'll get that done. I don't know
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: if either one of them are still alive or not.
- 2:03:45Speaker 2: Do we know if Carrington still alive.
- 2:03:48Speaker 7: He was alive as of three or four years ago.
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: He looks a day older than dirt seven years ago.
- 2:03:55Speaker 7: But who's saying you know, Yeah, it's crazy. And I'm
- 2:04:02Speaker 7: glad you mentioned Joe Savello because that's a very that's
- 2:04:06Speaker 7: another thing that's talked about with ahel Hunt and Carrington
- 2:04:10Speaker 7: and how Josepllo who I have this here. So in
- 2:04:16Speaker 7: the early nineteen fifties, Boss Joe Piranio ran the Dallas
- 2:04:22Speaker 7: LaCOSA Nostra. Since nineteen thirty he had controlled bootlegging, gambling bars,
- 2:04:28Speaker 7: and strip joints in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. In
- 2:04:31Speaker 7: fifty six, Piranio committed suicide and his underboss, Josephvello, took
- 2:04:37Speaker 7: over operations. Both Savello and his underboss, so he became
- 2:04:43Speaker 7: the boss and the under boss became.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: Waif.
- 2:04:47Speaker 7: Jack Joe Campezi claimed kinship with New Orleans Lacos Nostra
- 2:04:53Speaker 7: boss Carlos Marcello. Through these Magno Marcello controlled various legal,
- 2:04:58Speaker 7: illegal rackets and vice business in Dallas. Savello had been
- 2:05:04Speaker 7: convicted for a narcotics trafficking in nineteen thirty seven, but
- 2:05:09Speaker 7: after his parole from Leavenworth, I and his associates Joe Campezee,
- 2:05:13Speaker 7: Sam Campeze, John Colletti rose in the ranks of the
- 2:05:16Speaker 7: Dallas Periano family, and Jack Ruby was a frequent visitor
- 2:05:27Speaker 7: to Savello's grocery and Campeze's restaurant. Of course, we know
- 2:05:32Speaker 7: Campeze was one of Ruby's earliest visitor, if not his
- 2:05:35Speaker 7: earliest and so the story goes, Savella was called in
- 2:05:44Speaker 7: the middle of the night on I guess early November
- 2:05:50Speaker 7: twenty fourth, right the early morning hours of the twenty fourth,
- 2:05:54Speaker 7: and he was told HL Haunt wants to see you
- 2:05:58Speaker 7: by current him. And when he arrived at six or
- 2:06:02Speaker 7: seven am in the morning, they had a meeting they
- 2:06:05Speaker 7: don't know what about. And a few hours later, Jack
- 2:06:09Speaker 7: Ruby shoots Oswald and the implication is Savello had something
- 2:06:15Speaker 7: to do with that. Now it's a tough one. I
- 2:06:19Speaker 7: think Ruby was assigned that way before that of Sunday morning,
- 2:06:27Speaker 7: but yeah, yeah, but could he have been maybe reinforced
- 2:06:32Speaker 7: to type it to try and do that? Very possible,
- 2:06:36Speaker 7: but very interesting that he that Carrington essentially says like
- 2:06:44Speaker 7: the boss of the Dallas family wanted to meet with
- 2:06:48Speaker 7: HL Hunt and h L Hunt woke up in the
- 2:06:52Speaker 7: middle of the morning and early morning hours of Sunday
- 2:06:56Speaker 7: to meet with him. And I think Rothermill says something
- 2:07:02Speaker 7: about that too. I don't know if he completely corroborates it,
- 2:07:05Speaker 7: but it's it's fascinating for sure.
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: Definitely definitely all right, folks, we're blowing the tooth.
- 2:07:19Speaker 7: Yeah, well, I had this highlighted earlier, and I couldn't
- 2:07:25Speaker 7: have said it better. Tiny, become a covert operator and
- 2:07:28Speaker 7: join us on Wednesday nights.
- 2:07:32Speaker 2: The link is in the description of this here video.
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: I made it real easy for you now.
- 2:07:40Speaker 7: So but uh, I mean, did hl Hunt have a
- 2:07:45Speaker 7: role in the assassination? I mean I'm not convinced. Did
- 2:07:51Speaker 7: he give money to right wing and Cuban causes? Yes,
- 2:07:57Speaker 7: if he did, did he know that that was directly
- 2:07:59Speaker 7: going towards this mission or operation? I'm not sure, But
- 2:08:07Speaker 7: we know our audience is very educated, and we have
- 2:08:11Speaker 7: given you the facts and you can, of course decide
- 2:08:16Speaker 7: for yourselves, ladies.
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: And for one night and one night only, Joe, we're
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: going to give Dino the night off in our closing.
- 2:08:29Speaker 7: Same Ruby's going to be pissed.
- 2:08:32Speaker 2: No, no, we have another one. Oh, We're just giving
- 2:08:36Speaker 2: Dino the night off tonight. He will be back, but
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: for one one night only. We have a special guest
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: helping us close the show. And his name is Singly.
- 2:08:55Speaker 2: He's the single bullet theory. Singly. You ready for this?
- 2:08:59Speaker 2: Mm hmm Okay, here we go. Once again. Thank you

- 2:09:35Speaker 2: a while. Thanks for hanging out with us. And without

- 2:10:08Speaker 19: say loan good Man?

- 2:10:12Speaker 5: I knew he can do it now.
- 2:10:14Speaker 19: Some people say he's working with the Cubans or the
- 2:10:17Speaker 19: CIA or the mafia. Ho, that's all a big load
- 2:10:21Speaker 19: of horse who and he definitely isn't a part of
- 2:10:25Speaker 19: a secret caball within the US government led by Lynda
- 2:10:27Speaker 19: bas Johnson in order to put him in the President's
- 2:10:30Speaker 19: chair and jumpstart America's a bowman and Vietnam.
- 2:10:32Speaker 2: Wah, what Ruby your kids trying to do what I do?
