- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always I ask
- 0:06Speaker 1: that you join along with me in prayer. And today
- 0:10Speaker 1: it is I keep thinking about our children, and we're
- 0:14Speaker 1: so caught up in stuff. We're so caught up in
- 0:16Speaker 1: what's going on in the world, We're so caught up
- 0:19Speaker 1: with what's going on in our relationships and all of
- 0:23Speaker 1: the stuff that sometimes our children are going by the wayside,
- 0:28Speaker 1: like we've forgotten about them. So I want to pray
- 0:32Speaker 1: about that today. Father, God, in the name of Jesus,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you are the God of compassion, You are the God
- 0:40Speaker 1: of justice, You are the God of generations. We come
- 0:44Speaker 1: before you with heavy hearts today and spirits that are
- 0:48Speaker 1: surging for answers. God crying out, what about the children
- 0:53Speaker 1: in a world too loud with war and worry, with
- 0:57Speaker 1: walls instead of welcome Pauls To remember the smallest voices God,
- 1:03Speaker 1: the ones too often silenced by poverty, burdened by violence, forgotten,
- 1:11Speaker 1: and systems not built for their flourishing. Lord, when we
- 1:15Speaker 1: scroll past stories of pain, abuse, and hunger, remind us
- 1:21Speaker 1: these are not numbers, These are not just social media
- 1:24Speaker 1: postal These are not just voices on the radio or
- 1:27Speaker 1: images we see on TV. These are children, each one
- 1:32Speaker 1: with a name, each one with a dream, each one
- 1:35Speaker 1: your beloved. What about the children, children that have to
- 1:41Speaker 1: walk to school through beer bottles and needles and all
- 1:47Speaker 1: kinds of chaos and terror, and then walk into school
- 1:51Speaker 1: where fear walks the hallways. What about the children and
- 1:57Speaker 1: foster care, the tension centers, repped camps. What about the
- 2:02Speaker 1: children God taught to fight before they're taught to read.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Have we grown so used to injustice and cruelty that
- 2:10Speaker 1: we no longer weep and care? Have we become so
- 2:14Speaker 1: distracted that we forget to protect? Oh? God, awaken our hearts,
- 2:20Speaker 1: unplug our ears. Let the cries of the children echo
- 2:23Speaker 1: through our souls. God, until we cannot help but respond,
- 2:29Speaker 1: Oh God, where there's pain, make us heal us. Where
- 2:31Speaker 1: there's danger, God, make us defend us. Where there's silence,
- 2:35Speaker 1: make us voices and rides like thunder and light, declaring.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Every child is sacred, Every child deserves hope. Every child
- 2:45Speaker 1: carries your image. How and when we ask, what can
- 2:51Speaker 1: I do? Lord? You whisper back, Start where you are, Love, fiercely, give, generously, speak,
- 2:59Speaker 1: bold and never stop asking the hard questions bother God.
- 3:06Speaker 1: In the minium of Jesus, let our hands be your hands.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Let our feet be swift to serve. Our prayers be
- 3:13Speaker 1: more than just words. Who Let our love be action.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Let our love be a fire that refuses to go out.
