- Elaine Scolari: Hello my beautiful tea leaves. I'm Ella, your host, your mom friend, your resident tea enthusiast. And I'm the person who reads you the internet's messiest family drama so you don't have to go digging for it yourself. Here's the thing about Redditz. Every day somebody hosts the worst week of their life and asks a thousand strangers, was I wrong? And every day, those strangers line up to them to tell them exactly how wrong they were. I'm not gonna do that. I'm a mom. Life is already chaotic and I have never once found it useful to be handed a verdict. So instead of telling you who the villain is, I'll give you the read, what's actually going on underneath the story. The dynamic nobody in the comments bothers to name. And because most of these stories aren't about bad people, they're about tired people, scared people, people repeating something they learned at home. And never questioned. And here's the honest reason I do this. Somewhere in every one of these stories is honestly a little piece of somebody I know. Sometimes it's a little piece of me. You read about a woman who can't say no to their family and you think, I do that. You read about a mother who can't let her kid fail and you sit with it for a second longer than you mean to. Nobody arrives at this fully formed. We are all still figuring out how to be a daughter. Partner. Parent person. Other people's mess is just the safest place to practice recognizing your own. So think of this as an advice column with tea on YouTube, Apple, and Spotify. So here's how we do it. Real stories every Monday. Parents and their kids, grandkids and their parents, and all the beautiful mess in between. I read them to you straight from the source. No summaries, no editing them to make My point for me. It's tea of the month, which I'll describe by taste and mood because I'd rather tell you how it feels than sell you a box. And an organization every month to bring real good for women and children. Because sometimes the help somebody actually needs isn't a hot take. It's a phone number. Then we always end by pouring something back into our own cup because we just spent a good thirty to forty minutes in somebody else's and you honestly deserve something too. So this is a soft place to land. Put it on for a while while you fold the laundry or drive home or even hide in your car for ten minutes before you gotta go back inside and be a parent. I get it. Some of these stories are also going to sit heavy. I'm not gonna pretend otherwise but I won't leave you there. We will always come back to the warm part where I let you go just hot cup and other people's chaos. So if you care for a listen, Ella's got the tea. New episode every Monday. Follow along and I'll see you in the next steep.
