- 0:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 0:07Speaker 3: So Died veters to make your way to Australia and
- 0:10Speaker 3: New Zealand next month for a run of shows starting
- 0:12Speaker 3: in Orphand on December the fifth, before heading to christ
- 0:15Speaker 3: Church in Wellington. Then you come over to Australia and
- 0:18Speaker 3: you go through Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney and finishing
- 0:21Speaker 3: Brizzy on December fourteenth.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Not too long to go now, bro, you're packed and
- 0:26Speaker 2: ready to fly, No.
- 0:28Speaker 4: At all, it works, ready to go, but you know
- 0:33Speaker 4: I get ready a couple days before.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yeah. I think I'll wake up two hours before it's
- 0:37Speaker 3: going to be on a plane and chuck some shit
- 0:39Speaker 3: in the bag.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And that's me. Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I think twelve years since you were here last time, mate,
- 0:47Speaker 3: So I guess the biggest question is why have you
- 0:49Speaker 3: neglected us for so long?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Well?
- 0:53Speaker 1: I don't know, to tell you the truth, it hasn't
- 0:55Speaker 1: worked out where we haven't been back to Asia, Southeast
- 0:59Speaker 1: Asia or nothing either, you know Japan, like for some.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Reason that hasn't worked out.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh it's been this long, which is to
- 1:06Speaker 1: me really surprising, right, I had, uh look it up.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I'm like, damn, when was the last time we were there?
- 1:11Speaker 4: And then I had a look like it's been that long?
- 1:13Speaker 2: D Your fans over here a being going batshit crazy.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Let me tell you you get to get a good reception.
- 1:22Speaker 4: I can't wait.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I guess you've sieved a long period of time. Bright,
- 1:26Speaker 3: But what's changed you with Diane Fetus since last time
- 1:29Speaker 3: you around?
- 1:29Speaker 2: You?
- 1:29Speaker 4: Then? Wow? A couple albums?
- 1:34Speaker 1: H I mean we've been doing you know, we've been
- 1:38Speaker 1: super busy recently, so you know, we're definitely ready to
- 1:42Speaker 1: come and play shows.
- 1:43Speaker 4: But uh, yeah, it's been I mean it's been twelve years. Different,
- 1:46Speaker 4: I guess right.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone old, Yeah, look out to day Bry.
- 1:51Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:55Speaker 3: What what delightful traits that you got in store for
- 1:58Speaker 3: Australian fans.
- 1:59Speaker 1: In definitely mixing it up the setlist, trying to make
- 2:03Speaker 1: sure we hit like something from all across you know,
- 2:05Speaker 1: the albums or whatever. You know, we got a new
- 2:07Speaker 1: song out into the Cesspool, we'll definitely play that and
- 2:11Speaker 1: then try to get it, you know, sprightly across the albums.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Definitely trying to you know, have everything in there. Hopefully so.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So yeah, especially since it's been so long, you know,
- 2:22Speaker 1: we don't want to just play all new stuff or anything.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Right, That's good.
- 2:25Speaker 3: That's actually one thing you've got in your favorite And
- 2:27Speaker 3: there's a lot of bands come out of you now
- 2:28Speaker 3: every twelve to eighteen months, and you actually find that
- 2:31Speaker 3: their fans are reluctant to go to their shows because
- 2:33Speaker 3: they're like, well, how are they going to be any different?
- 2:35Speaker 3: They haven't a new album come out, so how's it
- 2:37Speaker 3: going to mean to you?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Guys? They probably don't even remember what you look like.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, we introduce ourselves.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Well, yeah, you're gonna be bringing over two hundred scaboyings
- 2:50Speaker 3: with you made and I've got to ask, like, it's
- 2:52Speaker 3: part of the reason you're bringing them because are the
- 2:54Speaker 3: only other band you can find with the name almost
- 2:56Speaker 3: as expensive as yours.
- 2:58Speaker 1: No, it should be good though. We tour with them
- 3:02Speaker 1: over in the States, so we know it should be good.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Definitely a good show with them, cool guys.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the brutal as fuck, But so I guess it'll
- 3:13Speaker 3: be like it'd be could having someone else similar to
- 3:16Speaker 3: that on the lineup, because you'd see their set and
- 3:18Speaker 3: you'd be like They're.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Not fucking beating me tonight. I'm not going to give you.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Right there you go.
- 3:27Speaker 3: So this is going to be their first time touring
- 3:30Speaker 3: in Australia, So are you going to guide them through that?
- 3:32Speaker 3: And what about things like spiders and drop bands and
- 3:35Speaker 3: all the dangeroushit ere or is it more fun just
- 3:37Speaker 3: sitting back and watching to come.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it's more fun to let them experience it.
- 3:44Speaker 1: That's one thing about Australia though, that it looks a
- 3:46Speaker 1: lot like the States, like more than any other place
- 3:48Speaker 1: in the world. Yeah, Like we're walking down the street,
- 3:52Speaker 1: stores to wait houses, look everything.
- 3:55Speaker 4: It looks really similar to the States, except the people.
- 3:58Speaker 2: It's only different.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 2: You turk poster for this run, that's from the best
- 4:06Speaker 2: I've seen made.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Like it's got a pissed off kangaroo blow in the
- 4:08Speaker 3: back of someone's head off from close range. It's that
- 4:11Speaker 3: violent in a cartoon sort of kind of way that
- 4:14Speaker 3: you can almost picture the kangaroo curb stomp and the
- 4:16Speaker 3: blake straight haf he's finished the job, Like, who's brilliant?
- 4:20Speaker 2: But twisted mind? Did that come from?
- 4:22Speaker 4: That? Was our manager actually, Derek?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we have a shirt, we have a subjected to
- 4:27Speaker 1: a beating shirt where it's the curb stomp thing and
- 4:30Speaker 1: we do, you know, then we change them to the
- 4:31Speaker 1: kangaroo or whatever.
- 4:33Speaker 4: That was his idea.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Though it's catchy. Oh you look at it, it's just like,
- 4:37Speaker 2: I'm going to hell for liking this. But fuck it's.
- 4:42Speaker 4: That's great.
- 4:44Speaker 3: But you guys to know, like the most pitch that
- 4:46Speaker 3: Dane Feeder show is probably amongst some of the most
- 4:48Speaker 3: gracious in the world.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But what did it look like from stage?
- 4:51Speaker 3: Made I ever start your playing, you look up at
- 4:53Speaker 3: the crowd, you just go, fuck, I hope no one
- 4:55Speaker 3: gets fucked up out there today.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always different. You never no, you know, like
- 5:00Speaker 1: uh usually that's like big festivals or whatever. That's when
- 5:03Speaker 1: you see they're like, oh ship, yeah, it's might get
- 5:06Speaker 1: hurt out there. Usually people get hurt when they fall
- 5:09Speaker 1: over the railing instead of being in the pit.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You know.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah, when security starts grabbing them and dragging him and
- 5:16Speaker 3: they might not happen even there at the front poon
- 5:19Speaker 3: him and it's like that's where that's where the paint.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I love seeing it though. That's amazing when you're playing,
- 5:25Speaker 4: you know, yeah, would.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Be man, you guys and stuff too.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Not really, I mean people do it on their own
- 5:33Speaker 4: all the time.
- 5:34Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:35Speaker 4: We see people are saying all right, back up, back up.
- 5:37Speaker 4: You're like, all right, gool it looks like they're doing it.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I've always wondered what that'll look like on stage would
- 5:41Speaker 3: be like when you're standing in the crowd, you know,
- 5:43Speaker 3: you just get the next person, you see him more
- 5:44Speaker 3: stuff and back. But from you guys on stay, it
- 5:46Speaker 3: looks like just ats just separating and just kind of
- 5:49Speaker 3: like it'd be insane.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it definitely looks cool when they do that. We
- 5:54Speaker 1: don't call for him though, trying to get them to
- 5:56Speaker 1: do it, but uh, a lot of clubs get mad
- 5:58Speaker 1: about that nowadays. I mean have signs like backstage no
- 6:02Speaker 1: walls or death calls and all that stuff.
- 6:04Speaker 3: You know, but they got a backstage so many you
- 6:06Speaker 3: can see him if they'd be out the front of
- 6:08Speaker 3: the crowd and see it, and they'd know the venue
- 6:09Speaker 3: saying that, But it looks like the band guy's not
- 6:12Speaker 3: calling him, but you've been told he's not outy.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Well, you don't want to piss the club off either,
- 6:16Speaker 1: you know, you know you're there for the fans, but
- 6:19Speaker 1: the club is there for a reason, right, so you're
- 6:22Speaker 1: the guy to do what they one.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you've been with Dyne Feeders for twenty five years now,
- 6:28Speaker 3: made up to join in two thousand and one.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So's journey been for you personally?
- 6:33Speaker 4: I mean it's been a blast.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I guess you know, still going so you know, right,
- 6:40Speaker 1: it's wild it has been that long too.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Yeah, when you think about it.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Looking through stuff, right, like, it looks like it was
- 6:49Speaker 3: about three years after you joined, like in two thousand
- 6:51Speaker 3: and four, that you're actually credited with doing any sort
- 6:54Speaker 3: of vocals or backing vocals with the band.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Like, is that because you hadn't sung it all before
- 6:58Speaker 2: you join them? Or was it more confident singing the
- 7:00Speaker 2: segment Indian New Environment.
- 7:02Speaker 1: No, we had we had a you know, I never
- 7:04Speaker 1: did vocals before then, you know, until that moment, but
- 7:08Speaker 1: we had a standalone singer when we had Vince a
- 7:11Speaker 1: long time ago, and uh, basically like we you know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: he was out of the band, and uh when we
- 7:17Speaker 1: started looking for somebody, John was just like, start doing vocals,
- 7:20Speaker 1: see if you can do it, you know, he said,
- 7:22Speaker 1: at least you'll be tight. He's like, le' se if
- 7:23Speaker 1: it sounds good, you know, I'm like, all right, go
- 7:25Speaker 1: and then started doing it and then I Bainley did
- 7:28Speaker 1: it at first, just to make sure we could keep
- 7:30Speaker 1: going without you know, some type of interruption with touring
- 7:34Speaker 1: and all that stuff and uh, and then it was like, Okay,
- 7:37Speaker 1: this isn't bad, you know, So then I started working.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Out, so you actually enjoyed it from the start.
- 7:44Speaker 1: It was just weird at first because I never did
- 7:46Speaker 1: it before. I never even thought about it, you know.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So I'm like, oh shit, all right, I gotta do
- 7:52Speaker 1: it now, I guess right. And it was easy to
- 7:55Speaker 1: do and play at the same time, like I had
- 7:57Speaker 1: that new problem, but it was just something new for me.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and the public expectations, you're, like, before they used
- 8:03Speaker 3: to just sit there and watch you play bass, and
- 8:04Speaker 3: now all of a sudden, yeah, hands and looking up
- 8:06Speaker 3: at your mouth and you're like the fuck.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I think it surprised me, like how much air like
- 8:12Speaker 1: to project your voice while you're playing, you know, pushing
- 8:16Speaker 1: the air out Like I wasn't getting this loud.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I was like, why am I still quiet? You know
- 8:19Speaker 4: when I'm playing my bass.
- 8:20Speaker 1: You know. Then you start figuring it out after a while.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But yeah, it's just pushing the air out while you're
- 8:25Speaker 1: playing doing tays.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It would be like knocking the window out of your
- 8:28Speaker 2: siles if you're not doing it properly.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Right, So I'm used to it now, ye years.
- 8:35Speaker 2: You'd be mat.
- 8:38Speaker 3: We mentioned your most recent album, Making Death, which came
- 8:41Speaker 3: out a couple of years ago. So have you started
- 8:43Speaker 3: thinking about the next one in or are you still
- 8:45Speaker 3: enjoying this album cycle.
- 8:47Speaker 4: No, we're already you know, working on the next one.
- 8:49Speaker 1: But uh, it's mainly a like ideas because we we
- 8:52Speaker 1: did the intero, the Cesspool song, so we concentrated on
- 8:56Speaker 1: that one song to get it done, recorded and completely finished,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, and then all the rest of this stuff
- 9:02Speaker 1: is just a lot like ideas that we'll start doing
- 9:04Speaker 1: once we get home. We have another tour in Europe
- 9:07Speaker 1: after Australia, so once we get home from that, it's
- 9:10Speaker 1: going to be like writing time basically.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, joined this one while oh yeah.
- 9:17Speaker 4: It's time though, Yeah it's time for a new one now.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Shovel, thanks for your time, broad being
- 9:22Speaker 3: a pleasant chat and dry and feed us that. In
- 9:24Speaker 3: Australia with two hundred stab wounds, first they go to
- 9:27Speaker 3: New Zealand December fifteen, Auckland over to Australian eventually, mate,
- 9:31Speaker 3: I do know from the tickets are selling really well.
- 9:33Speaker 3: So if you want to go along and not wait
- 9:35Speaker 3: twelve years the next time, you pleady right,
