- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 184. Can you believe it? Lucas: I know. And you know what? If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, honestly, if today was worth a coffee to you, that's the link — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it really helps keep this show going. No pressure, just if you feel like it. Lucas: Exactly. Okay, so today we're talking about colors. Three simple ones: azul, verde, and rojo. Luna: Oh, I love colors. Let me guess... azul is blue, verde is green, and rojo is red? Lucas: You got it. Listen closely: azul. Say it with me, Luna. Luna: Azul. Lucas: Perfect. Azul. Like the sky. El cielo es azul. Luna: El cielo es azul. The sky is blue. That's easy. Lucas: Good. Now verde. Verde. Luna: Verde. Lucas: Yes. El pasto es verde. The grass is green. Luna: El pasto es verde. I can picture that. Lucas: And rojo. Rojo. Luna: Rojo. Like a fire truck. Un camión de bomberos es rojo. Lucas: Exactly. Un camión de bomberos es rojo. Now let's use them in a little scene. Imagine we're at the park. Luna: Okay, I see the blue sky, green grass, and a red slide. Lucas: Right. So you could say: El cielo es azul, el pasto es verde, y el tobogán es rojo. Luna: El cielo es azul, el pasto es verde, y el tobogán es rojo. That's a whole sentence. Lucas: You're doing great. Let's practice each one again. Repeat after me: azul. Luna: Azul. Lucas: Verde. Luna: Verde. Lucas: Rojo. Luna: Rojo. Lucas: Now, what color is the ocean? El océano es... Luna: Azul. Lucas: Right. And what about a leaf? Una hoja es... Luna: Verde. Lucas: And a strawberry? Una fresa es... Luna: Roja. Wait, is it roja? Lucas: Good catch. When the noun is feminine, the color often changes too. So una fresa roja. But for now, we'll stick with the masculine forms: rojo, verde, azul. Luna: Okay, so rojo for masculine things, roja for feminine. Got it. Lucas: Exactly. So let's do one more round. Azul, verde, rojo. Luna: Azul, verde, rojo. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you see a blue car, you can say: El coche es azul. Luna: El coche es azul. Lucas: A green tree: El árbol es verde. Luna: El árbol es verde. Lucas: A red apple: La manzana es roja. Luna: La manzana es roja. Okay, I see the pattern. Lucas: Good. So to wrap up, let's say all three together: azul, verde, rojo. Luna: Azul, verde, rojo. Lucas: And remember, you can use these to describe anything around you. Practice by looking out your window and naming the colors in Spanish. Luna: That's a great tip. I'll practice with my coffee mug. Es azul. Lucas: Nice. Well, that's all for today. Keep practicing, and we'll see you next time. Luna: Bye!
