- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, we thank you for hopping aboard this edition of
- 0:12Speaker 1: Birds Weekly. It is brought to you by the Inside
- 0:15Speaker 1: the Birds Network for my good friend Colligue Gray Didtinger.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I'm Derek Gunn. The Eagles, of course, are enjoying their
- 0:21Speaker 1: bye week after an impressive paidback win over the New
- 0:25Speaker 1: York Giants. And so now Ray and I decided we're
- 0:28Speaker 1: gonna take a little time and kind of survey the
- 0:30Speaker 1: landscape in the NFC. We'll start with the NFC East
- 0:33Speaker 1: and then take a look at some of the potential
- 0:36Speaker 1: powers of the NFC and give our opinions. So, Ray,
- 0:41Speaker 1: as we sit here now, I think we both firmly
- 0:44Speaker 1: believe that the Eagles are going to win the NFC East.
- 0:46Speaker 1: There's no question about that. But you know, the Eagles
- 0:50Speaker 1: still have one game coming up against the Dallas Cowboys
- 0:53Speaker 1: down there. They still have two games to play against
- 0:56Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders. And let's start with Dallas because that's
- 1:01Speaker 1: an interesting team. It's a team that defensively can't stop anybody.
- 1:06Speaker 1: They're thirty first in the league in defense, but offensively
- 1:11Speaker 1: they're an enigma because when they go on the road,
- 1:14Speaker 1: they don't seem.
- 1:15Speaker 2: To score much.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Although overall, they're averaging thirty points a game, but at home,
- 1:19Speaker 1: which is where the Eagles have to go a few weeks,
- 1:23Speaker 1: they're averaging forty one points a game at home, and
- 1:27Speaker 1: Dak Prescott appears to be having maybe an MVP type season.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Would you agree very much?
- 1:33Speaker 3: So?
- 1:34Speaker 4: I mean, this is everybody has said, and I kind
- 1:38Speaker 4: of agree with them.
- 1:39Speaker 2: This is his best year, and he's had some good ones.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I know what Philadelphia's opinion of Dak preskine that is,
- 1:47Speaker 4: but that aside, if you just look at the raw
- 1:50Speaker 4: numbers and you see the way he's playing, yeah, this
- 1:52Speaker 4: probably is his best year, and there's no question that
- 1:56Speaker 4: he and that offense are carrying that team. Right now,
- 2:00Speaker 4: you said it, I mean they can't stop anybody. I mean,
- 2:02Speaker 4: they've already given up over two hundred points. Uh, and
- 2:06Speaker 4: they're and on the road. On the road, the offense
- 2:10Speaker 4: has been a little up and down, but at home
- 2:11Speaker 4: it's been dynamic. And that's where the Eagles when they
- 2:14Speaker 4: face them in a couple of weeks, they're gonna have
- 2:16Speaker 4: to go play them in Dallas, and nobody's been able
- 2:18Speaker 4: to stop that offense there. So yeah, I mean they're
- 2:23Speaker 4: offensively they're they're they're really a scary team right now,
- 2:26Speaker 4: now do they It's rare that a team like that
- 2:30Speaker 4: that's all offense and no defense makes the playoffs, or
- 2:33Speaker 4: if they do that, they go very far into playoffs.
- 2:36Speaker 4: I mean, you know, you need defense to win in
- 2:38Speaker 4: the postseason. So I don't see the Cowboys as a
- 2:41Speaker 4: long term threat. But the fact is, given some of
- 2:45Speaker 4: the Eagles, some of the issues the Eagles have had
- 2:47Speaker 4: in their secondary, and we've certainly seen that in the
- 2:49Speaker 4: first half of the season, that for this Eagles team
- 2:52Speaker 4: to go down there and play the Cowboys in Jerry World,
- 2:57Speaker 4: the way they're playing this season, that remains a scary
- 2:59Speaker 4: prop position.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Well, you look at their wide receiver tandem of a
- 3:03Speaker 1: CD Lamb who's finally back along with George Pickens who
- 3:06Speaker 1: they got from Pittsburgh. Would would you consider them part
- 3:10Speaker 1: of the upper echelon of receiving duels in the NFL?
- 3:13Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh yeah, I mean you would certainly say
- 3:18Speaker 4: Chase and Higgins in Cincinnati are a great pair. Obviously
- 3:23Speaker 4: in Philadelphia, Brown and Smith are an elite pair of receivers.
- 3:29Speaker 2: But I would put, yeah, I would.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Put Pickens and Lamb in there too, you know, I
- 3:36Speaker 4: you know, I really didn't know what to expect when
- 3:39Speaker 4: Pickens went there, ye was. His career to this point
- 3:42Speaker 4: has been very up and down. I mean, he's we've
- 3:44Speaker 4: seen him be really good and then we've seen him
- 3:47Speaker 4: be just kind of okay. But you know, he's down
- 3:51Speaker 4: there playing for his next contract, obviously, and he's incredibly
- 3:55Speaker 4: motivated and he's you know, when he is locked in
- 4:00Speaker 4: and playing, he's very good. And the pairing of him
- 4:04Speaker 4: and Lamb sort of inside outside duo, which is the
- 4:06Speaker 4: way they're playing them, they could cause you a lot
- 4:09Speaker 4: of problems. And the way tax throwing the ball, yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 4: I mean they're they're lighting it up. Trolling trumble is
- 4:14Speaker 4: when the other team gets the ball, they're lighting it
- 4:16Speaker 4: up too.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, as we move on, I look at this
- 4:20Speaker 1: Washington team, Ray and I honestly thought Washington would be
- 4:23Speaker 1: neck and neck with the Birds to the finish line,
- 4:26Speaker 1: considering they got all the way to the NFC Championship
- 4:29Speaker 1: Game last year, and of course the young quarterback Jane
- 4:32Speaker 1: Daniels had a phenomenal year for a rookie. But right
- 4:35Speaker 1: now they sit at three and five. They're coming off
- 4:37Speaker 1: of this disappointing loss a Monday Night to the Kansas
- 4:40Speaker 1: City Chiefs. Jane Daniels has been down with injuries. Terry
- 4:44Speaker 1: McLaurin has been in and out with the quad issues.
- 4:48Speaker 1: He left the game against the Chiefs with the quad
- 4:50Speaker 1: issue again. I can't figure this team out ray Defensively,
- 4:54Speaker 1: they have pretty good personnel, but they've been inconsistent to
- 4:58Speaker 1: say the least.
- 4:59Speaker 2: And offense.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Marcus Mariota, well, while he's shown some moments the brilliance
- 5:04Speaker 1: as a backup, uh, there's a reason why he's an
- 5:07Speaker 1: habitual backup because he's not the quarterback everybody thought he
- 5:11Speaker 1: would be long term in the NFL. Where do you
- 5:14Speaker 1: see this team going from here? Based on what we've
- 5:17Speaker 1: seen so far, I don't see him as a playoff team.
- 5:21Speaker 1: They just have too many holes right now. And the
- 5:24Speaker 1: biggest factor has been Daniels' health. I mean, he's been
- 5:28Speaker 1: hurt most of this year.
- 5:30Speaker 4: And you know that team of last year that went
- 5:33Speaker 4: to the championship game with the Eagles, it really started
- 5:37Speaker 4: with Jayden Daniels, you know. I mean, he's the guy
- 5:39Speaker 4: that made the difference on that team. I felt, and
- 5:43Speaker 4: I mean he was he was pulling games out of
- 5:46Speaker 4: the fire week after week after week and played great
- 5:51Speaker 4: as a rookie, he really did. But this year he
- 5:54Speaker 4: hasn't really been healthy hardly any time this season, and
- 5:57Speaker 4: that's really bogged him down. And the other part of
- 5:58Speaker 4: it is, and you sort of mentioned did, is their
- 6:01Speaker 4: defense hasn't been nearly good enough to bail them out.
- 6:04Speaker 2: You know, I mean, their.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Defense right now ranks twenty seventh in the league. So
- 6:09Speaker 4: if you've got an offense where you're missing your star
- 6:12Speaker 4: quarterback and your defense can't stop anybody, which is kind
- 6:15Speaker 4: of where the Washington Commanders are right now, that's not
- 6:18Speaker 4: a winning combination.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Now.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I know, looking down the road, you know, the Eagles
- 6:23Speaker 4: are gonna have to play them twice in the final month,
- 6:25Speaker 4: and so who knows. I mean, maybe by then Daniels
- 6:28Speaker 4: will be back healthy, you know, dan Quinn will figured
- 6:31Speaker 4: something out on defense, and they might be playing better football.
- 6:34Speaker 4: But right now, and especially coming off the game that
- 6:36Speaker 4: we saw in Kansas City, they don't look like a
- 6:39Speaker 4: playoff team.
- 6:40Speaker 1: To make well, we know what the Giants are. We
- 6:42Speaker 1: recently saw them. They're sending at two and six. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: do believe that their future is bright. When you think
- 6:49Speaker 1: about Jackson Dart Cam Scattaboo. Unfortunately he's lost with the
- 6:54Speaker 1: season out, they dislocated Ankle Molik Neighbors. The Giants are
- 6:58Speaker 1: slowly starting to build offensively now. Defensively, they still have
- 7:03Speaker 1: a ways to go. They're pretty good in the trenches,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but they're back seven and I'm not including Brian Burns
- 7:09Speaker 1: because I love the way he plays the game and
- 7:11Speaker 1: he's currently one of the leaders in Saxon and National
- 7:14Speaker 1: Football leagues. But they've got to rebuild it back in defense.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But I do believe as we continue down this road
- 7:20Speaker 1: of twenty twenty five, this is a Giants team that
- 7:23Speaker 1: could be what we call one of those teams that
- 7:25Speaker 1: upset the Apple carts, so to speak, in terms of
- 7:30Speaker 1: hurting some team's chances of getting to the playoffs. They're
- 7:34Speaker 1: a scrappy team. They're going to fight. They don't have
- 7:37Speaker 1: the overall weapons and necessary personnel to be a winner
- 7:40Speaker 1: right now, but they do have some key components to
- 7:45Speaker 1: keep an eye on for the rest of this season
- 7:47Speaker 1: and foreseeable future.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they're starting to I mean, I've got
- 7:52Speaker 4: some and you said at pieces right now and we
- 7:57Speaker 4: haven't been able to say that about the Giants now
- 7:59Speaker 4: for a few years.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I think they do now and.
- 8:00Speaker 4: They definitely my feeling, they definitely have a quarterback they
- 8:04Speaker 4: can win with. You know, I think I think Dart
- 8:06Speaker 4: is the real thing. If they can put a team
- 8:10Speaker 4: around him soon enough, they might have something there. But
- 8:13Speaker 4: right now, man, there they're two and six, Derek, and
- 8:16Speaker 4: you look at their schedule. Yeah, the next five games
- 8:19Speaker 4: just brutal, and they're not going to have neighbors and
- 8:21Speaker 4: they're not going to have skid a boo and and
- 8:24Speaker 4: I just don't know if they're going to win any
- 8:26Speaker 4: of those games. And if they drop to two and ten,
- 8:29Speaker 4: you know, what do they have to play for?
- 8:31Speaker 2: You know? That's that's the thing.
- 8:32Speaker 4: I mean, if they had a few games, if the
- 8:34Speaker 4: schedule gave them half a chance over the next four
- 8:38Speaker 4: or five weeks, they might be able to get themselves
- 8:41Speaker 4: in a position where they could be a they could
- 8:43Speaker 4: be a spoiler. They're not going to make the playoffs,
- 8:46Speaker 4: we know that, but they could be They could be
- 8:47Speaker 4: problematic in December for teams that are fighting for the playoffs.
- 8:51Speaker 4: But this next stretch of games I think just might
- 8:53Speaker 4: finish them up. Unless unless this kid Dart has has
- 8:58Speaker 4: so energized this team. But even if they're say two
- 9:01Speaker 4: and nine or three and ten or whatever, that he
- 9:05Speaker 4: can get them up every week to you know, to
- 9:08Speaker 4: play really well in one of these games. But right now,
- 9:11Speaker 4: you know, I think the big question that exists with
- 9:14Speaker 4: the Giants right now is what's John Mara going to
- 9:17Speaker 4: do moving forward? You know, what is he going to
- 9:19Speaker 4: do with his general manager and his coach. I mean,
- 9:22Speaker 4: you look at their record. I mean, three and fourteen
- 9:25Speaker 4: last year. They may well be three and fourteen this year.
- 9:29Speaker 4: You know, can you bring them back? The counter argument is,
- 9:35Speaker 4: you know, the general manager, Joe Shane. You look at
- 9:37Speaker 4: what he's done now with drafting neighbors, with drafting Duart,
- 9:41Speaker 4: with drafting the running back. I mean, he's going to
- 9:44Speaker 4: make a case that we've brought in some pretty decent
- 9:47Speaker 4: players the last couple of years. I know what we were,
- 9:51Speaker 4: and we have it. The record doesn't reflect it, but
- 9:53Speaker 4: I think we've put together something that might a little time,
- 9:56Speaker 4: we could start to win some games. Is you know,
- 9:59Speaker 4: if if you're the owner, is that good enough? That okay, okay,
- 10:03Speaker 4: you drafted Dart, But can I really live with with
- 10:06Speaker 4: the win loss Ledger. I don't know that's the question
- 10:09Speaker 4: that they're going to have to answer. But you know,
- 10:11Speaker 4: Brian Dabele, you know he's he did. He really was
- 10:16Speaker 4: the guy most people credit him with, the guy who
- 10:18Speaker 4: really made the difference in Josh Allen. Josh Allen was
- 10:21Speaker 4: a was an all over the all over the map
- 10:24Speaker 4: kind of gun slinger at Wyoming, barely completed fifty percent
- 10:28Speaker 4: of his passes, you know, and Dable turned him into
- 10:31Speaker 4: one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. And Alan
- 10:34Speaker 4: will tell you that it was largely the dude of
- 10:35Speaker 4: Brian Dables coaching. They really feel like they have a
- 10:38Speaker 4: talent at the quarterback position. Now do they keep Brian
- 10:42Speaker 4: Dabele to develop that quarterback or do they say look
- 10:46Speaker 4: at the record and say, I'm sorry, we just can't
- 10:48Speaker 4: do that. For all the issues the Giants are going
- 10:50Speaker 4: to have to deal with, but as far as the
- 10:51Speaker 4: postseason this year, no, I think that ship has already sailed.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough, parking, traffic,
- 10:59Speaker 3: long lines, We've all been there. But when it comes
- 11:01Speaker 3: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 11:06Speaker 3: the dispensary for sports fans just minutes outside of Philly

- 11:49Speaker 3: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 11:53Speaker 3: one and up.
- 11:54Speaker 1: All right, Ray, Let's take a quick scan around the
- 11:56Speaker 1: NFC and look at some teams that could be a
- 11:59Speaker 1: direct threat to the Philadelphia Eagles quest to get back
- 12:02Speaker 1: to a Super Bowl. And I have to start with
- 12:04Speaker 1: this Detroit team. They have the number eighth ranked offense
- 12:08Speaker 1: or averaging almost thirty one points a game. You know
- 12:11Speaker 1: their defense is pretty good as well. They're three and
- 12:14Speaker 1: zero at home right now. Jared Goff is completing seventy
- 12:18Speaker 1: five percent of his passes. I think arguably they have
- 12:21Speaker 1: the best one to two running back combination and Jamiir
- 12:25Speaker 1: Gibbs and David Montgomery. When I look at their offense rate,
- 12:29Speaker 1: the first thing that comes to mind is lethal. The
- 12:32Speaker 1: second thing that comes to mind is very creative.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yes it is. They're really They're really good. And the
- 12:40Speaker 2: other part of.
- 12:41Speaker 4: That offense that just jumps out at you when you
- 12:44Speaker 4: watch them playing, their offensive line is really good. Their
- 12:47Speaker 4: offensive line is really good, and it's all working together.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It really is.
- 12:52Speaker 4: At the start of this year, I mean, there's a
- 12:54Speaker 4: lot of questions about how was this offense going to
- 12:57Speaker 4: function without the offensive courtnerds benjon and left to go
- 13:00Speaker 4: to the Bears, And there was a question of how
- 13:04Speaker 4: much of a step back is this offense going to
- 13:06Speaker 4: take without the offensive coordinator. A lot of the same
- 13:09Speaker 4: questions we're asking here in Philadelphia. But they have shown
- 13:13Speaker 4: that they're having no problem moving to football. And on
- 13:16Speaker 4: the other side of it, their defense is really good.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I mean, their defense against the run is top five.
- 13:23Speaker 4: And you know, they got off to the start of
- 13:26Speaker 4: this year, everybody wondered, you know, you lost both coordinators,
- 13:28Speaker 4: you lost and you lost Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinator,
- 13:32Speaker 4: and there's a lot of question about Well, now, I
- 13:34Speaker 4: guess we'll see how good a coach Dan Campbell is. Well,
- 13:37Speaker 4: if you're watching that team right now, they're playing really
- 13:40Speaker 4: good football and they're a threat. They're absolutely a threat.
- 13:45Speaker 4: And you know, I thought, and listen, it's not taking
- 13:49Speaker 4: anything away from what the Eagles accomplished last year. I
- 13:52Speaker 4: felt they were the best team in football and they
- 13:53Speaker 4: certainly proved it. But let's face it, you and I
- 13:56Speaker 4: both had talked about it.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Last year.
- 13:59Speaker 4: The Eagles got a big break when the Lions got
- 14:01Speaker 4: knocked off in the playoffs. Yes NFC Championship game that
- 14:05Speaker 4: the Eagles were able to play it right here at
- 14:07Speaker 4: the link as supposed to having to play the Lions
- 14:09Speaker 4: at Detroit. Now, the Eagles may have beaten them out
- 14:11Speaker 4: there because the way the Eagles were playing, ye, but
- 14:14Speaker 4: it would have been it would have been a tough game.
- 14:17Speaker 2: And the Lions have carried that over into this year.
- 14:20Speaker 4: And you know, if you were to say, who's the
- 14:22Speaker 4: biggest threat to the Eagles right now in the NFC,
- 14:26Speaker 4: I would probably say the Lions, and we'll get to
- 14:27Speaker 4: see the Lions.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Come to Philadelphia in just a couple of weeks.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Green Bay interesting team to say the least. They are
- 14:34Speaker 1: the youngest roster in the National Football League. They currently
- 14:38Speaker 1: have the best record in the NFL, or should have say,
- 14:41Speaker 1: in the NFC, with only one loss and one time.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Jordan Love has really seemed to come into his own.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Their offense and defense are both ranked in the top ten.
- 14:53Speaker 1: When you look at the contenders, Ray every contender seems
- 14:56Speaker 1: to have a number one receiver, but when you look
- 14:59Speaker 1: at Green Bay, they have three or four number one
- 15:01Speaker 1: receivers and the tight end Tucker Kraft, is having a
- 15:04Speaker 1: phenomenal year. Has Green Bay grown enough to where you
- 15:08Speaker 1: perceive them as a legitimate threat in the NFC even
- 15:11Speaker 1: though we still have a lot of football to play?
- 15:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I do, I do. I think they're really good.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Uh And Love is Love is the key. And to me,
- 15:23Speaker 4: he just looks you know.
- 15:25Speaker 2: He's done. He doesn't when you watch him playing now,
- 15:27Speaker 2: he doesn't look like a young quarterback. Now.
- 15:29Speaker 4: He looks like a real veteran, you know, he does.
- 15:32Speaker 4: He does look really settled in the pocket. He sees
- 15:35Speaker 4: the field really well, and and you're right, Craft is
- 15:39Speaker 4: a really good young tight end. What is it with
- 15:42Speaker 4: South Dakota State ends? I mean, if you're looking, if
- 15:46Speaker 4: you're looking in a draft, if you're looking for a
- 15:48Speaker 4: tight end, you could you could do worse than stop
- 15:52Speaker 4: into South Dakota State, because just with the Eagles, I mean,
- 15:55Speaker 4: the best tight end that's ever played for the Eagles,
- 15:57Speaker 4: in my opinion, is Pete Retz laugh back in the sixties.
- 16:00Speaker 4: He was from South Dakota State. Dallas Goddard obviously playing
- 16:04Speaker 4: now and playing really well South Dakota State and this
- 16:08Speaker 4: kid South Dakota State. I mean, nobody's going to say
- 16:12Speaker 4: that they're a national power as a football team, because
- 16:15Speaker 4: they never have been, but they certainly have a way
- 16:17Speaker 4: of turning out tight ends.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Man Tampa Bay team, the Eagles have already beaten, but
- 16:23Speaker 1: Tampa Bay, sitting at six and two, Baker Mayfield arguably
- 16:27Speaker 1: is playing his best football right now. Unfortunately, they lost
- 16:29Speaker 1: future Hall of Famer Mike Evans with a broken collar ball,
- 16:32Speaker 1: but their defense is twenty five QB sacks right now.
- 16:36Speaker 1: How do you perceive Tampa Bay moving forward?
- 16:40Speaker 4: I think it's really going to Baker Mayfield's playing great.
- 16:43Speaker 4: You know we're talking about MVPs. I mean, you got
- 16:48Speaker 4: right in the NFC right now. I mean, there's a
- 16:50Speaker 4: lot of quarterbacks that are right in that discussion, Baker.
- 16:53Speaker 4: You know we had already, you know, have already mentioned
- 16:56Speaker 4: a couple of them, but Baker Mayfield's got to be
- 16:59Speaker 4: in that discussion too. Dak Prescott has to be there.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I definitely think Golf has to be there. Matthew Stafford
- 17:06Speaker 4: has to be there. I mean, there are a lot
- 17:08Speaker 4: of quarterbacks in the NFC that are playing and have
- 17:12Speaker 4: to be in that MVP conversation. At Baker Mayfield certainly
- 17:15Speaker 4: one of them, maybe even more so than the other guys,
- 17:18Speaker 4: in the sense that you get the feeling that he's
- 17:20Speaker 4: really carrying this offense. And you know, I think the
- 17:25Speaker 4: injury to Mike Evans is hurt, but that division is
- 17:29Speaker 4: so weak right now that I don't see anybody overtaking
- 17:35Speaker 4: them in the South. And you know, when they get
- 17:38Speaker 4: to the postseason, if they get all their parts back healthy,
- 17:43Speaker 4: if Baker Mayfield has his compliment.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Of receivers, they're going to be a tough out.
- 17:47Speaker 1: They really will be Seattle's a team that not many
- 17:51Speaker 1: people talk about, but they're at five and two. They're
- 17:53Speaker 1: averaging almost twenty eight points a game. Sam Darnold goes
- 17:56Speaker 1: from a phenomenal regular season in Minnesota to another outstanding
- 17:59Speaker 1: season are up in Seattle. He's completing over the sixty
- 18:02Speaker 1: eight percent of his passes, he's only been sacked nine times,
- 18:06Speaker 1: and ray Defensively, they had to rebuild that defense, but
- 18:11Speaker 1: they're playing fast and fewers football in mank and that
- 18:14Speaker 1: defense hit.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's when you watch them play.
- 18:18Speaker 4: That's the thing that jumps out at you is that
- 18:21Speaker 4: defensively they are really fast and they're really physical and
- 18:26Speaker 4: on the offensive side, it really is Sam Darnold. And
- 18:30Speaker 4: then you know, we saw what he did in Minnesota.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I mean, he went to Minnesota and people thought it
- 18:36Speaker 4: was a revelation. They played so much better than he
- 18:38Speaker 4: did with the Jets, and you know, Minnesota just made
- 18:43Speaker 4: the decision, well, you know, we can let him go.
- 18:46Speaker 4: And now look where Minnesota is in the quarterback petition.
- 18:49Speaker 4: But Donald has gone on to Seattle and he's thrived.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Now the only question with him is can he they'll
- 18:55Speaker 4: get to the postseason. They're clearly headed for the postseason.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Can Donald play in the postseason? You know, we saw
- 19:01Speaker 4: what he did last year in Minnesota in the regular season, Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 4: I mean, he put up numbers very much like the
- 19:06Speaker 4: numbers he's putting up now. But then he got into
- 19:08Speaker 4: the postseason, he got in the big games, and he
- 19:11Speaker 4: reverted to being the New York Sam Donald. Let's see
- 19:15Speaker 4: if this year, when he gets to the postseason in
- 19:17Speaker 4: a different team, in a different situation, if he plays better.
- 19:20Speaker 2: They're gonna need that. But right now, yeah, I mean,
- 19:23Speaker 2: they're clearly on their way to the postseason.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And finally, Ray the Rams sitting five in two, they
- 19:28Speaker 1: have the number six offense in the NFL right now.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford lights out right now, seventeen touchdowns, only two interceptions.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Of course, when you throw, you're throwing to the array
- 19:39Speaker 1: of weapons he's throwing to. It makes you job a
- 19:41Speaker 1: lot easier. I think their only achilles hell could be
- 19:43Speaker 1: while their defense is very fast, it's a smaller defense,
- 19:48Speaker 1: and I think a little bit more physical team can
- 19:51Speaker 1: wear them down.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Hey, I still like a good night out, but I'm
- 19:54Speaker 3: not always in the mood to drink. And that's why

- 21:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that's I think that's a legitimate question is how
- 21:24Speaker 4: that defense hold up? But Matthew Stafford is playing as
- 21:30Speaker 4: good a football as he's played in his whole career,
- 21:32Speaker 4: and maybe the best. I mean, people haven't really talked
- 21:35Speaker 4: about the numbers that he's putting up, but they're pretty amazing,
- 21:39Speaker 4: and he has great receivers. But he's you know, he
- 21:42Speaker 4: and Sean McVay have have found that sweet spot in
- 21:46Speaker 4: the coach quarterback relationship where they both know exactly what
- 21:50Speaker 4: they want to do week to week in terms of
- 21:52Speaker 4: game plan and in game decision making.
- 21:55Speaker 2: And they're a dangerous team. I look at, you know,
- 21:58Speaker 2: the Eagles.
- 22:00Speaker 4: The Eagles and Rams have played a lot now the
- 22:01Speaker 4: last couple of years, and the games the game last
- 22:06Speaker 4: year in Los Angeles not so much. That was the
- 22:08Speaker 4: game when Sha Kwon Barkley ran all over him. But
- 22:11Speaker 4: the playoff game here in Philadelphia went right down to
- 22:14Speaker 4: the wire. The game that they played earlier this season.
- 22:18Speaker 4: I mean, it comes down to a block field goal
- 22:20Speaker 4: to say that one the Eagles and the Rams. It
- 22:24Speaker 4: wouldn't be a huge shock to me if you wound up,
- 22:27Speaker 4: if they wound up. In fact, probably a shock to
- 22:29Speaker 4: me if they didn't meet somewhere in the playoffs. And
- 22:32Speaker 4: I think it's once again, I think it's going to
- 22:34Speaker 4: be a flip of a coin kind of game because
- 22:36Speaker 4: I think these two teams are really close.
- 22:38Speaker 2: You know what. One of I read an article.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Today that coming off last coming off the game Washington's,
- 22:46Speaker 4: Washington's game against Kansas City projecting projecting that the writer's
- 22:55Speaker 4: sake said, I have a feeling we're headed back to
- 22:59Speaker 4: another Kansas City Eagle super Bowl.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Now, this was Nate Davis, a guy who.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Writes pro football and had been writing pro football for
- 23:07Speaker 4: years for USA Today, But he was sort of laying
- 23:10Speaker 4: it out there that yeah, Chiefs and the Eagles both
- 23:13Speaker 4: had their issues, and there was a little while there
- 23:16Speaker 4: that they didn't look like they had it all together,
- 23:18Speaker 4: but it looks like they're getting it together now, just
- 23:20Speaker 4: in time to make that big run through the second half,
- 23:23Speaker 4: and saying that how rare it is that you see
- 23:27Speaker 4: the same two teams meet in three different Super Bowls.
- 23:31Speaker 4: It's only happened once before, and that was Dallas Pittsburgh,
- 23:36Speaker 4: but that was over a span of twenty years. This
- 23:40Speaker 4: would be three times that these teams would have played
- 23:43Speaker 4: in the Super Bowl in what seven years? Yeah, So
- 23:47Speaker 4: you know, I'm not prepared to write that one on
- 23:50Speaker 4: the board just yet as the matchup, but over the
- 23:54Speaker 4: last couple of days you got to start thinking about it,
- 23:56Speaker 4: and if it happens, it would be pretty much profoot
- 24:00Speaker 4: history because other than one other's occasion, we've never seen
- 24:03Speaker 4: it before.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Wow.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Eagles, Lions, Packers, Bucks, Rams, Oh my, it should be
- 24:10Speaker 1: a fast and furious race to the finish line. And
- 24:13Speaker 1: I can't wait to see how it all plays itself.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It's going to be that is for sure.
- 24:19Speaker 4: It would be hard to project exactly who's going to
- 24:21Speaker 4: come out on the other end, but I know it's
- 24:23Speaker 4: it's going to be fun to watch getting there.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I agree with you one hundred percent for Ray Dinger.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm Derek Gunn. This has been Birds Weekly. We'll talk
- 24:31Speaker 1: to you next time.
