1:17
John
1:17
Dudley,
1:18
Good
1:18
to
1:18
see
1:18
you,
1:19
my
1:19
friend.
1:19
What's
1:19
happening,
1:20
brother?
1:21
Always
1:21
fun
1:22
on
1:22
this
1:22
one.
1:22
We
1:23
have
1:23
got
1:23
one
1:23
of
1:24
the
1:24
OG
1:24
guests
1:25
back
1:25
on
1:26
the
1:26
show
1:26
today,
1:27
Ken
1:28
Nelson,
1:28
Panasonic
1:29
Ventilation.
1:30
Brother,
1:30
good
1:30
to
1:30
see
1:30
you
1:31
again.
1:31
It's
1:31
been
1:31
a
1:31
bit.
1:32
It's
1:33
been
1:33
a
1:33
minute.
1:33
Yeah.
1:34
I
1:34
think
1:34
it
1:34
was
1:35
one
1:35
of
1:35
the
1:35
trade
1:35
shows
1:35
last
1:36
year
1:36
where
1:36
we
1:36
connected
1:37
for
1:37
a
1:37
while.
1:38
Absolutely,
1:39
man.
1:39
And
1:40
it's
1:40
great.
1:40
Geez.
1:41
Trade
1:41
show
1:41
coming
1:41
around
1:42
here
1:42
again
1:42
soon.
1:43
Get
1:43
to
1:43
see
1:43
each
1:43
other
1:44
face
1:44
to
1:44
face,
1:44
I'm
1:45
sure.
1:45
But
1:45
man,
1:45
I
1:46
have
1:46
been
1:46
using
1:46
your
1:47
products
1:47
for
1:48
sheesh.
1:48
Probably
1:49
I'm
1:50
going
1:50
to
1:50
date
1:50
myself,
1:50
I'm
1:50
going
1:51
to
1:51
say
1:51
over
1:51
10
1:51
years
1:51
and
1:52
I'll
1:52
just
1:52
leave
1:52
it
1:52
at
1:52
that
1:52
because
1:53
it's
1:53
been
1:53
a
1:53
bit.
1:54
But
1:54
there
1:54
is
1:55
still,
1:55
in
1:55
my
1:55
opinion,
1:56
nobody
1:57
out
1:57
there
1:57
that
1:57
is
1:57
competing
1:58
head
1:58
to
1:59
head
2:00
with
2:00
Panasonic
2:01
Ventilation.
2:01
And
2:02
you
2:02
guys
2:02
are
2:02
not
2:02
paying
2:03
me
2:03
to
2:03
say
2:03
that.
2:04
This
2:04
is
2:04
just
2:04
something
2:04
that
2:05
I've
2:05
been
2:05
using
2:05
forever
2:07
and
2:07
no
2:08
one's
2:08
close,
2:08
brother.
2:09
So
2:09
great
2:09
job
2:10
that.
2:10
Still,
2:10
10
2:11
years
2:11
later,
2:11
to
2:11
not
2:12
have
2:12
anybody
2:12
that's
2:12
really
2:13
doing
2:13
what
2:13
you
2:13
guys
2:13
are
2:14
doing.
2:14
Well,
2:14
you
2:14
know
2:14
what?
2:15
So
2:15
one
2:15
of
2:15
the
2:15
things,
2:16
one
2:16
of
2:16
the
2:16
things
2:16
I
2:16
would
2:17
like
2:17
to
2:17
talk
2:17
about
2:17
before
2:17
our
2:18
day
2:18
is
2:18
over
2:18
is
2:18
ervs.
2:19
But
2:19
one
2:20
of
2:20
the
2:20
primary
2:21
pillars
2:21
of
2:21
ERVS
2:22
is
2:23
the
2:23
motor.
2:24
And
2:24
if
2:24
there's
2:24
one
2:25
thing
2:25
that
2:25
Panasonic
2:26
does,
2:27
we
2:27
build
2:28
motors.
2:28
Our
2:29
ecm,
2:29
our
2:30
electronic
2:31
commutated
2:31
motors,
2:32
are
2:33
so
2:33
robust,
2:33
in
2:34
fact,
2:34
in
2:34
our
2:34
fans.
2:35
For
2:35
example,
2:36
I
2:36
have
2:36
a
2:36
fan
2:37
in
2:37
my
2:37
crawl
2:37
space
2:37
that's
2:38
been
2:38
running
2:38
straight
2:39
for
2:39
18
2:39
years.
2:41
I
2:41
just
2:41
use
2:41
it
2:41
in
2:41
a
2:41
crawl
2:42
space
2:42
to
2:42
evacuate
2:43
moisture
2:43
load
2:44
out
2:44
of
2:44
the
2:44
crawl
2:44
space.
2:45
Right.
2:45
Continuously
2:46
moving
2:46
air.
2:47
I
2:47
go
2:47
down
2:47
there
2:47
about
2:48
every
2:48
five
2:48
years
2:49
and
2:49
knock
2:50
the
2:50
dust
2:50
out
2:50
of
2:51
the
2:51
blower
2:51
wheel
2:52
and
2:52
literally
2:54
that's
2:54
all
2:54
I
2:54
do.
2:55
But
2:55
it
2:55
is
2:55
still
2:56
running
2:56
right
2:56
now.
2:56
I
2:57
haven't
2:57
looked
2:57
at
2:57
it
2:57
the
2:57
last
2:58
couple
2:58
minutes,
2:58
but
2:59
I
2:59
can
2:59
walk
2:59
by
3:00
one
3:00
of
3:00
my
3:00
foundation
3:01
vents
3:01
and
3:01
I
3:01
can
3:01
feel
3:02
the
3:02
air
3:02
coming
3:03
out
3:03
of
3:03
it.
3:04
So
3:04
nice.
3:05
We
3:05
build
3:05
these
3:06
robust
3:06
motors.
3:07
You
3:07
know,
3:07
when
3:07
you're
3:07
a
3:07
builder,
3:08
one
3:08
of
3:08
the
3:08
things
3:09
you
3:09
want
3:09
is
3:09
resilience
3:10
in
3:10
your
3:10
products.
3:11
Right.
3:11
Holy
3:11
cow.
3:12
You
3:12
don't
3:12
want
3:12
to
3:12
put
3:12
something
3:13
in
3:13
and
3:13
then
3:13
be
3:13
on
3:14
that
3:14
speed
3:14
dial
3:14
in
3:15
three
3:15
years.
3:16
When
3:16
you're
3:16
a
3:16
home
3:16
buyer,
3:17
your
3:17
homeowner
3:18
calls
3:18
you
3:18
up
3:18
and
3:18
say,
3:19
yeah,
3:19
this
3:19
goofy
3:20
little
3:20
fan
3:20
that
3:20
you
3:21
saved
3:21
money
3:21
on
3:22
fails,
3:22
and
3:23
now
3:23
I've
3:23
got
3:23
steam
3:24
in
3:24
my
3:24
shower
3:25
area.
3:26
It's
3:26
just.
3:27
It's
3:27
just
3:28
too
3:28
irritating
3:29
to
3:29
go
3:30
cheap
3:30
with
3:30
that.
3:31
Yeah,
3:33
yeah.
3:34
I
3:34
say
3:34
this
3:34
about
3:34
your
3:34
vent
3:35
fans
3:36
because
3:36
you
3:37
literally
3:37
killed
3:38
the
3:38
business
3:39
of
3:39
mirror
3:40
and
3:40
medicine
3:40
cabinet
3:41
companies
3:42
that
3:42
were
3:42
putting
3:42
in
3:43
heated
3:43
mirrors
3:43
and
3:43
medicine
3:44
cabinets.
3:45
And
3:45
I
3:45
always
3:45
just
3:46
went,
3:46
why
3:46
do
3:46
you
3:46
need
3:46
to
3:47
buy
3:47
that
3:47
if
3:47
you
3:47
just
3:47
got
3:48
good
3:48
ventilation?
3:50
Right,
3:50
Right.
3:51
Yep.
3:52
It's
3:52
that
3:52
simple.
3:53
Have
3:53
nothing
3:53
to
3:53
add
3:54
to
3:54
that.
3:54
Right.
3:54
I
3:54
mean,
3:55
ventilation.
3:56
And
3:57
ventilation
3:58
is
3:58
just
3:58
really
3:58
the
3:58
key
3:59
in
3:59
that
3:59
application.
4:00
But
4:00
we
4:01
want
4:01
to
4:01
remind
4:01
everyone
4:02
that
4:02
ventilation
4:03
doesn't
4:04
just
4:04
apply
4:04
to
4:04
the
4:04
bathroom.
4:05
Right.
4:05
One
4:05
of
4:05
the
4:05
things
4:06
we
4:06
often
4:06
forget
4:07
is
4:07
where
4:07
moisture
4:08
or
4:08
water
4:08
vapor
4:09
is
4:09
generated
4:09
from
4:09
within
4:10
the
4:10
house.
4:10
Right.
4:10
We
4:11
have
4:11
a
4:11
number
4:11
of
4:11
places
4:12
as
4:12
humans,
4:13
we
4:13
outgas
4:13
moisture
4:14
like
4:14
crazy.
4:15
We
4:15
have
4:15
a
4:16
kitchen
4:16
where
4:16
we
4:16
cook
4:17
and
4:17
do
4:17
all
4:17
these
4:17
other
4:18
cleaning
4:18
and
4:18
projects.
4:19
And
4:19
then,
4:19
of
4:20
course,
4:20
there's
4:20
the
4:20
bathroom
4:21
where
4:21
we
4:21
dump
4:22
high
4:22
volumes
4:23
of
4:23
moisture
4:24
in
4:24
a
4:24
short
4:25
time
4:25
into
4:25
the
4:26
house.
4:27
So
4:27
ventilation,
4:28
or
4:28
bathroom
4:28
ventilation,
4:29
however
4:30
you
4:30
have
4:30
that
4:30
ventilation
4:31
working,
4:32
it
4:32
solves
4:32
all
4:32
of
4:33
those
4:33
problems.
4:34
It
4:34
does.
4:34
And
4:34
there's
4:35
so
4:35
many
4:35
other
4:35
rooms
4:36
now
4:36
getting
4:36
added
4:36
to
4:37
this.
4:37
And
4:37
Johnny
4:37
and
4:38
I
4:38
have
4:38
talked
4:38
a
4:38
little
4:38
bit
4:38
about
4:38
it
4:39
in
4:39
the
4:39
past,
4:39
and
4:40
John,
4:40
I'll
4:40
let
4:40
you
4:40
jump
4:40
in
4:40
here
4:41
in
4:41
a
4:41
second.
4:41
But
4:42
nowadays
4:42
I'm
4:43
seeing
4:43
all
4:43
these
4:43
new
4:43
builds
4:44
around
4:44
my
4:44
house.
4:45
They've
4:46
got
4:46
the
4:46
three
4:46
car
4:46
garage.
4:47
They've
4:47
insulated
4:48
it,
4:48
They've
4:48
sheetrocked
4:49
it.
4:50
It's
4:50
beautiful.
4:51
They've
4:51
got
4:51
the
4:51
glass,
4:52
the
4:53
frosted
4:53
glass
4:54
garage
4:54
doors.
4:55
And
4:56
it
4:56
looks
4:56
like
4:56
it's
4:57
raining
4:57
in
4:57
there
4:57
because
4:57
they
4:58
pull
4:58
in
4:58
in
4:58
the
4:58
wintertime.
4:59
About
4:59
right
4:59
now.
5:00
It's
5:00
45
5:01
degrees
5:01
outside.
5:03
The
5:03
car
5:03
is
5:04
soaking
5:04
wet.
5:04
Two
5:05
cars
5:05
pull
5:05
in
5:05
there.
5:05
They
5:06
go
5:06
inside,
5:07
and
5:07
all
5:07
that
5:08
moisture
5:08
and
5:08
the
5:08
heat
5:09
of
5:09
the
5:09
engine
5:10
is
5:10
sitting
5:10
there
5:10
in
5:10
an
5:11
insulated
5:11
space.
5:12
And
5:12
I
5:12
can
5:13
guarantee
5:13
you
5:14
that
5:14
every
5:14
single
5:15
storage
5:15
tote
5:16
of
5:17
Christmas,
5:17
Easter,
5:18
whatever
5:18
else
5:19
is
5:19
in
5:19
there
5:20
on
5:20
sports
5:21
equipment
5:21
is
5:22
a
5:22
moldy,
5:22
growing
5:23
mess.
5:25
Has
5:25
become
5:25
the
5:26
chia
5:26
pet
5:27
of
5:27
the
5:27
garage.
5:28
Yeah.
5:29
And
5:29
it's
5:30
something
5:30
that
5:31
unfortunately,
5:31
building
5:32
code
5:32
really
5:32
hasn't
5:33
been
5:33
addressing
5:34
because
5:35
technically
5:36
it's
5:36
not
5:36
inside
5:37
the
5:37
structure,
5:37
but
5:38
it
5:38
is.
5:38
You
5:38
know
5:39
what
5:39
I
5:39
mean?
5:40
So
5:40
what
5:40
we
5:40
see
5:40
is,
5:40
we
5:41
see
5:41
the
5:41
building
5:41
code,
5:42
which
5:42
is
5:43
basically
5:43
the
5:44
barely
5:44
Legal
5:45
house
5:45
that
5:46
you
5:46
can
5:46
build
5:47
and
5:47
the
5:47
building
5:47
code,
5:48
that's
5:48
your
5:48
D.
5:48
Minus
5:49
and
5:49
passenger
5:50
class.
5:50
Yeah.
5:51
And
5:51
then
5:52
you
5:52
have
5:52
above
5:52
code
5:53
program.
5:53
So
5:53
if
5:54
you
5:54
built
5:54
an
5:54
Energy
5:55
Star
5:55
house,
5:55
for
5:56
example,
5:56
in
5:57
that
5:57
attached
5:57
garage,
5:58
you
5:58
would,
5:59
to
5:59
meet
5:59
the
5:59
Energy
6:00
Star,
6:00
the
6:00
above
6:01
code
6:01
requirements
6:01
of
6:01
Energy
6:02
Star
6:02
be
6:03
required
6:03
to
6:03
have
6:04
some
6:04
kind
6:04
of
6:04
an
6:04
exhaust
6:05
fan
6:05
in
6:05
there
6:06
because
6:06
it's
6:06
not
6:06
just
6:07
moisture.
6:07
Right.
6:07
You
6:07
bring
6:08
the
6:08
car
6:08
in
6:08
there,
6:09
you
6:09
start
6:09
it,
6:09
you
6:09
turn
6:10
it
6:10
off,
6:10
it's
6:11
out.
6:11
Gassing,
6:12
Gosh.
6:12
Nitrogen
6:13
dioxide,
6:14
carbon
6:14
monoxide,
6:15
PM
6:16
2.5,
6:17
everything
6:17
you
6:17
can
6:18
associate
6:18
with
6:18
a
6:19
combustion
6:19
process,
6:20
outgassing.
6:21
And
6:21
then
6:21
of
6:22
course,
6:22
at
6:22
my
6:22
house,
6:23
holy
6:23
cow,
6:23
you
6:24
go
6:24
out
6:24
to
6:24
my
6:24
garage
6:24
and
6:25
my
6:25
wife,
6:25
she
6:25
has
6:26
her
6:26
fertilizer,
6:26
she
6:27
has
6:27
herbicides,
6:28
I
6:28
have
6:28
pesticides,
6:29
I'm
6:29
bringing,
6:30
I'm
6:30
bringing
6:30
the
6:30
whole
6:31
thing,
6:31
the
6:31
whole
6:32
package
6:32
into
6:32
my
6:32
garage
6:33
and
6:33
it's
6:34
just
6:34
separated
6:35
by
6:36
a
6:36
self
6:36
closing
6:37
door.
6:38
That's
6:38
it.
6:38
Yeah.
6:39
Paints,
6:40
solvents,
6:41
everything
6:42
else.
6:43
Exactly,
6:44
exactly.
6:45
Diesel.
6:46
I've
6:46
got
6:46
diesel.
6:47
I've
6:47
got
6:47
mixed
6:47
fuel,
6:48
I've
6:48
got
6:48
gasoline.
6:49
Holy
6:50
cow.
6:50
Our
6:50
garages
6:51
are
6:51
full
6:52
of
6:53
things
6:53
that
6:53
are
6:54
not
6:54
really
6:54
the
6:54
best
6:55
things
6:55
for
6:55
us.
6:57
Yeah.
6:57
So
6:57
Ken,
6:58
in
6:58
that
6:58
kind
6:58
of
6:58
situation,
6:59
is
6:59
it
6:59
better
6:59
to
7:00
put
7:00
in
7:01
a
7:01
VIN
7:01
fan
7:01
or
7:02
is
7:02
that
7:02
really
7:02
where
7:03
ERV
7:03
should
7:03
come
7:04
in?
7:04
Or
7:04
what's
7:04
your
7:04
take
7:05
on
7:05
that?
7:05
Because
7:05
code's
7:06
not
7:06
dealing
7:06
with
7:07
it.
7:08
Whenever
7:08
I
7:08
talk
7:09
to
7:09
builders
7:09
about
7:10
that
7:10
application,
7:11
in
7:11
my
7:12
opinion,
7:12
we
7:12
have
7:12
like
7:12
one
7:13
of
7:13
the
7:13
most
7:13
perfect
7:13
fans.
7:14
We
7:14
have
7:14
what
7:15
we
7:15
call
7:15
our
7:15
whisper
7:16
sense
7:17
fan.
7:17
And
7:17
what
7:17
it
7:18
is,
7:18
it's
7:19
a
7:20
condensation
7:21
sensor
7:22
and
7:22
a
7:22
motion
7:22
sensor
7:23
all
7:23
in
7:23
one.
7:25
And
7:25
so
7:25
you
7:25
drive
7:26
in,
7:26
the
7:26
fan's
7:26
going
7:27
to
7:27
come
7:27
on
7:27
for
7:27
an
7:27
hour,
7:28
or
7:28
you
7:29
can
7:29
actually
7:29
define
7:29
that
7:30
value.
7:30
It'd
7:30
be
7:30
40
7:31
minutes,
7:31
30
7:31
minutes,
7:32
whatever
7:32
you
7:32
wish,
7:32
but
7:33
it'll
7:33
come
7:33
on
7:34
and
7:34
evaporate
7:34
and
7:35
evacuate
7:35
whatever's
7:36
in
7:36
there
7:36
out.
7:37
And
7:37
then
7:37
it's
7:37
also
7:38
got
7:38
the
7:38
moisture
7:38
sensor.
7:39
So
7:39
if
7:39
you
7:39
come
7:39
in,
7:40
we
7:40
see
7:40
this
7:41
especially
7:41
in
7:41
our
7:41
northern
7:42
climates
7:42
where
7:42
the
7:43
cars
7:43
are
7:43
as
7:43
you
7:44
described,
7:44
they're
7:44
wet
7:45
or
7:45
covered
7:45
in
7:46
snow,
7:46
all
7:47
that
7:47
dribbles
7:47
off.
7:48
And
7:48
now
7:48
you've
7:49
got
7:49
your
7:49
engine
7:50
block
7:50
or
7:50
whatever
7:51
heat
7:51
source
7:52
rising.
7:52
I
7:52
have
7:52
shoe
7:52
dryers
7:53
in
7:53
my
7:54
garage.
7:54
I
7:54
have
7:54
all
7:55
sorts
7:55
of
7:55
stuff
7:56
that's
7:56
creating
7:57
water
7:57
vapor.
7:58
And
7:58
what
7:59
I
7:59
don't
7:59
want
7:59
it
7:59
to
7:59
do
8:00
is
8:00
adhere
8:00
to
8:00
a
8:00
wall
8:01
space
8:01
so
8:02
that
8:02
fan
8:02
will
8:03
sense
8:03
that
8:03
moisture
8:04
load
8:04
and
8:04
trigger
8:04
on.
8:05
Problem
8:06
solved.
8:06
Right.
8:06
And
8:07
again,
8:07
part
8:08
of
8:08
our
8:09
challenge
8:09
is
8:09
how
8:10
do
8:10
I
8:10
make
8:10
all
8:11
of
8:11
these
8:12
functions
8:13
so
8:14
that
8:14
the
8:14
occupant
8:14
doesn't
8:15
have
8:15
to
8:15
go
8:15
out
8:15
and
8:15
turn
8:16
a
8:16
switch
8:16
on?
8:17
Right.
8:17
Because
8:17
the
8:17
occupant
8:19
won't.
8:19
I
8:20
mean,
8:20
you
8:20
might
8:20
have
8:20
a
8:20
really
8:21
savvy
8:21
occupant
8:22
that'll
8:22
do
8:22
it
8:22
half
8:23
the
8:23
time
8:23
or
8:23
much
8:24
of
8:24
the
8:24
time.
8:25
100%.
8:26
And
8:27
it's
8:27
the
8:27
same
8:27
thing
8:27
in
8:27
the
8:27
bathroom.
8:28
That's
8:28
the
8:28
one
8:28
nice
8:29
thing
8:29
about
8:29
code,
8:29
is
8:29
that
8:30
they've
8:30
been
8:30
putting
8:30
timers
8:31
and
8:31
stuff
8:31
in
8:31
there.
8:32
And
8:32
as
8:32
far
8:33
as
8:33
current
8:33
code,
8:33
they've
8:34
gotten
8:34
that
8:34
better.
8:35
And
8:35
I
8:36
want
8:36
to
8:36
say
8:36
this
8:37
because
8:37
I
8:37
did
8:37
this
8:37
at
8:38
my,
8:38
at
8:38
my
8:38
last
8:38
house,
8:39
I
8:39
had
8:39
another
8:39
brand
8:39
of
8:40
fans
8:40
that
8:40
they
8:40
said,
8:41
hey,
8:41
try
8:41
this.
8:42
Another
8:42
big
8:43
brand.
8:43
I'm
8:43
not
8:43
going
8:43
to
8:44
bash
8:44
them
8:44
here.
8:44
But
8:45
it's
8:45
in
8:45
every
8:45
builder
8:46
basic
8:46
house
8:46
that
8:47
you
8:47
see
8:47
out
8:47
there.
8:47
And
8:47
it's
8:48
been
8:48
in
8:48
those
8:48
houses
8:49
for
8:50
40
8:50
years.
8:51
I
8:51
turned
8:51
it
8:52
on
8:52
for
8:52
the
8:52
first
8:52
time
8:53
and
8:53
I
8:53
just
8:53
went,
8:54
oh
8:54
my
8:54
gosh,
8:55
this
8:56
sounds
8:56
no
8:56
different.
8:57
It's
8:57
their
8:57
high
8:58
end
8:58
fan.
8:59
It
8:59
sounds
8:59
no
8:59
different
9:00
than
9:01
the
9:01
nasty
9:02
$29
9:03
squirrel
9:03
cage
9:03
one
9:04
that
9:04
every
9:04
low
9:05
end
9:05
builder
9:05
puts
9:06
in.
9:06
And
9:07
again,
9:07
goes
9:07
back
9:08
to
9:08
what
9:08
you
9:08
guys
9:08
are
9:08
doing.
9:09
My
9:09
biggest
9:09
complaint
9:10
in
9:10
10
9:10
years
9:10
of
9:11
using
9:11
those
9:11
fans
9:11
plus
9:13
is
9:13
the
9:13
homeowner
9:14
couldn't
9:14
hear
9:14
when
9:14
it
9:14
was
9:14
on.
9:15
On
9:15
a
9:15
high
9:16
ceiling.
9:17
Is
9:17
it
9:17
even
9:17
working?
9:18
Yeah,
9:18
it's
9:18
working.
9:19
Yeah.
9:20
Yeah,
9:20
I
9:20
know.
9:21
Just
9:21
because
9:21
you
9:21
can't
9:21
hear
9:21
it
9:22
two
9:22
rooms
9:22
away
9:22
doesn't
9:22
mean
9:23
it's
9:23
not
9:23
working
9:24
right.
9:24
Exactly.
9:26
And
9:26
much
9:26
to
9:27
my
9:27
chagrin,
9:27
I'm
9:28
like,
9:28
they
9:28
put
9:29
Bluetooth.
9:30
We
9:30
have
9:30
a,
9:30
we
9:31
actually
9:31
have
9:31
a
9:31
Bluetooth
9:32
band
9:32
now
9:32
that
9:33
will
9:33
play
9:33
the
9:33
radio.
9:35
Cool.
9:35
And
9:35
I'm
9:35
like,
9:36
oh,
9:36
my
9:36
gosh,
9:36
you
9:36
guys.
9:37
You
9:37
know,
9:38
first
9:38
of
9:38
all,
9:38
I
9:38
already
9:39
wrestle
9:39
with
9:40
builders
9:40
based
9:40
on
9:41
cost
9:41
and
9:41
function
9:42
and
9:42
value.
9:43
Right?
9:43
But
9:44
a
9:44
Bluetooth
9:44
fan.
9:45
And
9:45
I
9:45
love
9:45
the
9:45
idea
9:45
of
9:46
being
9:46
able
9:46
to
9:46
put
9:46
the
9:46
speaker
9:47
in
9:47
the
9:47
fan,
9:47
but
9:48
the
9:48
reality
9:48
is
9:49
I
9:49
got
9:49
other
9:49
ways
9:50
to
9:50
get
9:50
music
9:50
in
9:50
my
9:51
bathroom
9:51
if
9:51
I
9:51
really
9:52
want
9:52
it.
9:53
It's
9:53
just,
9:54
you
9:54
know,
9:54
it
9:55
just
9:55
cracks
9:55
me
9:55
up.
9:56
How,
9:56
how?
9:56
Vent
9:56
fans.
9:57
Now
9:57
I
9:58
will
9:58
tell
9:58
you
9:58
that
9:59
the
9:59
lighting
9:59
on
10:00
fans
10:01
has
10:01
evolved.
10:03
Yeah,
10:04
right.
10:04
We
10:05
have,
10:05
I've
10:06
got
10:06
color
10:06
changing
10:07
lights
10:07
that
10:07
you
10:07
can
10:08
change
10:08
the
10:08
temperature
10:09
of
10:09
the
10:09
light,
10:09
the
10:10
brightness
10:10
of
10:10
the
10:10
light.
10:11
They're
10:11
all
10:11
dimmable.
10:12
The
10:12
LED
10:13
lights
10:13
are
10:13
the.
10:14
Some
10:14
of
10:14
the
10:14
most
10:14
robust.
10:15
When
10:15
I
10:15
first
10:16
started
10:16
out
10:16
in
10:16
the
10:16
industry
10:17
15
10:18
years
10:18
ago,
10:18
if
10:19
you
10:19
came
10:19
to
10:19
me
10:19
and
10:19
said,
10:20
hey,
10:20
should
10:20
I
10:20
put
10:21
a
10:21
lighted
10:21
fan
10:21
in?
10:21
I
10:22
would
10:22
say,
10:22
heck
10:23
no.
10:24
The
10:24
around
10:24
the
10:24
house
10:25
show
10:25
will
10:25
be
10:25
right
10:26
back
10:26
with
10:26
more
10:26
from
10:27
Ken
10:27
Nelson
10:28
from
10:28
Panasonic
10:29
Ecosystems.
10:30
We
10:30
are
10:30
talking
10:31
ventilation
10:32
when
10:32
we
10:32
come
10:32
back.
10:36
The
12:19
kids
12:20
these
12:20
days
12:20
will
12:21
never
12:22
understand.
12:25
What
12:25
it's
12:25
like
12:26
to
12:26
play
12:26
an
12:27
instrument.
12:31
What's
12:31
up.
12:31
This
12:31
is
12:31
Sticks
12:31
it
12:32
Inia
12:32
and
12:33
Satchel
12:33
from
12:34
Steel
12:34
Panther.
12:35
And
12:35
you
12:35
are
12:36
listening
12:36
to
12:37
around
12:37
the.
12:37
House
12:38
with
12:38
Eric
12:38
G.
12:39
Yeah,
12:40
we
12:40
love
12:41
Eric
12:41
G.
12:42
And
12:42
you
12:42
should,
12:42
too.
12:46
Welcome
12:47
back
12:47
to
12:47
the
12:47
around
12:48
the
12:48
House
12:48
show
12:48
with
12:48
Eric
12:49
G
12:49
And
12:49
John
12:50
Dudley.
12:51
To
12:51
find
12:51
out
12:51
more
12:51
about
12:52
us,
12:52
you
12:52
can
12:52
find
12:53
us
12:53
at
12:53
our
12:53
website,
12:54
aroundthehouseonline.com.
12:57
now
12:57
let's
12:57
get
12:58
back
12:58
with
12:58
more
12:58
from
12:59
Ken
12:59
Nelson
12:59
from
13:00
Panasonic
13:01
Ecosystems.
13:02
When
13:02
I
13:02
first
13:03
started
13:03
out
13:03
in
13:03
the
13:03
industry
13:04
15
13:05
years
13:05
ago,
13:05
if
13:06
you
13:06
came
13:06
to
13:06
me
13:06
and
13:06
said,
13:07
hey,
13:07
should
13:07
I
13:07
put
13:07
a
13:08
lighted
13:08
fan
13:08
in?
13:08
I
13:09
would
13:09
say,
13:09
heck
13:10
no,
13:11
because
13:11
I
13:12
could
13:12
put
13:12
a
13:12
thousand
13:13
fans
13:13
in
13:14
and
13:14
I
13:15
would
13:15
never
13:15
get
13:15
a
13:15
phone
13:15
call.
13:16
You
13:16
put
13:16
10
13:17
lighted
13:17
fans
13:18
in,
13:18
I
13:18
would
13:19
get
13:19
at
13:19
least
13:19
a
13:19
phone
13:20
call.
13:20
I
13:20
mean,
13:20
it
13:21
was
13:21
just.
13:21
They
13:21
were
13:21
so
13:22
unreliable.
13:23
But
13:23
now
13:23
these
13:23
new
13:24
chipset,
13:25
these
13:25
new
13:25
chipset
13:26
LED
13:26
lights,
13:27
I
13:28
swear
13:28
to
13:28
God,
13:28
I've
13:29
dropped
13:29
them,
13:30
I've
13:30
kicked
13:30
them
13:31
across
13:31
my
13:31
shop
13:31
floor,
13:32
plug
13:32
them
13:32
in,
13:33
boom.
13:33
Look
13:33
like
13:34
it's
13:34
here.
13:35
So
13:35
lighting
13:36
has
13:36
really,
13:37
really
13:37
changed.
13:38
I
13:39
will
13:39
say
13:39
the
13:39
Bluetooth
13:40
has
13:40
one
13:41
useful
13:41
place
13:42
in
13:42
the
13:42
powder
13:42
room
13:43
that's
13:43
right
13:43
next
13:44
to
13:44
everybody
13:45
that's
13:45
having
13:46
the
13:46
party
13:46
down
13:46
there.
13:47
You
13:48
can
13:48
give
13:48
the
13:48
code
13:48
to
13:49
people
13:49
to
13:49
log
13:49
in
13:50
if
13:50
they're
13:50
not
13:50
feeling
13:51
well.
13:52
And
13:52
then
13:52
if
13:52
you
13:52
want
13:53
to
13:53
Hijack
13:53
it
13:53
with
13:54
YouTube
13:54
sounds,
13:55
you
13:55
can
13:55
do
13:55
that
13:55
when
13:56
you're
13:56
having
13:56
the
13:56
friends
13:56
over,
13:57
but
13:58
play
13:58
your
13:58
own
13:58
stuff
13:59
while
13:59
they're
13:59
in
13:59
there.
14:00
But
14:00
you
14:00
can.
14:01
I
14:01
gotta
14:01
tell
14:01
you,
14:01
though,
14:02
I
14:02
always
14:02
lean
14:02
towards
14:04
what's
14:04
the
14:04
best
14:05
thing
14:05
for
14:06
the
14:06
structure
14:06
and
14:07
the
14:07
people
14:07
that
14:07
are
14:08
there.
14:08
Right.
14:08
The
14:09
best
14:09
thing
14:09
for
14:09
the
14:09
structure
14:10
is
14:10
moisture
14:10
management.
14:11
The
14:11
best
14:12
thing
14:12
for
14:12
people
14:12
is
14:13
indoor
14:13
air
14:13
quality.
14:14
So
14:15
honestly,
14:16
there's
14:16
still
14:16
place
14:16
in
14:17
there
14:17
where
14:17
music
14:17
kind
14:18
of
14:18
comes
14:18
into
14:18
that
14:18
mix.
14:19
But
14:19
I'm
14:19
a
14:20
bit
14:20
of
14:20
a
14:20
pure
14:20
entertainment
14:21
product.
14:22
Yeah,
14:22
yeah.
14:22
If
14:23
I'm
14:23
going
14:23
to
14:23
spend
14:23
money,
14:24
I
14:24
want
14:24
to
14:25
put
14:25
it
14:25
where
14:26
the
14:26
squeeze
14:27
is
14:28
the
14:28
juicer
14:28
worth
14:28
the
14:29
squeeze.
14:29
Right.
14:29
But
14:30
yeah,
14:30
yeah,
14:30
that's,
14:30
that's.
14:31
I
14:31
don't
14:31
want
14:31
to
14:31
deal
14:31
with
14:31
it.
14:32
I'm
14:32
just
14:32
saying
14:32
that.
14:33
Not
14:34
the
14:34
best
14:34
value.
14:34
I
14:34
like
14:34
it,
14:35
Ken.
14:35
I
14:35
like
14:35
it.
14:36
I
14:36
want
14:36
to
14:36
talk.
14:36
I
14:37
mean,
14:37
we've
14:37
talked
14:37
about
14:37
kitchens
14:38
and
14:38
that
14:38
stuff,
14:39
but
14:39
kitchens
14:40
are
14:40
so
14:41
important
14:41
in
14:41
this
14:41
whole
14:42
mix
14:42
of
14:42
just
14:43
good
14:44
ventilation.
14:44
And
14:44
I'm
14:45
not
14:45
talking
14:45
about
14:46
just
14:46
turning
14:47
on
14:47
that
14:47
little
14:47
tiny
14:48
thing,
14:48
the
14:48
microwave.
14:49
Because
14:49
the
14:49
microwave
14:50
is
14:50
probably
14:50
the
14:50
worst
14:51
ventilation
14:52
product
14:52
in
14:53
the
14:53
world
14:53
for
14:54
moving
14:54
air.
14:55
When
14:55
you
14:55
see
14:55
those
14:56
over
14:56
the
14:56
range.
14:56
Microwaves,
14:57
as
14:57
a
14:57
designer,
14:58
I
14:58
refuse
14:58
to
14:58
put
14:59
them
14:59
in
14:59
unless
14:59
it
14:59
was
15:00
a
15:01
must
15:01
have
15:01
in
15:01
like
15:02
a
15:02
condo
15:02
or
15:03
something
15:03
like
15:03
that
15:03
where
15:04
you're
15:04
like,
15:04
okay,
15:05
I'm
15:05
stuck
15:05
here.
15:06
This
15:06
is
15:06
the
15:06
only
15:06
thing.
15:07
But
15:08
really
15:08
having
15:08
good
15:09
ventilation
15:09
in
15:09
there
15:10
really
15:11
changes
15:11
your
15:11
indoor
15:12
air
15:12
quality
15:13
just
15:14
so
15:14
quickly.
15:15
If
15:15
you're
15:15
cooking
15:15
on
15:15
that
15:16
cooking
15:16
service.
15:17
Right,
15:17
right.
15:18
And
15:18
again,
15:19
one
15:19
of
15:19
the
15:19
challenges
15:20
in
15:20
the
15:20
kitchen
15:20
is
15:20
when
15:21
you're
15:21
cooking,
15:22
you're
15:22
not
15:22
just
15:23
vaporizing
15:23
water,
15:24
you're
15:25
picking
15:25
up
15:26
things
15:26
that
15:26
are
15:27
into
15:27
the
15:27
food
15:27
groups
15:28
that
15:28
you're
15:28
cooking,
15:28
starches
15:29
and
15:29
whatnot.
15:30
If
15:30
you
15:30
think
15:30
about
15:31
in
15:31
the
15:31
way
15:31
back
15:31
when
15:32
we
15:32
were
15:32
kids
15:32
in
15:32
school
15:33
and
15:33
you
15:33
wanted
15:33
to
15:33
make
15:33
glue,
15:34
you
15:34
used
15:34
a
15:34
starchy
15:35
material
15:35
and
15:36
water
15:37
and
15:37
it
15:37
would
15:37
adhere,
15:38
Right.
15:38
So
15:38
if
15:39
you
15:39
vaporize
15:40
that,
15:40
put
15:40
that
15:40
into
15:40
the
15:41
air,
15:42
all
15:42
that
15:42
does
15:42
is
15:43
find
15:43
a
15:43
surface
15:43
to
15:44
adhere
15:44
to.
15:45
And
15:45
now
15:46
that
15:46
starch
15:46
becomes
15:47
food
15:47
for
15:48
mold
15:48
and
15:48
mildew.
15:49
And
15:49
literally
15:50
that's
15:50
the
15:50
first
15:51
step
15:51
to
15:51
having
15:52
compromised
15:53
breathing
15:54
issues
15:54
when
15:54
you
15:54
live
15:55
in
15:55
a
15:55
unit
15:55
that's
15:56
had
15:56
mold
15:56
and
15:57
mildew
15:57
over
15:58
and
15:58
over,
15:58
over
15:58
again.
15:58
I
15:59
just,
15:59
I
15:59
remember
16:00
we
16:00
went
16:00
into
16:00
a
16:01
weatherization
16:01
project
16:02
in
16:02
Seattle
16:03
and
16:03
we
16:03
went
16:03
into
16:04
a
16:04
low
16:04
income
16:04
thing.
16:05
And
16:06
literally
16:06
in
16:07
the
16:07
kitchen
16:07
you
16:07
could
16:07
see
16:08
where
16:08
a
16:08
picture
16:08
frame
16:09
was.
16:10
Right.
16:10
Because
16:10
it
16:11
was
16:11
white
16:11
behind
16:12
it
16:12
and
16:12
yellow
16:13
all
16:13
the
16:13
way
16:13
around.
16:14
I
16:14
mean,
16:15
that's
16:15
just
16:16
material.
16:17
It's
16:17
just
16:17
material.
16:19
It
16:19
is.
16:19
And
16:19
it's
16:20
interesting.
16:20
I
16:20
really
16:21
wish
16:21
that
16:22
there's
16:22
another
16:23
company
16:23
you
16:23
see
16:23
in
16:23
the
16:24
home
16:24
centers
16:24
and
16:24
it's
16:24
the
16:24
same
16:25
one
16:25
I
16:25
was
16:25
ripping
16:25
on
16:25
earlier.
16:26
And
16:26
I'm
16:26
not
16:26
going
16:26
to
16:26
use
16:27
the
16:27
name,
16:27
but
16:28
these
16:29
recycled
16:30
vent
16:30
hoods,
16:30
I
16:30
wish
16:31
that
16:31
we
16:31
would
16:31
just
16:32
ban
16:32
them
16:32
because
16:34
we
16:34
need
16:34
to
16:35
not
16:35
have
16:35
the.
16:36
I
16:36
call
16:36
them
16:36
forehead
16:37
dusters
16:37
because
16:38
that's
16:38
all
16:38
they
16:38
do.
16:38
They
16:39
don't
16:39
do
16:39
anything.
16:40
They're
16:40
worthless
16:41
in
16:41
my
16:41
opinion.
16:42
It's
16:42
the
16:43
recirculation
16:44
application
16:45
and
16:45
really
16:45
all
16:46
it
16:46
tries
16:46
to
16:46
do
16:46
is
16:47
diffuse
16:48
that
16:48
moisture
16:48
load
16:49
throughout
16:49
a
16:50
wider
16:50
space.
16:51
Quicker.
16:51
It
16:51
doesn't
16:52
remove
16:52
it,
16:52
it
16:53
just
16:53
pushes
16:54
it
16:54
out
16:54
farther
16:55
and
16:55
faster
16:55
out
16:55
into
16:56
the
16:56
space.
16:56
Yeah.
16:57
It's
16:57
unfortunate,
16:58
but
16:58
there's
16:59
a
16:59
lot
16:59
of
16:59
them
16:59
out
16:59
there.
17:00
It's
17:00
an
17:00
annuity
17:01
to
17:01
Panasonic,
17:02
to
17:02
our
17:02
ventilation
17:02
team.
17:03
Those
17:03
are
17:03
annuities
17:04
because
17:05
at
17:05
some
17:05
point
17:06
they're
17:06
going
17:07
to
17:07
have
17:07
to
17:07
figure
17:07
out
17:07
that
17:08
that's
17:08
a
17:09
problem.
17:09
And
17:09
they'll
17:09
put
17:10
a
17:10
fan
17:10
in.
17:10
Yeah.
17:11
And
17:11
that's
17:12
building
17:12
code.
17:12
I
17:13
mean,
17:13
that's
17:13
here
17:13
in
17:14
where,
17:15
where
17:15
you
17:15
live,
17:15
Ken,
17:16
up
17:16
in
17:16
Washington,
17:17
where
17:17
I
17:17
live,
17:17
down
17:17
in
17:18
Oregon
17:18
and
17:18
many
17:19
states
17:19
across
17:19
the
17:20
country,
17:20
when
17:21
you
17:21
do
17:21
that
17:21
kitchen
17:21
model,
17:22
they
17:22
require
17:23
you
17:23
to
17:23
upgrade
17:24
that
17:24
ventilation
17:25
and
17:25
make
17:26
it
17:26
vent
17:26
outside.
17:27
And
17:27
like
17:27
in
17:27
Oregon
17:28
here,
17:28
there
17:28
are
17:28
no
17:29
working
17:30
around
17:30
that.
17:30
It's
17:31
like
17:31
that
17:31
has
17:31
to
17:31
vent
17:32
outside
17:32
so
17:33
gets
17:33
a
17:33
little
17:33
interesting
17:34
when
17:34
you
17:34
got
17:34
condos
17:35
and
17:35
HOA
17:36
boards
17:36
and
17:36
things
17:37
like
17:37
that,
17:37
where
17:37
you're
17:37
like,
17:37
hey,
17:37
I
17:38
got
17:38
to
17:38
drill
17:38
a
17:38
hole
17:38
in
17:38
the
17:38
outside.
17:39
But
17:39
it
17:40
has
17:40
to
17:40
happen,
17:41
you
17:41
know.
17:41
In
17:42
our
17:42
climates
17:43
here,
17:43
our
17:43
climates
17:44
in
17:44
Washington,
17:44
Oregon,
17:45
Idaho,
17:46
honestly,
17:47
pretty
17:47
much
17:47
the
17:47
northern
17:48
part
17:48
of
17:48
the
17:48
US
17:49
we
17:50
do
17:50
have.
17:50
I
17:51
think
17:51
we
17:51
have
17:51
pretty
17:52
darn
17:52
good
17:52
codes
17:52
and
17:53
code
17:53
acceptance
17:54
through
17:54
inhalation.
17:55
And
17:55
part
17:56
of
17:56
that
17:56
is
17:56
because
17:56
the
17:57
cost
17:57
of
17:57
failure
17:58
comes
17:58
back
17:58
to
17:58
the
17:58
building
17:59
or
17:59
the
18:00
property
18:00
manager.
18:01
But
18:01
I
18:02
do
18:02
a
18:02
lot
18:02
of
18:02
work
18:03
in
18:03
the
18:03
South.
18:04
Texas
18:04
and
18:05
Florida.
18:05
Florida
18:06
and
18:06
everything
18:06
in
18:06
between.
18:08
And
18:08
their
18:09
codes
18:09
are
18:09
not
18:09
nearly
18:10
as.
18:10
As
18:11
manageable
18:11
there.
18:12
Right.
18:13
So
18:14
it's.
18:14
It's
18:14
a
18:15
different
18:15
educational
18:16
process
18:16
to
18:16
tell
18:17
someone
18:17
in
18:17
the
18:17
south
18:18
about
18:18
how
18:19
to
18:19
manage
18:19
water
18:19
vapor,
18:20
how
18:20
to
18:20
manage
18:20
moisture
18:21
within
18:21
the
18:21
house
18:22
when
18:22
their
18:23
humidity
18:23
outside
18:24
is
18:24
far,
18:24
far
18:24
higher
18:25
than
18:25
the
18:25
humidity
18:25
inside.
18:27
But
18:27
it
18:27
can
18:27
be
18:27
done.
18:28
But
18:28
it
18:28
can
18:29
be
18:29
done,
18:29
and
18:29
it
18:29
has
18:30
to
18:30
be
18:30
done.
18:31
Yeah,
18:32
it's
18:32
smart.
18:33
John,
18:33
how
18:33
many
18:34
times
18:34
did
18:34
we
18:34
tear
18:35
into
18:35
stuff
18:35
and
18:35
we
18:35
see
18:36
the
18:36
vent
18:37
fan
18:37
that
18:37
was
18:38
venting
18:38
into
18:39
between
18:39
the
18:39
floors
18:40
and
18:40
the,
18:41
you
18:41
know,
18:41
in
18:41
the
18:42
joist
18:42
bays,
18:42
or
18:43
it
18:43
went
18:43
right
18:43
up
18:43
out
18:44
of
18:44
the
18:44
kitchen,
18:44
right
18:45
into
18:45
the
18:46
attic
18:46
space,
18:46
and
18:46
there's
18:47
a
18:47
plastic
18:48
dryer
18:48
vent
18:49
laying
18:49
across
18:49
the
18:49
insulation.
18:50
That's
18:50
kind
18:50
of
18:51
just
18:51
going
18:51
to
18:51
nowhere.
18:52
That's.
18:53
The
18:53
other
18:53
half
18:53
of
18:53
this.
18:54
Is.
18:54
Isn't
18:54
that
18:55
how
18:55
you're
18:55
supposed
18:55
to
18:55
install
18:56
them?
18:56
You
18:56
just
18:56
throw
18:57
the
18:57
tube
18:57
up
18:57
in
18:57
the
18:58
attic
18:58
and
18:58
call
18:58
it
18:58
a
18:58
day?
18:59
It'll.
19:00
It'll
19:00
go
19:00
out
19:00
the
19:01
sides
19:01
on
19:01
the,
19:02
on
19:02
the
19:02
gable
19:03
vents.
19:03
Right.
19:03
That's
19:04
fine,
19:04
isn't
19:05
it?
19:05
That
19:05
is,
19:05
if
19:05
it's
19:06
out
19:06
of
19:06
sight,
19:06
it's
19:07
not
19:07
a
19:07
problem.
19:08
Yeah.
19:09
Until
19:09
science
19:10
gets
19:11
right,
19:11
just
19:12
right.
19:13
I
19:13
don't
19:13
even
19:13
want
19:14
to
19:14
put
19:14
that
19:14
out
19:14
there.
19:15
That
19:16
is
19:16
inherent.
19:16
Even
19:17
if
19:17
somebody
19:17
wants
19:17
to
19:17
clip
19:18
this
19:18
up,
19:18
let's
19:18
make
19:19
that
19:19
very
19:19
clear.
19:20
That
19:20
has
19:20
to
19:20
go
19:20
to
19:20
the
19:21
exterior
19:22
of
19:22
the
19:22
building.
19:23
Right.
19:25
So
19:25
many
19:25
problems
19:26
in
19:26
the
19:26
Northwest.
19:28
Yeah.
19:28
And
19:28
it
19:28
gets
19:29
you.
19:29
You're
19:29
right,
19:29
though.
19:30
And,
19:30
Cam,
19:30
we
19:30
got
19:31
a
19:31
lot
19:31
of
19:31
stations
19:31
in
19:31
the
19:31
south
19:32
that
19:32
listen
19:32
to
19:32
us
19:32
down
19:33
there.
19:33
And
19:34
so
19:34
many
19:34
times
19:35
in
19:35
building
19:35
codes
19:36
and
19:36
areas,
19:36
they
19:36
go,
19:36
hey,
19:36
it's
19:37
got
19:37
a
19:37
window.
19:37
It'll
19:37
open
19:38
up.
19:38
Those
19:38
people
19:38
are
19:39
not
19:39
opening
19:39
that
19:39
up
19:40
on
19:40
a
19:40
95
19:41
degree
19:41
day
19:42
with
19:42
95%
19:43
humidity.
19:44
But
19:44
you
19:44
still
19:44
gotta
19:45
get
19:45
it
19:45
out
19:45
of
19:45
there.
19:46
And
19:46
I
19:46
think
19:47
the
19:47
biggest
19:47
problem
19:47
we
19:48
see
19:48
out
19:48
there
19:49
with
19:49
building
19:50
code
19:50
builders,
19:51
homeowners,
19:52
is
19:52
they
19:53
think
19:53
it's
19:53
just
19:53
a
19:53
humidity
19:54
issue.
19:54
But
19:55
the
19:55
humidity
19:55
is
19:55
just
19:56
part
19:56
of
19:56
that.
19:56
It's
19:56
the
19:57
chemicals
19:57
that
19:57
you're
19:57
using
19:58
in
19:58
the
19:58
Bathroom.
19:58
It's
19:59
the
19:59
chemicals
19:59
in
19:59
the
19:59
kitchen.
20:00
You
20:01
need
20:01
to
20:01
get
20:01
that
20:01
stuff
20:01
out
20:02
of
20:02
there.
20:02
And
20:02
I
20:02
also
20:02
want
20:03
to
20:03
say
20:03
for
20:03
all
20:03
the.
20:04
There's
20:05
certain
20:05
people
20:05
out
20:05
there
20:05
that
20:06
I'll
20:06
say
20:06
are
20:06
the.
20:06
Are
20:07
the
20:07
gas
20:07
range
20:08
haters.
20:09
Well,
20:10
guess
20:10
what?
20:11
If
20:11
you
20:11
cook
20:11
on
20:12
an
20:12
induction
20:12
cooktop,
20:13
food
20:14
that
20:15
you're
20:15
cooking,
20:16
it
20:16
is
20:17
still
20:17
putting
20:17
off
20:17
dangerous
20:18
stuff.
20:18
So
20:19
it
20:19
is
20:19
not
20:19
just
20:20
a
20:20
gas
20:21
combustion
20:22
issue.
20:23
You're
20:23
still
20:24
putting
20:24
out
20:25
pretty
20:25
bad
20:26
air
20:26
with
20:27
a
20:27
really
20:27
high
20:27
PM
20:28
2.5
20:28
that's
20:29
still
20:29
going
20:29
out
20:29
inside
20:30
the
20:30
room,
20:30
no
20:30
matter
20:30
what
20:31
surface
20:31
you're
20:31
cooking
20:31
on.
20:32
Combustion
20:33
is
20:33
another
20:33
form
20:34
of
20:34
phase
20:35
change,
20:35
right?
20:35
You're
20:36
going
20:36
from
20:37
one
20:37
gas
20:37
to
20:38
a
20:38
much
20:39
smaller
20:39
gas.
20:40
Just
20:40
like
20:40
water.
20:41
Boiling
20:41
water
20:41
is
20:42
a
20:42
phase
20:42
change.
20:42
You
20:43
go
20:43
from
20:43
liquid
20:43
water
20:44
to
20:44
water
20:45
vapor
20:45
that
20:45
you're
20:46
changing
20:46
that
20:46
phase.
20:47
And
20:47
once
20:48
it
20:48
gets
20:48
aerosolized,
20:49
one
20:49
of
20:50
the
20:50
things
20:50
that
20:50
we
20:50
have
20:50
to
20:50
remember
20:51
is
20:51
as
20:51
humans,
20:52
you
20:52
know
20:52
what?
20:52
I
20:53
can
20:53
swim
20:53
in
20:53
a
20:53
dirty
20:54
bathtub,
20:55
but
20:55
doggone
20:56
it,
20:56
if
20:56
I
20:56
have
20:56
a
20:56
dirty
20:57
air
20:57
and
20:58
I
20:58
breathe
20:58
that
20:59
in,
20:59
that's
21:00
passing
21:00
all
21:01
of
21:01
my
21:01
body's
21:02
defenses
21:03
into
21:03
my
21:03
body.
21:03
And
21:04
that's
21:04
a
21:04
problem,
21:05
right?
21:05
The
21:05
around
21:06
the
21:06
House
21:06
show
21:06
will
21:07
be
21:07
right
21:07
back
21:07
with
21:08
more
21:08
from
21:08
Ken
21:09
Nelson
21:09
from
21:09
Panasonic
21:10
Ecosystems.
21:11
We
21:12
are
21:12
talking
21:12
ventilation.
22:51
When
22:51
we
22:52
come
22:52
back,
22:56
foreign.
23:05
The
23:06
House
23:06
show
23:06
with
23:06
Eric
23:07
G.
23:07
And
23:07
John
23:07
Dudley.
23:08
To
23:09
find
23:09
out
23:09
more
23:09
about
23:09
us,
23:10
you
23:10
can
23:10
find
23:10
us
23:11
at
23:11
our
23:11
website,
23:12
around
23:12
the
23:12
House
23:13
online
23:13
dot
23:14
com.
23:15
Now
23:15
let's
23:15
get
23:15
back
23:16
with
23:16
more
23:16
from
23:16
Ken
23:17
Nelson
23:17
from
23:18
Panasonic
23:18
Ecosystems.
23:20
We
23:20
are
23:20
talking
23:21
ventilation.
23:22
I
23:22
wanted
23:22
to
23:23
touch
23:23
base
23:23
real
23:23
quick
23:23
on
23:24
the
23:24
opening
23:24
the
23:24
window
23:25
idea.
23:25
And
23:26
while
23:26
I
23:27
love
23:27
the.
23:27
I
23:27
love
23:28
having
23:28
an
23:28
open
23:28
window
23:29
at
23:29
my
23:29
house,
23:29
don't
23:30
get
23:30
me
23:30
wrong,
23:31
but
23:31
keep
23:31
in
23:32
mind
23:32
that
23:32
you
23:32
don't
23:33
necessarily
23:34
have
23:34
ventilation
23:35
with
23:35
an
23:35
open
23:35
window.
23:36
People
23:36
forget
23:37
in
23:37
our
23:37
natural
23:38
physics
23:38
that
23:38
you
23:38
have
23:39
to
23:39
have
23:39
a
23:39
pressure
23:40
change
23:40
from
23:40
inside
23:41
to
23:41
outside
23:42
for
23:42
air
23:42
to
23:42
move.
23:43
It's
23:43
when
23:43
the
23:43
wind
23:44
blows,
23:44
right?
23:44
When
23:44
the
23:44
wind
23:45
blows,
23:45
you
23:45
have
23:45
higher
23:45
pressure
23:46
on
23:46
one
23:46
side,
23:46
lower
23:47
pressure
23:47
on
23:47
the
23:47
other
23:48
side.
23:48
The
23:48
wind
23:48
moves
23:49
and
23:49
tries
23:49
to
23:49
balance
23:50
itself
23:50
out.
23:50
The
23:51
same
23:51
thing
23:51
has
23:51
to
23:51
happen
23:52
in
23:52
a
23:52
house.
23:52
I
23:52
have
23:52
to
23:53
have
23:53
a
23:53
pressure
23:54
difference
23:54
in
23:55
the
23:55
house.
23:56
Whether
23:56
it's
23:56
higher
23:56
or
23:57
lower,
23:57
it
23:57
doesn't
23:57
matter.
23:58
And
23:58
move
23:59
the
23:59
air
23:59
through
23:59
the
23:59
window
24:00
opening.
24:00
You
24:00
could
24:00
have
24:00
a
24:01
window
24:01
wide
24:01
open
24:01
and
24:02
still
24:02
not
24:03
get
24:03
ventilation.
24:04
The
24:04
randomness
24:05
of
24:06
open
24:06
windows,
24:06
and
24:07
I'll
24:07
tell
24:07
you
24:07
that
24:08
the
24:08
way
24:08
I
24:09
always
24:09
frame
24:09
this,
24:10
the
24:10
builders
24:11
and
24:11
renovators
24:12
and
24:12
whatnot,
24:13
is
24:13
that
24:13
mechanical
24:14
ventilation
24:15
should
24:15
be,
24:16
or
24:16
all
24:16
of
24:16
ventilation
24:17
should
24:17
be
24:18
predictable
24:18
and
24:18
uneventful.
24:20
And
24:20
that
24:20
means
24:20
I
24:21
don't
24:21
want
24:21
to
24:21
wait
24:21
for
24:21
the
24:22
weather
24:22
to
24:22
change.
24:23
I
24:23
don't
24:23
want
24:24
to
24:24
wait
24:24
to
24:24
have
24:24
a
24:25
temperature
24:25
delta
24:26
inside
24:26
to
24:26
outside,
24:26
because
24:27
warmer
24:27
air
24:28
is
24:28
going
24:28
to
24:28
have
24:28
higher
24:29
pressure
24:29
than
24:29
cooler
24:29
air.
24:30
So
24:31
I
24:31
want
24:31
it
24:32
predictable
24:32
and
24:32
uneventful.
24:33
And
24:33
that's
24:33
why
24:33
we
24:33
use
24:34
an
24:34
exhaust
24:34
fan.
24:34
I
24:34
mechanically
24:35
draw
24:35
air
24:36
out,
24:37
and
24:37
air
24:38
naturally
24:38
comes
24:39
in
24:39
to
24:39
fill
24:39
the
24:39
void.
24:40
And
24:41
many
24:41
times,
24:41
Ken,
24:42
that
24:42
air
24:42
outside
24:43
is
24:43
way
24:43
worse
24:44
than
24:44
the
24:44
air
24:44
inside.
24:46
It
24:46
can
24:46
be.
24:46
That's
24:47
another
24:47
issue.
24:47
Look
24:48
at
24:48
fire
24:48
season
24:48
on
24:49
the
24:49
West
24:49
Coast.
24:49
Would
24:50
we
24:50
get
24:50
wildfires
24:51
out
24:51
there?
24:52
You
24:52
look
24:52
at
24:52
the.
24:53
You
24:53
look
24:53
at
24:53
the.
24:53
You
24:54
look
24:54
at
24:54
the
24:54
air
24:54
quality
24:55
rating,
24:55
you're
24:55
like,
24:55
wow,
24:56
that's
24:56
our
24:57
area.
24:57
Our
24:58
air
24:58
today
24:59
in
24:59
our
24:59
area
24:59
is
24:59
worse
25:00
than
25:00
Beijing,
25:01
China,
25:01
on
25:02
a
25:02
bad
25:02
day.
25:02
Okay,
25:03
maybe
25:04
I
25:04
don't
25:04
want
25:04
to
25:04
open
25:04
the
25:05
window
25:05
up
25:05
and
25:05
ventilate,
25:06
because
25:07
I
25:07
better
25:07
do
25:08
something
25:08
different.
25:09
Eric
25:09
Panasoni
25:11
has
25:11
got
25:11
this
25:12
ongoing
25:12
experiment
25:13
going
25:13
on
25:14
in
25:14
the
25:14
south
25:14
in
25:15
Houston,
25:15
Texas.
25:16
We
25:16
literally
25:17
built
25:17
a
25:17
house
25:18
in
25:18
Houston,
25:18
Texas.
25:19
And
25:20
one
25:20
of
25:20
the
25:20
reasons
25:20
we
25:21
chose
25:21
Houston
25:22
is
25:23
because
25:23
the
25:23
outdoor
25:24
air
25:25
down
25:25
there
25:25
is
25:26
uncomfortable,
25:27
would
25:27
be
25:27
the
25:27
nice
25:28
way
25:28
to
25:28
say
25:28
it.
25:29
It's
25:29
often
25:30
super
25:30
hot
25:31
and
25:31
super
25:31
humid.
25:33
But
25:33
even
25:33
more
25:34
so
25:34
in
25:35
Houston,
25:35
they
25:35
have
25:35
one
25:36
of
25:36
the
25:36
highest
25:36
PM2.5
25:37
load
25:38
areas
25:38
in
25:39
the
25:39
US
25:39
and
25:40
what
25:40
happens
25:40
is.
25:41
And
25:41
you
25:41
and
25:42
I
25:42
will
25:42
know
25:42
how
25:42
this
25:43
works,
25:43
because
25:43
we
25:44
live
25:44
near
25:44
the
25:44
coastline.
25:45
We
25:45
have
25:45
an
25:45
onshore
25:46
flow,
25:46
right,
25:46
that
25:47
comes
25:47
off
25:47
the
25:47
coast.
25:48
So
25:48
they're
25:48
on
25:49
the
25:49
Gulf.
25:49
And
25:50
that
25:50
onshore
25:50
flow
25:51
goes
25:51
by
25:51
all
25:52
these
25:52
petroleum
25:53
plants
25:54
where
25:54
they're
25:54
outgassing
25:56
2.5.
25:57
And
25:57
that
25:57
onshore
25:58
flow
25:58
holds
25:59
all
25:59
of
26:00
that
26:00
particulate
26:01
matter
26:01
and
26:01
drags
26:02
it
26:02
across
26:03
the
26:03
state
26:04
going
26:04
northward
26:05
from
26:05
south
26:05
to
26:05
north.
26:06
And
26:06
at
26:06
about
26:07
Houston
26:07
or
26:08
just
26:08
beyond
26:08
Houston
26:09
is
26:09
when
26:09
it
26:09
gets
26:09
warm
26:10
enough
26:10
to
26:10
vapor
26:11
change
26:11
and
26:11
lift.
26:12
So
26:12
in
26:12
the
26:12
meantime,
26:13
you
26:13
have
26:13
low.
26:14
You
26:14
have
26:14
low
26:15
air
26:15
streams
26:16
dragging
26:17
PM
26:17
2.5.
26:18
They
26:18
have
26:18
obnoxious
26:19
PM
26:20
2.5
26:21
particulates
26:21
in
26:22
that
26:22
Houston
26:22
market.
26:23
Yeah,
26:23
that
26:24
is
26:24
so
26:24
bad.
26:25
And
26:25
you're
26:25
right.
26:25
That's
26:26
a
26:26
great
26:26
place
26:27
to
26:27
sit
26:27
there
26:28
and
26:28
do
26:28
that
26:29
testing,
26:29
because,
26:30
again,
26:31
you
26:31
get
26:31
down
26:31
in
26:32
Texas
26:32
and
26:32
some
26:32
of
26:32
these
26:33
other
26:33
states,
26:33
unfortunately,
26:34
it
26:34
can
26:34
be
26:34
the
26:34
Wild
26:34
west
26:35
on
26:35
some
26:35
of
26:35
this
26:35
ventilation
26:36
issues.
26:37
So,
26:37
again,
26:38
that's
26:38
another
26:38
place
26:39
that's
26:39
good
26:39
to
26:39
do
26:39
the
26:39
math,
26:40
because
26:40
I
26:40
think
26:40
that
26:40
really
26:41
tells
26:41
a
26:41
perfect
26:42
story,
26:42
because
26:43
I've
26:43
had
26:43
homes
26:44
that
26:44
I've
26:44
seen
26:45
where
26:45
they're
26:46
right
26:46
next
26:46
to
26:46
a
26:46
beautiful
26:47
wetland,
26:47
but
26:47
it's
26:48
moldy,
26:48
marshy
26:49
mess
26:49
out
26:49
there,
26:50
and
26:50
that's
26:51
all
26:51
those
26:51
mold
26:52
spores
26:52
are
26:52
coming
26:52
in.
26:53
You
26:53
don't
26:53
want
26:53
to
26:53
be
26:53
opening
26:54
the
26:54
window
26:54
up
26:54
that
26:54
day.
26:55
Right,
26:55
exactly.
26:56
And
26:56
let
26:56
me
26:57
tell
26:57
you
26:57
some
26:57
of
26:57
the
26:57
findings
26:58
that
26:58
we're
26:58
getting
26:58
from
26:58
this
26:59
house.
26:59
And
26:59
be
27:00
honest
27:00
with
27:00
you.
27:00
We
27:00
built.
27:01
We
27:01
had
27:01
a
27:02
custom
27:02
home
27:02
builder
27:03
build
27:03
this
27:03
beautiful
27:03
house,
27:04
right?
27:04
And
27:05
soon
27:05
as
27:05
we
27:05
took
27:06
possession
27:06
of
27:06
it,
27:07
our
27:07
engineering
27:08
teams
27:08
moved
27:08
in
27:09
and
27:09
started
27:10
just
27:10
pasting
27:11
it
27:11
with
27:11
monitors
27:12
and
27:12
so
27:12
forth.
27:13
And
27:13
we've
27:13
had
27:13
it
27:13
running
27:14
now.
27:14
The
27:14
house
27:15
has
27:15
been
27:15
running
27:16
for
27:16
a
27:16
year.
27:16
We're
27:17
monitoring
27:17
all
27:17
this
27:18
stuff.
27:18
And
27:18
the
27:19
builder
27:19
is
27:19
just,
27:19
like,
27:20
beside
27:20
himself
27:21
looking
27:21
at
27:21
us
27:21
as
27:22
we're
27:22
putting
27:22
monitors
27:23
at,
27:23
you
27:24
know,
27:24
three
27:24
different
27:24
levels
27:25
in
27:25
the
27:25
vertical
27:26
column,
27:26
right?
27:26
On
27:27
every
27:27
room
27:27
has
27:27
at
27:28
least
27:28
nine
27:28
monitors
27:29
in
27:29
it
27:30
looking
27:30
at
27:30
different
27:30
things,
27:31
whether
27:31
it's
27:31
humidity,
27:32
temperature,
27:33
carbon
27:34
dioxide,
27:35
PM
27:35
2.5.
27:36
But
27:37
there's
27:37
so
27:37
much
27:38
stuff
27:38
that
27:38
we're
27:38
finding,
27:39
right?
27:39
First
27:40
of
27:40
all,
27:40
regarding
27:41
ERVs.
27:42
We're
27:42
running
27:42
an
27:43
ERV
27:43
in
27:43
there,
27:44
and
27:44
in
27:44
the
27:45
summertime,
27:46
we're
27:46
getting
27:46
a
27:47
90%
27:48
rejection
27:49
of
27:49
moisture
27:50
running
27:50
that
27:51
supply
27:51
air
27:51
through
27:52
the
27:52
RV,
27:53
meaning
27:53
that
27:54
if
27:54
it's
27:54
80%
27:55
humidity
27:56
outside,
27:57
I
27:57
can
27:58
put
27:58
air
27:58
in
27:58
the
27:59
house
27:59
at
28:00
55%
28:01
humidity.
28:02
I
28:02
mean,
28:03
literally,
28:03
we're.
28:04
We're.
28:04
And
28:04
what
28:05
happens
28:05
is.
28:05
And
28:06
I
28:06
don't
28:06
mean
28:06
to
28:06
go
28:06
all
28:06
sciency
28:07
on
28:07
everybody
28:08
here,
28:08
but
28:08
the
28:09
way
28:09
ERBs
28:09
work.
28:11
Yeah.
28:11
The
28:11
two
28:11
Airstreams
28:12
pass,
28:12
right?
28:13
And
28:13
I
28:13
have
28:13
a
28:13
hot
28:14
Airstream
28:14
and
28:14
a
28:14
cool
28:15
Airstream.
28:16
Hot.
28:16
Remember
28:16
I
28:16
said
28:17
hot
28:17
has
28:17
higher
28:17
pressure
28:18
than
28:18
a
28:18
cooler
28:19
Airstream.
28:20
As
28:20
they
28:20
pass
28:21
over
28:21
the
28:21
course
28:21
of
28:22
this
28:22
membrane
28:22
material,
28:23
which
28:23
is
28:23
much
28:24
like
28:24
Gore
28:24
Tex,
28:24
only
28:25
even
28:25
smaller.
28:26
As
28:26
it
28:27
passes
28:27
over,
28:27
that
28:27
hot
28:28
material
28:28
drives
28:29
into
28:30
the
28:30
cooler,
28:31
and
28:31
all
28:31
that
28:31
goes
28:32
right
28:32
back
28:32
outside.
28:33
So
28:34
we
28:34
wind
28:35
up
28:35
with
28:35
a
28:36
fraction
28:36
of
28:36
the
28:37
moisture
28:37
load
28:37
in
28:37
the
28:37
house.
28:38
So
28:38
now
28:39
as
28:39
the
28:39
house.
28:39
As
28:40
the
28:40
function
28:40
of
28:40
the
28:40
house,
28:41
our
28:41
dehumidifier,
28:42
we
28:42
put
28:42
a
28:42
dehumidifier
28:43
in
28:43
there,
28:44
but
28:44
it
28:44
hardly
28:45
ever
28:45
runs,
28:46
which
28:47
is
28:47
a
28:47
big
28:47
thing
28:47
if
28:48
you're
28:48
building
28:48
a
28:48
house
28:48
or
28:49
you're
28:49
owning
28:49
a
28:49
house
28:50
in
28:50
the
28:51
south.
28:51
Because
28:52
the
28:52
dehumidifier
28:53
is
28:53
an
28:53
expensive
28:54
device
28:55
to
28:55
operate.
28:56
I
28:56
mean,
28:57
it
28:57
is.
28:58
Now,
28:59
let's.
28:59
Yeah,
29:00
now
29:01
let's
29:01
talk
29:01
about
29:01
ERVs
29:02
for
29:02
a
29:02
minute.
29:02
So
29:03
let's.
29:03
Let's.
29:04
I
29:04
know
29:04
there's
29:04
a
29:04
lot
29:04
of
29:04
our
29:05
audience
29:05
out
29:05
there
29:05
going,
29:06
erv,
29:07
what
29:07
are
29:08
you
29:08
talking
29:08
about?
29:08
Of
29:09
course,
29:09
Energy
29:09
recovery
29:10
ventilator.
29:11
These
29:12
are
29:12
required
29:12
in
29:13
new
29:13
homes
29:13
across
29:14
the
29:14
country
29:14
and
29:14
even
29:15
remodels
29:15
in
29:15
places
29:16
like
29:16
Washington
29:16
state
29:17
and
29:17
things
29:18
like
29:18
that
29:18
now
29:18
as
29:18
well,
29:19
for,
29:19
of
29:20
course,
29:20
getting
29:20
fresh
29:20
air
29:21
inside
29:21
the
29:21
house.
29:22
So
29:22
let's.
29:22
Let's
29:23
dial
29:23
this
29:23
back
29:23
for
29:23
a
29:24
second,
29:24
Ken,
29:24
and
29:24
give
29:25
them
29:25
the
29:25
101
29:25
on
29:25
that
29:26
so
29:26
people
29:26
understand
29:26
it
29:27
okay,
29:27
so.
29:27
The
29:28
energy
29:28
recovery
29:28
ventilator
29:29
or
29:29
the
29:29
erv,
29:30
it
29:30
goes
29:30
back
29:30
to
29:31
that
29:31
mechanical
29:32
predictable
29:33
airflow
29:34
within
29:34
your
29:34
house.
29:35
Because
29:35
what's
29:35
happening
29:36
today
29:36
is
29:36
that
29:36
we
29:37
all
29:37
know
29:37
that
29:37
energy
29:38
costs
29:38
are
29:38
skyrocketing
29:39
everywhere.
29:40
So
29:41
the
29:41
builders
29:42
are
29:42
required
29:43
to
29:43
build
29:44
a
29:44
very
29:44
good
29:45
envelope.
29:46
When
29:46
we
29:46
talk
29:46
about
29:46
the
29:46
envelope
29:47
of
29:47
the
29:47
house,
29:48
it's
29:48
where
29:48
the
29:48
house,
29:49
all
29:49
the
29:49
heating
29:50
and
29:50
cooling
29:50
is
29:50
inside
29:51
the
29:51
envelope.
29:51
We
29:52
want
29:52
to
29:52
keep
29:52
this
29:52
envelope
29:53
nice
29:53
and,
29:54
and
29:54
tight
29:54
so
29:54
it
29:54
doesn't
29:55
leak
29:55
air
29:55
in
29:55
and
29:56
out.
29:56
My,
29:56
my
29:57
old
29:57
house
29:57
that
29:57
I
29:57
live
29:58
in
29:58
has
29:59
an
29:59
air
29:59
change
30:00
leakage
30:00
of
30:00
about
30:01
four
30:01
and
30:01
a
30:01
half
30:01
air
30:02
changes
30:02
per
30:02
hour.
30:03
Meaning
30:03
that
30:03
I
30:03
have
30:03
the
30:04
potential
30:05
for
30:05
this
30:05
2,000
30:06
square
30:06
foot
30:06
house
30:06
with
30:07
nine
30:07
foot
30:07
ceiling.
30:08
So
30:08
what
30:08
is
30:09
that?
30:09
A
30:09
18,000
30:10
cubic
30:10
feet
30:10
of
30:10
air
30:11
to
30:11
change
30:12
every
30:12
hour
30:13
four
30:13
and
30:14
a
30:14
half
30:14
times.
30:15
It's
30:15
obnoxious,
30:16
right?
30:17
So
30:17
we
30:18
want
30:18
to
30:18
get
30:18
a
30:18
tighter
30:19
house
30:19
so
30:19
I
30:19
don't
30:19
have
30:19
to
30:20
reheat
30:20
all
30:20
this
30:21
air
30:21
all
30:21
the
30:21
time.
30:22
But
30:22
on
30:22
the
30:22
other
30:22
hand,
30:23
remember
30:23
as
30:23
I
30:23
said,
30:23
if
30:24
there's
30:24
no
30:24
pressure
30:25
difference,
30:25
there's
30:26
no
30:26
reason
30:26
for
30:26
air
30:26
to
30:27
move
30:27
one
30:27
way
30:28
or
30:28
another.
30:29
So
30:29
we
30:29
would
30:29
mechanically
30:30
move
30:30
it.
30:31
We
30:31
have
30:31
an
30:31
ERV
30:32
that
30:32
is
30:33
simply
30:33
to
30:33
describe
30:34
the
30:34
erv.
30:35
It's
30:35
literally
30:36
two
30:36
fans
30:37
in
30:37
a
30:37
box.
30:38
One
30:38
fan
30:38
drives
30:38
air
30:39
out,
30:39
one
30:39
fan
30:39
drives
30:40
air
30:40
in.
30:41
And
30:41
as
30:42
those
30:42
two
30:42
air
30:42
streams
30:43
pass,
30:44
the
30:44
heat
30:45
energy
30:45
from
30:45
one
30:45
airstream
30:46
moves
30:46
to
30:47
the
30:47
other.
30:48
So
30:48
if
30:48
it's
30:48
cold
30:49
outside
30:49
and
30:49
warm
30:50
inside,
30:50
that
30:51
heat
30:51
moves
30:51
to
30:52
that
30:52
colder
30:52
airstream
30:53
and
30:53
preheats
30:54
that
30:54
airstream
30:54
coming
30:55
in.
30:55
But
30:56
if
30:56
it's
30:56
obnoxiously
30:57
hot
30:57
outside
30:58
heating
30:58
that
30:59
airstream,
30:59
the
31:00
heat
31:00
moves
31:00
into
31:00
the
31:01
other
31:01
airstream
31:02
and
31:02
is
31:02
sent
31:02
back
31:03
out.
31:04
So
31:04
I
31:04
can
31:04
keep
31:05
the
31:05
house
31:05
cool
31:06
or
31:06
warm
31:08
at
31:08
the
31:08
cost
31:08
of
31:09
running.
31:09
Two
31:09
exhaust
31:10
stands,
31:11
right?
31:11
No
31:11
heating
31:12
or
31:12
cooling
31:12
required.
31:14
The
31:14
erv
31:15
from,
31:15
from
31:16
a
31:16
economy
31:17
standpoint,
31:18
if
31:19
you're
31:19
running
31:20
in
31:20
a
31:20
climate
31:21
where
31:21
you
31:21
have
31:21
moisture
31:22
loads,
31:22
where
31:23
you
31:23
have
31:23
cooling
31:24
required
31:24
or
31:25
heating
31:25
required,
31:25
the
31:26
ERV
31:26
is
31:26
as
31:27
a
31:27
mainstay
31:28
for
31:28
that
31:28
heating
31:29
and
31:29
cooling
31:29
system,
31:30
or
31:30
should
31:30
be,
31:31
because
31:31
now
31:32
it
31:32
also
31:32
pulls
31:33
any
31:33
of
31:33
that
31:33
moisture
31:34
load.
31:34
The
31:35
other
31:35
thing
31:35
that
31:35
you
31:35
can
31:35
do
31:35
with
31:36
the
31:36
ERV
31:36
is
31:36
because
31:37
you're
31:37
mechanically
31:38
bringing
31:38
in
31:38
supplier,
31:40
we
31:40
put
31:40
a
31:40
MERV
31:41
13
31:41
filter
31:42
on
31:42
there.
31:43
So
31:43
now
31:44
again,
31:44
when
31:44
we're
31:44
in
31:44
Houston
31:45
and
31:45
that
31:45
high
31:45
loads
31:46
of
31:46
PM2.5,
31:48
while
31:48
we
31:49
recommend
31:49
that
31:49
you
31:50
check
31:50
your
31:51
filter
31:51
every
31:52
90
31:52
days,
31:52
that
31:53
filter,
31:53
we
31:53
change
31:53
that
31:54
every
31:54
30
31:54
days
31:56
and
31:56
it's
31:56
just
31:57
black
31:57
when
31:57
we
31:58
replace
31:58
it.
31:58
Because
31:58
what
31:59
happens
31:59
there,
32:00
hot,
32:00
humid,
32:00
picks
32:01
up
32:01
the
32:01
mold,
32:02
the
32:02
pollens
32:03
and
32:03
so
32:03
forth,
32:03
that
32:03
sticks
32:04
into
32:04
that
32:05
filter
32:05
rather
32:05
than
32:06
bringing
32:06
it
32:06
into
32:06
the
32:06
house.
32:07
But
32:07
it
32:08
only
32:08
takes
32:08
three
32:09
days
32:09
for
32:09
that
32:09
to
32:10
turn
32:10
into
32:11
again
32:11
your
32:12
giant
32:12
chia
32:12
pet,
32:13
your
32:13
black
32:13
chia
32:14
pet,
32:14
where
32:14
it's
32:15
just
32:15
nasty.
32:17
So,
32:17
Ken,
32:17
have
32:17
they
32:17
got
32:18
a
32:18
technology
32:19
wise
32:19
yet?
32:19
And
32:19
I
32:20
don't
32:20
know
32:20
this
32:20
answer,
32:20
but
32:21
it's
32:21
something
32:21
that
32:21
I've
32:21
been
32:21
asking
32:22
for
32:22
a
32:22
lot
32:23
of
32:23
years.
32:23
Have
32:24
they
32:24
gotten
32:24
to
32:24
a
32:24
point
32:24
now
32:25
where
32:25
that
32:26
could
32:26
actually
32:26
shut
32:26
off
32:27
if
32:27
the
32:27
outdoor
32:28
air
32:28
is
32:28
so
32:28
poor?
32:29
Like,
32:29
not
32:29
all
32:29
of
32:30
this
32:30
episode
32:30
will
32:30
end
32:31
up
32:31
on
32:31
the
32:31
radio
32:32
show,
32:32
so.
32:32
So
32:32
make
32:33
sure
32:33
you
32:33
catch
32:33
the
32:33

32:54

34:34
Welcome

34:48
so
34:48
make
34:48
sure
34:48
you

34:52
Now
34:52
let's
34:53
get
34:53
back
34:53
with
34:53
more
34:53
from
34:54
Ken
34:54
Nelson
34:55
from
34:55
Panasonic
34:56
Ecosystems.
34:57
Fair
34:58
assessment
34:58
of
34:58
what
34:59
will
34:59
have
34:59
the
34:59
best
35:00
impact,
35:00
not
35:01
just
35:01
the
35:01
biggest,
35:01
but
35:02
the
35:02
best
35:02
impact
35:03
on
35:03
your
35:03
house.
35:03
Absolutely.
35:04
And
35:04
Ken
35:05
and
35:05
John,
35:05
this
35:05
is
35:05
something
35:06
since
35:06
you've
35:06
gone
35:06
to
35:06
Columbia
35:07
scene,
35:07
but
35:08
nowadays
35:08
in
35:09
Seattle
35:09
or
35:09
anywhere
35:10
in
35:10
Washington
35:10
state,
35:10
if
35:11
you
35:11
dive
35:11
into
35:11
a
35:11
significant
35:12
kitchen
35:12
remodel
35:13
or
35:13
remodel
35:13
inside
35:14
the
35:14
house,
35:14
they
35:14
are
35:15
saying,
35:15
hey,
35:15
by
35:15
the
35:15
way,
35:16
while
35:16
you're
35:16
at
35:16
it,
35:16
that
35:16
ERV
35:17
has
35:17
to
35:17
go
35:18
in
35:18
on
35:18
that.
35:18
And
35:18
so
35:18
that's
35:19
something
35:19
that
35:19
we're
35:19
seeing
35:20
kind
35:20
of
35:20
racing
35:21
across
35:21
the
35:22
country
35:22
as
35:22
far
35:22
as
35:23
what
35:23
we're
35:23
seeing
35:24
with
35:24
that.
35:25
And
35:25
I
35:25
think
35:25
it's
35:26
really
35:26
important
35:27
for
35:27
us
35:27
to
35:27
have
35:28
that
35:28
conversation
35:28
because
35:29
it's
35:29
going
35:29
to
35:29
be
35:29
in
35:29
everybody's
35:30
backyard.
35:31
Now,
35:31
when
35:31
you
35:31
go
35:32
into
35:32
projects
35:32
that
35:33
state
35:33
by
35:33
state
35:34
is
35:34
building,
35:35
science
35:35
gets
35:35
smarter.
35:36
And
35:36
we
35:36
know
35:36
what
35:36
we
35:36
need
35:37
to
35:37
require.
35:37
Ken,
35:38
you
35:38
guys
35:38
are
35:38
doing
35:38
so
35:39
much
35:39
with
35:39
ERVs
35:40
out
35:40
there.
35:40
This
35:40
isn't
35:40
that
35:41
1980s
35:42
weird
35:42
box
35:43
in
35:43
the
35:43
ceiling
35:43
in
35:43
the
35:43
laundry
35:44
room
35:44
with
35:44
a
35:44
bunch
35:44
of
35:44
rubber
35:45
bands
35:45
in
35:45
it.
35:45
There's
35:45
a
35:45
lot
35:46
of
35:46
science
35:46
going
35:46
into
35:46
this.
35:47
There
35:47
is,
35:48
there's.
35:49
And
35:49
you
35:49
know
35:49
what?
35:49
Here's
35:50
the
35:50
thing.
35:50
The
35:50
science,
35:51
science
35:51
is
35:52
so
35:52
simple,
35:53
but
35:53
the
35:53
reality
35:54
is
35:54
simple
35:55
is
35:55
the
35:55
most
35:55
complex
35:56
thing.
35:56
Right?
35:57
People
35:57
always
35:57
talk
35:57
about,
35:58
well,
35:58
I
35:58
want
35:58
to,
35:58
I
35:59
want
35:59
the
35:59
easy
35:59
button.
36:00
But
36:00
the
36:00
work
36:00
that
36:01
goes
36:01
behind
36:01
creating
36:02
the
36:02
easy
36:03
button
36:03
to
36:03
make
36:03
things
36:04
happen
36:04
is,
36:04
is
36:05
quite
36:05
remarkable.
36:06
So
36:06
we
36:07
want
36:07
more
36:07
energy
36:08
transfer
36:08
out
36:08
of
36:09
the
36:09
erv,
36:09
I
36:09
want
36:09
to
36:10
save
36:10
more
36:10
energy
36:10
or
36:11
I
36:11
want
36:11
to
36:11
reject
36:11
heat
36:12
energy
36:13
or
36:13
I
36:13
want
36:13
to
36:14
reject
36:14
moisture
36:15
outside
36:15
or
36:16
save
36:16
moisture
36:16
inside.
36:17
How
36:17
can
36:17
the
36:18
ERV
36:18
do
36:18
all
36:18
this
36:19
super
36:19
effectively?
36:20
And,
36:20
and
36:21
there's
36:21
ways
36:21
to
36:21
do
36:21
it
36:22
bit
36:22
I
36:23
also
36:23
can't
36:23
raise
36:24
your
36:24
price.
36:24
I
36:24
don't
36:24
want
36:24
to
36:24
raise
36:25
your
36:25
price.
36:25
I
36:25
want
36:25
this
36:25
to
36:26
be
36:26
done
36:26
with.
36:27
You
36:27
know,
36:27
I
36:27
talk
36:27
about
36:28
price,
36:28
cost
36:28
and
36:29
value.
36:29
I
36:29
need
36:29
to
36:30
keep
36:30
the
36:30
price
36:31
and
36:31
the
36:31
cost
36:31
down
36:32
by
36:32
it,
36:32
but
36:32
enhance
36:33
the
36:33
value.
36:34
So
36:34
the
36:34
four
36:34
pillars,
36:35
we
36:36
kind
36:36
of
36:36
alluded
36:36
to
36:36
the
36:37
motor
36:37
being
36:37
one
36:38
of
36:38
the
36:38
primary
36:39
pillars
36:39
of
36:39
ERVs.
36:41
Number
36:41
two
36:42
would
36:42
be
36:42
the
36:43
core.
36:43
Excuse
36:44
me,
36:44
I'm
36:44
going
36:44
to
36:44
jump
36:45
around.
36:45
But
36:45
1
36:45
is
36:46
the
36:46
motor,
36:46
2
36:47
is
36:47
configuration,
36:48
3
36:48
is
36:49
the
36:49
core
36:50
and
36:50
4
36:50
is
36:51
filter,
36:51
right?
36:52
Because
36:53
I
36:53
want
36:53
the
36:54
core.
36:54
And
36:55
honestly
36:56
with
36:56
an
36:56
ERV,
36:56
the
36:57
core
36:57
is
36:57
2/3
36:58
the
36:58
cost
36:59
of
36:59
the
36:59
ERV.
37:00
Because
37:00
that
37:01
material
37:01
that
37:01
allows
37:02
that
37:02
water
37:02
vapor
37:03
to
37:03
go
37:03
through
37:03
there
37:03
is
37:03
just
37:04
not
37:04
something
37:04
you
37:04
can
37:04
pull
37:05
out
37:05
of
37:05
your
37:05
kitchen,
37:06
kitchen
37:06
drawer
37:07
and
37:08
create
37:08
it.
37:08
Right.
37:08
It's,
37:09
it's,
37:09
it's
37:10
a
37:10
piece
37:10
of
37:10
membrane
37:11
that
37:11
has
37:11
been
37:12
stretched,
37:12
flexed
37:13
and
37:13
it
37:13
has
37:13
very
37:13
precise
37:15
permission
37:16
permeable
37:17
material
37:17
that's,
37:18
that
37:18
allows
37:18
water
37:19
vapor
37:19
to
37:19
pass
37:19
through.
37:20
So
37:20
the
37:21
core
37:21
is,
37:21
is
37:21
quite
37:22
unique.
37:22
And
37:23
there's
37:23
two
37:23
types
37:23
of
37:24
cores.
37:24
There's
37:24
this
37:25
cross
37:25
flow
37:26
core
37:26
where
37:26
the
37:26
air
37:26
passes
37:27
left
37:27
and
37:28
passes
37:28
right
37:29
and
37:29
that's
37:30
where
37:30
the
37:30
material
37:30
goes.
37:31
And
37:31
then
37:31
there's
37:32
this
37:32
transflow
37:33
core
37:33
where
37:33
the
37:34
air
37:34
comes
37:34
in
37:35
and
37:35
then
37:35
it's
37:36
turned
37:37
to
37:37
go
37:37
a
37:38
straight
37:38
line
37:38
and
37:38
then
37:39
it's
37:39
turned
37:39
again
37:40
to
37:40
exit
37:40
it.
37:41
And
37:41
what
37:41
happens
37:42
is
37:42
to
37:42
make
37:43
the
37:43
ERV
37:43
more
37:44
efficient,
37:44
we
37:44
have
37:44
to
37:45
add
37:45
more
37:45
pressure
37:46
inside
37:46
that
37:46
core.
37:47
Each
37:47
of
37:47
those
37:47
turn
37:49
enhances
37:49
that
37:49
pressure
37:50
in
37:50
that
37:50
airstream.
37:51
So
37:51
it's
37:51
going
37:52
to
37:52
move
37:52
from
37:52
one
37:52
stream
37:53
to
37:53
the
37:53
next.
37:54
It's
37:54
literally,
37:55
it
37:55
gives
37:56
us
37:56
two,
37:56
excuse
37:57
me,
37:57
gives
37:58
us
37:58
90%
37:59
efficient
37:59
on
38:00
those
38:00
cores.
38:00
You
38:00
know
38:01
what,
38:01
that
38:01
core
38:01
is
38:01
more
38:01
expensive.
38:02
If
38:03
that
38:03
doesn't
38:03
work,
38:03
we
38:04
have
38:04
lower
38:04
cost
38:04
cores,
38:05
lower
38:05
cost
38:06
ERVs.
38:06
But
38:07
the
38:07
reality
38:07
is
38:07
if
38:07
you
38:08
live
38:08
in
38:08
a
38:08
cold
38:08
climate
38:09
and
38:09
heating
38:09
is
38:10
expensive,
38:10
or
38:11
you
38:11
live
38:11
in
38:11
a
38:11
hot
38:12
wet
38:12
climate
38:12
and
38:12
heat
38:13
cooling
38:13
is
38:14
expensive,
38:15
those
38:15
more
38:15
efficient
38:15
cores
38:16
will
38:16
far,
38:16
far
38:17
save
38:17
you
38:17
more
38:17
money
38:18
in
38:18
the
38:18
long
38:18
run
38:19
than
38:19
the
38:20
couple,
38:21
you
38:21
know,
38:21
the
38:21
50
38:21
to
38:22
20
38:22
bucks
38:22
that
38:22
you're
38:23
going
38:23
to
38:23
save
38:23
on
38:23
a,
38:24
on
38:24
a
38:24
lower
38:24
priced
38:25
product.
38:26
So,
38:26
and
38:26
then
38:26
the
38:27
filter,
38:27
because
38:28
just
38:28
because,
38:29
just
38:29
because
38:29
we
38:30
live
38:30
in
38:30
a
38:30
world
38:31
has
38:32
wildfires
38:33
in
38:33
here
38:34
in
38:34
the
38:34
northwest
38:35
we
38:35
see
38:35
moisture
38:36
loads
38:36
down
38:37
in
38:37
the
38:37
south,
38:37
you
38:38
go
38:38
to
38:39
Alaska
38:39
and
38:40
they
38:40
have
38:40
mosquitoes
38:41
for
38:41
heaven's
38:41
sakes.
38:42
The
38:42
filters
38:42
are
38:43
super
38:43
critical
38:44
and
38:44
I
38:45
have
38:45
to
38:45
make
38:45
a
38:46
device
38:46
that
38:46
will
38:46
take
38:47
a
38:47
filter
38:47
that's
38:48
not
38:48
going
38:48
to
38:48
set
38:49
us
38:49
all
38:49
back.
38:50
So
38:50
we're.
38:50
We're
38:51
working
38:51
really
38:51
hard
38:52
to
38:52
work
38:52
on
38:52
those
38:53
four
38:53
pillars
38:53
of
38:54
the
38:54
ERV
38:55
to
38:55
make
38:55
them
38:55
more
38:56
affordable
38:56
but
38:56
more
38:57
effective.
38:57
And
38:57
that's.
38:58
If
38:58
you
38:58
go
38:58
to
38:59
when.
38:59
When
38:59
you
38:59
come
38:59
to
39:00
the
39:00
kitchen
39:00
and
39:00
bath
39:01
show.
39:01
That's
39:01
one
39:01
of
39:02
the
39:02
things
39:02
we're
39:02
going
39:02
to
39:02
talk.
39:03
We're
39:03
going
39:03
to
39:03
talk
39:03
about
39:04
how
39:04
we're
39:04
making
39:04
ERVs
39:05
more
39:05
efficient,
39:06
more
39:06
affordable,
39:07
better
39:07
configurations
39:08
for
39:09
builders,
39:10
quieter,
39:10
the
39:11
whole
39:11
package.
39:11
Yeah,
39:12
that
39:12
makes
39:12
sense,
39:12
Ken.
39:13
And
39:13
I
39:13
think
39:13
that's
39:13
one
39:14
of
39:14
the
39:14
things,
39:14
too,
39:14
that
39:14
people.
39:15
New
39:15
homeowners
39:16
especially,
39:16
and
39:17
it's
39:17
something
39:18
that
39:18
even
39:18
the
39:19
longtime
39:20
contractors
39:20
like
39:21
Johnny
39:21
here,
39:22
you
39:22
got
39:22
to
39:22
remember
39:22
to
39:23
change
39:23
that
39:23
filter.
39:23
There's
39:24
enough
39:24
filters
39:24
around.
39:24
You
39:25
got
39:25
your
39:25
refrigerator
39:26
filter,
39:26
you
39:26
got
39:27
all
39:27
these
39:27
filters.
39:27
But
39:27
that
39:28
ERV
39:28
filter,
39:28
you
39:29
better
39:29
stay
39:29
on
39:29
top
39:29
of
39:29
that
39:30
because
39:30
at
39:31
some
39:31
point
39:31
it's
39:31
going
39:31
to
39:31
be
39:32
like
39:32
that.
39:32
I
39:32
always,
39:33
I
39:33
always
39:33
call
39:33
it.
39:33
It's
39:34
like
39:34
that,
39:34
that
39:34
cabin
39:35
air
39:35
filter
39:35
in
39:35
your
39:36
car
39:36
that
39:36
you
39:36
forget
39:36
about
39:36
until
39:37
it's
39:37
not
39:37
working
39:37
and
39:37
you
39:38
go,
39:38
oh,
39:38
you
39:38
didn't
39:39
change
39:39
that.
39:39
But
39:40
it's
39:40
a
39:40
key
39:40
piece
39:40
to
39:41
maintain.
39:41
Right.
39:41
And
39:42
that's
39:42
why
39:42
life
39:42
is
39:43
simpler
39:43
in
39:43
Colombia,
39:44
because
39:44
we
39:44
don't
39:44
even
39:44
have
39:45
bath
39:45
fans
39:45
here.
39:46
So
39:47
there's
39:47
no
39:48
filter
39:48
changing
39:48
going
39:49
on.
39:50
Yeah,
39:50
your
39:51
windows
39:51
are
39:51
open.
39:51
I
39:52
stayed
39:52
in
39:52
a
39:52
place
39:53
they
39:53
didn't
39:53
even
39:54
have
39:54
windows,
39:54
they
39:55
had
39:55
slats.
39:56
It
39:56
was
39:56
a
39:56
beautiful
39:56
thing.
39:57
Yep.
39:57
Yeah.
39:57
But
39:58
I
39:58
gotta
39:59
give
39:59
Johnny
39:59
a
39:59
hard
39:59
time
39:59
here
40:00
because
40:01
he
40:01
also
40:02
has
40:02
no
40:03
hot
40:03
water
40:03
going
40:03
to
40:04
the
40:04
shower.
40:04
And
40:04
they
40:04
have
40:05
this
40:06
heater
40:06
that's
40:06
sitting
40:06
there
40:07
that's
40:08
a
40:08
point
40:09
of
40:09
use
40:09
water
40:09
heater
40:10
with
40:11
wire
40:11
nuts
40:11
that
40:11
are
40:11
hanging
40:12
in
40:12
the
40:12
shower,
40:12
and
40:12
that's
40:13
common
40:13
there.
40:13
So
40:14
you've
40:14
got
40:14
a
40:15
110
40:15
wire
40:16
that's
40:16
open
40:16
with
40:17
wire
40:17
nuts
40:17
in
40:17
your
40:18
shower.
40:18
It's
40:19
not
40:19
even
40:19
in
40:19
a
40:19
box.
40:20
So
40:20
it's
40:20
fine.
40:21
It's
40:21
fine.
40:22
But
40:22
here's
40:23
right.
40:23
So
40:24
today
40:24
I
40:24
was
40:25
helping
40:25
Miguel's
40:26
sister
40:27
move
40:28
and
40:28
her
40:29
little
40:29
daughter
40:29
wanted
40:30
to
40:30
play
40:30
the
40:30
game
40:30
on
40:31
my
40:31
phone,
40:31
Right.
40:32
And
40:32
the
40:32
phone
40:32
was
40:33
plugged
40:33
in
40:33
and
40:33
her
40:34
mom
40:34
slipped
40:35
out.
40:35
I
40:35
know.
40:36
Not
40:36
while
40:36
the
40:36
phone's
40:36
plugged
40:37
in,
40:37
but
40:38
we
40:38
have
40:38
shower
40:38
heads
40:39
with
40:39
bare
40:39
wires.
40:41
Get
40:41
in
40:42
there,
40:42
kids.
40:43
Like
40:43
it's
40:43
a
40:43
self
40:44
that's
40:44
not
40:45
going
40:45
to
40:46
get
40:46
it.
40:46
Yeah,
40:47
yeah.
40:47
That
40:47
maintenance
40:48
stuff,
40:48
that
40:48
you
40:49
could
40:49
have
40:49
the
40:49
best
40:49
stuff
40:49
in
40:50
the
40:50
world,
40:50
but
40:50
if
40:50
you
40:50
don't
40:50
maintain
40:51
it,
40:51
it's
40:51
not
40:51
going
40:51
to
40:51
stay
40:52
up
40:52
to
40:52
date
40:52
for
40:52
you
40:52
and
40:52
it's
40:53
not
40:53
going
40:53
to
40:53
work
40:53
as
40:54
designed.
40:55
Yeah.
40:55
Or
40:55
it's
40:56
going
40:56
to
40:56
work
40:56
opposite
40:57
of
40:57
design.
40:58
Yeah,
40:58
yeah.
40:58
Even
40:59
worse.
40:59
Even
41:00
worse.
41:00
I
41:01
tell
41:01
you
41:01
what,
41:01
Ken,
41:01
it
41:02
is
41:02
always
41:02
fun
41:03
to
41:03
have
41:03
you
41:03
on
41:04
here,
41:04
brother.
41:04
And
41:04
I
41:04
can't
41:05
wait
41:05
to
41:05
see
41:05
a
41:05
face
41:05
to
41:05
face
41:06
here
41:06
in
41:06
a
41:06
few
41:06
weeks
41:06
down
41:06
at
41:07
the
41:07
design
41:07
and
41:07
construction
41:08
week
41:08
in
41:08
Orlando,
41:09
where
41:09
we're
41:10
all
41:10
having
41:10
to
41:10
fly
41:10
across
41:11
country
41:11
to
41:11
go
41:11
do
41:11
that.
41:12
And
41:12
that's
41:13
going
41:13
to
41:13
be
41:13
a
41:13
lot
41:13
of
41:13
fun
41:13
to
41:13
hang
41:14
out
41:14
with
41:14
you
41:14
down
41:14
there
41:14
and
41:14
take
41:15
a
41:15
look
41:15
and
41:15
see
41:15
and
41:15
touch
41:16
and
41:16
feel.
41:16
The
41:16
latest
41:17
stuff
41:17
from
41:17
Panasonic
41:18
is
41:18
down
41:18
there.
41:18
Beautiful,
41:19
man.
41:19
I
41:19
can't
41:19
wait
41:19
to
41:20
have
41:20
you
41:20
come
41:20
by.
41:20
We'll
41:21
go
41:21
and
41:21
monkey
41:22
with
41:22
all
41:22
the
41:22
buttons
41:23
and
41:23
play
41:23
with
41:23
all
41:23
the.
41:24
All
41:24
the
41:24
toys.
41:25
I
41:26
will
41:26
be
41:26
monkeying
41:26
with
41:27
it
41:27
for
41:27
sure.
41:28
So,
41:28
Johnny,
41:28
we're
41:29
going
41:29
to
41:29
have
41:29
to
41:29
get
41:29
you
41:29
up
41:29
next
41:29
year
41:29
for
41:30
that.
41:30
Well,
41:30
I
41:31
was
41:31
just
41:31
going
41:31
to
41:31
say
41:31
I
41:32
might
41:32
get
41:32
up
41:32
there
41:32
for
41:33
that
41:33
or.
41:33
You
41:34
do
41:34
realize
41:34
how
41:34
close
41:35
Florida
41:35
is
41:35
to
41:36
fly
41:36
over
41:36
to
41:36
Columbia,
41:37
if
41:37
you
41:37
guys
41:37
wanted
41:37
to
41:37
just
41:37
come
41:38
and
41:38
visit
41:38
for
41:38
a
41:38
spell.
41:40
You're
41:40
not
41:40
wrong,
41:40
bro.
41:41
I
41:41
am
41:42
not
41:42
wrong
41:43
right
41:43
now.
41:44
I
41:44
got
41:44
a
41:44
thing,
41:44
though.
41:44
I'm
41:45
staying
41:45
out
41:45
of
41:45
that
41:45
Venezuelan
41:46
airspace
41:46
right
41:46
now.
41:47
So
41:47
I'm
41:47
just
41:47
gonna
41:47
have
41:47
to
41:48
stay
41:48
away
41:48
from
41:48
you,
41:48
brother.
41:49
Yeah,
41:49
yeah,
41:49
yeah,
41:50
yeah.
41:50
You're
41:50
gonna
41:50
want
41:51
to
41:51
sail
41:51
around
41:51
that
41:52
point,
41:52
really
41:54
keep
41:54
a
41:55
wide
41:55
breeze.
41:55
I
41:56
would
41:56
probably
41:56
take
41:56
my
41:57
chances
41:57
with
41:57
the
41:57
airspace
41:58
more
41:58
so
41:58
than
41:59
the
41:59
ocean
41:59
space
42:00
below
42:00
it.
42:00
Yeah,
42:01
for
42:01
sure.
42:02
I'm
42:02
not
42:02
going
42:02
out
42:02
in
42:02
a
42:03
fishing
42:03
boat,
42:03
let's
42:03
put
42:03
it
42:03
that
42:04
way.
42:05
Four
42:05
motors.
42:06
Yeah.
42:08
That's
42:08
no
42:08
more
42:08
unsafe
42:09
than
42:09
taking
42:09
a
42:09
shower
42:10
here.
42:10
We
42:10
don't
42:10
worry
42:10
about
42:11
it.
42:12
Way
42:12
to
42:12
bring
42:12
it
42:12
around.
42:13
So,
42:13
Ken,
42:13
how
42:13
do
42:14
people
42:14
find
42:14
you
42:14
guys?
42:15
I
42:15
mean,
42:15
you
42:15
guys
42:15
are
42:15
in,
42:16
of
42:17
course,
42:17
for
42:17
builders
42:17
and
42:18
remodelers.
42:18
You're
42:19
out
42:19
everywhere
42:19
out
42:19
there,
42:19
but
42:20
you're
42:20
not
42:20
always
42:20
in,
42:20
like,
42:20
the
42:21
home
42:21
improvement
42:21
storage.
42:22
But
42:22
I
42:22
think
42:22
it's
42:22
something
42:22
that
42:23
if
42:23
even
42:23
a
42:24
homeowner
42:24
is
42:24
doing
42:24
a
42:24
DIY
42:25
project
42:25
and
42:25
they
42:26
just
42:26
need
42:26
to
42:26
put
42:26
a
42:26
fan
42:26
in,
42:27
they
42:27
need
42:27
to
42:27
be
42:27
using
42:28
your
42:28
stuff
42:28
instead
42:28
of.
42:29
Instead
42:29
of
42:29
others
42:29
because
42:30
it
42:30
just
42:30
works
42:30
so
42:31
much
42:31
better.
42:32
And
42:32
you're
42:32
one
42:33
of
42:33
those.
42:33
There's
42:33
not
42:34
a
42:34
lot
42:34
of
42:34
companies
42:34
out
42:34
there
42:35
that
42:35
I
42:35
can
42:35
say
42:35
there's
42:35
no
42:36
competition
42:36
to,
42:36
really,
42:37
as
42:37
far
42:37
as
42:37
quality
42:38
and
42:38
what
42:38
they
42:38
get.
42:39
And
42:39
you
42:39
guys
42:39
are
42:40
kind
42:40
of
42:40
one
42:40
of
42:40
those
42:40
rare
42:40
ones,
42:41
man.
42:41
Well,
42:41
I'll
42:41
tell
42:41
you.
42:42
So
42:42
finding
42:42
us
42:43
has
42:43
gotten
42:44
way,
42:44
way
42:44
easier.
42:45
We
42:45
are
42:45
now
42:46
in
42:46
most
42:47
of
42:47
the
42:47
home
42:48
improvement
42:48
stores.
42:49
Nice.
42:49
We're
42:49
at
42:49
wholesale
42:50
distribution.
42:51
If
42:51
you're
42:51
doing
42:51
more
42:52
design
42:52
work,
42:52
you'll
42:53
see
42:53
us.
42:53
And
42:53
again,
42:54
at
42:54
some
42:54
of
42:54
the
42:54
higher
42:54
end
42:55
wholesale
42:55
distributions,
42:56
where
42:56
they
42:56
do
42:57
mechanical
42:58
design
42:58
and
42:58
so
42:59
forth.
42:59
The
42:59
vent
43:00
fan
43:00
industry
43:01
before
43:02
20
43:02
years
43:02
ago
43:03
was
43:03
literally
43:04
like
43:04
the
43:04
light
43:05
bulb
43:05
industry.
43:05
You
43:06
had
43:06
to
43:06
go
43:06
to
43:06
a
43:06
special
43:07
place
43:07
to
43:07
get
43:07
a
43:07
special
43:08
light
43:08
bulb.
43:08
But
43:09
today
43:10
I've
43:11
got
43:11
product
43:11
just
43:11
about
43:12
anywhere.
43:12
And
43:12
you
43:12
can
43:12
certainly
43:13
go
43:13
to
43:13
our
43:13
webpage
43:14
and
43:14
Eric,
43:15
I'll
43:15
send
43:15
you
43:15
some
43:16
links
43:16
to
43:16
some
43:16
videos
43:17
that
43:17
we've
43:17
done
43:17
and
43:18
I'll
43:18
capture
43:19
your
43:19
material
43:20
and
43:20
put
43:20
it
43:20
out
43:20
on
43:20
our
43:20
Panasonic
43:21
LinkedIn
43:22
and
43:22
Facebook
43:22
and
43:23
all
43:23
that
43:23
as
43:24
well.
43:24
So
43:24
some
43:25
shared
43:25
knowledge
43:26
opportunities.
43:27
Man,
43:27
I
43:27
love
43:27
it.
43:27
I
43:27
love
43:28
it.
43:28
And
43:28
you
43:28
guys
43:28
are
43:28
just
43:29
continuing
43:29
to
43:29
innovate
43:30
and
43:30
I
43:30
love
43:30
that
43:30
you're
43:31
doing,
43:31
doing
43:31
it.
43:31
And
43:31
Ken,
43:32
thanks
43:32
for
43:32
coming
43:32
on,
43:32
man.
43:33
And
43:33
I
43:33
will
43:33
see
43:33
you
43:34
in
43:34
a
43:34
few
43:34
weeks.
43:34
I'm
43:34
looking
43:35
forward
43:35
to
43:35
that.
43:35
Yes,
43:35
sir.
43:36
I
43:37
just
43:37
want
43:37
to
43:37
throw
43:37
in.
43:38
I
43:38
wanted
43:38
to
43:38
throw
43:38
it
43:38
in
43:38
at
43:39
the
43:39
beginning,
43:39
Eric,
43:39
when
43:40
you
43:40
said
43:40
10
43:40
years
43:41
plus,
43:41
you've
43:41
been
43:41
using
43:41
these
43:42
products.
43:42
I
43:42
will
43:42
tell
43:42
you
43:43
that
43:43
as
43:43
a
43:43
contractor
43:44
in
43:44
the
43:44
early
43:44
2000s
43:46
with
43:46
Kevin
43:47
working
43:47
with
43:47
me.
43:48
Right.
43:48
We
43:48
used
43:49
to
43:49
have
43:49
to
43:49
special
43:50
order
43:50
or
43:51
go
43:51
to
43:51
someplace
43:51
special
43:52
to
43:52
get,
43:53
which
43:53
was
43:53
definitely
43:54
a
43:54
bit
43:54
of
43:54
an
43:54
upsell.
43:55
But
43:56
we,
43:57
that
43:57
there
43:57
was
43:57
no
43:58
competition
43:58
for
43:59
the
43:59
Panasonic
44:00
fans
44:00
back
44:00
then.
44:01
Right.
44:01
And
44:02
it
44:02
was
44:02
just.
44:02
Yeah,
44:02
no
44:03
different,
44:03
same
44:03
thing.
44:04
Right.
44:04
Even
44:04
back
44:04
then
44:05
you're
44:05
talking
44:05
about
44:06
25
44:07
years
44:07
ago
44:08
and
44:08
people
44:09
still
44:09
were
44:10
saying,
44:10
is
44:10
it
44:11
on?
44:11
Is
44:12
it
44:12
on?
44:12
Like
44:13
that's
44:13
how,
44:13
that's
44:14
how
44:14
long
44:14
you
44:14
guys
44:14
have
44:15
been
44:15
great.
44:15
And
44:15
again,
44:16
you're
44:16
not
44:16
paying
44:16
me
44:17
to
44:17
say
44:17
that.
44:17
That's
44:17
just
44:18
reality.
44:18
It's,
44:18
it's
44:19
been
44:19
the
44:19
best
44:19
for
44:20
20
44:20
plus
44:20
years.
44:21
Yeah.
44:21
I
44:21
just
44:22
remember
44:22
taking
44:22
fans
44:23
into
44:23
the
44:23
distribution
44:24
and
44:24
saying,
44:24
these
44:24
are
44:24
going
44:25
to
44:25
be
44:25
three
44:26
times
44:26
more
44:26
than
44:26
the
44:26
ones
44:27
you
44:27
have
44:27
in
44:27
stock.
44:27
But
44:28
listen
44:28
to
44:28
this.
44:28
And
44:29
there
44:29
would
44:29
be
44:29
nothing
44:29
but
44:30
silence.
44:31
And
44:31
they
44:31
would
44:31
still
44:32
mock
44:32
me,
44:32
say,
44:32
oh,
44:33
people
44:33
regular
44:33
buy
44:34
those.
44:34
And
44:34
I'm
44:34
like,
44:34
what?
44:35
Just
44:35
bring
44:35
them
44:36
in.
44:36
I'll
44:36
go
44:36
make
44:37
all
44:37
this
44:37
happen.
44:37
And
44:38
now
44:39
our
44:39
fan
44:39
business
44:40
is
44:40
a
44:40
200
44:40
million
44:41
dollar
44:41
juggernaut
44:42
that
44:43
we
44:43
couldn't
44:43
be
44:43
more
44:43
proud
44:44
of.
44:44
Yeah.
44:44
And
44:45
well
44:45
it
44:45
should
44:45
be.
44:45
Yeah,
44:46
absolutely.
44:47
All
44:47
right,
44:47
let's
44:47
wrap
44:48
a
44:48
bow
44:48
around
44:48
this
44:49
one.
44:49
Ken,
44:49
thanks
44:49
for
44:50
coming
44:50
on
44:50
today.
44:50
John,
44:51
great
44:51
to
44:51
see
44:51
you.
44:52
I
44:52
appreciate
44:53
you
44:53
having
44:53
me
44:54
on
44:54
and
44:54
I
44:54
look
44:54
forward
44:55
to
44:55
seeing
44:55
you
44:55
guys
44:56
at
44:56
the
44:56
builder
44:56
show.
44:57
All
44:57
right,
44:57
sounds
44:58
good.
44:58
I'm
44:58
Eric
44:59
G.
44:59
You've
44:59
been
44:59
listening
45:00
to
45:00
around
45:01
the
45:01
House.
45:01
If
45:01
you
45:02
have
45:02
a
45:02
question
45:02
for
45:03
us,
45:03
check
45:03
out
45:04
the
45:04
website@aroundthehouseonline.com.
45:07
we
45:07
will
45:08
see
45:08
you
45:09
next
45:09
time.
