- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on you. Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning
- 0:05Speaker 1: everybody you are listening to the voice, Come on dig
- 0:08Speaker 1: me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man,
- 0:14Speaker 1: oh man, oh man. You know what y'all? I mean, Really,
- 0:19Speaker 1: the goodness of God is overwhelming if you think about it,
- 0:23Speaker 1: I mean, really really think about it, even when your
- 0:27Speaker 1: circumstance doesn't look so bright, even when you're going through
- 0:32Speaker 1: something that's causing you discomfort, pain, Even in that, God's
- 0:40Speaker 1: goodness is actually overwhelming because don't forget why you're going
- 0:46Speaker 1: through this moment. First of all, this too shall pass.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But also secondly, remember man, ain't everything else that you've
- 0:55Speaker 1: gone through that seems so insurmountable at the time, didn't
- 0:59Speaker 1: you get past that too? I mean, it's amazing. If
- 1:04Speaker 1: you really think about it, you don't get stuck on
- 1:08Speaker 1: any one issue your whole life. The only people that
- 1:11Speaker 1: get stuck on an issue they whole life is people
- 1:15Speaker 1: who won't let it go. That's really all it is.
- 1:18Speaker 1: There are people who exist, and you may be one
- 1:21Speaker 1: of them. Oh please know I've been guilty of it
- 1:24Speaker 1: myself before, but I learned something. There are things in
- 1:29Speaker 1: my past that I just would not let go of
- 1:32Speaker 1: it was done, It was over with. I was past it,
- 1:36Speaker 1: but I I would not let go of it. It
- 1:40Speaker 1: was over. The dude that did it to me didn't
- 1:43Speaker 1: exist no more. The problem that it created didn't exist
- 1:46Speaker 1: no more. The only problem that kept hanging on was
- 1:50Speaker 1: I would not let it go. And man, you can't
- 1:54Speaker 1: go forward if you're gonna keep looking in the past.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It's an impossible thing. It's like driving a car. If
- 2:02Speaker 1: you keep looking only in the rearview mirror while you're driving,
- 2:06Speaker 1: you're going to crash pretty soon. And a lot of
- 2:09Speaker 1: people just keep crashing over and over and over and
- 2:13Speaker 1: over because you won't drive your car you keep looking
- 2:17Speaker 1: in the real view mirror at the past. Oh woe,
- 2:21Speaker 1: it's me. Oh you know they did me like that?
- 2:24Speaker 1: You know I ain't been the same since he cheated
- 2:26Speaker 1: on me. Oh man, ever since she stole my money,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I ain't been the same man she played me, and
- 2:32Speaker 1: ever since that I done treated women differently. You may
- 2:35Speaker 1: have some deeper stuff going on, but eventually, guess what
- 2:39Speaker 1: do you understand that when you have a relationship God
- 2:42Speaker 1: with God, you can take that to him too and
- 2:46Speaker 1: drop it off and leave it there. Do you know
- 2:49Speaker 1: that he can fix and heal that. Maybe it's something
- 2:53Speaker 1: serious like that that you need fixing or healing from
- 2:56Speaker 1: a relationship with God can fix and heal that. But man,
- 3:01Speaker 1: come on, y'all, whatever it is, and I'm not trying
- 3:05Speaker 1: to downplay it or make it act like it wasn't
- 3:08Speaker 1: traumatic in your life, because oh God, you don't want to.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You know, you don't want nobody to do that to
- 3:12Speaker 1: you because you want to be the the you know,
- 3:14Speaker 1: the post a child for misery. So please don't let
- 3:18Speaker 1: me take that from you. If that's your position, that's
- 3:21Speaker 1: your hall of fame card you hanging on to. I'm
- 3:24Speaker 1: the poster child for misery. Oh no one is more
- 3:28Speaker 1: woe than me than Please don't let Steve try to
- 3:32Speaker 1: take that from you. You go ahead and hang on
- 3:34Speaker 1: to that. But let me tell you something though. If
- 3:37Speaker 1: that's what you're gonna hang on to, that's what you're
- 3:39Speaker 1: gonna always be the poster child for misery. At one
- 3:43Speaker 1: point in time, you're gonna have to get on and
- 3:44Speaker 1: move past it. You Sometimes, man, it's merely a simple
- 3:49Speaker 1: thing of taking it to God and leaving it there.
- 3:51Speaker 1: You know, some people don't have money for therapy. Some
- 3:55Speaker 1: people don't even know who to call for therapy. God
- 3:58Speaker 1: is the best psychology in the world. He can fix
- 4:02Speaker 1: it for you. There is nothing too hard for God.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You know when something seems impossible, y'all. God does the
- 4:09Speaker 1: impossible all the time every day. You won't know how
- 4:13Speaker 1: I know. I just look at a couple basic things.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Do you know that that sun comes up every day
- 4:18Speaker 1: in the morning. It comes up in the east and
- 4:21Speaker 1: it sets in the west. You can't do nothing about that.
- 4:25Speaker 1: All you can you can wish because you plant at
- 4:27Speaker 1: your flowers on a certain side of your house. You
- 4:30Speaker 1: can wish all you want. Then maybe one day he
- 4:32Speaker 1: would bring it up out the northwest, so those flowers
- 4:34Speaker 1: would no. No, it's gonna come up out the east.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And once the sun hits the horizon, when you look
- 4:41Speaker 1: in the water, like if you ever out in La
- 4:43Speaker 1: and you see the sun going down. Once the sun
- 4:46Speaker 1: once you can visually see the sun touching the horizon,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you have three minutes. You have exactly three minutes. You
- 4:53Speaker 1: can sit there with your watch, you can time. You
- 4:55Speaker 1: have three minutes and it's gone. Three minutes is gone.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I read that somewhere and then I went and tried it.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It's gone every day if it's clear enough not cloudy.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Once the sun touches the horizon. On water, you got
- 5:11Speaker 1: three minutes. When the wind blows, you can't do nothing
- 5:15Speaker 1: about it. He can bring it from the northeast. He
- 5:17Speaker 1: can bring it from the west, he can bring from south.
- 5:20Speaker 1: He can bring it hard, he can bring it cool,
- 5:22Speaker 1: he can bring it hot. It's certain things that God
- 5:25Speaker 1: does the impossible all the time. How those stars sitting
- 5:28Speaker 1: up there, How can you find these constellations, the big
- 5:32Speaker 1: dipp of the Little Dipper, Ryan the Hunter, Oh that's God.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Ain't nothing you can do about it. You can't reach
- 5:38Speaker 1: them stars, you can't shoot at them, you can't move
- 5:40Speaker 1: them out the way. Or Ryan the Hunter's belt, there's
- 5:43Speaker 1: gonna beat them three stars out of ankle. You can
- 5:46Speaker 1: call it what you want to call it. Still, that's
- 5:47Speaker 1: what it is. See, he does the impossible all the time.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He created heaven and earth. You're saying that God can't
- 5:55Speaker 1: get you through your past. Somebody did this to me.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It's the worst I had, the worst childhood of anybody.
- 6:02Speaker 1: God can't get you past that. He can move heaven, mountains, Earth,
- 6:07Speaker 1: he can form the Grand Canyon. He can make the
- 6:10Speaker 1: water come over Niagara Falls twenty four seven. He can't
- 6:14Speaker 1: fix yo little bitty past yours. It's amazing how people
- 6:20Speaker 1: make their problems bigger than God. Somebody told me one time,
- 6:23Speaker 1: stop telling God how big your problems are, and start
- 6:29Speaker 1: telling your problems how big God is, and go on
- 6:33Speaker 1: with your life. Quit driving your car looking in the
- 6:37Speaker 1: rear view mirror. Ain't nothing back there but your past.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And if it was hurtful or painful, or something you
- 6:44Speaker 1: just felt like you can't get over, take your problems
- 6:47Speaker 1: to God and leave them there. You hear the old
- 6:49Speaker 1: spiritual all you've heard it, take your birdens to the Lord,
- 6:52Speaker 1: leave them yet all the time. But you think that
- 6:56Speaker 1: applies to everyone. But you come on, man, a lot
- 7:00Speaker 1: of people out there going through much worse than you
- 7:03Speaker 1: have and have overcome it all. Why won't you take
- 7:06Speaker 1: the step to overcome your past so you can get
- 7:09Speaker 1: on with driving your car and see what God trying
- 7:11Speaker 1: to take you. But it's a trick of the enemy.
- 7:14Speaker 1: The enemy tricks you from seeing your future by having
- 7:17Speaker 1: you constantly looking in your past. Man, it's a trick
- 7:21Speaker 1: of the devil. If the devil just let you quit,
- 7:24Speaker 1: if he would just let you get to drive in
- 7:27Speaker 1: your car. Look out into your future. Your future shows hopefulness.
- 7:32Speaker 1: You have hope when you see the future. But he
- 7:35Speaker 1: can keep you in misery if he keep you looking
- 7:38Speaker 1: at your miserable past. God looking for you, man, God
- 7:42Speaker 1: would love to hear from you. Let's spend some time
- 7:45Speaker 1: talking to God today. Hey God, what's happening. It's me.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I know I ain't talk to you in a while,
- 7:51Speaker 1: but feel bad about that. But I need you. He
- 7:55Speaker 1: know that everybody should say that prayer all the time.
- 7:58Speaker 1: It's cool, all right. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 8:01Speaker 1: Morning Show.
