- Philadelphia makes history! This is The Sports Reset for Sunday June 21st In MLB, the Philadelphia Phillies gave the night its loudest baseball story, beating the New York Mets 15 to 3 while Bryce Harper hit for the first cycle of his career and Kyle Schwarber added a three-homer game. That is not just a lopsided division result; it is a rare two-star eruption in the same game, and it gives today’s rematch a little extra charge. The Atlanta Braves also had one of the sharper finishes, edging the Milwaukee Brewers 4 to 3 on Ozzie Albies’ walk-off two-run homer in the ninth. In World Cup group play, the Netherlands answered pressure with a 5 to 1 win over Sweden, Germany beat Ivory Coast 2 to 1, and Curaçao earned a 0 to 0 draw with Ecuador behind a huge goalkeeper performance. In the WNBA, the Atlanta Dream beat the Indiana Fever 113 to 96, while in UFC, Manel Kape defeated Kyoji Horiguchi at flyweight. Looking ahead, the matchup to watch is the U.S. Open final round, where Wyndham Clark starts at 7 under with a six-shot cushion over Scottie Scheffler and Sahith Theegala at 1 under. Clark is chasing control of a major Sunday, while Scheffler is trying to keep a career grand slam push alive from the final group. In World Cup play today, Japan already handled Tunisia 4 to 0, and Spain’s game against Saudi Arabia carries extra attention with Lamine Yamal back in the starting picture after a hamstring issue. Belgium also gets Iran today with Jérémy Doku reported out because of illness. In MLB, the New York Mets get an immediate rematch with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Baltimore Orioles visit the LA Dodgers, and Toronto Blue Jays at Chicago Cubs is off because of rain, with the makeup set for August 6. In the WNBA, New York Liberty at Los Angeles Sparks is the late national-feel game.
