- 0:07Speaker 1: to see what Paul and Gordy can do for you.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Then the car rolled out and I thought these guys serious,
- 0:13Speaker 1: you know when they did the cyber truck reveal and
- 0:15Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, he's going to walk off stage
- 0:17Speaker 1: and then the real thing will come up.
- 0:19Speaker 2: This felt like that.
- 0:20Speaker 1: The Driver's Show with Paul Marrick and Gordy Waters.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Gordon's boardle lollies. We're just a couple of fatties in
- 0:36Speaker 3: this studio, just jumping down on some lollies and I'm
- 0:40Speaker 3: not going to have any Wait a second, is that
- 0:43Speaker 3: is that cordial? You've got a like a water bottle,
- 0:47Speaker 3: like a normal commercial water bottle, but you filled it
- 0:50Speaker 3: with some sort of red liquid or is that red wine?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Are you an alcoholic? It's a bit of penot to
- 0:55Speaker 3: get us through after. Yeah, we're just a couple of
- 0:59Speaker 3: couple of fat boys in a hot box eating.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I know you like fat boys. Yeah, I do like
- 1:04Speaker 2: a fat boy writing one.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I've got quite a long fat boy. Actually
- 1:08Speaker 3: mine is it's a long fat boy and I'm not
- 1:13Speaker 3: afraid to write it in public either. Sometimes I'll do
- 1:16Speaker 3: it at the beach. Hey should we? I hate to
- 1:24Speaker 3: start this podcast in such a in the gutter, in
- 1:27Speaker 3: the gutter, but I hate to also drop the F word.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Oh no, but we're going to have to drop the
- 1:33Speaker 3: F word, and that is Ferrari. Oh yes, and you
- 1:36Speaker 3: were there. I know you were there, and you had.
- 1:39Speaker 1: To like keep your lips closed, you know what's funny,
- 1:42Speaker 1: need to be on your best behavior.
- 1:44Speaker 3: We're talking about the Ferrari Luche launch which you went to.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Where was it?
- 1:48Speaker 2: It was in Rome?
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it was in Rome?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:50Speaker 4: And when when in Rome? So this is I've been
- 1:54Speaker 4: to a lot of car launches and reveals and stuff.
- 1:56Speaker 4: This is probably the most expensive one of scene. And
- 2:01Speaker 4: people might think, oh, it's just because it's Ferrari, it's
- 2:03Speaker 4: or what's expensive. I've been to plenty of Ferrari launchers
- 2:06Speaker 4: and they're fine, but they're not sort of anything, sort
- 2:08Speaker 4: of out of this world. This thing was on another
- 2:11Speaker 4: level entirely, both just in terms of the effort they
- 2:15Speaker 4: put into the event. Just everything about it was on
- 2:17Speaker 4: an epic scale. So you could see this was important
- 2:20Speaker 4: to them. They taped up our phones, they had security
- 2:23Speaker 4: people like every fifteen minutes, checking that you still had
- 2:26Speaker 4: the tape on your phone and all that sort of stuff, and.
- 2:28Speaker 2: They did this premiere.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Premiere started at like nine or nine thirty pm and
- 2:33Speaker 4: by this point I'm like, I'm ready to go to sleep.
- 2:35Speaker 4: I don't need to sit through this for another hour.
- 2:37Speaker 4: They rolled through the premiere, and during the premiere I
- 2:40Speaker 4: could see they were trying very hard. There was like
- 2:43Speaker 4: this sort of bad acting between execs. They rolled out
- 2:47Speaker 4: every exec they could find.
- 2:49Speaker 3: To the point where I was like, okay, so they're putting.
- 2:52Speaker 2: A bit into this.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Then the car rolled out and I thought, I think
- 2:55Speaker 4: these guys serious. I wasn't sure, if you know, when
- 2:59Speaker 4: they did this hibertruck reveal and I was like, Oh,
- 3:01Speaker 4: he's going to walk off stage and then the real
- 3:03Speaker 4: thing will come up.
- 3:05Speaker 2: This felt like that. And this is the thing.
- 3:07Speaker 4: If you stuck a Honda or a BYD badge on it,
- 3:09Speaker 4: you'd go, oh, cool, it's a sixty thousand dollars city car. Yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 4: this has a Ferrari badge on it. It'll be over
- 3:15Speaker 4: a million dollars. And it looks it just looks not
- 3:19Speaker 4: very nice and look styling is entirely subjective, which is
- 3:22Speaker 4: why I don't really care what it looks like like
- 3:24Speaker 4: some people might like it or not like it. This
- 3:26Speaker 4: doesn't really bother me too much. I'm there to talk
- 3:28Speaker 4: about the engineering and the car itself. But yeah, it
- 3:31Speaker 4: is challenging from a styling point of view. I just
- 3:34Speaker 4: don't know any angles that actually work for it.
- 3:36Speaker 3: It is divided on opinion. What was the vibe in
- 3:40Speaker 3: the room.
- 3:41Speaker 2: People were shocked And this is the thing.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Can you imagine?
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Can you? I can't imagine being like one of those
- 3:48Speaker 3: execs like Tuda.
- 3:50Speaker 4: And the hard thing was we were there the night
- 3:52Speaker 4: before the global reveal, So when we were there, the
- 3:57Speaker 4: reveal was just for the media and all these people
- 3:59Speaker 4: they flew in that customers the day after and for
- 4:02Speaker 4: the media. You probably don't care too much what the
- 4:04Speaker 4: media thinks. They're not buying your car. But everything I've
- 4:07Speaker 4: seen from customers is divided as well. So if you've
- 4:10Speaker 4: got customers that aren't interested in it, they claim that
- 4:13Speaker 4: they're targeting a different market, which is fair enough. Maybe
- 4:16Speaker 4: that's the angle they're going to go for, But even
- 4:19Speaker 4: a different market, luxury evs just no one's buying them
- 4:23Speaker 4: Ferrari's existing plug in hybrids have horrendous resale value, so
- 4:28Speaker 4: a fully electric Ferrari is not going to do much better.
- 4:30Speaker 4: But from a technical standpoint, though we had a lot
- 4:34Speaker 4: of time to get talking to all the engineers involved
- 4:36Speaker 4: in the project. From a technical standpoint, it's actually a
- 4:38Speaker 4: pretty cool setup. They have gone above and beyond here
- 4:41Speaker 4: in terms of the engineering.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Aspect, and it's funny.
- 4:44Speaker 4: With a standard electric car, you always want to try
- 4:46Speaker 4: and get as much life out of the battery range
- 4:49Speaker 4: and longevity, whereas these guys want to do the opposite.
- 4:52Speaker 4: They know that most Ferrari owners have their cars sitting around,
- 4:55Speaker 4: not driven daily, so they need to actually make the
- 4:58Speaker 4: battery survive a long time without being driven, which.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Is quite hard to do.
- 5:02Speaker 4: If you leave a battery empty or full, they're both
- 5:05Speaker 4: not good for the battery longer term. So they've got
- 5:07Speaker 4: like a special mode there to keep the battery at
- 5:09Speaker 4: an optimum sort of percentage for you to just leave
- 5:13Speaker 4: it sitting there.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Stuff like the suspension.
- 5:15Speaker 4: It doesn't use standard hydraulic dampers or anything that I've
- 5:20Speaker 4: seen in other cars before. They actually use like a
- 5:22Speaker 4: bolt screw that goes up and down rapidly to adjust
- 5:26Speaker 4: the sort of heighten the firmness of the suspension, which
- 5:28Speaker 4: is crazy. The battery cell is entirely interchangeable, So what
- 5:32Speaker 4: they're saying is that in the future, when battery densities improved,
- 5:36Speaker 4: they can actually swap out the battery so that you
- 5:39Speaker 4: don't have to have a battery that's ten or fifteen
- 5:41Speaker 4: years old. You can actually swap it out with a
- 5:43Speaker 4: new one.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Now, did I hear that they're going to be free
- 5:45Speaker 3: of charge?
- 5:46Speaker 4: No, So they are all sort of They have a
- 5:49Speaker 4: program so when you buy a new Ferrari, you get
- 5:51Speaker 4: seven years of free servicing, like it's included in the
- 5:53Speaker 4: purchase price. You then have the option of extending beyond
- 5:56Speaker 4: that seven years for extra warranty, which a lot of
- 5:59Speaker 4: owners will do. They also have a hybrid program, so
- 6:02Speaker 4: any car with a battery and it once you extend
- 6:05Speaker 4: that warranty for a certain period, you can actually just
- 6:07Speaker 4: have the battery replaced as part of that package, so
- 6:10Speaker 4: it is free in a sense.
- 6:12Speaker 2: The interior, like you can.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Clearly tell that Love from which is the company that's
- 6:17Speaker 4: that's run by Johnny Ive.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And these are the guys who make the iPhone, right
- 6:21Speaker 3: or you design the.
- 6:21Speaker 4: iPhone ye and Mark newsoon he's the Australian bloke that
- 6:25Speaker 4: does a whole bunch of stuff, including for Quantus and whatever.
- 6:28Speaker 4: These guys were designing the Apple Car and that project died,
- 6:33Speaker 4: and it is immediately obvious that this is just the
- 6:36Speaker 4: Apple Car. Basically Ferrari had no involvement in the designs.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Is the first car they've entirely outsourced to a different company.
- 6:44Speaker 4: So you can see with the interior it's basically an
- 6:46Speaker 4: Apple Watch. Is the same cool parts to that interior. Actually,
- 6:50Speaker 4: the interior I love. I think the interior is fantastic.
- 6:52Speaker 4: The way that they've got the screen, the screen's.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Functionality, you can kind of maneuver it. I think that's
- 6:58Speaker 3: very cool.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's all excellent.
- 6:59Speaker 4: So from that point of view, if you look at
- 7:01Speaker 4: the car in isolation, it is actually quite impressive from
- 7:04Speaker 4: an engineering standpoint, what they've managed to achieve the problem is, though,
- 7:08Speaker 4: is it a Ferrari And you can see just social
- 7:10Speaker 4: media blew up, even Ferrari's own Instagram page, where you
- 7:14Speaker 4: wouldn't expect there to be fallout, was insane. I've never
- 7:18Speaker 4: seen anything like it like it is.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's funny when Ferrari releases something on Instagram,
- 7:24Speaker 3: I go straight to the comments. I just even if
- 7:27Speaker 3: it's got nothing to do with the leucha. People are like,
- 7:30Speaker 3: is this going to be like the term you've fucked
- 7:31Speaker 3: up the lu Chu yeah or whatever. It's like, oh God,
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's what I kind of don't get, like that sort
- 7:37Speaker 3: of mentality of Oh, if Enzo Ferrari were around today,
- 7:41Speaker 3: it'd be rolling in his grave like it's been some
- 7:43Speaker 3: sort of Olympic fucking sport for the past thirty years
- 7:46Speaker 3: or whatever it is. He would have been rolling in
- 7:47Speaker 3: his graves since the invention of fucking power steering.
- 7:51Speaker 4: He's exactly you know what I mean, exactly, Yeah, that's
- 7:54Speaker 4: that's the thing. It's not an electric car that's going
- 7:56Speaker 4: to set him over the edge. It's like, after he
- 7:59Speaker 4: passed away, Ferrari really took a turn in terms of profitability.
- 8:04Speaker 4: They are now worth a huge sum of money of
- 8:06Speaker 4: eight percent less after the lu Che launch. They lost
- 8:09Speaker 4: billions of dollars in market value after that, but it
- 8:11Speaker 4: is a huge company. It is about driving profits. It's
- 8:14Speaker 4: no longer about just a motive experiences behind the wheel,
- 8:17Speaker 4: because if it was, you wouldn't be releasing half the
- 8:19Speaker 4: stuff you're releasing.
- 8:20Speaker 3: So those days of Enzo just long gone.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Like there is still the heritage there, but it is
- 8:26Speaker 4: not as if Ferrari is just doing drivers cars.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Because that they can't survive on just a driver's car.
- 8:33Speaker 2: It is now about everything.
- 8:34Speaker 4: You at SUVs, the Testosa is hybridized, like all of
- 8:38Speaker 4: this stuff is not traditional.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I mean, this kind of reminds me of when Porsche
- 8:42Speaker 3: released the Cayenne back in two thousand and one or
- 8:45Speaker 3: whatever it was. People were up in arms, but it
- 8:47Speaker 3: saved the company.
- 8:48Speaker 2: And look at it now.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Everyone everyone that owns a Porsche sports car probably has
- 8:52Speaker 4: a Cayenne or a mcconnald.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Not the electric yeah, yeah, definitely not the electric one. Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I think Ferrari have done a great job on making
- 9:01Speaker 3: somebody else's car, you know what I mean? This is
- 9:05Speaker 3: really something else, and I think it's almost like they've
- 9:08Speaker 3: gone from this poster boy car company to now the
- 9:13Speaker 3: euro admissions laws have kind of forced them to design
- 9:17Speaker 3: a car for an EV focused group, which.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I don't understand.
- 9:20Speaker 4: It's surely you would carve out something for Ferrari and
- 9:23Speaker 4: Lamborghini Maserati and go okay, you guys are not selling
- 9:28Speaker 4: these cars in enormous volumes, so you're exempt from this.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Why do you have to hybridize a fee twelve Ferrari like,
- 9:36Speaker 4: it just makes no sense to me at all. So
- 9:38Speaker 4: I just think that stuff is entirely stupid, and they
- 9:42Speaker 4: really should be exempt from it because it wouldn't cause
- 9:44Speaker 4: them to have to do stuff like this.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I wonder what's going to happen with this, and I
- 9:48Speaker 3: wonder why they don't consult. Surely there's got to be
- 9:51Speaker 3: people where they go, what do you think before we
- 9:55Speaker 3: launch it? Because it's generally I haven't seen a launch
- 9:59Speaker 3: this bad since perhaps the Jaguar rebrand.
- 10:05Speaker 4: And the Jaguar rebrand the car itself, you know, whatever
- 10:10Speaker 4: it is. You could take or leave the design. And
- 10:12Speaker 4: the issue with the Jaguar rebrand is how woke they
- 10:14Speaker 4: went with all the random shit they did with advertising it.
- 10:17Speaker 4: These guys didn't even do that and people didn't like it.
- 10:20Speaker 4: So you can imagine if Ferrari took that one step
- 10:22Speaker 4: further and had a man dressed as a woman or
- 10:24Speaker 4: something like that advertising this thing, I think the Internet
- 10:28Speaker 4: would melt down. So yeah, I think it's it's really
- 10:32Speaker 4: interesting to see how the perception has gone. No one's
- 10:35Speaker 4: driven it yet, so I mean.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I think it'd be interesting if this thing drives amazing.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Can you imagine if this thing was just an incredible experience.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it should. I mean it's a Ferrari, so it
- 10:46Speaker 2: will drive well.
- 10:47Speaker 4: And some people that argue against that, well, yeah, I
- 10:49Speaker 4: mean we're talking to the chief test driver who's done
- 10:52Speaker 4: Ferraris now for decades, and as a guy that knows
- 10:56Speaker 4: how to drive and knows how to engineer a car,
- 10:59Speaker 4: I don't think he's going to be going and putting
- 11:01Speaker 4: his name on something that's that's a tur to drive.
- 11:03Speaker 4: So maybe they will change the way that the driving
- 11:06Speaker 4: experience is for an electric car, which which could be
- 11:09Speaker 4: a good or bad thing.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I don't know, but yeah, look.
- 11:12Speaker 4: I'll be curious to see. I think people will buy
- 11:14Speaker 4: them if they want to stand out. You think about like.
- 11:18Speaker 3: It's the same as the cyber truck, you know what I.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Mean exactly, Or you think about countless other designer brands
- 11:23Speaker 4: that release stupid looking shit, like you've got Balenciaga shoes
- 11:26Speaker 4: that are rainbow colored that people will wear because they're
- 11:29Speaker 4: Balenciaga or a Burken bag that looks like it's from
- 11:32Speaker 4: the sixties.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Oh you know your designers your handbags, they go on, Yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 3: I didn't notice in today your beautiful heels on.
- 11:43Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean it's people will buy it because
- 11:45Speaker 4: they want to be in a Ferrari. At the end
- 11:46Speaker 4: of the day, people are brand Horse. It is, but
- 11:49Speaker 4: people are brand Horse, so they will buy it from
- 11:51Speaker 4: that point of view. And I don't think they are
- 11:53Speaker 4: ever expecting it to be a mass consumer car, which
- 11:55Speaker 4: none of these fully electric cars are. You look at
- 11:57Speaker 4: the sales that Rolls Royce spector, I mean that, and
- 12:00Speaker 4: the resale is horrific, like even worse than a normal
- 12:04Speaker 4: Rolls Royce. So I think it's just electric cars in
- 12:06Speaker 4: general from these luxury brands people are just not interested in.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I don't even think there's that much of a big deal.
- 12:11Speaker 3: There was an argument that this should probably be a
- 12:13Speaker 3: separate division of Ferrari, which I found an interesting argument.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I think. I mean, yeah, they've got to evolve. I
- 12:21Speaker 3: guess I can't sort of if they're going to evolve,
- 12:25Speaker 3: this is probably the avenue to do it is on
- 12:28Speaker 3: an ev because they've got a specific clientele.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Anyway, Well, I'm curious anyone listening to this hello them?
- 12:37Speaker 3: Thank you first, Thank you, I really appreciate it.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Thanks Mama.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Yeah, send us an email contact at the Drivers Show
- 12:43Speaker 4: dot com today you let us know your thoughts.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Do any of you like it?
- 12:47Speaker 4: I know that we'll probably get ten thousand emails saying,
- 12:48Speaker 4: oh look shit, fair enough, that's done. Let us know
- 12:52Speaker 4: if you like it all or what you think it
- 12:54Speaker 4: is actually good for, because that's the.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Thing I'm interested in. Does anyone actually like it?
- 13:00Speaker 3: I have to say, like, I'm not a passionate hater
- 13:04Speaker 3: of it like some. I just think I'm very much
- 13:08Speaker 3: a fence hitter. And you know me, I have a
- 13:10Speaker 3: fat boy.
- 13:11Speaker 2: So that's it.
- 13:13Speaker 3: You know how to how to sit on a fat boy?
- 13:20Speaker 2: Roll the roll the wrist over what I'm the fat boy?
- 13:24Speaker 3: Oh yeah right, Oh jeez, you've got quite the technique there.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Just be careful when it's first radio, when it's wet,
- 13:31Speaker 2: your clubs might slip a little.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Okay, all right, thank you for giving me your Donna
- 13:35Speaker 3: tips for today. That's good to know. Why are you
- 13:40Speaker 3: drinking fucking cordial? It's not cordial, It's it's just like
- 13:43Speaker 3: a is it like an energy.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Drink like a what do you call them? An electrolyte thing?
- 13:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah that.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Did you have a big night as well? Oh?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Mate, the biggest? Yeah did you?
- 13:54Speaker 4: I had to put the daughter to sleep at seven
- 13:56Speaker 4: and then OKFC eight.
- 13:58Speaker 3: A fingerlick and go. There's one thing I've learned from Donnie.
- 14:02Speaker 3: You do like a greasy box. Do you know what
- 14:08Speaker 3: I do love about KFC is not the actual chicken.
- 14:10Speaker 3: It's the refresher tallettes.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Which they've stopped putting in bags. Well, I have it
- 14:15Speaker 4: our locals, so I don't know. Maybe there's a bag shortage,
- 14:18Speaker 4: Maybe there's.
- 14:18Speaker 3: A yeah in this in this fucking environment, I want
- 14:22Speaker 3: my refresher toal letts well times too? Yeah for an apple? Yeah,
- 14:26Speaker 3: I need a couple. Put them in the bedside draw.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I need a little bit of a refresh finger licking,
- 14:36Speaker 3: good baby you that's disgusting. Something that's not disgusting. Or
- 14:42Speaker 3: maybe it was Beijing the Motor Show. How do you go?
- 14:47Speaker 3: You spent a little bit of time in Beijing. You
- 14:49Speaker 3: tested a lot of Chinesey Chinese cars, Look at them.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Just give me the subtitle of what the Beijing Motor
- 14:55Speaker 3: Show is for the for the automotive industry. What would
- 14:58Speaker 3: you describe it as? Fucking huge?
- 15:00Speaker 4: It is the world's biggest motor show. This never used
- 15:03Speaker 4: to be the case ten fifteen years ago. It was
- 15:05Speaker 4: always the European shows.
- 15:06Speaker 3: They're dead now.
- 15:07Speaker 4: So I went to Shanghai last year because they alternate,
- 15:11Speaker 4: so Shanghai then Beijing alternate each year. Shanghai I thought
- 15:15Speaker 4: was enormous. Beijing I was not expecting to be this big.
- 15:18Speaker 4: So just to put it into context, they've built a
- 15:20Speaker 4: new exhibition center and it's attached to the old exhibition center.
- 15:24Speaker 4: The old exhibition center is probably similar in size to
- 15:27Speaker 4: the Melbourne or Sydney exhibition centers. The new one is
- 15:31Speaker 4: six times the size of that. So from one end
- 15:34Speaker 4: of the motor show to the other is about one
- 15:36Speaker 4: and a half kilometers just walking Jesus, So that's one way.
- 15:39Speaker 4: You then do one and a half kilometers. You do
- 15:42Speaker 4: one and a half k's the opposite way as well,
- 15:45Speaker 4: So you've got three k's worth of strolling to get
- 15:48Speaker 4: through all these halls, and every single hall is full.
- 15:51Speaker 4: It's not like the dying days of the European motor
- 15:54Speaker 4: shows where you had these big halls, but there were
- 15:56Speaker 4: gaps the size of a football field between brands. They
- 15:59Speaker 4: are all tightly packed.
- 16:00Speaker 3: As in the Melbourne Motor Show.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Yeah it didn't go to it, but it sounded a
- 16:04Speaker 4: bit shit. So but yeah, this is the thing.
- 16:07Speaker 2: It's it is enormous from a scale point of view.
- 16:10Speaker 4: We were there on the two media days, and even
- 16:13Speaker 4: the media days are out of this world. I had
- 16:15Speaker 4: a colleague who went back on a public day and
- 16:17Speaker 4: she said it was like even like ten times more
- 16:20Speaker 4: than so it is insane. Now, these brands are interesting
- 16:26Speaker 4: because a lot of the brands are sub brands of
- 16:28Speaker 4: sub brands. So you'll have the Sake Group, which will
- 16:32Speaker 4: have a sub brand of MG. MG will have a
- 16:34Speaker 4: sub brand of whatever, which will then have a sub
- 16:37Speaker 4: brand of whatever I am or something like that. Yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 4: so you've got all of these brands you've never heard of,
- 16:41Speaker 4: and when you trace the family tree, they all go
- 16:43Speaker 4: back to maybe the ten parent brands of some sort.
- 16:47Speaker 4: So it is just so fascinating to see how many
- 16:49Speaker 4: of these are popping up. There is no shortage of variety.
- 16:52Speaker 4: You've got everything from cheap and cheerful shitters through to
- 16:56Speaker 4: these high end luxury cars that are many hundreds of
- 16:58Speaker 4: thousands of dollars. And you can see that the Chinese
- 17:02Speaker 4: are fully into it, because again, ten or fifteen years ago,
- 17:05Speaker 4: the Chinese didn't buy Chinese cars. You'd be a sucker
- 17:09Speaker 4: if you bought one. These days, they're not buying anything European.
- 17:12Speaker 4: And it's so interesting to see Audi. Audi was actually
- 17:15Speaker 4: one of the first foreign brands to enter China, and
- 17:19Speaker 4: it's perceived by the Chinese as being, you know, the
- 17:23Speaker 4: European car brand.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and they took the logo off.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's like the European car brand, but it
- 17:28Speaker 4: comes with an old person image. So they realized this
- 17:31Speaker 4: and they said, okay, we're going to have North Audi
- 17:33Speaker 4: and South Audi. Really one of those is going to
- 17:37Speaker 4: have the rings, the other will just have Audi written.
- 17:41Speaker 4: So they're just it's hilarious how Audi which ones we're German.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Audi has no choice in it. They're just like, well,
- 17:48Speaker 4: you know, prior to a few years ago, every car
- 17:52Speaker 4: company that wanted to sell a car in China had
- 17:54Speaker 4: to have a JV with a joint venture with a
- 17:56Speaker 4: local Chinese car company that would own majority percentage. And
- 18:00Speaker 4: what you found is that as these majority percentage owned
- 18:03Speaker 4: Chinese companies learnt more and more, they would then launch
- 18:07Speaker 4: their own spin off sub brands. So this is how
- 18:10Speaker 4: some of these car companies that were joint ventures are
- 18:13Speaker 4: now launching their own cars.
- 18:16Speaker 2: It's like the Bronco.
- 18:17Speaker 4: For example, Broncho New Energy is produced by a Chinese company,
- 18:21Speaker 4: but they get to leverage the Bronco name even though
- 18:24Speaker 4: it's not anything to do with the Bronco that comes
- 18:26Speaker 4: from the States.
- 18:27Speaker 3: So is that that Bronco that we're getting. Yeah, is
- 18:30Speaker 3: that one of them? Yeah?
- 18:31Speaker 2: It is, and it is really cool.
- 18:33Speaker 4: So we're getting this by the end of this year,
- 18:34Speaker 4: and it is going to be really sharply priced plug
- 18:37Speaker 4: in hybrid forward product, but heaps a room inside you
- 18:43Speaker 4: are Broncos, so it kind of has that styling to it.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Even the Ranger that they sell in China has a
- 18:49Speaker 4: ZF transmission, which we don't have available here. It's got
- 18:51Speaker 4: all these features that we don't have access to, even
- 18:54Speaker 4: though it is the same car.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 4: So yeah, Look, Beijing motors show unreal and I think
- 19:01Speaker 4: a lot of people think in the back of their
- 19:02Speaker 4: minds that China is like a third world country. If
- 19:06Speaker 4: you haven't been to China in the past ten to
- 19:08Speaker 4: fifteen years, you will just be blown away at how
- 19:10Speaker 4: advanced it is. Like it is, it is on another level.
- 19:13Speaker 4: So I challenge I challenge that thinking and the other
- 19:16Speaker 4: hilarious thing I find every time we publish anything on
- 19:19Speaker 4: a Chinese car company, we're told how we're sponsored by
- 19:22Speaker 4: the CCP. It's like, mate, Australians are sick of getting
- 19:27Speaker 4: ripped off. Like you look at a rap four for example,
- 19:30Speaker 4: or a land Cruiser. These things are outrageously overpriced. So
- 19:33Speaker 4: when you get the Chinese come in and actually provide
- 19:35Speaker 4: value for money, everyone's up in arms and it's like, well, look,
- 19:38Speaker 4: if you want to still pay for the brand, go
- 19:40Speaker 4: for it. But a lot of people are struggling at
- 19:43Speaker 4: the moment. They want a new car without having to
- 19:45Speaker 4: spend an arm and a leg, and that is the
- 19:47Speaker 4: Chinese car.
- 19:47Speaker 3: By Oh my god, yeah totally.
- 19:49Speaker 4: For the record, I'm not sponsored by the CCP. If
- 19:51Speaker 4: I was, I wuldn't be drinking Cordial talking to Gordy.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that is the designated Cordial, a drink of choice.
- 20:00Speaker 3: And Paul has come in. I love that red T
- 20:02Speaker 3: shirt you're wearing today. What's that writing say on the
- 20:05Speaker 3: very bottom tag? Yeah?
- 20:07Speaker 2: I went.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I went to China about eight years ago, and I
- 20:09Speaker 3: was just blown away just by the atmosphere of the
- 20:13Speaker 3: whole place. Like it's so interesting when you kind of
- 20:16Speaker 3: go to places like that in the world and you're like, Oh,
- 20:20Speaker 3: we're really fucking lacking in a lot of ways, a
- 20:23Speaker 3: lot of ways. Like they're so progressive. What's interesting about
- 20:27Speaker 3: China is they're so progressive, yet they do on a
- 20:30Speaker 3: kind of tradition as well.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's kind of like Japan in that sense.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Japan carries on that culture and tradition, but with the Chinese,
- 20:38Speaker 4: I find it really fascinating. I posted a thing on
- 20:41Speaker 4: Instagram about traveled by high speed trains. I went to
- 20:44Speaker 4: visit a factory where we're buying some stuff for this
- 20:46Speaker 4: other business I've got, And I went to this trade
- 20:48Speaker 4: fair as well, and I used it.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I was going to ask you about that trade fair
- 20:51Speaker 3: I had made too. Went to that, Yeah, and that
- 20:54Speaker 3: is incredible. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I want another level.
- 20:57Speaker 4: But yeah, I used high speed trains to get between places,
- 20:59Speaker 4: and like, I'm sitting in a train and in this
- 21:02Speaker 4: little business class suite doing three hundred and fifty ks
- 21:05Speaker 4: an hour, and here in Australia.
- 21:07Speaker 3: You can't even get a fucking train to the airport,
- 21:09Speaker 3: it exactly.
- 21:10Speaker 4: And you want to catch a v line from Melbourne
- 21:12Speaker 4: to Geelong and you're on this old diesel shipbox that
- 21:14Speaker 4: will do one hundred and ten k's an hour. It's like,
- 21:16Speaker 4: what is what planet are we on here? And even
- 21:20Speaker 4: the Chinese work ethic. If you run a business in Australia,
- 21:23Speaker 4: you'll know how hard it is to employ and retain people,
- 21:26Speaker 4: how hard it is to get someone to come to
- 21:28Speaker 4: an office. Everyone thinks that are entitled to just sit
- 21:30Speaker 4: at home all day and pretend like they're working.
- 21:32Speaker 2: You don't have that in China. If you run a factory,
- 21:34Speaker 2: you come to work. If you don't come to work,
- 21:36Speaker 2: you can fuck off.
- 21:37Speaker 3: That's that don't need a kind of mentality I love.
- 21:40Speaker 4: And also if you look at the government, if you
- 21:44Speaker 4: you ignore the communism thing, there is a merit to
- 21:47Speaker 4: having a static government because it means that if you
- 21:49Speaker 4: have a ten or fifteen year plan for your country,
- 21:52Speaker 4: you start the plan now and you don't deviate from it. Here,
- 21:55Speaker 4: if you decide we want to do high speed rail,
- 21:57Speaker 4: you'll get the next government come in and they'll go
- 22:00Speaker 4: and delete that project. It happened in Victoria without the
- 22:03Speaker 4: East whistling.
- 22:04Speaker 2: They're meant to build.
- 22:05Speaker 4: The new government came in tore up a billion dollar
- 22:08Speaker 4: contract because they didn't like the look of it. And
- 22:10Speaker 4: it's like, okay, look at the state Victoria is in now,
- 22:12Speaker 4: barely even have enough money to run the lights.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Yeah, couldn't even afford the Commonwealth Games.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 4: So it's it's stuff like that that just doesn't work
- 22:19Speaker 4: with this democratic society where you've got three or four
- 22:22Speaker 4: year terms because nothing ever sticks, so you just end
- 22:25Speaker 4: up wasting all this money and you've got a counterproductive society.
- 22:28Speaker 4: So but anyway, then there are some negatives to China, obviously,
- 22:31Speaker 4: like you've seen it all in the media, but if
- 22:34Speaker 4: you look at the positives, they are so far.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Ahead and people just need to get with reality.
- 22:40Speaker 3: I think China for many years has thrived on the
- 22:43Speaker 3: fact that they've been almost like the underdog if you
- 22:46Speaker 3: look at Chinese history. I mean, now they're just fuck
- 22:49Speaker 3: they're showing the world, they're leading the way in EV's
- 22:51Speaker 3: like no one wants to. I do think they've got
- 22:54Speaker 3: a little bit to go with their almost their interpretation
- 22:57Speaker 3: of Western culture, especially when they're designing designing a car,
- 23:02Speaker 3: like when they do borrow things, design aspects and parts
- 23:09Speaker 3: of other cars. They do it in a cheap way,
- 23:12Speaker 3: but they try to make it look luxurious, and it's like,
- 23:14Speaker 3: just make it fucking properly luxurious.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we actually did.
- 23:18Speaker 4: While we were over there, we did a factory tour
- 23:21Speaker 4: with Cherry.
- 23:22Speaker 2: We published that video the other day.
- 23:24Speaker 4: It's already got like two hundred and fifty thousand views,
- 23:26Speaker 4: and that was kind of an eye opener for me
- 23:27Speaker 4: as well. I've done factory tours in heaps of places
- 23:31Speaker 4: Australia when we were manufacturing throughout Europe, throughout Eastern Europe,
- 23:35Speaker 4: the US, India, Japan, so I've been to a lot
- 23:39Speaker 4: of factories around the world. We did this tour, We
- 23:42Speaker 4: saw a crash test, toured everything from the design studio
- 23:45Speaker 4: through to cool Yeah, the crash test was interesting.
- 23:48Speaker 3: That's cool. But it is no different to any other
- 23:50Speaker 3: factory I've been to.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Like it's not world class, Like it's not like they're
- 23:54Speaker 4: doing something that I haven't seen before, but it's no
- 23:57Speaker 4: worse than anything I've ever seen. So even the manufacturing stuff,
- 24:00Speaker 4: it's not to a low quality. It is just to
- 24:02Speaker 4: the same standard you see everywhere else, so I think
- 24:05Speaker 4: people were surprised by that.
- 24:06Speaker 2: In the video.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, the crash test was interesting.
- 24:07Speaker 4: So they did a head on crash test with a
- 24:10Speaker 4: Ti Go nine and a tick Go seven I think.
- 24:13Speaker 4: But then what they did was, as the head on
- 24:16Speaker 4: crash test happened, they had a sled, which represents another car,
- 24:20Speaker 4: which is I think a fourteen hundred kilo vehicle, crash
- 24:22Speaker 4: into the back of one of the cars. So basically,
- 24:25Speaker 4: as the head on crash happened, this sled smashed into
- 24:28Speaker 4: the back of one of the other cars. So you
- 24:29Speaker 4: had a car that was double handled effectively by a
- 24:32Speaker 4: car at the front and then the sled. And yes,
- 24:36Speaker 4: so what they do this four is to understand whether
- 24:39Speaker 4: you can still open doors and wheather air bags go off,
- 24:42Speaker 4: what happens.
- 24:42Speaker 3: With the door handles, all that sort of stuff.
- 24:44Speaker 4: So it was just really fascinating to see. And it's
- 24:47Speaker 4: this crash facility is enormous. They've got like a three
- 24:50Speaker 4: hundred meter runway where the crash happens, so the cars
- 24:52Speaker 4: are pulled along on a on like a metal guide.
- 24:55Speaker 4: But this place is very different to others I've been
- 24:58Speaker 4: to because you have another five set of angles they
- 25:00Speaker 4: can do crash tests from. So you've got not only
- 25:03Speaker 4: your your sort of one hundred and eighty degree one,
- 25:05Speaker 4: but then they spark off in like forty five degree
- 25:08Speaker 4: thirty degree angles, so you can actually do crash tests
- 25:11Speaker 4: where one car is going straight and then another car
- 25:13Speaker 4: has come in from from the side and.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Different different crumple zone of stuff. A guy who gets
- 25:19Speaker 3: to push the button that was worked today, honey, that
- 25:21Speaker 3: would be a fucking cool job. Fus another car up, Yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 3: just get to push the button and watch cuz crush.
- 25:28Speaker 3: It's really fun. But say that with the Chinese act,
- 25:32Speaker 3: which you're not alone, Yeah, which I can't do anymore.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 25:38Speaker 4: I just urge people, while a Chinese car may not
- 25:41Speaker 4: be for you, I just think, go test trifon because
- 25:44Speaker 4: I think a lot of people that comment have just
- 25:46Speaker 4: never sat in one and never driven one.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Everyone's saying, well, new shit, Ah, look what have you
- 25:52Speaker 3: got to compare it to, mate? What are you going
- 25:53Speaker 3: to compare it to?
- 25:54Speaker 2: Amazing?
- 25:55Speaker 4: But I think if you understand what people are buying
- 25:57Speaker 4: them for to get from A to B and to
- 25:59Speaker 4: get a new car instead of a used one, they
- 26:01Speaker 4: kind of do the job.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I'll tell you what is quite impressive is that bloody
- 26:04Speaker 3: BYD boat, that boat that came out here the other day.
- 26:07Speaker 3: The giant, the giant boat. And you go a car
- 26:10Speaker 3: manufacturer that literally has a gigantic fucking boat and is
- 26:15Speaker 3: just delivering ten thousand BYD cars because of you know,
- 26:19Speaker 3: obviously we they've shot up in sales. It's like, wow,
- 26:23Speaker 3: that's that's incredible.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Well, let's let's put some of it into context, because
- 26:28Speaker 4: our guys did a sales piece the other day with Vfax,
- 26:32Speaker 4: which is the industry sales numbers effectively that come out
- 26:36Speaker 4: each month, and it was so fascinating to see the situation.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Toyota's in at the moment.
- 26:42Speaker 4: So Toyota, despite being one of Austraightia's most popular manufacturers,
- 26:46Speaker 4: their sales have dropped thirty percent year on year. So
- 26:50Speaker 4: it's so since the beginning of twenty twenty six, their
- 26:53Speaker 4: new vehicle deliveries have dropped by almost twenty five percent.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Now they're claiming its access to stock, which I don't
- 26:59Speaker 4: believe because.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Well they've always that I reckon. They took a long
- 27:02Speaker 3: time to recover after the COVID fuck up, especially with
- 27:06Speaker 3: them with producing cars. I mean, you remember how how
- 27:09Speaker 3: long we all waited for a Toyota was.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Incredible that that should be well and truly fixed.
- 27:14Speaker 3: By exactly I think they've got they have.
- 27:16Speaker 4: You've got much bigger problems. But Prado sales are down
- 27:19Speaker 4: forty five percent, So I don't know. I just think
- 27:23Speaker 4: that I reckon they're actually feeling a lot of what's
- 27:26Speaker 4: going on with the influx of Chinese cars, and they
- 27:30Speaker 4: kind of followed up.
- 27:30Speaker 2: It was quite cheesy.
- 27:32Speaker 4: So byd did there, Hey, we've got seven thousand cars
- 27:35Speaker 4: coming on the boat. Toyota followed up with one that
- 27:38Speaker 4: said we have ten thousand cars coming next month.
- 27:41Speaker 2: It's like, okay, guys, you're.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Trying to ride the coattails of these guys who have
- 27:45Speaker 4: their own giant boat. You're like, oh, look over here,
- 27:48Speaker 4: we've got cars coming too, even.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Though we're down. My dad bought a land Cruiser about
- 27:54Speaker 3: twelve months ago, decided he fucking is bored of it,
- 27:58Speaker 3: put about a thousand kilometers on it, and just put
- 28:03Speaker 3: it on the market. I think he's put it on there.
- 28:05Speaker 3: He's had it on there for one week, hasn't even
- 28:07Speaker 3: had a fucking phone call. Oh really. Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 3: it's pretty cheap too, but I don't want to buy it.
- 28:13Speaker 3: It's it was the Prato, so he bought that whenever
- 28:15Speaker 3: the Prado came out. Yeah, it's just like, nah, it's
- 28:18Speaker 3: too big or I don't know. I think he was
- 28:20Speaker 3: toying with a Tesla and I don't. You can't even
- 28:22Speaker 3: figure out fucking Apple car. Play Dad, you're not doing it.
- 28:26Speaker 2: To worry about it doesn't have an Apple car play.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right, you're not doing a Tesla. Actually, did
- 28:31Speaker 3: I see the model? Wise now the highest selling car
- 28:35Speaker 3: in Australia.
- 28:36Speaker 2: One of it's the highest selling electric car last month
- 28:39Speaker 2: they had a check.
- 28:40Speaker 3: That because I was sure that they maybe it was
- 28:43Speaker 3: saved the month of May or something. They became the
- 28:46Speaker 3: highest the model I was the.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right, actually yeah, so May twenty six Tesla
- 28:51Speaker 4: Model why was the best selling car behind in front
- 28:54Speaker 4: of Ford Ranger, toy to high Lux and rap four's
- 28:59Speaker 4: And that's crazy. Give and the rab four is brand new.
- 29:01Speaker 4: They should be rushing out the door, but they're not.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Yeah that's really fascinating.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Yeah, well, their prices is not exactly competitive for a
- 29:12Speaker 3: for a FEV.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Really JCU J five was in the top ten, Cherry
- 29:16Speaker 4: Tigo four top ten, I sus D Max is slipping.
- 29:21Speaker 4: It's just so fascinating to see the list of cars
- 29:24Speaker 4: here that are making the top twenty.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Speaking of the Jacus, I've spent probably the last three
- 29:30Speaker 3: months of this year driving every JCU and Emota out there.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Uh huh. Interesting. It's funny how they kind of vary
- 29:38Speaker 3: from car to car, Like the J five is very different.
- 29:41Speaker 2: From the J seven.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Well, you know the funny thing is when we're over
- 29:46Speaker 4: doing that factory tour, they renamed the cars for Australia,
- 29:49Speaker 4: so some over there are cherries, some are Jcu's. It's
- 29:53Speaker 4: really I still don't understand how it works. But in
- 29:55Speaker 4: Australia they change the names of them, so some of
- 29:58Speaker 4: the cheaper ones, they'll go whack her Jaku badge on them, right,
- 30:01Speaker 4: which is why you feel the difference between some of them.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah, well I feel the difference definitely, say between a
- 30:06Speaker 3: Jacu and like the Emmota almost seemed like the luxury
- 30:11Speaker 3: branch out of Jacu. Yep, make the Lexus of Jacu
- 30:14Speaker 3: if you like. Yeah, it was wow. The J five
- 30:18Speaker 3: is the one with the pussy bag. Yes, the bacterial,
- 30:22Speaker 3: the antibacterial seats, which is great. It's great when you've
- 30:25Speaker 3: got Trevor in the car. Fuck. He usually leaves a
- 30:28Speaker 3: lot of brown stains. And I saw him in Beijing,
- 30:30Speaker 3: did Jack guess? Well, yeah, tell everyone where you found Trevor.
- 30:34Speaker 4: I snuck into a Macas to get a coffee and
- 30:37Speaker 4: he was living there. He claimed it was because it
- 30:39Speaker 4: was all in Chinese, but he ordered the entire first
- 30:42Speaker 4: page of the menu.
- 30:44Speaker 3: I saw him camped out the front of her backers.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Actually in Melbourne, CBD.
- 30:48Speaker 4: You know what the best part was, he just happened
- 30:50Speaker 4: to be getting on the same train. His group was
- 30:52Speaker 4: getting on the same train as we were. You were
- 30:54Speaker 4: in business class because they're in business class.
- 30:56Speaker 2: We walked ahead of like a thousand people in this line.
- 31:00Speaker 4: I just went straight onto the trev I was in
- 31:05Speaker 4: cattle class.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Fucking come on, mate, your bloody your ETM mate, You're
- 31:10Speaker 3: you're on the you're ETM at least by your bloody employees.
- 31:13Speaker 3: If you've got one fucking first class Chinese train ticket,
- 31:17Speaker 3: which I'm guessing does not cost much. I'm going to
- 31:20Speaker 3: Rome in a couple of in about three weeks. And
- 31:25Speaker 3: I'm taking the I'm taking a train from Italy to sorry,
- 31:29Speaker 3: from the Amafi coast or whatever it is into Rome.
- 31:32Speaker 3: And it was like, you can say, by two hundred
- 31:35Speaker 3: bucks for a normal train ticket and it's three hundred
- 31:39Speaker 3: bucks for you know, first class business or whatever. I'm yep,
- 31:42Speaker 3: that'll do. Yeah, it's fuck all, spend some money in
- 31:45Speaker 3: trev It's a tax deduction, you fucking Trevor.
- 31:48Speaker 2: He doesn't pay taxis looks like.
- 31:51Speaker 3: A drawing, like the thing is about Trevor. He's had
- 31:54Speaker 3: a glow up and he's like he's he's lost a
- 31:58Speaker 3: lot of weight and he's looking all right, but he's
- 32:00Speaker 3: still looks like a court drawing of a homeless person.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Just fucking every time I see him, I'm mate, have
- 32:08Speaker 3: a shave and that fucking side part isn't fooling anybody, Like,
- 32:13Speaker 3: just shave your head. You look like a politician that's homeless,
- 32:17Speaker 3: a disgraced politician.
- 32:18Speaker 4: In all series, it was good to see I love
- 32:20Speaker 4: him and just so random to see him at a
- 32:22Speaker 4: random random like Beijing McDonald's.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Well, you know, of all places.
- 32:27Speaker 3: He's like a lost boy in a supermarket. If you're
- 32:30Speaker 3: at a shopping center. Now, if you get lost, honey,
- 32:33Speaker 3: I'll meet you at the McDonald's. He's always going to
- 32:35Speaker 3: be at a McDonald's. It's Trevor. Oh god. Yeah. So
- 32:40Speaker 3: it was interesting driving every single, every single one of
- 32:43Speaker 3: Jacob's products lately. I think, like god, they they're well priced,
- 32:47Speaker 3: like that J five's thirty five grand and the J
- 32:49Speaker 3: seven's not much more. It's only a couple of grid's
- 32:51Speaker 3: still under forty grand. I mean, there's first glance, you go, wow,
- 32:56Speaker 3: this is quite a nice looking design. It's it's got
- 33:00Speaker 3: cool little party tricks with the lights and this and that.
- 33:03Speaker 3: When you sort of scratch the surface a little bit
- 33:06Speaker 3: and you kind of get where they're cutting costs, it
- 33:08Speaker 3: does feel a little bit cheap, but you kind of
- 33:10Speaker 3: got to go, yeah, you are cheap. You're thirty five grand.
- 33:12Speaker 3: It's doing pretty well. I mean, you're getting all the
- 33:16Speaker 3: bits and pieces that luxury cars have, but probably does
- 33:20Speaker 3: have a bit of a cheapy, cheap feeling. But who cares.
- 33:24Speaker 3: It's thirty five grand. It's putting a whole family in
- 33:26Speaker 3: an suv that a modor nine. Holy shit, that's like
- 33:29Speaker 3: sixty grand. Fuck that thing's quick.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Have you been in that Holy moly, ye shot off
- 33:34Speaker 2: a shovel one.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Point five litre turbo three electric motors. What else did
- 33:39Speaker 3: I have here in my little notebook?
- 33:41Speaker 2: Massage suits?
- 33:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I couldn't. That thing pissed me off. That
- 33:45Speaker 3: was the one thing that I don't like about some
- 33:47Speaker 3: of these cars is the faff around in the screen.
- 33:51Speaker 2: That's bullshit. They are what they're doing.
- 33:53Speaker 4: I noticed, and they showed us some designs and some
- 33:56Speaker 4: future stuff they're working on. They're all integrating buttons again,
- 34:00Speaker 4: like everyone is putting buttons back on. And actually had
- 34:02Speaker 4: the chance to go into a Jami showroom they do
- 34:05Speaker 4: the sort of pure sun Way knockoff. And the other
- 34:08Speaker 4: thing they actually now sell an accessory you click onto
- 34:12Speaker 4: the screen that adds buttons down the bottom. Oh, it's
- 34:15Speaker 4: crazy how quickly they just turn stuff around. They're like, oh, okay,
- 34:18Speaker 4: people want buttons. Here's a thing will sell that's interesting.
- 34:21Speaker 3: And it clips on the bottom of the screen.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Yeah, so it sort of clicks onto the surrounds and
- 34:25Speaker 4: then at the bottom is where you push your buttons.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Wow, it's pretty cool. It's kind of cool. Yeah, no,
- 34:30Speaker 3: it it was a quick car, something like what three
- 34:33Speaker 3: hundred and ninety five killer watts. I don't know, roughly
- 34:36Speaker 3: nine hundred something means to talk. But that's a zero
- 34:39Speaker 3: to one hundred car and rounder five seconds. It's a
- 34:42Speaker 3: sixty thousand dollar car and it's it feels plush and
- 34:47Speaker 3: premium on the inside. Needs a pussy bag, I will say,
- 34:51Speaker 3: definitely needs a pussy bag. If you didn't hear the episode,
- 34:56Speaker 3: there was the J five came with this weird cage
- 34:59Speaker 3: in the of it and it was Jacob branded and
- 35:02Speaker 3: inside this kind of material cage, I'm like, what is that?
- 35:06Speaker 3: And there was like a there was a little circular
- 35:11Speaker 3: fish bowley backpack thing and you might see like you
- 35:17Speaker 3: might Actually it's very common. You'll see a Japanese girl
- 35:19Speaker 3: putting a pussy in it like a cat. She puts
- 35:22Speaker 3: a cat in it. Well, I've seen the Japanese girls.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, stuff the pussy in there, and it's cute.
- 35:32Speaker 3: It's a cute little puss puss bursting out of the sea,
- 35:36Speaker 3: get stuck in the geez. Sometimes I've seen some I've
- 35:40Speaker 3: seen some big pussies in those things and it looks
- 35:46Speaker 3: like a poorly pack suit case. It's like sometimes I've
- 35:52Speaker 3: seen I've seen someone walking around with the pussy bag,
- 35:56Speaker 3: and I'm like, is that a pussy looks like you've
- 36:00Speaker 3: just packed some fucking sheets. Tones did you under your
- 36:08Speaker 3: butcher's been in that thing? What have you done to
- 36:14Speaker 3: your pussy back? Oh you carry around lunch? Oh my god, yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 3: in trouble but yes, anyway, I do. I I will say,
- 36:31Speaker 3: if you want a gentle introduction to the EV scene,
- 36:36Speaker 3: go for a FEV like a J five, like a
- 36:39Speaker 3: J seven, J nine, whatever, they're all pick your size
- 36:43Speaker 3: and enjoy it because it's a it's a good little
- 36:45Speaker 3: halfway point. And fuck they're they're they're quick, they're smooth,
- 36:48Speaker 3: they're not perfect, but they're also bloody bloody a lot
- 36:53Speaker 3: of car for the money. Quickly. I'm going to be
- 36:57Speaker 3: spending some time in a prelude that would be interesting.
- 36:59Speaker 3: I had a qu can whip around somewhat unremarkable, but
- 37:04Speaker 3: depensive as well.
- 37:06Speaker 2: It's expensive as well. Sixty five boy boy, it's got
- 37:10Speaker 2: the engine out of the civic hybrid.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Why do they put a hybrid? Why'd you do that?
- 37:15Speaker 2: Now?
- 37:15Speaker 3: I think everyone wanted it to be fast fast, like, yeah,
- 37:18Speaker 3: civic type are fast. I wanted it to have a
- 37:21Speaker 3: type engine in there. But no, it just I think
- 37:24Speaker 3: they're banking on an engaging drive, a fun drive, rather
- 37:30Speaker 3: than a fast drive. It does look good, I will
- 37:32Speaker 3: say it looks good. The back looks great.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I mean, but that's the thing, A fun but not fast.
- 37:38Speaker 2: That's fine. But that's a Toyota eighty six.
- 37:40Speaker 3: I was just about to say it's exactly twenty grand list. Yep,
- 37:43Speaker 3: it's a lot smaller. Still, yeah, it's not the same thing.
- 37:46Speaker 3: You can still put kids in the back seats of
- 37:48Speaker 3: those things. Yeah, it's got enough for him for a
- 37:50Speaker 3: pussy bag.
- 37:51Speaker 2: For the backs.
- 37:52Speaker 3: You could probably fit two pussy bags in there. I
- 37:54Speaker 3: reckon a lot of the wet grown adults. What else?
- 38:00Speaker 3: What else haven't we mentioned?
- 38:01Speaker 4: Oh?
- 38:02Speaker 3: Two things? One quick look at the what is that
- 38:06Speaker 3: the Mercedes AMG four door? You're bitterly disappointed. I am
- 38:11Speaker 3: not so much. Yeah.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Look, I knew you were deaf, but I didn't realize
- 38:15Speaker 2: you were blind.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Oh, I'm both this. I didn't hear everyone saying it
- 38:20Speaker 3: was a shit car. I just I tried to. I
- 38:23Speaker 3: tried to brail it, and it is.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I reckon.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Mercedes has gone Oh thank fuck. Ferrari dropped the blue shakers.
- 38:29Speaker 4: People have stopped talking about this thing. And this is
- 38:33Speaker 4: yet again straight out of the Ferrari playbook. Mercedes had
- 38:37Speaker 4: every celebrity they could find at this launch, like Brad Pitt.
- 38:40Speaker 4: They had the F one team there and.
- 38:41Speaker 3: They would have paid these people money. So please remember
- 38:44Speaker 3: that these people are there because they've paid a lot
- 38:47Speaker 3: of money to be there.
- 38:48Speaker 4: It's like, gosh, come on, this thing is just if
- 38:51Speaker 4: you sit the new one next to the old one,
- 38:54Speaker 4: the old one looks terrifying, like it is a scary
- 38:58Speaker 4: V eight monster. This new one it just looks so
- 39:02Speaker 4: sedate and soft. It's fully electric, and it's more. I
- 39:07Speaker 4: have a look at the interior, Like the interior, I
- 39:09Speaker 4: just don't understand. You've got so many cars on the
- 39:12Speaker 4: market now, Like Kienda launched that Alexio recently that has
- 39:15Speaker 4: this enormous screen with no interruptions, so it's like this
- 39:18Speaker 4: big screen. Now, Mercedes has gone for a screen from
- 39:21Speaker 4: left to right, except it's literally just three screens and
- 39:24Speaker 4: you can see all this black space around them. It
- 39:26Speaker 4: just looks so two thousand and six. And I don't know,
- 39:29Speaker 4: it just looks cheap and I know it won't be
- 39:32Speaker 4: They've completely lost their way.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Mercedes.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm looking at now. When are they going to
- 39:37Speaker 3: give up on those stupid air conditioning vents? Such a
- 39:40Speaker 3: Mercedes thing. It looks dumb, those round little stupidly stupid things.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Seets look nice. I like that kind of Elkintara.
- 39:47Speaker 4: This is yet again another car that has insane technology
- 39:50Speaker 4: like that. They have pushed the boundaries on electric cars
- 39:53Speaker 4: in terms of cooling, energy delivery, all that sort of stuff.
- 39:56Speaker 2: But the design is just it is just so weird.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Yeah, we're both looking at it right now. The the
- 40:04Speaker 3: headlights said, I think that was the first thing I
- 40:06Speaker 3: said to you, was those fucking headlights. You know they've
- 40:09Speaker 3: got that the backside to it. How they raise the
- 40:13Speaker 3: spoiler there? You know where else I saw that on?
- 40:17Speaker 3: I saw that on that little I think it's called
- 40:19Speaker 3: MG seven.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yes, yes, they should have.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Just dropped the A in this car. Yeah, your buddies,
- 40:26Speaker 3: Yeah yeah. The starry headlights are stupid everything. Why does
- 40:31Speaker 3: everything have to be illuminated? Now that's another thing. Why
- 40:34Speaker 3: does everything have to be like some sort of tron
- 40:37Speaker 3: looking but real?
- 40:38Speaker 4: Why does it all have to look so stupid that
- 40:40Speaker 4: this is the thing I don't understand at what point
- 40:43Speaker 4: did we go around a corner where cars had to
- 40:45Speaker 4: look dumb.
- 40:46Speaker 2: And not nice?
- 40:46Speaker 3: I think I think the problem they face is aerodynamics,
- 40:50Speaker 3: and they've got to put a cut, like for some reason,
- 40:54Speaker 3: when you get an electric motor and something, everything has
- 40:57Speaker 3: got to be aerodynamic. And so there there clearly trying
- 41:00Speaker 3: to shape lights and grills and all that sort of
- 41:04Speaker 3: stuff around curves and it's a weird. It just kind
- 41:08Speaker 3: of looks clumsy. It just looks a disjointed, doesn't it.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's just a no from me.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Glad we crossed that one off the list. But the
- 41:16Speaker 3: Audi R eight.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Now here is one car that also had the potential
- 41:20Speaker 4: to go sort of viral in negatively for them.
- 41:23Speaker 2: But I actually quite like the look of it.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Again, styling is subjective, yet I think this scene looks
- 41:27Speaker 4: bloody unrealized. Is basically an Audi temorrio.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Audi have brought back the poster car poster a sports car. Actually,
- 41:34Speaker 3: I want to read something I saw on Magnus Walker's insta.
- 41:38Speaker 3: I think he posted about this, and I want to
- 41:39Speaker 3: read his comment because he wrote something very fitting. Magnus Walker,
- 41:44Speaker 3: is you know about this car? Right? Yeah? Massive is
- 41:47Speaker 3: a massive Porsche collector. He just sold about eighteen of
- 41:50Speaker 3: his Porsches. Must be going through financial difficulty, is this
- 41:53Speaker 3: is what he writes, This is what Porsch should be doing.
- 41:55Speaker 3: We need a Halo car. The poster on the wall
- 41:57Speaker 3: car exactly. It's been a long long time since the
- 42:01Speaker 3: nine to one eight came out in twenty thirteen, and
- 42:05Speaker 3: it just can't be fifty seven varieties of a GT three.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Come on, Porsche, give us what we all want, a
- 42:10Speaker 3: new Halo car, something that we can lust, aspire, own, share,
- 42:14Speaker 3: put a poster on the wall and dream about driving.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I think they've done that.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Like that.
- 42:18Speaker 3: That does look great.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it looks good.
- 42:20Speaker 3: It's just different, sort of pixelated whatever I mean. I
- 42:24Speaker 3: think that weird. What is that weird thing on the top?
- 42:27Speaker 3: Is that a vent? Yeah?
- 42:28Speaker 2: It's Yanna yep.
- 42:30Speaker 3: What does that mean? One point on the white board
- 42:34Speaker 3: there for Pavloy. Wow, I bring in the comedy. There's
- 42:37Speaker 3: the episode gaz Yeah, it looks cool. Be interesting to
- 42:41Speaker 3: see how it sounds.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Yeah, look I'm in here. How it's about Lambeau is okay?
- 42:45Speaker 4: It's plug in hybrid. It's just one of the things. Well,
- 42:48Speaker 4: this is not no it's the same engine.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Oh oh is it? Yeah?
- 42:52Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it is.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Oh okay, it's basically the AUDI version of the Lambert
- 42:56Speaker 4: Oh yep, okay.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Well still looks good. Got anything exciting coming up? Anything?
- 43:03Speaker 2: I just took delivery of my Super Duty.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I just says new little super geny. Do
- 43:09Speaker 3: you feel like do you feel like Billy Bob Thornton
- 43:11Speaker 3: from land Man? Do you put your cowboy head on?
- 43:14Speaker 3: Make you put your on?
- 43:16Speaker 2: No pussy bag in this thing. No, because it'll just
- 43:18Speaker 2: slow it down too much.
- 43:21Speaker 3: No.
- 43:21Speaker 4: I had to look through because I remember bitching about
- 43:24Speaker 4: it on the last podcast and no one was responding
- 43:26Speaker 4: to me, and.
- 43:28Speaker 3: That they obviously caught window that I.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Had to look through my emails. I paid a deposit
- 43:32Speaker 4: for this in April twenty twenty five, so I paid
- 43:35Speaker 4: my deposit ages ago, and I was like, what the
- 43:37Speaker 4: fuck's going on here? So finally someone got in touch
- 43:40Speaker 4: and they're like, yep, it's it's actually coming. I'm like,
- 43:43Speaker 4: oh good, And then yeah, took delivery of it last week.
- 43:46Speaker 4: Got traction Green, I got a whole bunch of stuff
- 43:49Speaker 4: planned with it.
- 43:50Speaker 3: What are you going to do to it?
- 43:51Speaker 2: A whole bunch of molds and then I've got a
- 43:53Speaker 2: road trip planned, a.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Family road trip. Ish boies, what does that mean?
- 44:00Speaker 4: You and your brother missus had wanted to come on
- 44:01Speaker 4: this one. So yeah, it's it is so slow and
- 44:06Speaker 4: this is the thing I got out of the Raptor
- 44:09Speaker 4: and all this other stuff have been driving recently and
- 44:12Speaker 4: it is so painfully slow. Yeah, and choose the petrol
- 44:15Speaker 4: to Yeah, I'm really it's going to be a challenge
- 44:18Speaker 4: for me. I don't expect it to be a Ferrari,
- 44:20Speaker 4: but it is. You go to overtake and you need
- 44:23Speaker 4: a massive run up because it just runs out of
- 44:26Speaker 4: path so quickly. So look to do something that can
- 44:29Speaker 4: be removed before the service.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Okay, right, Yeah, it does look pretty cool. It's fucking big. Actually.
- 44:36Speaker 3: I do like the cute little updates that the Ranger
- 44:39Speaker 3: bought out that time. There's little dots on the wheels
- 44:44Speaker 3: that put the yellow the orange highlights on the wheels
- 44:46Speaker 3: and on the on the front bumper. Looks pretty good.
- 44:49Speaker 3: The interior does like. I wish they did a little
- 44:51Speaker 3: bit more, but it does look better. It's a little
- 44:54Speaker 3: less dark. Well, maybe I was looking at the wolf track,
- 44:57Speaker 3: which is basically the new XF T XLT.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah, I don't know. I think it is a
- 45:03Speaker 2: little bit half asked.
- 45:05Speaker 4: The car's been out for ages now and just nothing
- 45:09Speaker 4: has changed on it, which is really quite surprising.
- 45:12Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't know, a bit of a weird one.
- 45:13Speaker 4: So we're curious to see how that goes for them,
- 45:16Speaker 4: because it doesn't need to be completely different, but I
- 45:19Speaker 4: would have thought you'd be looking to make a few
- 45:22Speaker 4: more changes to keep it relevant.
- 45:25Speaker 3: They did a good intro deal on that wolf track.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I think it was seventy two drive away. Okay, it
- 45:29Speaker 3: looks good, like I had a look at it. I
- 45:32Speaker 3: was sort of considering it. I think I texted you
- 45:33Speaker 3: about it. Yeah, just the inside they cut a few corners,
- 45:37Speaker 3: like it's that middle console is now just solid plastic.
- 45:40Speaker 3: There's no cushion into it whatsoever, which is fucking annoying.
- 45:43Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I reckon, if they just something is
- 45:45Speaker 3: simple like that. I'm putting my arm on that thing
- 45:47Speaker 3: every day and it's just like classic forward.
- 45:50Speaker 4: As a model gets older, they slowly decontented without anyone knowing.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 45:57Speaker 4: So at the end of the last generation of Ranger,
- 45:59Speaker 4: they had remove moved stuff like the active noise cancelation.
- 46:04Speaker 4: The other stuff that's disappeared as like cup holders in
- 46:07Speaker 4: front of their events. They don't do those anymore. Well
- 46:10Speaker 4: they depending on the spec. They've just started removing them
- 46:13Speaker 4: from specs. It's just very weird to just penny pinch. Yeah,
- 46:16Speaker 4: it's like, no, thanks, why did.
- 46:18Speaker 3: You do that? All right, let's get to some questions
- 46:23Speaker 3: from the people. Why are or media not saying anything
- 46:27Speaker 3: bad about the ev ferrari Um. Well, it's an interesting point.
- 46:31Speaker 3: I think what they're doing is like that launch that
- 46:33Speaker 3: you went to. You obviously can't stand there in front
- 46:36Speaker 3: of Ferrari h you can.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I could easily stand there and go this is the
- 46:39Speaker 2: ugliest thing I've ever seen.
- 46:40Speaker 4: I personally don't care if I if they took a
- 46:43Speaker 4: fence to that, which they wouldn't, if they took offense
- 46:46Speaker 4: to that and never invited me to an event again,
- 46:48Speaker 4: I honestly wouldn't care. Ferrari doesn't pay my bills. It's
- 46:53Speaker 4: it's an inconvenience for me to go to some event
- 46:55Speaker 4: like that because you're away for a few days from
- 46:57Speaker 4: the family, which I'm doing constantly.
- 46:59Speaker 2: That's not an issue. It is that styling is subjective.
- 47:02Speaker 4: I'm not one to stand there and tell you that
- 47:03Speaker 4: it's ugly as fuck because no one cares what I think.
- 47:06Speaker 4: I'm there to tell you all the details about the car.
- 47:09Speaker 4: People like that, who go why does the MOODI and
- 47:11Speaker 4: not do this? It's like, mate, what do you want
- 47:13Speaker 4: us to do?
- 47:14Speaker 2: Why would I stand there and say it's ugly and
- 47:16Speaker 2: it's shit. I haven't driven it. I'm just going to
- 47:18Speaker 2: run you through all the stuff that I do know,
- 47:20Speaker 2: which I've learned.
- 47:20Speaker 3: In the fact. That's one of the first things you
- 47:22Speaker 3: did say was this styling is is going to divide people,
- 47:27Speaker 3: and it's subjective, and that's people will like it.
- 47:31Speaker 2: It's like, just because you don't like it doesn't mean
- 47:33Speaker 2: that others. You know, who cares what you think? Who
- 47:36Speaker 2: cares what I think?
- 47:36Speaker 4: It's the people that want to buy it, and that's
- 47:38Speaker 4: why they're watching it. So that line of commentary I
- 47:41Speaker 4: just thought was so shit that you're targeting the people
- 47:43Speaker 4: that are there. You're going to have some people who
- 47:45Speaker 4: are influencers who don't want to say anything negative.
- 47:47Speaker 2: They may have been paid to be there.
- 47:48Speaker 4: I definitely wasn't paid to be there, and I get
- 47:52Speaker 4: why they might not want to say something, but for
- 47:53Speaker 4: the majority of media, they honestly don't give a shit
- 47:56Speaker 4: what it looks like because it's irrelevant.
- 47:58Speaker 2: It's got nothing to do with us.
- 48:00Speaker 3: All right, Next question, what's better between the last generation
- 48:03Speaker 3: Falcon versus Commodore, Barrow or V eight sere you go? Well,
- 48:11Speaker 3: for me, the Falcon stopped at the XR six. I
- 48:15Speaker 3: like that car.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, look for me last generation. I loved the
- 48:21Speaker 2: V eight hold them.
- 48:23Speaker 4: The SSV Redline I thought was just a manual, perfect
- 48:27Speaker 4: way to finish at the W one was I think
- 48:29Speaker 4: the pinnacle of Australian cars. But the Barrew six cylinder
- 48:34Speaker 4: XR six turbo F six three ten, they were all
- 48:37Speaker 4: absolutely unreal and I'm actively looking for an F six
- 48:40Speaker 4: because they, on the other hand, weren't all that great
- 48:43Speaker 4: in the manual. In my opinion, the z F six
- 48:45Speaker 4: speed was unreal. I'd love to track down an F
- 48:48Speaker 4: six and I had the chance to buy one maybe
- 48:51Speaker 4: five years ago that had twenty thousand k's on the cloth.
- 48:54Speaker 2: But yeah, I wish I had have done that. But anyway, I.
- 48:57Speaker 4: Think it depends what you're after, But I think the
- 49:00Speaker 4: sixth Turbo was unreal, and so was the last generation
- 49:04Speaker 4: of the LS three in the LS nine in Holden.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Yeah they still look good. Oh yeah, well this is
- 49:11Speaker 3: still look great.
- 49:12Speaker 4: This is the funny thing I see, like an XR
- 49:14Speaker 4: six Sprint or a GTSR PTSV. These cars are now
- 49:19Speaker 4: almost ten years old.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Yeah, more for that four twenty seventeen. Yeah, and it's
- 49:23Speaker 2: like they still look unreal.
- 49:24Speaker 3: They still look great.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Isn't it crazy? I design just stopped being good around
- 49:28Speaker 2: that point in time.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, crazy. Why hasn't Paul been uploading more videos
- 49:33Speaker 3: on car experts? He's a busy boy. How many fucking
- 49:37Speaker 3: videos do you want?
- 49:39Speaker 2: Fucking people are hard to please, aren't they.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Oh this is a good one.
- 49:42Speaker 2: I'd like to see my family every now and then.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Do you though? Well, God, Gordy is sexy?
- 49:50Speaker 2: How is that true? Where is it? Oh? Steph Coombs?
- 49:53Speaker 3: Interesting? Well, story checks out because can't be choosers, mate.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Oh he's a good one from obi Mobi. His name's
- 50:04Speaker 3: just Obie Obie in a whole bunch of different numbers.
- 50:07Speaker 3: This was questions right, and he's just written Donna and
- 50:09Speaker 3: her flaps of gold kill common sense, logic and respect
- 50:16Speaker 3: should return to four wheel drive, to the four wheel
- 50:18Speaker 3: drive scene, way too many entitled knobs.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Look, I I'm on board with that. If you go
- 50:27Speaker 4: it's so interesting, you go out to the bush, people
- 50:30Speaker 4: just do whatever the fuck they want. And I completely
- 50:33Speaker 4: agree with that that just a little bit of respect
- 50:36Speaker 4: goes a long way. If you're at camping somewhere, don't
- 50:38Speaker 4: bring your entire festival hall worth of speakers to go
- 50:43Speaker 4: blust your shit music in front of everyone.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Oh okay, so I'm not really in the scenes.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I don't really neither am I.
- 50:47Speaker 4: But I just don't like going places during busy periods
- 50:50Speaker 4: because you know you're going to be lined up next
- 50:52Speaker 4: to a whole bunch of fuck withs that you're gonna
- 50:54Speaker 4: have to deal with, who will get shit faced and
- 50:56Speaker 4: make life hard for everyone.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that needs to stop. He's a good
- 51:00Speaker 3: question to finish on. What car is coming to os
- 51:03Speaker 3: soon that you're most excited about? For me, I think
- 51:07Speaker 3: that new X three, the new design language coming out
- 51:10Speaker 3: of BAH, coming out of BMW, looks pretty fascinating.
- 51:13Speaker 4: You know what I drove as its turning into a
- 51:16Speaker 4: China fest. The ICAR V twenty three and the V
- 51:19Speaker 4: twenty seven in China.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Oh, that will be cool. That's coming to Australia.
- 51:23Speaker 4: So the icar Ica, Yeah, actually the iCore because they
- 51:28Speaker 4: called it the ICR but realized that Apple was going
- 51:30Speaker 4: to sue the shit out of them, so they changed
- 51:33Speaker 4: it to I car c A.
- 51:35Speaker 2: You are, So I'll show you what it looks like.
- 51:39Speaker 3: C au are really. Yeah, so this is the yeah yeah, yeah,
- 51:44Speaker 3: I haven't not look at it here jesuits.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the V twenty three. So that's the electric one.
- 51:51Speaker 2: The V twenty seven is a plug in hybrid and.
- 51:53Speaker 3: These are coming to OZ. Yeah.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Wow, so I'm excited for that. I think that'll be
- 51:56Speaker 2: pretty cool.
- 51:57Speaker 3: I really want to see in the flesh. It is
- 52:00Speaker 3: here in Melbourne and it's probably been out for a
- 52:02Speaker 3: little bit, but I want to see that new Testa Rossa.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Actually I drove one of those in Rome briefly as well.
- 52:07Speaker 4: It is unbelievably fast.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Yeah, looks good too, Yeah it is.
- 52:11Speaker 4: It is something else. But yeah, that they that that
- 52:15Speaker 4: was another one that everyone jumped up and down about
- 52:17Speaker 4: with the design. But when you see it in person,
- 52:19Speaker 4: it is a stunning it's.
- 52:20Speaker 3: A beautiful looking. So yeah, that's that's mine. Contact at
