- 0:00Speaker 1: The mark Simoniell on sevent tenor well, hey, we'll get
- 0:06Speaker 1: to Dick Cheney, who passed away. We learned this morning.
- 0:10Speaker 1: We'll get to that in a moment. We'll get to
- 0:13Speaker 1: a lot more coming up now, don't forget get out
- 0:15Speaker 1: and vote today. The polls are open un till nine
- 0:18Speaker 1: o'clock in New York. Make sure you get out and vote.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Here in New York City, turnout is headed to all
- 0:25Speaker 1: time record at three hundred thousand people have voted already,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and this is early, so it'll go over a million
- 0:32Speaker 1: today most likely, and then the total will be over
- 0:35Speaker 1: two million, which is huge, could be even more. We
- 0:39Speaker 1: don't know. The weather is good today, there'll be heavy
- 0:41Speaker 1: turnout at the polls. Make sure you get out and vote. Obviously,
- 0:46Speaker 1: you don't want Mom Donnie to win. The other thing
- 0:48Speaker 1: is you got all the city council seats are up.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You can change the entire city council. This is very important.
- 0:55Speaker 1: The city council actually very often has more power than
- 0:58Speaker 1: the mayor. So if you want to protect against Mom,
- 1:00Speaker 1: throw out all the left wing cooks and the city council.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Replace them with the conservative reasonable people. And same thing
- 1:10Speaker 1: with district attorneys. You can get rid of Alvin Bragg today.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Vote for Maud Marin, very good Republican candidates. She'll put
- 1:18Speaker 1: people in jail unlike Unlike Alvin Bragg. Also make sure
- 1:24Speaker 1: Westchester County vote for the Republican, a better choice for you.
- 1:27Speaker 1: The same thing. Long Island obviously, vote for Bruce Blakemhan.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He's the best county executive in America. Connecticut, they don't
- 1:35Speaker 1: have county executives. They got mayors. Our closest suburb is Greenwich.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Vote for Fred Camillo, He's an excellent mayor. New Jersey
- 1:44Speaker 1: obviously you want Jack Chitdarelli, not Mikey Cheryl. And you
- 1:50Speaker 1: got races around the country, and again here in New
- 1:54Speaker 1: York City. You can't predict anything. These polls are kind
- 1:58Speaker 1: of meaningless. They're just little junkie polling companies that aren't
- 2:02Speaker 1: very good. And there'd been no serious polls by any
- 2:05Speaker 1: major polling company in the whole mayor oal race, so
- 2:09Speaker 1: we don't really know anything. And turnout is so huge
- 2:14Speaker 1: it's way beyond the model any of the polling companies used,
- 2:18Speaker 1: So anything could happen today. Get out there and vote.
- 2:21Speaker 1: You're supposed to traditionally go to a sporting event if
- 2:24Speaker 1: you're a candidate before the election. Cuomo was seen at
- 2:27Speaker 1: the next game. You remember sitting in those front row seats,
- 2:29Speaker 1: which are like ten thousand a ticket. So Mom Donnie
- 2:33Speaker 1: went to see a game. Mom Donnie went to see
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Knicks, but he made sure to sit way up
- 2:39Speaker 1: in the back of the balcony of the bleachers. He
- 2:42Speaker 1: sat in the cheapest seats he could find. Oh, it's
- 2:45Speaker 1: a Knicks game. How much of those cheap seats eight
- 2:47Speaker 1: hundred dollars a seat? Yeah, those Cuomo seats are actually
- 2:53Speaker 1: ten thousand dollars seats. Let me say, I can't find
- 2:55Speaker 1: the price for the Mam Donnie seats, but FORGI there
- 2:58Speaker 1: are about eight hundred. It's not though what you call
- 3:02Speaker 1: your affordability there. But okay, okay, wait, Actually, on the
- 3:06Speaker 1: secondary market, two hundred dollars, you can get a two
- 3:08Speaker 1: hundred dollars seat. That's a lot to sit in the
- 3:13Speaker 1: very very very back. We'll get back to the mayoral race.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Let's just get to Dick Cheney for a second. Dick
- 3:19Speaker 1: Cheney's in a This is an interesting case. Dick Cheney
- 3:25Speaker 1: had a long career in politics, He was Gerald Ford's
- 3:27Speaker 1: chief of staff. He did everything you could do in government.
- 3:31Speaker 1: He was a Secretary of Defense, he was a vice
- 3:33Speaker 1: president something. He was exactly president for a while there,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and he was a very hated guy. During the Bush years,
- 3:43Speaker 1: they hated Bush. There was that's where the term first
- 3:46Speaker 1: came from. They called it Bush derangement syndrome. That was
- 3:49Speaker 1: used a lot in the early two thousands, Bush derangement syndrome.
- 3:52Speaker 1: But it was Cheney they hated the most. They called
- 3:54Speaker 1: him Darth Vader. They hated this Cheney so much. And
- 3:58Speaker 1: when he was vice president, they made up a whole
- 4:00Speaker 1: fake scandal, the Halliburton scandal. Cheney at one time had
- 4:04Speaker 1: been the chairman, the CEO of Halliburton. In between government shops,
- 4:08Speaker 1: he went to work for them because he was a
- 4:10Speaker 1: Secretary of Defense. That's usually who they hire over there.
- 4:13Speaker 1: But he had nothing to do with Halliburton getting any contracts.
- 4:16Speaker 1: They made it look like he got his old company
- 4:19Speaker 1: all these contracts with the Bush administration, Halliburton contracts in Iraq.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Halliburton had all the contracts. This was total fake news.
- 4:29Speaker 1: They even launched fake hearings. What was that guy Henry
- 4:31Speaker 1: Waxman you remember him with the mustache, looked like one
- 4:34Speaker 1: of those silent movie villains. And they held hearings on
- 4:37Speaker 1: how did how that hell did Halliburton get these contracts
- 4:40Speaker 1: and was Cheney profiting off this and Halliburton his old company,
- 4:43Speaker 1: gain in the contracts, And then media covered this in MSNBS.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It was a big scandal. They never once explained to
- 4:50Speaker 1: you that the Bush administration inherited these contracts. The Clinton
- 4:55Speaker 1: administration had the same exact contracts with Aliburton every administration.
- 4:59Speaker 1: The reason is nobody else can do the work. It's
- 5:01Speaker 1: the only company you can use, Halliburton. But they made
- 5:05Speaker 1: up this whole fake scandal even sixty minutes once did
- 5:09Speaker 1: the piece about it. Well, other people can cap the
- 5:11Speaker 1: oil wells in Iraq, And they interviewed oil well companies,
- 5:15Speaker 1: do you know how to cap? And oh, yes, of
- 5:16Speaker 1: course we could. Now they never explained it. This is
- 5:19Speaker 1: sixty minutes totally conning you. They never explained to you. Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 1: other companies can do that, but they can't do it
- 5:24Speaker 1: in a war zone. You have to have special equipment, facilities,
- 5:27Speaker 1: special insurance, all kinds of special training to operate in
- 5:31Speaker 1: a war zone. Only Haliburton had that. That's how they
- 5:34Speaker 1: had the contracts. And then they did another fake thing.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It was no bid contracts. You heard that all the
- 5:41Speaker 1: time Cheney got these Halliburton these no bid contracts. Well
- 5:44Speaker 1: they were always bid. Every contract was bid. They just
- 5:48Speaker 1: didn't bid individual jobs because and think about this, You're
- 5:52Speaker 1: in the middle of a war and all of a
- 5:53Speaker 1: sudden they blow up the oil field. Well, you can't
- 5:56Speaker 1: go start a two month bidding process to put out
- 5:58Speaker 1: the fire. You got to have somebody ready to go.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So it was actually al Gore that came up with
- 6:03Speaker 1: this system, was called the log cap system. They would
- 6:06Speaker 1: bid in a contractor for a two year period. If
- 6:08Speaker 1: you were the winning bid, you had all the contracts
- 6:11Speaker 1: for two years. That way, emergency happened, you could go
- 6:14Speaker 1: right in. Al Gore came up with that. So Haliburton
- 6:19Speaker 1: always always won the bidding for the log cap contracts.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Only one time did they lose. They actually lost the
- 6:26Speaker 1: bidding once. It was during the Clinton administration, and Clinton
- 6:29Speaker 1: stepped in and overruled the bidding and handed it back
- 6:31Speaker 1: to Halliburton only because they were the most qualified company.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Couldn't take a chance operating in a war zone with
- 6:37Speaker 1: a new company that didn't know what they were doing,
- 6:38Speaker 1: so they made up this whole fake scandal. They demonized
- 6:41Speaker 1: Cheney and he did some things he could say, we're
- 6:44Speaker 1: bad things. The waterboarding, torture, Abu Gharab of prison, remember
- 6:50Speaker 1: all that. Again, it's a complicated situation here to defend Chaney.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I talked to him about it a few times. And
- 6:57Speaker 1: what he'll tell you, especially after you got out, it's
- 7:01Speaker 1: right after nine to eleven. He looked at everything we had,
- 7:05Speaker 1: all the intelligence, all the stuff that was they were learning,
- 7:09Speaker 1: and if you looked at it, it was absolutely frightening.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Remember there were dirty bombs and all kinds of threats.
- 7:16Speaker 1: He was really afraid for America. Stuff that would make
- 7:20Speaker 1: nine to eleven look like nothing. So he was terrified
- 7:23Speaker 1: of that, and that's why he decided do anything and
- 7:25Speaker 1: everything to make sure that never happened again. So that's
- 7:28Speaker 1: what that was all about. Now, he was a hated,
- 7:30Speaker 1: hated figure. They hated this guy, the media, the left,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and to me, they hated this guy. And then Donald
- 7:38Speaker 1: Trump comes along and Cheney starts saying terrible things about Trump.
- 7:44Speaker 1: All of a sudden, they like Cheney. Cheney's a hero
- 7:46Speaker 1: Cheney's a wonderful guy. Same thing with Liz Cheney. I
- 7:50Speaker 1: remember Liz Cheney was on the January sixth committee. It
- 7:55Speaker 1: was Liz Cheney and Dick Cheney. Remember Dick Cheney did
- 7:57Speaker 1: a commercial Gotta stop Donald Trump, He's the worst threat
- 8:02Speaker 1: to America. And Liz Cheney was tearing into Trump. She
- 8:04Speaker 1: was on the January sixthe these two went after Trump.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Suddenly there were great American heroes the chese. So it's
- 8:13Speaker 1: just you can flip up these Democrats. They're just knee
- 8:16Speaker 1: jerk anything. With Trump. You can just knee jerk them
- 8:18Speaker 1: into whatever direction you want. So Cheney died at the
- 8:21Speaker 1: age of eighty four. He's a guy who had heart
- 8:24Speaker 1: trouble all his life, lifetime of heart attacks and all
- 8:27Speaker 1: kinds of trouble and died at eighty four. So there'll
- 8:31Speaker 1: be a funeral. Now the question is who will go
- 8:34Speaker 1: to the funeral, Who will speak at the funeral. Obviously
- 8:37Speaker 1: George W. Bush will speak, He'll be there. A lot
- 8:42Speaker 1: of the people from the Cheney era no longer with us.
- 8:44Speaker 1: They're no longer alive. Colin Powell and Rumsfeld, they're no
- 8:47Speaker 1: longer with us. So Conda Lisa Rice. I assume we'll
- 8:51Speaker 1: be there to speak. I don't know, well, vice presidents
- 8:57Speaker 1: will probably go, Al Gore and Quail, all the former
- 9:01Speaker 1: vice presidents will go. He was a vice president. I
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't know if Jade Vans will go. I don't think
- 9:05Speaker 1: Trump will go, and I don't think they'd want Trump
- 9:07Speaker 1: at the funeral. So we'll see. Hey, a lot of
- 9:11Speaker 1: people are saying the shutdown is going to end, that
- 9:14Speaker 1: the Democrats were keeping the shutdown going. You know, every
- 9:17Speaker 1: day they could have ended the shutdown. Just vote in
- 9:20Speaker 1: the extension. You vote in a seven week extension. It
- 9:23Speaker 1: gives you time to negotiate every day. The Democrats have
- 9:27Speaker 1: voted it down. Now some people think they were doing
- 9:30Speaker 1: that for the election. They thought somehow the shutdown might
- 9:33Speaker 1: help them in the elections which are taking place all
- 9:35Speaker 1: over the country. So when it's over tomorrow, you may
- 9:38Speaker 1: see him actually end the shutdown. So make sure you
- 9:42Speaker 1: get out and vote today. Very very very important in
- 9:45Speaker 1: New Jersey, New York. These are very close races, impossible
- 9:50Speaker 1: to predict. In New Jersey. They got bomb threats at
- 9:53Speaker 1: a lot of the polling places today, so things were
- 9:58Speaker 1: delayed for a while. Checked all that out but pulls
- 10:02Speaker 1: her up until nine o'clock in New York. I don't
- 10:04Speaker 1: know what will happen. It's because it could be a
- 10:05Speaker 1: very close race, closer than Enby thought. So I don't
- 10:08Speaker 1: know how quickly we'll get the results today nine o'clock. Now,
- 10:12Speaker 1: Zorain Mamdani was on Morning Joe this morning, sitting next
- 10:16Speaker 1: to his close buddy Al Sharpton. There were the two
- 10:19Speaker 1: of them there. Uh, it wasn't a good look. Morning
- 10:22Speaker 1: Joe on one side and Al Sharpton on the other side.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Trump has endorsed Cuomo big endorsement last night. Now, I
- 10:29Speaker 1: don't know if that helps or hurts Cuomo. It could
- 10:32Speaker 1: hurt him with Democrats, who you know, whatever Trump does,
- 10:35Speaker 1: they have to do the opposite. So who knows. It
- 10:40Speaker 1: might it might slow down some of his Democratic voting. Uh,
- 10:44Speaker 1: here's Cuomo.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I agree, A vote for Curtis Slua is a vote
- 10:48Speaker 2: for Mam Donnie. Curtis Slua is not a viable candidate.
- 10:52Speaker 2: He cannot win. He is in the race as a
- 10:55Speaker 2: spoiler only.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but you can remember he is a major already candidate.
- 11:00Speaker 1: It's Cuomo that's a third party candidate. So you could actually,
- 11:03Speaker 1: technically Cuomo is the spoiler in this, he said, And
- 11:08Speaker 1: they're talking about President Trump.
- 11:09Speaker 3: He said, he said, I'd rather have a bad Democrat
- 11:14Speaker 3: than a communist. That's what he said. He caught me
- 11:17Speaker 3: a bad Democrat. First of all, I happen to be
- 11:20Speaker 3: a good Democrat and a proud Democrat, and I'm going
- 11:24Speaker 3: to stay a proud Democrat. Mundami is not a communist.
- 11:30Speaker 1: He's a socialist.
- 11:32Speaker 3: But we don't need a socialist mayor.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Clomo is a Democrat and he's running
- 11:37Speaker 1: as an independent. He's not the Democrat in the race here,
- 11:40Speaker 1: but he has been a Democrat all I don't know
- 11:41Speaker 1: if you call him a good democrat. I mean, did
- 11:44Speaker 1: terrible things. This governor had to resign in disgrace. I
- 11:46Speaker 1: don't know if you call it a good democrat.
- 11:48Speaker 3: We need a mayor who can stand up to Donald Trump,
- 11:52Speaker 3: who can get the funding that New York deserves, who
- 11:55Speaker 3: can make sure the National Guard does not come to
- 11:58Speaker 3: New York.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Yes, this is the problem with Cuomo. I remember when
- 12:02Speaker 1: he was a governor. He was crazy with a lot
- 12:06Speaker 1: of things. He wanted to ban ice, he wanted to
- 12:08Speaker 1: sue them. Remember at one time he was going to
- 12:10Speaker 1: ban the vaccine from New York because it was created
- 12:13Speaker 1: by Trump. Remember, he wouldn't use the hospital chips. He
- 12:15Speaker 1: was just he gets really crazy when he's in office.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Here's Mom Donnie last night.
- 12:20Speaker 4: In these final days, what was rumored, what was feared,
- 12:23Speaker 4: has become naked and unabashed. The MAGA movements embrace of
- 12:27Speaker 4: Andrew Cuomo is reflective of Donald Trump's understanding that this
- 12:33Speaker 4: would be the best mayor for him.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yes, so you never know that trump endorsement might stop
- 12:39Speaker 1: some Democrats who were going to vote for Trump. They're
- 12:43Speaker 1: just so anti Trump. If Trump tells them to vote
- 12:45Speaker 1: for Cuomo, it might be enough to stop them. They're
- 12:48Speaker 1: that angry about it.
- 12:49Speaker 4: We know, and have known for months that Donald Trump
- 12:54Speaker 4: would favor Andrew Cuomo as the mayor. They share the
- 12:57Speaker 4: same donors, they share the same small vision, they share
- 13:02Speaker 4: the same sense of impunity.
- 13:04Speaker 1: All Right, Mam Donnie was kind of embarrassing could not
- 13:08Speaker 1: get the Obama endorsement, and his staff put out a
- 13:12Speaker 1: whole fake statement about, well, the Obama's policy is not
- 13:17Speaker 1: to endorse in local mayoral races. Well, people quickly pointed
- 13:20Speaker 1: out he endorsed like twenty seven mayors in different races
- 13:23Speaker 1: around the country. He endorsed Deblasio and Deblasio and twice.
- 13:28Speaker 1: So here's asked about the Obama lack of endorsement, refusal
- 13:33Speaker 1: to endorse.
- 13:34Speaker 4: I also shared with him that yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 1: He did he say, he said, well, I talked to him.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I talked him on the phone. He's been guiding me.
- 13:39Speaker 4: I also shared with him that it was his speech
- 13:43Speaker 4: of a more perfect union all those years ago that
- 13:48Speaker 4: was in part the inspiration for the speech that I
- 13:50Speaker 4: shared outside of the mosque not too many fridays ago,
- 13:54Speaker 4: an opportunity to rise above the twenty four hour news
- 13:57Speaker 4: cycle that is typical in our politics and speak to
- 14:00Speaker 4: the soul of the city and the people of the city.
- 14:03Speaker 1: There are similarities Mom Donnie and Obama in that they
- 14:06Speaker 1: both got elected without much of a resume. They had
- 14:10Speaker 1: no resume. They were both briefly in the legislature. Mom
- 14:15Speaker 1: Donnie briefly in the Assembly and all but the Obama
- 14:18Speaker 1: had been an actual senator, but he only served one
- 14:20Speaker 1: hundred and forty four days in the Senate, not much,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and he again no voting record, know anything, And like
- 14:26Speaker 1: Mam Donnie before his legislative career, didn't really have a job,
- 14:31Speaker 1: never really did anything, never had anything on his resume.
- 14:34Speaker 1: So but they both were similar, and they were good looking, smooth,
- 14:40Speaker 1: great smile, great speakers. They could talk fast and sound
- 14:43Speaker 1: very articulate when they were up there, and they could
- 14:45Speaker 1: sound very smart because they talk so fast it sounded brilliant.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But no management skills at all. So the difference is
- 14:52Speaker 1: Obama was not a crazy left wing Okay, well crazy
- 14:56Speaker 1: left wing. He was not a communist socialist. But anyway,
- 15:00Speaker 1: we'll take some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three
- 15:03Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred
- 15:06Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten
