- 0:14Speaker 2: a hot dog on your pants at the movies, do
- 0:16Speaker 2: they have to pay to buy you new pants?
- 0:19Speaker 1: Judge Ross is gonna give some dating advice.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And if you pay for your son's Dan school and
- 0:25Speaker 2: other silly things and he doesn't do anything with it,
- 0:29Speaker 2: can you get your money back? Judge Jerry's gonna tell
- 0:31Speaker 2: us real people cases.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Thank just hello. Hopefully that was good for some people.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's going to be back here in the chambers of
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yo Gabble Gavel, two great cases. If it's your first time,
- 0:49Speaker 2: thanks for joining us over here on the gavel. Oh,
- 0:52Speaker 2: I don't know cool over here on the gavel. I'm thrilled.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I'm thrilled. It's it just feels it feels right, feels right.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, what's the show? What is it? What's the show? Yeah,
- 1:04Speaker 1: people don't know the show. I believe it or not.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Dan.
- 1:07Speaker 1: People find new podcasts.
- 1:08Speaker 2: All listen to episode one like whatever if it's not
- 1:11Speaker 2: a if it's not a serialized podcast, I usually start
- 1:14Speaker 2: with the newest because it's usually better than the.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Beginning first pod.
- 1:17Speaker 2: If your first gavel then Brandon, I love I'm the
- 1:20Speaker 2: only person that does that. If it's not a serialized podcast,
- 1:24Speaker 2: is telling a story. I start with, I assume it's
- 1:27Speaker 2: way better now than it was.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I bet people are with you. People are with you, Brandon.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I love some TV court. We just do. We love it.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And we both watch a case the other doesn't watch
- 1:39Speaker 2: the one that we watch, and then we exchange story
- 1:42Speaker 2: about our cases, and then we guess what happens in
- 1:46Speaker 2: the verdict and we have a lot of fun doing it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: We sure do's right. I went to Judge Jerry today
- 1:51Speaker 2: and it's a little bit of the dinker of a case.
- 1:53Speaker 2: So go ahead to get this out of the way.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And then yours sounds sounds real good.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It's a fun time. Yeah. Uh.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Jada shim TV Jada Shimtav shim Shim TV is shim
- 2:06Speaker 2: Tov one word, It's two different words, okay.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Jada shim Tov.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Is suing her son aj for three thousand, one hundred
- 2:14Speaker 2: and forty dollars for the cost of some classes that
- 2:19Speaker 2: she paid for and for the return.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Of a car.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Although the money that number has nothing to do with
- 2:27Speaker 2: the car. She's just asking for the car to get returned.
- 2:30Speaker 2: She wants the return of the car and then she
- 2:31Speaker 2: wants the money. That's exactly got it. Aj is obviously
- 2:36Speaker 2: her son. He is eighteen years old, maybe nineteen now,
- 2:41Speaker 2: and uh, he comes in dancing. He comes into the courtroom,
- 2:45Speaker 2: he walks down, he pops in lot.
- 2:47Speaker 1: There's music going. Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I've never seen a dance routine of this style. I
- 2:54Speaker 2: don't even know really how to describe it. It is
- 2:57Speaker 2: confusing because there is like, uh, like drums that are
- 3:04Speaker 2: you would hear in like mowanna, and but it's.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Not like it's not like that. It's like I don't
- 3:10Speaker 1: even know. It's not like that. It's not like.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, what's the type of dance that
- 3:18Speaker 2: you they do with like a lot with the drums,
- 3:21Speaker 2: and it's like this and they do it in fast
- 3:25Speaker 2: before the people.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Come mo, what is it? Pump pump you know what
- 3:33Speaker 1: I'm talking about?
- 3:34Speaker 2: No, where the right, it's the rock and all this
- 3:37Speaker 2: family and it's like a Samoan dance.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And he was looking for a country. That's what he's
- 3:43Speaker 1: looking for. No, I like that though.
- 3:46Speaker 2: That looks great you they I think that's what he's
- 3:50Speaker 2: going for. But he's also kind of break dancing in
- 3:53Speaker 2: the process. I don't know, there's a lot of spin
- 3:55Speaker 2: on it. He's putting his own spin on that's right.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So Jada says that at eighteen years old, a j
- 3:59Speaker 2: came up to her and says, I want to be
- 4:01Speaker 2: a model. It's at this point that Jerry is unnecessarily
- 4:06Speaker 2: savage and says, do you.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Want to be a model? On the radio? Wow, I
- 4:11Speaker 1: don't know.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Everyone laughs and he's like, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm
- 4:16Speaker 2: just messing. We're having fun here, having fun. We're having fun.
- 4:19Speaker 2: That's exactly right. So she says, I pay for the
- 4:25Speaker 2: model classes. Then a few months later he's like, I
- 4:28Speaker 2: don't want to do that anymore. I want to be
- 4:30Speaker 2: a model, and so I'm sorry, I want to be
- 4:32Speaker 2: a dancer. And so he starts taking these dance classes,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and then after two years he tells me that he's
- 4:36Speaker 2: going to go to the army.
- 4:38Speaker 1: So I wasted all of my time and all of
- 4:40Speaker 1: my money on.
- 4:41Speaker 2: This kid trying to figure this out and do all
- 4:44Speaker 2: of these different things when he could have just gone
- 4:46Speaker 2: to the army if that's something that he wanted to do.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And so also during this time, I loaned in my car.
- 4:53Speaker 2: He's driving it round trip three hours, three days a week,
- 4:58Speaker 2: and now my car is just a wreck. There's a
- 5:00Speaker 2: it's a mess. I've had to do some work to it.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It's just not it's not like I didn't agree to this. Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 2: you know, when we signed up, I was hoping that,
- 5:09Speaker 2: you know, I want to help my son to find
- 5:12Speaker 2: something that he loves. But it's cost me a lot
- 5:14Speaker 2: of money and ultimately he doesn't want to do any
- 5:16Speaker 2: of that stuff.
- 5:16Speaker 1: She didn't have a contract with him or anything. No, no, no,
- 5:19Speaker 1: that'd be too easy. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 2: So Aj says, listen, the car's mine now. She gave
- 5:24Speaker 2: it to me, and Jay says, it's your name on it,
- 5:26Speaker 2: and he's like, no, but I paid it off. Apparently
- 5:29Speaker 2: he took over car payments. But the title, but the
- 5:32Speaker 2: title is still in her name.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Car off, you get a title, the title is says
- 5:35Speaker 1: her name.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Her name, all right, the car is in her name.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And she's like, no, that's just we agreed when he
- 5:42Speaker 2: was doing this. Hey, you can borrow the car, but
- 5:44Speaker 2: you're gonna have to start making payments. So Jerry is like, listen,
- 5:50Speaker 2: a lot of eighteen nineteen twenty year olds. They don't
- 5:52Speaker 2: know what they want to do in their life, and
- 5:54Speaker 2: so this is kind of that's what he's doing. He's
- 5:56Speaker 2: trying to figure out what he wants to do in
- 5:58Speaker 2: his life. It's not it's not crazy.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You're not.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Your son's not the only kid that's hopped around from
- 6:03Speaker 2: thing to thing trying to find a thing that that
- 6:05Speaker 2: is his passion. And she's like, well, listen, I'm a
- 6:07Speaker 2: single parent of three. I try to support my children
- 6:10Speaker 2: the best that I can. But I feel like I've
- 6:12Speaker 2: been taken advantage of now. AJ is like, listen, I've
- 6:15Speaker 2: always I've always been the favorite child. I'll say it
- 6:18Speaker 2: right now. I've always been a favorite child. And I
- 6:20Speaker 2: understand that she's upsetting me right now, but this is ridiculous.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm I was she she agreed to pay for my classes.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, she's just doing what a mom would do. She's
- 6:29Speaker 1: doing what mom would do. It's not like he's twenty eight,
- 6:31Speaker 1: he's eighteen. He's eighteen. Well, I guess now he's twenty. Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: when when he.
- 6:36Speaker 2: First started, when he was an adult, that actually is
- 6:38Speaker 2: kind of important. Yeah, so you're starting when he's eighteen
- 6:41Speaker 2: and now he's twenty. Now he's twenty, yes, joining the army.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Joining she wants him to pay up because he's joining
- 6:47Speaker 2: our arm service. That's exactly right, which she does speak up.
- 6:50Speaker 2: She it is funny true when when she says that,
- 6:53Speaker 2: she's like, now, two years later, he's joining the army,
- 6:57Speaker 2: and Jerry's like, I mean that's good, right, and she's like, listen,
- 7:00Speaker 2: I served in the military too.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:03Speaker 2: She's just mad that he did all of these things,
- 7:06Speaker 2: and that was like, I don't want to do any
- 7:08Speaker 2: of it.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I just want to join army.
- 7:10Speaker 2: And he's like, obviously I'm not the favorite right now,
- 7:13Speaker 2: but I will be once I joined the army. Okay, great,
- 7:16Speaker 2: you can't. You can't top out our army. She did
- 7:18Speaker 2: one of your brothers. If one of your brothers was
- 7:21Speaker 2: in the arms, right, he would be the most revered
- 7:23Speaker 2: in your family, right of course? Of course is he
- 7:28Speaker 2: You're you're oldest, he's not the favorite. Well, I don't
- 7:31Speaker 2: think my parents really have favorites. Okay, they don't show
- 7:34Speaker 2: it if they do. Yeah, but so they are like, basically,
- 7:41Speaker 2: I'm not the favorite. I will join the army. But
- 7:43Speaker 2: she's just bitter right now. And she's bitter because she
- 7:46Speaker 2: doesn't have a man, and that's why she doesn't have
- 7:48Speaker 2: a man. She doesn't have a man because she's bitter,
- 7:50Speaker 2: and she says, no, you're the reason I don't have
- 7:53Speaker 2: a man. I have to keep babying you. I have
- 7:55Speaker 2: time for a man, and just Jerry's ready to rule,
- 7:58Speaker 2: she can't get it done, she can't get a dime.
- 8:01Speaker 2: You were a mom, you supported your kid. You cannot
- 8:04Speaker 2: ask for your money back. That's not how parenting works.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Jerry disagrees. Jerry says, gosh, Jerry.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Says, the car is gonna.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Go back to mom.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, car's gonna go back to her name. But I
- 8:19Speaker 2: don't feel a ja like you are thankful or showing
- 8:25Speaker 2: the appreciation to your mom that she deserves for spending
- 8:28Speaker 2: the money and helping you out. And so for that reason,
- 8:30Speaker 2: I'm going to ask you to pay her back half.
- 8:33Speaker 2: You know, you're a parent. You sometimes you pay for
- 8:35Speaker 2: your kid's stuff, and sometimes that that carries into when
- 8:38Speaker 2: you're an adult. But you are an adult now and
- 8:42Speaker 2: you're not appreciating your mom that your mom is continuing
- 8:44Speaker 2: to support you as an adult. So I'm gonna ask
- 8:46Speaker 2: you to pay back half. Wow, that's how he handled
- 8:49Speaker 2: that situation has nothing to do with the law. But uh, yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 2: you know he's an adult, he's an adult half he
- 8:55Speaker 2: should have to pay.
- 8:57Speaker 1: That's exactly right, with no contract at all. It's terrible.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Well, just Jerry obviously obviously, Yeah, and him thanks for
- 9:08Speaker 2: our military, Yes, thank you for the troops.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was owl, all right. That was a lot louder
- 9:12Speaker 1: than why. I didn't mean to hit it. I didn't
- 9:16Speaker 1: mean to hit it that hard. I didn't mean to
- 9:17Speaker 1: hit it that hard. Great, much better, all right, Let's
- 9:22Speaker 1: haveme over to Judge Ross's. Yes, uh, courtroom. And I
- 9:26Speaker 1: don't know if you know this about Judge Ross.
- 9:27Speaker 2: You might because we've said it fifty times, But in
- 9:30Speaker 2: his courtroom justice.
- 9:32Speaker 1: It's a foreign concept. It is not a foreign coms.
- 9:34Speaker 1: That's not what he wants. He thinks people think it is.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And he's like, I meant even change. He assumed it
- 9:39Speaker 1: was that way, the way in his co resid is
- 9:42Speaker 1: and everywhere the other you're saying no, no, no, no no.
- 9:44Speaker 2: And what better way to just completely dismantle that myth
- 9:47Speaker 2: than to have a case about two undred and thirteen
- 9:50Speaker 2: dollars pair of pants. I love Rudy Ward is suing
- 9:54Speaker 2: Hailey Spencer for two d and thirteen dollars because she
- 9:57Speaker 2: ruined his pants.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Now both like like hot dogs? Love a brod a
- 10:02Speaker 1: hot dog?
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah? Man?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Do you think you would ever get a hot dog
- 10:06Speaker 1: at the movie theater ever?
- 10:09Speaker 2: I've thought about it, of course you have, But then
- 10:12Speaker 2: I I can't imagine a world where I could get
- 10:15Speaker 2: a hot Would you eat a hot dog at the
- 10:16Speaker 2: movie theater?
- 10:17Speaker 1: You've done it? Yeah, let me tell you. Let me
- 10:21Speaker 1: tell you what's We're good. You're gonna love this. But listen,
- 10:26Speaker 1: Aaron Aaron dog.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Like, at least at the Regal, when you order hot food,
- 10:30Speaker 2: you have to wait for it.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That's what's holding me back.
- 10:33Speaker 2: If it was like at the QT where they got
- 10:35Speaker 2: them on the roller and they just throw it and
- 10:37Speaker 2: I'm good to go, I can see myself ordering a
- 10:40Speaker 2: hot dog and I just nachas.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Are my limit there.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I think anything that's actual food at a theater, I
- 10:47Speaker 2: just I don't know, there's something in my head.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I can't do it. But a hot dog in a
- 10:50Speaker 1: movie theater, if it's if it's not, if it's not
- 10:52Speaker 1: a roller regularly, No, you never gotten a dog or
- 10:57Speaker 1: anything like that. At a QT. Yeah it's quick. Yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 1: it's all so to me. I'm sitting in a room
- 11:02Speaker 1: with a bunch of other Like, you bring a couple
- 11:05Speaker 1: of dogs into a crowded theater, like a packed out theater.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Didn't that ruined? Like it would ruin it? For if
- 11:11Speaker 1: I'm watching the movie and I'm like, do I smell
- 11:13Speaker 1: the ballpark right now? Like I would be out of it.
- 11:16Speaker 3: It's gone before I get to the theater.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you ate it on the way in.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I am so.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Hungry, I'm not gonna be able to make it to
- 11:23Speaker 1: the movie.
- 11:24Speaker 2: It's the worst thing to go to the movie theater
- 11:26Speaker 2: hungry because then I'm like, yeah, I need candy, any
- 11:28Speaker 2: Nacho's and the big drink.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And you never brought an outside food?
- 11:31Speaker 2: Uh not from a restaurant. I brought an outside candy,
- 11:34Speaker 2: But I've never like.
- 11:35Speaker 1: You never you've never gotten fries from the McDonald's.
- 11:38Speaker 2: We didn't take them in. I had Oh okay. Every
- 11:41Speaker 2: time I see people eating food food in a movie theater,
- 11:44Speaker 2: I look down on them. Interesting, Well, I could be
- 11:47Speaker 2: just wrong, not like that on some one of.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Those fancy theaters where like they serve you.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I don't go to those theaters because I hate They're amazing.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I hate them.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I hear glasses clinking and silver clinking, and so is
- 12:00Speaker 2: getting refills while the movie's on. Have you lost your
- 12:03Speaker 2: gd mind? We're here to not do that stuff. The
- 12:08Speaker 2: whole point of the movie theater is to not have distractions, right, Sorry, anyway,
- 12:13Speaker 2: Rudy Ward, Rudy uh Dan hates hot dogs. That's not
- 12:18Speaker 2: what I'm saying. So Ross is like, Rudy, tell me
- 12:21Speaker 2: what's going on? Stop you messing around.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Rudy.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He's like, well, Rudy, Haley and I were supposed to
- 12:26Speaker 2: go on our first date, so this is a first.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Date, okay, and go on the movie.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Lad. She poured mustard all over my clothing, and Ross
- 12:32Speaker 2: is like, she poured mustard. He's like, well, not exactly,
- 12:35Speaker 2: but she got mustard all over me. And Hailey's like,
- 12:38Speaker 2: we were going on a date and the mustard wouldn't
- 12:41Speaker 2: have happened if we had followed the original plan of
- 12:43Speaker 2: the date. We were supposed to go eat sushi first
- 12:47Speaker 2: and then go to the movies. He picked out the
- 12:49Speaker 2: restaurant and he picked out the movie. That was the
- 12:51Speaker 2: date he played. What year is that's a pricey. That's
- 12:54Speaker 2: a pricey date. Ross is like, man, I love Sushie.
- 12:56Speaker 2: This sounds like a great day. You're doing a great job,
- 12:58Speaker 2: young man. And first of all, this is not for
- 13:01Speaker 2: me to say, but the two people I can't imagine
- 13:05Speaker 2: them going on a date. I don't know if they're actors.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I can't have these two people going on a date together.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I'll just say that. So he's like, so, why did
- 13:12Speaker 2: the plan change. Rudy's like, well, I work at work.
- 13:15Speaker 2: One of my coworkers messed up this order for this
- 13:19Speaker 2: law firm that we work for. I'm in charge. I
- 13:21Speaker 2: couldn't leave till it was done. I had to run
- 13:23Speaker 2: damage control. It was an unfortunate situation. And Ross's like, okay,
- 13:27Speaker 2: did you communicate that? And he goes, yeah, I did.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I told Haley, I don't want to cancel the date.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I'm really excited to go on this date with you,
- 13:33Speaker 2: but I'm gonna have to be at work a little
- 13:35Speaker 2: bit longer.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So could we just do the movie instead? Interesting?
- 13:40Speaker 2: If I was excited about the date, he's more excited
- 13:42Speaker 2: about the movie.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Is what this is telling me.
- 13:43Speaker 2: We'll get okay, Because if I was really excited to
- 13:46Speaker 2: go on a date with somebody, I would actually want
- 13:49Speaker 2: to the.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Dinners the most of the day. I would I would say,
- 13:52Speaker 1: let's stop do the movie, Let's just do the dinner.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yeah, well, he does want to see the movie. We'll
- 13:56Speaker 2: get there, Okay. I just want us to be honest
- 13:58Speaker 2: about it. There's something wrong with wanting to see the movie.
- 14:01Speaker 2: But he basically is like, hey, I don't want to
- 14:03Speaker 2: cancel the date. Is there any way we could not
- 14:05Speaker 2: do dinner and we just eat on our own and
- 14:08Speaker 2: we'll see at the movie theater. She says yeah. Before
- 14:11Speaker 2: she does that, Ross is like, now, see, that's a
- 14:13Speaker 2: whole different date. So Ross was really excited this guy
- 14:15Speaker 2: planned sushi movie. Then he hears this and he turns
- 14:18Speaker 2: on him real quick. He's like, that's a whole different date.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Like what you're doing now is is like this is
- 14:23Speaker 2: not like you're basically just meeting her to see a movie.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You could do that with anybody, that's right and hey,
- 14:27Speaker 1: And she's like he's like, all right, Hayley, tell me,
- 14:30Speaker 1: Like what's going on? She was like, well, literally when
- 14:33Speaker 1: he texted I had a dress and a and heals
- 14:35Speaker 1: on I immediately threw that out the window. What's the
- 14:39Speaker 1: from all those plans when out of the window, we're
- 14:41Speaker 1: going to a dark room. Yeah's a point.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I just I wasn't gonna that that was for for sushi.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I wasn't gonna do that anymore. And she was like
- 14:48Speaker 2: and so I like kind of had to get my
- 14:50Speaker 2: wrap my brain around the fact that we're just going
- 14:51Speaker 2: to a movie.
- 14:52Speaker 1: We're not going to eat. And so I got changed.
- 14:55Speaker 2: And then I went to the movie theater and I
- 14:56Speaker 2: didn't eat before I went, and I was really hungry.
- 14:59Speaker 2: My main fo becus was getting food. I didn't want
- 15:01Speaker 2: to go eat alone. I didn't want to sit in
- 15:02Speaker 2: a restaurant by myself. I didn't have much food at home.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I had a cheese stick. I ate that, and I
- 15:06Speaker 2: figured I'll just eat something at the movies. That's I
- 15:09Speaker 2: don't want to go out and eat by myself.
- 15:11Speaker 1: It was a cheese stick.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, been there. And so Rudy's ross is like, Rudy,
- 15:15Speaker 2: so what what happened? Then he's like, well, I mean
- 15:17Speaker 2: I got I got there, like obviously, I bought the tickets.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I got us a large popcorn, soda, some sour candy
- 15:22Speaker 2: for all of us to share, and then she requested more,
- 15:25Speaker 2: that's what he says, uh and uh, And did Rudy eat.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I'm sure they brought him something at while he was working,
- 15:33Speaker 2: that would be my guest. Ross is like, what do
- 15:35Speaker 2: you mean she requested something more? Like she maybe she
- 15:38Speaker 2: wanted something more. And he's like, well, I just was
- 15:41Speaker 2: wondering because I did say we should eat beforehand, like
- 15:44Speaker 2: I said that to her, like I did text her
- 15:46Speaker 2: that information. And Ross is like, Rudy, it's a hot dog.
- 15:51Speaker 2: You were gonna spend big bucks sh at the sushi.
- 15:55Speaker 2: This is nothing, man Like, what's the It is a
- 15:58Speaker 2: movie theater hot dog. So it's a it's a spicy tune,
- 16:03Speaker 2: not a Costco hot.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Dog, though, it's all I'm trying to say.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So then where He's like, so we sit down and
- 16:07Speaker 2: like ten minutes into the movie, she just starts to
- 16:10Speaker 2: eat the hot dog. So not during the trailers. Ten
- 16:13Speaker 2: minutes into the actual movie, she started to eat the
- 16:16Speaker 2: hot dog and she drinks the hot dog and mustard.
- 16:18Speaker 2: There's so much mustard. Ross is like, well, what movie
- 16:23Speaker 2: did you see? He's like, well, we went to see
- 16:24Speaker 2: a horror movie and it's one I've really been looking
- 16:26Speaker 2: forward to. Seeing, and he goes, well, did you ask
- 16:28Speaker 2: her if she wanted to see the movie? And he goes, well,
- 16:32Speaker 2: it was critically acclaimed, Like it's not like just some
- 16:34Speaker 2: run of the mill horror movie. It's a critically claim movie.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Everybody's been talking about it. And I did tell her, like,
- 16:38Speaker 2: we should go to this restaurant and see this movie
- 16:40Speaker 2: ahead of time, like I was planning this. Ross then
- 16:43Speaker 2: gives him a lecture about like how to treat women
- 16:46Speaker 2: like it is a oh it is a fifty year
- 16:48Speaker 2: like it's so antiquated, but it's like, you know, you
- 16:52Speaker 2: weren't really in tune to what she was feeling or
- 16:54Speaker 2: what she wants, Like Ross, she did want to see
- 16:57Speaker 2: the movie, though, Well, right, if all I'm saying, if
- 17:01Speaker 2: he says we're going to sushi and we're gonna go
- 17:03Speaker 2: see this movie, she if you really don't like horror movie,
- 17:07Speaker 2: you don't.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Like horror movies, right, So if a guy said, hey, we're.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Gonna go to sushi and we're gonna go see a
- 17:11Speaker 2: horror movie, you'd be like, I love to sushi, hate
- 17:13Speaker 2: the horror, right, pick a movie, Yeah, you.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Would pick a different movie. Well, Haley said, I'm not
- 17:18Speaker 1: a fan of scary movies.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I don't like them. I told him that beforehand. He
- 17:22Speaker 2: told me it wasn't actually gonna be that scary, it
- 17:25Speaker 2: would be fine, And I figured, okay, whatever, let's just go.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I'm trying, Rudy, I'm trying.
- 17:33Speaker 2: So Rudy's like ten minutes into the movie, start seeing
- 17:35Speaker 2: the hot dog jump scar happens. She freaks out, hot
- 17:39Speaker 2: dog drinched with mustard, goes flying all over my pants
- 17:43Speaker 2: and shirt, my pants and Ross goes and now you're
- 17:46Speaker 2: suing her, That's what he says. Immediately, Rudy's like, yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 2: I am, I got receipts. Ross is like, have you
- 17:55Speaker 2: been having challenges dating? And he's like, well, this is
- 17:59Speaker 2: the biggest one for sure, that's what he says.
- 18:01Speaker 1: And uh he like.
- 18:04Speaker 2: He's like, when you told her you were gonna sue
- 18:07Speaker 2: her for the cost of your pants?
- 18:09Speaker 1: What did she say?
- 18:11Speaker 2: And he was like, I didn't talk her about it.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I just sent her the paperwork. He was like, you
- 18:16Speaker 2: just sent her the summons that she was being sued,
- 18:21Speaker 2: And Haymi was like, yeah, I was pretty shocked, Like
- 18:23Speaker 2: you didn't ask, hey, can you would you mind buying
- 18:26Speaker 2: me new paints. She said, I apologized, and like, I
- 18:28Speaker 2: just don't think it's my job to buy him new pants,
- 18:31Speaker 2: Like I didn't like if we had gone on the
- 18:33Speaker 2: date that we had originally planned and we didn't see
- 18:35Speaker 2: a horror movie, like, none of this would have happened.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Uh.
- 18:39Speaker 2: And so Rudy's like, I got this. He's got two invoices,
- 18:42Speaker 2: he's got thirteen dollars to dry clean the shirt, and
- 18:45Speaker 2: then he's got a receipt for a pair of pants
- 18:47Speaker 2: that were two hundred dollars. Cannot be He can't get
- 18:50Speaker 2: the mustard out of the pants, can't get the mustard
- 18:52Speaker 2: of the pants.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Club, So do you learned that angel in the Outfield's right?
- 18:55Speaker 1: I was literally just thinking, yeah, club soda. Club, So
- 18:57Speaker 1: club Soda. I got.
- 18:59Speaker 2: So Haley is like Ross is like, whose fault is this, Hailey?
- 19:08Speaker 2: And Hailey goes, I mean, I just don't think I
- 19:11Speaker 2: should have to pay for something like this. It's an accident.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Had we gone on the original date, or had we
- 19:16Speaker 2: not gone to a horror movie. There's so many ways
- 19:19Speaker 2: where this.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Was not my fault.
- 19:21Speaker 2: And he says, if you damage someone's car, or like
- 19:25Speaker 2: you drop their cell phone, would you feel obligated to
- 19:28Speaker 2: pay for that, even if it was an accident. She said, yes,
- 19:32Speaker 2: I would, But that situation is very different than what
- 19:35Speaker 2: happened to me on this day, is it? Though Ross
- 19:38Speaker 2: is ready to I don't think that it is that
- 19:40Speaker 2: much different. Obviously, in an ideal world, Rudy is a
- 19:44Speaker 2: man of his word that takes you out for sushi
- 19:47Speaker 2: and probably go see a different movie. When you say, hey,
- 19:50Speaker 2: I'm not into horror movies. But that's not what happened,
- 19:54Speaker 2: Rudy said, can't go to sushi?
- 19:56Speaker 1: Would you just meet me at the movie theater? She said, okay.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Knowing about the movie, she could have chosen any number
- 20:03Speaker 2: of foods that wouldn't have mustard on it. She chose
- 20:07Speaker 2: hot dog. Listen, Rudy's the villain in this. Don't hear
- 20:12Speaker 2: what I'm not saying. But at the end of the day,
- 20:15Speaker 2: she dropped the hot dog and the mustard.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Went on his pants. By the law, I think she
- 20:23Speaker 1: should have to pay for it. What do you think
- 20:24Speaker 1: you're in.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I know I'm not saying that's what I want.
- 20:31Speaker 3: So what I'm hearing is that brand is blaming the women.
- 20:36Speaker 1: He would probably.
- 20:37Speaker 4: I mean, I think that brand would go on a
- 20:39Speaker 4: date right right up to them and be like, what.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Are you wearing? I mean, maybe she should have as
- 20:44Speaker 3: Rudy haired.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Those pants, but he chose to wear two pants. I
- 20:51Speaker 4: wouldn't wear anything that cost two undred dollars here.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I wouldn't wear the but that's it.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I don't things. She owes him anything.
- 21:01Speaker 4: I think spilling mustard on pants is very different than
- 21:03Speaker 4: getting in a car accident.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Judge Ross is going to agree with brand. Uh again,
- 21:10Speaker 1: it's not what I want, okay. I think Rudy's the
- 21:13Speaker 1: villain in this story.
- 21:14Speaker 2: He says, if it was another courtroom too, I'm thinking
- 21:17Speaker 2: through the lens of ross raw. She says, yeah, I
- 21:21Speaker 2: would a car or a phone, like, yeah, but this
- 21:23Speaker 2: is way different than that, and she he says to her,
- 21:26Speaker 2: what's the difference, and she says, I don't actually, I
- 21:32Speaker 2: don't actually know what the difference is. And he says
- 21:34Speaker 2: that's because there is no difference.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Oh boy. He does deduct for a depreciation of the pants.
- 21:41Speaker 1: It's good.
- 21:42Speaker 2: He gives UH one sixty three for the pants and
- 21:46Speaker 2: then thirteen to one eighty six total. Rudy wins the case,
- 21:50Speaker 2: and this guy is they have to believe their actors
- 21:54Speaker 2: because this guy's the worst human. Like, I honestly believe
- 21:58Speaker 2: if she had gone to sushi with him within the
- 22:00Speaker 2: first ten minutes, she would have been like, I'm done
- 22:02Speaker 2: with this dated. Yeah, like, I just can't imagine continuing
- 22:07Speaker 2: forth on the date with this guy. But I, you know,
- 22:12Speaker 2: I don't. I don't have a lot of experience in
- 22:13Speaker 2: that in that uh, in that world. So also like
- 22:17Speaker 2: red flag that when you say you're not a horror fan,
- 22:20Speaker 2: he doesn't go, hey, yeah, we'll get another movie. Another
- 22:23Speaker 2: red flag that hey, I can't I'm working late. If
- 22:27Speaker 2: he's working late on the first date, he's gonna work
- 22:30Speaker 2: late on all the dates. Yeah, when it's a red
- 22:32Speaker 2: flag dating. First year of dating, a little movie came
- 22:37Speaker 2: out called The Ring. My wife does not like horror movies.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I did talk her into going to see that. And
- 22:46Speaker 2: I did that because there was a USA to Day
- 22:47Speaker 2: review written that maybe this was that said it was
- 22:53Speaker 2: more of a mystery movie than a horror movie, which
- 22:55Speaker 2: is true. You got to figure out everything in that
- 22:57Speaker 2: tape to put it all together. And I said, you know, Sarah,
- 23:00Speaker 2: this review says this, And that was in two thousand
- 23:04Speaker 2: and one or two twenty two years later, has Sarah
- 23:08Speaker 2: Thompson let me forget about it?
- 23:10Speaker 1: Absolutely no? Or should she? I a angry I still
- 23:14Speaker 1: angry about it.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Do you watch me this case and you hear him
- 23:17Speaker 2: say that and you're like, yeah, no, no.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I was like, this guy's the worst, and then he
- 23:21Speaker 1: said that. I was like, oh, no.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Ah, but am I that guy to me? Because he
- 23:24Speaker 5: looks down at his two hundred dollars shoes. It wasn't
- 23:28Speaker 5: the first date. We've been dating for a few months. Yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 5: so it wasn't the first date.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I had a little bit of capital at that Pointyeah,
- 23:35Speaker 2: you had gotten to the point where you could convince
- 23:37Speaker 2: her that's right, yes, yeah, and I didn't just so
- 23:39Speaker 2: we're seeing this movie. If she had said no, I
- 23:42Speaker 2: don't want to see the movie, I would have just
- 23:44Speaker 2: been like no. But and if she was here, she'd
- 23:46Speaker 2: be looser. Send her this episode please, oh god, and
- 23:52Speaker 2: I do want I like, that's it's tough, but this
- 23:55Speaker 2: is the type of penn innes that I that this
- 23:56Speaker 2: show was made for.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Yeah, this show right here was made for because.
- 24:00Speaker 2: That's like so dumb, but like, yeah, probably probably Like
- 24:05Speaker 2: if I really wanted to be that petty. I could
- 24:08Speaker 2: probably sue somebody for that. You know what's great is
- 24:10Speaker 2: Ross even knows that Rudy's the beck.
- 24:11Speaker 1: He looks at her and he goes, judgment has a fault,
- 24:15Speaker 1: you know, the GAVI's gonna fall in favor of the
- 24:16Speaker 1: plane of But then he says, this is gonna be
- 24:19Speaker 1: good for you. Do you know why this is gonna
- 24:20Speaker 1: be good for you? Because now one hundred and eighty
- 24:22Speaker 1: six dollars you're dumb with him. You don't have to
- 24:26Speaker 1: deal with him anymore. And he's not wrong. He's not
- 24:30Speaker 1: wrong on that front.
- 24:31Speaker 2: How about that? Yeah, well we did. Everybody, Congratulations, be
