- 0:20Favorite happy places her chicken coop, along with all her
- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the Torch of, and not the very rainy.
- 0:33Pouring hard Chicken Coop. Yes, it's pouring again.
- 0:37So we're stuck in kind of a weather pattern and that made me
- 0:41start to think about how people get stuck in their patterns and
- 0:45figured. All right, let's talk about that
- 0:47because it's such an important part of recognizing, when you
- 0:51are stuck in a pattern, you know, it's easy, when it's the
- 0:55weather to see it every day and it's like, oh, there's rain up,
- 0:58there is rain. Oh, there is No up there snow
- 1:02again but it's not so easy to see it when you are in an
- 1:07emotional pattern. It's very difficult unless
- 1:10someone's helping you see it? You really can't often notice it
- 1:15but you'll feel it. You might not notice your
- 1:17reactions to things or out of line, but you'll feel it, you'll
- 1:21feel off. You'll feel like you are
- 1:24experiencing Groundhog Day. Same day over and over.
- 1:27For those of you who haven't seen the movie Groundhog Day,
- 1:30It's the same day over and over every day, he wakes up in the
- 1:34same choices are available to him.
- 1:36And it's actually really quite a fascinating movie, Bill Murray,
- 1:39if you haven't seen it, check it out.
- 1:42But needless to say, when you're in this emotional pattern, when
- 1:45you're stuck in this emotional pattern, sometimes it's so deep
- 1:51that you don't even see it. You don't even see your
- 1:54triggers. You don't see the way out.
- 1:57You don't see much about it. All you see and recognize is.
- 2:01It sucks or it's overwhelming and the big emotions start to
- 2:06show up with it. But remember, emotions are here
- 2:09to help us. They're here to help us figure
- 2:11our way out of things that are here to help us make things
- 2:14better. That contrary to popular belief,
- 2:16they are not here to destroy us are here to help us.
- 2:19So when you start to use them as a guiding force, instead of the,
- 2:24you know, proverbial, they are a pain in the ass and I can't
- 2:27stand this, you can figure things out.
- 2:30Out. But you have to be timely with
- 2:32it, and you have to be consistent with it and you have
- 2:35to notice it. So when you are in a pattern,
- 2:39the very first thing is the Discovery process of this.
- 2:42You know, what's going on? What am I feeling?
- 2:45And you know, what is it trying to tell me?
- 2:49What is this emotion trying to tell me debrief yourself?
- 2:52See if you can figure it out and I can assure you.
- 2:55The answer is not that you are stupid.
- 2:57So when you say, oh, it's teaching me that I'm dumb.
- 3:00Nah That's not the case you're choosing to have that
- 3:03interpretation because just like everything else in the world.
- 3:07There are many interpretations of it, many, many, many
- 3:10interpretations can come down. So it's figuring out.
- 3:14What interpretation serves you not?
- 3:17What will hurt you and if you're in a place of it, just hurting
- 3:21you, you're probably choosing the wrong interpretation because
- 3:25beating yourself up is usually not the right one.
- 3:28So thinking about, Out, you know, that that point of saying,
- 3:33okay, discover what it's trying to teach you, do the best you
- 3:36can with that piece. But usually, when you keep
- 3:38asking the question, what information are you trying to
- 3:41give me? What are you trying to teach me?
- 3:44What are you trying to provide to me?
- 3:45If you ask those kind of questions, you will get some
- 3:47really great answers. Then you take that information
- 3:51and you say, okay, now that I have this information in my
- 3:55hand, I want to change the way I view this situation.
- 4:01Is there another way I can look at this?
- 4:03Is there another way I can feel about this?
- 4:06Is there. Another way I can interpret this
- 4:08in the answer is yes, but you have to change your point of
- 4:10view. Just like if you if you stand
- 4:13was a little exercise that you can do which I love doing these
- 4:16exercises because they help you understand those perspective, if
- 4:20you stand still and you face, let's say North, even if you
- 4:23don't know what direction, North is pick a spot and face there.
- 4:27Now you can see forward and if you have Full peripheral vision.
- 4:31You can see way to your left and way to your right, but it's
- 4:35limited. We're not owls.
- 4:37We can't see in the back of our head so we have to turn.
- 4:39So if you turn 15 degrees to your left and then you look,
- 4:44you've now changed your perspective.
- 4:46There's a whole new piece. Coming off to the side on the
- 4:49left and then you do the same thing again. 15 degrees.
- 4:53Boom! It's all changed again, 15
- 4:55degrees, boom! It's all changed again.
- 4:57And before you know it, you have created a We different view but
- 5:02that's by incrementally, changing your Vantage Point.
- 5:05So, when you do that with your possibilities of what this could
- 5:08mean, all of a sudden you now have a menu to choose from,
- 5:13about what something could mean to you.
- 5:16And that's the beginning of getting out of a pattern by
- 5:19changing what something could mean to you by changing the
- 5:23possibilities. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 5:28pull that up. Work on that, put that out there
- 5:32and get your head in the right place about it because there are
- 5:37infinite possibilities of what things could mean and feel like
- 5:40in a world filled with infinite possibilities, my friends.
- 5:44Okay, I hope that you guys have a very blessed day and I will
- 5:48see you tomorrow. Bye.
