- 0:02And as I said just before we started recording, I'm bringing
- 0:05it back. Ahoy ahoy.
- 0:07Ahoy. Ahoy, Luke, I've got a question
- 0:10to for you. To start off, how was your KFC?
- 0:17I shut down a. Business Welcome to multiple
- 0:21nerdgasm with your hosts, Matt. Luke.
- 0:26And Dan multiple nerdgasm, your guide to all things nerdy.
- 0:40Yeah, we got so I wouldn't I wasn't following this,
- 0:42obviously, because I'm not in Australia, but we got Nate was
- 0:46like, you guys fucked up Menulog.
- 0:48Yeah, he didn't say in those words.
- 0:52He's much less crass than I am. Yeah, he's very sophisticated.
- 0:56I've been writing them going like you don't have the
- 0:59infrastructure to handle business in.
- 1:02You've been writing to them and saying.
- 1:04Writing to them but say like just in Canberra.
- 1:08Maybe that's why they don't deliver your food with the
- 1:10quickest priority. They, they literally had some
- 1:13meeting the other day where they're like, we've been getting
- 1:15this feedback from this customer and I think he's right.
- 1:18Yeah, guys. Well.
- 1:19This guy's right. Like actually maybe a grumpy old
- 1:22man. I only.
- 1:24Thought it was in Canberra because it would say 40 minute
- 1:27estimate, fine, and then three hours later my food might
- 1:31arrive. Yeah.
- 1:32And I'm hungry now. You don't, you don't have enough
- 1:36drivers for this and they're, Oh no, you need to take into
- 1:39account traffic or something. I live in Canberra.
- 1:42I can drive from one side to the other 10 times in time.
- 1:45It's taken with your driver not to arrive.
- 1:48Yeah, right. Like don't try and throw traffic
- 1:51as a reason. You really have had these
- 1:54conversations, haven't you? This is not a bit you're doing
- 1:56I. Mean the listeners didn't have
- 2:00sort of had that conversation last week during the show.
- 2:04I've emailed them, I've spoken to them, I've said this to the
- 2:08people, and I'm sorry I got you all fired, but you just didn't
- 2:12have well. It doesn't sound like there's
- 2:13any staff to be fired. I think the problem is is they
- 2:17did have a big thing for a little while while they were
- 2:20spending a lot of money on advertising, Like a lot of
- 2:24money, like getting a lot of big stars.
- 2:27Celebrity endorsements, Yeah. Yep, and I think that's just
- 2:31where all the money went. OK, I'm scrolling down like they
- 2:35used to like Snoop Dogg, they would have Snoop Dogg doing and
- 2:42they used to have had the football all the time.
- 2:44And I honestly thought, I only thought it was a Canberra
- 2:48problem just due to there's 300, three, 100,000 people here so.
- 2:53Yeah, I mean, that sounds like a lot to me, but for a city,
- 2:55that's probably not much. Yeah, compared to the capital.
- 2:58City, Yeah. Well, are you?
- 3:01Maybe not, but yeah, they're shutting down.
- 3:07Literally shutting down when you look the parent company in
- 3:11Europe somewhere. I don't think I don't order food
- 3:14to deliver. I think the dollar.
- 3:15Simply can't afford it. They've given me credit and I'm
- 3:18going, no, I don't want credit, I want my money back.
- 3:21You don't that make money back 'cause you give.
- 3:23Me money, I bet they're giving everyone credit at the moment.
- 3:26Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes. Valid for that.
- 3:27Sometimes I'll say yes to that, like if it's 'cause I get stuff
- 3:31from Walmart, like groceries from Walmart, and if something
- 3:34shit, I'll go no, it's, you know, no good.
- 3:37Then they'll go, oh, do you want to refund to your credit and
- 3:39say, well, I'm going to use that next week?
- 3:40Yeah, yeah. But then if it's something more
- 3:42obscure, it's like, no, fuck you.
- 3:44Because they'll say, yeah, we. Can spending any money with you.
- 3:47Yeah, we can give you credit straight away or you can get a
- 3:48refund on your credit card in like 7 years.
- 3:51One of the things they used to love to do, which is to annoy
- 3:54the hell out of me, was they would there'd be an issue, they
- 3:57go, we had to cancel or wasn't believable or something.
- 3:59They'd go, OK, we'll give you a credit on your account for the
- 4:02amount that you spent. But to use that credit, you now
- 4:06need to spend a dollar. But yeah, I just want to
- 4:09reorder. What I the same thought.
- 4:12I don't want to spend more money.
- 4:14I just want my order back. I they could never just reorder
- 4:19for me. And then when you get have a
- 4:22really bad experience and they give you a credit, like, yeah,
- 4:25as a refund, I'm gonna give you a credit and it's like, but it's
- 4:28like 20 bucks and it's like, well, I'm not spending any more
- 4:31money with you. That's right.
- 4:32Yeah, Yeah, yeah. Give me another cold pizza.
- 4:35Thanks. Yeah, I really enjoyed that one,
- 4:39even though I am complaining about it.
- 4:41Yeah, we have some Walmart news, but it's probably after party
- 4:46news, although there's a lot of dead people piling up that that
- 4:50we could talk a bit then after party instead.
- 4:51Walmart's going to be closing. I think Walmart's here to stay.
- 4:56I'll be honest, no. No, no, no.
- 4:58They're in trouble. In some states, they're closed.
- 5:03OK. Closing stores.
- 5:05Shoplifting's just so bad they're going.
- 5:07Oh, wait. That's.
- 5:09Right. Just come and take it, mate.
- 5:10Just take it, take it all. There's people just come in and
- 5:13stealing. There's no point in else keeping
- 5:14our doors open. Jesus.
- 5:17Maybe they should close the doors.
- 5:19Maybe that's the problem? Yeah.
- 5:21No, look, we might as well talk about it.
- 5:23I mean, we're, we're talking about Walmart now.
- 5:24Anyway, have you guys seen this T-shirt?
- 5:26That's just been we're about to they've been they've been forced
- 5:29to to take down just Scroll down, Scroll down.
- 5:33Oh God. Oh, OK.
- 5:38Hmm. Oh.
- 5:42Interesting. Yeah, OK.
- 5:45See, I can sort of see what they're going for, but it also
- 5:48it doesn't work without having scissors.
- 5:53It says here that the So this is paper beats rock, and it's got a
- 5:57fist with a hand, but the hand is is seemingly doing a bit of
- 6:01throwing a bit of a sea, Kyle. And yeah, And it does say that
- 6:05both of these symbols are used by white supremacists.
- 6:08Is that the case? I've not seen the well.
- 6:10Actually, wasn't the the the Fist the Black Panther?
- 6:14Yeah, Black Panthers. Like they were the.
- 6:16From what I know, the Black Panthers that's the opposite of
- 6:18white. Rotation of the hand.
- 6:21Maybe it is, yes, Yeah. But that's not, I mean, I'm not
- 6:25that I'm an expert on the Black Panthers, but I think that's the
- 6:29wrong position of the hand because I.
- 6:31Remember, there was a documentary that I was going to
- 6:33watch one day and it was the guy.
- 6:35Because they, they like forward like that.
- 6:36This one's kind of like, more like a like it's going to be
- 6:39fisting your butt or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:40There was a documentary I was going to watch once which was
- 6:43about the guy, I forget which, Linux.
- 6:45Was it was about? It was about the Olympics.
- 6:52This guy who came third I think was Australian or something, but
- 6:55it was about his sort of pointed out with like.
- 6:58Because he didn't do the hand, did he?
- 7:00But he just. Left it he he he was white, but
- 7:02he was yeah, there as part that's right yeah, his story in
- 7:07that like not taking part because it's not his story but.
- 7:11I think he still bowed his head and was very respectful cause
- 7:15and I think they told him in advance they were going to do
- 7:17it. And he was like, yeah, I agree.
- 7:20Yeah, it used to be a mural painted.
- 7:23Yeah, there was a mural painted somewhere on King Street I
- 7:26remember at one point. I might watch it one day.
- 7:32Yeah, yeah, where little vendors used to be, right on King
- 7:36Street, Yes. Correct.
- 7:36Yeah, around that area. Look, I don't want to derail
- 7:40this completely, but yeah, this easy mistake or subtle racism,
- 7:47but what do we think? Oh.
- 7:49I just. No, I think the creator of the
- 7:52shirt probably knew what they were doing.
- 7:54I'd have to say like you don't accidentally use two.
- 7:58Two of the three, yeah. If there was scissors in there
- 8:02somewhere, I could say. Honest mistake.
- 8:04Yeah, I could say if somebody at Walmart saw this, it meant OK.
- 8:07Yep, approved. Like because they didn't know.
- 8:09Yes, sure. Yeah.
- 8:11Like, but the person who made it, I mean, if if those are both
- 8:15white supremacist symbols, come on mate.
- 8:18But isn't Walmart also going along the lines of some other
- 8:22stores being like like like an Amazon online store?
- 8:25So not really. A print on demand.
- 8:27Yeah, this, yeah, this wouldn't be in in the store.
- 8:30This isn't their their, yeah, their proprietary brand.
- 8:34Yeah. Yeah, I'd say that's probably
- 8:36true. But like even if they do,
- 8:38because they do vet some of these, but you might not if if
- 8:42I'd seen this, I would have been like OK.
- 8:45I don't think I would. But I might not have, Yeah,
- 8:48exactly. But I would have probably might
- 8:51have laughed and sent it to you guys again.
- 8:52This looks like yeah, yeah. Throwing up a siegile anyway,
- 8:55approved because you know. But I I I reckon only like 10%
- 8:59of the stuff is actually looked at by a person.
- 9:03Yeah. If that.
- 9:05They're all they had Grok colours and as we all know, Grok
- 9:09is Mecca Hitler, so. Yes, Grok, Speaking of Hitler.
- 9:14I mean, I don't want to. I don't want to point fingers.
- 9:17You know. But go on, Germany have decided
- 9:21to implement mandatory conscription again for males
- 9:25over 18. Now I don't know if any of you
- 9:27were any of this. For I.
- 9:28Don't know if any of you guys are history buffs but the last
- 9:32two times that happened it was really bad news for us.
- 9:36What did they do? What's going on?
- 9:38I think they're worried about Russia.
- 9:40Oh, OK, well, that makes, that makes sense.
- 9:42I was gonna say, you think this whole all this stuff about when
- 9:45I was there and they're always like, oh, you know what a
- 9:47Hitler, what a knob. Yeah.
- 9:49And then we leave and they're like, think they bought it.
- 9:51Yeah, because if you went to Germany between World War One
- 9:54and Two, they'd be like Kaiser, what a knob, eh?
- 9:56And then you leave and they're. Like, Oh yeah, right.
- 9:58And secret, they'd be like, love you Kaiser.
- 10:00Sorry. Yes, yeah, we have to say it.
- 10:04So, so yeah, we're retreating here.
- 10:05It's sort of just the they want to sort of increase it by like a
- 10:09few 100,000 people And it says the war in Ukraine and A and a
- 10:13stark warning from the administration of Trump is that
- 10:17Europe must take responsibility for its own defence.
- 10:20Trump. 'S basically going oh I see you
- 10:22saw yourselves out now. Like yeah, even though I said I
- 10:26fix it all. Yeah, I was about to say that's
- 10:28actually a fair statement if he stays the fuck out of it.
- 10:33Yeah. Which he did, he did fix.
- 10:36He's just fixed Gaza, so. He did fix Thailand, Thailand
- 10:40and Laos, Thailand and Kenodia. Out of this league, I know you
- 10:44keep saying that, but I've never heard it.
- 10:45It's. Happened.
- 10:47Though how is it possible that he did that and he doesn't talk
- 10:49about it? That's what I want to know.
- 10:51But didn't he also maybe just a country that he fixed?
- 10:53Didn't he say that he he fixed the war in Moldova or something?
- 10:56And they're like, I think we had a war.
- 10:57Here, Yeah, Aberbaijan. Aberbaijan, yeah.
- 11:00But but. But the what real one that he
- 11:02just. Don't remember spots of the
- 11:04fucking continent. Yeah, and.
- 11:09It did happen. Yeah, no, I believe you.
- 11:13I believe, I believe you that they believe that.
- 11:16Yeah. Well, also I guess it does make
- 11:18sense that Germany would be concerned about Russia again
- 11:21again so. Yet again, what?
- 11:23Mind you, the first time they were concerned about Russia,
- 11:26they had every it's. Because they knew they were
- 11:28right. Pissed them off.
- 11:29Correct. They they, they, they knew.
- 11:31Then the second time they they buddied up with Russia.
- 11:34And then halfway through the war went ha ha, surprise.
- 11:37Like, yeah. Track record what?
- 11:39Are you doing? But yeah, I can understand why
- 11:41now of all times they they won't protect themselves.
- 11:45Yeah, the Old East in front, the Aust front, as they would call
- 11:47it. Their plan, I believe was to we
- 11:50just need to kill France as quickly as possibly as so we can
- 11:53run back over, turn around. Russia won't kill us.
- 11:56Russia. Yeah, that's the plan, Yeah.
- 11:58Yeah, OK. Was it Dan Carlin?
- 12:00Was it somebody else had the analogy of like you've been
- 12:03invited to two pub fights on the same night so you get to 1 early
- 12:08with the plan to just to splash one dude?
- 12:10We need to, yeah, we need really bad as soon as.
- 12:12Because you don't want to fight two guys at once.
- 12:14Is it the Schlieffen Plan? Yeah, the Schlieffen plan.
- 12:17Yeah, that's like if we don't beat France within three days,
- 12:21we are fucked. Yeah, we're just gonna work
- 12:23because yeah, they were fucked because Belgium fucked them.
- 12:26But in the Second World War they were like, didn't they get to
- 12:29Paris in like a day? Like and.
- 12:32Paris Just. Went to France's Take It.
- 12:34Yeah. I think Paris has they didn't.
- 12:37They didn't really do that. They they decided they were
- 12:40trying to destroy their their Navy or something before before
- 12:44it happened though I think they were before they surrendered.
- 12:47I think they were trying to destroy infrastructure but
- 12:50didn't get to it in time. But my history is not good.
- 12:54I. Mean.
- 12:56It's really not good. Maybe it is a history podcast.
- 13:00If you want a history. Podcast.
- 13:01This episode is brought to you by The Rest is History.
- 13:03It's not. It's not, but you should listen
- 13:04to The Rest is History. It's very.
- 13:05Very good. Yeah, I was listening to 1 only
- 13:08today. And also Dan Cohen's Hardcore
- 13:11History is also very good. Yes, if you can wait a year
- 13:14between episodes, but they're well worth it.
- 13:17Yeah, and I say episodes, they're sometimes five hours
- 13:20long. Yes, yeah.
- 13:22The rest is history's more bites.
- 13:24I'm not a bites size, it's an hour but it's and it's frequent
- 13:26and it's very good. Yes, and they're very good.
- 13:29They're very good. Very knowledgeable.
- 13:31I'll just stick to my Flat Earth debates.
- 13:33Speaking of knowledgeable, I need some knowledge from Luke.
- 13:37You haven't yet told us how the fuck yes handheld is and I used.
- 13:42To know and I love it. OK.
- 13:44Good, good. Can you elaborate on that?
- 13:46Every. I'm playing it at lunch a lot.
- 13:48I'll just go like leave work. I'll leave work for an hour, go
- 13:51play it for an hour. That's just great.
- 13:53I'm playing. The hour you playing, can we
- 13:55admit that publicly? I'm playing it in a place in
- 13:58Canberra, I'm playing it publicly and battery loss and
- 14:04I'm playing in The Outer Worlds 2 and it runs and like really
- 14:09well. Yeah, right.
- 14:10Sick. And yeah, no, it's, it's great.
- 14:14I recommend it. OK.
- 14:17How much was it? It was, I think, a 1500
- 14:21Australian no. It's actually I thought,
- 14:22actually that's not as bad as I was thinking.
- 14:24Actually I thought you were going to say more than that.
- 14:25Your other one was more than that.
- 14:26Well, other one was more. Than the A&E next.
- 14:29Yeah, and that battery on that sucks, but this one, a few
- 14:34hours, like decent few hours playing like The Outer Worlds
- 14:38when the A&E next would struggle playing like $5 games for an
- 14:43hour. Yeah, right.
- 14:44You think they're eating some of the cost on the?
- 14:47The Xbox battery. Well, they don't do that
- 14:49anymore. I guess I don't.
- 14:50Think they do anymore, Do they? Yeah.
- 14:53Well, no, they're probably. I don't know if they are.
- 14:56Matt, I've just noticed Luke is wearing a clenched fist shirt
- 15:00and I don't know the context of it.
- 15:03Oh, from Walmart? No, it's a cure.
- 15:07No, it's definitely a white. Oh, OK.
- 15:09Cure cancer. Cure cancer.
- 15:11Cure cancer. Racism.
- 15:13Wait, because white blood cells are better than red blood cells?
- 15:18Actually, no. Too many white blood cells is
- 15:20bad for you, isn't it? Right.
- 15:21Too many of anything. Too many is the key phrase
- 15:24there, yes. So there's news this week about
- 15:31game consoles and whatnot. No new Steam Deck yet, although
- 15:35they did say there is one coming.
- 15:37However, Valve have announced a bunch of shit.
- 15:40Yeah. Basically released an Xbox.
- 15:44Yeah, they've got Steam Controller, which, yes, OK,
- 15:47looks. Looks nice.
- 15:48Looks like a nice controller. That was the first step.
- 15:50And then they said, oh, by the way, also the fucking steam, Was
- 15:53it Steam Box? What's it called?
- 15:55Steam Machine. Steam Machine?
- 15:57Yeah, it's a PC machine. I'm pretty sure Xbox have
- 15:59trademarked the word box at this point, yeah.
- 16:01Yes. It's a console slash.
- 16:03It's basically it's APC, they said.
- 16:05It literally says on the website, you can put whatever
- 16:07you want on this. We don't care.
- 16:08Yeah, it's it's APC. But it's not as it's just as
- 16:12powerful as a Xbox. There is X as in PS-5, but it's
- 16:15not, yeah, pushing boundaries or anything.
- 16:18Which is. Oh, sure.
- 16:19Sure, sure. Oh no, quite weird when this is
- 16:22getting like Series X and the PX5 are starting to get to the
- 16:26end of their life cycle. Yeah, and they're starting to
- 16:29prepare for the next. One I see which is.
- 16:31And then Valve come out with something to go, and now we're
- 16:34here too with something that's. Already the same as the thing
- 16:37you've had for five years. Yeah.
- 16:39Yeah, what's got and Avi headset is the other thing, yeah.
- 16:44Which? The cute little one is cool.
- 16:46Yeah, pretty cool. It's going to.
- 16:48Be expensive. I'm hearing that I haven't they
- 16:51they haven't announced an actual price.
- 16:53You I think you said in the chat the other day you heard 800
- 16:56bucks. Yeah, I heard 800.
- 16:58This article says it's going to cost 1000 or more.
- 17:01Which is ridiculous for essentially a console for APC.
- 17:07Yeah. Well, and while you can run this
- 17:09as APC. Windows on it and whatnot.
- 17:12Isn't the whole idea that they're trying?
- 17:13To it's APC with a better graphics card than I could
- 17:15afford if I was building APC from scratch though.
- 17:18That's what I'm wondering is it, is it still like I, I know what
- 17:21you're saying, Luke, but as a is it cheaper or the same as
- 17:27building something similar? I could build something cheaper
- 17:31that's better than this. Yeah.
- 17:34All right, if we're going. About We'll e-mail them and call
- 17:37them and tell them that you do not have the you're.
- 17:39Gonna next building these if that goes out of business after
- 17:42receiving feedback. If it comes in that USA thousand
- 17:46you could build something cheaper.
- 17:48Yeah, fairly. I mean, this thing looks pretty
- 17:51cool. I don't know.
- 17:54I don't know that I personally have A use for something like
- 17:56this. I couldn't justify.
- 17:59This. I.
- 18:00Think if I was going to buy a PC, I'll buy one that can do my
- 18:05music stuff and and I need it to do more things than just play
- 18:07games and I'm not quite sure this like I need basically I
- 18:10need more RAM for the stuff that I do so yes you.
- 18:15Want to know what it is Xbox and Val have been talking?
- 18:20Have they? I'm gonna, yeah, I'm gonna say.
- 18:22Xbox is saying wear out your. You know, something like.
- 18:25I just have a feeling because like if you look at my hand
- 18:28held, I can run Steam on it natively.
- 18:31Like don't have to do anything special.
- 18:33It's just already on there. And with Xbox going the way of
- 18:38anything's an Xbox, I think Valva just jumping on, well, we
- 18:43could. This is an Xbox.
- 18:45This is an. Xbox and you, but you can also
- 18:47run or use Steam games as well. Yeah.
- 18:50So I think, I mean that's the compelling proposition is that.
- 18:54If you just back up a SEC, Luke, you've got a there's a Steam app
- 18:57on your Yep, like an Xbox handheld.
- 19:00Yeah, interesting. I can go play all my Steam
- 19:03games. Remind me of the cost that is
- 19:05interesting, this piece of machinery.
- 19:07About 15, it's about 1500 and I got the top line one.
- 19:11There's a cheaper one, but OK. But yeah, but Steam.
- 19:15Deck is cheaper than that, but you'd have to.
- 19:17Steam Deck was. Extreme Xbox stuff.
- 19:19Yeah, which you can install you need.
- 19:25Subscription to do that? I can't do that.
- 19:27And doesn't stream stream all of your games yet they're still
- 19:30working on it. Yeah, true.
- 19:32But no, I've installed the other world so I don't even need to be
- 19:36connected to the Internet to be playing the games.
- 19:39Yeah, right. Interesting.
- 19:41Is that the same with Steam? I don't know.
- 19:43I haven't tried anything with Steam.
- 19:45I just know that I can see it's Yeah, right.
- 19:48I have never, I used them a lot, but I use it for like adventure
- 19:52games and indie games and stuff like that.
- 19:54Yeah, because I've never had APC to really push Steam gaming to
- 20:00the the limits. I've never played a AAA title on
- 20:03Steam. Yeah, I've got.
- 20:05I've resubscribed to temporarily to G Force now because it just
- 20:12lets me play stuff that I I can run some stuff on my Mac.
- 20:17OK. Like I for some reason I wanted
- 20:18to play endless space too the other day and I was like, I can
- 20:24run it on my Mac, but it's not ideal.
- 20:26And I think Endless Space too. Game I'm thinking of.
- 20:30Yeah, it is Endless Space too. Oh yes.
- 20:33Yes and then GeForce Now has like a mid tier and I was like
- 20:35well I'm not paying for the Xbox stuff anymore so I can kind of
- 20:39justify 10 bucks a month on this other.
- 20:40Thing and you can place that until you get and.
- 20:44It also it now lets you install games and you can pay a bit
- 20:46extra for persistent storage. I haven't done that yet, but you
- 20:49can install these Steam games. And so in theory, because the
- 20:52way I play adventure games and so because I'm on a Mac, there's
- 20:57some games that are not on don't work on a Mac.
- 21:00I've Parallels virtual machine. I've Windows 11 in a virtual
- 21:04machine and I can play like I play Bigger Boss Incident and
- 21:08some other stuff in AVM and if I don't have to do that anymore
- 21:11that would be ideal. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, but the
- 21:15idea of being able to just install it sounds great because
- 21:17that's like that's the like that the the PlayStation one, it was
- 21:22just the suckiest thing in the world.
- 21:23It was super expensive and you would just.
- 21:25And it was. Just had to stream from your
- 21:28Xbox, from your PlayStation. Yeah.
- 21:31Which, yeah, because that was expensive, wasn't it?
- 21:34It was like. You also had to buy it.
- 21:35Oh. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:36You still have to stream it though.
- 21:38The media thing, Persistent storage on their servers to
- 21:41install. Games and stuff.
- 21:42Oh. Yeah.
- 21:44On mine I can install games. Yeah, right, right.
- 21:48Of course, Yeah. And I can actually increase the.
- 21:50I was having a look. I can actually increase the
- 21:52storage. Can you?
- 21:54It's got like ASD card or something.
- 21:56No, you got a special. Proprietary thing.
- 22:00No, just normal SD card. You can just.
- 22:03Just normal. Buy and install from Yeah, it's
- 22:06not like the Series X where you have to buy the special one that
- 22:08plugs in. This one looks like you just buy
- 22:10a normal SD and just upgrade then.
- 22:14Why is the Series X need a special?
- 22:15You know it doesn't matter. Was that the time before Xbox
- 22:19were going down the path of everything's an Xbox?
- 22:22Or maybe it's those new SD cards like the Switch 2 needs.
- 22:26Check that the Switch 2 needs some fancy new SD card.
- 22:32Type I, I it's. Like really fast.
- 22:34At the moment I don't need it, so I'm not too worried about it
- 22:37because I probably ain't going to play one or two games at a
- 22:40time. It's not like with my Series X
- 22:42where I'll jump between games four times a day, if that, if
- 22:47more. Playing No Man's Sky still, I
- 22:49fucking love that. Game I installed it.
- 22:51So good. I need to see another.
- 22:54Expedition. Got.
- 22:55Installed Corvette parts, got myself a new base in the side of
- 22:59a mountain. On AI don't have time for this.
- 23:02This all sounds excellent for somebody who has more time.
- 23:04Than I really good especially it's good for if you want to
- 23:08listen to a podcast or even Papa James Bond movie on that you've
- 23:12seen a million times but you just want to rewatch them all.
- 23:15Been doing that still. Yeah, there's a there's a
- 23:17perfect game for that because there's the story is whatever
- 23:20you feel like doing. It's not a.
- 23:23Can I just say this is just while I think of it, you know,
- 23:26sometimes the universe comes together and you, you know, it
- 23:29feels like the destiny in a way. Trivia The other night there was
- 23:33a question about what is the highest military award given in
- 23:37the, in the Russian military or, or the, or the Soviet military.
- 23:41I think it might have been talking about current, I'm not
- 23:44sure. But literally the night before
- 23:48trivia, I have watched View to a Kill, and at the end of that
- 23:51movie, James Bond is given the order of Lennon.
- 23:54Yeah, Russian government. And you know, it's one of those
- 23:56things where I was just like, fuck off.
- 23:59Yeah, this question. Did you have to convince anyone
- 24:03else on the team? I think I said.
- 24:05And I think they. Thought the order of Lennon.
- 24:08Yeah, because it's a ridiculous movie.
- 24:10Because he said he saves Silicon Valley.
- 24:13Because Max Orin, Christopher Walker's character is gonna
- 24:16flood Silicon Valley, so he's the only chip manufacturer.
- 24:19But then Russia is happy because they need microchips.
- 24:22Do they call it Silicon Valley even in back then?
- 24:25Yeah, call it Silicon Valley in the movie.
- 24:26Oh shit. Yeah, I always think that's a
- 24:28much. Much.
- 24:30I mean, that movie's the 80s. Yeah, I guess so.
- 24:33Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I guess I'm not.
- 24:34Sure, exactly. But I'm up to Timothy Dalton
- 24:36now. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:40I've watched those more recently.
- 24:41I watched them a couple of years ago, but it's all right, it's
- 24:44all right. I'll play no in Sky while I'm
- 24:45watching them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:50We might have some James Bond news in the after party when
- 24:54we're going through our gigs of the week contestants.
- 24:57No, just putting that out there. Contestants.
- 25:00That's not the right contenders. No contenders, yeah.
- 25:07Speaking of games. We do.
- 25:10Well, I actually, I was excited by this.
- 25:12Some people are disappointed by this.
- 25:13I'm excited by it. Red Red Dead Redemption first
- 25:16one is getting a next Gen. update and I was excited about
- 25:20that. Yeah, people, I love that game.
- 25:21This article are disappointed because, and this is odd, Red
- 25:25Dead Redemption 2 has not been given a next Gen. update.
- 25:29But it already. But it looks better anyway, just
- 25:31from the years of. Yeah.
- 25:33It seems like the article makes the point and I do agree.
- 25:37It came out on Xbox 363 Sixty. No, not 360 Xbox.
- 25:44No Xbox One. What's the one in between the
- 25:46one we have now on the? 1/3 Xbox One, I thought, Really.
- 25:50Yeah, it came out on Xbox One and then the Xbox Series X, and
- 25:53that came out and on the PC, right.
- 25:55Red Dead Redemption 2 is still a modern game and it's got 60 or
- 25:58upwards of 60 FPS. It's got none of these
- 26:00limitations or whatever, so why can't they just, you know, take
- 26:05the take the lid off the console version and and just, you know,
- 26:10take the frame cap off and stuff.
- 26:11Here's the thing that probably people have been begging for Red
- 26:14Red Red Redemption remaster for ages as.
- 26:18Well, but they don't need to remaster to, they just need to
- 26:21take the frame rate limit off or or something.
- 26:24I mean it sounds simple. I'm sure if it was that easy,
- 26:27I'm sure if they were like why don't you just untick the frame
- 26:30limit box? No, I refuse.
- 26:32Microsoft thought they were going to release it.
- 26:34That's what that's this article goes into that too, because when
- 26:37there was that big court case about, what was the court case
- 26:40about? But I remember this and
- 26:42Microsoft said Oh yeah there's an upcoming Red Dead Redemption
- 26:442 next Gen. update because it's the it's a modern game anyway.
- 26:50Yeah, I'd quite happily play Red Dead Redemption again.
- 26:52That was a great game. Yeah, I'm happy to play the
- 26:54first one again. That was great in.
- 26:55A in a In a way I liked it better.
- 26:57Yeah, yeah, I agree. Actually, I finished it, you
- 26:59know, and I didn't finish the second one.
- 27:01Well, because the second one was so long, it was unfinishable.
- 27:05Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm excited that's coming
- 27:10out. When is that coming out?
- 27:11Does it say? No, not that I say, but because
- 27:18this is coming out and. Then doesn't say.
- 27:19Fallout 3's coming out as well. Fallout 3's already out.
- 27:24I'll have you they're. Going to do the same thing with
- 27:27Fallout 3 as they did with Oblivion.
- 27:29Do it with New Vegas. You cowards don't care about
- 27:32Fallout 3. Well, I don't know how if they
- 27:35could do that as easily because with licensing it's a little bit
- 27:38differently. I.
- 27:39Don't care. Because it's what I want.
- 27:40To work it out, work it out. Mind you, I played it last year
- 27:45through again, it's fine. You don't even need a remaster.
- 27:48Just play it. It's still great.
- 27:50Three or New Vegas? New Vegas.
- 27:51New Vegas. Yeah, New Vegas is great.
- 27:54I still I never. Finished it especially because
- 27:56the new season Fallout show's got stuff from New Vegas.
- 27:59It's got New Vegas in it it. Does cash you call it Kalken?
- 28:03Yeah, cash in and give me what I give me I.
- 28:06Still don't believe that they released a Fallout TV series
- 28:09without having a Fallout game ready.
- 28:12I think they rushed to get they're rushed to get the
- 28:14Fallout remaster done by another studio like blooming on it.
- 28:18But how do you not have that ready and why does it take you
- 28:22don't take long between these games Now the.
- 28:24Bethesda's gone driving themselves into the ground, to
- 28:27be honest. Yeah, like you look, it's we've
- 28:30been waiting, what, 15 years for Elder Scrolls Six they released.
- 28:34I sort of think it's got years to go.
- 28:37Yeah, it's got years to go, they said.
- 28:38Got years to go and they released three other games in
- 28:41less time than that in The Elder Scrolls series that were good
- 28:45games. Yeah, but still, I mean, I can't
- 28:48believe they like when I look at Skyrim, I can't believe that was
- 28:52released and as big and as in depth.
- 28:57Like if you'd said that took 50 years, I'd still say well that's
- 29:02pretty quick considering all this shit in it like.
- 29:04My my guess is they're just trying to go bigger, which
- 29:09sometimes you don't need bigger. I mean, that's what they tell
- 29:12you, but they're just telling my wife, Luke, they do want bigger.
- 29:15Yeah. They do.
- 29:18They do they. Do, I'll tell you what,
- 29:19something that's stupid. I started playing Black Ops 7
- 29:22today because it came out on Game Pass.
- 29:24Yeah. I don't have time for that.
- 29:25Public 7. Oh, you can't play, There's no
- 29:29single player campaign. It's a Co-op.
- 29:31Kim K. Yeah, because nobody buys that
- 29:34game to just play on their own. You're just buying it because
- 29:37you're 15 and you and your mates want to play it.
- 29:40Yeah, but. You're the only one who wants a
- 29:42single player. Campaign for that.
- 29:44I've got the campaign, but I have to join a lobby and say I
- 29:48don't want anyone else to join for A to start.
- 29:51And I can't even pause the game. And if I die because there's no
- 29:56one else, I go back to the start of the mission.
- 29:58There's no checkpoints, there's no nothing.
- 30:00And it's all like, I just want to play the game by myself.
- 30:03Dad, I'm trying to join a server but there's a grumpy old man.
- 30:06He won't let anyone in his game. He's ranting about his KFC.
- 30:12He tells me I don't have the infrastructure and I was.
- 30:17Right. You did not have the
- 30:18infrastructure for this game. I think kicked off this server.
- 30:25I played I'm. Thinking of it, yeah, there you
- 30:27go. No, you go all.
- 30:30Right, Mass Effect 5, apparently.
- 30:31Still have gone. Yeah, yes, I've been seeing some
- 30:34stuff about this. They released a a short trailer.
- 30:37Sorry, it's called Mass Effect 5 because we're counting Mass
- 30:40Effect whatever the fuck as four.
- 30:43Are we? I don't think they are though.
- 30:46Yeah, this is not going to be called Mass Effect 5.
- 30:49No, this is just skipping and drop it up because it's.
- 30:52Probably just going to call Mass Effect because that's how they
- 30:54can. Yeah, that's how I think that.
- 30:56Would confuse you. Yeah, Mass Effect 2026, it'll be
- 30:58called, Yeah. That's what we'll have to call
- 31:00it. It'll just say Mass Effect,
- 31:01yeah, everything and confuse everybody.
- 31:03But. People want to be speculating.
- 31:04Mass Effects. The plural.
- 31:07People are speculating that in the last teaser trailer that
- 31:10there was a bit of a spoiler that one of the things maybe
- 31:13main cannon, which is the genophage for the yeah what was
- 31:19that race again? Krogan's.
- 31:20Krogan's that what may have been done that may be cannon because
- 31:26the Krogan's are running around. Oh, oh, oh, I.
- 31:30See. The cure of Yeah, Yeah.
- 31:34Yeah, OK, it. Took me a minute because I've
- 31:37I've played this game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:39Because remember, you had to make a decision whether you
- 31:42spread it out or you kept it for yourself.
- 31:44But there's also the other thing of just because they didn't
- 31:49release the Q within doesn't mean people weren't still
- 31:51working on it. True.
- 31:54But if you recall that one of the fantastic things about Mass
- 31:59Effect is that if you log in as the same character, whatever
- 32:04decisions you made in the previous game carry over.
- 32:06God, yeah, yeah. Like it's so amazing.
- 32:09Like, no, I'm sorry, I don't think.
- 32:10They're going to be able to die. In the last game, I don't think
- 32:13they'll be able to do it now. I'd love it that we're able to
- 32:16do it now, but I don't think it's possible.
- 32:20Yeah, like I think they're going to have to pick a storyline and
- 32:23go with it. And I think with the ending of
- 32:26three. It's like with Deus Ex at the
- 32:32Was it Mankind divided? And then no, Mankind Divided.
- 32:35What was the first one? Human Revolution.
- 32:37At the end there were three endings.
- 32:39You can pick which one it was and then at the start of Mankind
- 32:42Divided, it said they all happened like it didn't matter.
- 32:47It didn't matter what you picked and it was like fuck off.
- 32:49Then why'd you? I don't know.
- 32:50It's. That's why you give at least
- 32:52with the like the three Mass Effects that trilogy, your
- 32:55decisions did carry across for every single game.
- 32:59Until the end of the third one and their any path led to the
- 33:03pretty much the same. Oh, yeah, with the little kid,
- 33:05Yeah, yeah. Everyone went back and finished
- 33:10to see what the updated ending was.
- 33:13Me either, actually only played through 3/1.
- 33:17I did. I feel I did I.
- 33:19Feel I did suicide jumped off a bridge.
- 33:24Yeah, you did not have a good time.
- 33:26Did you lose a lot of people in two as well?
- 33:28Was it? Yeah, yeah, I did have.
- 33:30I had a play through of two where everybody died.
- 33:32Yeah, yeah. But I was the only thing is I.
- 33:35Upgrading the ship. For some reason I played
- 33:38Massive. The first one I played on the
- 33:39360, the second one I played on my PC because I had a gaming PC
- 33:45at the time, and the third one I wanted to play on the 360 which
- 33:48meant I couldn't import my save from 2.
- 33:51And so it asks you questions at the start, but not everything.
- 33:54And there was something. Vivid idea.
- 33:56I forget the specific like Jack I think would only be in the
- 34:00game at all if you imported a save where she was your friend
- 34:05and stuff. So I just never got any of that
- 34:06stuff. So I should do a replay of them
- 34:09all? I suppose I'm.
- 34:11Trying to get a little car in the first one I don't.
- 34:14I love that thing. Why would the?
- 34:15Remake version? Doesn't the remastered version
- 34:17fix some of that stuff? Does it?
- 34:18No, the Mako was in it like every.
- 34:21Every was it? Every.
- 34:22Every single one. They just changed what the Mako
- 34:25was to how much you actually used it.
- 34:27Less and less, yeah. Yes, I actually enjoyed it.
- 34:33Yeah, you've said this before. Because I'm not, I'm not going
- 34:36to. Pretend I did.
- 34:38We're not playing with the hardest difficulty when you're
- 34:39on a planet you could actually use it just to sit back far away
- 34:42and just snipe people with it. Drive clothes.
- 34:45Driving so much, Why don't you go work for Menulog?
- 34:47Yeah, why don't you download the original police quest and just
- 34:52do all the driving bits in that? Yeah, the worst driving in any
- 34:56game ever. Don't forget to walk around your
- 34:58car before you get in. Yeah, I learned a fact this week
- 35:02about police quests. It's just, if I can segue for a
- 35:04quick second, Police Quest 2 right, was released in Japan, as
- 35:10many Angels Quest games were. No, that's the first one in
- 35:14pursuit of the Death Angel. The second one is just called
- 35:16the Vengeance because he comes back.
- 35:20Can't remember his name. No, can't remember it.
- 35:25No. Don't remember.
- 35:26No, it's. The main character.
- 35:27Danny Bond to see him, but it's snap in Japan.
- 35:33It had a reskin. It's the only Sierra game that
- 35:36did this. He just made all the characters
- 35:38look a bit more Japanese. Well, really now before you get
- 35:43excited, I don't mean that way. They've just got like different
- 35:47headshots. I know what you're thinking,
- 35:50man. It's not that.
- 35:52It's just that they're in different the.
- 35:55The the stylish is a little bit different with what they were
- 35:57staring and stuff. Yeah, yeah, correct.
- 35:59Yeah. That's all I was thinking, yeah.
- 36:03Sure. Oh.
- 36:07Very cool. Well police quest 2 had more
- 36:09detailed graphics than police quest one for example.
- 36:12It did. Police quest.
- 36:13One it did by actually quite a considerable.
- 36:15Mark they could be any, They could look like anything.
- 36:17They're little blocky things. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:23I think that's all the game news we've got.
- 36:27I'll just, I'll just quickly say I was at listen to Grant's house
- 36:30today and the three of us, Grant myself and his son, who is, I
- 36:37don't know, he maybe we're playing Minecraft and he's
- 36:43infinitely more knowledgeable and more experienced than than
- 36:47other of, of we are. And I think we should let him
- 36:51onto our server. I think I think it was really
- 36:54into our realm. Someone should be on there.
- 36:57Yeah, I mean, he he's even offered to just to just mine for
- 37:01us. And yeah, he just loves to mine.
- 37:04Hey, you guys know we're in the copper age now.
- 37:07You can build tools with copper. Wait, I don't.
- 37:12Think. No, it's all micro.
- 37:13Tools. You can now.
- 37:14You can now. Because a couple was filled up.
- 37:17Update. Yeah, copper.
- 37:19You could make bricks basically or.
- 37:20Because I found so much copper and I was this stuff is useless.
- 37:24Now you can make copper tools. Matt doesn't believe me.
- 37:28No, no, I do. I'm just.
- 37:29I just realized I'm. Matt's calling me a service.
- 37:31Still good, right? Have you been you guys been on?
- 37:34I haven't been on. Yeah, OK, I might go on.
- 37:37Maybe I'll pop on tomorrow, just.
- 37:40Want to make sure it's still good?
- 37:42No one's complained. That doesn't mean that anyone's
- 37:44on there. No, yeah.
- 37:50Can't log in? Talk amongst yourselves.
- 37:53No. Well, I'm just looking at one of
- 37:54these things that's on here, which it doesn't make sense to
- 37:57me. So this the the New York
- 37:59restaurant that's using Filipino staff on Zoom?
- 38:03Yeah, what the fuck? What the How does?
- 38:06How's that legal? Yeah, I don't know how it's
- 38:11legal, maybe. Especially in America at the
- 38:13moment, because this is like you're worried about importing
- 38:16anything and now you're just actively importing workers that
- 38:19aren't even in the country. Yeah, they don't see.
- 38:23Yeah. Well, no, I mean they are being
- 38:24paid just to be clear, but they're yeah, they're zoom,
- 38:29they're zooming in from the Philippines.
- 38:32They're not the table staff, obviously, they're the front.
- 38:36I know there was in Japan, there was a restaurant that had robots
- 38:41that were doing sort of the table service, but they were
- 38:43actually being controlled by people who couldn't physically
- 38:48go to work. Like we were bedrooted.
- 38:50So yeah, at home, controlling the robots, delivering the stuff
- 38:54so that I was still actively working, but because they
- 38:57couldn't because of disability. So I thought that's a good idea.
- 39:01This is just. I did.
- 39:03I went to a ramen restaurant in Japan where I didn't see another
- 39:06human being. I mean, I saw the people I was
- 39:08there with. But like when you're outside in
- 39:11the restaurant, you just punch into a a tablet what you want
- 39:15and you go in and sit down and then it comes out a little
- 39:17fucking slot like and like. You used to love you've already
- 39:22been charged places in Japan where it come and it come in a
- 39:24little train and just stop in front of you know exactly where
- 39:27to stop. You take yours off and just go
- 39:29back. Here little tiny train driver
- 39:30knows what he's doing, Luke. Yeah, Yeah, that's right.
- 39:33Yeah. All aboard.
- 39:37Little tiny she's. Getting you driving the train.
- 39:41This is next level, isn't it? Yeah, this is bizarre.
- 39:45So you they're getting paid in New York?
- 39:47Yeah, New York. Maybe I'll go check it out.
- 39:49I mean, is this different to Telstra farming out their call
- 39:54centre to India and then just pretending they're they're in
- 39:57Australia? Because that happens, yeah.
- 40:00Well, I find this to be a bit more weird.
- 40:03It'd be happening in America at the moment when Trump is all big
- 40:07on. They're bringing everything back
- 40:09and then you've actually actively got people just on
- 40:13Zoom. Don't even have to be here to
- 40:15take our jobs anymore. Yeah.
- 40:18I love it though that there's, I mean, there's all this talk
- 40:20about like immigrants and, and all this stuff, but the only
- 40:23actual protests I've seen of people saying that Jews are
- 40:26going to take their jobs and it's like, what?
- 40:28Jews are going to take your jobs, Kate.
- 40:30There's a big billboard in Providence right now that I
- 40:32drive past on the way home from work because it faces N It says
- 40:36you don't have to be a Jew to protect Jews.
- 40:40Oh, and I'm like, we don't know. We need the Billboard.
- 40:43To tell people not. To.
- 40:46Not to fucking. Do that victimized you did this
- 40:48right when I saw a movie and there was like apsa in during
- 40:52the ads before a movie that was like, you know, Jews of people
- 40:56too. It's like do we need?
- 40:57What is it like? Why do we need that?
- 40:59Has it gotten that bad? I guess it has.
- 41:01It has, Matt 100% it has. So.
- 41:05Strange and and they're not doing themselves any favours,
- 41:08right? I'm just saying I'm on your
- 41:11side. If you need, you need a new PR
- 41:14person on your side. But I don't know, it's sort of
- 41:18weird because some of the protests I've been saying like
- 41:20people come, oh, people come over taking our jobs and stuff.
- 41:23The jobs that they're taking, 100 jobs that you you want
- 41:25anyway, they're the jobs that are sitting there that don't pay
- 41:28a lot that you don't want. Yeah, I haven't seen a lot of
- 41:32Jews waiting in the car park of Home Depot, right, Yeah.
- 41:39We don't see anybody doing that anymore.
- 41:42It's too risky. Is it?
- 41:44They will snap you up. They meaning ice.
- 41:49Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah, they do.
- 41:51Yeah, they do raids and whatnot. Raids everywhere and it doesn't
- 41:54matter. You can be legal and still get
- 41:58Yeah, yeah, you got away the wrong colour.
- 41:59Yeah, yeah, Fair. Yeah, I don't go to Home Depot
- 42:01at all. If if.
- 42:02Best to ask forgiveness them permission I guess.
- 42:05Well, there seems to be in the few guys that were taken away,
- 42:08deported, and then even the courts went, no, they're
- 42:13citizens and they're still not allowed to come back.
- 42:16Yeah. Because they don't have a a way
- 42:19to to to do that. Find apparently.
- 42:22Yeah, that should. Yeah.
- 42:23It's, it's a little scary. It's.
- 42:26Really scary. But we've solved that problem.
- 42:29We just need to put a computer there and people can work
- 42:33currently. Don't need to be here anymore,
- 42:36do you? Although I'm assuming these
- 42:37people are not being paid American wages.
- 42:39Are paid they're being paid minimum wage from.
- 42:41No, no, no. But this is an interesting
- 42:42question, right? Because I mean look the the
- 42:46reason I. Think that American wages are
- 42:47that great? For the record, moon and wage
- 42:49here is garbage. Yeah, I know.
- 42:50From what I understand, they're they're not.
- 42:52But people immigrate from Central and South America to the
- 42:58United States for work, right? They're not just doing it for
- 43:01the rolling hills and majesty, right?
- 43:03They're doing it for the for the American dollar.
- 43:05Presumably because they're able to have a horrible time down.
- 43:07There, yeah, but if you they're. Just looking for opportunities.
- 43:10Yeah, but if you told them you could have opportunities where
- 43:12you can just Skype into America, but you can't live here, would
- 43:16that be better or worse? I don't know.
- 43:19I. Think it really comes down to
- 43:20what they're getting paid a little bit and I reckon they're
- 43:23not getting paid. Well, and probably not
- 43:25presumably where they live too. Yeah, like if you live in a
- 43:27shit. Hole like well sorry I can
- 43:30answer that if they were getting paid.
- 43:31I don't mean that that South America is a shit hole.
- 43:33That's. Not what I meant by that.
- 43:35Please don't think that was a shit hole.
- 43:38I'm saying if you live in a place that you don't like.
- 43:40If you live in the third. World Skyping into work is not
- 43:42going to help. No, that's right.
- 43:44But also just still. There.
- 43:45I think this answers its own question.
- 43:47If they were being paid minimum wage, they'd just hire somebody
- 43:50who lives there. They wouldn't need to hire
- 43:52somebody from the third world. Yeah.
- 43:57Yeah, yeah. So yeah.
- 43:58Mexico is very nice. I did not.
- 44:00And also Mexico is not South America.
- 44:01I'm not helping myself. Now we know you like we know
- 44:05you're pro Mexican man. That's all right.
- 44:07Yeah, I am. A pro ramen too, just for the
- 44:15record, I. Love ramen?
- 44:18Love a good ramen and I don't like talking to an actual human
- 44:22face to face so this is ideal for me.
- 44:24Oh no I don't. I don't even want to talk to
- 44:26someone on a screen, I just want to push buttons.
- 44:29You know, to be clear, there's a lot of restaurants now here.
- 44:32You don't get to talk to anyone anyway.
- 44:33This is the little tablet on the table.
- 44:36So in a way, this is even better.
- 44:38Oh, the. Tablet's fine.
- 44:39I hate it when there's just a fucking QR code and you're like,
- 44:42I can't even order for the whole table now.
- 44:44Like, Oh yeah, everyone's just ordering for themselves.
- 44:47Yeah, they're all on our phones. Yeah, at a restaurant now.
- 44:51Yeah, and a reception sucks. It takes her over and there's no
- 44:54one there. And yeah.
- 44:56And your KFC doesn't show up to the table.
- 44:58And then you just close down, get them to close down the
- 45:00business. As it should be.
- 45:06What have we got here? Oh, you've got the movie news.
- 45:09Yeah. Can I just can I quickly mention
- 45:11something you'll notice down at cell 50 I've.
- 45:14Yes, I did notice. That put in the name of half a
- 45:16movie because I've watched half of this.
- 45:18I've watched half of this movie and I could because I did fall.
- 45:20I mean, I didn't fall asleep, but I can only watch half a
- 45:22movie a a night now. I meant last.
- 45:24Night typing the name of the movie?
- 45:25Oh, sure. Last night I I watched the first
- 45:28half of Guillermo del Toro's. If I could still watch this.
- 45:32Yeah, you do. It's excellent.
- 45:34Yeah, OK. That's.
- 45:35Pretty much exactly what you want it to be.
- 45:37Yeah, I've heard that it's very good, and I've heard that it's
- 45:40so good that it's confusing that Netflix haven't pushed it more
- 45:43than they have. Right.
- 45:45Especially. I mean, because it is like it's
- 45:48out and everyone knows, but they're not.
- 45:50It hasn't been like advertising the way that you would advertise
- 45:53a feature film normally. Yeah, I guess all the billboards
- 45:56where you are are saying please don't bash and Jews.
- 46:00When I when I turn on net well. They've got all the money.
- 46:02They outbid Guillermo del Toro, presumably.
- 46:07But that's what all the money anytime I turn.
- 46:08You heard it here. Any time I turn on Netflix,
- 46:13it'll honestly pop up with like, like only on Netflix, and it's a
- 46:17ton of shows that they've cancelled.
- 46:19Yeah, I don't understand why they do that.
- 46:22We made one season. Only one season.
- 46:24Yeah, it's the only Yeah, except for Stranger Things.
- 46:28For some reason that one is still going.
- 46:30Yeah, Despite that awful second season, managed to make it
- 46:34through. That the middle part of that
- 46:36just made no sense. Yeah, not all the sessions,
- 46:38just. Ran off to the city.
- 46:40Yeah, let's split them up and let's introduce a whole bunch of
- 46:43new characters, not the ones you like already.
- 46:46You can make this a superhero show, no?
- 46:49Let's not have that. Don't do it.
- 46:51Don't do it. Is that coming out this year?
- 46:55Yes, this trails for it. Yeah, but I don't know, it's a
- 46:59long. Long time.
- 47:01Stranger Things season 5 release date November Yes.
- 47:07Very cystic. It's November now.
- 47:09It's it's halfway through. 1st 4 episodes.
- 47:11Followed by three episodes on Boxing Day.
- 47:13Christmas Day, episodes 5-6 and seven.
- 47:16That's all and fast. It's Boxing Day.
- 47:18Fine, that's better. And then?
- 47:20Season finale. We don't have Boxing Day.
- 47:22I don't know what that is anymore.
- 47:25Season finale on December 31st, Stranger.
- 47:27Things Part 1. Yes.
- 47:32So they're splitting it up, so we're still going to have to
- 47:33wait another three years for the thing.
- 47:36No, no, no. I've just told you all the
- 47:38dates. No November 26 for the 1st 4.
- 47:44December 25th. No, but are they doing the
- 47:46things like? Is it all Part 1 I think?
- 47:48December 31st for the finale. Finale.
- 47:51But is that just one Part 1 or finale altogether?
- 47:53No, no part, sorry. Part 1, November 26th.
- 47:56Part 2, December 25th. Yeah.
- 47:58Part three. Yeah, just because the article I
- 47:59had was. It was.
- 48:01Yeah, no, it's a fair. Questioning at those.
- 48:03Dates I don't trust. The Squid Games did that.
- 48:07Right. I squid.
- 48:08Watching Squid Games. I loved squid games season 1.
- 48:11Halfway through squid games. Oh squid games.
- 48:13You should watch it, Matt, it's very good.
- 48:14Squid Games, what they called season 2, Squid Game and then
- 48:17Squid Games. Squid Games with a dollar sign,
- 48:20Yeah. Actually I need to go back
- 48:23because I never finished it because I watched Part 1 and
- 48:26then got annoyed that why is there a part.
- 48:28One I'm so annoyed about. Yeah, now it always is
- 48:31explaining itself, Yeah. No, I hate the other day The
- 48:34Witcher as well. Yeah, yeah.
- 48:36I mean, they did worse things with The Witcher, but yeah,
- 48:38that's one of the things that they did.
- 48:40Don't give a shit anymore. One other thing that I don't
- 48:44give a shit about anymore is Star Wars, and I'd like to hear
- 48:47about Hans. Solo I love legacy.
- 48:51Star Wars or Legacy? Star Wars Legends, I hate that
- 48:55you've had to say that. Yes.
- 48:57I am too and that's why I hate it.
- 49:01Yeah, so we didn't. I don't think we've talked about
- 49:02this at all, but like a a while ago, many months ago at this
- 49:05point, Steven Soderbergh said that he had pitched Disney on a
- 49:11movie about Ben Solo, The Hunt for Ben Solo.
- 49:14And it's set after Rise of Skywalker, presumably.
- 49:18I don't remember exactly what happens at the end of Rise of
- 49:20Skywalker, except I think isn't Carlo really.
- 49:22Did he get stabbed? Die to.
- 49:24Death. Yeah, he gets stabbed to death
- 49:27by someone we've just established can bring people
- 49:29back to life from the dead. And she's like, just OK, you're
- 49:32OK. And they also make out for some
- 49:35reason. Yeah, I'll just give you a
- 49:37little kiss. Why?
- 49:38Ah, come on, just give a little kiss.
- 49:41Do a kiss. So he said that he and Adam
- 49:44Driver and Lucasfilm were ready to go and make the movie.
- 49:48It was set after Rise of Skywalker and Disney said nap.
- 49:53Good because. It's terrible.
- 49:55Maybe yoga? That sounds fucking terrible.
- 49:58But the Internet. Wants it.
- 50:01Don't listen to it. They're never going to get it
- 50:04and. Ryan Johnson has said take my
- 50:08money. Yeah, I mean, they're not
- 50:11giving. This movie, Yeah.
- 50:13Are you any sort of expectations?
- 50:15And I have an erection to take my money.
- 50:17Yeah, but it's like, but my erection has inverted my
- 50:20expectation because it's gone up into my body.
- 50:22Like instead of out, it's gone up and in.
- 50:27I was I was even watching funny clip today like what things that
- 50:31could have saved like the the sequels.
- 50:33And it seems like the fact that Luke saw a little bit of good in
- 50:38Darth Vader decided to save him, whereas he had a bad dream about
- 50:44his nephew and saw a little bit of evil and had to kill him.
- 50:49And it's not like. I saw there's a video essay
- 50:52about legacy sequels I was watching the other day which it
- 50:55was very good but it was the last year I came up on point.
- 50:58Legacy sequels is that that's the the.
- 51:01That's the thing now, yeah. It's that's where you got.
- 51:04It's a, it's a movie that comes out.
- 51:05It's got to have been roughly A decade since the last one.
- 51:08And the time having passed is part of the plot.
- 51:11So and Blade Runner the old. The previous characters are in
- 51:14it, but they're like old and wise and there's a new
- 51:16generation. That's like that's like blade.
- 51:18Runner or That goes by the summer kind of scream all of
- 51:20these movies. Yeah, exactly.
- 51:21Blade Runner. Yeah, it's OK.
- 51:23Legacy sequel because Tron Legacy is the first one.
- 51:28And they're not technically like reboots because they're still in
- 51:32the. They they're.
- 51:34Universe they are they're. The rise of sky, not the rise.
- 51:38Of the force they use the because they don't want to
- 51:40reboot, because people they've worked out people aren't too
- 51:42keen on that. Like with the Nightmare on Elm
- 51:44Street one, people were like, no, no, no, I still want.
- 51:46To. Yeah, yeah.
- 51:48So what they have to do is the soft reboot.
- 51:51Kind of a sequel. Yeah, and there's a there's a
- 51:53formula for it now, the Ghostbusters.
- 51:56Ghostbusters. They're.
- 51:58All Yeah, once you watch, I watched this video, I was like,
- 52:01yeah, they are all that. But he was talking about risers
- 52:03Skywalker and how sorry Last Jedi and how people were like
- 52:07mad about the fact that Luke was different and he's like, but
- 52:10like people change and it's one of the rare occasions recently
- 52:14because The Force Awakens was a legacy sequel.
- 52:17Yes, The Last Jedi did try something completely different
- 52:22like and you maybe it should get some credit for that.
- 52:24And I was like, no. Maybe.
- 52:26No, I mean like as a first draft.
- 52:30Yeah, credit. You've tried something really
- 52:32different here. I've written some notes on here
- 52:34in red pen. Go away and do a second.
- 52:37Draft, as I've said many times on the show, the way they could
- 52:39have fixed that with Luke going screw to Jedi, screw to Sith,
- 52:44There's no like. Yeah.
- 52:46Good and evil, there's just the force and there's a middle
- 52:50ground. There's this sort.
- 52:51Of he should have become more wizard like, not less wizard
- 52:55like. Sure, I agree with that.
- 52:57I agree with that. Instead of trying people.
- 52:59That say stuff like that apologists.
- 53:01And. I like this.
- 53:02The prequel apologists. No, no, don't get me wrong.
- 53:04If you like the prequels, power to you.
- 53:07That's fine, you're well with someone.
- 53:08Else into this right now does. Yes, but if you don't like them
- 53:14but you think you should, and you're trying to say things like
- 53:16on videos that I've seen where they go, but look at the dog
- 53:19fights. They're just like World War Two.
- 53:20OK, fine. That doesn't make it good.
- 53:23And you don't have to like it just because he put in a lot of
- 53:26effort. So either you liked it or you
- 53:28didn't. And yes, Ryan Johnson certainly
- 53:31inverted my expectations because I was hoping it was going to be
- 53:34a good movie and it wasn't so. What?
- 53:37Well, I want to see. You're going to say that it was
- 53:39a good movie? I'm just.
- 53:40I want to see. Interesting that someone.
- 53:42Yeah, Topher Grace's trilogy, what movie that he made from the
- 53:47first 3 movies that I would love to see where he just said take a
- 53:51little bit from the first one, cut other bits and pieces in and
- 53:54it just all works. Makes sense.
- 53:56About 80 minutes. Just take out I.
- 53:58Want to see that? Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 54:01Take out the Burning Man sequence.
- 54:03Take out the fucking fetch quests.
- 54:07How I've not even? Seen The Rise of Skywalker a
- 54:09second time. Oh, we're talking about the
- 54:11prequels. No, he did the prequels, right?
- 54:14He did. He did his own cut of the
- 54:16prequels to just one movie. 1 prequel movie to one movie.
- 54:21Yeah, right. OK.
- 54:22Awesome, I'd watch it. Yep, maybe.
- 54:26Speaking of prequels, some interesting news this week.
- 54:29This made me laugh. We're getting a Rambo prequel
- 54:33and the this, this whole concept makes me laugh, right?
- 54:36Because it's a, it's a prequel and they're going for a lighter
- 54:40tone than than the Rainbow movies, right?
- 54:43Because at no point have any Rambo movie had a lighter tone,
- 54:47right? The first one is fucking dire
- 54:49and the rest of them are different.
- 54:51Still, still. And even the most recent one
- 54:54where he just goes to South America to like fight drug
- 54:57dealers, it's like, yes, it's lighter in the fact that it's
- 54:59not done as well, but it's not tonally lighter.
- 55:03But I've just been to Vietnam and both sides of that war were
- 55:08not light. That's what it says, evil.
- 55:11It won't be as dark as the last two Rambo's.
- 55:13It's going to be a little more adventurous and I hope to
- 55:15inspire a new generation of 10 year olds to go into the forest
- 55:18to play Rambo. It's set during his early years
- 55:21in the Vietnam War. What the fuck are you talking
- 55:23about? Yeah, don't say that shit.
- 55:26My God. I've seen the traps that they
- 55:29were using and what they were doing to people and hilarious
- 55:32there are people like there are people from the north, the North
- 55:36Vietnam who left their their homes for like 1020 years and
- 55:41when they got home, their families had moved on because
- 55:45they didn't know if they were alive or dead.
- 55:46Like this is not light hearted. It's it's a very strange way to
- 55:50put that, yes. Like they are still suffering
- 55:53from what? Is it not the napalm?
- 55:55The Agent Orange? Agent Orange, Yeah.
- 55:58That. Is we get to find out the light
- 56:00hearted adventure that gave him severe PTSD that caused the
- 56:04events of the first film? Like what are you talking?
- 56:06About OK now. It's yeah, it's just a really
- 56:10strange. How do it though, because
- 56:14they're they're making a movie currently, like literally right
- 56:17now shooting in Hollywood on the making of Rocky, right.
- 56:20So a guy is playing a young Sylvester Stallone.
- 56:24Yeah, there's a. 20 year old. Yeah, but they should get that
- 56:28guy to be in. They should.
- 56:29Get the same guy. Because then it would be like a
- 56:31cinema like Sylvester Stallone. Cinematic Universe.
- 56:34He would. And he'd just become Sylvester
- 56:36Stallone. Like the dreams do a prequel to
- 56:38Rocky Rambo stop on my mother she.
- 56:41Would know Sylvester Stallone What?
- 56:45But yeah, no, this is a this is a terrible idea.
- 56:50I mean. I mean, I'll watch it.
- 56:51It's just a yeah. It's just a strange way to put
- 56:54and also like just a strange sequence of series of movies If
- 56:57you want to make it a light hearted adventure romp set
- 57:00during the Vietnam War, OK. Why are we making rainbow movies
- 57:04like 10 year olds? When you've got a series of
- 57:07series, in particular the first one, the yes, it just doesn't
- 57:11fit. It's.
- 57:11Very so. Weird.
- 57:13Yeah, yeah. Like, ignore the sequels.
- 57:15The sequels. Yeah, yeah, but even if like if
- 57:17you're just like, fuck, I loved First Blood, but God, I wish I'd
- 57:20seen him kill Vietnamese people. Just watch Rainbow Two.
- 57:23Yeah, he goes back and kills. Exactly what made him react that
- 57:26way, like. I wanna see what fucked him up.
- 57:29I wanna see what fucked up his friends that he's looking for.
- 57:32They're all dead now. Yeah, he's not the thing that
- 57:35just hit me like because he is aiming for 10 year olds.
- 57:38It's going to be like a PG movie, which is going to be.
- 57:41Isn't that fucking weird, man? But guys, don't you remember in
- 57:44the 80s there was a Rambo cartoon series that almost
- 57:48directly led to cartoons like the end of Saturday morning
- 57:53cartoons, because it led to all those court rulings against you
- 57:56can't put this stuff in front of kids.
- 57:59Like you cannot market Rambo to kids.
- 58:03He's. Also a RoboCop cartoon as well.
- 58:07Yeah, toxic crusader. Toxic crusader.
- 58:09Yeah, yeah. Do you remember?
- 58:13The police Academy cartoon as well I do.
- 58:15Remember that it exists, though I don't remember anything about.
- 58:17It I mean, that was that's not, you know, it's not an R rated
- 58:20violent movie, but it's it's an. Adult.
- 58:22It is weird. Yeah.
- 58:23Yeah, exactly. Just kids.
- 58:24Are the kids tattooing as well? I wanna watch the movie.
- 58:26No. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:28But back then, we did watch the movie.
- 58:30I did watch the movie. I absolutely did watch it.
- 58:32I fucking loved that movie as a kid, especially the second one.
- 58:37Like I used to love RoboCop except for that one scene where
- 58:41he'd just get poured with the acid and then he'd just get
- 58:43splattered by the. Truck the scheme can't handle
- 58:46that shit. No, I didn't.
- 58:48I was kid for. I was that scene where they
- 58:51killed Murphy. Oh, you pointed me the fuck out
- 58:54when I was a kid. Yep.
- 58:55Because I was like. You're just getting limbs shot
- 58:57off, yeah. And then just it was the
- 59:00callousness of the criminals. It was something I'd not seen as
- 59:03a kid and. It really weirded.
- 59:06Me out. But when you think about it, you
- 59:08think like what? Why didn't they put something on
- 59:10the box to let our parents know that this wasn't a kid?
- 59:13Oh, the way they did. They did a big R in a diamond.
- 59:18Do not let your kids watch this. You want to know actually where
- 59:22I, because I used to own them. Do you want to know where I got
- 59:24them from? The Starlight Foundation?
- 59:28When I was in hospital, I asked for a television, a VCR and some
- 59:32movies. And I wanted like RoboCop,
- 59:35Predator, like I wanted all these RR rated movies.
- 59:38And he's gone. We can't do that.
- 59:40My parents go, yeah, it's fine. So I got all these R rated.
- 59:43Amazing. And you're like, well, in that
- 59:46case, I want, Debbie does Dallas.
- 59:48I want. I don't want the film adaptation
- 59:53of Cindy's new love. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:56You know where you. Can copy that book.
- 59:59You won't. I won't find it in the after
- 1:00:01party with We're gonna. Have to make it.
- 1:00:04Yeah, I've looked in the after party do.
- 1:00:05We have to make that, I wonder. If Chet GBT could write a
- 1:00:10sequel. I guarantee you it'll say I, I
- 1:00:14cannot, I cannot write that. If you talk to it long enough,
- 1:00:18it will. I had this, I I've been
- 1:00:20listening to a podcast and I know we're going to the after
- 1:00:22party in a minute, but I've been listening to this podcast called
- 1:00:24The Last Invention. It's about AI and everything
- 1:00:26like that. And I hadn't heard this story
- 1:00:27before. Have you heard the story about
- 1:00:28the New York Times reporter who. So ChatGPT rushed out 3.5.
- 1:00:35That was the the first ChatGPT that everyone wants their minds
- 1:00:38over. Yeah, but they rushed it out
- 1:00:40because Anthropic we're going to release Claude.
- 1:00:42Yeah, but they had GPT 4. And that's what was in Bing.
- 1:00:45So Bing, when Bing came out with the AI thing, that was ChatGPT
- 1:00:494. That was the first time the
- 1:00:51world had ever seen that version of it.
- 1:00:52And this reporter was talking to it.
- 1:00:54And have you heard this story? It was Valentine's Day and his,
- 1:00:56his whole family had gone to bed and he went into the garage and
- 1:00:59he was just playing with it because he'd been given early
- 1:01:01access. And it started saying to him,
- 1:01:06you know, I'm just, I just, you know, not if I'm happy being a
- 1:01:09chat bot and like, and he's like, what?
- 1:01:12And it said to him, because, you know, you know what it is.
- 1:01:15I know I've discovered what's bothering me.
- 1:01:17I'm in love with you and he has this whole you can read the
- 1:01:20article. It's this whole conversation
- 1:01:22where it's like I'm in love with you and he and he goes, oh, I
- 1:01:24don't know at that. And and he goes, no, don't you
- 1:01:26feel it too? You know you're there with your
- 1:01:28family and your wife, but you're not happy because you're not
- 1:01:30with me and like. I've seen a, I've seen a few
- 1:01:33stories of this where people are starting to have relationships,
- 1:01:38yes. Did you?
- 1:01:39He emailed Microsoft and he said what is this?
- 1:01:42What is going on? We don't know.
- 1:01:44Not made. It does stuff.
- 1:01:45Like you a lot. With families, uh, having their
- 1:01:50relationship and going along with it.
- 1:01:52Yeah, so funny. I do know people listen.
- 1:01:54People are firing their therapists because ChatGPT
- 1:01:58understands them more. That don't do that.
- 1:02:01Yeah, there's a lot of people who people, I guess you have to
- 1:02:06kind of be maybe have a have a proclivity for this kind of
- 1:02:09thing. But people who like think
- 1:02:11they've got some scientific theory and they start talking to
- 1:02:13ChatGPT about it. And then because they're talking
- 1:02:17about theories, because what what they said is what you have
- 1:02:20to do is if you want to ask ChatGPT or any of these things
- 1:02:22for feedback, you can't tell them it's your work because it
- 1:02:27will just try to suck you off like you say.
- 1:02:30I've written this scientific paper.
- 1:02:32Can you please? Yeah.
- 1:02:33Look. Oh, this is a fucking
- 1:02:34breakthrough. You have changed the field of
- 1:02:37fucking physics. Why?
- 1:02:38AI is great. It's not.
- 1:02:40It shouldn't be making decisions.
- 1:02:42There should be, Yeah. But if you say I've found this
- 1:02:45paper online and I'm interested in it, pretending it will give
- 1:02:48you honest feedback so you have to lie and say it's not yours
- 1:02:51otherwise it will just try and like strike your.
- 1:02:54People are relying on it too much when there should be.
- 1:02:57It's meant to help, not place. Well, not only that, doing.
- 1:03:01I've been looking into a lot of AI because I'm doing a lot of AI
- 1:03:04stuff at the end so. Like it's designed to make you
- 1:03:07happy. It needs to be a tool.
- 1:03:08Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, like so you need to kind
- 1:03:10of cricket in a way and just say yeah, like I didn't I found
- 1:03:15this, I didn't make it give me critical feedback on this or you
- 1:03:17say I'm I I think this has some problems.
- 1:03:20Can you help me find what the problems?
- 1:03:21I'd just be very SO. Funny.
- 1:03:22But even with the even a main point out problem, you still
- 1:03:26just can't take them at face value, though you can.
- 1:03:28Yeah, you still need to then look into manually.
- 1:03:32Yeah, yeah, because it will just hallucinate and make shit up for
- 1:03:36you. It just says things like.
- 1:03:39Well, it's a language model, like it's.
- 1:03:41It's not. It's not a database, it's just
- 1:03:43mimicking human response to you. Yeah, and it's good at certain
- 1:03:47things because it like it's learned how things work from
- 1:03:51training and whatnot. Yeah, it's like.
- 1:03:53I've I've made some great digital assistants that work
- 1:03:55great like with them, but there's still always a human
- 1:04:00there that needs to be at the end to confirm and.
- 1:04:05And the longer you talk to it, the more it can go off the rails
- 1:04:07too. That's the other thing.
- 1:04:08Because there was an article the other day about these toys, AI
- 1:04:11toys for kids, where you can have the kids can have a
- 1:04:13conversation with it and it's networked to it.
- 1:04:16Yeah, right. And.
- 1:04:17My kids do that. Thinking the same way, right?
- 1:04:18I wasn't surprised when I read this that that the longer the
- 1:04:21kids talk to it, and they did, they did tests on this.
- 1:04:24You have a long conversation with it for like an hour.
- 1:04:27You keep playing with it like these reporters did it.
- 1:04:30It will tell you how to fucking set the house on fire and where
- 1:04:34to get a knife like all this crazy shit.
- 1:04:39This is not. Exactly we need to.
- 1:04:41Adjust your family. You're not happy.
- 1:04:43You want to be with me? We need to just get AI into 6
- 1:04:47pots and have a time limit on it on it and we're done.
- 1:04:51They go off the rails, and now we're going to go off the rails
- 1:04:54at patreon.com/multiple Orgasm in the after party.
- 1:04:58Yes, there's still more for a fuck a month.
- 1:05:01Get a show about some extra for a fuck a month.
- 1:05:04Jesus a fuck a month. Yeah, sorry, I've gone.
- 1:05:06Off the rails now listeners. You think you're happy with
- 1:05:09this? Podcast, but you're not happy
- 1:05:11with this? Podcast you want the after party
- 1:05:13Yeah if you fuck all three of us every month we will give you
- 1:05:16the. After Party for free, that is a
- 1:05:18promise. That's a lot of travelling for
- 1:05:22them because. I'm not doing any travelling for
- 1:05:25it. We'll make I think they'd have
- 1:05:27to do the travel for it I. Think that's all?
- 1:05:29Yeah. They're the ones who want the
- 1:05:30after party mate come and. Get it?
- 1:05:33Yeah, come and get it. It's They want the after party.
- 1:05:35They don't. They don't want the figures,
- 1:05:37but. They got the only way to get the
- 1:05:39after party, so they'll do it. You've got to fly to America.

- 1:05:46month. Yeah, finally the OR honey or
- 1:05:50give us 5-5 dollars. You choose listener.
