- 1:21Speaker 2: or that grew up. I grew up there, left home
- 1:24Speaker 2: at seventeen. I ain't gonna hold you. None of my
- 1:27Speaker 2: brothers that are none of my day ones is even alive.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So it's just one of them situations where you gotta
- 1:33Speaker 2: if you're trying to make it and what I'm doing,
- 1:36Speaker 2: sometimes you gotta leave, get lit, then come back. So
- 1:40Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, you know we're gonna listen to Bro
- 1:43Speaker 2: because he he making moves and he he foot on
- 1:47Speaker 2: ground and he keeping it the honey with us.
- 1:48Speaker 3: You know. That's basically yeah. But it's.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I guess it's going through a rough patch for a
- 1:55Speaker 2: long time because it really it ain't no like I
- 1:57Speaker 2: don't want to say no money, no jobs, but it
- 2:00Speaker 2: don't got a lot of the uh therapy, therapeutic places
- 2:06Speaker 2: you can go. Like it's not New York, to La
- 2:09Speaker 2: go to l A, go to the beach, put your
- 2:11Speaker 2: toes and it's saying if you're having a bad day,
- 2:13Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying to New York you can
- 2:15Speaker 2: you know, it's just when you're having a bad day
- 2:17Speaker 2: back home, it's like you just want beef with somebody
- 2:20Speaker 2: type ship or you gotta.
- 2:22Speaker 3: What if someone were to visit day and what would
- 2:25Speaker 3: they do?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Oh, hoop, find somewhere to hoop basketball?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, house, go play basketball. That's it.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Like no, no, no, uh no clubs or ll malls
- 2:40Speaker 2: or small got shot up, I got shut down. Now
- 2:43Speaker 2: you gotta go to Columbus and Cincinnati really if you
- 2:45Speaker 2: want to have some safe.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Fun As far as Cleveland from that's far like two and.
- 2:50Speaker 1: A half about Columbus, Yeah, you.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Gotta go to Columbus. Like even when artists come up Ohio,
- 2:56Speaker 2: they go to Columbus or Cincinnati.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Columbus Ohio on the map.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Do you agree, ship, I guess so.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah, he was like the first person that there. You
- 3:08Speaker 2: got Jake and Logan, Paul, they from.
- 3:10Speaker 3: All they are Yeah, they are from Ohio.
- 3:13Speaker 2: So you got them. Holly Berry from Ohio. I did
- 3:17Speaker 2: not know that John Legend from Ohio. You know that
- 3:19Speaker 2: either lebron is from everybody know he's Steph Curry from Ohio.
- 3:26Speaker 4: What do y'all mean Steph Currs from Ohio? I thought
- 3:28Speaker 4: he's from North Carolina.
- 3:29Speaker 2: How you from Ohio and Ohio? I was born and
- 3:32Speaker 2: born and raised and then left and then ship. Dave
- 3:34Speaker 2: Chappelle was raised in Ohio.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Dave Chappelle still lives in Ohio.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I know I used to work at it. That's that's
- 3:39Speaker 2: one of my only like celeb friends I can say.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But you had to get out, you said, yeah, so
- 3:46Speaker 1: where did what did you?
- 3:47Speaker 3: What did you go do? Like go out and do
- 3:49Speaker 3: what I chose?
- 3:50Speaker 2: I knew I had a gift, so I wanted to explore.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It really wasn't like one of ten years ago. Really,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I ain't. We ain't had this like you know, social media,
- 4:01Speaker 2: social content, this type of content where you could you know.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So I left home in like seventeen turning eighteen, moved
- 4:09Speaker 2: to the East Coast. I couldn't afford to live in
- 4:11Speaker 2: New York, so I had some money saved up. I
- 4:14Speaker 2: moved to North Jersey.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Pursue your rap career.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah I'm not a rapper, okay, yeah, artists artists yeah yeah, yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 2: singing rap and write.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, So you don't like to just say.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You don't like to say yeah yeah rapping, Yeah, rapping
- 4:28Speaker 2: is too easy. So like I want to do like
- 4:31Speaker 2: I'm singing my rap lyrics. Really that's kind of but
- 4:33Speaker 2: I'm rapping on this EP that I'm dropping.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So you singing like Usher singing, or you're singing like
- 4:39Speaker 1: Lutha singing.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Or more like a I'm gonna be honest, they say, like,
- 4:44Speaker 2: like a if you mix like a Dale, Sam Smith
- 4:47Speaker 2: and Polo g kind of so like harmony, Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Harmony harmonies.
- 4:52Speaker 4: When I was listening to Gosh Kobe Records, you kind
- 4:55Speaker 4: of remind me a little bit of like J Cole.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Oh the rap, the rap, yeah, then the message.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah, I like you.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I like the videos, the visuals it like I feel
- 5:09Speaker 4: like it like brings your lyrics to life.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I like to because I got a lot of UH.
- 5:15Speaker 2: When I first started making music, I was I ain't
- 5:17Speaker 2: gonna lie. I was younger, so I was trying to
- 5:19Speaker 2: do what everybody else was doing, and bitches and holes
- 5:23Speaker 2: and all that shit. But then when I they like, bro,
- 5:26Speaker 2: you should tell you've been through some shit. You should
- 5:28Speaker 2: tell them like PC of your story, but I'm like,
- 5:31Speaker 2: I don't want that to fall on deaf ears. I
- 5:33Speaker 2: could talk about bitches and holes all day, that's easy,
- 5:36Speaker 2: But then I put out a record talking about some
- 5:38Speaker 2: real shit. So getting the d ms from that song,
- 5:41Speaker 2: fire that beat hard and then getting the d M saying, bro,
- 5:45Speaker 2: this song saved my life. Like I wake up every
- 5:47Speaker 2: day listening to this ship to get my day started.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And what song was this?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Uh Lamar Jackson Witness can't sleep. So it was like
- 5:56Speaker 2: which DM? Which DM?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Feel better? Like this one really feel better? You feel me?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Like like this nigga really just said you know, like
- 6:06Speaker 2: I get all kind of dms now, like they touched
- 6:09Speaker 2: from the heart, Yeah, from the heart versus just you know,
- 6:13Speaker 2: that's a dope beat, you know.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's like what a lot of artists, you know,
- 6:18Speaker 4: you would like a song, but you really like.
- 6:20Speaker 3: The song for the beat.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And I like artists that have people that buy
- 6:24Speaker 2: into you. Yeah, not just the song. I want to hear.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I want to hear more of you because I want
- 6:28Speaker 2: to hear you grow.
- 6:29Speaker 3: We'll be right back with more of the Baller Alert Show.
- 6:37Speaker 4: You're listening to a special edition of the Baller Alert Show.
- 6:40Speaker 3: What's up?
- 6:40Speaker 2: It's your boy ya Lee, and you're now tuned in
- 6:43Speaker 2: to the Baller Alert Show. Where'd your name come from? Yah?
- 6:47Speaker 2: My sister, you know my family, that's your nickname? Really
- 6:50Speaker 2: my real name. I ain't gonna lie, but yeah, so
- 6:53Speaker 2: sensitive my teachers. So this is yeah, yah ya ya, Yeah,
- 6:58Speaker 2: my nickname, y'all Lee? My name, yeah, y'all leave is
- 7:00Speaker 2: your real name. Nah. It ain't on my driver's license,
- 7:02Speaker 2: but my whole life, that's what I've been called. Nobody
- 7:05Speaker 2: calls me my government name except when I get pulled over.
- 7:08Speaker 2: But yeah, man, I just wanted to make music that.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Like I said, that turn up ship is like a wave.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Waves crash. That ship that I do now is like
- 7:18Speaker 2: a lane. Like lanes don't crash, they go on and
- 7:22Speaker 2: then they branch off, you know what I'm saying. So
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to be a lane and not a wave.
- 7:26Speaker 2: What made you want to become an artist? My mom
- 7:30Speaker 2: a gospel singer. My dad rap in the day before
- 7:32Speaker 2: he got locked up. So my mom had like a
- 7:34Speaker 2: basketball scholarship, and then my dad had a football scholarship.
- 7:38Speaker 2: So my senior year in high school, I could have
- 7:40Speaker 2: played football, basketball in college somewhere, but I chose music
- 7:45Speaker 2: again I was young, and then you turned down the scholarship,
- 7:48Speaker 2: uh scholarship for football, but more like financial aid D
- 7:55Speaker 2: two basketball. But what I'm saying is like the high
- 7:59Speaker 2: school I went to, I thought it was going to
- 8:01Speaker 2: be like that in college. I didn't know, Like the
- 8:03Speaker 2: best didn't play at my high school. The the cafeteria
- 8:07Speaker 2: lady's son played because that's the cafeteria lady's son. And
- 8:11Speaker 2: we lost games because this this motherfucker, he asked, but
- 8:15Speaker 2: she you know.
- 8:16Speaker 1: And then it Dayton.
- 8:18Speaker 2: No, I'm not no Dayton, hard body and sports, you
- 8:23Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. But I'm saying, like certain schools
- 8:25Speaker 2: you go to politics. You know what I mean, because
- 8:27Speaker 2: my mom took me out the hood, put me in
- 8:29Speaker 2: an all white school for a couple of years. So
- 8:31Speaker 2: so you're like, why is he Yeah, why is he
- 8:35Speaker 2: playing over my nigga?
- 8:37Speaker 3: Right all?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Every time he get in, he forced a fumble, he
- 8:40Speaker 2: get an interception. Every time he get in, he forced
- 8:43Speaker 2: a fumble, get an interception. But buddy over here is
- 8:46Speaker 2: getting cooked every time. But he to train her son.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So I'm like, bro, if college is about to be
- 8:51Speaker 2: like that, nigga, I ain't about to go to like what.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I don't even like school anyways, and then I gotta
- 8:56Speaker 2: sit back and hope one you know what I mean.
- 8:58Speaker 1: But you went from one part politic to the next
- 9:00Speaker 1: because the industry politics is way crazier.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I disagree.
- 9:05Speaker 2: It depends on what type of music, what type of
- 9:07Speaker 2: message you put out, because can't nobody tell me when
- 9:09Speaker 2: I can get in a game and when I can't.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But also, do you feel like it's how far you
- 9:12Speaker 1: want to.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Go at the end of the day. I feel like.
- 9:18Speaker 2: If you can, if your music is hitting people here,
- 9:22Speaker 2: you're gonna keep to me, You're gonna keep climbing like
- 9:26Speaker 2: I pray a lot if you really listen to my music.
- 9:28Speaker 2: So God been opening up mad doors, like I really like,
- 9:32Speaker 2: not just got a message, but I'm really a foot
- 9:35Speaker 2: on ground type niggas. So if when I pull up
- 9:37Speaker 2: and do a meet and greet at a school, you
- 9:39Speaker 2: can look, you know it's two hundred three hundred kids
- 9:43Speaker 2: popping out. I got white moms DM and me telling
- 9:48Speaker 2: me the twelve year old white daughter missed out because
- 9:51Speaker 2: they took him out of school sick. What school you
- 9:53Speaker 2: pulling up to next because I want my daughter to
- 9:55Speaker 2: want to hoodie or autograph.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So it's like, wow, you know that's dope. And I'm from.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Ohioa segregated where, like a black kid in a white neighborhood.
- 10:03Speaker 3: You you know what I mean, It's still like that.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Hell yeah, Sundowntown's remember one of Georgia.
- 10:08Speaker 4: I know.
- 10:09Speaker 2: The sundowntown is what is over there when when the
- 10:13Speaker 2: sun go down and you and I we can't be around.
- 10:16Speaker 1: That area, be outside.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yeah, Sundowntown.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Look at watch a Lovecraft Country. They have an episode
- 10:22Speaker 1: about sundown, very scary.
- 10:24Speaker 3: It's very white.
- 10:26Speaker 2: White's only water fountain still, but you can drink from it,
- 10:28Speaker 2: but it's you and the wrong you know what I mean?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Like they don't, they don't, they don't, Yeah, they don't play.
- 10:34Speaker 2: And then when the George Floyd shit happened, all the protests,
- 10:38Speaker 2: So I was back home during that, and we had
- 10:41Speaker 2: a lot of white people, older white people speaking up like, look,
- 10:45Speaker 2: I've been wanting to say something. The deed on my
- 10:47Speaker 2: house say, I can sell my house to anybody.
- 10:50Speaker 3: But a colored person. Oh wow.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So if if I if I got to live in
- 10:55Speaker 2: that city, to go to a good school, but you
- 10:58Speaker 2: can't sell your house to us.
- 10:59Speaker 3: How to hell?
- 11:00Speaker 2: We gonna you get what I'm saying. So really that
- 11:03Speaker 2: systemic shit really go hard back, you know, back there
- 11:07Speaker 2: in certain areas.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Hey, so love Lebron.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Do you think do you think that all the stuff
- 11:12Speaker 2: that you had to deal with effects and is the
- 11:15Speaker 2: reason why you are so articulate with your music?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Bro?
- 11:19Speaker 2: I watch my pastor get murdered at eight years old
- 11:21Speaker 2: in church after Bible class.
- 11:23Speaker 3: That's had eight.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I watched two of my friends get murdered in front
- 11:26Speaker 2: of me before high school. I'm talking blood on my shoes.
- 11:28Speaker 2: You'll see it in in a short film. I kind
- 11:31Speaker 2: of try to portray it how it happened. So a
- 11:34Speaker 2: nigga really grew up, like part of my brain grew
- 11:40Speaker 2: up fast. Like man, you play video games, you see
- 11:43Speaker 2: guns kill people, but yes, cool, or you watch it
- 11:45Speaker 2: on TV. But when that shit happened in front of
- 11:47Speaker 2: you too many times, you know what I'm saying, it
- 11:52Speaker 2: it hits you different. So you like you know, you
- 11:55Speaker 2: look at life different, you move different, You don't go certain,
- 11:58Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 11:58Speaker 3: Like you don't play you ple playing a fire, You're
- 12:00Speaker 3: gonna get burnt.
- 12:01Speaker 2: That's why when I really be meeting some of these artists,
- 12:03Speaker 2: they be talking to shit on their records.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Like, Bro, you ain't really been through no shit.
- 12:07Speaker 2: You've probably been in a situation that had your adrenaline going,
- 12:11Speaker 2: but you ain't really being this close, you know what
- 12:14Speaker 2: I'm saying, Like, you ain't been this close enough to
- 12:17Speaker 2: be like, we do this shit to get away from
- 12:19Speaker 2: this shit, not to stay in it.
- 12:21Speaker 3: You feel me?
- 12:22Speaker 1: So, how are you mentally? How do you deal with
- 12:25Speaker 1: living every day?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Shit?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Nigga?
- 12:27Speaker 2: I probably need therapy. The fourth song on the project
- 12:30Speaker 2: called mental health. But at the end of the day,
- 12:32Speaker 2: like that shit really affect your sleep at night, you know.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Like PTSD. I ain't gonna lie.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I ain't know what PTSD was my whole life until
- 12:41Speaker 2: it became a thing. It's just something that I've been
- 12:44Speaker 2: dealing with. So if that's what it is, that's what
- 12:47Speaker 2: it is.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Is the music your therapy?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Hell yeah, okay, the response, the response from the music
- 12:53Speaker 2: is my therapy.
- 12:55Speaker 1: But as far as getting a professional to help you
- 12:57Speaker 1: and guide you through you know, your or your thoughts
- 13:01Speaker 1: and the things that you made, you know, with all
- 13:04Speaker 1: the things that you've been through, are you open to
- 13:07Speaker 1: seeking that type of help.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I know therapy can help me, it's just it's just
- 13:15Speaker 2: hard for me in my mind. I'm gonna try it
- 13:19Speaker 2: one day, please do. But it's hard for me in
- 13:21Speaker 2: my mind to pay somebody that don't understand all the
- 13:27Speaker 2: shit I've been through. Powert on top because after making
- 13:30Speaker 2: it out of Ohio, I had to live out of
- 13:33Speaker 2: my car when it hit rock bottom a couple of times,
- 13:35Speaker 2: living in a room with no windows. So it's like
- 13:38Speaker 2: my grandma was murdered while I was living out of
- 13:39Speaker 2: my car. I didn't get to make that funeral. So
- 13:43Speaker 2: at the end of the day, it's like it's a
- 13:45Speaker 2: lot of shit piled up, and it's like, I don't know.
- 13:50Speaker 3: It's for me. It's hard to.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Just talk to somebody and really believe that they gonna
- 13:56Speaker 2: understand what I'm going through when they ain't been through
- 13:59Speaker 2: nothing of this shit that I've been through or I
- 14:01Speaker 2: had to deal with.
- 14:02Speaker 1: You feel me, I think you'd be surprised if you
- 14:05Speaker 1: just like you're open to it and the followed show
- 14:08Speaker 1: with it, and just if it doesn't work with the
- 14:10Speaker 1: first one, there's many others, and just finding the one
- 14:13Speaker 1: that is best fitting for you. I just think that
- 14:16Speaker 1: the idea that you're open to it is a step.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that is a step. Yeah, and yeah, go get therapy.
- 14:22Speaker 2: If you're listening, we'll be right back. Stay tuned with
- 14:25Speaker 2: more of The Baller Alert Show. You're listening to a
- 14:35Speaker 2: special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 14:37Speaker 3: What's Up? Is your boy? Ali?
- 14:38Speaker 2: And you're now tuned in to The Baller Alert Show.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Are you signed independently? Yeah?
- 14:45Speaker 3: Independent as in is it your situation or yeah? Okay, yes, sir?
- 14:50Speaker 3: All right, So.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Let's talk about this music. So I was looking at
- 14:54Speaker 2: these videos. It's four or five parts for four part chapters,
- 14:58Speaker 2: four chapters, and it's a summary of kind of what
- 15:01Speaker 2: you've been dealing with your life. Yeah, just so you know,
- 15:05Speaker 2: who's this kid that's rapping the lyrics on part one?
- 15:08Speaker 3: That's a little bro. Shout out to twenty eight Suce
- 15:10Speaker 3: you're real little bro.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Nah, okay, because he's wrapping great job I was in
- 15:15Speaker 2: when I was in Irvington, New Jersey. Shout out to Irvington,
- 15:17Speaker 2: shut out the Nork. Shout out to jerseys But when
- 15:21Speaker 2: I was living in Irvington, that's like the worst part
- 15:25Speaker 2: of Jersey.
- 15:25Speaker 3: By the way.
- 15:26Speaker 2: The kid reached out to me in the DMS and
- 15:29Speaker 2: I saw him and his little friend rapping. But I'm like,
- 15:31Speaker 2: they just need a little help. So I did a
- 15:34Speaker 2: verse for him so he was cool, and then we
- 15:37Speaker 2: just followed each other. I never met him, and then
- 15:39Speaker 2: I moved to LA after the pandemic and his family
- 15:42Speaker 2: moved to LA. So I'm like, buddy, followed each other
- 15:44Speaker 2: on Instagram. I'm like, budd, hey been visiting La a lot.
- 15:47Speaker 2: He's like, nah, I live here. After I DM hi,
- 15:49Speaker 2: I'm like where you live? He lived six minutes away. Wow,
- 15:52Speaker 2: that's crazy, right, So I'm like, brod, I need a
- 15:54Speaker 2: favor from you. He's like, yeah, nigga, you look you know,
- 15:57Speaker 2: and he young, like seventeen. Need you to play me
- 16:01Speaker 2: like ten years ago. I need you to learn these
- 16:02Speaker 2: lyrics like it's your song. So then that's why you
- 16:05Speaker 2: see the flashback between me and him, and he kind
- 16:08Speaker 2: of understand it because where he from.
- 16:10Speaker 3: So now you're dope, bro.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I'm definitely you know you're here because we think you're
- 16:16Speaker 2: dope and definitely think that you have a future ahead
- 16:19Speaker 2: of you. Now, what's the plan though, Like, what's what's
- 16:22Speaker 2: your next situation like, what do you what you're planning
- 16:24Speaker 2: to do to do? What are you plan what are
- 16:27Speaker 2: you planning to do? I just can't wait to go
- 16:29Speaker 2: on tour. That's on your by yourself.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Open I don't care who open up. I ain't gonna
- 16:35Speaker 3: say no names. But are you already y'at something in place? Nah?
- 16:39Speaker 2: I thought I did, but I was pulled to the
- 16:42Speaker 2: side and said, and this would hurt. Like you performed
- 16:50Speaker 2: the other day two weeks ago. You killed that shit.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Then the main act came out your show. Your part
- 16:59Speaker 2: of the show was more lit then they part of
- 17:02Speaker 2: the show. So their team is like.
- 17:05Speaker 3: They don't want you to go on on the road,
- 17:07Speaker 3: like you gonna outshine the main.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Act if that's politics though, politics talk about Yeah, but
- 17:15Speaker 2: that shit really hurt, as as the culture as the music,
- 17:19Speaker 2: because I'm out there trying to outshine nobody. I'm there
- 17:22Speaker 2: trying to you're trying to do your thing, trying to
- 17:24Speaker 2: be me saying my message. You feel me because you know,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I asked the crowd because I got a song called
- 17:29Speaker 2: from my grandmother.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I miss you.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I feel like God didn't take away from me, the
- 17:33Speaker 2: world did so a lot of people. I said, Yo,
- 17:36Speaker 2: who in the crowd lost somebody that feel like God
- 17:38Speaker 2: didn't take them away, the world did. So this me
- 17:41Speaker 2: on stage just two hundred people, three hundred people. So
- 17:44Speaker 2: I'm like, who want to share? Because I shared my story.
- 17:47Speaker 2: So Buddy like he raised his hand. I'm like, what happened? Like,
- 17:50Speaker 2: my dad just committed suicide last week, so we like.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Dance on my page.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Wow, so one might So the whole crowd like like
- 17:58Speaker 2: this energy just took over, so they like you hear you,
- 18:02Speaker 2: hear the crowd all like you know, So I'm like,
- 18:05Speaker 2: what's his name? And then Darren all right, we love
- 18:08Speaker 2: we love you Darren on three one two three, We
- 18:10Speaker 2: love you Darren.
- 18:11Speaker 3: So he liked participation.
- 18:12Speaker 2: And then the next one, I'm thinking, somebody gonna say
- 18:15Speaker 2: I lost somebody nine years ago, so that shit hit me.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I can't even look dude in the eye because I'm like,
- 18:20Speaker 2: that's a different type of pain you feel me. And
- 18:22Speaker 2: then the next dude like, my friend overdosed on man
- 18:26Speaker 2: vetanah last week. So then I'm like, man, drop the song, bro,
- 18:32Speaker 2: so we shot out of his friend.
- 18:33Speaker 3: You dropped the song?
- 18:33Speaker 2: I performing the song, Buddy crying this dude crying, a
- 18:37Speaker 2: girl crying, and I'm like I can't look at them
- 18:39Speaker 2: because I'm a fuck around it, you know, I start
- 18:41Speaker 2: thinking about my grandma.
- 18:42Speaker 3: You feel me.
- 18:43Speaker 2: But after the show, like I said, getting them DMS
- 18:46Speaker 2: type shit like bro, like you asking my friend that,
- 18:49Speaker 2: Like I'm like.
- 18:49Speaker 3: You really, Yeah, You're gonna have fans for life. Really yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 2: So And I wasn't even doing it for that. I'm
- 18:55Speaker 2: doing it because I understand, like we all go through shit,
- 18:59Speaker 2: and we going through it, we feel like we're the
- 19:01Speaker 2: only ones on earth going through it. That's just human.
- 19:03Speaker 2: That's just how it be. But when you know somebody
- 19:06Speaker 2: else going through it too, the kind of give you, Like.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Just just hearing your story, man, like you really got
- 19:12Speaker 4: a crazy story, just you know, just just sitting and
- 19:15Speaker 4: having this quick conversation and stuff with you.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I'm like, man, that's crazy.
- 19:19Speaker 4: But now it kind of explains everything with your music
- 19:22Speaker 4: and like just what type of person that you molded
- 19:25Speaker 4: into because you said like you was making the type
- 19:28Speaker 4: of music that you was talking about women and drugs
- 19:31Speaker 4: and stuff like this, and then.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Not drugs, but.
- 19:34Speaker 2: The typical way staying on the couch, turn up bottles,
- 19:38Speaker 2: pop out.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, but yeah, just you know, now everything makes
- 19:43Speaker 4: a lot of sense now when I see what type
- 19:45Speaker 4: of artist you is, like your demeanor everything.
- 19:49Speaker 1: How old are you?
- 19:50Speaker 3: Twenty seven seven?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I would add I would also say I
- 19:55Speaker 2: thought therapy was like for crazy folks, people you know,
- 19:59Speaker 2: ain't don't got it all. But I would like to just
- 20:03Speaker 2: share with you that therapy gave me clarity on a
- 20:06Speaker 2: lot of shit that I was dealing with. It gave
- 20:08Speaker 2: me clarity, and like my past relationships, I realized that
- 20:12Speaker 2: it wasn't them, it was me, and I was immature,
- 20:15Speaker 2: and you know, I wasn't ready for a commitment.
- 20:18Speaker 3: And trauma type shit. Yeah, it was like trauma.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Like I never saw a committed relationship growing up, so
- 20:23Speaker 2: like I was just reacting what I was, just acting
- 20:27Speaker 2: what I saw and what I thought was normal to me,
- 20:29Speaker 2: which wasn't to be faithful, so I really But it
- 20:33Speaker 2: wasn't until I spoke to somebody professionally to help me
- 20:35Speaker 2: unpack that shit that I realized, oh okay, and I
- 20:38Speaker 2: wasn't even ready because I was doing all this at
- 20:40Speaker 2: a young age and I'm over here like making I'm
- 20:43Speaker 2: making babies, and now I'm over here like with baby,
- 20:46Speaker 2: multiple baby mamas, and I'm just realizing, oh as I'm
- 20:50Speaker 2: as someone's helping me unpack this. This could have all
- 20:53Speaker 2: been prevented had I would have had some clarity in
- 20:56Speaker 2: my life. And I couldn't blame my dad because he's
- 20:59Speaker 2: a product of his environment. I couldn't really blame my mom.
- 21:01Speaker 2: You know, these are my parents are from the island,
- 21:04Speaker 2: so uh, success to them, And I close it out
- 21:07Speaker 2: by saying, success to them was a little different than
- 21:09Speaker 2: success to me, Like my dad having a job with
- 21:12Speaker 2: health benefits was success me. I wanted to follow my dreams.
- 21:16Speaker 2: But speaking to a therapist and a counselor helped me
- 21:20Speaker 2: navigate through all that shit, especially like I never really
- 21:23Speaker 2: my mom really really was with my mom like she
- 21:26Speaker 2: was like she worked a whole bunch of times. So
- 21:28Speaker 2: I was raised by my grandma a lot, so I
- 21:30Speaker 2: kind of gravitated more to my grandma. So like me
- 21:32Speaker 2: and my mom was like friends, you know what I'm saying. So,
- 21:34Speaker 2: but I needed someone to help me understand why me
- 21:36Speaker 2: and her had this type of relationship that we had
- 21:39Speaker 2: and why I gravitated to my grandma the way I did.
- 21:41Speaker 3: So it was a whole thing.
- 21:43Speaker 2: And I only wanted to share that with you because
- 21:45Speaker 2: I didn't think that I had nothing. You know, we
- 21:47Speaker 2: always just think, yeah, we all right, we're good, but
- 21:49Speaker 2: sometimes were not good, that's the fact.
- 21:51Speaker 3: And we have to say I'm not good a lot
- 21:54Speaker 3: of times. We're not good. My sleeping. I already know
- 21:57Speaker 3: I ain't good, like you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 21:59Speaker 3: so I just wanted to sha.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Just try it though, like I want you to try
- 22:03Speaker 2: it soon because I think that will also make you
- 22:05Speaker 2: a lot.
- 22:07Speaker 3: I think you're already dope. That's why you're here, bro.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I think with the right.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Level, I think it's going to it's gonna a lot
- 22:14Speaker 2: some other ship. So if we got anything from this interview, bro,
- 22:19Speaker 2: because I think you're dope and the content that you're
- 22:21Speaker 2: putting out is dope. And again I was telling them
- 22:24Speaker 2: my co workers, like I wanted to get you on
- 22:27Speaker 2: here before you blow up, because you're gonna blow up
- 22:30Speaker 2: for sure.
- 22:30Speaker 3: That's love. And I understand how this worked because you know,
- 22:33Speaker 3: we just know it just takes time. Bro. We gotta
- 22:35Speaker 3: be patient with your ship. But yeah, you're dope, Bro.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Trust everything takes time and a lot of you know,
- 22:41Speaker 4: a lot of people that's in your position. You know,
- 22:44Speaker 4: Ray can contest, Man, we've done see them, We're done see.
- 22:47Speaker 3: A lot of youth. You'll be sitting right here. Then
- 22:50Speaker 3: he'd be like, damn you man. We interview him last year.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Now he's like he out of here. You know what
- 22:55Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 22:55Speaker 4: So, yeah, you know if saying yo, I believe in
- 22:59Speaker 4: this God, I'm like, I trust you because we can
- 23:02Speaker 4: name over a halfful of people that the same thing was,
- 23:07Speaker 4: like you see them now like damn this person is like.
- 23:11Speaker 2: But like in in closing, what I'm gonna say is
- 23:15Speaker 2: when you were explaining your show and you have people emotional,
- 23:17Speaker 2: see those shows are people the shows that people remember.
- 23:20Speaker 2: That's why I think you're going to go far, because
- 23:22Speaker 2: it's one thing to go out there and just wrap
- 23:24Speaker 2: some ship. And then I appreciate y'all following me on
- 23:26Speaker 2: Instagram boom, but you shared an experience and you have people.
- 23:30Speaker 2: That's why your your followers and your engagement is a
- 23:32Speaker 2: lot more accurate.
- 23:33Speaker 3: And yeah, there Core and you just continue water in
- 23:36Speaker 3: those seas, you know what I'm saying.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And people always remember the way you make them feel.
- 23:41Speaker 1: People always remember how you make them feel. Whether it
- 23:43Speaker 1: be good or bad experience, they always remember it and
- 23:46Speaker 1: thank you for joining us. And before we get out
- 23:48Speaker 1: of here, we got a pep talk with Yi.
- 23:50Speaker 3: My name ya LEI. Uh. The message I want to
- 23:53Speaker 3: leave is.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Hm, I feel like uh more, start to try to
- 24:03Speaker 2: become full of yourself. We put a negative connotation on
- 24:07Speaker 2: being full of yourself. I feel like a lot of
- 24:09Speaker 2: people aren't full of themselves enough where And it don't
- 24:13Speaker 2: mean no cocky or arrogant. But when you full of yourself,
- 24:17Speaker 2: can't nobody else tell you who you are? Or can't
- 24:19Speaker 2: nobody society can't steer you where they want to steer you.
- 24:24Speaker 2: And also I want to say, the man that invented
- 24:30Speaker 2: the light bulb didn't do it for money. He did
- 24:34Speaker 2: it because we needed light. The man that invented the
- 24:38Speaker 2: loaf of bread didn't do it for money. He did
- 24:41Speaker 2: it because we needed to he wanted to eat. So
- 24:45Speaker 2: create something eventual light bulb and just know every day
- 24:49Speaker 2: we wake up we walking around and using somebody else's idea.
- 24:53Speaker 2: So try to come up with something to invent you
- 24:55Speaker 2: feel me that's it.
