King County’s wildfire danger is at a critical level, with a full Stage Two burn ban in place—no outdoor fires allowed, not even for campfires. Firefighters from Eastside Fire and Rescue are already deployed to help battle blazes across Washington and Oregon, with 12 crew members on the ground and more heading out this week. But their primary mission remains protecting western Washington, where dense forests make firefighting far more complex than in drier regions.
