- 0:00Speaker 1: A tough call, or is it? It's one more thing.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'm strong and getty.
- 0:05Speaker 2: One more thing.
- 0:12Speaker 1: So I'll top off this story with my tale that
- 0:14Speaker 1: I've told many times on the air of jumping in
- 0:17Speaker 1: the midst of a bar fight and realizing I was
- 0:19Speaker 1: saving the wrong person at the end getting my favorite
- 0:22Speaker 1: leather jacket covered in blood. Anyway, this happened on a
- 0:26Speaker 1: United Airlines flight. This is not the least bit funny.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Have you seen this story? Maniac flyer viciously beats deaf,
- 0:33Speaker 1: nonverbal passenger until cavin is splattered with blood. No good
- 0:38Speaker 1: listen to this.
- 0:39Speaker 3: This is horrible.
- 0:41Speaker 1: A brutal beatdown happened about two hours into a United
- 0:44Speaker 1: Airlines flight from San Francisco to Washington Dulles yesterday. It
- 0:48Speaker 1: started when a forty four year old got up to
- 0:50Speaker 1: use the bathroom. His name is Everett Chad Nelson. We
- 0:53Speaker 1: should know this person's name. While returning to a steaton,
- 0:57Speaker 1: Nelson stopped at seat twelve F for some reason, and
- 1:01Speaker 1: without notice, began physically attacking a sleeping male passenger by
- 1:05Speaker 1: punching him repeatedly in the face until blood was drawn
- 1:08Speaker 1: and spewing around the cabin. The next thing I know,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I heard these blood curdling screams, says one woman who
- 1:15Speaker 1: was in a row behind her. He was just very
- 1:16Speaker 1: violently and very aggressively, just pumling the guy who was
- 1:20Speaker 1: in the window seat, who was in front of me.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And it was vicious. This wasn't like a barroom. I'm
- 1:24Speaker 1: going to throw a couple of punches. I mean, it
- 1:26Speaker 1: was a vicious pumbling. Listen to this part. Was there
- 1:29Speaker 1: no dude around who would do anything about this? Nelson
- 1:33Speaker 1: rained blows on the defenseless man for a full minute
- 1:38Speaker 1: before a good samaritan jumped in and ripped him off.
- 1:40Speaker 2: The victim. A minute's a long.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Time, Oh, I mean that's a long I mean five seconds,
- 1:46Speaker 1: ten seconds, twenty seconds is a long time for you
- 1:49Speaker 1: to be thinking, show I do something?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Is anybody going to do something? What is going on?
- 1:52Speaker 2: I don't know, blah blah blah. A minute.
- 1:54Speaker 4: People wonder how many people? I wonder how many people
- 1:57Speaker 4: pulled out their phones? Though, to take a video right
- 2:00Speaker 4: is common. Now We've all seen videos of that.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Somebody's getting the crap beat out of them, somebody defenseles
- 2:06Speaker 1: a child, even I've seen these. Everybody's got their phone out.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Nobody's willing to do anything about it. Everybody's willing to
- 2:12Speaker 1: video it. Nielsen rained down blows for a minute. Nelson
- 2:16Speaker 1: split the man's nose nose open, causing blood to splash
- 2:20Speaker 1: over the seat, the cabin wall, the window, and all
- 2:22Speaker 1: over the close of the people around. Victim was left
- 2:25Speaker 1: with two black eyes. A doctor who happened to be
- 2:28Speaker 1: on board treated the man. So I don't really know
- 2:31Speaker 1: much more about this, but I'm just surprised.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Was there no dude around to do something?
- 2:37Speaker 1: I mean, because if you've got a violent lunatic like that,
- 2:39Speaker 1: he might who knows he's going after next? Something's got
- 2:42Speaker 1: to be done. Where were they where the stewardesses? Yeah,
- 2:47Speaker 1: I got a taser. Yeah, you can't have somebody being
- 2:52Speaker 1: that crazy for a full minute. There's got to be
- 2:55Speaker 1: some way to stop it, because it could be doing
- 2:56Speaker 1: anything trying to open the door, beating somebody trying to
- 3:00Speaker 1: get out of the cockpit. Don't I thought we Post
- 3:02Speaker 1: nine to eleven had ways to deal with crazy people.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Did we have any clue what this dude? What Branda crazy?
- 3:09Speaker 3: He is?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Not what's going on there?
- 3:11Speaker 3: Because it sounds like he needs to be in prison
- 3:13Speaker 3: for the rest of his days.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yes, it does.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Attacking a sleeping man and beating him bloody. He's obviously
- 3:19Speaker 3: a psycho, he's obviously got mental problems with some sort,
- 3:22Speaker 3: but he's dangerous. Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Uh so the guy was asleep according to this report,
- 3:30Speaker 1: so it's hard to imagine.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:33Speaker 3: That's just craziness.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Wow.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Oh, speaking of a similar fare, and this is a
- 3:39Speaker 3: grim Grim podcast, I'd like it to be known that
- 3:42Speaker 3: I Joe was not in charge of this too, grim.
- 3:45Speaker 3: But Daniel Penny's homicide trial has begun in New York.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Do you remember Daniel Penny, the former marine who put
- 3:53Speaker 3: the lunatic in a chokehold who was menacing passengers on
- 3:56Speaker 3: a New York City subway train? When was that? Was
- 3:59Speaker 3: that last year or so? Last spring? Penny, who happens
- 4:05Speaker 3: to be white, was indicted by the infamous Alvin Bragg,
- 4:08Speaker 3: not long after Bragg indicted Donald Trump in the farcical
- 4:11Speaker 3: case that was tried earlier this year, and Annie McCarthy
- 4:14Speaker 3: points out of the National Review, there's a symmetry here.
- 4:18Speaker 3: The Progressive Prosecutor project is mainly about two things. Using
- 4:21Speaker 3: government's law enforcement apparatus against the political enemies of progressive Democrats,
- 4:26Speaker 3: a whole lawfair thing, and converting the justice system into
- 4:30Speaker 3: a racialized morality play, not just law and order, but
- 4:33Speaker 3: oppressors and oppressed. And here's something you have not heard
- 4:38Speaker 3: in the mainstream media discussion of this case, which is
- 4:41Speaker 3: desperate for the white guy mean to black guy narrative,
- 4:45Speaker 3: because it was so hot there for the summer of
- 4:48Speaker 3: George Floyd Neely, the dead guy Jordan Neely, who absolutely
- 4:54Speaker 3: had mental problems. He was a mentally unstable career criminal.
- 4:58Speaker 3: He had over forty arrests to his name, thirty plus
- 5:04Speaker 3: of them, and I wish I had this number in
- 5:06Speaker 3: front of me.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I think it's thirty.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Two of them. Of his forty arrests were for assaulting
- 5:11Speaker 3: people on subway trains. Wow, you get to just keep.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Doing that over and over and over again, like three
- 5:19Speaker 1: dozen times, or probably way more than that, because we
- 5:22Speaker 1: all know you get caught and arrested for like one
- 5:25Speaker 1: fifth of the things you do or something statistically.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, you have to commit many crimes to be
- 5:30Speaker 3: arrested and be arrested many times to be convicted on average.
- 5:34Speaker 3: But so this guy was menacing all these passengers and
- 5:37Speaker 3: threatening him and screaming, I don't care if I go
- 5:39Speaker 3: to jailing and a blank you up the rest of it,
- 5:42Speaker 3: and Penny and others leaped to the defense of the
- 5:46Speaker 3: women and children and oldsters that this guy was threatening,
- 5:49Speaker 3: like you're talking about on the plane. And Penny put
- 5:53Speaker 3: the crazy guy in a so called choke hold, which
- 5:55Speaker 3: actually doesn't choke you. It makes you pass out because
- 5:57Speaker 3: pressure on your carotid artery anyway, And he held him
- 6:01Speaker 3: in that hold until authorities could get there, and the
- 6:04Speaker 3: guy ended up not being breathing anymore, and he's dead.
- 6:07Speaker 3: It's it's terrible. You know, you don't get the death
- 6:09Speaker 3: penalty for being an a hole on subway, but it
- 6:11Speaker 3: was clearly an accident. But Alvin Bragging Company are trying
- 6:14Speaker 3: to portray this mister Penny is some sort of racist
- 6:17Speaker 3: lunatic of course, and of course the victim quote unquote
- 6:21Speaker 3: the victim's family is trying to complain that this is
- 6:24Speaker 3: all about race and everything, which is just an idiotic
- 6:27Speaker 3: thing to say.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That's horrible. So it'll be interesting to see how this
- 6:30Speaker 1: turns out.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Uh yeah, yeah, Neily had the synthetic cannaboid K two
- 6:36Speaker 3: an illegal narcotic in his body can trigger hallucinations, and
- 6:40Speaker 3: violent behavior can also prompt rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, seizures,
- 6:45Speaker 3: and death. So anyway, the good news is mister Penny,
- 6:51Speaker 3: his legal defence fund has raised lots and lots of money.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Good.
- 6:55Speaker 3: So I'm hoping A. He is acquitted and b he
- 6:58Speaker 3: has not rendered a destiny because of it.
- 7:01Speaker 1: So back to my story. I started the podcast with,
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm at a bar, Kadie, you are the only one
- 7:06Speaker 1: who has heard this story already. And I'm sitting at
- 7:08Speaker 1: a bar. It's hardly anybody there. I think there's like
- 7:11Speaker 1: four people in the whole bar besides the bartender. And
- 7:14Speaker 1: I hear a fight a commencing behind me. As a
- 7:18Speaker 1: guy who spent many a time in the kind of
- 7:20Speaker 1: bars where fights happened.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It was, that's not shocking to me at all.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I mean, I worked at a bar where there were
- 7:26Speaker 1: multiple fights every single night. Oh yeah, but I see
- 7:29Speaker 1: if I turn around and there's this older guy getting
- 7:32Speaker 1: his ass beaten by a younger guy, and I jumped
- 7:36Speaker 1: on top of the younger guy, and I'm rolling around
- 7:39Speaker 1: and I pull him off, the older guy, and then
- 7:41Speaker 1: the bartender comes around the corner, and we get the
- 7:42Speaker 1: younger guy out and he ends up going out the
- 7:44Speaker 1: door or something like that. I don't remember what happens
- 7:46Speaker 1: after that anyway, One I got blood all over my
- 7:49Speaker 1: favorite leather jacket, which ruined it. And Two I found
- 7:53Speaker 1: out later that the older guy absolutely had an ass
- 7:55Speaker 1: kicking coming. I don't remember what it was, but it
- 7:58Speaker 1: was something horrible he had done. Oh, the younger guy
- 8:02Speaker 1: was absolutely in the right. And as my brother said,
- 8:05Speaker 1: who used to manage a bar where fights happened all
- 8:08Speaker 1: the time, What the hell are.
- 8:09Speaker 2: You doing getting in the middle bar?
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah, because you never have any idea what's going on
- 8:13Speaker 1: or how it's going to turn out.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Or if somebody has a knife or a gun or
- 8:17Speaker 4: well yeah, okay, but that's usually not the case.
- 8:20Speaker 1: God does dander over for you, Jack.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Well, I thought I was being a good smart and
- 8:26Speaker 1: turned out I saved. I kept a young guy, younger
- 8:29Speaker 1: guy from beating an older guy who had it coming.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Well, now to ask or state what everybody's screaming at
- 8:36Speaker 3: their speakers indoor earbuds, compare and contrast that with the
- 8:40Speaker 3: airplane thing and what you're saying about, how did nobody
- 8:43Speaker 3: jump in.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I think that's yeah. Airplane's different than a bar. For
- 8:47Speaker 1: one thing, I mean, fights happened all the time in bars.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I've never seen a fight in an airplane.
- 8:53Speaker 3: But if you're reading a magazine, watching a movie or something,
- 8:55Speaker 3: then all of a sudden you realize there's a physical
- 8:57Speaker 3: frekus going on. I could easily see, not knowing who's who,
- 9:02Speaker 3: or what's going on, or what ied it, I.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Would be impossible for me to stop myself from jumping
- 9:07Speaker 1: in and stopping that guy from raining down blows on
- 9:09Speaker 1: someone who's just sitting there. Well, described to me the
- 9:12Speaker 1: situation where it would be justified for this guy to
- 9:14Speaker 1: be beating him like that.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I'm not I'm just saying you couldn't see what was
- 9:18Speaker 3: going on. You wouldn't be sure what was going on.
- 9:21Speaker 3: You've been on plenty airplanes. You can't see what the
- 9:22Speaker 3: hell's going on four or five ten rows in front
- 9:25Speaker 3: of you. I just tan to be a guy swinging,
- 9:27Speaker 3: but that's all you'd see.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Well, but what there's somebody closer than that that would
- 9:33Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I wouldn't have.
- 9:34Speaker 3: But two stories are not as distinct as you seem
- 9:37Speaker 3: to think they are.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I would I would not be able to stop myself.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And I can't even imagine a scenario where you wouldn't
- 9:46Speaker 1: absolutely be in the right to stop the one guy
- 9:48Speaker 1: from pumbling the other guy.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Who was asleep.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Katie, would you like to weigh in here, or or
- 9:54Speaker 3: let's get your brother Jeff on the line. I can wait.
- 9:57Speaker 1: He will be the judge. No, I'm ever doing that
- 10:01Speaker 1: in my life. I don't care if I'm sixty five
- 10:02Speaker 1: years old. I'm not gonna watch some guy beat down
- 10:04Speaker 1: somebody else and just stand there never doing it.
- 10:07Speaker 3: You're not watching it. That's the point. You can't see
- 10:10Speaker 3: what's going on on an airplane. All you see his
- 10:13Speaker 3: motion in front of you, So you would be leaping
- 10:16Speaker 3: into a situation where you only had half an idea
- 10:19Speaker 3: what was going on.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, I'm assuming I'm closer.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm assuming I'm not in seat ninety five and this
- 10:26Speaker 1: is the second row.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Okay, all right, fair enough, all right, it's clear.
- 10:29Speaker 2: And I'm muly been that's a minute.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I admire that.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Okay, So you see commotion going on, you're gonna get
- 10:35Speaker 4: up out of your seat, walk up and kind of
- 10:37Speaker 4: like see what's going on, and then decide to jump
- 10:40Speaker 4: in is that you know, are you gonna.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think if you were more than a couple rows back,
- 10:43Speaker 1: I don't even know if you would have the slightest
- 10:45Speaker 1: idea what was even happening.
- 10:48Speaker 3: That's right, I'm saying.
- 10:49Speaker 1: But if you like, we were right there.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Like the roll behind them, like all these people that
- 10:54Speaker 2: were being.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Course sitting next to the guy. Oh, one hundred percent
- 10:56Speaker 3: agree with who.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Saw what was happening? The guy who's asleep and the
- 10:58Speaker 1: guy came up and just started being on him for yeah, man,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you are.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Fully cognizant of it. But you know that's a fairly
- 11:04Speaker 3: limited number of people on the airplane. But you know,
- 11:06Speaker 3: with that cave yet, Yeah, I agree with you.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Michael.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Do you remember when we used to call Jack Captain Freedom?
- 11:12Speaker 2: I do.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Can we think of a fanciful scenario where the guy
- 11:17Speaker 1: might have the beating coming.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of one.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Like he had just told him he was sleeping with
- 11:23Speaker 1: his wife, and the guy said, I got to go
- 11:25Speaker 1: to the bathroom and call him down. And then he
- 11:26Speaker 1: comes back and says, you know what, I'm not going
- 11:29Speaker 1: to put up with you sleeping with my wife and
- 11:30Speaker 1: goes to beaten on him.
- 11:32Speaker 3: He's always been. You don't have this guy didn't take
- 11:35Speaker 3: any vows to hear your wife did so quit beaten
- 11:37Speaker 3: on him.
- 11:38Speaker 1: No, yeah, that doesn't work either. There's got to be
- 11:40Speaker 1: there's got to be one I could come up with.
- 11:42Speaker 1: He's the person who sexually abused you as a child,
- 11:45Speaker 1: your whole life, and you ended up sitting next to
- 11:46Speaker 1: him on a plane and you held it in through
- 11:49Speaker 1: half the flight.
- 11:49Speaker 2: But I don't know. I'm trying to come up again.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Let the record show I've tried to lighten it up.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Now we're into child sex molestation, say something lighter. So
- 12:01Speaker 3: you were gambling on the plane, You're playing cards, and
- 12:03Speaker 3: he cheated, and while he was napping, you decided, no, no,
- 12:10Speaker 3: this is this is bad. Okay, So Captain Freedom, it
- 12:16Speaker 3: was when you called if you see something, say something
- 12:19Speaker 3: Las Vegas Airport?
- 12:20Speaker 4: Was it?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, this is an embarrassing story.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't remember it. That you saw guys,
- 12:27Speaker 3: Middle Eastern guys loads of truck.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Right, and he might have just been tan. I don't know.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Why would a Tan guy load a truck if not
- 12:34Speaker 3: for you know, Islamic supremacist reasons.
- 12:38Speaker 1: This was actually New Year's Eve in Las Vegas two
- 12:43Speaker 1: thousand and one, So this is months after nine to eleven. Yes,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I made the stupid decision of going to Las Vegas
- 12:51Speaker 1: where the security was so tight you couldn't do anything.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Finally went just back to the hotel room with like,
- 12:57Speaker 1: there's no point in being here.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I mean, you couldn't.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You couldn't even walk through a casino. There were so
- 13:01Speaker 1: many cops in here, and if you stop for a second,
- 13:03Speaker 1: keep moving, keep moving. It was just horrible because they
- 13:06Speaker 1: were so worried about a terrorist attack in Vegas. Anyway,
- 13:08Speaker 1: I get back to the cheap, crappy hotel. Man, it's
- 13:10Speaker 1: not like I meant some luxury casino. I'm at the
- 13:12Speaker 1: motel six and I'm drinking beer and looking out my
- 13:16Speaker 1: window and I see a van back up to a
- 13:18Speaker 1: lower floor and a bunch of tan guys. But they're
- 13:23Speaker 1: loading something in or out.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Of the van.
- 13:25Speaker 1: That's why I called my one, Jack.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yes he was.
- 13:32Speaker 3: He was protecting America, Katies, Captain Freedom, protecting America.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Oh God, God out.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Maybe they're staying at the room.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It's their luggage.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I don't know, it could be lots of things.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Oh Jack, Italian guys trying to get their luggage into
- 13:53Speaker 3: their their van. What's the matter, help me with the suitcase.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my lowest moment. That was Captain Freedwey's most.
- 14:07Speaker 3: That's the sound we used to always play.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Okay, Oh, I mean, I appreciate where you were coming from,
- 14:12Speaker 4: you know, trying to save the planet and.
- 14:13Speaker 3: All, you know, at the risk of running a foul
- 14:18Speaker 3: of the tangent police tangent on a tangent on a tangent.
- 14:20Speaker 3: If you ever watched old timey TV shows and movies,
- 14:24Speaker 3: whenever they had to like portray Indians or Poncho Villa's
- 14:28Speaker 3: army or whatever, it was usually Italian guys. Yeah, because
- 14:31Speaker 3: they're kind of sort of olive skinned and they'd layer
- 14:34Speaker 3: a little makeup on that. But if you're familiar with
- 14:37Speaker 3: Italian Americans, you're like, that Indian chief's name is Demucci,
- 14:42Speaker 3: that's the actor's real name.
- 14:43Speaker 2: You're not fooling me.
- 14:46Speaker 3: So it's probably a bunch of a bunch of Italian
- 14:49Speaker 3: guys loo in Maasagna for their big New Year's party.
- 14:54Speaker 3: You brought the FBI on in the down on them.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Well, Happy Halloween, everybody, I guess that's it.
