  Speaker 2: All right, Well, today we're gonna start Jeremiah chapter eighteen,
• 6:38
  Speaker 2: and we're gonna go through verse one through eleven. This
• 6:40
  Speaker 2: is one of those passages that gives us a picture
• 6:45
  Speaker 2: we can actually see, right, God says Jeremiah, down to
• 6:49
  Speaker 2: the potter's house. Now this is a little personal to
• 6:54
  Speaker 2: me because I used to belong to a church. Our
• 6:59
  Speaker 2: church was named the Door, but the fellowship was the
• 7:03
  Speaker 2: potter's house. Like the potter's house was the mother church
• 7:08
  Speaker 2: to us. And so I can you know, it just
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: takes me back there to my early days of walking
• 7:16
  Speaker 2: with the Lord. But here we see Maya watches the
• 7:20
  Speaker 2: potter working with clay on a wheel, but something goes
• 7:24
  Speaker 2: wrong with the wheel. Instead of throwing the clay away,
• 7:28
  Speaker 2: the potter re shapes it and makes it into another vessel.
• 7:33
  Speaker 2: Then God gives Jeremiah the message as the clay is
• 7:37
  Speaker 2: in the potter's hands, So are ye in my hand now?
• 7:43
  Speaker 2: This is going to be a powerful lesson today. God
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: is the potter, we are the clay, and so we
• 7:51
  Speaker 2: definitely need to tune into this. So let's jump in.
• 7:56
  Speaker 2: Jeremiah eighteen versus one and two is where we're going
• 8:01
  Speaker 2: to start it off. Now, the word which came to
• 8:07
  Speaker 2: Jeremiah from the Lord saying, now, maya Jeremiah, because he
• 8:12
  Speaker 2: repeatedly received words a Lord. Amen, that is what I'm
• 8:16
  Speaker 2: striving to be. That's I want the Lord to send
• 8:19
  Speaker 2: me messages like that. But it says the word which
• 8:23
  Speaker 2: came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, arise and go
• 8:28
  Speaker 2: down to the Potter's house, and there I will cause
• 8:32
  Speaker 2: you to hear my words. Amen, this is gonna be good.
• 8:38
  Speaker 2: So let's stop right there and break it down right.
• 8:43
  Speaker 2: Arise and go down to the Potter's house, and there
• 8:47
  Speaker 2: will be a cause thee to hear my words. Now
• 8:51
  Speaker 2: I'm going if you notice, I'm going back and forth
• 8:53
  Speaker 2: from the King James to the new King James. God
• 8:57
  Speaker 2: could have simply explained the lesson, but instead he told
• 9:02
  Speaker 2: him to go and see it. Go and see this illustration,
• 9:06
  Speaker 2: go down to the Potter's house. And of course Jeremiah obeys,
• 9:13
  Speaker 2: and when he gets there, he sees the potter, and
• 9:15
  Speaker 2: he sees the potter working. Now God was using an
• 9:21
  Speaker 2: ordinary scene to reveal a spiritual truth. The potter's authority
• 9:27
  Speaker 2: over the clay illustrate God's authority over his people. Amen.
• 9:34
  Speaker 2: We need to recognize God and we need to recognize
• 9:38
  Speaker 2: his authority over our lives. Amen. We're not supposed to
• 9:42
  Speaker 2: just get up and do whatever we want. We're supposed
• 9:46
  Speaker 2: to say, as the Lord wills, we shall do this,
• 9:49
  Speaker 2: and that we need to bring our plans before his feet. Amen.

  Speaker 2: Now God is not distant from the process. He is
• 10:01
  Speaker 2: actually shaping what has to be created at this time.
• 10:07
  Speaker 2: Sometimes God teaches us through ordinary things. You know, Jesus
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: was the great teacher. He would always use parables to
• 10:16
  Speaker 2: help us learn spiritual truths. Now, you may be going
• 10:22
  Speaker 2: through something right now, wondering why God allowed this situation
• 10:27
  Speaker 2: to take place, or maybe there's a lesson in it.
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: Right and I got something I definitely want to share
• 10:34
  Speaker 2: with you before we finish the podcast today. So maybe
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: God has shown you something about yourself. Maybe he's preparing
• 10:44
  Speaker 2: you for something you are not ready for yet. Sometimes
• 10:49
  Speaker 2: you have to slow down long enough to ask, Lord,
• 10:53
  Speaker 2: what are you trying to teach me? Hey? Man, is
• 11:00
  Speaker 2: in the silence. We can find his voice when we
• 11:04
  Speaker 2: take time out to listen. Amen. We can find God's
• 11:09
  Speaker 2: voice in the stillness of the quiet. And we have
• 11:16
  Speaker 2: to get quiet. And I'm talking to myself because sometimes
• 11:19
  Speaker 2: my life gets so busy. But we have to get
• 11:22
  Speaker 2: quiet enough so that we can hear the voice. Amen. Amen.

  Speaker 2: Verse where we're at verse three, We're gonna take it
• 11:37
  Speaker 2: all the way to four. It says. Then I went
• 11:42
  Speaker 2: down to the potter's house, and there he was making
• 11:45
  Speaker 2: something at the wheel, and the vessel that he made
• 11:50
  Speaker 2: of clay was marred in the hand of the potter.
• 11:55
  Speaker 2: So he made it again into another vessel, as it
• 11:59
  Speaker 2: seemed good to the potter to make it. Now, this
• 12:06
  Speaker 2: is interesting right here. Jeremiah watched the potter working at
• 12:16
  Speaker 2: the wheel, and man, it's a good thing to work,
• 12:19
  Speaker 2: especially when you're learning new skills and new abilities. And
• 12:24
  Speaker 2: it's great to see people in their element, creating things
• 12:28
  Speaker 2: and working on things. And so he's watching the potter
• 12:31
  Speaker 2: at the wheel. Now the potter is working with the clay,
• 12:40
  Speaker 2: but the clay became marred in the potter's hand. In
• 12:45
  Speaker 2: other words, it broke, or you could say that it
• 12:49
  Speaker 2: became disfigured, or what he purposed it for did not
• 12:56
  Speaker 2: staying to its purpose, did not fulfill the purpose. We know,
• 13:01
  Speaker 2: I've never manufactured anything before, but I assumed the process.
• 13:07
  Speaker 2: I mean, I can't speak with authority, but I imagine.
• 13:12
  Speaker 2: I mean it makes common sense. Right, if you make
• 13:14
  Speaker 2: a product, you got to test it out right, to
• 13:17
  Speaker 2: see if it's good or if it's bad. Right, if
• 13:20
  Speaker 2: you make a bike, I'm pretty sure you have to
• 13:23
  Speaker 2: check the tires, to frame the wheels, because you don't
• 13:26
  Speaker 2: want somebody to get hurt. And a lot of things
• 13:31
  Speaker 2: I assume get rejected from the assembly line if it's
• 13:35
  Speaker 2: deformed or defective. They push it to the side. And
• 13:41
  Speaker 2: so this clay was marred in the potter's hand. But
• 13:48
  Speaker 2: the potter, he doesn't throw it away, He does it
• 13:53
  Speaker 2: move it to the side. Instead, he works with it
• 13:56
  Speaker 2: again and makes another vessel. Now that's powerful. The clay
• 14:03
  Speaker 2: was damaged, but it was not discarded. Now that shows
• 14:10
  Speaker 2: us the grace of all Mighty God, and that right
• 14:14
  Speaker 2: there it pertains in a nation of Israel. But we
• 14:18
  Speaker 2: can also claim this for our own lives. As well,
• 14:24
  Speaker 2: and also it debunks to teaching that Israel was replaced
• 14:29
  Speaker 2: with the Church. No, Israel is being remade even as
• 14:34
  Speaker 2: we speak. God is going to work with that nation
• 14:38
  Speaker 2: yet again. So the Potter continues to work as an
• 14:45
  Speaker 2: illustration of God's willingness to reshape his people. Right, the
• 14:52
  Speaker 2: marred vessel wasn't evidence that the Potter had failed. It
• 15:00
  Speaker 2: became an opportunity for the Potter to reform the clay
• 15:04
  Speaker 2: into something else. Now we've heard it said that what
• 15:10
  Speaker 2: the enemy meant for evil, God can turn it around
• 15:15
  Speaker 2: for good. Amen. As a matter of fact, that is
• 15:17
  Speaker 2: one of my consistent prayers. Oh Lord, whatever the enemy
• 15:22
  Speaker 2: meant for evil, Lord turn it around for my good.
• 15:28
  Speaker 2: Now I believe that somebody really needs to listen and hear.
• 15:32
  Speaker 2: This podcast was meant for a lot of people. I
• 15:36
  Speaker 2: believe because being broke broken doesn't mean that you are useless.
• 15:43
  Speaker 2: There's areas in your life that are broken. There's areas
• 15:48
  Speaker 2: in your life that other people have broken. You may
• 15:53
  Speaker 2: have broken it yourself. What I'm trying to say is
• 15:59
  Speaker 2: that we have all made mistakes. You have maybe you've
• 16:08
  Speaker 2: gone through things that wounded you. You may have some
• 16:11
  Speaker 2: wounds and I'm also speaking to myself because I went
• 16:19
  Speaker 2: through an abusive situation growing up with my mother, sharing
• 16:27
  Speaker 2: it as a testimony. I'm not crying over spilled milk.
• 16:30
  Speaker 2: I'm healed. I have forgiven my mother. It's been a process,
• 16:35
  Speaker 2: but it's difficult to recover when it's appearing right. But
• 16:42
  Speaker 2: Guy's grace is sufficient. But in the process of me
• 16:47
  Speaker 2: healing and recovering, other family members got hurt too. And
• 16:52
  Speaker 2: I'm praying that God will reconcile us all as a family.

  Speaker 2: We've all made decisions that we have regretted. You may
• 17:06
  Speaker 2: look at your life and think there is no way
• 17:09
  Speaker 2: God can use me now right. You may be in
• 17:13
  Speaker 2: a place or in a circumstance that you feel you
• 17:17
  Speaker 2: cannot get out of. But look at the clay. The
• 17:22
  Speaker 2: potter did not throw it away, He reshaped it. You're
• 17:29
  Speaker 2: not finished just because you've been through something. If you're
• 17:34
  Speaker 2: still in the Potter's hands, he's still working on you.
• 17:40
  Speaker 2: Hey man, let me say that again. If you are
• 17:42
  Speaker 2: still in the Potter's hands, if you are still walking
• 17:47
  Speaker 2: with God, if you're still seeking God, or if you've stopped, well,
• 17:52
  Speaker 2: you need to get up and start again, because he
• 17:54
  Speaker 2: wants to reshape your life. With the enemy meant for evil,
• 18:02
  Speaker 2: he wants to turn it around for good. Amen, all right?

  Speaker 2: Verse five and six. Then the word of the Lord
• 18:12
  Speaker 2: came to me, saying, old house of Israel, can I
• 18:17
  Speaker 2: not do with you? As this potter says the Lord, Look,
• 18:22
  Speaker 2: as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are
• 18:27
  Speaker 2: you in my hand? O, house of Israel. Wow? That
• 18:35
  Speaker 2: that is beautiful and that is poetic. Amen. God is
• 18:43
  Speaker 2: such a creative gud. That was like like like bar,
• 18:50
  Speaker 2: those are bars right there. You know what I'm saying.
• 18:52
  Speaker 2: You're dropping some bars. Let's break you down. So are
• 18:58
  Speaker 2: you in my hand? God is telling Jeremiah, Behold, as
• 19:04
  Speaker 2: a clay is in the potter's hands, so are you
• 19:08
  Speaker 2: in my hand? Now, this is a central message right here.
• 19:13
  Speaker 2: God has authority over his people, just as the potter
• 19:18
  Speaker 2: has authority over the clay. The clay doesn't tell the
• 19:24
  Speaker 2: potter what shape it wants to be. The potter determines
• 19:28
  Speaker 2: the purpose and beloved. That's where things get difficult for
• 19:35
  Speaker 2: us sometimes, right, because sometimes we want God to bless
• 19:39
  Speaker 2: our plans, don't we I have to pray from time
• 19:44
  Speaker 2: to time. I can't get carried away with Hey, I
• 19:48
  Speaker 2: want to open the club, or even doing his hop
• 19:51
  Speaker 2: or even this podcast or whatever. You know. I have
• 19:54
  Speaker 2: to give it over to the Lord. And if he
• 19:56
  Speaker 2: says stop doing it, then I have to be obedient.

  Speaker 2: If he wants to reshape my life to do something else, man,
• 20:06
  Speaker 2: I have to trust and obey and believe that his
• 20:09
  Speaker 2: plan is better than mine.

  Speaker 3: It looks like you lost another one.

  Speaker 2: Now we say God, this is what I want, This
• 20:21
  Speaker 2: is where I want to go, this is what I
• 20:24
  Speaker 2: want to accomplish, this is the person I want to marry,
• 20:29
  Speaker 2: this is the career I want. And then we ask
• 20:32
  Speaker 2: God to put his stamp of approval on it. But
• 20:36
  Speaker 2: sometimes God says I have something different in mind. Right.
• 20:42
  Speaker 2: That's when we have to decide whether we're going to
• 20:44
  Speaker 2: trust a potter or trust in ourselves. Trust our own plan,
• 20:55
  Speaker 2: and trust me. Our plan is never better than Gods
• 21:03
  Speaker 2: Verse seven. The instant I speak concerning a nation and
• 21:08
  Speaker 2: concerning a kingdom, I pluck up. I mean to pluck up,
• 21:14
  Speaker 2: to pull down, and to destroy it. If that nation
• 21:19
  Speaker 2: against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I
• 21:24
  Speaker 2: will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring
• 21:28
  Speaker 2: upon it. Now that right there is a powerful truth.
• 21:35
  Speaker 2: And I hope and I pray that the entire United
• 21:40
  Speaker 2: States of America can hear this podcast episode, Like somebody

  Speaker 2: needs to send this to the White House so the

  Speaker 2: President can hear it. Hey, man, repentance can change the outcome.

  Speaker 2: And so right here, God explains that if he declined

  Speaker 2: Layer's judgment against a nation and that nation turns away

  Speaker 2: from its evil, you know what comes to mind is

  Speaker 2: know it's a big fish. But Noah, I mean not Noah,

  Speaker 2: nation to be judged. But God relent it because the

  Speaker 2: and ashes and repent it before Jehovah and God did

  Speaker 2: not destroy that nation. How much more will he show

  Speaker 2: us the same grace if we bow down to our

  Speaker 2: knees as a nation and asked God for forgiveness. Amen, hallelujah.

  Speaker 2: Now this is a powerful picture of God's mercy. God

  Speaker 2: warns them because he wants them to change. This is
• 23:11
  Speaker 2: what guys desire. He desires change. He wants us to repent.

  Speaker 2: Guy's warnings provide an opportunity for repentance. We need to
• 23:24
  Speaker 2: change our evil ways. This is really impressed to my
• 23:30
  Speaker 2: heart right now. The reason we do these podcasts, the
• 23:34
  Speaker 2: reason we go through the word, is so that we
• 23:36
  Speaker 2: could change. I hope and pray that these episodes are
• 23:43
  Speaker 2: changing your life, changing my life, changing our lives. Right.

  Speaker 2: It's not just about getting information and walk away from it. No,
• 23:52
  Speaker 2: this is about turning, changing behavior, calling out to God,
• 23:57
  Speaker 2: asking Guy's help. A man, now, God's declared now God,

  Speaker 2: Because Okay, when God gives a declaration of judgment, it
• 24:14
  Speaker 2: is meant. It isn't meant to remove human responsibility when God.
• 24:20
  Speaker 2: When people turn from their evil ways, God responds to
• 24:24
  Speaker 2: their repentance. So, in other words, what I'm trying to
• 24:29
  Speaker 2: say is that there is a human responsibility in it.

  Speaker 2: We can't be lazy in our relationship with God. You
• 24:37
  Speaker 2: cannot go to hell just because we were lazy. Right,
• 24:41
  Speaker 2: We have to fulfill our responsibility. Seek him, search out
• 24:46
  Speaker 2: his word, pray to him, walk in his presence, and
• 24:51
  Speaker 2: we need to turn. Think about what that means. A
• 24:55
  Speaker 2: warning is actually an act of mercy. If you're driving
• 25:01
  Speaker 2: down the road, is somebody's screams, stop there's danger ahead.
• 25:08
  Speaker 2: You don't get angry because they warned you. You should
• 25:11
  Speaker 2: be thankful. God's correction is something that sometimes it seems uncomfortable,
• 25:20
  Speaker 2: because He loves us enough to tell us the truth.

  Speaker 2: He loves us enough to let us know that we
• 25:28
  Speaker 2: are going the wrong way. Your life, your decisions, your path,
• 25:34
  Speaker 2: your friends, your habits. You are going the wrong way.

  Speaker 2: You are headed in the direction of judgment. And God
• 25:46
  Speaker 2: wants to spare us that Amen. Nine ten and the

  Speaker 2: a cousin that believed that we should have done more

  Speaker 2: for mother, and maybe they are right. I'm not going
