- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Hi guys, welcome back to Skim Care Anarchy.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: This is your host Ecksma and I'm so so excited to introduce you guys to each brand that we have today with us because you know I feel like when it comes to cosmetic products, obviously there's a lot of stuff out there, but it's really hard to resonate with brands these days.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of people are just turning out, you know, the same thing over and over again.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: So for me personally, when I'm buying cosmetics or I'm looking for something really unique, I want something that speaks to me on multiple levels.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: And you know, it has to be something I can easily obviously incorporate into my team, but also there should be some meaning there for me behind the brand.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to the founder of Fluency Beauty, Ada Shea.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the show, Ada.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited to talk to you and learn about Fluency.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Hi, Ecta.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for having me on.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: This is gonna be really fun.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: I'm so stoked to just be on and just can talk about things, about life, about business.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, no, I am too.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: And you know, I really love just the thoughtfulness you've poured into your brand.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: You know, I think it becomes really apparent as soon as someone sees it with the naming of the products to just how beautifully like the packaging is, how easy it is to like pop into your bag, like all these wonderful things I love about it, but I want to really actually start with you and your journey.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Like, where did it all begin for you?
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: And what made you want to go into you know, just cosmetics and beauty?
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, first of all, thank you so much for your kind words.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: That that just makes me like really happy, just hearing those, like all the work that I've done with it for nothing, you know.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: So that's really nice to hear.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: So I actually started out in finance, you know, a lot of times when we're growing up, we just don't know what we're supposed to do in life.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: So I naturally fell into finance, but I'm like so grateful for that journey because it actually brought me to New York.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: And I love it here in this like where I fell in love with my life, with me.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: And then in it was in New York that I actually started doing makeup on the side as a hobby.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: And what happened was I just fell in love with special effects and editorial makeup, which is like super creative, and it was like color therapy, art therapy for me.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: So I just devoured it.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: I like just wanted to every free moment.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: I was studying makeup, like taking classes on the side, practicing on myself, going through just art history because a lot of the looks was inspired by you know, history, like Carvaggio and Monet, and just like the great artist.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: So I fell in love with that, and what I found was it actually tore up my skin because there's just like so much chemicals from the special effects stuff.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: So I started digging into ingredients, and as you know already, it's just makeup is just really toxic.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: And I grew up on a pretty holistic and natural, I guess, like ethos in life, just like eating.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: My parents were like super, super healthy and always cooking at home and and like just pounding that message of like natural is really healthy for you.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: So I think I just, you know, since I grew up on that, I wanted to create something that was just better for all of us.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: That was essentially healthy makeup.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: No, I mean that makes so much sense.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: It's interesting what you brought up.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: It's this idea of like, you know, I think the health component of cosmetics and anything topical.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, this this comes up a lot on the podcast, you know.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Idea of like we don't really as consumers stop and think, like, okay, I do I might love like a shade, right?
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Of a lipstick or like, you know, a blush or whatever it is.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: But have you considered what it took to make that?
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: You know, and I know like around clean beauty has kind of become this huge thing now, right?
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: And like consumers are gravitating, but at the same time, I have found it to be actually a little weird because there's not as much like why we don't use certain things or why we should use certain ingredients over others, you know.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: There's not enough education there about that, my yeah.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: So I agree.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: So I mean, from that, like, you know, just as a launching point, I want to ask you about your formulations because you know, the the lip products for me, I mean, they go on beautifully and they look beautiful and the pigment is amazing.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: But when you were crafting them, like what were the benefits and from that health perspective that you wanted to keep in mind?
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Well, I just first of all, everything, anything we put on our lips, we're going to ingest it eventually, just because like every day we're like drinking water, we're eating, you know, and a lot of that lip product, we we don't care, you know, we're just well, at least for me, I'm like a ravenous eater.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: And so it just all goes into my mouth and into my body.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: And I just that was the main, like I guess, mission behind why I wanted to start with lip products is it's not only topical, but we're ingesting it at the same time.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think, yeah, I definitely do.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: I've eaten my fair share of lip balm over the years.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and actually our lip skin is, you know, the thinnest, one of the thinnest skins on our body as well.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: So it's definitely going in no matter what.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no matter what.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: No, it's it's interesting because you have some very interesting ingredients.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: I know a lot of people are buzzing right now, like on TikTok and social media, about castor seed oil, you know, for example.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: And I've noticed that is an ingredient that's very much at the top of your list, you know, in the Indian deck.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: And I love to see that because it has so many amazing properties.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, castor seed oil, as many of you might already know, you know, like the moisturizing is there, the antimicrobial properties, yes, anti-inflammatory properties.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's really great.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So, what made you like when you were coming up with your like was there were there ingredients in mind that you had, you know, from the gecko, or did you have to do a lot of research?
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: You know, oh oh my god, so much, so much research.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: But some of the ingredients that I had in mind actually, castor seed wasn't at the top, it came later and it just it it just so happened to be part of the the chemistry that made everything melt together and work.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: So that's how the castor seed oil came about.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: But really, when I was researching, I wanted the pigments to be from food, and I wanted the just the ingredients to be as plant-based and like edible as possible.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: So that's where I started.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: You know, I was testing a lot of like beetroot powder in my kitchen.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: I tried matcha powder, but it was just a lot, yeah, yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's a there's one of the shades is like so awesome.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, I love it personally because I mean I just like darker shades, especially with fall, right?
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: You know, at our doorstep.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: I am powerful, is I think my favorite shade out of the three.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And it's a beautiful for every anyone listening, it's a beautiful, like, like berry beet colored, like, you know, almost like a deep, you know, deep shade of that.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: And it's so beautiful because you can layer, you know, you doesn't I mean it goes on strongly because the pigmentation is awesome in your products, but like I love it because it actually just it naturally goes with your skin tone.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like a lot of times darker lip lipstick colors, like they'll look a little like you know, artificial.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: It doesn't really matter what your skin tone is, like they just go on a little bit more, I don't know, it's harder to play with them.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: And so I found this one, I found this one to be very unique in that sense.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: And and I I'm just very curious because when you're telling me about how you're playing with like food, like the actual color of foods, you know, that really makes sense to me because it goes on as if it's supposed to, I mean, it's the color it is, but it's like very natural to your own complexion.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: So tell us the story behind this color.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: I am powerful.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: I am I love clean beauty, but I do find that it's not because of my background in the special specs and the editorial, I just wanted some drama, you know?
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I wanted like a really dark color in the collection, and we played around with different pigments, and that was the one that I really loved.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it looks really good, like it's really, really pretty.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: And like, I don't know if any of you did this when you were little, but I used to like my mother used to juice a lot even when I was younger.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, my parents they yeah, like those cleanses.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: Like, my mom was like all about figuring out the new cleanse, you know, like she used beads a lot, like beads were always there, you know, like just using them and juicing.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: And I remember like being a kid and playing around with like the because it stains, like you know, oh my god, it stains so bad, yeah.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and but like the color is gorgeous, it comes out with this beautiful berry, like just dark red, you know, just berry color, and it's gorgeous.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: I remember as a kid putting it on my lips and playing with it.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: So when I tried this, it kind of was like nostalgic almost, you know.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, very awesome to hear.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so like I, you know, I just I love that, and I like that there is like something very relatable about your product.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: So I think that's for me as a consumer, that's what speaks to it.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: So I mean, I want to ask you, you know, what was your initial vision, you know, for the brand?
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Like, what did you really want to create in terms of the relatability aspect?
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Because I think that's something we don't really talk about enough, you know, in the beauty industry is the power of that, like the power of the emotions that go behind why we buy the makeup that we buy, you know?
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: So while I was, you know, working on Wall Street and then doing makeup on the side, I just every time I did makeup, like I just felt so peaceful and just everything was okay.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: And I was just focused in this moment.
- 9:41SPEAKER_02: It was a moment to myself where I could just breathe and be.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: And so, and then when I found out later like how toxic makeup really was, I was like, that doesn't make any sense.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: Like, how can something be so powerful emotionally be so bad for us physically?
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: So that was the mission when I wanted to accomplish was to make these things aligned where it makes sense, where it's good for you, mind, body, and soul.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, that makes sense.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: And I I think that, you know, if you come from that standpoint too, there's another thing that happens is like there's this whole conversation around inclusivity now, you know, cosmetics.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: I think that becomes easier to do.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, you know, if you're coming from it from this perspective of making genuinely good products, right?
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: That people can relate to, I think inclusivity becomes almost like an automatic thing that gets built in, you know, to your brand.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: I see that, you know, I see that with fluency is that you have made it very inclusive.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: So how is that?
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, I I know cosmetics is it's difficult.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: So when you were when you were approaching the colors and stuff, how was the like how did you approach the inclusivity aspect?
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Well, I wanted to start out with shades that had as wide of a variety as possible.
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: So there's only three shades right now, but I wanted to keep it somewhat neutral and then have that powerful red lip in there as well.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: I I feel like it does tend to skew more towards people of color.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: And my Caucasian friends are always like, Can you make lighter shades for us?
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Yeah, that will be my next, like maybe like a more pink tone.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: But it's definitely always on my mind, like always on my mind.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's really good options though for anyone of color, anyone really.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: I don't think, I mean, they shouldn't have problems though, because you can layer them really well.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Like yes, you can.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Go on like a thick, you know, like a thick shade as soon as you swipe.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: It's just it's very layerable.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: You can kind of tap it on your lips and it goes on.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: I also that was one of the I guess the properties, if you may, that I I really wanted to hit was that versatility and the multi-functional, because I think just living in New York for so many years, that's what you really need.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: Like, like time is limited, space is limited.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: You just want something that you can use for everything.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: So that was also why I wanted to make it layerable and just for actually for fluency now, it's multi-stick.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: So I know it looks like a lipstick, but you can actually use it for a blush as well.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: I wanted to mention that.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's actually that's what really is interesting because when I was talking about complexion earlier, that's kind of what I meant.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: I should have said it.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no worries.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: When you put it on your when you put it on your lips, cheeks, or like on top, like your eyes, like it all blends in beautifully with your skin tone.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, it's really nice.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: I like it a lot.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: I'm so happy that you like it.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I mean it's I think it just it speaks for itself.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: I'm glad that you you are doing this multi, you know, like multi-purpose product though, like this approach, because there's just a lot, as you know, you know, there's a lot, yeah.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Like I'm I'm sick of having like five products, you know what I mean?
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: To my everyday look.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Like, we need more multi-purpose products, I feel like out there.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: But you know, this is really, really great.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, I love it.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: I use it a lot, and I think that the layerability aspect is my favorite part about it.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: You know, one thing I will ask you though, and this curiosity is when you were creating, I mean, I know you wanted to create something clean and and you know, really plant-based.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Were there any hurdles that you encountered in terms of like the quality that you wanted?
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's so many.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: So RD took four years about, and there's a reason why people don't use plant-based pigments.
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: It's just the chemistry of it is just so complex.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: It's way easier to just use like the dyes and the minerals.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I really wanted to just have that integrity and stay true to me and everything that I was trying to accomplish.
- 13:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the pigments, it's it's like that's why I started out in my kitchen just buying freeze-dried powder from like beet, trying to make this work, but it's not that simple because all of those powders that you buy at the grocery stores, they're water-based, and a lot of these formulations are oil-based.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: And we all know oil and water don't really mix.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: And to get that pigment payoff is was also very, very hard.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: And you know, you see a lot of other brands that do use these pigments, but they they have to resort to using like traditional pigments to mix them because the pigment payoff is just horrible.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: But yeah, so that's why RD took so long, and we we finally figured out how to get that like really solid pigment impact.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I think you definitely nailed that.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: The pigment is like amazing.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: But I mean, that's interesting though.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, I can imagine it being hard.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, when you're extracting from like a natural source, like it's always gonna be it's not the same as synthetic, but it's not I mean, again, though, it I think whenever you take something from nature though, or you try to really encompass it into your creation, it's it's always going to be more compatible, I think, you know, overall with your skin type, with your skin tone, with complexions.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I find that to be the most resourceful, you know, like like to find motivation and innovation as so I'm I can see why you went the plant-based route, you know, it makes sense.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of times with cosmetics, we fall into this.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, I didn't grow up with it, but I know that the new generation is all about that heavy, you know, heavy makeup, heavy look.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, how do you feel about that?
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Like in terms of just how the cosmetic industry is portraying, like, you know, your everyday look these days.
- 15:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's it it comes in waves, right?
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Because I remember not too long ago it was like the clean girl aesthetic, and now we're kind of shifting back to full face.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: But I believe that the millennials and the older is a Gen X, right?
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Gen X.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: The older of Gen X, yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Older Yeah.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: So I I think I feel like the Millennials and the Gen X, they really resonate with this brand just because of the versatility and the time-saving aspect of it.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: And like women are just really busy these days in between like careers and trying to have a social life and trying to take care of the family.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: They I think we just really like this easiness to it.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: It's like the flexibility of just having something in your purse and using it and knowing it's gonna work.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's like my number one criteria.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I mean, I'm a millennial, so I completely I 100% agree with you.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: I think we because we also grew up in an interesting time period too.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: I think millennials, like I know for me, growing up, even like you know, doing your makeup in college, right?
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: To go out, like we weren't using crazy amounts of makeup.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, I wasn't my friend.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: No, not at all.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: It was still that very natural, like almost like hips for vibe, you know, that would oh yeah, definitely.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: And I know I don't know if it's just my circle of of friends, however limited that is, but not a lot of us use foundation these days, you know?
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: It's just like concealer and then whatever color cosmetics, and that's it.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: So even though I think, yeah, maybe like the heavier makeup look is back on trend, like realistically, I don't know if we have time to do all of it.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Oh god, I don't even know how you make.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, I try, I'm not gonna lie, I've tried a couple of times and I end up removing half of it because I just can't like it's like one, it took me forever, and two, I'm just like, now it's gonna take me forever to maintain it.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: So I'm just gonna just know it's a no.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: And it's like if we do end up doing a full faith, it's like special events, you know, like special holidays, special like whatever.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: So yeah, for for every day, this is more of an everyday daily use kind of situation.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: You just slap it on, it's so easy, blend it out with your fingers, whatever, and you're and you're good to go.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: No, and I also like the the eyeshadow component of of multi, like the multi-stick, because the thing is, you know, with I remember there was like a whole like time period where everybody was freaking out about like eyeshadows and like doing like the eight different shades, blending it.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sorry, but I never got the blending down, okay.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: My stuff was ridiculous.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I looked like a clown.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: That was definitely like harder looks for sure.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: I know I remember walking into Sephora and the makeup artist there had that look as well, and they also didn't blend it out properly.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: So it's not, it's not just you know, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, honestly though, it it was a struggle because it's so easy to like look at social media, and this is something I mean I feel very strongly about this because you know, obviously with the podcast, I look at TikTok a lot, you know.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: I see all these girls and they're like, I mean, I I love that they're having fun with their makeup.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: That's number one, you know.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, I'm like, gosh, I wish I could have something to relate to here because you know, for me, I still love makeup.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: We all do, you know?
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: I know, yeah.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: It's just part of you, it becomes a part of you.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: And it's hard when you can't find those like really cool options anymore in the industry.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like that, you know, I'm in my late 30s personally, and I I feel like after my 20s, it was harder to find makeup in the sense not necessarily like shades, but makeup that you can relate to, you know, that you can get excited about, you know, that that becomes harder, I think, the older that we get.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: And so when I look at your brand and when I see that there is this like it's exciting to have one product, you know, and just be able to say, I can use this.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: I and it makes me feel pretty and it makes me feel good about myself.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: And you can re-everything you need is right there.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: I think that says a lot, you know, it's exciting.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: So thank you.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: I know I so I feel like my demographic it does lean older, like millennial syngenetics, but when people look at my brand, they're like, Oh, it looks so young though.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: And I was like, We still like exciting, cool things.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: It's not like we're dead when we hit 30, you know.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a millennial doesn't mean I'm like 90 years old.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: We still like aesthetic things, yeah.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: No, I know.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think that that's that's the thing though.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, you I mean, you kind of like proved my point is that it's like I I feel like, yeah, you know, you're either really young and you're playing with makeup, or you're just old, you know.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's like boring.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, why is it boring?
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Why does like aging mean boring?
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: You know, that's also like one of the stigmas I wanted to break.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I think I think it's a really, really cool concept that you've created.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: And what's coming up?
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, do you have any products in the pipeline that you're working on?
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Or um not currently.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: I've been thinking about maybe just focusing on multi-sticks for now and expanding the shade range and then maybe doing like contour sticks or something later on, but yeah.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: I like your concealer idea too.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say, like, I am concealer, like I I'm the same way, like just like a little bit of concealer, and I will like cover up.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Like, I feel like that'd be like Yeah, that's oh my gosh, anything skin tone is very difficult though.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: That's something that I'm it's not really on the table right now.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: For me, yeah.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: But that is a good idea though.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, I'm sure whatever you come up with, it's gonna be awesome.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: I also wanted to say, like, some of the shades, the red, like the the more red-based shade, you can also use it for color correcting for anyone listening out there.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, yeah.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: It's a good it's good for color correcting.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Like if you have hyperpigmentation and stuff and darker skin tones, like it's a good red for that.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: So I mean, it's just a great product.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: I think you've really come out with like three shades that are just bomb, you know, they're all thank you so much.
