- 1:25Speaker 1: talking about you, you know, just trying to make sure
- 1:27Speaker 1: real quick. But the channel was growing and we're trying
- 1:32Speaker 1: to get to the next stage of what that is.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I hate to say the number, but we're real close
- 1:41Speaker 1: to twenty thousand, Okay, really close. So if you haven't
- 1:46Speaker 1: already above ninety percent of the people who subscribe to
- 1:51Speaker 1: this channel, I mean not subscribe to this channel, but
- 1:53Speaker 1: those people who watch videos here, about ninety percent of
- 1:59Speaker 1: you aren't subscribed. So maybe you forgot. Maybe you don't
- 2:03Speaker 1: want to subscribe, and that's also cool, but also know,
- 2:06Speaker 1: if you like the content, the best thing you can
- 2:10Speaker 1: do is subscribe, like and share with people and obviously comment. Also,
- 2:16Speaker 1: if you didn't know, we now have memberships right here
- 2:21Speaker 1: on the channel, so you can become a member of
- 2:24Speaker 1: this channel. And what does that bring right? Okay, well,
- 2:28Speaker 1: I just put out a video that was exclusive, limited
- 2:32Speaker 1: time timed, exclusive, but exclusive, no doubt about some of
- 2:39Speaker 1: the standout features in hip hop history. I'm probably going
- 2:42Speaker 1: to do a part too, But as a member, you
- 2:44Speaker 1: can get to jump on that, right, can comment, you know, converse,
- 2:48Speaker 1: not conversate, but converse with your fellow hip hop heads.
- 2:53Speaker 1: About you know, the topic and things like that. But
- 2:56Speaker 1: also what your support does is it goes right back
- 3:02Speaker 1: into the podcast. I've done this for years at this point.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I've used support, initially from Patreon, but support from people
- 3:14Speaker 1: who listen to the podcast or watch the podcast to
- 3:18Speaker 1: purchase equipment, to pay for software to edit, to bring
- 3:24Speaker 1: new features, right, like things that make the content a
- 3:29Speaker 1: little bit more enjoyable, like I mentioned, like you're using
- 3:32Speaker 1: the proper software. Maybe it's a certain tier I'd like
- 3:34Speaker 1: to get to. Obviously I don't have enough supporters to
- 3:39Speaker 1: pay for all of this, but it does pay for
- 3:41Speaker 1: a portion, and more importantly, sometimes if it's only a
- 3:45Speaker 1: couple of people, well that will pay for advertisement on
- 3:49Speaker 1: social media sites. So again, if you enjoy the content here,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you support the content. Please know that your money isn't
- 3:56Speaker 1: going to my coffee habit. Okay, because I got one. Okay,
- 4:01Speaker 1: it's not going to Oh I see Vegas got a
- 4:03Speaker 1: new chain. I bought that. No, you did not, I did.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But what you can look at is this video is
- 4:10Speaker 1: in four K. This microphone, I'm talking, the camera, you know,
- 4:15Speaker 1: maybe even the laptop, even though I paid for most
- 4:18Speaker 1: of that, and I wish you would have paid for it,
- 4:19Speaker 1: but that's just not how it works. But the software
- 4:23Speaker 1: which is monthly, So all those different things contribute to
- 4:27Speaker 1: the podcast taking your dollars and putting them to great
- 4:32Speaker 1: use based off of your interest, which is hip hop
- 4:35Speaker 1: now podcasts. So without further ado, let's get start a
- 4:40Speaker 1: big shout out to hip HOPDX, dot com, X Twitter,
- 4:47Speaker 1: you know what I mean, and a couple of places
- 4:50Speaker 1: where I'm getting some of my stories from. Let's get
- 4:52Speaker 1: right to the business stuff. Jay Z's Imagine every Players
- 4:58Speaker 1: saw a resurgence in Billboard as well as streaming up
- 5:03Speaker 1: to three hundred percent higher than previously. Imaginary Players is
- 5:10Speaker 1: one of the standout records on jay z sophomore album
- 5:14Speaker 1: that to me, is very divisive. It's not a classic,
- 5:18Speaker 1: it's a relax but as some people say it was
- 5:21Speaker 1: his wackiest album, that's not true because some of jay
- 5:25Speaker 1: Z's greatest songs are on this album. And it's not
- 5:28Speaker 1: like one or two. It's a couple of them. You
- 5:32Speaker 1: know of at least a couple that I like, but
- 5:34Speaker 1: Imaginary Players is one of them. And recently Cardi B,
- 5:39Speaker 1: who is getting a new album ready, released her version
- 5:43Speaker 1: of Imaginary players, basically using the same beat, same concept
- 5:49Speaker 1: as jay Z, where in jay Z's original record he
- 5:52Speaker 1: was talking about you know guys who were saying, you know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: they got money, but they really don't pretend, and you know,
- 6:01Speaker 1: naming all these things like where's the humma at that
- 6:03Speaker 1: you talked about in your rats? But it's not around
- 6:06Speaker 1: those ain't rolex diamonds? What you've done to that? Right,
- 6:09Speaker 1: saying I got diamonds in my rolex, but when jay
- 6:12Speaker 1: Z sees it, it's not up to snuff. So it was.
- 6:15Speaker 1: It was a flex type song. It also was a
- 6:18Speaker 1: diss to Mace. He did he dismays twice on two albums,
- 6:24Speaker 1: right he this some more hard knocked life. But this
- 6:26Speaker 1: was also like a lot of subliminals towards Mace. So
- 6:31Speaker 1: it was it was a lot of you know, it
- 6:33Speaker 1: was a very dope record back then. What Cardi B
- 6:36Speaker 1: did was her version of that, and it's pretty dope
- 6:40Speaker 1: now what she says, she had a line, uh she Now,
- 6:46Speaker 1: this is a family podcast. I know some may have
- 6:49Speaker 1: seen me on other podcast cursing, but not here. Okay,
- 6:51Speaker 1: not this one. We cussed on the last one. Not again, okay,
- 6:55Speaker 1: but she said a line like, y'all, glory glory holes.
- 7:01Speaker 1: You don't know who you fing with, that's a bar, okay.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And if you don't know what a glory hole is,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I'm not really going to tell you. I'll just say this.
- 7:12Speaker 1: If you go to google it, put it on private
- 7:16Speaker 1: because you don't know what's going to come up on
- 7:18Speaker 1: your screen. Do not do it at work, do it
- 7:21Speaker 1: on your phone, and you can't get rid of it.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Don't do any of that. If anything, the safest way
- 7:26Speaker 1: is just to ask somebody you know. Okay, the best
- 7:30Speaker 1: thing you can do is ask somebody you know. But
- 7:33Speaker 1: it's still a bar, and you know. Obviously, the streams
- 7:39Speaker 1: went up because there are a number of fans of
- 7:43Speaker 1: Cardi B who probably never heard the original, and then
- 7:46Speaker 1: when they heard it was a jay Z record who
- 7:50Speaker 1: they do know, and they, for some reason they think
- 7:52Speaker 1: Beyonce made them famous, which is crazy. They went and
- 7:58Speaker 1: looked it up and to listen to the original, maybe
- 8:02Speaker 1: to compare them. For those of us who heard it,
- 8:05Speaker 1: we might have went back and said, y'all, I want
- 8:07Speaker 1: to run this back and listen to it again. I
- 8:09Speaker 1: haven't heard that song in a while. I haven't heard
- 8:11Speaker 1: that album in a while. So nevertheless, jay Z benefited
- 8:15Speaker 1: from Cardi b doing this over, but more importantly, she
- 8:20Speaker 1: did an excellent job, Like that was just one bar gave.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But again, if you think of the essence of the
- 8:26Speaker 1: original and what jay Z was saying and who he
- 8:29Speaker 1: was talking about in that original, I mean, what do
- 8:35Speaker 1: you want? You know what I'm saying? What more do
- 8:39Speaker 1: you want? Maam? Like, at the end of the day,
- 8:42Speaker 1: it is what it is, So I enjoyed it. I
- 8:47Speaker 1: don't think this will be any indication of what her
- 8:49Speaker 1: album will be. So if you're feeling like, WHOA, that
- 8:52Speaker 1: record was crazy, I think I'm gonna go check out
- 8:54Speaker 1: what Cardi has to offer. It's not going to be
- 8:58Speaker 1: all that, right, not going to be a bunch of
- 9:02Speaker 1: bars and stuff like that. Maybe a couple of other
- 9:05Speaker 1: records will be, but that one in particular, that's just
- 9:08Speaker 1: what it is, So enjoy it for what it is. Next,
- 9:15Speaker 1: So the dude Fabio Faran appeared on Jim Jones's new podcast.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Maybe that's why he kept saying all the nonsense he
- 9:23Speaker 1: was saying, but he essentially said that he couldn't really
- 9:28Speaker 1: spit a nas bar. The only I think he said
- 9:31Speaker 1: the only record he knew was one mic or that
- 9:38Speaker 1: he was familiar with. Now, keep in mind, Faiofarhan was
- 9:42Speaker 1: on NAS's album that came out not that long ago,
- 9:46Speaker 1: five years ago to be exact, King's Disease Won, which
- 9:50Speaker 1: is crazy because it seemed now he now, I watched
- 9:55Speaker 1: him say this, right, so I didn't take quotes based
- 9:59Speaker 1: off of what he said, even though I think I
- 10:01Speaker 1: have a quote here. Yeah, he says, all right, let's
- 10:05Speaker 1: just get the quote. This is on hip Hop d
- 10:08Speaker 1: x dot com. You can find an interview on or
- 10:12Speaker 1: the clip of the interview on Jim Jos's Instagram page.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I know somebody's saying, right now, why would I follow
- 10:19Speaker 1: Jim Jones. Hey, he dropped a new album this year.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I kind of like it. I'm just saying, but this
- 10:24Speaker 1: is what fabio'faran said. I'm not saying that the man
- 10:28Speaker 1: is whack. He's he's he's a legend. Wait. I was
- 10:34Speaker 1: confused because it looked like he said he's not a legend. Okay,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'm not saying that the man is whack. He's not
- 10:40Speaker 1: a legend. I got a song with the N word.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I got a song on the album, and the album
- 10:45Speaker 1: got a Grammy, but I can't sit there and say
- 10:50Speaker 1: a NAS bar to you or a song I like
- 10:55Speaker 1: one mic. So that's what he said. Now, part of
- 11:02Speaker 1: me is not upset about it from the standpoint of,
- 11:09Speaker 1: you know, him being younger than some of us. Right, You,
- 11:13Speaker 1: certain things weren't on the radio. Even if NAS was
- 11:16Speaker 1: dropping albums. That didn't mean like because Fabio Farns from
- 11:19Speaker 1: New York, that didn't mean like NAS was being played
- 11:22Speaker 1: all over the radio. And why like that? Honestly, it
- 11:26Speaker 1: wasn't that culture of catching the latest bars and hip
- 11:31Speaker 1: hop on New York radio. You sometimes you don't even
- 11:35Speaker 1: get that on Funk Master Flex show anymore at night.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So I get it if the attention was on other
- 11:43Speaker 1: artists for him, right, but at some point as a
- 11:48Speaker 1: guy because he's an artist, also as a guy who
- 11:51Speaker 1: does this verything in hip hop and NAS is still active,
- 11:57Speaker 1: it's just irresponsible to say again, he's saying he's whack.
- 12:00Speaker 1: He's not saying that he's not a legend. He's just
- 12:03Speaker 1: saying that, you know, he couldn't spit a bar. Now,
- 12:08Speaker 1: let me just say this, he's there to say that
- 12:13Speaker 1: in Jim Jones's case, to support Jim Jose's case of
- 12:16Speaker 1: the kids know my music, but they don't know NAS.
- 12:21Speaker 1: To Jim Jones, that makes them relevant. Jim Jones, I
- 12:25Speaker 1: like your album, but you will never be You've never made,
- 12:27Speaker 1: never spit one bar, You've never had any impact close
- 12:33Speaker 1: to NAS. And the fact that the kids know your
- 12:37Speaker 1: music is a little bit more disturbing, not because your
- 12:40Speaker 1: music is better or more popular, but because you dressed
- 12:44Speaker 1: like them and you kind of act like them. I
- 12:49Speaker 1: say all that to say, you're kind of immature. So
- 12:52Speaker 1: there's a way now. Again, Dipsett had their impact later,
- 12:56Speaker 1: so that plays a role, and Jim Jimmy was a
- 12:59Speaker 1: part of that, and he wasn't a whack part of that.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Like I'm not even going to try to pretend that either.
- 13:05Speaker 1: He wasn't. But at the same time, we know why
- 13:11Speaker 1: this is circulating because it got him some attention, and
- 13:16Speaker 1: here's somebody who can prove his point. Now here's the
- 13:18Speaker 1: other thing. Fafio Farren is whacked in me. He is like,
- 13:24Speaker 1: he's not a good rapper to me. Now, he was
- 13:26Speaker 1: kind of a good actor. When I saw him on
- 13:29Speaker 1: what was it? Canaan? I thought he was good like
- 13:33Speaker 1: and even though he was playing the rapper, he had personality,
- 13:39Speaker 1: And I'm not saying you should quit rapping. There are people
- 13:41Speaker 1: obviously like him, but I felt like when I heard
- 13:45Speaker 1: every time I heard him, he wasn't good and I
- 13:48Speaker 1: like pop smoke better. Like pop smoke to me, had
- 13:51Speaker 1: the voice, the cadence, the allure, like he kind of
- 13:55Speaker 1: just pop smoke. Felt like he was Now I know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: Pause God's but he was touching Pause other generations with
- 14:06Speaker 1: his music because I know a lot of people from
- 14:07Speaker 1: my era who kind of liked pop smoke also. But
- 14:12Speaker 1: Faviofarign is just too basic. Jim is better than him.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Jimmy's way better than him to me, you know what
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm saying. So that's the other thing. Your taste in
- 14:23Speaker 1: hip hop is probably tied to your ability in hip hop. Right.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I can't do what NASA is doing, so my interest
- 14:33Speaker 1: is kind of But Jimmy talks the stuff that I like,
- 14:40Speaker 1: and I grew up on dipset, so maybe it's that.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So I'm not trying to make excuses for him. I'm
- 14:45Speaker 1: not trying to kill him for it. I'm just giving
- 14:47Speaker 1: my opinion. I don't think he's that good of a rapper.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I don't think he's lying about what he's saying about
- 14:54Speaker 1: Nas as far as him not knowing, but the fact
- 14:58Speaker 1: that a hit boy run just happened and it wasn't
- 15:01Speaker 1: just us, It wasn't just the old heads that was
- 15:04Speaker 1: going crazy. I saw it. You can go to YouTube
- 15:07Speaker 1: now you see cats younger than five or foreign listening
- 15:11Speaker 1: to Elmatic and loving it. So stop even putting that
- 15:15Speaker 1: information out there, like, oh, he's a legend, but I
- 15:18Speaker 1: don't really listen to it, because that says to the
- 15:20Speaker 1: kids who don't even know who Nas is, he's not
- 15:23Speaker 1: worth my time because the guy I liked him, it
- 15:26Speaker 1: seems stupid. And lastly, so because I did a special
- 15:34Speaker 1: bonus episode of this podcast, I was almost not going
- 15:39Speaker 1: to do an episode and I probably won't have one
- 15:42Speaker 1: next week. If you're from the future, what are you
- 15:44Speaker 1: talking about, Get your ass out of head? This already
- 15:45Speaker 1: is probably already October, okay, But I wasn't going to
- 15:50Speaker 1: do an episode this week, but I had to because
- 15:54Speaker 1: I felt like two albums went by that I least
- 15:59Speaker 1: needed to put my review out there. And the first
- 16:03Speaker 1: one we're going to talk about is Chance to Rapper's
- 16:06Speaker 1: brand new album entitled star Line. This is the third
- 16:12Speaker 1: album for Chance to Rapper. Obviously he wanted Grammy for
- 16:18Speaker 1: excuse me. His debut which used to be talked about
- 16:21Speaker 1: as a mixtape. But just like Section eighty now they're
- 16:25Speaker 1: trying to say it's an album. Dog. They were saying
- 16:27Speaker 1: mixtape when it dropped. Okay, but Coloring Book, which to me,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I'm not gonna hold you, that's a classic. To me,
- 16:35Speaker 1: that's a classic album. No bar king, relax, it's not
- 16:41Speaker 1: barred up and nobody's getting shot and drinking and standing
- 16:44Speaker 1: on the block. It's just a really good album musically,
- 16:48Speaker 1: his rapping and all that. It's great. If you never
- 16:50Speaker 1: checked it out, check it out. Good variety in hip hop.
- 16:55Speaker 1: His last album dropped and I forget the name is
- 16:57Speaker 1: the one where he's holding like a clear CD. Understand that,
- 17:00Speaker 1: but I don't care about that part. Most people didn't
- 17:03Speaker 1: like it. They felt like it was lackluster. I liked it.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I thought it was cool. I like Chance to Rap.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I like him, you know what I'm saying. I don't
- 17:12Speaker 1: know him personally, but I like his voice. I like
- 17:18Speaker 1: his style of rapping. He's out of Chicago. If you
- 17:21Speaker 1: didn't know, I like this song choices most of the time,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I like the beats. So going into a third album
- 17:30Speaker 1: where I feel like one is a classic and this
- 17:32Speaker 1: one was good. What does this new album, star Line
- 17:36Speaker 1: sound like? So before we get into that, I just
- 17:40Speaker 1: need to let the new people know. So people who
- 17:43Speaker 1: been here just chill. You already know what I'm gonna say.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But this is my review scale. I basically give the
- 17:51Speaker 1: album three listens, right, three listens off the rip to
- 17:57Speaker 1: basically one get my first impressions. Just listen to the
- 18:03Speaker 1: album whatever, whatever's there, just listen. My second listen is
- 18:07Speaker 1: typically to listen intently, listen to the lyrics, beats, the concept,
- 18:13Speaker 1: all that good stuff. And the third listen is just
- 18:16Speaker 1: to confirm my thoughts. So star Line Chance to Rapers
- 18:22Speaker 1: third album. They're about seventeen songs. Total runtime is an
- 18:28Speaker 1: hour and eight minutes. Total features include Gough or Die,
- 18:35Speaker 1: bj the Chicago Kid, and Vic Minster, Joey Badass, Young
- 18:39Speaker 1: Thug is on here, Lil Wayne's on here, Jay Electronicas
- 18:43Speaker 1: on here, Jasmine Sullivan. It's a roster of people. And
- 18:50Speaker 1: for those who need to quick review. When I was
- 18:53Speaker 1: done with my three listens, it's another good album. Now,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I feel like it starts off really and then somewhere
- 19:02Speaker 1: in the middle. I kind of got to the point,
- 19:05Speaker 1: especially on the third list and where it was like
- 19:07Speaker 1: one or two tracks, I was like, I'll probably skip
- 19:10Speaker 1: those because even though again songs are meaningful, whatever's there
- 19:17Speaker 1: is meaningful. I felt like some of the sonic ground
- 19:23Speaker 1: had already been covered in the first couple of records,
- 19:27Speaker 1: or also it didn't feel like it matched the tone
- 19:32Speaker 1: of what was set, because the tone of what was
- 19:34Speaker 1: set went on for so long that I felt like,
- 19:37Speaker 1: this is the vibe of the album. Oh wait a minute,
- 19:39Speaker 1: there's a whole other vibe happened in that. So it
- 19:42Speaker 1: was one of those, and I noticed that happened with
- 19:44Speaker 1: a couple of rappers recently that I listened to. Where
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's somewhere in the middle, things start to switch up
- 19:52Speaker 1: and we don't know if it's going to go downhill
- 19:55Speaker 1: from there or be a roller coaster or stayed the course.
- 20:00Speaker 1: With this album, I feel like it's more of a
- 20:01Speaker 1: roller coaster towards that middle park to the end. But
- 20:05Speaker 1: there's way more songs on here I like than not.
- 20:10Speaker 1: I think it's I think it's a great album. I
- 20:12Speaker 1: think it's the comeback that I assume so most of
- 20:17Speaker 1: his fans would want based off of his second album. Again,
- 20:23Speaker 1: I liked it, but I know a lot of people
- 20:26Speaker 1: who didn't like. That was a common saying about his
- 20:29Speaker 1: second album. Yeah, we don't like it. Let me just
- 20:33Speaker 1: say the name, because that's driving me crazy that I'm
- 20:35Speaker 1: not saying the name of the album when I could
- 20:38Speaker 1: just look it up right here. The Big Day that
- 20:41Speaker 1: was the name of it. And I think that was
- 20:43Speaker 1: a double album. Yeah, basically twenty two songs. So his
- 20:48Speaker 1: last album was in twenty nineteen. So if you like
- 20:52Speaker 1: Chance to Rapper and you were kind of so so
- 20:55Speaker 1: on the last album from him, check this one out.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I think it's good. I think it's one of the
- 21:01Speaker 1: better albums of the year. But again, when it comes
- 21:04Speaker 1: to that list, it's going things are going to shift
- 21:08Speaker 1: because it's getting crazy now. There's so many albums on
- 21:11Speaker 1: the way. We don't know if some things will stay
- 21:15Speaker 1: that Clip's album staying in my top five, know what
- 21:17Speaker 1: I'm saying. Next up, Highly Anticipated. We waited, waited and
- 21:25Speaker 1: waited when we heard about it. We heard different things
- 21:29Speaker 1: about the album. It's been in the works for a
- 21:31Speaker 1: long time. Supreme Clientele two by ghost Face just dropped.
- 21:36Speaker 1: It is the third release in Mass Appeals seven Icons
- 21:42Speaker 1: seven albums. I think Mob Deep is up next, either
- 21:45Speaker 1: Mob Deep or Big L but I think it's Mob Deep.
- 21:49Speaker 1: But now Well, first we got Slick Ray, then we
- 21:54Speaker 1: got Ray Kwan, and now we get his partner in
- 21:57Speaker 1: Ryn ghost Face Killer. On this album. There are twenty
- 22:02Speaker 1: two tracks including skits, but the album is only fifty minutes.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Features include Method Man, Nim Sun God, Jizza's on here, obviously,
- 22:17Speaker 1: Ray Kwan's on his styles, p Conway, the Machine, Mop
- 22:22Speaker 1: and Nas is on this album. And for those who
- 22:26Speaker 1: need to quick review, it is a good album. It
- 22:33Speaker 1: is not Supreme Clientele too. I only say that because
- 22:41Speaker 1: the tone of this album feels less like Supreme, feels
- 22:46Speaker 1: less like a Supreme Clientele sequel, and it feels more
- 22:50Speaker 1: like a sequel to Fish Scare, like the types of
- 22:54Speaker 1: records you know what I'm saying, Like I don't know.
- 22:58Speaker 1: It feels in that lane Bulletproof, while it's felt more
- 23:02Speaker 1: like a Seek the original, not what Sony released with
- 23:06Speaker 1: all songs missing in tracks out of order and all
- 23:09Speaker 1: that garbage that they messed up talk about the original
- 23:12Speaker 1: track listing that felt like a sequel to Supreme Clientele.
- 23:15Speaker 1: He could have called that Supreme Clientele too, and I
- 23:18Speaker 1: would have been like, yeah it is, whereas this one
- 23:22Speaker 1: feels like it's fish scale too or pretty tony, like
- 23:29Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Or he could have just
- 23:30Speaker 1: gave it a different name, a new name. This could
- 23:33Speaker 1: have been Set the Tone. His last album called Set
- 23:36Speaker 1: the Tone had some records on it, but then there
- 23:39Speaker 1: was some experiments towards the end and it just wasn't good.
- 23:42Speaker 1: This probably should have been Set the Tone, because this
- 23:45Speaker 1: is the ghost we know and love. Yes, if you
- 23:49Speaker 1: heard me talk about it before, Gruff Voice ghost faces here,
- 23:54Speaker 1: But so is the other ghost because there's a lot
- 23:57Speaker 1: of these records were recorded a long time ago, and
- 24:00Speaker 1: his voice was different. It was what you remember. But
- 24:04Speaker 1: I'm also not mad at Gruff Voice Ghosts, and I
- 24:08Speaker 1: think that has to do a little bit with I
- 24:10Speaker 1: think there's more personality on this album, and you know
- 24:16Speaker 1: what else? Does it make this Supreme Clientele too? I
- 24:20Speaker 1: remember Ghost said he was in Africa or something like that,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and he watched the performance or saw a performance in
- 24:29Speaker 1: how like their patterns or whatever. I don't know if
- 24:33Speaker 1: somebody was singing or chanting or whatever, and he started
- 24:36Speaker 1: to do that, and that's where he came up with
- 24:38Speaker 1: those rhyms where he was just saying a bunch of
- 24:40Speaker 1: different words together. Fans think it means something. Ghosts Face
- 24:45Speaker 1: himself said it does not. I was just rhyming words
- 24:49Speaker 1: that's not on here. That to me is what doesn't
- 24:54Speaker 1: make it a sequel to Supreme Clientele too, because that
- 24:57Speaker 1: played such a huge role and why that album was
- 25:00Speaker 1: so dope. Again, this album isn't whack, but it's good
- 25:06Speaker 1: standouts for me. I like the Curtis made joint with
- 25:11Speaker 1: Styles P and Conway. The Machine Ghost does his thing,
- 25:15Speaker 1: Styles get busy, conwayed Conway get really busy on this joint.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I like the record Forth Disciple Windows Georgie Porgi. I
- 25:27Speaker 1: knew it was probably gonna have the beat that's been
- 25:30Speaker 1: used a million times, but I didn't expect Ghosts to
- 25:34Speaker 1: sing the hook. But I don't think I would have
- 25:37Speaker 1: liked it if they got an R and B person
- 25:39Speaker 1: to sing a hook, So I don't know. Maybe that
- 25:43Speaker 1: was one that could have stayed Break Beats. His Hot
- 25:49Speaker 1: beat Box might be my favorite I'm not even gonna lie.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I really liked that joint. And what else. I like
- 25:57Speaker 1: the single Meta Metaphysics Love Me More with NAS's School also,
- 26:04Speaker 1: but overall, and there's one joint I forget the name now, oh,
- 26:09Speaker 1: the Trial, which features Ray Kwon, Method Man and jizzb.
- 26:14Speaker 1: It's a concept type thing. But what I like a lot.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I really like forth disciple because it's almost like a sequel.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Remember on the into the thirty six Chambers, when you
- 26:25Speaker 1: know somebody got shot, like Ghosts is real good, unfortunately
- 26:28Speaker 1: at describing somebody being outside. In this case, I guess
- 26:32Speaker 1: it was his homie and he's, you know, he got
- 26:36Speaker 1: shot and he's dying, and ghost is describing the scenery.
- 26:41Speaker 1: But he's also telling you his thoughts and why, like
- 26:45Speaker 1: I need you not to die right now, you know,
- 26:48Speaker 1: for these reasons. He's really good at that, and he
- 26:51Speaker 1: does it again on his album. And I think this
- 26:54Speaker 1: album got the songs for the ladies. You know, he
- 26:57Speaker 1: got concepts, like I said, with the Trial, And also
- 27:02Speaker 1: there was one of the things, the skits. Now with
- 27:05Speaker 1: ray Kuon's album, he had a bunch of skits also,
- 27:09Speaker 1: but those Ray Kwon skits sometimes just be whatever, like
- 27:14Speaker 1: like what it was it long bid cop or something
- 27:16Speaker 1: like that, like Office a long Bid, Like they just
- 27:20Speaker 1: he just make them up and sometimes they're funny because
- 27:22Speaker 1: they're kind of ridiculous. Ghosts skits were definitely funny. And
- 27:28Speaker 1: remember Supreme Clientele had some classic skits on it, right.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I didn't mind the ghost skits as much, I think
- 27:37Speaker 1: because I thought they were funnier. Right, Like, he got
- 27:43Speaker 1: one that's talking about pause and he's making a statement
- 27:46Speaker 1: about it, and I think it's funny. You know, now,
- 27:50Speaker 1: what happens when I'm listening to this album again and
- 27:54Speaker 1: again and again, some of them might get skipped. I
- 28:00Speaker 1: don't know if I did that on Supreme Clientele. But again,
- 28:04Speaker 1: I feel like Supreme Clientele two it is not necessarily
- 28:08Speaker 1: a worthy successive, but it's not a whack album. It's
- 28:12Speaker 1: a good album. I think it's also one of the
- 28:16Speaker 1: better albums of the year. It's going to be tough,
- 28:19Speaker 1: like between Ray Kuon and Ghosts right now, being part
- 28:25Speaker 1: of the seven y'all know I felt about Slick Ray.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I love Slick Ray, but Chat just didn't
- 28:31Speaker 1: do it for me. But Rey and Ghosts albums, it'll
- 28:36Speaker 1: be tough to bump them out of the top ten
- 28:39Speaker 1: for me because the top ten I have so far, right,
- 28:44Speaker 1: or the top fifteen that I have so far, some
- 28:48Speaker 1: of those things were there because they were just the
- 28:50Speaker 1: best albums that had dropped since the New year. But
- 28:54Speaker 1: I think we're starting to get more content that's pretty dope,
- 28:58Speaker 1: and the more that it drops, the more I'm inclined
- 29:01Speaker 1: to go back and listen to whatever record I'm about
- 29:05Speaker 1: to bump out for this record, and vice versa. By
- 29:08Speaker 1: the end of the year, I'll have my list and
- 29:11Speaker 1: it'll be definitive, and I have my reasons why. But
- 29:14Speaker 1: Supreme Clientele two, it's a good album. It's better than
- 29:18Speaker 1: Ghost's last album, set the Tone, hands down. But if
- 29:23Speaker 1: you are expecting a truer life one to one Supreme
- 29:29Speaker 1: Clientele two, no, I feel like Only Built for Cuban
- 29:35Speaker 1: Links Too was a better sequel to rate Kwan's debut
- 29:41Speaker 1: than Supreme client Tel two is to Supreme Clientele? But
- 29:47Speaker 1: what do you think? Did you hear ghost Faces brand
- 29:50Speaker 1: new album Supreme Clientele two? Did you hear a Chance
