- 0:00Carmen Lezeth: What is that noise which sounds like a train in the background?
- 0:04Rick Costa: It's literally a train.
- 0:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, we're just going through all this drama with your system.
- 0:12Carmen Lezeth: You've been broadcasting for 18 years now.
- 0:17Rick Costa: Eight years, eight years.
- 0:18Carmen Lezeth: Eight years.
- 0:19Carmen Lezeth: Eight years, every day, without fail, and yet we're having technical difficulties.
- 0:24Carmen Lezeth: How was your week?
- 0:25Carmen Lezeth: I know you had a bad week, like I did.
- 0:27Rick Costa: Yeah, work's been crazy Busy and yeah, I still don't know like who's where, what's going on.
- 0:33Rick Costa: Well, who's in what building, what's in what building?
- 0:36Rick Costa: And then, like at the end of the day, my boss is like oh, it's getting dark, I can't see anything, so I'm going to go home.
- 0:41Rick Costa: I'm like you have no lights.
- 0:43Rick Costa: What is happening?
- 0:45Carmen Lezeth: So you have to kind of explain this, especially for people who are just listening to the audio part of this.
- 0:49Carmen Lezeth: You don't work at the site that you're talking about.
- 0:53Carmen Lezeth: You are a remote worker who has to deal with your boss and everybody else, and so you're kind of blind by whatever it is they're telling you right?
- 1:03Rick Costa: Yeah, they're in Florida.
- 1:04Rick Costa: I'm in Connecticut, I work from home and they just don't tell me what's going on.
- 1:08Rick Costa: So I'm like literally always feeling like an idiot because I don't know who's where, what's where.
- 1:14Carmen Lezeth: So why is it frustrating this week as opposed to last week?
- 1:16Carmen Lezeth: Is something worse happen, or?
- 1:18Rick Costa: Because by now everything should be situated and apparently we're still not.
- 1:24Rick Costa: And I'm like you have no lights, so you have no electricity in this new building.
- 1:28Rick Costa: What is happening?
- 1:29Rick Costa: I don't understand.
- 1:31Carmen Lezeth: So we're supposed to have a mystery guest, and so here's the thing.
- 1:35Carmen Lezeth: I am going to say.
- 1:36Carmen Lezeth: His name, tommy Lee, who's an old school friend of mine from back in the day, reached out and said he wanted to be on the show and our schedules kind of got a little bit crossed so he might be able to make it later.
- 1:47Carmen Lezeth: So we may or may not have a guest coming up, just so everybody knows.
- 1:52Carmen Lezeth: That's why I wrote mystery guest, but it's no mystery to be my friend.
- 1:55Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I cannot believe.
- 1:57Carmen Lezeth: I just said his name and he's trying to come up.
- 1:59Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but I don't know if he's actually on.
- 2:03Carmen Lezeth: I can see him a little bit.
- 2:04Carmen Lezeth: Tommy's going to have to text me, because all I see is a black screen.
- 2:09Rick Costa: Oh, his camera's not working.
- 2:10Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, tommy, can you hear us?
- 2:12Carmen Lezeth: So I'm going to lock you off and once I see you I'll put you back up, but we're having issues with your audio and your visual.
- 2:23Rick Costa: And we don't know if he can hear us.
- 2:24Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if he can hear us.
- 2:26Rick Costa: Can he see the private chat?
- 2:27Rick Costa: Maybe he should be able to see that right.
- 2:29Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, can you write in it?
- 2:30Carmen Lezeth: Are you able to write in the private chat?
- 2:33Rick Costa: Yeah, for us, for people that are on the screen, yeah.
- 2:36Carmen Lezeth: But he also has my cell phone.
- 2:37Carmen Lezeth: I mean he could text me, or I guess I just turned off my text but he could just text me or whatever.
- 2:42Carmen Lezeth: Yes, so you're going to try to help him on the chat.
- 2:46Rick Costa: Hopefully he answers my question.
- 2:49Carmen Lezeth: Oh goodness, lord, I don't, even know Computer.
- 2:52Carmen Lezeth: Okay, he's on his computer.
- 2:54Carmen Lezeth: Sorry people, we're going to have to work through this technology to see if we can get Tommy up.
- 2:58Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, this is when I should have background music so that we can all listen.
- 3:03Carmen Lezeth: Pay attention.
- 3:06Rick Costa: Actually, you have AI music built into Re-Stream that you can.
- 3:10Carmen Lezeth: I know, but I'm joking, I'm not going to play that.
- 3:12Rick Costa: Yeah, I know.
- 3:13Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so yeah, hopefully he'll be able to come back on, so that's why you were having a bad week and I'm so sorry about that.
- 3:20Carmen Lezeth: Is it going to get any better anytime soon?
- 3:24Rick Costa: I mean now they're finally starting to catch up.
- 3:26Rick Costa: So I think hopefully by Monday things should hopefully be back to normal.
- 3:30Rick Costa: So yeah.
- 3:32Carmen Lezeth: So the reason why I had a bad week but I'm finding joy in it and I wasn't going to talk about it, but I think I'm going to.
- 3:39Carmen Lezeth: So I got some bad medical news and I everyone who knows me knows I've been an athlete.
- 3:45Carmen Lezeth: I've been an athlete for a long time.
- 3:46Carmen Lezeth: Everyone who's listened to this show even a tiny little bit, knows I had hip surgery after years of having a lot of pain.
- 3:53Carmen Lezeth: I would say that the reason why I am not a choreographer or try to pursue my dream on Broadway or whatever, is because I had a hip injury when I was a teenager and it got worse and worse and worse.
- 4:09Carmen Lezeth: So after that surgery, which was a couple of years ago, I'm like my hip is great, it's fine, wonderful, and I've been having the worst and hardest time trying to get back at it and I didn't know what was wrong.
- 4:23Carmen Lezeth: So I found out some bad medical news.
- 4:26Carmen Lezeth: But I'm fine.
- 4:28Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, rick, how and I don't mean to put you on the spot, it's only because you talked about it before but you don't go to the doctors at all, right, you don't even go yearly.
- 4:37Rick Costa: Only if I'm on my deathbed.
- 4:38Rick Costa: Pretty much.
- 4:40Carmen Lezeth: I go to the doctors every year, I get a physical, I get my blood work done without fail.
- 4:45Carmen Lezeth: Whether I have insurance or not, I use the free clinic and I think it's because my mom died so young because she didn't have health insurance.
- 4:52Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 4:52Carmen Lezeth: So I'm obsessed with trying to be as healthy as possible, whatever.
- 4:56Carmen Lezeth: And so this thing that happened is a genetic thing.
- 4:58Carmen Lezeth: It's Hashimoto's disease, which is a thyroid issue, and I hate to say this, but it's actually more common than you know.
- 5:10Carmen Lezeth: Like when the doctor was telling me what was going on and why my blood work, they were worried about it or whatever.
- 5:15Carmen Lezeth: I was, of course, freaking out and crying and whatever.
- 5:18Carmen Lezeth: But it's a genetic thing.
- 5:20Carmen Lezeth: There's nothing you can do about it.
- 5:21Carmen Lezeth: I mean, you can, there's medication, but it became like this whole other trigger for me and I just like I'm going to be fine, I'm on the medication now and I have more testing next week or whatever.
- 5:31Carmen Lezeth: But like, on the one hand, it was really bad news because I've tried so hard to stay healthy or whatever.
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: On the flip side, I have an answer and I've only been taking the medication for a couple of days or for like three days and I already feel fantastic.
- 5:49Rick Costa: So even if you so, you have this condition.
- 5:51Rick Costa: It's genetic and you can like go through a lifetime and never know you have it, and then it just turns on.
- 5:58Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 5:59Carmen Lezeth: So Tommy said yes, it is something that can just happen that way.
- 6:02Carmen Lezeth: Let's see if I can.
- 6:03Carmen Lezeth: I can't see him.
- 6:05Rick Costa: I think at this point I would try the phone, and if the phone doesn't work then we're going to have to do it next time because, yeah, all right, let me call him.
- 6:12Carmen Lezeth: Sorry everyone, we're just trying to get my cool friend up on the show.
- 6:15Carmen Lezeth: There he is.
- 6:17Carmen Lezeth: Wait a second.
- 6:18Carmen Lezeth: Hey, how are you there?
- 6:19Carmen Lezeth: We?
- 6:19Rick Costa: go.
- 6:20Rick Costa: I don't think we can hear you.
- 6:20Tommy Lee: It's so good to see you oh my God, okay, the only thing, we're going to do is this Wait, wait before you start, rick.
- 6:27Tommy Lee: How do you make this happen?
- 6:35Rick Costa: So his phone goes this way can he turn it and see it?
- 6:38Rick Costa: We just want you to turn your phone.
- 6:40Rick Costa: Will it Like that?
- 6:41Rick Costa: There you go.
- 6:43Carmen Lezeth: There you go, woohoo Tommy.
- 6:46Tommy Lee: Hi Rick.
- 6:47Rick Costa: Hey, what's up?
- 6:48Tommy Lee: Oh, my God.
- 6:50Rick Costa: What are you doing?
- 6:51Rick Costa: I need a minute.
- 6:51Tommy Lee: I need a minute.
- 6:54Carmen Lezeth: I know, but why you've been watching this show.
- 6:57Carmen Lezeth: Don't get all crazy on me, baby.
- 6:59Carmen Lezeth: I you know what I called Jerry Glover after you reached out to me and I was like he wants to be on the show and he's like let him be on the show.
- 7:11Carmen Lezeth: I'm like I already told him he can be on the show, but why are you guys?
- 7:15Carmen Lezeth: I need to get him on the show.
- 7:18Carmen Lezeth: He's not going to come on the show.
- 7:21Tommy Lee: I trust you believe I will make him come on the show, okay, you need to tell Rick how you know me, since you're getting all flustered, okay.
- 7:30Carmen Lezeth: I am, I am?
- 7:31Carmen Lezeth: I comment?
- 7:33Carmen Lezeth: You're just going to make me cry and I have no idea.
- 7:35Carmen Lezeth: I'm so confused.
- 7:38Tommy Lee: All right, so you match in St Teresa West Rocksbury, correct?
- 7:44Carmen Lezeth: Right with Jerry.
- 7:45Tommy Lee: With.
- 7:46Carmen Lezeth: Jerry, I mean, he was my instructor, he was my coach.
- 7:49Tommy Lee: Right, you were captain.
- 7:50Tommy Lee: How?
- 7:51Carmen Lezeth: old were you?
- 7:51Carmen Lezeth: I was 11 and a half.
- 7:53Carmen Lezeth: My mom had just passed away, so I was 12.
- 7:56Tommy Lee: And I'm three years old than you.
- 7:58Tommy Lee: So I was 15 and I was teaching St Tres Everett.
- 8:02Carmen Lezeth: But we, we competed against each other, Didn't we?
- 8:05Tommy Lee: Yes.
- 8:06Carmen Lezeth: And I think we kicked your ass all the time.
- 8:07Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm just kidding.
- 8:08Carmen Lezeth: Yes, you did, yes, yes.
- 8:09Tommy Lee: Yes, you did, but I'm going to back up a minute.
- 8:15Rick Costa: Okay.
- 8:17Tommy Lee: So I don't think you know how Jerry and I know each other.
- 8:21Carmen Lezeth: I, I don't and I'm scared, but God.
- 8:25Tommy Lee: So, jerry, match with St Teresa West Roxbury, really when you much.
- 8:32Carmen Lezeth: Look at Laura.
- 8:33Carmen Lezeth: Laura Wall and I talked today and talked about you.
- 8:36Carmen Lezeth: Laura Wall was in San Francisco.
- 8:38Carmen Lezeth: Laura Wall, hi.
- 8:39Carmen Lezeth: Laura Wall Hi.
- 8:39Tommy Lee: Laura Wall.
- 8:40Tommy Lee: I much in St Anthony's Revere, jerry and I competed against each other.
- 8:46Tommy Lee: That's how far we go back, wow.
- 8:48Tommy Lee: Yeah, so we're talking two generations.
- 8:52Carmen Lezeth: Well, let's just say 10 years, because we don't want to age ourselves.
- 8:55Tommy Lee: Yeah, well, no, we're not.
- 8:57Rick Costa: God, what are you doing?
- 8:58Tommy Lee: I'm going, rick, I'm going to tell you something OK, and I will never, ever forget this day.
- 9:04Tommy Lee: It was Easton Mass Finals at Everett Armory, and Common was so sick, oh yeah.
- 9:11Carmen Lezeth: I was really sick.
- 9:12Tommy Lee: She had the flu or something, and I'm going to say this she was an amazing performer.
- 9:20Tommy Lee: That's why she was captain, because she was amazing and I'll never forget.
- 9:25Tommy Lee: I'm going to call you out Is that.
- 9:28Carmen Lezeth: Ok, I don't have a choice because I don't know where you're going with this, but I can edit everything, so go ahead, go ahead.
- 9:35Tommy Lee: I'll never forget.
- 9:36Tommy Lee: She was so sick.
- 9:38Tommy Lee: Common never dropped a piece of equipment in her life, ever, ever, ever.
- 9:44Tommy Lee: And it was obvious that she was sick and she almost passed out and Jerry Glover picked her up, carried her off the floor and said I'll never forget it.
- 9:59Tommy Lee: She walked right by me and she said I tried so hard.
- 10:04Tommy Lee: I tried so hard.
- 10:05Tommy Lee: I'll never forget that.
- 10:07Tommy Lee: Ok Do you remember that?
- 10:10Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I do.
- 10:11Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I was just a little kid, you know, but I, you were 11- years old.
- 10:17Tommy Lee: Are you kidding me?
- 10:18Rick Costa: Laura remembers.
- 10:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, laura, and I talked today for two hours.
- 10:22Carmen Lezeth: Laura's awesome.
- 10:24Carmen Lezeth: I know I'm getting back in touch with people, it's just it's like and then.
- 10:30Tommy Lee: I don't know if you know it or not, but when you went to Blessed Sacrament you actually matched with my cousin who was your cousin.
- 10:37Carmen Lezeth: I don't remember people that well, so who was your cousin?
- 10:40Tommy Lee: Well, she's only my cousin by marriage, because my brother married her sister who taught Saint Trays, Sandra Capitalupo.
- 10:52Carmen Lezeth: I have to see a picture, and that's you were both in the right line together.
- 10:56Tommy Lee: I'll show you a picture.
- 10:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I need a picture.
- 10:58Carmen Lezeth: I you know a lot of things that happened at Sac.
- 11:01Carmen Lezeth: I kind of blocked out.
- 11:02Carmen Lezeth: You know, as you know from my book and Laura and I were talking about this like and you know, even Jerry said this and Jerry knew me pretty well, but there was all this other stuff happening while I was performing, yeah.
- 11:16Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, I'm so sorry you're going to be stuck in the kind of I'm sorry.
- 11:20Rick Costa: Oh no.
- 11:22Tommy Lee: This is like a reunion.
- 11:23Tommy Lee: I have not seen her since she was like 15 years old, yeah Well that was when I stopped doing Color Guard, right.
- 11:32Carmen Lezeth: And then I did one year of Lancers, yeah, oh Well, you know I did.
- 11:38Carmen Lezeth: I was in JumpCore.
- 11:39Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I did one year of Summer JumpCore and I was done.
- 11:42Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know you did that, I'm done.
- 11:44Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I did one year, yeah, it was a good experience.
- 11:48Carmen Lezeth: And then I was done, yeah.
- 11:49Tommy Lee: Yeah, I did the whole thing, like you.
- 11:52Tommy Lee: I did the marching thing and then I did the teaching thing and then I did the jumping thing and you did.
- 11:58Tommy Lee: You were judging too.
- 11:59Tommy Lee: Oh, I just stopped judging, like maybe four years ago.
- 12:04Carmen Lezeth: OK, I'm going to give some background.
- 12:05Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, clearly you can tell this is all like.
- 12:08Carmen Lezeth: So Color Guard and JumpCore, it's all like band stuff or whatever Does that make sense?
- 12:12Carmen Lezeth: And flags and rifles, and there's all this performing and I was going to ask for clarification.
- 12:17Carmen Lezeth: OK, I'm so sorry, like we're just all like you could just leave if you want.
- 12:21Carmen Lezeth: No, so I love you, but yeah.
- 12:24Carmen Lezeth: So that's kind of what we're talking about.
- 12:26Carmen Lezeth: We're talking about that time together and the thing is, we all rehearsed so much it was our life.
- 12:32Carmen Lezeth: Well, I shouldn't say that because, yeah, no, no, it was our life.
- 12:36Carmen Lezeth: It was our life Right.
- 12:38Carmen Lezeth: It was my saving grace.
- 12:39Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it was my saving grace, but I remember that performance and I think straight after that they took me to the hospital.
- 12:46Carmen Lezeth: There was one time they took me straight to the hospital but I had really bad asthma, and so that's what part of the problem was, is I had the flu but I also had asthma, so it was a combination.
- 12:59Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, I'll never forget that day.
- 13:02Tommy Lee: I will never, ever, ever, ever forget that day.
- 13:05Tommy Lee: And I went over to Jerry and I was like, is she OK?
- 13:07Tommy Lee: He's like, yeah, she's going to be OK.
- 13:09Tommy Lee: I'm like Jerry, she's like, I'm like Darcy, she's going to be OK.
- 13:12Tommy Lee: I'm going to say this, ok, and I can say this I'm going to say this as, first and foremost, your friend.
- 13:21Tommy Lee: I'm going to say this as an instructor and I'm going to say this as somebody who judged this.
- 13:28Tommy Lee: This lady, oh God, common, I can't handle.
- 13:34Tommy Lee: This Is amazing.
- 13:36Tommy Lee: When I tell you an amazing performer, like if I had to equal her to somebody, I would say she was Bet Midler or Boba Streisand.
- 13:48Tommy Lee: Stop it.
- 13:50Carmen Lezeth: Tommy.
- 13:50Carmen Lezeth: People are going to think you're a guy.
- 13:52Carmen Lezeth: Are you out of your mind, Carmen?
- 13:54Carmen Lezeth: I just told Laura we have to talk about something else.
- 14:00Tommy Lee: Now, when I say that, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
- 14:05Tommy Lee: That is a crazy.
- 14:06Tommy Lee: This lady is that talented.
- 14:09Tommy Lee: Oh my God.
- 14:11Rick Costa: Do you need some tissues?
- 14:12Tommy Lee: And I cannot believe.
- 14:15Tommy Lee: I am honored that you and I are face to face.
- 14:21Carmen Lezeth: But you could have reached out to me any time.
- 14:24Carmen Lezeth: I would have.
- 14:25Carmen Lezeth: I mean, here's the other thing.
- 14:26Carmen Lezeth: I called Laura today and I apologize to her because I don't reach out to people either, but I always OK.
- 14:35Carmen Lezeth: So here's what I told Laura today, and some people who might be watching, who are part of that world, are going to probably get upset.
- 14:40Carmen Lezeth: You know, I was really in my own little world back then.
- 14:44Tommy Lee: Oh my God, Laura is here right now.
- 14:46Tommy Lee: Yeah, what did you?
- 14:49Carmen Lezeth: Oh my, God, you were near the whole time.
- 14:53Tommy Lee: You were near the whole time.
- 14:55Tommy Lee: I was not looking in the comments.
- 14:58Carmen Lezeth: Hi, laura, yeah, yes, I talked to her.
- 15:02Carmen Lezeth: She's always.
- 15:03Carmen Lezeth: She always stops by the show.
- 15:05Carmen Lezeth: She's like one of the biggest supporters.
- 15:07Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 15:08Tommy Lee: OMG yeah, laura Wall.
- 15:11Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you should talk to her.
- 15:12Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I don't want to out her on something she told me I'm not going to lie.
- 15:16Tommy Lee: I feel like I am in the presence of royalty right now.
- 15:23Carmen Lezeth: Well, rick is a king.
- 15:24Carmen Lezeth: There's no doubt about it, hey, bobby.
- 15:26Rick Costa: And I'm like can I get your autographed car?
- 15:28Carmen Lezeth: money.
- 15:28Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I'm going to start charging.
- 15:31Carmen Lezeth: I used to do autographs.
- 15:33Carmen Lezeth: That was like the weirdest thing, like especially, do you remember the Cavaliers?
- 15:38Carmen Lezeth: That's when I knew I was big time when the Cavaliers.
- 15:41Tommy Lee: I'm not who.
- 15:42Carmen Lezeth: Cavaliers is you, that's right.
- 15:45Tommy Lee: You did.
- 15:45Tommy Lee: Yeah, do you remember?
- 15:49Carmen Lezeth: Oh my god.
- 15:50Carmen Lezeth: Well, yeah, cora Smith was my bus partner in Lancer's.
- 15:53Carmen Lezeth: That's, that's right.
- 15:55Tommy Lee: I was wondering Wait wait, wait.
- 15:57Carmen Lezeth: Look what Laura just said.
- 15:58Carmen Lezeth: I wasn't going to out her, but she said she had a crush on you.
- 16:01Carmen Lezeth: She told me today I was like well, because, tommy, you are fine, you know, you know fine, ok, like you just embarrassed the hell out of me for 20 minutes.
- 16:16Carmen Lezeth: Let's talk about how fine ass you are.
- 16:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, talking about my performing.
- 16:24Rick Costa: Come on.
- 16:25Tommy Lee: Yeah, I matched with you know what?
- 16:28Tommy Lee: That's right, you did match with Cavaliers and I matched with Madison Scouts.
- 16:31Tommy Lee: Bonnie Story, you match.
- 16:34Tommy Lee: Do you remember Carol Dimwitty?
- 16:37Carmen Lezeth: Pictures.
- 16:37Carmen Lezeth: I need pictures, I'm a big show.
- 16:40Tommy Lee: Very, carol Dimwitty.
- 16:41Tommy Lee: Ok, mary Ann Catrone.
- 16:43Tommy Lee: Hey, ted.
- 16:44Carmen Lezeth: Hey, ted, do we have to do a hard seven?
- 16:46Carmen Lezeth: You have a show at seven.
- 16:47Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, tommy.
- 16:49Carmen Lezeth: Mary Ann Catrone, do you?
- 16:50Tommy Lee: remember her.
- 16:51Tommy Lee: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 16:52Tommy Lee: Aggie, I'm still good friends.
- 16:54Tommy Lee: Aggie Lubie's Aggie, I'm still good friends All right, so she was badass.
- 17:00Carmen Lezeth: I liked Mary Ann Catrone.
- 17:01Carmen Lezeth: It was Uh.
- 17:04Tommy Lee: God, it was a, it was drum core season.
- 17:06Tommy Lee: There was a show at Maldon Stadium.
- 17:08Tommy Lee: This is how I got into Madison.
- 17:10Tommy Lee: Scouts Carol and Maryam were like, oh yeah, he can spin.
- 17:14Tommy Lee: And he and um he taught the rifle line.
- 17:22Carmen Lezeth: And I don't know, let's see what you can do.
- 17:25Tommy Lee: So there I am on your sidewalk.
- 17:27Tommy Lee: I'm not kidding you on the sidewalk spinning a rifle, doing turn around, catching your back.
- 17:35Tommy Lee: He goes, go home, get your clothes, get on the bus.
- 17:39Tommy Lee: Oh, sell, sell, sell us Sell sell.
- 17:43Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, yeah, wait, wait, wait.
- 17:44Carmen Lezeth: You didn't have to audition, that was it.
- 17:47Tommy Lee: That was my audition Awesome no, it wasn't awesome.
- 17:52Carmen Lezeth: Oh why?
- 17:53Carmen Lezeth: Why Everyone hated you.
- 17:55Tommy Lee: Well no, I went home at like 10 o'clock at night the next time over because remember I lived in Everett and the ship was in Maldon and I was packing my bag.
- 18:05Tommy Lee: My mother was like where you going?
- 18:06Tommy Lee: I'm like I'm going on tour.
- 18:10Rick Costa: Just like that.
- 18:14Carmen Lezeth: Just like that when.
- 18:15Tommy Lee: I tell you she was furious.
- 18:18Tommy Lee: And then all of a sudden I'm not kidding you, Carmen there I am sitting on a bus, traveling, and I'm thinking to myself what am I doing?
- 18:28Carmen Lezeth: No, that's the best way.
- 18:30Carmen Lezeth: It was the best thing I ever did.
- 18:34Carmen Lezeth: That's awesome.
- 18:35Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know that story.
- 18:38Carmen Lezeth: I did not know, okay, wait, I knew.
- 18:40Carmen Lezeth: I knew that I was okay, it's going to be big ego, but I knew I had made it or was a great performer when the Cavaliers who were doing James Bond remember they were doing James Bond, like that you remember that year, right, I remember that year I was up with the tuxedos.
- 18:59Carmen Lezeth: I was up to that, oh man, okay.
- 19:02Carmen Lezeth: So I knew I made it.
- 19:05Carmen Lezeth: When they came out, and they came out and came to me and asked me for an autograph, yeah, and I was like, okay, oh my God, you know, I remember that.
- 19:17Tommy Lee: Oh my God, this is amazing.
- 19:20Tommy Lee: I was like.
- 19:20Tommy Lee: I was like wait, I know her.
- 19:23Carmen Lezeth: Wait, and me and Aggie.
- 19:24Carmen Lezeth: Okay, cause this is the vivid memory I have of me and Aggie, so Aggie's there with me, or whatever, and the Cavaliers are all coming up.
- 19:31Carmen Lezeth: Rick, are you bored out of your mind?
- 19:32Rick Costa: I'm so sorry.
- 19:33Rick Costa: No, I'm enjoying it.
- 19:35Carmen Lezeth: So all the Cavaliers come out, we exchange autographs or whatever and then we start having like a rifle spinning, spinning thing.
- 19:43Carmen Lezeth: Yes, I remember that.
- 19:45Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, it was so much fun, it was awesome and I just that's when I felt the most kind of like I, I felt like I was on cause they were, you guys were amazing that was a great year, when I tell you.
- 20:01Tommy Lee: I cried all the way from Dayton, Ohio, back to Boston, cause that was my last year I aged out.
- 20:09Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I didn't know that that was when I aged out.
- 20:11Carmen Lezeth: That was a great year to age out, cause that was a masterpiece show man.
- 20:17Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I was like I'm not sure what it was, but I think it was a great year.
- 20:22Tommy Lee: I think it was a great year for me.
- 20:23Tommy Lee: It was.
- 20:23Tommy Lee: I loved them back then.
- 20:24Tommy Lee: It was a fun show, but I gotta be honest with you.
- 20:29Carmen Lezeth: You know you've been captain.
- 20:30Carmen Lezeth: Yeah it's, it wasn't easy.
- 20:31Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, nothing.
- 20:31Carmen Lezeth: Any of it was easy.
- 20:32Carmen Lezeth: What is?
- 20:32Carmen Lezeth: It, and you know like we would throw in your equipment across the fucking yes Gymnasium.
- 20:41Carmen Lezeth: Yes, linda, really lucky that we had, we could have people outside that I was captain for West Side Story.
- 21:12Tommy Lee: Oh, I was amazing.
- 21:14Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 21:14Carmen Lezeth: Rick, imagine this All these gorgeous men in tuxedos, because the Cavaliers were all men, so they already had that going for them.
- 21:26Carmen Lezeth: They were all good looking, they were all dancers, they were all performers, I mean.
- 21:31Carmen Lezeth: And then all the equipment.
- 21:32Carmen Lezeth: I mean it was just amazing.
- 21:33Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 21:34Carmen Lezeth: It was fun Linda just said is in the Norwalk Hot Shots drum corps please, and fire department ran.
- 21:40Carmen Lezeth: Oh, the police and fire department ran.
- 21:42Carmen Lezeth: Oh, police and fire, okay, okay, well, people have to make the connection like.
- 21:47Carmen Lezeth: I remember there was a time when we were so snooty about bands versus drum corps.
- 21:52Carmen Lezeth: Yes, do you remember that?
- 21:55Carmen Lezeth: You can't do that.
- 21:56Carmen Lezeth: You gotta be able to connect people.
- 21:58Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 21:59Tommy Lee: So I love what I hear yeah absolutely.
- 22:02Carmen Lezeth: And you know what's funny?
- 22:03Carmen Lezeth: What's our class of 83 WHS?
- 22:06Carmen Lezeth: What's WHS, bobby?
- 22:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what that is.
- 22:09Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead.
- 22:10Carmen Lezeth: No, tommy, not you.
- 22:11Carmen Lezeth: I was talking about Bobby's stamp.
- 22:13Carmen Lezeth: She wrote an acronym.
- 22:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what it is.
- 22:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I know, I'm trying to figure it out myself.
- 22:17Carmen Lezeth: We just had a 40th reunion oh cool, Awesome, congratulations.
- 22:23Tommy Lee: Something high school.
- 22:23Tommy Lee: I just had my 43 shut up.
- 22:26Tommy Lee: Wait a minute, what are you talking?
- 22:28Carmen Lezeth: about 40th.
- 22:29Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm gonna have to call you later to find out how the hell old you are.
- 22:32Rick Costa: You're just gonna go in the aisle baby.
- 22:33Carmen Lezeth: what is happening here?
- 22:35Carmen Lezeth: Well, I was shocked because I didn't realize how old Jerry was, but in my head not old like that, but he's clearly older than I am.
- 22:43Carmen Lezeth: But you know, jerry was my mentor, basically right, he was one of my mentors and him and Susan Kerwin- he's amazing.
- 22:51Tommy Lee: Honestly, like Rick, you have no idea, this guy.
- 22:54Carmen Lezeth: Well, he read the book, so he knows the story of when he doesn't know the story.
- 22:58Carmen Lezeth: You have the book, yeah, so in the book when I'm auditioning, when they tell me you don't have to audition you already, captain, we're just doing this to like bridge every.
- 23:08Carmen Lezeth: It was horrible and I was so upset about it because I wanted to audition.
- 23:11Carmen Lezeth: But I'll tell you this I've never, I never auditioned, ever for anything when I was in not even for.
- 23:17Carmen Lezeth: Blessed Sacrament.
- 23:18Carmen Lezeth: No, they wanted me the first.
- 23:21Carmen Lezeth: Karen Kelly wanted me the first year.
- 23:24Tommy Lee: Karen Kelly is my best friend like.
- 23:27Carmen Lezeth: I love her.
- 23:28Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I haven't talked to him forever, but we.
- 23:31Tommy Lee: Talk every day.
- 23:32Tommy Lee: We talked together.
- 23:34Carmen Lezeth: She's cool so and I love her little quips on Facebook.
- 23:37Carmen Lezeth: But you know, she tried to get me the first year and I wouldn't go because I was like I don't want to be because, remember, the year before the first rock and roll dance thing of Majigui they did, they did that whole Kind of slutty Fantastic, yeah, no, the before the first Rockwood, oh, lady is a tramp and and they worked their magic with that and I was like, oh no, that is not me, I am not because she wouldn't tell me that it was the Rockwood that they were changing.
- 24:07Carmen Lezeth: But I didn't regret that at all.
- 24:09Carmen Lezeth: I was there during glamorous life.
- 24:11Tommy Lee: So you know, hey, that was wait you were there for glamorous life and you were there for Rockwood sack right.
- 24:18Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I was there for the second Rockwood sack and glamorous life yeah.
- 24:22Tommy Lee: I didn't know these.
- 24:26Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I was there for that.
- 24:27Tommy Lee: Yeah, and then oh, I'm gonna watch that video and look for you.
- 24:31Carmen Lezeth: Oh God, don't say that people gonna be looking for stuff.
- 24:33Carmen Lezeth: I've never even seen ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure.
- 24:41Carmen Lezeth: Massachusetts.
- 24:49Tommy Lee: Lammers life and I'm pretty sure you're gonna see this lovely.
- 24:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I already looked.
- 24:55Carmen Lezeth: You really can't see anything like you can see it, but it's all fuzzy and stuff.
- 24:59Tommy Lee: Yeah all right.
- 25:00Tommy Lee: I'll tell you if you go on.
- 25:07Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm scared oh.
- 25:09Tommy Lee: Lord, if you go on YouTube and I hate that I did this.
- 25:13Tommy Lee: Even my brother said to me why did you do that?
- 25:16Tommy Lee: I was like I have no idea.
- 25:18Tommy Lee: It's just I.
- 25:19Tommy Lee: I don't know.
- 25:20Tommy Lee: I just did it when I matched with.
- 25:29Carmen Lezeth: We would have a liars, and we have a liars side story.
- 25:32Tommy Lee: Yeah, you know, they said all the judges ready.
- 25:35Tommy Lee: Right is the color God, ready Common I have no idea what this came from Walked out front and I went why I?
- 25:49Tommy Lee: I have no idea, I have.
- 25:52Tommy Lee: No, I didn't work.
- 25:54Carmen Lezeth: Did it work?
- 25:54Carmen Lezeth: It was one, so I guess it.
- 25:57Carmen Lezeth: By the way, the Cavaliers were like national champions, for I came up we came off the floor.
- 26:04Tommy Lee: We came off the floor and my brother and my sister-in-law was able like where did that come from?
- 26:09Tommy Lee: I'm like I have no.
- 26:11Tommy Lee: It's being a natural performer.
- 26:13Tommy Lee: I have no idea what that came from.
- 26:15Tommy Lee: It's a natural performer.
- 26:17Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I just know.
- 26:18Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, we're good yeah so here's the thing.
- 26:21Carmen Lezeth: So okay, we have to give it some context, because Rick's like I don't understand what the big drama is.
- 26:26Carmen Lezeth: Usually, before you start your performance, the judges ask the team if they're ready and the team is not the right word, but that's what I'm using to explain it and they ask you if you're ready, and then you do like a salute, you do something fancy, whatever, and he's saying he just went out, went like yeah, we got you, or whatever.
- 26:46Tommy Lee: Like we're good, like other people.
- 26:49Tommy Lee: Other people would come out and be like salute.
- 26:52Carmen Lezeth: Yeah right, we do something major, you know.
- 26:56Tommy Lee: What was her name?
- 26:57Tommy Lee: Who was your captain at blesses app?
- 26:59Tommy Lee: With a long blonde hair?
- 27:01Carmen Lezeth: Robin.
- 27:02Tommy Lee: Robin, yeah, robin, she was.
- 27:04Tommy Lee: Yeah, yeah, right, right, yeah, everybody would do something different.
- 27:10Carmen Lezeth: Right, I just be like, do I I?
- 27:16Tommy Lee: Honestly, I was like okay when did you leave?
- 27:18Carmen Lezeth: so you stopped judging how many years ago when?
- 27:22Carmen Lezeth: Why didn't you love it?
- 27:24Tommy Lee: I Did.
- 27:26Tommy Lee: I really didn't, in fact, you know what I got it.
- 27:29Tommy Lee: Oh it to Jerry Glover and Jim bow.
- 27:32Tommy Lee: Remember Jim bow.
- 27:33Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I do remember Jim bow, I do remember him.
- 27:36Tommy Lee: They were like you need to judge, you need to judge.
- 27:38Tommy Lee: I'm like what am I gonna judge?
- 27:39Tommy Lee: I don't even know what to judge then.
- 27:42Tommy Lee: So, jerry, god bless, jerry.
- 27:44Tommy Lee: Yeah, I don't think you know this about me, but back in the day I was a dancer.
- 27:57Carmen Lezeth: I thought you're gonna say something really profound.
- 27:59Carmen Lezeth: Like I, I was an engineer, I was an astronaut.
- 28:05Carmen Lezeth: So I mean, rick, are you surprised that he just said dancer?
- 28:10Rick Costa: I was thinking like secret love child.
- 28:14Tommy Lee: I got my card in movement and then.
- 28:16Tommy Lee: Tommy, you've written how many shows you need to judge general effect.
- 28:23Tommy Lee: Okay, so I had no honestly.
- 28:27Tommy Lee: Honestly, I had no clue.
- 28:29Tommy Lee: Yeah, but now you're going into the weeds, you're going into judging and getting my card in To judge general effects, which was like the big thing.
- 28:41Carmen Lezeth: And then Don't worry about it.
- 28:44Tommy Lee: Equipment like yeah, and that's just.
- 28:48Tommy Lee: That's just.
- 28:49Tommy Lee: I don't know what, how.
- 28:51Tommy Lee: That's how it happened.
- 28:52Carmen Lezeth: You did it only for four years.
- 28:53Carmen Lezeth: Why did you go?
- 28:54Carmen Lezeth: I'm only moving us off that because you're going down the weeds that nobody who's not involved in judging Even I don't know what you're talking about.
- 29:00Carmen Lezeth: I just, I just you were tired.
- 29:05Carmen Lezeth: Yeah here's what I asked, jerry.
- 29:07Carmen Lezeth: I want you to answer this question why I'm surprised that I'm here in Hollywood and I don't run into anyone who was in color guard, drum core drill team Like I, you know, in the way that we were.
- 29:21Carmen Lezeth: That's not to say that people haven't done it in high school or whatever, but this is at least.
- 29:25Carmen Lezeth: It used to be a very different situation.
- 29:27Carmen Lezeth: This is very professional, different, like these people were on tour rehearsing eight hours a day.
- 29:33Carmen Lezeth: It was a Livelihood.
- 29:35Carmen Lezeth: So my question is and I want to see how you answer it how come no one ever told people in color guard and drum core go to Hollywood, go be a performer, go try acting, go be a dancer, go.
- 29:48Carmen Lezeth: There's so much talent in that world.
- 29:52Carmen Lezeth: I'm serious.
- 29:53Carmen Lezeth: So what's your answer?
- 29:54Carmen Lezeth: Don't you wish somebody had told you that when you were younger?
- 29:57Tommy Lee: Yes, yeah, I do, I, yes, I do.
- 30:02Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but you agree with me.
- 30:03Tommy Lee: There's so much time I agree with you 100%, I think, and, and, let's let's talk about where we come from.
- 30:13Tommy Lee: Okay, and let's talk about the activity as it is.
- 30:21Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 30:21Carmen Lezeth: Well, why don't you start with where we come from?
- 30:25Tommy Lee: Why would I'm going to start with where we come from, okay?
- 30:30Carmen Lezeth: I have one word what poverty, what I don't know?
- 30:33Carmen Lezeth: Selfishness.
- 30:36Carmen Lezeth: Oh, why are you using that word?
- 30:40Tommy Lee: Because why do you think that somebody would want someone who is as talented as you are to move on when they can keep you?
- 30:53Tommy Lee: We're from Massachusetts.
- 30:55Tommy Lee: There's a reason why they call us mass holes, okay.
- 30:59Carmen Lezeth: I was going a different way.
- 31:01Carmen Lezeth: I was going a different way.
- 31:02Carmen Lezeth: I told Jerry, because he's still teaching and he's still judging right.
- 31:07Carmen Lezeth: And I said to him if you see anyone who is even a little bit talented and wants just a little piece of being on stage, tell me.
- 31:18Carmen Lezeth: I will help them however I can, because I cannot believe no one ever said to them look, and I was going through whatever I was going through as a kid, so I was just barely holding on.
- 31:27Carmen Lezeth: So I'm grateful for what I got.
- 31:30Carmen Lezeth: But I wish somebody had just said take all that drive and passion and joy and go do a stage play, go do a movie, figure it out.
- 31:43Carmen Lezeth: And I think there should be that.
- 31:46Carmen Lezeth: Well, yeah, but I'm just saying the struggle is real when you don't have any connections or networks in this town.
- 31:52Carmen Lezeth: But I'm just saying I'm here now.
- 31:54Carmen Lezeth: Here's the difference.
- 31:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I can't believe.
- 31:57Carmen Lezeth: You said selfish.
- 31:58Carmen Lezeth: You think Massachusetts people are just so?
- 32:00Tommy Lee: I think they didn't know, I think they didn't know Absolutely.
- 32:04Tommy Lee: You live in California.
- 32:06Tommy Lee: Okay, if you're ever going to make it anywhere, it's going to be in California, massachusetts, people.
- 32:15Tommy Lee: You know how we are.
- 32:16Tommy Lee: You grew up here.
- 32:17Tommy Lee: We're very liberal.
- 32:18Tommy Lee: We're very, you know, on track.
- 32:22Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and performing.
- 32:24Carmen Lezeth: I mean, at least when I was growing up, performing wasn't an okay thing, like me dancing on the street or at the commons or, you know, at the VFW or wherever I was doing my dancing.
- 32:37Carmen Lezeth: That was kind of like, okay, good, good, she's not doing drugs, but it wasn't like revered, it wasn't like oh, she's so talented.
- 32:45Carmen Lezeth: No right, it wasn't taken seriously, it wasn't taken seriously.
- 32:48Tommy Lee: Right, it wasn't taken seriously.
- 32:50Tommy Lee: Yeah, okay, that's cool.
- 32:51Tommy Lee: And when I say and I'm being completely honest, carmen saw me I don't want to offend you.
- 32:58Tommy Lee: I don't want to offend you when I say she is talented, she's talented.
- 33:05Tommy Lee: You're so sweet, like, and the sad part about it is Massachusetts is such a liberal state that you can be so talented, but if you're not over the top which she is, and somebody doesn't recognize you, that's the problem.
- 33:28Carmen Lezeth: Well, it is the network that's the problem, right, that is the network, that's the network?
- 33:33Tommy Lee: Yeah, you can be over the top, like Carmen is, and if somebody doesn't recognize you?
- 33:38Tommy Lee: Yeah, it's true, it's not going to happen.
- 33:41Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but still, I still think I'm just saying we can change that now.
- 33:44Carmen Lezeth: I think there's so much talent in that pool of people.
- 33:47Tommy Lee: I mean there's a lot of shit performers too, Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of people, all right, so let's, let's, let's, let's, let's talk about this for a minute.
- 33:57Tommy Lee: Okay, so you and bless the sacrament.
- 34:02Carmen Lezeth: Wait, say that again.
- 34:03Tommy Lee: What you match and bless the sacrament.
- 34:05Tommy Lee: You were in the right line the same year that I competed against you and Karen Kelly and who else I don't know.
- 34:15Carmen Lezeth: I didn't yeah, I don't really keep in touch with everybody there.
- 34:18Tommy Lee: Yeah, whatever, addie and Mary and okay, we're all friends, we're all good friends.
- 34:27Tommy Lee: To this day, we're all still good friends, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 34:32Tommy Lee: It doesn't win, lose or draw, it doesn't.
- 34:39Tommy Lee: There's nothing about who's better than you know what, right?
- 34:42Tommy Lee: No, we're all the same people.
- 34:45Tommy Lee: Why?
- 34:45Tommy Lee: Because we grew up in.
- 34:49Carmen Lezeth: Massachusetts?
- 34:49Carmen Lezeth: Right, I mean, that is the good part about Massachusetts, Rick, are you you're?
- 34:54Carmen Lezeth: You were born and raised in Connecticut.
- 34:56Rick Costa: Yeah, you're the same city that I'm in right now.
- 34:58Tommy Lee: Oh my God, you're like you're a hot skipper jumping away yeah.
- 35:05Carmen Lezeth: From Tommy.
- 35:05Carmen Lezeth: You can go hang out with Tommy.
- 35:08Rick Costa: I'll go to Six Flags.
- 35:09Rick Costa: That's where I like to go to Massachusetts.
- 35:12Tommy Lee: So you know what, though?
- 35:13Tommy Lee: I will say this, and this is the last thing I'm going to say about this activity and, rick, I hope this, I hope you're being enlightened.
- 35:23Tommy Lee: What do you mean?
- 35:26Tommy Lee: We would not be having this conversation tonight If not for this lovely lady who I've known since she was a teenager and.
- 35:40Tommy Lee: I was a teenager and she and I can go down memory lane and you can sit there and be like okay, okay, okay, I don't get this, but okay, okay, okay, it's okay, and, and, and.
- 35:58Tommy Lee: It only makes this friendship grow stronger, yeah.
- 36:05Carmen Lezeth: Well, you're going to have to come back on too, like because, okay, because you have to, so we can move on from the color guard zone and we can talk about you.
- 36:13Carmen Lezeth: So what are you doing now?
- 36:14Carmen Lezeth: Let's, let's talk about, okay.
- 36:16Carmen Lezeth: No, no, I live now Because you take these beautiful pictures from your backyard or something, of the sunset.
- 36:27Tommy Lee: I, I, um.
- 36:28Tommy Lee: Well, okay, I'll tell you the truth I was married.
- 36:34Carmen Lezeth: Do I know who you were married to?
- 36:36Tommy Lee: No, no, I was with somebody for 25 years.
- 36:41Rick Costa: Oh, it's a long time.
- 36:43Tommy Lee: Yeah, we were married for 10 years but you know he couldn't keep his peepee where it should be.
- 36:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait a minute.
- 36:53Carmen Lezeth: Wait a minute, wait a minute.
- 36:54Carmen Lezeth: Not Kulligar Jump Corps person.
- 36:56Tommy Lee: No, oh, all right, I would be better off, it was Kulligar.
- 37:01Carmen Lezeth: Jump Corps.
- 37:02Carmen Lezeth: Well, I'm surprised it wasn't.
- 37:04Carmen Lezeth: I'm surprised it wasn't so okay, so you got divorced yeah.
- 37:11Tommy Lee: Oh sorry, it is now yeah, sorry.
- 37:13Carmen Lezeth: Rick is divorced and I'm divorced too, so yeah, we're all big club here.
- 37:17Tommy Lee: Yeah, it is what it is, it's not a big thing, you know, you move on.
- 37:22Tommy Lee: Yeah, life goes on Right.
- 37:24Tommy Lee: Yeah, I don't wish him any ill-hum comedy.
- 37:28Tommy Lee: You know I'm not that person.
- 37:30Carmen Lezeth: You're not that person.
- 37:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you're a nice guy yeah.
- 37:33Tommy Lee: No, I'm not that person.
- 37:35Tommy Lee: Good luck.
- 37:35Tommy Lee: I'm glad you're happy he's with somebody else and I'm glad that they're happy together and that's great.
- 37:43Tommy Lee: I choose to be single.
- 37:46Rick Costa: Yeah.
- 37:48Tommy Lee: As you know, I'm very close to my family Always close.
- 37:51Carmen Lezeth: That I do know, that I do know.
- 37:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, always was close to my family.
- 37:56Tommy Lee: Right, always will be close to my family, right?
- 38:00Tommy Lee: Uh, so you're in a little cottage in Middleborough, really, oh my God.
- 38:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm right on the lake Right, yeah, you're right there.
- 38:16Tommy Lee: I'm literally three steps from the water.
- 38:20Carmen Lezeth: Me too.
- 38:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm three.
- 38:21Tommy Lee: Well, I'm two blocks from the beach and it's, isn't it, wonderful, it's lovely, it's lovely, isn't it yes?
- 38:31Carmen Lezeth: You know, you let the water go there.
- 38:34Tommy Lee: You can put your feet in, you can be.
- 38:37Carmen Lezeth: I walked by.
- 38:37Carmen Lezeth: I don't put my feet in.
- 38:40Rick Costa: Oh, I'm just a few rooms from the bath tub.
- 38:43Carmen Lezeth: Look at, rick.
- 38:44Carmen Lezeth: I'm just a few rooms from the bathtub.
- 38:49Tommy Lee: I'm not going to lie.
- 38:50Tommy Lee: I people call me on occasion.
- 38:54Tommy Lee: They're like well, what do you think about this, what do you think about that?
- 38:56Tommy Lee: What should I do with this?
- 38:58Tommy Lee: What's that?
- 38:58Tommy Lee: I know they send me videos of their color guide shows and and I'm like, okay, well, maybe you should move the flag line to the left, right, you open it up.
- 39:11Tommy Lee: I, you're asking my opinion, and that's what.
- 39:15Carmen Lezeth: I do.
- 39:15Carmen Lezeth: I work for you, you're consulting, you're consulting.
- 39:20Rick Costa: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 39:22Tommy Lee: I'm thinking about retiring.
- 39:25Tommy Lee: Okay, you're not battled Like how old do you think?
- 39:31Carmen Lezeth: Or or oh.
- 39:32Carmen Lezeth: Who is the doggy?
- 39:33Carmen Lezeth: Hello?
- 39:35Tommy Lee: This is my baby tank, tank, tank.
- 39:39Tommy Lee: Thank hi, baba.
- 39:41Tommy Lee: Okay, be gentle Gentle.
- 39:46Carmen Lezeth: He's like I think we need attention.
- 39:47Carmen Lezeth: Oh wait, tank as in T A N K.
- 39:53Carmen Lezeth: Yes, it's a great name.
- 39:55Tommy Lee: I love it.
- 39:56Tommy Lee: Well, you know why he's called tank.
- 39:59Carmen Lezeth: Uh, because he looks like a tank.
- 40:02Tommy Lee: Well, first of all, he's a pit bull.
- 40:04Tommy Lee: Is that a bad thing, or?
- 40:06Tommy Lee: Good no but if I put water in his bowl, he's going to drink it all.
- 40:12Carmen Lezeth: Oh okay, I know nothing about dogs, but he's, he's really beautiful, yeah, and he's my color.
- 40:17Carmen Lezeth: I'm just going to throw that out there.
- 40:18Carmen Lezeth: I love dogs that are that cinnamon brown color.
- 40:21Rick Costa: These are good boys, Canella maybe.
- 40:24Carmen Lezeth: Canella, right?
- 40:25Carmen Lezeth: So wait.
- 40:25Carmen Lezeth: So you're going to retire and do what.
- 40:29Tommy Lee: Hell.
- 40:29Tommy Lee: No, I don't want to retire.
- 40:32Tommy Lee: I love my job.
- 40:34Carmen Lezeth: So then why?
- 40:35Carmen Lezeth: Why do you think you want to retire?
- 40:37Carmen Lezeth: I'm confusion, Confusion.
- 40:41Tommy Lee: You know, Jerry, and I talk about this at least once a week, Really about retiring.
- 40:46Tommy Lee: Yeah, and he's like Tom.
- 40:49Tommy Lee: I'm like Jerry.
- 40:50Tommy Lee: I've known you since I was 12.
- 40:52Tommy Lee: Stop calling me Tom, I promise my father.
- 40:57Carmen Lezeth: Oh wait, you like being called Tommy Lee, yeah, yeah, okay, I don't know you, tommy Lee, and that's always.
- 41:07Tommy Lee: I mean, you know, I've gotten more places by just my name alone.
- 41:12Tommy Lee: That's so funny.
- 41:14Tommy Lee: I'm not going to lie to you.
- 41:16Tommy Lee: I got a free pizza one time because people thought it was Tommy Lee Lee.
- 41:22Carmen Lezeth: It's horrible, that's horrible.
- 41:25Tommy Lee: I'm not lying.
- 41:26Tommy Lee: I totally get that they came to the door and they're like is it really Tommy Lee?
- 41:31Tommy Lee: Yep, Really is my friend was like yeah well, can we come to the door?
- 41:37Tommy Lee: No, he's not going to come to the door, but he'll sign off.
- 41:44Carmen Lezeth: He'll sign off on the credit card.
- 41:47Carmen Lezeth: That's so wrong, so I did.
- 41:51Carmen Lezeth: That's terrible, but that's okay.
- 41:54Carmen Lezeth: That's okay.
- 41:55Carmen Lezeth: I like that because you're not actually lying.
- 41:59Tommy Lee: No, I'm not lying.
- 42:00Carmen Lezeth: I was not.
- 42:00Carmen Lezeth: You must be at first.
- 42:01Carmen Lezeth: That's so funny, yeah, I guess I.
- 42:05Carmen Lezeth: You know what I think.
- 42:06Carmen Lezeth: As I get older too, I'm more confused as to the age difference, because there were certain people like my seventh grade teacher, Alice.
- 42:16Carmen Lezeth: I mean, she's not you know, she's like you and Jerry's age, I guess, and but before you know, I thought, you know, like when I was 11, she was so old, I think she was like 20, you know what I mean.
- 42:30Carmen Lezeth: She's so old or whatever.
- 42:33Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, I still stay in touch with her and I stay in touch with everybody.
- 42:38Rick Costa: Yeah.
- 42:38Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, alice, she's cool, so I can't like I feel bad to Rick.
- 42:43Carmen Lezeth: I this I love that you are always here and hang out and you don't mind that we go down this memory lane.
- 42:51Carmen Lezeth: We kind of had to do it.
- 42:52Carmen Lezeth: We kind of had to do it because I yeah, rick, I'm kind of sorry.
- 42:57Tommy Lee: No, no, no, sorry, I am sorry, no, but Tommy, here's the thing.
- 43:01Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to be honest with you.
- 43:02Carmen Lezeth: I really didn't understand this whole emotional thing that was coming from you.
- 43:08Carmen Lezeth: I had to ask Jerry why you wanted to even come on the show.
- 43:12Carmen Lezeth: Like I know who you are, We've been friends forever, you know what I mean.
- 43:16Tommy Lee: But I was like I'm I don't understand, and Jerry was like I can tell you I wanted to connect with my friend.
- 43:25Tommy Lee: Yeah, it's that simple.
- 43:28Carmen Lezeth: I know.
- 43:28Carmen Lezeth: No, I love that you did that.
- 43:30Tommy Lee: Thank you Like I think you're an amazing person.
- 43:34Carmen Lezeth: We got you.
- 43:35Tommy Lee: I always thought you were an amazing person.
- 43:40Carmen Lezeth: Well, I will say this Thank you for reading my book and telling me everything you thought of it.
- 43:44Carmen Lezeth: That was sweet.
- 43:45Carmen Lezeth: You remember.
- 43:45Carmen Lezeth: You did that right.
- 43:46Carmen Lezeth: You put that in that whole FB message and you text me too, cause that made me cry and I appreciate you.
- 43:55Carmen Lezeth: I look at, I'm not trying to, I never.
- 43:59Carmen Lezeth: I'm just going to say it to you, cause if I say it to Tommy, I'll be crying.
- 44:02Carmen Lezeth: Whatever I always say, I was a great dancer, I will never not admit that I was a great performer.
- 44:08Carmen Lezeth: I loved that, I loved it, I wanted to do that or whatever you don't need, but that was from my point of view.
- 44:14Carmen Lezeth: But I always say and this is true, tommy, I was horrible Technically, technically, you could not put me in a line with other people and I would be exactly the same.
- 44:25Carmen Lezeth: I really believe that's true.
- 44:27Carmen Lezeth: Do?
- 44:29Tommy Lee: I'm going to disagree with you, okay, well, all right, well, we're not going to fight on it anyways, but I hear it.
- 44:35Tommy Lee: Here is why I'm going to disagree with you, okay, okay.
- 44:39Tommy Lee: So I saw you perform with blessed sacrament, yeah, and you were in a line, yes, with the rifle line.
- 44:48Carmen Lezeth: Yes.
- 44:50Tommy Lee: And you were technically perfect, as everybody else was.
- 44:54Tommy Lee: You would not be where you are today if you were not.
- 44:59Tommy Lee: Okay, that perfect.
- 45:00Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to argue with you, you don't give yourself enough credit.
- 45:03Carmen Lezeth: I feel like I'm about to get yelled at when I was just giving so much love.
- 45:12Tommy Lee: Let me, let me put it to you this way you know when the rifle line comes up and the rifle line does their feature and where and sack and glamorous life, or glamorous life.
- 45:24Tommy Lee: What, yeah, you do your rifle feature up there.
- 45:27Tommy Lee: Right, you're right, rifle line is doing their feature.
- 45:32Tommy Lee: There's always one person that stands out.
- 45:38Carmen Lezeth: But that's my point.
- 45:39Carmen Lezeth: Sometimes I'm not supposed to stand out.
- 45:43Tommy Lee: That's exactly my point, but you can't help.
- 45:46Tommy Lee: I like how you stand out for a reason because you're that good.
- 45:54Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I didn't wanna go back there.
- 45:56Carmen Lezeth: So I'm just saying you know, let's talk on the phone, let's stay in touch.
- 46:03Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I want you to come back on the show with the group.
- 46:05Carmen Lezeth: I don't wanna hang out with the group and you feel comfortable now with Rick, even though Rick, you know I do.
- 46:10Tommy Lee: And you know what?
- 46:10Tommy Lee: Thank you very much for doing this because, believe it or not, I'm okay.
- 46:17Tommy Lee: You're gonna laugh when I say this, but I'm very shy.
- 46:22Carmen Lezeth: I know you are, but that's what most great performers that's the irony, most great performers are really shy.
- 46:29Carmen Lezeth: And I told Rick he wants to be on the show.
- 46:31Carmen Lezeth: But I think what did I say to you, rick?
- 46:33Carmen Lezeth: I said I think he's a little shy or a little nervous about coming on, so I told him he can come on if he wants to, but he doesn't have to.
- 46:41Carmen Lezeth: I already knew where you were going with him.
- 46:43Carmen Lezeth: I knew it was happening.
- 46:44Tommy Lee: I am really that person and I thank you very much, both of you, rick, carmen, you're gonna come on next week, right Look at Brian.
- 46:56Tommy Lee: Look at Brian.
- 46:57Carmen Lezeth: Brian is my nemesis and he's saying I'm shy too.
- 47:00Carmen Lezeth: He's like Carmen is shy too.
- 47:01Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to try this.
- 47:04Tommy Lee: Laura, thank you for being here.
- 47:05Tommy Lee: It's like you just like blew my mind.
- 47:09Carmen Lezeth: Oh you just blew her mind because she had a crush on you and we talked about it for like an hour.
- 47:13Carmen Lezeth: So you guys gonna have to talk or something.
- 47:16Carmen Lezeth: Get that on your system.
- 47:17Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 47:18Carmen Lezeth: So I mean she's happily married now too.
- 47:21Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying it was just very funny Because they said to her you do know that you're not his type, right, like she was.
- 47:30Carmen Lezeth: Like, don't matter, he was fine.
- 47:32Tommy Lee: But it's so good looking.
- 47:33Tommy Lee: I remember her and always.
- 47:37Carmen Lezeth: So she was my best buddy.
- 47:38Carmen Lezeth: She was my best friend when we were in Color Guard and St Jesus, Laura was right next to me.
- 47:44Carmen Lezeth: Her mom and dad were the people that were who helped take me in.
- 47:49Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 47:50Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Laura is badass.
- 47:51Carmen Lezeth: She was awesome.
- 47:52Tommy Lee: Laura is badass.
- 47:53Tommy Lee: She was always a good person.
- 47:55Tommy Lee: She is a good person.
- 47:56Tommy Lee: She is a good person.
- 47:57Carmen Lezeth: She is a really good person.
- 47:59Tommy Lee: I loved talking to you today.
- 48:01Tommy Lee: I am like what's the word?
- 48:05Tommy Lee: Hot, warmed, hot warmed to have this conversation with you guys.
- 48:09Tommy Lee: You, rick, laura, like we went down memory lane.
- 48:17Tommy Lee: I can go to bed tonight and do like yeah, well, that's what this whole thing's about?
- 48:23Carmen Lezeth: It's all about the joy man.
- 48:25Carmen Lezeth: I'm not trying to be cheesy, but it really is.
- 48:27Carmen Lezeth: That's why I created the show.
- 48:29Carmen Lezeth: But I want you look at you and I let's have a phone call this weekend, or we can even do this, but without being live.
- 48:36Carmen Lezeth: You know, it's like a Zoom call.
- 48:38Carmen Lezeth: We can just kind of catch up and then we'll have you on the show with the group.
- 48:41Carmen Lezeth: That'll be fun.
- 48:42Carmen Lezeth: But you can't talk about Color Guard on the group show, because they'll be bored out of their mind, because none of them want to hear how great I am, because they all know me from this side of the power and when I say she's great.
- 48:55Tommy Lee: She's great.
- 48:56Tommy Lee: And let me say this before we sign off Okay, carmen, yes, it is so good to see you, my friend.
- 49:06Tommy Lee: Oh, thank you, it's so good to see you.
- 49:08Tommy Lee: I have not seen you since we were teenagers, I know, and you are just as lovely now as you were back then, and I have never forgotten you and I think you're an amazing lady and, yes, thank you, you are a lady.
- 49:28Carmen Lezeth: Thank you so much.
- 49:29Carmen Lezeth: I love you.
- 49:30Carmen Lezeth: Thank you so much I love you.
- 49:32Carmen Lezeth: I love you.
- 49:33Carmen Lezeth: All right, we'll be in touch this weekend.
- 49:35Rick Costa: Yes.
- 49:36Carmen Lezeth: Bye, bye, I'm going to start.
- 49:38Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I didn't mean to cut him off, but he's going to make me cry.
- 49:41Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, he's going to make me cry.
- 49:45Rick Costa: All right, we're going to sign off, because I was enjoying the Massachusetts accent and I was like I'm waiting to see if Carmen reverts back to it.
- 49:52Rick Costa: But you didn't do it.
- 49:54Carmen Lezeth: No, but when I was back home for the funeral, it was like a day and I was all in it.
- 50:00Carmen Lezeth: They were all like, oh, finally your accent came back.
- 50:04Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 50:05Carmen Lezeth: But OK, everyone, thank you so much Thank you for allowing us to go down memory lane and thank you for staying and listening, and it really is all about the joy.
- 50:14Carmen Lezeth: All right, we'll see you guys next week.
- 50:16Carmen Lezeth: Oh no, we won't, it's.
- 50:17Rick Costa: Thanksgiving, oh Thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving everybody.
- 50:19Carmen Lezeth: Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
- 50:20Carmen Lezeth: We won't see you next week, but we'll see you the week after for sure, so have a great one, see you.
- 50:26Carmen Lezeth: Thanks for stopping by.
- 50:29Carmen Lezeth: All about the joy Be better and stay beautiful.
- 50:32Carmen Lezeth: Folks, have a sweet day.
