- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show podcast. The mayor
- 0:36Speaker 2: has been defeated Wow and is being held by the
- 0:40Speaker 2: police in ask The people have voted for the chance
- 0:44Speaker 2: to elect a new leader. The True America Gang has
- 0:48Speaker 2: retreated to the old City Hall as their attempt to
- 0:53Speaker 2: destroy the Mayor's stronghold in Kno was thwarted by the
- 0:57Speaker 2: heroes of this city. Mayor will be elected and the
- 1:02Speaker 2: people will have justice. The three of you sit here
- 1:07Speaker 2: in Jamier's den. You have shared the findings in Manny's journal,
- 1:13Speaker 2: including Jamiir's sister's name, Ronnie. You've shared the final Sticky
- 1:18Speaker 2: note and had Sticky play it again for the boys,
- 1:22Speaker 2: and you turn on the news. It is full of
- 1:24Speaker 2: the events of yesterday, the valiant effort of the heroes,
- 1:27Speaker 2: the return of Everwing and bright Blade confirmed. There is
- 1:31Speaker 2: footage of your feats. There is footage of bright Blade
- 1:33Speaker 2: and rock Fast beating back TGA members and police alike
- 1:38Speaker 2: dodging arrest.
- 1:39Speaker 1: How do they get footage of our feet? I was
- 1:41Speaker 1: just wondering, that's sick of.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm yucking someone else's young, but those are my
- 1:48Speaker 3: plasma feats.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Our feats other than your feet picks being out and
- 1:55Speaker 2: about what are the three of you talking about here?
- 2:00Speaker 2: After some very tense moments not only in saving the
- 2:05Speaker 2: city but also between you as a trio, Jamir.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Brings from the front door, after generously tipping the delivery
- 2:14Speaker 1: man some hellal homies catering trays, Hello homies, kalal homies catering,
- 2:23Speaker 1: and the fantasy version of this depend's highest fantasies. I'm
- 2:28Speaker 1: I can tip real good. Oh yeah, and again we
- 2:34Speaker 1: got we got we got the peta, we got hummus,
- 2:38Speaker 1: we got tabula, we got loaded fries, we got chicken
- 2:42Speaker 1: lamb shwarma, some crispy falaful, large pane of busbadi rice. Yeah,
- 2:55Speaker 1: there's so much sous here, all the White House you
- 3:02Speaker 1: could desire. And yeah, we're gonna be eaten good. We
- 3:07Speaker 1: might have some stuff to figure out, but Jamire looks around.
- 3:13Speaker 1: We made it through, guys, we all made it through.
- 3:17Speaker 1: We did it. We saved the city. We can retire
- 3:22Speaker 1: for the next couple hours. Maybe, Jason, well, what's left
- 3:27Speaker 1: on our list? I mean, fire slug Fire Slug's a
- 3:31Speaker 1: big one. I don't think. I mean, I'm worried. You know,
- 3:36Speaker 1: the mayor's down, but I doubt he's out. There's still
- 3:41Speaker 1: other people that would be happy to take over the
- 3:44Speaker 1: city with this power void. You know, think about the gangs,
- 3:49Speaker 1: et cetera. I have some personal loose ends. Some people
- 3:53Speaker 1: that are close to be aren't really safe right now,
- 3:57Speaker 1: which is terrifying. But massive wins today. Guys through it all. Yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 1: pretty cool? Something something good, you know, I'll take it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: We we did the right thing, right, I think?
- 4:13Speaker 3: So?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah? Right? What what specifically are you asking out?
- 4:19Speaker 3: I'm I mean, I know, like what you did to
- 4:23Speaker 3: the mayor is basically what we did to Sabroth.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yeah, worked great, and maybe he'll think twice before messing
- 4:33Speaker 1: with us, be better.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I guess I just thought i'd I thought I would
- 4:40Speaker 3: feel differently getting to this point.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Well, we could always, I don't know, go out and
- 4:50Speaker 1: do some more stuff, or we can kick back and relax.
- 4:53Speaker 1: What would make you feel better? Should I don't know? Oh?
- 5:03Speaker 1: I mean this food's good. Thanks thanks Jamir. Oh huh,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I got shots on my fish? Yeah? Yeah, I need
- 5:12Speaker 1: a print out of napkin or two mm hmm. I
- 5:16Speaker 1: just reach and grab a napkin. I'm like very skittish
- 5:18Speaker 1: to use my powers right now. I don't know. Maybe
- 5:22Speaker 1: maybe I'm just tired. I don't know. I just thought
- 5:25Speaker 1: it would feel better to know we did it. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 1: we did.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I am.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I am.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Don't get me wrong. I'm glad we did it. I'm
- 5:33Speaker 3: glad that Cordoola and Henry have a fighting chance.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Oh. I just remembered about swift Shot. Yeah where is she?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Where is she? And what is she doing? Hey, swift Shot,
- 5:49Speaker 1: if you're here right now, you have to tell us,
- 5:51Speaker 1: like like being a cop, you have to tell us
- 5:53Speaker 1: if you're here.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I think I could see her really Yeah cool, Yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 3: I can see her now her censor that's my way
- 6:02Speaker 3: of seeing.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but I she's still she's still sneaky, you know.
- 6:10Speaker 3: But I feel like she was just like in the room.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I would I would know.
- 6:16Speaker 1: That Barney guy not saving more lives. It's really got me.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, Manny Ellington has done a
- 6:23Speaker 1: lot for us. But yeah, so Barney you're talking about
- 6:28Speaker 1: is that purple mech exactly? That Dyno mech that came
- 6:33Speaker 1: in just to save Manny Ellington? Like, what's up with that? Manny?
- 6:37Speaker 1: You could have had your Dino Robot Butler Barney Man
- 6:42Speaker 1: like do more you know, yeah, kind of weird move.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I guess we could call him and complain, but he
- 6:49Speaker 1: did vote the right way and mostly no, I mean
- 6:52Speaker 1: he's been a good alive. It's just weird. Just not
- 6:57Speaker 1: very heroic, you know much or bodyguard vibes.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Yeah, speaking of being heroes and what we've done, do
- 7:09Speaker 3: we follow through on our promises to the ones who voted? Now?
- 7:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, our threats? Yeah, promises. It makes me feel better.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Right now, I take a pita and don't get in
- 7:21Speaker 3: so much to ZEKEI.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, as yeah. Jamiir holds a lay of delicately
- 7:30Speaker 1: a lamber chunk delicately on top of a crispy falafel.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I say, how far are we willing to go with
- 7:38Speaker 1: these clouds? Just before we go in, Jiman, did you
- 7:43Speaker 1: say that you think about the interaction you had the
- 7:48Speaker 1: night before asking to talk to the paper phantom and
- 7:53Speaker 1: the extent to which the phantom was willing to go.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And Jason, there's a lot of what happened to you
- 8:03Speaker 2: last night that you don't remember.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm fully like sitting on the couch, my legs
- 8:09Speaker 1: like kicking happily as I just like sauce.
- 8:14Speaker 2: As you smile through the sauce, you start to get
- 8:16Speaker 2: flashes of controlling three ring binders and paper fists and
- 8:26Speaker 2: beating the mayor to a pulp slow motion.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I drop a ramikin of of sauce. It clatters to
- 8:37Speaker 1: the ground. I'll fuck cart I caught that, but we
- 8:45Speaker 1: didn't anyone else's head hurt? Yeah? But yeah, how's your head? Yeah, buddy,
- 8:57Speaker 1: how's the head? No complaints is the answer, But then
- 9:00Speaker 1: give us the real answer. Sure, well, maybe it's because
- 9:04Speaker 1: I got hit with a lot of radiation recently. But oh,
- 9:07Speaker 1: I have a splitting headache. You mean to take a look.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I think, I think I got it. I think it's okay.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Thinks though, I start again. Like manually using paper towels
- 9:19Speaker 1: and napkins to clean up the sauce.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Quanta, you think of Jason taking an enemy of yours
- 9:27Speaker 2: to a place so intimate for you and your people.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Why would he do that? Who would do such a thing?
- 9:39Speaker 3: Quanta narrows her eyes at Jason using just the napkins
- 9:43Speaker 3: that are there and using his hands to clean up.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Why aren't you using your powers there? Buddy.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Oh, I'm just you know, just tired, long day, a
- 9:54Speaker 1: lot of power use.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think we're all tired.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I know I'm beat again. Just just I just wa act.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I'll just like quant extra confirmation we did the right
- 10:10Speaker 3: thing right, And I look in Jason's eyes.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Jason is like trying to avoid eye contact as hard
- 10:17Speaker 1: as possible, looking at sauce, looking at the ground, looking
- 10:20Speaker 1: at Sticky. Right, yeah, Sticky you think so? I think, yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 1: probably right? Borally, that's what you're a thing about. Yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 1: it seems good to me. Yeah, yeah, I got a
- 10:38Speaker 1: city metaphine, Jason. If we hadn't shown up, were you
- 10:40Speaker 1: going to kill him? Huh? If we hadn't shown up?
- 10:43Speaker 1: Were you going to kill him? Well, I can't. I'm
- 10:49Speaker 1: not allowed to. Well, them's the rules, Arthur and I
- 10:54Speaker 1: made a deal when I got my powers back. No killing.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Oh well that's really if you can't kill somebody.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's are you using sarcasm? Yes? Oh okay,
- 11:10Speaker 1: yes amusing sarcasm. It felt it felt scary there from
- 11:18Speaker 1: our perspective. And I'll be honest, I don't know how
- 11:23Speaker 1: much you remember, but I personally had some pretty harsh
- 11:29Speaker 1: words for the fans. Oh, it's coming back to me
- 11:34Speaker 1: in pieces you don't remember, not the whole thing just
- 11:39Speaker 1: sort of flashes images. I'm a little I'm a little
- 11:45Speaker 1: concerned perhaps about which part that maybe the I thought
- 11:54Speaker 1: when Arthur came into the book, that you know, we
- 11:58Speaker 1: had a pretty solid handle on good old original flavor
- 12:04Speaker 1: paper Phantom. But maybe that's not quite as true as
- 12:09Speaker 1: I thought.
- 12:12Speaker 2: As Jason poses this, the question arises to you all,
- 12:19Speaker 2: who is the paper Phantom? There was a jaded and
- 12:26Speaker 2: twisted spirit living inside the book. That being was revealed
- 12:30Speaker 2: to be Brian Wright, the man who was once known
- 12:33Speaker 2: as the hero Spellbook. He had given up himself as
- 12:37Speaker 2: a barrier between the void within the book and the world,
- 12:42Speaker 2: but he was confronted and defeated by Arthur, the paper Wizard,
- 12:47Speaker 2: who now bears his burden. When Jason loses control and
- 12:53Speaker 2: the character that is reminiscent of the original Phantom comes out,
- 12:58Speaker 2: who is that?
- 13:00Speaker 1: What is that?
- 13:01Speaker 2: It's not Brian, it's certainly not Arthur. And as you
- 13:04Speaker 2: think this, Jason starts.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Shaking Fuck it, I'm taking a look, Hey, buddy, buddy,
- 13:18Speaker 1: jam Or grabs me, tries to keep him up.
- 13:23Speaker 3: In.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Okay, we'll do the scan first. Roll a knowledge check
- 13:26Speaker 2: with your scan, Quanta. This is a challenging check. I'm
- 13:30Speaker 2: only a D ten. Wow six, I rolled an eight.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You dive in trying to find out what's going on
- 13:38Speaker 2: in Jason's brain, and you're only met with a voice.
- 13:45Speaker 1: They will not welcome me here.
- 13:47Speaker 2: The book rattles in your chest. You think you can.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Hide me away, keep me separate from the rest of you. Well,
- 14:00Speaker 4: I've got news for you. You've created me, you've been
- 14:06Speaker 4: feeding me, and you can no longer keep me at bay.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Come on in and know me better.
- 14:15Speaker 2: At this grasping paper tendrils sprout viciously out of Jason's chest.
- 14:23Speaker 2: They surround you all and grab at you all. It
- 14:29Speaker 2: pulls your bodies, and as your bodies naturally resist, it
- 14:34Speaker 2: tears through and pulls your souls. All three of you
- 14:40Speaker 2: share the book in jason my soul.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I love the idea too, of Maria coming down seeing
- 14:47Speaker 1: this and just beking. Man, I'll come, I'll get more napkins.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Excuse me. Everybody celebrates in their own way.
- 14:56Speaker 2: You enter the book.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Did we hear that monologue?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Everybody heard that you went to the book that is
- 15:05Speaker 2: Jason's heart and soul. You are discombobulated paper fog, made
- 15:13Speaker 2: up of the gathering of microscopic shards of paper clears,
- 15:19Speaker 2: and you find yourselves being pulled, pulled through space, paper space.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And I say that is in like paper, outer space
- 15:30Speaker 2: within Jason is the paper heavens. Why you soar by
- 15:37Speaker 2: parchment stars and canvas asteroids? And you see Jason's worlds.
- 15:45Speaker 2: They are the compartments He's made a lot of It
- 15:50Speaker 2: is normal and healthy. For instance, you pass a small
- 15:54Speaker 2: world that is Jason's love of chocolate cake.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Oh, that's nice.
- 15:59Speaker 2: That is a compartment. It's a part of him, and
- 16:02Speaker 2: it will not touch the other compartments.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Lest it gets frosting upon them.
- 16:07Speaker 2: But then you see four worlds that are colliding within you.
- 16:14Speaker 2: They are smashing into each other, and there is a
- 16:18Speaker 2: large one from which the tendrils come that seems to
- 16:22Speaker 2: be devouring the others. Uh, that's not.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Supposed to do that, Jason, where are we? It looks
- 16:34Speaker 1: like the paper to mention, but also my paper dimension
- 16:41Speaker 1: looks what does this? What so the book in my chest?
- 16:46Speaker 1: It how's like we've traveled through paper before paper? All
- 16:49Speaker 1: paper is connected in space and time. But the book
- 16:53Speaker 1: specifically that's where the void lives, which is the realm
- 16:56Speaker 1: of annihilation. Arthur's supposed to be guarding it. He was
- 17:00Speaker 1: having roommate drama with the paper phantom. Maybe it got
- 17:04Speaker 1: out of hand.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Everybody, roll a check here to see if you can
- 17:12Speaker 2: gather what's going on. Roll separately and tell me kind
- 17:15Speaker 2: of what you're rolling and how you're rolling to figure
- 17:17Speaker 2: out this whole fucking thing.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Sure you want spirit, I'm assuming.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Potentially, unless you're trying to find out something different. I
- 17:26Speaker 2: like i'd take knowledge or maybe investigation.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Rajill is just gonna take breath, send
- 17:35Speaker 1: out some flight stars, have them as bright as they
- 17:37Speaker 1: could be, and try to again discern what's going on
- 17:43Speaker 1: and how to get out of here.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Ye as we're hurtling along having this conversation and being
- 17:49Speaker 3: pulled along by these paper tentacles, I think I just
- 17:54Speaker 3: try to consider what I know about the brain and
- 17:57Speaker 3: connections and what I have I've seen when I have
- 18:01Speaker 3: gone in Jason's mind, like when I tried to blind him,
- 18:05Speaker 3: and or not what I tried to blind him?
- 18:07Speaker 1: What accidentally blind that was?
- 18:11Speaker 3: That was accidental outcome to try to make sense of
- 18:14Speaker 3: what now I'm seeing with my eyes here.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm just trying to trying to understand as well.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I did knowledge just to see if I know, if
- 18:24Speaker 1: this seems familiar to me or it's new new territory.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Okay, I'm rolling.
- 18:29Speaker 1: This would be knowledge again for me.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Okay, I'm rolling.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm good spirit.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'm rolling a difficult check for all of yous A
- 18:35Speaker 2: D twelve.
- 18:37Speaker 1: May I add my scan?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yes, I rolled a short top one, So which is
- 18:44Speaker 2: a one? Nice short top seven?
- 18:48Speaker 1: I got a seven? I got a seven.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Okay, so step long top ones, step crit The boys
- 18:53Speaker 2: rolled long top one?
- 18:54Speaker 1: And what is it? A gentleman's I tot five seven people.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Way to keep dressing? Five is the people's seven? I
- 19:08Speaker 2: got it. N Okay, We'll start with Jason. You wrote
- 19:12Speaker 2: a knowledge check, jimmyir what you rolled a spirit check?
- 19:15Speaker 2: Spirit Jason, you look at the worlds that are colliding.
- 19:20Speaker 2: They are each made up of the pages of a book,
- 19:25Speaker 2: large and scrawled and torn together and stitched together. They
- 19:30Speaker 2: are planets and their stories and their books all at once.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It is what is inside of Jason, these compartments that
- 19:37Speaker 2: you've been making. I think on your success, you get
- 19:40Speaker 2: a title for each of these worlds. The titles are
- 19:46Speaker 2: a lover of Page, a son of Arthur, a hero
- 19:51Speaker 2: in himself, and a bringer of pain and a giver
- 19:55Speaker 2: of death.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Giver of pain and a sorry Giver of death is
- 20:01Speaker 1: one title.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Bringer of Pain and Taker of life is actually the
- 20:05Speaker 2: last one, and that is one. Giver of pain and
- 20:09Speaker 2: Taker of life. Jimir, you are trying to gather here
- 20:16Speaker 2: what's going on spiritually in Jason. You look at this
- 20:21Speaker 2: paper cosmos and it is vast and it is broad,
- 20:25Speaker 2: but there should only be one thing here where these
- 20:30Speaker 2: planets are colliding. Four things can't fit here, and Jason
- 20:36Speaker 2: has attempted to try to make them all fit, but
- 20:40Speaker 2: they don't. You asked for a way to get back,
- 20:43Speaker 2: to get home, to get out. I think you gather
- 20:46Speaker 2: here that the way is to help your friend. And
- 20:51Speaker 2: if you're going to there has to be one world here.
- 20:56Speaker 2: One part of Jason has to survive this Quanta. Compartmentalization
- 21:05Speaker 2: is generally a thing that happens psychologically. Yes, it can
- 21:12Speaker 2: have physical outcomes by building pathways in the brain or
- 21:19Speaker 2: habit those kind of things. And you're pretty familiar with
- 21:22Speaker 2: that with your understanding of the brain and the work
- 21:25Speaker 2: you've done with Jillian and the work you've done as
- 21:27Speaker 2: your reading is your read wizard thing. Yeah, wizard, Ronnie
- 21:32Speaker 2: the read wizard. But because of Jason's connection to the
- 21:37Speaker 2: void and the raw creative power and energy that that
- 21:43Speaker 2: is when he compartmentalizes, he's building actual worlds that are physical, spiritual,
- 21:52Speaker 2: and mental, and that is what is raging within him.
- 21:58Speaker 2: The large one that you are all getting pulled to
- 22:02Speaker 2: is the world of the phantom, and you gather in
- 22:07Speaker 2: this moment that that's not the one that you all
- 22:10Speaker 2: want to go to first, that you need to make
- 22:12Speaker 2: your way to the others first.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I don't feel great about this. Let's get out here.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I would like to grab hold of the paper that's
- 22:22Speaker 3: holding me and create a spark so that it burns,
- 22:28Speaker 3: to try to burn.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Burn it. Yeah, okay it let's go.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Roll a ready check plus your control lightning or control
- 22:39Speaker 2: electricity average check. I'm only a D eight twelve. I
- 22:43Speaker 2: rolled a seven, which is also called a long top one.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You burn your.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Tendril and you are floating in paper space.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Don't let it.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Pull you in?
- 22:56Speaker 1: Uh paper bending? Go can I paper bend in here.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, I feel the paper respond to nice. All right, Yeah,
- 23:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna cut cut my tentacle. Same check, only got
- 23:12Speaker 2: a four. I rolled it one short top long short
- 23:15Speaker 2: top seven.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Rigel's tag along, So I'm following you, and I'll
- 23:22Speaker 1: just try to rip my tentacle and then flight Star
- 23:26Speaker 1: following quant.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Okay, roll your mite and strength. Same check. I rolled
- 23:31Speaker 2: it too. That's a FOURT T. Yeah, you rip your
- 23:34Speaker 2: tendril easily. They all slither back into the mighty world
- 23:38Speaker 2: that is attempting to take over Jason's soul.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I mean, when, what is I gonna have time for therapy? Guys,
- 23:46Speaker 1: don't look at me like that. Come on, we were
- 23:49Speaker 1: We've been so busy, hey, but the only way we
- 23:53Speaker 1: get out of here is with you. I appreciate that.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I want it to be known too that I didn't
- 23:59Speaker 1: do this on per I'm not trying to We know,
- 24:03Speaker 1: right going, we know this is yeah, we know. I'm
- 24:08Speaker 1: still sorry though it is my fault.
- 24:13Speaker 3: How about how about we deal with this and then
- 24:16Speaker 3: we'll deal with I point to the planets. We'll deal
- 24:19Speaker 3: with this, and then we'll deal with this. And I
- 24:22Speaker 3: gestured to all of us after.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Sounds good. Bos Are we really here?
- 24:30Speaker 3: I mean, I know, at least parts of us, But
- 24:32Speaker 3: I like, touch my body, kind of slap my legs
- 24:37Speaker 3: in my arm.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think without a role, you gather that you
- 24:41Speaker 2: are here spiritually, but you do have a form here.
- 24:46Speaker 2: And as you look down, you notice that you are
- 24:48Speaker 2: all paper people.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Oh shit, I knew this was magic, but I guess
- 24:55Speaker 1: it is paper magic. Yeah, everything here is paper. My
- 25:00Speaker 1: paper's shiny, it's kind of cool. It's lots of kinds
- 25:04Speaker 1: of paper.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Okay, I know we don't want to go to that one,
- 25:08Speaker 3: the big one chocolate cake. No, we should have hit
- 25:13Speaker 3: that on our way out. But the phantoms that one's dangerous.
- 25:18Speaker 3: It's been compartmentalized very intentionally. Yeah, you could say, got
- 25:23Speaker 3: a sweet tooth, got a bit of a sweet taoth.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I bunny, I know you're you said no therapy, but
- 25:32Speaker 3: I think you might need to do some digging. What
- 25:37Speaker 3: what do we need to do here?
- 25:39Speaker 1: Uh? I wish I could give you a clear answer.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I caught the titles of some of the books on
- 25:45Speaker 1: our way in. Okay, I would guess that we don't
- 25:50Speaker 1: want to bline it for Taker of Life, or giver
- 25:54Speaker 1: of pain. Those ones are probably not as fun A
- 25:57Speaker 1: high a degree of difficulty for maybe ye lover of
- 26:02Speaker 1: page feels personal. Yeah, but that, I mean, this is
- 26:08Speaker 1: all pretty personal. We're in you, sure, we're in you
- 26:13Speaker 1: right now. Maybe just to ease into that one, we
- 26:16Speaker 1: could always start with I'm a fan of the title
- 26:20Speaker 1: of this one. Son of Arthur. Yeah, yeah, good call,
- 26:26Speaker 1: because maybe he can help us too. He knows about
- 26:28Speaker 1: magic and ship and I don't. Usually he's in here,
- 26:31Speaker 1: so maybe find Arthur there. Okay, let's let's let's go
- 26:35Speaker 1: for it. You head to I think forward. How do
- 26:43Speaker 1: I make a sale out of my body?
- 26:46Speaker 2: How do you do it?
- 26:48Speaker 1: I just think like sail? And then my hand is.
- 26:52Speaker 2: My flight star paper. Yes, everything is paper, okay, yeah,
- 26:58Speaker 2: I can.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Use my lightning paper.
- 27:00Speaker 3: I try to create a lighteningle whoah, I mean I
- 27:04Speaker 3: created fire though.
- 27:05Speaker 1: How did I do that? Paper? Fire? Yeah? Whoa? This
- 27:09Speaker 1: place is wild. Yeah, it's sort of whatever, your creativity,
- 27:14Speaker 1: your imagination, it's all possible in the world of books.
- 27:18Speaker 1: You guys don't read a lot. That's sort of the vibe. No, sorry,
- 27:22Speaker 1: that's okay. I watched just giving me real, real paper
- 27:25Speaker 1: Mario vibes. I listened to some VHSS.
- 27:29Speaker 3: I listened to Shrek the audio book of Shrek's Really
- 27:33Speaker 3: Good and Monsters Inc.
- 27:35Speaker 1: The audiobook of Monsters Inc. Yeah, we talked about Mike
- 27:38Speaker 1: was Ansky.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 2: You head to the world that is the son of Arthur,
- 27:43Speaker 2: and as you enter the world, it's not like entering
- 27:47Speaker 2: the atmosphere of a planet or what you would imagine
- 27:50Speaker 2: that would be. Like, it's like waking up and the
- 27:55Speaker 2: three of you find yourselves in provincial rush uh in
- 28:01Speaker 2: a tavern. The lights are dim, the floor is muddy,
- 28:06Speaker 2: and the bartender's breath smells like spirits.
- 28:11Speaker 1: What is this place? This isn't any part of New
- 28:14Speaker 1: Babbel m Yeah, it looks like Europe to me, based
- 28:18Speaker 1: on the architecture. Whoa old Europe. The three of you
- 28:22Speaker 1: sit here, you wear frocks and waistcoats. The three of
- 28:26Speaker 1: you find that you're related to each other. You have
- 28:29Speaker 1: a really special braid there, buddy, Is this like what
- 28:33Speaker 1: Arthur did to us before?
- 28:35Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 28:36Speaker 1: It's not a memory. If it is, it's not mine.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I think it's more like a vibe. Is some people
- 28:45Speaker 1: dress outside of New babbyl based on what I've read. Wow,
- 28:49Speaker 1: it's interesting. Yeah, we all have. We all have the
- 28:52Speaker 1: same mustache. We're all related. It's like looking in a mirror.
- 28:58Speaker 2: The door of the tavern bursts so but you see
- 29:01Speaker 2: Grigory burst through the door. Gregory is the most faithful
- 29:05Speaker 2: and elder servant of your father's house. He looks at you,
- 29:09Speaker 2: Jason and says, how could you Dmitri? I heard your
- 29:15Speaker 2: words you would take violence upon your own father. Who
- 29:20Speaker 2: did you hire to do this? Great question? Grigory, thank
- 29:24Speaker 2: you for asking. H I look around context clues. Does
- 29:31Speaker 2: any of this make any sense to me? Roland knowledge check, Jak.
- 29:35Speaker 2: This is a challenging check. I'm rolling a D ten
- 29:38Speaker 2: plus paper cents.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Yes, Quanta is drinking in the surroundings now being like.
- 29:43Speaker 1: This is what the world outside is like. I wroted
- 29:47Speaker 1: a one, I got a five. Ragel's unimpressed.
- 29:51Speaker 2: You find you and your friends in the story of
- 29:54Speaker 2: their Brothers Karamatsov. These names start to ring bills and
- 30:01Speaker 2: you as a book. Maybe you've not read, but maybe
- 30:05Speaker 2: you have, or maybe you skimmed over it with your
- 30:09Speaker 2: paper sense.
- 30:09Speaker 1: At one point in the library, we'll say I've skimmed
- 30:12Speaker 1: it a while ago. Aren't you going to go to him? Dmitri?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Aren't you going to stop what you've started? Now? What
- 30:21Speaker 1: are you going to do? Dmitri?
- 30:22Speaker 3: Uh?
- 30:23Speaker 1: Yes, me and my siblings here filled with great Russian
- 30:28Speaker 1: ramois das vidania. We're going there. As I was leaving,
- 30:34Speaker 1: I saw I saw it a phantom sneaking through the woods.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Oh that's definitely not in the book a phantom. You say, yes,
- 30:43Speaker 1: are we in a book? I whispered really loudly to Rachel. No,
- 30:48Speaker 1: we're ill ja the books in me? Guys? Are we
- 30:51Speaker 1: in the story that's in him? Oh? Look you're asking
- 30:54Speaker 1: me like I know. I hope we get to go
- 30:56Speaker 1: to Monsters Inc. Next. Oh yeah, that's a great book. Yeah.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Anything else? Uh? We need from you Greek? Or can
- 31:07Speaker 1: we funk off to the woods? We need to be
- 31:09Speaker 1: careful in the woods or that's where we're heading. Is
- 31:11Speaker 1: the woods where we got to go? What's what's going on?
- 31:14Speaker 1: Your home? Your house? You know where your house is? Yeah,
- 31:18Speaker 1: in the woods, it's through the woods through Yes, great,
- 31:24Speaker 1: I never seen woods. It's fun.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Demetri, You and your siblings know the way home into
- 31:29Speaker 2: the woods?
- 31:31Speaker 1: How do I know the way home? This is this
- 31:35Speaker 1: is some crazy man, Jim, I didn't do it, but
- 31:38Speaker 1: it's all It's all in you. You've only been in the
- 31:41Speaker 1: book a couple of times, and this part's new to me.
- 31:45Speaker 1: But I do know the story a little bit. You've
- 31:50Speaker 1: like you you go in stories like this. Well, that's
- 31:53Speaker 1: what happens when you read. For a long time. Before
- 31:55Speaker 1: I met you, guys, my only friends were books, right, man,
- 31:59Speaker 1: My reading experiences pretty different, Jamior says, is he feels
- 32:05Speaker 1: the is everything still paper or is it now not? Yeah? No,
- 32:09Speaker 1: as I feel the paper grass. Well, you guys had
- 32:14Speaker 1: big families. I was alone for a while, so books
- 32:18Speaker 1: was a good, good way to escape. It's beautiful and confusing,
- 32:24Speaker 1: but interesting. Yeah, pretty cool. It's not bad at.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Least this one. Into the woods, Into the woods. You
- 32:34Speaker 2: go into the woods, and you come to your father's
- 32:37Speaker 2: abode is large and unorderly. It's a bit ramshackle, but
- 32:42Speaker 2: your father was a wealthy man. It's dark and there
- 32:45Speaker 2: are only a few lights in the house.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Do you mind giving us a little little sparky spark
- 32:51Speaker 1: there some sure, I'll see what I can do.
- 32:56Speaker 3: I try to spark again the hand of my like
- 33:00Speaker 3: paper self to catch it on fire, to like catch
- 33:06Speaker 3: myself on paper fire, but then can try to control it.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, even though I'm lightning, I don't know. Yeah, I
- 33:13Speaker 1: don't have any problems with that.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Okay. Cool.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I imagine like you got like two fingers and like
- 33:17Speaker 1: a little taser like at the arc, jumping between creates
- 33:20Speaker 1: light and fire in there. It's cool. Knock knock, knock,
- 33:24Speaker 1: ding dong, Are.
- 33:26Speaker 2: There knock on the door? No one answers, but you
- 33:30Speaker 2: hear someone running out of a door on the side
- 33:33Speaker 2: of the house. Oh great, running my old arch nemesis.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Come on ther Yeah, okay, okay, fine, ay, wait guys, guys,
- 33:45Speaker 1: is they're running paper flight stars and links arms? Thanks Dorothy. Yeah, well,
- 33:53Speaker 1: flight Star. After the running, the sound of the running.
- 33:56Speaker 2: The flight Star. After the sound of the running, you
- 33:57Speaker 2: see a hooded figure running now into the woods. Jamar's Jamir,
- 34:03Speaker 2: Jamir's flight Star, Jamar's flight steers. What I was gonna say,
- 34:07Speaker 2: the flight.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Flight a moo moo cow. Now that's.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Jamir's flight Star is much faster than this man on foot.
- 34:26Speaker 2: He's hooded, he's running. Jason, you feel in your belt
- 34:33Speaker 2: the cold steel of a dagger. Your hand reaches for it.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Assuming this man has just slaying your father. Step murderer
- 34:46Speaker 2: keeps running.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull out the dagger. It's made of paper, right, yep.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I'm going to turn into a big like mallet. Throw
- 34:54Speaker 1: it paper Mario style at him, roll a might check
- 34:58Speaker 1: plusure paper manipulation. It's a big old three for me.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I rolled a four.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Oh.
- 35:06Speaker 2: You try to turn the dagger into a mallet and
- 35:09Speaker 2: you throw it, You throw it well, and you throw
- 35:12Speaker 2: it true, but it remains a dagger. No, it stabs
- 35:17Speaker 2: this person in the back.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Oh I was trying not to stab. Sorry, are you're good?
- 35:23Speaker 1: You definitely stabbed.
- 35:24Speaker 2: You come to the person, Jason, You roll them over
- 35:28Speaker 2: and you see Arthur.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Good, Hello Jason. Hi, Sorry I threw a dagger
- 35:38Speaker 1: at you. You were cloaked and running away and not responding.

- 35:46Speaker 1: Oh good, It's been a while since I've read this book.
- 35:50Speaker 1: What the fuck is going on?
- 35:52Speaker 2: Oh no, we're mixing a couple of books now, okay,
- 35:55Speaker 2: Oedipus and Brothers carry that one. I've heard the headlines.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I listen to the VH. Jason, he puts his hand
- 36:08Speaker 2: upon your shoulder. You've got to let me go.
- 36:11Speaker 1: What No, No, we need your help and I gonna
- 36:14Speaker 1: let you go.
- 36:16Speaker 2: You have to finish the job. Finish the job. What
- 36:19Speaker 2: are you talking about. I'm not here anymore, Jason. You're
- 36:27Speaker 2: not here. The deal you made with me, the pain,
- 36:31Speaker 2: the phantom causes, it's all you. I'm gone, Jason, I'm
- 36:39Speaker 2: not here. You have to kill this version of me.
- 36:44Speaker 1: No, no, no, that doesn't make any That doesn't make
- 36:47Speaker 1: any sense.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Arthur.

- 36:52Speaker 1: the book. This is you in the book. Right.
- 36:54Speaker 2: My task has bound me. It doesn't allow me to
- 36:58Speaker 2: interfere with your life. It's all you, Jason. You've got
- 37:04Speaker 2: to let me go. It's holding you back.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I can't. I can't. I don't know what the fuck
- 37:09Speaker 1: you want me to say. I can't do it.

- 37:39Speaker 3: Jason's shoulder, and I put the mink off of my own.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I put a hand on Jason's shoulder. You're the most
- 37:51Speaker 3: creative person I know. Maybe you can find another way
- 37:55Speaker 3: to let him go. That's not so.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I look back at Artha. You're saying, if I don't
- 38:03Speaker 1: let you go, all of this were we're stuck here.
- 38:08Speaker 1: It's the only way. There's nothing else I can do.

- 38:38Speaker 1: I didn't get a chance then to Really, I don't
- 38:43Speaker 1: know what to say other than I'm sorry. And I'm
- 38:51Speaker 1: going to put my hand on paper Arthur's chest and
- 38:55Speaker 1: he's going to turn into paper butterflies.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Without killing him. You do release this version of your father, beautiful,

- 40:21Speaker 2: It's very dense. You look at each other dense. It's
- 40:24Speaker 2: so dense.
- 40:25Speaker 1: It's this one's denser.
- 40:28Speaker 2: I think in the last I can't see as far
- 40:32Speaker 2: you see that your garbage changed. You still bear the
- 40:37Speaker 2: the iconography of your hero personas, but it's medieval fantasy, nightly,
- 40:43Speaker 2: witchy Kingley or whatever you have. You, guys, explain what
- 40:48Speaker 2: you look like in a medieval fantasy high fantasy world.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Jesture outfit, pointy curly toes, jingling bells, and a scepter
- 41:00Speaker 1: with my own head on it, quantas and papal ropes. Nice. Yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 1: Junior is definitely paper night with full plate on. What

- 45:28Speaker 1: make our way to the tower. You head toward the
- 45:30Speaker 1: tower where the wolf says pages sleeping m yes, sir.
- 45:34Speaker 1: As you get closer and closer, takes you some time
- 45:39Speaker 1: to walk, but you start to notice creeping brambles crawling
- 45:44Speaker 1: up on you, crawling behind you, surrounding you, pushing you
- 45:49Speaker 1: in creeping Hold on, I'll try to burn them with
- 45:55Speaker 1: some of the starfire magic glass.
- 45:57Speaker 2: See if that doesn't, gim me a roll street smart
- 46:00Speaker 2: plus your magic. Last the brambles are rolling a D ten.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Two. Hey, I got a fourteen nice. They're all to
- 46:11Speaker 1: seven ooh, lunked up one. The brambles come in and
- 46:15Speaker 1: try to stop your way. Jamir fire blasts them back, nice.
- 46:22Speaker 2: And they continue just to grow, trying to cover your
- 46:26Speaker 2: way into the tower, even as Jamiir blasts them back.
- 46:29Speaker 2: You do come into the tower, you find a stairwell,
- 46:33Speaker 2: but they continue to crawl after you, in front of you,
- 46:36Speaker 2: behind you.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Wanta, how are you helping? Huh Jason, what's this? You think?
- 46:44Speaker 1: It's likely also a metaphor, I'm not sure for creeping
- 46:47Speaker 1: anxiety would be my guest. Yeah, I mean I asked
- 46:49Speaker 1: the question once again. Are you getting in the way
- 46:52Speaker 1: of your own happiness here? Buddy? Well, I can't just
- 46:55Speaker 1: like just stop being anxious. No, I can't. I turn
- 46:59Speaker 1: around and start zapping just.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Bolts of lightning whip at the brambles as they're coming
- 47:08Speaker 3: at us.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Grant treet Smart's plasure lightning whip.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Well, that's a D ten now eight.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Eight, I rolled a three. You're able to clear a
- 47:19Speaker 2: path as well. There's gonna be one more check. It's
- 47:22Speaker 2: gonna get a little harder D twelve for both of you.
- 47:25Speaker 2: As Jason is the hero of this story and meets
- 47:27Speaker 2: the path cleared for him, so really brambles again, cover
- 47:32Speaker 2: your your path forward, encroaching behind you.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Go Jason, go Running is my one weakness. And scissors
- 47:39Speaker 1: and fire. Also a magic blasted brother, Jimmie, where'd you wrot?
- 47:44Speaker 4: Eight?
- 47:45Speaker 1: I rolled a four?
- 47:46Speaker 3: Oh, thank good this time, I would like to control
- 47:49Speaker 3: electricity to like launch the electric if if I can
- 47:52Speaker 3: sense electricity in Jason's paper body.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, paper electricity.
- 47:57Speaker 3: This is so weird and I want to like launch
- 48:01Speaker 3: his body up over the brambles as he's running.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Help him run, roll a coach check plus your control lightning,
- 48:11Speaker 2: go get her.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Ten.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I rolled a seven. The brambles make a solid gate
- 48:18Speaker 2: in front of you. You launch Jason over them, your Jester,
- 48:24Speaker 2: your paper Jester, shoes and hat jingling in the wind,
- 48:29Speaker 2: and you crash through the door, where you find a
- 48:36Speaker 2: four post bed.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Gossamer curtain and Page.
- 48:44Speaker 2: The two of you guard the door and are going
- 48:46Speaker 2: to need to keep pushing back the brambles as they
- 48:49Speaker 2: try to enter.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Page is sitting up.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Not a sleep lying wolf. She looks at you. This
- 49:03Speaker 2: is the Page, you know, even though everything's made out
- 49:06Speaker 2: of paper. Her hair is still the stark white that
- 49:11Speaker 2: it has turned to in the real world.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Is this how you see me subconsciously?
- 49:19Speaker 2: Perhaps I'm not doing this on purpose, A princess cursed
- 49:25Speaker 2: to sleep until you find me.
- 49:26Speaker 1: I didn't look I'm if anything, it's a mixed metaphor
- 49:30Speaker 1: look what I'm wearing. Okay, you know?
- 49:32Speaker 2: Did you know in the original story that she doesn't
- 49:37Speaker 2: get woken up by a kiss, just the curse of
- 49:39Speaker 2: the land ends and she wakes up.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I kind of remember that. I remember it
- 49:44Speaker 1: being a little Yeah, the kiss part's weird. You shouldn't
- 49:47Speaker 1: kiss sleeping people. I know that. Who am I to you? Jason?
- 49:52Speaker 1: It's complicated. Do you love me? Huh?
- 49:58Speaker 2: Do you want to be with me? Your superhero life
- 50:03Speaker 2: apart the Phantom?
- 50:05Speaker 1: Not here? You, Jason Turner? Do you love me? Of
- 50:11Speaker 1: course I do? Romantically. Yes, romantically. I've been in love
- 50:17Speaker 1: with you since I was sixteen.
- 50:20Speaker 2: If you really wanted to be with me, you wouldn't
- 50:23Speaker 2: hide from me.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Well, I don't know. Every time I get closer to you,
- 50:33Speaker 1: it seems like something worse happens. I'm not a good person.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I don't think I don't deserve you. That's the problem. No,
- 50:47Speaker 1: you don't, but she still loves you. That's not fair
- 50:56Speaker 1: to her. That's her choice to make. Yeah, you need
- 51:06Speaker 1: to tell her who you are, who you really are,
- 51:10Speaker 1: But then that's up to her. Sounds hard.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Maybe we'll just get killed by brambles and live your favor.
- 51:19Speaker 1: How do you think it's going in there? And what
- 51:26Speaker 1: are you? What do you need me to say?
- 51:30Speaker 2: I need you to tell me you love me. I
- 51:36Speaker 2: know I like books, but words are not my.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Strong suit. I'm gonna grab her face and I'm gonna
- 51:46Speaker 1: kiss her. Not macaroni and cheese. It's some shredded pieces
- 51:52Speaker 1: of paper in somebody's hand.
- 51:54Speaker 6: This is what the kissing sounds like, open mouth, tongues
- 52:05Speaker 6: slap at each other.
- 52:08Speaker 1: No, it's like a nice kiss.
- 52:09Speaker 2: As you do, this world erupts again, not disappearing fully,
- 52:17Speaker 2: but drawn into the world of the hero that Jason
- 52:22Speaker 2: wants to be. You can be a hero and say
- 52:26Speaker 2: goodbye to your dad. You can be a hero and
- 52:29Speaker 2: love the woman you love. That means there's one world
- 52:33Speaker 2: left before the bad one.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Take it that one you went? Well, Yeah, you guys
- 52:42Speaker 1: seem like you're covered in lots of little paper cuts. Okay, yeah,
- 52:45Speaker 1: my paper's torn, but I'll live. Yeah, you're good in there, Bud.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I didn't you hear the sound of
- 52:57Speaker 1: I need to know that details. Let's just say occupy.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Let's just say I got the fifth base. You know
- 53:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying. God, No, Jason, Jason handholding a word,
- 53:12Speaker 1: he doesn't have that many. I forgot about the curve
- 53:17Speaker 1: on which your basis are. Oh right, yeah, third is
- 53:23Speaker 1: holding hands right?
- 53:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 53:25Speaker 1: Okay yeah, and then sixth the six swings.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Ok well, I'm glad you didn't get to sixth then
- 53:31Speaker 3: while we were fighting.
- 53:34Speaker 1: From six it really does jump.
- 53:38Speaker 2: The three of you find yourselves next as you get
- 53:41Speaker 2: sucked into the third world in a nice home in
- 53:44Speaker 2: Victorian London.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Okay, where where are we now? What is Oh my gosh,
- 53:49Speaker 1: I can't breathe. I can't breathe. What is happening? Do
- 53:56Speaker 1: you look great? Close though? Sorry you're crazy? Slice open
- 54:11Speaker 1: the corset.
- 54:12Speaker 2: You're all in a four post bed together, and the
- 54:15Speaker 2: bell tolls one.
- 54:20Speaker 1: I thought I thought it was sex swing. Yeah, that's
- 54:23Speaker 1: sixth base. Okay. I don't think this is a sex book.
- 54:27Speaker 1: I'll be honest. I think this is some Dickensie and ship. Sure,
- 54:31Speaker 1: do I have like a long night cap on? Yes
- 54:35Speaker 1: you did. Wait, you guys look like you're wearing pajamas.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Pajamas are lady pajamas of the Jason's brain. Okay, this
- 54:48Speaker 1: is not whoa whoa. I didn't do I didn't imagine that.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I didn't do ship. I didn't do sh.
- 54:58Speaker 2: A ghost shimmers intigs distance before you, all three of you. Oh,
- 55:03Speaker 2: it is a normal looking man in a vest and
- 55:06Speaker 2: a nowsy cap, flat brimmed cap. He has a red
- 55:10Speaker 2: he has a red hair. He has red hair and
- 55:13Speaker 2: a beard.
- 55:14Speaker 1: That guy is balding, but he is not accepting it.
- 55:17Speaker 1: He's keeping that single hair.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Yay.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Hey, hello ghost, Merry Christmas.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Hello, it's me little John oh from Robinhood. Well they
- 55:34Speaker 2: may have called me that. Oh, but you look like
- 55:37Speaker 2: the bully that I knew from school, that's the one.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the bully you knew from school.
- 55:43Speaker 1: That's me. Hi, your ghost now in this dimention.
- 55:48Speaker 2: Right right, I'm here to warn you and all. Oh
- 55:50Speaker 2: you're like the Jacob Martley and I'm the first ghost. Oh, okay,
- 55:55Speaker 2: you've sort of rolled into the ghost of Christmas past, right,
- 55:58Speaker 2: I saw him up with Christmas Carroll.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Jayson don't to explain. Yeah, he's like the Gonzo okay, no, no, no,
- 56:09Speaker 1: Gonzo Narra.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I'm like Marley and the Little Floating Girl together in
- 56:22Speaker 2: one Yeah.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Yeah, right, it's let's just say that I skimmed this
- 56:25Speaker 1: a while ago and mostly read like Jewish stories as
- 56:30Speaker 1: a child. It's not Christmas. Oh great, it's not a
- 56:34Speaker 1: Christmas one. No, sometimes it's the worst.
- 56:36Speaker 2: It's I am the ghost of Jason's past, and you
- 56:43Speaker 2: will be visited by two phantoms tonight. One of them's me.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Oh okay, and the other is the ghost of Jason's future.
- 56:52Speaker 1: I just love how it talks.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Yeah, he didn't have this accent when we were in school. No, no, somebody,
- 57:00Speaker 1: this isn't somebody from the book. Well little John is
- 57:03Speaker 1: a book character, but this little John is was my
- 57:06Speaker 1: high school bully. Oh well, fuck you then, right. No,
- 57:10Speaker 1: I'm in hell. Sorry, I'm in paper hell. I just
- 57:17Speaker 1: rubbed salt on that.
- 57:19Speaker 4: No.
- 57:19Speaker 2: No, it's okay. I did evil in life and I'm
- 57:22Speaker 2: here paying for it in death. One of my duties
- 57:26Speaker 2: is to come help Jason see his past. Okay, would
- 57:31Speaker 2: have a whole play here, you two. You can't come
- 57:35Speaker 2: to the past. Come on, but I'll meet you in
- 57:38Speaker 2: the future.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I won't he as long as I don't have to
- 57:42Speaker 1: wear a corset anymore.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Okay he snaps his fingers, and of course it's gone.
- 57:47Speaker 2: But you have other clothes on.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Of course it over and over night out. Yeah. I
- 58:00Speaker 1: think you guys have both been naked in the show.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I've never been naked. Naked in our visions. You're not
- 58:06Speaker 1: naked in your vision?
- 58:07Speaker 2: No, No, just made a paper. Yeah, that's probably under there.
- 58:11Speaker 2: The two of you, Little John and Jason.
- 58:14Speaker 1: What John? Little John? Little John? Yes, and Jason.
- 58:25Speaker 2: You two walk out of your window and are transported
- 58:29Speaker 2: to the past. And it's a familiar scene to you.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Although it's in a Dickensian setting, the action is the same.
- 58:44Speaker 2: You walk up corporeally on in the back of a
- 58:47Speaker 2: schoolhouse and you see Little John and his cronies surrounding
- 58:53Speaker 2: you and beating the ship out of you. A young Jason,
- 59:00Speaker 2: what are you showing me.
- 59:01Speaker 1: This for gloat? Oh?
- 59:04Speaker 2: Well, if you know, maybe if I wasn't in hell. Hey, look,
- 59:08Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but that's not what this is about. No,
- 59:13Speaker 2: it's not about me, It's about you.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 59:19Speaker 2: The punches and the kicks keep coming until you see
- 59:24Speaker 2: a young Arthur coming out of nowhere, almost with a cane.
- 59:31Speaker 2: He doesn't hit any of the boys, but he shoes
- 59:35Speaker 2: them off. Little John next to you says, I think
- 59:38Speaker 2: we might have could have taken him, but I would
- 59:41Speaker 2: have loved to see that. Show me something cool for once.
- 59:47Speaker 2: This this taught you what a hero is. Look, Arthur
- 59:55Speaker 2: chases them off and meals, this is the first time
- 59:59Speaker 2: you have met Arthur. Before he asked you to come
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: and live at the library, before he had you sign
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: adoption papers. He saved you and he checked on you.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Why do you do that? That's why a hero does well,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I've turned out to be a lazi hero.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Then, no, it's in there because of this, and he
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: points back to Arthur, who now is picking you up
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: and taking you to get a soda or a candy
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: whatever it was on that chocolate cake. No, the chocolate
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: cake lit it.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: It's becoming a cake dragon. He's chocolate caking out. You
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: wouldn't like me when I've had chocolate cake.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: It's in you because of this.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't have a lot of other people
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: in my life at this point, so the only people
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: I modeled myself after were Arthur and Books. At least
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I tried.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: This is the last thing I was supposed to tell
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: you before I get back back to hell. But what
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: are what are Rigel and Quada doing while this is
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: happening anyway?
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Having They're having a plate of cold cheese and bread.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Cheese is so cold, it's pretty good. But yeah, a
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: little chili.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Little John says to you, what.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Okay that?
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Yeah, the the phantoms big. You've made him big, mm hmm.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: But the hero can be can be bigger.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I guess it's there. It's in you if you say so.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: He starts getting sucked down in skeleton and gets sucked in. Yeah,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: we don't get cheese like this is a new babble.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: This bread is also pretty damn good. We skip Jason present.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: There is a Phantom now behind you, standing at the
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: school yard, fog rolling in around him. He looks like
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: the original Phantom, but it's not quite him. You know,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: this is the future what you could become. He raises
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: a hand to you and beckons you with a curling finger.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: My friend's back yet they're still in tea time. The
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Phantom says nothing, but raises their finger and beckons you again,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: take my pajamaed ass over there. He puts his arm
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: around your shoulder. You walk into a swirling portal and
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: head to the future, Jason future. You look and you
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: see a phantom. Sorry I'm using that word too much.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: You look and you see you the paper phantom in
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: an alley, beating down on a guy, punching, punching, punching hand,
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: fist coming up, bloodied and with brain on it. What
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: does the Dickensiean phantom look like the one you now behold?
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Probably like almost Sherlock holmesy big like trench coat style,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: big big top hat, stovetop hat, monocle, I guess, and
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: then fingerless gloves. It's covered in brain matter.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: This phantom in the future, you feel kills without a
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: second thought. Those that need death get it, and you've
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: made yourself the judge and the executioner. But there are
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: those that stand in your way. Dickensiean Rigel and Quanta
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: drop from the sky. What do you guys look like?
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Oh, I have a mouthful of cheese and bread Oi there.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah, we're wearing like like street urchin clothes,
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: like the little like short you could wear something different,
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: like like the like capri pants rolled up with the
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: high socks, the little clip shoes and a vest, a
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: little little scarf and hat.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: We'll like kerch How do you look like Quantas? Still
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: you're a Dickensian hero.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Still I the alp the little orphan street kid outfit
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: is lighting up in different colors.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Dickensiean Rigel is wearing a blue kind of suit jacket waistcoat,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: but has bloody rags around his knuckles and a torn
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: tablecloth masking his face. Hello, Gobbler, we meet against boy there, Mike.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: The two of you have the two of you have
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: been chasing the Phantom who's been on a killing spree
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: through London.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: You've been up to no good you have. We're about
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: to top you of Yeah, we're gonna call you right
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: on the dick. Damn.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: They're so cool in the future and you look and
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: see as your two best friends engage the Phantom. And
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: that's where we'll end this episode of the team up
