The Mercian Chronicles with Max Adams: Chalke History Festival Special
In this episode we speak to author and historian Max Adams all about his brand new book 'The Mercian Chronicles: King Offa and the Birth of the Anglo-Saxon State, AD 630–918 - The Founders of Britain Quartet'. The two discussed the political and religious landscape of Early Medieval England, King Offa's relationship with the continent, and the importance of waterways to Mercian state building! This is a rerun of an episode from earlier this year!
