- 1:53Speaker 1: plumbing working and a cold house? You just had me
- 1:56Speaker 1: thinking about the alternative of indoor plumbing, right, I just
- 2:01Speaker 1: don't see that being something I'm interested in me neither.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I'll pass, Yeah, hard pass, hard pass, fair enough, I do.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm in As you know, after Katrina, I learned that
- 2:14Speaker 1: I couldn't do without it. No because it was hot, No,
- 2:18Speaker 1: it was so hot, good, Lord of Mercy. Yeah, I'm
- 2:22Speaker 1: good on thatofoff. All right. We're powered by Pearl River

- 2:30Speaker 1: Ford Plumbing and Air call them today, locally owned. They
- 2:33Speaker 1: do a great job. A couple of different ways that
- 2:36Speaker 1: you can get in touch with us. The Dancing Rabbit
- 2:41Speaker 1: Golf text line is six oh one eight eight five
- 2:46Speaker 1: three seven seven six six oh one eight eight five
- 2:50Speaker 1: three seven seven six. Who do you have winning the
- 2:54Speaker 1: SEC championship this year in football? And who do you
- 2:57Speaker 1: have winning the national championship in football? Are you going
- 3:04Speaker 1: to Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, LSU someone else? Indiana could
- 3:12Speaker 1: Indiana go back to back? Could Kurt Signetti go back
- 3:19Speaker 1: to back at Indiana?
- 3:23Speaker 3: All right?
- 3:23Speaker 1: So who do you have winning the SEC championship, which
- 3:28Speaker 1: is basically finishing number one?
- 3:29Speaker 3: Right?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah yeah? Or you can even go regular season,
- 3:32Speaker 1: you may say the conference championship, whatever, But who do
- 3:36Speaker 1: you have either finishing number one or winning in Atlanta?
- 3:38Speaker 1: I don't know how many more years we're going to
- 3:39Speaker 1: have the SEC Championship game. But who do you have
- 3:45Speaker 1: and who do you like to win the national champ championship.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Some of you may go Oregon with Dante more Now,
- 3:52Speaker 1: Notre Dame has an unbelievable schedule. The Notre Dame has
- 3:59Speaker 1: a eight walk of a schedule. Jackson, pull it up
- 4:03Speaker 1: and feed it to us in a minute. And Marcus
- 4:08Speaker 1: Freeman is a good coach, all right. And they figured
- 4:12Speaker 1: out just enough of the portal too. But of course
- 4:15Speaker 1: they recruit, well they're Notre Dame. They recruit in the
- 4:18Speaker 1: top ten around six to twelve, and they retain their players,
- 4:23Speaker 1: so they've got that mojo going. But I'd like to
- 4:27Speaker 1: know who you have winning the SEC and who you
- 4:30Speaker 1: have winning the national championship. In football, you're going to
- 4:34Speaker 1: Ohio State, Kirby gonna have a bounce back a year.
- 4:37Speaker 1: They've been down for a couple of years. I was
- 4:39Speaker 1: listening to no I was reading Bud Elliott and he
- 4:44Speaker 1: was like, they haven't been I mean, they haven't been
- 4:47Speaker 1: electric since brock Bowers left. And then it was still
- 4:52Speaker 1: kind of what are they gonna have some dudes coming
- 4:55Speaker 1: off the edge, how are they going to look? Well,
- 4:59Speaker 1: Texas continue to underachieve. They've done that for the better
- 5:02Speaker 1: part of fifty years. And then they had that one.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You know, make Brown went and got one A and
- 5:09Speaker 1: m lost some key, key, key assistants, but they've got
- 5:13Speaker 1: a hell of a roster. Kiffin one of the best
- 5:17Speaker 1: top five college football coaches now in the country. He's
- 5:20Speaker 1: at a monster in LSU. And we know what Kirby's
- 5:22Speaker 1: done at Georgian. Oh, the one we may be sleeping
- 5:25Speaker 1: on ken Bama bounce back after getting embarrassed in the
- 5:29Speaker 1: second round of the College Football Playoff by Indiana thirty
- 5:32Speaker 1: eight to three. I think that's another question. The text
- 5:37Speaker 1: line six oh one eight eight five three, seven seven six.
- 5:43Speaker 1: We want you to download the Out of Bounds Radio
- 5:45Speaker 1: app so you can listen to the show wherever you
- 5:49Speaker 1: are in state, out of state walking Jim. Maybe you're
- 5:52Speaker 1: at grit Fitness and Training, beautiful beautiful facility where Jake
- 5:58Speaker 1: Mangham and Connor Griffin and JT. Ginn and J. Powells
- 6:02Speaker 1: the director of Baseball Operations. When you're working out at
- 6:06Speaker 1: Grit on Lakeland Drive in Flowood, you can be listening
- 6:12Speaker 1: to the out of Bound Chef on the out of
- 6:14Speaker 1: Bounds Radio app. Out of Bounds Radio app stream us Baby,
- 6:19Speaker 1: we love you, uh Jackson, give me the first four opponents, please, sir?
- 6:24Speaker 1: You got And they're at home for the first three.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Then they go to uh away on the last one Celeska,
- 6:31Speaker 1: Wisconsin at home. Okay, Rice at home, Michigan State at home.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Three and now they go to Perdue Fourida, they go
- 6:40Speaker 1: to UNC and see Bill Belichick five and h they
- 6:46Speaker 1: host Stanford six and oh trash. They go to b
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yu ooh maybe okay that could that could be their
- 6:56Speaker 1: their one loss. I'll give them fifty to fifty. They
- 6:59Speaker 1: go have to strap it on. That is a physical
- 7:02Speaker 1: physical program out there, and I don't know how they've
- 7:06Speaker 1: done that in the state of Utah. But both those now,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I don't know what Utah will be after Kyle Whittingham,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but both of those programs have been physical as hell
- 7:14Speaker 1: for years. Go ahead, I'll probably drop that game at
- 7:16Speaker 1: nine pm. Yeah, that could be one where you get
- 7:19Speaker 1: kind of it gets sideways on you. They go to
- 7:23Speaker 1: Navy win host Miami ooh, okay, that will be a
- 7:30Speaker 1: challenge or very well could be a challenge. Sure, host
- 7:34Speaker 1: Boston College win, host SMU win, head to Syracuse win
- 7:39Speaker 1: now they can. So they're going ten and two, eleven
- 7:41Speaker 1: and one or twelve and zero and they're in, yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 1: because they got left out last year and Bar two
- 7:46Speaker 1: I can't believe this. Bar two says they got hosed,
- 7:49Speaker 1: which can you believe Notre Dame got host because like
- 7:51Speaker 1: they've been given gifts over the years because they're Notre Dame.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Go ahead, Jack's thankful they got host. But yes they
- 7:57Speaker 1: I mean they can they can lose two ball games. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: you're in at ten and two. Yeah. If they don't
- 8:03Speaker 1: make the playoffs them, well I say they are. Yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 1: but with the SEC going to non conference games and
- 8:11Speaker 1: everybody's gonna have more losses, that's going to be really
- 8:14Speaker 1: good for Notre Dame and Big ten teams and could
- 8:17Speaker 1: be good for a Big twelve or ACC team. Two.
- 8:20Speaker 1: We had two G five teams in the College Football
- 8:22Speaker 1: Playoff last year Tulane and James Madison, who had no
- 8:25Speaker 1: business being in. The year before, we had SMU and
- 8:28Speaker 1: Boise State. I know SMU's Power four in the ACC,
- 8:32Speaker 1: but SMU and Boise State shouldn't have been in. So
- 8:34Speaker 1: we're gonna have to see how that looks going forward again.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Y'all know where I stand. The G five or G six,
- 8:41Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it, should have their own
- 8:42Speaker 1: Final four. People will watch it and bet on it
- 8:47Speaker 1: and it'll still get some solid ratings. And even at
- 8:50Speaker 1: the Power four needs to kick them some money even
- 8:53Speaker 1: though they're not in it. That's fine, I kick it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But you don't. You don't need no Tu Lane in
- 9:03Speaker 1: the College Football Playoff, not now of your final great
- 9:07Speaker 1: story in kudos to John summerl who's now at Florida,
- 9:11Speaker 1: But you don't. You don't want tou Lane and James Madison.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And it's just not I don't want the best story.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I want the best tea. Yeah, you gotta, you gotta
- 9:18Speaker 1: get do everything you can to get the best power
- 9:21Speaker 1: for teams in the College Football Playoff. The show is
- 9:27Speaker 1: brought to you by Key City, Mississippi.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Queen.
- 9:29Speaker 1: It's great Beer Mississippi is their Pilsner and me Vita
- 9:33Speaker 1: is their Mexican lagger. Key City Beer out of Vicksburg
- 9:38Speaker 1: by something Today. Ah, good morning, what's up? What's up?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Out of Bounds one oh five nine The Zone ESPN
- 10:23Speaker 1: brought to you by Ford Plumbing and Air Ford Ford,
- 10:26Speaker 1: Ford Plumbing and Air locally owned in Ridgel, Mississippi. They
- 10:30Speaker 1: do work all over the Jackson metro area. Called them
- 10:34Speaker 1: today Ford Plumbing and Air. Let them know that you
- 10:37Speaker 1: heard about it on the Out of Bounds show. They
- 10:39Speaker 1: do a great job. HVAC air conditioning, very important plumbing
- 10:44Speaker 1: that works, super important Ford Ford, Ford Plumbing and Air.
- 10:50Speaker 1: One O five to nine The Zone ESPN bow bound
- 10:54Speaker 1: straight funk with you and uh, So, were you surprised
- 10:58Speaker 1: that I I got in the swimming pool down the
- 11:02Speaker 1: Mississippi Gulf coast with a bunch of other people? Yes, okay,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm surprised you got a pool that I had other
- 11:06Speaker 1: people in it. Well, I did debate it, uh but
- 11:09Speaker 1: because we were with our biggest client and friend and
- 11:13Speaker 1: all the other people I mentioned. But I had a
- 11:17Speaker 1: good time. I mean, you got somebody, you know, I
- 11:20Speaker 1: don't usually do that. You know, I don't belong to cut,
- 11:23Speaker 1: you know, so don't I don't. I'm not at a
- 11:25Speaker 1: pool where people were waiting on me, and it was
- 11:29Speaker 1: great that you know, we were getting buckets of ice
- 11:33Speaker 1: cold Michelobultra. We knew we weren't leaving the property and uh,
- 11:38Speaker 1: it was just a chill afternoon for a couple hours.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Not too chabby. No, No, that bar area is cool
- 11:46Speaker 1: by the pool, I mean it's shaded, feels great. Burger
- 11:51Speaker 1: was good, but uh but I had a good time,
- 11:55Speaker 1: for sure. I wish I could share all the stories
- 11:57Speaker 1: that Jake Cocher has about Lane Kiffen, but I can't.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Dangerous there and well you know Lane being his offensive
- 12:05Speaker 1: coordinator at the University of Alabama. If if I could
- 12:10Speaker 1: share all those or Cocher shared, it'd be epic content, unbelievable.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Jeremy B. Morning Bow listening live in Alaska, Texas has
- 12:27Speaker 1: the talent to win the SEC. But unless Arch is special,
- 12:30Speaker 1: my money is on Georgia Mine too for the SEC.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I think the national contenders are coin flip amongst four
- 12:39Speaker 1: to five teams. You're right, you know, for years, we
- 12:41Speaker 1: only had one or two teams that could win it,
- 12:43Speaker 1: depend on the year, it'd be Bama and somebody else
- 12:45Speaker 1: or Ohio State somebody else. Now I don't even know
- 12:49Speaker 1: how to I don't even know how to quantify how
- 12:53Speaker 1: many teams could could make a run at it now
- 12:56Speaker 1: that everything's splintered and fractured. It's a great question. It's
- 12:59Speaker 1: something that I I don't know if anybody has the answer. Yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: And I don't know if if we get another three
- 13:06Speaker 1: years of this portal stuff and three more champions, if
- 13:09Speaker 1: we'll have an idea or if we're not. I mean,
- 13:12Speaker 1: are we going to go forward and we're always going
- 13:14Speaker 1: to have ten teams that could win it?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Oh?
- 13:17Speaker 1: With the portal? Portal makes that? Yeah? Is that?
- 13:20Speaker 3: Why? Is that?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Is that high? Is it low? Will we have? Will
- 13:24Speaker 1: we have twelve teams? Fourteen teams that can win it?
- 13:28Speaker 3: You know?
- 13:28Speaker 1: What is what does it look like? Well, every single
- 13:31Speaker 1: year we'll have at least eight to ten. That's not
- 13:33Speaker 1: what college football was prior to the splinter fractured world
- 13:40Speaker 1: of talent in college football. That's not what it was.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And now that Bama Georgia and LSU and Ohio State.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I don't know about Ohio State. Actually, that to me,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I get since they can build a little more depth
- 13:53Speaker 1: than our teams that are all over each other down here.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I could be wrong, and I thought they did or
- 14:00Speaker 1: achieved last year considering all the pros they had on
- 14:02Speaker 1: that on that team. However, do you think that? Like
- 14:08Speaker 1: what do you think? You tell us on the text line?
- 14:11Speaker 1: How do you see that? As we're still trying to
- 14:14Speaker 1: I think we need at least three or four more
- 14:16Speaker 1: years to get a real idea of what this can be,
- 14:20Speaker 1: would be, should be, will be? How do you see it?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Do you think we'll have eight, ten, twelve, fourteen teams
- 14:27Speaker 1: that can win it every year because of the portal?
- 14:33Speaker 1: The Dancing Rabbit golf text line is six zho one
- 14:36Speaker 1: eight eight, five three seven seven six. I got an
- 14:40Speaker 1: incredible story for you. We don't talk a lot of soccer,
- 14:43Speaker 1: but Messi is is Linel. Messi is known as, along
- 14:47Speaker 1: with Rinaldo, the last fifteen years, greatest player in the world. Yes,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and what he is doing at thirty nine years old
- 14:53Speaker 1: in the World Cup. Hang with me, because we'll this
- 14:56Speaker 1: is Tom Brady, Michael Jordan type stuff. What he is
- 14:59Speaker 1: do in this World Cup with Argentina is at thirty
- 15:03Speaker 1: nine is remarkable, and what Novak Djokovic is doing in
- 15:07Speaker 1: tennis at thirty nine is remarkable. But this cardiologist posted
- 15:13Speaker 1: on Twitter, Hey, I'm a cardiologist and the greatest footballer
- 15:18Speaker 1: who ever lived. Spent his childhood injecting hormones into his
- 15:24Speaker 1: own legs every single night because his body had stopped growing.
- 15:29Speaker 1: This is the medical story behind Linel Messi. When I
- 15:32Speaker 1: read this a couple of weeks ago, I was like, what,
- 15:35Speaker 1: and he says, it's more extraordinary than most people realize.
- 15:39Speaker 1: At eleven years old, Messi had barely grown since he
- 15:42Speaker 1: was nine, so he stood four foot four. Doctors diagnosed
- 15:48Speaker 1: growth hormone deficiency. All right, so the master gland at
- 15:54Speaker 1: the base of the brain wasn't producing enough growth hormone
- 15:59Speaker 1: Without tree specialists predicted he'd never passed four foot seven. Wow.
- 16:05Speaker 1: The treatment of nightly injections of synthetic growth hormone into
- 16:11Speaker 1: his thighs okay, So a small boy giving himself shots
- 16:16Speaker 1: while other kids played. The costs was around fifteen hundred
- 16:19Speaker 1: a month, impossible for his family in Rosario to pay
- 16:26Speaker 1: for for the long haul as a physician. Let me
- 16:29Speaker 1: tell you that what those injections actually were. Growth hormone
- 16:34Speaker 1: is the most powerful signaling molecules in the human body.
- 16:38Speaker 1: It drives bone growth, muscle development, and tissue repair.
- 16:44Speaker 3: And so.
- 16:47Speaker 1: With that, Without it, you're talking about a child who's
- 16:54Speaker 1: trying to replace this. Okay, it's called a rescue according
- 17:00Speaker 1: to medical terms. Without it, Messi's growth plates would have
- 17:04Speaker 1: fused early and he'd have lived his life severely short.
- 17:08Speaker 1: With it, his body was given the raw material to
- 17:11Speaker 1: become what his genetics intended. This is the same class
- 17:16Speaker 1: of medicine I've written about on this platform. This is
- 17:18Speaker 1: this doctor replacing what the body can't produce, insulin for diabetics,
- 17:23Speaker 1: thyroid hormone for hypothyroidism. And now in the frontier I
- 17:27Speaker 1: keep returning to, we're moving towards cell therapies that could
- 17:31Speaker 1: one day let a body produce these molecules instead of
- 17:37Speaker 1: injecting them nightly. Messi's childhood was the old model of that.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Fight a needle every night for years. Then football history
- 17:47Speaker 1: turned on a napkin. At thirteen, after a trial that
- 17:50Speaker 1: stunned Barcelona sporting director Carlos Rexok grabbed the nearest paper
- 17:56Speaker 1: he could find a restaurant napkin and wrote a Barcelona
- 18:01Speaker 1: would sign him and pay for his treatment. The family
- 18:04Speaker 1: moved to Spain. The injections continued. Linel Messi grew to
- 18:09Speaker 1: five foot seven. That it's a minas. Yeah, and here's
- 18:15Speaker 1: the part that gives me chills as a doctor. The
- 18:17Speaker 1: very thing that nearly ended his dream became the engine
- 18:21Speaker 1: of his greatness. Wow, that low center of gravity, the
- 18:24Speaker 1: short stature everyone once saw as a defect became the
- 18:28Speaker 1: source of the balance. The impossible quick changes of direction.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I've never seen anything like it in sports. The dribbling
- 18:34Speaker 1: no taller player could replicate. They couldn't. His body's limitation,
- 18:38Speaker 1: medically corrected and then weaponized, turned into the most unguardable
- 18:43Speaker 1: weapon in the sports history. Linel Messi. That's a post
- 18:51Speaker 1: on X by Afshin im Rani, medical doctor cardiologist Steve
- 18:58Speaker 1: robertson coming up next on the out of bounds ESPN
- 19:01Speaker 1: one oh five, Down to the zone. What does the
- 19:02Speaker 1: Mississippi State baseball roster look like? Now that the Major
- 19:06Speaker 1: League Baseball Draft is done? We try to get Jake
- 19:12Speaker 1: Thompson on from Ole, miss He had an appointment he'll
- 19:15Speaker 1: be coming on tomorrow. He well, you knew A. S
- 19:18Speaker 1: Reese was gone, but you know, anyway, we're going to
- 19:21Speaker 1: talk about who's leaving, who's coming in, and what this
- 19:25Speaker 1: roster looks like, because y'all need something to look forward to,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and fall ball will start. Evidently fallball's become your second
- 19:34Speaker 1: best sport. That would be fall baseball on the campus
- 19:38Speaker 1: of Mississippi State University because Brian O'Connor is a big
- 19:40Speaker 1: time coach. Steve Robertson coming up next on the Farm
- 19:44Speaker 1: Bureau Insurance.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Guess Line, Oh baby, guess what? Chexas still sucks.
- 20:26Speaker 1: We are the out of Bound show one oh five
- 20:30Speaker 1: nine The Zone ESPN. If you're in Startbell this summer, uh,
- 20:34Speaker 1: you want to hit Older Brother Bistro phenomenal restaurant, lunch
- 20:39Speaker 1: and dinner by Barton Deacons Award winning pitmaster. And then
- 20:44Speaker 1: most everybody knows about two brothers and how they took
- 20:48Speaker 1: the SEC by storm and they got the best wings
- 20:51Speaker 1: in the SEC, some of the best street tacos and
- 20:54Speaker 1: a great atmosphere. So if you're in Start, we'll check
- 20:57Speaker 1: that out. Older Brother Bistro, two brothers rightside each other

- 21:21Speaker 1: We welcome in. Steve Robertson Jean'spage dot com. Uh, I
- 21:25Speaker 1: followed the board all weekend.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Uh.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Steve and his crew had like ninety seven articles or
- 21:30Speaker 1: post and so on what was going on with the
- 21:33Speaker 1: Major League Baseball Draft with everybody from Ace Reese. I mean,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you knew Ace was going right, which is great for him,
- 21:38Speaker 1: Awesome for the Mississippi State baseball program to pump out
- 21:42Speaker 1: another first round pick. Ben Davis went pretty early, blah
- 21:46Speaker 1: blah blah. And look, we're gonna get an idea on
- 21:48Speaker 1: how the roster could look right now. There'll still be
- 21:50Speaker 1: some other movement transaction. Steve Robertson joins us on the
- 21:55Speaker 1: Farm Bureau Insurance guest line, jeanspage dot com. They're all
- 22:00Speaker 1: over this baseball draft and Brian O'Connor squad all right, Steve,
- 22:05Speaker 1: So tell me what the we're getting asked when I
- 22:08Speaker 1: was promoting you. The last couple hours coming on the show,
- 22:14Speaker 1: people are asking about the catcher's position, Mluski's coming back,
- 22:19Speaker 1: what else do they have? What are your expectations there
- 22:22Speaker 1: because it was hit and miss the first six weeks
- 22:25Speaker 1: of the season while they were trying to get Maluski healthy.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Your thoughts, Well, you got Berkeley Mabus coming in from Oregon,
- 22:32Speaker 2: who's an absolute dude. And you know, last year catcher
- 22:36Speaker 2: was a concern. I don't think it's nearly the concern
- 22:38Speaker 2: this year because you're bringing in an elite offensive player,
- 22:42Speaker 2: but more importantly and even better defender than you had
- 22:45Speaker 2: last year. So I think they've been dressed back concern.
- 22:48Speaker 2: And you know, Will Brick wasn't going to help us
- 22:52Speaker 2: much this year, especially offensively. The hit told is hitting
- 22:55Speaker 2: quite there yet. But yeah, I mean I think it
- 22:59Speaker 2: did really well. Berkeley maybe is a guy that's gonna
- 23:03Speaker 2: make this club better.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Okay, So you feel you don't just feel better, you
- 23:08Speaker 1: feel much better considering what they had to navigate this
- 23:12Speaker 1: past year at that position.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Oh absolutely. And listen, we knew last year early in
- 23:17Speaker 2: the fall that the catching position was a little bit
- 23:21Speaker 2: questionable and I think Mlosy came home down the stretch,
- 23:24Speaker 2: maybe the last six weeks ago. He was really good.
- 23:26Speaker 2: But you know, competition makes everybody better. And Berkeley Mabes
- 23:31Speaker 2: is the guy at Oregon wanted to keep and now
- 23:34Speaker 2: he's headed to Mississippi State. So I mean, you're excited
- 23:37Speaker 2: about that aspect of it, But now I'm I'm no
- 23:39Speaker 2: longer concerned about Catcher.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Okay, Steve robertson jeanspage dot com, they'll get you updated.
- 23:45Speaker 1: They've got tons of content on jeanspage dot com with
- 23:49Speaker 1: the draft over the weekend and Brian O'Connor setting up
- 23:52Speaker 1: his twenty twenty seven roster and by the way, we
- 23:56Speaker 1: do need to do this. Congratulations I mean to all
- 23:59Speaker 1: of them, right, But what an I mean, what an
- 24:03Speaker 1: opportunity and how cool is it for ace Res to
- 24:05Speaker 1: be a first round pick out of Mississippi State.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Steve, Yeah, you know, I spoke with him run a
- 24:11Speaker 2: Team USA stuff, just to got to get some contexts
- 24:13Speaker 2: for the guys that made that team, and I taught him.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I said, hey man, best of luck with the draft,
- 24:18Speaker 2: and I'm confidence you're going to go in the first
- 24:20Speaker 2: round and we're going to change that outfield graphic just
- 24:23Speaker 2: for you, brother, and it's like he had never thought
- 24:25Speaker 2: about that aspect of it. He goes, yeah, that is
- 24:27Speaker 2: pretty cool with it. It is cool, you know. I
- 24:30Speaker 2: mean you go back, Bill answer, the first ever number
- 24:33Speaker 2: one pick in Mississippi state history. Now Ace Reeche number
- 24:36Speaker 2: twenty one. That's super cool.
- 24:37Speaker 1: It is cool.
- 24:39Speaker 3: All right?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Will you walk our listeners through why you're excited about
- 24:44Speaker 1: Wilson Anderson, Landon Brown and Ditton Lord Steve Well, you.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Know, typically those guys go pro, you know, I mean
- 24:55Speaker 2: it's like when you begin to think about this class
- 24:59Speaker 2: at the end of the day, Hey, you lost great
- 25:00Speaker 2: position players and two of them reclassed for the draft
- 25:04Speaker 2: in the first place, right, I mean you take a
- 25:06Speaker 2: flyer on Will Brick and Rocko Manasago, hoping they come
- 25:10Speaker 2: to school and hoping they don't get what they want
- 25:12Speaker 2: out of the draft. But you know, Martin Sheeler is
- 25:15Speaker 2: the only true twenty twenty six you lost, and that's
- 25:18Speaker 2: an outfielder. It probably wasn't gonna play a lot this year.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So none of those guys would have made stay better
- 25:24Speaker 2: this year. Obviously, you want their long term potential, so
- 25:28Speaker 2: to say it's not you know, a loss is to
- 25:30Speaker 2: be disingenuous, but you know this baseball club got a
- 25:34Speaker 2: lot better, especially on the pitching side. And you know,
- 25:36Speaker 2: Wilson Anderson is a guy whose brother played at Florida.
- 25:40Speaker 2: It was a lot of chatter when he committed that
- 25:43Speaker 2: he was going to be a high draft pick but
- 25:45Speaker 2: nobody would meet his asking price, and I high up
- 25:48Speaker 2: the him the four GOO college ball and you know,
- 25:51Speaker 2: you were hoping to get maybe two of those three,
- 25:54Speaker 2: end up getting all three of them. And then you
- 25:55Speaker 2: throw in Jay Carba, who ended up having a really good,
- 25:59Speaker 2: uh you know, combine situation where he ended up bringing
- 26:02Speaker 2: right at number two oh three in the draft. So
- 26:06Speaker 2: a lot of your concerns on the pitching side were
- 26:09Speaker 2: a draft. And that's the thing. How many times this
- 26:11Speaker 2: year did you wish you had just one more pitcher? Right? Well,
- 26:15Speaker 2: now you've got a nice foundation, not just the help
- 26:19Speaker 2: this year at the bullpen, but these guys are going
- 26:21Speaker 2: to all compete for a weekend roles in year number two.
- 26:25Speaker 2: And that just again justin Parkner and bron O'Connor stacking
- 26:28Speaker 2: great pitching.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Steve robertson talking uh Brian O'Connor's Mississippi State baseball team
- 26:35Speaker 1: on the ATA Bounds Show, brought to you by two
- 26:37Speaker 1: brothers wings. Enjoy them this summer and have a an
- 26:41Speaker 1: ice cold beverage with it. Steve and his team were
- 26:44Speaker 1: all over the Major League Baseball Draft jeanspage dot com.
- 26:49Speaker 1: You text me earlier this morning, so I'll let you
- 26:52Speaker 1: tell our listeners what Aidentill is going to do.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Well. The fact that he goes in the eleventh round
- 26:58Speaker 2: I think spigs volumes. He wants to sign you. He
- 27:01Speaker 2: got called last year, but I wanted to come in
- 27:05Speaker 2: to Mississippi State and chase a national championship. He was
- 27:07Speaker 2: a draft eligible sophomore last year, So yeah, he has
- 27:11Speaker 2: some leverage this year, and the five of five probably
- 27:13Speaker 2: plays in a little bit. But the fact that they
- 27:16Speaker 2: take him in the eleventh round, you know, tells me
- 27:18Speaker 2: that they're probably going to pay him over that one
- 27:20Speaker 2: p fifty. You know, everybody in eleven through twenty would
- 27:24Speaker 2: leverage gets at least one fifty. I suspect he'll get
- 27:28Speaker 2: better than that. But uh yeah, I mean we went
- 27:30Speaker 2: into the draft expecting him to have an opportunity to sign,
- 27:33Speaker 2: and that's the expectation today.
- 27:37Speaker 1: If there's can you give me, uh, give me what
- 27:43Speaker 1: we just talked about a couple and you can reference
- 27:45Speaker 1: those guys again. Can you give me Jacob Parker's not
- 27:49Speaker 1: fair and the impact that he had this past year.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Good lord, it looks like he wants to be generational
- 27:54Speaker 1: like Raffi and will so. But can you give me
- 27:57Speaker 1: one to three names of guys freshmen coming in that
- 28:02Speaker 1: you think could put themselves in position to have an
- 28:06Speaker 1: impact on the Mississippi States team because of fall ball
- 28:10Speaker 1: in the four weeks coming out of Christmas.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Well, you know, I love the transfer class, but I
- 28:16Speaker 2: think mainly it's freshman arms that can really show some
- 28:19Speaker 2: benefit this year. You know, from the signing class, you
- 28:23Speaker 2: got some younger guys too that have the ability to
- 28:26Speaker 2: meet dudes in time. Noah Dan's is a guy too
- 28:29Speaker 2: that got a lot of draft hype, and I think, honestly,
- 28:33Speaker 2: kind of knowing Rocko was going pro kind of made
- 28:36Speaker 2: his decision a little bit easier that he can come
- 28:38Speaker 2: in here and possibly be, you know, the shortstop of
- 28:41Speaker 2: the future. You know, when roder Woodson moves on after
- 28:44Speaker 2: this year, and Dan's will probably play a little bit
- 28:47Speaker 2: this year, especially in the midweek. Kind of get his
- 28:49Speaker 2: feet wet, see what he can do, and get him
- 28:51Speaker 2: ready for next year. But you know, I think one
- 28:54Speaker 2: probably the only question mark you really have is who's
- 28:56Speaker 2: going to play second base? Right? Is it Graw? You know,
- 29:00Speaker 2: the infielder from South Dakota State. Is he going to
- 29:03Speaker 2: be in the mix? There is Sean James in the
- 29:06Speaker 2: mix of second base. You know, we'll see, But I
- 29:10Speaker 2: think right now you feel like now you've got to
- 29:13Speaker 2: establish roles for these young pitchers. But I think from
- 29:16Speaker 2: a positional standpoint, you're probably right where you want to
- 29:19Speaker 2: be with really the only true maybe competition is second base.
- 29:24Speaker 2: You got three portal outfielders coming in and that pretty
- 29:27Speaker 2: much replaces what you're losing in Bryce Chance Dayton deal
- 29:30Speaker 2: and byess Malinkas. But I think Brian O'Connor is going
- 29:33Speaker 2: to be kind of in the same situation he was
- 29:35Speaker 2: last year, where he's gonna have more guys takele to
- 29:38Speaker 2: play in those nine spots than he's got guys that
- 29:41Speaker 2: you know spots available forre.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Okay, any how much more movement do you expect from
- 29:54Speaker 1: O'Connor and crew.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Well, I'm confident they're going to take another pitch and
- 30:00Speaker 2: you know, I wish they could find a solid left
- 30:03Speaker 2: handed reliever somewhere because you're a little bit sing on
- 30:06Speaker 2: left handed pitching. You know, William Kirk is the guy
- 30:09Speaker 2: working back from an ACL injury. You know what you've
- 30:12Speaker 2: got in Tico Matdx Miller of course as a dude,
- 30:15Speaker 2: and but uh, I think they're probably a soft Paul
- 30:19Speaker 2: short You need another matchup guy out of the bullpen
- 30:23Speaker 2: if you can find one. You don't want to take
- 30:25Speaker 2: a guy just to take a guy. If he's not
- 30:27Speaker 2: capable of h of winning, then you don't want to
- 30:29Speaker 2: go get him. You know, Shine flu is the guy
- 30:31Speaker 2: that transferred in from South Alabama that can be uh,
- 30:34Speaker 2: you know, kind of a long reliever or a matchup guy.
- 30:37Speaker 2: But you know, that's where I think having a guy
- 30:40Speaker 2: like Dame Burns back would have been kind of big,
- 30:44Speaker 2: even though uh, you know Dame's looking for more endings.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But you need that guy that can get you that lefty,
- 30:49Speaker 2: lefty lad in a matchup.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, did I miss you? You covered shortstop?
- 30:59Speaker 1: And oh you mentioned and base. What's gonna happen there?
- 31:01Speaker 1: But they've got options. You feel much better about the
- 31:04Speaker 1: catching position. Sounds like you feel better about the bullpen.
- 31:09Speaker 1: But it's also wait and see to see what plays
- 31:13Speaker 1: out in the fall.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Steve, Yeah, I think so. And again, you know where
- 31:18Speaker 2: is Overbeat gonna play? Is he gonna be at first?
- 31:21Speaker 2: You know where he was much of last year. He
- 31:24Speaker 2: wants to compete at third, but he understands him. So
- 31:29Speaker 2: that's kind of the thing too. It's kind of just
- 31:31Speaker 2: settling where everybody's gonna be. But you know, I think
- 31:34Speaker 2: you've met your knees and I think you feel great
- 31:36Speaker 2: about where you stand. And now it's about getting their
- 31:39Speaker 2: body to campus and getting the work. And all those
- 31:42Speaker 2: pitchers are either guardbore or on their way there today.
- 31:45Speaker 2: That's a big deal, okay.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Steve robertson Jeanspage dot Com. They've been all over it
- 31:52Speaker 1: as far as the Major League Baseball Draft, plus the
- 31:54Speaker 1: portal everything O'Connor, Parker and the whole crew are doing.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Jeans Page dot Com two four seven Sports. Steve Robertson
- 32:01Speaker 1: on the Out of Bounds Show. Thanks, Steve, appreciate you.
- 32:05Speaker 1: All right, So that was a good update, y'all got
- 32:07Speaker 1: a little bit of the fix there, you know. Wilson Anderson,
- 32:12Speaker 1: Landry Brown, Denton Lord all these guys coming in. These
- 32:16Speaker 1: were guys that, eh, you weren't sure you were going
- 32:19Speaker 1: to get on campus, and so I think it looks
- 32:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Landon Brown, Wilson Anderson, Landon Brown, Denton Lord,
- 32:28Speaker 1: among others are According to Steve, they'll be there today
- 32:34Speaker 1: or tomorrow. So that's a good thing. You want them
- 32:37Speaker 1: there on campus, getting into summer school and then starting
- 32:41Speaker 1: to lift and all that kind of stuff. So that's exciting.
- 32:45Speaker 1: And also congratulations for those of you who think I'm crazy.
- 32:53Speaker 1: We talked about this early in the show, the Old
- 32:56Speaker 1: Miss Mississippi State players that got drafted in the first round,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and any of them that got drafted is awesome. But
- 33:03Speaker 1: Kate Townsend round one of the Cubs out of Old Miss,
- 33:09Speaker 1: Taylor Raye first rounder to the Royals out of Old Miss,
- 33:14Speaker 1: and we just mentioned Ace Reese first rounder out of
- 33:18Speaker 1: Mississippi State to the Mariners, so that's cool. Then Ben
- 33:23Speaker 1: Davis went in round number four for MSU, Bryce Chance,
- 33:28Speaker 1: round ten aident till round eleven, we mentioned some of
- 33:34Speaker 1: the signings Manuscalco and Brick on the Old Miss side
- 33:38Speaker 1: to wrap it up after Townsend and Ravee, Hudson, Calhoun
- 33:43Speaker 1: another picture. Early round four, Rangers will Libert to the
- 33:49Speaker 1: Braves right here five hours from where we are. And
- 33:54Speaker 1: for many of you, you watch the Braves every night
- 33:57Speaker 1: or a good bit. So Libert goes to the Braves
- 34:00Speaker 1: in round five and then Landon Knig to the Mets,
- 34:05Speaker 1: Landon Waters to the Blue Jays. Austin Fawley felt like
- 34:09Speaker 1: he played forever good baseball player to the Braves and
- 34:13Speaker 1: JP Robertson another pitcher to the San Francisco Johns in
- 34:19Speaker 1: round twenty. So but I mean that's the first round picks, baby, Yeah. Man,
- 34:32Speaker 1: LSU had some guys drafted. That's crazy that they didn't
- 34:35Speaker 1: have the year. I mean a year they were just
- 34:39Speaker 1: they just it just went to hell. And you know,
- 34:44Speaker 1: we loved their portal class last summer, loved it, of course,
- 34:49Speaker 1: and then they just they couldn't get rolling, and and
- 34:57Speaker 1: then they had a bunch of dudes go MLB. I
- 34:59Speaker 1: don't see that being the case next year. I would
- 35:02Speaker 1: think Jay Johnson will get them back. Go yeah, yeah,
- 35:05Speaker 1: that guy with the baseball dude. One of y'all asked
- 35:10Speaker 1: me the biggest story we'll switch gears in college football
- 35:13Speaker 1: in the state. Well, there's a couple of them. Right,
- 35:15Speaker 1: The biggest story is Golden replacing Kiffin, right, I mean
- 35:20Speaker 1: that's big, Oh yeah, big shoes to fill. Lane had
- 35:24Speaker 1: the greatest run in the history of Old Miss in
- 35:26Speaker 1: the last three years. Were absolutely epic, magical and incredible.
- 35:30Speaker 1: So that's one. How good will we know they'll be good,
- 35:36Speaker 1: But how good will Trinidad and Lacy b and that
- 35:39Speaker 1: Ole Miss defensive line? Okay over in Starbull oh and
- 35:44Speaker 1: Ole Miss three of the first four games. To me,
- 35:47Speaker 1: this is a storyline. Louisville on a neutral field, you're
- 35:52Speaker 1: gonna have to play, two weeks later, Lsu at home.
- 35:55Speaker 1: You love being at home, but you don't have to play,
- 35:57Speaker 1: and then going to Florida, who's going to be much
- 35:59Speaker 1: improved on under Summer Ale. This is a different schedule
- 36:03Speaker 1: than what Lane, who acknowledged this a month ago in
- 36:06Speaker 1: an interview, the incredible non conference schedule that he had,
- 36:11Speaker 1: plus that they landed some good SEC scheduling. Right, This
- 36:15Speaker 1: totally changes for Pete Golding in year one as a
- 36:19Speaker 1: head coach and totally and so we'll see on the
- 36:25Speaker 1: Mississippi state side, y'all know the drill levees on the
- 36:27Speaker 1: hot seat to date, this thing has not gone well.
- 36:35Speaker 1: And you know we've talked will continue to talk about
- 36:39Speaker 1: Camaro Taylor. He's going to be good and the question
- 36:41Speaker 1: for him is how good and how many big moments
- 36:44Speaker 1: will we have when it matters? I don't mean ripping
- 36:46Speaker 1: off a run against Lobb and Roe at Minnesota. Can
- 36:50Speaker 1: he make some place to win you the game? Or
- 36:53Speaker 1: a net South Carolina? Can he make some place to
- 36:55Speaker 1: win your game? You have winnable conference games left and
- 36:58Speaker 1: right that we have talked about a causeum, but it's
- 37:00Speaker 1: it's something that we will continue to hammer. Missouri, Vanderbilt,
- 37:06Speaker 1: and Auburn at home. You've got to make some hay
- 37:11Speaker 1: and Oklahoma may be in play, you know, at LSU
- 37:15Speaker 1: at Texas, I don't. I don't see it and at
- 37:18Speaker 1: Ole miss is probably a stretch for that to be
- 37:21Speaker 1: in play. However, we just mentioned several games that are
- 37:25Speaker 1: including like as good as it gets home game drawl
- 37:29Speaker 1: with Missouri Bandy and Auburn. That's beautiful. So can you
- 37:33Speaker 1: win to a three or I mean if you sweep it,
- 37:36Speaker 1: because he's gonna win some other games he's back. Can
- 37:39Speaker 1: he win to a three and then add and and
- 37:43Speaker 1: do enough to come back. Can he can he Sylvester
- 37:47Speaker 1: Chrome or Sam Pittman? This thing right delay the indevitable? Yeah,
- 37:51Speaker 1: which some of you won't some of you know that's
- 37:53Speaker 1: a you you've you've seen this act before. Somebody who
- 37:58Speaker 1: who doesn't look like they, you know, should be an
- 38:03Speaker 1: SEC head coach right now. Pittman was able to win
- 38:08Speaker 1: nine Crow was able to win a there's I know,
- 38:14Speaker 1: there's some other I mean Mark Stoop's won eight nine
- 38:17Speaker 1: games at Kentucky a couple of times, you know, But
- 38:20Speaker 1: then when that happens, it's automatic that you extend them
- 38:24Speaker 1: and then the majority of the time you fire them
- 38:26Speaker 1: two years later because you either are or you're not
- 38:30Speaker 1: a head coach. And this has been a disaster to date.
- 38:36Speaker 1: And then can Camrio and our net be hercules and
- 38:49Speaker 1: drive enough wins to to not make a move after
- 38:55Speaker 1: the egg Bowl or actually, if things go south, he'll
- 38:58Speaker 1: be removed before then, you know, like the if things
- 39:03Speaker 1: get out from like if he starts winning, he'll he'll
- 39:06Speaker 1: he'll make it throughout the year and then you'll see
- 39:08Speaker 1: how that looks and if he did hit that number,
- 39:11Speaker 1: but he'll be able to But if things go really sideways.
- 39:15Speaker 1: You're you're You're bye week is October tenth, after playing
- 39:18Speaker 1: Alabama at home and then you go to l s U.
- 39:23Speaker 1: You know that could that's when Philip Montgomery could be
- 39:27Speaker 1: the interim coach. We'll see he's your best coach on staff.
- 39:33Speaker 1: It looks to me like it's it's too little, too late,
- 39:37Speaker 1: just because you know, the initial staffing was so bad
- 39:44Speaker 1: that I don't know, maybe you can turn the corner
- 39:47Speaker 1: and and make it work. Tomoro is special. Yeah, he
- 39:50Speaker 1: is a phenomenal player who can rip off a run
- 39:53Speaker 1: or something and tilt the field and and win the
- 39:56Speaker 1: game for you. Sure, and our Nette will be just
- 40:00Speaker 1: it's like you know, this glass will be Arnette will
- 40:05Speaker 1: be better than Coleman Hutzler, just like this stellar Ta
- 40:09Speaker 1: glass would be better than Coleman Hutzler. I mean, Jackson
- 40:13Speaker 1: Meadows from his couch capolling plays would be better than
- 40:19Speaker 1: Coleman Hutt. I can't believe y'all have done this. It
- 40:22Speaker 1: is mind boggling to me, and what a slap in
- 40:25Speaker 1: the face to Mississippi State fans and donors. But this
- 40:29Speaker 1: is evidently what people want to do. So but Tomrio
- 40:36Speaker 1: could make it a fun year. You haven't had a
- 40:37Speaker 1: play maker quarterback since Fitz. That's right, all right, So
- 40:41Speaker 1: for whatever reason, you saw the model that worked and
- 40:43Speaker 1: then you went away from it. I don't like lines
- 40:46Speaker 1: and tigers, and I mean you got your rival up
- 40:49Speaker 1: there that said, you know, dual threat quarterbacks kind of work.
- 40:51Speaker 1: So we'll go with Matt crow Jackson, Dark Trinidad Channels.
- 40:58Speaker 1: If CA Mario extends this thing, he'd deserves some of
- 41:00Speaker 1: that pay. Oh he's getting paid no seven figure, Yeah
- 41:03Speaker 1: he deserves Oh yeah yeah, yeah, So what Arnette? Yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 1: I get it, I get it.
- 41:08Speaker 3: I mean.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I would send him an invoice. But with the
- 41:16Speaker 1: bottom three zero line coach and bottom three D line
- 41:18Speaker 1: coach Man Camrio and Fluff on one side, and Arnett
- 41:23Speaker 1: and Brock on the other, and Isaac Smith and a
- 41:27Speaker 1: couple others are going to have to be damn good
- 41:29Speaker 1: to overcome that that deficiency. So we'll see. But you
- 41:32Speaker 1: got one. I mean at Minnesota, you should you have
- 41:35Speaker 1: more money in way more money in your team than them,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and you should have better athletes sun Belt than saying
- 41:41Speaker 1: you know, so that that's also a winnable game, So
- 41:47Speaker 1: you you should you should have more again, PJ. Fleck
- 41:50Speaker 1: by far and away the better head coach over the
- 41:53Speaker 1: last ten or twelve years because he's got head coaching
- 41:55Speaker 1: experience in his one Holy smokes though, to me, that
- 41:59Speaker 1: minis Soda game huge. And then Pete's you know, he
- 42:06Speaker 1: can't drop Ole Miss is better than Louisville, but he
- 42:09Speaker 1: and Lowell's breaking in a new QB. So I mean,
- 42:14Speaker 1: this is an advance. But Brom's been a head coach
- 42:16Speaker 1: way longer than Golding, but that still favors Old Miss.
- 42:19Speaker 1: But then two weeks later, September nineteenth, LSU at home. God,
- 42:23Speaker 1: that's a big one for Pete. And then the next
- 42:25Speaker 1: week after that emotional game, you've got to go down
- 42:27Speaker 1: to Florida, and Florida's got players, and they're physical, and
- 42:31Speaker 1: they're gonna be way more physical under John Sommerl and
- 42:34Speaker 1: Brad White. That's gonna be a little that's gonna be
- 42:37Speaker 1: a lot different as far as navigating that compared to
- 42:40Speaker 1: the unbelievable schedule Ole Miss has pulled the last three years.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Those are the story lines. Yeah, I'm sure I'm missing
- 42:54Speaker 1: one or two, but those are the big ones. Golding
- 42:58Speaker 1: replacing Lane, can he do it? Who knows Levy on
- 43:02Speaker 1: the hot seat, Ken Camrio, Arnette and All and the
- 43:06Speaker 1: crew extend his tenure in starbul Mississippi. Have a great Monday.
