- 0:21The web at MB radio dot hey. Let's go right now.
- 0:26Get in here. Hey, we got 4 events for the
- 0:29rest of our life. For the rest of our life.
- 0:33That's all about first down. It happening.
- 0:35We get to fall. I promise you one thing.
- 0:37We're gonna hit somebody and we're taking downfield for touch
- 0:40them. I guarantee you that.
- 0:41Guarantee that. Look at me.
- 0:44Let's go. Let's go for the rest of our
- 0:48life. The final time out.
- 1:04Welcome. Good morning, ladies and
- 1:06gentlemen. Producer just said you were
- 1:09watching the final time out, the All Star show.
- 1:13We had the MLB All Star weekend wrap up last night with a for
- 1:19the nothing victory for the AL All Stars.
- 1:23Got to say I was a little surprised by that result.
- 1:27Definitely the NL, the more talented league, but the AL was
- 1:31was all over them. The match up that we saw a lot
- 1:35of pitching dominance in as well.
- 1:38You know, Carlos Sanchez had himself a rough.
- 1:44Not Carlos Christopher Sanchez had a rough first inning and
- 1:50that's where most of our runs came from.
- 1:53You had three runs scored for the AL there.
- 1:57And then after that it was it was mostly quiet for the rest of
- 2:04the night on terms of pitching the, the OR in terms of batting
- 2:08the, the pitchers, like I said, just very dominant.
- 2:11Obviously this is something that that'll happen.
- 2:13You know, it's year, the year it's like what's going to you've
- 2:18got these great batters, you've got these great pitchers and
- 2:21it's like which one's going to kind of take, you know, is it
- 2:24going to be evenly matched? Sometimes it is.
- 2:26Sometimes one of the ball just is really dominant.
- 2:30And in this year, this case, we just saw a lot of fantastic
- 2:34pitching was 3 O for most of the game.
- 2:37Miguel Vargas added our final score with a solo home run at
- 2:45the top of the eighth inning. And I was that was all she wrote
- 2:51for the scoring. We had some fantastic pitching
- 2:54performances on both sides. Sanchez obviously tough to to do
- 3:01that in front of the the home crowd there in Philadelphia.
- 3:04You know, the A3 RA was able to get out of the inning but had to
- 3:11throw 34 pitches. It was, it was a tough one, but
- 3:17then you look at back at some of these other guys throughout the
- 3:21night. Jesus Lazardo for the for the NL
- 3:29had himself a fantastic showing in the in the 4th inning.
- 3:36Only 6 pitches thrown in there. He got out, really got out of
- 3:40there really fast over on the NL side.
- 3:44I really liked when Jacob Lats did, man, he just came out there
- 3:49like it was really, it was really quick getting off the off
- 3:55the mound though. You had Dylan Cece who opened it
- 4:01up, man, he got 3 strikeouts. You know, I was looking a little
- 4:05choppy for him at first, but once he got, once he got into
- 4:10the groove, he really got through that first inning, kept
- 4:13that lead, lead for himself overall, just a, a clinic of
- 4:20pitching really from both sides. But it's just one bad inning,
- 4:25man. And A and a game like this where
- 4:26it's a defensive really just a defensive brawl back and forth
- 4:30can really tip the the scales and one team's favor K I'll give
- 4:39it to the MLB All Star weekend though.
- 4:41I want to know what my viewers think, but what's your guys
- 4:45favorite like pro sports All Star type of weekend?
- 4:49I do think the MLB does it the best.
- 4:52It's not like it's probably between the MLB or NHL.
- 4:57Those games they they feel the most competitive, they're the
- 5:00most interesting. I mean the the Pro Bowl week for
- 5:04the NFL has become a total joke in my opinion.
- 5:08That's it's not barely even watched anymore.
- 5:12Nobody cares. It's honestly just a a way for
- 5:18players to start their their vacations early.
- 5:21You get basically a paid trip to to where it like Vegas or
- 5:26Hawaii, wherever they they're they be hosting it.
- 5:29So NBA All Star weekend, like you got some cool competitions
- 5:34like the dunk contest, the three-point contest.
- 5:36The games overall have been pretty lackluster the past
- 5:40couple years. We've had like the, the Four
- 5:43Nations thing that the, the NHL does, which has been really
- 5:48good. But there's something about the,
- 5:52the MLB All Star game. You can still, guys can still
- 5:58kind of go out, give it their all.
- 6:00And you know, you just really, you're not really sure what to
- 6:02expect with it 'cause like this game, a lot of defense, I mean,
- 6:06a lot of great outfield plays made fantastic pitching.
- 6:12As I keep driving home, it was just a really tough defensive
- 6:19battle. You even had like some people,
- 6:24not intentionally, but you know, there's there was a little bit
- 6:28of drama. Junior Camarena got hit by a
- 6:32pitch. I know that was a tough one for
- 6:37to watch man that that looked like it hurt. 97 mile per hour
- 6:41fastball problem right on the side of the hand.
- 6:44So that'll he's definitely going to be out for a while.
- 6:48I think he avoided breaking anything but some major bruising
- 6:53there for sure, which is but at least there's nothing.
- 6:56Nothing's broken and sucks for the Rays.
- 6:59They're having a really great season and now they're going to
- 7:01be losing one of their top guys to injury.
- 7:06It should not something you want to see in an All Star game.
- 7:15But yeah, let me know what you're let me know down below
- 7:18what your thoughts are. What's your favorite pro sports
- 7:22All Star weekend? And I didn't even mention some
- 7:25of the the festivities. I mean, really the the big one
- 7:28is the the Home Run Derby, a celebrity softball game.
- 7:31I'm not too interested in that. That one's just, that one's not
- 7:37too good. So we I I didn't really watch
- 7:39that, but the Home Run Derby, yeah, we had, we had the banger
- 7:44this year in the Home Run Derby been the new rules, which I
- 7:48thought were pretty cool. So, you know, instead of it
- 7:52being like a timer or there being outs, anything like that,
- 7:56you just get 20 straight swings, take them out the pace you kind
- 8:01of want to and you can't end on a home run.
- 8:07So you can theoretically get extra swings getting home runs,
- 8:13which we only really saw coming to play once, but it was in the
- 8:18pretty big moment. So, you know, let's start in
- 8:22Round 1. Wilson Contreras set the bar
- 8:26super high, 13 homers to start. I mean, they were blasting them
- 8:33on Monday night. I mean, we were seeing some
- 8:35absolute bombs, couple of like third deckers up there at
- 8:40Citizen Bank Park. The the Philly fans were a great
- 8:45crowd. They were booing everybody
- 8:48except their guys, which, you know, Bryce Harper and Kyle
- 8:52Schwarber, both both competing in the Home Run Derby this year.
- 8:57But yeah, Contreras set the bar pretty high.
- 9:02Jordan Walker was the only ones from round one that was able to
- 9:05match him with 13 home runs. You know, this even some guys
- 9:12that struggled like Ben Rice didn't get off to the the
- 9:17greatest start neither neither did the Lusakani from the White
- 9:26Sox, but they both finished pretty strong.
- 9:29When Rice, I mean, Rice got hit by a pitch from his dad, was
- 9:34pitching for him and his dad hit him with the pitch.
- 9:36It was it's crazy. Real minds joking, like, all
- 9:40right, that's it, Charge the man got to go, got to go get pops
- 9:43after that one. Yeah, You had a Camarillo before
- 9:51he got hurt with the the 12. Twelve home runs in the first
- 9:57round, Schwarber and Harper both shut out, got just enough to or
- 10:02Schwarber did get just enough to move on to the the final four
- 10:06with 10. So Harper came up just a little
- 10:10short. He had he had nine at the end of
- 10:14it, then moved on to Round 2 and Camarena did not not do too
- 10:28great. Round two only got 5, but him
- 10:33and Walker really were both kind of made of Round 2, so it was a
- 10:38good thing they went up against each other.
- 10:40Walker squeaked out of that one with only six home runs.
- 10:44It was definitely looked like it was.
- 10:46It was tiring. Some guys are getting gassed.
- 10:49You only had 15 pitches in the second rounds, Schwarber and
- 10:54Wilson. Contreras was a good semi finals
- 10:57match. Contreras was chasing Schwarber
- 11:01with nine home runs and he was. He didn't get off to the best
- 11:06start, but he nearly caught him there at the end.
- 11:08Wasn't quite able to. He needed to get a Homer in his
- 11:12final to tie it up and then get one extra pitch to potentially
- 11:18take it. Wasn't quite able to get it done
- 11:23and our final was set between Jordan Walker and Kyle Schwarber
- 11:28and Schwarber's come up close and a couple of these home run
- 11:33derbies, but has never been able to really get the job done.
- 11:37Has had I mean just had some crazy comebacks pulled on him.
- 11:41But he started off incredibly strong with got eleven home
- 11:47runs, was looking pretty confident and Jordan Walker
- 11:53didn't get off to the best start.
- 11:55Caught some steam though late and all of a sudden he's he's
- 12:05getting close. But Schwarber still got a good
- 12:07lead. Comes down to he's got eight
- 12:09home runs going into his final swing and Schwarber's got 11 and
- 12:15Walker gets a home run with that final swing.
- 12:20So he gets to keep going, hits another one, then he hits
- 12:23another and all of a sudden we're tied up and Schwarber is
- 12:27looking at losing another Home Run Derby to an insane comeback.
- 12:32And the final pitch comes out, Walker gets it.
- 12:35It's drifting, drifting and just clears the wall, goes out into
- 12:41the stands, another home run, and that does it.
- 12:45Walker takes home the 2026 Home Run Derby on an insane come
- 12:51back. I mean, I was so incredible just
- 12:55for the two toughness to get that done at the at the end of
- 12:59it. But because I mean, you're you
- 13:03can get a little tired of hitting those hitting like or
- 13:08just hitting constantly. Like even though you're not
- 13:10running like it and that the pitches aren't anything crazy,
- 13:15you can tell like you get a little fatigued.
- 13:20So it's really just like after, you know, hitting fifty or
- 13:28having 50 swings on the night to go out there and get 4 extras to
- 13:36come back and win, it was incredible.
- 13:38But we'll take a look at some of the highlights and longest home
- 13:41runs from the guy. So Walker, your winner, his
- 13:44longest was 455 feet and his top speed on a Homer was 113 miles
- 13:53an hour. He was averaging 429 feet per
- 13:57per Homer and averaging around one O 7 on his exit velocity.
- 14:03Schwarber got a a longest 1 of 445.
- 14:08He's averaging around 416. Again, 113 was his tough highest
- 14:12exit exit velocity and and the that was in the finals and the
- 14:21semis. He actually hit a 449 foot Homer
- 14:28and was averaging around 410 feet.
- 14:32Contreras he hit some of the biggest bombs on the the
- 14:36semifinals. He had a 461 feet or foot home
- 14:42run. Walker in the semi finals
- 14:48against Cam Marino was hit a 468 foot home run with A and he had
- 14:56a highest exit ELO of velocity of 114.
- 15:04But not to be outdone Cam Marino hit a 491 foot home run.
- 15:10I believe that was the furthest of the the night.
- 15:16It was, yeah, it was a it was a bomb.
- 15:20He just passed Contreras who hit a 490 foot Homer.
- 15:24So like they were blasted these last night.
- 15:26When I tell you, you know, Harper had the had a good one,
- 15:30482 feet in the first round. Camarino in the first round got
- 15:37another good one that went 487 with a 116 exit velocity.
- 15:50Murakimi with from the White Sox got 1466.
- 15:57Jack Caglion from the Royals didn't have the strongest show
- 16:02on the man When he got him, he really got them.
- 16:05I was averaging 111 on his exit velocity and they were all going
- 16:10around 448 feet with as long as being 477.
- 16:13So even the guys that didn't have a ton of home runs, man
- 16:17they well, they got him. They got him.
- 16:19It was a pretty good home run contest.
- 16:22Like I mentioned Contreras first round 490 foot Homer with 115
- 16:29exit velocity. So really fun and exciting All
- 16:35Star weekend and we will so you're going to have a little
- 16:40break from a baseball in the time being.
- 16:45Let's see games start back up I believe on Friday, maybe
- 16:48Saturday, Thursday actually July 16th.
- 16:55So we're Mets and Phillies will get us back on their way and
- 16:59then we're back into your regularly scheduled MLB action
- 17:04Friday into Saturday. But taking a look at what the
- 17:10the standings are looking like at the mid season.
- 17:12So Rays with a comfortable lead, not a comfortable lead, but with
- 17:17a a couple game lead over the Yankees in the American League
- 17:23looking like it's it's going to be a race between those two.
- 17:26The White Sox and the Guardians also neck and neck in the AL
- 17:30Central. That's going to be a very
- 17:32interesting race. Interested to see how that one
- 17:36plays out. The AL West just the the
- 17:42conference of mid honestly. Mariners.
- 17:47The Rangers are right now the battle for 1st and 2nd.
- 17:50The Astros could potentially catch them.
- 17:53Athletics and Angels if they catch a hot streak, maybe have a
- 18:01shot, but they're really starting to slip behind you.
- 18:04Go to the NLA. Much better conference here.
- 18:07The I know E has the Braves and Phillies are neck and neck right
- 18:15there 554054 and 43. Also the Marlins aren't having
- 18:22too bad of a year though the Marlins could be a sneaky wild
- 18:25card team. I got 52 wins on the season.
- 18:29We'll see how that how they're looking is that wild card Gray
- 18:32shapes up Brewers with a five game lead over the Cubs with the
- 18:38Cubs and the Cardinals both having some pretty good seasons.
- 18:41Pirates aren't too bad this year either.
- 18:43So they got very competitive there.
- 18:47Milwaukee definitely wants to keep, but they've got going.
- 18:52Can't let your foot up off the gas cuz all it takes is one of
- 18:56these teams get hot down the stretch and you could all of a
- 18:59sudden be looking at potentially losing your your your division.
- 19:05Then the Dodgers got a pretty comfortable lead over everybody
- 19:08in the NL. W Padres are 4848 Diamondbacks
- 19:1449 and 47. Rockies Giants are both have a
- 19:20pretty, pretty underwhelming season as well.
- 19:23I mean, actually the Rockies 39 and 59 is a big improvement from
- 19:27what we've seen in the past two years.
- 19:28They've got a playoff caliber offense.
- 19:31They just have the absolute worst pitching in the league.
- 19:35But the Dodgers best team and the entire MLB right now with a
- 19:3961 and 36 record. They also by far in the way have
- 19:47the largest run differential at plus 149 are absolutely tearing
- 19:55up The league. Still feels like it is there.
- 20:03World Series to lose at this point, we'll see.
- 20:06The injuries are injuries are a thing.
- 20:09It's so nothing's guaranteed and this game, but we're going to go
- 20:18ahead and hit the first music break of the day.
- 20:24When we come back, we're going to dive a little bit into the
- 20:26World Cup. We're only down to three teams
- 20:28left and we will have our third place match and our finals match
- 20:34all set after England and Argentina's game today.
- 20:38So don't go anywhere. You're watching the final time
- 20:42out here on the station. Giving our veterans a voice.
- 20:45NBR. The station where our veterans
- 24:59voices are heard. MBR talk.
- 25:02Hey folks, thanks for tuning in. You're giving veterans a voice
- 25:06today, powered by Work Simple, where we simplify your mission.
- 25:10Just on the web at MB radio dot. Welcome back, ladies and
- 25:16gentlemen. You're watching The Final Time
- 25:18out here on military broadcast radio.
- 25:22Howard Work, Temple the Goat. Thank you Work Simple for the
- 25:29awesome studio that we have out here in Westminster, Co.
- 25:34All right, ladies and gentlemen, the World Cup is coming to an
- 25:37end. I know this was a big year for
- 25:41US men's soccer. They made it all the way to the
- 25:44round of 16. Definitely a tough way to go
- 25:49out. We'll discuss that here.
- 25:53But got to say, I think this is, it's been, it's been good for
- 25:59the the sport here in the States.
- 26:02Maybe hopefully this leads to more people getting invested in
- 26:08soccer and the better youth developmental program.
- 26:12There'll be some challenges facing that because a lot with
- 26:15problem with a lot of the youth sports nowadays in this country
- 26:18is that it is all very, very hard to afford just a little,
- 26:26which is very unfortunate because we're probably they miss
- 26:30out on some incredibly talented athletes because they just don't
- 26:34they financially just don't have their families, just financially
- 26:38don't have the way to get them involved in sports and into the
- 26:42right developmental programs and all of that.
- 26:46But that's a. We we have a text.
- 26:51Somebody is listening to us today.
- 26:57Where's the where from, Jewel? The Philippines.
- 27:00Oh, nice. Well, hello from the
- 27:01Philippines. Thank you for I don't, I'm not
- 27:05really sure what the time zone difference is there, but it's I
- 27:08think it's. I think it's party time there
- 27:10right now. Yeah, late at Yeah, late at
- 27:13night. So why?
- 27:13Thanks for starting your Wednesday night with me.
- 27:15I appreciate that. Well, let's get into let's talk
- 27:20some some soccer. We'll we'll start, you know,
- 27:26with that tough loss to Belgium that the US men's team did take
- 27:32was a it's kind of just a a perfect storm.
- 27:39First of all, like for for these guys that were a lot of them
- 27:44don't play in major leagues in Europe around the world.
- 27:52There's a lot of MLS players here.
- 27:54MLS games aren't exactly getting sold out crowds.
- 27:59So for a lot of these guys, this was the biggest game of their
- 28:03career. And all of a sudden you went
- 28:07from being the fun, scrappy underdog team to the bad guys
- 28:12because of the whole Balligan red card being overturned, which
- 28:24definitely solely the vibes there.
- 28:27And I get, I do like it's one of those things where it's like it
- 28:31was a terrible red card to begin with, like he shouldn't have had
- 28:35it. But then also to like, maybe, I
- 28:40don't know, maybe we could have just been you.
- 28:43You could have it wouldn't have been as bad if Trump didn't say
- 28:47himself that he called into FIFA personally that to ask to get
- 28:53the red card overturned. And I mean, you can get to to
- 28:57the semantics of, well, you know, he just called and asked.
- 29:02That doesn't mean he he requested, demanded a formal
- 29:06investigation. But it's still just to have a
- 29:11government official of any capacity making calls to FIFA
- 29:15and making requests when we all, like most people that know FIFA,
- 29:21know that it's essentially a criminal organization
- 29:25masquerading as a sports league. Not a good look.
- 29:30And I think that that added, you know, that added a ton of extra
- 29:34pressure to these guys, 'cause now all of a sudden you're the
- 29:38bad guy and everyone's rooting on you to fail.
- 29:41And it just it it all showed up on the pitch Monday night that
- 29:48there are a few Monday nights ago and just absolutely ran
- 29:52through US two. I mean, two inexcusable goals
- 29:57where it's like, I mean, this is like the highest level of
- 29:59soccer. I mean, and you're this is
- 30:01middle school stuff. Like what are we, why are we not
- 30:05defending on the back end and leaving, you know, letting a guy
- 30:08run straight towards our goal to get A and get an easy cross pass
- 30:14or like our defenseman and our goalie both just riffing on a
- 30:19ball and giving out an easy straight on shot like goals one
- 30:25and three. We're just absolutely
- 30:28inexcusable. And that was a.
- 30:33Tough way to go out but. And you know even how.
- 30:38With how great this tournament was, that'll be what we remember
- 30:42a lot from that was this the fee, which which sucks because
- 30:44it was a very, it was a very. Fun.
- 30:48Fun tournament up until that point and.
- 30:52We can try to look at. For some Silver Linings is that
- 30:55yes, that we definitely. Are start, you know.
- 30:59We're we're starting to see the pro, the vision and what's
- 31:02getting built there. We've got some, really.
- 31:07Exciting players until then, Balagan who could.
- 31:12Definitely be the. Future face of this team?
- 31:15I'm not really sure I'm sold on Polisic.
- 31:18He was supposed to be our big star guy.
- 31:21From what I've heard he's also just always injured.
- 31:26And he didn't. You know, no goals not, he
- 31:29wasn't a hugely impactful player, so it might be time to
- 31:33kind of move away from him as the face of the team, but we've
- 31:35got a lot of exciting young and talented players that we can
- 31:41turn to and you know. Hopefully we.
- 31:47Were there some more wine in the woodworks that are are ready?
- 31:52To earn their. Spot on the team.
- 31:58But looking back. At some other fantastic matches,
- 32:02Mexico and England on Sunday, July 6th.
- 32:08Was one. Heck of a game.
- 32:11One of the game. My favorite games of the
- 32:14tournament. You just had.
- 32:19I mean that. Basically a home game for
- 32:22Mexico, you know, in Mexico City at the historic Azteca Stadium
- 32:29and just some teams trading haymakers.
- 32:34A lot of great attacks from both sides.
- 32:42Leave hair. What's his name?
- 32:44Harry Kane opened it up with a a penalty kick.
- 32:53You had, I mean, it was, it was scrappy too.
- 32:56You had guys just paddling out there on the pitch.
- 33:01Lot of lot of pushing and shoving.
- 33:05All accounts. England got a red card, which
- 33:09was. Put them down to. 10 guys and
- 33:14now they're going to be missing. I forget who got the name of the
- 33:17guy that got the red, but they'll be missing him here for
- 33:20this match. Which or no?
- 33:22No, no, no. They're.
- 33:24They're on take that back. They he'll be back.
- 33:27He served as suspension already. It was Gerald Kwanash, but Kwan
- 33:32Kwanzaa. He missed the he missed the
- 33:36match against Norway, but Jude Bellington was fantastic.
- 33:41He's been really in the knockout round.
- 33:43He's been England's best player. Hurricane, like I said, didn't
- 33:47have the penalty goal but Bellingham scored the other two
- 33:53for them. Kenya and Raul Jimenez with the
- 33:57two goals for. Mexico.
- 34:01Yeah, the the environment there was insane.
- 34:03I mean, it was. Real credit I got to give.
- 34:07England credit because that like at that altitude because like
- 34:11Mexico Azteca stadiums like really high up and it like it's
- 34:15hostile. You had the Mexico fans found
- 34:19their hotel and were firing off fireworks before their game,
- 34:24playing loud music. So just a tough.
- 34:28Environment to play in, but they came out, got the dub.
- 34:34So. Credit.
- 34:35To them. Let's see here Friday.
- 34:51We're going to go back to Friday, July 10th.
- 34:54This is where Spain's been on one of the more impressive runs
- 34:57of this entire tournaments. And they took down.
- 35:03They avenged the, I mean, I'm sure they weren't doing that for
- 35:05us. They avenged our loss to
- 35:08Belgium. I think Spain, I think they're
- 35:12going to. I think they're going to win it
- 35:13all, I really do. I'm looking at how they've run
- 35:16through this tournament. And I really think.
- 35:21They've got a great shot to. Win it.
- 35:27They have a a young. Superstar Player.
- 35:32On their team. And lemony Amal.
- 35:38But then also just. Like a ton of experienced, great
- 35:43veteran players. It's a team that's been together
- 35:46for a while, it appears on this game against Belgium, you know,
- 35:51Jamal had a couple of shot attempts, but it was, you know,
- 35:55and some pressure. But it was, it was guys like.
- 36:00Mikhail Marino. And Fabian Ruiz.
- 36:05That scored the goals there. For them, and look at how
- 36:08they've gone through this, this tournament just in general,
- 36:12they've been a very. I mean, they've just been very.
- 36:17Dominant so. And I think they the.
- 36:22The the draw against Cabo very day and their first game that
- 36:26was I think that was great for them.
- 36:28That woke them up and I think really alerted them to what they
- 36:33like. They've, I'm assuming that, you
- 36:36know, they probably thought that would be a cakewalk game.
- 36:40And then they really realize. I think that really made them
- 36:42take a hard look at what they were struggling at, what they
- 36:45needed to improve. And since then, I mean, they've
- 36:47just been one of the most consistently dominant teams.
- 36:51They've only conceded 2. Goals or one?
- 36:54Goal this entire tournament. So.
- 36:59Defensively, they've been great and like the offense gets going
- 37:04and they had four against Saudi Arabia in the very following
- 37:07game. One nil victory over Uruguay get
- 37:10to the knockout stage and they took out Austria 3 to nothing,
- 37:16beat a very good Portugal team, one to nothing, Belgium, the
- 37:21only team to score on them and they're 2 to one victory for
- 37:24them. And then against a few days
- 37:28yesterday against the overwhelming favorite when this
- 37:31tournament started, France to go to a two nil victory.
- 37:37And I mean, like you watch that game like Spain was in control
- 37:43of that game for all I mean, basically all of it.
- 37:48They really dominated from start to finish.
- 37:55France just I mean, they didn't get a lot of opportunities to
- 37:58attack. You know, Kilian Mbappe and then
- 38:04Belly, their two leading goal scorers just had a tough time
- 38:09getting good shot opportunities. I mean, they were between those
- 38:12two of them, they only had five shots in total, which.
- 38:17Is not, you know. That's so not a position France
- 38:20wants to be in. Excuse me and then?
- 38:28I mean you got. Some defenders for.
- 38:31For Spain, coming down and getting goals, they just had a
- 38:36lot, lot more ball control, a lot more pressure.
- 38:42And I mean you could. They probably have a lot more
- 38:44support. Too.
- 38:46Who's Spain? Spain, yeah.
- 38:49What do you mean like by? Support.
- 38:50Well, I mean, you know. OK, so we already know that like
- 38:54European countries, they definitely have more support and
- 38:57more financial Oh, Oh yeah for. For.
- 39:01For, you know, soccer 'cause we're not really a a soccer
- 39:05country. So Spain and who they're going
- 39:09against, I mean, Spain's been doing this for a while.
- 39:12I mean, this is kind of their sport, yeah.
- 39:15Oh no, it definitely is. I mean.
- 39:17They've they won the World Cup back in 2010 and France, I mean,
- 39:21France also has a lot of support.
- 39:23They've, I mean, this is like their fifth time in like the
- 39:28past 6-6 or seven tournaments that they've made it to the semi
- 39:34finals or, or deeper. So I mean, those are, I mean,
- 39:39this is an incredibly good French team.
- 39:40They're they're super deep, but this is also really deep
- 39:45Spanish, Spanish team. And yeah, I mean, I think they
- 39:50just they just seem to completely overwhelm France.
- 39:55So this might be the a good moment for.
- 40:00You know this. Is kind of like a defining
- 40:03moment for Embape. How this was it like this was?
- 40:11I don't really. Maybe people who who fall soccer
- 40:14more closely will see it, but I was seeing online it was being
- 40:17compared to 2010 Messi. And so obviously we know how
- 40:20Messi's career has gone. He's widely regarded as the
- 40:24greatest of all time, so this could be a big swing.
- 40:27Moment in his. Career we'll see how he comes
- 40:30back in the next World Cup but yeah to work focus right now on
- 40:35Spain and they. I think they'll win it.
- 40:40I regardless of if it's England or Argentina that comes out of
- 40:45it, I really do think Spain, they've just been phenomenal
- 40:51defensively in gold tech keeping.
- 40:55They. They counter attack super well.
- 41:00They they to me are. The the favorite left.
- 41:05The other two teams. On the left you've got England
- 41:08and as they're now affectionately known of
- 41:13Argentina. So that I mean, England's kind
- 41:16of it's kind of England versus the refs.
- 41:19I mean, Argentina's a great team.
- 41:25But they have. Like have not really looked
- 41:28great in a lot of the matchups, some bailout calls both against
- 41:34Cabo Verde and Egypt 2 games that they very easily could have
- 41:40lost a couple of really crucial goals disallowed both on some
- 41:46like very picky tacky offside calls.
- 41:54And then yes, Switzerland. That game against Switzerland
- 41:57was was close, but it just felt like the the calls kept stacking
- 42:02up for Argentina and eventually they got it.
- 42:06So I got. I kind of see like it.
- 42:08It just seems like they're. They don't want Messi to.
- 42:14Lose. I don't know what it is, but
- 42:16yeah, Argentina's been a frustrating team to watch
- 42:20because. I I I see why.
- 42:23They they are. They're called of Argentina.
- 42:28But again, they do also. Have some incredible players.
- 42:32You know, Messi's at his whole age, she's kind of just there
- 42:35along for the ride. And he was really great in the
- 42:37knockout stage. But it's been guys like Julio
- 42:40Alvarez, Latro Martinez, Nico Gonzalez, like guys like those
- 42:48have been really leading the charge for them in these these
- 42:53knockout games. I will say that they're.
- 42:56They they are a great team. They play really well together
- 42:59as a team. So I mean, it's not.
- 43:03It's not surprising to me that they are.
- 43:09That they are. They're as.
- 43:10Good as they are, but yeah, they I mean they were really
- 43:14deadlocked with Switzerland the all of regulation and went in
- 43:20the extra time and then an extra time.
- 43:24They scored two goals. To get that three to one victory
- 43:28there. So it was a great run from the
- 43:30Swiss though to get the down to the to get to the the
- 43:37quarterfinals. But their their opponent
- 43:41England. Again, another master.
- 43:45Class from Jude Bellingham against Norway.
- 43:47Two goals in this one and then they did a pretty good job of
- 43:53keeping Holland away from good striking opportunities.
- 43:56Nor was a fun team to watch as bummed that they they didn't
- 43:59advance. Question why Holland was taken
- 44:04off the field in the extra or the in the stoppage time.
- 44:10Especially when you're trailing. He's one of the best strikers on
- 44:13the entire planet, so that doesn't make a ton of sense to
- 44:15me. But and then they they.
- 44:20Missed him on some opportunities there as well, but Norway I
- 44:24think really exceeded expectations.
- 44:26And when a guy like Holland, he's going to come back, he's
- 44:29going to be there for the the Norwegian team are we were not.
- 44:35Ready to go on break? Not quite.
- 44:37OK, my bad. Come on.
- 44:38Minutes. OK, my.
- 44:40Bad. So I'll to.
- 44:43Look ahead at tonight's match up for England versus.
- 44:49Argentina. It's going to be interesting
- 44:51because from the history I've learned England has definitely
- 44:56gotten screwed by the the refs and had some really bad losses
- 45:02in the. In the past.
- 45:06That were really controversial, so we got a text.
- 45:09From TikTok, it says Which player do you expect to be the
- 45:14biggest impact in the semifinals in tonight's game?
- 45:19That. I mean.
- 45:20For me it's Bellingham, I think he's going.
- 45:24He's been so. Dominant the the past two games,
- 45:27I mean, two goals in his in his past two games and like I said,
- 45:31he's really looked like England's top player in in this.
- 45:38I think Argentina is an overall more well-rounded and deeper
- 45:43team. But England again, it's a very,
- 45:48it's a veteran team and they've got Harry Kane still a
- 45:54phenomenal player and Bellingham, I mean, Bellingham's
- 45:58really been cooking. So I think like if he.
- 46:02He can be the X. Factor his aggression and his
- 46:05pressure on the goal. So now in in.
- 46:08Soccer, they have what do they have the same thing as like the
- 46:13Super Bowl, like yeah, Super Bowl MVP, like you know the well
- 46:17for the the tournament. There was the Golden Boot.
- 46:20OK, so the golden. Boot, Do you see anyone in these
- 46:24four teams that are playing? Do you see anyone that player
- 46:29like? Can you make a prediction?
- 46:30Who do you think's going to win the Golden Boot?
- 46:33I believe it goes. To whoever has the most goals.
- 46:38So looking. At it Lionel Messi, he does have
- 46:43the best chance. He's got eight goals and here,
- 46:48but I mean, the Bellingham is scoring the what keeps scoring
- 46:50the way he's scoring him or Harry Kane, they're they both
- 46:54have 6, but like another two goals or a hat trick, something
- 46:58like that that they could easily jump up.
- 46:59And like I said, Messi's been a little, he hasn't really scored
- 47:02a whole lot the past few games he had, he did have one.
- 47:08He he didn't have any against Switzerland.
- 47:12He only had one against Egypt. So he was on.
- 47:15He got off to a fast start, but it's been, you know, they had a
- 47:19hot trick and then two goals, but he has sort of slowed back a
- 47:23bit. And so and it has seemed like
- 47:25they've been running the offense more towards some of the the
- 47:28younger players. Honestly, I'm like Bellingham to
- 47:34me really seems like he's. Enter the different.
- 47:38State like you, you kind of see like these guys like like these
- 47:42star players who who just like. Like as the playoffs?
- 47:46Progress, they just get better and better, you know like it's
- 47:49like if you guys have. Questions and you're not on
- 47:52TikTok and you're not on social media.
- 47:54If you're listening on phone app, hit us up on the total talk
- 47:58text line 720-619-0627. Phone lines are open.
- 48:03HG is discussing FIFA World Cup. I guess that's what you say,
- 48:10right? FIFA World Cup 2026.
- 48:13Let us hear you, especially if you have any questions.
- 48:17So so these. So this is the last one and then
- 48:23probably go on break if if you want to, but you know some of
- 48:27the semi final discussion like do you think England has what it
- 48:35takes to be Argentina? I absolutely do.
- 48:38I and honestly, I was going to give the nod to England, I
- 48:44think. I do think that they have like,
- 48:51like I said, I think Argentina is a little more well-rounded,
- 48:53but I think England right now has got the best player left in
- 48:58the tournament. Bellingham, like like I said,
- 49:02he's just entered that state that like stars like in the
- 49:06biggest games, like the moment just comes to him.
- 49:09So like, I think right now he's playing the best of any player
- 49:13left in the tournament and. You know, Argentina, they.
- 49:20Did just win it and I think like it's been a very long tournament
- 49:25for them and. I can't like.
- 49:30Maybe they're just getting lucky, but I just, I can't
- 49:32imagine that the all the calls are going to go their way and
- 49:37England's this is probably the this.
- 49:41They're so close. To bringing it back home.
- 49:43So I think that there's just a. It's a veteran.
- 49:48Squad, like a lot of these guys have been playing for the
- 49:50English national team for a while, so I think like to to
- 49:53them like they're ready for the moment and.
- 49:57They can get it done. They can get to the the the
- 50:00finals, but I do think they're so I would say England advances.
- 50:04Your third place match up is going to be a rematch of the
- 50:07finals from the 2022 guitar game, which is France and
- 50:12Argentina. And then give me I'll, I'll say
- 50:15give me France to get the revenge and take the third place
- 50:20and this and then Spain versus England, I'll say France in a 2
- 50:27to one victory. Wins and.
- 50:31Then give me Spain three to two over England in the finals,
- 50:39right? Yeah, but all right, we're.
- 50:41Going to go ahead and hit a another music break.
- 50:45When we come back, we'll get into some NBA Summer League,
- 50:49talk about what's going on and this.
- 50:52Next song that we're getting where we're.
- 50:53Playing He's another veteran whose name is David Broderie.
- 50:56It is brand new. It's fire in her eyes.
- 51:00So whatever you do, stay with us.

- 51:18NBA. Summer.
- 51:19League so. If you do sports.
- 51:23Book make sure you stay with us. station.
- 55:03Where our veterans voices are heard.
- 55:05MBR talk. Hey folks.
- 55:08Thanks for tuning in. You're giving veterans a voice
- 55:11today, powered by Work Simple, where we simplify your mission
- 55:15just on the. Web at MB radio dot.
- 55:19And we're back, ladies and gentlemen.
- 55:21Welcome. Back to the final time.
- 55:22Out you're on Military Broadcaster powered by Work
- 55:25Simple. Done a good show today just so.
- 55:29Since the man will be All Star of the FIFA World Cup, shifting
- 55:33gears a little bit to the NBA Summer League, a great time for,
- 55:39you know, rookie and young inexperienced players to go out,
- 55:44play some meaningful basketball, show off their skills and you
- 55:47know, we, we. Got a question right out of a
- 55:49TikTok this comes from? This comes from country.
- 55:55Girl, which rookie has impressed you so far for the most during
- 56:01the summer league? OK, well.
- 56:03I'll give you the obvious, AJ D'ambonso, but that's no
- 56:07surprise. He was the number one overall
- 56:09pick. I mean, he has an insane skill
- 56:11set. He's averaging looks like 25
- 56:15through the summer league like that.
- 56:19You know, that's the obvious answer.
- 56:21He's been fantastic and he is going to be a stud, I'll just
- 56:25tell you that. But a little sneakily, Malik
- 56:29Thomas dropped all the way to the second round.
- 56:32The Cavaliers snagged him. They definitely needed some
- 56:35guard help this guy. Looking like a day one.
- 56:39Started the backup Donovan Mitchell, which will be huge for
- 56:43Cleveland. He's been he's a coach Calipari
- 56:46guard from Arkansas. He's been absolutely fantastic.
- 56:50He's actually leading all players in the NBA Summer League
- 56:54averaging 28 points per game. He's shooting and like it's not
- 56:58like he's just chucking shots too.
- 57:00He's doing this on really good efficiency, like 50% from the
- 57:04field. He's shooting 46 from three.
- 57:08Yeah, the you're seeing like the the play making it.
- 57:12It's, it's good he's you know, he's able to get some rebounds
- 57:17defensively. He's averaging like 2.3 steals a
- 57:20game so far. So I would say Malik Thomas has
- 57:26been. The most impressive?
- 57:28Rookie, he's going to make a lot, a lot of teams look stupid.
- 57:34This has been incredible. Like, really impressive.
- 57:39I've also loved what I've seen from Caleb Wilson.
- 57:41Caleb Wilson. Looks in.
- 57:45Looks like he's going to be insane.
- 57:48Chicago's going to be a fun team, man.
- 57:50You have the the Josh Giddy. Point guard with.
- 57:55Bezelis and Caleb Wilson running your three and four position
- 58:01that there it's going to be a potential for LOB City 2 Point O
- 58:06in Chicago. Coming up this year.
- 58:13Some not rookie players that have looked pretty good.
- 58:18Trey Johnson. Averaging 26 per game over this
- 58:24the Summer league. Jenai.
- 58:27Broome second year player who never really got onto the floor
- 58:31last. Year.
- 58:32For the 76ers, really looks like he might get a chance.
- 58:36Especially like with Embiid's injury problems, I think he
- 58:41could really be a big asset for what's already a really good.
- 58:4870. Sixers team, you know, Carter
- 58:50Bryant we saw have some meaningful minutes in the
- 58:53postseason for San Antonio, but again, like he's looking like
- 58:56he's really just developed his game very well.
- 59:03Want to highlight some individual performances to the
- 59:07that that have jumped out to me. So back on the the 4th of July
- 59:11man, second round pick Darren Peterson.
- 59:15He popped off with. A 28 game point performance in
- 59:19the really close one O 3 to one O 2 match up between the Hawks.
- 59:25So I'm liking what I'm seeing from some of these guys.
- 59:30Ace Bailey, the other rookie or the second year player rather
- 59:33from them. Didn't he's?
- 59:38He's one of those guys that's got me a scratch in my head a
- 59:41little bit. I will.
- 59:45He's very like the skill set. I I see it's all there.
- 59:49It just hasn't really to me, he hasn't just really actualized it
- 59:53yet. So that's going to be very
- 59:54interesting. Is he?
- 59:57You know, because the Jazz spent the pretty the second round pick
- 59:59on him last year as well. That's going to be interesting
- 1:00:04to. See like if that really pays how
- 1:00:08that pays out for him. Another guy that might be Allen
- 1:00:13Iverson 2.9 Darius Acuff, he's. Going to have to work on this.
- 1:00:19Efficiency if he wants to be AI but man his his ball handling, a
- 1:00:23shot creation and creativity, his speed and and quickness off
- 1:00:27the dribble all there all very remissive AI but dropped 25 also
- 1:00:35on July 4th against. The Nets, but he.
- 1:00:38Did it on some rather inefficient shooting numbers.
- 1:00:44Like I said, I mean. Sometimes you just don't.
- 1:00:48Shoot the ball well, that's OK. You got to just.
- 1:00:54Can't be afraid to score. He has just.
- 1:00:57Again, it it just. Looks so elite.
- 1:01:01The the shot. Creation and the.
- 1:01:05The quickness off the. Dribble.
- 1:01:09It's it's a lot of fun to watch. The battle of the We have the
- 1:01:12battle of the number 2 and #3 picks Cam Boozer and Darren
- 1:01:18Peterson. Loving what I'm seeing from
- 1:01:22Boozer just as a rebounder and his his post scoring and 2nd
- 1:01:29year player. Cedric Cower, man.
- 1:01:32That's just kind of a. Fun little team brewing there.
- 1:01:35John Moran traded away. I'll be interested.
- 1:01:41It's. Interesting.
- 1:01:42You know what they're? What this line up is?
- 1:01:46Going to look like taking a look at their their roster here,
- 1:01:51their depth sharp. It's the guard position, the
- 1:01:55point guard position that makes me that that I think could be
- 1:02:01where their weakness is. You go Scottie Pippen or do you
- 1:02:05go tide your own? But you don't look at the end.
- 1:02:09I don't think they have a ton of depth at center.
- 1:02:10I like Zack EDI mean super tall, good rebounder, add some rim
- 1:02:14protection, you know, solid post work.
- 1:02:18He's not like a elite shot creator, but you know, you give
- 1:02:22him a like a one-on-one. He's got good touch around the
- 1:02:24basket, but. And, you know, pair that up
- 1:02:28with. Cam Booster at your four and
- 1:02:30Jeremy Grant, who they acquired in the John Morant trade.
- 1:02:35That's a. Solid.
- 1:02:37That's a very solid front court. Cedric Coward, I think is going
- 1:02:41to just be phenomenal for them. I don't know if I necessarily
- 1:02:48want him taking on all the play making duties.
- 1:02:52So that that'll be I think where they just hold held back.
- 1:02:55You'll see, like will it be Jerome?
- 1:02:57Will it be Scottie Pippen Junior?
- 1:03:02I would. It's tough.
- 1:03:05I would maybe learn. More towards Jerome.
- 1:03:09But keep their minutes. I think Scotty is a better score
- 1:03:15but Jerome Odds gives you a little bit more with their play
- 1:03:18making so that's just a big thing.
- 1:03:20Or like the guard play for them will be a question mark but I'm
- 1:03:24loving. I'm loving what the.
- 1:03:29The potential Memphis Grizzly line up.
- 1:03:33Could look like yeah. Let me know like who's your
- 1:03:37who's your favorite team? I'd love to take a look at your
- 1:03:39guys's roster and tell you what I think the best potential
- 1:03:43lineups are. I think Cedric Coward, now he's
- 1:03:46going to be in for a big year though in year 2.
- 1:03:51So he that's a good guy to keep an eye on.
- 1:03:57Through through all of this, here we go.
- 1:04:05Also bringing us to a battle between the one and two picks,
- 1:04:09so Darren Peterson versus AJ Debonza.
- 1:04:15Man, Trey. Like I was mentioning, Trey
- 1:04:17Johnson, the Wizard's got some some dogs here.
- 1:04:21Debonza with 27 in this one, Johnson with 26.
- 1:04:26You know, Peterson, he showed out though.
- 1:04:28He scored 24 and this one fun little batch up there between
- 1:04:34the ones and twos. But we were just looking at the
- 1:04:38Grizzlies line up. We're going to go to we're going
- 1:04:42to go look at that Wizards potential line up or some some
- 1:04:47lives. I could theorize.
- 1:04:48We'll see how they put this all together.
- 1:04:50But you, I mean they have to be just as ecstatic watching.
- 1:04:55What they've got. Here in the.
- 1:04:59In the Summer League. So I mean, right now Trey Young,
- 1:05:05should he be healthy, you would imagine is your.
- 1:05:10Is your your? Starting point guard, I
- 1:05:12honestly, I'm Bob Carrington coming off the bench, but I
- 1:05:18think he could also, you know, if Young has some injury
- 1:05:20problems, problems could fill in very well for them.
- 1:05:25And then again, it's like you've got Keyshawn.
- 1:05:28George will likely be your starting point guard.
- 1:05:32But I mean you like. I love the explosiveness and
- 1:05:35scoring ability of Trey Johnson off the bench.
- 1:05:38Huge. I think that is an absolutely
- 1:05:40huge upside for them. This is this is what that.
- 1:05:46Is exciting the big the big thing for Washington's going to
- 1:05:49be the health 'cause you have always damaged Anthony Davis.
- 1:05:53Trey Young's had trouble staying on the court the past couple
- 1:05:55years, but. If a startling 5 with Trey
- 1:05:58Young. Keyshawn George, AJ Dimanza,
- 1:06:01Anthony Davis and Alex Starr if they can all stay on the court
- 1:06:06this year or play like 50. 5:00 to. 65 games together, you're
- 1:06:12looking at the Wizards team that I think could easily win 50 to
- 1:06:1754 wins. They could be like I think.
- 1:06:25Like I said, if they can hit. That 55 to 65 game window you're
- 1:06:29looking at like a floor of 45 wins a ceiling of 54.
- 1:06:36I could see for this Washington. Team, they've got depth, too.
- 1:06:41I mean, I don't hate DeAndre Ayton as a backup to Alex Saar.
- 1:06:46Chris Middleton got a great mid range score, a little underside
- 1:06:50to maybe be Anthony Davis's backup.
- 1:06:53And then you also got like guys like Justin Champeni, Will
- 1:06:57Riley. You could maybe flex Felix
- 1:07:00Okapar into their then. Like the Botsa?
- 1:07:05I. When he comes off.
- 1:07:08He's right now my rookie of the year favorite going into the
- 1:07:11season. I know well, shocking the number
- 1:07:13one overall picks, your rookie, the contender, but.
- 1:07:18He didn't. He's shown.
- 1:07:19Durability, I think he'll be on the court a lot and get be
- 1:07:24carrying the load a lot for for Washington.
- 1:07:29So very fun roster to look at. Look out there.
- 1:07:38All right, I'm going to go get a little homery here and just talk
- 1:07:42about my hometown, Denver Nuggets.
- 1:07:46Feeling a lot of. Excitement and optimism about
- 1:07:50one of our newest draft picks by the name of Trevor Brazil.
- 1:07:56He popped off last night. He is an athletic wing, good
- 1:08:02defender, great, you know, lob threat.
- 1:08:06He was a lob threat there kind of Arkansas and protect the rim
- 1:08:09and he's got a nice little 3 ball.
- 1:08:12He was hitting some. He shot 6 of 12.
- 1:08:15Now HG since we're. Talking about the Denver
- 1:08:18Nuggets, what is on your radar when it comes to LeBron James?
- 1:08:25Because that has been a big topic this week.
- 1:08:29He's searching for a team. The Nuggets are pretty much
- 1:08:33formatted for a championship now.
- 1:08:35They just, they just need that extra brick.
- 1:08:38What what? What's your radar looking like
- 1:08:40for him? I would be.
- 1:08:44I would like it. For because he's at first.
- 1:08:47Of all, like I know he's he's pretty old, but like he's still
- 1:08:51averaged. Well, I'd have to look.
- 1:08:55It up, I don't know off the top of my head, but it was still
- 1:08:57like somewhere in the mid, like you know, like 22 to 24 range at
- 1:09:01his age. That's still I mean that's good
- 1:09:04numbers, especially because again, he would be like our
- 1:09:07number 3 or 4 offensive option. He's a great basketball mind
- 1:09:12still. A really good.
- 1:09:14He's still a good defender. Can move his feet so.
- 1:09:19It would. Yeah, it would certainly make us
- 1:09:22better. I was just going.
- 1:09:24To help you money wise. So right now it's saying that
- 1:09:29money wise. Fitting Lebron's salary under
- 1:09:32the salary cap could require significant roster moves or a
- 1:09:36sign and trade scenario. Competition wise, Denver isn't
- 1:09:41alone, though. The Cavalier 76ers, Heat and
- 1:09:44Warriors and Timberwolves and others are in in the works.
- 1:09:49And there is a there's a question with LeBron James and
- 1:09:55Nikolai Jolkov. I can't.
- 1:09:57I can't pronounce that, Yeah. Be the most.
- 1:10:00Unstoppable duo in NBA? Or would Denver be better off
- 1:10:04keeping its current core? Give us your thoughts.
- 1:10:09It all depends on what Lebron's willing to sign for.
- 1:10:13Like I think for us realistically he would need to
- 1:10:16take a pay cut somewhere around the vet minimum.
- 1:10:21Because I. Mean otherwise I could make
- 1:10:23things even more difficult for us in the salary department.
- 1:10:26But if you were able to, if you were willing to do that, you
- 1:10:29know, in this final year, I would because Aaron Gordon's
- 1:10:32been the past couple years just had a problem staying healthy.
- 1:10:36I would move Aaron Gordon to the bench and I would have LeBron
- 1:10:40play the four and. Then you would.
- 1:10:43Have a starting line up of Jamal Murray, Christian Brown, Cam
- 1:10:47Johnson, LeBron James and Nicole Yokich.
- 1:10:50Yeah, because in fact, if you're listening right now, fact or cap
- 1:10:57fact, LeBron to Denver would make the Nuggets to the
- 1:11:01championship favorite or cap LeBron is better off signing
- 1:11:06somewhere else. Tell us what you think.
- 1:11:08Send us a message. Ask HG.
- 1:11:13There you go. Yeah.
- 1:11:16I would say even Wolbron would make US1 of the title favorites
- 1:11:22right now going into the season. The 76ers.
- 1:11:27Really catch my eye and I guess. I just have to go with.
- 1:11:33The Spurs, because they've they've been keeping the team,
- 1:11:36they got Wendy re signed. He took a bit of a pay cut to
- 1:11:39give him some roster flexibility, so.
- 1:11:44Those are probably be my. Top 2.
- 1:11:46But LeBron would definitely put us in that conversation.
- 1:11:50The NBA seasons are so fluid. There's always so much in
- 1:11:53motion. That it's hard to give a.
- 1:11:57Definitive Who would be the Super Bowl favorite?
- 1:11:59But not Super Bowl, who would be the Finals favorite?
- 1:12:07But that would certainly put us in the conversation.
- 1:12:11OK, I was talking about that rookie Malik Thomas and he had
- 1:12:17the game on Monday night. I think really just showcased
- 1:12:21why he is going to. Make a lot of teams.
- 1:12:24Look stupid he dropped 35 and a 90 to 73 victory at their summer
- 1:12:29league team had I mean he has been I mean like the the Cavs
- 1:12:33summer league team. Their plan is to get him the
- 1:12:35ball and let him work couple of steals as well.
- 1:12:41He blocked a shot. 35 Three. And three on 14 to 23 shooting
- 1:12:49knocked down 5 threes. He was five of nine from deep.
- 1:12:56I mean. I know it's summer league, but
- 1:13:00this guy's got, he's the complete package.
- 1:13:02You can really. Fine tune.
- 1:13:07All that stuff for like the pro games and, and like, it's all
- 1:13:11there, you know, like you just the right coaching can bring it
- 1:13:15out of him. JB Bickers.
- 1:13:18That's a really good coach. The Cavaliers have done a pretty
- 1:13:20good job of developing guards in recent years.
- 1:13:27He's just he he's going to be a problem.
- 1:13:31I think he's going to he might be the next great like second
- 1:13:34round steal that we see. And then I wanted to just
- 1:13:43highlight one final performance, which was Caleb Wilson also on
- 1:13:48Monday night scored 19 points. He had eight rebounds.
- 1:13:53But the out of the defensive side of the ball, this guy could
- 1:13:58be an an elite rim protector with five blocked shots.
- 1:14:04Like his? Athleticism and fearlessness to
- 1:14:07go up and just get the ball. I also posted 2 steals in this
- 1:14:11game. Such a complete player.
- 1:14:16Chicago Jimmy covers. I don't know if you're
- 1:14:18listening, but I am very excited to watch Bulls basketball this
- 1:14:23year. I cannot wait.
- 1:14:26It's going to be pretty good. It's going to be, it's going to
- 1:14:32be really good, but. All right, we're going.
- 1:14:35To go ahead and hit our next music break, that's going to do
- 1:14:42it for the NBA Summer League. When we come back, I will jump
- 1:14:46in and we'll talk a little while what's going on in the WNBA had
- 1:14:51the. Commissioners Cup.
- 1:14:53I didn't get a chance to cover on the last show.
- 1:14:56We'll talk about that and then we still got the 82 and O
- 1:14:59challenge coming up today. So make sure you don't go
- 1:15:03anywhere. You're watching the station
- 1:15:07that's giving our veterans a voice MBR powered by work Simple
- 1:15:11stay with us Well, if I. Die tomorrow
- 1:21:02The station. Where our veterans voices are
- 1:21:05heard. MBR talk.
- 1:21:08Hey folks. Thanks for tuning in.
- 1:21:10You're giving veterans a voice today.
- 1:21:12Powered by Work Simple where we simplify your mission.
- 1:21:15This on the web at MB. Radio dot.
- 1:21:19Welcome back ladies, and. Gentlemen, to the final time out
- 1:21:24in the military broadcast radio, I am your host.
- 1:21:28HG. Had a good.
- 1:21:30Show today. Love all the questions, please
- 1:21:33keep them coming. I love answering them.
- 1:21:35I love talking to you, the viewers.
- 1:21:38In the meantime, we're going to jump in and.
- 1:21:42Discuss a little. WNBA, what's been going on in
- 1:21:45the season there Didn't get a chance last show to talk about
- 1:21:48the Commissioners Cup, which was unfortunate because it was a
- 1:21:52fantastic game, Saw the New York Liberty defeat the Las Vegas
- 1:21:59Aces 93 to 85. Aces we're going into.
- 1:22:06This without their their top lady Asia Wilson was dealing
- 1:22:10with some injury, but we saw Jackie Young step.
- 1:22:14Up to the. Plate.
- 1:22:16And show out in a fantastic performance.
- 1:22:18She was 31 points, 7 assists. Unfortunately, she didn't get a
- 1:22:23whole lot of help from the rest of her team.
- 1:22:25The rest of the start of this room.
- 1:22:26You got a, you got a doughnut from Stephanie Talbot, which,
- 1:22:30you know, you never like to see that.
- 1:22:33Also missing some of. The size out there I was getting
- 1:22:36ready to ask. You like we got killed on the
- 1:22:38the. Boards with no Asia out there,
- 1:22:40one thing I was going to ask. You like one of the hot topics
- 1:22:43right now that's going on the news story is do you feel I, I,
- 1:22:48I'll tell you how I feel, But has the WNBA reached a new level
- 1:22:53of popularity over the last two seasons?
- 1:22:55And my opinion on that, It would be yes.
- 1:22:58And I, I would say that we they should owe all that to Caitlin
- 1:23:04Clark. I mean, like, literally, she's
- 1:23:07kind of like the Michael Jordan of women's basketball right now.
- 1:23:13Yeah, she certainly did help. The the popularity of it, it had
- 1:23:16been growing steadily like and it had been going up.
- 1:23:21I think she really helped cause the the surge and boom, 'cause
- 1:23:25it has been probably these are probably some of the most viewed
- 1:23:30seasons past two years. We're really seeing Arenas gets.
- 1:23:36Sold, you know. Closest sold out and but you
- 1:23:39don't want views of. Face.
- 1:23:42Well, I, I mean like when you say face, I also like think like
- 1:23:49you need to be the best player in the league and she's good.
- 1:23:52She's really good. She definitely has the potential
- 1:23:54to be the best player, but she is not not the best player in
- 1:23:58the league and she's. She's a.
- 1:24:02She's an. Exceptional shoe there and she's
- 1:24:04got some elite play making abilities, but she is kind of a
- 1:24:09liability on defense. She looks lost out there
- 1:24:12sometimes. Could that be?
- 1:24:14The coach. Because like, I, I haven't heard
- 1:24:17anything about women's NBA basketball until Caitlin Clark
- 1:24:23came into the picture. So now when I was thinking of
- 1:24:25women's basketball, I, I think of Caitlin Clark, you know?
- 1:24:31Well, I mean, yeah, that's fair. But it's been, it's been around
- 1:24:36for a while and they're, well, I know it's been around.
- 1:24:38I'm just, I'm just saying that that's the only reason why I was
- 1:24:41thinking of that, yeah. I mean, she's.
- 1:24:45She's good, she's got a lot of potential to be the face of the
- 1:24:49league, but right now I think like you've.
- 1:24:52I mean, she'll, she'll have some.
- 1:24:53Competition from like a player like Paige Becker's who's a year
- 1:24:57behind here, but you still have like like right now to me, Asia
- 1:25:00Wilson should be the face of the league.
- 1:25:01She's getting major. She's I mean she is she's got
- 1:25:04like these major brand deals. She's could be well on her way
- 1:25:08to another MVP of this to be her fifth her team is. 2nd place
- 1:25:16right? Now in the league, so they're
- 1:25:18also in title contention. Yeah, it's and like don't.
- 1:25:27Get me wrong like I do. Like Clark is a great player.
- 1:25:30Like I said, she's such a creative passer and she's got
- 1:25:34great play making ability and like when she when she's on from
- 1:25:41deep like she is just an elite shooter, but.
- 1:25:46I don't know. I wouldn't.
- 1:25:47Even say she's necessarily the best player on her team.
- 1:25:49Aliyah Boston needs her, her respect and her flowers.
- 1:25:53I mean, Clark missed over half the year last year with a
- 1:25:58nagging groin injury and Aliyah Boston took that team or LED
- 1:26:01that team to the semi finals. But dude, I.
- 1:26:10Don't want to flashback to the the cup because.
- 1:26:14I mentioned. Jackie Young didn't get a ton of
- 1:26:16help you we saw a couple of other players other really been
- 1:26:20started in the league. This was good to if you're a
- 1:26:23Liberty fan, that was just one to watch with Sabrina, Ianescu
- 1:26:26and Brianna Stewart kind of take control of the game.
- 1:26:29The guard Ford combo there was on it Sabrina knocking down 5
- 1:26:35threes studio with a 25 and 11 double double.
- 1:26:39She also recorded two blocks and two steals in that one.
- 1:26:45And it's just been. Something that the Liberty, who
- 1:26:48were champions just two years ago, have really been struggling
- 1:26:53to find this year. They just haven't been able to.
- 1:27:00Like. Get that, that success.
- 1:27:03I mean, it's just been a very middle of the pack year.
- 1:27:06Yeah, they won the Commissioners Cup, but they're 13 and 11 some
- 1:27:11nights. They.
- 1:27:12Look, really they? Just don't look really In Sync
- 1:27:17and they have these wild swings of ineffective or inefficient.
- 1:27:22Shooting, but you only get some of the.
- 1:27:29Top teams the I mentioned the Aces, they're they're one of the
- 1:27:35teams I think will absolutely be in contention for the
- 1:27:40championship, especially with like if you have Asia out there,
- 1:27:46she's just the most dominant player in the post.
- 1:27:51I mean, she's like her. Offseason.
- 1:27:54Her training like she trains with her her husband Nehal, the
- 1:27:58bio. So she's she's like training and
- 1:28:01you know, practicing her scoring against and defending against an
- 1:28:06all defensive, all NBA defensive caliber player.
- 1:28:10And she just, yeah, I mean. The work she puts in.
- 1:28:14She's become a great shooter as well.
- 1:28:19It'll be tough for, I really think it'll be tough for you to
- 1:28:22give the MVP anybody else but her.
- 1:28:24She's averaging almost 26 a game with also averaging 10 rebounds
- 1:28:30and three assists per game, two blocks per game and two steals.
- 1:28:35Just like the most complete player in the league.
- 1:28:40But. What really makes the Aces so
- 1:28:42good is that you have this elite, this really dominant
- 1:28:46interior post player and then you've got, I mean, not one, but
- 1:28:50two really great point guards. They're both elite playmakers.
- 1:28:58They facilitate super well. And then they also can score at
- 1:29:03a pretty decent clip. I mean, Jackie Young's averaging
- 1:29:0516 the game, but then you've got Chelsea Gray averaging 12 and
- 1:29:10then they're, you know, each averaging around 7 assists per
- 1:29:13game. So it's just like they're both
- 1:29:15out there on the court just creating.
- 1:29:20They've got some good 3. Point shooting as well.
- 1:29:22So it's it's tough. I mean like you, it's like a
- 1:29:25pick your poisons. You want to send the double
- 1:29:28inside and risk a kick out to some highly efficient shooters
- 1:29:34or do you want to let you know the most dominant interior
- 1:29:37player in the league get a one-on-one match up?
- 1:29:40So I'll pick pick your poison type of match and then Jewel
- 1:29:45Lloyd and Shinity Carter coming off the bench.
- 1:29:48So it's just like you still, you don't really lose anything in
- 1:29:52terms of guard play coming off the bench as well.
- 1:29:55But I do say I do think behind Asia and in the front court,
- 1:29:58they're a little thin there. Otherwise, they just aren't
- 1:30:02getting. A ton of.
- 1:30:06Without the. Production from.
- 1:30:07Some of the backup bigs aside from Melissa Smith's out there
- 1:30:10on the on the. Floor with.
- 1:30:12Asia, but yeah, they're a little, that's probably their
- 1:30:15big Achilles heels there. Their lack of size and depth
- 1:30:22behind Asia team on what that I think right now though if I was
- 1:30:28a betting person would be the favorite.
- 1:30:31Is the Minnesota. Lynx been on a they're on a
- 1:30:35three-game win streak right now. I just took down the liberty,
- 1:30:39the Mercury and the sun in quick succession and for a lot of the
- 1:30:45season they haven't had again, another one of the top players
- 1:30:51in the the whole league, which is the feast of Collier.
- 1:30:53She's just been dealing with a nagging injury all year and a a
- 1:30:59rookie no less. Olivia Miles has stepped up and
- 1:31:02LED the team in scoring, but also, I mean like when they
- 1:31:06drafted there, I thought like, alright, well, she's going to
- 1:31:08really add a level of play making that they need.
- 1:31:13Their offense can get really stagnant in the half court and
- 1:31:17Olivia's very good at running a a good decision maker and good
- 1:31:20at running a half court offense. But the like, the way she's just
- 1:31:24been fearless and has come out and been the leading scorer on
- 1:31:28this team and. They've got some good.
- 1:31:31Scores. I mean Kayla McBride's a knock
- 1:31:33down shooter with a good great mid range package.
- 1:31:39Natasha Howard, one of the the better power forwards in this
- 1:31:44league. She you know.
- 1:31:48Creative. Post.
- 1:31:49Footwork and great touch around the rim.
- 1:31:52So I mean, and even Courtney Williams, who's got one of the
- 1:31:56best mid range jump shots in the whole league.
- 1:32:00So it's not like she's, you know.
- 1:32:01There it's a a. Squad of.
- 1:32:04Non scores or people don't have great scoring ability.
- 1:32:08So that, I mean, I think that's just been part of the reason
- 1:32:10they've been so dominant is that like, yeah, even missing like
- 1:32:12one of your top, your top. Players and.
- 1:32:15Somebody who could give Asia a run for her money.
- 1:32:19Olivia sliding in there, and I mean her, her decision making
- 1:32:27and processing for a rookie is. It's really.
- 1:32:32It's really. Incredible because averaging 6
- 1:32:36assists a game while scoring nearly 20 points and heard while
- 1:32:42only averaging around 3 turnovers a game.
- 1:32:44I mean like, that's elite. That's really good processing
- 1:32:48and distribution while also protecting the basketball.
- 1:32:53You just don't see. That out of rookie players too
- 1:32:56often really in any sport. So it's pretty special what
- 1:33:00she's doing here. I'm liking do the.
- 1:33:05Golden State Valkyries second year team and in 3rd place, tied
- 1:33:11with the Aces. In record that. 17 and 17,
- 1:33:17they're second in the West overall.
- 1:33:23Excuse me? Really, it's like a team that
- 1:33:28just plays good defense. They've got a really good.
- 1:33:34Defensive like minded coach they don't.
- 1:33:38Give up a. Lot of points I mean it's not a
- 1:33:40team that's going to blow you away scoring, but they just do a
- 1:33:48such a good job of defending you know their help they play great
- 1:33:54help defense they don't I mean they're allowing the fewest
- 1:34:00points per game in the league they've.
- 1:34:04Really take. Away the three-point line.
- 1:34:09They force teams. To try the score inside, they've
- 1:34:13got the second. I mean, they're the second
- 1:34:17lowest opponent field goal percentage.
- 1:34:21In the league here. So I mean it like it's just
- 1:34:24smothering. I mean, you can tell like it's
- 1:34:27really in grilled into them like, you know, like.
- 1:34:30No. Easy.
- 1:34:31No easy baskets. Like that's how they're, that's
- 1:34:34how they play the way it is. Like we're going to beat you
- 1:34:37with the defense first. Because they're not like a team.
- 1:34:41That's going to blow you away scoring.
- 1:34:45I mean, they do, they do score decently.
- 1:34:46They're they're 8082 game points per game, but.
- 1:34:52It's it's just. Smothering defense, Gabby
- 1:34:57Williams leading that team there.
- 1:35:02But yeah, it's. A lot of like, you know.
- 1:35:06The supplemental draft, so it was a lot of players that had
- 1:35:09hadn't really been able to carve out roles on their own team that
- 1:35:13got got a chance here like Veronica Burton, Janelle
- 1:35:19Solerin, they're really getting like a major role and.
- 1:35:25Have the. I've been contributing to a very
- 1:35:30successful season. Second year player Caitlin Chen
- 1:35:34has been. Really good.
- 1:35:35Been really good for them off the bench too so still a fun
- 1:35:39team to watch they. They've got the recipe.
- 1:35:43The win in the post season. Because that's the back I.
- 1:35:49Think the backbone of the identity of this team is the
- 1:35:52tough defense and trying to force turnovers, forcing bad
- 1:35:56shots, holding the opponent, you know, dragging them into the
- 1:36:00mud. When you can play like that in
- 1:36:06the the postseason, that's a good recipe to win.
- 1:36:12And you just. Really need the the only thing
- 1:36:15that might hold them back is just a player that can be really
- 1:36:24efficient or score in the clutch.
- 1:36:27I do think Gabby, she's got that ability, or even even Janelle
- 1:36:35Sallion. Both they both shoot.
- 1:36:38Around 41% from the field, but. Sallion's also.
- 1:36:43Nearly a 40 or a 40% three-point shooter.
- 1:36:46So. They do really good.
- 1:36:51At creating easy shots for themselves with their defense.
- 1:36:57One other team. That I like to highlight here at
- 1:37:00the the midpoint. Of the season.
- 1:37:04Is actually the The Atlanta Dream?
- 1:37:08They made the the. Move to.
- 1:37:12Bring in. Angel Reese into their front
- 1:37:15court and I think she's finally found a good rule for her, which
- 1:37:18is not a primary, not taking a lot of shots per game and just
- 1:37:24focusing on rebounding and. Defending and despite.
- 1:37:29That I mean, she's still averaging 15A game.
- 1:37:35Her shooting's honestly. Gone up, she's been a little
- 1:37:37more efficient this season. Don't look at the three-point
- 1:37:41shooting that that hasn't been good, but it's really just
- 1:37:44enabled. I mean, they have.
- 1:37:46Such an elite. Elite depth that guard and they
- 1:37:50just they finally have some solid depth in their front
- 1:37:54court. You know Medina.
- 1:37:57OCOT there at center, but like Reese, Nas, Hillman.
- 1:38:04Also just. There in the the front court,
- 1:38:07Ryan Howard can cut. She's just kind of a combo
- 1:38:09between a shooting guard and the small 4.
- 1:38:11She can play the three and she has.
- 1:38:13And then you've got Jordan, Canada and Alicia Gray.
- 1:38:19Are just tearing. It up there's a lot of great
- 1:38:22Jordan Canada. I love her facilitating.
- 1:38:27She does a great job of reading, running that offense and then
- 1:38:29Howard and. Gray.
- 1:38:34Both averaging around 18 points per game this year.
- 1:38:40That was the big thing. For for Atlanta last year, I was
- 1:38:43like the guard depth because I mean like you will even look
- 1:38:46behind that with IT and pow pow and Isabel Borat has coming off
- 1:38:53the bench for them. They just really relaxing some
- 1:38:58size in the front court and that was one of the things holding
- 1:39:02them back was just their overall inability to really to.
- 1:39:07Rebound they can get. Killed on the boards, but now
- 1:39:10they're at least a little more competitive in there and it can
- 1:39:13They're getting more second chance points.
- 1:39:15They've got so many elite scores.
- 1:39:19There so that they're they're a. Dark.
- 1:39:22Horse for me. They're currently 5th.
- 1:39:28In the Earth. 6. Currently 6th.
- 1:39:32In the standings rather behind the the.
- 1:39:35Fever and the. Wings who are 4th and 5th.
- 1:39:39So. A team that could really
- 1:39:41surprise like. Could pull off a big upset.
- 1:39:47Could surprise somebody, one of those teams to watch them and W
- 1:39:58as I mentioned. Asia probably.
- 1:40:02She's just running away in my opinion with the the MVP race.
- 1:40:11Her numbers are just so unreal averaging. 26. 10 and 3.
- 1:40:20On the shooting numbers. Too like she's. 50% from the.
- 1:40:25Field shooting 40% from 3. It'll be tough to catch her.
- 1:40:31But maybe only Caitlin Clark's teammates.
- 1:40:35Kelsey Mitchell, she's been really lighting it up.
- 1:40:39Scoring. This year averaging around 22
- 1:40:44points per game. She just doesn't do.
- 1:40:48Too much like she's a she's a pure scorer.
- 1:40:51She doesn't do too much else overall, which might hold her
- 1:40:56back. Olivia Miles, I mean, the way if
- 1:41:01she keeps playing away, she's playing, she is going to
- 1:41:04absolutely run away with Rookie of the Year defensive.
- 1:41:16Player of the. Year that might go to Asia as
- 1:41:19well. Kia Stokes, she's been pretty
- 1:41:24good for the defensively. Carmilla Cardoza, I wouldn't be
- 1:41:29surprised she's been her room protection's been really good
- 1:41:32this year. Couple of people to look out for
- 1:41:37in terms of DPOY, but another exciting season we're about at
- 1:41:42the halfway point for I'll keep giving you updates as we move
- 1:41:47along and go through the season, but it's that time everyone,
- 1:41:51it's everyone's favorite segment.
- 1:41:53This is what we're going to do for the rest of the show.
- 1:41:54Team building next you saw. And I'm putting together a.
- 1:42:12Special team. It's the 82 and O challenge.
- 1:42:16We're still working to get this done here.
- 1:42:20And I will share the. Screen with you.
- 1:42:22We beat it on classic mode, but we need to do the Hoop IQ mode.
- 1:42:27We've come close couple of times, but it's been we're.
- 1:42:32So you're at the. Mercy of these spins here, but
- 1:42:35we're going to go ahead. We're just going to jump into
- 1:42:38it. Get our first spin off here.
- 1:42:44Solid 1 here. With.
- 1:42:48OK. C.
- 1:42:50In the 80s, I'm tempted to run Dale Ellis here because we got
- 1:42:55some flexibility with him. Maybe Eddie?
- 1:43:01Johnson. But.
- 1:43:05Dale's, Tom. 'S not a bad option here, but
- 1:43:08Dale is like giving us like a pretty cool 25 per game.
- 1:43:15We'll go ahead and throw him in the shooting guard slot for now.
- 1:43:22Miami in the 20. 20s not the best I'm going to re spend the
- 1:43:26era here. Hopefully we can get LeBron and
- 1:43:29we did OK, Perfect. That's I'm going to search him
- 1:43:34up actually. There we go.
- 1:43:36We will. Throw him.
- 1:43:38We'll just throw him Small Forge for now.
- 1:43:42Awesome that we can just move him around any spy if we need to
- 1:43:45open it up. Really get Sacramento here in
- 1:43:50the twenty 20s I don't. Want to waste the?
- 1:43:56Team re spin so I feel like Chris Webber he's.
- 1:44:00Given us. He'll he'll give us solid
- 1:44:03numbers at the power Ford slot. So we're going to slide Chris
- 1:44:05Webber in there. We're going.
- 1:44:08To. Chicago of the 20 tens, that's a
- 1:44:12rough one. We're going to use our team re
- 1:44:14spin here. Oh, Detroit.
- 1:44:17'S not much better. Maybe we go Ben.
- 1:44:23Watson. Chauncey.
- 1:44:28Feel free to play along with me, drop in the and, you know, let
- 1:44:30me. Let me know in the comments.
- 1:44:33Who you think I should take this?
- 1:44:35Is this definitely a tough one? Put Chauncey other guard.
- 1:44:41I just don't know if that's. The I don't know if it's going
- 1:44:43to be him or Ben. Ben was Ben really scoring Like
- 1:44:49that's also the question. You're going to really need
- 1:44:51those points per game really helping this.
- 1:45:00I'm going to go with Chauncey Bill UPS at the point guard.
- 1:45:04And Savor Center. For a final spin, man, we get
- 1:45:08Cleveland in the 70s. I think this is Bob Rule Hammer
- 1:45:15Nate Thurman at the tough one. I'm going to go with Thurman
- 1:45:23here. Hopefully that's the right
- 1:45:25choice. Oh boy, Nate, that.
- 1:45:31Was the wrong wrong heir of Nate Thurman?
- 1:45:34Yeah. Overall, I think we.
- 1:45:35Made the right choices until Nate.
- 1:45:37We should have gone Bob Rule there.
- 1:45:38That's on me. We run it back.
- 1:45:42Hopefully the spins are a little bit better.
- 1:45:43Those are some brutal ones. Oh, man, come on.
- 1:45:49It's really only two decades worth getting for Chicago, so
- 1:45:52we're going to spend again and try to get those.
- 1:45:55We got the 20. 10s. All right, we are.
- 1:45:59Going to go Derrick Rose here. Afraid that's the.
- 1:46:06That's the only play Dallas in the 22 thousands.
- 1:46:12This is Dirk. Novitsky all.
- 1:46:15Day Where's? Where's there you?
- 1:46:18Go, Dirk. Will throw another 4.
- 1:46:22Not a bad start though. We're.
- 1:46:23All we're good here, man. Atlanta I.
- 1:46:29Think we got to go I. Think I'm going to go Joe
- 1:46:32Johnson here. Joe is, he was.
- 1:46:35He was shooting the rock. There he was.
- 1:46:38He was hoping. If you remember.
- 1:46:41Oh, all right, well, nice, we got the Bulls again.
- 1:46:44We will definitely just go. I'm just going to search it up.
- 1:46:47Michael Jordan. We can throw them in there at
- 1:46:49small 4. That's the 32 points per game
- 1:46:53decade Michael Jordan. Not all right, Clippers.
- 1:46:57Are just useless. We're going to re spend that
- 1:46:59there for Brother Center. Play we can play Chris.
- 1:47:05Bosh as our center. Let's see how this turns out.
- 1:47:09It's all right. We just didn't.
- 1:47:11That's a good team. I think 61 and 20 ones.
- 1:47:19That one's a little brutal. I think we that we're that's a
- 1:47:22better than 61 and 21. That's at least closer to a 70
- 1:47:26win team. All right, we keep it going.
- 1:47:30Attempt #3 Golly, Phoenix in the 60s.
- 1:47:41I mean. Jill.
- 1:47:43Goodrich. I know he was scoring like that.
- 1:47:47I'm going to do a little bit of a risky strap though.
- 1:47:49I'm re spinning the team to hope to get Golden State or.
- 1:47:54Well, I didn't get Golden State. But we did get Philly, which
- 1:47:58gives me a. Will.
- 1:48:01Getting wilt in these is really fit, really good.
- 1:48:03So we'll we'll throw wilt on our center there.
- 1:48:05That worked out all right. Land on the. 20. 10s.
- 1:48:12Again, just. To me it's.
- 1:48:17Maybe we tried Jerry Stackhouse and I can't quite.
- 1:48:22I don't know what exactly. What he was averaging.
- 1:48:26Let's see, do they have Trey? Young on here.
- 1:48:29Here we go. Young, Trey Young.
- 1:48:32Where his numbers there, We're going to give it a shot.
- 1:48:38He was. He was.
- 1:48:39Hooping we'll give Trey Young there.
- 1:48:44I guard the shot all. Right, that's perfect.
- 1:48:46We can get. LeBron the thing.
- 1:48:49Again, Oh, wait, why am I? I was that that was a missed
- 1:48:56click. Boy, can I type today.
- 1:49:00We'll go ahead and throw LeBron at the three for now, a shooting
- 1:49:04guard and a power Ford. OK, we're going to take Luca
- 1:49:09here over Dirk. Luca just gives.
- 1:49:16US overall. More production at another
- 1:49:19statistical category as well as a lot of scoring.
- 1:49:22Final spin, Sacramento and the 60s on this is brutal.
- 1:49:29We can't can't move Trey Young anywhere, can I?
- 1:49:33I mean, let's see, I can put LeBron there.
- 1:49:38Luca there kind of move trait. He's only a shooting guard.
- 1:49:42Dang, this is this is tough, man.
- 1:49:50I don't even know. I guess that's.
- 1:49:55Got to go, Flynn, I think is our next bet, Next bet, next best
- 1:50:00option. Dang, that sucks man.
- 1:50:03Oh. No, I wasn't Flynn all.
- 1:50:06Right. I apologize.
- 1:50:07For not really knowing who else to go when the the Kings in the
- 1:50:1160s. That's, I mean not a bad.
- 1:50:15Team but yeah, that last spin sort of did this in there and.
- 1:50:21It sucks of. Course, we already had the point
- 1:50:24guard spot filled, surely got on Joe Johnson that that's what
- 1:50:27burned me there, guys. Joe Johnson, all right.
- 1:50:31We're going to get Boston in the 60s.
- 1:50:37Bill Russell wasn't. Scoring like crazy, he.
- 1:50:41Was averaging like 20. Something rebounds a game.
- 1:50:48I don't know if John. Havelcheck is just overall more
- 1:50:51round, well-rounded. I'm going to go Hondo here and
- 1:50:54go John Havelcheck. All right.
- 1:50:59Next, here we are. All right, we get the Lakers in
- 1:51:01the 80s. This is.
- 1:51:03This is. Magic all the I've got Kareem,
- 1:51:10but now magic was at was he was averaging crazy and we can move
- 1:51:15around the different spots. We'll we'll throw them in the
- 1:51:18point to start. Next one.
- 1:51:23Yeah Charlotte of the 20 tens we're just going to re spend
- 1:51:26that I'm not I'm avoiding using the Hornets at all costs.
- 1:51:30Perfect. We'll take we'll take Luca again
- 1:51:33not the version of Luke the best version of Luca the 2020 ones is
- 1:51:37is a lot better, but he he's still got he's he'll still for
- 1:51:42their purposes. I'm liking this here.
- 1:51:43We just really need to finish strong in the front court.
- 1:51:47Minnesota all. Right now the question.
- 1:51:51Here is always Kevin Love or. We definitely do.
- 1:51:57We don't this. Is on the back in the K GS
- 1:51:59career. His numbers aren't the best we'd
- 1:52:01bet what take KG in the 2000s. Kevin Love or.
- 1:52:07Karl Anthony Towns. Anybody on TikTok?
- 1:52:11Got got the preference there, Joel.
- 1:52:14I'm leaning towards cat I think. No, not, not, Not yet.
- 1:52:20All right, well. I'm going to go ahead and take
- 1:52:22Karl Anthony Towns think that's the right choice there.
- 1:52:25We'll leave our power Ford slot open.
- 1:52:27I can move Cal around, so that gives us some flexibility and we
- 1:52:31get Milwaukee. We'll just take Giannis here.
- 1:52:39Actually, you know what? This isn't the best version of
- 1:52:41Giannis. I'm not risking on the re spin
- 1:52:43here because I think we've really got to either get Kareem.
- 1:52:46Oh, wow. Well, that's just absolutely the
- 1:52:48worst case scenario for us here. Ah man, who is even Danny?
- 1:52:54Shays. I think we'll go, Danny Shays.
- 1:53:00No. That was this is when Danny
- 1:53:01Shays was washed all. Right.
- 1:53:04Well, I killed us. But I don't think Giannis out
- 1:53:08the the averages Giannis were out weren't going to get us
- 1:53:10there anyway. So I was trying to get Kareem or
- 1:53:14the Twenty 20s Giannis to give us a boost.
- 1:53:18All right, attempt what? Is this number 50?
- 1:53:21Well here we go perfect starts so far we got I am struggling
- 1:53:32the type we get Michael Jordan throw him at the end of the two
- 1:53:41Sacramento in the 20 twenties. Honestly, I don't.
- 1:53:47I could go for the RE. Spin here but I don't hate
- 1:53:50taking deer and fox. He's averaging like almost 25 a
- 1:53:53game and. 8 assists I believe. So we will take that Minnesota.
- 1:54:01Here we go. This is where we take Kevin
- 1:54:04Garnett, take KG here, throw them at St.
- 1:54:08Spot and everyone's playing their like primary position too,
- 1:54:11which is good. Atlanta, this is.
- 1:54:14We'll take Nick. That was like 20.
- 1:54:19Nine in the 80s. And now we just need a.
- 1:54:23Center. All right, we're going to move
- 1:54:25Kevin Garnett there because that opens us up to take Jason Tatum
- 1:54:31out of our power Ford. Oh damn, I mean 70.
- 1:54:37One and 11 is kind of crazy to me because we scored.
- 1:54:41I mean, look at. I wonder who would?
- 1:54:46Even be holding us back that's. A really good.
- 1:54:49Team all right well, I digress let me know what I what mistake
- 1:54:57I made there 'cause apparently the game did not like that we
- 1:55:01keep going though we we power on we're going to get that 72 now
- 1:55:06we're going to just RIP Allen Iverson right off the bat
- 1:55:10awesome start there Philly AI Austin.
- 1:55:16Honestly, this is. Not the greatest era for Boston
- 1:55:20like my I lean towards Kyrie. I think is our best option here
- 1:55:26because Jaylen. Brown.
- 1:55:27Jason Tatum a little too young. This is more than rookie years.
- 1:55:30I'm going to re spend the era. Got some better Boston areas to
- 1:55:34get the 70s. Here we go, I think.
- 1:55:43Talons ain't a bad. Option, but I think we just go
- 1:55:46Havel check again, stick him in there at small Ford.
- 1:55:52It's hoping to get Bird there. That sucks, but you know.
- 1:55:56Beggars can't be choosers. We're going to.
- 1:55:58Go. We're going.
- 1:56:01To go Gilbert. Arenas here with I can't wait
- 1:56:07till I'm OK. I can move AI the shooting guard
- 1:56:10and put Gil as our point guard. There we go.
- 1:56:13I like our front court. We just need to finish strong in
- 1:56:16the back court. OKC in the. 70s they really
- 1:56:23didn't have, I mean, Jack Sigma, I'm going to re spin this.
- 1:56:30I'm not super confident to go with somebody there.
- 1:56:33Chicago. That's not.
- 1:56:39Much better. We're going to go with.
- 1:56:44Arthis Gilmore, I guess, and that's not good options.
- 1:56:48I probably killed us there. I don't think we're getting it
- 1:56:50there. Oh man, that's Philly.
- 1:56:52In the 90s, well, we can take Charles Barkley, actually.
- 1:56:57All right, that wasn't bad. All right.
- 1:57:00I think Arthis Gilmore was our best pick there.
- 1:57:03Man, 1712. Hunt, yeah, I think Havelcheck
- 1:57:09and then Gilmore just. Aren't giving us quite.
- 1:57:13Enough points per game. That's that's all with averages
- 1:57:18there though. I.
- 1:57:19Can't believe we're we're still in double digit losses.
- 1:57:22We should be getting closer. All right, we're going.
- 1:57:26To do a few more. Attempts.
- 1:57:27Here to hit that 82 and now I'm just going to Reese for the team
- 1:57:31in the 90s. I don't want somebody from
- 1:57:32Phoenix, Orlando, OK, that works out.
- 1:57:34We'll take Shaq. Where are you at?
- 1:57:37Shaquille O'Neal. Big one there.
- 1:57:43Chicago in the 60s going to use the arrow re spin because I
- 1:57:49don't think they got anybody were taking it works out we're
- 1:57:52going to get Michael Jordan that's big for us now we feel a
- 1:58:00great start. Hopefully we get some good spins
- 1:58:02LA and all right, we're oh. Pop up there.
- 1:58:08We're going to. Go and get.
- 1:58:10Magic Johnson here pop him in there.
- 1:58:13This is this is looking great. So this could be the run guys.
- 1:58:18All right, let's. Not get discouraged, Golden
- 1:58:23State. I might move.
- 1:58:28Here we go, actually. Do I take Bernard?
- 1:58:33King or do I move magic to the power forward so we can get I
- 1:58:37think it's World B free. See on this team.
- 1:58:47Anybody in the comments? What would you do?
- 1:58:48Let me go Bernard King here just 'cause I don't want to.
- 1:58:55I don't know if this is where World was averaging more points.
- 1:58:59I think with the Clippers. Let me go, Chris, we're.
- 1:59:05Going to go. We're going to.
- 1:59:06Go with darn King here. Hopefully that was the right.
- 1:59:09Choice. And we're in the. 70s and this
- 1:59:18is this is also not a great wow, this is a terrible way to finish
- 1:59:22this off. It was looking so.
- 1:59:25Promising. I guess we have to go.
- 1:59:26George McGinnis here. 76 and six man.
- 1:59:31Yeah, but those are good choices, all right.
- 1:59:36I wonder if maybe. Magic.
- 1:59:37Is. Maybe like Kareem's.
- 1:59:40A better play I'm not have to try that next time.
