- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Whoop, so I want to talk to you today about creating your little
- 0:35islands of peace. And having those little things
- 0:40that you can go to that really give you a boost during your
- 0:46day. So we obviously, you know, I've
- 0:49talked about this many times that the chicken coop is a great
- 0:51place for me. I come out here, anytime I want
- 0:53to hang out, I want to just feel good about things, I come out
- 0:56and I hang out with my girls because they make me feel good,
- 0:58they make me smile and their silly.
- 1:00I just love them all, but other things that you can do during
- 1:04the day to give yourself a reboot and a boost that you
- 1:09definitely can use regularly are so imperative to like the reset
- 1:15button when something throws you off because I talked about this
- 1:18not long ago about how the next moment is a new beginning but
- 1:21you have to actually hit that reboot and sometimes what's
- 1:24really hard about this is that we get so stuck in our head
- 1:28about that. Were part of the process.
- 1:32We don't actually think about the, like tactic of it.
- 1:36How do we hit that reboot? Where is it?
- 1:38Where are those little things that make the difference?
- 1:42And like, for me collecting eggs, huge reboot.
- 1:45I absolutely love finding how many eggs I have, like, I and
- 1:48the colors of them all the different things that pop up,
- 1:51that it just amazes me when I go out there, but besides that,
- 1:57it's me walking around taking pictures of flowers things that
- 2:00I Find while I'm walking and talking to clients.
- 2:02But let's say you're in an office and you can't do any of
- 2:05that stuff. What do you do?
- 2:07Well, there are Bunches of little tiny things that you can
- 2:11tap back to like your childhood. What are the things that you
- 2:14like to do? When you were a kid?
- 2:16Did you love to color? Did you love to use Play-Doh?
- 2:20Did you love taking pictures with something?
- 2:23I loved as a kid, and it's way easier now than it was
- 2:26developing film. God, that was the worst having
- 2:28to wait and drop it off for any of view.
- 2:30I'm showing my age right now. He's of having to be a little
- 2:34kid waiting to get pictures back from photo mat and driving to
- 2:37the fotomat booth. Boy.
- 2:39I used to absolutely be so excited and then I'd open the
- 2:42envelope be like I missed it so frustrating.
- 2:45Anyway, I digress for a moment there, but back to these little
- 2:50tiny things. So, for some people doing that
- 2:54kind of stuff, really matters, like having the Tactical stuff
- 2:58of coloring crayons. You know, I love all of that
- 3:02stuff. Some of my clients really love
- 3:05to use hidden pictures. Remember the hidden pictures
- 3:08things where you're looking for something?
- 3:10Well, there's an app for that. Believe it or not.
- 3:12And you can sit and just play hidden pictures.
- 3:14Wordle is a big thing. A lot of my clients like will
- 3:18say, okay I'm going to do Wordle and that takes them out of the
- 3:22mass mind for a short period of time and lets them reboot and
- 3:26then they feel, you know, like they've had a respite and that's
- 3:29what this is all about. About just pulling yourself out
- 3:33for most of us when we use online, though, we have to be
- 3:36really careful because sometimes like when we start we go down a
- 3:38rabbit hole and we never come back.
- 3:40So you have to set the timer. You have to be really careful
- 3:43with it and you have to know, but if you give yourself those
- 3:45ten minute respite, so I promise you, they make a massive
- 3:49difference, 10 minutes now, what's really funny about this
- 3:52is that if you don't choose to give yourself the respite, your
- 3:57brain will force you to do it because all of a sudden, you
- 4:00will Literally not be paying attention.
- 4:02You'll find yourself floating. You'll be like, I just had to
- 4:05read this paragraph 6 times. I don't even know what I read or
- 4:08what was I doing? I'm constantly forgetting.
- 4:10I can't stay on task because you haven't gotten up from your
- 4:13chair or your desk. You haven't gone to pee, you
- 4:16haven't eaten and you're causing your frustration, your causing
- 4:20your problem because you're not giving your mind the opportunity
- 4:23to take the break. That it so desperately needs.
- 4:26So you have to force yourself to do it.
- 4:29You have to force yourself to To say, I'm going to test this, I'm
- 4:31going to give myself this break and this time so that I know, I
- 4:35can go back and be at 100% because I would rather you work
- 4:38really at that hundred percent level or that 90% level then
- 4:42that 60% level and we know those aren't productive.
- 4:45We know those times are just a waste, you're wasting your
- 4:48space, you're wasting who you are in those moments.
- 4:51Because you just have to keep going back and forth, and back
- 4:53and forth and back and forth. So try this, see if it helps see
- 4:57if it works, and I hope you guys Guys find your little thing by
- 5:02some crayons by some Legos. I have a lot of guys that love
- 5:05to use the Legos. Use it do whatever but give
- 5:08yourself those breaks because I promise you they make a
- 5:11tremendous difference. All right, my friends, I will
- 5:14see you tomorrow and I hope you have a very blessed day today.
- 5:19Bye.
