- 0:00Speaker 1: Chad, I'm not very litigious. Consider that, Chad. I don't
- 0:04Speaker 1: think you are either, but who knows? Maybe there will
- 0:06Speaker 1: be a time when we need to retain. Clay Travis Law.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Accidents don't wait for a great time or great timing.
- 0:14Speaker 1: One bad moment, a wreck, a fall, a doctor who
- 0:16Speaker 1: wasn't paying attention, and suddenly you're fighting an insurance company
- 0:20Speaker 1: that does this every single day. That's why Clay started
- 0:22Speaker 1: Clay Travis Law. He's a Vanderbilt Law grab. He built
- 0:24Speaker 1: a firm around the idea that people deserve someone willing
- 0:27Speaker 1: to pay attention to them, ask hard questions.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Push back when things don't add up.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Experienced trial attorneys who bring the fight to corporations and
- 0:34Speaker 1: insurers based in Nashville and trusted across the country.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Car and truck wrecks, rideshare accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability,
- 0:41Speaker 3: product liability. If you were wrong, they want to hear
- 0:43Speaker 3: about it. And here's what they promised. Honesty. They don't
- 0:46Speaker 3: sugarcoat your case. You'll hear what it's actually worth, not
- 0:48Speaker 3: what you want to hear. Case evaluation is free. No charge,
- 0:51Speaker 3: no pressure, no hassle. Just tell them your story. Go
- 0:55Speaker 3: to claytravislaw.com or call 877-222-7000. 4444, that's claytravislaw.com. No case
- 1:02Speaker 3: is too big.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Or too small.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Everyone is trying to be litigious of Arch Manning now.
- 1:07Speaker 1: He's moved on from Sark. And now it's Arch. Someone's
- 1:14Speaker 1: edited through AI the video of Sark and Holly Roe.
- 1:18Speaker 1: And we're now seeing and reading criticism of Arch and
- 1:22Speaker 1: his reaction and what laughing to it.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Well, let's play the– we got press conference footage of
- 1:26Speaker 3: Arch Manning. They were asking about the Sark-Holly Roe exchange,
- 1:30Speaker 3: and he was joking about the AI edits of it
- 1:33Speaker 3: when one of them slapping Holly Roe. Here is Arch
- 1:36Speaker 3: Manning of Texas.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I've seen a few AI edits and stuff, but that's
- 1:41Speaker 4: about it.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I saw an AI edit of Sark's interview. You all
- 1:46Speaker 2: seen that one?
- 1:47Speaker 3: That's a good one.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Of him slapping Holly Roe.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's hilarious. I laughed at it.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Did you see, uh, did you see him look to
- 2:02Speaker 3: his right to the SID?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Uh, Oh yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I think he was told like, knock it off. You
- 2:07Speaker 3: could tell like he's laughing and looking over like, yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 3: don't probably don't do that.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But I mean, I, I'm smiling at that when I
- 2:12Speaker 1: see that you just scroll and you see what people
- 2:14Speaker 1: have done. Uh, and, and honestly, like people are laughing
- 2:20Speaker 1: at random stuff all the time on, on social media. Um,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I don't think this is a situation where it involves
- 2:28Speaker 1: criticism and an apology is issued on this behalf. Well,
- 2:33Speaker 1: this is where we get into the, I don't want
- 2:35Speaker 1: to side with my critics too much here that are,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, siding with Sark versus Holly Roe, probably because
- 2:42Speaker 1: they just don't like the media or they don't like
- 2:44Speaker 1: Holly Roe. This is where I think we get a
- 2:46Speaker 1: little too worshipy of Holly Roe with media.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Members that have a problem with it. You know, like,
- 2:52Speaker 3: how dare you insult the queen? In that way, it's
- 2:56Speaker 3: a real stretch to think that I giggled at this
- 2:59Speaker 3: video or whatever of my coach doing something stupid to
- 3:04Speaker 3: Arch Manning supports beating women. Men and violence against women
- 3:09Speaker 3: or anything like that. I mean, come on. We're taking
- 3:13Speaker 3: too big of a leap there. I saw Nicole Auerbach
- 3:15Speaker 3: say that this is gross with the grown men in
- 3:17Speaker 3: the room laughing when he says that about it. And
- 3:20Speaker 3: I'm like... I think this is much ado about nothing
- 3:25Speaker 3: on this one. There are times where I'm like, okay,
- 3:28Speaker 3: I can see the point here. I can also understand
- 3:30Speaker 3: the SID probably saying like, yeah, let's move on to
- 3:34Speaker 3: Arch to kind of save him from criticism on that
- 3:37Speaker 3: when they're hearing what he's saying, all that stuff. I
- 3:40Speaker 3: got no big issue with the SID trying to stop it.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I got no big issue with what Arch said. Arch
- 3:45Speaker 3: also has become a really reliable quote in college football.
- 3:49Speaker 3: He will tell you what he's thinking. He's a funny kid.
- 3:53Speaker 3: He gets the sense of humor from his uncles and
- 3:56Speaker 3: his dad, right? When you hear him talk and his
- 3:59Speaker 3: observations of things, he kind of gets this wry smile
- 4:02Speaker 3: on his face where you know he's about to say
- 4:03Speaker 3: something funny when he's answering questions. I don't want to
- 4:06Speaker 3: take that out of him. The last thing I want
- 4:08Speaker 3: to do is like this becomes some media firestorm and
- 4:12Speaker 3: everybody thinks he's a woman beater, that he's okay with
- 4:15Speaker 3: men beating women and all that, which is not the case.
- 4:18Speaker 3: with Archmaning, and I don't think anybody should believe that.
- 4:20Speaker 3: But I don't want that to take his personality away
- 4:22Speaker 3: from him.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Well, I mean, but even if it's like.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Am I supposed to believe that if I play Mortal
- 4:27Speaker 1: Kombat growing up, that that's somehow going to make me
- 4:31Speaker 1: a bad person? Or if I watch Game of Thrones,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I don't have to laugh at something to be able
- 4:36Speaker 1: to enjoy a show. Like, if I'm watching Game of
- 4:37Speaker 1: Thrones and watching the Dothraki Horde, I mean, does.
- 4:40Speaker 2: That make me a... You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I mean.
- 4:46Speaker 2: The pick and choosing of all of this, it goes
- 4:48Speaker 2: back to Holly Roe. It does. The queen.
- 4:52Speaker 3: The sports siren. She's the queen.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I just don't understand it, man. Always looking for a
- 4:59Speaker 1: column or a reason to ask for apologies. To criticize
- 5:06Speaker 1: someone's reaction. They didn't do anything but scroll.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay. There's better things to do.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Do not, if you're Arch Manning or Texas, issue any apology.
- 5:20Speaker 3: This is my advice on this. Completely move on. Do
- 5:24Speaker 3: not issue an apology. I know the SID that was
- 5:26Speaker 3: there that you could tell Arch Manning's looking over at
- 5:29Speaker 3: the media relations person to stop it. That person better
- 5:32Speaker 3: not then go to Arch and say, hey, we're going
- 5:34Speaker 3: to release a statement. You don't think it's funny. You
- 5:37Speaker 3: thought something else was funny. Don't say anything. This is
- 5:40Speaker 3: my media relations 101 on this one. Let it die.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Let Nicole Auerbach be pissed off. Let some media members
- 5:47Speaker 3: get angry about it. I saw Gene Wojciechowski had a
- 5:50Speaker 3: long tweet about it. Other people are picking it up,
- 5:52Speaker 3: and they're going to angry tweet it and let it die. Honestly,
- 5:56Speaker 3: I didn't like Steve Sarkeesian in the moment with Holly Roe.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I would never say Texas should apologize or that he
- 6:02Speaker 3: needs to go apologize for it.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Let it die.
- 6:05Speaker 3: We love the news cycle being quick, and it refreshes
- 6:08Speaker 3: every 6 to 12 hours anyways. If I'm Texas... No
- 6:13Speaker 3: apology will be given on Arch Manning. We're moving on
- 6:16Speaker 3: to UTSA.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Tomorrow, Matthew McConaughey will have done something, and it will
- 6:20Speaker 1: be on to him instead of Arch.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Well, Matthew McConaughey, I'm sure, has done something on camera. Right.
- 6:26Speaker 2: That's awful, you know, over his career.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Wolf of Wall Street. He's masturbating or
- 6:31Speaker 1: he's talking about it on camera.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's like, oh, my gosh, you know, now
- 6:34Speaker 3: Matthew McConaughey.
- 6:35Speaker 2: We've got to.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Be the arbiter of all things McConaughey, the McConaussots. Now,
- 6:40Speaker 3: when you look back at his career, I mean, come on.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Chad, just because we watched the program doesn't mean that
- 6:45Speaker 1: we're steroid users.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And the program got into violence against women.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Of course.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Also with Latimer and his roid rages and what that sparked.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm sure they've watched something too like that, is my point.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I love the film. It's true to life. It
- 7:00Speaker 3: doesn't mean that you condone bad acts or anything like that.
- 7:03Speaker 3: But I just think people need to chill out on
- 7:06Speaker 3: this one.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Pete Golding taking on Lane Kiffin.
- 7:11Speaker 1: So there's plenty to get to with the battle here
- 7:16Speaker 1: and the expectation. Chad, I want to get what your
- 7:20Speaker 1: vibe is for how you think both coaches will act
- 7:24Speaker 1: on game day and then react postgame.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I'm fascinated by that dynamic. And we're headed to Oxford
- 7:30Speaker 2: this weekend. It's going to be a blast.
- 7:31Speaker 1: We'll tell you more about that as well straight ahead
- 7:33Speaker 1: here on Hunting with Roe. It is Hutton & Withrow.
- 7:36Speaker 1: We are presented by Hard Rock Bet. You get the $ 5.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You play $ 5, get the $ 100 back in bonus bets
- 7:42Speaker 1: right now at hardrock.bet. Clay is where you go. Speaking
- 7:46Speaker 1: of Clay, he's the founder of Crockett Coffee, Davy Crockett.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Crockett Coffee started by Clay Travis, Buck Sexton, and Buck's
- 7:54Speaker 1: brother Mason. Named after Davy Crockett, the hunter, the storyteller,
- 7:57Speaker 1: the patriot. The Backwoods legend. I mean, look at the logo.
- 8:00Speaker 1: He's surfing the backs of crocodiles here. It tells you
- 8:02Speaker 1: everything you need to know about the attitude. 100% pure Arabica,
- 8:05Speaker 1: high-altitude beans, small batch roasted right here in America, in Tennessee,
- 8:09Speaker 1: heart of the country. It ships fresh roasted, not sitting
- 8:12Speaker 1: on a warehouse shelf for six months. Light roast, medium, dark, decaf, organic,
- 8:17Speaker 1: even a mushroom blend. Whole bean, ground, or K-cups, however
- 8:20Speaker 1: you make it in the morning.
- 8:22Speaker 3: That's right. However you want it, on your schedule, you
- 8:26Speaker 3: can set up your subscription now. Change it or cancel
- 8:28Speaker 3: at any time, like the free market intended. It's the
- 8:31Speaker 3: taste of America, Crockett Coffee. Free shipping on orders for
- 8:35Speaker 3: $ 59 or more, and there's a discount for veterans. Crockett
- 8:37Speaker 3: also partners with Tunnel to Towers, building mortgage-free homes for
- 8:41Speaker 3: the families of fallen service members and for catastrophically injured
- 8:43Speaker 3: veterans and first responders. Good coffee, made in America, doing
- 8:48Speaker 3: some good. CrockettCoffee.com. That's Crockett, C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T, coffee.com.
- 8:55Speaker 1: We've got to get some Blue Ridge. We need another
- 8:56Speaker 1: order of Blue Ridge, Chad.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Sun Creek and Blue Ridge, just a light and medium
- 9:01Speaker 1: roast there. It's going to be roasting in Oxford this Saturday,
- 9:07Speaker 1: like 95, I believe. But the temperature is going to
- 9:10Speaker 1: be high for– Both teams playing in this as well.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Both head coaches going head-to-head, Pete Golding, of course, and
- 9:16Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin. I'm fascinated by the dynamic of how Kiffin
- 9:20Speaker 1: will treat the week. I think he'll try to be respectful,
- 9:22Speaker 1: but with him, he's always going to throw some bait
- 9:25Speaker 1: out there. And the attention really isn't on Golding at all,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but I think it will be because it's on if
- 9:32Speaker 1: he takes the bait. He's trying to get his team
- 9:34Speaker 1: not to. Here's Golding discussing how he's trying to approach
- 9:38Speaker 1: the week, and what he's preaching to his team about
- 9:41Speaker 1: how to treat the week.
- 9:43Speaker 4: And we're going to have to prepare the right way
- 9:45Speaker 4: this week and get locked in and get focused. A
- 9:48Speaker 4: lot going on.
- 9:49Speaker 2: You've got L.A. Langley. You've got game day. You've got
- 9:51Speaker 2: so much other stuff.
- 9:52Speaker 4: But to me, it's like high school homecoming for these dudes.
- 9:55Speaker 4: If you focus on the wrong shit, that homecoming dance
- 9:58Speaker 4: ain't very fun after you get your butt beat on
- 10:00Speaker 4: a Friday night. So we got to make sure we're
- 10:02Speaker 4: doing everything right throughout the week to get the outcome
- 10:04Speaker 4: that we want.
- 10:06Speaker 1: The thing about homecoming, though, Chad, is during that day
- 10:09Speaker 1: of the homecoming game, The players are doing something at noon,
- 10:12Speaker 1: at 2 o'clock, at 5 o'clock, at 6. There's something
- 10:16Speaker 1: every hour on the hour that some event you're going to.
- 10:20Speaker 2: That's going to.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Be all week for Ole Miss. They have prepared for
- 10:24Speaker 1: this all offseason. And you know Lane Kiffin has too.
- 10:28Speaker 1: That halftime speech that he gave earlier, that was about
- 10:31Speaker 1: this week, about BTA. He's trying to always have the mentality,
- 10:36Speaker 1: we're not done.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Let's send a message about us being on the schedule.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I think Kiffin will have the respectful tone of what
- 10:49Speaker 1: he tried to pull off last year when he left.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But Golding and Ole Miss, they're pissed off for greatness.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And if there's one slight along the way, how do
- 11:00Speaker 1: they react publicly? I can't wait to watch it play out.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I think Pete Golding has handled things beautifully in his
- 11:07Speaker 3: short time as head coach. I really like the guy
- 11:09Speaker 3: more and more the more I hear him speak. I
- 11:11Speaker 3: think he's handling this well. He's not making it about
- 11:12Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin. He's making it about a big game in
- 11:15Speaker 3: Oxford and a chance to showcase Oxford, Mississippi to the world,
- 11:19Speaker 3: a place that he loves. And he's a great salesman
- 11:22Speaker 3: for Ole Miss, that program, for Oxford, for everything else.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And I think he's handling it very professionally but directly
- 11:29Speaker 3: about what they have to do To get the outcome
- 11:31Speaker 3: that they want in this game. I think it's been terrific.
- 11:34Speaker 3: I also like how Keith Carter, his AD, is the
- 11:36Speaker 3: one giving the strong quotes. In the article by Chris Lowe,
- 11:40Speaker 3: he's the one saying, people here have a hard time
- 11:43Speaker 3: forgiving Lane, not because he left, but because he's tried
- 11:47Speaker 3: to hurt us at every corner. He has tried to
- 11:50Speaker 3: manipulate staff members, players on the team, everything else on
- 11:55Speaker 3: his way out. The same complaints when he left Knoxville.
- 11:58Speaker 1: They believe that he's the one that's leaked stuff to Dabo,
- 12:00Speaker 1: even though Dabo says absolutely not.
- 12:02Speaker 2: They know it. They know it's true.
- 12:03Speaker 3: And they also know what he did with all the staff,
- 12:06Speaker 3: some that remained, some that left, during that playoff run
- 12:09Speaker 3: to players on the team. Again, it's not that he left.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Keith Carter even said, hey, you want to go somewhere else?
- 12:15Speaker 3: You want to do it?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 12:16Speaker 3: You made that decision.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Go.
- 12:18Speaker 3: But then it became it's hard for Ole Miss people
- 12:20Speaker 3: to process. This is exactly what he did in Knoxville.
- 12:23Speaker 3: It's not just that he left late at night, late
- 12:26Speaker 3: in the process. It's their calling with Ed Orgeron, all
- 12:30Speaker 3: the recruits at Tennessee, to try to go to USC
- 12:32Speaker 3: with them. They're outwardly trying to hurt the place they're leaving.
- 12:36Speaker 3: That's what Lane Kiffin does. Here's also what Lane Kiffin does.
- 12:39Speaker 3: We've heard this in his press availability. He tries to
- 12:42Speaker 3: take all of the negative energy– focus it on him
- 12:46Speaker 3: so his team can go out and perform the way
- 12:47Speaker 3: they need to perform. He's already said it, Hutton. He
- 12:50Speaker 3: said pressure's on them on Ole Miss. You know, I
- 12:53Speaker 3: told my guys, we're going up there. This is the
- 12:55Speaker 3: biggest event they've had ever. This is a huge deal
- 12:58Speaker 3: to them. Pressure's all on them at home to win
- 13:00Speaker 3: this game. Why does he do that? Because he's trying
- 13:02Speaker 3: to take the pressure off of his guys to go
- 13:05Speaker 3: and play loose, knowing that it's going to thrill him
- 13:08Speaker 3: more than anything else if his guys deliver for him.
- 13:11Speaker 3: and win this game and make Lane Kiffin look like
- 13:13Speaker 3: a genius for leaving Ole Miss. He wants it so badly,
- 13:17Speaker 3: but I think psychologically he's playing it the way I
- 13:20Speaker 3: expect Lane Kiffin to play it, and I think it's
- 13:22Speaker 3: the right way to play it, of saying we're going
- 13:24Speaker 3: up there to play a football game, we're going to
- 13:25Speaker 3: have security around us because they're so fired up about it.
- 13:29Speaker 3: This is their Super Bowl of Super Bowls, and so
- 13:32Speaker 3: the pressure is all on them. We're going to be
- 13:34Speaker 3: in Oxford also. All this talk about, I saw Governor
- 13:37Speaker 3: Jeff Landry quoted, saying we're going to have to have
- 13:40Speaker 3: the National Guard protect our fans and our team and everything.
- 13:44Speaker 2: So overblown.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It's going to be a crazy atmosphere. It's going to
- 13:47Speaker 3: be loud. There's going to be fans yelling at LSU
- 13:49Speaker 3: fans and all that. Once you get in the Grove
- 13:51Speaker 3: on Saturday, it's going to be like a lot of
- 13:53Speaker 3: big games in the Grove. I don't think it's going
- 13:55Speaker 3: to be some big disastrous scene in Oxford, Mississippi over
- 13:59Speaker 3: the weekend.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Well, I think.
- 14:03Speaker 1: The only example of that would be the golf balls
- 14:06Speaker 1: and all that stuff when he returned to Knoxville. But
- 14:10Speaker 1: that was over the reaction of how he left, too.
- 14:12Speaker 1: There's always going to be someone or some people that
- 14:16Speaker 1: go crazy when they get drunk.
- 14:18Speaker 2: So.
- 14:19Speaker 3: There could be some bottles flying, which would not be good.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Let's also say that didn't happen when he exited the
- 14:24Speaker 3: tunnel for the game. That was the end of the
- 14:27Speaker 3: game after multiple fake injuries, after multiple calls went against Tennessee,
- 14:33Speaker 3: and after he's over there celebrating on the sideline. Now, again,
- 14:37Speaker 3: that could happen again if LSU's.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Up two scores.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'm curious on how he treats the end of the
- 14:41Speaker 1: game if he is. They very well could be. I
- 14:46Speaker 1: think Ole Miss is pretty good. But LSU could be
- 14:49Speaker 1: great if they put it together. And they have put
- 14:52Speaker 1: the foot to click down on opponents so far. But
- 14:57Speaker 1: this will be a different era. I think he's also
- 15:00Speaker 1: saying the whole pressure's on them because he knows they're listening.
- 15:04Speaker 1: How would you not be able to listen to everyone
- 15:08Speaker 1: talking about this game? I would be all in to
- 15:09Speaker 1: see you're a part of it. You're in the nucleus
- 15:12Speaker 1: of it. You're in the eye of the storm.
- 15:14Speaker 2: But if.
- 15:16Speaker 1: how does LSU play, how do they react on behalf
- 15:19Speaker 1: of this coming into the hostile environment? Because they will
- 15:22Speaker 1: be representing Lane Kiffin when they hear the trash talk.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And then how do they react if they're up two
- 15:28Speaker 1: scores as an individual player or team or position group
- 15:31Speaker 1: who has heard the trash talk behind them the entire game?
- 15:34Speaker 1: This could get really, really fun to watch. But at
- 15:38Speaker 1: the same time, it could be very interesting to see
- 15:41Speaker 1: what craziness transpires. and whether or not you want to
- 15:44Speaker 1: be on the field. Maybe there's some more mace and
- 15:46Speaker 1: pepper spray out of their way.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it could get ugly. I don't think it will,
- 15:50Speaker 3: but certainly it could. Let me also say, Pete Golding
- 15:54Speaker 3: is marketing himself as the anti-Lane Kiffin, and I like that.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I think it's smart. Here's another example. The Walk of Champions,
- 16:00Speaker 3: which is the walk-in through the Grove for the Ole
- 16:02Speaker 3: Miss team, every year the head coach has led the walk.
- 16:06Speaker 3: It's announced this week, and I don't think it's by mistake,
- 16:09Speaker 3: that Pete Golding is not going to take part in
- 16:11Speaker 3: the Walk of Champions. Why? Because he wants his players
- 16:13Speaker 3: to have the spotlight. Doesn't want it to be about him.
- 16:16Speaker 3: He thinks that should be something for them, much like
- 16:18Speaker 3: locker room time is for them, and I'm going to
- 16:21Speaker 3: go into the stadium separately. Now, it also, it's great
- 16:24Speaker 3: for the coach that you don't have to do any
- 16:26Speaker 3: of the pregame ceremony stuff that coaches, as we know,
- 16:28Speaker 3: never want to do anyways. So you get to kind
- 16:30Speaker 3: of go into the stadium when you want and not
- 16:31Speaker 3: go through all the pomp and circumstance. But that's another
- 16:35Speaker 3: part of Pete Golding is saying, Lane Kiffin is a
- 16:39Speaker 3: me guy. I'm a we guy. He's all about himself.
- 16:42Speaker 3: He doesn't care about you. That's what they're going to
- 16:44Speaker 3: recruit against him. He's not a team guy.
- 16:47Speaker 2: He's a me guy. He's about Lane.
- 16:48Speaker 3: He's going to make social media about him. He's going
- 16:50Speaker 3: to make the ESPN spotlight, a national spotlight about him, ultimately.
- 16:55Speaker 3: And that's who he is genuinely. Pete Golding is saying, genuinely,
- 16:59Speaker 3: I'm a guy who doesn't need all the credit. Like,
- 17:01Speaker 3: I'm a ball coach, and I care about our team
- 17:03Speaker 3: doing well, and I want the players to get the
- 17:05Speaker 3: spotlight if anyone gets it.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I think it's a smart move by Golden.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I think that's smart by him, by the entire leadership
- 17:13Speaker 1: group there. Walker Jones is a good example. He repeated
- 17:16Speaker 1: a lot of this whenever he joined us, what, two
- 17:18Speaker 1: weeks ago. There are examples of that throughout. And meanwhile,
- 17:22Speaker 1: we know how LSU has handled some things with their leadership,
- 17:25Speaker 1: for example. Sidney Sweeney and the follower count with the
- 17:31Speaker 1: ads and much more. We discussed, well, we just mentioned
- 17:35Speaker 1: the name and everyone tunes in. That's straight ahead here
- 17:38Speaker 1: on Hutton & Withrow. Hutton & Withrow, we're presented by
- 17:42Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet. Right now, you can get the bonus
- 17:46Speaker 1: bet at hardrock.bet.com. XXXY Athletics, founded by Jennifer Save, former
- 17:53Speaker 1: national champion gymnast. She's former Levi's brand president, and she
- 17:57Speaker 1: walked away from a corporate job rather than to say
- 17:59Speaker 1: something she didn't believe and started XXXY Athletics instead. And
- 18:02Speaker 1: the mission, in their words, is to empower female athletes
- 18:04Speaker 1: and take a stand together. for fair competition. They call
- 18:07Speaker 1: it the T that launched a movement. This is real
- 18:10Speaker 1: athletic apparel. Chad, this is where you get the Nashville
- 18:12Speaker 1: Balls gear as well.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Future WNBA franchise that could be a dynasty if Clay

- 18:35Speaker 2: Chad, so what?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Cindy Sweeney's facing backlash over her ads, her social advertisements.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Certainly not the first time that she's been in an
- 18:47Speaker 1: advertisement campaign somewhat like this. But, I mean, it's turning
- 18:52Speaker 1: heads to get a reaction exactly what they expected it would.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Yeah, she's lost over 200,000 followers on Instagram over this
- 19:02Speaker 3: ad campaign that she's done. where she has gone completely
- 19:07Speaker 3: nude other than sporting apparel that's covering the personal parts
- 19:13Speaker 3: of her. She's talking about just sports.
- 19:16Speaker 1: I would compare it to an SI swimsuit issue. We've
- 19:19Speaker 1: seen that. There were athletes that did that with basketballs
- 19:22Speaker 1: or footballs or something.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, there's a body issue of ESPN the magazine.
- 19:27Speaker 2: There you go.
- 19:28Speaker 3: They're completely nude. There's nothing covering them. They're just turned
- 19:31Speaker 3: in a certain way. That's a good point. Or covering
- 19:33Speaker 3: something up where they're doing it. Sydney Sweeney posted that
- 19:36Speaker 3: because all these female athletes are coming out saying, this
- 19:38Speaker 3: is women's sports. This is what women's sports look like.
- 19:41Speaker 3: And it's them playing tennis or bodybuilding or running or whatever. Not,
- 19:45Speaker 3: you know, not Sydney Sweeney. And I think it was
- 19:47Speaker 3: a story that has since expired, but she started posting. ESPN,
- 19:51Speaker 3: the body issues like, Oh, so this is women's sports.
- 19:53Speaker 3: This is basically, you're doing the same exact thing that
- 19:56Speaker 3: I'm doing here also. And I, I guess Wilson, I
- 19:59Speaker 3: think wrote about it at, uh, at sport and state.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Are people confused about what she's doing? Do we have
- 20:06Speaker 3: to explain the point of all of this? Do the
- 20:10Speaker 3: women that are outraged about this think that she's claiming
- 20:13Speaker 3: to be an athlete? When she says it's all about
- 20:16Speaker 3: sports and she's wearing shoulder pads for a football team
- 20:19Speaker 3: and she's sitting on top of a basketball goal mood,
- 20:22Speaker 3: do they think that she's claiming she's a basketball player
- 20:25Speaker 3: and not them? Have they completely missed the messaging here
- 20:28Speaker 3: is what I want to ask.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I haven't seen anyone complain about it. I've seen more
- 20:33Speaker 1: women look at it. And try to compare.
- 20:37Speaker 2: It's the age of social media. Everyone's talking about it.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It's probably someone's husband was looking at it and they
- 20:47Speaker 1: got pissed off.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:52Speaker 1: The idea that it's backlash, that's the reaction I think
- 20:56Speaker 1: they wanted. They're getting talked about more because of the
- 20:58Speaker 1: backlash now. It's like you either love it or you
- 21:01Speaker 1: hate it, but everyone's talking about it.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Well, her jeans, the American Eagle jeans ad.
- 21:05Speaker 2: There you go.
- 21:06Speaker 3: That blew up. It was probably great for that. I mean,
- 21:08Speaker 3: she plays a character on a show, Euphoria, where they're
- 21:12Speaker 3: outwardly mocking, and she's doing it herself, like the sexualization
- 21:17Speaker 3: of her and how she owns it and makes a
- 21:19Speaker 3: ton of money off of it. I mean, she became
- 21:22Speaker 3: basically a call girl online in the final season of
- 21:25Speaker 3: the show, and they're doing all this crazy stuff with
- 21:28Speaker 3: her on the show simply because it's playing into the...
- 21:32Speaker 3: mythology around Sydney Sweeney and how she's marketed herself and
- 21:36Speaker 3: how she's branded. And look, she's been very successful doing it.
- 21:40Speaker 3: When people get outraged by things like this, I'm like, well,
- 21:43Speaker 3: first off, it's working, the ads and what she's doing
- 21:47Speaker 3: and what she's trying to get across. And also, this
- 21:49Speaker 3: is not new. People are mad about the exploitation of women,
- 21:53Speaker 3: but the same people mad about the exploitation of women
- 21:57Speaker 3: want to argue about female body empowerment. and how women
- 22:00Speaker 3: should be able to flaunt themselves and do whatever they
- 22:03Speaker 3: want and do whatever they want with their body.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Which is it?
- 22:06Speaker 3: Because here is a young woman who is an actress
- 22:09Speaker 3: and a model who's made a ton of money. She
- 22:12Speaker 3: can do what she wants. And if she's going to
- 22:14Speaker 3: become a partner in a sports wagering company by doing
- 22:18Speaker 3: it and doing the ads, okay, great.
- 22:20Speaker 1: But you have a sprinter or someone that came out
- 22:23Speaker 1: and said, hey, this is what women's athletics looks like.
- 22:26Speaker 1: you know, like hard work, blood, sweat, tears. I'm thinking, yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 1: this was what a hot chick looks like with basketballs
- 22:32Speaker 1: in front of her breasts.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Like, okay.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Well, also the sprinter, you look great too. I mean,
- 22:38Speaker 3: what you're wearing, you don't think guys are looking at you? Like,
- 22:41Speaker 3: this is the world. Like, this is like a physics lesson, right? Like, well, yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 3: guys are looking at that too. And when women in
- 22:50Speaker 3: sports are not wearing a lot, then you're going to
- 22:52Speaker 3: see that as well. Like, it's all sort of the same. Also,
- 22:55Speaker 3: Sidney Sweeney's not claiming to be an athlete. She's not
- 22:58Speaker 3: trying to go into your space and claiming that she
- 23:00Speaker 3: does what you do. She does something very different with
- 23:03Speaker 3: her career than what you're doing. I don't think she's
- 23:05Speaker 3: ever argued differently. I think there's just some mixed messaging
- 23:09Speaker 3: about what people are reading into that and seeing it.
- 23:12Speaker 3: And I just have a problem with the hypocrites that
- 23:15Speaker 3: in one breath, they're like, how dare Sidney Sweeney use
- 23:18Speaker 3: her body as a weapon to market that And to
- 23:22Speaker 3: show herself that way and exploit women are the same
- 23:25Speaker 3: women who are going to argue about body positivity and
- 23:28Speaker 3: female body empowerment. And you do you, girl. You go, girl.
- 23:34Speaker 3: You do what you need to do.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Which is it?
- 23:36Speaker 3: Does she have to cover herself up? Or does she
- 23:38Speaker 3: have the right to use her body however she wants
- 23:40Speaker 3: as a weapon?
- 23:42Speaker 1: And again, just going back to this is exactly what
- 23:45Speaker 1: the advertisement says. This is the goal, right, is to
- 23:48Speaker 1: be talked about more without seeing than it is actually
- 23:53Speaker 1: just scrolling and getting impressions. So it's a job well
- 23:57Speaker 1: done by them and her. She's getting the reaction. And everyone,
- 24:01Speaker 1: there's a buzz with it, even though it's a great
- 24:04Speaker 1: point about ESPN the magazine. That's not one I wouldn't
- 24:07Speaker 1: have bought, though. I would get the Sports Illustrated.
- 24:10Speaker 2: In the mail. It was just a swimsuit edition.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Well, Serena Williams was in the body issue.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Hope Solo.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I mean, there are plenty of big time female athletes
- 24:20Speaker 3: who posed in that one too. And I mean, I'm
- 24:22Speaker 3: sure there was some controversy at the time, but also
- 24:25Speaker 3: I'm thinking like, so the women who are athletes are
- 24:28Speaker 3: allowed to do that, but an actress isn't? I just,
- 24:31Speaker 3: to me, there's so many mixed messages that it just,
- 24:33Speaker 3: a lot of people tying themselves in knots, trying to
- 24:36Speaker 3: explain one side or another that doesn't make any sense.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Guys, it worked.
- 24:40Speaker 3: How many millions of views does it have on X?
- 24:43Speaker 3: that ad that she put out. I mean, that that's
- 24:45Speaker 3: what they're going for is name recognition and to shine
- 24:49Speaker 3: a spotlight on it. And that's why the company made
- 24:52Speaker 3: Sydney Sweeney a partner with what they're doing. So she
- 24:55Speaker 3: can be the marketing arm of it. And guess what?
- 24:57Speaker 3: It paid off and it's likely to pay off for
- 24:59Speaker 3: Sydney Sweeney. Like a lot of things have.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I mean, just is she attractive?
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yes. I mean, that's the point here.
- 25:06Speaker 1: That's the hot girl privilege is Clay likes to say,
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know, like the, the, Oh, by the way, the ESPN,
- 25:12Speaker 1: the magazine chat says, uh, The mission is to showcase
- 25:14Speaker 1: elite athletes' muscles, scars, and diverse body types to highlight
- 25:17Speaker 1: physical power and personal stories over conventional beauty standards.
- 25:22Speaker 2: But then we're going to– let's have them nude.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Conventional beauty standards, like those women look good.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I don't.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Again, the sprinter, you look great. There's a lot of
- 25:36Speaker 3: people whose first response would be like, man, you've taken
- 25:38Speaker 3: excellent care of your body. Like the villain in James
- 25:41Speaker 3: Bond when Daniel Craig says, you've taken excellent care.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Of your body, Mr.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Bond. What a shame, as he tortures him. That's the
- 25:48Speaker 3: response of most guys with that.
- 25:50Speaker 1: What would their reaction have been if Dwayne Wade, who
- 25:53Speaker 1: did the body issue, had done this? Or they say,
- 25:57Speaker 1: this should be a situation where there's a different... Don't
- 26:02Speaker 1: have the athlete up there. Have someone that's fat up there.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Have an average American up there on the rim. Don't
- 26:10Speaker 1: over-sexualize this. No, no one would have said a word.
- 26:14Speaker 1: What actress would have been okay for them? That's what
- 26:16Speaker 1: I would ask.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I think Sidney Sweeney makes it a little bit more
- 26:20Speaker 3: because of the whole American Eagle scandal. There's people that
- 26:23Speaker 3: line her up as MAGA and they're going to attack
- 26:27Speaker 3: her no matter what for that. They don't want her
- 26:29Speaker 3: to get roles for that and all that. Certainly that's
- 26:31Speaker 3: part of it. But I mean.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It's not just Americans that are after her, though, with
- 26:35Speaker 1: the athletes, the spreaders and stuff like that.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Well, if Ellen DeGeneres did it, it would have been funny.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 3: To the same people, right? Or Rosie.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Or, my gosh, look at the bravery of this woman
- 26:50Speaker 3: doing this. Like, wow, she really turned the tables on
- 26:53Speaker 3: the dudes when she did this. It was Sidney Sweeney
- 26:55Speaker 3: that does it, and everybody's offended or threatened that. by
- 27:00Speaker 3: her body and what, how she's using it and everything else.
- 27:03Speaker 3: And I'm thinking, look, there are how many Instagram influencers
- 27:08Speaker 3: that are Instagram influencers simply because they are gorgeous women
- 27:11Speaker 3: that make a lot of money doing it. Like she
- 27:14Speaker 3: has risen above that.
- 27:15Speaker 2: She is an actress.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I could debate how good of an actress she is
- 27:19Speaker 3: at times. I don't think she's very good, but that's
- 27:21Speaker 3: just my personal preference in shows and movies that I watch,
- 27:25Speaker 3: but she's getting good roles, uh, And she's performing in them.
- 27:29Speaker 3: And on the side, she is basically an international Instagram
- 27:33Speaker 3: influencer that has partnered with companies to market for them
- 27:37Speaker 3: and sell her beauty to them. That's not unlike so
- 27:41Speaker 3: many others. And I don't know how people outraged when
- 27:45Speaker 3: the 22 year old Instagram influencer poses in a bikini,
- 27:49Speaker 3: eating a hamburger for a spot. No, I don't think
- 27:52Speaker 3: they do.
- 27:53Speaker 1: The only outrage with the, with the, with the trans
- 27:55Speaker 1: on Bud Light, right? Like they, That's the thing. They're
- 27:58Speaker 1: trying to spark.
- 27:59Speaker 3: The same movement.
- 28:00Speaker 1: We're getting a totally different type of outrage. They're trying
- 28:03Speaker 1: to spark the same type of movement with this. We
- 28:06Speaker 1: need athletes up there with our scars and blood, sweat,
- 28:08Speaker 1: and tears. By the way, I've heard JT was actually
- 28:12Speaker 1: offended by this. He was upset because he wanted Miranda
- 28:17Speaker 1: Lambert to do this ad.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Is that true? Why do we have to have all
- 28:20Speaker 2: these women that are this big?
- 28:23Speaker 5: Where are our thick ladies in this? Like, I'm actually
- 28:27Speaker 5: offended that we have just a pencil rail thin female.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Give me an example of who you want. Now, hold on.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Hold on a second. Hold on. Hold on a second here, JT. Like,
- 28:38Speaker 3: most of the women that we would reference are that.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Sydney Sweeney ain't no pencil thin female.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Rail thin.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Like she's known.
- 28:45Speaker 2: According to JT standards.
- 28:46Speaker 3: She is, uh, by the Sydney Sweeney. Like I get
- 28:48Speaker 3: what you're saying. Like you want like rebel Wilson before
- 28:51Speaker 3: the weight loss up there on a basketball goal is
- 28:54Speaker 3: what you're saying. But Sydney Sweeney is not exactly known
- 28:57Speaker 3: to be the Pence. She's in great shape, but she's
- 29:00Speaker 3: not known as the skinny rail thin actress that we
- 29:03Speaker 3: would normally associate.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Like I would like Sydney Sweeney a whole lot better
- 29:07Speaker 5: after like a daily dose of McDonald's for a month.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Right. Um, Just my opinion.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Big Mac Sweeney.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Where's the line of demarcation for you? Where does it
- 29:19Speaker 1: go from real thin to JT's size? Well, Miranda Lambert
- 29:22Speaker 1: lost too much.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Weight, right?
- 29:24Speaker 5: She's happily married and has put some of it back on.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I think she looks terrific. She was at the Texas game.
- 29:31Speaker 2: We'll see if we can find a picture of that.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Let's throw that picture up if we can find it too.
- 29:36Speaker 3: And by the way, you do you, Miranda. I'm going
- 29:38Speaker 3: to be a feminist here and say, if you want
- 29:39Speaker 3: to lose weight, great, and you want to show it off, great.
- 29:42Speaker 3: If you want to gain weight and show it off, great.
- 29:44Speaker 3: You do you, honey. Let's go, sister.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Let me say this, too, Chad. I'm with all the
- 29:47Speaker 2: sisters here. Let's go. You asked what the line is.
- 29:49Speaker 2: To me, it's what's inside, right? It's the heart. That matters.
- 29:52Speaker 2: That's what I'm looking for. So thank you guys. Sydney
- 29:55Speaker 2: Sweeney put her full heart into this.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I know that.
- 29:58Speaker 2: She sure did.
- 29:58Speaker 3: To JT's point, I bet a lot of people watched
- 30:00Speaker 3: that Sydney Sweeney ad and said, man, she looks like she's.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Got a great heart. Yeah. I wonder what her personality is.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Do you think a lot of people look at Sydney
- 30:07Speaker 3: Sweeney and, man, golly, you look smart when they see
- 30:10Speaker 3: that ad and see her?
- 30:11Speaker 2: I bet our personalities match, Chad. I bet our personalities match.
- 30:15Speaker 2: It's what they thought. We really get along.
- 30:18Speaker 3: I think she'd swipe right or left.
- 30:21Speaker 2: On me.
- 30:21Speaker 3: I believe she's engaged to Scooter Braun, who was a
- 30:26Speaker 3: big agent, right? He's like Justin Bieber's agent and others.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I think I read that somewhere. I'm not up on
- 30:34Speaker 3: the tabloids.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:35Speaker 3: And who's with who, but I don't know who that is.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I don't know who that is.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Getting a lot of references in. But I think that
- 30:41Speaker 3: she's with Scooter Braun. Someone can confirm that for me
- 30:44Speaker 3: if you find it.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Can't confirm.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I think she's happily in a relationship is my point.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Well, so is he.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Yeah, he's fine.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Doing fine.
- 30:53Speaker 3: And guess what? He sees that ad and he's fine.
- 30:56Speaker 2: He's like, oh, great.
- 30:57Speaker 3: You cut a deal with a company to be a
- 30:58Speaker 3: partner and get equity by doing that? Great job, honey.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Way to go. You be you.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Female empowerment. Female empowerment, guys. We're going to be about
- 31:06Speaker 3: it or not. You got to go all the way
- 31:08Speaker 3: with it. Body positivity goes both ways. So even if
- 31:11Speaker 3: you're hot... You get to show off your body, too,
- 31:13Speaker 3: not just if you're not.
- 31:15Speaker 2: That's right.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Chad, coming up, Hard Rock Bet. The lines are out.
- 31:19Speaker 1: The spreads are out for the SEC upcoming weekend. We
- 31:22Speaker 1: have the power line up straight ahead. We'll go through
- 31:24Speaker 1: the games, which ones we like, which ones we don't.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Big takeaways on who's favored by how much and is
- 31:28Speaker 1: it too much. Just straight ahead here on Hunting with Roe.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Hunting with Roe, we are presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Coming up, we'll give you the SEC power line up,
- 31:37Speaker 1: all the lines that are out for the upcoming weekend. First, though,
- 31:40Speaker 1: here is JT's Power lineup right.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Here.
- 31:46Speaker 3: And by power lineup, we mean the dudes on the
- 31:49Speaker 3: bookend for JT.
- 31:51Speaker 2: The power lineup's all five.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Yeah, power bottoms.
- 31:55Speaker 2: That's right. Hey, there's Miranda. Miranda looks good there. Not
- 31:58Speaker 2: going to lie. She does. She looks great. I just
- 32:03Speaker 2: got to sit. JT, is that too small for JT?
- 32:06Speaker 2: Is that what we're saying?
- 32:08Speaker 3: JT, is she back up in your level now?
- 32:11Speaker 5: Yeah, so there was another picture that I would like
- 32:14Speaker 5: you guys to see instead of that one. I think
- 32:16Speaker 5: this one she was probably sucked in a little bit. But, yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 5: I mean, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I like it.
- 32:24Speaker 3: I'm a JT. I like this better than, like, the
- 32:28Speaker 3: GLP-1 version of a lot of what we've seen.
- 32:33Speaker 2: That's great.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Like, there are some emaciated-looking individuals out there. right now
- 32:39Speaker 3: with that craze. I think Miranda looks great. She's doing
- 32:42Speaker 3: well for herself.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Good job. Good job, Miranda.
- 32:44Speaker 1: JT's more of a Gretchen Wilson than Miranda.
- 32:47Speaker 3: I am no redneck woman. What is Gretchen Wilson doing?
- 32:50Speaker 3: Is she alive?
- 32:52Speaker 2: Yeah, she's alive. I don't know if she's doing anything else.
- 32:54Speaker 2: She's actually been doing party buses like in Nashville.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Like on the bus or she owns them? No, I
- 33:00Speaker 5: think she's on like I've seen videos of her. I
- 33:03Speaker 5: do not follow Gretchen Wilson, just for the record.
- 33:06Speaker 1: She's on the bus? She's driving them?
- 33:08Speaker 2: She's not driving, but she's been a part of the entertainment,
- 33:11Speaker 2: if you could call it that. Oh. Yeah. Grand Ole Opry.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Grand Ole Opry on November 9th.
- 33:17Speaker 3: How about that? Gretchen Wilson, alive and well. I'm trying
- 33:21Speaker 3: to kill less people on the show by inferring that
- 33:23Speaker 3: they're dead when they're not, but I did have to
- 33:25Speaker 3: think for a second. Did Gretchen Wilson die in some
- 33:28Speaker 3: horrific fashion that I'm forgetting about seven years ago? A
- 33:31Speaker 3: lot of times, it's like 2012 to 2015 is that
- 33:35Speaker 3: gray area where people died. And I don't even remember
- 33:38Speaker 3: that they died during that time, and I assume they're
- 33:40Speaker 3: still alive.
- 33:41Speaker 2: 53. You just haven't heard from her in a while, right?
- 33:45Speaker 2: I'm with you. I haven't noticed her. Not in a
- 33:47Speaker 2: bad way.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Does she not still... Pal around with John Rich all
- 33:50Speaker 1: the time? I'm sure she does. She actually was a
- 33:54Speaker 1: performing artist with Brooks and Dunn on tour at Montgomery Gentry.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Is she playing the Fox News version of Bonnaroo or
- 34:02Speaker 3: whatever they have? Yeah, that's what I would refer to
- 34:07Speaker 3: as a Fox News version of Bonnaroo. The Spokane Washington Fair.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Same thing, Foxaroo. That's what she's playing now, probably, performing.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Big time lineup for those. Everyone who goes is over 65.
- 34:18Speaker 3: She's on tour with the Kentucky Headhunters on the fair tour.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Dan Wolkin, by the way, has chimed in on the
- 34:23Speaker 3: Arch Manning controversy, Hutton.
- 34:25Speaker 2: You ready for this? Wonderful. Wonderful, Dan.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Nicole Auerbach says, the laughter from all the men in
- 34:29Speaker 3: the room, dot, dot, dot, so, so gross, was Nicole Auerbach's, okay?
- 34:34Speaker 3: Dan Wolkin retweets Nicole Auerbach. We had to get old
- 34:38Speaker 3: Dan Woken, as Clay calls him. I have an epic
- 34:42Speaker 3: story there we'll get to in a second. Yeah, I
- 34:44Speaker 3: just saw the video in question. Not funny at all.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Giving Arch the benefit of the doubt for being young,
- 34:50Speaker 3: but one day he will look back and want a
- 34:51Speaker 3: do-over on that one.
- 34:53Speaker 1: That from Dan Wolkin. Go ahead, Hunt, with your story. Well,
- 34:56Speaker 1: I'll never forget when Dan Wolkin came on. Now, help
- 34:58Speaker 1: me with the background of what he was trying to...
- 35:02Speaker 1: Was this the... Oh, this was the... This was the
- 35:06Speaker 1: Sciano Sunday show.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it got released through public information. I'll give you
- 35:11Speaker 3: the background quick about what we came on to debate.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I can't stand the guy and his reporting.
- 35:17Speaker 2: It was a Jets beatdown over the Titans. Right.
- 35:19Speaker 3: My whole argument all along was you hate Vols fans
- 35:23Speaker 3: and you are protecting Greg Sciano because your source is,
- 35:30Speaker 3: my gosh, I'm blanking on the athletic director now, the
- 35:32Speaker 3: guy who got fired in the Missile.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Mike Hamilton? No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Uh john curry john curry sorry yeah through a freedom
- 35:40Speaker 3: information act john curry was texting with dan wolkin hey
- 35:44Speaker 3: i need some cover on this our fan base is
- 35:47Speaker 3: a bunch of lunatics i need some help and he's
- 35:49Speaker 3: like ha ha ha yeah you're right your fan base
- 35:51Speaker 3: is crazy it is which is my argument the whole
- 35:53Speaker 3: time you're just simply protecting curry because you're getting info
- 35:56Speaker 3: from curry right well then it got released that he
- 35:58Speaker 3: was in fact doing that and then we invite him
- 36:00Speaker 3: on the show yeah.
- 36:01Speaker 1: I mean chad Absolutely destroyed him in this. I mean,
- 36:05Speaker 1: the back and forth. He was trying to get a
- 36:07Speaker 1: word in. He was spinning in circles the entire time.
- 36:10Speaker 1: We were out at Titans training camp when this took place.
- 36:12Speaker 1: And it was when Chad had the floor. We stepped back,
- 36:16Speaker 1: Chad had the floor, one-on-one with Woken. And Woken, he
- 36:19Speaker 1: woke up and realized he was about matched for what
- 36:22Speaker 1: Chad was.
- 36:23Speaker 3: I pulled, I referenced A Few Good Men because it's
- 36:26Speaker 3: one of my all-time favorite movies.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 36:27Speaker 3: But I A Few Good Men'd him. Just like the
- 36:30Speaker 3: Why the Two Clocks movie. I kept asking him questions like, hey,
- 36:33Speaker 3: if you're a journalist with a capital J, why this?
- 36:37Speaker 2: Why this? Why that?
- 36:37Speaker 3: I just ask questions. that he couldn't answer because he
- 36:40Speaker 3: knew he was wrong, and he tried to talk his
- 36:43Speaker 3: way out of it. Similar to our guy James Franklin.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I know we're about to share a video with that
- 36:47Speaker 3: quickly too. But my guy James Franklin, I asked him
- 36:50Speaker 3: a question that he had no response to. He said
- 36:53Speaker 3: that you are not basically like a champion of life
- 36:56Speaker 3: or a leader. He said you're a real beaut. Yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 3: you're right.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I said if you don't want to be here with.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Us, you're not a– I forget what it was, like
- 37:07Speaker 3: a champion or whatever.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:09Speaker 3: It's something like you're not about the right thing. I said,
- 37:11Speaker 3: you had a guy transfer to Harvard. Is he not
- 37:14Speaker 3: about the right things because he chose Harvard? He's like,
- 37:15Speaker 3: you're a real beaut. You're a real interesting guy. Well,
- 37:18Speaker 3: we found out yesterday, too, what James Franklin Hutton is.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Even if you're on a Zoom and you can't see
- 37:23Speaker 3: him at the press conference, you better respond when he
- 37:26Speaker 3: asks you how you're doing.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I mean, how long did that go?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Baltimore Sun.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Hey, Michael. Hey, Michael.
- 37:33Speaker 3: What do you remember about working?
- 37:35Speaker 2: What do you remember about working alongside? Hey, Michael. How
- 37:38Speaker 2: you doing, Michael? Michael, how you doing?
- 37:44Speaker 3: Can you hear me?
- 37:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm saying how you doing?
- 37:46Speaker 3: Good. How are you? Good.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Good.
- 37:49Speaker 3: What do you remember about working alongside Coach Loxley in
- 37:51Speaker 3: those early years at Maryland, and how has your relationship
- 37:54Speaker 3: evolved since then?
- 37:57Speaker 2: My count was eight of those.
- 37:59Speaker 3: He is so pissed when he's staring down like, why
- 38:02Speaker 3: would this guy not answer me? Michael later, I'm sure
- 38:04Speaker 3: that I hope they had a conversation where they cleared
- 38:07Speaker 3: the air on that. Cause that was such an awkward
- 38:09Speaker 3: back and forth, but Michael's like retweeted and said, Hey
- 38:12Speaker 3: coach doing fine. I'm on a zoom. Sorry. I thought
- 38:15Speaker 3: it was glitching. Cause you kept saying, Hey Michael, over
- 38:19Speaker 3: and over. I can't see what's going on. So when
- 38:21Speaker 3: I hear the, Hey Michael, I think I'm getting a
- 38:22Speaker 3: repeat and that the audio or something is glitching is
- 38:25Speaker 3: why I didn't respond. I didn't know what was going on. I, yeah, I, I,
- 38:30Speaker 3: I think, He's got this weird deal where you can't
- 38:33Speaker 3: tell if he's being funny or not or trying to be.
- 38:36Speaker 1: He's not good at giving that away. But you went
- 38:38Speaker 1: to a wedding with him one time and got along
- 38:40Speaker 1: with him fine. We were best pals at the wedding
- 38:44Speaker 1: where I talked to him.
- 38:45Speaker 2: He was good.
- 38:46Speaker 3: He remembered our show, remembered me asking the question. We
- 38:50Speaker 3: didn't really get into all of that. It just kind
- 38:53Speaker 3: of cleared the air a little bit. He was fine
- 38:55Speaker 3: to deal with. I think he's a good football coach.
- 38:57Speaker 3: I think he's perfect for a job like Virginia Tech
- 38:59Speaker 3: that had fallen on hard times. I think James Franken's
- 39:02Speaker 3: only issue as a coach is He did a great
- 39:05Speaker 3: job at Penn State for a while. It's just getting
- 39:07Speaker 3: to that.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Next, next level. It's the next level.
- 39:09Speaker 3: He's a great rebuilder of image for programs and gets
- 39:12Speaker 3: them to a top 25 level quickly, which I think
- 39:16Speaker 3: he'll do at Virginia Tech. Do I think he's going
- 39:18Speaker 3: to go win, get into the college football playoff for
- 39:21Speaker 3: Virginia Tech? I don't know. I think he's going to
- 39:23Speaker 3: be a top 25 team, though, pretty soon.
- 39:25Speaker 1: I think we just passed the one-year anniversary of the
- 39:27Speaker 1: Penn State-Ohio State game, did we not? Where they had
- 39:32Speaker 1: the wideout and the whole thing. It was week three
- 39:34Speaker 1: or week four, right?
- 39:37Speaker 3: Did he make it that far to that game? Because
- 39:39Speaker 3: they lost at UCLA, and then they lost to Northwestern
- 39:43Speaker 3: at home, and he got fired.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Oh, so it was the week after that. The year before,
- 39:46Speaker 2: I'm thinking of then.
- 39:47Speaker 1: It was The huge matchup, and then they're actually tied,
- 39:52Speaker 1: I think, like 6-6. It was a terrible game. And
- 39:55Speaker 1: then they give up. They throw the picks and all
- 39:56Speaker 1: that stuff. It was just par for the course, is
- 39:59Speaker 1: my point. The big matchups, you just didn't get over
- 40:01Speaker 1: the big hump.
- 40:02Speaker 3: I think the interim coach coached against Ohio State last year,
- 40:05Speaker 3: I believe. JT would probably know better than I. I
- 40:10Speaker 3: think Whiteout has a very different meaning now at Penn
- 40:12Speaker 3: State when we learn about their frat life on campus.
- 40:15Speaker 2: With the story of this offseason.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Let's learn about other lines, the SEC lines. Bet $ 5,
- 40:22Speaker 1: get 100 in bonus bets right now for all customers,
- 40:26Speaker 1: not just new customers. Everybody's going to give new customer
- 40:29Speaker 1: bonus bets. At Hard Rock Bets, you get bonus bets
- 40:32Speaker 1: if you're a current customer as well. Do that at hardrock.bet.clay.
- 40:37Speaker 1: That is hardrock.bet.clay. Hard Rock is Florida's only legal sportsbook,
- 40:42Speaker 1: the most trustworthy option in the marketplace. Also available in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
- 40:47Speaker 1: New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia. And football is back.
- 40:51Speaker 1: The SEC lines are back this week. It is time
- 40:54Speaker 1: for our power lines across the Southeastern Conference. Chad, what
- 40:57Speaker 1: stands out to you here?
- 40:59Speaker 2: Let me ask you this.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Ole Miss, they're a two and a half point underdog
- 41:04Speaker 1: at home. If the game was in Baton Rouge, would
- 41:08Speaker 1: this be seven and a half?
- 41:10Speaker 2: Would you go that high?
- 41:13Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, I think so.
- 41:15Speaker 2: I think that's what they're saying.
- 41:17Speaker 3: So what jumps out at– I'm not going to hard
- 41:21Speaker 3: rock lock this thing yet or anything. I'll go through
- 41:23Speaker 3: more games before I decide. I'm leaning Ole Miss to
- 41:26Speaker 3: win outright against LSU. I just think that they are
- 41:29Speaker 3: more of a finished product right now in the year.
- 41:33Speaker 3: I think LSU's ceiling is higher, but I think right
- 41:36Speaker 3: now where they're getting them, first SEC game on the
- 41:39Speaker 3: road for LSU– Sam Leavitt has had some accuracy issues
- 41:43Speaker 3: and turnover issues at times over his career. I like
- 41:46Speaker 3: Ole Miss in that game. Let's show the other lines.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Our hard rock locks coming up on Thursday. I like
- 41:52Speaker 1: Ole Miss in that.
- 41:53Speaker 3: The other thing that jumps out to me, Hutton, is
- 41:54Speaker 3: I think that Georgia is going to pistol whip Arkansas
- 41:57Speaker 3: in this game. I'm trying to come up with different
- 42:01Speaker 3: verbs to describe what's going to happen. I think they're
- 42:04Speaker 3: going to win by four touchdowns plus, 30 plus points.
- 42:07Speaker 3: I really like Georgia, even with all those points on
- 42:09Speaker 3: the road.
- 42:09Speaker 1: And then we have the matchup Florida at Auburn, two
- 42:12Speaker 1: and a half for the Gators on the road. This
- 42:14Speaker 1: is the matchup of the coach they were talking to
- 42:16Speaker 1: and the coach that they weren't and ended up at
- 42:19Speaker 1: opposite ends of the head coaching jobs here for Auburn
- 42:23Speaker 1: and Florida on who chose which job. I mean, two
- 42:27Speaker 1: and a half for Florida. I mean, Auburn at home,
- 42:31Speaker 1: What's this game like? We haven't heard much from Florida yet.
- 42:35Speaker 1: This is one of those you pay attention to. We're
- 42:36Speaker 1: hearing a lot from John Summerall. Goodness gracious, that guy's
- 42:38Speaker 1: a walking soundbite each week. Now he's saying that if
- 42:41Speaker 1: anybody in his family, he's from Huntsville, Alabama, and his
- 42:44Speaker 1: wife went to Auburn, he said, you hear anything from
- 42:47Speaker 1: anybody in your family?
- 42:47Speaker 3: He's like, well, they're not in my family. They're rooting
- 42:49Speaker 3: for Auburn. He's like, Florida pays my mortgage. So if
- 42:52Speaker 3: they're rooting for Auburn, they're in no family of mine.
- 42:54Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, coach, I like it. Let's get
- 42:56Speaker 3: it going. And then Alex Golish says, oh, we're not
- 42:59Speaker 3: friends this week. Just straight-faced as possible. He's like, John
- 43:03Speaker 3: said that we're friends. And he said, yeah. And he's like, yeah,
- 43:06Speaker 3: not this week. And then he goes to answer the
- 43:07Speaker 3: question about Florida. Golish is a serious dude, is what
- 43:12Speaker 3: I'm finding out. He is a pissed-off-for-greatness type of guy.
- 43:15Speaker 2: All the time. Intense.
- 43:16Speaker 3: All the time.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Intense.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Kentucky on the road at A & M. You say
- 43:21Speaker 1: the pistol weapon. This is one of the games I
- 43:23Speaker 1: leaned Aggies against. But there's always that game that A &
- 43:27Speaker 1: M is really tight. There's a tight window in these
- 43:30Speaker 1: games for one of these opponents you're not expecting. I'm
- 43:33Speaker 1: also thinking that for NC State and Vandy. We'll get
- 43:35Speaker 1: to that in a moment. But, Chad, right now I'm
- 43:38Speaker 1: leading A & M with the points.
- 43:40Speaker 3: By the way, don't let Dan Wolkin know that I
- 43:42Speaker 3: said pistol whipped. I'm sure he'll be outraged by that.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll dare you. By the use of the word.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Nicole Auerbach, too. Please do not let her know that
- 43:49Speaker 3: I said that. I'm sure they're going to have an
- 43:51Speaker 3: issue with that like they did with Arch Manning.
- 43:53Speaker 2: A & M.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Man, that's a tough one. I don't want to touch
- 43:59Speaker 3: that would be my first inclination when we look at
- 44:02Speaker 3: this power board. I will touch Vandy, NC State. Vandy's
- 44:06Speaker 3: going to win that game by a touchdown or more.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I think they're going to get it done at home.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Jared Curtis should get the start. If not, he's going
- 44:14Speaker 3: to play more than Blaise Berlowitz. I think Vandy has
- 44:17Speaker 3: built it to a level where they're going to beat
- 44:18Speaker 3: NC State at home by more than three and a half.
- 44:21Speaker 1: My thing with Vandy, though, is it's more than quarterback
- 44:25Speaker 1: that they're having issues with. The defense as well with
- 44:28Speaker 1: what they're giving up to some of these opponents. Maybe
- 44:30Speaker 1: this is the week they snap in and get it
- 44:32Speaker 1: all corrected. But, I mean, if they push NC State around,
- 44:36Speaker 1: what a statement for Vandy who has been struggling to
- 44:39Speaker 1: get things going out of the gate, and they put
- 44:41Speaker 1: it together against the ACC opponent. Hey, you're Bulldogs, Mississippi
- 44:45Speaker 1: State on the road, getting three and a half.
- 44:48Speaker 2: You're taking that.
- 44:49Speaker 3: That's a huge one. I'm fascinated by that game this week.
- 44:53Speaker 3: And then they get Missouri in Starkville the next week,
- 44:56Speaker 3: I believe, after that. But split those two games, you're
- 44:59Speaker 3: still fine. But if they can win both those games,
- 45:02Speaker 3: then my prediction suddenly starts to look pretty good. I
- 45:05Speaker 3: saw LT, speaking of our next show coming up on
- 45:07Speaker 3: the Sports State Network with Next Round Live, calling a shot,
- 45:11Speaker 3: saying Mississippi State's going to go to Tuscaloosa to win
- 45:13Speaker 3: from what he's seen so far this year. He thinks
- 45:15Speaker 3: State's going to beat Alabama today. in Tuscaloosa this season,
- 45:18Speaker 3: so I like him jumping on board. Brooks Carter, by
- 45:20Speaker 3: the way, talking about Penn State a year ago, they
- 45:22Speaker 3: lost to Oregon in that wideout game.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Oregon.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Then UCLA, then Northwestern, then he was fired. So that
- 45:28Speaker 3: was the sequence.
- 45:29Speaker 1: How is Tennessee only 35-and-a-half against Kennesaw State?
- 45:34Speaker 3: Kennesaw State's, for their level, not bad, but they also
- 45:37Speaker 3: just lost by 17 to Georgia State. I saw this
- 45:40Speaker 3: past week, so maybe not.
- 45:41Speaker 2: As good as people thought. That's a weird line to
- 45:43Speaker 2: be right there.
- 45:44Speaker 3: In their conference.
- 45:44Speaker 2: 35-and-a-half. So far, the Vols have not let me down.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Not let me down.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Is this a look-ahead game, is what they're saying?
- 45:51Speaker 3: I mean, for Tennessee, they've got five guys who are
- 45:53Speaker 3: out for the season now already, which is not ideal,
- 45:56Speaker 3: including their starting tight end after this last game. This
- 45:59Speaker 3: is a get-well game, which means you're probably not going
- 46:02Speaker 3: to see starters for very long. So I think that's
- 46:05Speaker 3: part of the reason. I think Tennessee wins by four
- 46:08Speaker 3: to seven scores in this game.
- 46:12Speaker 1: 35.5 to me feels about right. Oregon's favored by 50
- 46:16Speaker 1: over Portland State. Missouri and Troy, 27.5 there for the Tigers. Oklahoma,
- 46:23Speaker 1: coming off of their loss, you've got 22.5. New Mexico
- 46:28Speaker 1: is who they host. I think they put the beat
- 46:31Speaker 1: down on.
- 46:32Speaker 3: I do.
- 46:32Speaker 1: And Texas and UTSA, 30-and-a-half. So you've got 30-and-a-half, and
- 46:36Speaker 1: Tennessee's at 35-and-a-half against the opponents. Number one, Texas hosting
- 46:40Speaker 1: Tennessee a week from Saturday. I lay the points on these, man.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Here's what I want to see this week, for our purposes, selfishly.
- 46:50Speaker 3: We're going to be in Oxford this weekend. I want
- 46:52Speaker 3: to see a great game between Ole Miss and LSU.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I want to see Tennessee and Texas stay healthy. And
- 46:56Speaker 3: get through this game and win easily. You don't have
- 46:59Speaker 3: to win by 50. Win easily against these two opponents.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Get to undefeated in Knoxville, where we're going to be
- 47:05Speaker 3: for the sport and state tailgate a week from now
- 47:08Speaker 3: or a week from Friday. That's what I want to see.
- 47:10Speaker 1: You can pick a game or multiple games, and you
- 47:12Speaker 1: can put $ 5 on that, and you can get $ 100
