- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off-limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Hey friends, thank you so much for tuning in, and especially for your prayers.
- 0:25And we're getting out there because you are sharing the podcast on all of the multiple
- 0:29platforms, audio, video.
- 0:32So it's a blessing.
- 0:33So we've got our brother, Jonathan Brentner back with us today, author, speaker.
- 0:37He's got a brand new book out.
- 0:38He does great articles.
- 0:40I want to bring him in right now, his website, Jonathan Brentner.com.
- 0:44There it is, our journey home.
- 0:46Love it.
- 0:47Jonathan, so good to have you back with us, brother.
- 0:49Oh, it's so good to be with you again, David.
- 0:52It's so good.
- 0:53Yeah.
- 0:54If I remember right, a year ago, maybe, we almost were able to be at the same event in Wisconsin,
- 1:01a year in Illinois, and there was a men of iron conference, which you spoke at.
- 1:07And I was going to be there, but I had a conflict.
- 1:10I was scheduled to speak at a different church.
- 1:15It wasn't really a prophecy conference, but I was so bummed because it was like, oh,
- 1:21my goodness.
- 1:22It was like less than an hour away from you.
- 1:25And I just really wanted to connect.
- 1:28So let's go back to that.
- 1:29I don't remember if we connected since then.
- 1:31I think we've done a podcast maybe since that time.
- 1:34Could have been in the fall, if I remember right, last fall.
- 1:38So men of iron, you were in Green Bay.
- 1:40How did that go?
- 1:42And what else is happening with your ministry?
- 1:44It went pretty well.
- 1:46I think it went good.
- 1:48It was good to be there.
- 1:49I really liked the pastor of the church.
- 1:52I forget his name right now.
- 1:53David Roth.
- 1:54Yes, he's amazing.
- 1:55David Roth.
- 1:56Yeah.
- 1:57I really liked David Roth.
- 1:58He was a great man of God.
- 1:59And I really enjoyed being at his church and being with the men there.
- 2:03So it went well.
- 2:05I enjoyed the other speakers.
- 2:07And I believe that if I lived in the Green Bay area, I'd go to David Roth's church for
- 2:12sure.
- 2:13It was a great church.
- 2:14Great time.
- 2:15You know what?
- 2:16He's an amazing man of God.
- 2:17That is called one way Christian church, one way Christian church with pastor David Roth.
- 2:23And I admire him because he does not shy away from biblical prophecy, from cultural issues.
- 2:31He tries to get his congregants engaged in the political process, meaning be salt and
- 2:37light in this culture while we have time.
- 2:41And I really admire a lot of what he's doing there.
- 2:43So what else are you going to?
- 2:45You mentioned you're going down to Oklahoma to see our friend, Mando Gonzalez.
- 2:49Tell us about that.
- 2:50Yes.
- 2:51Yes.
- 2:52I am flying down there, which would be probably after this is telecast and June town.
- 2:57I have an interview with him and flying down there on the ninth.
- 3:00And so I'm looking forward to that.
- 3:03Never been the prophecy of watchers are on his show before.
- 3:06So I think it would be a good time.
- 3:07I'm looking forward to it.
- 3:09Awesome.
- 3:10Sure.
- 3:11That would go well.
- 3:12We love Mando.
- 3:13He's going to be back on with us in a few weeks.
- 3:14All right, Jonathan, let's go over to Harbinger's Daily.
- 3:16They're one of our sponsors.
- 3:17I love that ministry.
- 3:18They put out so much good content, videos, articles, commentary.
- 3:25They've got some great people.
- 3:26You and I are blessed to be connected with Harbinger's.
- 3:30You brought before we get into your book.
- 3:32By the way, let's tell everybody what the book is called.
- 3:35And it's over on Amazon.
- 3:36It's called the lavish invitation to a lavish feast.
- 3:40Yeah, we've got to get that up there because I didn't mention that yet.
- 3:44Brand new just last month came out invitation to a lavish feast
- 3:49by Jonathan Brentner.
- 3:50So Jonathan, spiritual warfare.
- 3:52I wanted to talk about this because you wrote this article
- 3:55because I've been trying to drive this point home as well.
- 3:59There's so much going on in manifesting in the natural,
- 4:03in the physical realm.
- 4:05But people have to understand this demonic spiritual warfare.
- 4:09The battle that's happening, underlying all these different
- 4:13movements and agendas and the darkness
- 4:16that we're seeing, the forces of darkness as Ephesians 6 puts it.
- 4:21So tell us about this.
- 4:23Spiritual warfare is the driving force behind the headlines.
- 4:26But most of the church is unaware.
- 4:30A lot of people aren't aware.
- 4:31But when you say most of the church, that is sobering.
- 4:34Tell us more about your perspective here.
- 4:37Okay, what I wrote that because so many pastors are also unaware
- 4:42and they're not telling their congregations about what's
- 4:45really happening in the spiritual warfare.
- 4:48That is most evident today is Satan's drive to destroy
- 4:53the people of Israel, the nation of Israel.
- 4:56And I briefly go through what happened in the New Old
- 4:59House to them.
- 5:00Their Satan tried to wipe out the Israeli nation
- 5:05because they wanted to stop Jesus' birth
- 5:08of the Messiah who would redeem mankind, who would defeat Satan.
- 5:14And once Satan foiled at that, now he's become even more
- 5:21intense in attacking the Jewish people Israel.
- 5:25Because he realizes that since 1948, prophecy is becoming
- 5:30alive as never before since the birth of Jesus.
- 5:33And it points to his end times.
- 5:35And it just shows, and I try to show how really Satan is
- 5:40again trying to destroy the nation of Israel because he knows
- 5:44the end that Jesus returns to a redeemed Israel, to a
- 5:49repentant Israel who will be looking for his return at the end
- 5:53of days.
- 5:54And so he trying to stop that.
- 5:56And along with that, he's trying to wipe out mankind
- 5:59because he knows that if there's no mankind, no Israel by
- 6:04the end of the tribulation, then Jesus has no kingdom to
- 6:08establish on your, no Jewish nation that he got's promises
- 6:13too.
- 6:14And so he's trying to stop all those things, but just as he
- 6:17failed earlier, he will fail again.
- 6:20So you mentioned Matthew 24 and the days of Noah when Jesus
- 6:25said, so will be the coming of the Son of man, there's
- 6:29going to be everyone's be carrying along, carrying on, living
- 6:33as if nothing is really happening, eating, drinking,
- 6:36marrying, giving and marriage, until judgment came, and the
- 6:41flood came and swept them away, I want to just read the
- 6:44first paragraph of the article is, it is excellent in my
- 6:49opinion.
- 6:49So Jonathan, you write, despite the 24 seven access to world
- 6:55events at times, as soon as they happen, most people have no
- 6:59idea what's happening behind the scenes. It's
- 7:04understandable that those outside of Christ are oblivious to
- 7:09the unseen spiritual warfare that's driving much of what we
- 7:13see. Sadly, this same unawareness typifies the majority of
- 7:19those who attend church on any given Sunday. And friends,
- 7:23that's, I agree with Jonathan, 100%, that's where we need to
- 7:26wake up ourselves, be discerning, be informed, not
- 7:31overwhelmed by the headlines, but be informed from the
- 7:33biblical perspective, having our feet firmly planted in the
- 7:37truth of the word of God, but seeing what's happening and
- 7:40discerning, understanding the times and not being caught off
- 7:44guard, like you indicate a lot of people are your quick
- 7:48thoughts on that, and then we'll dive into your book.
- 7:51Um, yes, you know, I compare the start of the
- 7:54tribulation period to know as day, because that was another
- 7:57time of judgment that God was warning about that we come up
- 8:00on the earth. And now he's warning about another time of
- 8:04judgment, which we know is a tribulation period that's
- 8:07coming. And so the two are equal there. And I believe that
- 8:10Jesus command to watch therefor is really for the rapture
- 8:14because that's what's going to set off the end times that will
- 8:17lead to the tribulation period. Okay, let's dive into the
- 8:21book, brand new, hot off the presses, we can say, um, the
- 8:27title invitation to a lavish feast. So I know we'll be feasting
- 8:33in banqueting and and there's a pretty big table in God's
- 8:36kingdom. Jonathan, what is the feast that awaits us? And
- 8:40why did you write this book now? Okay, um, the title of the book
- 8:45really came from Proverbs 9, where you have, um, wisdom
- 8:50which just really personifies Jesus is, um, offering his
- 8:55lavish banquet of feast for people and calling out her young
- 8:59maidens to go out and invite people. And for me, that
- 9:03typifies just the the fact that what lies ahead isn't just
- 9:08spiritual blessings that we know there's going to be the the
- 9:12very separate of the lamb. And we know Isaiah 26 talks about
- 9:17another feast that will happen. I believe sometime after
- 9:20the feast of the lamb, although some people think it is the
- 9:23the very feast of the lamb, but there's going to be physical
- 9:27benefits. We're going to have brand new bodies. We're going to
- 9:30have senses that will be much more aware of colors,
- 9:35mills, sites and everything you can imagine. And so there's
- 9:39so much to look forward to. And so yes, there are spiritual
- 9:44blessings, but they're also physical blessings. And I
- 9:47wanted to emphasize the physical aspect of what lies ahead
- 9:51for us, because that is so ignored in churches today. Amen,
- 9:56brother. And you mentioned Philippians 3, 2021. And the
- 10:00scripture refers to the marriage supper of the lamb and the
- 10:03end that we will celebrate with immortal bodies that will
- 10:07resemble our Savior. Tell us more about that.
- 10:11Yes, that is probably one of the more overlooked passages
- 10:15in the entire Bible, along with Corinthians 15, 51 and 55.
- 10:19Yes. Actually, I can't remember a sermon that I've heard
- 10:24in for many, many years that really talked about the fact that
- 10:27we'll have immortal bodies, incorruptible that that'll be
- 10:32sinless. It's just it's an amazing hope, but it's so quiet.
- 10:37The church has not talked about that. And it's one of the reasons
- 10:40why I wanted to write this book. I wanted to give a robust
- 10:45defense of what we believe about the about pre-millennialism.
- 10:50I hope that Jesus comes first church after time of tribulation,
- 10:55but before the millennium establishes his kingdom. And then
- 10:59before that, he comes for us and gives us these these incorruptible
- 11:04bodies that it's an amazing hope. I just it just boggles my
- 11:08mind. I think churches should be shouting it from the rough
- 11:11tops that's actually incredible. I know, especially for us,
- 11:15brother, and I say us as we're getting older and we have more
- 11:18health issues and you know, these bodies weren't meant to last forever
- 11:23and thank God for that promise of new resurrected bodies.
- 11:28And I love for Corinthians 15. I mean, the whole chapter is
- 11:33amazing. It starts off with the gospel and then the evidence of
- 11:36eyewitnesses, the appearances and then it talks about the immortal bodies
- 11:40that death is conquered. Thanks God for the victory in Christ. But let's get back
- 11:46to the content of your book. What are the three components
- 11:53of Biblically Sound teaching that you derive from your study of wisdom in the
- 11:57Book of Proverbs? Okay, well, the first one is that
- 12:03our wisdom derives from the words of scripture. What we believe is
- 12:06based on the words of scripture. And you see that emphasize
- 12:10throughout the book of of Proverbs, especially in Proverbs 2 and 8
- 12:16in those places where you see wisdom communicates to us
- 12:20and via the words of scripture. So that is the first house. That's the first
- 12:25component of what we believe it has to align with the words of scripture.
- 12:29And the other is it exalts the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 12:34And we see that in Proverbs wisdom is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the
- 12:41personification of wisdom. There are points to him.
- 12:44And the words of the words that he communicates to us
- 12:47exalt him. And it started actually when I was reading Colossians
- 12:541, 15 to 20 about Jesus' preeminence. And I thought, oh my,
- 13:00this supports what I believe about pre-millennialism. And we can get into that
- 13:04if we have time. Sure. And the other one is also the
- 13:10component of it aligns with God's character. What scripture reveals about him.
- 13:15And actually, we learn a lot about God's character in the Book of
- 13:19Proverbs as well as the Book of Psalms. They tell us so much about God.
- 13:24And we learn so much about him. And as I illustrate throughout the book,
- 13:29what we believe about the Lord's return for us in about his kingdom is
- 13:36true to God's character, especially that of restoring a kingdom to Israel.
- 13:42Yeah, after our break, Jonathan, we're going to talk about some of these
- 13:45popular teachings today that misrepresent scripture and the lavish feast.
- 13:49So I'll give you an opportunity to break those down when we come back. But I want
- 13:52to go back to 1 Corinthians 15 and allow you to clarify something.
- 13:57Why is it so important for us to understand that we are
- 13:59heirs to a kingdom rather than possessors of a kingdom?
- 14:06Yes, that is so critical because it speaks or hoping what
- 14:10and what this kingdom is. And the most popular teachings in the church today are
- 14:15that the churches of kingdom were already possessing it. We're not
- 14:19heirs to it. But as all starts out there in 1 Corinthians 15,
- 14:2350, he says that that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
- 14:30And that would be a problem apart from what he continues to tell us in that
- 14:35and that he has made us fit for a kingdom. He will make us fit for the kingdom by
- 14:40giving us some mortal and incorruptible bodies. And so in our current state,
- 14:45we can't inherit the kingdom, but someday we will inherit the kingdom.
- 14:50And there are so many people who all I should say pastors who try to get around that
- 14:55by all kinds of crazy things saying that, well, you know, 1 Corinthians 15, 51 and 55,
- 15:02you know, happens at the moment of every generation. Therefore, we are part of the kingdom now.
- 15:07But no, that's actually rather heretical to say that. I believe that's just impossible.
- 15:13We're heirs to a kingdom. We have so much to look forward to. And that's part
- 15:18of the lavish faith that that's coming for us as believers. Amen, brother. Yeah,
- 15:23we have got a lot more to talk about with Jonathan Brentner. We'll be right back on World

- 16:33Love Freedom Project. Jonathan Brentner, the book is called invitation to a lavish
- 16:40feast. Following wisdom's path to the pre-tribulation rapture, I didn't mention the subtitle.
- 16:47That's pretty important, isn't it, Jonathan? Yes, it is because I want to emphasize that
- 16:53that the end of the path leads us to our hope, good pre-tribulation rapture. Amen.
- 16:58So let's talk about some of those popular teachings. Unfortunately, they are popular
- 17:05that misrepresent this lavish feast that awaits us. What do you want to start with?
- 17:11Okay, well, you know, the whole premise of replacement theology,
- 17:16ameladialism, the fact that there is no millennium really begin with Augustine
- 17:22and then the beginning of the 5th century popularized the idea. And one of the things that
- 17:28one of the big influences for Augustine was Plato, who briefly Plato believed that
- 17:37all matter was evil. The material world was evil. Only the immaterial world, the spiritual
- 17:43matter was good. The spiritual world was good. And so Augustine was greatly influenced by him,
- 17:51in fact, and one of the quotes that I have on the book, I believe, is that he believed that
- 17:58if there wasn't for the aspect of feast in the millennium, he might be able to accept it,
- 18:03but he just could deal with the fact that there might be carnal feast in the millennium.
- 18:08I'm thinking, how in the world can you think that? If Jesus, if we're there in our glorified
- 18:15bodies, and Jesus is putting on the feast, how in the world could it be carnal?
- 18:20That's right. You know, I don't know, but he's regarded as a great theologian, but he really
- 18:27missed the boat on that. We have, we have much to look forward to. And I think that even today's
- 18:34prosperity gospel people, they missed the boat too because they they want us to think that we get
- 18:42a lot of the material and health benefits now. Now, of course, there are a wide variety of
- 18:47experiences that believers go through and some are very much blessed, health-wise and materially.
- 18:54Others are not, but even if you're a rich person, have everything in good health,
- 19:02eternity is still going to be so much better than this life. And most believers are not quite in that
- 19:07category. So Jonathan, one other thing, I know we're we've got to move around fast here.
- 19:14And first, I'm sorry, in Colossians chapter one, I love that chapter, really highlights the
- 19:20deity of Jesus Christ. Paul explains Jesus preeminent over all things. How does this passage
- 19:29discredit some of the more prevalent views of the second coming? Okay, well, if you, if you look
- 19:36at what basically the replacement of theologians believe, which is very popular in churches,
- 19:43you know, they believe is that this distant return of the Lord after the church age, you know,
- 19:49just at the very end of time, he wraps up history, judges the sinners and inaugurates the eternal
- 19:56state. But that so much takes away from the way that John describes the second coming in
- 20:04Revelation 19 and 20, as this big spectacular glorious of that. Every time I read that, I'm just
- 20:11amazed by how how amazing that eventual be. And earlier in your book of Revelation, John says,
- 20:17every I will see him returning. And Jesus even describes that, you know, this glorious,
- 20:25this glorious return and to make it some end of the age event just doesn't work. And also one
- 20:32of the things that's really popular today is called dominion theology or new apostolic
- 20:40reformation. You know, they believe that the church is going to bring in the millennium. Jesus
- 20:46is just going to be basically an observer to what the church does. And with Jesus returning
- 20:53after the millennium. And again, that's so discredits the preeminence of Jesus. You know, this
- 21:00bread of Revelation is all about him. And one of the highlights of the book is his return.
- 21:06In the preterists also do the same thing. A lot of them say, well, I think all of them say that
- 21:13Jesus returned in AD 70 and that fulfilled the second coming. Some say it was a spiritual return,
- 21:21some say that people had a vision of cherry is clashing in the skies and that somehow was Jesus
- 21:29return. But again, that falls far short of how John describes Jesus return and defeating
- 21:37of Satan's kingdom, establishing his own. And just the way that John describes it so well
- 21:43coincides with what Paul wrote about Jesus preeminence there in Colossians as well as in
- 21:51Philippians too. Love those verses. Philippians too. That was a great hymn in the early church
- 21:58where it builds up to Jesus, the name above every name, at his name, every needle bow, every
- 22:04tumble confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of the glory of God the Father. Got to move quickly,
- 22:08John, if then you have a chapter that I would just want to ask you what this is about, a rabbi
- 22:13and English theologian and Israel. Sounds like the beginning of a joke, but I know it's not.
- 22:18Tell us about that. Well, there was this rabbi who lived in the early 1600s, about 100 years after
- 22:27the Reformation and his name was Minnesota, Ben, Israel. And he actually fled to the Netherlands to
- 22:35escape to Spanish in position in Spain. And once he was there, he decided that well, he better
- 22:43reach out to some Protestant theologians to make sure that, you know, they weren't going to turn
- 22:49against the Jews either. And so he reached out to a guy named Isaac Perry in England, a French
- 22:56theologian who was living in England at the time and reached out to him and the English theologian
- 23:02responded that yes, there's many of us here who believe that the land of Israel belongs to the
- 23:09people to the Jewish people. And we believe that someday that they're going to return to it.
- 23:16And it started a friendship in Manasseb and Israel actually wrote a book about the Jews returning
- 23:25to their land and why in the biblical basis for it, which the English Protestants of that day
- 23:33actually published in English with with a forward to it. And some of the English theologians
- 23:41began, you know, collecting money to help the Jewish people return to the land of Israel.
- 23:47And it's so amazing that just 100 years after the Reformation that pre-millennialism was alive
- 23:55and well in Israel. And it shows that, you know, that the basis of getting back to scripture,
- 24:03which highlighted the Reformation, it didn't take the Reformers to pre-millennialism,
- 24:08but it opened the door to it. And I was like Perry, he mentioned the fact that, you know,
- 24:16having the Bible on our own language helped. And so the Reformers that having the Bible on their
- 24:22own language really led to a revival pre-millennialism after the Reformation.
- 24:28Interesting. Very interesting. Now, I love one of these verses in scripture. I'm a breakfast person.
- 24:34I love it when Jesus was resurrected on the shore and said, Hey, friends, come and have breakfast.
- 24:41That's really a Bible. That's really a scripture, friends. Jesus said that. And he said,
- 24:45a spirit does not have flesh and bone as you see I have. So we're going to have real new
- 24:50resurrected bodies. And apparently we're going to be able to eat in heaven. So am I assuming
- 24:57that about this feast? Tell us more about that because a lot of people say, wonder what kind of
- 25:01food we'll be eating? Well, it's all going to be good if it's this feast in heaven where we get to
- 25:06just be with our Savior. Tell us a little bit more about that in the last minute or two.
- 25:10Okay. Well, you know, it's hard to describe the food we've been having when you think that what
- 25:16we eat today is very different from what the believers in the first century are during
- 25:21the believers and the middle ages. And so it remains a mystery. But I think that it'll be good.
- 25:27And when it talks about the Lord preparing a feast in Isaiah 26, it talks about the high
- 25:35quality of the food and the wine that will be served at that time. So it'll be high quality.
- 25:41It'll be good wine. And we'll be able to enjoy it. And I think that it just adds to the hope
- 25:47that we have. And one of the things that I strive to do in the book is to make to make the theology
- 25:54of it very practical. You know, I talk about things about the day of the Lord and his intervening.
- 26:01But then I talk about well, why does it matter to believers as they get up and go about their day?
- 26:07I talk a little bit about how the fear of the Lord repairs, you know,
- 26:11points us to the Lord's return. But I also have a chapter about how the fear of the Lord

- 26:48but just minor ones and pray for that. And I get my voice back fully in that here with lead as I get
- 26:56in over the interviews and maybe possible speaking on events that the Lord will just lead and
- 27:02open doors for me and give me wisdom too and guide me. You got it brother, friends pray for Jonathan
- 27:09and his ministry. So blessed to have you back on congrats on the new book. You always write
