- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up
- 0:05Speaker 1: Good next.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way, it's Sonia
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm officially back from Taipei. Joakim's going to join us
- 0:17Speaker 1: in just a second, but cannot believe it's down to
- 0:20Speaker 1: the last few days of October, exam season. Here's wishing
- 0:23Speaker 1: you all the best. Pink Sweat's coming up first on
- 0:26Speaker 1: the show. Don't go anywhere. Singapore's number 1 hit music station.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Back together after I think what, like, was it a
- 0:35Speaker 1: week and a half of us either being sick or
- 0:38Speaker 1: being on leave?
- 0:40Speaker 2: It was that.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It was really that,
- 0:41Speaker 1: right?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yes. So how was Taiwan, Taipei Taipei,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, yeah, um, I only went to Taipei
- 0:48Speaker 1: this time around. The last time I went, I went
- 0:50Speaker 1: to two places, but both times I went and got typhoon.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm starting to think I'm the problem. It's
- 0:55Speaker 2: a
- 0:55Speaker 1: sign.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I'll tell you about my trip later on, maybe after
- 0:59Speaker 1: 7:00 a.m. or something. Saw some
- 1:01Speaker 2: pictures, but anyway, hey, don't forget today we have a
- 1:04Speaker 2: very nice $100 Little Farms voucher coming your
- 1:08Speaker 2: way.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Oh, I love going to Little Farms
- 1:10Speaker 2: actually. And they've got some very special Italian meats lined
- 1:13Speaker 2: up for you.
- 1:14Speaker 1: So I, I, whenever I walk past Little Farms, um,
- 1:17Speaker 1: the one over at Valley Point, I mean they've got
- 1:20Speaker 1: a few Little Farms outlets now.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I mean, I always go and look at how perfect
- 1:25Speaker 1: the fruits and vegetables are. Like they literally look different
- 1:27Speaker 1: level perfect. I don't know how to explain, but it's
- 1:30Speaker 1: one of those like, you want an atta supermarket experience,
- 1:32Speaker 1: this is it.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Just a very weird image of you walking into farms
- 1:36Speaker 1: admiring the fruits and vegetables. I literally have done that,
- 1:39Speaker 1: you know, I went there just to take photos of it,
- 1:41Speaker 1: that face,
- 1:41Speaker 2: not bad.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Hm wow, very good, very round,
- 1:48Speaker 1: she
- 1:48Speaker 2: walks out.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Clearly you are not the one that does the grocery shopping.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I mean between you and your mom, it's definitely your mom.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I
- 1:55Speaker 2: just pick the best pack in front of me.
- 1:58Speaker 1: That's true. I might not trust you when it comes
- 1:59Speaker 1: to these things.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I've lost count of the amount of times that Nicole
- 2:03Speaker 1: Kidman has been in presence in the presence of people
- 2:07Speaker 1: and and events when this song was like the theme
- 2:10Speaker 1: song of the event and everyone just looks at her.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm very sure. So cute,
- 2:13Speaker 2: honestly, and she just does the whole Nicole Kidman thing,
- 2:16Speaker 2: which
- 2:17Speaker 1: is exist looking hot.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Exactly. And dare I say it, Sonia, I'm, I'm logged
- 2:24Speaker 2: on to haze.gov.sg.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah, what did I miss? I mean, I left Singapore
- 2:28Speaker 1: when the Haze was still.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You know, there, went into a, you know, typhoon season
- 2:34Speaker 1: in Taipei, and now I'm back. It's actually, I don't
- 2:37Speaker 1: jinx it, but it looks pretty clear.
- 2:42Speaker 2: OK,
- 2:43Speaker 1: so I was keeping up with that
- 2:44Speaker 2: featuring and all that, hey.
- 2:46Speaker 2: The 24 hour PSI is in the green. The PSI
- 2:50Speaker 2: forecast for today is 60 to 90 and the 1
- 2:54Speaker 2: hour PM 2.5 readings, it's a very low two-digit number.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Almost across all regions.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Lovely. Yes, this, this is very good news. And
- 3:04Speaker 2: looking
- 3:04Speaker 2: at the hotspot map.
- 3:06Speaker 2: It's not as dense as it looks or as it
- 3:09Speaker 2: looked the last
- 3:10Speaker 2: few days.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I think I saw, I thought I saw a video
- 3:13Speaker 1: of Indonesia and I mean I feel so much for
- 3:19Speaker 1: the workers, you know, the workers that have been doing
- 3:22Speaker 1: this over time and risking their health and their lives
- 3:24Speaker 1: as well. The
- 3:25Speaker 2: firefighters and the volunteer firefighters
- 3:27Speaker 1: as well. They were like dropping to their knees in relief.
- 3:30Speaker 1: As the rain came down, you can really feel the love.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Let's see and
- 3:44Speaker 1: then we all benefit. Where in the world is he
- 3:45Speaker 1: now with his tour? Is he still in Australia or no?
- 3:54Speaker 2: No, that was that was. Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Where, where is he now?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Performing in Hong Kong very
- 3:57Speaker 1: soon,
- 3:58Speaker 2: for I think 3 more nights because I think he
- 4:01Speaker 2: had 4 nights in Hong Kong. Sorry, no, 3 nights
- 4:04Speaker 2: in Hong Kong, then he's going to KL for 3
- 4:08Speaker 2: nights as well.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Oh, so he went from Singapore to Hong Kong, then
- 4:11Speaker 1: he comes back to our area again.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Apparently he has an afternoon show.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Oh, like a matinee show. Interesting, yeah, interesting.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Anyway, thanks for joining us here this morning. We're finally
- 4:21Speaker 1: reunited after what seems to be quite some time. Speaking
- 4:25Speaker 2: of shows and all that, I want to say congratulations
- 4:27Speaker 2: to the President's challenge, raising over $11 million as of
- 4:34Speaker 2: Sunday night.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Uh, we saw President Taman on the Compang, Zoey doing.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Rishi Budwani dancing with Avant
- 4:43Speaker 2: Gadi.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I mean, that's not one on my bingo card.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Things I never ever thought I'd see. Well done, Rishi.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Well done.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure you can catch the replay very soon.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Usually they'll do it like next weekend, right?
- 4:57Speaker 2: I donations are ongoing till November 1st.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, there's no donation too big or small
- 5:05Speaker 1: like we always say. So if you're able to contribute
- 5:08Speaker 1: in any form of way, yeah, do
- 5:10Speaker 2: it. And I believe loads of parents and grandparents were
- 5:12Speaker 2: really happy to see you.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Me, me, no,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I don't think it was my parents' choice of music. OK.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Somehow I
- 5:26Speaker 2: know the song. Yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 1: yeah, yeah, yeah. But we know that you grew up on,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you know, your dad exposing you to a lot of
- 5:33Speaker 1: older music.
- 5:34Speaker 2: At this point, I can be the music history teacher
- 5:36Speaker 2: of 987. At
- 5:38Speaker 1: this point, you are your dad.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Where's the light?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Minus the belly.
- 5:43Speaker 1: So I was just catching up on some random news
- 5:45Speaker 1: that I might have missed over the past few days,
- 5:48Speaker 1: because all I was seeing was news about the typhoon
- 5:50Speaker 1: back where I was in Taipei, right? Which I'll fill
- 5:53Speaker 1: you in about my trip later on after 7 or
- 5:55Speaker 1: 8 a.m. But I, I saw this piece of news
- 5:58Speaker 1: and I thought to myself, when was the last time
- 6:00Speaker 1: I even held a plank? I don't know if you
- 6:02Speaker 1: read about the woman that broke her own planking record.
- 6:06Speaker 1: If not, I'll tell you about it in just a
- 6:08Speaker 1: while.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yes,
- 6:11Speaker 1: not the, not the internet trend from 10 years ago
- 6:14Speaker 1: or something, no no no no no no no. Which
- 6:16Speaker 1: was that 10 years ago?
- 6:18Speaker 1: The one where people when they say plank, they basically
- 6:20Speaker 1: lie face down at a dangerous or unusual place mannequin
- 6:24Speaker 1: yeah yeah yeah yeah. OK, mannequin challenge, was it as
- 6:28Speaker 1: dangerous as the planking challenge? OK, people got hurt,
- 6:34Speaker 2: right? Or the mannequin challenge, some of it was wholesome,
- 6:36Speaker 2: some of it was very dangerous.
- 6:38Speaker 1: OK. Anyway, this one is the fitness planking, but find
- 6:42Speaker 1: out what this woman did and how she broke her
- 6:45Speaker 1: own record, her own planking record at the age of 61, joking. Now,
- 6:50Speaker 1: if you're tuning in and you're into fitness, or rather
- 6:53Speaker 1: you try to work out once in a while just to,
- 6:56Speaker 1: you know, keep your fitness levels up or maintained, how
- 6:59Speaker 1: long can you hold a plank for?
- 7:01Speaker 1: A proper plank.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It's
- 7:03Speaker 1: not with your knees.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's the longest minute of my life.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Right, right. OK. So you would agree that plan, a
- 7:11Speaker 1: proper plank, 1 to 2 minutes is already quite a challenge,
- 7:15Speaker 2: 40 mark.
- 7:17Speaker 2: My entire body
- 7:18Speaker 1: trembling, right? Yeah, yeah. So, um, I mean, I have
- 7:21Speaker 1: done this for fun before for some like street side, um,
- 7:25Speaker 1: like the, like a, like a roadshow event, some sort
- 7:28Speaker 1: of a fitness thing, and then they say, oh, like,
- 7:30Speaker 1: you know, it's just a challenge for the host to
- 7:31Speaker 1: like also plank.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And I think I, I, I did like 2.5 minutes.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I gave up. I stopped. I stopped, I stopped. I
- 7:37Speaker 1: was just like, dude guys, I'm like also not in
- 7:39Speaker 1: workout wear.
- 7:41Speaker 2: That's 2.5 minutes longer than the next person. So well done, Sonia.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But you know what, it's, it's not easy at all.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So in comes this woman who is 61 years old,
- 7:51Speaker 1: could be our parents' age, to be honest. Your mom.
- 7:54Speaker 1: about there, right? Could
- 7:55Speaker 2: be a very young grandma. She's
- 7:57Speaker 1: a grandma. She's a grandma of 12, by the way. Yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: she has 4 kids and she has like 12 grandkids
- 8:03Speaker 1: if I'm not wrong. Yeah, if I'm not wrong, I
- 8:05Speaker 1: read her story somewhere. Yeah, mother of 4, grandmother of 12.
- 8:08Speaker 1: That's a dynasty right there. A retired high school vice principal,
- 8:13Speaker 1: she broke her own planking record.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Um, and she's officially clocked in a time of about
- 8:20Speaker 1: 5 hours, Joakim.
- 8:23Speaker 1: 5-hour long plank. Is that even humanly possible? She has
- 8:27Speaker 1: just proven all of us wrong. Her previous record was
- 8:31Speaker 1: about 4.5 hours, and she broke her own
- 8:35Speaker 2: record. The mental strength that requires, well done to you.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Her name is Donna Jean Wild. Congratulations.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Crazy. Um, so her story is that she started planking
- 8:47Speaker 1: daily after she had a wrist injury about 15.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Years ago, and she's a fitness enthusiast, OK. So she,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I guess it's the kind that cannot sit still. She
- 8:55Speaker 1: discovered that she could still plank with her cast on
- 8:57Speaker 1: despite her wrist injury. So she fell in love with,
- 9:01Speaker 1: you know, planking as a habit and she started doing
- 9:03Speaker 1: it every day. She'll multitask while planking for hours every
- 9:07Speaker 1: single day. She wrote a book. She did a master's
- 9:10Speaker 1: degree while she was planking. She would read, reply texts,
- 9:14Speaker 1: do her schoolwork and everything.
- 9:15Speaker 1: It's like next level productive Jo Kim.
- 9:18Speaker 2: That is one way to get your mind off the
- 9:19Speaker 2: pain for almost 5 hours straight, congratulations to her. So
- 9:25Speaker 1: it seems like she has built a community and she's
- 9:28Speaker 1: been an inspiration to like seniors. So, um, she's built
- 9:32Speaker 1: a community of athletes who are above the age of
- 9:35Speaker 1: 50 that went to support her at the, you know, uh,
- 9:39Speaker 1: book of records breaking, uh, situation.
- 9:42Speaker 1: And I think she has found a community with over
- 9:45Speaker 1: 12,000 athletes aged 50 and above.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I'm very sure she will start launching those like maybe
- 9:50Speaker 2: under her name Donna Jean Wild planking boards or the
- 9:54Speaker 2: planking workout.
- 9:55Speaker 1: That's the thing, I don't think you even need anything. Yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 2: you don't need,
- 9:58Speaker 2: but there's actually a planking board with different holes, right.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It exercises different parts
- 10:04Speaker 2: of your arm,
- 10:06Speaker 1: OK, I see, I see. Well, she's definitely an inspiration
- 10:10Speaker 1: and I think, you know, if she ever did a
- 10:12Speaker 1: world tour or a talk or something, Singapore is a
- 10:15Speaker 1: stop that she should, you know, come for. Oh for sure.
- 10:18Speaker 1: We have so many seniors here and they're trying to
- 10:20Speaker 1: like get the seniors to be more active in Singapore,
- 10:23Speaker 2: sponsored by Active SG maybe
- 10:24Speaker 2: this talk.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Exactly. If you're tuning in right now, we just want
- 10:27Speaker 1: to wish you.
- 10:28Speaker 1: All the best for your exams. I believe we've got
- 10:31Speaker 1: humanities today, right? If you're in a secondary school or
- 10:33Speaker 1: maybe even IB,
- 10:35Speaker 2: history, geography, literature, and whoever's doing, if I'm not wrong,
- 10:40Speaker 2: pure chem, all the best.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Is there for primary school non PSLE there's still some
- 10:46Speaker 1: exams going on if I'm not wrong. Yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 2: but
- 10:48Speaker 2: it should be more or less over pretty much over.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Oh really? OK, OK. Regardless if you are.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Taking an exam or a test today. We wish you
- 10:56Speaker 1: all the best, sending you love and positive energy. You're
- 10:59Speaker 1: gonna kill it. It's gonna be good.
- 11:01Speaker 2: OK lah. During my combined science day back in O levels,
- 11:06Speaker 2: I kind of knew that instead of I kill it,
- 11:08Speaker 2: it killed me.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Oh no, OK, don't, don't adopt Joakim's attitude towards this. OK,
- 11:14Speaker 1: but I think he, he's coming from a point of
- 11:16Speaker 1: view where he was on the way to school and
- 11:18Speaker 1: he knew it was too late.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Especially for physics, all the formulas went down the drain. OK,
- 11:24Speaker 1: follow me, follow me, OK. Positive energy, you're gonna score well.
- 11:28Speaker 2: What's the formula for, please?
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know, I'm, I'm still learning about that in life
- 11:33Speaker 1: actually in this day and age, but all the best
- 11:36Speaker 1: if you're taking an exam today.
- 11:38Speaker 2: So with the BCRS machines and all that, wow,
- 11:40Speaker 1: it has, it has been a
- 11:43Speaker 1: Because of like big contention and uh I would say
- 11:48Speaker 1: conversation over the past few days.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm very happy to report that I've collected a total
- 11:51Speaker 2: of $4. OK, from the BCRS that's close to about
- 11:55Speaker 2: 40 bottles and cans of mostly tea. I
- 11:58Speaker 1: mean, I don't know you know. I saw um this
- 12:01Speaker 1: piece of news about this woman who had like over
- 12:03Speaker 1: 20 cans or bottles or something and she was holding
- 12:05Speaker 1: up the whole line.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And it kind of like sparked off a conversation about
- 12:10Speaker 1: whether or not if you see someone with one or two,
- 12:12Speaker 1: you should just let that person go. I would, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 1: I would too, but she didn't want to, right? Something
- 12:17Speaker 1: like that, I
- 12:18Speaker 2: forgot. OK, I don't know what the real story is,
- 12:20Speaker 2: but it's always that person who seems to make the
- 12:22Speaker 2: news
- 12:22Speaker 2: Anyway, is it, uh, what's happening over at Jurong is
- 12:26Speaker 2: again it's becoming a very common sight, right, where your
- 12:29Speaker 2: aunties and uncles, some of them will actually rummage through
- 12:32Speaker 2: the bins to take out cans and bottles to put
- 12:35Speaker 2: it in the BCRS machine. Again, in parliament, it's been
- 12:39Speaker 2: said already it is against the law and our friends
- 12:43Speaker 2: over at NEA will do their best to enforce it,
- 12:45Speaker 2: but
- 12:46Speaker 2: Who's gonna enforce it against the aunties and uncles
- 12:50Speaker 2: who might need it more than we do.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's, it's a lot of the seniors that are
- 12:54Speaker 1: doing it, which to them when I see some of
- 12:57Speaker 1: these pictures and you know, of them rummaging through the bins,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but
- 13:00Speaker 2: also hygiene, yeah, your health, and you don't know what
- 13:04Speaker 2: sort of bacteria is available for you inside these dustbins.
- 13:08Speaker 2: So please don't do that and be extra careful and again.
- 13:11Speaker 2: If any of the aunties and uncles see me at
- 13:13Speaker 2: the hawker center, if you want my can, just ask.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I'll give it to you. Take it. Yes,
- 13:18Speaker 1: yeah, be careful what you wish for. There might be
- 13:21Speaker 1: people just staring at
- 13:22Speaker 1: you
- 13:23Speaker 2: again, remember a long time ago, maybe say in the
- 13:25Speaker 2: early 2000s, where the aunties and uncles will for your
- 13:29Speaker 2: cans a long time ago at the hawker centers. They
- 13:33Speaker 2: will for it and the moment you leave a table
- 13:35Speaker 2: with your cans they will swipe in.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a skill, man. I have to say.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Anyway, um, we'll keep, we'll keep you updated with anything
- 13:45Speaker 1: in case. Have you used
- 13:46Speaker 2: the machine? No,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I haven't. Like, like I said, have you ever seen
- 13:49Speaker 1: me have a canned or bottled drink?
- 13:51Speaker 2: Actually, you're right. Yeah, I've, I've never
- 13:53Speaker 1: seen me hold a can or bottle
- 13:55Speaker 2: ever before in my
- 13:56Speaker 2: life.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I know, it's very rare. Like I
- 13:59Speaker 1: mentioned earlier, things are getting interesting and competitive in the
- 14:03Speaker 1: food rider and food delivery service sector, Singapore. Um, so
- 14:07Speaker 1: our friends over at Food Panda.
- 14:09Speaker 1: They have decided they want to offer a full-time position.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And as a full-time rider, you get a base pay,
- 14:17Speaker 1: and you have to meet a certain target every month.
- 14:20Speaker 1: The base pay works out to be starting from 1.8K
- 14:24Speaker 1: a month, CPF contributions and benefits are included. The only
- 14:29Speaker 1: catch is that you need to achieve a target of
- 14:31Speaker 1: 320 orders per month.
- 14:34Speaker 1: To which I think about it, I think it's possible.
- 14:37Speaker 1: A lot of riders, they chung quite hard every day.
- 14:40Speaker 2: It is possible, but you got to work really hard
- 14:42Speaker 1: for sure.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Can I ask, on top of the base pay, the
- 14:46Speaker 2: commissions for all the deliveries that I do, do I
- 14:49Speaker 2: still take it home?
- 14:50Speaker 1: So you, you have to meet the target first.
- 14:52Speaker 2: OK.
- 14:53Speaker 1: So anything that you do after that, you can continue
- 14:57Speaker 1: on like as if you're like a freelance rider kind
- 14:59Speaker 1: of situation. So you still have to meet the
- 15:02Speaker 1: The base, uh, base requirement though. Full-time employee riders must
- 15:07Speaker 1: ride and deliver, I think, a minimum of about 44
- 15:11Speaker 1: hours a week. So unlike platform riders who deliver ad hoc, um,
- 15:16Speaker 1: and are protected under the Platform Workers Act, these full-time
- 15:19Speaker 1: employees will fall under the Employment Act instead. So it's
- 15:22Speaker 1: like a full-time, yeah, full-time staff. So
- 15:25Speaker 2: is there a quota that the amount of people that
- 15:28Speaker 2: can sign to this full-time program?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Oh, I, I mean, I don't know just yet. I
- 15:31Speaker 1: think they're just testing it out first to see what
- 15:34Speaker 1: the interest is like, um, but the role is currently
- 15:37Speaker 1: only open to e-bike or bicycle users, and I think
- 15:41Speaker 1: this is the testing phase first. If you have your
- 15:43Speaker 1: own e-bike, even better, you know, you can go, go
- 15:45Speaker 1: about doing it yourself. You can receive an additional $100
- 15:48Speaker 1: in vehicle allowance if you have your own e-bike. So,
- 15:51Speaker 1: I guess if it works out, they may roll it
- 15:54Speaker 1: out even wider after that.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Food announcing.
- 15:58Speaker 2: All eyes on Grab
- 16:00Speaker 1: to see what happens, right? Will they
- 16:01Speaker 2: launch something similar to compete with
- 16:03Speaker 2: Foodpanda? Yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 1: so I'm guessing this is their way of being more
- 16:07Speaker 1: competitive in the industry. So I guess regardless, you will
- 16:11Speaker 1: still get that, you know, if you work hard under that, uh,
- 16:14Speaker 1: full-time pay, you will still get the 1.8.
- 16:17Speaker 2: But if you are one of the delivery riders, of course,
- 16:20Speaker 2: weigh your pros and cons and weigh how much you
- 16:22Speaker 2: take home without this program on its own.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And whether you make your own contribution to CPF and
- 16:29Speaker 2: see if it makes it worthwhile for you to sign
- 16:31Speaker 2: on to this full-time program.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess, you know, you have to do the
- 16:35Speaker 1: math to see if it works out for you. I'm
- 16:39Speaker 1: pretty sure that this will appeal.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Target audience for sure, yeah. Um, once again, I just
- 16:44Speaker 1: wanted to say thanks to all the listeners and followers
- 16:47Speaker 1: that actually DM'ed me asking me is everything OK because I, uh,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I did fly to Taipei on Thursday and I flew
- 16:56Speaker 1: straight into typhoon season. OK, TLDR, it wasn't, I didn't
- 17:01Speaker 1: intentionally plan to go there during a typhoon, OK.
- 17:05Speaker 1: The coincidence is that the 2 times that I've been
- 17:08Speaker 1: to Taiwan over the past 2 years, it was smack
- 17:11Speaker 1: in the middle of the typhoon.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I think maybe let's have a 3rd time in Taiwan.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm
- 17:15Speaker 1: starting to wonder whether it's me. You
- 17:17Speaker 2: are the problem.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I brought the typhoon. I'm kidding.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But um I'm just relieved that we're all safe because
- 17:23Speaker 1: as I was flying there on the plane, they actually
- 17:26Speaker 1: did warn us that there will be quite a bit
- 17:28Speaker 1: of turbulence as we approach uh Taipei itself and the
- 17:33Speaker 1: next day, which was Friday, it was predicted to be
- 17:37Speaker 1: a typhoon shutdown kind of day. So what they mean
- 17:41Speaker 1: by that is that they would declare it a public holiday,
- 17:43Speaker 1: so you don't go to school, you don't go to work.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Um, because they predict it may hit quite heavily during
- 17:49Speaker 1: that time.
- 17:49Speaker 2: So according to news reports, there were sustained winds measuring
- 17:54Speaker 2: up to 185 MPH and that's 297 kilometers per hour,
- 18:00Speaker 1: by the way. So it's, it's meant to be, it's
- 18:03Speaker 1: the biggest typhoon 2026 if I'm not wrong, right? And
- 18:07Speaker 1: having had experienced the typhoon the last time, it was
- 18:10Speaker 1: in 2024, if I'm not wrong, that I experienced it.
- 18:12Speaker 1: So, um, just to put things into perspective for you,
- 18:16Speaker 1: because Taipei is a very developed city with huge massive
- 18:19Speaker 1: buildings that are built to withstand this kind of stuff, right?
- 18:22Speaker 1: And the people of Taipei, they're very resilient and they
- 18:24Speaker 1: know exactly what to do. They literally clean up super fast,
- 18:27Speaker 1: you know, there are trees that were like falling, big
- 18:30Speaker 1: branches that are falling and stuff that were cleared like
- 18:32Speaker 1: almost immediately the next day. Um, and it was mostly
- 18:35Speaker 1: in our experience, like wind, really strong winds and heavy rain.
- 18:40Speaker 1: But it kind of, it disappeared on Saturday. It, it
- 18:43Speaker 1: just kind of went away and everything was back to normal.
- 18:46Speaker 1: So we actually just experienced Taipei as it is, you know,
- 18:50Speaker 1: as per usual. The people of Taipei just kind of
- 18:53Speaker 1: went around doing their own things like no big deal.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Kind of situation. So I think what you're seeing in
- 18:58Speaker 1: the news are like the coastal areas that were hit
- 19:00Speaker 1: quite badly. So
- 19:01Speaker 2: the Taipei.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah, they are used to it, but um, my heart
- 19:06Speaker 1: goes out to the people who are in the coastal
- 19:08Speaker 1: areas like Elan, these kind of places that are a
- 19:10Speaker 1: bit more affected, but I'm, I'm assuming they know what
- 19:13Speaker 1: to do as well. But overall, I had a really
- 19:16Speaker 1: good time. I barely touched my phone. I was just eating, drinking, partying, shopping.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Um, doing the usual things that you do in Taipei,
- 19:25Speaker 1: ran into one or two Singaporeans, not that many, I
- 19:27Speaker 1: think because now it's exam season, no one's really traveling.
- 19:31Speaker 2: When you say eating, right, please describe to us the
- 19:33Speaker 2: meals you had over in Taipei.
- 19:36Speaker 1: So good. Honestly, my best meal I felt was.
- 19:39Speaker 1: At the night market, like it doesn't get more legit
- 19:41Speaker 1: than that because when you go to the, the, the
- 19:44Speaker 1: stretch of like shops at the night market, right, um,
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's the kind where like there's no English words at all.
- 19:50Speaker 1: You just have to figure it out. Either that or
- 19:52Speaker 1: they're just selling one thing, like one item per store
- 19:54Speaker 1: because they're specialized in that.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And then you break off into the small alleyways and
- 19:59Speaker 1: you see like those very traditional local shops, please go
- 20:02Speaker 1: to those. They are the best. But I think you
- 20:11Speaker 1: can kind of figure it out if you know the basics.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I survived, I survived and
- 20:17Speaker 1: Taiwanese, like the, the Mandarin that you speak there in
- 20:20Speaker 1: Taiwan is a lot more similar to ours, to what
- 20:23Speaker 1: we have here, yeah. It's a lot more palatable and
- 20:26Speaker 1: easier to understand. So if I can survive, I think you,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, anyone can survive. Anyone can survive, but I had
- 20:32Speaker 1: the best like chicken cutlet, you know, with the spicy powder,
- 20:36Speaker 2: and wow,
- 20:37Speaker 1: that was so good. The night market one was so good.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It was piping hot, um, so many tea eggs I had, and, um,
- 20:44Speaker 1: another thing that they, it's like a kong bapao, you know,
- 20:48Speaker 1: it's like a ropao, but you know, in Singapore we
- 20:50Speaker 1: call it kong bapao, right? It's like the white bun
- 20:53Speaker 1: that folds, and then you have the, the roast, the, the, the, the.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Pork belly inside,
- 20:58Speaker 2: ah, OK,
- 21:00Speaker 1: something like a, yeah, like a pork bun basically.
- 21:02Speaker 2: The closest
- 21:02Speaker 2: I've had to this was over. They something like something
- 21:06Speaker 1: like that, OK, um, so yeah, I had that's so good.
- 21:10Speaker 1: They like to put like preserved vegetables and like all
- 21:13Speaker 1: kinds of stuff on their food. I had the oyster miso.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, it was phenomenal. Chili was so spicy,
- 21:19Speaker 1: loved it.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Can I
- 21:20Speaker 2: ask if I were to do like a two-week trip.
- 21:23Speaker 2: To Taiwan.
- 21:24Speaker 1: 2 weeks.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Is it possible to drive from point A
- 21:27Speaker 1: to point B? Yeah, you can. So the last time
- 21:29Speaker 1: that I, that I was actually in Taipei, we, we
- 21:34Speaker 1: had a friend or we have friends who live in
- 21:36Speaker 1: Taichung actually. So they drove us to Taichung and then
- 21:40Speaker 1: they drove us back. So
- 21:42Speaker 2: I'm
- 21:42Speaker 2: looking at the map of Taiwan. So if I land
- 21:44Speaker 2: and maybe say I start from Taipei City and I
- 21:46Speaker 2: drive all the way down.
- 21:48Speaker 2: To Kaohsiung City, somewhere near Kenting National
- 21:52Speaker 2: Park.
- 21:54Speaker 1: But from what I understand there's rail, so I don't
- 21:59Speaker 1: know whether you want to do that, because I heard
- 22:03Speaker 1: it's quite efficient too. It depends on where you want
- 22:05Speaker 1: to go I guess. Yeah, but um the previous two times, yeah,
- 22:08Speaker 1: we did, we did do some driving I'm
- 22:10Speaker 2: definitely.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of hiking, hiking. Um, some
- 22:19Speaker 1: of our friends were intending to go for a hike
- 22:21Speaker 1: on Friday morning, but unfortunately they had to cancel it
- 22:24Speaker 1: because of the weather. But yes, you are right, they
- 22:27Speaker 1: have a lot of hiking, they've got a lot of
- 22:29Speaker 1: mountainous areas as well and tea plantations and everything, yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 2: There's a mountain called Mount Sylvia apparently.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Who is it named after I wonder.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Sylvia.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I know one or two Sylvia, um, but anyway, all
- 22:44Speaker 1: in all, great trip. Um, you know, I think people
- 22:47Speaker 1: generally thought that it would be dampened by the typhoon situation, yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 1: a little bit on the first day, but to be
- 22:53Speaker 1: very honest, quite a relief after the heat that we're
- 22:57Speaker 1: experiencing in Singapore though, so I, I thought it was
- 22:59Speaker 1: a welcome change that we experienced that for.
- 23:01Speaker 1: 1 or 2 days. Just
- 23:02Speaker 2: make sure you stay safe and it was good. It
- 23:07Speaker 2: was great it was here in Singapore the
- 23:08Speaker 2: last few days.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Exactly. So hey, I didn't take too much content or
- 23:12Speaker 1: pictures or videos at all. I was just really enjoying myself,
- 23:14Speaker 1: but maybe it might have inspired you to make a
- 23:16Speaker 1: trip to Taiwan very soon. Yeah,
- 23:18Speaker 2: whatever you do, right, your caption better not be escaping
- 23:22Speaker 2: the air here in Singapore.
- 23:24Speaker 2: stay away from that just in case.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So, uh, with my trip to Taipei, also managed to
- 23:28Speaker 1: catch up with some friends over there. And, um, this
- 23:31Speaker 1: particular story came from one of our single friends who's
- 23:35Speaker 1: back in the game and dating again. And he, he's
- 23:38Speaker 1: a good guy. He's a good guy, honestly, and I
- 23:41Speaker 1: think he's a catch. OK. So he told us he's
- 23:44Speaker 1: going back into the dating game here in Singapore and
- 23:46Speaker 1: told us some.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Dating stories from his recent experiences, um, two of which
- 23:53Speaker 1: I want to narrow down, and I think we're going
- 23:55Speaker 1: to open up phone lines for one of it. Let's go.
- 23:58Speaker 1: So imagine this, OK, you're swiping, you know, you're, you're single,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you're like, OK, going on several dates and just sussing
- 24:04Speaker 1: it out, right? And you come across this 1st, 1st girl.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I'm going to give you two situations, OK? First girl.
- 24:12Speaker 1: He goes on a date with her and uh after
- 24:14Speaker 1: the date is over, he said, OK, it went quite well,
- 24:16Speaker 1: you know, they're just casually getting to know each other.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's like literally 1 or 2 dates only. And a
- 24:21Speaker 1: couple of weeks later, you get a text from your
- 24:23Speaker 1: friend sending you a link to a video and saying, hey,
- 24:27Speaker 1: is this you in this video? And you go, OK,
- 24:30Speaker 1: not your face or anything at all, but it's your
- 24:33Speaker 1: back view. But I think I can, I can recognize
- 24:35Speaker 1: your back view for sure, having known you for so long, right?
- 24:39Speaker 1: So then he goes, yeah, wait, yeah, that is me. Like, what, what?
- 24:42Speaker 1: And he goes, this girl reviewed your date on social media. Yeah,
- 24:47Speaker 1: she used it as content. This random girl that he
- 24:50Speaker 1: met on a dating app.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Is this
- 24:52Speaker 2: girl a serial date reviewer?
- 24:54Speaker 1: I think so. So apparently she's like, like a micro-influencer
- 24:57Speaker 1: or some sort of an influencer.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Oh, that's interesting.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And um now Joakim's invested, he's going to go and
- 25:02Speaker 1: try and find out.
- 25:03Speaker 1: But she reviewed the date. So obviously after that he
- 25:06Speaker 1: was like, I'm not going to continue going out with
- 25:08Speaker 1: this girl, right? What, what bizarre behavior. I mean, I
- 25:11Speaker 1: don't know if it would have made a difference if
- 25:12Speaker 1: she had given him a heads up like, hey, are
- 25:14Speaker 1: you OK if I review this date?
- 25:17Speaker 1: I mean, even in itself, what would you say?
- 25:19Speaker 2: Um,
- 25:20Speaker 1: would you be comfortable with it? I mean, I wouldn't be.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I mean, if you
- 25:22Speaker 2: want to review it, OK, but no need to put
- 25:26Speaker 2: my back view or front view or side view
- 25:28Speaker 1: or his face wasn't in it. No, but in her defense,
- 25:31Speaker 2: people will recognize my back.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Your friends can definitely recognize your back view.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Even your, your arm or something.
- 25:39Speaker 2: If the video is on TikTok, there will definitely be
- 25:41Speaker 2: some burner accounts who will text me saying, hey, at
- 25:43Speaker 2: Joakim Gomez, is this you?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Or just trying to to to investigate,
- 25:47Speaker 2: right? Yeah, but OK, on the flip side, I'm very
- 25:52Speaker 2: sure in those like hidden Telegram chats and all that
- 25:55Speaker 2: or
- 25:55Speaker 1: those I mean.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I don't want to say the platform names, but there
- 25:59Speaker 1: are these like forums out there where people review, yeah,
- 26:02Speaker 1: keep it anonymous or whatever. For all
- 26:03Speaker 2: you know, men are doing the exact same thing. Yeah,
- 26:07Speaker 2: you
- 26:07Speaker 1: know. So, yeah, this friend of mine was telling us
- 26:10Speaker 1: a story and then the, the second girl that he
- 26:12Speaker 1: went out with all in the span of, you know,
- 26:15Speaker 1: the recent few months.
- 26:17Speaker 1: This other girl, he actually really liked, and he said like, oh,
- 26:21Speaker 1: maybe there could be a chance that they will keep
- 26:24Speaker 1: going out and actually properly date. So I was like, oh,
- 26:26Speaker 1: that's good because like I said, he's a catch, she's
- 26:29Speaker 1: a good guy, you know. Um, then after I think
- 26:33Speaker 1: 2 dates or so, um, they were texting and, you know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: just getting to know each other, right, and he's quite
- 26:38Speaker 1: busy at work. He's quite busy. So he didn't reply
- 26:42Speaker 1: to her for like 30 minutes this one day.
- 26:45Speaker 1: She flipped out and sent him like 50 messages or something,
- 26:50Speaker 1: implying that like he's ghosting her or like why do
- 26:53Speaker 1: you disrespect me like that when I give you all
- 26:55Speaker 1: my time and energy. Wait, yeah. Is this girl employed?
- 26:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know anything about her. Like
- 27:00Speaker 1: I've never met her. I just know that she's, she's
- 27:03Speaker 1: much younger. She's much younger, so maybe she's still might
- 27:06Speaker 1: be a bit immature. I don't know.
- 27:08Speaker 1: But anyway, he was just really shocked because he even
- 27:10Speaker 1: like screen grabbed his last reply to her. It was
- 27:13Speaker 1: like 35 minutes ago and then she freaked out. After
- 27:17Speaker 1: 30 minutes, she spammed him with like 50 messages, and
- 27:20Speaker 1: he said he didn't even know how to react at
- 27:21Speaker 1: that moment. He literally just said like, uh, dude, I was,
- 27:24Speaker 1: I'm at work, like I was in an important meeting.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I mean,
- 27:28Speaker 1: It's like how do you even begin to explain?
- 27:31Speaker 2: This
- 27:31Speaker 2: girl flips after 35 minutes. Hello, I've been waiting for
- 27:35Speaker 2: a reply for 3 years.
- 27:38Speaker 2: OK, it's not me,
- 27:38Speaker 1: it's not me.
- 27:39Speaker 2: If that girl flipped after 35 minutes, I should be what,
- 27:43Speaker 2: checked in somewhere, testing my blood pressure levels or what?
- 27:47Speaker 2: Oh my God. I gave her my time and attention, OK?
- 27:53Speaker 2: I'm just kidding. No, no.
- 27:57Speaker 1: He's very patient.
- 27:58Speaker 2: It's OK.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Give us a phone spoil.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Oh,
- 28:01Speaker 1: sure. Oh sure, yes. Oh, her reception, something wrong.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I think when she switched to the iPhone, something wrong.
- 28:09Speaker 1: She lost the message. She didn't
- 28:10Speaker 2: see
- 28:10Speaker 1: a reply.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Keep being the Lulu.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Thank
- 28:13Speaker 1: you.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Give
- 28:15Speaker 1: us a call
- 28:15Speaker 2: 669-1187.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Both of us are literally still recovering for some weird reason.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It's just never going away.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Anyway, phone lines are open 669-11987 and let us know
- 28:27Speaker 1: of your stories as well. What do you think is
- 28:31Speaker 1: a reasonable window that you still think like, OK, like
- 28:34Speaker 1: it's it's not considered like you're ghosting me or anything?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Like how long will you wait for a person to
- 28:39Speaker 1: reply to your text before you start thinking that that
- 28:41Speaker 1: person might be ghosting you?
- 28:43Speaker 2: I'll give it one day.
- 28:45Speaker 1: A day, a day is quite long.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I mean, if I know that person is busy at
- 28:48Speaker 2: work and if this person works in
- 28:50Speaker 2: A very highly demanding.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but you see, in the early stages of dating,
- 28:55Speaker 1: you may still be getting to know the person, right? And,
- 28:58Speaker 1: and maybe I don't have that much time to explain
- 29:01Speaker 1: to you like what I do or something. I
- 29:03Speaker 2: rather, I rather you reply me in full when you
- 29:05Speaker 2: can
- 29:07Speaker 1: give
- 29:07Speaker 2: like
- 29:07Speaker 1: a
- 29:08Speaker 2: reply sporadically and you don't even know what you're typing
- 29:11Speaker 2: sometimes just for the sake of replying.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Like I remember when I just started dating a germ
- 29:16Speaker 1: back then years ago.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Um, both of us, I wouldn't say we're the best texters.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I won't say that too. That's OK. We're not
- 29:25Speaker 1: the best texters, and, and sometimes I also expect my
- 29:29Speaker 1: partner to not freak out or understand. I cannot reply
- 29:32Speaker 1: for a few hours, like, you know, I know,
- 29:34Speaker 2: yes.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So I, I, I mean, he also is like that.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So I think we kind of, we kind of understand and,
- 29:44Speaker 1: and at one point we'll say like, OK, um, I'm
- 29:46Speaker 1: gonna have a pretty busy day, so my replies will
- 29:48Speaker 1: be slow. So when he says that to me, I'm like, OK,
- 29:50Speaker 1: I'm mentally prepared.
- 29:51Speaker 2: OK, at least the heads up was there, yeah.
- 29:53Speaker 1: So a heads up is important. Yes, you would say. OK,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I will do
- 29:57Speaker 2: that as well. OK.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Give us a call or a message 669-11987 or 90050987.
- 30:04Speaker 1: What is the time frame for you? Like, what is
- 30:06Speaker 1: the window for you, um, that you're OK to wait
- 30:10Speaker 1: for a reply or a text from a person that
- 30:12Speaker 1: you're interested in?
- 30:14Speaker 2: Get your texts coming in.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Let us know. Let us know based on your experiences too.
- 30:18Speaker 1: And
- 30:18Speaker 2: if
- 30:18Speaker 2: we do like your answer, what's coming your way, a
- 30:20Speaker 2: $100 voucher. All thanks to our friends over at Little Farm.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Oh, we're talking about what is the window of time
- 30:27Speaker 1: that's acceptable to wait for a reply from someone that
- 30:30Speaker 1: you're interested in.
- 30:31Speaker 2: OK.
- 30:32Speaker 1: And for you,
- 30:33Speaker 2: I'll give it a day.
- 30:34Speaker 1: A day, a full day. Like
- 30:35Speaker 2: a full day, 24 hours. Be of
- 30:38Speaker 1: doubt. OK, I would say I would.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Give a full workday, like assuming this person is really
- 30:44Speaker 1: busy
- 30:45Speaker 2: reply by EOD. Yeah,
- 30:47Speaker 1: by end of day, man, like, OK, if you're truly
- 30:50Speaker 1: interested in someone, I will probably reply at the end
- 30:54Speaker 1: of the day. Again, I will wait, make you wait
- 30:57Speaker 1: till tomorrow. I mean, that's quite sad,
- 30:59Speaker 2: right? The younger and more foolish Joakim Gomez would have
- 31:05Speaker 2: double and triple texted saying, hey.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Oh, are you OK? And then I'll ask my friends.
- 31:11Speaker 2: I don't think she likes me. Is it me? Am
- 31:13Speaker 2: I the problem? No, really, really, I was like that.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I kid you not. I,
- 31:17Speaker 1: I don't disagree with you. I think that when we
- 31:19Speaker 1: were much younger, especially, you know, when we just started
- 31:23Speaker 1: dating as teenagers or like puppy love or whatever.
- 31:26Speaker 1: You would be constantly texting,
- 31:28Speaker 2: like teenagers in my twenties as
- 31:29Speaker 2: well.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Oh, OK, yes, um, but I, I guess like you
- 31:33Speaker 1: would have found yourself a bit more concerned if that
- 31:36Speaker 1: person didn't reply, but now I guess in your current
- 31:39Speaker 1: stage of life as an adult.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Hopefully I've matured a little bit, you know, the frontal
- 31:44Speaker 2: cortex and lobe developed. Yes, the
- 31:46Speaker 1: frontal cortex and lobe,
- 31:48Speaker 2: whatever it is, frontal
- 31:49Speaker 1: lobe, the prefrontal
- 31:50Speaker 2: cortex prefrontal sorry,
- 31:53Speaker 2: still developing in front lah, still frontal, same
- 31:56Speaker 2: thing.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Let's go to messages
- 31:59Speaker 2: first. Wanna say good morning to username and a fish
- 32:03Speaker 2: at the back. OK. Just want to share this story
- 32:05Speaker 2: of my friend and his date. My friend is a
- 32:08Speaker 2: very good looking Swiss guy, super nice guy, has a
- 32:10Speaker 2: comfortable job, lives alone. He went on a date with
- 32:13Speaker 2: this girl and I guess he invited her to his place.
- 32:16Speaker 2: After two dates, she sent him a shopping list like toothbrush.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Toothpaste, contact lenses, lotion, facial cleanser to buy. He was
- 32:26Speaker 2: a bit, huh? And after 3 days, she said she
- 32:29Speaker 2: has a spare TV at home so she can bring
- 32:32Speaker 2: it over whenever she's over so she can watch TV.
- 32:35Speaker 2: My friend, he doesn't have a TV, not because he
- 32:38Speaker 2: can't afford one, but because he reads and enjoys reading
- 32:41Speaker 2: physical books. He quite likes the girl but felt she's
- 32:45Speaker 2: trying to move into his.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Place after 3 dates and it's too fast. He told
- 32:48Speaker 2: her that he's not ready to have a girl move
- 32:50Speaker 2: in after 3 dates and she completely flipped, screamed and
- 32:54Speaker 2: shouted at him and then blocked him. I think he
- 32:56Speaker 2: dodged a bullet. What do you think? I think he
- 32:58Speaker 2: dodged a bazooka.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I think he did. Yeah, I think he
- 33:00Speaker 2: did dodged a
- 33:01Speaker 2: missile.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Dude, that, that's pretty out of control, man. Like, well,
- 33:06Speaker 1: she must be feeling very comfortable already at his place.
- 33:09Speaker 1: That's for sure.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Um, I'm someone that takes personal space quite seriously. Like
- 33:14Speaker 1: I need my personal space too, so I can't imagine
- 33:17Speaker 1: like imposing that on someone, you know, like just anyhow
- 33:20Speaker 1: move my things there or start leaving my clothes and
- 33:22Speaker 1: underwear and my toothbrush like, no, I don't think I.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Did that till much later actually with with
- 33:30Speaker 2: Jem. Yeah, and I'm very respectful of my partner's personal.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Exactly yeah if it's, yeah, I'll come over for dinner,
- 33:39Speaker 2: but I'm not gonna insist that I stay over or
- 33:41Speaker 2: stuff like that.
- 33:43Speaker 1: That person offers, like if he he offers, he or
- 33:46Speaker 1: she says like, hey, since you're here so often, do
- 33:49Speaker 1: you want to like leave a toothbrush here,
- 33:51Speaker 2: even if you'll be like, hey, you know what, I
- 33:54Speaker 2: know I know what it's like to have your space
- 33:57Speaker 2: for yourself.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I'm just gonna stay till you sleep, then I'll leave,
- 34:02Speaker 1: yeah, to be honest, I mean, it took me a
- 34:04Speaker 1: while to learn how to live with someone because I,
- 34:08Speaker 1: I'm so used to being by myself. You and I both. Yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 1: so I, I can't imagine if someone imposed that on
- 34:13Speaker 1: me and forced their way into my house or my
- 34:15Speaker 1: room to like live in there.
- 34:17Speaker 2: It's OK. I
- 34:17Speaker 2: spare somewhere Sonia, I'll bring it over, OK, everything there.
- 34:20Speaker 1: 669-11987
- 34:24Speaker 2: or you can WhatsApp us at 90050987.
- 34:29Speaker 2: What is the acceptable window for reply?
- 34:31Speaker 1: Hm, yeah, so how long will you wait for a
- 34:34Speaker 1: reply from someone that you're interested in before you start
- 34:37Speaker 1: thinking that they might be ghosting you? Yeah. Let us
- 34:40Speaker 1: know and in exchange, a $100 shopping experience to Little Farms,
- 34:43Speaker 1: one of the best places to get really wonderful produce
- 34:46Speaker 1: and they've got, um, I think Italian season for them,
- 34:49Speaker 2: right?
- 34:49Speaker 2: So, if you're going to the one over at Tallinn Mall,
- 34:52Speaker 2: take note, 6th November, they've got a specially curated Italian
- 34:56Speaker 2: dinner at Little Farm's table. $88 per pack. The menu
- 35:00Speaker 2: features Italian favorites. OK, help me out here if I'm
- 35:03Speaker 2: saying it wrongly, alright. There's the wild mushroom risotto with truffle, risotto,
- 35:08Speaker 2: chicken Milanese.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Wrong Milan,
- 35:12Speaker 1: I think it's just Milan.
- 35:14Speaker 2: OK, grilled beef strip loin and tiramisu.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah, wonderful. Sounds so good. So give us a call 669-11987.
- 35:21Speaker 1: We'd love to hear from you. Tell us about your
- 35:23Speaker 1: experiences too. How long would you wait for a reply
- 35:25Speaker 1: from someone before you think that he or she is
- 35:28Speaker 1: ghosting you? Call us right now or drop us a
- 35:31Speaker 1: message 90050987, talking about what is the time frame or the,
- 35:36Speaker 1: the window that's still acceptable to
- 35:39Speaker 1: Wait for someone to reply to your text, especially someone
- 35:42Speaker 1: that you're interested in.
- 35:43Speaker 2: OK, you ready for this? I want to say good
- 35:45Speaker 2: morning to Z. Morning, Sonia and Joakim. I used to
- 35:49Speaker 2: date a girl and she was freaked out when I
- 35:52Speaker 2: did not reply to her for 14 hours because I
- 35:56Speaker 2: was dead asleep.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Wait, you were asleep in the daytime or what?
- 36:00Speaker 2: Perhaps she's my girlfriend now of 5 years and counting,
- 36:04Speaker 2: and she understands now that I just sleep a lot.
- 36:08Speaker 1: You see, that's the thing. So before you even, if
- 36:11Speaker 1: this happened like before you even got to know the
- 36:13Speaker 1: person and their habits, you might think that they're just
- 36:16Speaker 1: ghosting you. That's the problem, right?
- 36:19Speaker 1: You're not, you're not wrong to say that. So unless
- 36:21Speaker 1: you persist and you feel like, oh, this person is
- 36:24Speaker 1: someone that I like and you accept that, then you'll
- 36:26Speaker 1: find out, oh, that's just part of their lifestyle. Sleeping
- 36:29Speaker 2: for 14 hours.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever done that, man. Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I also say good morning to Dom. Dom says in
- 36:34Speaker 2: dating apps, always wait until they reply back. If no response,
- 36:40Speaker 2: treat it as if you're an AI account, a potential scammer,
- 36:43Speaker 2: or maybe their phone battery died already.
- 36:46Speaker 1: blame something. Give some excuse, anything.
- 36:49Speaker 2: But the threat of AI accounts and scammers on dating
- 36:52Speaker 2: apps
- 36:52Speaker 1: terrifying, it's real. I mean, look, people can easily generate
- 36:55Speaker 1: some random profile picture, and it could be hard to
- 36:57Speaker 1: tell like glance.
- 37:00Speaker 2: AI gets more advanced these days,
- 37:02Speaker 1: yeah, it's quite scary. Catfishing on another level now. They
- 37:04Speaker 1: are smarter now, I would say.
- 37:06Speaker 2: And one more also coming in from Dave. Hello Dave.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Dave says, morning, Sonia and Jokim for me. If before
- 37:13Speaker 2: you sleep without seeing my message and replying, I can
- 37:16Speaker 2: see that they're not interested or maybe married.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I won't freak out. I will move on. That's their loss. See,
- 37:23Speaker 1: you see, this is what I mean. Like if it
- 37:25Speaker 1: is someone that you're actually interested in, I wouldn't just
- 37:27Speaker 1: go to bed without first checking to reply. I mean,
- 37:30Speaker 1: I would definitely have 5 minutes before you sleep to
- 37:32Speaker 1: reply to someone. Exactly for sure, yeah.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Just a simple, hey, it's been a long day. Can
- 37:36Speaker 2: I talk to you
- 37:37Speaker 2: tomorrow?
- 37:37Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly like a holding message. That's what I call
- 37:39Speaker 1: it holding message.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Like my village is like hold 1st, 1st.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I need to study these things, you know. They will
- 37:47Speaker 2: come in handy. Yes, it will
- 37:49Speaker 1: keep your stories coming through. You can still send us
- 37:51Speaker 1: more messages 90050987.
- 37:54Speaker 2: So Sonia, can you help me check this message from
- 37:56Speaker 2: three years ago.
- 37:59Speaker 1: This one is how not to get a go. Thanks.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Thank you. Phone lines are still open once again, and
- 38:04Speaker 1: our messages to in exchange, a $100 shopping experience thanks
- 38:08Speaker 1: to Little Farms could be yours. Talking about the window
- 38:11Speaker 1: of time that you allow yourself um to, to wait
- 38:15Speaker 1: for a reply or response from someone that you're interested
- 38:19Speaker 1: in.
- 38:19Speaker 2: If it's Lisa texting me, take all the time you need.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Another 3 years.
- 38:24Speaker 2: 2 weeks.
- 38:26Speaker 1: 3 years. I, I just try to think, I'm trying
- 38:28Speaker 1: to think right now like when, what was the longest
- 38:32Speaker 1: amount of time I waited for a reply or I
- 38:34Speaker 1: made someone wait for a reply.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Oh no, man, it's definitely within a day, within a
- 38:39Speaker 1: day for sure. But if I'm really, really not interested,
- 38:42Speaker 1: I think you can tell. Yeah, you, you'll be able
- 38:44Speaker 1: to tell like I'm just not interested to continue the conversation,
- 38:46Speaker 2: you know, for Sonia, right, once she's online on WhatsApp,
- 38:50Speaker 2: Telegram or Instagram DMs, you make sure you make full use.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Of the 2 to 3 minutes that she's there, get
- 38:59Speaker 2: all you want to say and get it out there
- 39:01Speaker 2: so she
- 39:01Speaker 1: reads it. I don't know. OK, I have my moods,
- 39:03Speaker 1: you know, because like sometimes I just don't feel like engaging.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I can tell.
- 39:07Speaker 1: So then when I'm like, OK, when I'm there, then
- 39:10Speaker 1: I'll just reply everything at once. Yeah, yeah, that's my style.
- 39:14Speaker 2: And sometimes I can be texting her something very important
- 39:16Speaker 2: on WhatsApp. She won't see it, but she'll send me
- 39:18Speaker 2: memes on DMs.
- 39:21Speaker 2: And I have to go there and say, hey,
- 39:23Speaker 2: go to your WhatsApp.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Hold up, hold up, because I can't help it if
- 39:26Speaker 1: something reminds me of you or like that I think
- 39:29Speaker 1: we'll both laugh about. And the thing is, if I
- 39:31Speaker 1: don't share it in that moment, it'll be gone. I
- 39:34Speaker 1: won't be able to find it again and have a
- 39:36Speaker 1: good laugh about probably some cancelable joke.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yes, anyway, thank you so much for all your texts.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I think I want to give it.
- 39:44Speaker 2: To Z, the sleeping monster, very aptly named.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Exactly. Um, but the bright side is that he actually
- 39:52Speaker 1: ended up properly dating this girl now for like 5 years. Yeah.
- 39:56Speaker 1: So she got past the phase of him not replying
- 39:59Speaker 1: for 14 hours. So
- 40:00Speaker 2: a $100 Little Farms voucher coming your way, Z. Please
- 40:03Speaker 2: enjoy it. Make sure you check them out over on Instagram.
- 40:05Speaker 2: That's a Little Farms and
- 40:07Speaker 2: Make sure you try the Italian curated dinner happening November
- 40:11Speaker 2: 6th at Tanglin Mall.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's priced at 88 dollars++ per pack, and they've
- 40:15Speaker 1: got a really wonderful Italian favorites with great produce, desserts,
- 40:19Speaker 1: and you can explore guided tasting of cheese, wine, and
- 40:22Speaker 1: charcuterie at the Italian Wine and cheese masterclass. This is
- 40:26Speaker 1: once again on the 6th of November. This one is
- 40:28Speaker 1: $65 per pack. Beautiful, beautiful. For more info, visit their Instagram.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Arms. OK, question for you, if you're flying very soon
- 40:38Speaker 1: or let's just say, OK, you have an other half, you,
- 40:42Speaker 1: you're traveling with your other half, and um, you know,
- 40:45Speaker 1: you take a flight for maybe between 8 to 10 hours.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Is it your preference to sit next to your other half?
- 40:53Speaker 2: I mean, like your
- 40:54Speaker 1: girlfriend, boyfriend, husband or wife?
- 40:56Speaker 2: Isn't that the norm? What has
- 40:58Speaker 2: changed?
- 40:59Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. OK, so I
- 41:02Speaker 1: If I tell you the story about like my flight
- 41:04Speaker 1: situation to Taipei and stuff, you're gonna laugh at me,
- 41:06Speaker 1: but TLDR, I did not fly with germs going there
- 41:11Speaker 1: and coming back, we didn't sit next to each other
- 41:13Speaker 1: at all. So going there, I was on a completely
- 41:15Speaker 1: different flight. Coming back, we didn't sit next to each other.
- 41:18Speaker 1: We were, we were one seat away from each other.
- 41:20Speaker 2: late check-in, no, no.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Never mind, this is a story for another day.
- 41:29Speaker 2: OK,
- 41:30Speaker 1: OK, fine, fine, fine. You want me to tell me,
- 41:31Speaker 1: you want me to tell you or not? I'll just
- 41:32Speaker 1: tell you on air. I'll summarize it. OK. So, um,
- 41:37Speaker 1: he booked our flights like quite a while ago because
- 41:39Speaker 1: these dates were locked in due to like, uh, some
- 41:41Speaker 1: sort of a reunion that he has over there, OK.
- 41:44Speaker 1: So already locked in, he said, I booked the flight,
- 41:46Speaker 1: I booked the hotel, everything. I didn't read it, OK,
- 41:49Speaker 1: I didn't see it.
- 41:52Speaker 2: So it's a you problem lah.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yes, yes. So I didn't admittedly, I did not click
- 41:57Speaker 1: on it at all. I didn't see the dates. I didn't, yeah,
- 42:00Speaker 1: so I, I assumed the dates were slightly different and
- 42:03Speaker 1: I realized as the drew closer that actually I had
- 42:05Speaker 1: to work on the date that we were supposed to
- 42:07Speaker 1: fly off together.
- 42:09Speaker 1: So I had to reschedule my flight to the next day,
- 42:12Speaker 1: which is no big deal, it's still fine. Of course,
- 42:14Speaker 1: the preference is to fly together, right, on a vacation.
- 42:18Speaker 1: And then me, Bodo, I did not notice that the
- 42:22Speaker 1: flight coming back is on Monday, not Sunday.
- 42:26Speaker 1: So when I rebooked um the flight, due to the
- 42:30Speaker 1: category of tickets, you need to rebook both flights. You
- 42:35Speaker 1: need to rebook, you cannot just rebook one. I don't
- 42:38Speaker 1: know how to explain. This is the best that I
- 42:39Speaker 1: can do in terms of explanation. So, um, I rebooked
- 42:43Speaker 1: myself on the wrong flight.
- 42:45Speaker 1: I rebooked on Sunday because I thought I'd be back
- 42:47Speaker 1: to work on Monday. Turns out, no, we had something
- 42:50Speaker 1: on on Sunday night, so I have to take the
- 42:52Speaker 1: Monday morning, Monday flight. So when that happened and I
- 42:56Speaker 1: got to the counter, obviously my seat was not with
- 42:59Speaker 1: him anymore and it was just complicated. So yeah, we
- 43:03Speaker 1: were seated one seat away from each other in a
- 43:05Speaker 1: different aisle.
- 43:05Speaker 2: What's
- 43:06Speaker 2: the what's the moral here?
- 43:08Speaker 1: The moral of the story is always read the messages
- 43:10Speaker 1: that your partner
- 43:11Speaker 1: sends you.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I'm not wrong, this is not the first
- 43:16Speaker 1: time is actually Germs has a running joke with his
- 43:18Speaker 1: friends because they were like, oh, it's, where's Sonia? And
- 43:21Speaker 1: he said, yeah, if she shows up, it's a miracle.
- 43:24Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 43:26Speaker 2: He has given
- 43:27Speaker 1: up. He said that I keep his life exciting, OK.
- 43:31Speaker 1: But
- 43:31Speaker 2: anyway, to answer the question you asked two minutes ago, sorry,
- 43:35Speaker 1: you
- 43:36Speaker 2: asked
- 43:36Speaker 1: me what? You asked me why I.
- 43:38Speaker 2: OK, so if I, if I was flying with a partner, yeah,
- 43:41Speaker 2: I would do the, the hack where you pick the
- 43:44Speaker 2: aisle seat and the window seat and leave the middle
- 43:47Speaker 2: seat open.
- 43:48Speaker 2: And hope that no one picks that seat to sit
- 43:50Speaker 2: in between the both of
- 43:51Speaker 2: you,
- 43:52Speaker 1: but it's a, it might be that,
- 43:53Speaker 2: yeah, we sit together.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Yeah, la, then that would be silly, right, if you
- 43:57Speaker 1: do that and someone fills in the seat it's OK. Yeah,
- 43:59Speaker 1: it's OK. I'll tell you what happened to this woman
- 44:02Speaker 1: on a 10-hour flight that um.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I don't know if I can say I can relate
- 44:09Speaker 1: or I can empathize, but it was a bit dramatic. So, um,
- 44:13Speaker 1: here's what happened, and I did ask you a question earlier.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I said if you're traveling with your plus one or
- 44:19Speaker 1: your partner in life, the preference of course, is to
- 44:21Speaker 1: sit together, but
- 44:24Speaker 1: On the off chance that it's a very full flight
- 44:26Speaker 1: or you don't manage to choose your seats, will you
- 44:29Speaker 1: have a major problem with it? No, no, no. Like
- 44:31Speaker 1: even if it's a long flight. I'm talking like, OK, like,
- 44:35Speaker 1: like maybe 8 to 10 hour
- 44:37Speaker 1: flight
- 44:37Speaker 2: to the galley.
- 44:40Speaker 2: And just chill out and hang out for
- 44:42Speaker 2: a bit,
- 44:42Speaker 1: but you wouldn't be too fussed about switching
- 44:45Speaker 1: seats.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I mean, I'm gonna spend the whole holiday with you,
- 44:48Speaker 1: and you can spend your flight like watching, catching on movies, reading, whatever.
- 44:52Speaker 2: And if we are flying back, I'm going to see
- 44:53Speaker 2: all of you at home, so
- 44:55Speaker 1: never mind. In fact, this woman who was on a
- 44:58Speaker 1: 10-hour flight, OK, I believe the flight was from Istanbul
- 45:05Speaker 1: to DC to Washington. OK, about 10 hours, OK.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Um,
- 45:11Speaker 1: She shared a video of this fellow passenger who was very,
- 45:15Speaker 1: very upset that she couldn't sit with her husband. So she, she,
- 45:21Speaker 1: she said that this lady allegedly asked her whether she
- 45:24Speaker 1: could switch seats with her husband, but her husband's not
- 45:27Speaker 1: exactly nearby. It's like a few rows back or like
- 45:31Speaker 1: a different area altogether.
- 45:33Speaker 1: So, naturally, I think this woman that posted about it,
- 45:37Speaker 1: she didn't want to switch the seats because I mean
- 45:39Speaker 1: if I booked the seat and I selected this seat,
- 45:41Speaker 1: it's probably because I want this particular area that's maybe
- 45:44Speaker 1: nearer to the restroom or the aisle seat or whatever
- 45:47Speaker 1: is my preference.
- 45:50Speaker 2: And if there's no way I'm switching seats.
- 45:51Speaker 1: And that's the thing like I prefer sitting in the aisle.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Like I don't like sitting inside window or center. I
- 45:58Speaker 1: want to sit in the aisle because I will go,
- 46:00Speaker 1: I will use the restroom. I drink a lot of water.
- 46:02Speaker 1: So I will use the restroom several times. So if
- 46:06Speaker 1: someone asked me to switch seats, if it's a short
- 46:09Speaker 1: flight and I didn't pay any extra money to like
- 46:12Speaker 1: do this, OK, maybe I will think about it. But
- 46:15Speaker 1: if it's anything longer than, I don't know, 4 or
- 46:19Speaker 1: 5 hours, there's no way that I'm switching. I'm so sorry,
- 46:21Speaker 1: like you you.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Or you just have to sit wherever you got, you know,
- 46:25Speaker 1: you got assigned to. I'm not going to switch with you. So, unfortunately, um,
- 46:30Speaker 1: the woman that didn't get her way was apparently crying
- 46:33Speaker 1: for three hours straight that she couldn't sit next to
- 46:35Speaker 1: her husband. And it was all documented by this lady
- 46:39Speaker 1: who then posted about it on social media. So admittedly,
- 46:43Speaker 1: I think, you know, maybe that lady was going through
- 46:46Speaker 1: some stuff. She was very emotional, apparently, but
- 46:49Speaker 1: I think um unfortunately, it was, it was, it became
- 46:53Speaker 1: a big deal on social media, unfortunately.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Why did the
- 46:56Speaker 2: lady? Yeah, I
- 46:58Speaker 1: I I know um she's a travel influencer too, so
- 47:01Speaker 1: maybe it was for her. Yeah, maybe it was for her.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Come on, I feel bad. Now I feel bad too,
- 47:08Speaker 1: but um at the end of the day, it's, it's
- 47:12Speaker 1: the kind of thing where I also feel like I
- 47:14Speaker 1: don't want to impose.
- 47:16Speaker 1: My issues on a stranger, you know, unfortunately, you just
- 47:19Speaker 1: have to tahan it, man. Like if you get that seat,
- 47:22Speaker 1: you get that seat, because when I was, like I said,
- 47:24Speaker 1: when I was flying back, I didn't sit with germs either.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Like we were like a seat apart, but it doesn't matter.
- 47:29Speaker 1: It was like what, 3.5 hour flight.
- 47:31Speaker 2: So for example, if there's a visible injury or the
- 47:34Speaker 2: person is handicapped, then yeah, I'll make the exceptional and
- 47:37Speaker 2: all that. Or if for example, a parent wants to
- 47:41Speaker 2: sit with his or her child.
- 47:43Speaker 1: This is a tough one. I don't know. We, we
- 47:45Speaker 1: should open up phone lines for this another day, but um, yeah, tomorrow, yeah, honestly,
- 47:49Speaker 1: because when I was seated in the middle seat, it's,
- 47:53Speaker 1: you know, uncomfortable, of course, I was seated between two dudes, right?
- 47:56Speaker 1: And um I really wanted to share this dessert thing
- 47:59Speaker 1: that I bought in Taiwan with germs, so I had
- 48:01Speaker 1: to reach over the guy that was sitting next to
- 48:04Speaker 1: me to pass it to
- 48:05Speaker 2: Germs.
- 48:07Speaker 2: So I was gonna say.
- 48:09Speaker 2: I might change my mind. Depends on how they ask.
- 48:14Speaker 1: OK, yeah,
- 48:14Speaker 2: if they
- 48:15Speaker 2: are really polite and paisy about it, you know, I'm like, Ma'am,
- 48:18Speaker 2: it's OK. Come, take this seat. I'll just sit wherever
- 48:20Speaker 2: you're supposed to sit.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Yeah, OK, yeah, no, that's very valid. We might just
- 48:23Speaker 1: want to open up for nights for tomorrow.
- 48:25Speaker 2: If
- 48:26Speaker 2: you look at me and stare at me with the
- 48:28Speaker 2: entitled face,
- 48:29Speaker 1: then, then you're even more motivated to say no. I'm
- 48:32Speaker 2: sorry, you're gonna be staring for 10 hours.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Fight, fight, fight. I did not know this. When was
- 48:38Speaker 2: Benson Boon announced here in
- 48:40Speaker 1: Singapore? Oh, I didn't notice that either.
- 48:42Speaker 2: When 2nd November,
- 48:43Speaker 2: he's performing at the Star Theater.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Wait, what? I didn't even get tickets.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Hello.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I would have wanted to catch him actually. He's a
- 48:50Speaker 1: really good performer. When
- 48:51Speaker 2: was
- 48:51Speaker 2: this announced? OK, let me click find tickets.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Is it sold out
- 48:56Speaker 2: just
- 48:56Speaker 1: yet?
- 48:56Speaker 2: Uh, oh,
- 48:57Speaker 2: no,
- 48:58Speaker 1: it is it's sold out. I'm sure. But hey, great
- 49:01Speaker 1: venue for, for his singing though, for sure.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Oh man,
- 49:05Speaker 1: I would have wanted to catch him. This
- 49:06Speaker 2: is, I didn't know this. I just googled like concerts
- 49:09Speaker 2: in Singapore for the month of
- 49:10Speaker 2: November.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Maybe because it was sold out so quickly, they didn't
- 49:14Speaker 1: need to really promote it that much. That's the thing.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Yeah. So are you ready for a few more? Yeah,
- 49:18Speaker 1: sure. Lady, lady next
- 49:20Speaker 2: week. Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Shanghai at Capitol Theater, November 3rd. November 4th is Laney.
- 49:25Speaker 2: We got the likes of My Chemical Romance November 10th
- 49:28Speaker 2: and 11th, and of course not forgetting, Regina Song having
- 49:31Speaker 2: her own launch at Capitol Theater as well. Five Seconds
- 49:35Speaker 2: of Summer, November 16th, Georgie, 21st and 22nd of November.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Simple plan.
- 49:42Speaker 2: November 22nd, Khalid, November 24th. This one I'm going for
- 49:46Speaker 2: Guns N Roses.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Oh, you are, you're a Guns N Roses fan. I
- 49:50Speaker 1: never knew
- 49:51Speaker 2: this. Hello, it's only the soundtrack of my secondary school
- 49:55Speaker 2: days where all my friends are trying to play Slash's
- 49:57Speaker 2: guitar solo on guitar.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Seraphim on 28th and of course Baby Monster, both 28th
- 50:06Speaker 2: and 29th of November.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I mean, this is gonna take us to the end
- 50:09Speaker 1: of the year and
- 50:11Speaker 2: it's
- 50:11Speaker 2: a very expensive November and then of course BTS in
- 50:14Speaker 2: Singapore for 4 nights in December,
- 50:16Speaker 1: yeah. So, um, pretty much sums up 2026 concert schedule. 2027,
- 50:23Speaker 1: I think we're looking at that already aside from Bruno
- 50:25Speaker 1: Mars that was announced. Oh yes, yes, true, true, true.
- 50:28Speaker 1: OK, plenty to um spend money on over the next
- 50:32Speaker 1: few months. Time for some very unique food news. 1,
- 50:37Speaker 2: 23 food news. Food news.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Sonia with unique food news only because it involves coriander
- 50:46Speaker 2: and you mentioned something earlier, cake.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. So coming back from Taipei, I was just
- 50:51Speaker 1: telling Joe that every, everyone loves their spring onions, their chives,
- 50:57Speaker 1: their coriander, I'm not surprised gi and everything to the
- 51:00Speaker 1: point where they even Doritos has a coriander flavor in Taiwan,
- 51:04Speaker 2: by the way. I've tried it. Have you
- 51:05Speaker 1: tried it. It's actually not too bad. It's unique, but
- 51:07Speaker 1: I don't think I'll buy it again. Oh, you like it,
- 51:09Speaker 1: is it? OK.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Sport for you. I didn't
- 51:13Speaker 2: realize in
- 51:13Speaker 2: Singapore. Oh, they do.
- 51:15Speaker 1: I didn't even know that. See, clearly we are looking
- 51:16Speaker 1: for different things, but anyway, um, I want to give
- 51:19Speaker 1: a big shout out here to this particular bakery called
- 51:21Speaker 1: Sweet Stuff Bakery, OK? Um, she's decided to sell coriander
- 51:26Speaker 1: chiffon cake.
- 51:28Speaker 1: That looks like a pandan cake. I'm googling this. It
- 51:30Speaker 1: looks like a pandan cake, but there's bits of coriander
- 51:33Speaker 1: in it, OK? And she said that despite her own
- 51:36Speaker 1: kids really disliking coriander, she loves it.
- 51:40Speaker 1: And um she also makes garlic chiffon cake that pairs
- 51:43Speaker 1: well with chili crab sauce. That's why I said a
- 51:47Speaker 1: very unique piece of food news today. Is
- 51:49Speaker 2: the
- 51:49Speaker 2: coriander chiffon cake for revenge
- 51:52Speaker 2: gifting
- 51:53Speaker 1: apparently people like it. I mean, I think there must
- 51:55Speaker 1: be some sort of market for it. She's, well, her
- 51:59Speaker 1: name is Bee Loi. She has been selling chiffon cakes
- 52:04Speaker 1: and sponge cakes since the year 2007.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Um, so they've got 36 flavors of chiffon cake. So
- 52:10Speaker 1: I would say she's quite an expert when it comes
- 52:12Speaker 1: to this.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I'm looking at the coriander chiffon cake right now. Just
- 52:16Speaker 2: think of it as like rosemary or garlic bread,
- 52:18Speaker 1: it looks like herbs, herbs, right? Yeah. So, um, she
- 52:21Speaker 1: says it's savory.
- 52:23Speaker 1: And if you like coriander, you will love it because
- 52:26Speaker 1: it's very, very fragrant. So I'm assuming that there is
- 52:29Speaker 1: a market for it because it's available by pre-order only
- 52:32Speaker 1: at least 3 days in advance. She must have her
- 52:35Speaker 1: own market for this, but um, yeah, I'm actually kind
- 52:38Speaker 1: of interested to try, just try because it piqued my
- 52:42Speaker 1: curiosity now. Auntie
- 52:43Speaker 2: Bee Li, I placed an
- 52:44Speaker 2: order.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Yeah, um, apparently, you know, some colleagues and some people
- 52:48Speaker 1: who have tried it actually had quite nice reviews, so.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Uh, hey, we'll, we'll see, we'll see whether this will
- 52:54Speaker 1: be a hit, but if you're curious, Sweet Stuff Bakery
- 52:57Speaker 1: is over at Toa Payoh, quite near you actually. So I,
- 53:01Speaker 1: I assign you the, the task to go get a,
- 53:05Speaker 1: a coriander chiffon cake. If you really want it, then
- 53:08Speaker 1: we just try for fun, just try it for fun.
- 53:10Speaker 2: I'll find out
- 53:10Speaker 2: how to order it now.
