- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Beca Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two times People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing it.
- 0:14Speaker 3: But we're not just scrubbing in because it's Becca Tilly's bird.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Speech.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Speech, speech speech, I'm thirty seven.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Wait, do you want to open your cupcakes? Maybe put
- 0:27Speaker 3: some frosting on your nose.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I don't need to do that, but thank you. Tanya
- 0:32Speaker 2: brought me a bunch of hefty amount of mini cupcakes.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I wanted to get thirty seven. But that is felt silly.
- 0:40Speaker 2: That feels Oh that feels excessive. Yeah, how many is
- 0:43Speaker 2: this twenty four?
- 0:44Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:44Speaker 2: That feels perfect. Yeah that's the age I feel mentally. Yeah, physically, yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 2: thirty seven. I'm excited. I'm excited to be here. Another
- 0:54Speaker 2: year of life with the people I love, Phoebe and
- 1:00Speaker 2: just more things look forward to.
- 1:02Speaker 3: What do you want to bring in for this new
- 1:03Speaker 3: year of life?
- 1:04Speaker 2: Mmm? I would say my focus this year is going
- 1:10Speaker 2: to be I want to be better at making decisions. Oh,
- 1:17Speaker 2: explain well, I'm just thinking like if we're getting like eventually,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm sure this year will be the year that we
- 1:23Speaker 2: start wedding planning and I want to like be in
- 1:25Speaker 2: a headspace of saying what I want. And you're good
- 1:29Speaker 2: at that. Now, that's so funny. Someone said that to
- 1:31Speaker 2: me the other day and I don't, Oh, that was
- 1:32Speaker 2: you Mark. He asked if I had an opinion on
- 1:35Speaker 2: a chair situation or something, and I was like, I
- 1:37Speaker 2: don't care. I just want to if I don't, I
- 1:41Speaker 2: genuinely really don't care about a lot of decisions that
- 1:45Speaker 2: are day to day stuff, but I want to if
- 1:48Speaker 2: I do care, I want to let myself care without
- 1:50Speaker 2: feeling that I'm doing something wrong by caring, if that
- 1:53Speaker 2: makes sense, Like being assertive and what I want, Like
- 1:58Speaker 2: you want your dress shorterer, I'm gonna say I want
- 2:00Speaker 2: If I want my dress shorder him shorter, I'm gonna
- 2:02Speaker 2: say I want my dress him shorter.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrock for my wedding.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I was very vocal.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Glinda and the wedding are different. But I was
- 2:10Speaker 2: just saying I want to be and I also want
- 2:12Speaker 2: to be just like I want to have like peace,
- 2:17Speaker 2: and I want my relationships to have just a lot
- 2:22Speaker 2: of love and joy and like put time and care
- 2:25Speaker 2: into the relationships that I have. That's what I want
- 2:28Speaker 2: to focus on.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Okay, what do you want to leave behind?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Mm? I don't know. I'll think about it.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Nice.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know. I was doing like a soul
- 2:45Speaker 2: searching episode Today's. I wasn't prepared.
- 2:48Speaker 3: No, you don't know what I'm gonna throw at you.
- 2:49Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 2:51Speaker 3: So yeah, wedding planning in twenty twenty six, Well.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I'm sure. I'm sure we'll start like, well, at least
- 2:56Speaker 2: have to start thinking about location and stuff, because I
- 3:00Speaker 2: you have to book that so far in advance.
- 3:01Speaker 3: You really don't.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Oh really, I mean that's what everybody says. You have
- 3:05Speaker 2: did a year out?
- 3:06Speaker 3: We did it five months before.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, well yeah you did do it pretty so stressful
- 3:11Speaker 2: for you. Let's I don't want to be stressed doing
- 3:14Speaker 2: I want to be as least.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Stressed months having that window and trying to choose this one,
- 3:19Speaker 1: then that one was looking rocky for a second. You're
- 3:21Speaker 1: looking at Plan B like that was a stressful time. Yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 1: a year out, I feel.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Like it's gonna be a little more chill.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah. I saw someone say, like, just go ahead, make
- 3:31Speaker 2: all the decisions, as many decisions as you can. Ride
- 3:34Speaker 2: off the bat and that way, when it gets closer
- 3:37Speaker 2: to the date, you're not scrambling trying to figure out
- 3:39Speaker 2: like last minute details that really aren't, you know, like
- 3:42Speaker 2: the cutlery and stuff like that.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And I also feel like go with your gut is
- 3:46Speaker 3: like the biggest best advice because we went we the
- 3:50Speaker 3: hotel that we got married at, Suscros. After we visited it,
- 3:53Speaker 3: we both robbing and I were like, this feels so us.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Like this, this just felt every part about it, every
- 4:00Speaker 3: spot felt like it was us what we wanted. And
- 4:02Speaker 3: yet we still planned a whole weekend to like tour
- 4:05Speaker 3: other venues. And I feel like, not that it was
- 4:08Speaker 3: a waste, because it was still like fun, but I'm like,
- 4:10Speaker 3: I we knew in our gut that like that was
- 4:12Speaker 3: the ones. I feel like, if you feel it in
- 4:14Speaker 3: your gut, like, listen to that, don't try to challenge it.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I think you listen to it, but then you allowed
- 4:19Speaker 2: yourself to have other options, so you weren't going what if.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I think, that's fine?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Yeah, what you've got telling you now?
- 4:26Speaker 2: I literally haven't checked in with her to see I
- 4:30Speaker 2: think I think, what do you think everyone thinks? Hawaii? Yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 2: so predictable, might need to go, might need to pivot
- 4:38Speaker 2: just because everyone thinks it's gonna be St.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Paul, Minnesota, really keeping guessing?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah, so well, the the decision will be like where
- 4:52Speaker 2: what do we want the backdrop to be? Do we
- 4:54Speaker 2: want it to be ocean? And we wanted to be
- 4:56Speaker 2: trees and mountains? You know, So that's really what it's
- 4:59Speaker 2: gonna come down to, and then trying to find a
- 5:00Speaker 2: place that matches that vibe, which Hawaii does have all
- 5:04Speaker 2: those things.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Did you do La? Could you see yourself getting married?
- 5:06Speaker 2: No? No? Really really? Shall we play games or something? Well?
- 5:15Speaker 1: I have a couple of things. I have a celebrity
- 5:17Speaker 1: birthday game that's specific to today your birthday. And I
- 5:19Speaker 1: also put together some Becca Tilly trivia which we call
- 5:22Speaker 1: Beka tilvia. Wow, that and Tanya could play to see
- 5:26Speaker 1: who knows you better? I assume Tanya does, but you
- 5:29Speaker 1: never know.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Wow, let's do that.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Let's do let's play that game, because then I always
- 5:35Speaker 3: look like such.
- 5:35Speaker 2: A Let's do Let's do one game now and then
- 5:38Speaker 2: maybe at dear Bonia and then another game.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Great, okay, let's start with the trivia.
- 5:45Speaker 5: You'll be fine.
- 5:46Speaker 3: You answers already that would have been that would.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Shashu?
- 5:54Speaker 1: Should we give Easton first guests on these and then
- 5:56Speaker 1: you can clarify if he gets it wrong or vice versa,
- 6:00Speaker 1: or just yell it out. I just yelled at, yelled out, Hey,
- 6:04Speaker 1: Becca Tilly was originally on? Which season of The Bachelor? Numerically?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Oh?
- 6:09Speaker 5: Oh god? Which season? Was it?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Twenty one Easton twenty two nineteen? The answer, so we
- 6:19Speaker 1: give it to Tanya because she was closest.
- 6:21Speaker 2: No one, Okay, nobody got that right. You don't get
- 6:24Speaker 2: a point if you don't get.
- 6:25Speaker 1: A round fair enough? Zero?
- 6:26Speaker 2: Is that? Honestly? Both of you should have known.
- 6:30Speaker 5: All right?
- 6:31Speaker 2: I was on so I it was Chrysals, Yeah, nineteen
- 6:36Speaker 2: season twenty.
- 6:36Speaker 5: All right, how tall is Becca? In inches?
- 6:39Speaker 3: Five?
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's correct, It's not an inches, but that's correct. In
- 6:44Speaker 1: what city was Becca born? Now this one may have
- 6:52Speaker 1: changed because I was an older website. So you can
- 6:55Speaker 1: tell us the answer. How many tattoos does Becca here?
- 6:58Speaker 5: Zero?
- 6:59Speaker 2: Well, so I don't. I don't have anybody. I mean
- 7:03Speaker 2: I technically had two. They had faded, faded, moved, No
- 7:09Speaker 2: I had they were like, uh, they were called like
- 7:12Speaker 2: flesh tone colors or something, and then they like in
- 7:14Speaker 2: the sun and stuff. They just eventually faded of. I'm
- 7:20Speaker 2: so shocked. I never knew this. Wow. I had a
- 7:22Speaker 2: little tiny Jesus fish that was like.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Literally this big and right there on your wrist.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Wrist, and then I had a uh, it looked like
- 7:34Speaker 2: I took lipstick and kissed my wrist right here, so
- 7:37Speaker 2: it was like a lipstick kissing prend.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, wow it was. And then my sister and
- 7:46Speaker 2: I got it.
- 7:46Speaker 5: That's cute.
- 7:47Speaker 2: It's gone. My eyebrowser technically tattooed. Yeah there, that's what
- 7:58Speaker 2: I can still say too. I've talked about this before.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Your tattoos a plenty.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I'm not disappearing. I never know you have.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Jesus fish tattoo on your What is this part of your.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Rest risk innerest interest?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah, just a reminder. I can't say that you you
- 8:20Speaker 2: could for a long time, you could see it, but
- 8:22Speaker 2: it's fully gone.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Here's a couple more from the questionnaire Becca filled out
- 8:26Speaker 1: when she did the Bachelor. Name any of the four
- 8:29Speaker 1: things Becca lifted on her Bachelor questionnaire as things she
- 8:32Speaker 1: can't live without.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Jesus, wrong, TV, her family, family.
- 8:38Speaker 1: No, TV's family, Yes, TV. I'm going to give it
- 8:42Speaker 1: to you. She said Netflix, I'm going to give you
- 8:44Speaker 1: that one.
- 8:44Speaker 2: What questionnaire is this?
- 8:46Speaker 4: So?
- 8:46Speaker 1: I guess it was five things. There's five things on you.
- 8:50Speaker 1: You got one, you got you got family, and you
- 8:53Speaker 1: got Netflix.
- 8:54Speaker 3: So we can just keep going.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Sleep not on there, Taylor Swift.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Not on there?
- 8:59Speaker 1: Talk about no no, no, food is food is one
- 9:04Speaker 1: of them, which, by the way, she literally can't live.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Yeah, water, sleep, I'm what.
- 9:11Speaker 2: This questionnaire is? I have no memory of this.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And then she also said friends not to the TV
- 9:16Speaker 1: show like and Wi Fi? Simple, simple, gal, you said that?
- 9:24Speaker 1: All right, well here's the last one. But you may
- 9:26Speaker 1: not even know this one yourself. On that same questionnaire,
- 9:29Speaker 1: what animal did Becka say she would like to be? Oh?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Dolphin?
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you know Becca bass All.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I was playing. I was like, what did I say? Why?
- 9:42Speaker 1: Fire?
- 9:42Speaker 2: So? Why my Netflix? Are really strange?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Food? Family, Friends, Wi Fi?
- 9:47Speaker 5: Netflix?
- 9:47Speaker 4: I can we haven't done this before. This is such
- 9:49Speaker 4: a fun idea.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and I can't believe Jesus wasn't on there.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It's just a given. I didn't need to put it
- 9:58Speaker 2: on the questionnaire, right.
- 9:59Speaker 5: That's what he came.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Wow, that was interesting. I wonder how I wonder
- 10:06Speaker 2: if that was for.
- 10:08Speaker 5: What?
- 10:08Speaker 2: What was it? Does it say the source of what
- 10:10Speaker 2: that's wrong?
- 10:11Speaker 5: Well?
- 10:12Speaker 1: I think doesn't everyone have to do that when you
- 10:13Speaker 1: go on The Bachelor?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't know if it's public knowledge. Did
- 10:17Speaker 2: that get.
- 10:19Speaker 1: It's on Bachelor Nation wiki?
- 10:21Speaker 2: Oh? Wow?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Maybe they did and it was from ABC?
- 10:24Speaker 5: Do they got it from ABC dot com?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Oh? They probably used it as like you know when
- 10:28Speaker 2: they do the people's bios and stuff. But how uninteresting
- 10:32Speaker 2: that they use.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Well, so let's keep going since now you don't know.
- 10:36Speaker 5: So your biggest.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Date fear rejection?
- 10:40Speaker 5: Nope?
- 10:42Speaker 1: What did you put for that? One?
- 10:43Speaker 3: Bad kiss?
- 10:44Speaker 2: Her?
- 10:45Speaker 5: No?
- 10:48Speaker 4: Being stood up?
- 10:49Speaker 1: Nope, it's more it's very specific and something happening to her.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Nope, something happening, smelly breath, gas, spilling something on yourself?
- 11:03Speaker 1: No, time is getting real warm though?
- 11:05Speaker 5: Oh a book is it?
- 11:09Speaker 1: No?
- 11:10Speaker 5: No?
- 11:10Speaker 3: No, a fly down her? Fly down?
- 11:13Speaker 5: No? What did you say for that? You're getting warmer?
- 11:17Speaker 3: Bad breath?
- 11:18Speaker 5: No, it wasn't that wasn't.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It bad breath? That wasn't it something in her teeth?
- 11:21Speaker 5: Nope? Her biggest state fear?
- 11:23Speaker 1: You said gas and that's getting starting. Okay, here's what
- 11:27Speaker 1: she said ready back at having stomach issues and clog
- 11:30Speaker 1: up clogging up a toilet like dumb and Dumber?
- 11:33Speaker 2: What did I write this? This is so crazy?
- 11:41Speaker 3: The call back to dumb and Dumber.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Is really like that scene, and then the along came
- 11:46Speaker 2: poly scene like really stuck with me as scenario.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Wow.
- 11:51Speaker 1: By the way, the reason you wanted to be a
- 11:52Speaker 1: dolphin was they're beautiful and supposedly use twenty percent of
- 11:55Speaker 1: their brains.
- 11:56Speaker 5: Brilliant.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Who is this? I mean that's valid though.
- 12:05Speaker 5: If you won the lottery?
- 12:06Speaker 1: What would you do with your winnings buy a house?
- 12:08Speaker 2: Nope, I don't know, probably something complication by my family,
- 12:14Speaker 2: a house or something.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I think we've got enough of it here. I would
- 12:17Speaker 1: give a large portion to my family and then travel.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Exclamation point.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I still.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Oh, you have several most embarrassing moments you shared with
- 12:26Speaker 1: the nice folks at ABC. Can you name any of those?
- 12:30Speaker 2: Was one of them burping in church?
- 12:33Speaker 5: No? The list.
- 12:37Speaker 1: You say you have several, but really you only listed
- 12:40Speaker 1: one one.
- 12:41Speaker 2: What did I list? Oh? My god, this is crazy.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Once I was getting gas, is that ring any bells?
- 12:50Speaker 2: No?
- 12:51Speaker 1: And the guy asked what kind of gas would you like?
- 12:55Speaker 1: And I thought he said, what kind of guys do
- 12:57Speaker 1: you like? So I responded to all dark and handsome,
- 13:01Speaker 1: and he just stared at me and repeated the question.
- 13:07Speaker 5: This is so weird.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I feel like that never happened to you.
- 13:11Speaker 2: That does actually sound from but I'm just saying like that.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That's my most embarrassing moment that I'm.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Wow, you know, a simple Wi Fi Netflix friends.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Are Yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 1: One more from the questionnaire, what is your greatest achievement
- 13:30Speaker 1: to date at that point?
- 13:31Speaker 5: And you said.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Being an aunt?
- 13:39Speaker 1: No, no, any guesses the question the greatest achievement.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Getting to the show. Greatest graduated.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Staying in California and living alone when my sister and
- 13:55Speaker 1: brother in law went back home.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I was very proud of that because the I would
- 14:00Speaker 2: have had a very It was hard and I think
- 14:03Speaker 2: I I at that point, had never done anything that
- 14:06Speaker 2: was super independent on my own, So I think that
- 14:09Speaker 2: was a big deal because I had to just like
- 14:11Speaker 2: live with people that I didn't know very well and
- 14:14Speaker 2: figure it out and it was I felt very proud
- 14:17Speaker 2: of that.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I should have guessed that all right.
- 14:20Speaker 2: So they could. I couldn't have even guessed this myself.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Those are challenging, I feel like I was listening to
- 14:29Speaker 2: a stranger cog. That's craz That was weird to think
- 14:33Speaker 2: about it.
- 14:33Speaker 3: You were how old when she was feeling when you
- 14:35Speaker 3: were feeling that out twenty twenty five?
- 14:38Speaker 5: Wow?
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like a totally different person at twenty five.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah that was twelve years ago.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Wow.
- 14:45Speaker 4: You know where they say every seven years, like every
- 14:47Speaker 4: cell in your body has regenerated, so you like biologically
- 14:50Speaker 4: are a different person.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I'm nearly two different people. That is crazy. It is
- 14:58Speaker 2: so funny. You know when people are like, oh you've changed,
- 15:01Speaker 2: it's like thank god, like same. I'm glad to hear that.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Glad I haven't stayed the same in every way. Wow,
- 15:09Speaker 2: that was fascinating.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Okay, shall we take a break and do it, dear Bonia.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Let's do it here and there. All right, we are
- 15:35Speaker 2: back with some dear.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Bonya Jordans, says hi Becca easton Marcantania. Sorry, Tanya, I
- 15:42Speaker 1: am new to dating women, and I need some help
- 15:45Speaker 1: for context. I'm a twenty five year old woman and
- 15:47Speaker 1: I've known I've had an interest in women for years.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Last year I took the leap and officially started going
- 15:51Speaker 1: on dates with them. I'm so used to dating guys
- 15:54Speaker 1: and following the typical dating rules, like the guy paying
- 15:56Speaker 1: for dates or opening car doors or leaning in for
- 15:59Speaker 1: the first came when dating women, how do you know
- 16:02Speaker 1: who does what? I feel like there's been several dates
- 16:05Speaker 1: that have been awkward in these normal dating situations. I've
- 16:07Speaker 1: been on two dates with a girl recently, and I
- 16:09Speaker 1: think we're both too scared to initiate the first kiss.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Help.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I love this podcast so much, so thank you for
- 16:14Speaker 1: being amazing. Love you all, Jordan.
- 16:17Speaker 2: It's so funny.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I'm curious this too.
- 16:19Speaker 2: To be honest, I my whole thing is, I'm so
- 16:22Speaker 2: limited on my experience because I Haley's the only person
- 16:26Speaker 2: I've been I didn't even go on dates. I didn't
- 16:28Speaker 2: have like the typical dating experience in terms of but.
- 16:34Speaker 3: You still were dating her early on.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I know, but I'm saying, like I it wasn't I
- 16:39Speaker 2: was going on dates and like meeting different women and
- 16:41Speaker 2: then not knowing how to handle it. But it's funny
- 16:44Speaker 2: because my whole life I was very much a gender
- 16:47Speaker 2: role specific of like the guy does this, you don't
- 16:50Speaker 2: like I don't do this because that's a guy's role,
- 16:53Speaker 2: and there was almost something so freeing for me. I
- 16:56Speaker 2: think when I started dating Haley that I was like, Oh,
- 16:58Speaker 2: I can do what I want, Like I can make
- 17:02Speaker 2: the first move or I can buy her flowers without
- 17:05Speaker 2: having to feel like there was this like gender role assignment,
- 17:07Speaker 2: which I don't like anyways. And I think you just
- 17:13Speaker 2: go for what you feel because even when there's two
- 17:16Speaker 2: like let's say this email is coming from someone who
- 17:19Speaker 2: is dating guys. If she was scared to ask him
- 17:21Speaker 2: out or scared to make a first move, but she
- 17:24Speaker 2: could feel that there was chemistry there, what would we say.
- 17:26Speaker 2: We would be like, just go for it. What's the
- 17:30Speaker 2: worst that could happen there's no chemistry or it doesn't
- 17:33Speaker 2: work out, then you move on. You know, you've only
- 17:35Speaker 2: been on two dates. So if you're feeling it and
- 17:38Speaker 2: it's what you want to do, I say, just go
- 17:40Speaker 2: for it and don't get in your head so much
- 17:42Speaker 2: about the role of what of which things someone's supposed
- 17:47Speaker 2: to do? You know, Yeah, I feel like you would
- 17:51Speaker 2: thrive dating women in your modern woman the sense, like
- 17:54Speaker 2: you would just be like I think.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I thrived up dating men in my modern woman's sense,
- 17:59Speaker 3: like I always just did what I wanted. I was
- 18:01Speaker 3: never shy about anything like if I wanted to initiate
- 18:04Speaker 3: the first kiss, if I want to say I love
- 18:05Speaker 3: you first, like I just did it.
- 18:07Speaker 2: And my thing with the anything that's like a gender role,
- 18:10Speaker 2: which I assume would be like paying for a day,
- 18:12Speaker 2: who pays on days, who opens the door. I always
- 18:16Speaker 2: was just like I'm gonna do what I would want
- 18:19Speaker 2: someone to do for me, regardless of if a man
- 18:21Speaker 2: or woman. So I in certain ways like Haley courts
- 18:25Speaker 2: me and in other ways I court Hailey. Like there's
- 18:27Speaker 2: just it was never this like specific role that one
- 18:30Speaker 2: of us was a sign we I always say when
- 18:34Speaker 2: it comes to like stuff at the house, trash, she
- 18:37Speaker 2: always is like, I'll do the trash, like take out
- 18:39Speaker 2: the trash, and I'm like, yeah, that's a man's job.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I don't do that, but that's trash too.
- 18:45Speaker 3: We actually don't have those at all with either. Yeah,
- 18:49Speaker 3: he cook's eye clean. We both take out the trash
- 18:52Speaker 3: and it's full. Like there's a couple of things that
- 18:55Speaker 3: like are a little bit more like Tanya primary versus
- 18:58Speaker 3: like Robbie primary, Like I'm not going to be like
- 19:00Speaker 3: fixing like knobs and stuff their skills like that was
- 19:04Speaker 3: just yeah, like that he enjoys doing that. I enjoy
- 19:06Speaker 3: doing laundry, you know. So it's just kind of we
- 19:08Speaker 3: just like shifted into those roles.
- 19:10Speaker 2: That's how we are. It's like, what where do you?
- 19:13Speaker 2: What are the things that you enjoy more? What are
- 19:15Speaker 2: the things I enjoy more? We have to get certain
- 19:17Speaker 2: things done, so we both do them. So it's not
- 19:20Speaker 2: really gender. It's not a specific thing as as much
- 19:24Speaker 2: as it is just a personality type thing. So I
- 19:26Speaker 2: would just kind of try to let go of those
- 19:29Speaker 2: thoughts and traditions of what things are supposed to be
- 19:33Speaker 2: and just lean into the fact that you're spending time
- 19:36Speaker 2: with someone that you enjoy enough to go on another
- 19:38Speaker 2: date with, and that you have interest in kissing, and
- 19:42Speaker 2: if you want to kiss her, then kiss her.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Excellent advice. I want to read this one from anonymous,
- 19:47Speaker 1: although she points out her pronouns or she her, which
- 19:49Speaker 1: I appreciate.
- 19:51Speaker 5: That's helpful.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Thank you, beca how appropriate for today? Hello Becka Easton
- 19:56Speaker 1: Marcantania point on, thank you for such a wonderful podcast.
- 20:00Speaker 1: The truly is hard to be in a bad mood
- 20:01Speaker 1: when listening to your episodes. I listened attentively to all
- 20:04Speaker 1: the Dear Bonya episodes, and it's almost always a treat
- 20:08Speaker 1: when it feels like the advice applies to me. I
- 20:10Speaker 1: say almost always, because sometimes the advice is a little
- 20:13Speaker 1: too good and it makes me realize I have to
- 20:15Speaker 1: do something hard that I don't want to do. Case
- 20:17Speaker 1: in point, I've known I'm queer for a while, but
- 20:20Speaker 1: haven't told my parents because it didn't feel like I
- 20:22Speaker 1: had to. I didn't really talk to them about my
- 20:24Speaker 1: dating life anyway, but that changed when I had a
- 20:27Speaker 1: couple of conversations about transgender people with my dad that
- 20:30Speaker 1: were really painful for me. I feel passionately in solidarity
- 20:33Speaker 1: with trans folks in their struggles to live without oppression.
- 20:36Speaker 1: There's a reason that all the parts of LGBTQ plus
- 20:38Speaker 1: are under the same umbrella. Since I'd had these conversations
- 20:41Speaker 1: with my dad where he doubted trans people's needs, I
- 20:44Speaker 1: felt really uncomfortable being around him, which was super sad
- 20:47Speaker 1: for me because he and I are pretty close. I'd
- 20:49Speaker 1: always get upset having the conversations, but didn't want to
- 20:51Speaker 1: tell him why.
- 20:52Speaker 5: It was so personal to me.
- 20:54Speaker 1: It felt like I'd be handing over my agency to him,
- 20:56Speaker 1: since I wanted to tell my parents I was queer
- 20:58Speaker 1: under celebratory, not painful circumstances. But as the months wore
- 21:03Speaker 1: on and so did my resentment, I realized they had
- 21:05Speaker 1: to take Becca's advice and stride. The sooner you tell
- 21:08Speaker 1: your loved ones who you are, the sooner the healing
- 21:11Speaker 1: process can start. Yesterday I called my dad and told
- 21:14Speaker 1: him that I'm queer and that the conversations we had
- 21:16Speaker 1: about trans people made me uncomfortable around him. I had
- 21:19Speaker 1: jotted down some notes to myself to help me get
- 21:21Speaker 1: through the call, and one of them said, Becca Tilly
- 21:23Speaker 1: says that the sooner you do it, the sooner you
- 21:25Speaker 1: start the healing process. Thankfully, he responded really well, with
- 21:29Speaker 1: lots of apologies and love. I told my mom a
- 21:31Speaker 1: few months ago, so they both know now. Thank you
- 21:34Speaker 1: so much, Beca, for being so open about the hard
- 21:36Speaker 1: parts of family relationships and forgiving me the courage I
- 21:39Speaker 1: needed to reach out a hand in mind, in mind,
- 21:42Speaker 1: and thank you all for being so caring and for
- 21:44Speaker 1: putting wise words out into the ether where they find
- 21:46Speaker 1: folks who need to hear them. Ah, My love, A
- 21:49Speaker 1: grateful scrubber.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Man I'm so happy that you. To me, that's so
- 21:56Speaker 2: brave to have a hard conversation like that kind of
- 22:00Speaker 2: hear the truth of where your dad stood with you know,
- 22:04Speaker 2: trans people, and being able to also not only share
- 22:10Speaker 2: the such a huge part of who you are, but
- 22:12Speaker 2: also acknowledge that what he said hurt you like that
- 22:15Speaker 2: shows the relationship that you have with your family. And
- 22:18Speaker 2: obviously what a way he responded, I know, beyond like
- 22:24Speaker 2: I know that that we shouldn't be impressed by the
- 22:27Speaker 2: bare minimum, but for him to acknowledge his part in
- 22:30Speaker 2: hurting you and and also accepting you is such a
- 22:34Speaker 2: honestly rare gift that a lot of people don't have.
- 22:37Speaker 2: So I'm so happy it went well. And I'm so
- 22:39Speaker 2: proud of you because you not only shared something very
- 22:43Speaker 2: personal and such a big part of yourself, but you
- 22:45Speaker 2: also held him accountable and hopefully moving forward there's more
- 22:49Speaker 2: openness and being able to share the reasons why you
- 22:55Speaker 2: stand for what you stand for. And I am just
- 22:58Speaker 2: so incredibly proud of you, and I'm so honored that
- 23:00Speaker 2: I had anything to do with that.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that was such a beautiful story, like bottom middle end,
- 23:05Speaker 3: I know, just like yeah.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And hopeful and it makes you, I think.
- 23:09Speaker 6: It like you do something so scary and it turned
- 23:12Speaker 6: out so well, I know, and now you don't have
- 23:15Speaker 6: to tiptoe around or feel like you're walking on eggshells
- 23:18Speaker 6: around you know, your parents.
- 23:20Speaker 3: And I feel like a lot of people keep stuff
- 23:22Speaker 3: in because they're scared of like the responds and this
- 23:25Speaker 3: response was so great.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Yeah, there are so many people who just get influenced
- 23:30Speaker 1: by media, podcasts, friends, relatives, whoever it is, and they
- 23:34Speaker 1: develop these feelings about trans people, are gay people, or
- 23:38Speaker 1: whatever it is. But then when it happens in their family,
- 23:41Speaker 1: when it's their child, their grandchild, everything changes and they realize,
- 23:45Speaker 1: you know what.
- 23:45Speaker 5: It's not a big deal.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I wish everybody could imagine what it would be like
- 23:49Speaker 1: for it to be in their family, because then maybe
- 23:51Speaker 1: they wouldn't have these feelings to begin with. But some
- 23:54Speaker 1: people have the journey they have to go on. So
- 23:55Speaker 1: I think you have to give people grace.
- 23:57Speaker 2: And unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't change anything, you know, And
- 24:01Speaker 2: that's the truth. And I think that when you choose
- 24:04Speaker 2: to share these things, like for anyone who's listening who
- 24:07Speaker 2: thinks like that might not be my story, that's okay,
- 24:10Speaker 2: and you still you should do it when you're ready
- 24:13Speaker 2: and you are prepared for all outcomes, because sometimes it
- 24:17Speaker 2: doesn't go as smooth and they're not as accepting. But
- 24:20Speaker 2: I think that there's so much beauty and just being
- 24:22Speaker 2: able to share it with you and at least at
- 24:24Speaker 2: the very least it makes them think. It makes them think, Yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 2: it might not change anything, it might not go in
- 24:31Speaker 2: the direction you hope for, but it puts like a
- 24:33Speaker 2: little rock in their shoe where they will think about
- 24:35Speaker 2: it differently because it's someone that they love. So thank
- 24:38Speaker 2: you Anonymous for sharing that was really really special. We
- 24:43Speaker 2: love you, we love you. I'm proud of you, and
- 24:45Speaker 2: we love you and I love you. Okay, we will
- 24:49Speaker 2: be back with Tanya's favorite game, Yes, the birthday game
- 24:53Speaker 2: that she rarely wins but loves to play. Anyway, that
- 24:56Speaker 2: story all right, we are back with another game.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Well, a couple.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Would you rather before we play the game back? Would
- 25:22Speaker 1: you rather open presence in front of everyone or have
- 25:24Speaker 1: to make a speech at your party?
- 25:28Speaker 3: Speech?
- 25:28Speaker 2: I think speech.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Would you rather get a surprise appearance from Taylor Swift
- 25:34Speaker 1: or a heartfelt handwritten letter from Haley.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Like for my birthday, a surprise appearance from Taylor Swift.
- 25:44Speaker 3: The sheer length that took you to answer that is disturbing.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Would you rather have your friends roast you or give
- 25:50Speaker 1: you a sappy tribute?
- 25:53Speaker 2: Roast? Woo?
- 25:57Speaker 1: I probably roast is fun in the the first couple
- 26:00Speaker 1: of jokes I have being like.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I want to Yeah, they could go a little too.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Would you rather have to eat only cake all
- 26:08Speaker 1: day on your birthday?
- 26:09Speaker 5: Or not be allowed to eat cake at all?
- 26:13Speaker 2: Do you have other sweets? Can I have other sets? No?
- 26:15Speaker 3: It's either all cake all day or no cake at all?
- 26:18Speaker 1: No sweets, you think because you have pie, because candy.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Donut?
- 26:24Speaker 2: If I can have other sweets, I'll say no cake
- 26:26Speaker 2: at all?
- 26:26Speaker 5: All right?
- 26:27Speaker 1: And would you rather have a birthday dinner with your
- 26:29Speaker 1: younger self or your eighty.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Year old self?
- 26:35Speaker 2: My younger self?
- 26:38Speaker 5: To give her advice?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Just to have a chit chat with her little shot
- 26:43Speaker 2: investment tips? Yeah, I just yeah, some investment tips and
- 26:48Speaker 2: just to really think about her answers and the questionnaire
- 26:53Speaker 2: for ABC.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Some castide people are gonna ask you some questions.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Think about that.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah, just give some better answers, all right?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Here we go a birthday game, so I limited it
- 27:04Speaker 1: to today and then time you got mad. So we're
- 27:05Speaker 1: gonna do the whole weekend. Here we go, Bay, how
- 27:09Speaker 1: old turning?
- 27:10Speaker 5: Today?
- 27:10Speaker 1: It's this we're starting with huh.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Always start with you.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Here.
- 27:14Speaker 5: We're gonna tell you.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Becky Easton, all right, Matthew Morrison from Glee, Matthew.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Morrison is the same birthdays, same.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Birthday as you. Congratulations?
- 27:24Speaker 5: How old is he today?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Forty eight? Today?
- 27:26Speaker 1: He's not Becca?
- 27:28Speaker 2: Oh he? I think he's probably forty four.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Forty four Easton?
- 27:33Speaker 4: He is forty three?
- 27:34Speaker 1: Is forty seven? That's the point for Tommy.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Wow.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I was gonna say forty seven, wow, and then I
- 27:41Speaker 3: thought she's a little older.
- 27:43Speaker 1: How about Janelle Parish? Remember Janelle Parish? Pretty little liar's
- 27:47Speaker 1: got to seek great God to keep bat.
- 27:49Speaker 5: How old is she? Thirty?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Guy?
- 27:52Speaker 5: Becca?
- 27:56Speaker 2: Thirty eight, thirty eight?
- 27:57Speaker 4: Easton thirty seven.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Years thirty seven?
- 28:02Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 28:04Speaker 3: I would have said thirty nine. Anyway, No, we heard.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Easton?
- 28:08Speaker 1: How old? It's Henry Winkler today. He was the Fox,

- 28:27Speaker 2: Eighty one.

- 28:33Speaker 1: Tanya because she went.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Over who was losing? Oh oh, I see, I'll.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Only enforced the going over prices right role in the
- 28:42Speaker 1: case of a time. Gavin Rossdale from Bush. This is yours,
- 28:46Speaker 1: Tanya Gavin Rossdale formally married to Gwen Stefani. How old

- 29:00Speaker 1: the point right there.

- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, nanny issues there. Birthday final one from today and
- 29:07Speaker 1: then we move on to tomorrow. Model Ashley Graham. Ashley

- 29:18Speaker 1: Ashley Graham.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yep, Ashley Graham is she's probably yeah, she's I'm gonna
- 29:25Speaker 2: go forty one.
- 29:25Speaker 5: Forty one Easton.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Uh, I think she's younger than me. Oh so that
- 29:32Speaker 4: makes her thirty four Tanya.
- 29:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna guess thirty five.
- 29:37Speaker 1: She is thirty eight today. Oh my god, what did
- 29:40Speaker 1: you say? Forty forty one and Houston thirty five. So

- 29:55Speaker 1: Will Smith is twenty two? Okay, Tanya, this is tough.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Twenty four Becca twenty.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Three, twenty five is running away with this one. Yeah,
- 30:13Speaker 1: it's not over yet. Do I have a lot of
- 30:16Speaker 1: four to one to one tough to be? Well, we'll
- 30:18Speaker 1: see Becca vanilla Ice has a birthday tomorrow.
- 30:22Speaker 2: He sure does.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Rolling It is five point zero with the top wreck
- 30:26Speaker 1: top down so his hair can blow.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I was thinking about. I'm gonna say
- 30:37Speaker 2: fifty six.
- 30:39Speaker 5: He's not fifty six Easton.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Uh, he is fifty one, okay, Tanya, noa, that's the one.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna say forty nine.

- 31:49Speaker 5: He's thirty eight.

- 32:35Speaker 2: me a friend.
- 32:37Speaker 1: He's a major deal in this world. Yes, alright, I'm
- 32:41Speaker 1: giving you a photo of Tim Cook.
- 32:43Speaker 5: All right, there he is, that's Tim Cook right there?
- 32:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, all right?
- 32:47Speaker 1: How old is Tim Cook?
- 32:49Speaker 4: Tim Cook? Tim Cook is? He is a sixty eight?
- 32:56Speaker 2: Okay, Tanya seventy five, Becca sixty five.
- 33:02Speaker 1: He's sixty five.

- 33:24Speaker 1: is David Schwimmer?

- 33:26Speaker 5: She says, fifty four. We go to Becca fifty two,
- 33:32Speaker 5: fifty two and Easton fifty six.
- 33:38Speaker 1: He's fifty nine. That's the point for Easton. Rebecca is

- 33:45Speaker 1: just end it now. I think I'm going to have
- 33:48Speaker 1: one more here, and then I have to find another
- 33:49Speaker 1: one because then we're, you know, we have the three
- 33:51Speaker 1: with the rounds.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I think everybody say, I ay.

- 34:03Speaker 5: Howel is Nelly?
