- 0:04SPEAKER_01: Shining at the end of every day! This is a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Just a dream of.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to Mice in Main Street Men.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: I am Tristan.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: And I am Sean.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Well, how are ya?
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: I feel like I haven't talked to you in a minute.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Well that well, and we've had episodes that we recorded long ago, and then one imploded, I guess, and then we had another one.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: And but yeah, it's like we haven't been together in a while, it seems like.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: We've been busy working on things and working on the shows.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:48unknown: Yeah.
- 0:49unknown: Yeah.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: If we were geniuses, we would have gone into something that paid better.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: But we uh went into we went into happiness rather than uh financial freedom, I guess.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Dang that happiness.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Which I think I'd take over it.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: So it's all good.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I I would too.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And uh so we're gonna kind of we've got some March Madness brackets in here.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: We we We're embracing the sports ball.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: We are embracing the sports ball.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: If you can't if you can't beat them, join them.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And I did I did Google to see, I was like, is March Madness over?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And it sounds like it's just beginning.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Just beginning this week.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, and and goes for like until the what April 4th or something.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: So I know that because our show is preempted on one of our stations.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Uh oh work for Thursday and Friday this week.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So all right.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Well, so we're here we are with our finger on the pulse of the nation.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: With a bracket.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's it's very exciting.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So you you kind of helped me seed this a little bit.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: We're doing quick service and table service, and we're gonna pair them together.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, because I thought, you know, everybody does attractions, we've done attractions.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: In fact, because I think that we did, but you reminded me.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Because well, because I think somehow last year we ended up, you and Savannah did the brackets, yeah, and then Jackie and I did the same brackets the next week without knowing what you had chosen.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And so, but I was like, what could we do that that would be outside of the box?
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and I thought, what about dining?
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: And I will tell the viewers, listeners, you're not viewers, audio visitors.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: There it is.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Um audio visitors, yes, they can view, but it doesn't do much.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I recorded so many living locals today that viewers is just on my mind.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: But yes, audio visitor.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Um, if you want a good chuckle though, and haven't listened to the the latest Chat Geppetto episode, go back and listen to it.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: It God bless him off the rails.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Jackie was hoping our dining might include trash can picnic, and I'm like, no, trash can picnic is not part of the brackets because that's it's an experience, it's not a true dining option.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Trash can picnic and shrimp mulch were shrimp mulch.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I did have to go back and listen because we recorded that one several couple of weeks at least before it aired, and so people were commenting and Kimberly and and Jonathan and some of our regulars were commenting, and I was like, What did we say?
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I know I'm gonna be able to do that.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: We do some of our best work recording late at night.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: So yeah, and I had a great question too to be like, what are they talking about?
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh my god, shrimp mulch.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: How could we shrimp mulch?
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: I I don't know.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Well, hopefully this episode will be more appetizing than shrimp mulch.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there'll be no shrimp mulch.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Uh, but let's start on the table service side of the bracket and see what are you now here.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: So, all right.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: In the first uh the first round here, we got uh Cinderella's Royal Table versus Ohana.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: And I guess we should say we have each completed our brackets, correct?
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: We have, yes.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: We both have kind of seen what we each have uh created ourselves here, and I I will be curious, uh I was a little surprised at one of my answers ultimately, and not terribly surprised at my other.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: So I um part of it was this part of it was the luck of the draw here because I had I had pulled 16 quick service and quick 16 table service, but then you had the magic randomizer random.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, and a couple, especially on the table service side, a couple of them I was very distressed because things that I normally would have taken all the way to the final four got knocked out in round one because of what they were up against.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: But well, I know, I know.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: This got real tricky for a hot second.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Um, so so the first first round here, we got Royal Cinderella's Royal Table versus Ohana.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: What say you, Mr.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: McCall?
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, I was conflicted on this one because my answer would probably be different if you were like just going to Disney once and you had never experienced Cinderella's Royal Table because it is very iconic.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: It's you know, uh dining in that castle is amazing, but in my case, the noodles won out, and I I actually chose Ohana.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Now, I am I would assume that that is where you went, knowing your general tastes.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Is this true?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, that is where I went because I have never been to Cinderella's royal table, so I have never and you you need to fix that at some point, sir.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Well, I need to make a lot more money to fix that.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Well, I did realize as we as I was going down my table service brackets, I'm like, how many of these has Tristan actually dined at?
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Not well, more than I actually thought.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Um, so I was actually happy about that.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Now, Cinderella's Royal Table, given uh you know my wife's current position, I feel like we have to go there at some point.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: You really do, but also she can now afford it.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she can.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: I can still well, she'll she'll treat you probably.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: That would be nice if she did that.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: Um we went with Ohana.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: We both chose Ohana in that in that little matchup.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Yes, all right.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: All right, so the next round, uh, be our guest and Steakhouse 71.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Yes, okay, yes.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: So yes.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: I'm curious because you've been to be our guest, correct?
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: But you have not dined at Steakhouse 71.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: That is a correct statement.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: All right, so I'm curious which way you went.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I did you go with what you knew?
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I did go with what I knew because I did look up Steakhouse 71 because I knew enough about it, but lately the the reviews have not been uh stellar out of that, but neither have they been for BR Guest.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: So I went with what I knew in BR Guest.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: People are just cranky.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: I think they are people get cranky, people get so cranky, they really do.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: But and granted, I have not dined at either one within the past probably two years, but still I I have dined at them both, and I just had really good.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all, the chocolate boulevardier is something that Jackie still makes for us at home.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Um we stole that rebac that uh cocktail recipe, although now she's making the blazing barrels from uh from the beacon barrel for us at home.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it's so tasty.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: But I digress.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: Uh uh I went with Steakhouse 71.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: I I love I love you know being able to walk over and get away from the park and the food, at least when I dined there, was really pretty special.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: So Steakhouse 71 won that bracket for me.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna come back to uh how that paired up here in a moment.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: We're gonna keep going with the sweet 16 here.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so yeah, sweet 16.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Yep, skipper canteen in California Grill.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I've got to see that that killed me.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: That really killed me.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: I had a feeling it was going to.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: I was really upset.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: I know, I know because the way the sports ball bounces.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: And um, I'm told, I'm told that's the way the sports ball bounces.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I just because I love the skipper canteen, you know I do.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: I champion it and the congaloosh beer and the and the wonderful staff and the awesome food every chance I get, but it just I can't I can't not advance my California grill.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I had to leave the skipper canteen just sitting there.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I know you didn't.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: How about you though?
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Well because you have not dined at the California Grill, you've just heard me drone on and on.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: No, I have dined at the California Grill.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Um good, okay 10 years ago, but it was delightful.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Um and uh in a different life, but uh yes, California Grill.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: I did enjoy friends of mine uh bought us a dinner there and it was quite good.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna go to California Grill.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: I have not gone to the skipper canteen, it is on my list for the next time I'm there.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: So you really you really need to make the effort, especially as huge a fan as you are of the jungle cruise.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: I know, I know.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I think I've got Harper tucked into it.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: So I think we're gonna we're we're we're gonna be there.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Because who doesn't want to order the chicken?
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: It tastes like chicken because it is, right?
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: I know, right?
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: So I think I think it's on my next, it's on my my trip here in a couple weeks.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: So but maybe I'll change my mind because we're going to California Grill.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: All right, so we have agreed, we have disagreed, we have agreed again.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: And what about this fourth?
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: What about the fourth bracket over here on this?
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, so Liberty Tree Tavern or 50s, uh, or no, uh sci-fi.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Sci-fi.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Sci-fi.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: There it is.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 50s is further down the bracket.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Yep, sci-fi.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and I do well, no, you go ahead.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, no, no, no, go ahead.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: I was just gonna say uh again, this is a situation where I have not I've dined at one, but not the other.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: But uh I'm just but yes, go ahead.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Well, because I I have dined at them both.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: I do like the ambiance of you know sci-fi and watching the movie, but in terms of the food, I am an old school Liberty Tree person, and I just love Thanksgiving food.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and man, I I really I love the way each of those, you know, dining areas is you know, very specifically something colonial.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: And I just uh the pot roast and the turkey and the stuffing's okay.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: But um, I've just I've been a fan for too long.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: It was my mom's favorite place to go for lunch.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, so I went with Liberty Tree in this round.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: I uh I did as well, even though I have not been there.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I did look up the menu and I was like, well, that sounds delicious and perfect.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So I'm going, and I do like sci-fi, uh, but I'm going Liberty Tree as well.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: Good choice, sir.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Well uh we've only disagreed in one of our brackets thus far.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Thus far.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: So let's see if thus let's see if thus holds.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: So next is uh Chefs de France and Which is just fun to say.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it is really just sounds so pretentious and French when you say de France.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, and the Hollywood brown derby.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: Uh, and uh well I'm curious.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Uh, have you dined at both of these establishments?
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: I have not dined at either one, but you have raved about Chef de France so often that that is my choice.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm going with.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Wow, good for you.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Uh because I, you know, I do love the brown derby.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: I just had the grapefruit cake again recently on our last trip.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: So good.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: And that because that's one of those things.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, cob salad was invented at the actual Hollywood brown derby.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: In in Hollywood, where you know the Hollywood brown derby was originally.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Um, but they invented the cob salad and this grapefruit cake, which they have been serving at the brown derby since it opened in some form.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: It does seem like a new chef will come along or a new, you know, pastry chef will sort of reinvent it a little bit, but man, I or I ordered it on our last trip uh when we were there with gens, and that sucker was so tasty.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: So and that all that goes to say is try it the next time, but I too chose Chef de France.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: I mean brown derby with gens, I didn't even get that part of the floor.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Well, well, we we were able to we were able to order a a dessert.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, sure just being near there.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Um uh and that was oh oh so tasty.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So not the full meal, just a dessert.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: But so lucky to know him.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Uh uh.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: I know he had celebrated 50 years this this week, so we gotta say I I wished him a happy birthday, and he sent me a picture of his party location.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, wasn't that a yeah?
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: I'm he's gonna come on the show and talk about that because that is amazing.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he did.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: That is awesome.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: That will be great.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: All right, meanwhile, we both chose Chef de France.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: We did.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Um, all right, here we go.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: 50s prime time or tiffins?
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Again, have you dined it either, both?
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Uh just fifties.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I'm a simpleton.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: Not a simpleton, sir.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Just fifties.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: I no, it's because I go with children.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: That's why oh right, yeah.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Well, you're yeah Harper's coming to an age where she's starting to see.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna necessarily be true anymore.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: So no, and so you know, we'll get more adventurous, but for the longest time, you know, the the children kind of rule the day.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: The chicken the chicken tendies, as we say, were were the most adventurous palette tingler you had.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, so so which of those did you go with 50s prime time or tiffins?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: I did go with fifties, um, purely because I just have not had the experience of tiffins.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: I know about tiffins, I see it.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: Uh well, I I I actually concur here also, because I have never actually eaten at Tiffin's.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Now, I have eaten at the Nomad Lounge, which I believe shares a kitchen with Tiffin's.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: Um, and that food is darn tasty.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: And I've heard really great things, but I love the prime time.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: I love the ambiance, I love the servers, and I love the food.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: And so 50s prime time.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: 50s prime time wins my bracket as well.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: That's interesting.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: So we've had what one, two, three, four, five brackets, and we've agreed on four of them.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: That's pretty impressive, or boring for the listeners.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Or just boring as I'll get out.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: People are already tuning in to see what Lou Mangello said this week or what Beyond the Mouse is doing.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, so all right, up next, the San and Hel Inn or La Salier, which is yeah, so I went with the San and Helen because that's where I've gone.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: So I'm guessing I'm guessing you went the other way.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: Is my well then audio visitors, yeah.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Perk up your ears because we're gonna disagree here again finally.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: And I do, I do love the salon hell in.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: You have heard me speak of their mole.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Yes, I have, which I probably had over a decade, if not two ago, but it was that good.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Um, but in my book, it's just it's tough to top La Celier.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: They are a signature dining experience for a reason that is a darn tasty steakhouse.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh I love their Blanche de Chambly beer that they serve from Canada.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: There's just the pretzel sticks, you know, the pretzel bread that's on the table in the little wire cone.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: It just it is some good stuff, and they invent well, La Celie did not invent, but the Canadians invented poutine, and man, their poutine there is so tasty, like red wine reduction gravy stuff, just amazing.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: So La Celie won there for me.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right, all right.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Let's see what's next here.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, yak and yeti crown.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: Uh I I'm curious.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Uh well, have you dined of both?
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Neither.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Uh no, just yak and yeti.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Big fan though, of yak and yeti.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: So is that who you went with?
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: That is what I did.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: That is what I went with.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Well, the devil you know is sometimes the best devil to dance with.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: I'm sure that's a I'll I'll cross stitch that on a sampler.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'll the devil you know you know is the best one to dance with.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: We'll improve that along the way.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's good.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Or the yeti you know, the yeti you know.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, the yeti you know is the yeah.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, that should be a sitcom.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: The yeti yeti.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: It's the yeti you know, anyway.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Now I because I do love the Rosen Crown, but it's hard to get excited about a culture that embraces smashed peas.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Sorry, Tia.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, how dare you insult our biggest fans?
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: The fine cuisine of the yeah, because the the British people really do get a bad rap for for their cuisine.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Um the thing that Rosencrown has going for it, obviously, is it's is it's you know, got some lovely tables that that face the World Showcase Lagoon.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: And especially if you can get a table out there for the nighttime fireworks spectacular.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Um that is the and and not to mention that they have a full British, you know, pub bar with things like you know, strong bow on tap, which I'm a huge cider fan.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: So um things like that uh are pluses in my book, but I went with Yak and Yeti as well, because the Yeti you know is better than the Yeti you don't.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: That's that's truer words had never been spoken, you know.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: And and that that darn honey chicken, although you can get it outside at the walk-up, you can, but it's better inside, it's so cool, and it's a nice escape.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: And remember that hack because Landry's owns Yak and Yeti.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, and you can get those gift cards at Costco and then use them at Yak and Yeti, and and you can save sizably, like 20%, I think.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: $100 worth of gift cards for 80.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Well, that's thanks, Costco.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Want to be a sponsor?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: That's why people should use you as your travel agent.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Could you have tips?
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: You know, well, I try.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: All right, so that completes the table service side.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: Eight brackets.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: I think we agreed on six of them.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: All right, do we want to do the I I think I think to defer to the sanity, well, though, are are our audio visitors completely sane?
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: I hope so.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: So should we do the table service side?
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: I just I think we better stay on the table service or it's gonna get too in confusing.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: They're gonna have to like have a website with all of this in front of them if we don't.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Well, and you know, we could even do table services this episode, and then the next episode is the other side and finish it off.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: We could really make them wait for it.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Could make them wait.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Well, we could I don't let's see where the times ending up on this one when we get to that point.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Because you know, sometimes it's just best leave it up to the listener.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Maybe they want to stop, maybe maybe they want to stop after table service.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Maybe I don't know.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: We're gonna find out what their the vibe is.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: So all right, but let's so let's go ahead and go back.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: So uh so we got oh uh oh well we dis we disagreed yes, what is your matchup here?
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: So my matchup here is Ohana versus Steakhouse 71, right?
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Now I can imagine what you had advanced.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Uh because oh, because yours was Ohana and be our guests.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: So which one of yours advanced then?
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: What would you I I advanced Steakhouse 71 because while I do love the noodles at Ohana, I I was not as big a fan of the of the beef that was served.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: And I I just I like Steakhouse 71, especially their bar selection better.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: So I went Steakhouse 71 in my uh in my final four.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: So in my Final four.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: I'm going uh between Ohana and be our guest.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: I am I'm advancing Ohana.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: I'm going to advance it.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: I know that was how it's very predicted.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Now we both, we both, I believe, in our next bracket had California Grill and the Liberty Tree Town, correct?
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: I I advanced California Grill.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: I advanced California Grill as well.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: So well done, sir.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: So I have I have two restaurants in the contemporary now competing for the honors of the of the the titillating two.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: What do they call them?
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: There's it's the final four, but it's the I don't know.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Titillating two is great, and I I don't think that's it.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: I believe I believe someone's probably referred to us as that at some point.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Titillating two?
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: I think that is probably accurate.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: If not, if not, let's try to push that, shall we?
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: The titillating two having a table.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Well, we won't quite get to who won our titillating two currently, but you you in this bracket have Ohana versus California Grill.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: I have Steakhouse 71 versus California Grill.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: What about the other two brackets advancing?
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: So I have Chef de France and 50s primetime, and I think you have the as do I, yes.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: That is correct.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: All right, so out of those, I'm advancing 50s.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: I also advance 50s.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Because I love Chef de France, but it's you can't beat the pot roast, the meatloaf, or the chicken.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: No, you can't.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: And you just can't, or a peanut butter, and jelly milkshake, or some attitude from your server.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: I know it's great.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: So uh all right.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: So 50's prime time.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: And then we have uh the San and Hel Inn versus Yak and Yeti.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: Did we line up on that?
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: I think we did.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: No, because I have La Celie versus Yak and Yeti.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: All right, I'm advancing Yak and Yeti.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: I I thought you might.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I'm actually advancing La Celie.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: So so as I look, as I look at my bougie final four, my my bougie final four is very carnivore heavy because it's steakhouse 71 California Grill.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Although California Grill has great sushi and amazing things that are not just steak.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: But then my other bracket is 50s prime time, where I always order the pot roast or the sampler and La Celier.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: Fine steakhouse that it is.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: So my final four then is Ohana, California Grill, 50s prime time, and yak and yeti.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: That's my final.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: So who are you sending to the titillating two?
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: All right, so I'm sending Ohana to the titillating two and yak and yeti.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: So that's what I'm I'm sending.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: I'm advancing Ohana and Yakin Yeti.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: Well, this is our titillating twos are terribly.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: I can't come up with another T-word that's or I don't know.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: Anyway, mine are completely opposite.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: I advanced uh 50s prime time.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: And uh to the titillating two of those two.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Of of La Solier and 50s, I advanced 50s, and then of uh Steakhouse 71 and California Grill, I advanced California Grill.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Of course, of course.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: All right, so your titillating two is California G Grill and 50s?
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And 50s prime time.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: And so my titillating two is Ohana and Yak and Yeti.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: All right, what are you advancing into the number one spot there on this side?
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: I cannot, I cannot go against my tried and true favorite restaurant on the planet.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: And no surprise, I guess, to those who listen.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: The winner of my table service side is the California Grill.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: The winner of my table service side is gonna be Ohana.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: I thought I was gonna be, but I I had to do it.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: No, uh Ohana is pretty special.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Ohana has its devotees.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Plus, if you're eating at Ohana and I'm eating at California Grill, we can probably look out the windows and wave at each other.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think that's part of it for me is I just like the poly so much that I'm like, well, I know it's right there.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be really, really tiny.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: I probably should bring my binoculars.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Probably.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: So there we go.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: So you've advanced uh California Grill, I've advanced Ohana, and there we go on the table service side.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: All right, are we moving over to quick service?
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, we'll pause, give give our audio visitors a chance to either either you know go go away, come back to this episode, or stay tuned and find out what the titillating two on the quick service side are gonna be.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Hey, here we go.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: I bet I bet you've eaten in a lot more of these, huh?
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, I sure have.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's some that I haven't.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh, I need to, but most of these I have, yeah.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I looked up a couple menus too.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: A couple of my choices here truly surprised me.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: But uh, because when I looked at menus, I went, huh?
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: So, and I I will say I went through and picked out the 16.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: I tried to spread it amongst the parks, but with the table service, I threw in just a couple of resorts.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: All of the quick services, I stuck with the four parks.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: So, and then the randomizer did its work.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: So, all right, so here we go.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: Let's see, sweet 16.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Round number one.
- 27:50SPEAKER_00: Uh, we got Sleepy Hollow versus Woody's Lunchbox.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: I this is just ridiculous.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Nobody's even waiting with baited breath, I don't think.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: This is absurd.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm going to hello, obviously.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: You gotta you gotta love that, you know, the the hand pastry or not a pop tart because they'd have to pay somebody for that.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Um, what do they call them over there?
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Uh toaster pastry?
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Toaster is that what it is?
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: No.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Is it a toaster pastry?
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: It's a it's uh I can't remember, but it's no, it's weirder than that.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Fruity hand pie?
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Ooh, that's a good band name.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Fruity hand pie.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine fruity hand pie and shrimp mulch on the same bill?
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: My gosh.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: That's that's an eat to the beat concert if ever I heard one.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: However, however, I also I also in this bracket advanced the sleepy hollow because now I did go back and look at their menu.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: I was a little disappointed when it said, here's what we have.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: We have porn dog, or what is the other thing that's at the top of their menu?
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: Like funnel cake.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's the yeah, they have less over there than they've had in the past, too.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: But but then when I looked down under quick bites, the waffle with the spicy honey chicken is in it's in a quick bite.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: I'm like, that's not a quick bite, it's really more of an entree.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: That's a meal.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: But that that, my friend, is so t- Oh, it's the it's like the spicy maple chicken on the waffle.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: So yeah, there was no question.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: Spicy, spicy maple chicken, which is not, I don't think, a very good band name.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Cannot compete with the with the fruity hand pie.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: Uh spicy so we have both advanced, we have both advanced the sleepy hollow.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: We have okay.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Next, next uh mash up here.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: We got Columbia Harbor House and Pizza Fari.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: How'd you feel on that one?
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: I'm advancing pizza fari.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm a little surprised.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: Why is that, sir?
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Um I because them's fighting words a little bit.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: You just advanced a very now, granted, pizza is a is it's a good food, it's a staple of the American diet, but they just stuck the they combined it with the word safari.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: I know, but it works on me, you know.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: A lot of things do apparently.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I just want pizza, okay?
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: And so here we are.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: And I was thinking about pizza, and I'm advancing pizza fari, but go ahead and defend the harbor house because I'm sure it's a good one.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Well, it just has finer cuisine, sir.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can get grilled salmon.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: I know they have you know, they they don't call it salmon afari.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: Well, they could, and then you'd really have glad they don't.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: No, salmon affari.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: I'm glad they don't.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: I'm not a big or chicken afari.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: Chicken Afari.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: No, but no, I've I have advanced the Columbia Harbor House.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: I have I had a feeling.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: All right, next pairing.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Uh Cosmic Rays and Backlot Express.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: Um this How did you feel about these two?
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: So this did give me pause for a hot second because did it?
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: I've had good experiences at Backlot Express, to be very honest with you.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: But I that is where that is where I got on on May the 4th.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: I waited in an insane line to get my my Hoth my Hoth coconut cupcake thing that had a white chocolate adat on it.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: So it was very tasty, but it was it was a long wait.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: But ultimately, I went with cosmic rays because cosmic rays, I am a staunch defender of cosmic rays, and I know you are, and I'm a big fan, have no notes, and so I'm going with cosmic rays, even though I know the podcast community is like, Tristan, what you like cosmic rays?
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Yes, I do.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Hey, you you stand up for what you believe in.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: I think that's important.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna stand with you on this one because I go Backlot Express doesn't have an animatronic performer, and and that pluses it in my book, right?
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: So I went I went with cosmic rays in this bracket as well.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: All right, we stand defiant together, all right.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: We do suck it podcast community.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, unless you're like our beyond the mouse friends or Lou Mangello or somebody that likes, but there's so many people that are like cosmic gray.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: No, there's a certain podcast right now that is always always coming after cosmic rays, and I'm ready to really through my podcast app and slap them sometimes because I'm just like guys, wow.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: But uh well, to each their own.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: Um, and then okay, so up next, Satuly Canteen and Docking Base 7.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: This for me was pretty easy, Satuly Canteen.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: Uh uh as well for me.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, a docking base, I don't know that I've ever eaten there.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: And are they back to the tip yep?
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Are they calling it tip yip again?
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: I don't think they are.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: The tip like tip the the the the uh tip yep tip tip, tippy it's really hard to say, and I haven't even had a drink today.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: Uh tip yip, tippy backlash, which I don't know if that's a good band's name or not.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: But the tip yep, yeah, I think backlash.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: I think tippy backlash is good.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Tip yik backlash, you know, when they were like, we're creating this new world and we're going to serve you tippy, which is like chip chicken, and then people were too stupid, and they finally had to take tip off the menu and just say, It's chicken, it's chicken.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Um I think somebody said tip yip might have come back.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: I didn't bother to look because Thuli Canteen, I did check out the menu again, and man, I was like, Oh, I want to order this right now.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: It was like a chimichuri beef with their like spicy shrimp, well bowl and their breakfast.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: God, the breakfast too.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Jesus.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, everything, yeah.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: So Thuli Canteen, definitely and they don't know whether you've got a kid with you.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: Order the cheeseburger Baoban.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, they're not gonna check.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: No, they're not they're not gonna check.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: They're not gonna check if you have a child.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: They got better, they got bigger fish to fry.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: Um, and tip yip too.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: They got tip yip.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you can't you you gotta love the tip yip.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: Uh that that makes me in some countries.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, you so we both went with Satulli.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: Satulie, yeah.
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, uh Yorkshire, what is this Yorkshire?
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: Yorkshire Fish and Chips.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, I was right, the little standalone kiosks.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: I know what you're talking about now, right there that serves excellent, excellent fish and chips.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: And this is paired against Pinocchio's village host.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Host.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: Which yeah, because you know, Pinocchio is very German.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: It's not, it's an Italian fairy tale.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: Why why is he in a house?
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: A host?
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know why he's in a host.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: Uh that is a really good Pinocchio's, yeah, because it's not a German.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: Is it German?
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Not German.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: No, it's it's it's an Italian fairy tale.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Well, anyway.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: Anyway, we're gonna dig into that.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: Uh we'll digging into it with our tip yep.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Um, so Pinocchio's, I'm going with Pinocchio's.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: I am.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: Uh I absolutely went with the Yorkshire fish and chips.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: That's what you have to do for your life.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: So what makes the world go round?
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: All right, up next, all right.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: The cantina, uh right outside how Mexico there.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: And then Ronto Roasters.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Uh I am going with the Cantina because of their nachos.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, and my Rontos Roasters experiences are limited.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: So oh well, see, because I have actually gone wrong.
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: I have not, I have not actually dined at the Cantina de San Angel.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: Um, I've heard their nachos are good.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: Sell me on their nachos.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, the nachos, listen to me.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: Best nachos.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: I am bad.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: They have a little bit of beef, they have the cheese, they have all the normal like nacho things.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: So far, you have not said anything that just wows me.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: It sounds like nachos.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, but they're not.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: It's seasoned in a certain way that'll knock you down.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: And I nachos.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: They're just you gotta you gotta get them.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: But I think you know, it's sometimes some things of the Disney effect, you know, you just like them more because you're there.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: And maybe the but get the nachos.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: It's a giant plate of nachos too, for like a because it's nachos average nachos in here.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: Well, I actually went with the Rontos Roasters because I I I, unlike you, actually really enjoy my Ronto Roasters experiences.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: It's just that spicy slaw, which is vinegar-based, thank God, because I hate mayonnaise and probably would have a very different opinion.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: But it's just that nice spice and that pita and that, you know, it's a really nice spicy sausage.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the breakfast version is also delicious and has egg, and I've I've had breakfast there.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm a big fan of the Ronto roaster.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: So that won my bracket.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: I'm advancing it.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: I am advancing it to the final four.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: Up next, Flame Tree Barbecue and Pizza Taglio.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: Is that how you say that?
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: I taglia, I guess.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Taglio.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: I was I was looking for I was now, I realized after I did this why I did not put the Regal Eagle on there.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: I have no idea.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: It was late at night.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: I was going, what are some quick services in Epcot?
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, I've heard really good things about the pizza place.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: So I stuck it on there.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: But what was your choice here?
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, my choice here was Flame Tree Barbecue, even though I know you claimed that it's stench.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: So I'm going with Flame Tree.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing, and this truly surprised me.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: When I pulled up the menu for Pizza Tartaglia, which is not, it's Taglio.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: Um, what's Tartaglia?
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: That's John Tartaglia.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: That's oh, John Tartaglia, yeah, that's does the Broadway Series XM channel and was in Avenue Cube.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: Uh Sunday Fun Day with John Tartaglia, which has nothing to do with this pizza or this podcast.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Uh but I looked it up that they only have pepperoni and cheese pizza.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Now, granted, the picture looks delicious.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: It is very good.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: I was like, But I was like, why would you not have Italian sausage?
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: You lost me at no Italian sauce.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: I would have to like buy a Ronto roaster and bring the sausage over, even though it's not an Italian sausage, and slice it up just to truly enjoy my pizza, I think.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: And so so for that reason, even with a funk, even with a funk down by the riverside, uh, I went with Flame Tree because I looked at their menu and I was like, ooh, baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: I could go for that.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: And it's so Flame Tree also won that bracket for me.
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: Uh up next, Harambe Market, which just got its refresh, and then Tangerine Cafe.
- 39:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 39:48SPEAKER_00: What did you go with?
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: I went with Tangerine Cafe, and it was kind of recency bias just because I had the bread situation with the dips recently.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: And it was delightful.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: But also the ceiling is really cool in there.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: So I like looking at it.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: But also, but there was the bread and the dips.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: If you've never had that sampler situation over there, it's incredible.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: So right, versus versus I pulled up the Harambe house menu and was like, meh, this is this is like pretty basic theme park fair.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, nothing really which stood out to me.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: I was like, no, thank you.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: So I also went with the Tangerine Cafe.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: And next time I'm there, I'll stare at the ceiling more because apparently it's worth a bit.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: You know, if you go on media, there's a great picture of the ceiling uh posted somewhere.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: I think I posted around Christmas time because I went in there.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: And then Savannah and I had gone in there last fall, and it was great.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: So highly recommend it.
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: Um again, I think of our eight brackets on the quick service side.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: I think we I think we matched on eight and on six of them.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: So all right, all right.
- 41:03SPEAKER_00: Well, here's my final four then.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: Which I realize we're kind of using in incorrectly.
- 41:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah because if we were looking at the whole all-over all bracket, this would be the elite eight because it would be four on each side, but that seemed a little confusing for this, so yeah.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: So uh I have Sleepy Hollow and Cosmic Rays, and no, no, you don't.
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: You have Sleepy Hollow and Pizza Fari.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: No, I have Sleepy Hollow and Cosmic Rays on the top, and then at the bottom I have Pinocchio.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, I see.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: Nope, we haven't gone that far.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: I got ahead of myself.
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: No, no, you advanced Sleepy Hollow and you advanced that pizza combined with Safari.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, nope, I got ahead of myself, and then I did Cosmic and Satuly.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: I got right so yeah, so of your sleepy pizza fari, what did you advance?
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: I went with Sleepy Hollow.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: Kel Saprize.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: However, you will actually be surprised that of my Sleepy Hollow Columbia Harbor House bracket, I also advanced your beloved corndog.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: Oh well, see, I it's beloved corndog.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's a good thing.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: Beloved corndog is good, actually.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: Or maybe more of a romance novel.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: I think Beloved Corn Dog.
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: Of a romance novel is a long band name, more of a romance novel.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: I mean it's it's novel.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: It's a long name.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: Regardless, we we both advanced sleepy hollow.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: And then now we both we both had cosmic rays and satouli.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: We did.
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: And I advanced cosmic rays.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: Yes, I I assumed you would.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: And I was surprised actually a little bit.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: I was I supported you initially, but I had to advance Satouli.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: And that's okay.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: I understand it.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: I showed it a little love.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: I showed the cosmic rays a little love, but man, that that you know, chimichuri beef with a spicy shrimp and a cheeseburger bow bun.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: And yeah.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: Plus, not to mention they have a wide variety of cocktails that sounded tasty.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: So that's a way into your heart.
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: It's a good cocktail.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: Uh okay.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: All right, so okay.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: So Pinocchios in the cantina.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: Your your bracket was completely opposite of mine here.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna advance Pinocchios in this situation.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: Good lord, sir.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: What was the last thing you had at Pinocchios that you found delicious?
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: Uh flatbread and tomato bisque soup that I dipped in.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: Well, you clearly had an answer.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: And so so good for you.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: Say, I will say I haven't eaten there much.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: I know some of the some of the parties and stuff, people have been like, oh yeah, the flatbread wasn't that great.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: Um, because a couple times it sounded really good, and I just sort of remember when I was a kid, Pinocchio's was like a hot dog.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: So anyway, in my Yorkshire fish and chips versus Ronto Roaster battle, I'm advancing the Ronto Roaster.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, fair enough.
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: All right, in the next matchup here, Flame Tree Barbecue or Tangerine Cafe, which is the same for both of us.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: I'm going to advance tangerine.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: I am.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: I actually advanced the flame tree because I've decided either either the funk is passe, because I haven't dined down there recently, so that River Stank.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: Um River Stank?
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: Is that a good band name?
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: I will I'll stop with the band names.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: We're gonna turn some people off.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: No River Stank.
- 45:04SPEAKER_00: River Stank.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I'm assuming they've maybe cleaned up the River Stank.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: And the the the idea of some barbecue sounds really good.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: And so I'm advancing Flame Tree.
- 45:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: All right, so your final four.
- 45:20SPEAKER_00: Yes, my final four.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: Who is your first bracket?
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: So it's Sleepy Hollow versus Cosmic Rays and Pinocchio's versus Tangerine Cafe.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: And I am Sleepy Hollow versus Satuly Canteen and Ronto's Roasters versus Flame Tree Barbecue.
- 45:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: All right, here's who I'm advancing then.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: I'll go ahead and go first here.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: I'm advancing.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be shocked by this, actually.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: So you're titillating two?
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: This is your titillating two, correct?
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: Titillating two.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: I'm advancing cosmic rays.
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: And I'm advancing tandoer cafe.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: Wait a wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: What?
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: You advanced cosmic rays over the sleepy hollow corn dog?
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 46:06SPEAKER_00: This is topsy.
- 46:07SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, Topsy Turvy Day is coming up, isn't it?
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: It's supposed it's April 1st.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:13SPEAKER_00: We would go back to our Notre, go to back to, you know, things I learned from a hunchback.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: And it's that Topsy Turvy is April 1st.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 46:25SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 46:25unknown: Yeah.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: Just wow, sir.
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: I know I just broke the podcast.
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: I think we're gonna have to pause for just a moment for for some of our regulars to to fathom what you just said.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: I'm doing it.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, that was long enough.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: Um, wow, because and I only I'm only more amazed that in my matchup between Sleepy Hollow and Satulli, I advanced the Sleepy Hollow Corn Dog.
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: And and and the waffle with spicy maple chicken.
- 46:57SPEAKER_00: Let's let's be frank.
- 46:58SPEAKER_00: Well, sure, sure.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: Because even though even though I do love Satulli, man, I just you sold me on the Sleepy Hollow Corn dog.
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm glad with the house made chips.
- 47:09SPEAKER_00: So I'm advancing Sleepy Hollow to my titillating too.
- 47:13SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 47:13SPEAKER_00: And what was your other bracket?
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: So mine was Pinocchios versus Tangerine, and I advanced Tangerine Cafe.
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: Well, good.
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: I'm finally glad we got Pinocchios out of there somehow.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: Um and that's of you're showing sophistication in your palette, sir.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: I I, on the other hand, between Rontos and Flame Tree, advanced to my titillating two on the quick service side, Rontos.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, interesting.
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: So my my titillating two are this are Sleepy Hollow and Ronto's roasters.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: So we're shaking it up here at the end if people actually stuck around this long.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: We are all right.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: So what are you advancing then into your your like championship?
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: My ultimate quick service winner?
- 48:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:05SPEAKER_00: Is the Sleepy Hollow Corn dog waffle with spicy maple chicken?
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: Wow, good for you.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: I I did.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: I was surprised.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: The the the fact that it rose to the top of my quick service picks, it truly actually surprised me.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Well, so what is your quick service winner?
- 48:28SPEAKER_00: My quick service winner is cosmic rays.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 48:33SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 48:36SPEAKER_00: Well shocked me too.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: Stand up for what you believe in.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: You know, I got I gotta give it some love.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: I feel what is I wish the menu because I did not look at the cosmic rays menu.
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: Well, it it's you know, it's like burgers.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: Sell me.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: There's there's there's a good burger there, there's a good spicy chicken sandwich.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Harper and Sav both love the chicken strips.
- 48:58SPEAKER_00: The fries are good.
- 48:59SPEAKER_00: You can also watch Sunny Eclipse, and I think that has a lot to do with it, but it's also one of the places that's open super late.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: So, like if uh closing at 11 and you want a burger or something, you can go in at like 10:30, you know what I mean, before the park closes.
- 49:12SPEAKER_00: And yeah, burger is great, and I know it's just a theme park burger, and I know that's what Jens is saying to himself.
- 49:19SPEAKER_00: Well, but it do you remember after I went to Disneyland and I I just raved about the Flows V8 cafe burger?
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: It's a big thing, and it is delicious, it really is great, like it's so good.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: So I have it, I had to give it the love because I I will tell you, I just pulled up their menu and they're getting a little bougie because the the featured entree is a truffle French onion burger at Cosmic Rays.
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: Yes, their bison, it's like a bison or something burger, but like it's it's quality.
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: So should we do this ultimate match here?
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: Are we gonna are we gonna go head to head on table service versus quick service then?
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, I mean it's hard to really put them to get put them up against it really is because yeah, I my California grill is gonna win in that matchup, and my Ohana is gonna win because I have I have Ohana and Cosmic Rays.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: You cannot get more opposite with those two.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: You really can't, and I had Sleepy Hollow and the c and the California Grill again.
- 50:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, that's there's there's there's that's little column A, little column B.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: That's diversity right there, my friend.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: Wow and that is what Disney dining is all about, and it is what we have celebrated this week in our sports ball type dining bracket.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: We really we really made something here, and uh well this was a lot of fun actually to kind of do that.
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: And uh it was thanks for the suggestion because we've done several of these now over the years, and we didn't want to have ourselves, and this is one that we have not done, so that was exciting.
- 51:01SPEAKER_00: It was.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: I hope I hope also for our audio visitors.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, and you know I hope it's made you consider what your favorite battle winners would be.
- 51:12SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, someone shouted at the podcast at some point when we made a horrible choice.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: I'm sure that they did.
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: The fact that Cosmic Ray is my favorite.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: I know some people are like, What?
- 51:22SPEAKER_00: How dare you?
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, listen, I I will defend it all day.
- 51:26SPEAKER_00: It's like what I do with Carousel of Progress.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: I will defend it and I'll be on the hill, okay?
- 51:32SPEAKER_00: Um here we are.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: You are honorable in your in your commitments.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: I am so I try to be.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: And for that, you're gonna win two tickets to tip yip backlash in concert.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: Wait, what was the other one?
- 51:48SPEAKER_00: Uh tip backlash.
- 51:50SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, uh what was it toaster fruity pastry?
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: Uh fruity hand pie.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: Fruity hand pie, fruity hand pie.
- 52:00SPEAKER_00: Yes, fruity hand pie was the other one.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, they should have a good time with those this week.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh, you know, if somebody wanted to get a fruity hand pie or a or suffer some tippy backlash.
- 52:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, mulch and concert.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: Uh, what is the best way for them to go do that?
- 52:22SPEAKER_00: Because they're Disney just dropped a bunch more deals again for the summer.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: So there are.
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: There's there's more deals.
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: There are kids dine free.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: Kid look at that, kids dine free.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: You could go have your kid uh eat free at any of these.
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: Well, if you decide to get the table service.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Uh well, and that's the the offer is for kids dine free with the quick service plan, but you can upgrade uh you know for less money than you would pay.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: It's like getting quick service, and you just pay the difference between quick service and table service.
- 52:53SPEAKER_00: So if you want to get the table service plan.
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: But yes, you should just visit that of mice and mainstreammen uh webpage and click on that link to my travel stuff.
- 53:03SPEAKER_00: I would love to help people travel to Disney for some delicious food or anywhere you're wanting to go.
- 53:09SPEAKER_00: And what are you up to these days, sir, in the quad cities?
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, I've got all kinds.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: There's a show I directed playing at Circuit 21 Dinner Playhouse through April 25th called Honky Tonk Angels.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: It's delightful.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, got some other projects that might be coming up as well.
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: I am heading down to the Disney World uh April 1st through the 5th.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: So I'll be down there and uh staying at Coronado Springs.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: I'm excited about that, Harper and I.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Is that that's Harper's Spring Break, correct?
- 53:35SPEAKER_00: That is Harper's Spring Break slash birthday trip.
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: Her birthday is on March 3rd.
- 53:38SPEAKER_00: Nice.

- 54:12SPEAKER_00: We do what we can, raising the next generation of Disney adults.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: We got to.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: Disney should be so thankful.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Um, but anyway, yeah, this was a blast, and uh, you know, it's always a pleasure to chat with you.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: And thank you all for listening, and uh, yes.
