- 0:30Speaker 1: in the world, twelve years strong. We got a great,
- 0:34Speaker 1: great Eagles Broncos preen game preview show coming your way
- 0:38Speaker 1: this week. This is going to be a fascinating game.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And joining us here is one of our good buddies.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Love having him on the first time. We wanted to
- 0:46Speaker 1: bring him back to dive into this matchup. Loosecataglia from
- 0:52Speaker 1: Predominantly Orange, My friend, how are you, and thanks so
- 0:55Speaker 1: much for joining us this week.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I am good, Jeff, thank you for having me back.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I think this is going to be a very interesting game. Yes,
- 1:02Speaker 2: to say the.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Least, absolutely is going to be interesting. And I guess
- 1:06Speaker 1: to start us off here low, I mean, the one
- 1:09Speaker 1: thing that I think is very interesting after four weeks
- 1:12Speaker 1: of play as it pertains to the Denver Broncos here
- 1:15Speaker 1: at this point, been an up and down season for them. Frankly,
- 1:20Speaker 1: and to be honest, you know, talking before the season started,
- 1:23Speaker 1: you know, whether it was with my co host, some
- 1:25Speaker 1: other guests as well, even you, I thought the Broncos
- 1:28Speaker 1: were going to be one of a couple quote sleeper
- 1:30Speaker 1: teams that we're really going to impress us this year.
- 1:33Speaker 1: They're two and two on the season. Right now, they're
- 1:35Speaker 1: at five hundred. So I guess to start this discussion
- 1:39Speaker 1: off in terms of what we may see on the
- 1:40Speaker 1: field against Philadelphia Eagles this week. Want to get into
- 1:43Speaker 1: the biggest strength of this Broncos team after four weeks
- 1:46Speaker 1: and then talk about the biggest weakness as well. So
- 1:48Speaker 1: let's start with the strength. What is the biggest strength
- 1:51Speaker 1: of the Broncos after four weeks of play here?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I still think it's the trenches that's been a
- 1:56Speaker 2: strength really since Sean Payton got here. The offensive line
- 1:59Speaker 2: is again excellent, and pass protection. Yeah, we have seen
- 2:03Speaker 2: the run game come alive these past couple of weeks
- 2:05Speaker 2: with JK Dobbins, So the Broncos are very good and
- 2:09Speaker 2: run blocking and all their assignments and setting up holes.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Obviously the past rush. I think we have fifteen sacks
- 2:16Speaker 2: through four games. That was going to be a strength,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I mean nothing. We had the same starting defensive line
- 2:21Speaker 2: from last year into this year. Say for obviously we
- 2:25Speaker 2: signed Drake Greenlaw but he's yet to play unfortunately. But
- 2:28Speaker 2: it's again the trenches and as you would know as
- 2:31Speaker 2: an Eagles fan, the trenches are the second most important
- 2:33Speaker 2: thing absolutely that the team needs to have settled other
- 2:36Speaker 2: than the franchise quarterback to win. So yeah, we're two
- 2:39Speaker 2: and two. Yeah, maybe we're not three and one or
- 2:41Speaker 2: four and oh, but we're strongest where it matters the most.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Expect to see a very good pass protection from our
- 2:48Speaker 2: offensive line, and expect to see Jalen Hurts definitely getting
- 2:52Speaker 2: pressured because we can get to the quarterback most every
- 2:54Speaker 2: week and that's gonna need to happen here.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Five, absolutely, flip side of things. What's the biggest
- 3:00Speaker 1: weakness on this Broncos team that you have seen what
- 3:03Speaker 1: we may actually see here in Week five against the Eagles.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think sometimes down to down on offense, we're
- 3:10Speaker 2: still pretty inconsistent. We still don't have a consistent go
- 3:14Speaker 2: to guy on offense. It's not yet been Sutton because
- 3:17Speaker 2: he can kind of disappear. Evan Ingram hasn't gotten going.
- 3:20Speaker 2: We traded Devon Valley. I remember I was on last night.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I said de von Vailey is going to be a dude, yep,
- 3:24Speaker 2: And we traded him to the New Orleans Saints. So
- 3:26Speaker 2: I would say, down to down, consistency on offense is
- 3:29Speaker 2: still a little up in the air. And believe it
- 3:31Speaker 2: or not, our defense just really hasn't been as good
- 3:35Speaker 2: as I thought it would be. We've actually allowed on
- 3:37Speaker 2: every single opening drive this year, albeit it's been a
- 3:39Speaker 2: field goal, but we're practically gifting the opponent a free
- 3:43Speaker 2: three points to begin each game. I don't know what
- 3:47Speaker 2: the deal is, but there's been times where Daniel Jones
- 3:52Speaker 2: justin Herbert like and even Jake Browning at the beginning
- 3:54Speaker 2: of the Cincinnati game like this, you can throw on
- 3:57Speaker 2: this defense, and I don't like that. Yeah, I've definitely
- 4:01Speaker 2: would have expected, especially in a secondary you know, a
- 4:05Speaker 2: little bit, things to be a little bit tighter. This
- 4:08Speaker 2: isn't as of now. This isn't the the shutdown, elite
- 4:12Speaker 2: defense that it was last year. Now we're still in
- 4:15Speaker 2: the first you know quarter of the season, so things
- 4:18Speaker 2: can change and maybe with another you know, if he
- 4:22Speaker 2: passer and Jalen hurts, the defense can again have a
- 4:24Speaker 2: strong performance. But I guess in the same way it's
- 4:28Speaker 2: similar to the Eagles defense, just it feels like a
- 4:30Speaker 2: slight regression far this year. Yep, despite having you know,
- 4:35Speaker 2: two very good defensive coordinators. It just you'd like to
- 4:37Speaker 2: see more. I'd personally like to see more from the defense.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And then again, obviously, the down to down consistency on
- 4:43Speaker 2: offense I think still isn't there yet.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Play by play with the Philadelphia Eagles, from a defensive standpoint,
- 4:48Speaker 1: you're gonna get amazing fantastic play from players like Cooper
- 4:54Speaker 1: dejen and Quinnon Mitchell. You know, even in terms of
- 4:57Speaker 1: your linebacker play with Zach Bond, you're gonna have some
- 5:00Speaker 1: fantastic plays being made. But then again, it's a theme
- 5:04Speaker 1: that we've been talking about on this show. The pass rush. Yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I mean the pass rush. The Eagles pass rush is
- 5:09Speaker 1: there to an extent, but they're not getting home hardly
- 5:12Speaker 1: any sacks this season. And on the flip side of things,
- 5:15Speaker 1: you talked about what the secondary might be for this
- 5:20Speaker 1: Broncos team. You've got Jalen Hurts. It's only passed for
- 5:23Speaker 1: six hundred and nine yards this season so far. It's
- 5:26Speaker 1: not a stellar passing game by the Philadelphia Eagles by
- 5:29Speaker 1: any stretch. But I mean that's a good segue into
- 5:31Speaker 1: the next topic here. Want to get into these quarterbacks.
- 5:34Speaker 1: What we're going to be seeing from bow Knicks and
- 5:36Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts. I mean bow Knicks this past week he
- 5:39Speaker 1: threw forty two times. Forty two times. He's and you know,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I was so excited to see the progression from him
- 5:47Speaker 1: this year, and we still certainly may see a ton
- 5:49Speaker 1: of progression, but he's kind of just been that middle
- 5:51Speaker 1: of the pack type of quarterback. When you take a
- 5:53Speaker 1: look at his NFL Quarterback Power rankings here, Jalen Hurts
- 5:57Speaker 1: again has a ton of rushing yards, as I mentioned,
- 5:59Speaker 1: only put up hundred and nine passing yards. My gosh,
- 6:02Speaker 1: Bryce Young and cam Ward lou they have they have
- 6:05Speaker 1: more air yards than herds here. So a two part question,
- 6:08Speaker 1: another two part question here for you about Nicks and Hurts. First,
- 6:11Speaker 1: with Nicks, what have you seen from Bownick so far
- 6:15Speaker 1: this season that you've liked from him and what you've
- 6:18Speaker 1: also disliked?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Sure? So, I mean Bonix is leaps and bounds ahead
- 6:23Speaker 2: of where he was at this time last year, and
- 6:25Speaker 2: that should be a thing because he's not a rookie anymore.
- 6:28Speaker 2: He's actually played quite well the past three games. I
- 6:31Speaker 2: think that first game against Tennessee has really kind of
- 6:33Speaker 2: brought down the ross stats because he threw two picks.
- 6:36Speaker 2: But as you know, Week one is just a fourth
- 6:38Speaker 2: preseason game. Yeah, he's got a one hundred passer rating
- 6:41Speaker 2: over the last three weeks, so I do think he's
- 6:44Speaker 2: playing a little bit better than the stats might indicate.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I definitely like that that he is pushing the ball
- 6:50Speaker 2: down the field. He is generally putting the ball where
- 6:52Speaker 2: it needs to be. We have had about four or
- 6:55Speaker 2: five big time drops already. Troy Franklin had to drop
- 6:58Speaker 2: it was going to be a fifty yard game, maybe
- 6:59Speaker 2: even walk in touchdown, and it went right through his hands.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I definitely like that he is progressed from at this
- 7:09Speaker 2: point last year to now. I like that that he
- 7:13Speaker 2: is definitely staying in the pocket more. He's not really
- 7:17Speaker 2: taking off and running as much. I'd like to see
- 7:19Speaker 2: him use his legs more, but you can see the
- 7:21Speaker 2: comfortability in the pocket. You can see the development from
- 7:26Speaker 2: last year into now. I will say that Sean Payton
- 7:29Speaker 2: is historically a five hundred coach in the month of September,
- 7:32Speaker 2: So him him being two and two when Broncs being
- 7:34Speaker 2: two and two, you know, it's it's it's par for
- 7:37Speaker 2: the course. It's it's It's what you would expect from
- 7:39Speaker 2: a Sean Payton coach team. As for weaknesses with Belle,
- 7:42Speaker 2: I do think the footwork at times is still a
- 7:44Speaker 2: little bit sloppy. I think it's a good thing, but
- 7:47Speaker 2: it's a bad thing. I think Boonix is such a
- 7:49Speaker 2: fast processor that if he sees something open, he really
- 7:52Speaker 2: he wants to get rid of the ball as quick
- 7:54Speaker 2: as possible. But that sometimes hurts, you know, footwork wise,
- 7:58Speaker 2: because he's maybe not getting his feet set. But as
- 8:00Speaker 2: he sees an open man, and if he just took
- 8:02Speaker 2: that split second to set his feet and deliver on
- 8:05Speaker 2: a clean base, you know, he maybe has a few
- 8:07Speaker 2: more completions. So I do think the mechanics at times
- 8:11Speaker 2: have still been a little bit shaky. But okay, I
- 8:15Speaker 2: mean I don't want to, you know, drink the orange
- 8:18Speaker 2: kool aid, but that's like kind of honestly it like
- 8:20Speaker 2: that's really been his only weakness is that, you know,
- 8:23Speaker 2: the footwork can get a little sloppy. But I mean
- 8:26Speaker 2: he's a second year quarterback. He's made what twenty one
- 8:28Speaker 2: starts in the NFL, so he's still developing. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 2: he's older for a second year player. He's twenty five.
- 8:35Speaker 2: But he's on the right track, and I think that
- 8:38Speaker 2: he's probably a little bit better than what the ross
- 8:41Speaker 2: stats might indicate.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Yeah s and I I mean, as somebody on the
- 8:45Speaker 1: outside looking at bo Nicks and what he's done so
- 8:48Speaker 1: far this season when he is outside the pocket, when
- 8:50Speaker 1: he is on the run, he's completing passes, and there's
- 8:52Speaker 1: something to be said for that in this league where
- 8:54Speaker 1: defenses have really stepped up their game over the past
- 8:57Speaker 1: couple of seasons. But you know, when we look at
- 8:59Speaker 1: Jalen Ertz here again, you know it's we are seeing
- 9:03Speaker 1: a bizarre, bizarre Eagles offense where they are dominating in
- 9:08Speaker 1: one quarter and absolutely crapping the bed in there. Not
- 9:11Speaker 1: the quarter, the half they're they're they're they're dominating in
- 9:13Speaker 1: a half and then the next half or vice versa.
- 9:17Speaker 1: There's a whole lot of nothing going on. I mean,
- 9:19Speaker 1: in this pass game this week against Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
- 9:22Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts didn't complete a pass in the second half.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean, it's so bizarre.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Second half, Yes.
- 9:27Speaker 1: It was ridiculous. As somebody on the outside looking in,
- 9:30Speaker 1: what are your thoughts about Jalen Hurts in this Eagles
- 9:32Speaker 1: passing game here, lou.
- 9:34Speaker 2: So I have I have very vocally been a lot
- 9:37Speaker 2: lower on Jalen Hurts than maybe most people. I think
- 9:41Speaker 2: he is a below average passer. And yes, the offensive
- 9:45Speaker 2: coordinators have switched for like the past five years, but
- 9:48Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts has never been a quarterback that you can
- 9:50Speaker 2: build a consistent drop back passing game with. That's just
- 9:54Speaker 2: not who he is. He doesn't see the middle of
- 9:56Speaker 2: the field well, not really someone who can play on
- 10:00Speaker 2: time and in rhythm, and he takes a lot more
- 10:02Speaker 2: sacks than you think despite having consistently top five offensive lines.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I know this is a little bit different with Dickerson.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I know he has been playing well, and I think
- 10:10Speaker 2: the interior overall just hasn't been up to snuff. But
- 10:13Speaker 2: I think a lot of those issues are magnified when
- 10:16Speaker 2: a new offensive coordinator comes in. Right, So, he was
- 10:18Speaker 2: pretty solid with Kellen Moore last year, but then he
- 10:21Speaker 2: gets a head coaching job and now you're kind of
- 10:24Speaker 2: seeing Jalen Hurts. His weakness is kind of magnified. And
- 10:27Speaker 2: then the year after Stiken got poached for the Colts,
- 10:31Speaker 2: it was, gosh, his name's escaping me. The quarterbacks coach.
- 10:34Speaker 2: He was the offensive coordinator after that in twenty twenty three.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yes, oh my gosh, why am I frighting? Oh yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 1: br Yes, yeah, you're right on the right track. He
- 10:46Speaker 1: was very unforgetta again, he was very forgettable. Yes, yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 2: The point here is that the offensive coordinator turnovers doesn't
- 10:53Speaker 2: really help Jalen Hurts. But I also don't think he's
- 10:55Speaker 2: not somebody that you can say, all right, Jalen, we're
- 10:57Speaker 2: gonna need you to throw the ball. Yeah, you know,
- 10:59Speaker 2: eighteen times. This has to get us back in the game.
- 11:01Speaker 2: That's not going to happen despite having elite weapons like
- 11:04Speaker 2: Brown and Devonte Smith. So I really think the Broncos
- 11:09Speaker 2: need to need to dare the Eagles to pass the ball.
- 11:13Speaker 2: I think they'll be able to stop the run because
- 11:15Speaker 2: I know the run game has had issues, but I
- 11:16Speaker 2: really think they need they need to get the Eagles
- 11:19Speaker 2: in a situation where Jalen Hurts has to throw the
- 11:22Speaker 2: ball because I think that's kind of the weakness of
- 11:24Speaker 2: this team overall, and I think that's kind of how
- 11:26Speaker 2: Denver wins this game.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, in Saquon Barkley only averaging about three point three
- 11:31Speaker 1: yards per rush this year. Yeah, really and Brian Johnson,
- 11:34Speaker 1: that's who the that's it was again very forgettable. However,
- 11:39Speaker 1: as look as we're moving along here, we're talking about offenses,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and I wanted to dive into before we go to
- 11:46Speaker 1: a break here. Lou wanted to dive in what we're
- 11:49Speaker 1: going to be seeing from JK. Dobbins, the rushing attack
- 11:52Speaker 1: and how that's going to be balanced with the passing
- 11:54Speaker 1: attack and what bo Nicks is hoping to do against
- 11:57Speaker 1: this Eagles Uh secondary again, who has quinyon Mitchell Cooper
- 12:01Speaker 1: Dejen They've been very very productive over the past few weeks.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I mean JK Dobbins having a very very nice season
- 12:08Speaker 1: coming off a number of injuries. Yeah, I mean he's
- 12:10Speaker 1: been at the forefront of the Broncos rushing attack. He's
- 12:13Speaker 1: got three hundred and twenty three yards rushing, which is
- 12:15Speaker 1: fourth in the league. And I'm wondering, how do you
- 12:18Speaker 1: see that balance really between the passing game and the
- 12:21Speaker 1: rushing attack really taking shape here? And in terms of
- 12:24Speaker 1: what we might see this week against the Eagles, what
- 12:27Speaker 1: are your thoughts?
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so, so Bonix's passing attempts last week. We're definitely
- 12:31Speaker 2: inflated because we had that two minute dro to end
- 12:33Speaker 2: the first half, so it was like pass play, pass play,
- 12:35Speaker 2: pass play. I do think Sean Payton really loves to
- 12:39Speaker 2: have a balanced run run pass split, especially now when
- 12:42Speaker 2: we have a running back like Dobbins. I'm going to
- 12:44Speaker 2: take a victory lap here. I was pounding the table
- 12:46Speaker 2: for months for JK. Dobbins on the Broncos, and so
- 12:49Speaker 2: far I have I could not have been more right. Yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 2: we are. I definitely think we are going to see
- 12:56Speaker 2: more of an emphasis on running the ball on Sunday
- 12:59Speaker 2: because I think I think we want to shorten this
- 13:01Speaker 2: game and get out of town with the win. And
- 13:03Speaker 2: seeing as we've had great success running the ball or
- 13:06Speaker 2: averaging over five yeards per Kerry, I really think Sean
- 13:09Speaker 2: Payton wants to get JK. Dobbins going to add a
- 13:12Speaker 2: layer to that in Week five. What Sean Payton did
- 13:16Speaker 2: with the run game more is instead of switching personnel
- 13:19Speaker 2: during series, he decided to more so keep in Dobbins
- 13:24Speaker 2: or Harvey for an entire series or most of a
- 13:27Speaker 2: series to see if they could get in a rhythm.
- 13:29Speaker 2: And both Dobbins and Harvey had their best games of
- 13:31Speaker 2: the season on Monday night football. So I think we're
- 13:34Speaker 2: going to see a heavy dose of JK. Dobbins. It
- 13:36Speaker 2: wouldn't shock me if he was close to twenty carries,
- 13:39Speaker 2: and it wouldn't shock me if bo Nicks was under
- 13:41Speaker 2: thirty passing attempts. I just think when you're in a
- 13:43Speaker 2: hostile environment like this against a really good secondary, but
- 13:47Speaker 2: against a defense that you can run the ball on,
- 13:49Speaker 2: I do think we are going to see Sean Payton
- 13:51Speaker 2: really try to get Dobbins and Harvey going, and I
- 13:54Speaker 2: think obviously, if you can do that, that's going to
- 13:56Speaker 2: open up the play action pass for Boonicks. You have
- 14:00Speaker 2: good downfield targets in Mims and Sutton. You have the
- 14:03Speaker 2: jump ball guy in Sutton, and then you have someone
- 14:05Speaker 2: like Troy Franklin who can definitely win on some of
- 14:08Speaker 2: those underneath routes and in the middle of the field.
- 14:11Speaker 2: And then obviously you have Evan Ingram, who I think
- 14:12Speaker 2: can get going here soon. But I definitely think you're
- 14:14Speaker 2: going to see a balanced attack unless you know we
- 14:17Speaker 2: fall behind and it's the second half, yeah, and now
- 14:20Speaker 2: needs to say, hey, Bo, you need to go win
- 14:22Speaker 2: the game for us. But otherwise you're going to see
- 14:24Speaker 2: a balanced attack. For sure.
- 14:26Speaker 1: It's going to be fascinating to see if the Eagles
- 14:28Speaker 1: are going to be able to stop that attack, quite frankly,
- 14:30Speaker 1: because sometimes I think Eagles luck maybe running out week
- 14:34Speaker 1: by week based on how they're playing on both sides
- 14:36Speaker 1: of the ball. So yeah, that being said, Louke, where
- 14:39Speaker 1: can folks find you on the social media's out there
- 14:41Speaker 1: just on the web if they want to connect with you,
- 14:43Speaker 1: Where can they find you? Buddy?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Sure? So I'm active on Twitter. My Twitter is Luscataglia

- 15:46Speaker 1: friend Louis Scattaglia from Predominantly Orange, a great, great site,
- 15:51Speaker 1: great great content if you want to follow more about
- 15:54Speaker 1: what's happening with the Denver Broncos. And as we're moving
- 15:57Speaker 1: along here, I'm gonna talk about the defense, specifically talk
- 16:01Speaker 1: about the trenches, because the one thing you know that
- 16:04Speaker 1: we've been monitoring over these weeks is how and you've
- 16:06Speaker 1: kind of mentioned it before the break as well. Eagles
- 16:09Speaker 1: left guard Landon Dickerson. I mean, he's been playing not
- 16:13Speaker 1: well at all, and I think it's due to a
- 16:15Speaker 1: nagging back injury that he's had since the preseason. He's
- 16:18Speaker 1: given up three sacks at this point, he's allowed thirteen pressures.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You mentioned the interior of the Eagles offensive line. They're
- 16:25Speaker 1: just not having that great of a season. Tyler Steen,
- 16:28Speaker 1: Cam Jurgens. You know, we're seeing Cam Jurgens a couple
- 16:31Speaker 1: times this season floating the ball over Jalen hurts his head.
- 16:34Speaker 1: When Hurts is in shotgun look. Landon Dickerson has certainly
- 16:38Speaker 1: been a weak link on this Eagles offense at this
- 16:42Speaker 1: point because of this injury, and I think the Broncos
- 16:45Speaker 1: are gonna do all they can to exploit not only him,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but the interior of the offensive line. How do you
- 16:50Speaker 1: see the Broncos defense and the defensive front really leveraging
- 16:54Speaker 1: and trying to get control of the Eagles offensive line,
- 16:56Speaker 1: which is in general a pretty good offensive line.
- 16:59Speaker 2: What are your thoughts here, Low, Yeah, So Vance Joseph,
- 17:02Speaker 2: our defensive coordinator, loves to blitz. He blitzes all the time,
- 17:04Speaker 2: and it just so happens that the Zach Allen is
- 17:08Speaker 2: on our defense. He led the NFL with forty quarterback
- 17:10Speaker 2: hits last year, so he could be in some vein
- 17:13Speaker 2: one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. Definitely
- 17:16Speaker 2: a top five defensive end. So I really think you're
- 17:20Speaker 2: gonna see Zach Allen and John Franklin Myers a very
- 17:23Speaker 2: underrated player. I think those guys are going to be
- 17:25Speaker 2: able to create a lot of interior pressure because they've
- 17:27Speaker 2: done it at a high level for over a year now.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I don't really think Vance Joseph is going to do
- 17:32Speaker 2: anything special in this game in terms of rushing the passer.
- 17:35Speaker 2: We blitz at one of the highest rates in the NFL.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Nick Benito, I think leads the NFL in quick pressure.
- 17:41Speaker 2: So I think you're going to see strong play from
- 17:43Speaker 2: Nick Benito and Jonathan Cooper, and I think our pass
- 17:47Speaker 2: rush works really well together because if you double team
- 17:51Speaker 2: a Zach Allen, well then you're gonna leave Nick Benito
- 17:53Speaker 2: with a one on one. If you try and double
- 17:56Speaker 2: Nick Benito, well then you're gonna leave Zach Allen maybe
- 17:58Speaker 2: one on one with Landon Dickerson. So I really think, again,
- 18:01Speaker 2: I'm not trying to drink the orange Koy, but I
- 18:03Speaker 2: really think Jalen Hurts is going to be I think
- 18:06Speaker 2: he's going to have his hands full with this pass rush.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I think, especially with this interior being kind of shaky
- 18:11Speaker 2: this year, I think you're going to see a lot
- 18:12Speaker 2: of interior pressure. DJ Jones. Our defensive tackle is not
- 18:16Speaker 2: anything special in terms of rushing the passer. But he's
- 18:20Speaker 2: he's he's six feet tall, so he's got a lot
- 18:22Speaker 2: of leverage. He's three hundred pounds, so he's definitely got
- 18:24Speaker 2: a lot of leverage on some of these some of
- 18:26Speaker 2: these centers. So I think he can get in the
- 18:28Speaker 2: backfield for sure and create some pressure up the middle
- 18:30Speaker 2: as well. Again, I don't think you'll see anything anything
- 18:33Speaker 2: different from the Broncos defense. I think Vance Joseph sees
- 18:37Speaker 2: the weaknesses along the Eagles offensive line, and I think
- 18:40Speaker 2: he is going to challenge his players to get to
- 18:43Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts and create some pressure, see if maybe we
- 18:46Speaker 2: can force a strip sack, a couple bat at balls,
- 18:49Speaker 2: maybe get off the field. Because I know Philly leads
- 18:51Speaker 2: the league in three and outs, so I definitely think
- 18:55Speaker 2: Van Siosa is going to prioritize that. But again, I
- 18:58Speaker 2: don't think it's going to be anything assidly different than
- 19:01Speaker 2: what we've done this year.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that I think the Bryan the Broncos
- 19:04Speaker 1: defense could absolutely eat this week. I really do. Yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 1: I think I think I think it's a possibility too. Yes,
- 19:10Speaker 1: Eagles are four and oh, but it's a it's a
- 19:13Speaker 1: bizarre the four and oh really for sure? Yeah, well, buddy,
- 19:17Speaker 1: before I let you go, you know, we always ask
- 19:20Speaker 1: our our guests on our Opposition Territory Show these two
- 19:24Speaker 1: questions about what's one thing each team is going to
- 19:27Speaker 1: need to hit on for a win. So let's start
- 19:30Speaker 1: with the Denver Broncos here. What's the one thing that
- 19:32Speaker 1: Denver Broncos are going to need to hit on for
- 19:34Speaker 1: a win against the Philadelphia Eagles this week?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Sure? So, I definitely think. I mean, the run game
- 19:40Speaker 2: has to has to get going. When you play, you know,
- 19:43Speaker 2: away from home in a hostile environment, you have to
- 19:45Speaker 2: be able to run the ball. And I am not
- 19:47Speaker 2: sure if we need bo Nicks to throw the ball
- 19:49Speaker 2: forty two times against the Vic Fangio defense. I'm not
- 19:52Speaker 2: sure he's quite there yet to be able to do it.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And I'm not sure we have the outside weapons to
- 19:57Speaker 2: consistently win against Quinnon, Mitchell and Cooper. So I really
- 20:01Speaker 2: think we're going to need to eclipse one hundred hundred
- 20:04Speaker 2: and twenty one hundred and fifty rushing yards to win
- 20:06Speaker 2: this game and to shorten the game. Yeah, but you're
- 20:09Speaker 2: also going to need to see some success with the
- 20:11Speaker 2: play action passing with the drop back passing game, Bonix,
- 20:15Speaker 2: you know, he's going to have to complete some passes.
- 20:17Speaker 2: But most importantly, the run game has to get going.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It got going last week against the Bengals, It's gotten
- 20:25Speaker 2: going almost every game this year, So I really think
- 20:27Speaker 2: this is when it's gonna have to be at its
- 20:30Speaker 2: best through the first five weeks of the season, for sure.
- 20:32Speaker 1: All Right, And on the flip side of that, what's
- 20:34Speaker 1: one thing the Philadelphia Eagles are going to need to
- 20:36Speaker 1: hit on for a week against the Denver Broncos this week.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah, So obviously, if Saquan can get going, that would
- 20:43Speaker 2: be maybe a huge surprise, because I'm not sure he's
- 20:46Speaker 2: gotten going yet this year. But I do think the
- 20:48Speaker 2: one way that the offense can can win against the
- 20:51Speaker 2: Broncos defense is maybe a lot of quick passes. Jalen Hurts,
- 20:55Speaker 2: you know, drops back three five step drop and gets
- 20:58Speaker 2: the ball out quickly on maybe some outrun near the
- 21:00Speaker 2: sideline to AJ Brown and Devonte Smith. Those six seven
- 21:03Speaker 2: eight yard gains on first and second down, those you know,
- 21:07Speaker 2: nickel and dime type of plays to sort of eat
- 21:09Speaker 2: up the clock and to get the passing game going.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I think is a way that the Eagles can win
- 21:13Speaker 2: this game because I don't think Jalen Hurts is going
- 21:15Speaker 2: to be able to drop back and wait for some
- 21:17Speaker 2: of these more long developing routes like I don't know,
- 21:19Speaker 2: like a post route or something or anything down the field.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I know both Aj Brown and DeVante Smith are very good,
- 21:25Speaker 2: you know, as downfield targets, especially AJ Brown because he's
- 21:28Speaker 2: so big and physical, But I don't think that's he's
- 21:31Speaker 2: going to be able to do that with how could
- 21:32Speaker 2: our pass rush is? So I really think the quick
- 21:34Speaker 2: passing game could be the key here for the Eagles,
- 21:37Speaker 2: and if they can have success with the quick passing game,
- 21:39Speaker 2: I think it could be a long day for the
- 21:42Speaker 2: Broncos defense.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yeah, great analysis and it's always great having you on low. Seriously,
