A century-old Wisconsin company, Kahlenberg Industries, crafts the iconic hockey goal horns heard in arenas across North America—though they’re just a small part of their marine and industrial equipment business. The tradition began in 1966 when Chicago Blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz installed one of their horns after loving the sound on his yacht. Today, 26 of 32 NHL teams rely on them, and even the new Utah Hockey Club commissioned a custom horn, taking a year to perfect.
