Speaker 1: I did not, martha washington, no, no, I was close.
• 3:49
Speaker 1: I was lincoln time.
• 3:52
Speaker 1: Now for the hemmingscom sold cars roundup for the week, all right here's our first vehicle of the day is going to be this you gotta go.
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: I like go.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: What in the world?
• 4:04
Speaker 1: Well, you know the sold cars round up over at Hemmingscom.
• 4:07
Speaker 1: This car appears and this car is a 1971 Chevrolet Nova.
• 4:17
Speaker 1: Yes, I don't think that it runs.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: It doesn't look like it runs.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: It doesn't even have a window in front of it.
• 4:23
Speaker 2: It's not like a Copo in disguise or anything that sat out in the rain.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: No, no, it looks like a fixer-upper.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: Does it have a motor?
• 4:32
Speaker 1: Probably not, but somebody thinks that this car is exactly what they need and it sold.
• 4:37
Speaker 1: The question is how much did it?
• 4:40
Speaker 2: sell for Is that original rust $1,500.
• 4:45
  Speaker 2: Really.
• 4:49
Speaker 1: Yes, it sell for that original rust 1500 bucks, really, yes, I have a feeling that this may be you said 71, so it could be would they have ss novas back then?
• 4:55
Speaker 3: yes, yes, yeah, I don't know some big block.
• 4:56
Speaker 1: No, I don't even know if this is that got that or not, but I will tell you before you put in your price, mr mars, uh, that, uh, I'm thinking that it may be something special.
• 5:07
  Speaker 3: That's what I would think.
• 5:08
Speaker 3: If Hemings is actually going to sell something like that, there's got to be something behind it.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: Well, it's not Hemings.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: Somebody used Hemings to put it up there, yeah right.
• 5:14
Speaker 3: But I mean they do some vetting to make sure nobody's ripping anybody off.
• 5:18
Speaker 3: So I'm going to say that's probably.
• 5:20
  Speaker 3: I'm going to say $10,000.
• 5:23
Speaker 2: I'm going to change mine to $3,000.
• 5:24
Speaker 2: I'm going to double my offer.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Well, it actually sold for $7,025.
• 5:29
Speaker 1: So my guess is you see, it looks like it has a car cover up on the roof of it.
• 5:35
Speaker 1: I would guess that this car was something special at one time, or trash bags, yeah.
• 5:41
  Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I mean.
• 5:42
Speaker 3: It could be an SS, it could be a 350.
• 5:44
Speaker 3: It could be an SS, it could be a 350.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: It could actually be 396, or yeah, a big block.
• 5:47
Speaker 3: Well, no, if we definitely wanted it.
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: It'd be a 427, but I don't think they put a 427.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: Why didn't we show that?
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: I know they do a 396.
• 5:56
Speaker 3: I just don't know if they did the 427 or not, I don't think, a SS down there in the grill.
• 6:01
Speaker 3: No, that's a hole to put the grill in.
• 6:06
  Speaker 2: That's a dead squirrel.
• 6:08
Speaker 2: Dead squirrel under there.
• 6:09
Speaker 2: Okay, the next one A 1966 Pontiac GTO.
• 6:18
Speaker 1: It's maroon, it may have aftermarket wheels on it.
• 6:22
Speaker 1: Boy, is that clean, is that sweet, oh look at the plate.
• 6:25
Speaker 2: Sl Boy, is that clean, is that sweet?
• 6:26
Speaker 2: Oh, I'd like to have Slick One.
• 6:28
Speaker 2: Is the plate yeah.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: Don't call them on the phone though.
• 6:32
Speaker 2: Because I don't think Slick One owns it anymore.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: Look at the background of the shot.
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: It's a cemetery.
• 6:38
Speaker 2: It's an old car, it is a cemetery.
• 6:40
Speaker 3: Look at that it's an old car.
• 6:43
Speaker 1: Maybe the owner died.
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: Cemetery Get that.
• 6:45
Speaker 1: Maybe the owner died, or the battery's dead.
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: Battery's dead.
• 6:47
Speaker 1: That's what it is.
• 6:49
  Speaker 2: I'm going $32,000.
• 6:52
Speaker 3: Mars, you said 66?
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll go 40.
• 6:59
Speaker 1: Okay Well, did you cheat?
• 7:01
Speaker 1: And look, jeff, no, I just.
• 7:04
Speaker 1: It went for $32,025.
• 7:08
  Speaker 2: I did not.
• 7:08
Speaker 2: That was just a heck of a.
• 7:10
Speaker 2: I've been losing for the past month, so that's a good win.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: That's a double win for you, that's a double win, and you know what?
• 7:16
Speaker 1: You hit it right on the butt.
• 7:16
Speaker 2: We're going to go with.
• 7:17
  Speaker 3: It's a good looking car.
• 7:19
  Speaker 2: It's a beautiful car.
• 7:19
Speaker 2: I wonder where the cemetery is.
• 7:21
  Speaker 2: Who is that?
• 7:21
Speaker 2: Who's laid to rest there?
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 7:25
Speaker 1: The next one is the 1978 International Scout II.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: You know, back in the day the International Scouts were not top of mind.
• 7:46
Speaker 1: Were they over there in Nederland?
• 7:49
Speaker 1: They, there weren't vehicles.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the international?
• 7:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, this clearly wasn't where if it was they, well they.
• 7:53
Speaker 3: They covered it up pretty good.
• 7:54
Speaker 3: The broncos got to be so expensive.
• 7:55
Speaker 3: People started looking for something else.
• 7:57
Speaker 1: Yeah well, this uh reminds me more along the lines of the chevy blazer back in the day.
• 8:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's about that size.
• 8:04
Speaker 1: It's a big, big utility and it's a two-door and I think does the top come off of it.
• 8:11
Speaker 2: It looks like it does, Apparently it does yeah, it looks nice.
• 8:13
Speaker 1: So anyway, 78 International Scout II.
• 8:16
Speaker 1: It looks all stock except for the wheels and tires, and it's a good-looking truck.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: How much do you think that that thing sold for?
• 8:27
  Speaker 2: I'm gonna go 27 000 I was gonna go 26 really yeah.
• 8:34
Speaker 1: Well, you'll be shocked to know that it went for 44 625 dollars.
• 8:39
Speaker 1: Ouch low miles, the low miles on it's it.
• 8:43
Speaker 3: It's got an LS and it's tubbed.
• 8:44
  Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: Your next vehicle Victim Victim Is a 1975 Ford Ranchero.
• 8:54
Speaker 1: Now, personally, this was not my cup of tea, any of the Rancheros.
• 9:00
Speaker 1: I wasn't a Ranchero guy, I was an El Camino guy.
• 9:03
Speaker 1: But that looks all stock again, except for the wheels on it, and it's very well done it's still in the shipping crate.
• 9:14
Speaker 1: Okay, you can call it that.
• 9:16
Speaker 1: All right, it's got the fake wood paneling on the side of it.
• 9:21
Speaker 1: I don't know, as if it would be something that I would buy no, it wouldn't be in second thought, but anyway it looks really clean.
• 9:29
Speaker 1: Uh, 75 ford ranchero, what do you think that that would bring it's?
• 9:34
Speaker 1: Pretty nice now that ranchero, uh, that model, you're 75, was it not based on the torino?
• 9:42
Speaker 3: sounds familiar I think they kind of got away from it by that time well, it wasn't.
• 9:47
Speaker 1: It wasn't something on its own.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: I mean, they didn't specifically make the ranchero that it's from something else it's got to be torino.
• 9:57
Speaker 1: Anyway, it doesn't make any difference.
• 9:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, how much do you think that that thing sold for?
• 10:01
  Speaker 2: I would go go for a 22.
• 10:03
  Speaker 2: I'm going 27.
• 10:04
  Speaker 2: 14.
• 10:06
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 10:08
Speaker 1: I guess, maybe it's because they never got it out of the crate.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: That would be something for you to buy over there in Neederville, right there.
• 10:14
Speaker 1: That would be a road trip car, you and Becky.
• 10:17
Speaker 2: The rockers look like they're intact.
• 10:18
  Speaker 3: It's El Camino.
• 10:19
Speaker 3: She's kind of an El Camino type person.
• 10:21
Speaker 3: We've looked at a couple of them Not much on the Ranchero.
• 10:24
Speaker 3: You always have to be complicated 1977 Ford F-150.
• 10:30
Speaker 1: This is what we used to call a step side.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: The other one was a fleet side.
• 10:35
Speaker 1: This is a step side because it had a step back there, step on the side.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: It's made the box in the back more narrow.
• 10:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, in the back more narrow.
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: Yeah okay.
• 10:52
Speaker 3: Um, it looks stock again, except for the tires and wheels on it.
• 10:55
Speaker 3: It's pretty clean it is.
• 10:56
  Speaker 1: Is that?
• 10:56
Speaker 1: Is that a mirror, or is that a light, a stoplight, a spotlight, spotlight.
• 10:58
Speaker 1: Interesting, because usually those would go through the a pillar, but this one doesn't, goes to the door on this one.
• 11:06
Speaker 2: There's not much of an A pillar if you look at that.
• 11:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, there's not much to work with there.
• 11:10
  Speaker 2: How much, Michael?
• 11:11
Speaker 2: You go first 15.
• 11:15
  Speaker 2: I'll go 18.
• 11:17
  Speaker 2: 16.
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: 16, 275.
• 11:22
Speaker 1: Now that would be a good, nice, clean, older, probably a small V8 in it, I would guess.
• 11:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, something you can work on.
• 11:30
Speaker 3: It's not all computerized.
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 11:33
Speaker 1: Our next one is for the highfalutin over there in Neederville, the fee-ha.
• 11:37
  Speaker 1: This is a 2012 Land Rover LR4.
• 11:43
Speaker 1: Land rover lr4 um, it probably just got out of the repair shop because it probably lives there, but 2012 land rover lr4 or a rapper video uh-huh, uh, notorious big, or something.
• 11:59
Speaker 1: So how much do you think that something like that would cost you initially?
• 12:05
Speaker 1: Because it, from what I understand, is not real reliable.
• 12:11
Speaker 2: I'm going to shoot the moon on this.
• 12:13
  Speaker 2: Please don't and go 30.
• 12:17
  Speaker 2: Really.
• 12:19
Speaker 3: Mm-hmm, what year did you say?
• 12:21
  Speaker 3: It was 2012.
• 12:23
  Speaker 3: 12.
• 12:23
  Speaker 3: Mm-hmm, I yeah, 30 is probably a good number, I'll say 25.
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: 19,845.
• 12:32
Speaker 1: Must be high miles.
• 12:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody wanted it really bad.
• 12:35
Speaker 1: And then the notorious DON video and our last one of the morning is the one that we're going to buy for the in-wheel time machine.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: The next in-wheel time machine is a 1973 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron.
• 12:49
Speaker 1: Oh man, it's about a mile long and it's green.
• 12:54
  Speaker 2: It's a hard top too, isn't it?
• 12:56
  Speaker 2: Look at that?
• 12:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, it has to be.
• 12:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's a vinyl top, but it's a hard top.
• 13:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it doesn't have the B pillar in there.
• 13:06
Speaker 2: Look at this Enormous.
• 13:09
Speaker 1: It's growing by the moment you could not fit that in your garage.
• 13:12
Speaker 1: How much 73 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron 22.
• 13:17
  Speaker 1: 12.
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: 21.
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: I got two.
• 13:21
Speaker 2: I know, jeff, you did Because I love that.
• 13:24
  Speaker 2: That's just me.
• 13:26
Speaker 3: All I can see is John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.
• 13:32
  Speaker 2: That's it.
• 13:32
Speaker 2: And when you go to your local heb or kroger, you got to park at three spots across on an angle.
• 13:36
Speaker 2: That's beautiful, pretty much.
• 13:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah, you bet.
• 13:40
Speaker 1: Look at that um can you imagine what that ride's like going down the road?
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: A feather, I'm thinking.
• 13:49
  Speaker 1: I'm thinking a big, a big mattress.
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: That's real gushy.
• 13:54
Speaker 1: They just kind of float across the roadway Like a Tempur-Pedic.
• 13:58

• 16:50
Speaker 1: Location wise, you're in, yeah you're a strange brewery guy, yeah yeah, you are, and so this is off of little york and hirsch roads and it's basically in a very industrial uh area with lots of warehouses and the brewery is inside this man's warehouse.
• 17:08
Speaker 1: I guess that, whatever business is in the warehouse, that he did well and he thought, well, I'll do something for the guys.
• 17:14
Speaker 1: Well, I have a brewery right here, and he does.
• 17:17

• 17:48
  Speaker 1: I think that's a great idea.
• 17:49
Speaker 1: I think that we should do.
• 17:50
Speaker 1: We're going to get some, we're going to get some new, we're working on wardrobes, I almost said it.
• 17:56
Speaker 1: I think that what we should do is get some, and you do, you have them over there at.
• 18:00
Speaker 1: I'm sure we could create something.
• 18:02
Speaker 1: Uh-huh, create some pickleball outfits, all four of us like bowling shirts.
• 18:06
Speaker 1: Oh no, no, this would be.
• 18:08
Speaker 1: We have to have some really tight, high 1970s shorts Like the 70s basketball shorts Yep.

  Speaker 3: We need those.
• 18:14
Speaker 3: I thought you were going to go for skirts.
• 18:18
  Speaker 1: Tennis skirts.
• 18:18
Speaker 1: See, you would think of that, I didn't.
• 18:21
Speaker 1: But that tells you a lot, tells everybody a little bit about you.
• 18:24
Speaker 1: All right, moving on, okay.
• 18:34
Speaker 2: Some of the stories making automotive news headlines coming up right after jeff does the cruise in an event and here we go.

• 19:46
Speaker 2: It's a charity event to get to raise money for the local charities in Montgomery.
• 19:53
  Speaker 2: So everything's good 95, 6 Pines.
• 19:55
  Speaker 2: It's a charity event.
• 19:56
Speaker 2: They're going to raise money for the local charities in Montgomery.
• 19:58
Speaker 1: So everything's good, everything's good there.
• 20:00
Speaker 1: Lots to do, lots to do.
• 20:00
Speaker 1: Tariff uncertainty looms for the public auto retailers as they assess what brands, models and parts could be impacted.
• 20:08
Speaker 1: Companies are peering for some disruption while hoping that lots stocked with new vehicle inventory and a boost from parts and service revenue will help them get through whatever they face.
• 20:17
Speaker 1: Significant portions of top public dealership groups new vehicle brand mix could be impacted.
• 20:23
Speaker 1: If the 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico happen, then Toyota, honda, nissan and General Motors are the automakers most at risk.
• 20:33
Speaker 1: This makes Asbury Auto Group, autonation Group, one Automotive and Lithia the most vulnerable companies.
• 20:44
Speaker 1: According to a spokesperson by the name of Mr Stevens, the groups have at least 35% of their new vehicle brand mix in those four most at-risk brands.
• 20:54
Speaker 1: The unequal impact of tariffs could mean that some automakers and dealers will have a major advantage over others.
• 21:03
Speaker 1: According to Jeff Lick, an auto analyst at Stevens, for example, the F-Series is only made in the US, so that's not an issue.
• 21:13
Speaker 1: The Silverado is also mostly made in the US, he said, but the RAV4, which is Toyota's number one selling model, is almost all made in Canada.
• 21:24
Speaker 1: Trump is also planning to announce details about tariffs on imported automobiles April 2nd.
• 21:29
Speaker 1: Planning to announce details about tariffs on imported automobiles april 2nd.
• 21:33
Speaker 1: The potential levies would further expand the impact of trump's trade policies on automakers outside of north america, such as kia and hyundai.
• 21:39
Speaker 1: Trump said the tariffs will be around 25.
• 21:42
Speaker 1: We'll have to wait and see how that works out.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: But that's the huge.
• 21:45
Speaker 1: The huge, no, no, oh, can you not through yet?
• 21:49
Speaker 1: You hear that it's not through yet.
• 21:50
Speaker 1: Oh, sorry, you're over here meddling in my stuff.
• 21:52
Speaker 1: I am meddling, dude.
• 21:56
Speaker 1: That's what it says here.
• 21:59
Speaker 1: Somebody wrote that word.
• 22:00
Speaker 1: Dude, where's my contract?
• 22:02
Speaker 1: That's the question many suppliers have been asking and automakers largely haven't been answering.
• 22:07
Speaker 1: It isn't necessarily because they don't want to.
• 22:11
Speaker 1: It's not a secret in the industry that in a time of potential trade war and great regulatory uncertainty, automakers are totally sure what to make, aren't totally sure what to make Roadmap beyond 2026, whether driven by internal combustion, hybrid or electric powertrains is hazy at best.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: So everybody's sitting on pins and needles.
• 22:30
Speaker 1: They're not selling it.
• 22:31
Speaker 1: Well, I can't say that they are selling EVs, not at the rate that they had hoped to.
• 22:36
Speaker 1: So there's a lot of EVs sitting on dealer lots.
• 22:39
Speaker 1: You could probably get a deal on one if you wanted to go that route.
• 22:42
Speaker 1: But people also aren't buying lots of automobiles to begin with.
• 22:48
Speaker 1: Right, it's kind of flat sales right now.
• 22:50
Speaker 1: Everybody's kind of hanging on Because, think of this you buy a new car and it's one of those that you're going to pay more for because of the tariffs.
• 23:03
Speaker 1: What if something goes wrong with it and you need a part?
• 23:08
Speaker 1: Is that part made in Mexico?
• 23:12
Speaker 1: If they build the car in Mexico, is it made in Mexico?
• 23:14
Speaker 1: That part now may or may not have the tariff on it.
• 23:19
  Speaker 3: It'll cost more.
• 23:20
Speaker 1: It'll cost more, if you can get it, because, remember, cars are assembled In time, so the part gets delivered to the assembly factory and then it gets put on the vehicle.
• 23:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, but if the vehicle's under the manufacturer warranty, you're not paying anything for that part.
• 23:37
Speaker 2: No, but you might not have a car Right.
• 23:39
Speaker 1: It'd be in the shop.
• 23:39
Speaker 1: You can't drive it.
• 23:41
Speaker 3: You can't wait on that part to get here.
• 23:43
Speaker 3: But then that gets into the whole cycle of people keeping the cars longer, which means the used car prices go up because there's less of them.
• 23:54
  Speaker 3: It's problematic.
• 23:56
  Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
• 23:57
  Speaker 1: Different story.
• 23:57
Speaker 1: High-level Japanese group, which includes a former prime minister, has drawn up plans for Tesla to invest in Nissan following the collapse of its merger talks with Honda.
• 24:07
Speaker 1: Following the collapse of its merger talks with Honda, this group is hopeful that Tesla will become a strategic investor, since they believe it is keen to acquire Nissan's plants in the United States.
• 24:18
Speaker 1: According to the report, Nissan in recent weeks has been searching for a strategic partner in the tech industry, with some board members suggesting Tesla and Apple as ideal targets.
• 24:33
  Speaker 2: The plot thickens.
• 24:35
  Speaker 1: Yes, it does.
• 24:36
Speaker 3: Because that would give Tesla a distribution network with dealers in place Ding, ding, ding, ding ding.
• 24:43
Speaker 1: We'll see what happens, but it's all in an uproar right now.
• 24:47
  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
• 24:48
Speaker 1: That people aren't really talking about, because nobody seems to know anything.
• 24:52
Speaker 3: Well, I think Anything they're going to share anyway, yeah.
• 24:54
Speaker 2: Elon needs to contact us and we'll let him know.
• 24:56
Speaker 2: That's right, we'll get it started the way things are going with Elon right now.
• 25:00
Speaker 1: I don't want to have anything to do with it.
• 25:02
Speaker 1: He'll come in here and say ah you owe more in your taxes, right?
• 25:12
Speaker 1: No, they're just going to get rid of the dead weight.
• 25:14
Speaker 1: Is that what it is?
• 25:15
Speaker 3: yeah, okay the waste and the fraud like that uh tesla.
• 25:16
Speaker 1: Speaking of tesla is going to recall nearly 380 000 us vehicles due to a power steering assist failure that could increase steering effort, particularly at low speeds, raising the risk of a crash.
• 25:27
Speaker 1: In the filing made public February 21st, tesla said some 2023 Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossovers which run on older software, may experience an overvoltage breakdown.
• 25:38
Speaker 1: There's a word overvoltage, potentially overstressing motor drive components on the printed circuit board.
• 25:46
Speaker 1: So be aware of that if you're a Tesla person.
• 25:49
Speaker 1: I can't imagine a Tesla person listening to this show, though, do you?
• 25:53
Speaker 3: Of course they do.
• 25:54
  Speaker 3: You think yes.
• 25:57
Speaker 1: Why do you think that it's a car show?
• 25:59
  Speaker 3: That's right.
• 26:00
Speaker 3: Car people are car people, that's right.
• 26:04
  Speaker 1: Well, that's good.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: I like that analogy.
• 26:06
Speaker 1: Thank you for that.
• 26:08
Speaker 1: Like I said, he's going to be cutting dead weight.
• 26:10
Speaker 2: You know he's going to be going, yeah giving me lots of confidence here.
