Speed on Green Cameras Launch | Washington DC News
Montgomery County is launching “Speed on Green” — a smart upgrade to red-light cameras that now catch speeders during green lights. These cameras, already familiar from red-light enforcement, will issue tickets for speeds over 11 mph above the limit. Drivers caught speeding and running red lights get one ticket — for the red light. Warning signs will be posted, and only two locations will start with the program this year: Colesville & Georgia Ave, and Colesville & University Blvd. Not every red-light camera gets one — placement is strategic for safety and efficiency.
