- 0:00Good morning , market movers !
- 0:02It is 6 am on Wednesday , March 18th , 2026 , here in the beautiful Pacific time zone .
- 0:09I am your host , Sunny Stacks , and you are listening to Spy Trader .
- 0:14We have a lot of movement to cover this morning as we prepare for a major day on Wall Street .
- 0:20The market is feeling cautiously bullish right now .
- 0:24The S&P 500 , which you might track via the SPY or VOO ETFs , is sitting at 6,716 , up about pointthree percent recently .
- 0:35We are seeing the Nasdaq100 or QQQ climbing as well , driven by some incredible momentum in tech .
- 0:42The Dow is trailing a bit but still in the green at 46,993 .
- 0:48The big news making waves this morning starts with the technology sector .
- 0:53NVIDIA has disclosed a staggering one trillion dollar order book for its Blackwell and Vera Rubin platforms .
- 1:00Yes , you heard that right , a trillion dollars .
- 1:04Micron , ticker MU , is also in the spotlight because they have already sold out their entire 2026 supply of highbandwidth memory .
- 1:13It is a recordbreaking environment for AI infrastructure .
- 1:17Over in the energy sector , the conflict in the Middle East has pushed Brent Crude above 101 dollars per barrel , which is boosting producers in the XLE ETF .
- 1:28We are also seeing a lift in financials like JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs because federal regulators are looking to soften capital requirements .
- 1:38However , not everyone is winning .
- 1:40Healthcare and consumer staples are lagging as investors move toward riskier growth stocks .
- 1:47Looking at the macro picture , all eyes are on the Federal Reserve today .
- 1:51They conclude their twoday meeting this afternoon , and while everyone expects them to keep rates steady at 3.5 to 3.75 percent , we are waiting to see if Chair Jerome Powell still thinks rate cuts are coming this year .
- 2:04Inflation is still a bit sticky at 2.4 percent , and those rising energy costs are making things complicated .
- 2:12In company news , keep an eye on Apple , ticker AAPL .
- 2:17They are facing some tough Chinese tariffs and have launched the iPhone 17e at a lower price point of 599 dollars to keep their market share .
- 2:27Meanwhile , Microsoft is in a bit of a legal tiff with Amazon and OpenAI over a 50 billion dollar cloud deal .
- 2:35So , how do we trade this ?
- 2:37I recommend a barbell approach .
- 2:39On one side of the barbell , keep your growth core .
- 2:43You can do this through the Invesco QQQ Trust or a tactical position in Micron ahead of their earnings tonight .
- 2:49On the other side , protect yourself from inflation and geopolitical shocks .
- 2:54I like the Energy Select Sector SPDR , ticker XLE , or even Gold through the GLD ETF .
- 3:02For some stability , the financial sector via XLF or JPMorgan Chase looks solid as regulations ease .
- 3:11If you want income without too much risk , the iShares Core U.S.
- 3:14Aggregate Bond ETF , ticker AGG , is giving a nice 3.92 percent yield .
- 3:21One thing to avoid right now is the Vanguard Real Estate ETF , ticker VNQ .
- 3:27With high interest rates and office vacancies , it is likely to underperform .
- 3:31That is your morning update .
- 3:33Stay smart out there and I will see you in a few hours .
- 3:36This has been Sunny Stacks with Spy Trader .
