Speaker 1: Now the Strait's going to be open to everybody, so
• 0:04
Speaker 1: it's international waters. Nobody's going to control it. We're going
• 0:07
Speaker 1: to watch over it. We'll watch over it, but nobody's
• 0:09
Speaker 1: going to control it. That's part of the negotiation that
• 0:12
Speaker 1: we have. They would like to control it. Nobody's going
• 0:14
Speaker 1: to control It's international waters, and oman will behave just
• 0:18
Speaker 1: like everybody else. So we'll have to blow them up.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: They understand that they'll be fun.
• 0:23
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:27
Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. Nice to have you with us on
• 0:29
Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got one big
• 0:33
Speaker 3: story for you, but a lot of caveats. The President
• 0:36
Speaker 3: holding a cabinet meeting, making it clear that he's not
• 0:40
Speaker 3: just working on one thing like Iran or oil prices. No,
• 0:44
Speaker 3: he's working on national security issues, domestic issues, job creation,
• 0:49
Speaker 3: inflation issues, showing exactly what the Trump America First Agenda
• 0:54
Speaker 3: is working on. Right now, we have the clips and
• 0:57
Speaker 3: we'll break it all down for you. It's the forty
• 0:59
Speaker 3: seven and it starts right now. Story number one, President
• 1:04
Speaker 3: Donald Trump's cabinet meeting was more than just routine. He
• 1:07
Speaker 3: gathered the Cabinet inside the White House, and he made
• 1:10
Speaker 3: it very clear exactly what his administration intends to do,
• 1:14
Speaker 3: how it intends to govern in the second term, Aggressive, unapologetic,
• 1:20
Speaker 3: and with a clear message that America is back in
• 1:23
Speaker 3: charge now, from Iran and national security to the economy,
• 1:27
Speaker 3: border security, an America's role on the world stage. President
• 1:31
Speaker 3: Trump used the meeting to lay out his administration's forecast
• 1:36
Speaker 3: as the defining issues he's facing and what the country
• 1:39
Speaker 3: is facing right now now. The biggest part of the
• 1:42
Speaker 3: meeting clearly came down to Iran, and it was obvious
• 1:46
Speaker 3: that Donald Trump was turning up the heat on Iran,
• 1:49
Speaker 3: making it clear that he believes Iran is in an
• 1:52
Speaker 3: extremely weak position right now economically, and he also intends
• 1:57
Speaker 3: to use that weakness for major leverage. Trump described Iran's
• 2:01
Speaker 3: economy as being on the brink of collapse, pointing specifically
• 2:05
Speaker 3: to the falling oil production, declining exports, massive inflation that
• 2:11
Speaker 3: has hit the country, and also growing instability inside of
• 2:15
Speaker 3: the country's government the present, saying this the Tehran is
• 2:19
Speaker 3: running out of time and also running out of the
• 2:22
Speaker 3: money they need. He said that economic pressure is exactly
• 2:26
Speaker 3: why the United States now has the upper hand in negotiations.
• 2:30
Speaker 3: The President also made it clear that he's not going
• 2:33
Speaker 3: to be bullied and if Iran thinks they can wait
• 2:36
Speaker 3: him out because the midterms, well they're wrong.
• 2:40
Speaker 1: And we have the strongest military anywhere in the world.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: As you know, you saw what we did with Venezuela.
• 2:47
Speaker 1: That worked out very quickly, and we we're doing really
• 2:50
Speaker 1: equally as well with But again people don't want to
• 2:54
Speaker 1: write about it with Iran. Iran is very much intent
• 2:59
Speaker 1: and work very much much to make a deal. So far,
• 3:01
Speaker 1: they haven't gotten there that we're not satisfied with it,
• 3:03
Speaker 1: but now we will be. We will be either that
• 3:06
Speaker 1: or we'll have to just finish the job. But the
• 3:10
Speaker 1: navy is gone, as they've said a thousand times, the
• 3:12
Speaker 1: navy is gone, their air force is gone. Everything's gone.
• 3:16
Speaker 1: And they're negotiating on fumes. But we'll see what happens.
• 3:20
Speaker 1: Maybe we have to go back and finish it, Maybe
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: we don't.
• 3:23
  Speaker 3: Right now.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: I mean, you can speak to Steve Whitcoff, Jared. They're
• 3:28
Speaker 1: doing a good job, but right now I think it
• 3:32
Speaker 1: looks like they want to just make a deal. They
• 3:34
Speaker 1: want to Maybe I don't think they have a choice.
• 3:36
Speaker 1: They're just going back to the internet because they get
• 3:38
Speaker 1: a club, or their economies in free fall. They have
• 3:43
Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty percent inflation, the money has no value.
• 3:47
Speaker 1: Their whole economic system is broken down. They thought they
• 3:52
Speaker 1: were going to outwait me. You know, we'll outwait him.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: He's got the midterms. I don't care about the midterms.
• 3:56
Speaker 1: So what happened last night, that was the prelude of
• 3:59
Speaker 1: the midterm. People understand that they know that very simple
• 4:03
Speaker 1: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I'm doing that for
• 4:06
Speaker 1: the world. I'm not doing it just for us, And
• 4:08
Speaker 1: we've had great support from other nations. By the way,
• 4:11
Speaker 1: we don't need it at all, but we've had great
• 4:14
Speaker 1: support from other nations. The problem is you always get
• 4:16
Speaker 1: the support when you don't need it. When you need it,
• 4:18
Speaker 1: you don't get the support.
• 4:20
Speaker 3: Now, the President wasn't done with warnings. He also addressed
• 4:24
Speaker 3: the growing tension surrounding the Strait of Hormus. Now, as
• 4:27
Speaker 3: you know, that's one of the most strategically important shipping
• 4:31
Speaker 3: lanes in the world. Roughly a fifth of the world's
• 4:34
Speaker 3: oil supply moves through that region, meaning any disruption sends
• 4:39
Speaker 3: the global energy markets into chaos now. Trump also made
• 4:42
Speaker 3: it clear that he is growing very frustrated with Iran
• 4:46
Speaker 3: dragging out the negotiations. The President says there will be
• 4:50
Speaker 3: no sanctions, relief, no money, no nothing unless it Ran
• 4:54
Speaker 3: agrees to America's demands.
• 4:57
Speaker 4: The sanctions on Iran to allow Uran to sell screw.
• 5:00
Speaker 1: Do you get no, We're not talking about any easing
• 5:02
Speaker 1: of sanctions, giving money, No sanctions, no money, no nothing.
• 5:08
Speaker 1: We have control of money that they claim is theirs
• 5:13
Speaker 1: will keep control of that money, and when they behave
• 5:16
Speaker 1: properly and when they do what's right, we'll let them
• 5:18
Speaker 1: have their money. But right now we're not doing that,
• 5:21
Speaker 1: and it's one thing that's not contingent on the other.
• 5:24
Speaker 3: The President making it clear strength first, pressure first, and
• 5:28
Speaker 3: absolutely no return to what he views as a failed
• 5:31
Speaker 3: appeasement policy of past administrations now. The President then moved
• 5:36
Speaker 3: on to border security and immigration. Another major focus of
• 5:40
Speaker 3: the cabinet meeting was just that. Trump praised his administration's
• 5:44
Speaker 3: cracked down illegal immigration and argued that aggressive enforcement measures
• 5:49
Speaker 3: are finally restoring order after what he described as years
• 5:52
Speaker 3: of chaos. Cabinet officials discussed increased deportation operations, expanded attention capacity,
• 6:00
Speaker 3: and then efforts to target cartel networks and human trafficking
• 6:04
Speaker 3: organizations as well. The president again tied border security directly
• 6:08
Speaker 3: to national security, arguing that weak enforcement policies allowed criminal
• 6:13
Speaker 3: organizations to gain unprecedented power around the world and inside
• 6:19
Speaker 3: the United States. Trump also emphasized what he says is
• 6:23
Speaker 3: a major difference between his administration and the Democrats. He
• 6:27
Speaker 3: says it's simply to terrans. According to Trump, the message
• 6:30
Speaker 3: now being sent globally is simple. If you enter illegally
• 6:35
Speaker 3: into the United States, you will be removed. Administration officials
• 6:40
Speaker 3: also discuss cooperation between federal agencies and local law enforcement
• 6:45
Speaker 3: as part of the broader anti cartel operations.
• 6:49
Speaker 1: We took the most dangerous, unsay violent, and open border
• 6:52
Speaker 1: in the world. Anywhere in the world has no border
• 6:54
Speaker 1: like the border we had, and created the most secure
• 6:57
Speaker 1: border in the history of our country. We had no
• 7:00
Speaker 1: people twelve months now, No people reported in the last
• 7:03
Speaker 1: twelve months came in illegally. Zero illegal aliens admitted to
• 7:08
Speaker 1: the United States in the last twelve months. And that's
• 7:11
Speaker 1: those charts are made by you would say, politically unfriendly
• 7:14
Speaker 1: people and the reason they don't come in is because
• 7:17
Speaker 1: nobody comes up because they know that they're going to
• 7:20
Speaker 1: be turned away and if they get in, they're going
• 7:22
Speaker 1: to be moved out right away. So it's been zero.
• 7:25
Speaker 1: You're the one that you do the reports. I'm actually
• 7:28
Speaker 1: surprised by the number because I don't know how it
• 7:29
Speaker 1: can be zero, but they say at zero. For the
• 7:32
Speaker 1: last twelve months and twenty twenty five, we achieved the
• 7:35
Speaker 1: largest drop and the murder rate ever recorded. So the
• 7:39
Speaker 1: murder rate was quite high, and we achieved the largest
• 7:43
Speaker 1: drop in the murder rate ever recorded to the lowest
• 7:46
Speaker 1: level one hundred and twenty five years that seyear nineteen hundred.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: And that's despite the fact that many people came in
• 7:52
Speaker 1: from prisons and from very rough countries and from mental
• 7:57
Speaker 1: institutions and from lots of other places drug dealers, as
• 8:01
Speaker 1: they came in illegally. During the Biden administration. We've gotten
• 8:05
Speaker 1: many of them out, but we still have some that
• 8:08
Speaker 1: were looking for quite a few that were still looking for.
• 8:10
Speaker 1: But we've gotten over eleven and eighty eight murders we're
• 8:15
Speaker 1: allowed into a country. We've gotten a lot of them out.
• 8:17
Speaker 1: We've gotten some we put them in jail. We don't
• 8:19
Speaker 1: even trust the country to send them because come back
• 8:23
Speaker 1: in maybe we put them in jail.
• 8:25
  Speaker 4: Now.
• 8:26
Speaker 3: The President was clearly making this a midterm issue, comparing
• 8:29
Speaker 3: and contrasting the Biden Myorchis DHS that released almost every
• 8:34
Speaker 3: migrant encounter that would be every illegal immigrant encountered into
• 8:37
Speaker 3: the United States of America. Those days are now over
• 8:41
Speaker 3: thanks to President Donald Trump. The President then moved on
• 8:44
Speaker 3: to the economy and energy, using the cabinet meeting to
• 8:48
Speaker 3: argue that his economic agendas producing sing momentum despite the
• 8:52
Speaker 3: global oil issue. Trump repeatedly turned to energy dominance as
• 8:58
Speaker 3: a central theme, arguing that America must increase domestic production
• 9:03
Speaker 3: while adversaries like Iran continue weakening economically. Cabinet officials discussed inflation, manufacturing, investment,
• 9:11
Speaker 3: supply chain issues, and the energy pricing as it is
• 9:15
Speaker 3: going up. Trump argued that America's economic strength comes from
• 9:19
Speaker 3: producing more at home and reducing dependence on hostile for nations.
• 9:25
Speaker 3: He also contrasted his administration's policies with what he called
• 9:30
Speaker 3: radical climate extremism, saying energy restrictions weaken national security and
• 9:36
Speaker 3: empower our adversaries overseas. The administration framed domestic oil and
• 9:41
Speaker 3: gas production not only is an economic issue, but as
• 9:44
Speaker 3: a geopolitical weapon against countries like Iran, Russia and China
• 9:50
  Speaker 3: found at home.
• 9:51
Speaker 4: So again, it's an amazing transformation. Bottom line is the
• 9:55
Speaker 4: center of geopolitics around energy has moved from other part
• 10:00
Speaker 4: the world to the Western hemisphere. In the last five months,
• 10:03
Speaker 4: you turned Venezuela from a sanctioned adversary into a strategic
• 10:07
Speaker 4: ally and forty five minutes never happened in history before.
• 10:11
Speaker 4: And what's going on in Alaska when I was there
• 10:14
Speaker 4: last week in Alaska in the Nurslope, eighty thousand barrels
• 10:17
Speaker 4: a day coming online at PICCO. That wouldn't have happened
• 10:20
Speaker 4: with you. It's up by Willow on the Nurslope that's
• 10:22
Speaker 4: going into the into the Alaska Pipeline. Twenty percent increase
• 10:26
Speaker 4: just off that one field. So amazing work. It's energy
• 10:31
Speaker 4: is a high tech industry and those guys that are
• 10:33
Speaker 4: crushing it and they're loving the fact that they can
• 10:36
Speaker 4: provide affordable, reliable, secure energy for America.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: And we're working very hard in California. You know a
• 10:42
Speaker 1: lot of people don't know this, but California has tremendous
• 10:45
Speaker 1: tremendous oils. It's used to be number three in the nation,
• 10:49
Speaker 1: and the radical left has just wiped it out and
• 10:52
Speaker 1: we're working very hard to get that open again and
• 10:54
Speaker 1: get it so the people that they gasoline prices, their
• 10:58
Speaker 1: lack of energy is just staggering. It's staggering, and we're
• 11:03
Speaker 1: actually making very good progress. Even people that were against
• 11:06
Speaker 1: that at one point now they're saying, Wow, that'd be great.
• 11:08
Speaker 1: But people don't realize it was one of the right Chris,
• 11:10
Speaker 1: It was one of the top grilling states, one of
• 11:13
Speaker 1: the I would say, in terms of reserves, is among
• 11:17
Speaker 1: the top in the country. Nobody thinks of that. With
• 11:19
Speaker 1: Caliph everything was just closed down, really violently closed down,
• 11:24
Speaker 1: and we're opening up some of it and we're being
• 11:27
Speaker 1: met with actually great spirit because they're paying so much
• 11:31
Speaker 1: for gasoline that they don't have to be doing that,
• 11:33
Speaker 1: and they have a very incompetent group of leaders, like
• 11:36
  Speaker 1: grossly incompetent.
• 11:38
Speaker 3: So the big takeaway from the cabinet meeting was this,
• 11:42
Speaker 3: you have a president that believes that the American people
• 11:45
Speaker 3: are smart enough to understand he's doing big things and
• 11:49
Speaker 3: making tough choices, and the administration one of the Americans
• 11:53
Speaker 3: to see a president not only fully in command, but
• 11:55
Speaker 3: surrounded by the cabinet officials who are aggressively executing policy,
• 12:00
Speaker 3: not just on one issue, but across some multiple fronts
• 12:03
Speaker 3: all at once, whether it's Iran, immigration, energy, or economic policy.
• 12:10
Speaker 3: The tone of the meeting was confrontational, it was confident,
• 12:14
Speaker 3: and it was designed to let you know what exactly
• 12:17
Speaker 3: this White House is doing for you. And perhaps most importantly,
• 12:22
Speaker 3: Trump made it clear that he believes his administration now
• 12:24
Speaker 3: holds leverage, leverage over our adversaries overseas, leverage and negotiations,
• 12:31
Speaker 3: and leverage politically heading into the midterms. So where are
• 12:35
Speaker 3: we right now? Well, President Trump is arguing that not
• 12:38
Speaker 3: only is he in the cabinet, showing exactly why Donald
• 12:42
Speaker 3: Trump's agenda of America First is so dominant. It's also
• 12:46
Speaker 3: a moment for the President to remind Americans what is
• 12:49
Speaker 3: at stake and where we came from under the Biden regime. So,
• 12:54
Speaker 3: based on these headlines, you may not get a lot
• 12:57
Speaker 3: of love from the media because they want you to
• 12:58
Speaker 3: believe this guy has fallen, But when you look at
• 13:01
Speaker 3: what the President had to say, it's pretty clear the
• 13:04
Speaker 3: America First policies are still moving forward and being implemented
• 13:09
  Speaker 3: as we speak.
