- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, welcome in. It is the best betting show ever.
- 0:05Speaker 1: And when I mean ever, I mean at least over
- 0:08Speaker 1: the last six minutes here, Joe and Airy longside. Well,
- 0:11Speaker 1: we don't want arts. First of all, I am sorry
- 0:14Speaker 1: Art that I disrespected you like that. Let me get
- 0:17Speaker 1: your name in there so we can we make sure
- 0:20Speaker 1: that we don't ever make that mistake again. So hold
- 0:25Speaker 1: on one second on, I promise we're going to get
- 0:27Speaker 1: you all squared away here, because nobody wants to be
- 0:30Speaker 1: known as Lawrence Presman, who, by the way, is trying
- 0:35Speaker 1: to convince me that he's not actually laying on the
- 0:38Speaker 1: beach right now, that he is somehow doing well in
- 0:40Speaker 1: his poker tournament. But I think you and I both
- 0:42Speaker 1: know that is not the case. But he is enjoying
- 0:46Speaker 1: the warm weather here in South Florida, Art, which I'm
- 0:48Speaker 1: guessing is half the battle. But there you go. Now
- 0:51Speaker 1: it's Art to see or not Lawrence President. So we
- 0:54Speaker 1: welcome you back in now, Art unfortunately mislabeling you there
- 0:58Speaker 1: as the press. But we got a lot going on
- 1:02Speaker 1: coming up this week. We got a lot going on
- 1:05Speaker 1: here today. We got plenty of college basketball, huge conference
- 1:09Speaker 1: games coming up today. We got NBA, you got NHL,
- 1:13Speaker 1: but of course we got divisional matchups We've got also, well,
- 1:18Speaker 1: we got one more game to crown a national champion
- 1:21Speaker 1: in college football. But let's start like we usually do
- 1:25Speaker 1: on a Tuesday with you, because I'm dying and now
- 1:28Speaker 1: feels like the public might have had themselves a halfway
- 1:31Speaker 1: decent weekend here in wild card weekend. How did the
- 1:35Speaker 1: books do after everything was said and done?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Joe, you know, putting my name as Lawrence Pressman,
- 1:41Speaker 2: it's like a as fantasy and having a punishment. I
- 1:45Speaker 2: think that's like my fantasy punishment is to be Lawrence Pressman.
- 1:50Speaker 3: For the day.
- 1:50Speaker 1: You know that's correct?
- 1:51Speaker 3: All right? I paid my dues and I'm good. But
- 1:55Speaker 3: you know, yeah, yeah, Joe.
- 1:56Speaker 2: As far as the weekend goes, you know, we'll just
- 1:58Speaker 2: start with Saturday and obviously the Rams. We had talked
- 2:02Speaker 2: earlier in the week where there was a lot of
- 2:03Speaker 2: Ram money. Hey listen, if the Rams would have lost
- 2:05Speaker 2: out ready, that would have been awesome because you would
- 2:07Speaker 2: have crushed all the parlays early. But the Rams covering
- 2:11Speaker 2: was a really good result, it really was. And then
- 2:14Speaker 2: we get to the sets the night game, and we
- 2:17Speaker 2: would have had a banner day if green Bay would
- 2:21Speaker 2: have won that game and held on. They didn't, so
- 2:23Speaker 2: it ended up being like just a wash of a
- 2:25Speaker 2: day for us. Green Bay really killed us blowing that
- 2:28Speaker 2: game that way, and then we get to Sunday, and
- 2:30Speaker 2: Sunday was awesome.
- 2:32Speaker 3: You get to that Jacksonville game.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Jacksonville closed what one and a half two in that game,
- 2:36Speaker 2: so obviously a ton of Jacksonville money.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Buffalo winning outright was enormous.
- 2:41Speaker 2: We had talked all week about San Francisco that that
- 2:44Speaker 2: was our biggest knee because it felt like it was
- 2:47Speaker 2: just one way traffic on Philly. That thing was three
- 2:51Speaker 2: and a half, got up to six. The sharps and
- 2:53Speaker 2: the publics were there, all the teasers, all the moneyline
- 2:57Speaker 2: parlays were on Philly. So San Francisco big outcome for us.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And then the night game, once you got to that,
- 3:04Speaker 2: it kind of was a wash as far as a
- 3:07Speaker 2: result for US. I mean, maybe a little bit of
- 3:09Speaker 2: money we made on New England, but San Francisco carried
- 3:12Speaker 2: the day for us. Sunday was a banner day for us,
- 3:16Speaker 2: and then last night a little bit of a loss
- 3:18Speaker 2: on Houston early in the week. We took a ton
- 3:22Speaker 2: and I mean a ton of sharp Pittsburgh money, but
- 3:26Speaker 2: the public and everyone else kind of overwhelmed that with
- 3:29Speaker 2: the Houston money and a lot of things that were
- 3:31Speaker 2: tied into Houston on Monday night as far as parlays
- 3:34Speaker 2: and teasers and parlay cards and all that. So a
- 3:37Speaker 2: little bit of a loss, but overall, because Sunday was
- 3:40Speaker 2: so good and that San Francisco win, it was a
- 3:42Speaker 2: winning weekend for us.
- 3:44Speaker 1: We had I know, we talked about it on Friday Art.
- 3:48Speaker 1: We had Buffalo becoming very public, but that wasn't the
- 3:54Speaker 1: public running to the window flipping that line before kickoff there.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So that was a big, big move before. And we
- 4:02Speaker 1: had mentioned the only game all week where the pros
- 4:04Speaker 1: and the Joe's were aligned seemed to be that Philadelphia game.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You said you couldn't find anybody coming to the window
- 4:11Speaker 1: to bet the forty nine ers, uh, And it was
- 4:14Speaker 1: just one way money Pros and Joe's. And of course
- 4:18Speaker 1: that is the biggest head scratcher upset of the of
- 4:23Speaker 1: the weekend. But in hindsight, it probably should not have
- 4:27Speaker 1: been that big a surprise to a lot of people.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I think, yeah, I would totally agree.
- 4:32Speaker 2: You know, I think a lot of people in the
- 4:34Speaker 2: end when you actually watch that game and look at
- 4:36Speaker 2: that game, Yeah, Philly's offense is so challenged. It's like,
- 4:39Speaker 2: how are they gonna go and cover a six point game?
- 4:42Speaker 2: Despite all the San Francisco injuries and obviously they had
- 4:45Speaker 2: even more on Sunday with Kettle going down. It's like
- 4:48Speaker 2: a team every week. It's the you know, the wounded
- 4:50Speaker 2: Warriors just going through. But yeah, I mean, you're right
- 4:55Speaker 2: about that Jacksonville game. I thought a Buffalo would be
- 4:57Speaker 2: pretty public, and they were, but right, it's it's not
- 5:00Speaker 2: the public that's going to move an opening number of
- 5:02Speaker 2: Buffalo early from one to them being a two point
- 5:06Speaker 2: dog by kickoff. So clearly we took a ton of
- 5:10Speaker 2: sharp and then we started to see some public Jacksonville money.
- 5:13Speaker 3: We really did.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Yep. Yeah, And then of course most places I don't
- 5:18Speaker 1: know what you club, but most places where I think
- 5:21Speaker 1: fifty one hour, fifty two and a half somewhere in
- 5:23Speaker 1: that ballpark for that total and what at Land fifty one?
- 5:27Speaker 1: So yeah, yikes, that was that was very interesting as well.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But how about rewind it the friday we talked about
- 5:36Speaker 1: Oregon being also against Indiana. You had mentioned Indiana had
- 5:42Speaker 1: become the public darling, you were getting nothing but Indiana money.
- 5:46Speaker 1: If I remember quikly, it was a little bit of
- 5:48Speaker 1: a push for Oregon late, but for the most part,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it was over before it began. How did that? How
- 5:55Speaker 1: did the books do with Indiana and Oregon in Indiana
- 5:58Speaker 1: kill you?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they did.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Listen, there was a little bit of support for Oregon,
- 6:04Speaker 2: but I think the overwhelming Indiana money that has just
- 6:07Speaker 2: been coming through this whole tournament and then Indiana and
- 6:10Speaker 2: we'll talk about it too in the championship game. You know,
- 6:13Speaker 2: with them being the favorite that they are, they're very
- 6:15Speaker 2: popular in the moneyline favorite parlays. Indiana is always going
- 6:19Speaker 2: to be one of the two or three or four
- 6:20Speaker 2: legs in somebody's parlay because they just go out and
- 6:23Speaker 2: they beat everyone by forty. So, I mean people are
- 6:26Speaker 2: using Indiana like the free Bingos square now, so and
- 6:29Speaker 2: that's no different once we get to this championship game.
- 6:31Speaker 3: You've already seen that.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yep, that is for sure, all right, Art, So let's
- 6:36Speaker 1: start there as we try to figure out where the
- 6:39Speaker 1: money is going this week and will we saw the
- 6:42Speaker 1: look ahead ART one five, five and a half for
- 6:45Speaker 1: an Indiana for Miami game. You and I talked about
- 6:48Speaker 1: that on Friday, and then you know, they absolutely steamrolled Oregon.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Then we saw seven and a half as an open
- 6:57Speaker 1: and unless it has been all Indiana ever since, correct,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I mean I saw maybe eight and a half's yesterday
- 7:05Speaker 1: pretty prevalent. I even saw nine in the market yesterday.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Steve and I talked about it and said, listen, if
- 7:13Speaker 1: you like Miami, there is no rush. It feels like
- 7:16Speaker 1: to have to bet Miami at this point because if
- 7:19Speaker 1: that money is coming, it is likely going to be
- 7:21Speaker 1: later in the week. Art They're going to see how
- 7:24Speaker 1: far this line gets pushed towards Indiana. But it feels
- 7:28Speaker 1: like that might be the only money you're just getting
- 7:31Speaker 1: so far in this one.
- 7:34Speaker 3: No doubt about it. And you mentioned it.
- 7:36Speaker 2: We opened seven and a half, we're now eight and
- 7:38Speaker 2: a half, and this is something we've talked about on
- 7:40Speaker 2: this show. Right we're starting to be around dead numbers,
- 7:43Speaker 2: So what's the difference. I mean, you know, eight, eight
- 7:46Speaker 2: and a half, nine, nine.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And a half.
- 7:47Speaker 2: You're right, I think we're going to see eventually how
- 7:50Speaker 2: high we could push this number. You've already seen the
- 7:53Speaker 2: money line stuff with Indiana. People are coming to the
- 7:55Speaker 2: window and lay in three thirty, lay in three forty
- 7:59Speaker 2: to win a coupleule of dimes because Indiana has just
- 8:02Speaker 2: been that team.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Now.
- 8:03Speaker 2: We have also mentioned we get murdered on Miami in
- 8:06Speaker 2: the futures, so we're rooting for Indiana, but we're also not,
- 8:11Speaker 2: you know, over here, just trying to give Indiana money away.
- 8:13Speaker 2: We're just gonna book the game the way we're.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Gonna book it. And I think I'm with you, guys.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I think this thing's gonna approach ten I think if
- 8:21Speaker 2: you like Miami, you like Miami on the money line,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I think you wait because the Indiana story is just overwhelming.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I haven't heard one person talk about Miami this week
- 8:32Speaker 2: or leading up to this game, and I think you're
- 8:34Speaker 2: just gonna continue with that. It's gonna continue to be
- 8:37Speaker 2: Indiana money here.
- 8:39Speaker 1: It feels a lot like that forty nine Ers Eagles game.
- 8:42Speaker 1: You know, we just could not find anybody wanting to
- 8:46Speaker 1: back the can't find anybody wanted to back Miami except
- 8:50Speaker 1: this six son of a bitch right here, all right,
- 8:53Speaker 1: So plenty of time there. Interestingly enough, as much of
- 8:56Speaker 1: as a move that we've seen and continue to see. Uh.
- 9:00Speaker 1: On the side, are not a lot of movement in
- 9:02Speaker 1: the total forty eight and a half isn't open still
- 9:05Speaker 1: forty eight and a half. You tend to usually get
- 9:08Speaker 1: those kinds of moves on the total when the limits
- 9:11Speaker 1: are higher later in the week or before kick. When
- 9:14Speaker 1: do you usually see the push with the total?
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you'll see some probably total money later
- 9:21Speaker 2: in the week. And I think this is one two
- 9:22Speaker 2: where you'll see the public coming and want to bet
- 9:24Speaker 2: the over. They're just gonna want to bet a championship
- 9:27Speaker 2: game over and maybe you know, the sharp guys are
- 9:29Speaker 2: waiting to see this is total get pushed up a
- 9:33Speaker 2: little bit and maybe we want to come in and
- 9:35Speaker 2: fire on the under.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Just haven't seen that yet. Really, just for.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Us, the main moves have been on the money line
- 9:41Speaker 2: and on the side. Because you said we haven't budgeted
- 9:44Speaker 2: off our forty eight and a half.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly, And that seems to be pretty steady here.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Not so much though, lack of movement in the divisional
- 9:54Speaker 1: rounds now that we know everything that is set up
- 9:57Speaker 1: here are and I think the one game that stuck
- 10:00Speaker 1: out to everybody was the Denver and Buffalo game where
- 10:06Speaker 1: Buffalo opens up as that small favorite right one, one
- 10:09Speaker 1: and a half and it's like deja vu all over
- 10:11Speaker 1: again because they just did that with Jacksonville. But Jacksonville
- 10:15Speaker 1: ended up going off as the favorite. We're starting to
- 10:18Speaker 1: see some movement in that direction already are but Denver
- 10:24Speaker 1: feels like maybe they're the public side here early on.
- 10:28Speaker 1: What are you seeing in this game for us?
- 10:31Speaker 2: And we did open Buffalo as a small favorite minus one,
- 10:35Speaker 2: and our initial bets early bets, and I mean, this
- 10:37Speaker 2: is as public as it gets. A couple of you know,
- 10:40Speaker 2: money line stuff on Buffalo, you know, laying minus one, fifteen,
- 10:43Speaker 2: that type of stuff, and then one of our sharpest
- 10:45Speaker 2: NFL accounts did take Denver plus one, so we moved,
- 10:50Speaker 2: we moved to pick on the game. And I'm with
- 10:53Speaker 2: you on this. I think this is gonna be public's
- 10:56Speaker 2: gonna be all over Buffalo again. And I think the
- 10:59Speaker 2: sharp guys, and we've seen it early, are gonna look
- 11:02Speaker 2: to take Denver here. And this is a game, It
- 11:04Speaker 2: would not shock me if Denver closes as a one
- 11:07Speaker 2: to one and a half point favorite. It feels like
- 11:10Speaker 2: Denver is getting no respect. They haven't gotten a lot
- 11:12Speaker 2: of respect all year pretty much in the betting market.
- 11:15Speaker 2: It felt like, and I think buff Buffalo is going
- 11:18Speaker 2: to start to go on this you know ride here
- 11:20Speaker 2: with Josh Allen saying, Oh, he's going to make the
- 11:21Speaker 2: super Bowl and you're gonna really see And you gotta
- 11:24Speaker 2: remember too, the later we get in these playoffs, especially
- 11:27Speaker 2: super Bowl, you start to see way more public money. Yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 2: there's way more public money each round you go in
- 11:34Speaker 2: these playoffs. It always happens.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, big time here. And we've had a couple
- 11:40Speaker 1: of days we you know, a couple of those games
- 11:43Speaker 1: after Saturday, we knew what the matchups were gonna be.
- 11:46Speaker 1: We knew the forty nine ers winning were heading back
- 11:49Speaker 1: to a very familiar foe there in Seattle, and we
- 11:54Speaker 1: saw what look ahead there. Six and a half maybe seven,
- 11:57Speaker 1: saw a lot of seven and a half. So I
- 11:59Speaker 1: think we're still at seven and a half here art
- 12:02Speaker 1: with Seattle and the forty nine ers. Not a lot
- 12:05Speaker 1: of movement on your end either here.
- 12:08Speaker 2: We opened seven, we moved to seven and a half,
- 12:11Speaker 2: and that was just a market move for us. It's
- 12:13Speaker 2: not like we took a bet on seven and pushed
- 12:15Speaker 2: us to the seven and a half. We didn't want
- 12:17Speaker 2: to be at seven. We said, you know what, we'll
- 12:19Speaker 2: go to seven and a half. We almost too, And listen,
- 12:21Speaker 2: when the market moves like that, then it's like, well
- 12:23Speaker 2: does someone want to come take seven in a half
- 12:25Speaker 2: And no one has bit yet on that. So now listen,
- 12:28Speaker 2: we know Seattle, when you sit at that seven seven
- 12:30Speaker 2: and a half gonna be very popular in moneyline parlays
- 12:33Speaker 2: and very popular and teasers.
- 12:34Speaker 3: There's no doubt we will be rooting for San Francisco.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels like once again you're gonna need the
- 12:40Speaker 1: forty nine ers to make it a very profitable weekend
- 12:42Speaker 1: for the books there. And the Rams opened up three
- 12:46Speaker 1: and a half against Chicago. But I don't know, I'm
- 12:49Speaker 1: starting to see maybe a four or two pop up
- 12:52Speaker 1: in the market here, are you seeing any? And boys,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Chicago's becoming more and more public by the week here,
- 12:59Speaker 1: So what are we thinking the bears at home? Nobody
- 13:02Speaker 1: gives them a chance, and yet all they do is win.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I keep hearing art, It's true, nobody gives them a chance.
- 13:08Speaker 2: We opened three and a half on La we are
- 13:10Speaker 2: now four once again, that is a market move as well.
- 13:13Speaker 2: We didn't necessarily take a bet that moved.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Us to four.
- 13:16Speaker 3: It's funny our total.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I think we opened at fifty one, got as high
- 13:19Speaker 2: as fifty two, then we saw some sharp money bring
- 13:22Speaker 2: us back down to our opener fifty one. So for us,
- 13:25Speaker 2: really the total has been the big move in the game.
- 13:28Speaker 2: And let me say this on the futures, as we
- 13:30Speaker 2: talk about Miami killing us in college, the one team
- 13:34Speaker 2: we really need to avoid winning.
- 13:35Speaker 3: The Super Bowl is the Rams.
- 13:37Speaker 1: So we're gonna be root.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Oh, many have not stuff betting the Rams all year.
- 13:42Speaker 2: And I'll say this too. The Rams are huge two
- 13:44Speaker 2: in those exacts, you know, like Rams beat Patriots, Rams
- 13:48Speaker 2: beat Bills. Like if the Rams getting to the super
- 13:51Speaker 2: Bowl is even bad for us. So we really want
- 13:54Speaker 2: to avoid the Rams. We hope we get they get
- 13:55Speaker 2: picked off here in the next couple of weeks.
- 13:58Speaker 1: What we got, of course, after last night and CJ.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Stroud turning the ball over it can't hold on to
- 14:07Speaker 1: it three times and still somehow or other, the Steelers
- 14:12Speaker 1: couldn't take advantage. But now Houston passed to head to
- 14:15Speaker 1: Foxborough to take on New England. Look ahead, I saw
- 14:18Speaker 1: two and a half in some spots threes. It feels
- 14:21Speaker 1: like that's kind of what we're at right now. Still
- 14:24Speaker 1: a lot of threes, but it looks like we got
- 14:26Speaker 1: some tickets and money on Houston here. But boy, nigga,
- 14:31Speaker 1: are they gonna win another game strictly by defense? Aren't?
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Well, you know, their defense is good enough to win
- 14:39Speaker 2: a championship, now is their offense?
- 14:41Speaker 3: I don't think so. That defense is phenomenal. I'll say this.
- 14:44Speaker 2: We had had a debate on if Houston wins that
- 14:48Speaker 2: game last night, how do we open the game. If
- 14:50Speaker 2: it's a tight game, maybe they win in a last
- 14:52Speaker 2: second field goal. Maybe you open New England three. But
- 14:55Speaker 2: the way they dominated and the way that defense played,
- 14:58Speaker 2: and I get it, New England's way bet other than
- 15:00Speaker 2: Pittsburgh and Houston's gotta go on the road again and
- 15:03Speaker 2: win a playoff game. We decided, hey, let's open New
- 15:05Speaker 2: England two and a half. We feel comfortable there at
- 15:08Speaker 2: the two and a half. Nobody's wanted to lay us
- 15:10Speaker 2: two and a half. Now, you know, under a field
- 15:12Speaker 2: goal with a home favorite in a playoff game, nobody
- 15:14Speaker 2: has done it yet. Now, obviously that line has had
- 15:16Speaker 2: the least amount of shelf life because obviously just came
- 15:19Speaker 2: out late last night.
- 15:21Speaker 3: We'll obviously be able to.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Talk about that game a little bit further as we
- 15:24Speaker 2: go down here on the weekend. Listen, a lot of
- 15:26Speaker 2: these games have barely had move in. We're gonna see
- 15:28Speaker 2: a lot more moving here in the next couple of days.
- 15:30Speaker 2: But we felt comfortable with you with Houston and New England,
- 15:34Speaker 2: New England being a two and a half point favorite.
- 15:36Speaker 1: What's the biggest handled game you think this weekend? All right,
- 15:40Speaker 1: what's gonna what's gonna garner the most, the most handled?
- 15:43Speaker 1: You think?
- 15:46Speaker 2: It's a great question. I think the Rams and Bears
- 15:49Speaker 2: are gonna be great there. Yeah, I could see that
- 15:53Speaker 2: because we're talking.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I mean the Rams.
- 15:57Speaker 2: You know, you gotta remember for us who we have,
- 15:58Speaker 2: the California influx that comes into town.
- 16:01Speaker 3: So we get that. The Bears are the Bears, and
- 16:03Speaker 3: they're very.
- 16:04Speaker 1: The late game on Sunday.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the late game on Sunday. I think that
- 16:08Speaker 3: really helps you know.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and now listen, once you get to this stage,
- 16:14Speaker 2: you're gonna get tremendous handle. Yeah, You're gonna get tremendous handled.
- 16:18Speaker 2: But I would say, right now, I think the Bears
- 16:21Speaker 2: Rams gonna get your highest hand.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's gonna be your Sunday night game. Houston,
- 16:25Speaker 1: New England will be the three o'clock game on Sunday.
- 16:29Speaker 1: So a lot still gonna happen between now and then,
- 16:32Speaker 1: though Art certainly from the book perspective and the lines
- 16:36Speaker 1: will keep an eye on it all week long. But
- 16:38Speaker 1: you know, as we get ready to wrap up the
- 16:41Speaker 1: football season here, let's not forget we got plenty of
- 16:44Speaker 1: NBA and of course college basketball action. It is a
- 16:47Speaker 1: loaded slate here today of conference games in college hoops.
- 16:52Speaker 1: What are you seeing on the hardwood? NBA, college basketball, NHL?
- 16:56Speaker 1: Anything crazy as well here so far this morning.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Absolutely give us some stuff in all three Let's start
- 17:02Speaker 2: with the NHL saw some overnight money on the Islanders,
- 17:05Speaker 2: and we also saw some overnight money on Utah the Mammoth.
- 17:08Speaker 2: They've been pretty good at home. They are at home tonight.
- 17:11Speaker 2: When you go to the NBA in the big game,
- 17:13Speaker 2: okay See in the Spurs, I mean it feels like,
- 17:16Speaker 2: okay See really needs to win this game and prove
- 17:19Speaker 2: themselves that they can actually beat the Spurs. Okay, see,
- 17:22Speaker 2: we opened seven, we're now eight on the game. They're
- 17:25Speaker 2: going to be super popular as well in all the
- 17:27Speaker 2: money line parlays for the daily stuff. So obviously if
- 17:30Speaker 2: we can get the Spurs to win outright, that'd be
- 17:32Speaker 2: great because we'll knock all those thunder money lines out.
- 17:35Speaker 2: We've seen the over creep up two from two twenty
- 17:37Speaker 2: eight and a half to two thirty. And then in
- 17:40Speaker 2: College A and M took some money. Believe they're at
- 17:43Speaker 2: Tennessee they took plus money or took money at plus
- 17:46Speaker 2: nine and a half. U console really good over money
- 17:49Speaker 2: on the road at newly ranked Seat and Hall over
- 17:52Speaker 2: one thirty one now one thirty four, so.
- 17:55Speaker 3: You've seen a three point move to the over there.
- 17:57Speaker 2: And Oklahoma at home against Flow Oklahoma took money at
- 18:01Speaker 2: plus six.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Wow, so there you go. Oh you at home against
- 18:06Speaker 1: Florid who just destroyed Tennessee. Who's home against Texas A
- 18:10Speaker 1: and M there, and yeah, Seaton Hall and Yukon, interesting right,
- 18:14Speaker 1: I mean Yukon hasn't fared very well there against Seaton Hall,
- 18:19Speaker 1: especially at Seaton Hall over the last couple of seasons here,
- 18:23Speaker 1: so that should be a good still feels like one
- 18:26Speaker 1: thirty three is a ridiculously low number, and now it's
- 18:30Speaker 1: up to one thirty four, like it's been. They keep
- 18:32Speaker 1: betting the over there doesn't shock me. Art, So we
- 18:35Speaker 1: got a little sub for everyone here. Moving forward, NBA
- 18:39Speaker 1: and you know, college hoops NHL certainly going to be
- 18:42Speaker 1: front and center moving forward. Do you usually see the
- 18:45Speaker 1: transition art from right around now we're less football, now
- 18:50Speaker 1: we start to see a little more interest, a little
- 18:52Speaker 1: more handled towards the college basketball realm here or does
- 18:55Speaker 1: it stay pretty pretty steady from here moving forward?
- 19:00Speaker 3: I always say it like this.
- 19:01Speaker 2: You know what the college basketball season, let's say starts
- 19:04Speaker 2: November sixth. The guys who bet college basketball the whole year,
- 19:08Speaker 2: they're betting on November sixth. The public and the people
- 19:12Speaker 2: who just realize, oh wait, there's a college basketball season
- 19:14Speaker 2: going on.
- 19:15Speaker 3: They get involved the week after.
- 19:17Speaker 4: The Super Bowl.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Like they start remembering, oh wait, there's other sports, and
- 19:23Speaker 2: then you know, you're really deep in a conference play.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Then you're gonna get close to your conference tournaments. Then
- 19:27Speaker 2: you really start to see the public start to creep
- 19:30Speaker 2: in on the other sports. But the guys who bet
- 19:32Speaker 2: NHL NBA College Basketball. They're there from day one, you
- 19:36Speaker 2: know that. I mean, you know, they don't even care
- 19:39Speaker 2: about the football games, most of them. You know, we
- 19:41Speaker 2: have some accounts we see on November sixth, and then
- 19:45Speaker 2: we see to the end what April first second, whenever
- 19:48Speaker 2: the championship game is, and then we don't see in
- 19:50Speaker 2: the rest of the year. They are strictly college basketball accounts.
- 19:54Speaker 2: We have plenty of people like them.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's certainly there are some huge games coming up.
- 20:00Speaker 1: How else the time to get back into the swing
- 20:02Speaker 1: of things here. And if you're just watching college basketball,
- 20:05Speaker 1: you're going wait a minute, Kansas is at fog Allen
- 20:08Speaker 1: and they're an underdog. Like, what in the world has
- 20:12Speaker 1: happened here? Yeah, it's been that kind of season so far.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Welcome to the new nil in college Hoop's gonna make
- 20:19Speaker 1: things very interesting. Moving forward to art, all right, so
- 20:23Speaker 1: we've got everyone caught up. Of course, we'll have more
- 20:25Speaker 1: as the week progresses here, but it is time for
- 20:29Speaker 1: our Parlay of the Day art. So before we get
- 20:34Speaker 1: everyone else's picks here, Parlay of the Day can be
- 20:38Speaker 1: in any sport here today and you got a little
- 20:41Speaker 1: something for everyone. So what direction are you heading here tonight?
- 20:46Speaker 2: I always love the fired coach angle, and someone did
- 20:50Speaker 2: that in the NHL yesterday the Columbus Bluejackets fired their coach.
- 20:55Speaker 2: They're at home tonight against the Flames, who are no good.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I gotta lay one thirty, but I'm gonna do it.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Give me Columbus at home minus one thirty against the Flames.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Got to love it, all right, Art, this Caesar. If
- 21:09Speaker 1: it ain't bron don't fix it, min Man. That's what
- 21:11Speaker 1: we say here. Fired coaches system has been money. Let's
- 21:16Speaker 1: get it to cash again here tonight. All right, Art,
- 21:20Speaker 1: we'll talk to you again tomorrow. We'll have more updates
- 21:22Speaker 1: across the board. What's going on though? I imagine pretty interesting
- 21:27Speaker 1: time here at the book leading up to, of course
- 21:29Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, and then not a lot of time
- 21:32Speaker 1: to waste because March Madness will be just a month
- 21:35Speaker 1: away after that, and then all hell breaks loose. So
- 21:37Speaker 1: it's a little crazy for you now over at the
- 21:39Speaker 1: West Gate.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, listen, playoff football mode is huge, and
- 21:44Speaker 2: you know, we really get into.
- 21:46Speaker 3: You know, longer I listen. The football season's always that way,
- 21:49Speaker 3: and we.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Recognize there's only a handful of games left, but we
- 21:53Speaker 2: start putting up a lot more content, a lot more props,
- 21:55Speaker 2: a lot more you know, index props, general game props.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Try to start to book all these NFL playoff games
- 22:02Speaker 2: like mini super Bowls with more options. So it's a
- 22:05Speaker 2: really fun time for us. A busy time, but a
- 22:07Speaker 2: fun time.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah. About two and a half weeks away from pitchers
- 22:12Speaker 1: and catchers to Art. So I'll just remind you of
- 22:14Speaker 1: that that's around the corn World Baseball Classic should be
- 22:18Speaker 1: a whole lot of fun coming up, Man, Art, this
- 22:20Speaker 1: sees enjoyed the day. Man, we appreciate the time. As always.
- 22:24Speaker 1: We'll talk to you again, Omar. All right, Merril, So
- 22:27Speaker 1: Art is going with his usual fired coaches system. There
- 22:33Speaker 1: the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight in the NHL. Now it
- 22:37Speaker 1: is up to you and I not to screw this
- 22:39Speaker 1: three leg parlay of the day up. And we got
- 22:43Speaker 1: plenty of games to look at it too, a lot
- 22:45Speaker 1: of NBA, a lot of college basketball here. So which
- 22:50Speaker 1: side or which league are you looking to go with
- 22:54Speaker 1: for your end of the parlay of the day.
- 22:58Speaker 4: A little bit of a sharp money move, but I
- 23:00Speaker 4: think there's still some value at seven o'clock Eastern tonight
- 23:03Speaker 4: in the ACC College Hoops, Mimia Florida opened is about
- 23:06Speaker 4: a two and a half point favorite over Notre Dame.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Isn't it a appro pro that they're playing Notre Dame
- 23:11Speaker 4: in college hoops? And you got to figure that's a
- 23:13Speaker 4: huge spot for Notre Dame, right, the team that kept
- 23:16Speaker 4: them out of the college football playoffs. Well, the sharp
- 23:18Speaker 4: mightey doesn't feel that way. They're back in Miami of
- 23:20Speaker 4: Florida open two and a half. It's now up to
- 23:23Speaker 4: four and a half, even five at some of the
- 23:25Speaker 4: sharper allshore books, and I agree with that move tonight.
- 23:28Speaker 4: I think Miamia Florida is the better team in this game,
- 23:31Speaker 4: and if you're going to play it, I would lay
- 23:33Speaker 4: it with the Hurricanes. It would have been a great
- 23:35Speaker 4: college football game we saw the opening week of the season.
- 23:38Speaker 4: But now we're getting in college hoops tonight, and one
- 23:40Speaker 4: thing that jumps out to me, but Miami of Florida
- 23:42Speaker 4: a really good offensive team this season and get it
- 23:45Speaker 4: done really at both ends of the court. Off to
- 23:47Speaker 4: a three to zero starting the ACC. You look at
- 23:49Speaker 4: this matchup tonight as well against Notre Dame. I think
- 23:52Speaker 4: One of the edges Miami's going to have is not
- 23:54Speaker 4: only the offensive edge, but also with the tempo. Notre
- 23:57Speaker 4: Dame likes to play slow half court basketball, Miami's gonna
- 24:00Speaker 4: speed it up. And normally I side with the slower
- 24:02Speaker 4: half court team at home, but I just don't think
- 24:04Speaker 4: that matchup's gonna work tonight. Also, Miami does not rely
- 24:08Speaker 4: on the three point shot much. They're an excellent two
- 24:10Speaker 4: point shooting team scoring down low, and Notre Dame does
- 24:13Speaker 4: not force turnovers, So short money's on Miamia, Florida. I
- 24:16Speaker 4: would agree with that move tonight.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's funny. I've been watching Steve all day long.
- 24:21Speaker 1: What a battle in the marketplace on the total. In
- 24:24Speaker 1: that game, it opened up one forty four and a half,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and at about nine thirty this morning, it got steamed
- 24:31Speaker 1: down to as low as one forty one and a half.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And we know, listen, Notre Dame and Shrewsbury's not gonna
- 24:37Speaker 1: be running up and down the court in any way,
- 24:39Speaker 1: shape or form here. But about an hour and a
- 24:43Speaker 1: half later it got jacked all the way back up,
- 24:46Speaker 1: steams all the way back up to one forty four,
- 24:49Speaker 1: one forty four and a half only to get hit
- 24:51Speaker 1: a game to go back the other way, and now
- 24:54Speaker 1: once again, sure enough the over money has come in.
- 24:57Speaker 1: So it's funny watching how that happened different hours during
- 25:01Speaker 1: the day. You can see the different steam moves across
- 25:04Speaker 1: the board multiple books. But we got two competing groups.
- 25:08Speaker 1: One thinks the unders to play in that game and
- 25:11Speaker 1: one thinks the over is, which likely means it's somewhere
- 25:14Speaker 1: in the middle. There isn't it, Steve.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Well, I think you could definitely make a case the
- 25:18Speaker 4: side and total or codependent. Right, So we saw that
- 25:21Speaker 4: early money coming to Miamia, Florida from two and a
- 25:23Speaker 4: half up to four and a half five That would
- 25:25Speaker 4: probably coincide with money coming on the over as well,
- 25:28Speaker 4: because Miami likes to play fast and Notre Dame plays slow,
- 25:31Speaker 4: and whichever team dictates the tempo side total probably correlated.
- 25:35Speaker 4: So a two team parlay with Miami over or Notre
- 25:38Speaker 4: Dame under probably would not be a bad investment tonight.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Like it all right, I am gonna go in the
- 25:43Speaker 1: NBA then, and I am going to I am going
- 25:47Speaker 1: to look at the Houston Rockets at home, who have
- 25:51Speaker 1: not played a home game. It feels like in a
- 25:53Speaker 1: very very very long time. But this starts a five
- 25:56Speaker 1: game homestand that they will be on and boil. It's
- 26:00Speaker 1: gotta be a little embarrassing right coming off a loss
- 26:03Speaker 1: to Sacramento. You couldn't beat Portland not once, but twice,
- 26:08Speaker 1: So I think they're gonna be glad to get home.
- 26:10Speaker 1: They're taking on a Chicago team who will have no Josh,
- 26:12Speaker 1: getting old Colby White very hard. I think for Chicago
- 26:17Speaker 1: to be competitive without them. This will be Sangoon's second
- 26:20Speaker 1: game back. I believe now from the injury. I would
- 26:26Speaker 1: look for Houston to light up Chicago in this one here.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I know it's thirteen, but it's thirteen for a reason.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I think Chicago's got a game tomorrow night against Utah
- 26:37Speaker 1: in which they'll probably get everybody back. But it feels
- 26:40Speaker 1: like this is one of those scheduled losses here Maryland.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It feels like Houston has a little frustration they might
- 26:47Speaker 1: want to get out tonight. So I'll take Houston for
- 26:51Speaker 1: my end of the of the parlay of the day.
- 26:55Speaker 1: So there you got it. We've got one NBA one
- 26:57Speaker 1: college and of course Art and the n h L guys.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Don't forget hit that light button, hit the subscribe button.
- 27:05Speaker 1: We do have a surprise for you, though, Prez.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Even though he.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Still claims to be at the poker table, Meryl is
- 27:13Speaker 1: apparently gonna drop in with a big announcement. He's got
- 27:17Speaker 1: a big play here tonight. He also has a couple
- 27:20Speaker 1: of plays in the NHL that he wants to give out,
- 27:23Speaker 1: so we'll hear from him shortly. But that does remind
- 27:27Speaker 1: me that, you know, it's now that I get the pres.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I can't get that picture out of my head here Meryl,
- 27:34Speaker 1: because now it is time for some business here. And
- 27:39Speaker 1: yet when it comes to the PRES, he's all about business. Apparently,
- 27:42Speaker 1: how about you tonight doing a loaded slate? What do
- 27:45Speaker 1: you got rolling over at wager Talk?
- 27:47Speaker 4: I like Eli wears that suit in more than one location.
- 27:50Speaker 4: It went from the Halloween party to the football stadium
- 27:52Speaker 4: where he's now apparently the halftime entertainment. He doesn't realize
- 27:56Speaker 4: that the outfit is the entertainment, not what he thinks.
- 28:00Speaker 4: But hey, leisure suit, whatever floats your boat, my man,
- 28:04Speaker 4: Time for some business. I've got one NBA best bet tonight,

- 28:43Speaker 1: and I got to find dollar play college basketball. I
- 28:46Speaker 1: have actually a couple of games I really like a
- 28:50Speaker 1: lot on this loaded slate, all of it in packages
- 28:53Speaker 1: right now, including two in the NBA that you can
- 28:56Speaker 1: go get over on my page at wager talk dot com.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Take advantage of the five dollars Tuesday guys, customer appreciation
- 29:03Speaker 1: both at Steve's page and my page, and go grab
- 29:06Speaker 1: those five dollar plays and let's make it a profitable
- 29:10Speaker 1: night here, Steve. Just like well, the Houston Texans did
- 29:16Speaker 1: last night. Now that we know what the divisional round
- 29:19Speaker 1: is going to look like here Houston on its way
- 29:23Speaker 1: to New England, and we talked to Art earlier and
- 29:27Speaker 1: Art said, listen, whatever we see right now, we're likely
- 29:31Speaker 1: going to see maybe some different moves in different numbers
- 29:35Speaker 1: as the week and of course the limits rise. But
- 29:40Speaker 1: he also showed that looks like Denver in some spots
- 29:44Speaker 1: is already starting to get a little bit of love
- 29:47Speaker 1: in the marketplace because they were a dog to open.
- 29:50Speaker 1: We talked about that yesterday, Steve, and now it looks
- 29:54Speaker 1: like in a lot of spots Denver minus one here,
- 29:58Speaker 1: and it wouldn't shock me if this continent used to
- 30:00Speaker 1: go in that direction. How about you.
- 30:04Speaker 4: It's tricky because I think the situational setup, as we
- 30:06Speaker 4: talked about yesterday, definitely favored the Broncos and they were
- 30:09Speaker 4: a home dog. They were a one one and a
- 30:11Speaker 4: half point home dog Monday yesterday and we first started
- 30:13Speaker 4: talking about it. Now they're a pick them to one
- 30:15Speaker 4: point favorite in most spots, and historically speaking, having to
- 30:19Speaker 4: buy having home field has been worth four to five points.
- 30:21Speaker 4: It's a strong situational set up. Buffalo also last second
- 30:24Speaker 4: win come from behind when on the road now, traveling
- 30:27Speaker 4: cross country, playing in the thin air and altitude on
- 30:30Speaker 4: a short week against arrested team, huge situational edge for Denver.
- 30:34Speaker 4: The problem is, I'm not a believer in Denver. I
- 30:37Speaker 4: want to fade them. I think they're a phony one seed.
- 30:38Speaker 4: They won the majority of their games by less than
- 30:40Speaker 4: a score this season, and that does mean something. But
- 30:43Speaker 4: then again, they're the better defensive team as well, So
- 30:45Speaker 4: we get the situational set up the better defense with Denver,
- 30:48Speaker 4: I can understand why there has been some money coming
- 30:50Speaker 4: on the Broncos and why they're a slight favored now.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and also I mean, now that we know it's
- 30:55Speaker 1: Houston and New England, two and a half is what
- 30:59Speaker 1: the Westgate all with a couple of spots opened up
- 31:02Speaker 1: at two and a half late last night. But we
- 31:04Speaker 1: wake up here today and it looks like three across
- 31:09Speaker 1: the board here, and I think that it feels like
- 31:13Speaker 1: Houston could get a little bit public as the week progresses,
- 31:17Speaker 1: because that defense is what everybody focuses on. But if
- 31:20Speaker 1: we're being honest, Meryl, you know both offenses. I think
- 31:25Speaker 1: we question, right New England, who the hell have you played?
- 31:28Speaker 1: This will be the best defense they have played in
- 31:31Speaker 1: Houston all year long. And Houston, I mean three turnovers.
- 31:35Speaker 1: You can get away with that against Pittsburgh. I don't
- 31:39Speaker 1: know even get away with that with New England. So
- 31:42Speaker 1: this is a tricky game, and I think the market
- 31:45Speaker 1: I don't know that we get back over a field
- 31:48Speaker 1: goal here. I don't think we get to three and
- 31:49Speaker 1: a half at any point. We might get back down
- 31:52Speaker 1: to two and a half.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Though, Oh we're geting to three and a half. Selth
- 31:55Speaker 4: point is dealing it right now. I'm looking at the
- 31:57Speaker 4: Ossite screen, Yeah, on Tuesday afternoon, and so I mean
- 32:00Speaker 4: this is we're seeing three a halbs. Even money, by
- 32:04Speaker 4: the way, in your defense, has happened about twenty five
- 32:06Speaker 4: minutes ago, so when you last look before the show,
- 32:08Speaker 4: it was three. But yeah, about one thirty eastern south
- 32:11Speaker 4: Point and some other books went to three and a half.
- 32:13Speaker 4: So we're definitely seeing it now. Total has not moved
- 32:16Speaker 4: and it's hovering on that key number of forty one one. Yeah,
- 32:19Speaker 4: about a three to four percent chance of game lands
- 32:21Speaker 4: exactly forty one points twenty one to twenty twenty four
- 32:24Speaker 4: to seventeen thirty one ten there's so many margins that
- 32:27Speaker 4: get you there. I will say last night, when I
- 32:30Speaker 4: was watching the game, thought that New England would be
- 32:32Speaker 4: at least a field goal favorite. So, you know, I
- 32:34Speaker 4: think two and a half was a bad opener. I
- 32:36Speaker 4: don't feel like Houston's necessarily a public team still. You know,
- 32:39Speaker 4: the Texans have been a fade the public team for years,
- 32:42Speaker 4: and they've gotten good the last few seasons. New England's
- 32:44Speaker 4: still a big name franchise. And I also watched the
- 32:48Speaker 4: game last night was thinking, how could you not play
- 32:51Speaker 4: the under? I mean, we just saw them play a
- 32:52Speaker 4: good Chargers defense. Texans statistically are the best d in
- 32:56Speaker 4: the NFL this year points allowed, nan yards allowed, and
- 32:59Speaker 4: LA held the Patriot offense and check. You know, the
- 33:02Speaker 4: big knock on New England this year was that they
- 33:04Speaker 4: didn't play anybody, and when they did step up against
- 33:07Speaker 4: good defensive teams, they were held in check at times.
- 33:10Speaker 4: With that said, though, you know, Joe, when you have
- 33:12Speaker 4: two teams coming off low scoring games, it seems a
- 33:14Speaker 4: little too obvious, right, So yeah, we'll see the under.
- 33:17Speaker 4: It seems like the play and at forty one there
- 33:19Speaker 4: is probably some value DraftKings has a forty and a
- 33:22Speaker 4: half already out there, but it's juice to the over.
- 33:25Speaker 4: Fan too has a forty one and a half Juice
- 33:26Speaker 4: to the under. Everybody else is a forty one. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 4: so you could definitely shop around right now in that total,
- 33:32Speaker 4: it's been moving a little bit depending on what book
- 33:34Speaker 4: you look at.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny. I have my Odds Logic page open, Maryland.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I don't have any books that'd see three and a half.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I got all books that say three circa said three.
- 33:44Speaker 1: But everything is getting juiced right now here on that side.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Now if we do go I'm looking.
- 33:51Speaker 4: At Odds Logic. You don't have self point at three
- 33:53Speaker 4: half point?
- 33:54Speaker 1: No, I don't have that as one of the books
- 33:56Speaker 1: that's on my page that oh I got you.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, that's right, and that's one of the more
- 34:02Speaker 4: square books. To put it nicely out there. In Vegas,
- 34:04Speaker 4: they kind of limited winners at times, so that's interesting
- 34:08Speaker 4: as well that it's going up there. We'll see where
- 34:11Speaker 4: the public comes in. You know, all more data on
- 34:12Speaker 4: that hitting towards the week, and I'm gonna do videos
- 34:14Speaker 4: for all these games on Thursday and Friday, so we'll see,
- 34:18Speaker 4: you know, we'll see if Houston becomes a public team
- 34:20Speaker 4: or not. They just didn't look very impressive last night,
- 34:22Speaker 4: so I'm just not so sure the public's gonna be
- 34:25Speaker 4: jumping on board with them this week.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Hey, I am showing fifty one percent of the ticket,
- 34:30Speaker 1: sixty three percent of the early money towards Houston. But
- 34:33Speaker 1: it's it's clear this might be one of those situations
- 34:37Speaker 1: where it might get split down the middle before it's
- 34:40Speaker 1: all said and done. But even all the books, the
- 34:42Speaker 1: Circus of the World, the even DraftKings, Bet MGM, superb
- 34:48Speaker 1: all are juiced big time here at minus three, So
- 34:52Speaker 1: that could be if you, I would say, if you
- 34:57Speaker 1: like New England, get the three, because it certainly seems
- 35:01Speaker 1: to be heading in that direction, doesn't it.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Dave, Yes, Yes, and three and a half flat at Southway.
- 35:06Speaker 4: But there are some other books that have minus three
- 35:08Speaker 4: and a half even so you're exactly right. It's being
- 35:10Speaker 4: juiced on three juice the other way on three and
- 35:13Speaker 4: a half. You're not getting two and a half again,
- 35:15Speaker 4: that number's gone. I guess the only you know, little
- 35:20Speaker 4: point would be how much juice do you lay on three?
- 35:22Speaker 4: But yeah, minus three with New England, I'm pretty sure
- 35:24Speaker 4: it's gonna be the best number you get with the Patriots,
- 35:26Speaker 4: just depends on maybe how much juice you have to pay.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's that's gonna be an interesting one to
- 35:32Speaker 1: follow because it's still pretty new and early in the week.
- 35:35Speaker 1: We'll see what happens once the limits get jacked up there.
- 35:39Speaker 1: But we have seen a little bit of movement in
- 35:42Speaker 1: the total market with Chicago and the Rams as well. Merrill.
- 35:45Speaker 1: We're seeing forty nine and a half's now opened at
- 35:49Speaker 1: fifty one. It was kind of stagnant twenty four hours ago,
- 35:53Speaker 1: but it appears we've got we've got some under money
- 35:57Speaker 1: hitting the market with the Rams in Chicago, and I'm
- 36:00Speaker 1: that weather report gets a little bit closer. I'm sure
- 36:03Speaker 1: that's gonna flucch Awight as well.
- 36:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and the Rams are a tricky team with totals
- 36:07Speaker 4: because they're as explosive offensively as anybody in the league,
- 36:10Speaker 4: but they're actually one of the best defenses. Also bears
- 36:14Speaker 4: good offense, not a good defense. And you know, I said,
- 36:16Speaker 4: Denver's kind of a phony number one seed. I think
- 36:18Speaker 4: it's because their offense is no good. Chicago, my opinion,
- 36:21Speaker 4: is a phony number two seed because I think their
- 36:23Speaker 4: defense is no good, so you could always, you know,
- 36:26Speaker 4: take some of that out of the equation by looking
- 36:27Speaker 4: at team totals Rams team totals twenty seven and a half,
- 36:32Speaker 4: Bears twenty two and a half. So you could just play,
- 36:34Speaker 4: you know, if you like the over in the game,
- 36:36Speaker 4: just play the RAM team total over twenty seven and
- 36:38Speaker 4: a half, because they do have a good defense that
- 36:41Speaker 4: could maybe hold Chicago and check. We saw Green Bay
- 36:44Speaker 4: hold them in check at times in the game a
- 36:46Speaker 4: few weeks ago, and even for the majority of the
- 36:48Speaker 4: game the other night. And let's not forget Jo. You know,
- 36:50Speaker 4: we talked about first quarter unders, first half unders. Yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 4: those did extremely well this week, even though some of
- 36:55Speaker 4: those games opened up in the second half. It's probably
- 36:58Speaker 4: another strategy of they'll need to work, especially on Saturday
- 37:01Speaker 4: when you have two teams at home that have been
- 37:03Speaker 4: laid off for a couple of weeks. You know, first
- 37:06Speaker 4: quarter under his first half hundreds if you like unders
- 37:08Speaker 4: and games, might be a better way to attack. In fact,
- 37:11Speaker 4: that New England game, let's look at what the first
- 37:14Speaker 4: half under is. First half under there is twenty and
- 37:16Speaker 4: a half. It's kind of an ugly number. Yeah, and
- 37:19Speaker 4: then first first quarter under in that New England Houston game,
- 37:22Speaker 4: it's seven and a half juiced under, well seven over.
- 37:25Speaker 4: I mean, it just shows they've caught onto that concept.
- 37:28Speaker 4: We got nine and a half's under in both games
- 37:30Speaker 4: on Saturday. Every good concept. I have the odds makers
- 37:34Speaker 4: priced me up. They do it.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah, job, the market jumps all over it. But listen,
- 37:38Speaker 1: we told you yesterday it was ugly. I mean it
- 37:42Speaker 1: was eighteen and a half nineteen I think in that
- 37:44Speaker 1: Pittsburgh and Us again, and it was sorry, it's uh.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I can't see us getting to twenty points in the
- 37:50Speaker 1: first half of that game, and they barely got to
- 37:54Speaker 1: nine last night, So that was that was a definitely
- 37:58Speaker 1: disgusting game last night. It looks like we've got some
- 38:02Speaker 1: bigger totals coming up this week, but those are the
- 38:05Speaker 1: big line moves early. But it's only Tuesday. Wait until
- 38:09Speaker 1: those limits start opening up and there's only four games
- 38:12Speaker 1: on the board, which means there's gonna be a lot
- 38:15Speaker 1: more public money flowing in at some point here during
- 38:18Speaker 1: the week, and we'll get you covered there, all right. NBA,
- 38:22Speaker 1: merrill back at it here tonight, boyt. That was some
- 38:26Speaker 1: ugly games. Last night in the Association, I had Dallas
- 38:31Speaker 1: and I almost couldn't watch it without trying to throw
- 38:34Speaker 1: up here, But they ended up getting you done for
- 38:36Speaker 1: us last night. Nothing worse than betting bad teams and
- 38:39Speaker 1: hoping for good things. But we got a couple of
- 38:42Speaker 1: those games on the board here tonight. So talk to
- 38:46Speaker 1: me here, give us an idea of some of these
- 38:49Speaker 1: games here, and give us a breakdown on what you're
- 38:51Speaker 1: looking at.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Gonna look at two late night NBA games for Tonite
- 38:56Speaker 4: Hawks Lakers at ten forty Eastern also Portland. Golden stated
- 38:59Speaker 4: the eleven pm Eastern. We're going late night to say
- 39:02Speaker 4: the least here, and let's start with that Atlanta Lakers
- 39:05Speaker 4: game to ten forty eastern. Obviously some uncertainty with the
- 39:08Speaker 4: Hawks recent trades and whatnot. Porzingis has been ruled out
- 39:11Speaker 4: tonight with the achilles. Luke Canard is questionable to play.
- 39:15Speaker 4: But the big news here is that Doncic has on
- 39:17Speaker 4: the injury report and as of Tuesday afternoon, he is
- 39:20Speaker 4: questionable whether he's going to go tonight with the groin.
- 39:23Speaker 4: And that's why we see currently in this line is
- 39:26Speaker 4: Atlanta as a substantial road favorite here of a field
- 39:29Speaker 4: goal full field goal open minus one, it's now minus three.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Totals dropped a little bit from two thirty three and
- 39:34Speaker 4: a half down to two thirty one and a half.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Just not sure if I trust the Hawks yet to
- 39:39Speaker 4: be fully focused and ready to roll. With that said, though,
- 39:42Speaker 4: they are playing good basketball, three straight wins and covers
- 39:45Speaker 4: their last three. They've gone five and two straight up
- 39:48Speaker 4: and going back further, they're now seven and two against
- 39:50Speaker 4: the spread their last nine. But if you look at
- 39:53Speaker 4: the totals in these games, they've been staying under the total.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Six of their last seven have gone under, and it's
- 39:58Speaker 4: because their defense has started to show up here with
- 40:00Speaker 4: those three straight wins, it's been on the defensive side
- 40:01Speaker 4: of the ball. Lakers, meanwhile, zero and three straight up
- 40:04Speaker 4: in ats their last three, maybe don't have dontic tonight.
- 40:07Speaker 4: I would lean under in this game here between the
- 40:09Speaker 4: Hawks and Lakers. It's dropped a little bit, but still
- 40:11Speaker 4: some value under two thirty one and a half in
- 40:14Speaker 4: that game and then the late game at eleven PM
- 40:16Speaker 4: Eastern Portland and Golden State a similar situation here. Golden
- 40:20Speaker 4: State should be pretty focused after the loss in their
- 40:23Speaker 4: last game against Atlanta. That team the Hawks just beat
- 40:25Speaker 4: was Golden State. Warriors have still won three of their
- 40:28Speaker 4: last four straight up, though defense has been suspect, though
- 40:31Speaker 4: they've given up over fifty percent shooting in five of
- 40:34Speaker 4: their last seven games. But it might not matter tonight
- 40:36Speaker 4: because the Trailblazer is one of the worst offensive teams
- 40:39Speaker 4: in the league. They've shot forty three percent or worse
- 40:42Speaker 4: in three of their last five games, in five of
- 40:44Speaker 4: their last seven, and despite doing that, they have still
- 40:48Speaker 4: won five of their last six games straight up and
- 40:50Speaker 4: against the spread, a recent loss against New York. Not
- 40:53Speaker 4: a believer in Portland, though this line's gone from nine
- 40:55Speaker 4: and a half up to ten and a half. I
- 40:56Speaker 4: think they're a little bit of a phony team. Should
- 40:58Speaker 4: be a focused spot tonight for Golden State. I would
- 41:00Speaker 4: take a look at the Warriors and lay the ten
- 41:02Speaker 4: and a half in this one, so under Lakers Hawks
- 41:05Speaker 4: and a bounce backspot for Golden State minus the ten
- 41:07Speaker 4: and a half. Two late night games for Tuesday, and
- 41:09Speaker 4: don't forget it is five dollars Tuesday, I've got a
- 41:12Speaker 4: five dollar best bet in the NBA in a different game,
- 41:15Speaker 4: and also a five dollar college hoops best bet get
- 41:17Speaker 4: both my top college and pro basketball player for just
- 41:20Speaker 4: five dollars each tonight Steve merrillwager talk dot com and
- 41:23Speaker 4: get there quicker with shortcut WT dot buzz slash sm
- 41:29Speaker 4: great stop Meryll.
- 41:30Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about some college basketball games here tonight.
- 41:34Speaker 1: We'll start with one of them right off the bat
- 41:37Speaker 1: that you don't often see, and that is fog Allen
- 41:41Speaker 1: and Kansas being at home and being a dog, Meryll,
- 41:45Speaker 1: and that never ever happens, but that hows when Iowa State,
- 41:50Speaker 1: I guess comes to town right now. But this is
- 41:53Speaker 1: a pretty big road test for Iowa State here to
- 41:57Speaker 1: go to fog Allen. You know, Peterson Weathery plays long
- 42:00Speaker 1: enough for or doesn't play long enough. It feels like
- 42:03Speaker 1: he's you know, he's playing long enough in big twelve
- 42:07Speaker 1: games to get his twenty some points and then all
- 42:10Speaker 1: of a sudden his legs can't go and he's on
- 42:12Speaker 1: the bench when ice packs and everything else. So you
- 42:15Speaker 1: really got your moneys, weren't there, Bill self? My goodness?
- 42:19Speaker 1: But the question is do we trust in Iowa State team?
- 42:24Speaker 1: So win and win by you know, more than a
- 42:26Speaker 1: bucket is what it looks like. Now, this was as
- 42:28Speaker 1: high as four and a half before we started to
- 42:31Speaker 1: see some buyback. I think it's three now in a
- 42:35Speaker 1: lot of spots in the market. But man, you don't
- 42:37Speaker 1: get to see Kansas as a home dog very often here.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Yeah, there is something to that, and obviously every team
- 42:44Speaker 4: is different every season, but when you have a historically
- 42:46Speaker 4: strong program, historically strong court like that, it does catch
- 42:50Speaker 4: your attention. And we talked about the NFL playoffs. You know,
- 42:53Speaker 4: blindly playing home underdogs for over forty some years now
- 42:56Speaker 4: has been a seventy percent playing in the NFL postseason.
- 42:58Speaker 4: We saw the Panthers almost win out as a double
- 43:00Speaker 4: digit dog, you know. We saw the Bears went out
- 43:03Speaker 4: as well, So I do put some credence in that.
- 43:05Speaker 4: It's very difficult to say lay the points here with that.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Iwa State, even though they are the better team on
- 43:09Speaker 4: paper this year also I was State sixteen, and oh
- 43:12Speaker 4: straight up, you know, we saw Michigan just lose recently.
- 43:15Speaker 4: I think Michigan's the best team in college basketball. When
- 43:17Speaker 4: you're undefeated and running like that, you almost start playing
- 43:19Speaker 4: tight at some point, Whereas I think Kansas has less
- 43:22Speaker 4: to lose here. They're off to a one and two
- 43:24Speaker 4: start in the conference. They're a home dog tonight, so
- 43:26Speaker 4: we'll dig into the matchup a little bit here. I
- 43:29Speaker 4: still have Kansas as a top twenty program, so it's
- 43:31Speaker 4: not like there are a much weaker squad this year.
- 43:33Speaker 4: There's still, you know, probably a four or five seed
- 43:35Speaker 4: in the NCAA Tournament. I was State, it's a one
- 43:37Speaker 4: or two seed. So this isn't a complete mismatch. And
- 43:40Speaker 4: then if you look at the pace of play, both
- 43:41Speaker 4: teams like an upper tempo pace of play. What it's
- 43:44Speaker 4: going to come down to, I think is really if
- 43:46Speaker 4: i Was State hits here at three pointers, the second
- 43:48Speaker 4: best three point shooting team in the country, yeah, forty
- 43:51Speaker 4: one percent. Kansas is the sixth best three point defense
- 43:55Speaker 4: in the country twenty eight percent. On the road, it's
- 43:57Speaker 4: tougher to shoot and make your shots. Hard to predict
- 44:00Speaker 4: three pointers, just like it's hard to predict turnovers and football,
- 44:03Speaker 4: and that's usually what decides both sports. But I get
- 44:05Speaker 4: a sneaking suspicion tonight, Joe that Iowa State might not
- 44:09Speaker 4: be quite as strong from three, and that could be
- 44:10Speaker 4: the difference in this game. So yeah, I think Kansas
- 44:13Speaker 4: definitely could pull the upset which is hard to believe.
- 44:14Speaker 4: We're saying it's an upset they beat I was stayed
- 44:16Speaker 4: at home.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah, well again, they're not going to shoot forty one
- 44:19Speaker 1: percent the entire season Iowa State from three, So this
- 44:22Speaker 1: could be this could be a little bit of a
- 44:24Speaker 1: regression coming here tonight at fog Allen. That place will
- 44:28Speaker 1: be rocking. Also, I can't figure out. One of the
- 44:31Speaker 1: other flips that we've seen here today is with my
- 44:34Speaker 1: boys in Stillwater in Oklahoma State and they opened up
- 44:38Speaker 1: as a two point dog with Baylor come into town.
- 44:41Speaker 1: But Baylor sucks. I don't care who they have in
- 44:45Speaker 1: the portal that came there at twenty eight years old
- 44:49Speaker 1: NBA player doesn't make a difference. I mean, they have
- 44:52Speaker 1: dropped three straight. Houston destroyed them seventy seven to fifty five.
- 44:57Speaker 1: They were two and a half point home dog there
- 45:00Speaker 1: and it wasn't even close. Oklahoma State. It's eleven and
- 45:03Speaker 1: zero back in gallagha Iva there. Now, they did cover
- 45:07Speaker 1: against Iowa State even though they got destroyed eighty three
- 45:10Speaker 1: to seventy one, but they were eighteen and a half
- 45:12Speaker 1: point road dogs in that one. The market is flipped it.
- 45:16Speaker 1: The market does not trust Baylor in this spot, so
- 45:19Speaker 1: they went from a two point favorite to now a
- 45:22Speaker 1: dog here. You know, Baylor zero and two in Big
- 45:26Speaker 1: Twelve road games so far. Oklahoma State much better at
- 45:29Speaker 1: home than they have been on the road. And I
- 45:32Speaker 1: gotta kind of agree with the market. I can't trust
- 45:34Speaker 1: Baylor offensively right now.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I rate these two teams almost dead equal, Joe
- 45:40Speaker 4: am I they're both barely top fifty teams. Like you said,
- 45:43Speaker 4: both off t the go. Oklahoma start off to the
- 45:46Speaker 4: Baylor off to the OZH and three starting conference. I
- 45:49Speaker 4: really don't think there's much of a difference between these squads.
- 45:52Speaker 4: So I think that's one of the reasons we've seen
- 45:54Speaker 4: some money coming to Oklahoma State. Is I just don't
- 45:56Speaker 4: as you said, I don't think Baylor should have been
- 45:57Speaker 4: a road favor. Minus two especially was a stranger. We're
- 46:00Speaker 4: a thought in this game, even at the Pickham price range. Now,
- 46:03Speaker 4: I think there's some value with Oklahoma State fifth fastest
- 46:06Speaker 4: tempo in the country. They like to get up and down.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Baylor likes that play at style of play as well,
- 46:11Speaker 4: so I don't think either team will be unhappy with it.
- 46:13Speaker 4: Both teams are very good offensive teams. Both offenses hold
- 46:16Speaker 4: the edge total, though has actually dropped one sixty eight
- 46:19Speaker 4: and a half down to one sixty six. We always
- 46:22Speaker 4: talk about how the highest totals go over, lowest totals
- 46:25Speaker 4: go under under. I think there's some value with the
- 46:27Speaker 4: over in this game, now over one sixty six and
- 46:30Speaker 4: at a Pickham range, I probably lean in Oklahoma State
- 46:32Speaker 4: is I favored them buy a couple of baskets here,
- 46:34Speaker 4: but the total might be the best way to attack this.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Two fast paced teams and two offenses that hold the edge.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. I think that this should be a go.
- 46:42Speaker 1: And there's a lot of those across the board here
- 46:45Speaker 1: tonight in college basketball. It is a huge sleigh tier.
- 46:50Speaker 1: But we also have, of course, our mail bag that's
- 46:56Speaker 1: coming up here where some of the viewer question and
- 47:00Speaker 1: comments there from yesterday's show will highlight. But first, like promised,
- 47:06Speaker 1: we have a very special visitor, and I mean special
- 47:10Speaker 1: because the Pres is special. But Pres is here. He's
- 47:14Speaker 1: got a great opportunity for you guys tonight. Not to mention,
- 47:18Speaker 1: he's got an NHL rundown he's going to go through. So, Pres,
- 47:22Speaker 1: what do you got going for us here today?
- 47:24Speaker 5: Joe and Airy thanks for doing this. It's time for
- 47:27Speaker 5: your NHL rundown, everybody, and I came on today's show
- 47:30Speaker 5: even though I made Day two of the poker tournament
- 47:33Speaker 5: and starting in an hour. I came on because I
- 47:35Speaker 5: have one of those must bet plays.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Today.
- 47:37Speaker 5: It's a customer appreciation Tuesday. It's five dollars and I
- 47:42Speaker 5: have one of my probably the single most consistently profitable
- 47:47Speaker 5: bet I ever make in my life, and it is today,
- 47:50Speaker 5: and it is.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Very very rare.
- 47:52Speaker 3: We only had one of these recently and we won it.
- 47:55Speaker 5: Bottom line, guys, as I got a four percent NHL
- 47:57Speaker 5: play tonight. To give you perspective, this is a money
- 48:01Speaker 5: line bet. I am on an eight and two run
- 48:04Speaker 5: in these I am forty one and seventeen in these plays.
- 48:09Speaker 5: That's sixty seven percent since twenty twenty two.
- 48:14Speaker 1: That is correct.
- 48:15Speaker 5: Since the beginning of the twenty twenty two season. I
- 48:18Speaker 5: am forty one and seventeen in these plays. This is
- 48:22Speaker 5: as strong as it gets. It's only five dollars. Please
- 48:27Speaker 5: make sure make sure to bet this play, and make
- 48:31Speaker 5: sure to do it tonight. It also comes I have
- 48:36Speaker 5: an nfl ats five percent play. I got a promo
- 48:39Speaker 5: code inside there for you. Okay, guys, we've got our
- 48:43Speaker 5: NHL rundown coming your way. Let's get straight into it.
- 48:47Speaker 5: A whole lot of games tonight. We're going to start
- 48:50Speaker 5: right off the bat with Vancouver playing Ottawa. I like
- 48:54Speaker 5: the under in this game. It is six. Vancouver struggling
- 48:56Speaker 5: to score. We saw then put up a nothing against
- 48:59Speaker 5: the Leafs. Take under the total of six. Washington playing Montreal,
- 49:05Speaker 5: all I like this game to go under the total
- 49:09Speaker 5: of six as well. I also lean on Washington, but
- 49:12Speaker 5: I don't like the line. Tampa Bay playing Pittsburgh. I
- 49:16Speaker 5: like over the total of six here, guys, keep taking,
- 49:19Speaker 5: keep taking Pittsburgh games over. Keep looking to take Tampa
- 49:23Speaker 5: Bay games over. You should win on a regular basis.
- 49:26Speaker 5: Calgary playing Columbus. I look at Columbus here at minus
- 49:30Speaker 5: one forty against Calgary. Detroit hosting on the road playing
- 49:35Speaker 5: Boston tonight. I like under the total. You can get
- 49:38Speaker 5: a six and a half there, guys, so look to
- 49:41Speaker 5: take that. Carolina playing Saint Louis. Look, Carolina, this team
- 49:46Speaker 5: is going over, and Saint Louis they're struggling. I like
- 49:50Speaker 5: Carolina here, but I like them in regulation. I don't
- 49:53Speaker 5: want to lay minus one sixty five, especially with their
- 49:55Speaker 5: goaltending problems. Take Carolina in regulation. Take Edmonton and Nashville
- 50:02Speaker 5: to go over six and a half, and take Edmonton again.
- 50:05Speaker 5: I gave it out on my Instagram channel yesterday. Take
- 50:10Speaker 5: Edmonton again, New York Islanders playing Winnipeg. I like the
- 50:14Speaker 5: under in this game, and I like the under in
- 50:17Speaker 5: the Toronto Utah game. A great ever by Toronto last night.
- 50:21Speaker 5: Bad spot with Toronto as well. I do like Utah
- 50:24Speaker 5: and I take them in regulation, and I like Dallas
- 50:27Speaker 5: over Anaheim. Guys, thanks for listening, and please, if you
- 50:32Speaker 5: don't mind, five dollars head over grab my four percent
- 50:37Speaker 5: NHL money line bet. This is as big a play
- 50:40Speaker 5: as I give out, and they're very very rare.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Thanks so much. Back to Joe and Steve. Always good
- 50:48Speaker 1: to see the press. Probably have to see him again tomorrow,
- 50:51Speaker 1: buts hopefully he gets through with that poker tournament wins
- 50:55Speaker 1: a few bucks. Either way, we're gonna call Shenanigans on
- 50:59Speaker 1: them when again. Back here tomorrow, Meryl, let's take a
- 51:02Speaker 1: look at the mail bag here, Steve. A lot of
- 51:04Speaker 1: folks love to see you here on the show at
- 51:07Speaker 1: the Best Betting Show ever, which is always great. Somebody
- 51:12Speaker 1: what I think it was ghost Win Sports wants to
- 51:16Speaker 1: know how much longer can the Bears continue to be
- 51:20Speaker 1: the cardiac kids and win games like they have done.
- 51:25Speaker 1: They can they run the table? Art said the Bears
- 51:29Speaker 1: would be devastating to the books in the future markets.
- 51:33Speaker 1: If the Bears actually get to the Super Bowl and
- 51:37Speaker 1: win it, that would be a That would be a
- 51:39Speaker 1: bad situation for the book. But I don't know that.
- 51:43Speaker 1: You feel like the rucket the luck is running out
- 51:45Speaker 1: here with the Bears. Meryl.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Yeah, they're gonna be an underdog in every remaining game.
- 51:50Speaker 4: They'd have to win three more straight games, and underdogs,
- 51:53Speaker 4: they'd have to win four straight as a dog. Now,
- 51:55Speaker 4: it's not a coincidence that they make comebacks. They remind
- 51:57Speaker 4: me so much of not my Washington Commanders last season.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Young quarterback come from behind, wins questionable defense, and we
- 52:05Speaker 4: saw the Commanders come back down to earth. It was
- 52:07Speaker 4: my strongest season totals win play probably in several years,
- 52:11Speaker 4: under nine and a half. We've cashed it before their
- 52:13Speaker 4: bye week, and by the way, Dangles getting hurt it
- 52:16Speaker 4: was factored into that handicap because I thought he was
- 52:18Speaker 4: a ticking time bomb running the ball as much as
- 52:20Speaker 4: he does. Caleb Williams, bigger, stronger, doesn't run as much,
- 52:23Speaker 4: so that's not as likely. But you still win with
- 52:25Speaker 4: defense with championships. Now, I think Denver's a little phony
- 52:28Speaker 4: as well, because they don't have enough offense. And as
- 52:30Speaker 4: I pointed out yesterday, teams that win close games, margin
- 52:33Speaker 4: of victory matters, and that's how the points spread is said.
- 52:36Speaker 4: It's margin of victory and schedule strength. The Bears, the Broncos,
- 52:40Speaker 4: teams like that that keep having narrow wins, The Commanders
- 52:43Speaker 4: last year, the Chiefs last year fit that category, and
- 52:45Speaker 4: we saw how they regress this year. So yeah, I
- 52:48Speaker 4: don't think the Bears run the table here, and they're
- 52:50Speaker 4: definitely a regression candidate even next season, maybe if they
- 52:53Speaker 4: don't shore up that defense a little bit in the offseason.
- 52:55Speaker 1: I agree there. Also, we've got Dennis Carter, ju says,
- 53:01Speaker 1: you know, John Elway used to be called the comeback kid. Meryll,
- 53:04Speaker 1: He says, he guess is Josh Allen has got to
- 53:06Speaker 1: be the new comeback kid. Listen, I could say Caleb
- 53:09Speaker 1: Williams is the new comeback kid. Would have spenny games
- 53:12Speaker 1: as they have done, but I think they've won in
- 53:15Speaker 1: the you know, in spite of him. But Josh Allen,
- 53:18Speaker 1: Now that's somebody that has not just been doing it
- 53:21Speaker 1: one season. He's all he does in December and January,
- 53:25Speaker 1: Steve is that when the game and the teams in
- 53:28Speaker 1: the competition is better, all he does is win games.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I mean, it's even against this defense of Denver, who,
- 53:34Speaker 1: by the way, over the last couple of weeks of
- 53:36Speaker 1: the season, is not the same suffocating defense that it
- 53:40Speaker 1: was earlier in the year. But he plays his best
- 53:43Speaker 1: against better defenses. He always has. That's just that's you know,
- 53:48Speaker 1: you don't come across that. But comeback, kid, I'm sure
- 53:52Speaker 1: he'd rather not have to comfort behind in the fourth
- 53:55Speaker 1: quarter of the second half, merrill of every game. But
- 53:58Speaker 1: it does feel a lot very But you know, John
- 54:00Speaker 1: Elway asked what we're getting from man.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's funny you mentioned that because that last question
- 54:06Speaker 4: I was about to say. You know another team that
- 54:08Speaker 4: comes to mind with all these comebacks and questionable defenses
- 54:10Speaker 4: the Buffalo Bills. Their run d gives up just like Chicago.
- 54:14Speaker 4: Both give up over five yards of carry that's half
- 54:16Speaker 4: a first down every time the team opponent runs the ball,
- 54:18Speaker 4: you can't. That's not sustainable normally. The difference, though, is
- 54:22Speaker 4: it's not a fluke. They come back because Caleboys was
- 54:24Speaker 4: playing great, Jayden Daniels played great last year and Josh
- 54:26Speaker 4: Allen's better than both of them. And what is it
- 54:28Speaker 4: I think now thirty six come from behind wins in
- 54:31Speaker 4: the fourth quarter or whatever that stat was they showed
- 54:33Speaker 4: last week it was thirty five as he was driving
- 54:36Speaker 4: down the field. I don't remember the exact qualifier. I
- 54:38Speaker 4: think maybe it was fourth quarter comeback in his career.
- 54:41Speaker 4: So now it's thirty six. So yeah, there's something to that,
- 54:43Speaker 4: right and John Elloy there was, and they're both really good.
- 54:45Speaker 4: They're MVP caliber quarterbacks. And I will say, you know,
- 54:48Speaker 4: we talked about this yesterday, like if experience matters, it's
- 54:52Speaker 4: like the Rams, the forty nine ers and maybe the Bills, Theos,
- 54:55Speaker 4: like the only three teams left in the playoffs that
- 54:57Speaker 4: you could say have any kind of big game experience,
- 55:00Speaker 4: whether in the conference title game or even the Super Bowl.
- 55:02Speaker 4: And there again you start looking at the quarterbacks for
- 55:04Speaker 4: those teams. Matthew Stafford's the favorite to be MVP. Drake
- 55:08Speaker 4: May is the second favorite, but he doesn't have the experience.
- 55:11Speaker 4: But Josh Allen is up there as well. He has
- 55:13Speaker 4: the experience. And I'll even throw rock Party. I don't
- 55:16Speaker 4: know if he has all the experience, but he's been
- 55:17Speaker 4: clutched now, been there for a few years. And was
- 55:20Speaker 4: he in the super Bowl? He made the super Bowl
- 55:22Speaker 4: that first year, right, yeah, but he.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Didn't play because that's where they had to go, like uh.
- 55:26Speaker 4: He when they remember his rookie year. If they made
- 55:29Speaker 4: it or not.
- 55:32Speaker 1: To the NFC Championship.
- 55:33Speaker 4: I believe they lost it home. I think to they
- 55:36Speaker 4: maybe the Eagles or somebody.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Josh Johnson, yeah yeah, yeah.
- 55:41Speaker 4: So we have two and a half qualifiers Stafford and
- 55:44Speaker 4: Allen and then maybe Party. And I will say this
- 55:48Speaker 4: too about the Niners. You look up Mac Jones's numbers,
- 55:50Speaker 4: they were five and three with them. I think they're
- 55:52Speaker 4: like eight or nine and one now with Party this year.
- 55:54Speaker 4: Whatever the record is, Mac Jones is like yards per
- 55:57Speaker 4: pass QB rating, We're almost identical in the games he played.
- 56:00Speaker 4: So could also make an argument maybe the San franc
- 56:03Speaker 4: system is just good and you know, Shanahan and whatnot.
- 56:06Speaker 4: But yeah, if you really break it down, simplistically, it's
- 56:08Speaker 4: gonna be Rams Bills, right, but I still don't trust
- 56:11Speaker 4: that Buffalo defense. But that's another reason I'm not big
- 56:13Speaker 4: on Chicago. They'd have to get through both the Rams
- 56:15Speaker 4: and Seattle, who I think are probably the two most
- 56:17Speaker 4: complete teams right now.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Yeah, well, he actually did. He actually made it to
- 56:22Speaker 1: the super Bowl. They lost to the Chiefs in twenty
- 56:24Speaker 1: twenty four. You're right, twenty three, twenty four, right, and
- 56:28Speaker 1: five and two in the playoffs, so.
- 56:32Speaker 4: You know, Okay, Yeah, I thought he maybe made his
- 56:34Speaker 4: rookie season because that's where he came out of nowhere,
- 56:36Speaker 4: started the second half of the season and had the
- 56:38Speaker 4: monster run. Okay, so I throw him in the mix.
- 56:40Speaker 4: He's got super Bowl experience, yep. I'd say, if you
- 56:43Speaker 4: can win the conference championship, you have experienced at that point.
- 56:45Speaker 1: We got there, I agree. Yeah, And now you know,
- 56:48Speaker 1: and they've pulled off some upsets his rookie year twenty
- 56:51Speaker 1: twenty two. They ended up beating the Seahawks in the
- 56:54Speaker 1: wild card. They beat the Cowboys in the Divisional, but
- 56:57Speaker 1: they lost to the Eagles. That's when they had the
- 56:59Speaker 1: go I think wildcat or whatever the hell that was.
- 57:02Speaker 1: It was Actually he was araz It's been that long.
- 57:04Speaker 4: I thought two rookie Seaton, Yeah, yep, man ten years old.
- 57:09Speaker 4: I could tell you every score of every Super Bowl
- 57:11Speaker 4: for the first twenty years, and I can't even tell
- 57:13Speaker 4: you played in it two years ago. I didn't remember.
- 57:15Speaker 4: I knew they were in it recently. And that might
- 57:17Speaker 4: start irrelevant hewers out there, but it's just like you're
- 57:20Speaker 4: talking about twenty games every day and every sport. It
- 57:22Speaker 4: just starts to yep, overload.
- 57:25Speaker 1: First rookie quarterback since Russell Wilson in twenty twelve to
- 57:29Speaker 1: win a playoff game. That's who he is, Mister irrelevant
- 57:32Speaker 1: kind of and nobody puts him in that category. It's
- 57:35Speaker 1: so funny nobody looks at him that. But I mean,
- 57:39Speaker 1: the guy is certainly when it comes to experience, you
- 57:42Speaker 1: have to take what he brings to the table pretty well.
- 57:44Speaker 1: And again to go on the road and do it
- 57:47Speaker 1: was pretty down impressive even against you know that Philadelphia offense.
- 57:51Speaker 1: But we'll the luck run out against Seattle this week.
- 57:54Speaker 1: I don't know, are we really banking on Sam Donald
- 58:00Speaker 1: if you had, I mean, just from a quarterback perspective,
- 58:03Speaker 1: who's got more experience? Brock Perty or Sam Donald in
- 58:06Speaker 1: his spot.
- 58:07Speaker 4: Great, great point. I was just going to say there
- 58:09Speaker 4: was a name I did not mention during that whole conversation.
- 58:11Speaker 4: If you were calling it was on purpose. I did
- 58:13Speaker 4: not mention Sam Donald. He does not quit. He does
- 58:15Speaker 4: not fit any of those qualifiers. Now Drake May doesn't either,
- 58:18Speaker 4: but May's just like the second of the MVP odds
- 58:21Speaker 4: right now. So I think he's had a slightly better
- 58:22Speaker 4: season than Donald. Yep, strall, you know Strald that has
- 58:25Speaker 4: had some wins in the playoffs. But if you really
- 58:28Speaker 4: look at it, it's an interesting system to use as well.
- 58:31Speaker 4: In the NFL. During the regular season, we talked about
- 58:33Speaker 4: Kansas being a rare home dog.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Yep.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Getting the better quarterback as an underdog price in the
- 58:38Speaker 4: NFL is probably. I haven't back tested that. Probably should.
- 58:42Speaker 4: You'd have to put some quantifiers on it. You'd almost
- 58:44Speaker 4: have to do it by hand, because you know, I
- 58:46Speaker 4: don't know you quantify who was the better quarterback maybe
- 58:48Speaker 4: career QB rating or something, or for that season. You
- 58:51Speaker 4: could do something like that. But the eyeball test, I
- 58:54Speaker 4: think we would all agree that party has had the
- 58:56Speaker 4: better career consistently than Donald getting him as a dog
- 58:59Speaker 4: of a yep. And we also have the quick revenge spot,
- 59:04Speaker 4: you know, Bowl rematches. The team that lost the regular
- 59:07Speaker 4: season game is five and one. The only one that
- 59:09Speaker 4: buck that trim was all miss beating Tulane is like
- 59:11Speaker 4: a three touchdown favorite, and that's a quick rematch there
- 59:14Speaker 4: too with Seattle San fran YEP. I'll be interesting to
- 59:17Speaker 4: see what the public lines up on that one.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Five and two in the postseason with Super Bowl experience,
- 59:24Speaker 1: you know, let me know when Sam Donald gets those
- 59:28Speaker 1: you know, five wins in the postseason, Let's see how
- 59:30Speaker 1: that rolls out there. But that's why I got to
- 59:33Speaker 1: play the game, and they'll do that on Sunday. Final game,
- 59:37Speaker 1: I believe, of the two on Saturday. San Francisco Seattle
- 59:42Speaker 1: is the late game on Saturday, Buffalo and Denver is
- 59:45Speaker 1: the four to thirty game, and then Houston and New
- 59:48Speaker 1: England kicks it off on Sunday at three. So that
- 59:52Speaker 1: final game is going to be Rams versus Chicago this week,
- 59:56Speaker 1: and that'll be Sunday night at six thirty. So a
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: lot can happen between now and then, but we will
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: certainly keep you posting art the season all week long.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Steve Merrill always a pleasure man. It's been a lot
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: of fun having you on the show. And you and
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I both press well Thursday Thursday exact press confirmed. Yes
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: he's flying.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Apparently he told me today I'm doing to day and Thursday,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: so you have him tomorrow. Yes, he's your responsibility, and
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: then Thursday were okay, and then Friday he get him again.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: I would assume yes.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Really think this would be great if we can only
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: get Brian Power in, that would be really a homecoming.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: All good stuff. Merrill enjoyed the damn games here tonight.
