- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle. I'm here again, and so
- 0:05Speaker 1: are you. I guess yeah. I was having a pretty
- 0:09Speaker 1: good day until my health insurance plan decided to disenroll me,
- 0:15Speaker 1: or not really my health insurance plan. The health insurance
- 0:18Speaker 1: marketplace was just like, you're gonna be disenrolled, and it's like,
- 0:22Speaker 1: but but we already did this this year. Everything was fine.
- 0:26Speaker 1: So now it's not fine anymore, and I have to
- 0:28Speaker 1: pay a lot of money for health insurance. I mean,
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm still getting like a tax credit because I'm pretty poor,
- 0:36Speaker 1: but something happened and now it's not really cheap. It's
- 0:40Speaker 1: kind of almost hardship. Yay, everything's great. I'm so excited,
- 0:45Speaker 1: But who the hell cares because we're gonna talk about
- 0:49Speaker 1: Banana Fish episode seventeen, which is one of the episodes
- 0:52Speaker 1: I've been waiting and looking forward to talking about. So
- 0:55Speaker 1: I'm almost excited despite everything. Before we get to that,
- 1:00Speaker 1: I just wanted to say one thing about Done, the
- 1:04Speaker 1: Done episode eats, which I watched a couple days ago now,
- 1:08Speaker 1: and if for some reason you're watching that show, this
- 1:10Speaker 1: is the first time since it started that I was like, man,
- 1:14Speaker 1: fucking bullshit tropes, So dun Dana has a lot of
- 1:18Speaker 1: elements of romance, uh kind of rom com stuff going on,
- 1:23Speaker 1: and they pulled the this isn't what it looks like
- 1:26Speaker 1: someone's on top of someone else thing, and then the
- 1:29Speaker 1: person that that person likes walks into the room or whatever,
- 1:32Speaker 1: and they're like, I can't explain, but I swear I'm
- 1:35Speaker 1: not cheating on you kind of thing. I fucking hate
- 1:37Speaker 1: that trope. I hate those kind of like misunderstandings that
- 1:42Speaker 1: are caused by a lie that kind of like spiral
- 1:45Speaker 1: and now no one can talk to each other. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: then the person tries to explain, the other person's like,
- 1:48Speaker 1: I'm not gonna listen to you. I hate that shit
- 1:50Speaker 1: so much stresses me out. I'm not saying it isn't realistic.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I'm just saying I don't want to see it. Also,
- 1:57Speaker 1: there's something going on obviously relating to that, where we're
- 2:00Speaker 1: almost having like this love triangle or you have two
- 2:04Speaker 1: people who are interested in one of the main characters romantically,
- 2:08Speaker 1: and that's never something that I really enjoyed, to be
- 2:13Speaker 1: honest with you, in my experience, small boys in glasses
- 2:19Speaker 1: who really like aliens don't have multiple women who think
- 2:24Speaker 1: that they're attractive and want to be their girlfriends. This
- 2:28Speaker 1: is not a thing. So if you hate me for that,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I just that was the first time since
- 2:34Speaker 1: I started watching it that I was like, man, I
- 2:37Speaker 1: really don't want to do this. So now you know
- 2:40Speaker 1: about that. And also it was kind of relevant to
- 2:43Speaker 1: some of the stuff that happens in this episode, so
- 2:45Speaker 1: that's why I wanted to bring it up. So let's
- 2:48Speaker 1: get right to it sort of. So again, this is
- 2:52Speaker 1: episode seventeen. It is called The Killers, and that is
- 2:56Speaker 1: also the name of a short story by Ernest Hemingway,
- 3:00Speaker 1: which is apparently about two hit men who are at
- 3:03Speaker 1: a restaurant because they're supposed to kill a boxer there
- 3:07Speaker 1: or something, but he doesn't show up. That's all I know, guys.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But if we're speaking about hitmen, that actually might work
- 3:17Speaker 1: a little bit with this episode. So congratulations for choosing
- 3:21Speaker 1: a title that kind of almost worked. Also, I just
- 3:25Speaker 1: think the Killers is a cool title, and also, unrelated
- 3:30Speaker 1: to the short story, does work with this episode. So
- 3:33Speaker 1: let's let's do it, because I already said that like
- 3:36Speaker 1: three times right. Anyway, if you remember, at the end
- 3:40Speaker 1: of the last episode, Ash was going off into Manhattan
- 3:45Speaker 1: to find age, so we pick up I Guess a
- 3:49Speaker 1: little bit after that with an exterior shot of Chinatown.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Then we hear Sing saying Ash's operation went well. He
- 3:57Speaker 1: was recovering, and we see saying and he's sitting at
- 4:00Speaker 1: a table with some like gang members that we don't
- 4:02Speaker 1: really know, and he continues, I heard that from a
- 4:05Speaker 1: reliable source. He couldn't have just suddenly died. I mean,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you can just suddenly die, but still, and then we
- 4:12Speaker 1: kind of cut to a wider shot and we see
- 4:14Speaker 1: that the people he is talking to are Ash is
- 4:17Speaker 1: Gang yay, and KNG is like yeah, but and Alex
- 4:22Speaker 1: kind of takes over and says all the news stations
- 4:24Speaker 1: are saying it again and again, Agi, who is there,
- 4:27Speaker 1: says yeah, but it's a lie, and Sing's like goal,
- 4:31Speaker 1: see built that center and Alex is like really, and
- 4:35Speaker 1: Sing says, I heard that from a reliable source too.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Then we hear a voice say, but that's old news,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and everyone looks over at the door and it's Ash. Yay,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you found them. That wasn't even that hard. Actually, in
- 4:48Speaker 1: the manga, there's a little bit in between where he
- 4:50Speaker 1: goes looking but still yay. Everyone of course, is super
- 4:55Speaker 1: surprised to see him, and Ag is just staring at
- 4:59Speaker 1: him and Ashes like, what do I look like a
- 5:02Speaker 1: zombie or something. AG kind of looks away and he thinks, yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 1: that's really him. Sing says how'd you find us? And
- 5:11Speaker 1: Ash is like, I heard from Kine that you were
- 5:13Speaker 1: released with Ag. Awesome, Kane, thanks for looking out. What
- 5:17Speaker 1: are you guys doing here? AG's like, we were going
- 5:20Speaker 1: to help you, and Sing says, he told me everything,
- 5:24Speaker 1: like why you had to kill Shorter. Oh. Ash grabs
- 5:28Speaker 1: Sing by the arm and pulls him out of the
- 5:30Speaker 1: room and he says, you all stay here. We cut
- 5:33Speaker 1: to them on the rooftop where Ash shows singing against
- 5:37Speaker 1: the wall and he's like, don't tell anyone. Sing says
- 5:41Speaker 1: why you can't just boss me around and Ash just
- 5:44Speaker 1: slaps him. At this point, we hear a door open
- 5:48Speaker 1: and Ag says, hey, he was trying to help us.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Ash's like, I told you to stay there, and then
- 5:55Speaker 1: he turns to Sing and he's like, if word of
- 5:58Speaker 1: this gets out, your friends will be killed and you
- 6:00Speaker 1: call yourself a boss. Ag kind of steps between them
- 6:04Speaker 1: and he's like, Ash, why do you always have to
- 6:06Speaker 1: be like this Ash like kind of looks away and
- 6:10Speaker 1: AG continues, he was trying to help you, and ashe says,
- 6:14Speaker 1: then I'm just asking for one thing. Do nothing, And
- 6:19Speaker 1: sings like, fine, have it. You're a way. I won't
- 6:21Speaker 1: stop them anymore. To them, you're the bad guy who
- 6:24Speaker 1: killed Shorter. That goes for me too, you know. And
- 6:28Speaker 1: he just like runs back to the door and AG says,
- 6:31Speaker 1: see now you made him mad and Ash is like,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and you why did you tell him? Ag says if
- 6:39Speaker 1: I didn't, he still would have misunderstood and he would
- 6:42Speaker 1: have killed you. Ash is like a little brad like
- 6:45Speaker 1: that can't kill me, and AG says it hurts not
- 6:49Speaker 1: to be told the truth. He kind of looks down
- 6:52Speaker 1: and he's like, I get how he feels. So I
- 6:55Speaker 1: told him, huh, I know him, not any help, but
- 6:59Speaker 1: I would she trust me a little more. Ash is
- 7:04Speaker 1: not really looking at Ag at all, and he says,
- 7:07Speaker 1: I never said I didn't. I just want to keep
- 7:10Speaker 1: you safe. Heg's like, yeah, I know that, but and
- 7:16Speaker 1: he sighs, let's not fight. This isn't what I wanted.
- 7:20Speaker 1: He kind of closes the gap between them and he
- 7:23Speaker 1: stops when he's just a couple of inches away from Ash,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and Ash turns towards him and Ag just tugs him
- 7:30Speaker 1: and he says, I'm so glad you're safe. Ash looks
- 7:36Speaker 1: sad or confused and sad. He kind of like lifts
- 7:42Speaker 1: his arms trying to decide what he's supposed to do
- 7:46Speaker 1: with his hands in this moment, and eventually he embraces
- 7:51Speaker 1: Ag back. And then we go to the opening theme,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and I wrote that I'm not crying, then you're crying,
- 8:02Speaker 1: but I am like very close to crying. So before
- 8:06Speaker 1: we go forward with the episode, since we're at a
- 8:08Speaker 1: perfect stopping point at the opening theme, I just wanted
- 8:12Speaker 1: to point out how stark of a contrast this is
- 8:15Speaker 1: from the last episode where we were kind of like
- 8:17Speaker 1: slapstick and Ash was kind of animated mostly when he
- 8:20Speaker 1: was by himself, by the way, so he wasn't conforming
- 8:24Speaker 1: to anyone else's pressures. And I mean also with Max
- 8:28Speaker 1: and Shinichi, you know, But now that he is with
- 8:31Speaker 1: the gang again, he is this just cold, very to
- 8:36Speaker 1: the point version of himself. And I don't know, it's
- 8:41Speaker 1: like kind of caught me off guard this watch through.
- 8:45Speaker 1: We haven't seen quite anything like this since episode eleven,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and for me, this just felt even more stark than
- 8:52Speaker 1: it did in eleven. But yeah, I fucking love this.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It's just done so well. But he's back and he's
- 9:00Speaker 1: already hugged Agy, which is just lovely. Anyway, we come
- 9:06Speaker 1: back from the opening to Hua Lung sitting on the couch,
- 9:11Speaker 1: looking dead eyed like he does now, and we hear
- 9:14Speaker 1: the door open somewhere else in the room and we
- 9:17Speaker 1: hear Golzin say, mister Lee Hua Lung, thank you for
- 9:21Speaker 1: inviting me over. Golesin and Gregory walk into the room
- 9:25Speaker 1: because Gregory's always there, and Hua Lung doesn't acknowledge them
- 9:29Speaker 1: because he can't. Basically, Dino just kind of stares at
- 9:33Speaker 1: him for a second and he's like hmm. He walks
- 9:37Speaker 1: over to Hua Lung and he says, do you know
- 9:40Speaker 1: who I am? And then we hear Yue Lung say,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm the one who invited you, and he walks towards
- 9:47Speaker 1: do you know and he says, do you remember me?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Dino's like, of course you're mister Lee Yue Lung. Yue
- 9:55Speaker 1: Lung's like, forgive me for inviting in my brother's name,
- 9:59Speaker 1: but you must see why it had to be done. Now,
- 10:01Speaker 1: Dino looks back over at the catatonic Hua Lung and
- 10:06Speaker 1: he's like, I see. We then cut to a chart
- 10:11Speaker 1: with Dino, Kipperholestock, smiles, Mannerheim, Zacharrev on it, along with
- 10:17Speaker 1: some other people and all their relations and the people
- 10:20Speaker 1: in the Chinese mafia. It's just like a big chart
- 10:24Speaker 1: of how everybody relates to each other, like I just said,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and ue Lung says, and that's how Banana Fish began
- 10:31Speaker 1: the project. You're so obsessed with, Dino's like, you've really
- 10:35Speaker 1: done your research. We see now that they're sitting at
- 10:38Speaker 1: a table and the chart is being projected onto a
- 10:41Speaker 1: large projector's screen obviously on the wall next to them.
- 10:44Speaker 1: We also see that it has information about Shorter and
- 10:47Speaker 1: Griffin on it. It's got everybody. Yue Lung says, you
- 10:52Speaker 1: even did experiments on American soldiers in Iraq, and among
- 10:57Speaker 1: them was the brother of your beloved ash Lynx. Ironic destiny,
- 11:01Speaker 1: is it not? Golzine is just kind of staring at
- 11:04Speaker 1: this point. He's impressed. I suppose, yue Lung continues. Anyway,
- 11:10Speaker 1: your obsession bore fruit with Banana Fish, and it became
- 11:13Speaker 1: a strategic weapon of colossal worth. Leonard fulcan on the Foundation.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Bor died this morning in an accident. Five more remain
- 11:21Speaker 1: of the members who kicked you out. What if I
- 11:24Speaker 1: offered to get rid of them for you, you could
- 11:26Speaker 1: take control over the entire foundation, Dino says, what do
- 11:31Speaker 1: you wanted to return? Yuelong is like Lee Wang Lung
- 11:36Speaker 1: is the head of the Lee clan. He stands help
- 11:39Speaker 1: me kill him and my other brothers excluding Hua'long. He
- 11:44Speaker 1: is like walking in front of the screen at this point,
- 11:46Speaker 1: so it's projected onto him, and it looks really fucking cool. Actually,
- 11:50Speaker 1: Dino says, what did you say? Yue Lung's like, and
- 11:54Speaker 1: their wives and children? What every last person with Lee
- 11:58Speaker 1: blood in them? We got two ash who is looking
- 12:01Speaker 1: out the window in their apartment, you know, the really
- 12:04Speaker 1: nice one. It's like one of those big full windows.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It takes up like from the floor to the ceiling,
- 12:10Speaker 1: so you'd get like a really nice view, you know
- 12:13Speaker 1: that kind of thing. And the room is kind of
- 12:17Speaker 1: lit by the glow of sunset. Looks nice. We hear
- 12:21Speaker 1: the door open and ag enters and he's like, you
- 12:24Speaker 1: up already, Oh, maybe it's sunrise. Actually, and Ash says,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I've slept enough. Look the sunsetting. Oh okay, so it
- 12:32Speaker 1: is sunset. I guess he just slept all day, which
- 12:34Speaker 1: makes sense. He's had a little bit of a rough
- 12:38Speaker 1: time lately anyway. He continues that and sunrise are the
- 12:42Speaker 1: only things worth seeing in this dump. He turns away
- 12:45Speaker 1: from the window and he sees that Ag is staring
- 12:47Speaker 1: at him. He says, what's wrong. AG's like, it's just
- 12:53Speaker 1: that I'm really glad you're safe. Ash just kind of
- 12:58Speaker 1: stares for a second, and he looks back out the window.
- 13:01Speaker 1: He says, you should call eBay. I won't try to
- 13:04Speaker 1: make you go home anymore. AG's like, I can stay,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and Ash says, you wouldn't go home even if I
- 13:12Speaker 1: said no. Besides, it seems like it's better for me
- 13:15Speaker 1: if you stay. Oh. Ag is well. He looks a
- 13:19Speaker 1: little surprised, and Ash continues, even if I send you
- 13:23Speaker 1: back to Japan, I'd still be worried to death about you.
- 13:27Speaker 1: He at this point looks at Ag again, and he says,
- 13:31Speaker 1: so I'd rather have you stay where I can see you.
- 13:35Speaker 1: There's a long pause. Me too, and Ag is just
- 13:39Speaker 1: staring at him, and Ash says, say something. AG just
- 13:44Speaker 1: continues to stare. Ash furrows his brow and he's like
- 13:48Speaker 1: blushing now, and he's like, you want me to ask
- 13:51Speaker 1: you to stay by my side again. Eg's eyes widen
- 13:55Speaker 1: and Ash is clearly flustered, and he's like what Ag.
- 14:00Speaker 1: He leans in and he's like, it's a really nice feeling.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Could you say it again? Ash like blutches some more
- 14:09Speaker 1: and he crosses his arms and he's like, yeah, right,
- 14:11Speaker 1: let's see it. I'm starving, and he starts to walk off.
- 14:14Speaker 1: AG follows him and he's like, come on, just one
- 14:17Speaker 1: more time, and Ash says, shut up, I love that
- 14:21Speaker 1: so much. You don't understand anyway. We go to a
- 14:24Speaker 1: shot of the Brooklyn Bridge. I guess that's what it
- 14:26Speaker 1: looks like to me, but really it could be any
- 14:28Speaker 1: bridge in New York. I don't know what they look
- 14:30Speaker 1: like as the sun sets behind it. And then we
- 14:34Speaker 1: cut to a table with sushi salad with avocado in
- 14:38Speaker 1: it and something fried on it, and we hear Ash
- 14:41Speaker 1: say you're with Alex the whole time we see that
- 14:44Speaker 1: they're eating at the kitchen table. AG says, yeah, that's right.
- 14:49Speaker 1: He eats some sort of fried thing, and Ash says
- 14:52Speaker 1: really oh. Ag is not looking at him because he
- 14:57Speaker 1: basically can't, and he says, yeah, I think I was
- 15:00Speaker 1: with Sing sometimes too. I guess you think, Ag you
- 15:04Speaker 1: don't remember. And Ash says, I'm amazed you got out
- 15:10Speaker 1: of jail. AG's just like yeah. Ash just drinks some
- 15:15Speaker 1: soda quietly, and AG says, you know, don't you stop
- 15:20Speaker 1: being so mean. He's blushing a little bit, and Ash says,
- 15:24Speaker 1: yue Lung wasn't it? Why didn't you just tell me?
- 15:28Speaker 1: And AG's like no reason. Ash kind of rests his
- 15:32Speaker 1: head in his hand, and he says, I'm relieved he
- 15:36Speaker 1: actually let you go. He looks kind of sad. I
- 15:39Speaker 1: don't understand what he's thinking, whether he's a friend or
- 15:43Speaker 1: a foe. AG thinks about uey Lung, saying I will
- 15:47Speaker 1: be Ash's enemy, and also, so you can't get your
- 15:50Speaker 1: hands bloody, even if it's for Ash. He looks super distressed.
- 15:54Speaker 1: He probably should just tell Ash the truth about what's happening,
- 15:58Speaker 1: because Ash probably needs to know, but he doesn't. But
- 16:04Speaker 1: Ash notices that he is going through something, and he
- 16:07Speaker 1: says what's wrong. Ag is kind of abruptly shaken out
- 16:11Speaker 1: of his memory and surprised, and he kind of doesn't
- 16:13Speaker 1: know what to say, so he just gets up and
- 16:15Speaker 1: he says, I'm going to get some drinks. Ash is
- 16:19Speaker 1: just totally confused. We get to Ag, who was looking
- 16:23Speaker 1: in the refrigerator, and he thinks, how is he planning
- 16:26Speaker 1: to confront Ash and closes the refrigerator door. I have
- 16:30Speaker 1: a bad feeling about this. Maybe you should tell him.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We go to Golzine, who is in his greenhouse, and
- 16:38Speaker 1: we hear Yuelung say brugmansia. I guess that's how you
- 16:42Speaker 1: pronounce it. Golesine looks over and Yuelung is standing by
- 16:46Speaker 1: this like tree looking plant with some like yellow like
- 16:49Speaker 1: hanging flowers, you know, like the kinds of look like
- 16:51Speaker 1: little bells or whatever. And yue Lung says, an alkaloid
- 16:55Speaker 1: hallucinatory plant that induces auditory hallucinations, acute and erratic behavior.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Remind you of anything. Dino just kind of stands there.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Uelon continues, yes, banana fish was made out of spontaneous
- 17:10Speaker 1: mutation of brigmancia. Dino's eyes narrow and he makes like
- 17:15Speaker 1: a really disconcerted sound, and Uelun continues, I've been educated
- 17:19Speaker 1: about drugs extensively since youth, you're sixteen, especially toxic materials.
- 17:25Speaker 1: He's like, touching the flowers and such. Poisoning is an
- 17:28Speaker 1: old tradition of ours. We've been doing it for four
- 17:31Speaker 1: thousand years. Yet nothing is born from history. The days
- 17:35Speaker 1: of nationalism and being controlled by one's blood ties are over.
- 17:39Speaker 1: We get a quick shot of some purple flowers. I
- 17:41Speaker 1: don't know why, and he continues, by the way about
- 17:45Speaker 1: the runaway ash in Professor Dawson. I have a proposal
- 17:48Speaker 1: that'll get them both to return to you. Dino's like, really,
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'd love to hear it. I don't want to know, honestly,
- 17:58Speaker 1: how about you don't give Dino ideas. So before we
- 18:02Speaker 1: go on, I just wanted to say that brute Manzia
- 18:05Speaker 1: or whatever is of course a real plant. It's also
- 18:09Speaker 1: known as Angel's trumpets. I looked it up and it
- 18:13Speaker 1: is among one of the most toxic ornamental plants I guess, ever,
- 18:18Speaker 1: and it contains tropain alkaloids, if I understand my own writing,
- 18:23Speaker 1: which is the same type of alkaloids that are also
- 18:27Speaker 1: responsible for the toxicity and delirient effects of gyms and
- 18:31Speaker 1: weed and deadly nightshade. So it's a real thing that
- 18:34Speaker 1: it has this alkaloid that's really really bad in it.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I guess, so now you know there's another banana fish thing.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Based on fact, I suppose, Hey, now we see a
- 18:46Speaker 1: ferry in the water. Obviously it's an orange ferry. It's large,
- 18:50Speaker 1: it has like multiple decks, and there are seagulls flying
- 18:52Speaker 1: next to it, because there are seagulls around water and stuff.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Ash and AG are on the ferry and they're standing
- 18:59Speaker 1: like at the rail looking out over the river, I suppose,
- 19:03Speaker 1: and Ash says, never been on a ferry. Age's like
- 19:07Speaker 1: only the circle line. Ash says, circle. AG's like, you
- 19:11Speaker 1: don't know you're a New Yorker. Hash is like, I'm
- 19:15Speaker 1: just a country bumpkin. Really, they're passing kind of a
- 19:18Speaker 1: lot of New York buildings and the skyline. And Ash continues,
- 19:23Speaker 1: You foreigners come to America and you think it's all
- 19:26Speaker 1: like New York and LA, but you're really wrong. There
- 19:29Speaker 1: are only a few real metropolises in this giant country.
- 19:32Speaker 1: The rest of it is just fast countryside. Lots of
- 19:35Speaker 1: people only ever see the ocean on TV. Tons of
- 19:38Speaker 1: guys die without ever leaving their hometown. Bye, yeah, totally.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Ag He's like hmm, and he thinks for a second
- 19:46Speaker 1: and says, sounds like something out of a Stephen King novel.
- 19:49Speaker 1: They're passing the Statue of Liberty at this point. Ag
- 19:52Speaker 1: continues endless cornfields, villages that hate outsiders, and Ash is like, yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: it's a tough place for outsiders. Oh, my mother was
- 20:02Speaker 1: an outsider, one of the city dwellers who'd come to
- 20:05Speaker 1: Cape Cod for the summer. I don't blame her for
- 20:09Speaker 1: running away, fuck, Agy says, I'm sure leaving you behind
- 20:13Speaker 1: was hard for her. Ash's like, you think so, and
- 20:18Speaker 1: she's like, yeah, remember what you told me once that
- 20:22Speaker 1: your mother gave you your real name Osla. What does
- 20:25Speaker 1: it mean? Ash says, it's an ancient Hebrew prayer word.
- 20:31Speaker 1: It means dawn because I was born with the sunrise.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Ag says, and your middle name with the j, Ash says, jade,
- 20:41Speaker 1: like the gemstone. This whole thing feels like it feels
- 20:45Speaker 1: like he's uncomfortable discussing this. Ag says, See, I told you,
- 20:53Speaker 1: your mother really put a lot of thought into your name,
- 20:55Speaker 1: hoping for happiness for a baby born with the sunrise.
- 20:59Speaker 1: She probably I wished your life would be just as
- 21:01Speaker 1: wonderful as a piece of jade sparkling in the dawn.
- 21:04Speaker 1: There's no way she didn't love you. Ash looks out
- 21:10Speaker 1: over the water and he just says, then why and
- 21:15Speaker 1: AG's like huh. Ash looks sad and he says nothing,
- 21:21Speaker 1: You're probably right, And then all of a sudden, he
- 21:23Speaker 1: kind of jolts up and starts to look around, and
- 21:26Speaker 1: AG's like, what's wrong? And Ash says, let's turn back.
- 21:29Speaker 1: AG's like, what about Long Islands? Ash says, I changed
- 21:34Speaker 1: my mind. We then see a bit of ways where
- 21:39Speaker 1: there are some legs standing in the shadow. They kind
- 21:41Speaker 1: of turn and walk off, and AG's like, geez, you
- 21:44Speaker 1: always change your mind. But before we go any further,
- 21:48Speaker 1: I need to point out that's that is not what
- 21:51Speaker 1: oslon means at all. But I want to talk about
- 21:55Speaker 1: that at the end because it's a big deal and
- 21:57Speaker 1: I had a bunch of thoughts about it. But yes,
- 22:00Speaker 1: it is important to acknowledge that Oslon does not mean
- 22:03Speaker 1: dawn and that it stresses me out. Also, this was
- 22:07Speaker 1: a pretty big departure from the way that ashe talked
- 22:10Speaker 1: about his mom previously, which in episode six he basically
- 22:14Speaker 1: called her a slut and that was like it so
- 22:18Speaker 1: to hear him like kind of empathizing with how I
- 22:21Speaker 1: guess she was ostracized and her inability to fit in
- 22:26Speaker 1: in Cape cod which you know, is something that he
- 22:29Speaker 1: also shared very much, so is really interesting. Anyway, we
- 22:35Speaker 1: cut to an exterior shot of like a white house,
- 22:38Speaker 1: not like the White House, but a house that is white,
- 22:41Speaker 1: kind of on an overgrown lot, kind of set back
- 22:44Speaker 1: from the street. There's trees and stuff. We don't see
- 22:46Speaker 1: another houses around it, and a voice says, good that
- 22:50Speaker 1: you made it. Here we see Shoonichi and I guess
- 22:52Speaker 1: George and Max and Alexis in a room. Alexis is
- 22:57Speaker 1: in a bed asleep, thank god. And George is kind
- 23:01Speaker 1: of like looking out the window through the blinds and
- 23:04Speaker 1: Max says, but it's not completely safe. What about a hospital,
- 23:08Speaker 1: George says, my boss is looking for one. Anyway, We're
- 23:12Speaker 1: doing a special feature next month. Just you weak, Goalsine,
- 23:15Speaker 1: just you wait, okay, hold on, I'm not even sure
- 23:17Speaker 1: this is George. This is this person who looks like George,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but they never say his name, but we know that
- 23:22Speaker 1: George's dad has a house on Long Island, so it's
- 23:25Speaker 1: probably George. But George doesn't work for a paper. He's
- 23:28Speaker 1: a lawyer. I'm so confused. I tried to figure out
- 23:32Speaker 1: in the mango who this was. But one of the
- 23:35Speaker 1: strengths and most confusing things about banana fish is that
- 23:38Speaker 1: we don't always get people's names, which is honestly I love,
- 23:43Speaker 1: because if you are really coming into a conversation with people,
- 23:46Speaker 1: you wouldn't get their name. Like I don't say my
- 23:49Speaker 1: friends and family's name constantly. And while you would do
- 23:54Speaker 1: that in Japan because it's very rude to just call
- 23:56Speaker 1: people you, it's not rude in the US. And I
- 24:00Speaker 1: do have friends who say my name a lot, but
- 24:04Speaker 1: I also have people, including myself, that just never say
- 24:07Speaker 1: anyone else's name, mostly because I don't remember them sometimes.
- 24:11Speaker 1: But it's not rude. It's pretty normal. So I kind
- 24:15Speaker 1: of like this, but also it is super confusing. So anyway,
- 24:20Speaker 1: let's continue, and I guess we're just gonna keep calling
- 24:23Speaker 1: this person George because he might be I don't know. Anyway.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Georgia just said, just you weak Goalsie, just you wait,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and Max says kipperd and Holstock too. Max's phone starts
- 24:33Speaker 1: to buzz and he takes it out of his pocket
- 24:35Speaker 1: and he picks it up and he says, Ash, there's
- 24:37Speaker 1: kind of a pause, and he's like, what, you're not coming.
- 24:40Speaker 1: We cut to Ash at Ag who are standing outside
- 24:43Speaker 1: of the public library, Ash's favorite place, and Ash says,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I can't say why, but something feels strange, like I'm
- 24:50Speaker 1: being watched. Max says be careful, and Ashes like, I'm
- 24:55Speaker 1: used to this. You're the one that needs to be careful,
- 24:57Speaker 1: and he hangs up, and Max thinks, already in a crisis. Huh.
- 25:03Speaker 1: We go into the library in the Rose reading room
- 25:06Speaker 1: and Ash is thinking maybe banana fish isn't purely chemical.
- 25:11Speaker 1: He is looking at a computer screen with like molecular
- 25:14Speaker 1: structures and stuff on it. I don't know that means,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and then he gasps and starts to look around again.
- 25:22Speaker 1: He exhales. Eg comes over with this stack of literally
- 25:27Speaker 1: twelve books, and he's like struggling to hold them, and
- 25:30Speaker 1: he says, you're not planning to read all these today,
- 25:33Speaker 1: are you? He kind of sets them down with a
- 25:36Speaker 1: pretty heavy thud onto the table and Ash is like,
- 25:39Speaker 1: I sure, am Ag says, are you kidding? It'll take
- 25:42Speaker 1: all night. Ash at this point just holds out some
- 25:45Speaker 1: money to him, and he's like, if you're bored, here
- 25:48Speaker 1: go buy yourself some manga. Eg scowls at him and
- 25:51Speaker 1: like grabs the money and he's like, fine, I will then,
- 25:54Speaker 1: and a hot dog too. There's actually probably manga in
- 25:58Speaker 1: the library, especially in the tens. Eg starts to walk off,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and Ash, who is kind of smiling, probably having a
- 26:05Speaker 1: nice time mess and with Ag, says one for me too,
- 26:08Speaker 1: with lots of mustard. Big bro Ag turns back and
- 26:11Speaker 1: sticks out his tongue and Ash and then continues to
- 26:13Speaker 1: walk away. Ash looks a little stunned, but then he
- 26:15Speaker 1: gets back into his something is wrong and he's looking
- 26:19Speaker 1: around again. We cut to the hall of the library,
- 26:23Speaker 1: I guess where Ash runs like catches up to Ag
- 26:26Speaker 1: and he's like putting on his coat and he's still
- 26:28Speaker 1: looking around, and he says, hey, I'm coming with you.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Then the next thing we see is Ash and Ag
- 26:32Speaker 1: eating hot dogs on the step outside, and Ag is
- 26:35Speaker 1: holding his nose and wincing and he's tears in his
- 26:38Speaker 1: eyes and Ashes like what and Ag says the mustard
- 26:41Speaker 1: is really strong. Ash is like, oh, you poor baby.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Ash takes a bite of the hot dog and he
- 26:46Speaker 1: starts looking around again, while Eg is distracted with being
- 26:49Speaker 1: in pain because of the mustard, and he thinks something's
- 26:53Speaker 1: not right. Who's out there? Yeah, someone apparently. We cut
- 26:58Speaker 1: to yue Lung, who is sitting chair, and we hear
- 27:01Speaker 1: Wanglong say, explain yourself. I summoned you and you ignored me.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Never mind, I've got questions for you. I heard Golzin
- 27:09Speaker 1: came to your mansion not long ago. Wang Long walks
- 27:11Speaker 1: over to you along, stands right next to him and says,
- 27:14Speaker 1: what was he there for. Yueilung, not looking at him, says,
- 27:18Speaker 1: I just invited him to lunch. Wang Mung's like I see.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Then he grabs U a Lung by the ponytail and
- 27:26Speaker 1: he like pulls up his head towards him and he's like,
- 27:28Speaker 1: don't lie to me. You resent us forgetting We let
- 27:31Speaker 1: you live. Yuei Lung looks pretty upset, obviously his ponytail's
- 27:36Speaker 1: being pulled, and he says, then kill me, just like
- 27:38Speaker 1: you killed my mother. Honestly, it sounds like he actually
- 27:42Speaker 1: means it, and Wang Long is just like I knew it.
- 27:46Speaker 1: He grabs U Along by the neck and he says,
- 27:49Speaker 1: what are you conspiring? Speak I don't know how he
- 27:52Speaker 1: would speak with his throat being strangled anyway. The door
- 27:55Speaker 1: opens and three guys rush in all of a sudden,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and Wang Lung like backs away and he's like, who
- 28:00Speaker 1: are you? Yue Lung stands and he says, you should
- 28:03Speaker 1: have killed me when you killed my mother. Like an animal,
- 28:06Speaker 1: he walks towards Wanglong as Wang Lung backs away. I
- 28:09Speaker 1: will destroy you all and obliterate the leaves from this planet,
- 28:14Speaker 1: every last one. Wang Lung's like, as if you could,
- 28:18Speaker 1: what can you do anyway? You're nothing but a failure.
- 28:21Speaker 1: He looks really stressed though, like he doesn't believe us.
- 28:24Speaker 1: You have lee blood in you too, the blood of
- 28:27Speaker 1: our father, that monster. And we cut to yue Lung
- 28:30Speaker 1: and his vengeful expression as it is suddenly lit by gunshots.
- 28:36Speaker 1: We fade black. When we fade back in, it's Didino
- 28:40Speaker 1: who is at his desk on the phone, and he says,
- 28:44Speaker 1: are you satisfied with my work? We hear Yuelung say yeah.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Dino says I had to repay you for the good
- 28:51Speaker 1: work with Falcon. By the way, I found the perfect
- 28:54Speaker 1: person for the plan you proposed. Yue Lung says, good
- 29:00Speaker 1: and then the phone clicks on Golzeane's end. Yuei Lung
- 29:03Speaker 1: puts down his phone and he sighs and leans back
- 29:07Speaker 1: in his chair and puts his hand on his head.
- 29:09Speaker 1: He just looks incredibly exhausted. At this point, we get
- 29:13Speaker 1: a wider shot and we see that this is the
- 29:15Speaker 1: same room that Wanglong was killed in, and we know
- 29:18Speaker 1: this because Wanglong is slumped against the fireplace in a
- 29:21Speaker 1: pool of his own blood just a few feet from
- 29:24Speaker 1: yue Lung. Wow. We then cut to a close up
- 29:27Speaker 1: shot of an omelet with maybe like some ketchup on
- 29:30Speaker 1: it or something, and a voice says the victim was
- 29:34Speaker 1: Lee Wang Lung, the president of a Hua Yongbank. Then
- 29:38Speaker 1: we see a knife cutting into the omelet, and we
- 29:41Speaker 1: pull back enough to see that it is our friend
- 29:43Speaker 1: Kipper that I hate so much, eating breakfast on a
- 29:46Speaker 1: large porch, watching the news on a TV that is
- 29:50Speaker 1: also outside with him, which is weird. Judging by the flora,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I believe that this is his ranch in Florida, which
- 30:00Speaker 1: we basically don't know about in the anime, but whatever. Also,
- 30:04Speaker 1: there's a pool. He is lucky. He into a phone
- 30:07Speaker 1: says it's me kipperd. You must already be aware about
- 30:11Speaker 1: the consecutive deaths of the foundation board members. Yay, can
- 30:15Speaker 1: we meet sometime soon? And then we see that like
- 30:18Speaker 1: he is, you know, talking to a phone, but his
- 30:20Speaker 1: butler is holding it to his ear. I guess so
- 30:22Speaker 1: he can continue to eat or something. It's pretty fucked
- 30:25Speaker 1: up anyway. He says, that's right, there's no use for him. Now.
- 30:29Speaker 1: We got to Ash, who was sitting in a bar
- 30:31Speaker 1: drinking a beer with the news on TV in the background,
- 30:35Speaker 1: and our reporter says, the next likely to be the
- 30:38Speaker 1: CEO of the bank is Lie Hua Lung, Wang Lung's brother.
- 30:43Speaker 1: We see Huanlong, looking super dead as usual, walking with
- 30:47Speaker 1: reporters with Mike's in his face on both sides of him.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yuei Lung is walking next to him, and on the
- 30:54Speaker 1: screen it says Lee Wang Lung, head of China's Hua
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yang Bank, dead group responsible still unidentified, and the reporter says,
- 31:04Speaker 1: huey Long their youngest brother is his counselor. Alex, who
- 31:08Speaker 1: I didn't know was there, walks over to Ash and says,
- 31:11Speaker 1: you've got visitors. We go to a storage area I
- 31:14Speaker 1: guess with Ash, probably George and Max. Ash hands, not
- 31:21Speaker 1: George a Manila envelope and says, I speculated the pharmological
- 31:26Speaker 1: identity of banana fish. Well not George opens it and
- 31:29Speaker 1: looks at the papers. Ash says, ask a mental pharmological
- 31:33Speaker 1: expert what they think. And George says, you did this yourself,
- 31:39Speaker 1: and Ash is like, it's not a pure chemical synthesis.
- 31:43Speaker 1: For example, there's a cactus called peyote in South America
- 31:46Speaker 1: that a hallucinatory compound can be extracted from. I'm guessing
- 31:50Speaker 1: that banana fish was made from an alkaloid plant, kind
- 31:53Speaker 1: of like that. And George is like, I'm pretty amazed,
- 31:56Speaker 1: Actually me too, and Ash is like, it's just a
- 31:59Speaker 1: theory house Professor Dawson. Max says, the doctor said the
- 32:04Speaker 1: neural pathway in his brain has been damaged, but it's
- 32:06Speaker 1: hard to prove it was caused by drugs. If we
- 32:09Speaker 1: can prove that, we would really have something, Ashes like
- 32:12Speaker 1: proving a causal relationship. Huh. Max says, damn it. I
- 32:17Speaker 1: wish we could put the screws to KIPPERD or whole
- 32:19Speaker 1: stock and that's just like I'll do it. Max says,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you and Ashes like KIPPERD was a regular at the
- 32:26Speaker 1: Old Man's Restaurant. People like that never change. Everybody's getting
- 32:31Speaker 1: ready to leave and not George exits their storage room first,
- 32:36Speaker 1: or like a hallway or wherever they are, and Max
- 32:40Speaker 1: is heading up the stairs and he turns back to
- 32:42Speaker 1: Ash and he's like, oh, right, you said you're being watched.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Ash just like, yeah, I can't figure out who it is.
- 32:48Speaker 1: It's creepy. I've always lived on instinct alone, always had
- 32:52Speaker 1: complete faith in it. This has never happened before. Max says,
- 32:57Speaker 1: I've never seen you lose heart like this before. Ash
- 33:00Speaker 1: looks kind of annoyed and he just sighs. We see
- 33:04Speaker 1: Ash walking up the steps out of the bar. I
- 33:06Speaker 1: guess it's kind of a basement bar like some of
- 33:08Speaker 1: the other ones were that we saw earlier, but it
- 33:11Speaker 1: looks like it's a decent area, maybe over by their
- 33:15Speaker 1: new apartments. And he just kind of stops. It kind
- 33:18Speaker 1: of looks like he's lost in thought, trying to figure
- 33:20Speaker 1: out what his next move is, and then we see
- 33:23Speaker 1: legs around a corner start to move away. Oh. Ash's
- 33:28Speaker 1: eyes suddenly widen. Any gasps and he starts to run
- 33:30Speaker 1: and he gets to like clear some street kids out
- 33:32Speaker 1: of the way to get through, and he goes around
- 33:35Speaker 1: a corner and then he stops and he's like looking around,
- 33:38Speaker 1: but it's just totally deserted, and he says, well, he yells,
- 33:44Speaker 1: who the hell are you show yourself? Damn it. We
- 33:49Speaker 1: see around the corner, actually the corner he just came around.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I think a person. We see more of their body,
- 33:57Speaker 1: but we don't see like their eyes. We just kind
- 33:59Speaker 1: of see the bottom of their face. And they have
- 34:01Speaker 1: like black, longish hair, and they're wearing a brown trench
- 34:04Speaker 1: coat and they start to walk in the opposite direction again.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Ash is trying to catch his breath and collect himself
- 34:11Speaker 1: as we hear AG say hey. Ash looks over and
- 34:16Speaker 1: AG's like Ash. Ash is sweating, and he's like, what
- 34:20Speaker 1: I told you not to wander around by yourself. AG's like, what,
- 34:25Speaker 1: why are you so irritated? I'm not alone. We just
- 34:28Speaker 1: came to buy some donuts. We see that across the
- 34:31Speaker 1: street is Bones and Kongs at this window donut shop,
- 34:34Speaker 1: I guess, and he continues, you said to meet you
- 34:38Speaker 1: at three, Remember, Ash getting himself under control, kind of
- 34:42Speaker 1: looking down and really concerned, just says, oh, yeah, I
- 34:46Speaker 1: forgot AG he's like, geeze. Ash doesn't say anything back,
- 34:52Speaker 1: and Ag just kind of stares at him for a
- 34:54Speaker 1: couple of seconds, and then he's like, what's wrong, Ash,
- 34:57Speaker 1: Are you not feeling well? Ash says, no, let's go.
- 35:01Speaker 1: He puts his arm around Ag and starts to lead
- 35:04Speaker 1: him away, which is super cute, and he says, sorry
- 35:07Speaker 1: for yelling at you. Huh. We go to Dino, who
- 35:11Speaker 1: was looking out a large window, like we are seeing
- 35:13Speaker 1: him through the window as he's looking out of it,
- 35:16Speaker 1: and the guy in the brown trench coat walks up
- 35:20Speaker 1: to him. Fuck not that we didn't know that was connected,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and Dino says, it's been four years. Blanca, okay, Blanca
- 35:29Speaker 1: removes his hat. He was wearing a brown hat, I guess,
- 35:33Speaker 1: and we see that he has I guess, dark brown
- 35:35Speaker 1: actually hair in a ponytail, and brown eyes, and he's
- 35:39Speaker 1: wearing glasses and he's very very tall, like I think
- 35:43Speaker 1: he's the tallest character in the show. And he's also,
- 35:46Speaker 1: you know, very attractive. He looks older, and I don't
- 35:49Speaker 1: mean a lot older, like maybe he's in his thirties
- 35:52Speaker 1: or his forties, but much more attractive than we've seen
- 35:56Speaker 1: older dudes in the show. Look, I guess I don't
- 35:59Speaker 1: know why you needed to know that anyway, He says, yes,
- 36:03Speaker 1: it's been a while machere. Dino says, nice, Tan, I
- 36:07Speaker 1: see the Caribbean's been treating you well. So the rumors
- 36:10Speaker 1: of your retirement are true. Huh, Blanc Is like, I've
- 36:14Speaker 1: been enjoying the pleasures of being a hermit buried in
- 36:17Speaker 1: a pile of books. Same Dino says, then why did
- 36:22Speaker 1: you come? Blanc Is like to decline your offer, And
- 36:26Speaker 1: because your request took me by surprise, I wanted to
- 36:28Speaker 1: see for myself. Dino's like, and did you see him?
- 36:33Speaker 1: Blanca says, time is an ironic thing. For us it
- 36:37Speaker 1: means we age, but for boys like him, it means
- 36:39Speaker 1: growing up. He sensed I was near and his hair
- 36:42Speaker 1: stood on end. Dino says, so what do you say?
- 36:47Speaker 1: Blanc Is like, I'm curious about how much he's capable of.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Now I accept, Wait, what do you accept? What do
- 36:55Speaker 1: you mean? Now? Who are you? We now see Ashy
- 37:00Speaker 1: his bare legs and feet standing on like a dress shirt,
- 37:04Speaker 1: and we hear a blow dryer, I kinda cut back
- 37:07Speaker 1: and he is just wearing a dress shirt like no
- 37:09Speaker 1: pants and a tie, and he is blow drying his hair, obviously,
- 37:13Speaker 1: and he's in like their bedroom. There's various items of
- 37:16Speaker 1: clothing strewn across the floor in the bed. Ag opens
- 37:20Speaker 1: the door and he is looking down at his phone
- 37:24Speaker 1: and he says, Hey, this news. He looks up and
- 37:26Speaker 1: he's like, uh, what are you doing. Ash kind of
- 37:30Speaker 1: has his hair in his face in a way that
- 37:32Speaker 1: we actually haven't seen him look in the anime but
- 37:35Speaker 1: having the manga. And he turns to Ag and says,
- 37:39Speaker 1: do I look fifteen? He's kind of like messing with
- 37:42Speaker 1: his hair. AG's like walking over and he laughs and
- 37:45Speaker 1: he says, yeah, you really do. What are you trying
- 37:47Speaker 1: to get into a museum for half price or something? Ash,
- 37:50Speaker 1: who was still fixing his hair, smirks slightly and he
- 37:53Speaker 1: says prostituting. Ag is like huh and he just and
- 38:00Speaker 1: he's like, I actually don't understand that joke. Ash just
- 38:04Speaker 1: like it's not a joke. I'm going out as a callboy.
- 38:07Speaker 1: What about the news? Ag says, oh, yeah, and he
- 38:11Speaker 1: shows him his phone and we see that it's open
- 38:13Speaker 1: to an article from the New York Herald with the
- 38:16Speaker 1: headline the Mystery of Chinatown authority. Stumped by the recent
- 38:21Speaker 1: deaths of high ranking members of the Lee family, AG says,
- 38:25Speaker 1: what do you think. Ash is tying his tie and
- 38:28Speaker 1: he says about what, and AG's like, I didn't tell you,
- 38:33Speaker 1: but Yuey Lung told me before. He said he's gonna
- 38:36Speaker 1: be your enemy. Yeah, he said it. He kind of
- 38:40Speaker 1: looks away because he's embarrassed to have hidden that from him,
- 38:43Speaker 1: and Ash says, why didn't you tell me before? And
- 38:47Speaker 1: AG's like, well, because and he thinks of you a
- 38:50Speaker 1: lung saying I will continue to come after you as
- 38:53Speaker 1: long as you're his only weak spot. I was pointing.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Ash is putting on his pants and AG continues, I
- 38:59Speaker 1: don't know, but he was full of malice. He's dangerous.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I have a really bad feeling about him. Ash stares
- 39:05Speaker 1: at the very sad, kind of ashamed looking AG for
- 39:08Speaker 1: a minute, and he says, don't worry if he comes
- 39:11Speaker 1: from me, he comes from me. He puts on kind
- 39:13Speaker 1: of like a suit jacket and he starts to walk
- 39:15Speaker 1: towards the door, and AG says, where are you going?
- 39:19Speaker 1: And Ash is like, I told you. It turns back,
- 39:22Speaker 1: I'm going prostituting, and he like winks at Ag, and
- 39:26Speaker 1: Ag just like stares at him like super wide eyed,
- 39:30Speaker 1: and Ash says, don't go outside alone, and we hear
- 39:33Speaker 1: the door close, leaving Ag alone in the room completely dumbfounded.
- 39:40Speaker 1: You know, Ag, you could have just asked him. He
- 39:42Speaker 1: wouldn't told you anyway. We then cut to what I
- 39:47Speaker 1: thought was a hotel, but I'm pretty sure it's actually
- 39:49Speaker 1: apartments because I learned that in the manga, the exterior
- 39:53Speaker 1: of one. And it's night of course, because that's when
- 39:55Speaker 1: you go out waring, not in the daytime usually. And
- 40:00Speaker 1: we hear a doorbell ring and the door opens like partially,
- 40:06Speaker 1: and we see half of Kifford's face on the other side. Yeah,
- 40:10Speaker 1: here we go, and Kipferd says, you're not Peter, No,
- 40:15Speaker 1: he's not. Ash is standing on the other side of
- 40:18Speaker 1: the door with his hair and his face glasses on
- 40:21Speaker 1: and like trying to look innocent. She's actually not doing
- 40:25Speaker 1: a bad job of He says, he's sick. They sent
- 40:28Speaker 1: me in his place, don't you like me? He looks
- 40:32Speaker 1: so like possibly dejected at the idea that Kipferd might
- 40:36Speaker 1: numbling him. Kifferd stares at him for a second, and
- 40:40Speaker 1: then we cut to an interior of the room with
- 40:45Speaker 1: some clothing items like strewn out across the floor, mostly
- 40:48Speaker 1: just jackets and shoes because they're still partially closed, and
- 40:53Speaker 1: we hear like the bed creaking and like breathing, like
- 40:57Speaker 1: heavy breathing as we pan over to the bed. Yay,
- 41:00Speaker 1: I guess, yeah, So Kipberd is on top of Ash
- 41:05Speaker 1: in the bed, as is the fashion, and he's breathing
- 41:09Speaker 1: pretty hard, and I guess they're like kissing or something.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I don't really know what's happening because they're not showing us,
- 41:14Speaker 1: which is fine, and then Ash says, you still like blondes? Huh.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Kipberd like immediately stops what he's doing and pulls away
- 41:22Speaker 1: I guess from their embrace, and Ash moves his hair
- 41:27Speaker 1: away from his face and says, you forgot my face.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I'm so sad. Keippard's like you and he gasps as
- 41:36Speaker 1: he feels Ash's gun poke into his stomach and Ash says,
- 41:42Speaker 1: move already, you're heavy. At this point, the credits start
- 41:45Speaker 1: to appear on the screen and we cut to Kipberd
- 41:48Speaker 1: off of Ash yay, and Ash says, I have to
- 41:52Speaker 1: thank you. He's getting up off the bed. Thanks to
- 41:55Speaker 1: my death, the cops aren't after me anymore. Kipbird is
- 41:59Speaker 1: backing away towards the window and he says, what do
- 42:02Speaker 1: you want money? Ash says banana fish. Kimbird flinches and
- 42:07Speaker 1: he starts to sweat, and he's like, I don't know
- 42:09Speaker 1: what you mean. This point, the ending theme starts up
- 42:11Speaker 1: in the background. Ash says, save its you, golzen hoolestock
- 42:16Speaker 1: and smiles. Who's protecting all of you? Kipperd gasps because
- 42:20Speaker 1: I guess he didn't know that. Ash knew that whatever,
- 42:23Speaker 1: and Ashes like, answer me. Remember, Ash is still holding
- 42:27Speaker 1: the gun towards Kippard. Kipper says, I'm not going to
- 42:30Speaker 1: betray anyone. Go ahead and kill me, do it. Ash
- 42:34Speaker 1: is like such cheap patriotism. He takes out his phone
- 42:38Speaker 1: and he says, but how about this, and he holds
- 42:41Speaker 1: it up to Kipferd and we see a blurred out
- 42:43Speaker 1: image that has blurred out on the blu ray Tuo
- 42:45Speaker 1: by the way, but it is absolutely definitely Kippered engaging
- 42:49Speaker 1: in a sex act with a minor. Yeah, Kipper looks terrified,
- 42:53Speaker 1: me too, Kipperd, that's horrifying, and he says where did you?
- 42:59Speaker 1: And just like this is how Dino works, all his
- 43:02Speaker 1: customers are photographed. He starts to walk towards Kippard and
- 43:07Speaker 1: Kippard is still backing up towards the window. He is
- 43:10Speaker 1: nowhere to run. Ash continues, or were you too aroused
- 43:16Speaker 1: to notice? Geez? Now answer my question. Kipper looks down
- 43:21Speaker 1: and he says it's and then oh my god, he
- 43:24Speaker 1: just gets shot in the head. Like I think I
- 43:28Speaker 1: clipped there, but he was shot in the head. He
- 43:31Speaker 1: doesn't get to finish his sentence, and Ash watches in
- 43:34Speaker 1: horror as he collapses in slow motion and blood is
- 43:37Speaker 1: like splattered everywhere, and Ash grabs the lamp I guess
- 43:42Speaker 1: off the desk and he disconnects it from the wall.
- 43:44Speaker 1: In the room goes dark. We see Blanca aiming a
- 43:49Speaker 1: pretty large gun with like sights on its out of
- 43:52Speaker 1: a window and he says, good response. He still follows
- 43:56Speaker 1: what I taught him. You taught him things back to Kippard,
- 44:00Speaker 1: who is very very much dead on the floor, and
- 44:03Speaker 1: Ash is kind of against the wall, kind of behind
- 44:07Speaker 1: a dresser, you know, like on the side of the dresser,
- 44:09Speaker 1: so he's not exposed to the window. He's holding his
- 44:12Speaker 1: gun and he's just hyperventilating and thinking, calm down, calm down.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Will he shoot again? No? He looks over at the
- 44:23Speaker 1: gun shotthle in the window and thinks that angle, which
- 44:27Speaker 1: means that building impossible. It's too far. If that's really
- 44:32Speaker 1: where he shot from, He's no ordinary assassin. We cut
- 44:36Speaker 1: back to Blanca, who is walking down the street with
- 44:39Speaker 1: his gun in a case over his shoulder. His footsteps
- 44:42Speaker 1: echo as we fade out and go to the title
- 44:44Speaker 1: card The Killers. Yay, and that's it. Okay, closing thoughts.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I got a lot of stuff to say here. I
- 44:53Speaker 1: don't even know what direction I should go in first,
- 44:57Speaker 1: but yay. First of all, Kipferd is dead, which is
- 45:00Speaker 1: pretty good because he's a piece of shit. But I
- 45:04Speaker 1: am a little sad that Ash didn't get to do
- 45:06Speaker 1: it and that they didn't learn anything from Kipperd before
- 45:09Speaker 1: he was murdered by Blanca, who has some connection to Ash, obviously,
- 45:15Speaker 1: but we don't know what it is. Well, we kind
- 45:17Speaker 1: of know that he's taught him things. Huh. So there's
- 45:21Speaker 1: so much, so much, So let me start with this
- 45:26Speaker 1: last scene, because I actually really like the dialogue between
- 45:31Speaker 1: Kippard and Ash, but it's cut out of the anime,
- 45:35Speaker 1: maybe because it is just frozen upsetting or something. But
- 45:40Speaker 1: it is really important to me because this is kind
- 45:43Speaker 1: of our first clap back where Ash says something, actually
- 45:47Speaker 1: says something with the people who have abused him instead
- 45:51Speaker 1: of just cooperating. And you know, it's not the last
- 45:57Speaker 1: time he's going to monologue kind of like this, but
- 46:01Speaker 1: it is the first time, and I hate losing it.
- 46:04Speaker 1: So I'm going to do something that I'm going to
- 46:06Speaker 1: regret doing immediately, which is I am going to read
- 46:09Speaker 1: you this section of the manga. I waited to the
- 46:12Speaker 1: end to do this, not because just the scene is
- 46:14Speaker 1: at the end, but because you can just leave if
- 46:16Speaker 1: you don't want to hear it, just leave. That's it.
- 46:20Speaker 1: See ya bye. I guess, but let me find it
- 46:23Speaker 1: for you and we will go through it real quick
- 46:25Speaker 1: because I want to talk about it, alrighty. So we'll
- 46:28Speaker 1: start with Ash asking Kiberd to get off of him.
- 46:33Speaker 1: So he says, because I just told you get off
- 46:36Speaker 1: of me, will you you weigh a ton? How about
- 46:38Speaker 1: going on a diet. You haven't lost a pound since
- 46:40Speaker 1: four years ago. In fact, i'd say you put on
- 46:43Speaker 1: ten and Kibberd says, so you're still and Nash just like, no,
- 46:49Speaker 1: I hear him dead. You were behind that news, weren't you.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Well you did me a big favorite because the cops
- 46:55Speaker 1: aren't after me anymore. So hey, thanks, I appreciate it
- 46:59Speaker 1: now and Kipperd says, what do you want money? Ash
- 47:04Speaker 1: is like, some people never change. Still getting your kicks
- 47:07Speaker 1: every Wednesday night in the same apartment you rent under
- 47:10Speaker 1: the name James Abbott, Still getting champagne and caviar delivered
- 47:14Speaker 1: to your door, and still asking escort services to send
- 47:17Speaker 1: you pretty blonde boys. Ash is at this point looking
- 47:21Speaker 1: at the bottle of champagne. He's holding it, and he says,
- 47:26Speaker 1: what was it. You always said, no such thing as
- 47:28Speaker 1: a smart blonde. They're all dumb, And then your wife
- 47:31Speaker 1: and son both turned out to be blondes. That was
- 47:33Speaker 1: pretty funny, And Kipperd's like, just tell me what the
- 47:36Speaker 1: hell you want. Ash is opening the bottle of champagne now,
- 47:41Speaker 1: and he says, what's the hurry. The Dom Perignon's nicely chilled.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I think I'll have a glass. He starts to pour
- 47:48Speaker 1: the champagne into a glass, obviously, and continues, you always
- 47:52Speaker 1: started right away, never let me have so much as
- 47:55Speaker 1: a sip of the stuff, and then the moment you
- 47:57Speaker 1: were done, you'd pack me off without even letting me
- 47:59Speaker 1: take a shower. Jesus well, I sure would have liked
- 48:03Speaker 1: to have been offered some of this bubbly. I'd always think, Man,
- 48:07Speaker 1: not only is this guy a fat bastard, but he's
- 48:09Speaker 1: a cheap bastard too. Or maybe you just thought your
- 48:12Speaker 1: own fizzy juice was enough. Tongue that does blowjob, wouldn't
- 48:16Speaker 1: appreciate the taste of champagne. Is that it? He takes
- 48:19Speaker 1: a sep. Hmmm, this is good, my first dom Perignon
- 48:22Speaker 1: in four years. You want some? He holds it out
- 48:26Speaker 1: to Kipbard and then says, oh, and don't think of
- 48:30Speaker 1: trying anything tricky. No one in their right mind would
- 48:32Speaker 1: take me for an intruder. You wouldn't want to be
- 48:35Speaker 1: caught with a young newbile boy, would you. I think
- 48:38Speaker 1: he takes another seb. The fund's just about to begin.
- 48:42Speaker 1: I was gonna stop here because we cut to Blanca
- 48:45Speaker 1: looking at him through the window, But I'm just gonna
- 48:47Speaker 1: keep going because it's still a little bit different, all right.
- 48:50Speaker 1: He sets the glass of champagne down on the table
- 48:54Speaker 1: and he says, you know a substance called banana fish.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Kipbard obviously is super distressed at this, and he starts sweating,
- 49:01Speaker 1: and ashe says, of course you do. You're one of
- 49:04Speaker 1: its sponsors. Kippert says, what do you mean? I don't
- 49:07Speaker 1: know what you're talking about. Ash is sitting in a
- 49:10Speaker 1: chair now, and Kipper's sitting on the bed by the way,
- 49:12Speaker 1: and Ash says, Senator Kipper, just save me the lousey
- 49:15Speaker 1: play acting, all right? I was Dino Goldzine's sex toy.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I had lots of opportunities to listen and learn, and
- 49:22Speaker 1: I chose to take them. Dumb blonde though I was god, Ash,
- 49:27Speaker 1: you and Golzeene and Army Colonel Thomas Holstock and the
- 49:30Speaker 1: White House Chief of Staff Arthur smiles. Who's protecting you, guys?
- 49:36Speaker 1: Kipper is sweating. Ash continues, who's letting you do this?
- 49:40Speaker 1: I want an answer now. Golsen is just like you,
- 49:43Speaker 1: goddamn little punk. You tell me who put you up
- 49:46Speaker 1: to this. It's unthinkable that a two bit little horre
- 49:49Speaker 1: like you could have figured it out. It's golden, isn't it.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Golsieane sent you here, didn't he? I mean, of course not.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Ash doesn't say anything, but he is not pleased with this.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Actually it says, you're asking for it, like out of
- 50:05Speaker 1: the bubble, like you know. Anyway, Kippert continues to rant, Well,
- 50:09Speaker 1: if you think I'm gonna betray my country for a
- 50:11Speaker 1: little asshole like you, you're sadly mistaken. If you want
- 50:14Speaker 1: to kill me, go right ahead. But I refuse to
- 50:16Speaker 1: be threatened by the likes of you. Ash says, Look,
- 50:20Speaker 1: who's the big patriot. All of a sudden, you'd rather
- 50:24Speaker 1: die than betray your country. Well, of course this was
- 50:29Speaker 1: all for your country. Using this crazy unknown drug to
- 50:33Speaker 1: bring down our neighbors south of the Rio Grande was
- 50:36Speaker 1: all for the USA, And that's why someone very important
- 50:40Speaker 1: is willing to look the other way. But I wonder
- 50:42Speaker 1: what they'd say to this. Ash takes out an envelope.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Kipperd looks shocked and scared, and Ash says, this is
- 50:52Speaker 1: a bunch of photos showing you molesting young boys. Kipperd
- 50:55Speaker 1: says what Ash continues, this is the evidence of your
- 51:01Speaker 1: intimate ties, the Dino Gold scene. Ties you won't find
- 51:04Speaker 1: easy to break. Oh yes, that old bastard keeps his
- 51:07Speaker 1: ass covered. Every time someone used the VIP room in
- 51:11Speaker 1: his club, a camera was going click, click click. Were
- 51:14Speaker 1: you too excited to notice? Maybe? Oh yeah, Kipper looks
- 51:18Speaker 1: pretty stressed. Ash continues, A sex scandal is the kiss
- 51:23Speaker 1: of death for a politician. But you don't need me
- 51:26Speaker 1: to tell you that, do you? If it got out
- 51:28Speaker 1: that raging Will Kipper, the US Senate's number one hawk,
- 51:31Speaker 1: has a thing for banging teenage boys. Well, I hate
- 51:34Speaker 1: to think, but that'll do to all those Republican grandmas
- 51:37Speaker 1: who admire you so much. Kipper makes an erg sound.
- 51:42Speaker 1: At this point, he has backed himself against the window,
- 51:45Speaker 1: and Ash says, so did that get you in the
- 51:48Speaker 1: mood to talk? Who's the weight behind the project? Kipper
- 51:52Speaker 1: just is standing there, sweating, and he finally says, well,
- 51:55Speaker 1: all right, and then he gets killed. That's it. Sorry, guys,
- 52:00Speaker 1: that's fun, I guess, unless you thought that was terrible.
- 52:02Speaker 1: But anyway, what I wanted to say is fuck, yeah, fuck,
- 52:07Speaker 1: that's what I want. I want him to be able
- 52:09Speaker 1: to take back control. And like I was saying, way, way, way,
- 52:14Speaker 1: thousands of episodes now back about how Ash isn't telling
- 52:19Speaker 1: his own story and everyone else is kind of telling
- 52:21Speaker 1: it for him. And I mean that did change in
- 52:23Speaker 1: the second half absolutely, or you know, after about episode
- 52:28Speaker 1: eleven when he starts telling ag about things and he
- 52:30Speaker 1: starts telling Max. But I loved having him just say
- 52:35Speaker 1: it to the person's face who was responsible for a
- 52:38Speaker 1: lot of it. It's so fucking cool and I am
- 52:41Speaker 1: so fucking jazzed that those were Senator Kipperd's last moments,
- 52:45Speaker 1: having to listen to the young, underaged prostitute that he
- 52:51Speaker 1: was having sex with tell him what a shitty person
- 52:53Speaker 1: he is. I love that. Yeah, so that's that. Oh. Also,
- 52:58Speaker 1: what I wanted to say more is we had just
- 53:00Speaker 1: had Kipperd saying like, it's a shame that that dude
- 53:03Speaker 1: got that mind because he's just a whore basically. So
- 53:07Speaker 1: I just loved turning this around. I thought it was great. Anyway,
- 53:12Speaker 1: now that I'm done praising that scene, I want to
- 53:15Speaker 1: talk about a couple other things. I know this is
- 53:17Speaker 1: probably running long by now, but who cares. I don't care.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Do you care? You probably care, and you want to
- 53:23Speaker 1: go be with your family or whatever or cry in
- 53:26Speaker 1: a corner, but keeping you here just for a little
- 53:28Speaker 1: bit longer. You can always turn this off whenever you
- 53:30Speaker 1: feel like it, You know that, right Anyway, The other
- 53:33Speaker 1: thing I really wanted to talk about was well, before
- 53:36Speaker 1: it gets to that, actually, I really like that, even
- 53:38Speaker 1: though ag was lying to ask about things about yue
- 53:42Speaker 1: Lung and all of that, that it just didn't really
- 53:44Speaker 1: work for very long, and that the consequences ended up
- 53:47Speaker 1: being relatively minor and it was resolved really easily. Despite
- 53:51Speaker 1: looking like it could be this big, long, drawn out
- 53:53Speaker 1: thing where Ash doesn't know that ue Lung is coming
- 53:55Speaker 1: for him and all that stuff, it just kind of
- 53:57Speaker 1: fizzles out, which I think is good because they have
- 53:59Speaker 1: a really good relationship and that's kind of what I
- 54:01Speaker 1: want to see. And I also think it's interesting that
- 54:04Speaker 1: Age didn't tell Ash about how yuey Lung feels like
- 54:08Speaker 1: he's Ash's weak spot, because obviously he doesn't want Ash
- 54:12Speaker 1: to know that because he loves Ash and he wants
- 54:15Speaker 1: to stay with him. But the truth is Ash already
- 54:17Speaker 1: knows that, He's already been told that by other people,
- 54:20Speaker 1: So they both are making a conscious effort to put
- 54:25Speaker 1: themselves in this spot despite knowing that it might not
- 54:28Speaker 1: be the safest thing, and I think that that's pretty
- 54:31Speaker 1: cool too, and to just go against all this bullshit
- 54:36Speaker 1: that is, you know, people are telling them about the
- 54:39Speaker 1: safety of their relationship. Yes. Oh. Also the dude Peter
- 54:45Speaker 1: who was the other callboy that was supposed to show
- 54:50Speaker 1: up to Kipperd's place, he was knocked unconscious by Ash,
- 54:55Speaker 1: and I really wish he wasn't. I wish Ash just
- 54:58Speaker 1: like gave him like one hundred bucks and was like,
- 54:59Speaker 1: I don't know, go to an arcade, what are those costs?
- 55:02Speaker 1: But he didn't. So now you know, that kind of sucks.
- 55:05Speaker 1: But that's what it is, all right. So the last
- 55:09Speaker 1: really big thing I wanted to talk about, which I
- 55:10Speaker 1: mentioned earlier, was that when ag and Ash were discussing
- 55:15Speaker 1: Ash's name, Ash said that Oslon is from a Hebrew
- 55:20Speaker 1: poem and it means daybreak or dawn or whatever. Now,
- 55:24Speaker 1: anyone who has read a lot of literature that isn't
- 55:27Speaker 1: me but might be you, knows that oslon does not
- 55:31Speaker 1: mean daybreak. It means lion in Turkish. So I have
- 55:37Speaker 1: a lot of questions. There are a couple of possibilities here.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Either a kmiyoshi out really didn't know that oslon doesn't
- 55:45Speaker 1: mean lying, and really thought it meant daybreak, which is
- 55:48Speaker 1: weird because because it doesn't actually sound anything like daybreak
- 55:52Speaker 1: does in Hebrew, which I looked up for you, by
- 55:54Speaker 1: the way. So in Hebrew sunrises zuricha and daybreak or
- 56:01Speaker 1: dawn or whatever is shaha, I think, so neither of
- 56:05Speaker 1: those sound like oslon. Then, knowing a little bit of Hebrew,
- 56:09Speaker 1: I mean not really, but knowing what Hebrew sounds like
- 56:11Speaker 1: as a Jew person, oslon does not sound like a
- 56:15Speaker 1: Hebrew word at all, So why would she think that
- 56:20Speaker 1: it was? Did someone else tell her this? You know?
- 56:24Speaker 1: So that's the most realistic possibility is that she just
- 56:28Speaker 1: for some reason got confused and thought that this was
- 56:31Speaker 1: Hebrew for daybreak and it's not. And then either she
- 56:35Speaker 1: figured it out and just decided to go with it,
- 56:38Speaker 1: or she never did and now just in universe that's
- 56:42Speaker 1: what oslon means. That's my least favorite possibility. My most
- 56:47Speaker 1: favorite possibility is that Ash just asked his dad at
- 56:50Speaker 1: some point and his dad was like, ah, I don't
- 56:52Speaker 1: know your mom's Jewish, so maybe it's like a Hebrew
- 56:56Speaker 1: word for like daybreak or something, and he just kind
- 56:59Speaker 1: of went with it because I can't imagine Ash just
- 57:02Speaker 1: getting that wrong out of nowhere. So I don't know,
- 57:06Speaker 1: but I guess we'll never know unless somebody asks Kimi Yoshida,
- 57:10Speaker 1: but I am not going to because I do not
- 57:12Speaker 1: know her. But it does make me wonder is Ash Jewish?
- 57:16Speaker 1: Because I doubt a non Jewish person would use a
- 57:22Speaker 1: Hebrew word that was specifically from a Hebrew prayer as
- 57:28Speaker 1: the name for their child, even if it really isn't,
- 57:33Speaker 1: but it could be in universe, So I think Ash
- 57:37Speaker 1: is probably Jewish, and that makes me feel nice. I
- 57:40Speaker 1: guess it doesn't really matter because he's not a person,
- 57:44Speaker 1: but still kind of interesting thing to think about. So
- 57:48Speaker 1: beyond that, if we take oslon to mean dawn or daybreak,
- 57:53Speaker 1: which doesn't but it does in universe, it seems it's
- 57:58Speaker 1: really there's a really interesting dichotomy between oslon and Ash's
- 58:04Speaker 1: chosen nickname Ash, obviously, because I mean, if you think
- 58:08Speaker 1: about it, what we know about the word oslon in
- 58:11Speaker 1: universe is that you know it's dawn, which is typically
- 58:15Speaker 1: like bright and beautiful, and you get the promise of
- 58:19Speaker 1: like a new day with new opportunities, and the world
- 58:23Speaker 1: is continuing and things might be okay or maybe you
- 58:26Speaker 1: have to go to work and you hate that, but
- 58:27Speaker 1: dawn is beautiful, you know, It's just this kind of
- 58:34Speaker 1: wonderful thing that comes before the rest of the day.
- 58:37Speaker 1: And as we know, Ash really likes the dawn and
- 58:41Speaker 1: sunsets and he thinks that they're the best things about
- 58:43Speaker 1: the city. So that is what his mom wanted for him.
- 58:49Speaker 1: But then if you look at his chosen nickname, which
- 58:53Speaker 1: I mean may have been chosen by his parents, it
- 58:55Speaker 1: really doesn't matter when Ash became his preferred name. But
- 59:01Speaker 1: it is nothing like dawn or sunrise. You know. Ash
- 59:06Speaker 1: is a dull gray or black or white, kind of
- 59:10Speaker 1: lifeless color. It's something that is overlooked and thrown away
- 59:17Speaker 1: because it really is worthless. It's not the promise of
- 59:20Speaker 1: something new. It is the end result of something. It's
- 59:23Speaker 1: the product of a destructive act, you know. It's what's
- 59:27Speaker 1: left over when everything else has been burned away. And
- 59:31Speaker 1: I think that that is a perfect name for Ash.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Actually sad maybe, but kind of correct in a really
- 59:43Speaker 1: uncomfortable and unsettling way, this kind of like overlooked child
- 59:49Speaker 1: because he really has been he really has just been neglected,
- 59:54Speaker 1: you know, by his family, by the world, and he
- 59:58Speaker 1: really at his just kind of what's left after these
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: horrible events in his life. I don't know, man, I
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: don't know if I made myself sad or confused there,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: but I thought about that in the shower, So maybe
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: it means something to you, maybe it doesn't, but you know,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: we're looking at what, at least Agy thinks his family
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: wanted for him and what actually became of him name wise.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: So I think I'm just gonna stop there because I
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: think I've talked to you plenty this week, and I
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: think that next week is going to be a lot
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: of talking. So thank you for listening. And I really
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: mean that I desperately, desperately want to talk about this
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: anime with someone that would actually talk back to me,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: but I don't really have anyone, and you guys are
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: still super helpful letting me kind of process my ideas
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: about this, because you know, despite the thing that we
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: do every week that I've been doing, I mean, this
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: podcast for a couple of years now, this is actually
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: probably the first piece of media that I've thought this
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: deeply about since, Like I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: when it was airing when I was a teenager. So yeah,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I really appreciate you listening, and I hope that you
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: don't hate this and you don't think that I'm crazy,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: but if you do, totally get it. Man. So I
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: forgot that this is coming out on Thanksgiving, So I
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: hope you have a really good Thanksgiving if you are
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: in the US and you celebrate it. If you're not
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: in the US, I hope you have a really good whatever.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm gonna see you soon. I guess you
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: know metaphorically later weeps.
