Former Eastlake High football coach Ruben Rodriguez’s criminal case has been dropped after he completed a pre-trial diversion program, avoiding conviction for an assault charge against his girlfriend. The case was dismissed on June 29, 2026, following his release on bond in September 2025 and successful completion of program requirements. Rodriguez, who led the team to five winning seasons and two district titles before being fired, now has his legal matter closed.
