- 0:35Speaker 2: Everything in between.
- 0:36Speaker 3: We all go through hurdles in life, and my goal
- 0:39Speaker 3: through these discussions is to empower you to better navigate

- 0:54Speaker 3: with Sammy Clark. She is the creator of Form, an
- 0:58Speaker 3: app that boasts all aspects of physical, mental, and nutritional wellness.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Started in August twenty twenty one by Sammy and her
- 1:08Speaker 3: teen Today, form has more than twenty thousand active users,
- 1:13Speaker 3: and in our episode we are talking about how she
- 1:17Speaker 3: did it. Sammy, originally from the Temecula region of California,
- 1:22Speaker 3: has a undeniable passion for fitness and wellness that sparked
- 1:27Speaker 3: her interest in being an entrepreneur, something that she never
- 1:31Speaker 3: expected for herself. A dancer throughout childhood before moving to
- 1:35Speaker 3: Los Angeles at seventeen to pursue modeling.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Finding fitness completely transformed her life.
- 1:42Speaker 3: She decided to pursue her passions, get certified in multiple modalities,
- 1:48Speaker 3: and take things to the next level. During the pandemic,
- 1:52Speaker 3: all of us stuck inside, Sammy got creative and that
- 1:56Speaker 3: is where form began.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Her positivity iss.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I love her holistic point of view on wellness, and
- 2:03Speaker 3: in today's episode, Sammy also gets vulnerable about the difficulties
- 2:08Speaker 3: she's had over the last few years of building her business,
- 2:11Speaker 3: how comparison seeps in, and where her mind goes when
- 2:17Speaker 3: that happens. How she manages to keep a positive mindset
- 2:21Speaker 3: and wish even her biggest competitors well on her journey
- 2:26Speaker 3: toward helping her girlies, as she calls them, live healthier, happier,
- 2:32Speaker 3: more motivated lives. Sound familiar. Really enjoyed this conversation with
- 2:36Speaker 3: Sammy and truly just so impressed by what she's built
- 2:41Speaker 3: co founding this company with her best friend, Sammy Bernstein.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I definitely was taking a few notes during our conversation,
- 2:48Speaker 3: and I know it's one that you're gonna love. Make
- 2:51Speaker 3: sure you're following along with Hurdle over on social It's

- 3:06Speaker 3: love the opportunity to land in your inbox with the
- 3:09Speaker 3: same motivation and inspiration you love from the show.
- 3:12Speaker 2: With that, let's get to hurdling today.
- 3:22Speaker 3: I am sitting down with Sammy Clark, She's the creator
- 3:26Speaker 3: of form. How are you doing today, Sammy?
- 3:29Speaker 1: I'm doing so good. Emily, how are you?
- 3:32Speaker 2: I'm good. You have like a great energy to you
- 3:34Speaker 2: right now.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Oh, thank you. I honestly, you know, I had my
- 3:39Speaker 1: morning routine. I had a good work at it. I
- 3:42Speaker 1: feel like I'm just feeling the Friday feels.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I feel like you like just kind of put down
- 3:48Speaker 3: the runway for me to ask you about this now.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So the morning routine, where does it begin for you?
- 3:54Speaker 3: What time does it begin for you? Give us the info.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So this year and twenty twenty three, I'm actually so
- 4:01Speaker 1: focused on it starting in my night routine, which isn't
- 4:05Speaker 1: usually how I started in twenty twenty two, and I
- 4:07Speaker 1: think it's made such a difference. So for me, it
- 4:10Speaker 1: really starts by preparing myself the night before to have
- 4:14Speaker 1: the best setup for the morning. So for me, the
- 4:18Speaker 1: night routine is still having that whole wind down moment,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but really like living in that Google cal seeing what
- 4:24Speaker 1: I have the next day, feeling so prepared, so ready.
- 4:27Speaker 1: All of my laptop, my electronics are plugged in like
- 4:31Speaker 1: the office, the area is set up so that I
- 4:33Speaker 1: can just like let my mind totally escape when I
- 4:36Speaker 1: go to bed and wake up feeling super excited. And
- 4:40Speaker 1: then I end the night with breathwork. So that's kind
- 4:42Speaker 1: of like my little night routine to go into the morning.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I feel like I need to mention that to set
- 4:47Speaker 1: up and feel amazing when I wake up. When I
- 4:50Speaker 1: wake up, I instantly have a lot of gratitude. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: start with prayer. I talk to my gods and just
- 4:57Speaker 1: say like, let's have the best day. What do you
- 4:59Speaker 1: need from me today, and just like really set the tone.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I instantly do my skincare. I feel like it just
- 5:05Speaker 1: wakes me up. So if it's even just eye patches
- 5:08Speaker 1: and like an ice roller, it's like I'm already in
- 5:11Speaker 1: that self care mode which I think is just so
- 5:14Speaker 1: recipitated for the rest of the day, and then I
- 5:17Speaker 1: will I have all my different beverages, so I do
- 5:19Speaker 1: a lot of gut health drinks, So I have these
- 5:22Speaker 1: certain powders that I drink and ali Vera just to
- 5:25Speaker 1: protect my gut and help my skin. Since I dealt
- 5:27Speaker 1: with acne for so long, I prioritize it so much.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And then I move into my breath work or meditation.
- 5:34Speaker 1: This morning I did a Joe to Spenza meditation. I
- 5:37Speaker 1: really let my body tell me what do I need today.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Some days I need that energized breath work and some
- 5:44Speaker 1: days I need to like calm, chill and have a
- 5:46Speaker 1: certain meditation, and sometimes it's a walk. So I really
- 5:49Speaker 1: allow myself to tell me what I need that morning,
- 5:52Speaker 1: but taking five to twenty minutes to do so, and
- 5:56Speaker 1: then I will get my movement in. So for me
- 5:58Speaker 1: right now, I'm really focused on plates, which has been incredible,
- 6:02Speaker 1: so kind of having that slower but still incredible movement.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I move around thirty to thirty five minutes, and with
- 6:09Speaker 1: that I do stretch and recovery just to really support
- 6:12Speaker 1: my body even more. And then I like shower and
- 6:16Speaker 1: get ready and have that cup of coffee and here
- 6:18Speaker 1: I am.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I love the summary of wellness beverages.
- 6:22Speaker 3: I literally was joking with a friend the other day,
- 6:24Speaker 3: I said, my autobiography is going to be titled as
- 6:27Speaker 3: Many Beverages as Possible.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's so true. I'm like, I also feel like for me,
- 6:33Speaker 1: it's such a like doing rituals like that just also
- 6:37Speaker 1: put me into such a like aura like kind of
- 6:40Speaker 1: you doing these you know, supplements or powders whatever, drink beverages,
- 6:44Speaker 1: you're doing your greens, your tea. I think it's just
- 6:48Speaker 1: like letting yourself know you're choosing yourself. Like right off
- 6:50Speaker 1: the bat when I'm doing that, I'm like, you're already
- 6:53Speaker 1: saying we're going to have a good day because you're
- 6:55Speaker 1: doing the things that will help me. So I encourage
- 6:58Speaker 1: people to like, yeah, pick one beverage I have for
- 7:00Speaker 1: as well, like so many, but pick one and let
- 7:02Speaker 1: that be your like morning ritual that you've already chosen yourself.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And a couple of things to double click on right
- 7:08Speaker 3: from the get go. The first thing that I want
- 7:10Speaker 3: to double click on is someone may hear you say
- 7:13Speaker 3: I want to be really intentional with how I practice
- 7:17Speaker 3: mindfulness in the mornings, You're giving yourself the opportunity to
- 7:20Speaker 3: either do breathwork, do meditation, or go for a walk.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And someone might hear.
- 7:24Speaker 3: That and think, Okay, that sounds like very freeing, but
- 7:27Speaker 3: also like leaving that much up to choice doesn't work
- 7:30Speaker 3: for me.
- 7:31Speaker 2: What do you say to that person.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I actually love that you brought that up, because when
- 7:36Speaker 1: I first started, I didn't really leave it up to choice.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I actually needed that consistency and that thirty days of like,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you're doing this no matter what kind of energy I
- 7:46Speaker 1: let myself have, Like a one day pass is what
- 7:48Speaker 1: I would call it. So if I missed one day,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I wasn't allowed to do too. And for me, that's
- 7:52Speaker 1: what I needed in the beginning to start my wellness journey.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I've obviously progressed to where I'm at now where I
- 7:59Speaker 1: can have that choice because I've connected to my body
- 8:01Speaker 1: so much. But when the beginning, I had no idea
- 8:05Speaker 1: what I wanted or what was needed. So I picked
- 8:08Speaker 1: something that resonated with me. So someone was listening right
- 8:11Speaker 1: now and was like, Okay, I'm very interested in the
- 8:15Speaker 1: breath work, I'm very interested in the walk. Whatever sounds
- 8:17Speaker 1: like intriguing for you and can fit into your schedule.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Do that for thirty days is how I started. And
- 8:24Speaker 1: then from there I can ask myself do I want
- 8:26Speaker 1: to continue that or do I want to change and
- 8:28Speaker 1: add something different?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think what you're really getting into here
- 8:33Speaker 3: is the beauty of being okay with changing the plan, right,
- 8:36Speaker 3: because you know what the ultimate goal is, Like, the
- 8:39Speaker 3: ultimate goal for you was to find some opportunity to
- 8:43Speaker 3: get closer with yourself, to get closer and really be
- 8:47Speaker 3: present in your body. And knowing that, knowing what the
- 8:50Speaker 3: goal is, that then gave you the opportunity to kind
- 8:54Speaker 3: of ebb and flow with what felt right.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely, And I really loved to say this. I'm
- 9:01Speaker 1: twenty eight now, and when I started my journey, I
- 9:03Speaker 1: think I was around twenty three, and I think workouts
- 9:06Speaker 1: were my first step into my wellness journey of like
- 9:09Speaker 1: this feels good, I really want to take care of myself.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And then after that, slowly was a journaling routine. And
- 9:17Speaker 1: I used to think that I didn't have an intuition.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I kind of hear myself. When people would say, like,
- 9:23Speaker 1: just listen to yourself, I'd be like, mine is so
- 9:26Speaker 1: freaking quiet. I can't hear anything, and it would be
- 9:29Speaker 1: frustrating and defeating, and I felt like something was wrong
- 9:32Speaker 1: with me. And I think if anyone is listening and
- 9:35Speaker 1: is like, I really want to have that conversation with myself,
- 9:39Speaker 1: but I'm having a hard time hearing it. Understanding what
- 9:41Speaker 1: this means, I would say, you already taking the action
- 9:46Speaker 1: to do these little steps is getting you closer to
- 9:49Speaker 1: that conversation with yourself. So to continue doing those and
- 9:53Speaker 1: leaning in and you will start to like see this
- 9:57Speaker 1: beautiful conversation that your mind and body just starts to have,
- 10:01Speaker 1: and you'll be able to be decisive hear what your
- 10:04Speaker 1: gut sounds like, because it is also different for all
- 10:06Speaker 1: of us. And now I'm twenty eight and I can
- 10:09Speaker 1: say I can hear it quite clearly, which is great.
- 10:12Speaker 3: You're like, there is an intuition, it does exist, you know.
- 10:15Speaker 3: You also, in telling us about your morning routine, beyond
- 10:19Speaker 3: the beverages and all the things that go along with it,
- 10:21Speaker 3: there was a lot in there. How long would you
- 10:23Speaker 3: say it took you to land on what feels like
- 10:26Speaker 3: the sweet spot that you're in now.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Oh, I would say a couple of years. For sure,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I would say I just changed it a lot. You know,
- 10:35Speaker 1: I think I started slow, so you know, I didn't
- 10:39Speaker 1: go one to one hundred. I started with my movement,
- 10:42Speaker 1: like I mentioned. From there, I started with a journaling
- 10:45Speaker 1: routine that took five minutes. From there, I felt like
- 10:48Speaker 1: I could add a little bit more. So then it
- 10:50Speaker 1: was meditation, and so I slowly added these things in.
- 10:55Speaker 1: And then obviously, if I actually wanted my dream morning routine,
- 10:59Speaker 1: it could be like three hours long, which we don't
- 11:00Speaker 1: have time for. So I really broke it down of
- 11:03Speaker 1: like what is actually serving me the most out of
- 11:07Speaker 1: all these different habits I've tried, and I broke it
- 11:10Speaker 1: down to fit into one hour. So that's and that's
- 11:13Speaker 1: like when I have that luxury of waking up at
- 11:15Speaker 1: five point thirty, have that full hour. I also have
- 11:18Speaker 1: routines that I go to that are only fifteen minutes, So.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Right, like a plan B.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yes, we all need a plan B.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, totally.
- 11:27Speaker 3: So you also told us that you started your journey
- 11:29Speaker 3: with movement now being at the forefront of a major
- 11:35Speaker 3: movement community. But of course even more than that, knowing
- 11:39Speaker 3: that give us a little insight into how you got
- 11:42Speaker 3: your start with movement. What did movement look like for
- 11:45Speaker 3: you at the get go?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, the get go, it looked like a very physical
- 11:53Speaker 1: like I'm doing this to look good, and that's just
- 11:55Speaker 1: in full transparency. That's how I started. I grew up
- 11:59Speaker 1: in a family that was very health and wellness focused,
- 12:02Speaker 1: which I'm so grateful for. And then when I left
- 12:05Speaker 1: home to live in Los Angeles, it was this time
- 12:08Speaker 1: where I got to decide what I wanted to take
- 12:10Speaker 1: with me and what I was going to leave behind.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Not intentionally, I left behind a lot of things, just
- 12:15Speaker 1: because I came to LA and just you know, got excited.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So the movement was the one thing I did do
- 12:21Speaker 1: growing up. I was a dancer and I loved moving
- 12:24Speaker 1: my body. So I started taking different workout classes kind
- 12:27Speaker 1: of feeling into what I liked. Again, it did start
- 12:30Speaker 1: as this physical thing. I knew it. It helped my
- 12:32Speaker 1: mental state. I felt better than others. I would say
- 12:34Speaker 1: when I'm talking to them after a workout, there's just
- 12:36Speaker 1: a high you get and then doorphins are running and
- 12:38Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm feeling so good. But over time I
- 12:42Speaker 1: think that I saw there was a deeper purpose for it.
- 12:45Speaker 1: So I really started to connect to just the beauty
- 12:49Speaker 1: of my body, actually being grateful that I was moving it,
- 12:53Speaker 1: that I was protecting it, that I was allowing it
- 12:57Speaker 1: to feel as healthiest. I was like giving it more
- 13:00Speaker 1: of what it can do and like pushing limits. So
- 13:03Speaker 1: such a mental thing that I started to tap into
- 13:07Speaker 1: and that slowly started to come through. And now I'm
- 13:10Speaker 1: just like obsessed with learning different types of movements and
- 13:13Speaker 1: challenging myself because I've seen the return mentally, physically and spiritually.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And when you say that you grew up in a
- 13:21Speaker 2: really active household, really health conscious, what was that like for.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You, Oh my gosh, it was. Honestly, my parents I
- 13:31Speaker 1: am so so grateful for because I know, I feel
- 13:34Speaker 1: like they really set me up here to just succeed
- 13:37Speaker 1: in this area. But I had home cooked meals from
- 13:41Speaker 1: my mom, which was amazing and definitely on the healthier side.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But what I loved is we also had the balance
- 13:48Speaker 1: of like going to McDonald's after dance class, so I
- 13:51Speaker 1: feel like there was not I never felt restricted, like
- 13:54Speaker 1: we weren't allowed to have soda in the house or
- 13:57Speaker 1: like snacks that weren't the best. But I, for some
- 14:00Speaker 1: reason never really connected to that as restricting. I just
- 14:03Speaker 1: I felt good based on what she was giving me.
- 14:06Speaker 1: So that's where I stayed, and I guess in that place.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And then also it was discipline was like a huge
- 14:13Speaker 1: thing my dad taught us. You know, he was an
- 14:15Speaker 1: entrepreneur himself and woke up really early, got his workout
- 14:18Speaker 1: in and always said, like, you know, when you look good,
- 14:21Speaker 1: you feel good. And you could tell he felt good
- 14:23Speaker 1: every time he put a suit on. And so I
- 14:25Speaker 1: think I understood, like being a dancer, that you know,
- 14:29Speaker 1: it takes discipline, and like this is just how it
- 14:31Speaker 1: goes to have the aftermath. So I think they taught
- 14:34Speaker 1: me a lot about that, which discipline I think I've
- 14:38Speaker 1: taken now for you know, my whole life, which I'm
- 14:42Speaker 1: so grateful for.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Upon moving to LA you mentioned being kind of excited
- 14:49Speaker 3: about the opportunity to find what wellness looked like for you,
- 14:53Speaker 3: what you wanted to bring with you in this move.
- 14:56Speaker 2: What would you say at first?
- 14:58Speaker 3: Some of the habits were you fell into that didn't
- 15:01Speaker 3: serve you.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Nutrition was probably the biggest one. Even to this day.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I'm not like one that loves to be in the kitchen,
- 15:11Speaker 1: So I think that I had roommates that you know,
- 15:15Speaker 1: definitely weren't on the healthy route, and I think I
- 15:17Speaker 1: fell into that. So I wasn't eating the best. I
- 15:21Speaker 1: didn't really have an eating routine. I kind of just
- 15:24Speaker 1: eat really big meals whenever I felt like it, or
- 15:27Speaker 1: late at night and there was just no Probably my
- 15:30Speaker 1: belly was like, what are you doing to me? Is
- 15:33Speaker 1: what was going on in there? So I think nutrition
- 15:36Speaker 1: was really huge. I think sleep I also didn't prioritize
- 15:39Speaker 1: when I was younger. I also think like actually having
- 15:43Speaker 1: stillness and checking in with myself was something I didn't
- 15:46Speaker 1: prioritize when I was younger. I look back and I
- 15:48Speaker 1: think I lived in a lot of fight or flight
- 15:51Speaker 1: mode and just was like very new to a city
- 15:53Speaker 1: and allowed the city to own me instead of me
- 15:56Speaker 1: Like owning myself in the city is how I would
- 15:58Speaker 1: say it.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Did the city owning you look like?
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think it looked like me saying yes to a
- 16:05Speaker 1: lot of things that I actually didn't want to do.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I'm in this moment now more than ever of like
- 16:10Speaker 1: if it's not an f yes, then it's a hell no.
- 16:13Speaker 1: And I think back in the day, I allowed myself
- 16:16Speaker 1: to kind of people pleasing is a huge thing I've
- 16:19Speaker 1: worked through in therapy as well. So when I was younger,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I think I just allowed myself to do what everyone
- 16:24Speaker 1: else was doing and said yes to a lot of
- 16:27Speaker 1: things that actually did not feel comfortable in my body.
- 16:31Speaker 3: And when you were saying yes to all of these big,
- 16:35Speaker 3: random meals at all different times and not being on
- 16:38Speaker 3: any sort of a schedule, how did that make your
- 16:41Speaker 3: body feel.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Lethargic? I remember like just tired. I didn't have but
- 16:49Speaker 1: again I would I would think it's because of other things.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I wouldn't really connected to food, which is funny. I
- 16:54Speaker 1: grew up in a home where we prioritized food, but
- 16:56Speaker 1: that's where I said, I kind of let things go
- 16:58Speaker 1: out the door. Felt like I was lethargic, tired, my skin,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I was breaking out, which I was a model back
- 17:04Speaker 1: in the day, and that was really hard on me.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I feel like I was working out and I wanted
- 17:10Speaker 1: these physical results and I wasn't seeing them because I
- 17:13Speaker 1: wasn't matching it with the food as well. And then clarity,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I think that I just like was not clear obviously
- 17:21Speaker 1: because I don't think I was like protecting my gut
- 17:23Speaker 1: and taking care of my body through food.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Was there one specific hurdle moment that made you realize
- 17:29Speaker 3: that you needed to make a shift.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I think meeting my fiance was a really big moment
- 17:35Speaker 1: for me. He is an ex athlete now he was
- 17:38Speaker 1: a hockey player, and meeting him and kind of seeing
- 17:42Speaker 1: him prioritize kind of like my dad did. He had
- 17:44Speaker 1: such a routine and he was eating so properly to
- 17:49Speaker 1: fuel himself and feel good, and then he was working out,
- 17:52Speaker 1: and I think it brought me back to my roots
- 17:54Speaker 1: and reminded me like, Okay, I actually thrive in routine.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I thrive and feeling good. I thrive and taking care
- 18:01Speaker 1: of myself. So I would say he was a huge
- 18:03Speaker 1: part of it.
- 18:04Speaker 3: And when you started to shift things up, do you
- 18:08Speaker 3: remember maybe the hardest part of that shift for you.
- 18:13Speaker 1: So I guess I started my walle on j journey
- 18:15Speaker 1: twenty two, twenty three, maybe like twenty four. I met
- 18:17Speaker 1: my fiance just right after that, So young twenty is
- 18:21Speaker 1: still figuring it all out. But I think I was
- 18:24Speaker 1: just trying to figure out what worked for me. Was
- 18:27Speaker 1: probably the biggest hurdle because a lot of people, as
- 18:30Speaker 1: we all do, even you know, whoever was listening here,
- 18:32Speaker 1: like we are taking advice and watching so many different
- 18:36Speaker 1: people go through their journey. And I think what I
- 18:38Speaker 1: did is I kind of was taking bits and pieces
- 18:41Speaker 1: from so many people that I didn't understand what actually
- 18:45Speaker 1: was working for me or what was right for me.
- 18:48Speaker 1: So I think that was like a big hurdle for
- 18:50Speaker 1: me to go through, was understanding what worked for me
- 18:56Speaker 1: from trial and error, but maybe not doing ten different
- 18:59Speaker 1: trials at this time to figure it out. And from Becky, Lucy, Megan, Jessica.
- 19:04Speaker 2: You know every name ever. Yeah, no, I totally hear that.
- 19:07Speaker 3: And I think that this is a pain point for
- 19:09Speaker 3: so many individuals, especially women, is that you get to
- 19:14Speaker 3: a point where you know you want to make a change,
- 19:16Speaker 3: but you almost have like paralysis by analysis because you're
- 19:19Speaker 3: looking at all these options and you can't choose just one,
- 19:23Speaker 3: and so because you're so inundated, you don't make a.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Choice at all. Which is why, at least on my end,
- 19:29Speaker 2: when someone messages me with a question along these lines
- 19:33Speaker 2: of like I don't know where to begin, it really
- 19:35Speaker 2: does revolve around doing this personal inventory that you're speaking
- 19:39Speaker 2: of and saying, Okay, what is it that Emily wants
- 19:42Speaker 2: what feels good for Emily and not just I don't know,
- 19:45Speaker 2: opening up your phone and being like, well, Sammy's doing this,
- 19:48Speaker 2: so I should do this.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yes, I love that it's such like a beautiful exercise
- 19:52Speaker 1: and like a little check in that makes such a difference.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I even tell girls too, which I did this myself,
- 19:58Speaker 1: is right out the way that you want to feel.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So like every emotion that comes to mind when you
- 20:04Speaker 1: think of you know, like you're saying, like my dream
- 20:07Speaker 1: self Emily, Like what does she feel like? What does
- 20:10Speaker 1: she look like in a day? What is she doing
- 20:11Speaker 1: in her days? Like how much time is she putting
- 20:14Speaker 1: into working out? Like what is your dream life look like?
- 20:17Speaker 1: Of your wellness journey? Like write it out? And for
- 20:21Speaker 1: me figuring out that like going to the gym for
- 20:24Speaker 1: an hour or two hours was not my jam because
- 20:27Speaker 1: I also was starting a company and it just was
- 20:30Speaker 1: not for me. So I knew right away, Okay, I
- 20:33Speaker 1: wanted something that was convenient for my life. Let me
- 20:36Speaker 1: write that down, but I still wanted it to be
- 20:38Speaker 1: insanely effective. Write that down, I wouldn't I want so
- 20:41Speaker 1: how I wanted to feel was energized, amazing, fulfilled, like
- 20:45Speaker 1: all these things and that helped me to connect to
- 20:49Speaker 1: who I needed to connect to. Right So then I'm
- 20:51Speaker 1: not going to make in with the big booty who
- 20:53Speaker 1: I want that big butt, but she's spending two times
- 20:56Speaker 1: or two hours in the gym, and I just said,
- 20:58Speaker 1: I don't want to do that. So I'm not going
- 20:59Speaker 1: to by Megan's program. I'm going to go to Jessica,
- 21:02Speaker 1: who seems really aligned with what I want for my
- 21:05Speaker 1: wellness goals.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Wouldn't it be so great though, that if like there
- 21:09Speaker 3: was some sort of like master search engine in our life,
- 21:12Speaker 3: that we could just be like, I want to feel
- 21:13Speaker 3: like this right now, and I have this much time
- 21:15Speaker 3: to get that way, and it would be like, this
- 21:17Speaker 3: is exactly what you should do. Yeah, be dreams, oh dreams,
- 21:22Speaker 3: But of course it doesn't work that way. And I
- 21:24Speaker 3: love that you even got asked specific beyond like how
- 21:27Speaker 3: you wanted to feel, knowing like where you wanted to be,
- 21:30Speaker 3: like oh, I want to do this in my home,
- 21:32Speaker 3: or oh, I do actually love the way that I
- 21:34Speaker 3: feel when I go to a gym, or it actually
- 21:36Speaker 3: really helps me when I'm surrounded by other people, and like,
- 21:38Speaker 3: what does that look like? Can those people be virtual?
- 21:41Speaker 3: Do they need to be irl? Like, there's no question
- 21:44Speaker 3: that is too small to ask yourself so that you
- 21:46Speaker 3: can get to where you want to be. That level
- 21:48Speaker 3: of self inquiry is critical.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I mean absolutely, And it's kind of crazy. Again, I
- 21:54Speaker 1: am at fault of this that I never asked myself
- 21:56Speaker 1: those questions, you know. I kind of was just reaching without,
- 22:01Speaker 1: like you said, Emily, of taking that pause and being like,
- 22:04Speaker 1: what do I want? What do I want to feel? Yeah?
- 22:07Speaker 1: What workouts do I even want to do? And then
- 22:10Speaker 1: connecting to that because I think where a lot of
- 22:12Speaker 1: people can't be consistent anymore and they drop with their
- 22:16Speaker 1: goals is they are doing things that aren't natural for
- 22:19Speaker 1: them and they have it checked in with themselves that
- 22:22Speaker 1: that's actually what they want.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's so funny because I stand firmly and
- 22:28Speaker 3: like where we are with this conversation. But I also
- 22:30Speaker 3: remember when I started running, running is like something I adore.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Now I have it in the routine and it's not
- 22:36Speaker 3: the only thing that I do. But when I started running,
- 22:38Speaker 3: I didn't like running, And so it's funny for me
- 22:41Speaker 3: because I didn't enjoy running, but I remember that I
- 22:44Speaker 3: enjoyed how running made me feel and I felt capable,
- 22:49Speaker 3: and noticing that and being conscious of that is what
- 22:52Speaker 3: kept me going back to running. So if you have
- 22:55Speaker 3: an inkling, the best thing that you can do for
- 22:57Speaker 3: yourself is at the very least yourself an opportunity to
- 23:01Speaker 3: try and then revisit how you feel. If you realize
- 23:05Speaker 3: that this thing that you're forcing yourself to do isn't
- 23:08Speaker 3: bringing you any source of contentment, then maybe it's time
- 23:11Speaker 3: to move on.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I love that so much. I might need to take
- 23:14Speaker 1: some tips from you, because I just started running, and
- 23:17Speaker 1: I am someone that actually still hates running even though
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'm attempting it. But the reason that I decided to
- 23:23Speaker 1: try it is because here was my new feelings. I
- 23:26Speaker 1: want to do one work out outside because I want
- 23:28Speaker 1: to be outside and I love the outdoors. I love nature.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I want to do something with a friend, so a
- 23:34Speaker 1: way to like or my partner like a way to
- 23:36Speaker 1: be with them, and for me, those two things that
- 23:39Speaker 1: I wanted to feel, I picked running to like connect
- 23:42Speaker 1: to and like you're saying, I don't love it, but
- 23:47Speaker 1: the feeling I feel afterwards and the feeling I feel
- 23:51Speaker 1: when I'm talking to my friends and catching up and
- 23:53Speaker 1: we're seeing the palm trees and blessed to live in
- 23:55Speaker 1: Los Angeles, I see the beach. I'm like, this is
- 23:58Speaker 1: what I asked for, you know. So I connected to
- 24:01Speaker 1: those feelings and found actually a routine that matched it.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Right. Oh, I love that. I love that.
- 24:06Speaker 3: See both of us really resistant to it at the beginning,
- 24:08Speaker 3: but there are perks to it if you stick with
- 24:11Speaker 3: it and you decide that it feels good for you
- 24:14Speaker 3: and your body. So you also mentioned modeling back in
- 24:17Speaker 3: your early twenties. Now obviously not doing that in the
- 24:22Speaker 3: same way. Tell me when your passion for spending time
- 24:26Speaker 3: with yourself, moving your body, incorporating movement into your regular
- 24:29Speaker 3: routine became you thinking should I be doing this for
- 24:33Speaker 3: other people too?
- 24:35Speaker 1: Absolutely? Social media has everything to do with that. I
- 24:40Speaker 1: was posting at the time my modeling photos almost as
- 24:43Speaker 1: like my book, and when Instagram stories came out, I
- 24:48Speaker 1: started posting more personal things as everyone kind of did,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and I started sharing the workout routines. I was speaking
- 24:55Speaker 1: of the eating habits that I was leaning into, kind
- 24:57Speaker 1: of all of these things that were making me feel
- 24:59Speaker 1: the way that I felt, and I wanted to share it,
- 25:02Speaker 1: but I wanted to share it from my own experience,
- 25:05Speaker 1: and from there I just had an influx of questions
- 25:08Speaker 1: and girls just feeling so similar and how did you
- 25:11Speaker 1: get to where you were? And I was like, oh
- 25:14Speaker 1: my gosh, I could talk about this all day, like
- 25:16Speaker 1: this is this is something that I'm super passionate about.
- 25:20Speaker 1: So from there I kind of saw the ask for it.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And I wasn't too into modeling. It was a time
- 25:26Speaker 1: where I think it was paying the bills, but wasn't
- 25:28Speaker 1: my passion in life. And I took the initiative, got certified,
- 25:34Speaker 1: and decided to just take it all the way to
- 25:36Speaker 1: social media. So I was posting on YouTube, I was
- 25:39Speaker 1: doing free workouts on YouTube, free workouts on Instagram, and
- 25:43Speaker 1: just kind of sharing my knowledge for free, honestly and
- 25:46Speaker 1: just really getting knowledgeable on my side. And then it
- 25:50Speaker 1: wasn't until COVID hit. Obviously a lot of people needed
- 25:53Speaker 1: resources that were going to help them stay sane and
- 25:56Speaker 1: feel good in their home, and I knew my time
- 26:00Speaker 1: to step up again. I had that like gut punch
- 26:02Speaker 1: and I was like, it's your time. They need you.
- 26:05Speaker 1: So five times a week I did Instagram lives. Two
- 26:08Speaker 1: out of those times I had like guests come on
- 26:10Speaker 1: like yourself and kind of just talk about their journey
- 26:13Speaker 1: and how they're staying okay during this time. And from there,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I just really saw this community grow and this asked
- 26:21Speaker 1: for this place to bring what I have created into
- 26:25Speaker 1: this one stop shop. And so in twenty twenty one,
- 26:29Speaker 1: I released form and here we are.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Something that I want to make sure that I point
- 26:34Speaker 3: out is in that story. You made it a priority
- 26:37Speaker 3: to say and then I got certified, and I think
- 26:40Speaker 3: that that is just so important again to really make
- 26:44Speaker 3: note of because there are going to be so many
- 26:47Speaker 3: people in your feed when you go scrolling that may
- 26:51Speaker 3: look great just like you, but haven't taken the time
- 26:53Speaker 3: to make sure that the information that they're distributing is
- 26:56Speaker 3: information that can keep their followers safe. And so I, genuinely,
- 27:00Speaker 3: as a journalist who's constantly vetting experts, really have just
- 27:05Speaker 3: this deep appreciation for the fact that that was something
- 27:08Speaker 3: that was a priority for you.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you. I honestly have incredible people around me
- 27:15Speaker 1: that were like trainers that I worked with, and I
- 27:20Speaker 1: think that I knew how they were treating me, and
- 27:23Speaker 1: I wanted to treat my clients, my girls, the exact
- 27:27Speaker 1: same way of just taking care of them and understanding
- 27:30Speaker 1: their bodies to the max. So I definitely wanted that
- 27:33Speaker 1: to be a priority even in plates now that I
- 27:35Speaker 1: just got certified, same thing. Made sure to get that
- 27:39Speaker 1: certification just to give the highest priority to everyone's bodies
- 27:43Speaker 1: in these new forms of movement.
- 27:44Speaker 3: You said that you decided that you were going to
- 27:47Speaker 3: build this business build form during the pandemic. As someone
- 27:52Speaker 3: who grew up with an entrepreneur for a father, did
- 27:54Speaker 3: you feel like you had that same tenacity. Did you
- 27:58Speaker 3: feel excited by the idea of building a business.
- 28:04Speaker 1: You know what's funny is I never knew that I
- 28:09Speaker 1: had that in me. I think when you're doing what
- 28:13Speaker 1: is right for you, you're kind of, I like to say,
- 28:16Speaker 1: like floating, like almost like you're just someone's like holding
- 28:18Speaker 1: your feet and somehow you're walking, but you don't really know.
- 28:22Speaker 1: How was the feeling that I was feeling, because it
- 28:24Speaker 1: almost was like I just continued to do what felt
- 28:27Speaker 1: right and that led me to here, which is being
- 28:30Speaker 1: an entrepreneur. And I look back at plenty of jobs
- 28:34Speaker 1: that I had where they were not for me and
- 28:37Speaker 1: they were not fulfilling, and it was working for someone else,
- 28:39Speaker 1: and there were just so many things to that that
- 28:41Speaker 1: I look back on. I didn't go to college. School
- 28:44Speaker 1: was just something I couldn't really engage in either, because
- 28:47Speaker 1: again I probably was not interested in a lot of
- 28:49Speaker 1: the things I was learning. Sorry, isn't that just so crazy?
- 28:54Speaker 1: Those side note Like I have gone to school in
- 28:57Speaker 1: so many different ways towards you know, getting education and
- 29:01Speaker 1: things I'm passionate about, But in school, I literally got
- 29:05Speaker 1: the worst grades. I couldn't pay attention. So it just
- 29:08Speaker 1: shows like when you're passionate about something, you'll listen and
- 29:11Speaker 1: you'll want.
- 29:11Speaker 2: To learn, Sammy.
- 29:12Speaker 3: This also shows that, like there's no one way right,
- 29:15Speaker 3: Like you learned that conventional education like didn't really feel
- 29:20Speaker 3: like it was serving you. Not to say that, like
- 29:22Speaker 3: conventional education is not worth your time, but for you.
- 29:25Speaker 3: You then decided, Okay, but this is where my passion is.
- 29:29Speaker 3: So I'm going to focus on becoming the best I
- 29:31Speaker 3: can and executing on this thing that I am so
- 29:35Speaker 3: intrigued by.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, And that's what I just continued to lean
- 29:39Speaker 1: into and I think about it. Someone once told me
- 29:43Speaker 1: when I was so lost, had no idea what I
- 29:46Speaker 1: wanted to do. I truly could not figure out what
- 29:49Speaker 1: my life purpose was, what my passions were. Again, I
- 29:52Speaker 1: was good at things, but it wasn't anything that I
- 29:54Speaker 1: wanted to dive my soul into. And they were like,
- 29:57Speaker 1: what is one thing that you could do that if
- 29:59Speaker 1: someone page you zero dollars, you still would continue doing it?
- 30:03Speaker 1: And for me it was just me living my life
- 30:07Speaker 1: of the wellness routines that I was doing and the
- 30:10Speaker 1: way that I felt that's what I was passionate about
- 30:13Speaker 1: with sharing with other people. So again, I think I've
- 30:15Speaker 1: just been so supported in my journey of continuing to
- 30:20Speaker 1: lean into the things that felt right, which has now
- 30:22Speaker 1: led me to an entrepreneur, which I am now like, Yeah,
- 30:25Speaker 1: it makes a lot of sense.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Talk to me about the things that at the beginning
- 30:33Speaker 3: were just like comical that you told yourself you were
- 30:36Speaker 3: going to figure out how to do. Oh, because I
- 30:41Speaker 3: have some of these stories too, so I'm so curious
- 30:43Speaker 3: what yours are.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think I felt like I needed
- 30:50Speaker 1: to know how to do everything instead of being like
- 30:55Speaker 1: I don't know and let me ask other people who
- 30:57Speaker 1: do know. I think that was something I learned quickly.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Is Yeah, I felt like I needed to know it all,
- 31:03Speaker 1: especially with starting your own business. I didn't ask enough question,
- 31:08Speaker 1: so I would be like trying to build a website
- 31:10Speaker 1: on my own. I would be trying to, like, I
- 31:12Speaker 1: don't even know, edit YouTube on my own, which takes
- 31:15Speaker 1: literally so long for someone who's never done it. Editing
- 31:18Speaker 1: a YouTube video takes so long. And I think it
- 31:21Speaker 1: was just like me trying to do things that I
- 31:25Speaker 1: was not supposed to be doing. Was a lot of
- 31:27Speaker 1: what I did in the beginning of my journey of
- 31:29Speaker 1: starting a business.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Taking a break from today's episode to talk to you
- 31:38Speaker 3: about my sponsors.

- 35:21Speaker 3: It could be beneficial for you to ask other people
- 35:25Speaker 3: for help, a place that I can say that I've
- 35:29Speaker 3: been in is knowing that, but then also maybe not
- 35:34Speaker 3: wanting to spend on something like that. So how did
- 35:38Speaker 3: you manage that aspect of it?
- 35:41Speaker 1: That's so funny you said that, because literally the other
- 35:43Speaker 1: thought that came in my head was I I obviously
- 35:47Speaker 1: it's kind of like you get what you pay for.
- 35:49Speaker 1: And I think I just tried to cut too many
- 35:51Speaker 1: corners because I was started the business nervous of spending
- 35:57Speaker 1: too much in a certain area. You know, you start
- 36:00Speaker 1: a business, you don't know what's going to come in.
- 36:01Speaker 1: And I think I learned that quite quickly of you
- 36:05Speaker 1: get what you pay for. So I was hiring people
- 36:08Speaker 1: that were actually causing me more trouble and causing me
- 36:12Speaker 1: more stress of having to just do it myself. So
- 36:15Speaker 1: I think I really wrote down again, what are the
- 36:20Speaker 1: things that I absolutely love doing and I can do
- 36:22Speaker 1: in my sleep and I thrive in and I'm like
- 36:25Speaker 1: so good at What are the things that I absolutely
- 36:28Speaker 1: despise I'm not good at I need to give off.
- 36:31Speaker 1: And from there, I just prioritized what actually was going
- 36:35Speaker 1: to get the business up and running, and for me,
- 36:38Speaker 1: it was including someone to run operations. I am a creator.
- 36:42Speaker 1: That's where I started, was creating content and engaging with
- 36:45Speaker 1: my audience and creating these workouts and solidifying my craft.
- 36:49Speaker 1: And I needed to stay in that to be able
- 36:52Speaker 1: to run this business. So I found someone that could
- 36:54Speaker 1: actually run the back end instead of myself.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Instead of yourself. And once you did that, how did
- 37:00Speaker 2: it feel?
- 37:02Speaker 1: Empowering? It felt amazing, It felt like this is this
- 37:07Speaker 1: is right. It just felt so so right. And from
- 37:09Speaker 1: there that's exactly what I've done from every person I've hired.
- 37:13Speaker 1: It's always been intentional.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, So talk us through then, what was like
- 37:19Speaker 3: the beginning growth phases then of the business? A timeline perhaps,
- 37:25Speaker 3: so when did form actually launch?
- 37:28Speaker 1: Yes, it launched August twenty twenty one, August first, twenty twenty.
- 37:33Speaker 2: One, being a year and a half in.
- 37:36Speaker 3: When did you feel on that timeline that you were
- 37:40Speaker 3: really picking up scheme?
- 37:42Speaker 1: I want to say, like June is like really coming
- 37:44Speaker 1: to mind for me, like this summer moment where I
- 37:47Speaker 1: started to see our community talking to each other. That
- 37:54Speaker 1: was so fascinating to me, and I think it's skyrocketed
- 38:00Speaker 1: business as well. Was seeing our community not just like
- 38:04Speaker 1: show up for me and for Form and like themselves,
- 38:07Speaker 1: they were then supporting each other and like communicating with
- 38:10Speaker 1: each other, which is something we really value now and
- 38:13Speaker 1: we have ways that we do that even more. But
- 38:16Speaker 1: I think that was a huge like oh shit, this
- 38:20Speaker 1: is happening.
- 38:21Speaker 2: It's really working for us.
- 38:22Speaker 3: That's so interesting that you say that, because I think
- 38:24Speaker 3: that some other people would have identified some sort of
- 38:27Speaker 3: like growth number or like through something like that into
- 38:30Speaker 3: the mix. But for you to hone in on this
- 38:33Speaker 3: fact that, like your community chatting with one another was
- 38:36Speaker 3: what actually brought you so much joy, I think that's
- 38:39Speaker 3: very indicative of like who you are at the epicenter
- 38:42Speaker 3: of this business.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah. For me, I mean since I started this, it's
- 38:46Speaker 1: been community first, and I think that's where why I've
- 38:50Speaker 1: gotten to where I am and why the business is
- 38:52Speaker 1: so just beautifully organic, has blossomed because they are the
- 38:58Speaker 1: voices here and like them, communicating with each other is
- 39:01Speaker 1: also making those voices louder.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Now, how many active members does Form have?
- 39:07Speaker 1: We have twenty thousand members.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Cash just a casual twenty thousand members.
- 39:12Speaker 3: You know, that's interesting as well, because I was I
- 39:14Speaker 3: was actually super intrigued to know what you were going
- 39:16Speaker 3: to say when you said that, because twenty thousand members
- 39:19Speaker 3: of the service versus one hundred and twelve thousand followers
- 39:23Speaker 3: on Instagram. Can we talk about maybe the discrepancy there?
- 39:27Speaker 3: And like what that makes you think?
- 39:29Speaker 1: You know, it's so funny. This is something we talk
- 39:32Speaker 1: about as a squad quite often. And then myself like
- 39:36Speaker 1: almost you know, a half a million across or excuse me,
- 39:38Speaker 1: a million across all the different socials. I wish I
- 39:41Speaker 1: had like a better answer, because again, we debate this
- 39:44Speaker 1: quite often too. I think it's people being ready for
- 39:47Speaker 1: that commitment, because when I talk to our community, let's
- 39:52Speaker 1: say that's not a part of it. They are still
- 39:54Speaker 1: feeding off of the free content. So it's the YouTube videos,
- 39:58Speaker 1: the lives, anything that's like that free moment out there.
- 40:02Speaker 1: And I tell people that when they are ready to
- 40:05Speaker 1: put the money down is like when the commitment starts
- 40:09Speaker 1: in the sense that we have the programs ready for
- 40:12Speaker 1: you to take it to the next level. We have
- 40:14Speaker 1: the food ready for you to take it to the
- 40:15Speaker 1: next level. And I think until someone really feels like
- 40:19Speaker 1: that's what they need, then they are good with like
- 40:22Speaker 1: the way that they are committing.
- 40:24Speaker 3: I think that that kind of holds true across the board, though,
- 40:27Speaker 3: Like when you invest in yourself, then that kind of
- 40:30Speaker 3: change the changes the emphasis or the attention that you
- 40:33Speaker 3: give anyone thing. So for instance, like I'm currently working
- 40:37Speaker 3: on rehabilitating what feels like never ending planter fasci itis,
- 40:40Speaker 3: But until I started spending, you know, a great amount
- 40:44Speaker 3: of money to see a physical therapist twice a week,
- 40:48Speaker 3: I wasn't ready to take it as seriously as I
- 40:51Speaker 3: am right now a month into that journey. And so
- 40:53Speaker 3: that happens, and it's hard though, Like it's it's a
- 40:56Speaker 3: frustrating place to be for sure. It's kind of exactly
- 40:59Speaker 3: like you were speaking about at the beginning of your
- 41:01Speaker 3: journey with form, when you wanted better quality content but
- 41:05Speaker 3: you weren't sure if you were ready to spend on it.
- 41:07Speaker 2: It's like you have to be ready to make that leap, Biggs, I.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Mean truly exactly like you said, it's all areas of
- 41:13Speaker 1: your life. I think about my skin journey like I
- 41:16Speaker 1: tried to do so many like twists and turns and
- 41:19Speaker 1: quick fixes to get my acne away. And the moment
- 41:23Speaker 1: that I actually went and saw specialists and actually had
- 41:26Speaker 1: quality people telling me this is what's going on, what
- 41:29Speaker 1: you need to do getting facials per month which weren't cheap,
- 41:32Speaker 1: but it literally cleared my skin. So I think it
- 41:36Speaker 1: is that commitment is going to is commitment to yourself
- 41:40Speaker 1: of like putting that money down is where I think
- 41:43Speaker 1: girlies once they do it, they're like, Aha, this.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Is augh the girlies. Aha.
- 41:48Speaker 3: A previous model now at the forefront of this budding
- 41:52Speaker 3: community twenty thousand strong and growing quickly. A lot of
- 41:56Speaker 3: those women may look at you gorgeous, like this woman
- 42:01Speaker 3: has it all together. What would you say your biggest
- 42:06Speaker 3: struggle has been over the last few years personally while
- 42:12Speaker 3: building this.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Community, comparison comes to mind strongly. I think there is
- 42:19Speaker 1: a lot of people in every space, not just mine,
- 42:23Speaker 1: but a lot of spaces, and I think if I
- 42:27Speaker 1: think there's been times where I ask myself, well, what
- 42:30Speaker 1: are they doing that I'm not doing? Why do people
- 42:34Speaker 1: like them and not me? There's definitely been those vulnerable
- 42:37Speaker 1: moments while starting a company. It's a very vulnerable thing
- 42:41Speaker 1: because you know, financially you're leaning on this moment, but
- 42:45Speaker 1: also it is such a self reflection of you believing
- 42:49Speaker 1: in this thing. And for me, it could be like
- 42:51Speaker 1: people don't believe in me, people don't believe in what
- 42:53Speaker 1: I'm projecting, So it could be a little of the
- 42:56Speaker 1: imposter syndrome coming through. I think that would be like
- 42:58Speaker 1: my battle through this time of just remembering first off
- 43:03Speaker 1: that there's space for all of us, and secondly, the
- 43:05Speaker 1: people that are going to connect to me are going
- 43:08Speaker 1: to connect to me and to stay in my own lane.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Yeah, put the blinders on is like a huge piece
- 43:14Speaker 3: of advice that someone once offered me. And you're not
- 43:17Speaker 3: alone in you know, falling into that comparison trap by
- 43:21Speaker 3: any means.
- 43:22Speaker 2: And you know that.
- 43:23Speaker 3: So when you do find yourself with your wheel spinning,
- 43:26Speaker 3: feeling like you're a little bit in the mud, stuck
- 43:29Speaker 3: in that spot, how have you classically been able to
- 43:33Speaker 3: get out in the past.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I usually start by remembering that if I'm comparing to them,
- 43:40Speaker 1: they also are an influence to me, Like I use
- 43:44Speaker 1: it as drive, I use it as they're just doing
- 43:47Speaker 1: things that I also can't wait to do, or that
- 43:50Speaker 1: I appreciate or I respect, So then I'll practice sending
- 43:53Speaker 1: them love because I don't want them to also have
- 43:56Speaker 1: any any feelings. Besides, you're doing amazing, So I'll practice
- 44:01Speaker 1: setting those like certain people that I am comparing to love,
- 44:04Speaker 1: and then I'll give myself that love right back, and
- 44:07Speaker 1: I'll focus on visualization. I love visualization, so I'll sit
- 44:11Speaker 1: with myself and visualize where I want to be, how
- 44:14Speaker 1: I feel in that moment when I do get there,
- 44:17Speaker 1: reconnecting to my dreams and what I actually want, and
- 44:22Speaker 1: then lastly, probably connecting to the community members I do
- 44:25Speaker 1: have that absolutely love what I'm doing.
- 44:29Speaker 3: I'm like chuckling a little bit here thinking about how
- 44:33Speaker 3: about twenty five minutes ago you spoke so candidly about
- 44:37Speaker 3: wondering if you had any intuition at all, and now
- 44:41Speaker 3: being so grounded in listening to what your inner voice
- 44:45Speaker 3: is saying and practicing utilizing that intuition so regularly.
- 44:50Speaker 2: It's really admirable.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Thank you so much. I think when you thought you
- 44:55Speaker 1: never had one and then you find them, you just
- 44:57Speaker 1: never want him gone now, So I keep them really
- 45:00Speaker 1: close and lean on that intuition so much.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, and also this practice of sending others love.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Can you talk a little bit about that.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yes, I think this is so powerful because say you
- 45:15Speaker 1: did something wrong and you've already apologized, this is just
- 45:19Speaker 1: for reference, and then you walk away, but you still
- 45:23Speaker 1: feel it in your body. Right, maybe that person has
- 45:25Speaker 1: already released it, they're like, great, thanks for the apology,
- 45:29Speaker 1: but you still feel it. And I personally feel like
- 45:32Speaker 1: we're now just holding that energy in our body and
- 45:35Speaker 1: it's just stuck there and it's interfering with like the
- 45:38Speaker 1: love and joy and all the other energies that actually
- 45:41Speaker 1: want to come through. So truly, it is a lot.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I think forgiveness is actually it's a gift for someone else,
- 45:47Speaker 1: but I think it's a greater gift for yourself. So
- 45:49Speaker 1: I'll practice. I have like a color and mind that
- 45:53Speaker 1: is like my love color, and it's yellow. And when
- 45:57Speaker 1: I close my eyes, I pat I picture myself sending
- 46:00Speaker 1: this yellow light all the way to them, if they
- 46:03Speaker 1: could be all the way across the world, they could
- 46:06Speaker 1: be wherever they're at. And I know that that light
- 46:09Speaker 1: from my heart is connecting directly to theirs, and I
- 46:13Speaker 1: let that moment soak in and then I release it
- 46:17Speaker 1: and let it all all go.
- 46:19Speaker 3: That's so powerful. I was sitting here doing that a
- 46:23Speaker 3: little bit with you just now.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I love that. I feel like I just don't allow
- 46:28Speaker 1: certain unless I need to feel certain emotions, but I
- 46:31Speaker 1: don't allow them to one last and I don't allow
- 46:33Speaker 1: them to take up space of the good energy that's needed.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Right again, me comparing me having jealousy, me having any
- 46:40Speaker 1: of that is doing zero justice for myself or for them.
- 46:44Speaker 3: And that is also exemplary of the work that you've done,
- 46:46Speaker 3: because it takes a really it takes a while at least,
- 46:51Speaker 3: I'll say from my experience to get to a place
- 46:53Speaker 3: where you truly can understand the benefit of releasing the
- 46:57Speaker 3: things that don't serve you and getting to a place
- 47:00Speaker 3: also where you accept the things that you cannot change.
- 47:02Speaker 3: It's like, Okay, maybe this one situation may have made
- 47:05Speaker 3: me feel some kind of way, but now, after doing
- 47:08Speaker 3: this work, I understand that I control what happens next.
- 47:11Speaker 2: So for you, you've decided that.
- 47:14Speaker 3: I'm going to send maybe light or love as a
- 47:18Speaker 3: response instead of sitting in these feelings that just aren't serving.
- 47:22Speaker 1: You exactly, and it's done.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Me wonders, did you learn that from someone else or
- 47:29Speaker 3: is that like a practice that you came up with
- 47:30Speaker 3: on your own.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I think I probably, to be honest, I don't have
- 47:36Speaker 1: anyone in mind that like taught me that specifically. I
- 47:39Speaker 1: think over all of the work that I've done, they've
- 47:41Speaker 1: connected in some way to be able to connect that
- 47:44Speaker 1: and do that. The one thing someone did teach me
- 47:46Speaker 1: and then maybe I turned it into my own was
- 47:51Speaker 1: kind of like picturing a chord connected to like almost
- 47:54Speaker 1: like an outlet connected to someone else. So someone else
- 47:57Speaker 1: that you are giving power to hold your emotions. You
- 48:00Speaker 1: feel this connection to them. And again, so say I
- 48:03Speaker 1: was jealous of someone, I am now connecting a chord
- 48:07Speaker 1: to them. So a way that they helped me visualize
- 48:10Speaker 1: is to cut the chord. So it's like you're cutting
- 48:12Speaker 1: the cord and now we've released that connection and that
- 48:16Speaker 1: energy of that emotion. So I think I started doing
- 48:19Speaker 1: that and then from there started the light one that
- 48:23Speaker 1: I do. Now.
- 48:24Speaker 2: I love that. I'm into it. I'm into it.
- 48:26Speaker 3: So again, at the front of a rapidly growing business,
- 48:31Speaker 3: what would you say in this time, one of the
- 48:34Speaker 3: best pieces of advice has been that someone has offered
- 48:38Speaker 3: you on your entrepreneurial journey.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Your superpower is you, and for me, what that means
- 48:45Speaker 1: is always connecting it back to I am the only
- 48:51Speaker 1: me out there. So when those negative thoughts come through,
- 48:54Speaker 1: when the comparison comes through, when the decisions come through,
- 48:58Speaker 1: it's like I am the superpower and this company is
- 49:02Speaker 1: running because it's from me, my ideas and what I want.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I know that your partner is an entrepreneur as well.
- 49:10Speaker 3: How does that bode for your household?
- 49:13Speaker 1: It's an inspiring buzz in household over here, that's for sure.
- 49:17Speaker 1: I would say you feel the energy when you come
- 49:20Speaker 1: into this house. We're both in startups, so it's it's
- 49:23Speaker 1: definitely high energy and it's inspiring. We both have our
- 49:26Speaker 1: teams work out of here. We both feed off of
- 49:29Speaker 1: each other. We both support each other and communicate from
- 49:32Speaker 1: each learnings that we're both having, and I think we
- 49:35Speaker 1: both understand each other, which is kind of hard in
- 49:39Speaker 1: an entrepreneur world. We both really really understand what we're
- 49:45Speaker 1: both going through.
- 49:46Speaker 2: How does that feel for you?
- 49:50Speaker 1: Oh, it feels right. It feels it feels like I
- 49:57Speaker 1: can do anything because I have him also doing the
- 50:00Speaker 1: same thing.
- 50:02Speaker 3: You just feel really understood, understood, really beautiful now being
- 50:07Speaker 3: at the center of all of this programming. What do
- 50:10Speaker 3: you do on the days that you aren't feeling like
- 50:14Speaker 3: showing up perhaps or just going through something on the
- 50:17Speaker 3: personal side of things.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'll say for me, a lot of
- 50:22Speaker 1: the days I have to show up and teach, so
- 50:24Speaker 1: obviously having new workouts come out weekly on form and
- 50:29Speaker 1: some days, just like everyone else who is not feeling
- 50:32Speaker 1: like working out or their bodies just not into it,
- 50:36Speaker 1: that is a tougher moment for me. So I think
- 50:40Speaker 1: I have an incredible team that I can lean on
- 50:44Speaker 1: and say, hey, I checked in with myself, I need rest,
- 50:48Speaker 1: I need a moment. Can we push this? Move this?
- 50:52Speaker 1: So I'm really good about priorities and knowing when I
- 50:56Speaker 1: need to push myself and when something can actually be
- 50:59Speaker 1: stressed free and I can move it.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Love that.
- 51:02Speaker 3: I think that that practice is just so important in general.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Right if you get to a place where you're just
- 51:08Speaker 3: like I just don't feel like I have the capacity
- 51:11Speaker 3: to do X, knowing the opportunity and benefit that you
- 51:15Speaker 3: have to like reach out to someone and maybe put
- 51:17Speaker 3: your ego aside and be like help, Like what am
- 51:20Speaker 3: I supposed to do?
- 51:21Speaker 2: Please please tell me exactly.
- 51:24Speaker 1: You know, It's funny, it is such an ego thing.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Like half the time, my team's like, of course we
- 51:29Speaker 1: can move it, and I'm like, we can.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Are you sure? So crazy?
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah? So crazy? Are you sure? So? I think? Yeah?
- 51:36Speaker 1: I mean it only does everyone justice when I listen
- 51:39Speaker 1: to that, you know, because if I show up on
- 51:41Speaker 1: set and I'm not clear I'm not in it, it
- 51:44Speaker 1: can also not be a great workout.
- 51:47Speaker 2: What excites you right now, Sammy?
- 51:50Speaker 1: I would say this era we're in, or this energy
- 51:55Speaker 1: that I'm around, where people are wanting it all and
- 51:58Speaker 1: the best for themselves, at least who I'm following on
- 52:03Speaker 1: social or who I'm surrounding myself with. I just see
- 52:06Speaker 1: people really understanding that they can have their dream life
- 52:11Speaker 1: and they're doing what they can and learning how they
- 52:14Speaker 1: can have it. And for me, I'm like, yeah, we can,
- 52:19Speaker 1: we can have it all, and I love being surrounded
- 52:24Speaker 1: by that.
- 52:25Speaker 3: I recently did an episode on the show where we
- 52:28Speaker 3: were talking about how energy attracts like energy, and this
- 52:31Speaker 3: seems to be exactly what you're tapping into. Here is
- 52:36Speaker 3: this concept of knowing that you know who you are,
- 52:40Speaker 3: you know what you want to admit into the world,
- 52:42Speaker 3: and that is this positivity and this you know, kind
- 52:46Speaker 3: of motivational sphere. And so when you look around you
- 52:49Speaker 3: and you look at your life, you find that then
- 52:52Speaker 3: that is exactly what you see looking back at you.
- 52:55Speaker 3: But you can't just expect that to be there looking
- 52:59Speaker 3: back at you if you're not willing to be the
- 53:01Speaker 3: person that's going to give it right out.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Paradima preach exactly.
- 53:09Speaker 3: I love that for you though, I love like I
- 53:11Speaker 3: mean because I also think that that is something that
- 53:14Speaker 3: takes a while to cultivate as well.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think I've just seen to piggyback on
- 53:19Speaker 1: that too. The power of me doing the work has
- 53:24Speaker 1: domino effected into the people in my life. You know,
- 53:28Speaker 1: there's people in my life that I never thought would change.
- 53:32Speaker 1: There's people in my life that I just thought that
- 53:36Speaker 1: they they would stay the way they stayed. They don't
- 53:38Speaker 1: want to, but they would stay that way. And the
- 53:41Speaker 1: domino effect of just putting in the work yourself is
- 53:44Speaker 1: so inspiring people are watching and also I think by
- 53:49Speaker 1: energy is just like magically going into them as well.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Like it's such a domino effect in my eyes.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Have you.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Had to walk away from individuals or situations that didn't
- 54:04Speaker 3: serve you in pursuit of vibrating at this frequency.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Absolutely, Yeah, definitely have.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Can you talk a little bit about that.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a really confusing time, specifically when I
- 54:20Speaker 1: really started seeing that I was asking for what I
- 54:25Speaker 1: want and I was living it and I wanted to
- 54:28Speaker 1: continue that, and anyone that was trying to bring that down,
- 54:35Speaker 1: I knew I needed to let go. I mean, let's
- 54:38Speaker 1: be real, we are evolving humans, and I think I
- 54:41Speaker 1: had this vision in my eye that we are supposed
- 54:44Speaker 1: to stay with the same friends, same people from kindergarten
- 54:49Speaker 1: all the way till we're eighty, and by all means,
- 54:51Speaker 1: some people do it. And I'm like, that looks so fun,
- 54:54Speaker 1: Like you guys have the best memories. For me, I'm like,
- 54:57Speaker 1: so evolving even in my relation, we're having to have
- 55:01Speaker 1: strong communication because we're just so evolving that I did
- 55:05Speaker 1: have to let friendships go and people go that were
- 55:09Speaker 1: just not on either side serving each other anymore. And
- 55:13Speaker 1: again I would call it confusing because you felt like
- 55:16Speaker 1: you were doing something wrong, but it felt right. So
- 55:19Speaker 1: it's emotional because you're losing a piece of you that
- 55:22Speaker 1: you've invested in, you have memories with, but you also
- 55:25Speaker 1: knew it was right for the both of you to
- 55:28Speaker 1: let that time go.
- 55:30Speaker 3: When you're losing that quote unquote piece of you. Though
- 55:33Speaker 3: in this process, what do you gain.
- 55:38Speaker 1: More people that are actually on that wavelength and that
- 55:43Speaker 1: are going to teach you more things than you've ever
- 55:48Speaker 1: even known? Like I want to be in a room
- 55:50Speaker 1: and surrounded by people that I am inspired by, learning
- 55:53Speaker 1: by elevating and evolving me, And that's what it gave
- 55:57Speaker 1: space for those people to enter.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Friend breakups are hard, right, Like, it's hard, it's emotional,
- 56:02Speaker 3: Like you said, you have like all of these deep
- 56:04Speaker 3: rooted memories, But knowing who you want to be is
- 56:08Speaker 3: truly the most beautiful thing that you can do for yourself.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yes, yes, and even too it's doing them justice because
- 56:18Speaker 1: I felt like I was also bringing that person down
- 56:22Speaker 1: because I had things I wanted them to be at
- 56:25Speaker 1: and they could feel it, so it was also not
- 56:28Speaker 1: doing them any justice and any like love and feel good.
- 56:32Speaker 1: So it actually is so good for them too to
- 56:35Speaker 1: let them go on their own journey and they don't
- 56:37Speaker 1: need to try and be with mine right now because
- 56:40Speaker 1: it's not the time.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, my God, that whole concept of like you
- 56:44Speaker 3: cannot want better for someone than they want for themselves,
- 56:47Speaker 3: and knowing that it's not your obligation to help them
- 56:51Speaker 3: get there.
- 56:52Speaker 1: No, no, And let me tell you the amount of
- 56:54Speaker 1: friends that I've actually come back into my life because
- 56:57Speaker 1: they took the time they needed to figure it out
- 56:59Speaker 1: on their own, but they knew that I was there
- 57:02Speaker 1: and I was holding space for them when they were ready.
- 57:04Speaker 1: It's so good for the both of you.
- 57:08Speaker 2: So good, so good. Okay.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Right now, someone comes to your Instagram page, they see
- 57:15Speaker 3: this creator a form, a really just beautiful person inside
- 57:20Speaker 3: and out. When you look in the mirror, Sammy, what
- 57:24Speaker 3: is it you see looking back at you?
- 57:28Speaker 1: Oh, I see I see the honestly a lot of love.

- 57:55Speaker 3: offer yourself a piece of advice back at the beginning
- 57:59Speaker 3: of starting form. You're at this crossroads, you're getting out
- 58:03Speaker 3: of modeling. Knowing what you know now, what advice would
- 58:07Speaker 3: you offer her in that hurdle moment.
